We would like to get into the Bible if you have your Bible there. You know Jesus Christ was crucified we believe on Wednesday of the Crucifixion Week. I call it Good Wednesday because Christ could not have been crucified on Friday. There’s no way you could get three days and three nights between Friday and Sunday. Jesus said in Matthew 1240 he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. That’s 72 hours, three days, three nights. A day period is twelve hours.

In John 11, Jesus said that they’re twelve hours in a day. And of course they’re twelve hours in the night. the day period and the night period constitute one day of twenty-four hours, he said he would be in the grave three days and three nights. And remember, Christ was placed in the grave at sundown, and that means seventy-two hours later he had to come out of the grave at sundown. And Christ didn’t rise Sunday morning. What happened on Sunday morning was the discovery of the empty tomb, but Christ really had risen 12 hours earlier and nobody saw the resurrection on Sunday morning.

He actually came back from the dead as the first day began Saturday at sundown. Even to this very hour, Jewish people conclude their Sabbath at Saturday 6 p.m. They begin their Sabbath Friday at 6 p.m. The Jewish day starts with the evening or the dark period first and then the period of light following. Christ was in the grave 72 hours and he rose at sundown Saturday. We’re going to be having a sundown service here at Calvary Community Church where I pastor.

We don’t believe Christ rose in the morning so we have a service at sundown and you’re welcome to come. If you’re in the area in driving distance, that’ll be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, the 7th of April, you’re welcome to come and be a part of that. And we believe that’s exciting. And then of course the next day we have our Resurrection Services, and you’re welcome to come to those special services, but Christ really rose, we believe, at Sundown on Saturday.

Now, to try to say that He was crucified on Friday, think about it. If you can count forward, you can certainly count it backward. And if you go back from the first day of the week, which is the resurrection day, you go back one day that Saturday, you go back two days that’s Friday, you go back three days that’s Thursday, Christ had to be crucified on Wednesday. Some people tried to explain this by saying he was in the grave part of Friday, part of Saturday, part of Sunday.

That’s not true. Christ was in the grave maybe part of Friday and all day Saturday. But when Saturday ended, Christ came out of the grave. He was not in the grave any part of Sunday, so you can’t really even say that. It doesn’t work because Christ was not in the grave on Sunday. He came out of the grave when the Sabbath ended as the first day began at 6 p.m. Saturday. He wasn’t in the grave on Sunday. If you leave Christ in the grave overnight till Sunday morning, then you really violate what Christ said because he said he would be in the grave three days and three nights.

If you leave him in the grave till Sunday morning, that would be three days and four nights. Think about it, one extra night period, remember he goes in the grave at sundown, and then if you go three days and three nights, 72 hours, that’s Saturday sundown, then you keep him in the grave overnight until Sunday morning. That’s three days and four nights. That’s certainly not true. So really, good Fridays of myth, but good Wednesday is the day that Jesus was crucified.

We certainly picked Christ was crucified, but we believe it was on Wednesday, not Friday. Every year at this time we have people that are called stigmatas that will bleed Supposedly vicariously and suffer the sufferings of Christ vicariously and they’ll bleed in their hands and in their feet and From where the crown of thorns was and so on and what is so interesting about this they bleed on the wrong day They bleed on the wrong day if this were from God they would bleed on Wednesday not Friday tells you it’s not from God.

They don’t get it right, do they? They just fall into the error of bad teaching that Christ was crucified on Friday. He was actually crucified on Wednesday. So if they really did bleed as a result of God allowing them to vicariously suffer the suffering of Christ, whatever that would mean, it would happen on Wednesday and it doesn’t. Isn’t that amazing? And so I just pointed out because you’ll see that in the newspaper every year. You read about the people that supposedly vicariously bleed and paintings cry and bleed and blood and so on.

This is all not true and not I’ve got it all. And so you need to reject that. In any case, this won’t affect your salvation. But you know, not only do people not get these things right, which are the background part of the story, but usually people don’t get the gospel right. I was raised in church. I was confirmed, I was baptized, I was homogenized, pasteurized, capsized, Simonized. I had the whole full treatment. And then I was never saved.

And it wasn’t until I was eighteen that I finally heard the wonderful good news that Christ died. And by His death in shed blood, paid my sin debt in full, was buried, rose again from the dead. But only trust in what Christ finished for me at the cross, he would save me. For God so loved the world that he would mean that he gave his only begotten son as Jesus Christ that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Have is a present tense verb, it means right at the moment you believe you possess eternal life and from that moment on forever you will possess it. I received eternal life when I was 18, when I trusted Christ, and I still have it, and will possess it forever. If it’s eternal life, you would have it today, you’d have it tomorrow. You’d have it next week. You’d have it a hundred years from now. You’d have it a million years from now.

You see, if it’s eternal, you’re never going to lose it. It’s forever. I don’t understand why people want to say you can lose your salvation. That would mean he gave his temporary life or he gave his probation, not salvation. And certainly that’s not what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that you don’t wait till after you die to find out whether you’re going to make heaven or not. You find out at the moment you believe that you can actually actually know from that moment on that you have received everlasting life.

And because it’s everlasting, it’s everlasting and you can’t lose it. You’ll never, never, ever go to hell once you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. In that good news, it really is. And I hope that you have trusted Christ as your Savior. And of course, we’re into the most exciting time of the year that the barrel and resurrection Christ is coming up and we believe Christ was crucified on Wednesday. There is no Ash Wednesday in your Bible. There is no Lent in your Bible.

There might be Lent. Shake your Bible. Lent might fall out, but no Lent. There is no such thing as Lent in your Bible. It’s a pagan doctrine. It has nothing to do with Christianity. And then there is no good Friday. It was good Wednesday that Christ was crucified on. Certainly we want to change the E word to the R word. Let’s not use the word Easter, the name of the mother of Baal, but let’s say that we’re celebrating Christ’s resurrection as Christians and we call it Resurrection Sunday.

It’s exciting. I’m looking forward to all of this and we’re going to be soon here. April 1st this year is Palm Sunday when Christ came down the slopes of the Van Lollives. The people hailed him as the son of David and the siam and when he went into the temple the religious leaders rejected him and they began from that day forward to pot his death and we believe that he was crucified on Wednesday of that week resurrected 72 hours later at sundown on Saturday and then Sunday morning the ladies came and they discovered the empty tomb.

I’m Dr. This is Bible. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We’d love to hear from you. Dial us at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we’d love to hear from you. We have Richard in Clearwater, Florida calling in. And Richard, welcome to Bibleline here. Good morning, Dr. Langstrom. I just left a sales meeting and our manager basically was bringing up this book, The Secret, Mid-Oprah, Winfrey, and others have been purporting. And it sounds to me like it’s the old name and claim it doctrine.

And I don’t know, I don’t believe in any of that kind of voice my opinion. I just wanted your thinking on that if that’s You know You know, I’m not familiar with that book. I’ll have to check it out for myself. But any book that has the word secret in it generally, that tells you it’s going in the wrong direction. The Bible doesn’t keep any secrets. The Bible lays it right out. In fact, it tells us that what God did was not done in secret but was done openly.

And Peter, when he preached on Pentecost, said this is something that was openly done. Everybody knew about it. And so it was not to be a surprise to anyone. There is a passage in Isaiah that I like where it tells us that there is only one Savior, there is only one God, and that the gospel is right there that you just simply come to the Lord and He would save you the same as in the tomb testament when you come to Christ God would save you.

So I’m going to turn there in my Bible. And it says here in this wonderful chapter, I’m looking for the verse here. It says, haven’t you known? Have you not heard that the everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint, neither is he weary, and neither is there any searching of his understanding. And basically it tells us here that this This is something that they should have heard because he didn’t do it in secret.

He declared it openly. There are some verses that are very clear about that. It says here in verse 8 of chapter 44, fear ye not, need to be afraid. done I told you these things from that time and declared it. He says, I’ve not spoken in secret in a dark place in the earth. Here the Lord says that He’s made it plain through His prophets and through the Word of God for all these many years. Hopefully that helps a little bit.

I’ll have to do my homework and check out that book that Oprah is recommending. Thank you, Richard. That was Richard in Clearwater, Florida. We have Bill in Pensacola, California, and Bill, welcome to Bible Ed. Good morning. Dr. Lindstrom, I have a question with regard to cremation versus standard burial of $1000. And cremation approaches approximately $1500. My preference would be to leave the difference in that money to the church for disbursement to people that have just a terrible critical need or some need that they could use the money.

Is it wrong for me to insist on cremation first? I don’t believe so. It has nothing to do with your salvation in the Bible. The Jewish people would bury, but it was only because they were making a statement about they believed in the resurrection of the body and that is true. I don’t think people are making a statement today. I think what they’re doing is as you’re suggesting, the price has just gotten so extravagant to have a funeral that puts a real burden on those that survive the deceased many times and puts them in debt.

And I don’t see a problem. I do a lot of funerals and many of them are cremations today. And this one I have your package of materials and I just so appreciate your program in the morning. And thank you so much for responding to my question, sir. All right. You have a great day, Bill. Thank you. We had a question yesterday about who is the mother of David and we had Doug in Pensacola and I don’t know if I gave his answer quite right the other day, but he says in looking it up for me, in 2 Samuel 1725 it says that Nehash is the mother of Abigail.

And in 1 Chronicles 2 16 it says Abigail is the sister of David. So there we have the answer. Nehash is the mother of David. So that’s 2 Samuel 1725 and 1 Chronicles 2 16. Thank you Doug in Pensacola for digging around and finding all that out for us and we appreciate that. In fact, we learn often from our audience and we appreciate your digging that information up for us out of the Bible. Again, I’m Dr. Engvenson. This is my boy.

We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. We look forward to being with you every day, Monday through Friday. Next week we’re going to be in Israel. We’re going to try to do as many shows as we can from Israel. Make sure that you’re listening. I hope that we’ll have a lot of exciting things to say and share with you about this special place where Christ was born in Bethlehem. Then grew up and became a man and became our Savior and went to the cross of Calvary and died in Jerusalem to pay for our sins.

And then of course he walked over to the Mount of Olives. He showed himself a lot of 40 days and on the top of the Mount of Olives when he spoke his final words and gave us the great commission, you shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you. And you shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem, in Judea, Samaria, and unto the the most parts of the earth. When he had spoken these things the Bible says, while they be held, he was taken up from them into heaven.

Then the angel said, this same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so in like manner return from heaven. Christ we believe will come back bodily, physically, visibly, and everybody will see him at the second coming. Of course, I’m leaving at the rapture seven years earlier to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. But in any case, the wonderful story of the gospel is the heart. The Bible is all about the story of God’s love for mankind and how God provided a redeemer, a savior for fallen mankind that as a result of Adam’s sin came under God’s condemnation.

We’re now going to go to Kyle in Sarasota, Florida and Kyle, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey, Doc. I got a question, it’s probably not about Jesus talking about it. As Moses hung up, the golden sabbat asked, what will I be? hung up and I have a property left for the kitchen. I know it’s a false aisle. It’s a snake. Moses, I kind of understand that he put it up. Well, okay. We have a bad connection here, but I think I hit the point.

The Lord instructed Moses to put a serpent on the pole and lift it up. it had been bitten if they only looked to this serpent on the pole, they would be healed. And it was a picture of the crucifixion of Christ that as we’ve all been bitten in a sense by the serpent, we’ve all come under the curse of the fall of Adam and Eve where Satan begiled Eve in the garden of Eden. And we’ve all acquired the sin nature of Adam and we all sin because we’re born with that nature.

But if we look to Christ, who on the cross of Calvary became a curse for us. In relation to 3.13 it says Christ was made a curse for us so that we might be redeemed from the curse of the law. We are under a curse because of the serpent. Christ who took upon us took upon Himself our sins at the cross and became a curse on our behalf set us free from the curse of the law which would condemn us to help.

And by the way, so that people would not worship that and use it as an idol, God had it destroyed later, He told them to destroy it. So the serpent on the pole is no longer around. So it was an illustration, but was not to ever become an idol, and so God had it destroyed, so it’s gone. But by the way, that is the symbol of every doctor, and you see an ambulance, you see that serpent on the pole, and it’s a symbol of healing, but it’s amazing.

It’s a symbol of Christ. As Jesus in John chapter 3 says, as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, social of Son of Man be lifted up on the cross of Calvary, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. So it’s a beautiful symbol, but it’s obviously not an idol as God had it destroyed so that it could not be used as such. We have John in Yeastis, Florida, and John, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Good morning Pastor Hank. I’ve often heard you say that when the rapture takes place that the planes will be crashing and cars will be crashing. But I look at 1st Corinthians 1440 and it says to let all things be done decently in an order. Now I know we think with the human mind because that’s what we are. But God’s ways are much different than our ways and his thoughts are much higher than our thoughts. And I don’t know how to rap.

She’s going to happen. I was going to take place. But I’m sure God’s going to do it decently and in order. What’s your response? Sorry. I agree with you on that. You know, we’re just speculating here. But I know my sister was so much fun when we were younger, had a sticker that she had on the glove compartment in her car. And it said, right at your own risk, I’m leaving it the Rapture. And of course, the scenario is that I’m not the first one to think of it, is if I’m driving the car or my sister was driving the car and the Rapture were to happen, she would disappear and the car would be with no driver behind the wheel.

And if you’re a passenger, you’re likely to be in a car wreck. And the same thing would be true if a pilot were flying a plane and raptured out and the passengers would be without a pilot. And I know one Christian pilot said he was hoping that it would not happen when he was flying the airplane because he knew the consequences. And so, but it’s obviously something that we speculate about. But in any case, how many people would be killed or the tragedies that would incur being cured by that, I don’t know.

But definitely, we’re going to leave. if you’re at the… The car will be driverless. If you’re at the controls of an airplane, the plane will be pilotless. If you’re a trained engineer and the trained engineers are raptured out, the train will not have anybody at the controls and can imagine that train would crash. So I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see and I would hope that there would not be loss of life, but there’s definitely that indication that it would be a lot of time.

probably would happen yes i want to ask you that question because you know i feel in my heart through the very word of god itself that uh… the rapture is really so very near either i agree with that very much i think we’re very close yes and all we can do is uh… painful lost and be ready to go up in the air amen well done thank you for calling and thank you for your show up be sure to have very much and may God continue to bless you.

Thank you so much. God bless you. In Yeastus, Florida, that was John, and we’re coming up on break and we’ll have to hold the rest of our callers off until after that break and then we’ll come back and do the second half hour of Bible. So keep your radio tuned right where it is and we’ll be right back after this short break and do the second half of Bibleline of Dr. Englund’s Shrimps’ Bibleline and we’ll be right back. Stay tuned.

Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. Under the Conde deceased women and she’s a nice guy, who was she spent Well, thank you for tuning in today. I’m Dr. Englund’s Shrimps’ Bibleline and we really in Coordinate at K Accelerate and it was 18 years prior when the do enjoy bringing the program to you and I hope you enjoy the program as much as we and enjoy bringing it to you. And of course, in order to do that, we certainly index was estimated to cover in second in action.

certainly do that. We certainly do that. We certainly do that. We certainly do that. We certainly do that. We certainly do that. We don’t have pledges, we don’t have subscribers, we don’t have anybody underwriting this program. What we have is God and He has raised up listeners like you who enjoy the program, who send in their giftsjriwal to keep Seym on the air. Have you given a to Bible and this month of March. If you haven’t, we could really use your help at this time.

And your gift really makes it possible to be on the air. The ones that really benefit are going to get a lot of rewards in heaven. The gospels are going to be saved. People are going to being challenged, people are going into Christian work, people are telling me that they learn more Bible than 30 days of Bible and they do in 30 years of church and we’re getting all kinds of wonderful stories that we’re hearing from our listeners about how this program is impacting their lives and their lives and their families.

I hope you’ll stand behind Bible and pray for us and give regularly to Bible and help us to continue to grow outward and reach people with this wonderful message of the gospel. I know what it was like to be raised in church and never have answers to my questions and to be totally confused until finally at 18 when I heard the wonderful messageSales I trusted Jesus as my Savior. My friend, you can help us continue that by giving your gift to Bibleline and you can call or 800 number.

Our operators will be glad to send you an address so you can mail that in or you can call and give a gift by credit card over the phone and we’re excited about what Bible I’m is doing. And we appreciate every one of our listeners and no gift is too small but if you could give a more generous gift that would be truly appreciated. And We want to thank you in advance. God bless you and thank you for your prayers and your gifts to Bible on that make this program possible.

I hope you get a chance to meet on this side of the Rapture if you get a chance to ever visit us or come by. We’d love to have you do that. We’re about ready to join the stations now that have been on break and do the second half hour hour. You can catch it on the internet. The full hour is there but also on the radio. keep your down to the right where it is, we’ll be right back.

Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back for night break and this is Bible and I’m Dr. Englund’s drummer. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida From our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. We’re excited about the different places where we’re on the air every day and we just got a call yesterday from the manager in Nashville, Tennessee a 50,000 watt station and He said that not only is he playing me from 1-2 in the morning at night as a bonus time for us, but he’s also had some open spots in the evening that he’s not sold.

While they’re available, he’s running us then as well. So we’re on basically three times a day in Nashville and we’re also on, I believe, three times a day in Chattanooga. In many of the stations play us at extra times, which is really wonderful and we thank God for that. Pray with us that God would continue to open doors of opportunity for Bible land to go forth. We’re broadcasting in Honduras on the island of Rotan, which has 80,000 people living on that island.

The owner of that station flew up here to Tampa and he took me to lunch. We really had a wonderful time of fellowship together and he grabbed a whole sack full of my programs and is running them for free in Honduras. I met last year the fellow that is the manager of the only Christian station in Mongolia. And he is taking our programs and running them in Mongolia. you imagine hearing my voice in Mongolia and as they translate them into Mongolia and also played them in English.

And of course on the internet we’re reaching all over the world. 147 countries have logged in this year and we hope that you’ll pass that word along to your friends in foreign countries and especially missionaries. We just had a fellow that had gotten back from a mission trip to Japan and he said he was telling all those missionaries about the Bible and website where they could really find good teaching and encouragement from back here in the States. A lot of missionaries don’t really get much in the way of Bible preaching and teaching, and here’s the way they can do it on the Internet.

So why not pass that word along to your missionary, your friends, your family, those in the military around the world who are out there are looking for the truth in the Word of God and maybe they can find Bible and really have a new friend here. Thank you again for listening and for praying and for giving the Bible and if you haven’t given the Bible and for the month of March would you please consider sending a gift. You can do it by telephone by giving your credit card and telling us how much you’d like to give.

Also, you can ask our players to send you an envelope and you can mail a gift to Bible on, but we do thank you who give because you’re the ones who are benefiting so many because this program is reaching out all over the world and you’re able to be a part of that. We have between 10 and 15,000 people that listen to Bibleline radio on the Internet. That’s right. Listen to it on the radio per se. They listen to it on the Bible and Ministries website and we hope that you’ll pass that word along and take advantage of it as well Our television programs are also there.

We also stream our morning worship service and our classes that I like to teach are also now available On the internet, which is great. You can not call and and sign up and get the password and be able to take those classes on the internet and that’s exciting. In any case, we’re going to now go back and catch our phone calls. We’ve got lots of people waiting. We have here, we have Ken in Clearwater, Florida, and Ken, welcome to the Bible on your on the air.

Yeah, good morning. I was just thinking today it really has to be an act of God that your ministry expanded from 15 minutes a day like in theBUS area to especially when you mentioned that you’re going into Mongolia. We just want to talk about the people on a chain reaction. I know people are being appreciative. We know that you are working like a persevere, but there is a wonderful trip to God. I was talking to your people about your wonderful children to the Lord, so they are so beautiful that we know that there is a real connection between us and our listeners, especially as believers were related by the blood of Christ and we’re in the same team trying to come with the same goals and it’s exciting to be a part of all of that and see what God is doing through those that want to make a difference.

One thing I was wondering if you could help me with it, I sort of struggle with every time I read it, it almost seems like something’s left out. In the last chapter of the Gospel The Gospel of John in verse 20 there. It’s Peter talking and he’s asking which is that the betray of the. And it doesn’t seem like that. that question gets answered and they’re referring back to Judah somehow there or I just don’t understand like plenty of them going into twenty-one.

It looks like Christ answers a different question and after talking about listen I’m missing something here. Well let me read the verse here it says then Peter turning about see if the disciple whom Jesus loved following that was John right which also learned or leaning on his breast and supper and say if Lord who which or you see the betraying of me it’s referring back to John being there at the Lord’s Supper and asking that question as Christ said that one of them would betray him and John asked the question as to who was the one that was called that would be ever betray Christ.

Oh okay so it’s just buying John exactly. Okay yeah that makes a lot of sense I thought it was no no. Okay well you have a wonderful trip. You too have a great week and God bless you and that was Ken in Clearwater. We have Steve now in Redington Shores Florida and see what we’ll be right along. Thank you Dr. Lindstrom. Thank you for taking my call. First of all I want to thank you for a lot of your listening to your program a short time but you make it so easy to understand scripture.

And my question today is on predestination. If you could explain that please and I’ll hang out and listen to your response. God has predestined that all that are believers will go to heaven and they’ll have a new body like Christ’s body and will live in the New Jerusalem and experience eternity together with Christ, but he has not made your choice for you. So what God did before the foundation of the earth was that he predetermined that all that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ would be saved and all that would reject Christ would be forever lost.

You really see it in John 3 16 for God’s Law of the world that he gave his only begotten Son and here is what he predetermined that whosoever believe it in him should not perish but have everlasting life. But the negative is implied that if If you don’t believe on Christ, then it’s predetermined that you will perish and you’ll not have everlasting life. D.L. Moody made it as simple as you’ll ever hear it expressed. He said, the whosoever wills are the elect and the whosoever wants are the non-elect.

I love his way of bringing things down and making it simple. So basically that’s it. It says in the Thessalonians, and here’s the first and first Thessalonians too, that people usually read only part of the verse and therefore they draw a wrong conclusion before they should have. And I’ll read that wonderful verse to you. That’s in the first Thessalonians 2 in 2nd Thessalonians, excuse me, in chapter 2 in verse 13. It says here, but we are bound to give thanks always to God for you.

Brethren, beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation. Most people stop right there and say, see, God has already chosen you before the foundations of the world to be saved. But if you read the very last part, it says he’s chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit. Spirit that is God’s part and belief of the truth that is your part. So when you believe the truth it is your choice then you enter into this group that has been predestined to go to heaven and live with the Lord forever and get new bodies like Christ.

But it is not with this regard to your choice. You have not made your choice, but he has chosen to save the believers and he will not save unbelievers. I hope he helps a little, but that’s a very short answer. But predestination shouldn’t frighten you. If you’re a believer, then you have been chosen along with all the rest of the believers to go to heaven. But if you die as an unbeliever, then you’re the non-elect and you will not make heaven.

We have Cleveland in Tampa. That’s interesting, isn’t it? Cleveland, welcome to Bible in it. Yes. You’re on the air. Dr. Hank Smith? Yeah. to it from a new friend. But I have a question, and only because you touched on something about Eternals, and… And I love the word of God and my question. The question is I just have not fully convinced, okay, and not in a negative sense, in a positive sense. I’m not… I’m not fully convinced of, I guess the phrase, once saved, always saved.

And I just wanted to share that and I probably could have studied this and one key is I’ve never took the time to study it because I just haven’t been late to study it. But I thought, you know, I’m actually questioning anyway. Maybe you could just kind of help cut me through the chase here. Alright. All right. If you’re not saved forever, you’re not saved. by very definition. If you’re not saved forever, you’re not saved. To be saved means to be delivered.

And what the Bible teaches about salvation is that you’re delivered from hell. And as far as God is concerned, He sees you already in heaven at the moment you trust Christ as your Savior. It’s amazing to me how people will use phrases and yet they don’t understand what they really mean. A lot people if you ask them are you saved they’ll say yes I’m saved are you going to go to heaven well I hope so and obviously they haven’t understood what being saved really is let’s say that you were on a cruise liner and you’re out there in the Atlantic or the Gulf of Mexico and somehow you accidentally fall off and nobody sees you fall off and you’re really in deep trouble in many Let’s say first of all you’re maybe a hundred miles from shore.

Number two, you can’t swim. So you’ve really got a problem. So you’re thrashing the water. And let’s say that somebody comes along in their boat and they see that splashing water and they drive over and they say, boy, you are in good fortune today. I happen to have a book here in my boat, three easy lessons on how to swim and I’m going to give you my copy. And he says, let me just point the direction of shore and he points over in the direction of land.

And he says, I’ll see you back in on the land. And he drives away in his boat. Would he be a savior? And the answeranguage is no. He might be an educator. And it’s amazing how many people have accepted Christ as an educator or a teacher, but not as a savior. Let’s say that somehow you’re still out there, thrashing around in the water, managing to keep your head above the water and another guy drives up at his boat and he shuts the engine off and he says, let me just give you a little help here.

And he jumps in the water and he demonstrates the backstroke, the freestyle, the butterfly and the proper way of breathing and so on. And he says, just follow my example. And if you would just do what I’m doing right now, you’ll be able to make it back to shore. points again to the direction of land. Gets back in his boat. Motors often leaves you. Would he be a savior? No. But a lot of people have accepted Christ as an example.

He says, you know, you live like Christ, you’ll make it someday. Well that’s not a savior. But somehow you’re still alive out there, thrashing around in the water and another guy comes up in his boat and says, oh my goodness, you’re in trouble. Let me help you. And he assists you up into his boat. He gives you a towel. You dry off and gives you some iced tea or something to drink and you’re headed back toward shore. He gets about one mile from shore.

You can see the land clear now. And he says, he shuts off the motor of his boat. And he says, I’ve done my part. I’ve driven you 99 miles toward shore. The last mile is just only 1% of the whole way. It’s time for you to do your part. And so he kicks you out of the boat. And he says, you can see land. I’ll see you back on shore. He motors off. Would he be a savior? You would drown even just 15 yards off a shore because you can’t swim.

And here he drops you off a mile from shore. You know, a savior is somebody who would come to you out there thrashing around in the water, putting you in the boat, taking you all the way to shore, planting your feet firmly on the shore. That would be a savior. And you know, a lot of people have used those terms, but you I haven’t trusted Christ as Savior unless you have trusted Him to plant your feet safely on heaven’s shore.

And that’s what a Savior is. And unless He takes you all the way to heaven and places your feet on heaven’s shore, you have not had a Savior. In other words, just like I said a moment ago, if you’re not saved forever, you’re not saved. If God doesn’t take you all the way to heaven, then He hasn’t saved you. And you haven’t had a Savior. And that’s just by definition. The Savior is someone who takes you all the way from your devastating dilemma that you’re in and takes you all the way home to heaven.

And that’s what the Bible says about Christ. In Ephesians 2, 6, it says, if you’re a believer, that he has taken you and you have ascended to heaven with Christ and you’re now seated with Christ in heavenly places. So as far as God is concerned, you’re already in heaven. And if you were to be lost, you’d have to be kicked out of heaven. Not going to happen. You’re saved and saved forever once you trust Christ as you’re saved. Dr.

Lindstrom, I mean, and I really, in a lot of the Scriptures that you mentioned, I know a lot of the words. I’m not bleed the word of God. I’m a believer. I’m a strong believer to the word of God. And I guess a couple of questions that I would have or that would bring me to the question that I initially asked. One of the Scriptures I’m reminded of, and I really wish I would have just went ahead and started this out, but I’m going to share it.

The one he mentioned about, I can only try to put this together, but he talks about once the experience, the fullness of God. The fullness of God and his glory and have made a decision to turn away the scripture, read something like it’s impossible to repent. Could you explain that scripture? I think you’ve mixed the couple together. But in Hebrews, chapter 6, verse 4, it says it’s impossible for those who are once enlightened in the case of the heavenly gift and of the Word of God and so on.

It says if they fall away, it’s impossible to renew them again under repentance. What it’s saying there is that it’s impossible to become saved twice. You’re only saved once. If you fall away and it’s not talking about falling from your salvation, it’s talking about things that accompany salvation according to Hebrew 6 and 9. He’s talking about living a Christian life. If you get away from serving the Lord, what you need to do is go back and start serving Lord again.

It’s impossible for you to go back and try to become saved again. And if you do, according to verse 6 of Hebrews 4, you would be crucifying Christ all over again to yourself because he’ll never die again. And it says you would put him to an open shame. In other words, you would be saying by trying to become saved again that the one time death of Christ that you originally trusted in was not sufficient to save you eternally. So this is really an eternal security verse.

It’s really saying that once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. You never can go back and make that decision and change your mind, repentance is a change of mind, to get saved again because you’re saved already forever. In Hebrews 10 it says, by one offering, he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. So once you’ve trusted Christ, you’re eternally perfected. As far as God is concerned, you’re perfect forever in his sight because you’ve been given the very righteousness of God which is imputed to your account.

And so that’s the verse I think you’re talking about, that it’s impossible. You know I had one lady tell me. He had lost her salvation. She had brought up this passage in Hebrews chapter 6, verse 4 through 6. I put on my sad face and I said, Oh, I am so sorry for you. Oh, my heart goes out to you. I have no words to express my sympathy. And she said, what do you mean? I said, if you say you’ve lost your salvation, she said yes you did.

And you’re pointing to this verse here. This verse says it’s impossible for you to ever come back and become saved again. So you’re headed for hell if that’s what this verse means. And there’s nothing I can do about it. There’s nothing you can do about it. There’s nothing your church can do about it. Oh man, my heart goes out. You’re going to hell and you can’t ever get it back and it brings me to tears. And then of course she changed her story.

She said, full, she almost lost it. She didn’t really lose it. Because this verse says, if you ever did lose it, you could never get it back. That’s not what the verse is talking about at all. It’s talking about if you get away from serving the Lord, you don’t go back and become saved again because you’re already safe forever. But what you need to do is go back and get serving again. And later if you read the chapter there, it says God is not unrighteous to forget your labor of love.

He’s going to reward you and he will reward you according to what you’ve done. And if you are away from serving Lord, you need to go back and start serving again. The question of getting saved again, you don’t ever get saved again because you’re saved eternally once you trust Christ as your Savior. And that’s very good. I really appreciate that. And I understand that we can repent and as far as or rededicate or come back to God. And I guess my question lies in between that then lying.

What if we don’t make that choice to repent and continue to whatever we back solid and like I said we back solid into, I don’t know if we go on a surgery killer, I guess my point is what if we don’t make that decision to come back and repent or rededicate. It doesn’t… It doesn’t matter. What we just said there is that he saves you forever. There is nothing that could cause you to ever be lost. John 637 Christ said, him that come up to me, I will in no wise, that means in no case or in no circumstance would ever cast you out.

So even if you did commit a grievous crime, you would still be saved. David committed murder. He was still saved. David committed adultery. He was still saved. Now the Lord chastened him. If you read the 51st Psalm, David said the Lord had chastened him sore, but he was still saved. And he asks in that wonderful prayer in Psalm 51. He said, Lord restore him to me the joy of my salvation. But he was still saved, but he had lost his joy.

And he was kind of miserable and got put him through the ringer because of his sin. But you can’t be lost once you get saved you’re stuck. And I understand that and I really appreciate it. I got to even when I look at David, you I love David, he’s a man that knew how to get back into the presence of God. I guess my question was just left with if a person did not make that decision, and I understand what you’re saying, but if he did not make that decision and say, I’m not just going to turn away temporarily.

I’m going to turn away this life. I’ve decided to live. I chose to live. and I’m going to continue to do what I do until I die doing it. So I get another word. where that person still will end up in heaven. You sure will. And lots of great example of that. Lot made a lifelong decision to live in Sodom. And then when Sodom was destroyed, his life was at the zero point. But he was still saved. In second Peter, Peter says he was a righteous man, even though he had his soul vexed with the evil of Sodom.

He was still a saved man. And you know what happened after he was delivered from Sodom. He gets his daughters getting drunk and they have sex with him. They have children by their own dad. And his life was just absolutely miserable. He was living in a cave. And the descendants of Lot were basically following after that same example of their dad or granddad. And it was a mess. But Lot, according to the Bible, was saved. lot of course we’ll see him in heaven one day but not too many people are naming their kids lot when they’re born yeah and I noticed when oh yeah I guess that was from his it’s physical death that’s exactly right okay now wouldn’t have been his me turn on that that’s exactly right thank you so much for calling in and I hope that’s helped we got a run because we’re at the end

Give a gift for the month of March. I’m Dr. Englund Strimman, and we thank you right now in advance for your prayers and for your gifts. We really couldn’t be on the air without you. and it’s a necessary connection. It’s an opportunity really for a believer to invest in eternity. And as Paul told the Philippian believers, not that I desire a gift, he says, I’m not really trying to get your money, but I desire that fruit may abound to your account.

So when you invest in a ministry that is bearing fruit for Christ, then you’re going to have that fruit abound to your account as you give to financially support it. Isn’t it a wonderful concept? Philippians 4.17, look it up for yourself. It forever changed my mind about giving. I had always heard the other type of giving where you beat over the head with it. It almost threatened that you have to give and hear the Bible says, Paul says, I’m not trying to get your money.

This is a voluntary choice on your part. But if you give, he says, I desire that fruit may have found your account and whatever fruit was born or achieved by Paul’s ministry would have accounted to the account of the one who gave to Paul’s ministry. Isn’t that incredible? If you give the Bible and you’re going to get in on whatever treasures, whatever rewards this program will earn in eternity. You can do that by phone. You can give it by credit card and the phone.

You can also give a gift by mail. You can call in and we’ll send you an envelope with our address on it. Consider that please. We’ll be back tomorrow. Join us again. God bless and have a wonderful, wonderful day. Keep looking up because Jesus is coming and we believe coming very soon. You’ve been listening to Bibleline.
