Don’t forget this program stream to the internet, a lot of folks are using the internet to hear this program again and again, and it’s there for your convenience at whatever time. I have a lot of people that tell me when they come home from work in the evening because they can’t hear the complete program they’re in their car or they’re in their truck or things are going on or their distractions at work. So they like to go home in the evening and after dinner at their leisure they go and turn on a computer and they’re able to listen to the Bibleline program of that day without distraction and maybe you’d like to do that.

You can do it. Go to BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. Click on the, I think the best way you can get three places to click there but you can click on the TV set and that page that comes up will say on the right side click here for Bibleline radio on the left side. It’ll say click here for Bibleline television. that simple so you can get your choice between our television programs and our radio programs right there on the internet. BibleLineMinistries.org and we have tons of other things.

We have the Bible there. You can search it. You can go to the Concordant, so look up the original words. You can actually scroll down and be reading the Bible and have it read to you at the same time. There are five different readers you can choose from. You can find a voice that is suitable for you and listen to it. I like to do that where I can read and hear it at the same time. And that’s neat when you read it.

Maybe you can read it out loud while the other guy is reading it out loud to you. And I think it helps cement the word in your head. You might give that a try. And we’ve got a lot of good things on there. Much more than we take time to explain here on the radio. But our website is really quite the thing. And I want to think David, who is my webmaster who does such a great job. He’s probably listing right now and he does all that work up in Virginia for me and it’s amazing the work that you can do now by way of internet.

You can be almost anywhere in the world. It’s the World Wide Web, isn’t that what they say. Our TV programs are there and also our Sunday morning worship is there. So we’re glad that we’re able to be a blessing when you’re not able to find a good church or actually get out, maybe you’re shut in, you can watch on the internet. Give it a try, Biblemindministries.orgio.com. We’re gonna take a look at the Bible for a few minutes and then we’re gonna take our collars.

You’re welcome to call us here at 1-800-576-3771. I’m going to talk about Acts 2.38. Perhaps there is no verse in the New Testament so misinterpreted and so misunderstood as Acts 2.38. Those who would add works to salvation, that is, add works to salvation which is by faith alone, use Acts 2.38 as their prooftext. Especially those groups that teach water baptism is necessary for salvation. They try to use Acts 2.38 to support their view. Well what does Acts 2.38 really mean?

say and we’re going to talk about that. And by the way, there are 10 baptisms taught in the New Testament. Most of them don’t involve water. Most of them don’t involve any liquid. Let me just give you some of my list and you can call and we can send out this list to you. But there are 10 baptisms plus I have a CD on two messages we combine on one CD called the 10 baptisms of the New Testament. One is the baptism of John the Baptist.

Another is the baptism of fire. Another is the baptism of death. Another is the different, many different baptisms of the Old Testament. Another is believer’s baptism. Another is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Another is the baptism of Jesus Himself. Another is the baptism of Moses. is a baptism called a baptism of pots and pans, that’s right, you heard me right. And the tenth one is the baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. And so if you don’t know that there are ten different baptisms, the problem becomes when people hear the word baptize their minds lock up and they think water, water, water, water, water, water, water, water, water, they just go right to water.

And unless you are a careful student of the Bible and read the context carefully, you might just see the word baptize and your mind will go water, water, water, water, water. When it’s not water, there are ten different baptisms so you have to be able to distinguish that’s what’s called rightly dividing the word of truth. You know in 2 Timothy 2, 15 it says study to show thyself approved, of course that’s at the judgment seat of Christ where rewards are given, as a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

That means to set the truths of God’s word in right order. Are you capable of doing that? Well, hopefully by listening to Bible line, you’ll learn how to do that. I’ve had so many people tell me, wow, I have learned how to read the Bible for myself. I have learned how I can take a passage and figure out what it’s saying. And this is the secret. It really is to be able to distinguish what the passage is talking about and when you have ten baptisms that can cause a little bit of a problem.

Well, let me read Acts 2.38. It says Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Well, there are two things that really need to be explained. First of all, Repent has to be defined. comes from the Greek word metanoia, which means a change of mind. The Greek word for repentance does not mean to turn from sin, or it does not mean sorrow for sin as so often is taught.

Repentance in salvation means a change of mind from any idea of religion that man might have to be saved and accepting God’s plan of salvation, which is by faith without works. Nowhere in the scripture does the phrase, quote, repent of sin, unquote, appear. It’s just not in the Bible, not once. Not amazing, not once. And how many times have you heard a preacher say, repent of sin? It’s not even in the Bible, not even in the Bible. And it doesn’t make any sense because if you understand the true meaning of the word repent, it means to change your mind.

Now I don’t know about you, but I was raised as a little boy right on up to think that sin was wrong. If I had to repent of sin and use the correct definition of the word repent, I would change my mind about sin and that would mean I guess, in my case, since I was always thought it was wrong, that I would say sin is wonderful. What have I been missing out on? Wow! I thought it was wrong.

Now, if I change my mind about it, I guess I would, the alternative solution is I would say Sin is wonderful and of course that’s totally crazy but I’m just pointing out that the phrase repent of sin doesn’t make any sense at all if you rightly define the word repent from the Greek word metanale which means to change your mind. It does not mean to turn from sin. In the book of Acts in chapter 20 it says, Repentance as a change of mind toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

So saving faith includes that change of mind which is called Repentance. When you trust Christ you do repent. You change your mind from whatever you were previously trusting in. In Acts 2.38 this repentance is a change of mind about who is Jesus Christ. Peter had concluded his message in Acts 2.38 by saying, therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus, the one whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ. The point made by Peter was that Jesus, or the Jews rather, had crucified Jesus because they thought he was a fraud and a posture, not the Savior that the Scriptures had promised.

And so Peter is saying that the very same Jesus that they had crucified had proved his resurrection that he is both the Lord, that is Jehovah or Yahweh, and Christ, or he is the Messiah. So when Peter asked for repentance, he was asking them to change their mind about Jesus and recognize that Jesus Christ is God and human flesh and the promise Savior of the Bible. Then, of course, then he says, be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Well, the word baptize means by definition to wash, to cleanse, to fully well. Coming from the Greek word baptizo and it doesn’t always mean with water as we mentioned a moment ago. There are ten different baptisms in the New Testament. Now if you read this verse carefully, it says be baptized every one of you not in water, not in some other substance, but it says in the name, in the name, in the name of of Jesus Christ. So this really could read the baptized or washed or cleansed or fully wellmed every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ.

So isn’t there cleansing power in the name of Jesus Christ? The answer of course is yes. In 1 Corinthians 6 and 11 it talks about many of the Corinthians being a long list of different sins that they were involved with and it says in such were some of you, but you are washed, you are sanctified, you are justified in the name, in the name. So here talks about a washing, a cleansing, a baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

So basically, Acts 2, 30 is saying, change your mind about who Christ is and be baptized or washed, cleansed every one of you in the name or in the authority that Jesus Christ gave for the remission of sins and you’re going to receive the Holy Spirit. So that’s really what it’s talking about. Talking about the same thing we’ve always said here at Bibleline that we’re saved by faith and not by works. When you trust Christ, when you change your mind about who He is and what He did, trust Him as your Savior, your cleanser washed in the name or in the authority that Christ gave at Calvary.

I’m Dr. Ankerman Klinstram, this is Bibleline. We’re excited to be with you. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We have most of all of our lines lit up. We’ve got a lot of off-air questions we’ll try to get a hold of and take care of today. We have Antonio in Spring Hill, Florida and Antonio, welcome to Bibleline your own year. I have a question. I’m going to tell exactly how what the Bible made. In terms of you know, you had John Lucas.

I know they did all this in different times. So exactly how would the Bible put together? It’s a great question. Basically, the Bible was written by authentic spokesperson for God. That is, in the Old Testament, a prophet and like Moses. When he wrote, he was accepted as God’s man, God’s prophet, and they accepted his words as being the words of God. So when they took his books, they put them in what was the Ark of the Covenant, and each successive prophet that wrote, also was accepted as they wrote as being the word of God because they were authentic spokespersons for God recognized by the people who could be such and so they accepted the New Testament the same way.

All the apostles who wrote the New Testament were authentic spokespersons for God and their writings were accepted as scripture. And we We find that Peter talks about Paul’s writings being scripture over in 2 Peter chapter 3. And we find that Luke’s writings are ascribed as scripture by Paul and so on. And so they were all accepted at the time. In fact, Paul, when he is addressing the people at Thessalonika in 1 Thessalonians chapter 2, he makes this remarkable statement, which is worthy of note.

If you have your Bible open there Antonio 1 Thessalonians 2.13 Paul says for this cause Also, we thank God without ceasing because when you receive the Word of God, which you heard of us, you received it not as the Word of men, but as it is in truth the Word of God, which effectively worketh also in you that believe. So there Paul says, you accepted my words as being God’s Word. And so each book was added as it was written, the last book being the book of Revelation, that concluded the whole book and nothing more is to be added or taken from it.

And that’s kind of a summary. All the councils that have met down through time never decided what books would be in the Bible. They simply affirmed that what we have, beginning with the Council of Nicaea in the 4th century, they said that the 39 books in the Old Testament, the 27 books that we have in our New Testament, are indeed the Word of God. And each excessive council down through time has agreed. These are the books that are the Word of God and And nothing has changed.

Each book was accepted as it was written. Oh, okay. Was there anyone who ever wrote a script that was not accepted? Well, they wrote different books and they were not accepted. Yeah, there’s a whole lot of even false writings called the pseudopigrapha. That means false writings. And included in those are, of course, the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Judas and a lot of these things that are prated out now on the Discovery or History channel. I would not deal with those.

They were written much, much later. The gospel of Judah’s written about the fourth century. So it was, or at least two or three centuries after Christ. And obviously, disagree and contradict what we have in our Bible. So they could not be scripture. And I don’t think Judas obviously could have written it 200 years after Christ was here. He committed suicide when he betrayed Christ. He was a dead man. Okay. Thank you. You’re welcome, Antonio from Spring Hill Florida. That’s great.

We have Benjamin in Clearwater and Benjamin. Welcome to my blind Good morning, Dr. Hank We like to know about First of John chapter three I’ve said has seen Belong to He was a very good devil, but in verse 9 say, the people of God do nothing. I would like to know if that is before, if he is talking about our spirit and also if that is before we came to Jesus and born again. Thank you. Thank you Benjamin and we will answer that right now.

First John 3-9 has caused a puzzle for many people. It says in first John 3-9, who is whoever is born of God does not commit sin. And the word practice really isn’t there. The Greek word for practice is a totally different word. The word here is poeo, and it means to commit a single act. So it’s saying here, whosoever is born of God to not commit a single act of sin. But yet in 1 John 1, 8 it says, if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not innocent.

It almost seems like we have a contradiction here. But what’s going on here is that we have a new nature that 1 John 3, 9 is talking about, That is not capable of sinning once we trust Christ. So it speaks here about the new birth notice Whose whoever is born of God? That’s the new birth Does not commit a single act of sin Speaking of the new nature that we have is not capable of sinning for his seed that is God’s seed Remaineth in the believer and he cannot sin that last phrase is very clear.

He cannot sin because he’s born of God So I have a new jet new nature that is not capable of sinning. At the same time I have an old nature that desires to sin. The Bible talks about the conflict between the two and even Paul, the apostle, 25 to 30 years after he was saved, describes this conflict between his old nature and the new one. I’m going to turn to Romans 7 where Paul talks about this struggle where the believer has to make a choice as to which nature he will allow to control his life.

He says in verse 18 of Romans 7, I know that in me that is in my flesh, that’s the flesh nature, dwelleth no good thing. Wow. So here he is, saved almost 30 years. And he says, I know that in me that is in my flesh dwelleth no good thing. For the will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I find not. Look at this verse now in verse 19 of bromin seven where paul says the good that i would i do not but the evil that i would not that i do and then he explains there’s a a warfare going on between the flesh He says in verse 22, I delight in the law of God after the inward man.

But he says in verse 23, I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. So he talks about a flesh nature and he talks about a new nature, the inward man and they are in conflict. And one wants to do good one and wants to do evil with Christians, struggles with us. and that’s what he’s talking about there in first John.

So I hope that helps and answers your question for you. Benjamin, we appreciate that call. We are gonna take now Brad in Clearwater, Florida. Brad, you’re on the air. Good morning, Pastor Lindstrom. I have a question for you. God was a crew with a cane, Judas is scary it and that one thief on the cross because of not because of their actions but because of uh… they did not met an oai the uh… sin that was handed down to them from uh…

adam i’ll hang up and listen to your response on radio well the bottom line you have read is that none of them uh… believed on god’s plan of salvation through christ uh… kane rejected the lamb you know able brought a lamb a picture of christ who would be slain in bloodshed to pay for sin, and by that he demonstrated, according to Hebrews 11-4, that he was already saved, but he was giving a picture of Alfred Nett’s sacrifice of the Savior that he had trusted in.

And we find, of course, Judas, John 664, never believed, and because of his unbelief, his rejection of Christ as Savior was never saved. Judas was a disciple, which which is scary, that you can be a disciple and not be a believer and you can be lost. So there are many who are attempting to be saved by their works and their discipleship, but yet have never trusted Christ as their only means of reaching heaven. So Judas was lost on that basis and throughout the Bible, those that are lost, every one of them are lost because of unbelief, not because of the sins that they committed.

Jesus said in John 3 18, he to believe it’s not is condemned already because he hath not believed, not because of any sins that he’s committed, but because of the sin of unbelief, because Christ died to pay for every sin you’d ever commit in your whole lifetime. And when you reject the provision Christ has made, that’s the unpardonable sin. We have Benjamin now in Clearwater, Florida, and Benjamin, welcome to Bibleline. one is the tank. As you know, they antiquized going to see it in the temple.

But in the millennium, they describe our law going to see it in the temple also. That temple is the same temple, or that going to be another temple. If that is going to be another temple, will you please Can you turn the work and find that 10 point in the Bible, please? Thank you. All right. It’s going to be the same temple. The antichrist in the tribulation period after the rapture will interrupt the sacrifices that will be resumed again during the tribulation period and he’ll go into the temple.

Second Thessalonians 2 4 tells us that he will go into the temple and their proclaim that he’s gone and demand to be worship. But when Jesus comes back, it is second coming, he will cleanse that temple and establish his worship from that temple and he will sit in that temple. Obviously he will cleanse it and he will also I think refurbish it so that that temple will become the most glorious of all the temples and that will be the third temple.

That’s Malachi chapter 3 verse 1 and there are other verses but Jesus will come back and it will be to his temple and he will cleanse it of the desecration by the Antichrist and establish his rule on the earth from there. Thank you so much from Benjamin in Clearwater and we’re now going to go to, let’s see here, Tom in Lakeland, Florida and Tom, welcome to Bibleline Your On The Air. Hi Dr. Lynch, my question is this, in the New Testament in a couple of places it says elders and the deacons should be the husband of only one wife and I’ve been divorced before and I wanted to do some service in the church but I wonder if that one wife met because of the old days monogamy or you know it meant you never could be divorced.

I believe that you can never be divorced it’s a husband of one wife For the lifetime. That doesn’t mean you cannot serve and you cannot serve in the church. It doesn’t mean that at all But those particular offices. I don’t believe you can be divorced and serve in those capacities because I think that is the role models for the families of the children and When the children and when the families in the church say well the pastor’s been divorced or hey Several of our deacons have been divorced that it’s okay then to be divorced and I think that’s the message in God wants to keep the sanctity of marriage.

He wants to keep that preserved within the Church. But we have a lot of men in our Church that have been divorced, that are serving in many different capacities, and really richly being used by the Lord. So you need to be creative and find out where God can use you. And there’s lots of opportunity without actually holding those offices. So that’s what I would seek. And I believe that is the answer. commentary about polygamy to you know i was wondering if that’s what they meant because of david and some others at that multiple wives you know yeah but that’s not what’s talking about there in the new testament and of course david and solomon both were wrong in having multiple wives and they had the problems that went along with it if you read how god that chasing them because of that and obviously solomon lost the kingdom

and uh… became really a god became very angry with solomon because of what happened with his wives Well, we have to go to break and we’ll come back and do a second half hour. This is Bible and I’m Dr. Englund’s from and I want you to stay tuned. We’ll take a short break. We’ll come right back and we’ll do a second half hour. So don’t go away. We’ll be right back after this short break. Go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment to pledge your support for Bibleline.

Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And it’s great to be with you today. I’m Dr. Englund. This is ByBlind coming to you live from our studios right here at Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Love to have you come by and visit with us. Please do come on a worship day, come by during the week, visit our resource center, open every day till 4 to 30. If you’re out of town, you can go to the website, Bibleline Ministries.

We had a couple cancellations, health and other things. And so we’ve got a place for you. We’d love to have you go.

You just need to call in and say yes and we need to have you do three things. You have to get a passport which is easy to do. You have to pay the $26,000 which is a complete price for airfare and food and hotels and everything and round trip from your departure city and then pack your suitcase. It’s just that simple. So three things pack your suitcase, get a passport and pay the twenty six hundred dollars and you’re on board with us.

We’re going to fly away to Israel and walk where Christ walked. It’s going to be exciting. I’ll be the right with you. We’ll be studying the Bible on location throughout the day. be just a fantastic time. Again, I want to thank all of you who pray for and support Bible and your gifts are indispensable. We could not have this program without you. That’s the truth. I’ll tell you it’s impossible for us to have this program unless you are part of it.

So consider giving a gift to Bible and keeping us on the air and we hope that you will do that and you can do it by credit card over the phone or you can call our operators and they’ll be glad to send you in number with our address, penitometers or recite the address slowly so you can copy it down and just mail a gift to Bibleline. It’s just our lifeline. You are the ones who keep the program going. And again, of course, if you’re not saved, definitely we want you to come to know Christ as Savior.

We have a wonderful CD that if you’re curious about how to be saved and you’re not saved, And this CD will just really make it so simple, called How Permanent is Your Salvation. I had a young man last prayer meeting come up to me after the service and he said, I want to know how to be saved. I walked him down the hall and in five minutes he wouldn’t save. He trusted Christ as Savior. And it’s exciting to be able to lead people to Christ.

So this will teach you how to lead someone to Christ or it will lead you to Christ if you would listen to this CD. If you have somebody you’re trying to evangelize, you definitely ought to order. We’re going to go back to the stations that have been on break into the second half of my blinds. So don’t go away. Keep your radio dial tuned right where it is or go to the internet. And catch the full program there.

Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for that break and we’re in the second half of Bibleline in the second half hour. Great to be with you. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios at the Calvary Community Church. Church where I’m the pastor. And again, we look forward to being with you every day.

Tune us in every day. We’re on in the Tampa Bay area seven days a week. And in other areas, they play us at different times of the day. In Nashville, they play us for free in the middle of the night from one to two in the morning. So, you know, folks up that way, tell them to set their alarm and get up in the middle of the night and listen to us then. So, we’re on all different kinds of times and we hope that you will pass the word along to your friends to tune in to Bible and if you go to my website you’ll see all the different places where we’re on the air and the times of those broadcasts which I hope are current and we’ll keep you up to date on that.

But in any case we are just glad that you’re listening today. Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you for being a part of us today and if you’d like to put us on your prayer list we would appreciate that. We certainly covet the prayers of Christians knowing that God hears and answers the prayers of believers. We want you to put us on your prayer list. Pray for us daily. Some tell me that they pray every day for Bible and pray for me personally and I sure appreciate that.

That really means a lot to me because I believe in prayer and I believe God answers prayer and I certainly want as many Christians praying for me as I possibly can get in. I think a lot of what happens is really through the prayer that the God’s people bring up to the Lord. And would you pray for us? Also would you consider giving a gift to Bibleline? We really don’t have the finances to be able to do what we’re doing.

And so we rely upon our audience to be able to do that. We don’t have any subscribers. We don’t have any pledges. We don’t have a piggy bank. We don’t have a reserve account. I don’t get paid to be on the radio. We really are probably very efficient with the money that comes in here because we’re able to spend almost all of it directly on airtime. And of course we have equipment costs and phone bills and satellite time and all kinds of other things.

But otherwise the overhead is much lower because we have no salaries. Isn’t that great? So you can know that if you invest in Bible hang, that you’re getting the most value for your money and as far as the outreach, we reach people every day. I got a wonderful thanks the other day from a fellow that said he was 41 years old, been raised in church all of his life and just got saved two weeks ago through Bibleline. I heard a fellow yesterday tell me he started off in church at five years old and went to many different churches with very active in his churches and at 76 he got saved through Bible and can you imagine all those years between five years old and 76 going to all kinds of churches actively involved and had positions in those churches and wasn’t saved.

That’s called malpractice. How can churches fail their people by not leading them to this wonderful simple message that all you have to do is come and drink of the water of life which is offered free Whosoever, believeth in Christ, should not perish, but have everlasting life. Well, I know what it was like, at least partly, because I was 18 years old when I got saved, and I never heard how to be saved in the church I was raised in.

And I thought at that, boy, that was a long time to be in church, to be active. And I was acting even in the church. I was the youth leader. I had gone through confirmation. It was baptized and all kinds of things, but never saved. And neither were my parents and my brothers and sisters. We were all lost in a church where I think everybody was lost. Boy, the blind were leading the blind. And so Bibleline is all about getting this message out so that people can understand this wonderful message, the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ, the message of His death, burial and resurrection.

I hope you’ve trusted Christ. But if you are a believer, could you help us reach others with this wonderful message? In a sense, we’ll be your mouth. If you could be the financial support, we would partner together, which is what we do. You will help us be able to get this message out further and further into all the world. Pray for Bibleline and consider. If you would, praying for us and also giving a regular financial gift to Bibleline to keep us on the air.

If you call our operators, I’ll tell you how you can do it over the phone by credit card and or how you can mail it in and they’ll be glad to send you an envelope with the address already on it. Well, we have a number of people waiting to get on the air and we’re gonna go right to first of all Craig in Richmond, Virginia and Craig welcome to Bibleline you are on the air I’ll answer that for you and thank you Craig, you know the answer really is not necessarily that they would hear it but the Holy Spirit is convicting every man of his need, and God implants in every person a knowledge that exists.

In Romans 1 19 it says that which may be known of God is made known in them, for God hath showed it unto them. In other words, there is no such thing as a born atheist. You have to be taught atheism. But verse 20 then goes on to say because the invisible things of him are clearly seen being understood by those things that he has made, even as eternal power in Godhead so that they are without excuse. No one is going to have an excuse.

Now here’s the key. The Bible promises anybody who seeks or wants to know the true living God will find him. Jeremiah 29, 13, one of many, but that’s my favorite. It says, and ye shall seek me and find me when ye shall search for me with all your heart. I remember his little boy playing hide and seek. In that case, you tried not to be found, but God said, if you seek me, you’re going to find me. I’m not hiding.

And I’ll get the message to you. And he promises to get the message to you before you die. And so there are some wonderful passages, but I would read Romans 1, 19, and 20 in particular. I would read Jeremiah 29, 13. And then in the book of Acts you have wonderful examples of people that were seeking that found. And in Acts chapter 10 you have a Roman soldier, probably born and raised in Italy, and he’s on foreign duty in Israel, keeping the peace there for the Roman government.

And there he’s seeking, and God sends Peter to him and he gets saved. And there’s example after example, in Acts chapter 8 you have the man from Africa, the Ethiopian. He’s seeking and Philip is led over to him and leads him to Christ. Then the Bible is full of examples of seeking people, finding the truth and that’s how God works. Thank you Craig in Richmond, Virginia. I hope that helps get you on your way. We have an article I’ve written called What About the Heathen?

It’s on my website you can download it and or you can call in and I’ll mail it to you free of charge. We have Pastor Jim in Oldsmar, Florida and Pastor Jim. welcome to the Bible and you’re on the road. You have to turn your radio down because I hear the radio program. All right, all right, Jim, you’re on there. Pastor Hank, I’ve been preaching for 35 years and my question is, in my studies on seven day events, my question is, is theirs works?

Salvation by works or salvation by grace? From what I’ve studied, it seems to be works. Well, I would wholly agree with you. What they will say, they talk out with a fork in tongue because they talk about grace but you know LNG white and the seven Adventists believe in this investigative judgment supposedly that in 18 whatever it was Christ didn’t come back to the earth they had sent a date from me come back to the earth but they said the date was right but the event was wrong and they invented this investigative judgment where Christ supposedly is in the holy of holies and he’s weighing your works and my works in the balances to see whether we’re worthy of grace.

In other words, basically you’re saved by grace but you have to work to get the grace and it’s all by works. You have to keep the staff of the commandments and basically you can lose your salvation. Of course, they deny hell. They believe in soul sleep. They have so many doctrines that are wrong. I don’t think they’ll ever recover themselves from it unless they burn all the books by Lindsey White and get free of that and just read the Bible.

Well, thank you very much. I appreciate your program and we’ll be talking to you later. And we’ll be probably supporting you and God bless you and thank you for your time. Thank you, Pastor Jim and Olds, isn’t it wonderful? We know we have a lot of pastors that listen and many come by and get some of our tracks and resources that are helpful. And God bless you. We’ll be praying for you. Pastor Jim and Oldsmark, we’re now going to go to Dave in Albany, New York, and Dave, welcome to Bibleline.

Hey, Dr. Hank, how are you doing? Good. Listen, I just want to ask you why it is that you’re so kind to the Frederick because are they free to enroll in gospel? I mean, can’t we just say that they’re lost because they are free to enroll in gospel? Well, you know, I try to keep myself contained a little bit because, you know, the Bible is very clear that when you cross over certain lines, you’re in trouble with God and a lot of doctrinal positions today are clearly wrong according to the Bible.

And I tried to instruct people in the Bible so that they can recognize those false positions and recognize that they should have no part with them. So I would recommend that you become very familiar with your Bible, and when you find you’re in a church or sitting under bad doctrine, that you would, as the Bible says, have no fellowship with the unproof of works of darkness, but it says avoid them. And so we’re gonna come out from among them and be separate, and hopefully you can find a good church which is right on target with all these doctors in God’s word.

They’re hard to find. I know that. Are you sure welcome? And I try to just be positive and teach the word. We have Chris in plant city Florida and plant city is right now I guess harvesting all those strawberries. I’m taking my call. You’re welcome. Quick question. This is something that baffles me. When someone approaches Jesus and calls him good, Jesus deflects the question saying, why do you call me good? There’s no good, none good, but God. And I was wondering if Jesus, because he does proclaim that I and the father are one, and if he lived a sinless life, why would he deflect when somebody called him good?

Why would he do that? And I’m just going to hang up and listen to your answer. Alright. I think it’s twofold. I think first of all, he’s pointing out that we’re all sinners. There’s none good but one that’s God. Secondly, that he is God. And Jesus is that sinless man at the same time being God who came and took on human flesh. So he is the God man. So I think he’s doing a twofold thing. I didn’t realize until the night I got saved.

I had never heard that Jesus was God. I also didn’t know that everybody had sinned. I knew that I was a sinner. And I was in a teenage Bible study at 18, and about 50 teenagers or more were all gathered together. And most of them carried Bibles, and I was just really out of place. I felt, what am I doing here, and why am I here? And the leader of the study said, how many here have never told a lie in your life would you raise your hand?”

Well, I sat on my hand because I knew I couldn’t raise my hand to that question, but I looked around the room expecting hands would go up all over the place. Why? These were the Bible carrying, you know, religious teens, and I said, boy, there’s going to be hands everywhere. There’s got a lot of goody goodies in this group, and they’re going to raise their hand. Nobody raised their hand. That was the big shock to me. And then, of course, I saw the verse in the Bible that all have sinned and have come short of the of God.

It was like the light was coming on for me. I said, wow, you know, the Bible says all of sin and sure enough, here we have even in this group, which is the Bible-carrying good group supposedly, where I thought the room was full of good goodies. That’s what I called them back in those days as a teen. And here they were all unable to raise their hand when asked the question, have you ever told a lie? And nobody could confess that they had not.

And so that’s the way it is. Chris, I think that’s an essential area to begin with when you’re leading some of the Christ. They have to realize that their sinners and to be able to enter heaven, you have to be as good as God. And Jesus is God. And when you trust in his substitutionary death, there are two things that go on. His blood pays for your sin and then his righteousness is credited to your account. I love that hymn.

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. It’s twofold. If you think about those words, that hymn writer had it right. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood. That’s where he paid for your sin and washed our sins at the cross. And then his righteousness, the second part where his righteousness is then transferred to the account of the believer and the believer is seen as righteous when they trust Christ. Maybe you don’t think about the words of the hymns you sing, but that’s a beautiful one.

That hymn writer had it right. My hope is built on nothing that’s twofold. The Jesus blood and his righteousness. So his blood took away our sin, but then that’s not enough. You have to have his righteousness in heaven. And once you trust Christ, his blood takes away your sin and your account is credited with his righteousness. Thank you for calling in Chris and I hope that helps answer the question somewhat. We’re going to go to some all fairs right now.

But the phone number if you want to call in is 1-800-576-37717. We want to talk about a question here from Tim in West Jefferson, Ohio. calls in and leaves this question offline and he says, would Jacob bless Ephraim and Manassas in Genesis 48? Was this referring to the nations of America in England? And the answer is no. That is, of course, the line of Joseph. He had two sons, Ephraim and Manassas, and they got a double blessing because of Joseph.

Joseph, but it has nothing to do with America and England. Thank you, Tim, for that question. I hope that is satisfactory, but certainly it has nothing to do with us today. In Tampa, Diane calls in and leaves this question off here. My brother wants to know, what point does a fetus embryo baby receive a soul or spirit? Is it a conception or birth? And I believe the answer is conception. And Jesus obviously was the God-man from conception. I think that’s very clear in the scripture and then numerous other verses also John the Baptist the same way.

In fact John the Baptist apparently jumped around in the womb when Mary came carrying the baby Jesus in her womb. That’s a very interesting, apparently, acknowledgement of who Christ was there even before either one were born. Mr. Anonymous calls in and I have no idea what city this call is coming in from but they leave an off-air question. I really have to disagree that children will be not caught up in the rapture because I doubt a loving God would take their parents and leave the children to non-believers here on the earth.

Well, you know, there is no verse that proves it either way and I hope you’re right. How does that make you feel? I really do. I hope you’re right, but I don’t believe so and I try to be honest but it’s my opinion because there is no verse that could say definitively this is the way it’s going to be. So I try to be honest. Sometimes I get stunned for being honest and being straightforward with people. I tell tell you what I really believe, I don’t hedge on it, the popular answer would be to tell you as some evangelists do that even your pets are going to be raptured.

Oh, it would be fairly those pets behind when the owners are believers that are caught up in the rapture. I don’t believe that and I think that’s just caving into what people want to hear. I don’t do that and thank you for your call and I try to do my very best to give you a straight answer whether people like the answer or whether they don’t like the answer. I believe we have to be true to the Bible as best we can, but I have to tell you this is my opinion.

I cannot prove my position and if you can prove your position, give me the Scriptures and I will on the air apologize for saying the other side of this point here. Thank you Mr. Anonymous, wherever you are, get back to me. Alright, we have John in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Why is there so much disagreement in the Church about the Rapture? We are members of the Lutheran Church, the Missouri Synod, and they seem to not agree with the concept of the Rapture.

The problem is, is that they are going backward in their theology. Reformed theology or Reformation theology goes back to the teachings of people several hundreds of years ago. We’ve made a lot of advances in learning in God’s Word as we approach the Lord’s return. And so I believe why go backward, shapers, creepers. I don’t want to go return back to the doctrines of the Church I was raised in, but most of the churches of the Reformation came out accepting the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church that God was done with Israel and that the Church has replaced Israel.

So obviously they don’t believe in a rapture, in fact many of them believe in praterism which says that Christ has already returned. He returned in 80, 70 in all his power and all his glory but nobody saw him of course and this is the craziness that’s out there. So basically almost every Reformation church picked up the baggage From the Roman Catholic Church at the time of the Reformation and carried it down to this present. Some, of course, have realized that a lot of those doctrines are wrong.

For example, infant baptism. There’s no such thing in the Bible as infant baptism. And look at how many Reformation churches are sprinting their babies. That’s just absolutely wrong. There can be no support from that found anywhere in the Bible, older New Testament, and yet infant baptism was one of those doctrines, the doctrine of no rapture and the fact that God has done with Israel and that we’re in the kingdom now all that bad teaching of Preterism and so on all came out of the Reformation So if you are believing any type of Reformation theology or Reformed theology is what it’s called You’re going backward in my estimation You need to move forward and go to the Word and see what it says and the Bible is very clear that there is a Rapture Christ comes back.

Alright, we have anonymous. Did Jesus turn the water, the wedding, water at the wedding of Kana in the wine or grape juice? And the answers he turned it into wine and it says, is there proof? And apparently the testimony of the people there said, why did the owner leave the best wine till last? So they’d already been drinking wine and now this wine was superior to what they had been drinking before, and so absolutely. The Bible doesn’t forbid wine.

The Bible forbids drunkenness. In Ephesians 5, 18, it says, be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess. So I don’t drink anything though, because I don’t want people to think, you know, especially in America, if you drink anything, people assume you get drunk. Well, I don’t smoke and I don’t drink and all those kind of things. just don’t do it and never have really I’m just thank God that I was raised in a home where they didn’t drink or smoke and I never got hooked into that stuff and I’m so glad that I never did but the Bible doesn’t actually forbid drinking but I don’t drink at all but it does forbid getting drunk so you need to recognize the difference and in Europe in many places they drink a very mild wine, which basically if you have bad water and that’s a problem around the world

today, it does prevent you from getting those little and whatever they are that get in your stomach and mess you all up what they call in the Middle East Pharaoh’s Revenge. Alright we have Dr. Anonymous. Dr. Anonymous from Dade City on the line and welcome to by one. How are you doing that pastor? All right. I don’t know what I do without hearing your voice at least once a week before. How am I buddy doing? How do I do today?

That’s good. I thought I couldn’t get to you when I’m in the already I want to come out and have a good chit chat with you on the phone. Well, I would be great. You only come in person and that would be like to meet you face to face. Of course, you know what would happen And your identity would be revealed and you’d no longer be Dr. Anonymous. I’d know who you were if you came by. You’d know who I am.

Listen, I want to ask you this. I won’t be over about talking about the children taking up. And I never did call you on that and have a feel like a dialogue. But I want to ask you this. You know what my favorite scripture in the Bible, right? I am. And Romans 10.9. I knew. I knew through 10, 15 where you started it. All right, listen, I know what you got, you know, you got all your theological concepts and I don’t want to get involved with theological dialogue because you don’t want to have one with me.

But how can I read the Bible? I don’t want to read about three scriptures. And then you could talk. All right, do it quickly. Okay, okay, okay. All right, yeah. If I confess with God, my after Lord Jesus and believe in God, God, I raise him from the deal. He said, I share you say, for with the heart, which is part of the sin to you, but with the heart, man, believe us unto righteousness with the Bible. And with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

So it basically explains itself in that area. And then I got three more words. Say, Father, scripture says, who’s there? Believe it or him? She’ll not be on sharing. Father, is no difference between Jew, Greek, The truth is that the truth is Greek and for the same law, the law is rich unto all that call upon him. Well, who said a call upon this name of the Lord shall be saved like you’d be saved. And listen to this good part.

How do they ensure they call on him in whom they… I think you’re like this. When God calls you, it’s like some call, some step up the way. God bless you and have a great day. Alright, Dr. Anonymous. I’m not too sure what the message was there, but certainly I believe the scriptures and the scriptures tell us that when we believe or trust on the Lord Jesus Christ, his death throne resurrection, we become saved. When you call upon his name, the name Jesus, which is from the Hebrew Yeshua, God who would save you, God of God.

in flesh, you receive eternal life. I’m about out of time. You haven’t trusted Christ. Just say, Lord, I’m the sinner. I don’t understand much, but I trust Christ right now as my Savior.
