Now join us for Dr. Lindstrom’s teaching for today. And then of course the Tribulation Saints and the Old Testament Saints will see Christ in his glorious appearing as he returns to rule and reign on this earth. So clearly Titus tells us that Christ is coming again. The Blessed Hope and the Glorious appearing all mentioned here in this passage.

Let’s go to your left to the fourth T-book. You’ve heard me say before, there are five books that begin with the letter T, they’re all in alphabetical order. And so we just saw the fifth one, and now we’re backing up to number four. And look if you will at 2 Timothy chapter 4 verse 1. Here Paul tells us, I charge thee, therefore, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick, that means the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.

So here again is the return of Christ, isn’t it? The second coming and the rapture are both here. his appearing, that’s the Rapture. His Kingdom is the thousand year reign, that’s the Second Coming. So we find that Christ will be the Judge. He’ll judge the Church at his appearing, which is the Rapture and will receive our rewards at that time. The Old Testament saints and the Tribulation saints will receive their bodies and their rewards at the Second Coming at the beginning of the millennium.

So both here are in view, just like we saw in Titus to the blessed hope, which is the rapture, and his glorious appearing, which is the second coming. Here we have his appearing. That’s the rapture. His kingdom is the second coming when he establishes this earthly kingdom. Verse 8, Paul tells us about one of the crowns, one of the rewards. Henceforth, because he had served Christ in view of the return of Christ, henceforth there was laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, speaking about Jesus, the righteous judge shall give to me at that day.

And not to me only, but in all them that loved his what, appearing. Again, look at that. Almost every book has reference to the Second Coming. Almost This every book is talking about the return of Jesus Christ and certainly, 2 Timothy tells us about this wonderful day when He will come back for us. If you’re living, then you’re going to be caught up and meet the Lord in the air. You’ll notice here, rewards will be given out. What is fascinating to me in verse 8 is that Paul is telling us that he has to wait to get any rewards that he’s going to get until we get ours.

Did you notice that? He says, henceforth, or as laid up for me, Paul, a crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge shall give me at that day. He knew he had earned that reward. And then He says that not to me only, but unto all them that love His… Appearing. When will that take place? Add his appearing. Add his coming. So Paul will be standing there in line with all of us. Can you imagine? It’ll be intimidating standing next to the Apostle Paul in line to get rewards, but he won’t get his rewards until we are also judged and given our rewards at the return of Christ.

I think that’s just fascinating that, wow, I’m going to be standing next to Paul and Peter and the other apostles and they’ll be getting their rewards the same time we get our rewards. I just kind of be kind of slumped over next to those of what I would consider the super heroes, but we’ll be standing there right with them. It’s amazing that we’ll be there on the same playing field. Peter and the Apostles were men, human beings like we are, or you ladies, women, and on the same playing field.

And here we are standing before the Lord, but rewarded according to what we have done since we have been saved. Exciting Bible, isn’t it? It’s amazing. And I thought, this would be a nice way to begin. I was praying, how shall I begin this series? And I thought, well, what better way than to whet your appetite by showing you, it’s everywhere. As we look in all these wonderful books and we see the return of Christ is throughout the New Testament and we’ll find the Old Testament as well.

This is a major doctrine and yet I was never able to hear any messages about the return of Christ in the church I was raised in and many churches never ever speak about it. I remember preaching a revival at the first Baptist Church of Jeffery Hills a number of years ago and I was talking about the Rapture and I’ll never forget I was so close the first row the first pew was right down in front of me and I heard two little ladies there one whisper to the other loud enough for me to hear is he making that up is he making that up I never heard that in this church before and I kind of got a a check-o because I said, wow, I just learned that this church has never taught them about the Rapture.

Isn’t that amazing? A lot of churches never talk about it, and maybe you hadn’t heard about it until rather recently, but a lot of believers have never taught this. Many churches don’t even cover it, and a lot of churches don’t even teach prophecy at all. And so the people are just absolutely shocked when you cover some of these doctrines because they’ve never heard them. most think, well, they’ve got to be making these things up. I’ve never heard them, so therefore they can’t be true because somehow I guess they think they’ve been privy to the truth and have had it all presented to them.

But many have been in a sense cheated. And I love Al’s testimony. Al tells us, Al, wave your arms. From five years old, active in numerous churches until at 76 he got saved through Bibleline and now hold are you 79. So he’s been saved just a couple of years. Isn’t that amazing? All those years actively involved in churches and yet only saved just a few years ago. And we baptized him last year out in the lake and his wife also and in that wonderful after all these years of church, finally getting saved, finally getting immersed in baptism.

And what a testimony. And we hear that many times where people have been raised in church a lifetime and nobody’s ever told them even how to be saved. Obviously those churches have malpractice, haven’t they? I mean, my goodness, how can they fail you for that many years and not tell you the wonderful story of the gospel and how you can be saved by simply trusting Christ. And so that happens all too frequently, unfortunately. And so we have a wonderful message here that needs to be proclaimed, but the devil doesn’t want it to be proclaimed.

So he is the one who is behind the scoffers and the mockers and those who would ridicule the fact of Christ’s return and the doctrine of salvation because he doesn’t want people to become involved. He wants everybody just to be a pew-sitter, take up space and just warm the pew once a week for an hour and then go home and proceed with your regular secular life. But the Lord wants us to get up off of our seats and get active during the week and then come back to church and sit down and become refreshed, fed, encouraged, and challenged to go out and do it again and to get better at it and to win our world to Christ.

So we’re gonna end this first period right here. The clock tells me it’s time to do that. And then we’ll take a short break and come back and do a second hour tonight. So this is the conclusion of hour number one. And then we’ll do hour number two and then next week three and four. And then five and six and seven and eight and finally on the fifth week class nine and ten. And that is exciting. Let’s go ahead and bow in a word of prayer.

With heads bowed and with eyes closed, if you came tonight and didn’t have a clue or didn’t know if you were to die, whether you’d go to heaven or not, chances are maybe you’ve never heard the plan of salvation. But the Bible is very clear that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that’s Jesus Christ, that whosoever would believe or trust in him that he died and shed his blood and paid for your sins at the cross was buried and came back again from the dead, that if you’d believe on Him that you would not perish because Christ perished in your place, but you would have everlasting life.

And so maybe you’ve never heard or understood that before tonight, or maybe you’ve heard it, but never have put your trust in Jesus Christ. So you could do that right now, and you could be assured from this moment on, according to the Bible, that whenever you would die, you would go to heaven because Christ saves all those that put their trust in Him. And right now, as you put your trust in Him as your Savior, God saves you. How do you do it?

What do you do? Just whisper prayer, perhaps like as follows. You can say, God, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand a whole lot about the Bible. That’s just being honest. We’re all sinners. But God right here tonight, what I heard made sense, and I trust Jesus Christ, the best to know how, as the one who died to pay for my sin. When he died on that cross and shed his blood that he died there for me also. And I trust that he was buried and came back again from the dead that he’s alive forever more.

And I trust him right now to save me, to forgive me, to be my savior. And if you just do that in the quietness of your mind, the best you know how God up in heaven knows, and He saves all those that put their trust in Christ. Would you do it? Now, if you’re looking for a feeling to know that God responds to you or has forgiven you, don’t, we’re never told ever to look for a feeling to have assurance.

You’re listening to Bibleline, a teaching ministry that’s dedicated to delivering the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are many items available from our resource center, such as Dr. Hank Lindstrom’s DVD teachings on the topics of Saved by Grace, Baptism, and the Righteous versus the Unrighteous, in addition to many others when you call 1-800-576-3771. Now we’re going to take a break from our teaching to listen to Dr. Lindstrom answering questions from callers and then we’ll rejoin today’s teaching.

And we’re going to go to right now, Port Charlotte, Florida, and we have Joe on the line and Joe, you’re on the air. Welcome to Bibleline. Hi, I’m part of the following. You’re mentioning about this. You never lose your salvation. That’s correct. Okay. So I said this is my failure and I decided to… You sure will, but you probably get there sitting in your plan on it. says in Hebrews 12-6 that whom the Lord loves, he chases or disciplines and scourges every son whom he receives.

Verse 8 says, if you’re without that discipline, where of all of his children are partakers, it says you’re a bastard and not a son. In other words, you’d be illegitimately claiming to be a Christian. If you’re genuinely Christian, God is going to spank those that are delinquent. And he says in 1 Corinthians 11-30 that many of the Corinthians believers, because they didn’t respond to that discipline, he just took him home to heaven. So you’re out of here, maybe soon and you’re playing on going, but yeah, you’re still going to heaven, but you lose reward when you give an account one day and the Lord says, I’m disappointed that you didn’t do anything for me in the way of serving me.

And so there’ll be no rewards for you. You’ll suffer the loss of reward according to the Bible forever. And you’ll maybe incur some troubles here that the Lord will bring discipline upon your life and maybe decide if you’re not going to be corrected by it that he’ll just take you home. Well, in a sense, he’s being gracious to you so that you don’t have to give an account for more years of He said, son, get into the house, get into the bedroom, lie down over your bed and my dad gave me a warm reception.

When I was a little child, I was raised at home with my parents, when I did wrong my parents never kicked me out. My Dad never said, son, get lost. We’re bolting the door. We don’t want to see you at this house anymore because you’ve been delinquent. My Dad did the opposite. He opened the door big and wide and he said, son, get into the house, get into the bedroom, lie down over your bed. bed and my dad gave me a warm reception.

He never kicked me out and I might have been denied my allowance and I might have been restricted and I had different consequences to pay for it, but I was still his son and my mom and dad never kicked me out and I never ever even thought that they would. They never gave that indication. They always took care of me when I was delinquent, but they never kicked me out. Our Heavenly Father is the same way. He’s not going to kick you out.

He’s not going to lose you. He might say, come on home to heaven now son I’m tired of this nonsense I’m not going to put up with it anymore and and you’re coming home now and yes you’re going to lose your allowance you’re not going to have any rewards in heaven and and there’s a price to be paid for but you’d still be saved okay it’s a great promise let me give you a good one to write down this is John 6 37 Jesus says him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out that means under no circumstances or for no reason would Christ ever cast you out.

And in John 639 it’s even better Jesus said it’s the Father’s will that of all of which you have given him that Christ said I will lose none, not one, but raise them up again at the last day. So if one person were ever lost and all of history Christ would be a liar, Jesus promised that not one person would be lost. If he had said that only one would be lost I’d have to worry myself whether I’d be that one.

But I remember as a new believer God began to discipline in my life and he brought me to the place where I dedicated my life. Nobody even knew I was a Christian. I was a secret believer. I said, Lord, I’m not going to fight with you. I realize I need to live for you and I chose to serve him. And I’m so glad I did. But God got my attention and he will. If you’re a genuine believer, he will not allow you to live as you please.

But he will take you home to heaven if you’re going to be delinquent and not respond to his discipline. I hope that helps a little bit. And we have a wonderful CD on that that explains a lot of these passages, goes over it. But really if you believe you could lose it, you’re really saying that you have to work to get it or keep it. Think about this. If you could lose it, that would mean that something you did between now and your death would determine whether you were saved or not based upon your obedience or disobedience.

And that would mean between now and death how you lived your life would determine your salvation. That’s works. mean you’re the Savior, not Christ. According to the Bible, the truth plan of salvation takes us back to the cross where Jesus said it’s finished. He paid it in full. And our salvation is based upon what Christ did for us, not what we do for Him. But once we become born again, then God says that what is based upon works is our fellowship, our rewards, our joy, our testimony, our effectiveness.

All of that can be lost. But the forgiveness of sin has nothing to do with salvation then? No, the forgiveness of sin is based upon the finished work of Christ, not upon anything you or I do. We simply receive that by faith and we’re saved forever. But then once we become born again in our God’s children, then God wants us to serve Him and rewards are based on works. In other words, rewards are a future attainment based upon our deeds and our behavior here.

But salvation is a present possession based upon the finished work of Christ at the cross. He totally paid our sin dead at the cross. And we are saved based upon what He did for us. And then we can show our gratitude by living for Him and gain rewards which are earned. There are degrees of rewards in heaven and there are five specific crowns that the believer can earn that are based upon works. And I think every believer ought to be alerted as to what those five crowns are and begin to work toward getting them because God wants us to earn rewards.

He wants to bless us. He wants to use us just like a parent. You want to reward your children when they behave and when they’re obedient. But you have to discipline them if you love them, if they’re delinquent, but you never kick them out. And I’m still my dad’s son. And I’ve been my dad’s son, whether I was delinquent or obedient. And I, when I was delinquent, I many times was as a child denied my allowance or my privileges on the weekend or other things but I was still my dad’s son and I still continue to live in the house.

He never kicked me out and they needed it as our Heavenly Father. That’s a good question Joe I’m glad you brought it up. Jesus said in John 11, 26, there’s a group that will be living that will never die. He says, whosoever, liveth and believeth in me, that means you’re living when Christ returns. He says you’ll never die. Never die. Can you imagine? Never being a part of all the normal experience that most people experience that they die and then they go to me with the Lord will just simply be caught up alive and meet the Lord in the air.

Did you know that Judas was a disciple, but Judas was never a believer? In other words, you can be a disciple of Christ and not be saved. It’s so amazing that people don’t really practice what the Bible teaches called rightly dividing the word of truth. That means to set the truths of God’s Word in right order. There is a tremendous difference between being saved, which is what God has done for us at the cross. and in being a disciple, which is what we do out of love and gratitude for Christ because He gave His life for us, but we’re never saved by being disciples.

We’re never saved by following Christ. We’re never saved by being a witness for Christ. We’re not saved by living the Christian life. We’re saved by the finished work of Jesus at the cross. He fully, completely paid our sin debt at the cross, and when we trust Christ, we become saved. But the point is, you can be actively living like a Christian and not be one. Judas was a disciple and yet he never was a believer. Isn’t that incredible? So there are many, I’m sure, that might be even listening this morning to Bible line that maybe are not believers at all.

And what I mean by believer is not that you don’t acknowledge the fact that Christ lived and died and so on, but according to the Bible, the word believe means to trust that you have not trusted Christ. Now what I mean by that is you have to trust Christ alone. In other words, if you’re trusting in Christ plus something else, you’ve never really understood what it is to trust Christ. Let me go to my little illustration. If you’re on a dock, you’re going to step off onto a small boat.

Are you trusting that boat to hold your weight if you only have one foot on the boat and one foot on the dock? The answer is no. Let’s say that you put both feet on the boat, but you still have both hands on the dock. Are you trusting that boat to hold your weight? No, you’re not. And you know, a lot of people are like that. They’ve trusted Christ, they say, and yet they really have their hand on baptism, church membership, living the Christian life, and other things they’re holding on to assure their salvation.

Obviously, my friend, you’re not saved if you’re adding anything to what Christ did for you at the cross. But if you’re putting both feet on the boat and you have one hand you’ve let go of the dock but you still have one hand holding on to the dock. Are you trusting that little boat to hold you? No you’re not. You’re not. Let’s say you take both feet on the boat and you have both hands off the dock but you’re holding a rope that’s tied to the dock.

Are you trusting that boat? No you’re not. As long as you’re attached to that dock in any way you’ve never really trusted the boat to hold your way. I’m saying that if you have not cut all strings to everything and anything other than Jesus alone as your Savior, you’re not saved. That’s right. If you’re trusting in anything that you’re doing or anything you’re not doing or anything that your church tells you that you must do or not do, and you’re holding on to those things in addition to faith in Christ, my friend, let me be honest with you, you’re not saved.

Jack in Valarico calls in and he says, Will the people who teach predarism be punished for spreading false doctrine when they get to the judgment seat of Christ? Absolutely, I believe that we’re held accountable for false teaching and predarism obviously is a doctrine that says God is all through with Israel and basically puts a curse on Israel and the Bible says those who curse Israel will be cursed and those that bless Israel will be blessed and I believe certainly that that is still in effect today and I think that’s one of the consequences for sure.

We hope that you’re learning with us as you listen to this question and answer segment featuring Dr. Hank Lindstrom. It’s time for us to take a short break now. When we return, we will continue this question and answer segment and then hear more Bible Don’t go away, Bibleline will be back in a moment.

To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We have a question here and I’ll just go ahead and take some time to answer this now early. This is from Tim and he’s in Lake Worth, Florida and he says I’m preparing for my Sunday school class. And he’s having a tough time with Matthew 25 31 through 46. This is called the Judgment of the Nations. It talks about Jesus seven years after the Rapture coming back in all of his power and all of his glory and it says in verse 31 of Matthew 25 when the Son of Man shall come in his glory and all the holy angels with him.

Then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory. Well we know the throne of his glory is in the temple on the temple mount in Jerusalem And when Christ comes back in all of his glory, that’s the second coming, not the Rapture. When Christ comes at the Rapture, no one sees it, and the angels don’t come with him. He comes by himself according to 1st Thessalonians 4-16. But here he comes with all of his glory, with all of his angels, and then he will sit.

And that’s when he will be here on the earth for a thousand years as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. And right at the very beginning of that millennial kingdom, he will gather all the nations before him. The angels are sent out according to Matthew 13 and also Matthew 24, and they will assist. They’ll gather up all the unsaved. Those are called the goats, and they’ll be placed on his left hand. and all the sheep which are the believers will be placed on his right hand.

And here they’ll be separated, the sheep from the goats. And he will say to the sheep on his right hand, then shall the king, verse 34, say unto those on his right hand, come ye, blessed are my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the earth. These are the saved. Then in verse 41 he says to the goats on his left hand, depart from the cursed and everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

So here the goats are the lost, the sheep are the saved. And of course the question usually arises what about these deeds that are mentioned here? And then we find as Christ is addressing the sheep, he says, I was hungry and you gave me meat. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you took me in. Naked you clothed me, I was sick. You visited me, I was in prison, and you came under me.

Verse 37 says, Then shall the righteous. That’s a very key word. The righteous. In Romans 3, 10, it says, as it is written, there is none righteous, no not one. So according to the Bible, there’s nobody righteous, not one person righteous. Jesus said it over in Matthew chapter 19, he says there’s none that is good, but one and that is God. So every one of us are sinners, we’ve all come short of the glory of God, but yet there are those who are called righteous and how can that be?

Well, that’s because Jesus Christ substituted himself our place. And at the cross of Calvary, he paid our sin debt in full so that this exchange that it took place that took place at the cross of Calvary is where God placed our sins upon Christ and Christ became sin for us so that we might be made the very righteousness of God in him. So the believer has an imputed righteousness which God imputes righteousness to the account of the believer and so the believers are considered righteous.

These are obviously righteous because they have believed on Christ and that’s why they are the sheep and why the goats are not the sheep because the goats did not trust Christ in Savior and they’re described as the unrighteous. Again, if you can help us financially, we are totally listeners-supported. We don’t have any other means of support and we would appreciate hearing from you in that way because we have no other way to be able to stay on the air, so to continue and to grow and to reach forward, we need your help.

So please, please consider giving a gift to… Bibleline and certainly we thank you for praying for us. If you would do that, we’d be very happy. Anyway, we are going to go back to the stations that have been on break into the second half hour Bible. And so here we go. We’re going to do Bibleline in the second half hour right now. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.

That’s 1-800-576-3771, and now back to Bibleline. Welcome back from the break. We hope that you’re learning with us as you listen to Bibleline and hear real life questions with scriptural answers from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Please, make plans to join us and open your Bible as we also present in-depth studies covering a variety of biblical topics. Now, let’s return to our question and answer segment and then you’ll hear more more Bible teaching from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We now have Mrs.

Ridge from Margot and welcome to Bible Life. Good morning and thank you so much for your program, Dr. Lindstrom. Can you clarify for me what Reformation theology is and does that include this predarism? Yes it does and I think Reformation theology is taking several steps backward. It’s basically the theology of the time of the Reformation since then. Obviously a lot of wonderful Bible scholarship has taken place and we’ve moved forward and really learned a lot of doctrines are false and should be discarded.

But those who have Reformation theology cling to many of the misunderstood doctrines of that time which are many times absolutely wrong. Infant baptism for example is a part of Reformation theology. Lutherans, the Presbyterians, the Reform churches and so on, usually sprinkle their infants with water. That is a false doctrine. The replacement theology about Israel has been replaced by the church. Another false doctrine that most all of the Reformation churches hold and so on and so on. So I think that if you are going to adopt Reformation theology, you are going backwards rather than forward.

We need to jump into the Bible with what we’ve learned since the Reformation, discard the false doctrines and hold tight to the things that are true. The Bible says prove whether they are true or not and hold fast to those things which you find to be true. And so we find the Reformation churches are still clinging to the past. They need to be brought up to speed and come up to the present. That helps so much. Thank you. You’re so welcome.

And why do you want to go backwards? Why do you want to go back and believe what people, you know, if you went to a doctor that was practicing that believed what he believed 200 years ago in this country, they’d be bloodletting. They’d be cutting your wrist and draining your blood out. I mean that doesn’t make any sense at all. I wouldn’t want an auto mechanic that worked on cars 75 years ago working on my car today. And the Reformation theology idea is you go backwards in time and somehow going backwards is better.

It doesn’t make any sense at all. I think that they need to just stop looking backward. Look Jesus is coming again and we need to get up to speed with the Bible as well. Alright, we have a color from Largo and her name is Mrs. Ridge and welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Thanks for calling in today. Hello? Hello. Hi, I guess I got the wrong name here. What is your name? George, Palm Beach Garden. Well, George and Palm Beach Garden is good to hear from you.

Well, I hope I can hear your station pretty, here your program pretty soon. We’ve lost you. I know it and I’m so sorry that that has happened They didn’t give us any notice at all we learned from our listeners that we weren’t on the air and I really don’t think that They want us back But we’re trying to do something to come back and re-emerge either there or someplace else in South Florida Well, there’s a couple of FM stations I called one and then I’m gonna call another one and see what they can do they might be a little more flexible Well, good.

That’ll be great. What happens, but I do have a question Now, first of all, I wanted to comment that the implanted chip of course is with us. There was a man on TV who has a chip implanted in his hand with all his personal information on it. Oh yeah, I know they’re doing it. And they’re doing it in other countries. I understand that in Mexico, Spain, a number of countries are already implanting usually police or soldiers or law enforcement.

It’s moving in. Moving in. The question I had was about Revelation chapter 22 verse 15. Could you… Good. I will turn there right now for you, George, and good to hear your voice. I’m glad that you’re calling in today. In chapter 22 of Revelation in verse 15, it says, for without, that is outside of the New Jerusalem, our dogs and sorcerers and hormongers and murderers and adulterers and whosoever loveth and make it the lie. So there you have a long list.

Of course, that’s referring to anybody who’s not trusting you. who’s not trusted Christ, they will stand before God in their sin or sins and they’ll be excluded from heaven. I was kind of interested that they were still there, you know, that they hadn’t been, I thought they had been dealt with earlier. Well they have been, but here it’s mentioning simply those that will not be there and they’ve already been cast into the everlasting lake of fire in chapter 20 in verse 14 and 15.

But here it mentions that these are not going to be there when we arrive. So without is a kind of a general term? Yes, heaven does not include these people. They’re not literally standing outside the gate? No, no they’re not. They’re already banished. Yeah, that’s what they thought. Okay, thank you. Thank you George and Paul Meeg Gardens. Jack off the earth in Lakeland, Florida calls in and he says the Scofield, New King James version. Do you know anything about it?

Yes, I don’t like the New King James. They didn’t just change the archaic words, but they changed the meaning of many verses and I don’t recommend it. I recommend the Old Schofield Bible with the King James translation, not the New King James, although all these things are now being made available. We have Bill in Valrico, Florida on the line, and Bill, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Thank you. I appreciate it. question i do want to ask you is okay your church is it located all located off of like interstate for it’s right off of his room were five blocks south of hillsborough avenue and were blocked west of the veterans expressway okay alright i just want to make sure that i do want to get down to one of these days without listening to you as much chance as i get and i really

appreciate your ministry because it it’s helped their blog thing for me wonderful but here’s a quite good i don’t know if the subject of silly question or not technically art all of us related somewhere in the lineage to the jews well you know to adam in eve and to know i were all related but after the flood of no at the tower of babel god founded the nations when he gave them all the different languages and the people were scattered about the world and the nations began out of iraq out of uh…

babylon but at the same time he picked out a man individual named a brand and he said i’m going to make a nation of you so unless you’re descended from a brand you’re not really a june so that’s what i’ll be able to go back before that we’re all the obviously everybody’s related back to that and even also to know well i was kind of one about that because i thought well you know after everybody was scattered across the face of the earth technically everybody descended from that particular point.

And I kept sitting one day thinking like I wonder where I’m related back in the lineage because I was just kind of wondering about that one time if technically like bloodline lineage or whatever if we all were related. Well we all truly are the human race related but the nation of Israel began with Abraham in Genesis chapter 12. Unless you’re of that lineage of Abraham through his son Isaac, his grandson jacob and then through the twelve sons of jacob you’re technically not jewish uh…

ok i was just kind of wondering about that because i kept it one day thinking like you know what which tribe i was a high up the fedman for all by the kind of water you know but anyway let’s not appreciate the uh… you know the uh… ministry and i appreciate your answer and i really appreciate your show and i thank you very much all right well thank you bill bill this thing out in valorico florida Off the air, anonymous, whoever he is, somewhere in Florida, doesn’t even let us know what city he’s in.

But anonymous in Florida says, if the Jew is God’s chosen people, then why doesn’t everyone want to become a Jew? Well, obviously, you don’t become a Jew. You’re born a Jew. We believe that this is a race of those people that are descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You just can’t say, as a Gentile, I think I want to become a Jew. It doesn’t work that way. Jews after they trust Christ are still Jews. But they are Jews that are forgiven, and we can call them Christians now.

But Gentiles who trust Christ are still Gentiles after they trust Christ, but they’re Gentiles whose sins are forgiven. And by the way, the Jewish people were chosen for an earthly plan that he has, that one day when Christ comes back and his second coming, they will become the head nation on the earth as Christ rules over the Jews as king of the Jews and also king over all the other kings of the earth. And so he’ll be king of kings and Lord of lords and there’ll be one king or one lord over the entire earth during the thousand year reign of Christ.

Basically, if you’re a Gentile, there’s no way you’re ever going to be a Jew. But if you’re a Gentile you can be saved and be a Christian if you’re a Jew You can be saved and be a Christian the Jewish people are race the Senate for Abraham Isaac and Jacob unless you’re born of that lineage You are not Jewish Off here we have Benjamin in Clearwater wedding of the church in heaven or hell. Well, obviously will be in heaven The church is the body of Christ comprised of all believers from Pentecostal the Rapture and will be raptured up to meet the Lord in the air.

The marriage will take place in heaven. And then at the second coming when Christ comes back, He comes back with His bride and He’ll rule and reign on the earth. Who will be invited to be people in the church? Well everybody in this age is invited to become a believer and then you are placed into the body of Christ, which is the church or the bride of Christ, and that wedding of Christ in His bride will take place after the rapture during the tribulation period in heaven, Christ will then return to the Second Coming with His bride.

That concludes today’s question and answer segment. There is no other topic that is more important to us than the gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was Dr. Hank Lindstrom’s mission to spread the gospel. For your support for Bibleline, you too can help to spread the gospel of Christ throughout the world and to reach others with the message of salvation through Jesus. Visit our website at BibleLineMinistries.org for copies of any of our resources such as Dr. Lynchtt from audio CDs on the books of Ephesians or James, plus many others.

Now join us as we return to today’s teaching series. Now if you’re looking for a feeling, can neither God respond to you or has forgiven you? Don’t. We’re never told ever to look for a feeling to have assurance. We have been looking at how that you can just pick up almost any book in the Bible and find references to the return of Christ, the fact that he’s coming back again. And so we’re gonna pick up and look at some more of those.

We were looking over last in 2 Timothy. find that wherever you look, it seems like you can just almost throw your Bible down and let it be open to any passage in somewhere there close. You will find the rapture mentioned. We’re now going to go to 1 Timothy. Turn over there, if you will, to chapter 6. And notice what it says here, beginning in verse 13, 1 Timothy chapter 6. I give the charge in the sight of God who quickeneth or make it for life all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession, that now keep this commandment without spot, un-rebutable.

And look at what it says, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Timothy chapter 6 verse 14, unrebucable until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. And then verse 15 and 16 say, which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only potentate, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, who only have immortality dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto whom no man hath seen or can see to whom be honor and power everlasting.

Amen. What a wonderful verse that is. And we’re talking there about Jesus and his appearing here in 1 Timothy chapter 6. Let’s go now over to 2 Thessalonians, the next T-book to your left and we’ll take a look there. There are numerous references to the Second Coming and Second Thessalonians. Let’s look here at chapter 2, the whole passage, 2 verse 1 through 8. He is talking about the rapture and then the second coming. He talks here about believers reading a letter that was apparently signed by Paul that the believers here thought they had been left behind the rapture.

And then it talks about in verse 3, the falling away which really in the Greek means of departure and that departure we believe is the rapture. This is a departure of the Holy Spirit, the one who hinders iniquity in this world, and then the Antichrist will be revealed in verse 3, the Man of Sin, the Son of Perdition. In verse 8, it tells us this wicked one, the Antichrist will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of his mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of his what?

But coming is coming. Is Christ coming again? He is. And we try to close out our radio program every time with Jesus is coming. It’s a major theme in the Bible, and here you see it again. Christ, who is the Lord, shall consume the Antichrist, the wicked one with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy him with the brightness of his coming. So Christ is truly coming again. Think of you at chapter 1 here in 2 Thessalonians, and it tells us here in verse 7, to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.

This is talking about the second coming, not the rapture. In verse 8, In flaming fire, taking vengeance on them, that no not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, verse 9, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power? We find Christ coming at the second coming, and notice He comes here in flaming fire, taking vengeance on those that have not obeyed the gospel, which the gospel means that the message of the death, the barrel, the resurrection of Christ.

And somebody who obeys the gospel believes that Christ died and shed his blood was buried and came back again from the dead. The one who disobeys the gospel does not believe or disbelieves that message of the death, the barrel, and the resurrection of Christ. Let’s go now over to first usylonians, and again this book is loaded. In fact, in chapter 5, it begins talking about the tribulation period and how the Lord will come back. It will be at the rapture and that tribulation period will be initiated and catch the unbelievers on this planet by surprise.

It will catch them as a thief in the night. Verse 2, for yourselves know perfectly, verse Thessalonians 5, 2, that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. And so when Christ comes at the rapture, it will catch the world by surprise, but we believers shouldn’t be surprised. Notice how it changes from they and them in verse 3, the unsaved to the believers in verse 4, where it says, but you brethren are not in darkness that that they should overtake you as a thief.

And I hear people all the times say, oh, you can’t know when Christ is coming back back because he’s going to come like a thief. And I say, wait a minute, for the unbeliever, yes, but for the believer who’s informed reading the Bible, it shouldn’t happen. That’s what it’s saying here. You brethren are not in darkness that they should overtake you as a thief. You’re all children of the light and children of the day. We are not of the night, nor of darkness.

So we have the light of God’s Word. And so we shouldn’t be surprised at all when Christ returns. When the rapture happens, we ought to say, I’ve been waiting for this. I’ve been looking forward to it. This is the day I’ve been looking forward to all my Christian life. The fact that you’d come and snatch me up to be with you. But the unsaved world don’t have a clue, and they don’t know that Christ is returning. In chapter four, we have the classic passage about the rapture.

And here it talks again about the return of Christ and how He brings with Him the souls of those that have died. Verse 14 says, if we believe, chapter 4 verse 14, that Jesus died and rose again. That’s the gospel. Even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God what bring with Him. So their souls are with the Lord, and He brings their souls with Him when He comes back. To the upper atmosphere their bodies which are spoken of as having been asleep in the grave will be raised and caught up to meet their souls in the atmosphere and souls and bodies will be reunited.

Then it says in verse 17, then we, which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them. So in other words, you have the ones that are the dead, and then you have those that are the living. We just read over in 2 Timothy 4, that Christ will judge the living, the quick and those that have died, the dead. And here you have the two groups again, those that have died, their souls are with the Lord, their souls come back verse 14 with Him, but their new bodies rise up from the earth.

And then we which are alive are going to be caught up and transformed into our new bodies on the way up. So we have here the quick and the dead, the living that get their bodies after those that have already died and get their bodies. But this is really good news. And it says here, and so shall we ever be with the Lord in verse 17. So from that moment on, you’ll never be separated from Christ again. Never. So from that moment on, you’ll be forever with Him.

And as believers, we’ll never, obviously, ever go to hell. Once you’ve trusted Christ, you’re stuck, you have to go to heaven, whether you like it or not. That seems to be the major issue. It has to be dealt with all the time. This thing about eternal security or eternal salvation. And I can never escape it. You know, it just seems to be the major issue. Every day somebody is challenging that. Whether it’s on the radio or in person over the phone or over lunch, they bring it up.

And of course, it’s a tip-off that the person who believes that is probably not saved because they’re really trusting in their works. are saying that what THEY will do between now and death, or what they will NOT do between now and death, will determine their salvation. And that makes them the Savior not Christ, and they’re really saying how they live their life or how they do not live their life between now and then will determine whether they make heaven.

That salvation might work. And obviously that tells us they’re not saved because salvation is not by works. It’s the gift of God. So So here again, chapter 5, chapter 4, all of these passages talk about the return of Christ and the rapture is in view. So these are exciting passages and they’re all the way throughout the Bible. These are obviously Righteous because they have believed on Christ and that’s why they are the sheep and why the goats are not the sheep because the goats Did not trust Christ the Savior and they’re described as the unrighteous.

Well, it says here That the righteous answered they said Lord Lord When did we see you hungry and fed thee and thirsty and gave you drink and when did we see you as a stranger and took you in naked and clove thee and when do we see you sick and visit you in prison and come unto thee and so on? And the king shall say unto them, barely I say unto you, inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren you have done it unto me.

There’s a third group here that usually gets ignored when people talk about this passage and that is these that are called the brethren of Christ. We believe that this is the population period after the Rapture, and during that seven years there will be 144,000 Jewish men that will do the evangelism during the tribulation period. And they’re all men, and these are Christ’s brethren, as Jesus Christ, is God who took on Jewish flesh. And so these that are related to Christ in the flesh, these 144,000 Jewish men will become martyred for their faith in Christ, but they will be obviously imprisoned and they’ll be obviously having a difficult time making it.

They’ll be naked and clothing and they’ll be hungry and they’ll need to be fed. And guess who takes care of them? Well these that are righteous or these that are saved, they get saved during the tribulation period and they get saved through the evangelism of these 144,000. They have compassion on these that have brought the gospel to them and so they visit them and they feed them and they clothe them and they care for them and so they treat them well.

Whereas they lost, the sheep have no compassion upon the 140,000 but are probably just as glad that they’re gone, them, that they are imprisoned, or that they die, and so on, and become martyred. And so the works that they do are not works to save them, which is obviously plain in the Bible, because works cannot save us, and our deeds are not able to bring us righteousness, our best righteous deeds, according to Isaiah 64, are filthy rags. So obviously here, these are sheep, these are the righteous, these are the believers that are grateful to the Jewish brothers in a sense of Christ who are evangelizing and brought the gospel to them so that they can be saved.

And so that’s why they care for them, but they are not saved because they do that. They do it because they naturally do that. And notice they weren’t even aware that they were doing it. They said, when did this happen? When did we feed thee and so on? And he says, in as much as you’ve done it under these, the least of my brethren, you’ve done it under me. So Christ is talking about that. And so this is the judgment of the nations and what happens here.

All unbelievers are cast into the lake of fire. They are destroyed and the believers alone are then invited to come into the kingdom, the thousand year reign of Christ. And so the thousand years begins with all believers, all unbelievers, the goats are cast into hell. For the goats to become sheep, they have to have a new birth, they have to become born again, they have to trust Jesus as their Savior, and obviously they don’t. And anybody who lives through the tribulation period and has not trusted Christ will not survive.

They will all be slain by Christ and they’ll be cast into the everlasting lake of fire. and only believers will enter into the morning. God bless, keep looking up, Jesus is coming, and we believe He’s coming soon. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
