Amazing as it may sound, Jesus tells us in the Bible that the message that He brought to the earth would cause division. We should not be surprised, therefore, because the Lord Jesus Christ has told us so.

Welcome to Bibleline with Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Coming to you from Calbary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Declaring God’s love through radio and television. Providing real answers to an ever-searching world. Got a question? Dial toll free at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here’s the host of Bibleline, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Well, good morning and welcome to my blind great to be with you today. Thanks for fitting into the broadcast We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church We’re on the pastor and we look forward to being with you every day Monday through Friday and also in the Tampa Bay area We’re on seven days a week at ten o’clock in the morning and in other areas We usually have an extra program sometime on the weekend you might have to check with your station as the one that might be.
In the land Florida, we also run from 9 until 10 at night every day of the week and I can be heard every evening between Adrian Rogers and Dr. David Jeremiah between 9 and 10 out of the land Florida. We’re delighted to be with you and thanks for tuning in today. It’s Friday and we’re getting ready for the weekend. I hope you’ll attend church someplace and if you are in driving distance and you don’t have a church you’d like to come.
We’d love to have you welcome you to visit with us this weekend. And of course the third Sunday a week from this Sunday will have a lunch dinner right after the morning service. You’re welcome to come and join us for lunch. And that will be right after our morning 1030 service. Bring your Bible, your appetite, your family. And be my guest and we’ll have some great eating, great fellowship, and usually some special music in the background and we’ll have a great time.
We’re also going be having a baptism this third Sunday and if you have not been water baptized by immersion since your salvation experience then we’d encourage you to get it done and if you don’t have a church or you don’t have a church where they immersed then I encourage you to maybe do it with us. You’re welcome to call and get your name on the list and that will be at 3 o’clock in the afternoon on the third Sunday of this month, the 17th, there will be a dinner following the morning worship at 10.30 and then that afternoon at 3 we’ll have the baptism at a lake just a couple of miles north of Calvary Community Church.
We’ll all motorcade up together or we can get you a map and let you just meet us at the baptism location. In any case if your baptize as an infant doesn’t count, no such thing in the Bible. If your baptize before your salvation experience doesn’t count, baptism as a testimony after your saved of how you are cleansed of your sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. If you have not been baptized since your salvation experience, then you ought to do that.
If you are in driving distance, it would like to be a part of our baptism here. We would love to have you. I would be honored and humbled to be the one to perform your baptism on the 17th at 3 in the afternoon. Wouldn’t wait any longer because we do these outdoors and it’s going to get colder and colder as we approach the winter If the Lord hasn’t come and come back. We’re gonna have some new classes here on Tuesday night It’s beginning the 19th of September and you’re welcome to get in on those classes live and be a student There is a slight charge $50 for the 10 hours of teaching And that goes to help Bible lines stay on the air So I know you’ll want to participate and that’s not a whole lot.
But if you are living in another area where you cannot physically attend, you can order the 10 CD series, which will be $5 a CD or $10, $50 for the entire series. And you can catch it wherever you are in the country. We are welcoming all of our new stations. We’re on in Memphis, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Ohio. and it looks like we may be going on in Nashville, Tennessee in about two weeks. A 50,000 water, a lot of power and will be heard all over the national area.
So that will be two stations in Tennessee. We also are now on a new station in the Pensacola area which will cover all of mobile and Pensacola, all that part of the Florida which would include Alabama and Mobile, Alabama. and that will begin on the 11th. We are now at the WNVY 1090 AM at the 10,000 watt station giving us a lot more power. So, we will not be on the former station in Pensacola nor the one we were on before in Mobile.
this one station will take care of both areas nicely. And also, I just got an email this morning from people further east in Florida in the Panhandle that are excited about now being able to ask for contact with the public. be able to hear the live broadcast instead of relying upon the internet. By the way, we’re streaming right now to the internet. Our radio program is heard all over the world. Anytime a day, seven days a week, but live also as we come out of Tampa at 10 o’clock Eastern Standard Time.
Just go to my website, BibleLineMinistries.org or .com, and you’ll be able to click on the television set in the upper right hand corner. And you’ll have a page that will have TV on the left, radio on the right. You’ll be able to click, click, click and listen and enjoy it to your heart’s content. And many people are listening. In fact, in July, we don’t have August stats yet, but we had 13,045 regulators on the Internet in the month of July this summer.
And we’re expecting that that number will continue to grow each month as more people learn about the Bible and we’ve had 143 countries log on. Plus we’re live in our broadcast down in Honduras and also we are airing our television programs in Mongolia as well as on addition at work and direct TV and so on. So that’s a little summary of what’s going on here. We’re going to get to the Bible for just a minute and if you have a Bible question or you like to call in, the number is 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. You know, the true gospel message brings division. We hear a lot about ecumenicism and churches joining together today and you might think that sounds wonderful. But you know, we really don’t have them joining together for the right reasons. You can have union and yet not unity. I always think about the story I heard about a guy who tied two cats’ tails together, threw them over the clothesline and you had union but you didn’t have unity. I think that describes well the ecumenical movement and the true gospel divides and Paul tells us that he separated himself from others based on the gospel.
In Romans chapter 1 in verse 1 as he begins he says he was separated unto the gospel of God. Now if you don’t know what the gospel is or is not then you will not be able to separate on that basis, but that’s what caused Paul to separate from someone and the Bible teaches that we are to come out from among them and be separate, that we are to practice separation based upon the Gospel message. And the Book of Romans, which is a spectacular book, 16 chapters long, defines what the Gospel is and is not.
We just finished 10 hours of teaching on the Book of Romans. You can order that CD series, which turned out to be really good. And those 16 chapters define what the Gospel is. We know in 1 16, chapter 1 verse 16 of Romans, Paul said, I’m not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for if the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth to the Jew first and also to the Greek. So we know that this message of the death and the burial and resurrection is the message that brings about salvation.
It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe of that message. Back in the book of Exodus in chapter 8 and verse 23 it says, And I will put a division between my people and my people. It has ever been so. Even from the very early pages of the Bible we find there was a division between the people of God and the unsaved. Abraham, who trusted in the Lord as his Savior, was asked to separate himself from his family and his nation in Genesis chapter 12.
Believers by virtue of the fact that they are saved and are going to heaven are separated from those unbelievers who are lost and are going to hell. Also believers in their Christian walk and lifestyle are to separate themselves from the unsaved. and Corinthian 6 17 says, wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate. Amazing as it may sound, Jesus tells us in the Bible that the message that He brought to the earth would cause division. We should not be surprised.
Therefore, because the Lord told us so, let us look at what Jesus said in Luke 12. He says, suppose ye that I am come to give peace to on the earth. I tell you no, but rather division. From henceforth there shall be five in one household divided three against two two against three the father shall be divided Against the son the son against the father the mother against the daughter the daughter against the mother the mother law against the daughter Law and the daughter law against the mother law Luke 12 51 through 53 Wherever Jesus went his message caused division and persecution in John 7 verse 43 43 we read many of the people, therefore, when they heard this saying, said of a truth, this is the Prophet.
Others said, this is the Christ, but some said, shall Christ come out of Galilee? Half the scripture said that Christ cometh out of the seat of David and out of the town of Bethlehem where David was. So there was a division. There was a division among the people because of him. We read in John 916, and there was a division among them. Again in John 1019, we read, there was a division, therefore again, among the Jews for these sayings.
Many of them said, He hath a devil. He’s mad. Why do you hear him? Jesus, by the way, is the only way to heaven as He plainly states in John 14.6. He says, I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man comeeth unto the Father but by me. The message of the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. We just quoted that a moment ago. The gospel is like a two-edged sword. For those who believe the gospel, they will be saved.
For those who reject the gospel, they will be lost. John 3 16 says it, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that who ever believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For those who believe they will have everlasting life. For those who reject Christ they will perish and not have everlasting life. So as we have seen in the verses we have quoted before, the message divides. It divides between the saved and the lost, those that are going to heaven, from those that are going to hell, those who have life, eternal life, from those who do not have life.
Christ John 5, 12 is a great verse. It says, He that has the Son has life and He that has not the Son of God has not life. It’s interesting that Jesus said to His disciples, Woe unto you when all men speak well of you. If everybody is speaking well about you, it might tell something about you’re not preaching the message of the gospel. We should not be surprise that the mixed reactions to the message of life and death.
The Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 2, For we are under God a sweet saver of Christ and them that are saved, and in them that perish to the one we are the saver of death and to death, and to the other we are the saver of life and to life. Who is sufficient for these things? 2 Corinthians 2, 15 through 16. So the gospel not only separates between the lost and the saved, but also sometimes the saved from the unsaved.
But it says also the gospel divides the world into two groups, the saved and lost, but sometimes divides Christians between those who are faithful and serving the Lord and those who are not serving the Lord. Interesting, and I’m Dr. Englundstrom and this is Bibleline. coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. We’d love to hear from you. The phone lines are open. The number is 1-800-576-3771. This program can be heard right now on the Internet. And I’m sure many thousands are listed this moment.
Welcome to the program as well as all those of you that are listing by way of broadcast. We have Thomas and Tampa and tell us welcome to my when you are on the air the problems that are you doing uh… that’s a What happens to those, the billions of people since the history of man who have not heard the the message of Christ whether it was before Christ or afterwards throughout the world. when they pass Well, you know, if they die without Christ, they’re forever lost.
But the Bible clearly tells us that God plants within every individual that’s born on this planet, a knowledge of the fact that God exists. They may not know the gospel, but they do know there is a God and therefore become responsible. And in Romans 1, 20 tells us they are without excuse. God the Holy Spirit is convicting every man of sin, righteousness and judgment. Christ is seeking the lost. It says in Luke 19, 10. The Son of Man has come to seek in to save that which is lost.
So God initiates contact with us and we become responsible therefore to seek him. And in Jeremiah 2913 it says, You shall seek me and find me when you shall search me with all your heart. So nobody will have an excuse. If you want to find the true and living God, God will see that someone will get the message to you or that you will cross the path of someone who can give that message to you. And we see example after example of that in the Bible, you have the man from Africa seeking the Ethiopian eunuch.
He’s in his chariot. He’s reading the Bible trying to find truth. God says to Philip, go over to that chariot and join yourself together to that man. Philip is led to that buried man in his chariot and leads him to Christ. We have Cornelius, a Roman soldier on duty in Israel seeking his prayers went up but he was unsaved. said your prayers would come up for a record before me. He says I want you to send men to Japa and ask for a man named Simon and Simon will be in the house of a Tanner.
And of course he sent and Peter came to his house there in Caesarea and everybody there that He had invited to his home, got saved that day. What a wonderful story of evangelism and how a seeking person finds the truth. Thomas, I hope that helps a little bit. We have an article on my internet, my Dr. Lynch from articles called What About the Heathen that goes into great detail about that. I hope that will help you. Dr. Hank, thank you.
You’ve been so helpful. I’ll talk to you later. Okay, Thomas. That was Thomas in Tampa, Florida. and we have Vinny in Hudson Florida and Vinny welcome to my line. I have trouble with that line five. I don’t think I can get many video. I’ll have to call back in on another line. One of these days we’ll have no phone problems on this planet and that’ll be a great day. We have offer questions as well. We’ll try to take a stab at answering in just a moment but we want you to know that we hoped that if you’re in the Tampa Bay area, you will attend the classes beginning on the 19th.
Mark that date down. We’ll announce probably next week the title of that class. It’ll be two hours every Tuesday night for five weeks and then we’ll announce another class and begin another series of two hours per Tuesday night for five weeks and we’ll do several classes that way and uh… that way will concentrate on one particular course two hours per night for five weeks to get ten hours of teaching in on uh… a particular topic or book of the bible i think you’ll find it great and we had a wonderful group in here for first and second the salons that we just finished in that series is available we have some wonderful books in our resource center we now have the systematic theology by Louis Ferris Shafer who founded the Dallas Theological Seminary a hundred years ago.
That four volume set retails for about $180. We have it for a gift to Bibleline of I think it’s $110. You’ll save a lot plus it is a wonderful study in Bible doctrines. We also have the kind of condensation of that called Major Bible Themes by Louis Ferris Shaper that has 52 doctrines of the Bible explained all the chapters are three to seven pages long. Really a wonderful condensation of basic Bible doctrine. Then we have Dr. Charles Ryrie’s book on theology called Basic Theology.
It’s for a gift of $30. But wow, what a nice thing to have on yourself as a ready reference to different theological doctrines that might come along your way and you’ll want some type of explanation. That’s a good one. And I’m recommending books that I find are helpful to me and they can be seen on my online bookstore and also seen on our resource sheets if you’ll call and ask for one, we’ll mail it out or you can go to the internet Bible on Ministries.org and take a look at the pictures and descriptions of our CDs, DVDs and other presentations and books and Bibles and commentors that I recommend.
that we have on our website. Take a look at that. We now have Vinnie back on the line that I think I can bring up on the air. Vinnie, welcome to my boy. Good morning Hank, how are you? Good. Good. I was studying Matthew and chapter 10 verses 37 and 38. Could you explain? expouse on those a little bit and I’ll hang up and take notes and have a great day. Thank you very much and I’ll give that a try.
Matthew 10, I’m heading that way right now. Let’s see What Vinny is asking about and if you have a question you’re welcome to dial up and Bring it to the table just one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one and Matthew chapter ten verse 38 he that Take it not his cross and follow that to me is not worthy of me He that finds it his life shall lose it, and he that loses his life, for my sake shall find it.
This is all talking about the Christian life after you become saved. We’re saved by grace through faith. It’s a gift. And the moment you trust what Christ did for you the cross, as the only means of your salvation, you trust Christ as your Savior, God saves you. But then we are to become disciples. And unless you take up the cross of Christ and proclaim Christ and follow after Christ following after what he has told us to do, you’re not worthy of being a disciple, not worthy of not being saved.
None of us are worthy of being saved and we’re made worthy based upon what Christ did for us to the cross. But worthiness for discipleship has to do with your behavior, your conduct, your surrendering of your life as a believer to live for Christ. In verse 39 it says, he that findeth his life shall lose it. In other words, if you are going to spend your life for yourself, you say, I know what I want to do and I’m going to accomplish that and you live your life for your own benefit and your own purposes, you will have lost it in the sense that it will not count for reward, for eternity.
So when you stand before the Lord to give an account. Your life will be wasted or lost, but if you live your life in the sense as the world would do it, lose your life or waste your life because you spend it for Christ. You will have found it and all that you did for Christ in this life will be rewarded in heaven. Somebody put it to music and we sing sometimes that wonderful hymn that only the The things that are done for Christ will last.
Everything else will simply pass away. The things that are done for Christ are going to bring about a way to be eternal, rewarded in heaven. And Vinnie, that’s what he’s talking about here. Once you become saved, if you want to be a worthy disciple, you’re going to have to live for Christ and be taking of his cross and following what he tells you to do. And if you live your life for your own benefit, you will have lost it at the Judgement Seat of Christ.
But if you live it for Christ, you will have found it and you will receive eternal dividends for your faithfulness to live for Christ. We have Edda in Plant City, Florida calling in off air and she says, what is holiness? Well holiness is being or living righteous and the Bible tells us as believers that that we are to live holy lives, that we are to live lives that are Godlike or Christlike. And obviously as we emulate the life of Christ, we will be living what the Bible describes as a holy life.
But yet as a believer, we will never be able to live without sin because we have a sin nature that we have inherited from Adam. And until we die and lose this body and leave this sin nature behind, we will be plagued by sin, but we can have victory over sin in our lives as we choose daily to live for Christ every day. Now positionally, Etta, we are seeing this holy the moment we trust Christ to save you. That’s right.
The word sanctify in the New Testament means to make pure and holy, and the Bible tells us by the one-time offering of Jesus Christ at the cross, you are sanctified. That means you’re made pure and holy in God’s sight. on that basis. You can enter heaven. That’s Hebrews 10, verse 10. Thank you for calling in and Anna lives out there in Plant City, Florida. If you’re listening, you’ve never trusted Jesus as your Savior. Right now you can bow your head and just say, Lord, I am a sinner.
By the way, if you’re driving, don’t bow your head and don’t close your eyes. But if you are Now, I trust Jesus Christ right now as my Savior, believing that His death and shed blood is the only means by which I can enter heaven. I trust that He died and was buried and rose again from the dead, and I trust Jesus right now to save me to be my Savior, to forgive my sins, to give me the gift of eternal life, to be my only hope of heaven, God will save you.
And as we’ve mentioned here, discipleship, make that second choice where you say, Lord, I will also now serve you not to be same, but because I am same. And you’re going to be glad you did. We have a guest on our studio today. We want to welcome Randy, who is visiting with us sitting in today. And he has a couple of questions that we’ll try to answer in the second half of the program. And maybe we’ll get a chance to answer your questions today.
So call in with him. We’re going to go to break and then come back and do the second half of Bibleline. But in the meantime, you can call in with an off-air question or get ready to call in and wait and get ready to come up on the second half of the show. I hope you attend church someplace this weekend. If you’re in driving distance, come by and visit us here at Calvary in Tampa next to Tampa’s Airport. We’re going to go to break.
So keep your radio dial tuned right here. I’m Dr. Englunds from Mrs. Bibleline. We’ll be right back. Go away Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englunds from And it’s great to be with you. Thanks for tuning in today. And I hope you’ve had a great week with us on Bibleline. And we’ve had a great week with you. And we hope that you attend church someplace this weekend. And search out for a Bible-believing teaching Church because obviously you need to go where the Word of God is believed and taught and Christ has lifted up and people wind up trusting Him as Savior and become saved and then are challenged to live for Christ and become disciples of His.
We have a sheet by the way that I’ve written. It’s on the Internet, under my articles. It’s called Beliefs that Matter that actually summarize about 25 basic doctrines that a sound Church ought to have if you are going to be looking for a Church. We hope that you will look for one that is sound in doctrine. You might just get on the phone and talk to somebody about those different issues and ask what does your Church believe on the different major doctrines.
Certainly key is the Bible being the Word of God. Key is the Trinity. The fact that God exists is three eternal separate persons. Obviously key is the Deity of Christ. salvation alone by faith alone in his death and shed blood. Key is the resurrection of Christ. Key is salvation by faith and not by works. We have about 25 basic doctrines that should be embraced by a good sound believing teaching church. By the way, we’re going to webcast our worship service in your search for a good church.
If you cannot find one, you’ll be able to watch the teaching of God’s word from Calvary Community Church. We’re about ready to let it loose another week. If not this weekend you’ll find a special page will come up on our website. We’ll announce it when we’re ready and you’ll be able to watch the webcast of our worship service on Sunday morning and you’ll be able to then go to archives and pick up past Sunday messages and watch them and hear them at the same time on the in the Internet.
Isn’t that amazing? This will be true now for anybody on the planet Earth. And as we have people now on 6 continents, 143 countries logging in to Bibleline, they’ll be able to actually see the morning worship service at Calvary. We’re excited about bringing that to you. All these things cost money if you’d like to be a partner and help us. Your gift to Bibleline would be appreciated. You can do that by mail and or by telephone and give it by credit card.
operators at 1-800 Rove-576-3771 they’ll tell you how you can become a We’re going to rejoin the stations. I’m going to break into the second half and so keep your radio dialed. Right where it is and if your station doesn’t care, go to the internet and catch the full program. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline and we’re ready to do part two. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church where I am the pastor and we look forward to being with you daily. It’s Friday, we’ve had a great week with you and I hope you’ve enjoyed the program. You can go to the Internet and listen to any or all of them on the Internet in the archive section.
Just go to the BibleLineMinistries.org website. Click on the TV set on the home page. You’ll be connected to a page that will give you on the left side television programs on the right side radio programs at the bottom of each side the archives where you can go back to past television programs or you can go to the past radio programs. You can download them, you can listen to them, you can really do so much, but check it out. And we hope that you’re excited about all that.
Again, all these things cost money. We’re about ready to webcast our morning worship service. Probably not this Sunday, maybe though, but certainly by next Sunday, I believe we’ll be up on the web and you’ll be able to watch our TV programs from anywhere on the planet Earth. And that again is going to be some cost. We’ve already been spending money here that we don’t have, but we want to get this message out in a desperate way. So if you’d like to help us, your prayers are certainly essential to us.
We covet your prayers for Bibleline and for our staff and for myself. We also would love to have you be an investor in eternity through Bibleline. I believe whatever rewards or fruit that this program bears will be yours as you pray for and as you give to Bibleline. That is a biblical principle. Paul says in Philippians 4, 17, not that I desire a gift, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. So as you invest in a ministry where God’s Word is honored and is going forth and is producing fruit in the lives of believers.
You’re going to find that you’ll share in that fruit as you give to and pray for that ministry. And we appreciate you very much and thank you for all of you who give and pray for Bible and we sense it when you pray. We really can see the hand of God working in Bible and thanks again in advance for your support and your prayers for Bibleline. We have a caller ready to go in the land Florida and I think that one just went off and maybe they dropped that call.
We do have Steve, I don’t know where Steve is calling from, Steve is calling from Sarasota, Florida and Steve welcome to I would like to give you some information as to what you just said. I don’t know what that’s all about, but thank you very much Steve for that call. You’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. In Romans 8, there are some verses that have caused some confusion, but it says in Romans 8.29, for those God foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers, and those he predestined he also He also called, those he called, he also justified, and those he justified, he also glorified.
What a wonderful passage here that gives us insight into the process that God has determined before the foundations of the earth. God is not down by time. He is the one that created time and space, the four dimensions that we live in. He is… So God naturally knows the future and he knows that there would be many who would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and he knows exactly who would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and who would not.
But he doesn’t know it because he made the choice for you. naturally knows the future because he exists in the future as well as in the past. But God before the foundations of the earth chose or predestined to save all that would believe. So he knew that there would be those that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. But then he acted and predestined that those that would believe would be saved and that they would be conformed to the likeness of his Son.
son that ultimately takes place in heaven when you will be totally and completely 100% conformed to the likeness of Christ. And we find he then gives us the process as it occurs in time. Those that he predestined he also called. That means he invited you to be saved. Now we know that God invites everybody to be saved, but those that believe that are invited to be saved are the ones that has been predestined for God’s eternal purpose. Then it says he justifies them and then he also glorifies them.
So that’s kind of the complete picture of what happens to one who believes. I like to illustrate it this way. You know the Bible says that when you trust Christ, you are placed into Christ and the Bible says in Philippians 3.9 be found in Him by faith. So when we place our faith in Christ, we’re found in Christ. Ephesians 1, 4, 3 and 4 says that before the foundations of the earth, we were chosen by God in Christ. What does that mean?
In other words, He chose everybody in Christ to go to heaven. Here’s the way I like to illustrate that. There are airplanes leaving from Tampa International Airport just a block away from our church here from By Blind Headquarters. And let’s say there’s a flight leaving this afternoon for Chicago at 3 o’clock nonstop from Tampa, Florida. Now the airline has determined that that flight will take off at 3 o’clock and go nonstop to Chicago and they’re disembarked the passengers who’ve gotten on here in Tampa.
Now it is your choice if you’d like to be on that flight or not. You can go out and buy a ticket to be on that three o’clock flight from Tampa to Chicago. But the airline has chosen that that flight will leave Tampa and wind up in Chicago. So we might say everybody in that flight is going to go to Chicago. That’s been predetermined. But it is your choice that puts you in that plane by you’re deciding you want to go to Chicago and you want to buy a ticket on that plane.
Well, when you trust Jesus as your Savior, then you have a reservation on flight Jesus. And everybody in flight Jesus will make heaven because God has already predetermined that everybody in flight Jesus leaves planet Earth, goes to heaven, and is with the Lord forever. That’s been predetermined. But whether you’re in Jesus is dependent upon your acceptance of Christ as your Savior. So when you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, then you are secured a seat in flight Jesus and God is predetermined.
Just like the airline is predetermined that the flight leaving it free goes from Tampa to Chicago. God determines everybody in flight Jesus, leaves planet Earth, goes to heaven. And of course, you have the choice whether you’re on that flight or not. Hopefully that simplifies what we’re talking here about as far as predestination is concerned. Also, X1348, those that were ordained or appointed, let me take a look at that one. Actually, let me read it first, and it says in X1348, and this is another one that confuses some people related to predestination.
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. The key thing here is the word ordained. You’ll notice it doesn’t say pre-ordained, but it says ordained. And it is really a word whenever it is used in the Bible of something that happens not in advance, but at the moment of that decision that is made and is really a determination on the part of the one who is wanting to be saved.
Let me just illustrate. Then you go to Acts 15, just two chapters away. The same word that’s translated or named is translated here, determined. You notice it is not a determination. In advance by God, but it’s a determination on the part of the participant that we’re talking about. Let me just read and I think it’ll make sense. Acts 15 verse 2 says, when therefore Paul and Barnumus had those small dissension and disputation with him, they determined. That word determined there is the same word translated or dained in Acts 1348.
Notice it says not God determined, but they determined. That was in other words a determination or a choice that they made at that particular occasion. If we read that back into Acts 1348, this would read as many as were determined to have eternal life did what? Believe. So that’s really the real meaning there. It’s not a four ordination. It’s not a four ordination by God, but it is a choice or determination made by the person himself that wanted to have eternal life.
They knew the way to have that would be to believe, and so therefore they believe. This word is also used over in 1 Corinthians 16, and let me turn to that one as well. Well, it helps shed light on how the word is used. It is never a four ordination. It is always a decision made at the point of time in the context that we’re talking about. It says in verse 15, I beseech you brethren, you know the house of Staphanas that it is the first fruits of acacia.
that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints. The word addicted there is the same word translated or dained in X1348 and the addiction here noticed they have addicted themselves. So it wasn’t a for or dating. It wasn’t something that God chose but they themselves chose to become addicted to the ministry of serving Christ. And so with something that happened in a timely fashion and the choice was made or the ordination or the determination was chosen by the person involved.
So this is the person that was determined to be saved, believe. And that answers Acts 1348. Thank you for that question. We now have John in Tampa and John, welcome to Bibleline your On The Air. Hello Hank, Amen. Good. Okay, I actually had a couple questions about a website, some things that have going on that leading the soul to Christ. What’s the means behind all that? Well, when we… Well, when we lead a soul to Christ, we can’t make anybody believe.
We can’t save anybody. All we can do is lead them to Christ. Now you find a classic example of that in John’s Gospel chapter 1 in verse 40 where Andrew got saved and then led his brother to Christ. He said that obviously Jesus has to be the Messiah. We found the Messiah which is the Christ and he leads him to Christ and Peter gets saved. So the way to do that is obviously to bring them along through the Scriptures that point out that we’re sinners, that if we paid for our sin it would be by death or separation of God and hell, that our works would never qualify us for heaven, that our works are filthy rags, that we need a Savior in order to be saved, our works cannot save us, and that the condition for salvation is the trust in that Savior, and when we trust
Christ as our Savior God saves us. From that moment on we have eternal life and can know that we have it and will never be cast out of loss. That’s basically the outline that we give there on our website which is a wonderful way of leading someone to an understanding of the gospel and how to be saved. Does that answer what you’re asking? asking? Yeah, we’re trying to do the same thing as some other websites. We have TrustJesusAlone.com. We have getting people on there.
Pretty cool. We’re trying to follow you guys with the gospel, the right words, trying to get it out. Good. And you’re welcome to use that flash video of my… of mine at the beginning of my website on the right hand side or on the bottom I think there’s a place to click if you want to use that it’s for free. We have churches across America, Christian businesses and individual Christians that are putting that video simple presentation of the plan of salvation on their website.
You can link that to your site if you want and we hope that you will. Thank you John for telling us that we pray for your great success in leading people to Christ. That’s what it’s all about. We have the entire book that we recommend so highly, the handbook on personal evangelism. There is no greater book on leading people to Christ. For a gift of $12 we can ship that out to you plus shipping. This wonderful book tells you how to open your mouth.
What to say when your mouth is open, how to close your mouth, how to talk to an atheist, an agnostic, an abolitionist, a cult member. It imagines the conversation you’ll have, what you’ll say, what they’ll say, what they’ll say, what they’ll say, what they’ll say, how to close it down and actually bring them to trusting Christ as Savior. Now that book is printed in its entirety on my website. If you go on the home page, there’s a place where it says online books.
And the first book we have there is this book and you can read it and download it for free off the website or you can get a soft paperback copy of this book. Several hundred pages for a gift of $12. I hope you’ll invest in that book. It’s a great one. You can call our 800 number and order any of the resources that we mentioned here on the program and all of that will of course help my blind somewhat toward paying the bills and staying on the air.
So check that out, handbook of personal evangelism and if you just remember PE book, Standing for Personal Evangelism, that will be enough. Our operators will know exactly what you’re talking about. Plus we have some wonderful gospel tracks that almost did a job for you in leading a soul to Christ and we hope that you’ll take advantage. Again, we’re going to be streaming or webcasting worship service here from Calvary, probably not by the Sunday we could maybe, but certainly in a week from now it will be up and we’ll be announcing that and you’ll just look on my website and it’ll probably say Calvary Community Church Morning worship service and you’ll click on that and be able to see the worship service live and then it’ll drop in the archive and you’ll be able to watch and hear them from wherever you might be listening.

Good morning Doctor. How are you doing today? Good. I’m a Bible about the Red Sea and I noticed in the foot weeks ago I saw a show on I think it was maybe the history channel not sure which one but on the show that that what actually the red sea or the well i’ve passed it on the water that it was the theory and was in a different area and things what and found that that that was a big expiration suit could you expand on that and uh…
sure will let your view that is funny but only david obviously uh… uh… i guess they believe the miracle is too great The Sea of Reeds, or the Reed Sea, is in the Nile Delta USL and is only about six inches deep. If that is the case, the American really was a great one because the whole Egyptian army drowned in six inches of water. And that is a joke. But if you read the biblical description, the children of Israel were very concerned because they were enclosed on the one side by the mountains.
On the other side by the Red Sea and behind them coming up behind them was the Egyptian army. So they were trapped. There are no mountains there in the Nile Delta, so that’s absolutely a crazy geographical description. It doesn’t meet the biblical standard at all. And so certainly if you’re going to find a place where they crossed, there has to be mountains to the right, the sea ahead of them, and a path from Egypt for the Egyptian army to come chasing right after them, and trapping them, entangling them in the land.
So we reject that totally. We believe it was quite deep and when the waters were parted and then came back together, the Egyptian army trying to cross at that time were completely drowned, every one of them including the Pharaoh. There is evidence now of those chariots and chariot wheels in a deeper part of the Red Sea. They found chariots that meet the description of the Egyptian chariots at that time. In fact, the spoke pattern and wheel dimensions are the same as those you’ll find in the Cairo Museum.
And one of them, the charity found, has gold on the spikes and on the wheels, and they believe it might be the actual chariot of the pharaoh himself that was found at the bottom of the Red Sea by Scuba Daima, expeditions that have gone rather recently. So this video available, I think there’s a website that has a lot of it, you can watch it right on your computer. Very fascinating that as the time goes along the Bible it becomes more and more verified as we have the technology and these explorers find these actual things.
Of course they’re not going to find them in the read-see that never happened there. Dave, that’s phony baloney. Don’t buy it. The Bible is true and we believe it has to be a place that the Bible description would match up with him and that doesn’t happen with the read see alright this is by one we’re coming toward the end of the program today we want to thank all of you’ve been listening and calling in today and again that number is we still have time for another caller one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one and if you’re listening right now on the fence called station a m uh…
i think five fifty switch over beginning next week to WNVY 1090 that is where we’ll be and that’s a much more powerful station and all to cover the entire Alabama and North West Florida panhandle Handily and we’re excited about the Getting that signal out Pray for us as we try these ventures because we really don’t Have the money to do all these things we trust God and somehow I don’t know how but of course I do know how it’s got himself, but he supplies we really Shouldn’t be on the air at all we don’t have any money We trust God and he supplies it through our listeners And it’s because of you guys that are listening that enjoy the program and want to see it expand and beyond the air in your area and your gifts are the ones that keep us going.
We have Ray in Lakeland, Florida and Ray, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hello Dr. Lynch from I have a question. Confirming Judas, how was he a disciple and he wasn’t saved and where in the Bible would say that he was or was not saved and I’ll hang up and listen. I read and John 644 we find that Jesus said that Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him and it goes the context takes you all the way down to her 70 where Judas is the one named as the betrayer.
This is part of God’s plan. You read in the Psalms that one of his friends would deny him and turn him in and even the price of the betrayal and how that the money would be thrown down in the temple and that a field would be bought with the money that was the blood money that Judas received from the priest. All of that is in the Old Testament. In Zechariah it talks about how the betrayal would take place. But Judas was never a believer.
Quite clear from John chapter 6 also John chapter 13 that he was not clean, he was not washed you is not a believer and he apparently never was. But it shows you that a person can be a disciple and not be a believer. So there are those who claim that they are disciples of Christ today and yet are not believers and will go to hell. So as long as you are trying to work your way to heaven by being a disciple of Christ, it doesn’t mean you are going to make heaven because we don’t enter heaven by being disciples.
We enter heaven because we trust Christ. That’s why a lot of preaching is wrong where they add conditions of discipleship to the gospel message. And one of those would be to follow Christ. I’ve heard preachers say, I want you to come forward and follow Christ tonight. I want you to come forward and surrender your life to Christ tonight. All that has to do with the Christian life. Nothing to do with salvation. You don’t have to go forward. You don’t have to surrender.
You don’t have to follow Christ to be saved. You have to trust Christ and is shed blended across. So when you do, then God saves you. So to be saved, you simply trust Christ. The Bible never violates that. It’s a gift and you receive it by trusting. But then the second choice is to live for Christ and follow Him and surrender your life and commit your life to Him. That has to do with discipleship and brings about rewards. We have, More colors here, Illinois or the state peep, but I can’t take you because the time is gone so I apologize and We have to get you to call back on Monday And we’ll take your call then again if you’ve not trusted Christ do it now Just Lord I am a sinner tell him and I trust Jesus as my only hope of heaven believing his death and shed blood paid my sin dead and full that he was buried that he rose again from the
the moment you trust Christ God saves you. Then I hope every listener that’s a believer would then make the choice to be a disciple as well. That brings about rewards.
