We’re going to talk about the Bible for a little bit, and I hope that you’ll take advantage. I’m going to talk a little bit about parables today, contrary to what most people think and have been taught, Jesus spoke in parables to hide or concealed truth from those who really did not want to know truth.

Usually you’ll hear something like this. Jesus spoke in parables to illustrate the truth in order that it might be made clear and understandable. That’s not so, not so. That is not so. the Scriptures speak for themselves. Jesus said in Mark’s Gospel chapter 4 verses 11 through 12, he says unto you the disciples it is given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God, but unto them that are without all these things are done in parables that seeing they may see and not.

perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand, less than any time they should be converted than their sins should be forgiven them.” Wow! Jesus plainly says he has spoken parables so that people would not understand, would not understand what he was saying. Let me quote that one part of the verse where he says that seeing they may see and not perceive, hearing they may hear and not understand less than any time they should be converted. Obviously Christ is telling us here he spoke in parables to conceal truth, to hide truth from those who really didn’t want to know the truth.

That is exactly why the whole subject of parables ought to be approached very carefully. It is because the parables can be made to say just about anything you want them to say and that’s exactly what Jesus Christ intended. that sounds strange, let me repeat it, Jesus spoke in parables to hide and conceal truth from those who really don’t want to know the truth. Listen to this prayer of Jesus in Matthew 1125. He says, I thank the O Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them unto babies.

In this prayer, Jesus is thanking the Father for hiding the truth from certain persons. All parables must therefore be interpreted in the light of clear doctrinal statements. We should never contradict a clear statement of Scripture with a Scripture passage we do not understand. For example, Jesus said in John 647, verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me has everlasting life. Well that statement is clear and the proclamation is final. Nothing in the Bible contradicts this wonderful verse.

In fact all of other Scripture must be interpreted in the light of this verse. Any interpretation of a Scripture that contradicts John 647, it would be a wrong interpretation. Why? Because the Bible is in harmony. God is the author throughout all 66 books. And if you have contradictions, you have a wrong interpretation of some passage that might be considered somewhat difficult. But you always interpret a difficult passage in the light of a clear one, and you’ll never go wrong.

That is a basic law of hermodynamics or interpreting the scripture. It says in Deuteronomy 29-29, the secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. So we find this verse a wonderful truth, that the truths of God’s words are for the saved, not for the unbeliever. That’s why the Bible says that the unbeliever can’t really make heads or tails out of the Bible.

In 1 Corinthians 2, 14, the Bible says the natural man, that’s the unsaved man, the unregenerate man, the man that’s not been born again, the natural man receive not the things of the Spirit of God for their foolishness in him, neither can he know them because they are spiritually So the unsafe man might say, well the Bible doesn’t make any sense to me, or I can’t understand the Bible. Well, guess what? That’s what the Bible says. Unsaved people are going to have difficulty.

They’re not going to be able to understand, and they will be foolishness into him. Neither can he know them because they’re spiritually discerned. In John 847 it says, he that is of God, heareth God’s words. You therefore hear them not because you are not of God. So even though somebody might read the Bible to you, you don’t really hear what God is saying because you are not of God. All the way through the Bible, the Bible makes this very clear.

Now the unsaved men can understand the gospel. Paul tells us that the gospel message is the power of God on the salvation Romans 1, 16. So if the unbeliever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, then the Bible can become opened up to him. You know, this is amazing, but most people really have a wrong view about parables. They always say, well Christ spoke in parables so that he could tell a simple story so everybody would get the point and the message would get it crossed and it would be clear.

Boy, nothing could be further from the truth. As we just read a moment ago that it says here in Mark 4, 11 through 12, Jesus said to his disciples, unto you it is given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God. God, but unto them that are without, that’s the unsaved. All these things are done in parables that seeing they may see and not perceive and hearing they may hear and not understand lest at any time they should be converted and their sins be forgiven them.

Jesus tells us plainly he spoke in parables so that people would not understand what he’s saying. I’m I’m Dr. Englund from This Is By Blind. I hope you have trusted Christ as your Savior. He’s the only way to enter heaven, and unless you trust Him, as the only means of your salvation to buy His death and shed blood, that He paid your sin debt and full, you will not enter heaven. We’re gonna go to the phone lines, if you would like to call in, you may call us at 1-800-576-3771, We have Benjamin in clear water patiently waiting in Benjamin you are on the air.

Good morning, Dr. Han. In Revelation 19, 20, say the beast and the prophet both were cast alive in the lake of fire. Also in 2010 say the devil was cast in the lake of fire also in Luke 1623 say the wishman was in the hell What is the difference between? Lake of fire and the hell that’s a first question The second can you hold on one second? Let’s talk about it in Luke 16 where the rich man is cast in the flame and tormentor.

The Greek word is Hades. It was wrongly translated hell. It is the hollow place in the heart of the earth where the unsaved dead go. It’s not a purgatory, but it is a holding tank where the lost are held until after the false prophet and the beast, the Antichrist, and Satan are cast into hell. Then all of these people will be brought up out of Hades. Again in Revelation 20 it says hell but if you have a Scofield or good reference Bible the Greek word is Hades Hades delivers up the dead which were in it.

They’re judged according to their works assigned a degree of punishment and cast into hell after Satanist. So there’s nobody in hell yet but they are there are many in Hades that’s where the lost go and are in flame and torment and they will never get out of going to hell once you die without Christ you’re in trouble. So hopefully that answers that part of the question. Okay, thank you. The second one is in the new heaven and in the new earth everything is going to be new and then where are we going to be the lake of fire because everybody are going to be suffering, the devil, the prophet, the beast, and the people get to go to hell.

Everybody will be suffering. We are going to be in the new earth and new earth, the lake of fire. Thank you. All right. You’re very welcome, Benjamin. And apparently, the lake of fire is a sun, Like our son, you know, there are a lot of different ways that Hell is described. It’s called the Blackness of Darkness forever. It’s called a Lake of Fire, a Furnace of Fire and so on. And it also in Jude talks about those that are cast into Hell being wandering stars.

And so apparently they will be cast into a star like our son. several would be used and each one would have a different intensity of heat as some are more intense and some are larger than others. But in any case, if you were cast into the sun, you would be in a furnace of fire, a lake of fire. But yet if you were to look outward from the surface of the sun, you’d see nothing but blackness in every direction that you would look.

That’s true if you look out at night, the universe is black out there and looking out from the surface of the sun it would be black. So it could be the blackness of darkness forever. It could be that the degrees of hell would be that you would be cast into a sun of a particular heat. I’m not too sure about that, but certainly Jude implies that as we know the stars are in orbit, like our planets are in orbit, the sun that we orbit around is in orbit itself.

And we’re all moving. And so speed is relative. You may not feel like you’re moving right now. You might be sitting in your home. But the Earth right now is traveling at over 66,000 miles per hour in its orbit about the sun as we go around. So you don’t probably feel like you’re going 66,000 miles per hour, but right now you are. And that’s relative to the sun. And then the sun is moving in addition to all of this.

And so it’s really interesting to think about. In any case, just sitting on your couch in your living room, you’re still traveling at over a thousand miles per hour because the Earth makes a rotation once every 24 hours and has to in that one rotation go 25,000 miles to give us one day. So we’re traveling at over a thousand miles per hour all the time in order for the earth to make that revolution in 24 hours. So we’re moving as people on the planet, not only in relationship to the planet itself turning on its axes every 24 hours traveling 25,000 miles that one spot where you are, but also our Earth in its orbit around the Sun is traveling at 66,000 miles per hour.

We’re all really doing a whole lot of moving and you don’t realize it. It’s just like when you get in an airplane. You might be flying across the Atlantic at many hundreds of miles per hour, but you don’t have the sensation of movement at all. You You just are sitting there just like you’re sitting at home. Unless you hit some turbulence, you would never know you were crossing the Atlantic a mini miles high in a jetliner. So thank you very much and I hope that answered your questions and we are now going to go to Lou in Tampa.

Lou, welcome to ByBlind. Great to hear from you. Hey, good morning Dr. Hank. This is Lou from Tampa. How are you? Good. Kind of two questions, Dr. Hank. We are body, soul and spirit. The difference between soul and spirit is what, Dr. Hank? Well, the soul was the real you, and apparently the body and the spirit play a role similar in a way. The body has five senses where we are made aware of our physical surroundings, that input goes to our soul.

So we know through feeling and sight and hearing and touch and smell, we’re able to take in information about the surrounding world. And the spirit, likewise, is the means of information being taken to our soul from the spirit world. The unsaved man can certainly get information from Satan and the Satan world. So their spirit is very much alive, but we’re spiritually dead to God because we don’t receive information from God until we become born again, except we can hear the gospel and become saved.

So that’s the role of the Spirit. Does conscience and Spirit have any kind of interplay or no? Well the conscience gets programmed. That’s like your hard drive. And the Bible tells us that you can have your conscience seared so that it doesn’t set off an alarm. But as As you read the Bible, it really reprograms your hard drive or your conscience so that when you do something that violates the Bible, it’ll bother you. Okay, so you can harden out the conscience.

How about the spirit? Does that, can that be put on hold as well or no? Not really, it’s there. But depending on what you’re tuning in, if you’re tuning in everything that satisfies the flesh and not the word of God, then you’re not going to go anywhere spiritually with God. So as a believer, we need to choose the right friends. We need to choose what we read, what we see, what we do, what activities we participate in because all that has to do with our new nature or our old nature’s believers and spiritual success with God requires us to be disciplined.

Okay, so Corinthians verse, absent from the body, present with the Lord, bodies in the ground. Would you say soul and spirit is with the Lord or to be with the Lord? Absolutely. Soul and spirit go to be with the Lord. The non-material part of you goes directly to be with the Lord. Now the store in Lazarus, the rich man tells Lazarus, come down, cool my tongue in a place of torment. So would you say he’s got all three, body, soul and spirit there?

That’s a very good question and that is raised from time to time and we might have to Just wait on that one to get a good answer from God Some believe that there is a The possibility that there is a spirit in a place of torment right? Oh, absolutely And he felt it and he knew he was there and I and I truly believe everybody in Hades right now is experiencing that They don’t really get the resurrection bodies until after the Millennium the unsaved get theirs at the end of the thousand year end of Christ.

But did you just imagine that being in a place of torments, let’s say he’s got a temporary body that’s in flame and torment now. Then he goes to the Great White Throne Judgment, another new body just in time to get flame and torment again. That’s got to hurt. Oh, I tell you it. Sure does. Thank you very much. Have yourself a great day. You too. Thank you, Lou, in Tampa, Florida calling in. We have some more fair questions and we’ll go ahead and try to take a few of those.

We have Dana calling in from Flint, Michigan, and he was listening last night and he’ll listen again, I guess, this evening, and catch these answers. He says, was Adam saved before he died? And the answer is yes, Adam and Eve both were saved. I think their salvation is described in chapter 3, verse 20 and 21. You see Adam there exhibiting his faith in verse 20, where before they had any children, he names his wife Eve, which means the mother of all living.

she had not had any children, but now he names her the mother of all living. They had just heard the promise in Genesis 3.15 that the woman would give seed or have a child that down the line the Messiah would come through the woman. And so apparently Adam and Eve both believed it. Adam, before she even bore a child, named her Eve the mother of all living. And the very next verse verse 21 of Genesis 3 tells us that God clothed them with coats of skins and animals.

They had tried to make their own covering out of fig leaves. It just didn’t work with God. But God here is giving us a picture of Calvary, which I believe Adam and Eve believed in that Savior, the Promised Seed from Genesis 3.15. And there we see an animal had to be slain. Its blood had to be shed. And that was an innocent animal. In its coat became the covering for Adam and Eve, and that’s a picture of Christ. He was innocent or sinless and had to die.

His blood had to be shed, and the very righteousness of Christ becomes the covering for the believer, the robe of righteousness by where we are eligible to enter heaven. Dana also asked, where did Abel go when he died? was a believer, and it tells us that plainly in Hebrews 11 verse 4, and so as believers all the Old Testament since saints went to paradise, which was in the heart of the earth, and when Christ died he also went down to paradise where he met the dying thief, and he emptied the place out now all of the Old Testament saints here in heaven, and paradise has been relocated to heaven itself according to 2 Corinthians 12, 2, and 3.

Then we have the question asked by Dana, was Saul saved or did he lose his salvation? Saul was saved. You’ll read in Samuel that he actually was counted with the prophets. He had the Holy Spirit. Now in the Old Testament the Holy Spirit could come and go and because of Saul’s disobedience the Holy Spirit was taken from him but he was still saved. And what is interesting is when you read 1 Samuel 28 when he went to the witch of Indoor and he conjured up as the witch to conjure up Samuel the prophet.

Samuel actually did come up. That was the one time exception when somebody actually came back from the dead to converse was somebody who was living excepting for Christ. And he came back and told Saul that he and his sons would lose the battle the next day with the Philistines and that they would all three die and that they would join Samuel. A positive proof that Saul and his sons were saved, although disobedient, and God took their lives in that battle with the Philistines, and he lost everything he had, his kingdom and everything, but yet Saul was saved.

Dana, thank you for that question from Flint, Michigan. We have some more off-air questions and we have a question. and we’ll try to take some of those. Let me give you the phone number again, if you’d like to call in, the number’s 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And we’ll try to catch some others here. We have your Jack in Venice, Florida. He says, I love your article. By the way, you can download these, load these off the internet. It says, I love your article called eternal salvation.

Please explain Revelation 2, 5. OK, Revelation 2, 5 is talking to the church at Ephesus. And each of these churches were real churches in Asia Minor, and Christ has a message to each and every one of them. Now, what these churches had to lose was their privilege of being a lamp or a lamp stand or light in this world. It says in verse 5, remember from once our fallen and repent, do the first week’s stories, or I’ll come into you quickly and remove thy candlestick.

The candlestick is that they were a light. So you could lose your witness. And that’s what happened in these church, excessively as they are a prophetic picture of history, lost their right to proclaim Christ because they failed in some area. But he moved on to the next group. You can’t lose your salvation, but you can lose your privilege to witness. Alright we have to go to break. It’s amazing how quickly the half hour goes. We’ll be right back. Don’t change that down.

Away, Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright I’m Dr. Engleman Stearman, it’s great to be with you and we’re going to approach the weekend here. If you’re in the Tampa Bay area, we’d love to have you come by and worship with us. If you’re in the Tampa Bay area, you can listen on the West Coast of Florida to Bible on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m.

Eastern time. And of course if you have internet you can listen from wherever you might be on the planet earth to Bibleline 24 hours a day seven days a week. I hope you will take advantage of the Bibleline program over the weekend through the internet. Or if your station plays some extra programs on the weekend that you would listen to those as well. We are excited about the class we’re teaching, Jesus is coming, you might want to order that in advance, but also you might want to get our classes on different books of the Bible.

Romans is an exciting study. The Book of Jude is a really exciting study. The Book of Hebrews, a difficult book, very few commentaries on Hebrews because nobody understand it, but we went through it verse by verse dealing with all the difficult passages. You might want to get that series on CD there. 10 CDs, 10 hours of teaching on each of those. Many are using those for teaching in their Sunday school class. We have a pastor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who has bought some of these and they use them to facilitate the adult Sunday school class.

So I’m teaching Sunday school in Pittsburgh. And other places are using them as well. I know in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, I have a friend that uses my CDs to facilitate a Bible study in their home. And so you might want to get them for your personal use and also maybe to facilitate a Bible study or a Sunday school class and use them to God’s glory. Certainly, we want you to know what we have in our Resource Center and all you have to do is call our operators at 1-800-576-3771 and get a copy of our resource sheet.

And if you call they’ll mail that out to you free. Also you can go to the Internet site, BibleLineMinistries.org.com and click on the online bookstore and there you’ll see all the things that we offer. We hope that you’ll also recognize that we are listeners supported. We can sure use your help as you pray for us and give the Bibleline. If you haven’t given a gift this month, would you give a gift to Bibleline? The Bible is a great gift for the month of February.

You can do that by mail or you can call and give it by credit card over the phone and your gifts are really an indispensable part of this ministry. We cannot continue without your help. So please let the Lord guide you but give a gift to Bibleline this month if you would. Call our operators and they’ll be glad to receive it. We’re now going to go to the second half of Bibleline. Stay tuned.

Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? you can just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break, and this is by the line in the second half hour. We’re coming to you from Tampa, from our studios right here at my mind headquarters at the Calvary Community Church where I’m pastor, and you’re always welcome to come by and worship with us or come by during the week and visit our resource center, and people come by every day, and we’d love to get to meet you when you come by.

Please do come by. And sometimes people come in the door and say, I’m here because I was invited to come by. Well, isn’t that great? You are invited, and we certainly want you to come, and we hope that you feel real welcome when you get here, because we’ll try to give you the red carpet treatment. That’s true, also, if you come to a worship service here, We’d love to have you come and worship with us sometime. But if you’re ever in the area from outside of Tampa, Tampa Bay area, please stop in when you’re in Florida, whether you’re here on business or pleasure.

If you fly into Tampa, we’re just a block west of the airport, so take that extra minute and swing by and say hello while you’re here. And we always love to meet our listeners. and it’s a joy to hear your story of your coming to know Christ as it’s amazing how when you meet somebody who’s a believer, a true believer, you feel like you’ve known them all their life because we’re brothers and sisters in Christ related by the blood of Christ.

Again, I want to remind you that Bibleline needs your help financially because we are listeners supported. And so if our listeners quit giving, we’d be off the air. If you want to assure that this program continues in your area and the Bible and continue to grow and reach out, we could use your financial help. Could you send a gift to Bible and you can do it by mail? Our operators will be glad to give you the address and send you an envelope with our address on it.

Also, you can give it by credit card over the phone. Also, you You can go to our website and give a gift on our online bookstore. So what’d you consider giving a gift to Bibleline this month and help Bibleline to continue to reach out with the gospel of Jesus Christ? And we certainly hope that you will do that. I am Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is Bibleline and we enjoy being with you. I hope you’ll attend church somewhere this weekend and you shouldn’t just attend any church.

a church that is biblically sound. We have a sheet that’s on my website you can download it or you can call a will send it to you that is called Beliefs that Matter about 25 basic doctrines that a sound church ought to embrace. It’s a good way to investigate a church to see whether you want to go there before you ever step in the door. You can do your interview over the phone and start calling around and quiz them on these fundamental basic doctrines about the Bible, the Godhead, the Lord Jesus Christ, salvation by faith, eternal security, and on and on.

You want to make sure that you’re attending a biblical based church that is sound in doctrine, and that way you’re going to be right where God wants you to be. Anyway, please give us a call if we can help you in any way and we have lots of resources including tapes and CDs of my teachings that I think will be greatly helpful to you and also we have books and commentaries we have the old school field Bible which is becoming rare out there you can hardly find it in a bookstore anymore but we still have it and we go to great lengths to make sure that we have a supply so that you can get in on that great Bible.

The notes are incredible and just indispensable really and I hope that you will make sure that you get one. We’re going to go to the phone lines again. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. We have Brian in Brandon, Florida and Brian welcome to my blind year on the air. Dr. Hank I appreciate your ministry. I just had a quick question.

Go ahead. You’re on here. Dr. Hank, I just read a book by John MacArthur called Hard to Believe. I consider that hard to believe too. I had difficulty reading through that and buying what he says in that book. I totally disagree with the book. I just want to know your opinion on John MacArthur’s ministry as far as a lot of things he teaches Mount Warricks. I’m not clear if it’s for salvation and I guess the other things in the past I’ve heard you mention things about you know John MacArthur or Rick Warren and their books They had the Christian life as a requisite for salvation and you have to Live the Christian life in addition to trusting Christ to be saved.

That’s what said it’s just a wrong message So I would disagree Because I am in Tampa area, I do listen to John McConter’s ministry. Does this seem to be anointed and to be? In many areas he teaches real well, but when you get on predestination he is a full fledged Calvinist. He says that you really don’t have any part in your salvation whatsoever, not even belief. In other words, God chooses you and overcomes you and gives you faith and you become saved based upon what God does for you.

You don’t have a choice at all. You don’t even get to blink your eye as a part of it. So that’s clearly, I believe, wrong. And also the fact that he says you have to be fully committed. And if you, for example, two weeks before you died, became uncommitted, you would not go to him. That’s not true. Yeah, I guess what I when I read the whole book are to believe something he did talk about as far as being on the broad path versus the narrow path.

I guess some Christians though will probably come the realization that they’re alive that they thought they were Christians and you know the really works didn’t show it and they weren’t Christians. I think that’s something to consider anyway. Well that’s not even really what is talking about there in Matthew 7, he’s totally wrong. That passage is talking about that Christ is the only way to heaven and it’s narrow in the sense that it is exclusively in Christ. And the broad way is to choose any other means of salvation, whether it be works or a particular denomination or organization or cult or religion that is offering a way to heaven but not through Christ and his shed blood alone.

And that’s the broad way. So it’s not talking about difficulty or even staying on the road. I used to hear that taught in the church I was raised in that it was kind of like walking on a tightrope. But if you stayed in good balance and you stayed in good balance and you walked faithfully step by step and you made it to the other side, you made heaven. And salvation was made to be by works by using that. And that’s not what Romans, I mean, Matthew 7 is talking about it all.

He’s talking about that Christ is the only way to heaven and then immediately in verse 15 he leaps into false teachers and false prophets and he tells you how to detect them and basically they’re all works oriented and that’s how you tell a false preacher. I appreciate Dr. Hank. I know it’s subtle out there, no doubt about it and it’s easy to get confused unless you You check out very carefully what the scriptures being quoted say as verses what the person is saying about them.

And if you learn how to rightly divide the word of truth, you’re just going to be fine. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Savior. And that means he saves you, not you save yourself. When you’re drowning, obviously the Savior, the lifeguard comes out and rescues you because you’re not capable of saving yourself and that’s what Christ does and he takes us all the way to heaven which is what salvation is. In other words, at the moment you believe the Bible sees you already seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus Ephesians 2-6.

So as far as God is concerned the night when I trusted Christ when I was 18, that moment became positionally seated in heaven for me to lose my salvation would require Christ to take me out of heaven and put me back down here. Positionally, I’m already there. And I can never be lost because Christ keeps me saved. And this notion that your works have to be there is not even true. You know, Lot went the opposite direction, yet he was genuinely saved.

So there are Christians who go negative that live in sin. What happens? Well, in the case of Lot, he lost his home, he lost his treasures, his investments, his car, his boat, everything. His life wound up in ruin. His daughter’s getting pregnant when they got him drunk. His life was absolutely a mess. Obviously, I think Lot is going to be embarrassed for all eternity. Certainly he’s already been embarrassed. I don’t see many mothers and dads their child, oh it’s naming a lot.

Oh, would that be wonderful to call our newborn lot? They don’t do that. And I don’t see too many people calling their newborn Judas. Because those guys really messed up. Now Judas was never a believer, but a lot was a believer. And the Bible tells us he was a righteous man, not by his lifestyle, but positionally by faith He became saved and was declared righteous before God. We have David and done Eden Florida and David. Welcome to Bible Hello, hello there.

You’re on the air. Oh Dr. Laskum a buffer skicker that I would like your opinion on if you’re still sinning you aren’t safe That’s not true because Guess what? There there’s nobody on this earth that doesn’t sit in including believers John 1 John 1 8 John the Apostle saved at least 60 years when he writes this says if we say we have no sin We deceive ourselves and the truth is not is I Never met. I never will forget a lady I met one time and and she told me she hadn’t saved it sinned rather She hadn’t sinned in eight years.

I said stand still don’t move to stay right there. I want to get my Bible I went over got my Bible and I said would you explain this verse 1 John 1 8? And it says, if we say we have no sin, which you just said, it says we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. Well, she began to do a little song and dance and changed her story, but she made mistakes and didn’t really sin and all this kind of stuff.

Or she said, but didn’t really, she made mistakes or something. And anyway, she tried to wiggle out of it, but everybody sins. Now we may not be committing murder or may not be robbing banks, but you know, sin is described as coming short of the glory of God. So anything we do in this human body tainted with our human nature is sin, according to the Bible. It says on Isaiah 64, 6, that our righteous deeds are filthy rags in God’s sight.

And so there’s nothing we can do. Martin Luther, the reformer, I love his honesty, he said that he found himself sinning even when he was preaching, that he would preach him because he was such a brilliant fellow and great speaker. He translated the whole Bible into the German language for the people of Germany and he said that he would preach and all of a sudden pride would come and swell up in him and he’d say, Martin, you’re really good.

You are really super good. And he just was so disappointed that he couldn’t get that under control that he would find himself sinning and pride would swell up and then we also obviously we may not be committing over crimes and be somebody to be on death row or something like that or on high security maximum prison but we all sin and continue to sin. Yeah that verified my opinion whether it’s been but that was the reason I was so surprised to hear of that bumper sticker because I always understood that you live as Christ like a life as you can, you minimize it as much as any as you can, but everybody does sin.

Absolutely, you got it right. Those people actually deceive themselves and they try to say that they have to live holy without sin. And I’ve seen some here on the local Access Channel. There are about three of them that get on there and they try to say that they’ve never sinned at all. And I just have to say, boy, are they deceived? The Bible says that they won’t admit to or own up to the fact that they still sin. And obviously that’s sad when you can’t see yourself as you really are.

We’re all sinners saved by grace. I love that hymn only as sinners, but we’re saved by grace. By God’s grace and with the power of the Holy Spirit we can have victory over sin, but never does the Bible ever say that we can live sin free. You know the apostle Paul said in Romans 718 he was saved 30 years at the time he writes this and in Romans 718 he says I know that in me that is in my flesh goleth no good thing.

There you have Paul saying, wow, he still had a sin nature that warred against the new nature and wanted to bring his members into bondage unto sin. That’s very clear if you read the seventh chapter of Romans that there’s a struggle, but he says, thank God Christ can give us victory over sin, but we’ll never be able to live sin free. We’re going to go to Madeline and she’s in Braden doing hi. That’s the hang. I’ve got two questions.

One is all in heaven rejoice when a soul is saved. That’s correct. We are in fact Luke 1510. It’s a favor to vine. And it’s the second one. God cannot lie. God cannot lie. That’s Titus 1 2. Titus 1 2. Well, thank you, Dr. Hank. Have a wonderful day. I’ll look at you. Bye bye. You’re most welcome. I can do that because I’ve studied the Bible for a long time and I have memorized a lot of the Bible so I can do that that quickly and thank God that he has allowed my mind to still work so that I can continue to give answers.

We’re going to go to Jim in St. Petersburg and Jim welcome to Bible Eye and You’re On The Earth. Hello brother Hank, how are you this morning? Good. Good. You were talking about Job a few minutes ago and the thought came to my mind that as we look at Job we see some person who was arrogant, he was greedy, self-righteous, he coveted, I mean he did a lot of things that would in our hearts and minds keep him out of heaven and yet the Bible says that when he left Sodom and Gomorrah it says just lot that does not mean only lot cannot because his daughters and his wife actually left the city with him.

It means justified lot. So see only God has the right to say who and who is not going to go to heaven but you know. You’re absolutely right. Amen. He was justified and therefore legally declared righteous by faith based upon of course what Christ would do for us at the cross but is his life he was a sinner no doubt and not the best example of a Christian ought to be. And he had no testimony there in Sodom you know when he tried to witness to his sons and laws at the last minute they all just kind of laughed and rejected what he had to say he had he was not an effective witness for Christ.

the Bible says he was justified in the eyes of God and who am I to argue with that? We can’t. We have to say God is the one that makes the rules and that’s what he says and that’s very good. Thank you so much. That was Jim in St. Petersburg and Lot was justified. I think Jim said Job for a minute which threw me off but he was talking about Lot. We’re We’re going to go to Jerome in Jelom, Jerome, welcome to Bibleline where is hope well?

It’s near Petersburg, Virginia. All right. You’re up there in Virginia and thank you Jerome for calling in. How can we help you today? Yes. From my understanding, I always believe in Rome as if thou should confess with that mouth and believe in that heart thou shall be saved. But this morning before I came in the work, I heard a pastor on the television said that that alone wasn’t enough to say that you have to be baptized. I believe in baptism, but I didn’t understand that as being a required man.

No, he’s totally wrong. We’re saved by faith without works. Water baptism would be a work. And certainly the dying thief was never water baptized. If he had to be, then poor guy, he wouldn’t have made it. But Christ said today, thou shall be with me in paradise. And some people believe that you have to be water baptized, but there’s no verse that says that anywhere in the Bible. You know in fact Paul says, and this is a good verse for you, in 1 Corinthians 1-14, because of division caused over baptism over as to who had baptized you, Paul says, I thank God I baptized none of you.

Now if Paul had a passion for souls, if it were part of salvation, Paul would really be saying, I thank God that none of you are saved. That certainly couldn’t be. In verse 17 of 1 Corinthians 1 Paul says, Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel. He clearly tells us that it’s the gospel that saves when we believe the message of the death of the burial and resurrection of Christ. How could he say Christ didn’t send me to baptize?

But he sent me to preach the gospel if water baptism were part of the gospel message or the saving message It just is a bad teaching on that fellas part and unfortunately he’s wrong Okay, so I can as Roman says, so I know that confess with my but mouth in Jesus Christ and believe in my heart. I am safe. Absolutely. Well, thank you sir. All right, Jerome. There’s nothing required but to trust Christ as your Savior. Jesus said I am the way.

He didn’t say I plus baptism in the way or I plus church membership in the way or I plus confirmation in the way. Christ said that basically that he alone was the way to heaven. We have a large and clear water Florida calling and leaving a question off air and she says in Matthew 25 31 through 46 it makes it sound like we are saved by works. I know you teach saved by faith. She’s confused. A lot of people get confused on that but you have to recognize that.

I think we answered it yesterday, that this is the judgment of the nations and it’s at the end of the tribulation period. The angels separate the saved from the lost, the saved of the sheep on his right side. The goats are the unsaved on his left side. And then it tells about another group of people that were there in the tribulation period. He calls them my brethren. I believe that’s the Jewish brethren of Christ, the 144,000 who will do the evangelism.

And so those that are sheep became sheep by believing the message of the 144,000. And obviously when they were persecuted, they had compassion on them and they visited them in prison and they brought them food and they kept them warm and they took care of them. But the goats who rejected the message of the 144,000 could care less if they lived or died or were in prison or not. And so it’s just It’s basically saying that it was the ones who got saved through the evangelism of 144,000 then went ahead and took care of as best they could.

Those that were persecuted for preaching that gospel to them. But the lost, the goats didn’t care one bit. But they didn’t go to heaven or hell based upon what they did. They got saved based upon what they believed. And when they believed the message of the 144,000, they were saved and by being born again, they became sheep. And the goats, of course, never became anything different. It’s like the lost are condemned to hell already. And when you become born again, then you become a sheep or a child of God.

I hope that helps. It clearly tells us that it was the righteous, which they weren’t righteous by their works, by faith we become righteous with God’s righteousness imputed to us. They went to heaven, but those who were the unbelievers, the goats who did not care about Christ’s brethren, notice they are saved and lost and Christ’s brethren mentioned there. And the brother of Christ, I believe, are the ones who witnessed during the tribulation period who bring about the salvation of the sheep during that time.

Thank you, Marge, and I hope that helps a little and we are excited. Betty in Tampa says there’s talk about the temple being rebuilt. Do you know how and my whom? Well it’s not being built yet but it will be. There’s a mock temple down near Jericho in the deserts of Judea and there they are practicing for temple worship. pundit will be rebuilt but I believe not till after the rapture. If they start building it this side of the rapture, I’m going to be walking around on my tippy toes.

So because we’re going to be rapturing out soon, but if they build the temple this side of the rapture, which we know will be around after the rapture, we have got to be close. All right, it says here, Annie in Tampa, your theme song at the beginning of the show sounds like you worship the cross. And that’s what the Catholics do. Please comment. No, I don’t think it says that at all. But the old rugged cross is where my salvation was purchased.

And so that’s what I cling to in faith. I trust that he died on the cross to pay for my sins. He shed his blood there, was buried in rose again from the dead. But I don’t carry a cross, wear a cross, or worship the cross. I think if you wear a cross and if Christ had been electrocuted in an electric chair two thousand years ago, you’d wear a little electric chair around your neck. I really think it doesn’t matter in that regard except that Christ had to die and shed his blood and the cross was the mechanism by which he died a very horrible death, taking our sins upon him and paying for them as God’s Lamb.

So we don’t worship the cross, we worship Christ. And the old-riggered cross is a favorite by so many of the message of the cross. Alright, well I hope everybody listening has trusted Jesus as their Savior. If you haven’t, do it right now. Just say, Lord, I am a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I believe Jesus died for me. shed his blood to pay for my sins in full was buried and rose again from the dead.
