And I know we’ll have a super time of getting into God’s Word the entire trip.

We’re going to go to the phone lines in a little bit, and that number is 1-800-576-3771. But first we’re going to tackle the Bible for a few minutes, and we hope that you will open your Bible with us and take a look. In Luke chapter 16 we have an incredible story where Christ pulls back the curtain on the unseen world and lets us know about two different men that die and what happens to them upon death. There’s a rich man and he’s an unbeliever and then there’s a beggar named Lazarus and he’s a believer.

And so they have two really different sets of circumstances here on this earth. The rich man has obviously got everything, every luxury and everything that he could imagine here in this world. And in all of a sudden he dies, and the Bible says in verse 23, and in hell he lifted up his eyes being in torment. Well we find that the word hell, there is not a good translation, it should be the word Hades, and Hades is that hollow place in the very center of the earth where we find here Luke 16, well described, is two separate compartments, one for the lost, where the lost would be in Flaming Torment and the other for the saved, which was a place of comfort, also called Paradise.

Prior to the death, barrel and resurrection of Christ, everybody went to Hades or the Hebrew equivalent word is Shio S H E O L. Shio S H E O L and Hades H A D E S are equivalent. One is from the Hebrew, the others from the Greek language, but they are both the same place. Unfortunately the King James translators translated Hades as as hell, and that is not true. There is nobody in hell right now. Did you hear that?

There is no one in hell yet. Hell was created for Satan and his angels, and Satan and his angels get to be first in. If you read rather, Matthew 25, 31, Jesus talks about the loss of mankind, and he says, depart from me, he cursed into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and as angels. So we know how was prepared for Satan and as angels. They fell long before Adam and Eve fell in the garden and they are already judged and will one day be cast into the eternal lake of fire.

But in the meantime, The lost of mankind go to the heart of the earth through a place called Hades, a place of flaming torment, and they will wait there until after Satan is cast in. But when Satan is cast in, then there will be a judgment called the Great White Throne Judgment that will occur at the end of the thousand-year reign of Christ, which is yet to come. Christ will literally reign on this earth. That means our EIGN. That’s a hard word to hear.

He will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The earth will finally be as the angels announce that his first coming, there’ll be peace on earth could will toward men. That was postponed because Christ was rejected. And God in the interim here has turned to the Gentiles and he’s going to go back and send us the Rapture happens and continue his program for Israel and for this earthly kingdom. At the end of that, Satan’s cast him to the lake of fire and his angels.

Then all of the lost of mankind will be brought up out of Hades. Judge according to their works, assigned a degree of punishment in cast into the everlasting lake of fire. We find here the rich man in Luke chapter 16 in verse 23 is now in Flame and Torment. He can see Abraham. Now how can he do that? Well, it talks here about the two places in the heart of the earth being separated by an impassable gulf. But apparently they can see and hear from either side, but they can’t cross over to the other side.

We learn here that it says beside all this in verse 26, there is between us and you, Abraham says, a great gulf fixed so that they that would pass to you from here cannot pass in vice versa. So you can’t cross over that impassable gulf. So the ones that were in the place of torment, the lost, couldn’t pass over to the Paradise part and those in Paradise could not pass over to the torment part. When Christ died, He went to the Paradise Side, and there He announced liberty to all of the Old Testament saints who were waiting for their salvation to be paid for by Christ’s death.

And He announced that He had done that, and I’m sure there were lots of rejoicing in Hades or Shiel, and on the third day Christ opened that place up and took all the believers to heaven. Now know that paradise is no longer in the heart of the earth, but it is now in heaven itself. And so this side of the cross, when we die as believers, we are absent from the body, present with the Lord. So when we die, we are immediately absent.

Now if you lived in the Old Testament as a believer, you would be absent from the body, present in Hades. You know, in Psalm 16, David talks about how he was going to die and that his soul would go down to Hades. He uses the word sheal and he says that God would not leave him there, but when his Messiah would come, the Messiah would deliver him out of that place, out of the heart of the earth. That’s amazing.

As the Old Testament tells in advance what would take place, and Isaiah said he would lead captivity captive right on up to heaven and that is the believers in the heart of the earth taking them up to heaven. So what Christ did during those three days was he went to the heart of the earth. Remember Matthew 1240? He said he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. That’s 72 hours. Then we also learned that he told the dying thief today, thou soap me with me in paradise in Luke 2343.

So we know from that that paradise is in the heart of the earth because Christ was going to go to the heart of the earth upon his death and he told the dying thief today the day that Christ would die. He would be in paradise and he says, you’ll be with me in paradise. So all the believers were in paradise, but paradise has now been removed and now we go straight to heaven. So this is an interesting passage in Luke 16 because we see what we can’t see with our eyes, the spiritual world, the curtains pulled back.

Two men, one saved, one lost, and they have totally two different destinations. Here Abraham talks to this rich man that was lost, and said, son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivest thy Bye. The Bible is not a purgatory. There is no such thing as purgatory. These people were in a real place. And by the way, the rich man is still there, along with all the unsaved, ever since the beginning of the Bible. and those that died today that are lost will go there, and they’ll remain there till after the thousand years, and then they’ll eventually be casted to hell.

There’s no second chance, and this man didn’t have a second chance. Very interesting stuff. We’re going to cut it off right at this particular point, but read that passage in Luke 16 beginning in verse 19 to the end of the chapter, a fascinating discussion about life after death and the spirit world and what happens when a believer dies and what happens when a unbeliever dies. But today this side of the cross paradise is now in heaven so we’re absent from the body and present with the Lord.

I’m Dr. Englunds from This is Blind Line. I hope you’re a believer. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior and we’re excited about being with you today. We’re excited about going to Israel. We’re excited about this Sunday being a celebration of Thanksgiving and we invite you if you’re driving this to join us. We also invite you to join our worship services during the week anytime you want to, but also live on Sunday morning by going to the internet.

Go to BibleLineMinistries.org or dot com and click on the camera. If you do it at 11 o’clock Sunday morning, you’ll catch our worship service live. But if you go during the week, you can see now we’ve got 53 sermons. It’s a year and one, one years with a sermons plus one extra one, sitting there. So there’s a lot of sermons to watch and hear on the internet. We mentioned it earlier this week, but suddenly we had a serviceman come and attend our service and he told us that while he was in Afghanistan, about ten of his buddies and himself would gather around his laptop and they would watch our worship services.

He said that really got them through those difficult days. Then we announced that on the radio, then we got a soldier calling in from Georgia that said, guess what we were doing in the barracks on this past Sunday. I said, what? He said, we were watching your worship service. It’s exciting to see how God is using the Internet. It’s worldwide. We’re in Afghanistan or Israel or Australia or Russia or China anywhere in the world they can watch and enjoy the radio programs and the television programs and also the worship services and I hope you’ll take advantage of that.

We’re going to go to Mick and he’s in Holmes Beach, Florida and patiently waiting here. Mick, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. I would like to discuss with you today concerning, well, I’m going to end up with on the milk, the basic teaching of our faith that Peter and Paul called the milk of our faith. But as I’ve come into that, I was preaching out to the Salvation Army. And I asked, do you do any work with the Salvation Army for the homeless?

We used to go and preach here locally all the time. Years ago, I knew a major that loved to have me come in and give the gospel. And it was a wonderful time of evangelizing those that they take in and help and feed and clothe and so on. But we’re not active with them now. Well, then you would understand that when you go into that place, if you have a hundred men, 15 might sit down to talk with, you know, and listen to your preaching.

15 or 20 maybe with your, you might have had better attendance than we do. But just recently I was asked to no longer preach there because I preach nothing but the cross, the resurrection, the blood, the Holy Spirit, grace by only giving through the trust in Jesus Christ. And that the men that were saved through Mark chapter 7, Matthew 15, Romans 4, wasn’t about food and drink. I knew these men were being beaten over the head with people telling them to quit drinking, quit doing their drugs.

I like what King Limial says, give strong drink to those that are dying. I tell those men, well, you know, fellows, look what he just said there. Are you dying? Because he’s getting a diet and they give it to those that are dying. They recently called and said, because of our schism, I preached, you cannot lose your salvation. And all the other men coming in preached that you can lose your salvation. They asked that I no longer come in on Friday.

I was okay with that with the exception of one of the men is the head of the Gideon, here locally in Manatee. And I asked him, the point blank is he made the call. I said, well, my goodness, why are you passing out a Bible? out of Bible, if we believe we can lose our salvation, Dr. Hank, I believe that we are no better than Islam. That we might as well make Jesus a minor prophet, we might as well weigh ourselves on the scales at the end of our life if it is not mercy and grace through God.

I would just like to offer your listeners a challenge. When they see a bell ringer from the Salvation Army, this sees, find out if that person is born again and if not them the mill. Second, instead of giving that arms, that $1, $5, $10 bill, I would challenge them to send that money to Bibleline ministries and put a note in there that they were considering considering dropping that in a bucket, but they’ve now made a decision to promote the true gospel of the kingdom of heaven through Jesus Christ and through Dr.

Hank Lindstrom. Did I believe that your message, this radio should be show I listen to Christian television and Christian radio all day long and this is my favorite hour of the day. I’d like to challenge some of the groups to do what you previously did and what I was doing and get out of this Salvation Army with this message of salvation in the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ. And they like you to come in in the evenings between 6.30 and 8.30 and ask your local major.

And I recommend two or three because I’ll tell you what you’re going into Motel 666 is what I nicknamed that place. These guys were tough and I just would like to challenge the the strong Christians here in Manatee County and the Tampa and Sarasota area that they go down to the Salvation Army and they preach the good news this Christmas season. There’s no better time for us to talk about our Savior than right now. As I hang up, Dr.

Hank, could you just go over the milk of our faith so that people know and then give two or three scriptures that people can use as they’re witnessing this holiday season? Absolutely. When we talk about Christmas, we talk about giving. I like the verses that talk about salvation being the gift of God. Romans 623 is a great one. It says that the wages of sin is death. That’s the bad news. If you paid for your sin, it would be by death, which really means separation from God in hell.

Revelation 24, 14 says that the second death is to be cast into the everlasting like a fire. But also, it says in the second part of verse 23 of Romans 6 that the gift of God is eternal life. The gift of God is eternal life. The gift of God. A lot of people celebrate Christmas and give and exchange gifts, but they’ve never received the gift of God. And without that gift, you will not make heaven. So God has purchased a gift.

And that’s really what the main essence of Christmas is all about. The fact that God gave his son at the cross and paid our sin dead and full and was buried in rose again for the dead and when we trust that he did that indeed for us that we would receive that wonderful gift, that verse says the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. So salvation is through Christ, not through denomination, not through an organization, not through works, not through baptism, not through confirmation, not through keeping the commandments, not by living the Christian life, but through Jesus himself as we trust that he He is our Savior that he died and shed his blood to pay for our sin debt and fall.

He saves us eternally. Ephesians 2 8 9, another couple of great verses where it says, Salvation is the gift of God. It says, By Grace, by mercy on Meredith Paver, are you saved through faith in Jesus Christ? And this salvation is none of yourself. It is the gift of God. So God’s wonderful gift is to be received by trusting Christ as Savior. Last Verse John 1, 12 says to as many as received him.

Salvation is by receiving Christ and it says when we do that God grants authority for us to become born again to become his sons and the last phrase tells us how we receive Christ by believing or trusting on his name that Jesus Christ is exactly who he claims it he is that he’s got a came and took on human flesh and paid our sin debt in form but a lot of people don’t realize the salvation in the army is a church it is a religion and They have a false gospel and they believe in works for salvation and believe that you have to keep working or you can lose it.

And that is obviously incorrect. But thank you for sharing that, Mick, down in Holmes Beach, Florida. And we pray that we could really give out the gift that really counts this Christmas, and that’s the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. Thank you for your call. have just a couple of seconds left so we’ll have to hold everybody else. We’ve got a slew of people waiting online to get up on the air and we’ll hold you over the brake if you don’t mind.

I’m Dr. England Stremen. We’re excited about being with you. Again, pray for us here as we try to reach out to as many as we can and you are the partners who make it possible because we can’t do this by ourselves. It’s your gifts to Bible and to keep us on the earth. Thank you, make for encouraging people to give the Bible and because this enables us to not only stay on the air where we are but to expand even further.

God bless all of you and thank you in advance for your gifts and prayers for Bible and we’re going to take a short break. We’ll come right back and we’ll do the second half hour and if you online wait there and we’ll be back in just a minute. Don’t go away. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund. It’s great to be with you, and I appreciate all of you who listened to Bibleline.

And we know that there are many, many, many, many different Bible teachers out there. You have to be careful, and the Bible says, that we have to test what they say against the Scripture. 1 John, chapter 4, says to the Christian, don’t be gullible. It says, don’t believe everything you hear. You need to test the spirits against the Scripture to see whether they are of God or not. And you know, you can’t judge by your eyes. you have to judge by the scriptures because it says in 2 Corinthians 11 that false teachers will look good.

It says that they transform themselves into the apostles of Christ and they’ll look like Christians and talk like Christians and I guess they’ll like Christians and carry a Bible like a Christian and talk like a Christian yet when you dig down and ask the right questions you find out they’re gone. And I believe anybody who believes that they can lose their salvation really is trusting in their works because they’re ultimately determining their salvation on how they live out this life, whether it’s for the Lord or not for the Lord.

And if they do, they go to heaven, if they don’t, they go to hell. So they’re the Savior and not Christ because they’re depending upon what they’re going to do in their future to ultimately get them to heaven. We really need to be able to see the difference and recognize that We need to be preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ’s salvation by faith alone apart from any human work. I’m excited about being with you today and every day and we thank God for all of you who make that possible because it’s your gifts that keep my blind on the air.

We really could not do this ministry without our listeners’ help. And thank God for every one of you who enable us to be able to do that. You can give a gift by credit card over the phone. You can also call and ask for an envelope to be sent. We’ll get that gift out to you. We hope that you’ll take advantage of our resource center over the holidays as they’re coming up rather quick. You might be thinking now about a Christmas gift that you might want to get before we might run out of stock.

We don’t have a large inventory, but we hope we can take care of our radio audience as they try to get somebody a scofial Bible or one of the other specials that we’ve mentioned today. Don’t forget we’re going to Israel. We’d love to have you get the number to call. You can make your reservation and we will have the itinerary up on the website in a couple of days now. And you can look at that. But we’re going to have a lot of Israel.

I hope you can go with me. We’re going to be joined now in the next half hour of BibleLens. I’ll keep you radio tuned right where it is. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re back from that break and good to be with you as every day we look forward to this time when we get together.

We appreciate all of you who listen daily and we thank you for that comment by Mick that he says this is the best hour of his day as he listens to Bible Island. We hear a lot of people tell us that. We’re certainly humbled by that and we thank God that Bible Island is a blessing. I think that’s because we talk about the Scriptures, we give you the Scriptures, we support what we say by the Bible. And I think that’s so important.

I always like to say chapter and verse please because a lot of people say things and teach things that are not supported by the Scriptures. And I like Isaiah 8, 20, where it says if they speak not, according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Sometimes we don’t like to hear that what we’re embracing is not truth. But when you go to the Bible, that’s what is truth because Jesus said in John 17, 17, thy word is truth.

So we go to the Word of God to find out what truth is. And truth doesn’t change. It’s amazing how religions are changing all the time. They change the rules, they change the practices and it’s never the same. But the Word of God is always going to be the same. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 1.25 that the Word of God lived in a Bible forever. It’s never going to be changed. It’s never going to be revised. And you have to be careful when people start revising the Bible and trying to tamper with the Bible.

And we see a lot of that today with all these new modern translations. And let me tell you, we have a great book called New Age Bible Versions that will expose at least about twenty of these new ones and really open your eyes guess what you will not be able to find that book in any christian bookstore they will not sell that book let me tell you they will they don’t want you to read it they don’t want you to see it and why because it will destroy their business because they’re selling all those new translations so if you bought that book you would say whoops i don’t want to get those translations and you would kill their business so You will not find this book anywhere.

You’ll probably only find it through us. And it’s called New Age Bible Versions, about 800 pages that will really expose to you the problems with the new translations, where they just change the meanings. And it’s sad. One of my favorite verses is 2 Corinthians 5, 21. that says, and I quote, that God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. What a great verse it tells us about the substitutionary payment that Christ made at the cross, that our sins were taken by God and laid upon Christ, and He was made to be sin, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

That’s the requirement for entrance into heaven. must be as righteous as God. And the righteousness of God is imputed or credited to the account of the believer based upon the fact that our sins were taken and paid for by Jesus at the cross. You can’t get into heaven except for that exchange that took place where our sins were laid upon Christ. And Christ was made to be sin and we are made His righteousness when we trust Him as our Savior.

What a grand verse. But you know, like, for example, The good news for modern man and several of these modern ones changed it. They said, let me quote it from the good news Bible. It says Christ knew no sin. They got not much right. At least they recognize the asymptosis. But then it says, was made to share our sin in order that we might share his righteousness. What’s wrong with that? That’s really saying Christ pays for part. You pay for part.

You didn’t share our sin. Christ took it all. He paid it all. I love that hymn. Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe sin had left the crimson stain, but He washed it as wide as snow. Christ didn’t pay for part. He paid for all of my sin. And by the way, if you paid for any part of your own sin, you go to hell. The Bible says the wages of sin singular is death. All it would require.

The reason why I’m so glad Jesus paid it all, aren’t you? These people really ought to sing the song differently. They ought to say, Jesus paid only part. I’ll pay part myself. have to laugh but it’s sad, it’s tragic that people don’t get the point. They really should change the words to the songs they sing and instead of blessed assurance, they ought to sing blessed unassurance. Those people that don’t know that Jesus paid it all are always hanging on the edge of the cliff hoping that they make it someday when the Bible says you can actually know that you’re going to heaven when you die.

Well, if you’d like to help Bible and your gift would really be appreciated. And you can give that by credit card over the phone by calling our 800 number. You can also call and ask for an envelope to be sent and give it by sending that gift by mail a check. You can also go on the internet to our website, Bible and ministries. And there are several places there to give, especially on our online bookstore. It opens up that way so you can give a gift there.

And you can give it an increments of $1 You could really give a $1 gift, but then you just tell them how many times you want to multiply that $1, whether it be $10 or $50 or 100 times, which would be $100. You can go to there and take a look and see if you might want to help Bibleline out by praying for us and also giving to Bibleline. We’re planning to go to Israel, and we do have a phone number now, and you can call that number and you can make your reservation.

That’s for February 25th, 2008. We’ll leave on a Monday. We’ll return on March 7th and that will be a Friday and will be a 13-day trip. 12 full days in Israel. This will be a jam-packed trip with, we’ll be studying the Bible and seeing things every day. That’s really going to be exciting. I would love to have you with me. It would be trip number 15 for me. If you want that number, it’s QR travel that’s doing all the arrangements for me.

You can write this number down. You have your pencil ready? Are you ready? I hope. If not, call or 800 number and we’ll give it to you here to call. 847 is the area code 847 that’s Chicago and the number is 30708303070830 847 area code that’s Chicago and 3070830 and we will have you call QR travel and if you put your deposit down your way and we’ll then talk about details. We’ll probably do a webcast sometime along the way to talk about how to pack and what you need to do or get and things that will make you travel a lot more smooth.

I’ve been now 14 times and this will be my 15th time so we’ll be able to probably get us all together on the internet. And you can ask questions and we’ll try to answer them right on the internet group meeting for all those that will be going from different areas. Anyway, I hope that you’ll plan to go with us. And of course, if you live in the area, this Sunday will be a Thanksgiving celebration in our worship service at 1030.

And then we’re going to have Turkey. Oh my goodness, I hear people are some are cooking them in a traditionalFACE, some are smoking the turkeys, some are deep frying the turkeys, we’re going to have turkey of every variety and it’ll all the trimmings and the dressing and the gravy and everything. Oh, we’d love to have you come and your deputy ties to bring everybody, you know, just bring your family, your appetite, be my guest at the meal and that’ll be a Thanksgiving believer’s celebration.

I think we’ll be in this like the pilgrims. Get in together. Thank God for the many blessings we have. If you can’t, of course you can always join our worship service online. Bible and the ministries click on that camera at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning and you can be with us wherever you are in the world. And then of course you can go back and see all of these. In the archive we have 53 sermons there. That’s a year and one week worth of sermons sitting there.

We have David up in Albany, New York and thank you David for calling us. We know that we’re on every day up in Albany and welcome to Bible Ann. Hey Dr. Hank, how you doing? Good. We appreciate you so much. Way up here. That’s wonderful. We really do have a wonderful group of people in Albany and all that part of Northern New York and we appreciate all of you. That’s awesome. Well, the reason for calling Pastor is I heard a pastor say over there that you can’t know that Judas is lost and I knew that was kind of wrong, right?

Absolutely wrong. There’s no doubt about it that he was lost and in Acts chapter 1 verse 25 It says he went to his own place which was he’s called the son of perdition which means he’s the son of hell but Jesus tells us he never believed and he was not cleansed of his sin. In John 664, and if you haven’t written it down, this is a good one, Jesus said he knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him.

And it’s very clear he’s referring here to Judas and a little bit further down in the passage here. Peter seems to like to be this spokesperson for everybody and he says about the disciples, we believe that you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God, which is true. And then Jesus corrected Peter and said, Heaven, I had chosen you 12 and one of you is a devil. And he’s talking about Judas who was involved by the devil and he was the one that betrayed him who was not a believer.

But also in John 13, we find here that Jesus spoke of the disciples as being clean, cleansed of their sin except for one in verse 10 of John 13 and says Jesus saved to Peter. He that is washed needed not save to wash his feet but is clean every wit and you are clean but not all for he knew who should betray him. Therefore he said you are not all clean. Judas was not clean. Judas was not washed to the sin.

The others were. And the reason why that’s such an important message is because had he been a believer in all the things that would have happened, what you said was he went and hung himself and you know we just can’t know but the message is also that Jews is lost from the beginning meaning that if the unforgivable sin is just police it’s not. anything else that he had done? He just did not lose his salvation. He never had salvation.

And many claim that he committed suicide and that that was the reason why he went to hell. He didn’t go to hell because he committed suicide. He didn’t go to hell because he betrayed Christ. He didn’t go to hell because of any of those reasons. It was because he never trusted Christ as his very own Savior. Appreciate it. Thank you very much. All right, you’re so welcome, Dave, up in Albany, New York. were now going to albert enrichment virginia and albert welcome to bible and you’re on here uh…

i had a pastor one time to help me in roman chapter seven and paper fifteen he said that paul was saying you know that he would not did it you know that he for the flesh in the spirit and he was saying that things he would do you wouldn’t do and stuff like that and then he goes on to say and then part of my This pastor said that that was when Paul was unsaved. But then I heard another man say that he wasn’t even talking about himself, but he was talking about a mortal person trying to live in their own strength.

Well, guess what? They’re all wrong because here Paul has been saved 25, maybe 30 years at this point. He is talking about himself. He speaks in the first person, which many times he is all inclusive and said, we, we, we, including all of us who are believers. But here he says in verse 15, for that which I do, I do, I allow not, but that which I would that I do not, but what I hate that I do. And he is talking about in verse 18, I know that in me that is in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing.

He recognized that he had a sin nature which we all have and carry with us until we die. He had a struggle, as we all do, as believers, between our two natures, the old nature and the new nature which wore within our body. We find here he tells us that this was a present tense. It wasn’t some event in the past. He says in verse 21, I find in a law that when I would do good evil is present with me, for I delight in the law of God after the inward man, but I see another law in my members warring against the law of my mind and bringing me into the captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

So he’s talking about in his body there’s a sinful nature that desires to do wrong and every Christian has to deal with that. We need to submit ourselves to the Lord and obey Him and allow the power of the Holy Spirit within us to give us victory over sin. Good to ask you one more question. Sure. Okay. And when the Pope said something about being a Catholic, was he talking to me in order to be saved? Was he talking about being a Roman Catholic or just being a Catholic?

And also I want to challenge all your listeners to send you a financial Christmas offering. And I’ll hang up. Well, thank you so much. And that’s a nice gesture on your part. We, though the Pope is really saying that the Roman Catholic Church is the only only one true church. This was an announcement we made a month or two ago about the primacy of the Roman Catholic Church that it is the only true church. Every other church is inferior and their priests or ministers are not ministers of God because they don’t have the apostolic succession.

That is really a lot of craziness because Rome, the Roman Catholic Church didn’t really begin as we know it until 586 A.D. with Pope Gregory. Prior to that time, the church was headed up in Constantinople from the 4th century, and we find that then it split into the eastern and western churches, and there’s a tradition on the eastern side that is claiming that they’re the one true church and they claim they’re the one true universal church whereas the roman church claims that they’re the one uh…

true church and so this is a uh… craziness because the one true church is comprised of all believers everywhere that they call upon the name of lord jesus christ is there only hope of heaven and is not talking about a denomination headed up in any city or any place so You become a member of the church church by being born again. And when you’re born again, you’re placed into the family of God and placed into the body of Christ, which is the church.

The body of Christ is comprised of all believers. It’s a living organism. The prize of all believers everywhere that have trusted Jesus as their Savior. We’re going to now go to, let’s see here, we have Betty in Tampa, Florida, and Betty, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Good morning, Pastor Hank. Good morning. I have a question about the law that was given to Moses on the two tablets and the ceremonial law that was supposedly written into Moses’ book. Am I in correct in that?

That’s correct. Yes. I have been told that it wasn’t the Ted Commandments that was nailed to his cross, but it was the ceremonial law. It was nailed to the cross. I’m not sure opinion on that. Okay. Well, whoever’s telling you that is wrong. If you read Colossians 2 14 through 16 where talks about Christ nailing the law to his cross and taking it out of the way Notice he includes in there the Sabbath. He says let no man therefore judge you and meet or respect of the holy days of the the hymn of the the moon the new moon and so on or of the Sabbath the Sabbath was one of the commandments the fourth commandment was the Sabbath commandment and obviously he’s telling you that’s nailed to the cross because he says no man judge you in respect of the Sabbath and so they are

they’re incorrect. He took all of the law. The Ten Commandments and all the other laws there were about 969 total laws that all were taken away and nailed to the cross. Okay well that’s what had surprised me when I heard this because I believe as you’ve caught about it. When I read about this, it made me think about the Sabbath because by taking the Sabbath out or saying that the Sabbath is no longer here, it’s for the Israelis. It’s not for the Gentiles.

Exactly. He apparently is writing that by taking it out, it’s saying that God is not the Creator because the Fourth Commandment does talk about Him being the Creator. I was just wondering what your opinion was about that. Okay, well they’re totally wrong. The law was all nailed to the cross and taken out of the way and we’re justified before God by faith and that was even true during the age of the law because the law couldn’t save anybody. Galatians 3 tells us it was a schoolmaster to bring people to a realization that they needed a savior and received the promise.

The law of salvation, which is by faith, was given to Abraham 430 years before the law was ever given. In relation to chapter 3 of the Marvel’s chapter to just die just very slowly. And it takes us back to Abraham, who is the father of faith, and tells us that everybody, and everybody that has to be saved, has to be saved the way he was by trusting Christ. And if the law came along later to bring men to a recognition that they could not save themselves, because the law, obviously, our perfection, which you know, how can a person live out their life and not tell one lie or not live out their life and not, you know, worship the Lord God day and night with all their heart, with all their mind, with all their soul.

Everybody brings that command. And so on. We’ve really got ourselves in a fix and we need to save you. That’s what Christ is all about. Thank you, Betty, for calling. That’s so great. We now have Ken in largo and uh… no germany is next to your germany is in st petersberg germany welcome to the bible carlle and i think that i’ve got a few quick question uh… for her the other day about that the origin of christmas was from uh…

bale worker and i was there and have a question uh… is it okay if we observe the conditions that we normally don’t have to listen to the the lights and everything like that. You take on that and last, could you explain to me what day is the Sabbath or? I know they said it was the seventh day but Sunday is the beginning of the calendar and I’m going to hang up the list here. Okay, well the Sabbath is Saturday and it really begins at sundown Friday night because the Jews count their night first and they count it from sundown to sundown.

So Friday Second Night’s Sundown, the Saturday Night’s Sundown is the Sabbath. Christ rose on the first day of the week and gave us this new day to celebrate and commemorate His Resurrection from the Dead every time we meet as believers on the first day. If you read the book of Acts Pentecost began on Sunday. The early Christians if you read Acts chapter 20 met on the first day of the week. First Corinthians 16 talks about the Christians coming together to meet on the first day of the week.

from the get-count. As far as Christmas celebrations, I think if you tell the true story of Christ and your worshiping Christ, then it doesn’t really matter. The trappings really have a pagan origin. And I think you just need to, and I don’t think anybody’s worshiping Baal today, but the origin is with Baal worship. But I like to tell the story of the gospel through the two trees that are the two trees that tell that story in the Bible. The story of the tree in the garden is the tree of the knowledge of the evil when man took of that fruit.

He died spiritually and was cut off from God. Then there’s another tree that Jesus was nailed to. Those that partake of that tree by faith become saved. I love to tell the story of the gospel through the tree, but I personally don’t think it makes any real big difference except that you know the truth and you take this as an opportunity to tell people the real true story that the tree is paying an origin, but yet Jesus died on a tree.

And it’s the gift that was nailed to the tree, not the gifts that are under the tree that are significant Christmas, we need to tell people about Christ who died for us and was nailed to that tree in order that he might purchase the gift of eternal life. I celebrated 18 Christmases before I ever received the gift of Christmas. I really didn’t ever know that I had to trust that Jesus died on that tree in order to receive the gift of everlasting life which I did at 18.

And I wish I had received it sooner. And I would have, I think, of somebody who only told me. Thank you for that call. We have now Ken and Largo and Ken. Welcome to by Moana. Hello Ken, you’re on the air. Yes, I had a question concerning the doctrine of the book of life you were talking about yesterday and everyone being written on the beginning. Yes. And I guess the non-believers are just blotted out at the end. At death they’re brought it out and when they stand before the Lord of the Great White Throne Judgment their names are not found in the book they’re already gone.

That seems so contrary to what everyone else is teaching. Oh, I know it. But you’ll hear a lot of that from me because I guess it’s my engineering background. I graduated in electrical engineering and I go crazy when things don’t match up when A plus B doesn’t equal C. And most people, I guess they just, nothing bothers them. But I like to know the truth. the truth. And I think the truth is very plain that we’re all in the book, but our names come out at death if we’re unbelievers.

But if you become a believer, God makes the promise of Revelation 3 5, He will never block your name out of the book. Okay, when it says that the names are not written in the book of life, that just means that they’re crossed out because that’s like Revelation 13 8. Yeah, you know if you read the time when that occurs that’s really at the when the Antichrist is cast into hell and Satan and so on and at that point when the book is open their names are not written there.

The Lamb’s Book of Life has been from the beginning or from ever, but the names are not there at that particular point in time in the future when he looks up all the names of the unsaved are not there. So it’s a future event looking back and unbelievers are not going to be found in the book at that point in the future when Satan’s cast into help. Okay, and in Revelation’s 2012 where it talks about them being dead and being judged out of the things written in the book.

Those are the unsaved and their names noticed in verse 15 are not found in the book because at that point we’ve already gone to the end of the millennium. I’m out of time I hope that helped we have a lot more calls sitting out there waiting again pray for Bible and if you want to give a gift or help us so you could do that by credit card over the phone or call and get an envelope so you can mail that gift in.
