Now join us for Dr. Lynchton’s teaching for today as we turn to the Book of Matthew, Chapter 7. I gave many full assemblies at Tampa Catholic High School and they had the hosted buddy in the gym and all the priests and nuns were there and the principal there, Sister Julie liked me. And so she gave me carte blanche approval to do whatever I wanted.

I went in and gave the gospel a hand gesture invitation to everything else and I saw a priest, know, wanting to get me in the tar and feather me in, but the principal was right there and they didn’t dare cross this sister Julie. She was tough. But I was in. And you know, I got to give the message. But I know that the priests and nuns didn’t like the message I gave because it wasn’t what the Catholic Church taught.

But the Lord allows sometimes the message to get in and people do get saved in spite of the Church. But the Church is teaching a false message and you simply have to ask. Are you saved by works or are you saved by Christ? And it’s interesting, although they talk about Christ, they teach you saved by works. Then Christ wasted his time. Then he died on the cross in vain. The Bible says, if you could be saved by your works, then Christ died in vain.

His death was wasted. Why did he have to die if you could have earned your way to heaven? was a terrible waste, wasn’t it? If that was it. Verse 24, therefore, who is here with these things of mind and do with them? If you believe on Christ, he will be saved, and then if you live for Christ, he will be rewarded. It is all like in him unto a wise man who builds his house upon a rock. The rock is of course what?

Christ. And we have Christ as our rock that we are built upon. And the rains descend, the floods come, and the winds blow, beat upon that house and it didn’t fall. Why? It was found on a rock. Once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. Nothing can blow you down or take you off the rock once you’ve trusted Christ that you have the rock. He is the rock. Verse 26, but everyone that here are these things of mine and do with them not, if you reject what he says and don’t believe on Christ, then you’re going to be lost and you’ll be likened unto a foolish man who It builds his house upon the sand.

What happens? The rain descends, the floods came, the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell. And great was the fallout. You saw that during the recent hurricane, didn’t you? People building their house on the sand, right on the beaches. The big waves came rolling in. These houses were just lifted up off of the sand and crashed and torn apart. And obviously, we see examples of that all the time. foolish to build your house on sand like that, because the winds will come and blow your house down.

And of course, if you don’t know Christ, then you are lost and lost forever. Verse 28, it came to pass when Jesus ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine. They were just astonished. taught them as having authority. And not as the scribes. The scribes always had to quote the scriptures and relied upon the authority of the prophets and what the Word of God had said. Christ spoke directly because when he speaks it’s God who’s speaking Jesus Christ is God.

And so they were amazed that he taught differently than others. And as you read the Bible you’ll see that. Everybody is quoting the scriptures when Christ says, Verily, Verily, I say unto you. He that believe it’s my word. and believeth on him that sent me has everlasting life. And you’ll not come into condemnation, but you’re passed from death in the life. Jesus spoke as God, and when Jesus speaks, you better listen, because he is God. Alright. Chapter 8 verse 1, when he was come down from the mountain, a great multitude followed him, and behold there came a leper and worshipped him.

We find Christ being worshiped rightfully so because he’s God. And the leper saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. He believed that Jesus could heal him and he says it’s up to you. If you will, you can heal me. You can make me clean. Jesus put forth his hand and touched him saying, I will be thou clean. And notice the word immediately. His leprosy was cleansed. You follow them modern day healings and they say it’s going to take time and they’re not completely healed.

The biblical healings were immediate on the spot. There was no time element involved. And you can see the counterfeit today where they don’t have immediate whole and complete healings as Jesus did. Verse 4 also Jesus said tonight I want you to tell about your healing on national television and I want I also quote you in my book, How I Healed in the Land of Galilee. And notice what it says in the Bible. I made all that up by the way.

So people are looking at me like, whoa. It says, see that you tell no man. Notice Jesus wasn’t trying to get publicity. He wasn’t healing to try to get fame. Christ simply healed because He cared. And the modern day healers the opposite. They want to do it on national television. want you to be in their books and they want to make every bit of out of it as they can in a way of publicity. See that you told no man, but go your way, show thyself to the priest and offer the gift that Moses commanded as a testimony unto them.

If you had contagious disease like leper, say you were quarantined under the Old Testament law. And after you became clean or healed, you would go before the priest and he would proclaim that you’re clean and then you could read our society. He’s saying, do what Moses told you to do. Go to the priest, have him proclaim that you’re now healed and give a gift as you ought to to the Lord as you go. Verse 5, and when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, that was the fisherman village of Peter.

It’s as there came unto him a centurion. A centurion is a Gentile. He’s a Roman soldier. He’s a pretty important fella. He has a hundred soldiers under him. And so here’s a Roman soldier doing duty in Israel and he besetches him and says, Lord, my servant, life at home sick of the palsy, he’s grievously tormented and Jesus said unto him I will come and heal him. And then the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou should come under my roof, but speak the word only and my servant shall be healed.

For I am a man under authority and I have soldiers under me. And I say to this man, go and he goes and another come and he He comes and I say to my servant, do this and he does it. When Jesus heard it, he marveled and said unto him that followed. Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no not in Israel. Isn’t that amazing? Here was a man who understood chain of command and authority and he said, you don’t have to come to my house.

If you can heal, you can do it from right here. He didn’t have to go to the man’s house. He just says, give the command and my servant will be healed. And Christ marveled at the faith of this Gentile. He said, I haven’t seen that kind of faith among those of Israel. And then he says, I say unto you that many shall come from the east and the west and shall sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom.

That’s the millennium. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast in the outer darkness and there shall be weeping in the ash of teeth. Now the children of the kingdom are the ones to whom the kingdom was promised, the Jewish people. But many of those to whom the kingdom was promised will not enter because they won’t have faith to trust Christ. But there will be Gentiles who will have faith and trust Christ as Savior and they’ll be invited into the millennium and sit there along with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom.

So even though you might be Jewish in descent, if you’re not Jewish in faith, believing as Abraham and Isaac and Jacob did in the coming Savior, you’ll not enter in. in her end, but Gentiles who believe in Christ will enter in. Jesus said to the centurion, go thy way, as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee, and his servant was healed in the same hour. Boom. So Jesus never went to the man’s house, but he healed the man at a distance.

Certainly Jesus has the power to do that. There’s 14. And when Jesus was coming to Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s wife’s mother. Peter had a mother-in-law. Peter had My wife, now what about the Catholic Church? It teaches that Peter was never married and the priest aren’t to get married. You know, there’s some gaping differences between Catholicism and the Bible and obviously Peter was married. He had a mother-in-law. You know, get one of those things unless you get married. Okay?

Good resist. But it says here, when Jesus was coming to Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid sick of a fever, he touched her hand and the fever left her and she rose, arose and ministered unto them. You’re listening to Bible Eye, a teaching ministry that’s dedicated to delivering the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are many items available from our resource center, such as Dr. Hank Lindstrom’s DVD Teachings on the topics of simplicity, belief versus unbelief.

is inviting Jesus into your heart false in addition to many others when you call 1-800-576-3771. Now we’re going to take a break from our teaching to listen to Dr. Lindstrom answering questions from callers and then we’ll rejoin today’s teaching. We’re now going to go to Michael in Riverview and Michael welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Thank you. My question is today is that about the baptism. I know that there are several types of baptism. Is that I want to find out.

Well, I believe you ought to be water baptized as a believer, but not to earn salvation or be a part of it, but as a testimony, it’s it’s a way of outwardly expressing the fact that you’ve been cleansed of your sin by the blood of Christ. It marks the new beginning of life that you have as a believer in Christ that now you can live for Christ and earn rewards in heaven and really represent the Lord here in this world.

And I baptize people every year. We baptize some just a couple of weeks ago. I baptized 12 this year in Israel in the Jordan River by immersion. And it’s a testimony. But water does not save. Nobody’s ever been saved by water baptism. Right. It’s a symbol. Now, I also want to know that this back in Matthew 28 talks about I’m going to talk about good and the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. So I need to know the difference and what is the set difference between what Peter says and what’s the difference.

That’s a big argument. Yeah, I think that’s an argument that goes nowhere. If you’ll notice Matthew 20, 19, it says, baptize them in the name singular of the father of the son, the Holy Spirit. They all have the same name. Jesus is Jehovah or Yahweh. The father is Jesus or other is Jehovah or Yahweh. And the Holy Spirit is Jesus or Yahweh. They all have the same name. And I think that’s just not an argument worth going into. I baptize saying in the name of the father of the son, and the Holy Spirit.

But some just say I baptized you in the name of Jesus, which I don’t think it makes a good difference. You’re very welcome and God bless you. Thank you for calling in Michael in Riverview, Florida. We now have Phil in Largo, Florida and Phil, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, Dr. Long time I wrote into your website what we would be doing in heaven after the rash or after everything in the Bible has been revealed to us.

I wasn’t anything in there and you had referred me to Revelation 715 where it said that they served him Day and night before the throne in this temple. Is that true? That’s true Okay, exactly. Now, will we serve just and the new Jewish woman and Earth, and will we be expanded throughout the heavens? That I don’t know. We just have to guess at that, but obviously it does tell us that we’ll serve it as Temple Day and night. So, we’ll have things to do that will be very fulfilling and, you know, work is not a curse.

The curse came after the fall in the garden, and they were already, Adam was already given the job of tending to the garden. the garden prior to the curse. And the curse simply made work hard where you’d have to sweat to produce the crop whereas before it was a piece of cake. So we will work in heaven it’s very going to be very satisfying and God will give us jobs that will be very satisfying. Each one of us will enjoy what we’re doing and we’ll keep busy.

Right. I’m aware of all that. I was from the original daily. The thing I was wondering though is that because God is omnipresent and wherever He is we’re going to be, that we’d be able to go through the universe, like not necessarily like Star Trek, but I mean, I think we’ll move it to speed of thought and there could be dimensions there and this type of thing. And I was wondering if we would be limited just to the New Jerusalem and heaven and it wasn’t on that.

I’m sure that would be fine too. I’m sorry. It doesn’t say, but I don’t doubt that we’ll be able to explore the whole universe. That wonderful one other question and that is uh… i believe the rapture could be coming up very soon to i’d jackman and be set up beautiful thing the other night saying that he’s not even looking for the signs anymore you’re looking for the shout could be pleased with so close but uh… do you do you believe the the anti-crisis rise directly after that you will be some time uh…

and also the temple that be both directly after no it was a timeline of the rapture if we believe that the antichrist could be writing soon or whatever. I think things are happening right now that are preparing the way that it happens immediately. As soon as the Rapture happens, the Antichrist then begins to openly move toward trying to grab the world under his power and authority. And the temple stones have already been cut. We might have Gershaun Solomon back here in September.

He’s the man who’s been cutting them since the Six-Day War and he’s got two big cornerstones and we’ve had him here before. But everything’s done. I was just in Israel a couple of months ago. We saw the implements for worship. We saw the menorah. We saw everything. It’s all ready to go. And it’s just a matter of a political decision allowing them to build a temple and it’ll be underway. So I think it happens immediately. There is no time lag or or time break between the rapture and when the events of the tribulation period start happening.

I think we’re already seeing disappe the groundwork played and it’s been happening really over a hundred years. The Jewish people going back becoming a nation sixty years ago and the developments and things in Israel and the things in the world of the nations lining themselves up as they are are all the events that would lead up to the Battle of Armageddon, the price of all of the oil of the pump is causing the nations to focus on that oil and obviously there will be war in the Middle East and we’re seeing it all come together.

all i totally agree yet the one thing i wanted to ask though is that if the when the rapture does happen doesn’t mean any kind of getting noticed because he is able to explain the way that phenomenon yes so he’ll be around and he will be done that’s all we have to be empowered just be a man of great influence and yeah i think it’s a charm and he can explain that away and does not kind of put him on the national scene oh yeah oh yeah i think he’s already on the national scene we might be looking any right now i don’t know who he is but uh…

if we’re close he’s fees already ready to go i think that totally agree okay well thank you very much you have a nice uh… we can love your show thanks a lot fill in uh… largo we now have uh… anonymous from uh… jacks and bill florida anonymous welcome to bible and good morning doctor might have two questions and i’ll hang up and listen first about the bible translation by half one that’s my uh… other map teacher friend gave me it’s a new christian version in the ncv i got the new christian version it put out by mack placato and i’ve been reading and it seems like it’s pretty good it just has a lot of very clear english the way we speak now in america so i compare a lot to the uh…

king james and it seems like it’s okay but i want to know if you don’t think about it written by mack placato i think of the group of men with him that didn’t and thomas nelson publisher second question is uh… What about the part in the Bible where it says that Jesus won’t return and you all be signs we see happening but he won’t come back until the gospel frees to all the world and right now they claim that there’s still remote areas of the jungle places that have not heard the word yet.

So you know you wonder how much longer that would be and as babies keep being born they’ll never hear it. So it seems like you know the gospel doesn’t actually fully get preached to all the world because the newer generations and I’m going to hang up and listen thank you to have a good day sir. Thanks for coming out with new ones all the time and it’s so hard to keep up with everything that’s going on. But as far as the gospel being preached into all the world, if you read that carefully in in Matthew 2414 is talkingIUM about the gospel of the Kingdom.

That’s not being preached now, but after the rapture of the gospel of the Kingdom, the fact that the Kingdom is about to be set up, the Christ will be coming back shortly and ruling right on this earth, that will be preached in all the world. So it’s not even talking about now. That’s really misapplied by many evangelists right now that are trying to tell you that if you give your money and help them spread the gospel into another country or into another the remote area that will speed up the return of Christ.

That’s nonsense. Christ is going to come right on schedule and is really talking there in Matthew 24 of the Gospel of the Kingdom that will be preached, which is not being preached now, into all the world prior to Christ’s second coming. And so that’s what that’s talking about. Thank you for your call, Anonymous in Jacksonville, Florida. We now have Matthew in Spring Hill, Florida, and Matthew, welcome to Bible and You’re on the air. Good morning Hank. I have a question.

There’s a decent amount of people on an online community I’m part of and they believe that angels did ancient tribes and especially the Egyptians in the form of aliens and imparted them knowledge on how to build things, mathematical knowledge, astronomical knowledge. I’m just curious as to your thoughts on angels. If God has anything, I’m not an angel, I’m sorry. What God has to say about the Bible, and if that’s just nonsense, thank you. I think )); it’s all nonsense myself.

ThereFactoryReloaded are angels fallen, and those that are the just or God’s angels. But I don’t believe that there are any other creatures in space except for the ones that God’s created, the cherub, the serub, and the angels as we know them and all the other animal life on the planet and of course man. So I think that is all not true and of course they are just looking for different ways to explain our past without going to the scripture.

And obviously that is man’s way and Satan’s way of course to try to explain things without going to the Word of God. I think that you will not find anything there and that one day they will also discover that that was a rabbit trail that took them in the wrong direction. We now have Anonymous coming to us from Jacksonville, Florida. And Anonymous, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth. Good morning, Dr. Linstram. I have just a quick question. I can answer somebody.

I work sometimes with girls who’ve had abortions and different things. It was asked to me what happens to the babies that are being aborted. I mean, do they go straight to heaven, but are they stillthey had a question. Are they still small like up there babies or are they grown up and they’re big people now and I didn’t know how to answer the girl. So I thought I would just call and ask you what you think about that because I couldn’t find anything in the Bible on it.

So let me hang up and I can hear you better on the radio. Okay. And you have a good day. Thank you for calling in from Jacksonville, Florida. Actually all babies before the age of accountability go straight to heaven. David had a baby and at seven days old the baby died. Second Samuel 1223, David says the baby will not return back to me, but I’ll go to be with my baby. And of course, obviously David was saved and so that baby he would see that baby again in heaven.

Now, all of us in our resurrection bodies will be in the prime of life. So you won’t see a baby as a baby in heaven. They’ll have an adult mature body. About 33 years of age as the Bible says our resurrection bodies will be like Christ’s body. And Christ died at about 33. And when he came back in that same body, he obviously was in appearance in the very prime of life. So if you’re older, you’ll be younger. And if you’re younger, you’ll be older in heaven as far as your physical appearance and the physical body.

So we’ll be recognizable. We’ll know each other and I think a mother will find her children and know who they are, but they’ll be in an adult body. Hope that helps you and we sure do thank you for calling in today. We hope that you’re learning with us. We’re going to turn to the prophet Hosea in the Old Testament. This is written about 800 years BC, 2800 years ago.

And what an amazing passage this is in Hosea chapter 3. I’m going to begin with verse 4 where it says, For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king. It’s interesting that Israel, when her king came, Jesus Christ, the wise men said, Where is he that is born king of the Jews? They knew more than the Jews did about what was going on because they were studying the the Bible, and they saw this star that they believed really fulfilled the prophecy back in the book of Numbers about a star related to the Messiah.

They made the long journey and they came and they said, where is he that is born king of the Jews? And of course, Jesus grew up, became a man and went to the cross, he was rejected by Israel. And so the Bible says that the king would return back to heaven and Israel would abide many days without a king. I believe Hosea 3-4 is a prophecy about the fact that the many days would be about a two thousand year interval between the first coming and the second coming and that Israel would not have a king.

Do you know they do not have a king at this very hour? They have a prime minister, they have a president but they don’t have a king and the Bible predicted they would have by many days two thousand years in fact without a king. And then it says here without a prince they don’t have an heir to the Jewish throne. In order to be heir to the Jewish throne, you’d have to be able to prove your lineage back to King David.

And guess what? All the genealogical records were destroyed in 8070 by the Romans when they came and destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. And so there’s no record except for Jesus. Guess what? His genealogical record is preserved in the Bible. You see it in Matthew chapter 1. You see it in Luke chapter 3. And so there is a prince, but he is Jesus. you know in Isaiah 9 6 it said his name would be called wonderful counselor the mighty God the everlasting father the prince a piece jesus christ is the prince and he’s coming and he will be king of israel during the thousand year reign when he comes and sets up his kingdom the king came was rejected and now israel has been two thousand years without a king just like hosea predicted you know isn’t that amazing this is the coincidence This is God telling the future before it ever happens.

Next it says here, and I’m in Hosea chapter 3, verse 4. It says they would be without a sacrifice. Are you aware of the fact that the Jewish people have not offered a blood sacrifice for 2,000 years? That’s right. In 8070, when the temple was destroyed by the Romans under general Titus, they stopped offering sacrifices because that’s the only legitimate place where they could offer their sacrifice. And so they haven’t offered a sacrifice for 2,000 years, and that is amazing.

If you read your Old Testament, you start off right in the book of Genesis and you have Cain and Abel and they both bring a sacrifice. And throughout the Old Testament, sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice, that’s all you read about. And guess what? Here the prophet Hosea, 800 years plus before the sacrifices stopped, predicted that Israel would be many days without a king, without a prince, and without a sacrifice. Incredible. Are you getting goosebumps on your arms? I get excited because I know the Bible is the Word of God and the reason why I know it’s the Word of God is it tells the future before it happens and it never misses.

Where is it wrong here? They haven’t had a king for 2,000 years. They haven’t had a prince for 2,000 years. They haven’t had a sacrifice for 2,000 years. It goes on to say here that they would not have images and Israel was a nation full of images and idols. What happened when they came out of Egypt? Moses goes up into Mount Sinai and boy they got antsy they couldn’t stand still and they said Aaron Aaron Oh, Aaron the brother of Moses.

Make us a God and they gave him gold and all their jewels and he melted that and made a golden calf. Remember that? They worshiped that golden idol. Well, down through history, Israel has been guilty of making idols and worshiping these idols. Read your Old Testament. It’s everywhere, everywhere you look. And yet the Bible said they would be without images. For the past 2000 years, they have been clean. I have attended many synagogues. Orthodox and Conservative and reformed and you know they’re without images You will walk in and you’ll look around and you will not find an image of anybody in the synagogue They just do not do it Anyway, we are going to go back to the stations that have been on break into the second half hour of Bible And so we’re going to do Bible and in the second half hour right now

You like to help Bibleline continue in your area you can just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And now back to Bibleline. Welcome back from the break. We hope that you’re learning with us as you listen to Bibleline and hear real life questions with scriptural answers from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Please make plans to join us and open your Bible as we also present in-depth studies covering a variety of biblical topics. Now let’s return to our question and answer segment and then you’ll hear more Bible teaching from Dr.

Hank Lindstrom. We’re now going to go to Ann in Lake Mary Florida and Ann welcome to Bibleline you’re on the earth. Well thank you very much for taking my call. Good morning. Good morning. I’ve gone to many religions, many churches in my pursuit of truth. My question that I never really seemed to get a satisfying answer about is, I understand why Jesus got right because it was that resurrection that really gave credence to or told Messiah. Why is there a need for resurrection if mankind’s ultimate destination is either heaven or hell or in some cases the capital’s Korean limbo.

Well there is no purgatory limbo, those are invented doctrines, but obviously we’re gonna lose this body and we’re gonna get new bodies. The saved will get their new bodies at the return of Christ, the unsaved will get their new bodies after the Millennial Kingdom is over when they’re brought up out of Hades and they’re reunited, soul and body, and then cast in that body into hell. This body would not withstand hell, but apparently the body that the loss will get one day we’ll be able to withstand the flame and torment of hell forever and ever and ever.

And of course we who get our resurrection bodies, these bodies will exist forever and they’ll be perfect and they’ll be our servants. Whereas right now oftentimes we’re serving our body when we feel the need to eat, we run to the refrigerator and when we get hot we run inside the air conditioning and so on and our bodies dictate a lot of what we do. But in heaven, that will not be true. Our bodies will be slaves to us and do whatever we decide that we want to do.

And it’s going to be wonderful. Well, I appreciate 528 and 29 brings out that the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice, meaning the voice of Jesus, and come out. doesn’t that indicate that it would be an earthly resurrection that they would be in their tombs? Well, the new bodies will spring forth from the earth, but what that passage does it reveal is the time interval between the two. If you read Revelation 20, it talks about the saved dead, getting their resurrection bodies first, and then it says the rest of the dead live not again until a thousand years were finished.

Revelation 20 verse 5. So the unsaved end get their resurrection bodies a thousand years after the saved do and they will come forth out of the planet earth. So if God needs the very same molecules that were part of your body here now to resurrect and to be a part of your new body I don’t know but if he did I think it’s no problem for him and he’s going to do that. Well, thank you for your help. Okay.

The new body will be physical and it will therefore it will come forth from the earth. And I believe that’s the answer. Have you trusted Christ as your Savior? There’s only one way to be saved. Only one way to go to heaven and that is Jesus himself. Jesus said in John 14, 6, I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. No man cometh unto the Father, But by me, no man, no woman, no child, no one can come to the Father except by Jesus Christ.

If you reject Christ, my friend, you have no chance because there’s no other way. There’s no other way. Peter said it so clearly at Acts 4, 12. He said, neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven, given among men whereby we must be saved. Most churches teach works for salvation. It’s sometimes very subtle, but you have to do something to be saved according to most churches when the Bible says you can do nothing.

It’s not of yourself that our best righteous deeds are filthy rags inside of God Isaiah 64, 6. And you have nothing to offer God. I have nothing to offer God. You don’t either. I don’t care who you are. I don’t care where you attend or what you do. You don’t have a thing to offer God. The Bible says your best, brightest deeds are filthy rags in the sight of God. You have to come just as you are. You have to simply recognize your need that you’re lost and headed for hell and you need a Savior.

Jesus Christ is that one and when you come to Him by faith trusting that He made the full payment for your sin was buried and rose again from the dead God saved you. most important decision you’ll ever make in your life. I hope you’ve made that decision to trust Christ and Savior. You can do it right now. You can whisper a prayer. You could say something like as follows. I got on the center. Admit it, we all are. But right now, what I just heard made a lot of sense.

And I trust Jesus Christ right now as the one who died and paid for my sins, in full on the cross by his death and shed blood was buried and rose again from the dead and Jesus Christ right now to save me to give me the gift of eternal life. And the moment you do that, God saves you. If we’re going to go to Eric, he’s in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and been very patiently in waiting here to go bump on the air and Eric, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Oh, how you doing? God bless you. Thank you for accepting my call. I was calling the reason for my belief that we are the generation that will seek Christ’s return. I’m just wondering how come more churches are for this event because I do believe that we are the generation that’s going to seek Christ’s return? Well, you’re absolutely right Eric. You know the sad part is that they’ve come out of their cemeteries, I mean cemeteries, bad doctrine. They really don’t believe Christ is going to come back.

This is called replacement theology and predarism where most of the churches that came out of the Reformation followed the lead of the Roman Catholic Church in teaching that God was through with Israel, that the church has replaced Israel and that Christ has already returned in AD 70. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that. And they teach that when the Romans came against Jerusalem in eighty seventy that’s when Christ came back. Of course nobody saw him. And they believe the tribulation period was the period from eighty sixty four to eighty seventy.

They believe the Antichrist was Nero and they believe that what the Bible talks about future things has already happened and that’s the problem. They are not taking their Bibles literally and they’re not studying the Bible and so we have a boom a time when the preachers don’t even believe it all while because of i’m telling you i even feel like even in my own church i’m not really getting anything out of the service night to say that i just after like i’m just going through the motions and i read my bible every day i even ordered your bible and then i’ve been one but the new king james virgin discovery not the n i b then travel i got rid of the n i b and then i have the nelson king jane state bible and now i’m waiting on your bible to go for the king jane bible

it’s coming to me now someone studied from that because i really want to get into I’m trying to find me a church that’s really into the Word of God that’s really taken very seriously because I really believe that we are the generation that’s going to see his return and more churches need to wake up and get out of this bill or looking at the times of the time because he is coming and I’m trying and everything. I’m crazy. Well, I don’t know if you know the truth, you almost feel like you want to stand up and shout, you know?

And say, wake up people! And the Bible basically says that. It says, wake up in Romans 13. It says, the day is coming closer for Christ to return. And it says, wake up and we need to wake up out of sleep and get going and start serving. And do all we can do to tell others about Jesus. There’s no doubt about it. We’re living close. I wouldn’t be surprised that the Lord came this year. I’m not a date setter, but while the world is really headed on a collision course with Jesus coming back.

Oh, man, it just blows my mind. It just blows my mind. I mean, we could just look over it. I mean, things are happening with our eyes open. I’m not looking for no Pacific anti-crite, but I’m telling you this here. I’m looking for the day. That’s what I’m looking for. and i’m trying to kind of stay in his body but did that i know i can’t teach my family i’m trying to get them to see and even even though my friends and other folks think that like i said a big i’m crazy but i’m trying to tell them you know i tell some people to think maybe i’m a nut i say look i may be a nut but i’m screwed to the right bolt that you’re right you’re right well i i i i i that was not what my main thing will will to say that

because I’ve been wondering and I’ve been asking that saying, I got to go to church and it’s like Mother’s Day here. We got church building day. There’s motor building fun and give you time and offering. There’s nothing wrong with none of those things and get your pray. Nothing being taught about, you know, you need to get right, just get ready. All right, are they planning for Mother’s Day next year? Because it’s already passed. Eric, God bless you. We’ll be praying for you.

And I’m glad you’re able to hear us up there every day in the station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Oh, you’re welcome. You’re welcome. And I’m making my commitment to become a partner with your ministry. That’s just, I really believe in what you’re doing. And God bless you and continue on with what you’re doing and what you’re doing. And wake folks up. Thank you, Eric. That was Eric in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. That concludes today’s question and answer segment. There is no other topic that is more important to us than the gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was Dr.

Hank Lindstrom’s mission to spread the gospel. Through your support for Bibleline, you too can help to spread the gospel of Christ throughout the world and to reach others with the message of salvation through Jesus. Visit our website at BibleLineMinistries.org for copies of any of our resources such as Dr. Lindstrom’s audio CDs on the books of Jude or Acts. plus many others. Now join us as we return to today’s teaching series. But it says here, when Jesus was coming to Peter’s house, He saw His wife’s mother laid sick of a fever.

He touched her hand and the fever left her and she rose, arose and ministered unto them. When the evening was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils and he can’t stop the spirits with his word and healed how many? A-L-L. You might want to mark that. He healed all the sick and it says that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet saying, himself took our iniquities and bear our sicknesses. Now this is important because the healing movement in America today say that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your diseases and therefore as you by faith trust him to forgive your sin, you’re to trust him to heal your diseases.

I want you to make a note here that when he healed these people while he was there in Capernaum, it says this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet saying himself took our infirmities and bear our sicknesses. In other words, this was fulfilled while he was alive long before he went to the cross. His healing ministry prior to Calvary was the fulfillment of the passage about him bearing our sicknesses and taking our infirmities.

That was the evidence that he was the Messiah. And so it wasn’t on the cross that he died for our sins as the charismatic movement would have you be believed. . . . . . . . . . Jesus in his life fulfilled the fact that he took our infirmities and bear our sicknesses. So if you’re not familiar with what they do in presenting a case that you should have faith and be healed based upon Christ’s death, that’s not what the Bible teaches.

He during his lifetime fulfilled that passage of prophecy about him in that he healed people in his ministry as credentials of who he is. Verse 18, Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, He gave commandment to depart to the other side. That was the other side of the sea of Galilee. They were at Capernaum, now they were going to go to the other side of the sea of Galilee. Now it says in verse 19, a certain scribe came and said, Master, I will follow thee with us, whoever thou goest.

Now here is a couple of verses that are seen in other places as well, but basically test of discipleship. This is not salvation. Following Christ is the Christian life. Follow me. Christ said, and I’ll make you fishers of men. So Jesus here, notice, tells the honest truth about serving Christ. That you’re going to be blessed beyond measure and have prosperity and health and wealth like you’re seeing on television. No. Let me read it here. Verse 20, Jesus said unto him, the foxes have holes in the birds of the earth have nest.

That means they have a home. They have a home to live in. But the Son of Man hath not a place to lay his head. So Christ apparently didn’t even have a house to live in. There’s no promise of any earthly riches here necessarily for serving Christ. And another of his disciples said to him, Lord, well, allow me, suffer me first to go and marry my father. He didn’t mean there’d been a death and he wanted to go home and go to the funeral service.

He’d say, let me go home and live with my daddy telling lies and once I’ve buried him and the inheritance is taken care of and so on, then I’ll move on and I’ll follow you. And what does Jesus say to him? Follow me and let the dead bury their dead. What’s he talking about? Those that are spiritually dead, living, let them take care of burying those that die physically in their families. Let the dead spiritually bury their dead. You follow me now.

wait until some future event happens before you choose to serve the Lord. Don’t wait and say, well, when my mom and dad pass on, then I guess I’ll serve the Lord. That was basically the type of excuse being given here. I said, let them bury their dead. You come and follow me now. Don’t waste a moment. Serve the Lord. And of course, as a result, as you’ll read another Gospels, a lot of people went away then. They just didn’t go because they really didn’t want to serve the Lord, I don’t think.

They were looking for the excitement that surrounded Christ at that time. A lot of people like to get on the bandwagon. If the band is playing, they’ll follow the parade, won’t they? As soon as the band stops playing, everybody disperses. You ever watch that at a parade? The one the band is going and everything and people just got on the march along the side and they’re clapping and the band stops playing and the party’s over. And a lot of people wanted to go on the band when Christ was playing along the way.

But a lot of people are that way in the Christian life. If you’re getting on just because it’s the popular thing to do or others are doing it or because there’s excitement around doing that, then you’re doing it all for the wrong reason. You need to get on the bandwagon because Because you love the Lord and you want to serve Him and you’ll do it whether the band is playing or not. And that’s what he’s talking about. A real challenge here as to why you’re really going to follow Christ.

Verse 23, when he entered into a ship his disciples followed him and behold there rose a great tempest in the sea. In some that the ship was covered with waves. But notice Jesus in the midst of a terrible storm, he was asleep. Wow. Here’s a storm. about where to sink the ship and Jesus is asleep on the ship. And the disciples came to him and awoke him and said, Lord save us, we’re going to die. We’re going to perish.

And he said to them, why are you fearful? Oh, you have little faith. Then Christ arose and rebuked the winds and the sea and it was a great calm. And the men marveled and said, what manner of man is this that even the winds and the sea obey him? Wow. So Christ could calm the sea. And And of course the picture is, no matter how great the storm might be around you, that you ought to be able to have peace in the midst of the storm.

Because why? Christ is there. He can calm the storm if he so chooses to do. Somebody was entering a contest of a painting that would best describe peace, and there were all kinds of different paintings submitted. The one that won the contest was of a terrible storm at sea. And on the top of one of the waves, resting with its arms folded with a seagull, riding the waves up in the midst of a terrible storm, and that won the prize for peace.

So there can be storm all around you. And yet you can be at peace as that bird was, riding the wave in the storm. And as believers, we ought to be able to recognize as storms come all around us at times, that we ought to be able to find peace in the Lord, because He’s the one that is the master of the sea, and of the sky, and of the earth, and of the universe. And what manner of man is this?

He can even cause the wind and the sea to be calm. So, when you’re going through a storm, don’t despair. The disciples were scared to death. And they said, Lord, save us. And he said, oh, you fearful. You of little faith. They should have trusted him. He gave them the clue that everything was okay, didn’t he? Because here is God in flesh, and he’s laying in the bottom of the boat asleep. No big deal. Verse 28, when he was come to the other side of the country of the Gergeesenes, they They’re meant to possess with demons, should read demons, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fear so that no man might pass by that way.

Behold, they cried out saying, what have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou son of God. Notice demons recognize Christ. They knew who he is because he is God. And there was no doubt about it when they saw him. They said, wow, Jesus, thou son of God. And then it says here, art thou come hither to torment us before the time. And they have a knowledge of prophecy. The demons know that they and Satan are going to be cast into the eternal like a fire after the Millennial Kingdom of Christ.

And here the Millennial Kingdom had not yet happened. And they said, what’s going on here? Are you coming before the appointed time to torment us? They’re going to be cast into hell one day, but it wasn’t then and it’s not until after the thousand year reign of Christ. But notice they know that they’re already consigned to go to hell. They know that they’ll be tormented day and night forever and ever in the lake of fire. They know Christ is the one who’s going to cast Him into hell.

And they know He is deity, that He is the Lord. He is the Son of God. And so demons know a lot about Christ. But it won’t affect their salvation. They’re already lost and already headed for hell. And there was a good way off from them a herd of many swine feeding. So the demons be sought him saying, if you cast us out, allow us to go into the herd of the swine. And apparently demons like to possess a body.

And so they were leaving these two men, but they wanted to inhabit these swine. So we know that a person that’s demon possessed can be involved by multiple numbers of demons. And because they’re spirit beings, you know, you don’t have to have a certain amount of space per demon. is not a problem here because we’re dealing with spirit beings. And so you can have lots of demons involving one particular individual. And so here Christ says unto them, go. When they were come out, they went right into the herd of the swine.

And what happens? Behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea and perished in the waters. Thanks for listening to Bible I. You will walk in and you will look around and you will not find an image of anybody in the synagogue. They just do not do it. And the Bible predicted that. And yet this was not characteristic of Israel.

They were full of images. And here the Bible said they would not have any more images. Here’s another one in this is Hosea chapter 3 verse 4. It says they would be without an Ephod. The Ephod was the garment of the priesthood. Guess what? It’s saying they wouldn’t have any priest. Israel does not have any priest. They have rabbis, the word Rabbi means teacher, but they don’t have any priests. You can’t go to the synagogue and say, I’d like to talk to the priest.

They would look at you kind of strange because they don’t have any priests. The Bible predicted they would be without a king, they would be without a prince, they would be without a sacrifice, they would be without images, and they would guess what? Not have their priesthood. The priesthood is not around today. I don’t know about you, but this is is obviously pretty convincing. And then it says in verse 5, afterward shall the children of Israel return. They have returned to the land.

Wow, we’re living at the other end of this prophecy where it says afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and David their King and they shall fear the Lord and his goodness and it says here in the latter days. This verse tells us we are in the latter days right now. It It defines the latter days as those days when the Jewish people are back after having returned after being scattered around the world for the past 2000 years.

The Bible is never wrong, my friend, if you don’t trust Christ as your Savior and you don’t go to hell as a result or a consequence, it will be the first time the Bible was ever wrong. You don’t want to gamble with a book that’s just never wrong. only one way to go to heaven, and that is to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. There’s only one way to heaven. Christ is that way. Christ said, I am the way, the truth in the life, and no man come with unto the Father but by me.

And unless you trust Christ, you will not see heaven’s streets. That’s right. I’m so glad I’ve trusted Christ as Savior. John 3 16 says it all, for God’s love the world that he gave is only begotten Son. God loved all of mankind, the world, that’s all of mankind, that he gave his son Jesus Christ, God and flesh, that he would die for you and me and shed his blood to pay for our sins, be buried in rhymes again from the dead, that whosoever would believe in him, that word belief means to trust, to rely upon, put your confidence in when you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior.

The Bible said you would not perish, but you would have everlasting life. That’s right, everlasting life. I have everlasting life. You could receive eternal life right now by trusting Christ as your Savior. I just read two emails this morning of people telling me they trusted Jesus Christ by hearing Bible and hearing this explained. Boy, that’s exciting. It certainly motivates me to hear from you guys that are listening, that are getting saved by trusting Jesus as Savior and hearing that message here.

And we’re excited. One guy wrote me and said he was a fan of one of the National Broadcasters and listened every day and invited Jesus into his heart every day but was never saved. You see, you don’t get saved by inviting Jesus into your heart. You get saved by trusting in the death and the barrel and the resurrection of Christ. He got saved through Bibleline but was listening and following the directions of the National Broadcasters. Look at how many of them are saying that too.

Jesus in your heart bypasses the cross, bypasses the blood, bypasses the death barrel in resurrection, and it is something that you must do and it’s not something that God has done, salvation is something that God has done at the cross. And all we do is receive it. There is no asking Jesus in your heart. There’s not a verse in the Bible that implies that you have to invite Jesus into your heart or into your life. The Bible says everywhere, believe or trust on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now that we say, got to run. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. Keep your eyes focused on the Lord. Dr. Hank Lindstrom, thank you. Bible will be back tomorrow.
