I hope you had a wonderful July 4th and a safe one and I did and I hope that you did as well and we are glad to be able to be with him. We are going to turn to Luke’s Gospel, the chapter 1. Here we have an incredible passage that deals with the birth of Jesus and of course tells us a little bit about Mary, the mother of the flesh that God took upon himself. It says in Luke chapter 1 verse 46, Mary said, My soul must magnify the Lord.
Verse 47 and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. This is a great verse because it tells us that Mary also needed a Savior. That means that Mary was a sinner just like every one of us in the human race, and that Mary had to trust in Jesus Christ for her salvation just like we do. She was not an exception to the rule. There is a doctrine though called the Immaculate Conception of Mary. That is really something greatly misunderstood by most because they think it is about the birth of Christ.
It is not. It is about the birth of Mary. The doctrine which is false of the Immaculate Conception of Mary says that Mary was conceived without sin and that she was sinless and therefore she did not need a Savior. They of course came up with this idea to be able to explain the virgin, rather than not the virgin birth, but the sinlessness of Christ, which we believe is explained by the virgin birth. The fact that the sin of Adam was not passed on through a human father to Jesus is the reason why he was born sinless.
But we find that the Catholic Church in particular has come up with the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. Please notice the Bible contradicts that. It says right here, and these are the words of Mary herself, in Luke 1 verse 46, it says that Mary said, My soul, that magnifies the Lord, and My Spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. She couldn’t say that if she didn’t need a Savior, but she didn’t need a Savior, and she trusted in Jesus as the one who died to pay for her sins, as well as the sins of the whole human race.
The Catholic Church also teaches that Mary was perpetually a virgin, and of course that is not true either. Mary had quite a number of children, and we have them listed in the Bible in Mark chapter 6 in particular. If you have your Bible open, you might want to turn there and take a look for yourself. It says in Mark 6, the crowd was talking about Jesus here and they said in verse 3 of Mark 6, is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and the notice here.
It talks about the step brothers or half brothers of Christ. The brother isn’t Jesus the brother of James, isn’t he the brother of Joseph’s, isn’t he the brother of Judah and isn’t he the brother of Simon and are not his sisters here with us. So that’s at least six children. We don’t know how many girls Mary had born to her, but there were at least two to make sisters pull, but there were four boys for sure named by name.
So Jesus after he had been born, Mary and Joseph had natural children and had a minimum of 6. If they had three girls there would have been seven. If they had four girls there would have been eight children. If there were five girls there would have been nine children. We don’t know how many children they had total. The Bible doesn’t tell us. But Mary and Joseph had at least six children minimum. The verse is in Mark 6, 3 and 4.
And the crowd here were talking about Jesus and they said is not this the carpenter? As he was raised in Joseph’s carpenter shop in Nazareth, he says here the son of Mary, and then it lists here the fact that he was the brother to a boy named James, the brother to a boy named Joseph, and a brother to a boy named Judah, and brother to a boy named Simon, and are not his sisters here with us. And we find that Jesus was obviously one of many children in that family, but only Jesus was virgin born.
Only Jesus was sinless, and he obviously is the Savior. The Bible tells us that he would not sin, and he never sinned any act of sin. He was absolutely without sin. The Bible declares it throughout. Therefore, he was qualified to be our Savior as the Bible talks about the sinless Lamb of God that would come and die to pay for your sin and mine. Christ was without sin, and it says about the Lamb in the Old Testament that had to be a perfect Lamb and had to be without blemish, without spot.
And that was, of course, the picture of what Christ would be, that he would be without without sin and he was completely sinless. Numerous verses declare that. It tells us in 2 Corinthians 5, 21 that God made Christ to be sinned for us, Christ who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God. So in other words, the plan of salvation required for a sinless Savior because if Christ had been a sinner, then he would have had to pay for his own sin and could not have been a substitute sacrifice to pay for your sin and mine.
But he wasn’t sinless because Mary was sinless, which is what the Immaculate Conception is all about. It’s amazing because the doctrine that’s taught about Mary within a number of churches doesn’t match up with the Bible. So the Mary that they’re talking about is certainly not the Mary of the Bible. The Mary the Bible was a wonderful girl who believed God’s word when she was told that she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit. And obviously she was a godly woman, but certainly not able to do the things that so many people attributed to her, including answering prayers.
Did you know that Mary cannot hear your prayers? Did you know that Mary cannot answer your prayers? And that’s because the Bible tells us that she was a sinner, just like you and me, and the Bible forbids praying to people that have died. The Bible forbids praying to the saints. Yet how many people pray to different saints when the Bible forbids it? How many people pray to Mary when she is just in the same category is all of those who You have died in the past.
We’re not allowed to pray to any of them. Let me give you this wonderful verse in the Bible in 1 Timothy chapter 2 and verse 5. It says, there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. So there’s one God, it says, and one mediator between God and men. It’s not Mary. It’s not Mary and Joseph. It’s not the saints. It’s not any other person. It’s not a priest, it’s not a minister, it’s not a rabbi.
Let me read the verse again. You might want to write this down someplace. First Timothy 2.5 says there’s one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. So Christ is the only mediator. If you want to get a prayer to heaven, you have to go through Jesus Christ to get to the Father. That’s right. Jesus said in John 14.6, I am the way. Mary, I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life, and no man can come under the Father but by me, not by Mary, not by a priest, not by Rabbi, not by a minister.
There is only one way to approach God the Father, and that is through the mediator, which is, there is only one, and that is Jesus Christ himself. There is only one God, one mediator, 1 Timothy between God and the man Christ Jesus is the only mediator. So to pray to Mary is a dead in street. Your prayers will not get through nor can she answer them. And that is really unfortunate that a lot of people are misled and misdirected.
Don’t you think Satan is jumping up and down with joy and glee because people are praying to a dead in street. Their prayers aren’t heard. Their prayers aren’t answered. Mary can’t hear them and Mary can’t answer them and Mary in fact the Bible says it’s forbidden to pray to the saints or to pray to the dead. So a person who prays to Mary is violating scripture. It’s really unfortunate, but there are people who pray to the dead and that’s really unfortunate.
You know the most recent pope here After he died there was a convent in France you probably read about it where there was a young nun there that had Parkinson’s disease and she and all the nuns in the convent prayed to Pope John Paul and And supposedly she was healed and of course it’s this miracle that they’re claiming that will now propel him to early Sainthood which of course again is an unscriptural doctrine because God says that we become saints at the moment We trust Christ and to To pray to John Paul is really in violation of scripture.
We’re not to pray to the dead Interesting isn’t it? And the present pope claims that he prays to John Paul to get advice on how to be a good pope. Amazing. You’re not allowed to pray to the dead. The Bible forbids that. There’s only one mediator, and that is Jesus. First Timothy 2-5, look it up for yourself. We’re going to go to the phone lines. I’m Dr. Hinglands from This is Bibleline. You’re welcome to call in the numbers 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go down to Pembroke Pines Florida. That’s down in South Florida between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. And Joe, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Hi, Pastor Hank. How you doing? Good. I wanted to ask you a couple of quick questions. First, well, have you ever heard of the show, Faith in Action?
i don’t believe i have all because there’s a lot of the uh… a lot of the whole story in janet soldiers and uh… to the believer in all when they always talk about a lot of things going on against uh… christians in the world right now and how the all right to be in violated because of all the whole material movement and so on and all the stuff going on in the east but if you felt that ever mention any of the guests you had this all past is that the time we live in it seems like everyone’s worried about all that if we don’t get straighten this uh…
country up and get back to the reformation and re-reform and all this stuff, we’re going to be in trouble. And I’m like, aren’t you reading that Bible anymore? I mean, what’s going on? I just found it very interesting how we only fail to the end and never before. Amen. Well, they’re not connecting the dots. Obviously, they’re not reading the Bible to connect the dots with it. But we’re in the last times and these things are going to get worse.
Whatever you see now that you don’t like It’s going to get far worse than that. Once the rapture happens, the Bible says that the world will be characterized by violence and lawlessness and just everything that could go wrong is going to go wrong in society. It’s going to be really a mess. Yeah, yep. I agree with you 100%. Another thing I wanted to ask real fast here is shop A, verse 22. I don’t know if you’re familiar with that verse, how it mentions that he gets talked about like Jehovah possessed me at the beginning of his way or got you know the Lord possessed me.
I think speaking of I think I heard you say that it’s referring to exactly yeah this is a presentation of Christ in the Old Testament because I am kind of like a whole bit clarifying for me. Certainly it’s not teaching that but that he was set up from everlasting that means easy turtle not that he was created. Oh true I see I see you saying that’s right that a Catholic reaver reading here. There you go. But the witnesses don’t get much right.
They get everything wrong it seems. Yeah you’re absolutely right you’re absolutely right in that point and the one more quick one is dinosaurs The Bible says that the world was without sin until Adam’s sin and what does that mean? That means that the Bible says that the world was without sin until Adam’s sin. What does that mean? I am in evil standing on dinosaur bones. I mean sin and perfection will mix together. together he tried to use that as a defense thing that can’t be but but the Bible doesn’t say that there was no sin until Adam it says that the first human to sin was Adam and that death was around the four Adam but death passed upon man for the first time when Adam sinned and so he’s really manipulating the Bible that’s not what the Bible says Yeah, it’s absolutely right.
And then like you know the verse in Peter where he says one day into the Lord it has a thousand years and a thousand years is a day. That’s correct. And a lot of people think oh it’s just just general that doesn’t really mean that. It’s just like how God just measures time and I’m like then why do you use that exact amount of number if he doesn’t mean that. Right and I believe it’s kind of like a prophetic picture of since the recreated week.
You’re as much older than six thousand years. But since the recreated week God’s plan now is not a matter of time. for this time period is that all that would wrap up I believe in seven thousand years. There have been four thousand years or four days of history from Adam to Christ two days since Christ till now and the end of the six days is about here and then there will be a seventh day called the Day of the Lord, a thousand year day of peace on earth.
Good will, for men when Christ comes back and rules the reigns over the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. So yeah, I think it’s a wonderful indication of the time limit set on the recreated period of time from Genesis 1-3 in the first day of the seven days of recreation. And by the way, it’s interesting in Peter, he limits it from the present earth that began with those seven days of the recreated week. And it concludes with the thousand year reign of Christ and the judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
And that’s the end of the millennium. But then it talks about a new heavens and new earth. And prior to that it talks about a past earth that’s already been destroyed in all the life on it was killed in that Noah’s flood, but the flood that occurred in Genesis 1 2. Yeah, that makes perfect sense because you know how do we get these craters and all the other stuff that could only be from catastrophic judgment of some past time.
Absolutely. Well Joe, it’s good to talk to you. I’m glad you’re still listening down there in South Florida. Yes, I have the Internet listening to you too. God bless you and I got bless your ministry. All right. Have a good day. Thank you Joe. That was Joe down in South Florida down in the Hollywood area. Kathy and Chateldougah called in and she says, I do not believe you can say knowledge in the sea. the other day about the gift of knowledge being ceased in 1 Corinthians 13.8.
Otherwise, there would be no new technology, medical knowledge, etc. And of course, Kathy, it’s not talking about technology and medical knowledge and so on. It’s talking about the gift of knowledge which meant that if you were living in that day, you would have perfect recall as to the events and the life of Christ so that you could pass along that information without error. That’s prior to the writing of the New Testament, but once the New Testament was written, then that gift was rendered unnecessary and was taken away.
You also mentioned in your question, Kathy, that 1 Corinthians 13 talks about that, which is perfect and is referring to the Second Coming of Christ. That is also not true. The word Christ comes from the Greek word Christos, and that means it’s masculine. and all the language there, verses 8 through 10, is in the New-Dirt gender, and therefore has to refer to a New-Dirt subject. You cannot refer to Christ because He is masculine. It cannot refer to love, which some people try to say that it does because it is the love chapter, because love in Greek is feminine.
So it has to refer to a New-Dirt subject, and the word perfect is used numerous times about the Bible, which is called that which is perfect, back in the Psalms. as the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul and making wise the simple. In James 1.25, written before 1 Corinthians, the Word of God is called out which is perfect. So that’s the answer, Kathy. And yes, the gift of knowledge and cease related to biblical things and having perfect recall of the biblical events in the life of Christ without error.
But when the New Testament was written, that gift was rendered unnecessary. Thank you Kathy and I am glad you are listening up there in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Anyway, we are coming up on our break time. I hope everybody listening has trusted Jesus as your Savior. If you haven’t, just say Lord I am a sinner, but I trust Jesus right now as my Savior. Believing He died and shed His blood to pay for my sin was buried in rose again from the dead when you trust Christ alone as your only means of reaching heaven God saves you.

If you’re living in the area, please come out and sign up and take the classes with me beginning July 17. We have a lot of Bible questions here, off air plus you’re welcome to call in today and ask an on air question. So I hope you’ll take advantage of our phone number 1-800-576-3771 and call in and ask your question on the air. Keith in Bradenton calls in and he says, I heard you mention this is off air. I heard you mention that there were over 500 witnesses to Jesus walking and talking and etc after his resurrection.
Can you give me the scripture that talks about these witnesses? Well, I certainly can. It’s over in 1 Corinthians 15 and it says here in verse 6 that there were at least 500 brothers at once at one time that Christ was seen of. It says after this he was seen of above 500 brethren at once, of whom the greater part remained unto this present, but some have died. So if you were living when Paul wrote the Corinthian letter, you could have interviewed those 500.
Paul says most of them were still living when he wrote the letter to the Corinthians and 500 witnesses saw Christ. I hope that helps you there. Also can you give me scripture that talks about these witnesses I just did that. outside the Bible are there any written accounts? Well, if you have the works of Josephus, Josephus mentioned Christ risen from the dead. That’s a pretty powerful one. He was a Jewish historian that records even the destruction of Jerusalem and the last holdout down at Masada.
He recorded the Jewish history of that time, but he records, although he’s not a believer, didn’t accept Jesus as his Savior to our knowledge. Josephus Flavius did write about Christ being raised from the dead. And so there is certainly many more things that are outward, confirmations. But you know the fact that the world got turned upside down. People were willing to die because they had seen Christ. risen from the dead. It really did change lives around the disciples who fled the night of the betrayal, now become bold men willing to die because they believed truly Christ was risen or they wouldn’t have died for a lie.
Lou in Tampa, Fortacalls, and what is true repentance? Is it a true brokenness? The answer The Greek word is meta noia, meta m-e-t-a change noia noia noia noia noia noia noia noia Now, being broken, and I take it that means that you come to the end of your road, could lead to repentance. It could lead to a change of mind. But true repentance is basically just a change of mind. The Greek word is meta-noia. Meta-M-E-T-A change, noia-N-O-I-A mind. The two words, methanoya together are methanoya.
And methanoya means a change of mind. And so when a person puts their trust in Christ, they do repent because they change their mind from whatever they were previously trusting in to trusting in Christ. So every believer has repented. I like to say it this way. You can repent without believing, But you cannot believe without repenting. If you understand that, you have got it made. You see, you can repent without believing. What does that mean? You can change your mind about God, about Christ, about sin, about how sin is paid for, about work for salvation, or about the deed of Christ, and any numerous number of things.
But you can do that without believing or without trusting Christ as your Savior. But you cannot possibly trust Christ without having changed your mind, without repenting. So you can repent without believing, but you cannot believe without repenting. When you believe, when you trust Christ, you obviously change your mind in the process from whatever you were previously trusting and that’s biblical repentance. Lou says also, how would you define a true brokenness? Well, I think that’s when you’ve come to the end of your road.
I know people that are alcoholics don’t really get treatment and recover until they come to the end of the road when they see that this is getting them nowhere and so on and so on and so on and brokenness can lead to repentance as many things can but brokenness is not repentance and brokenness does not necessarily have anything to do with repentance. me. The night I trusted Christ, it was a matter of fact situation. I saw what the Bible said.
I said, this is a great deal. God loved me and paid for my sins and He’s offering me eternal life free. God will take you up on it and I trusted Christ as my Savior. And I walked away knowing I was same. So to me there was no sorrow, there was no remorse, It was a factual business deal. God was offering eternal life. I took him up on him. And so some people though, they come to the end of their rope, you might say, and they cry and they weep and they gnash their teeth and they cry out to God and simply trust him.
They become saved. But that has nothing to do with repentance. Repentance is the change of mind that occurs when you trust Christ. does not involve sorrow turning from sin or any of those things necessarily. It can come as a result of those things, but certainly repentance is simply a change of mind. That’s all it is. And of course, it was later that I made a second decision where I trusted Christ to guide my life and chose to serve Him, which is where joy and rewards and blessings come in to the Christian life.
We have here in Charlotte, Michigan, John calls in and he says, what is the, what the recent discovery of a human to 81 million years ago? How does this fit with Adam and Eve being created, uh, afterward in the book of Genesis? Well, first of all, I don’t know what human tooth you’re talking about, but I know in the scopes trial, supposedly the evidence introduced in that trial was a single tooth that they said was dated a million years ago.
And of course they called this as spheropithecus africanus and this was the first man supposedly. After the trial was over they don’t tell you much about this but it turned out to be the tooth of an extinct wild pig. It wasn’t human at all. And so you have to really get your facts right and I don’t question that you don’t have something that’s right here. But I would have to question if it was a human tooth, the dating methods.
Because the dating methods aren’t totally flawed. A Mexican sombrero was found a few years ago and it was only less than 200 years old and yet it was fossilized. Fossilization and dating is messed up because they date the materials that actually make you can transition with the actual elements of the thing being fossilized. And so they date that and sometimes you’re getting a date of the materials around the fossil and not really the real true date of the fossil.
So this is a science that’s oftentimes flawed and I would doubt the dating method. So I think something is not right about this one. If you’re talking about the scopes trial, then you need to do your homework because that came out after the trial, but you don’t generally hear much about it. It was about one human tooth supposedly a million years old, and it turned out to be the tooth of an extinct wild pig. That was found out in Nebraska.
And that’s, again, unfortunate that nobody tells you the truth about what happened in that scopes trial on evolution back in the 20s. We have Dave in Plant City and Dave, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Good morning, Dr. Hank, how are you today? Fine. I got a question about Hank Hana-Graft. I’ve heard you recommend the book by him. I’ve heard you talk about him that he has bad doctrine and I wish you to explain to me why you recommend his book because he told us before bad doctrine breeds bad doctrine and I’ll hang up and listen, thank you.
Well, you know, it’s interesting. The book that I’m recommending is Christianity and Chaos. It has to do with the faith movement. And it does a pretty accurate job of exposing these people as frauds. But it’s true. Hank Inograph is a preterist and replacement theologian. theologian, he believes that Christ already came back in 8070. And although in some areas he takes a literal method of interpreting the Bible, which is the correct method, but when he deals with prophecy, he all of a sudden drops that and uses a metaphorical or pixie-dust type of way of looking at Scripture.
I just think you have to be cautious with anybody you are listening to to make sure that they’re straight across the board. But I do disagree totally with the Prettarism and replacement theology and I believe Hank Ennegraves is totally wrong. He doesn’t believe in a rapture, doesn’t believe in the tribulation period, doesn’t believe in an antichrist coming on the world scene, he doesn’t believe in the thousand year earthly reign of Christ here on the earth. He just explains it all the way.
He says that the Church has replaced Israel that God has no future plans for Israel. And that’s unfortunate because I believe he truly did. Well, we have some more questions here coming in from all over the place. Linda in Largo, Florida calls in. She says, during the tribulation, the remnant that is saved are they Jews only or Jews and Gentiles, the answers an easy one. Revelation 7-9 tells us there are all nations and kindreds and tongues, and they are saved as a result, I believe, of 144,000 who will witness during the tribulation period.
So, Linda, the answers are Jews and Gentiles that are saved. Now, the Jewish remnant are only Jews, but there is a large remnant of the human race, Gentiles, that also gets saved, and all of these people that survive till the end of the seven years will enter in to the earthly kingdom that Christ will establish when He rules over the earth as the king over the earth during that thousand year reign. The phone number here by my mind if you want to call in is 1-800-576-3771.

We have now Albert and Albert is in Richmond, Virginia and Albert, welcome to Bibleline you’re on air. Yes, sir. I was going to ask you in Jeremiah chapter 1 when Lord asked Jeremiah what did did he see and he said I see the rod of an almighty and he said you see well he says I will hasten my work to perform it. Well the other day I heard someone say that in Hebrew that means the same as I will watch over my work to perform it.
Well I think you have to go by what the Bible says literally it says for I will hasten my My word to perform it. So God is going to do whatever He claims He is going to do. It says in verse 14 of that chapter, the Lord said unto me, out of the North and evil, shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land. For lo I will call all my families of the kingdom of the earth, say of the Lord, and they shall come and they shall set everyone his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem and against all the walls round about there and against all the cities of Judah and God was going to judge Israel.
So that’s going to come to pass and we have the Word of God saying so. You know the this almond tree that butted is a picture of the fact that the Word of God lives in a bidets forever. And God is never going to change his mind and he’s going to carry out his word. Whatever he says will come to pass and I think that’s really literally what it’s saying. Yes, sir. Thank you. You’re welcome now and thank you for calling in that was Albert from Richmond, Virginia.

You’re welcome to call in and order the set on John, but it’ll start on July 17th and we’ll run for six Tuesday nights covering that marvelous book.
We now have John in Richmond, Virginia, and John welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Yes, sir. I can have him back in our mission. There’s two floods in the Bible. Genesis 1 and 2, there’s a flood dollar. The Bible says that darkness covered the face of the deep. It wasn’t until the third day of the re-creative week that dry land appeared. And then of course we know in Genesis 9 we have the end of Noah’s flood which was the second flood.
And of course God gave Noah the rainbow saying he would never again destroy a life on the planet earth by the end of the day. flood. The next time he destroys the earth it will be by fire, but right now we have two major floods that have killed life on the planet. What about God? One one one. First, God one. Because in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was what God and the Word was God. That is talking about Jesus.
He is the Word from the Greek as Lagos, and he is the Word of God literally the living word, the Bible of course is the written word and when Jesus spoke his words are the words of God which are the written word that we have in our scriptures but also he is the living word. Well that’s right and in the beginning is when God created the earth originally and that was billions of years ago probably but then somewhere along the line Satan decided to overthrow God and the earth became judged and flooded and all life on the planet was extinguished.
NASA tells us that happened 65 million years ago when a huge asteroid struck the planet in the area of the Eucadam Peninsula with a diameter of about 150 miles and it threw up such debris from the surface of the earth that it shut out the sun’s light for millions of years and all life on the planet was extinguished including the dinosaurs and the plant and animal Now we have the fossil remains of all of that in the coal deposits which are vegetation that is fossilized.
And in the oil deposits which are the petroleum is fossilized animal life trapped underneath the surface of the earth. In the Middle East they’re just umpteen miles of sand but underneath there used to be animal life that was all killed. In pockets Underneath the earth which is a rich oil deposit, so we find over there in the Middle East That’s all from Genesis 1 to from that destruction that occurred There’s one to that’s great. It says the earth became without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep That happened perhaps 65 million years ago Then it says the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters that means to incubate the earth, to brood a pot and to warm it up, he thought it out from the ice ages, and then in seven days, man it in habitable again.
This time he puts man on the planet, and then after man has been here a while, he corrupted himself, and there was a second flood. In Genesis 6 you read about the flood of Noah. Yeah, I don’t read about Noah. You haven’t been reading very carefully. Read 2 Peter chapter 3, and it talks about a flood prior to Noah’s flood that destroyed all life on the planet. We are about out of time. Thank you John for calling in. We are going to have to end it for today.
