There was a good way off from them a herd of many swine feeding. So the demons besought him saying, if you cast us out, allow us to go into the herd of the swine. And apparently demons like to possess a body. So they were leaving these two men, but they wanted to inhabit these swine.
So we know that a person that Stephen possessed can be dwelt by multiple numbers of demons. Because they’re spirit beings, you don’t have to have a certain amount of space per demon. Space is not a problem here because we’re dealing with spirit beings. And so you can have lots of demons involving one particular individual. And so here Christ says unto them, go. When they were come out, they went right into the herd of the swine. And what happens? Behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea and perished in the water.
And so perhaps Christ got rid of those. You know, that was the unclean animal that they were not to eat, and these Jewish people were not supposed to be raising them and selling them and eating them. And so they were, this is the black market on pork in that day. So they lost all that inventory, and it says that those that kept them fled, they went their ways in the end of the city and they told everybody what had happened here, what was before to the possess of the devils.
And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus and when they saw him they said, get out of here. You’ve destroyed our business and we’ve lost a lot of money because of you and we want you to leave. So it says they’d be sought him and he would depart out of their coast. Wow. Instead of seeing the two men that have been delivered from demons. They saw the loss of the revenue that was really in violation of God’s Word.
And money said, out of here, Jesus, we don’t want you. You’re costing us. Isn’t that the way it is today? Money and economics, rule in many churches. And oftentimes they don’t want Jesus. They don’t want the Bible because the Bible would actually They expose their practices and their teachings to be wrong. So they say the Bible in Jesus is not a here and they preach what they want to preach. And so it happens all too often. You read about it in the paper many times and the Bible doesn’t rain, Christ doesn’t rain in that church but economics does.
And economics says get rid of Jesus, get rid of the Bible and we can fill this church up and entertain people and do what we want and people will come out. It’s interesting oftentimes that the churches that have the false message are the ones that prosper. It almost goes hand in hand. How does that happen? The devil blesses them for sure. And Satan makes it tough for the ones who teach the truth, so I’m going to persecute them, and so they struggle.
And it’s true around the country. Genuine, true churches are oftentimes struggling, where those that have a false message seem to flourish. And they’ll also see it the other way around. They say, wow, the ones that they think are flourishing have the truth. And they think that unless you are flourishing, that you can’t have the truth. And so it’s kind of an interesting trick by the devil too, to fool people. Remember in Noah’s day only eight people believe the truth.
The majority were wrong. Big doesn’t make it right. The majority aren’t always right. And only as you are in tune with God’s word are you right. So very, very interesting. Well, let me just go a couple more verses. We’ll go to verse eight in chapter nine and we’ll quit for tonight. And he entered into a ship and passed over and came into his own city. and behold they brought to him a man sick of the palsy lying on a bed and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy, son be of good cheer thy sins be forgiven thee and then behold certain of the scribes that within themselves this man blessing them because only God can forgive sin and Jesus knowing their thoughts he’s the omniscient Son of God all knowing says we’re for think ye evil in your heart, he knew what they were thinking.
Wow. And he says, which is easier to say, thy sins be forgiven thee, or to say, arise and walk? Which would be easier? Well, if you’re a false teacher, it would be easier to say, thy sins be forgiven thee. It would be a lot tougher to say, arise and walk, and then if the guy doesn’t get up, you’re exposed as a false teacher. Christ says, which is easier? Hmm. Oh. He says in verse 6, but that you You may know that the Son of Man hath power on the earth to forgive sins.
He said, I said to the sick of the Pauls he arrives and take up thy bed and go unto thy own house, and he arose and departed to his house.” That was obvious. That he didn’t say the easier thing. Anybody can say your sins are forgiven. But he demonstrated that he had the power to forgive sin by doing the harder thing. a rise and walk to a man who never walked, a man who is lying on a bed incapable of walking, and he is healed.
And it says when the multitude saw it, they marveled and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. So Christ here could heal. All right, we’re ready to go. It is Matthew time. Matthew time. Here we go. All right. Everybody’s here, everybody’s trapped in, tray tables and sea bags in the upright position. Seabolt fastened, ready to go. We’re gonna take off. I believe we got to chapter 10 or did we not? Chapter nine, where in nine? Chapter nine, verse nine.
Is that what you’re saying? Okay. Because I teach this class in the morning, I don’t always, I’m not exactly on the verse, so I need your help sometimes. All right, here we go. We’re in Matthew chapter nine, welcome again tonight. It says here that Jesus sees a man named Matthew at the receipt of custom and he said, follow him and he said, follow me and he arose and followed him. Here was the call of Matthew to be an apostle and Matthew obviously records that event in his own life here in this wonderful book of Matthew.
Verse 10, it came to pass as Jesus said it, in the house, behold many any publicans and sinners. These were people that weren’t exactly the most loved tax collectors. And then sinners came and sat down with him in his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said in his disciples, why eateth your master with publicans and sinners? And when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, they that behold need not a physician, but they that are sick. Go learn what it means when it says, I will have mercy and not sacrifice.
I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. So obviously those that need salvation are the ones that he came for. And those that were self-righteous in thinking they didn’t need salvation, he didn’t approach them, but he came to the people who probably knew they needed salvation and they found him. Verse 14, then came to him with disciples of John saying, why do we and the Pharisees fast off but that disciples fast not? 15 and Jesus said unto them, can the children of the bride chamber mourn as long as the bride groom is with them?
But the days will come when the bride groom shall be taken from them, and then they shall fast.” And how true that was. Here was a time really when they were with Christ and they didn’t fast, but after he had been crucified and taken back to heaven and they were persecuted for their faith, then they did indeed fast. Verse 15, verse 16, No man put up a piece of new cloth upon an old garment for that which is put in to fill it up, take it from the garment and the rent is made worse.
You need to do men put new wine in old bottles. Else the bottles break. Of course those were like a leather bottle and the wine run without it in the bottles perish. But they put new wine into new bottles and both are preserved. I believe he’s talking about how that now he was shifting from the old covenant to this new covenant. From the law to grace and so there was a definite change here that was going to take place with Christ coming here to the earth.
Verse 18, while he spoke these things unto them, behold there came a certain ruler and worshiped him. And of course rightfully so Christ received worship because he is God, saying, my daughter is even now dead. But come and lay thy hand upon her and she shall live. Jesus rose and followed him, so did his disciples. Behold a woman which was diseased with an issue of blood 12 years, came behind him and touched the hem of his garment. For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
And Jesus turned about, and when he saw her he said, Daughter, be of good comfort, thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. Jesus came into the ruler’s house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, and He said unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but sleeping, and they laughed Him to scorn. But when the people were put forth, He went in and took her by the hand and the maid arose, and the fame here of went abroad in all that land.
So here we find He did great miracles. He raised the dead. He also healed those that were seriously ill. And here was a woman who had an issue of blood for 12 years and healed her on the spot. And the modern healers today aren’t doing that. I don’t see them raising the dead. I don’t see them healing long-term serious illnesses at all. And I think really what we’re watching today is a fraud in the area of the healing movement.

We now have Adam in Denver, Colorado and Denver. Here we are. Welcome to Bible Life. Hello. Hi Adam. I do have a question. If you wouldn’t mind answering for me, the verses in Matthew chapter 12 verses 43 through 45. I had someone say that if you fall out of God’s grace that it’s harder to get the seven times harder And I was like well Where does it say that in the Bible and they couldn’t quote it for me? And I was wondering and I found this passage and I was wondering if this was the passage that Joe were looking for Or that they’re referring to if you could just explain it to me.
All right Well, this is talking about somebody who’s unsaved who is demon in dwelt and It says in verse 43 when the unclean spirit is gone out of a man He walks through the dry places seeking rest and finding none. That’s the demon. And so guess what? He says, I’m going to go back to my house. That’s the body that he was indwelling from once I came out. And when he comes back, he finds it empty, swept and garnished.
Then he goes and he takes with him seven other demons, more wicked than himself. And the latter state of that man is worse than at the beginning. So obviously this is talking about an unsafe person. A true believer can never be indwelt by a demon because God the Holy Spirit comes and takes up residence in our body. And it says in 1 John 4, 4, greater is he that is in you, that’s the Holy Spirit, or Christ, than he Satan that is in the world.
There’s no demon that wants to live in the same body with Jesus Christ. So obviously you can’t be indwelt once you become saved. So that’s what it’s talking about and it has nothing to do with what you were saying. people amaze me what they can come out of a passage that’s not even close to the real meaning. And usually that tells me maybe they don’t know the Lord. You know in 1 Corinthians 2, 14 it says the unsaved man, the unborn again man, the unregenerate man, receive it not the things of the Spirit of God.
They’re foolishness to him. Neither can he know them so they just don’t make any sense out of the Bible. I hope that helps Adam and thank you for your call. Apparently Adam is already off the air and we have an anonymous caller from Jackson and I’m going to ask my question. Hopefully you’ll be able to give it for a break. I’m in the car driving if I don’t have the Bible verse on me right now, but second the Salonian.
I remember what chapter, but it’s verse one through eight and I was looking over the Internet lately the past weekend. I’m on a website by somebody that did a thing called the Rapturefairy.com and I was reading what he was saying about that and he was saying that there is no rapture before the tribulation. He said if we would read our Bible in 2nd thessalonians 1 through 8 where it talks about the he abomit the apostasy and everything being set up that uh…
the thing won’t happen till we see the apostasy which is the church actually worshiping satan and then also something about we want to be wrapped out here until after he revealed himself that confused me but i listen to you every day and i was getting the point where i’m part of the believe in the rapture but then he he points that out to me that there is no pre-tribulation rapture and we should read the part where it says until the abomination is revealed none of us will be taken out of here but can you please explain that and i’ll hang up but the next thing is that you find out about the new century version by before we read my back to kato thank you okay thank you that that’s a terrible translation i wouldn’t give it to anybody and if you have a just keep it hidden someplace
that passage by the way that uh… website you went to is totally wrong is actually talking about the rapture in verse three It talks there about a departure. The Greek word is departure. And if you take it that the departure is from the word of God, then that would be apostasy, which is apparently what this guy is talking about. But it really is the departure of the church. It’s the Rapture in verse three of 2 Thessalonians chapter two. And we find that proofed a little bit further down in the text when it says, He that now hinders iniquity in this world is going to be taken out.
And when he is taken out, that’s the Holy Spirit in every one of us believers. When the Holy Spirit goes, we go. And so when he that is now hindering iniquity in this world, the Holy Spirit in us is believers as we’re the salt of the earth, we’re the light of the world in the absence of Christ being here. When the Holy Spirit goes, we go and then the tribulation period will begin and the anacrist will be revealed. and then it says in verse 8 that Jesus then will come back in his second coming seven years later and destroy that wicked one, the Antichrist, with the brightness of his coming and he’ll be cast into hell forever.
So obviously he gets it wrong, that chapter really is a proof text for the pre-tribulation of Rapture. The departure, the same word is used over in Philippians where Paul said he had a desire to depart and be with Christ, but that it was far better for him to remain around and teach and instruct and win souls of Christ. But he really was, he said in a straight between two thoughts. He wanted to go to heaven, which would be far better, but he realized that the Lord wanted him to stay around and continue to minister to people, the gospel of Christ.
We’re going to go now to Monica in Bradenton, Florida, Monica welcome to Bible High. Hi Dr. Lester, how are you? Good. My question is about fasting. I wanted to know like what if you fast for not eating, are you allowed to drink water? Well you’ve got to have water. Yeah even if you fast you got to take your liquid or you become dehydrated you get yourself in trouble real quick. But fasting is something that we all do every day.
We don’t really think about it. And if you go to sleep at night and you wake up in the morning, what’s the name of the first meal you eat? It’s called Break Fast or Breakfast. So everybody’s fasting, whether they are planning to do so or not, whenever you don’t eat, you’re fasting. And when you start eating again, you’re breaking the fast and breakfast is the first meal to break the fast. Actually what happens when your stomach is a little bit empty, your other senses are or heightened and you’re much more alert and it’s a great way to be when you’re reading the Bible or praying or seeking out God’s will rather than do that on a big stomach.
You know what happens on a Thanksgiving afternoon? You have that great big Thanksgiving meal and everybody just becomes kind of sleepy and everybody’s kind of laying around and that’s because their stomachs are full and all the blood in your body is working on getting that food digested. And so your brain is really left a little bit dull. And I learned this early on, when I was in college, I learned that if I ate a meal just before I took a test, I would do poorly.
So I learned to eat two to three hours before I would take a test or an exam, and I found myself doing much better. And I still practice that before I preach, or before I go on radio I like to eat two or three hours before. So the mind is much more alert, much more in tune with what’s going on than if I ate a big meal just before I went on radio or before I preached a sermon. And so that’s fasting.
And if you want to fast for a longer period of time, that’s fine, but you need it certainly taking liquid. But there’s no great mystery about fasting. It’s basically you’re more spiritually and physically attuned to the world around you when your stomach’s a little bit empty. Okay. And the Bible, you know, some people make a big deal out of it and Jesus warned about that. He says, don’t go around and brag that you fast and don’t make your faces look like you’re going to drop dead because you have many and you’re fasting and you’re more spiritual than somebody else.
That’s not the point. The point is it’s a physiological thing that we all know about that when we eat we get dull. Our minds we get sleepy. But if you have a little bit hungry, you’re much more alert and your senses are heightened and you’re much better able to discern the Word of God and to seek out God’s will and let God speak to you. Okay. Monica, I hope that helps. Yes, sir. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome.
That was Monica down in Bradenton, Florida. We have Carl and he’s in Tampa, Florida. Carl, welcome to my blind, you’re on here. Faster, hey. Let me ask, you know, Bob, I don’t know what they talked about. the god of the consuming fire uh… there’s a strong out that i hear some people singing in this called the u fire fall down on us we pray and i think that i’m going to buy like the fire of the holy goes or fired up for god uh…
but somehow doesn’t doesn’t really resonate with me on that your fire fall down on us we think it it talked to me a little bit about that well you’re absolutely right and what they’re trying to do is repeat what happened on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came to involve the believers and it says there was a sound as of a mighty rushing wind and then there was these cloven tongues of fire that came down on each of the believers at Pentecost.
That has never been repeated and of course they’re trying to, that’s what we call a Pentecostal experience because they’re trying to duplicate or replicate Pentecost which will never be repeated again nor more than no more than Calvary will be repeated. Jesus will never go to the cross again. He’ll never come back from the dead again. That’s already done and passed and Pentecost will never happen again and yet they’re trying to repeat it and of course they sing about it and pray for it but it doesn’t happen.
I’ve never heard of any meeting where fire is coming down on the the audience. And of course that only happened at Pentecost. But the tragedy is that the fire of hell is awaiting the unbeliever. And when it talks about Christ and Matthew 3 and other places where Christ would baptize with fire, it’s talking about those that are lost being cast into the eternal lake of fire where their soul will never die and the fire will never be quenched. If you read that Matthew chapter 3 in verse 11 and 12, it says that he will thoroughly purchase forth and the chafe of the harvest, the unwanted, the unsaved will be cast into a furnace of fire and they’ll be weeping in the ash of teeth.
So you don’t want the baptism of fire, but I think it’s just bad theology. They just aren’t careful to discern what they’re reading in the Scripture and teaching it right. And so I thank you for that call, but you’re right. God is a consuming fire, and all those that are lost will be consumed in that fire forever in the eternal hell, the eternal lake of fire. We hope that you’re learning with us as you listen to this question and answer segment featuring Dr.

In Hosea, chapter 5, we have an amazing reference here, I believe, to Christ first coming. And when Christ came, He was rejected. And these words are, I believe, the words of Christ given to us about 28 hundred years ago, about 800 years before He came the first time.
And here, as Christ is Today in Hosea chapter 5 we have an amazing reference here I believe to Christ’s first coming. And when Christ came he was rejected and these words are I believe the words of Christ given to us about 28 hundred years ago, about 800 years before he came the first time. here as Christ is rejo- rejected. He says, I will go and return to my place. These are almost the same words you read in John 14 in Matthew 23 and other passages as Christ is rejected.
He says he’s going to go back to heaven. And then he tells him in Matthew 23 when he would return. He says, I will go and return to my place till they, the Jewish people, acknowledge their offense and seek my face in their affliction will they seek me early. Here is a prophecy about how under the terrible affliction of the Holocaust, Jewish people began to become uprooted and began to go back to their land from all over the world.
Wow, what an incredible fulfillment of prophecy. Because here you have millions of Jews, over thousands of years affected by this prophecy and all of a sudden just before Jesus will return it says that they would be afflicted and they would return and seek Him. But here Jesus is saying I will go and return to my place. Almost sounds like John 14 where Christ says I go to prepare a place for you and if I go to prepare a place for you all come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there you may be also.
And so here we find in chapter 6 that under the affliction the Jewish people would experience, especially with the Holocaust. It says here, this is the cry of the Jewish people, the Jewish nation, come and let us return unto the Lord. Here talks about them, returning to the Lord, coming back to the Promised Land. Come and let us return unto the Lord, for he hath torn and he will heal us. He hath smitten and he will bind us up.
And certainly that has been true. The Jewish people have been in a persecuted people scattered for two thousand years. And here they are talking about returning to the land which I think is talking about our time in history when we’ve watched the Jewish people going back and they’re still presently going back from all over the world. Now here’s the verse that is so exciting. Hosea chapter 6 verse 2 says, after two days will he revive us. The Jewish people would be revived after two days, and in the third day he will raise us up and we shall live in his sight.
Wow! Well guess what? We know that the third day is a thousand years. That’s the day of the Lord. The Jewish people will be raised up and actually live in the sight of Christ as he comes back as King and rules on the earth. And Jesus Christ will actually raise up the Jewish people and they’ll live during that Millennial Kingdom in a thousand years and they’ll live in the sight of Jesus. Well if the third day is a thousand years in length and Revelation chapter 26 times it tells us it’s a thousand years Well, then we know the first two days are also a thousand years each and so what it’s literally saying here is after 2,000 years I will raise up the Jewish people and they shall live in my sight for a third thousand years.
Isn’t that incredible? So here we have in verse 15 of chapter 5 of Oseah. I will go and return to my place and the Jewish people are not going to see me till they acknowledge their offense, recognizing who Christ is and was as their offense was the crucifixion and to realize that he died for them and to acknowledge him and seek him they would not see him but in the last days we You know, right after the rapture, the blinders will come off and many millions of Jewish people are going to come to know Christ as Savior.
The Jewish people are already returning to the land, come and let us return unto the Lord for yet torn and he will heal as he has spent and he’ll bind this up. And after two thousand years, he will revive the Jewish nation and they will live a third thousand years in his sight. That kind of tells us where we are. The two thousand years my friend are about up since Jesus was here and went back to heaven. He says, I’m going to go and leave and that was 2000 years ago.
Here we are right at the precipice right at the time when I believe Christ is going to return. Am I a date set or no? But I believe we’ve got to be very close. Here we are right at the close of that 2000 years. In any case, we’re so glad that you’re listening today and I hope you’ll be ready now for the second half hour. We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break. Get ready for the second half hour.

Now, let’s return to our question and answer segment, and then you’ll hear more Bible teaching from Dr.
Hank Lindstrom. We’re now going to go to Tony in Richmond, Virginia. You’re there. To me, they asked me the exact same questions if I thought they were where would I go. Of course, I answer them all and we got to the observation and got to the doctor’s box. I know I’ll run into them again. Can you give me something on that? Well, what you really need to know is if they say they can lose it, they’re really saying they are working toanciale it.
That means salvation by works and therefore they’re not saved. I just always say, look, let’s just stop for a minute. Let me see if I’ve got it right. You’re telling me that if from this point on till the day you die if you live the Christian life You’ll go to heaven They’ll usually say absolutely and then I’m I go back to them and say you’re telling me now that if I start off right now And then I don’t live for Christ and I die I’ll go to hell and they’ll say yeah That’s right and I said anyway you cut that you’re talking about what you do between now and death will determine whether you’re saved or not.
And that makes you the Savior. It makes salvation based on works. And you’re not saved according to the Bible because you’re not saved by works. Ephesians 2 9 said it’s not of works, lest any man should boast or brag. So these people are not saved and they’re working their way to heaven, but they don’t even realize sometimes that they’re trusting in their works. You have to kind of bring it out of them by illustrating it for them. That they’re really saying that what they do in their future.
And here’s the real test that everybody has to ask if you’re wanting to discern what the message is correct or not. Ask yourself, is there something that if you do or do not do in your future will determine your salvation? And that’s works. The true message always takes the loss of the dying sinner and takes you back to the cross of Calvary where Jesus said it’s finished. It’s done. He’s paid for. And so the true message says it’s done.
Your Christ is paid for your sins and he offers it free and it’s a gift and he saves you forever. The false plan of salvation always takes you to look into the future and what you do or do not do determines your salvation. That’s salvation of my works and it’s a false message. Thank you so much for calling in today, Tony. Have you trusted Christ as your Savior? There’s only one way to be saved, only one way to go to heaven and that is Jesus himself.
Jesus said in John 14, 6, I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. No man, no woman, no child. No one can come to the Father except by Jesus Christ. If you reject Christ, my friend, you have no chance because there’s no other way. There’s no other way. Peter said it so clearly in Acts 4, 12, he said, neither is there salvation in any other, for There is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be safe.
Most churches teach works for salvation. It’s sometimes very subtle, but you have to do something to be saved according to most churches when the Bible says you can do nothing. It’s not of yourself that our best righteous deeds are filthy rags inside of God Isaiah 64, 6. And you have nothing to offer God. I have nothing to offer God. You don’t either. I don’t care who you are. I don’t care where you attend or what you do. You don’t have a thing to offer God.
The Bible says your best righteous deeds are filthy rags in the sight of God. You have to come just as you are. You have to simply recognize your need. That you’re lost and headed for hell and you need a Savior and Jesus Christ is that one and when you come to him by faith trusting that he made the full payment for your sin was buried and rose again from it had God saved you. So most important decision you’ll ever make in your life.
I hope you’ve made that decision to trust Christ and Savior. You could do it right now. You could whisper a prayer. You could say something like as follows. I got on the center. Admit it. We all are. But right now, what I just heard made a lot of sense, and I trust Jesus Christ right now, as the one who died and paid for my sins, in full on the cross by his death and shed blood was buried and rose again from the dead.
And I trust Jesus Christ right now to save me, to give me the gift of eternal life. And the moment you do that, God saves you. We now have Chris and plant City Florida. Chris, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth. Good morning, Dr. Hank. How are you doing this morning? Good. Good. I have two things this morning. One is a statement and the other is a question. The statement I wouldn’t tell you that the word God is getting out around the world, not only through Bibleline, but also through my brother’s website, which you mentioned before, catholictacristian.com.
And the way he’s doing that is when people go to his website, if they want to order your CD and they can’t afford it. He actually sent it to them for free and equal. Isn’t that wonderful? He’s got a great testimony on that site. It’s actually Catholic to the number two, right? Right. Christian.com. Yeah, it’s really a great site. And now my question is, in the Lazarus, it names Lazarus, but it doesn’t name the rich man. Do you think that’s because I’m on the right track?
That’s very possible, but certainly, I think God doesn’t name the unsaved. It’s not necessary for us to know their names. As believers, we’re going to see Lazarus, but we’re not going to see this rich man. He’s going to be lost forever, and God doesn’t give us the names. Now, there is a puckerful literature that gives him a name they call him Demas, but there is no name in scripture for him. So the reason why is left unknown, but you might be on the right track, because as an unbeliever at the moment of death your name is stricken from the book and so his name is not there.
Well very good. Thank you Chris. That’s great and your brother’s website is a great one. It’s catholictacristian.com. Absolutely. God bless you and your ministry. I have a great day. Thank you. And sends out our CD, How Permanent is your Salvation to those that inquire, that can’t afford it and he’s apparently sent them to many other countries. well we uh… have uh… anonymous uh… back i don’t know maybe we didn’t cover that thoroughly enough and so we are back against the second this lives yeah i’m sorry about that again dr lintstrom i just really don’t understand the part where then the guy was trying to say about first of all he was saying the church will not be removed and tell the antichrist which is the devil himself revealed himself first i mean he pointed out the word that he said first he will do that and
And then I don’t understand that. Let’s stop and take a look here. In verse 3 it says in 2nd, Pestalonians 2, let no man deceive you by any means, for that day shall not come. That’s the tribulation period, except to come a falling away first. The phrase falling away in the Greek is a word that means departure. And that departure is going to happen first, and then the Antichrist will be revealed the the Son of Perdition. And then if you read further down though, it says in verse 7, the mystery of iniquity doth already work.
Only he and this he in verse 7 is the Holy Spirit, who now hindrith sin in this world will continue to hindr sin until he be taken out of the way. And then the Antichrist will be revealed. So that’s when the Holy Spirit leaves. When He leaves, we leave. This is the Rapture in verse three. The departure is the departure of the one who is hindering iniquity in this world in us believers. And so when the Holy Spirit goes, we go, that’s the departure it’s talking about.
This guy is trying to say it’s a departure from doctrine and it’s apostasy and obviously he’s wrong. If you read the context of the passage, it is the departure of the Holy Spirit as it says here in verse 6. The one who now is over 7. The mystery of iniquity death already worked only he the Holy Spirit who now hinder the equity will continue to hinder iniquity till he be taken out of the way when he goes we go then it says that wicked one the Antichrist will be revealed.
So as soon as we depart that’s when the Antichrist will be revealed. So as soon as we go the Antichrist will come on the scene and attempt to rule the world. Yeah well I had gotten really confused because he was trying to make it sound as if the Antichrist should be revealed first before the church would be removed is what he’s uh… you know you know that around it really confused me and i know god is not a god of confusion so he is away i’m happy to go with jesus when he’s ready for me well he is tell me also quickly to have to be in that why the end of the new century version by max potato you found was not good all hang up now thank you have a good day sir it’s again one of the worst translations out there it’s actually the new century uh…
version and uh… it’s terrible I got one and it’s been out for about 20 something years and it’s I got a copy and man alive I wouldn’t give that to anybody. I mean it is a very watered down and Not a real accurate translation If you really want to study all these translations you got to order the book new age Bible versions and it will cover all of these they just they’re just Satan has done an amazing attack on the word of God today You know, Jesus is the living word and the Bible is the written word and we find that Satan is attacking both.
Not only Jesus is the living word but also the written word and in second Peter we find that Peter tells us that’s one of the things that would happen as we approach the Lord’s return is that the Word of God would be under attack. And that’s why it was such a wonderful course. It equips us to be able to withstand this attack that’s happening today on the Bible. As we began the program, we talked about what’s happening in churches is that they would not endure sound doctrine.
And the word endure from the Greek means that they would stand up against sound doctrine and they would not put up with sound doctrine. And people will argue all day long against sound doctrine. And that’s what you’re experiencing there. sound doctrine is that we don’t go through the tribulation period. You have the rapture in verse 3 and you have the second coming in verse 8 and the tribulation period is in the middle. And you have the rise of the antichrist after the rapture and at the second coming Christ destroys the antichrist.
It’s all right there in the proper order and how he could get it so mixed up. And misverse 7 that tells us about the Holy Spirit, that’s the only one that he could be. The Holy Spirit is now hindering iniquity in this world, is going to be taken out and when he goes we go because he involves us permanently and so the church is raptured out verse 3. The Antichrist is revealed in verse 3 and 4 and then we have Christ coming back at the end of the tribulation verse 8 and destroying the Antichrist with the brightness of his coming.
So it’s all there, it’s pretty clear and the fellow is all messed up. That concludes today’s question and answer segment. There’s no other topic that is gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was Dr. Hank Lindstrom’s mission to spread the gospel. Through your support for Bibleline, you too can help to spread the gospel of Christ throughout the world and to reach others with the message of salvation through Jesus. I don’t see them raising the dead. I don’t see them healing long-term serious illnesses at all. And I think really what we’re watching today is a fraud in the area of the healing movement. Verse 27, when Jesus departed Vince, two blind men followed him saying, crying and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.
It’s one of the Messianic titles that Christ would be of the lineage of David. And they said, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And in verse 28, when He was coming to the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said unto them, believe ye that I am able to do this. And they said unto Him, Yea Lord. Then He touched their eyes, saying, according to your faith, be it unto you. And their eyes were opened.
And Jesus straightly charged them, saying, I want you to appear on national television with me tonight and give testimony to this healing. Now the opposite takes place. He says, see that no man know it. Christ was not trying to gain publicity by these things. And so here he heals the blind, he raises the dead, he does all the things that the Old Testament said the Messiah would do. And these were evidences that he was the Messiah. But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
So they didn’t listen to him, did they? They went out and did the opposite of what he said. They told everybody. And as they went out, behold, there was brought to him a dumb man, that is, he couldn’t speak, possessed with a devil which should read demon. There’s only one devil that Satan many demons. Schofield points that out in the margin that should read demon. And when the demon was cast out, the dumb spake. and the multitudes marveled, saying it was never so seen in Israel.
Truly, the Messiah was here on the earth, God in flesh. But the Pharisees said, he casteth out demons through the prince of the demons, and that’s Satan. So here they were obviously coming in unbelief, and they couldn’t deny the miracles that he did. They were very spectacular. And so they said, OK, he heals, but he does it by the power of Satan by the prince of the demons. Verse 35, and Jesus went about all their cities and villages teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of what?
The kingdom. There is a shift gonna come up, but the gospel of the kingdom was the good news about the millennium. The king was here present on the earth and they could observe the king. And if they had received him, the kingdom would have been established at his first coming. But because Christ was rejected, it was postponed and God has not turned to the Gentiles over the past 2000 years, but he’s about ready to deal with Israel again. And I believe the last seven years of the Old Testament age will tick off the clock during the tribulation right after the rapture.
So he was preaching the gospel of the kingdom. You might want to mark that because it occurs numerous times and is significant. And then it says, healing, how many? Every sickness and every disease among the people. So he healed everybody. The modern healers don’t do that. They have sections where they rope off all the people are seriously ill, they never get near the stage. You get interviewed when you go to one of those things, usually hours and hours in advance.
And you fill out a questionnaire as to what your sickness or illness is. And they only allow certain ones to come up on the stage. And you have to be of the mindset that you’re going to have a miracle take place at that meeting that night. One of the first questions they ask, it’s almost like in these game shows where they pick out people who will really be fun in the game show. Come on down, you probably have seen those shows, you know?
And they’ve already picked out people that are gonna come on down that are gonna be fun. They don’t come on down to somebody who’s, you know, that’s gonna be a bore. They want the show to be successful and the healers do the same thing. And they ask the question, are you expecting a miracle tonight? If you say no to that question, you don’t get on the stage for sure. First question, the series of questions that they ask and they pick out certain ones that are allowed to go up on the stage that will produce a good performance for the healer that night.
So when you look at the inside of how these meetings work and there are books that are written about that that have been that have followed them up and watch and observe how they do it, but they have advanced people that interview all the people, they have cards they fill out, they know all about you before you ever get up there and the so-called word of knowledge that we know somebody out here has a hernia or a kidney problem or something else.
They already know that in advance. And that is not some special revelation from God. So don’t buy into that. But he healed, notice every sickness and every disease among the people. Verse 36, but when he saw the multitudes, Jesus was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad as sheep having no shepherd. You know, as he saw the multitudes, the fact that they were lost, they needed a Savior. He had come to be their Savior.
He was moved with compassion on the multitudes. And he said to his disciples, the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. And isn’t that sad? Things haven’t changed in all these years, have they? Many, many lost. A harvest that is plenteous, but few people to go into the harvest. And that truly is sad. It ought to stir each of And so here’s a prayer request that we all ought to pray and including myself. Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.
I think that’s a regular prayer request we ought to pray. That the Lord would raise up people that would have a vision to go out and win people to Christ. That’s really what it’s all about. I remember when I was at the University of Florida and I had not yet begun to witness I prayed for guys in my dorm. I said, Lord send somebody to reach these heathen. They needed bad. I am living in the midst of heathen, and they need you desperately.
And I prayed that nobody ever came. And I said, Lord, aren’t you going to answer that prayer? And then I woke up and realized that maybe he wanted to send me that here I was in the midst of them. And I knew how to be saved. And I just wasn’t telling anybody. And so I decided I’ll start telling. And wow, he used me to lead a lot of those guys Christ in my door and maybe… One of the reasons why God wants us to pray is that we might ourselves become the answer to that prayer.
And we might become used of God in a particular way to minister to people that need to hear about Him. But the harvest is plenty. The bloopers are few. Don’t we see that today? Wow. Some churches never lead a soul to Christ. Some churches are just all involved in all kinds of things, but nobody ever gets saved. I remember one evangelist group coming to town, they called here and they said, do you have any people in your church that could open the Bible and lead someone to Christ?
And I said, yes. They said, oh, wow, we’re having a hard time finding. I said, what is your experience? He said, well, we called one church and he said, we used to have somebody like that, but he’s now left our church to go to another one. And a lot of churches can’t produce one person who could just take the Bible and sit down and open it up and lead someone to Christ. And if you can’t do that, then maybe you want to think about preparing yourself to do that.
We have a simple outline that we put in the church polls in here every Sunday. We also have that book in our Bible and book store on evangelism that’s out here. It tells you basically how to do it. And everybody here ought to be able to lead us to the Christ. But a lot of churches never see anybody come to know Christ. A lot of them never send anybody out into ministry to win the lost of Christ. And it’s incredible.
How can that happen? Because the Great Commission is going to all the world and proclaiming the gospel to every creature. And yet, if you were to ask the average church person, why does your church exist? They’ll probably give you lots of different answers, but maybe not that one. You know, try it as an experiment. I’ve done that in the past. And they’ll say, what is the purpose of your church? Well, according to the Bible, Christ gave the purpose of the church is that we’re to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
So I call it rather than the Great Commission, I call it the Forgotten Commission because it appears that people have forgotten why Christ left us here on this earth. He left us here to reach the world with the gospel. Chapter 10, he calls on the name of his twelve disciples. Here there were twelve disciples, all of us should become disciples, but there were twelve apostles who are also called disciples, and he gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Be sure to tune in to another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. I believe we’ve got to be very close. Here we are right at the close of that 2000 years. Let me go to Matthew 23 now because Jesus overlooks the city of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives and he says in Matthew 23 37, Oh Jerusalem Jerusalem, that kill us the prophets and stun us them what you’re sending to thee. How often I would have gathered that children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and you would not.”
So here, notice they reject him and he would have gathered them. He would have received them, but they rejected him and he says, Behold your house. That’s the temple in Jerusalem is left unto you desolate and then almost the same words as we read back in Hosea, for I say unto you, you shall not see me henceforth exactly what we saw back in Hosea chapter 5, till you shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, when they would recognize that that offense that took place two thousand years ago, the cross of Calvary, the rejection of Christ, was the true Messiah being slain, and recognize who he is, and say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of Yeshua, it’s then that Christ comes back.
Wow, I think we are living close. No doubt about it. I hope if you are listening that you’re a believer, today we have so much counterfeit out there that it’s difficult for somebody to become saved it seems. By the way, inviting Christ into your heart is not the invitation in the Bible. There’s nowhere in the scripture doesn’t say to invite Christ into your heart or into your life. Nowhere, you’re not saved by asking. Jesus Christ does not come into your life by asking him to come in or inviting him to come in, he only comes in when you trust in his finished work at the cross.
You can’t bypass Calvary. You cannot bypass the death of the barrel of resurrection, which is what the gospel message is. And Romans 1 16 says, I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it, the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that what? Believe it. That means to trust. Does it trust that Christ died for them and shed his blood to pay for their sins in full? And that Christ was buried in rose again from the dead.
Those that trust Him are the ones that become saved. My friend right now, if you have not trusted Christ as your Savior, then you need to do. to do so. Are you saved? You know, many are going to one day find out that they weren’t because they didn’t trust Christ. I talked to a gentleman the other day and he said, yeah, I gave my life to Christ a couple of years ago. I said, well, guess what? You’re not saved by giving your life to Christ or giving anything to Christ.
You’re saved by by what Christ did for you and until you trust that He gave His life for you and shed His He had his blood for you and was buried in rosogin from the dead. You’re not going to be saved. And we talked for another moment or two and then he says, yeah, I gave my life to Christ. I said, giving Christ anything will not save you. It’s not what you do for Christ that saves. It’s what he did for you.
You’ve got to trust him. It was amazing to try to deal with this because he was so ingrained With this false teaching that you give some into Christ You don’t give anything to Christ the Bible says that God is the giver and we’re the receivers Everywhere you look it’s for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son The Bible says the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord Ephesians 2 8 says, salvation is the gift of God and it’s not of works.
Let us say any man should boast. We don’t give God anything to be saved. We receive what He is giving to us. And He gives us eternal life. 1 John 511 says, this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life. That God hath given to us. He gives to us eternal life when we trust Him as our Savior. If you do that, my friend, you’re going to be safe. I’m Dr. Eglins, and this is Bibleline. Keep looking up.
