Anyway open your Bible if you have it there and certainly one of the hot items this week is the fact that did Jesus rise from the dead and of course the Bible says so quite plainly.

If he didn’t, then obviously there is no resurrection of anybody and you might as well light a match to your Bible and walk away. But clearly the whole New Testament is all about the fact that Christ rose again from the dead. People were willing to die because they believed it really to be true and they claimed that they had seen him. Throughout the book of Acts you see testimony after testimony of how they had proclaimed that They had seen him.

And you know what is interesting is it probably showed himself alive for 40 days. After the resurrection teaching his disciples. Acts chapter 1, you don’t hear it preached on too often, but it’s a wonderful verse that I love. It says here, Christ, after he had died on the cross of Calvary, showed himself alive by many infallible proofs being seen of them 40 days. and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God. Christ was around for forty days after the resurrection.

And the disciples got to hear Him, touch Him, eat with Him, talk with Him, just listen to Him, and they all are obviously clearly claiming to be eyewitnesses of this resurrection. We find that Peter in this message on Pentecost tells us that he was an eye witness. This Jesus, he says in verse 32 of Acts 2, have God raised up where of we are all witnesses. He says we’ve witnessed this thing and throughout the New Testament this is the claim wherever you look.

It says here that Christ came back from the dead and this was the message. In fact, the religious leaders being grieved, it says in chapter 4 verse 2, that they taught the people and preached that through Jesus there would be the resurrection from the dead. So Christ came back from the dead and obviously our resurrection is dependent upon him. Jesus himself tells us that all that are in the graves will come forth at his command. In other words the saved and the lost and when it talks about the graves it talks about their bodies and we know that there are two major resurrections.

One called the first resurrection which is of all the saved, all those that have trusted Christ as their Savior, and then another resurrection which occurs a thousand years later of all the unsaved when they get their resurrection bodies. Now the soul doesn’t sleep. Those that have died that are unsaved are in Hades right now in Flamin’ Torment, the Bible tells us. Luke chapter 16 beginning in verse 19 describes two men that die, one a rich man, unbeliever, saved goes to Hades, he’s in Flamin’ Torment there, and he still is at this moment and will be eventually brought up out of that place, given his resurrection body at the second resurrection at the end of the Millennial reign of Christ, and then finally cast into the eternal Lake of Fire.

The other one was Lazarus, not Lazarus that Christ had raised from the dead, but this was Lazarus a beggar that actually ate from the crumbs of the rich man’s table and he dies as a believer and he goes where all the Old Testament saints were in paradise in the heart of the earth. And of course everybody in paradise when Christ rose from the dead were taken out of the heart of the earth and are now in heaven itself with the Lord.

And everybody since the death-barrel in resurrection of Christ are now absent from the body and present with the Lord. That speaks of our soul. So the believers are conscious and awake and in the presence of the Lord at this very moment that have died. And unbelievers are conscious, awake, and aware their circumstances in the heart of the earth in a place of flame and torment called Hades, eventually to be cast into hell. But the bodies are spoken of as sleeping in the grave and the believers get their resurrection bodies first prior to the thousand year reign of Christ.

Call the first resurrection and then a thousand years later it says in Revelation 20 verse 5 the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. Speaking of their bodies they don’t get their bodies until at the end of the millennium. So when it talks about the dead being raised it’s talking about the body but their souls are already with the Lord if they are believers and if they are unbelievers their souls are right now in Hades in the heart of the earth.

Wow. And the Bible is quite clear that Jesus is the… The ruler of heaven and earth and actually also over hell. Satan, you know I used to believe because of the comic strips I guess, that Satan ruled over hell. He doesn’t. He’s the worst punished in hell. That’s right. There are degrees of punishment in hell and Satan is the worst punished of those that go to hell and his angels. And then of course everyone in the human race that has died without Christ will be there forever and ever.

ever and ever. Well it tells us here in verse 29, 28, rather of John chapter 5, it says, Marvel not at this for the hours coming in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice. Talking about Christ. You know, when Christ went to the tomb of Lazarus, The other Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha, he shouted, Lazarus come forth. And at the command of his voice, Lazarus came out of that grave. Jesus Christ is God.

He’s God who took on flesh. The claim is clear in the Bible. The Old Testament prophet, Set in Isaiah 9, 6, this child that would be born would be called Wonderful Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Jesus is the mighty God, He is the everlasting Father. He is God who took on human flesh, the second eternal member of the Godhead. And we find that it is at His voice that the dead will come forth out of the grave speaking of the bodies.

And the saved will come forth first, and then the unsaved will come forth a thousand years later as it says, as we mentioned a moment ago, Revelation 20 verse 5, the rest of the dead, speaking of the unsaved dead, do not come back out of the grave until after the thousand year rule of Christ. But when you believe the words of Christ concerning salvation, God saves you. John 524, Jesus says, verily, verily, or truthfully, truthfully, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, Christ says, and believeth in Him that sent me, that person Christ says, has everlasting life.

That means you possess it right now at the moment you believe. You shall not come into condemnation because Christ was condemned in your place. You will never be condemned as a believer, but it says you’re passed from death unto life. A resurrection has happened already, a spiritual resurrection, where you were spiritually dead. Now you’re raised from the dead spiritually, and then of course, future we deal with the body. That will happen for the believer. In other words, if you died right now, if you’re a believer, that is, you would be absent from the body present with the Lord.

At the event called the Rapture, when Christ comes back to snatch out all the believers on the earth that are living, He will give the resurrection bodies to all the saints of this age from Pentecost the Rapture. And those that transformed into their new bodies on the way up. So let’s say I died today, if I did, my soul and spirit would leave my body, 2 Corinthians 5, 8, I’d be absent from the body, present with the Lord. But my body would be buried, most likely, and returned back to the elements, back to dust from which it came.

But when the rapture would have happened, Christ would bring me back with him because I would be with him in heaven. And I would get a brand new body rising up from the earth that would meet my soul in the air. And then those that are living that have not yet died, that are believers, will be caught up and transformed into their new bodies on the way up to meet the Lord in the air. That’s the way it works out.

Now the unsaved, they’ll be brought up out of Hades according to the Bible in Revelation 20 verse 14. They’ll come up out of Hades, their souls and spirits will. And then their new bodies will rise up and they will be reunited, soul and body. judge According to their works to determine the degree of punishment and hell, and then they’ll be cast body and soul into the eternal lake of fire. Revelation 20 verse 14 describes this as the second death.

It’s the second separation, or death always means separation in the Bible. And the first separation is the separation of your soul from your body, but the second death, which only unbelievers will experience, is the separation of your soul and body from God in hell forever and ever and ever and ever. The good news is, who so ever believeth or trusteth in Christ should not perish, but they would have everlasting life. I’m Dr. England from Mrs. Bibleline. I hope you have trusted Christ as your Savior, and if you haven’t, you need to do that, and I wouldn’t waste another a minute.

Lord, I’m a sinner. Just pray a simple prayer like this, but I trust that Jesus made the payment for my sin by his death and shed blood at the cross was buried and rose again from the dead the moment you trust him. God, I’ve been heaven knows and he saves you. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We have Jim in Clearwater. Jim, welcome to Bible on your own ear. Yes, hi, Dr. Densch. I know what I was wondering if you had mentioned anything about the Jesus to him because you’ve been to yours not so many times.

Oh yeah, the real tomb of Christ is empty. There are no bones there. He took his bones to heaven. He rose bodily, you know, in Acts chapter 1 verses 9 through 11. It says they watched him as after the 40 days that he had taught them after the resurrection. He bodily ascended and they watched him ascend up into heaven. And two angels stood by and said, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so return in like manner as you’ve seen him go.

So his bones are in heaven, his bodies in heaven and he didn’t leave a body in a grave anyplace. So that’s just absolute nonsense. And I just read something from the Jerusalem Post yesterday and 15 top archaeologists in Israel said this is just absolutely baloney. They totally rejected. Okay. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome, Jim, and thank you very much. And yeah, it’s amazing how many attacks there are now, which are, of course, exactly what the Bible predicts would happen.

And we’re seeing attacks on Christianity like we never seen before and on Christ and on the gospel message, the death of the burial resurrection of Christ. And we see the Da Vinci Code was one. We see all these other so-called pseudopigrapher books that are written around the third, fourth century that are absolutely contrary to the scriptures, that teach that Jesus was not God and so on are all being thrown at us today to really cause confusion. We have Matthew in Spring Hill and Matthew, welcome to Bible on the end hi doctor how you doing today i was just wondering um…

i’m in the car right now sorry i can’t directly reference my bible but uh… i’ve been reading in the pollina pissles lately about a lot about being a slave to sin pretty much is what i get from it saying that i really i don’t know i i i just don’t know about it i just would like your advice um… i think what i get from paul is that working in our bodies and changing and taking away sin and you know the accused are inside of us and we are slaves to Christ because you know even Christ says we are not.

We are some kind of noise in the background, I don’t know if it’s on your phone or whatever, but but Romans chapter 6 really does explain that Matthew and of course as long as we’re in this body. We are servants to this body which is associated with our sin nature and we can have victory over our sin nature which Paul tells us in this chapter. It is based upon our yielding ourselves to obey the Lord and it is a continual thing day by day, moment by moment where we yield ourselves to obey the Lord and we do not yield ourselves to our sin nature.

It says here… In verse 12 of chapter 6, let not therefore sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey it in the lust thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield rather yourselves unto God, and as those that were raised from the dead, and your members should then be instruments of righteousness unto God. So basically it’s a matter of choice and we are completely free from being influenced by our sin nature but we will still sin but we don’t have to let sin rule in our life and we don’t have to commit the big crimes but certainly there are sins of thought that we can’t perhaps avoid coming into our minds but like somebody said you don’t have to you can’t stop a bird from landing on your head but you can stop him from building this there so

you obviously get get victory over right away and and dismiss those evil thoughts okay thank you doctor i like that answer good thank you very much mathy for calling in and uh… we’re going to go now to uh… mike in north port florida and mike welcome to buy one year on the air yes morning dr lintstrom uh… i want thank you for your ministry it’s blessed me for a few years now uh… i have a question about catholicism basically how we got it started what the differences are uh…

you know between that true christianity and uh… if you could just explain that to me and like how it got its break apart like the uh… when martin looser did his thing uh… if you can shed some light on that forming and appreciate it. Okay, a little brief synopsis is, where Christianity began to grow and so on, we find that in the fourth century, Constantine, the city of Istanbul, which was called Constantinople after Constantine’s name, was the center of Christianity.

At that time, he declared the whole world to be Christian. But then a couple centuries later, about the fifth or sixth centuries, there was a break and you have the western branch of Christianity and the eastern branch of Christianity that still exists to this day. The western branch was called the Roman Catholic meeting universal church and the eastern universal or Catholic church and we find that those branches still exist today. But in the West, they began to accept tradition over the Bible.

That was a major thing that happened, particularly probably about the 8th century on, where tradition ruled. The Roman Catholic Church has claimed that Peter was the first pope and they have this Apostolic succession. Why is it true at all? Not only did Peter not claim to be the first pope, we find that when the early church met in Acts 15, James presided not Peter, and that Peter definitely did not have that role. Plus, there is no apostolic succession, and certainly the church, the Roman church didn’t exist till around the sixth century.

That’s when they really can kind of claim that they have some kind of continuance. But they have assumed that they have the right because of this apostolic authority to do whatever they want to do and change the rules as they go. And the Roman Catholic Church is constantly changing their rules. You know, it wasn’t too many years ago that if you ate meat on Friday, that was a mortal sin and you’d go to hell. And all of a sudden now they’ve changed the rules and it’s not a mortal sin now to eat meet on Friday.

And isn’t that a shame that people up until about 40 years ago or 30 years ago went to hell because they meet on Friday, but now they don’t. Of course that’s not true at all, that’s completely wrong. And other doctrines like purgatory are man-made and these teachings are absolutely contrary to the Bible. The whole concept of penance is contrary to the Bible. And many of these doctrines of course came through into the Protestant churches at the time of Martin Luther when he brought to light, Salvation by Faith.

Martin Luther was a Roman Catholic priest. He had a doctorate of divinity degree and in 1553 he had gotten saved. He recognized that the church was obviously teaching so many things contrary to the Bible. He tagged his theses on the church door of Wittenberg, Germany and it started the Reformation point by faith and not by the church, saving us and so on and so on. And so basically tradition is the difference. We have to go to the Bible’s authority.

If you do that you’re always going to come out nice and clean. But if you go to tradition, traditions change and they kind of wiggle around and they develop little uniquenesses about them. And obviously the Bible warns about that and Clausians 2 8 says, be where? Let’s then He man seduce you through tradition and so on and so on which would lead us away from the Bible and what it says. So that’s basically it. And does it have the Lord’s Supper and about taking that into repetition and something about that’s why the church sleeps and is dead?

Well, I don’t know if you can mix a few things up there, but it talks about repetitious being wrong, that we’re not prayer’s conversation. And God never intended for us to just give a repetitious prayer as so many do, and they just recite a prayer over and over and over and over again. Whereas the Lord tells us that it’s just talking to him and it’s conversation and he wants us to have an intimacy with himself as a believer. We can have that.

That’s for I have so many good, good meaning, Catholic friends that I’d like to witness to in minutes or two. And there’s just so many differences that I find in their traditions and in the Bible and the truth. We’re going to have to go to break and we’ll talk about this in a few more minutes. Let’s take a break and we’ll come back and deal with that. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771.

That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund Sturman. This is Bibleline. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in. This is the last date this month. Have you thought about giving a gift to Bibleline and helping us out? We can sure use your help. And whatever you’re going to do, if you want to help us this month and we could use your help. Give us a call, you can give a gift by credit card over the phone and or you can mail your gift today and help us out.

And of course that’s another month where each day really and each week and each month we’re going to be held accountable one day before the Lord as to what we’ve done. And here’s an opportunity to invest something for the Lord and you can give a gift to my mind and help us. Please put us on your prayer list for sure. And we know that our listeners are that link that keeps this program going because we are totally dependent upon our listeners to keep the program going.

If you ever hear us go off the air, it’s probably because we didn’t have the support that we needed from our listeners to be able to continue. So pray for us that the Lord continue to raise up listeners who appreciate the program and if you can send a regular gift no gift is too small if every believer would offer a little bit up it would help us to take care of all the expenses and make sure that we stay on the air each and every day.

Don’t forget to check out our internet site there’s so much there for you to look at and so much for you to benefit from our programs are there. You can listen to them whenever you want. Our worship service is now available and you can watch that anytime of the week you want. If you want, just click on that camera on the home page. Also, there’s an online bookstore. We have a lot of wonderful resources and we have a great book called Understanding Roman Catholicism that really simplifies the Roman Catechism into 37 basic doctrines and then shows the Scriptures versus the Catechism and you’ll find that very, very…

Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We hope that you’ll take a look at our Resource Center and notice the different Bibles and Concordances and videos and CDs and teachings that I’ve done that will really help you learn your Bible. We hope you’ll listen every day and tell your friends about the program and help us grow the Bibleline program. We hope you’ll listen as often as you can. We’re going to join the stations that have been on break due to the second half.

If your station doesn’t carry it, go to the Internet and catch the full program. But we’re going to about ready to do a second half hour and we want you to stay with us as we join the stations that have on break. But you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break, and this is my blind, Dr.

Englundstrom, and we’re coming to you from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor. And we look forward to being with you each and every day, and I hope you enjoy being with us as we talk about the Word of God and answer your questions. We just had Mike on the line just a moment ago, and we have a wonderful resource here, Center and we have a book called Understanding Roman Catholicism which is excellent.

It takes the difficult complicated Roman Catholic Catechism and reduces it down to the 37 basic doctrines, gives you the quotes and then shows you quotes from the Bible for each of them and you can really get to the heartbeat of what is the differences between the Bible in the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Catechism and we recommend that highly. Plus we have numerous other resources that will help you when witnessing to someone our book, handbook on personal evangelism, has a whole chapter on how to witness to a Roman Catholic, how to witness to somebody in just a Protestant denomination, how to witness to your family, how to witness to an evolutionist, an atheist, an agnostic, and a cult member, and so on.

It really is powerful. And I don’t think there’s a better book out there on how to lead people to Christ. We appreciate all of you who pray for and give to Bible and if you haven’t given, you could send a gift today or you could call and give a gift by credit card that would help us get out of this short month. And if you would like to help us send us a gift today or call in and give one by credit card today over the telephone.

Again, I’m Dr. Englund Strem and we’re coming to you from Tampa. And thank you for joining our show and we’re going to go to some of more of the callers. Here we have Denzel in Pinellas Park, Florida and Denzel, welcome to Bible Health. Hello, Dr. Lynch. From my appreciates to taking my call. You’re welcome. I wanted to talk, I’m a fairly new believer, and I’ve been reading the Bible and stuff and some close friends that are all… I listen to them all and listen to a lot of things, but one thing that I’ve realized is that charismatic movement, okay, there’s a lot of people who are a part of it, and I know one thing about it is the whole speaking of tongues, Okay, and now I know in like 1 Corinthians 13, 8, you know, I’ve got my Bible right here.

I’m reading from it. It says charity never fail us, but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail, whether there be tongues, they shall cease, whether there be knowledge it will vanish away. But it charismatic, like pastors that read from the Bible, they read a lot from, you know, where it says like, for he that speaketh in an unknown tongue, speaketh not unto men but unto God, for no man understandeth him how bit in the spirit he speaketh history. And that’s really talking about the real gift and the misuse of it in the wrong place where as in Corinth they should have been speaking Greek.

They were speaking in a foreign language that the people didn’t understand, so they were speaking to God because he understands every language, but they weren’t speaking to the congregation there so nobody in the congregation understood them because they were speaking the wrong language and that’s not what’s going on today though the gibberish today The Bible is not the biblical gift at all. They are not reading chapter 14 very correctly because it says in verse 9 that the tongue was given.

It says, except you speak by the tongue words, easy to be understood. How shall it be known when it is spoken? You just speak into the air. So the real gift was to communicate and should have been words that would be easily understood by the hearer. The Corinthians had the problem with just showing off their gift and using a foreign language. Nobody in the congregation understood and Paul was correcting them. So verse 2 of 1 Corinthians 14 does not prove anything.

And then also in verse 22, it says that tongues was a gift as a sign to unbelievers, not to believers. So it was to be used with unbelievers. And that’s not happening today at all. It was to be used for evangelism. I always challenge. And I’ve never had any takers yet to go with me and I’ll get a crowd at the mall or some place and then introduce that person and let them do their gibberish and if it’s the real gift we’re going to have revival and I’ll even buy a mistake dinner afterward.

I’ve never had anybody want to go with me and use their gibberish out in public because they know that it’s not going to be assigned unbelievers. It’s a counterfeit today. That’s totally something that’s not I’ve got it all. Okay, I have a friend of mine gave me a book that says how to explain the modern date tongues phenomenon. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but book is quite… I haven’t read… I haven’t read… Who wrote it?

It’s by Dr. Dennis Corley. No. No. Not familiar with that. The book we have here is the New Testament teaching on tongues by Merle Unger. Very excellent. He’s a scholar and actually takes chapters 12, 13 and 14 of Corinthians. and exegites them or exposes the meaning there, which is really clear that there’s just no wiggle room at all that what’s being done today is not the gift. Right. Well, thank you very much, sir. All right. Thank you for calling in.

We now have Frank in Winter Haven, Florida, and Frank, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes. Hi. I have a question for you, Dr. that it’s about salvation, and I know it’s very clear. But I… I happen to know somebody that continues fidelity and they had repented their sins of continue to do that. I have several passages that talk about Noah’s, everyone before Noah they got wiped off of the face of the earth. face of the earth and then trying to think of the three verses that are coming up.

Then I guess it’s the verse of, I’m just calling it blank here. I’m not going to blink here. But anyway, clearly for Sodom and Gomorrah, I guess it was a lot. And then there’s another one. It just talks to me full of yourself. if you think God’s not going to get you. So even if you are a believer. Well, absolutely. And the Bible very clearly teaches that God disciplines believers. And in Hebrews 12, 8, it says if you be without discipline, where of all believers are partakers, it says you’re a bastard and not a son.

So in other words, if you could live as you pleased after you got saved without God interfering in your life in disciplining you that it would prove that you are not a believer at all that you’re illegitimately claiming to be a child of God when indeed you’re an illegitimate child you’re not really a christian or believer at all and uh… you are bastard as it says in the Hebrews twelve eight pretty powerful passage When you tell them that they say, oh, so I’m not saved and I have pointed out that I don’t think that they are.

And they get very angry and of course you know. you know that it affects them so i mean it’s kind of uh… to see them continue to walk this way. I know how, you know, my testimony as I ran from the dark when I accepted Christ and never looked back, you know. And I don’t want to go back there, so. Well, obviously the Lord, if they are genuinely saved, we’ll definitely deal with them and they’ll have an accounting to do when they stand before the Lord one day.

because we’ll all be judged according to what we’ve done. Good or bad, 2nd Corinthians 5 and 10 says, we must all appear before the judge’s date of Christ that everyone may receive the things done in his body according to that which you have done, whether it be good or bad that it has to do with rewards. And so it’s all going to come up one day. And there’s nothing that will be done by anybody that’s going to be hidden and not exposed by the Lord when He comes back.

So the Bible says that Christ said what you’ve done in the secret will be shot from the housetop. So it’s going to come out and one day you’ll be accountable for it. Okay. Well, thank you very much, Dr. Hank. All right. Thank you. And as Frank in Winter Haven, Florida, we have Robert in Pompano Beach, Florida. And Robert, welcome to Bibleline. Hey, Dr. Lindstrom. How are you? I have a question. I have a quick question for you. I got into an argument with a friend of mine yesterday.

He’s a Catholic, and I was listening to a gentleman previously talking about Catholics. It was about when the pilgrims came to the United States. Are they the ones that brought Christianity to the United States, would you say? Well, you know, all those early settlers did. They’re not all were called pilgrims, but yeah, they sure did. Now I kind of had heard, I think you say that a few programs back that you thought that it was that they were running away from Catholicism from England, is that right?

From all of Europe, yeah. The Roman Catholic Church during the time of the Reformation was coming down hard on those that became saved and those people were persecuted and tortured and many hundreds of thousands of them were killed and so yeah they were like rats jumping off a sinking ship. They needed to flee Europe to come to America so they could have religious freedom. Exactly. He said that it was not Catholicism, that it was a break off and it was a Protestant sect that was doing that, that there was a fight between the Protestants and they’re That’s why they came over, but I was trying to tell them that it was not that, that it was Catholicism.

That’s right. It was Catholicism. And you just have to go back and read history. It’s amazing how people don’t know their history anymore. But, you know, in 1492 when Columbus sailed the Ocean Blue, that same year Spain kicked all the Jews out of Spain and everybody had to be Roman Catholic in that country and if you didn’t profess that then you were in big trouble and the Spanish Inquisition was responsible for killing thousands and thousands of people. That was an terrible time, yeah.

It was awful, yeah. And obviously Spain at that time was a world power, but I think God took them down where now they, you know, they’re not a superpower anymore, but they were, at that time, they ruled the seas with their ships and the influence you can see across all the Americas. at that time they really influenced the whole world but they lost it once they turned against the truth and against the Jewish people as well. I think cursing the Jew really probably did them in because God says if you curse the Jew then you’ll be cursed.

Do you have anything in your resource center Dr. Lynch from that would I could buy to show him what happened back then or is it better to go to encyclopedia or something like that? Well, we have a couple of things. Fox’s book of martyrs will really just open your eyes as to all the martyrs that have come down through time and how Rome has been a major player, not only with the Roman Caesars persecuting Christians, but then later even the political religious system of Roman Catholicism killing Christians from the time of the Reformation on.

Yeah, we got several. So why don’t we call one of our operators and they’ll be glad to help you. Oh, OK. I can go to the internet and get that. You can also get on the internet. You sure can. And I’m going to try to help you out with the donation. Thank you very much, Dr. Limson. OK, Robert. Thank you. And. That was Robert in Pompano Beach, Florida. We have Ken now in Largo, Florida. Ken, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Good morning. I’m curious. I’ve been reading about the Holy Spirit has been given in three different times to the Jews, to the Sumerians and to the Gentiles, and I’m curious why or is that true or am I just confused or why it’s three different times and I’ll hang up and listen. Well, the gospel went out from Jerusalem. The plan was Christ said in Acts 1 8, you’re going to receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem and Judea, in Samaria, and unto the edimah’s parts of the earth.

And in the book of Acts, you see how that really took place. You have the gospel given there in Jerusalem, and then you have Philip taking the gospel to Samaria, and Peter and John coming there, and you see them getting saved and they receive the Holy Spirit as everybody lever in this age receives the Holy Spirit and then of course you see in Caesarea Cornelius getting the gospel and it’s clearly a Gentile a Roman soldier from Italy in here that’s the gospel moving out now to the world and you see Paul getting saved, he really became the real apostle to the Gentiles and spread the gospel all over Asia Minor.

And finally of course wound up himself in Rome and writing many of the epistles that we read, the prison epistles from Rome to us. So you see basically the gospel going forth, but there’s no mystery there. It’s simply as people got saved they received the Holy Spirit. every believer in this age receives the Holy Spirit at the moment you believe. But you see the plan of evangelism for the world that Christ gave at Acts 1 8 enacted out in the book of Acts as you see the gospel moving out to Samaria and then finally out to the Gentiles.

And finally the book of Rome, but rather the book of Acts ending in Rome with Paul in prison and his execution and so on. And the gospel had reached into the very palace of Caesar because the guards that guarded Ro Paul also were working and doing duty in the Caesar’s palace. Thank you Ken. We appreciate your call. We have some off-air questions here. We might as We’ll try to take a couple of those while we have a chance here.

The phone number if you want to call in 1-800-576-3771. Rick and Tampa calls in a current news release. They said, the Lenten season is a time where Catholics honor the 40-day fast of Jesus. Our Christians commanded to fast anywhere in the Bible. First of all, Lent is pagan and is not at all related to the 40-day fast of Christ when he began his ministry. But we are not really commanded to fast, but we do fast all the time and certainly that’s something that we can do.

But when you go to sleep at night, you don’t eat till morning and the first meal you eat is called break fast, breakfast. And so we always fast. And I fast, but not as anything to brag about or whatever. I always try to eat several hours before I speak. So my mind is clear. You know, if you try to do anything significant using your mind when you are on a full stomach, You can’t concentrate because you get sleepy as your body is concentrating on digesting that food.

So that’s really what it’s all about. And Lent has to do with Baal worship and is pagan and it goes all the way back to Genesis chapter 10 and is forbidden in the Bible. So certainly Lent is not a Christian event. and it’s amazing how many people have bought into Lent when there is no Lent in your Bible. And thank you, Rick, for that question. John, in St. Peterborough calls in with this offer of question, why can’t we add anything to God’s grace and be saved?

And the answer is because you make grace void if you do that. Romans 11, 6 says, if by grace, then it is no more of works, otherwise grace is no more grace. So grace by definition is the absence of any works or any human merit. But the second half of Romans 11, 6 really is powerful where it says, but if it be of works. Then it is no more of grace. Otherwise work is no more work. What it’s saying is that grace works for opposites.

And if you try to be saved by any work, then you’ll have no grace, which if you have no grace from God, you’ll go to hell. Because it’s only by grace that we’re saved. As it says in Ephesians 2 8 by grace, are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves. It’s the gift of God. Not of works, let’s send you in. She boasts. God’s grace is described in the Bible. Usually right there it also makes a statement that works or excluded.

For example, in Ephesians 2 8 it says 4 by grace are you saved through faith in Jesus Christ. All right we’re saved by grace, by His mercy, by His unmerited flavor. The very next phrase negates any works. It says and that not of yourselves. So this salvation is not of yourself. Then it says again, salvation is the gift of God and Ephesians 2a. And that is of course by grace. But then the next phrase says, this salvation is not of works, lest any man should boast.

So wherever you look, you can find verse after verse, wherever you talk about grace, you also find at the same time grace is exclusive of any works. And so all works are excluded. If If you add any works to it, it becomes no longer a race and therefore you’ll not make heaven. That’s the whole point is that you either have to be saved by grace or you’re going to try to be saved by works and there’s no middle ground.

We have Reggie in Largo, Florida calling in and Reggie, welcome to Vimaline. Oh, thank you for taking my call. My question is, Pastor, is there any place in Christian teaching today on numerology? Some take great stress in this and others don’t regard to it at all But I’m just wondering is there any place for in the sense? I know that some people put Time lying on Christ return which I know in Revelation that says, you know, no time But there’s other things that numbers of you know, they add up in there and there any place for that or is that?

I think so I think you need to be careful though because you can you know good go beyond where you need to go but The numbers in the Bible do have significance, and obviously two is the number of division, and three is the number that certainly is associated with the tri unity of God, and so on and so on. And there’s a lot of numbers in the Bible that seem to make significance. that 13 is always associated with Satan or the devil.

And I think that’s because perhaps it first developed because of the 12 disciples in Christ when all were together, where 13 of them, one of them, was actually indwelt by Satan, Judas was, and so the 13th member became that one. So a lot of people were very superstitious about 13 and about its connection with evil and so on. on. That’s where it came from. How do I see it? And you know, it’s quite quite coincident, I’m sure, but the 13th chapter of the book Revelation deals with Satan and his influence through two men, the beast, the end of Christ and the false prophet, both of which will be empowered by him in the future tribulation period.

So it actually turns out to be the 13th chapter. It’s a lot to enjoy about that, but when you try to force it and try to make everything stand on your numerology, then you might have gone off too far. But it’s kind of fascinating. Yeah, I see. What other quick questions about mine too? Your church is Calvary Community Church. And to explain that to me, I come from a We’re an independent church. We are not linked to any other churches or denominations.

We founded ourselves to be independent of that. So, we just chose the name Calvary because of Jesus dying in the cross of Calvary and we chose the word community because we wanted to be open to everybody. I’m a statistic in my background and where I come from of course, they’re just so they don’t meet your dumb animations when I got saved. I come out of a liberal denomination but my concern was of course what doctorately, how they are and in relationship to we’ll say, a baptistic doctor.

Could you explain that to me or my off and off? I stand in relationship to that. I’m probably around on the same page with you then because generally that’s exactly where I stand. Baptists believe in internal security and I certainly believe in that and salvation by faith in Christ and so on and evangelism and all those things I endorse as well and believe. My doctoral statement, you can go on my website and look under beliefs that matter and articles are written and you’ll get a pretty good.

Dr. St. Pete’s Good statement there about what I believe. One more quick question. Coming from St. Pete’s Franklin Causeway, you said your church is near the airport. Where would I take it? Well if you come over and come to the airport, whether you come over on Hillsborough Hillsborough Avenue, you know, from, or across 60, it has come, and when you bump into the airport, you need to go north on independence or memorial, and we’re right there directly west of the airport.

So. Okay, thank you for your time. All right, thank you for calling in today, and I hope everyone listening is trusted Jesus. If you haven’t, just say, Lord, I’m a sinner, I can’t save myself and I trust Jesus right now and his death in shed blood is the means of my salvation I trust that he was crucified and buried and rose again from the dead and I trust him as my only hope of heaven and The moment you do God will save you.

You can actually tell your friends the web address and get your friends to tune in. We have a church member that just went home to Ghana in West Africa and he’s got a lot of family and friends tuning into ByBlind over there in the Ivory Coast of Africa. And passing on a lot of tracks right now, he’s already running out of tracks I understand but isn’t that great that we have the opportunity today better than ever to be able to travel quickly to other parts of the world and reach people through the internet and broadcast and all these things and That’s what we’re doing here with Bibleline.

And of course, some of the things cost more than others, but they’re all opportunities to get the gospel out. Maybe you’d like to help us and partner with us because really we don’t have the resources to do everything we’d like to do and accomplish with getting the gospel out to this world. But we could use your help. If you’d like to help us as February is closing out today, you could send a gift by mail or a gift. you can call our 800 number and give a gift by credit card.

We look forward to being with you every day. We really mean that and hopefully our program is a blessing to you and hopefully you’re learning and growing as a result of being challenged and that’s what my mind is all about. And if that’s a ministry that’s blessing you, would you consider helping us out by allowing us to be able to continue this ministry through your generous gifts. Look it up, Jesus is coming, we’ll be back tomorrow Lord willing and have a great day.
