We have some online bookstore specials and you can call in and get some of these for Christmas gifts as we get closer.
You might want to order something in time to give us a Christmas gift. We havearrassed that five volume, Zondervan, pictorial Bible dictionary. It’s a wonderful set. It weighs 18 pounds. It’s a lot of books for your money. It retails for about $200. We have it for a gift right now of $110. You might want to maybe offer that to somebody’s nice Christmas gift. We also have a blue spare shaver systematic theology. It originally was in eight volumes. They’ve now put two volumes in one.
And so there’s four volumes total that give you the eight volumes. That’s a wonderful study of theology and the major doctrines of the Bible and is for the series student. But that was written by Lewis Breshefer, the founder of Dallas Theological Seminary. And we have that also. It retails for about 180. We have it for 110 and a nice Christmas gift. The strongest in coordinates, Stofield Pibles, many other things that I think you will find Let’s get into our Bibles and we’re going to turn to the Old Testament and we’re going to turn to Zechariah chapter 12.
It’s interesting here that it says in verse 1, The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel saith the Lord. So here the Lord is speaking and he talks here about his burden for Israel. That’s right, Israel is not done for as those who believe in replacement theology, but Israel very much is a part of God’s program and in his mind he’s expressing here his love for Israel what he’s going to do. It says here, this is the Lord it says which stretch of the fourth day heavens.
It’s interesting that phrase is used in a number of places and it’s very scientific. You know, James Hubble came along and discovered, he’s the one after which the Hubble telescope was named, James Hubble discovered that the universe is expanding. And so what better word could you use to describe that than here we have in Zachariah and other books in the Old Testament described that, in fact, that God stretches forth the heavens. They’re still stretching forth. This was written about 2500 years ago and about 2500 years before James Hubble came along and the Bible here describes the universe as stretching outward.
Here we have it today James Hubble tells us that expanding and all scientists are in agreement. That’s exactly what’s taking place. Then this says here, and layeth the foundation of the earth and then notice on equal plain thirdly it says here, he formeth the spirit of man within him. So we find that as great, perhaps, or greater than stretching out the universe from its original creation as it still is stretching out, laying the foundation of the earth, he forms the spirit of man within him.
We are the unique creation in this universe, and God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. But he declares this God who creates the universe, who created the earth and the one that created our spirit and formed the spirit of man within man. He says, Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about when they shall be in siege both against Judah and Jerusalem.
This is speaking of the last days. This is speaking about now. And look at what it’s saying here. The phrase cup of trembling is not properly translated. It should read a cup of intoxication. What it’s saying here is that the nations around Israel will become intoxicated over Jerusalem. You know that’s what we see in the news right now. We see that Jerusalem is being carved up as a part of the peace plan and that all of the Arab nations want Jerusalem as their capital.
It’s presently the capital of Israel and always has been, but they want to make it their capital and they’re intoxicated over this. You know, for two thousand years nobody cared for the past two thousand years and even when the Jewish people went back to the state of Israel there wasn’t much to do about Jerusalem. But look at what’s happening right now. Jerusalem is being put on the carving block and they want to give it back or at least the part that they had prior to the sixty-seven war to the Palestinians.
Well, it says in verse 3, it’s a world involvement here. It says, in that day, will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people? So everybody on the planet is going to become involved in this thing. It says here a burdensome stone for all people and all the burdensome stones together with it shall be cut in pieces. Can you imagine anybody that gets involved with Jerusalem is going to wind up in a big war and it says here, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Well, my friend, that’s going to happen. That’s Armageddon. The whole world is going to become involved in a war and it’s World War III, I guess. And this is going to be where all the people that involve themselves with it will be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth will be gathered together against it. It says here in verse 9, it shall come to pass in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
So here the Lord is going to fight for Israel and defend Israel and we find that he will destroy the nations that come against Jerusalem. Isn’t that amazing? Well you know it says in verse 10 here and this is a great verse. I, through the context here, this is the Lord Himself speaking, the Lord says I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and of supplications and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced.
What an amazing reference here, long before Christ was ever crucified. it predicts that when Jesus Christ comes back at the Second Coming, the one who will defeat the nations that come against Jerusalem will be recognized because of the pierce marks in his hands and his feet. It says, they will look upon me in the context. This is the Lord himself who is speaking. Notice verse 1, the burden of the word of the Lord for Israel saith the Lord. And in all the way through here it says, and I will and I will and I will.
And verse 4, and that may say, if the Lord verse 9, and then she’ll come to pass in that day, that I will. And verse 10 tells us that God is going to come back and He’ll be recognized because He has been pierced. They will look upon Him or upon Me rather, whom they have pierced. When was God ever pierced? When was God pierced? Well, it was two thousand years ago when God came and human flesh and the person of Christ and went to the cross and died and paid for your sins and mine.
Isn’t that amazing? And this is Zachariah’s Old Testament. And you know, again, it mentions it in chapter 13. It says when Christ comes back and one will say unto him, what are these wounds in your hands? It’s a reference to the crucifixion. Christ wasn’t crucified though hundreds of years later. Yet when Christ comes at the second coming, he’ll still have that nail-scarred body, wounds in his hands, his feet, and he’ll be recognized by that. Why are these wounds in your hands?
Then he shall answer those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. When Christ came to his own, his own rejected him, and he went to the cross and died a cruel death by crucifixion and they’ll look upon me, God says, whom they have pierced. Amazing. Well, Jesus is the Savior. And obviously, he’s the Savior of the Old Testament and the New Testament. And he’s the Savior of all time and of all mankind. And nobody’s ever going to enter heaven according to the Bible unless they trust Christ.
John 14, 6th Christ made it very clear neither. Rather than John 14, 6th Christ said, I am the way. the truth, the life, and no man, no man, no man, Kevin Son of the Father, but by me, John 14, 6. Peter made it so clear in Acts 4, 12, neither, he says, is there salvation in any other, for there’s none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. There’s only one Savior. There’s only one way to heaven, and that is Jesus.
If you haven’t trusted him, you’re not going to make heaven. It’s not based upon your continuing anything. Salvation is not a process. It’s received by faith. I had a gentleman come in this morning and he was talking about, he was talking to a pastor who told him that if he stopped believing, he would no longer be saved. It’s interesting. Let me give you a great verse and I gave it to this gentleman. He went away really smiling He’s listening right now Dennis.
That was good, but in second Timothy it says in chapter two of second Timothy And you need to write this one down someplace But second Timothy two thirteen it says even if we believe not Yet he God to buy the faithful he cannot deny himself Even if you stopped believing, it wouldn’t end the fact that you’re saved. Once you become saved, you’re saved by an act of faith at a point in time forever. And it’s not based upon your continuance of believing.
It says here in this wonderful verse, even if we believe not, yet he abides faithful. He’s still going to carry on his promise. He saves you at the moment you believe. I’ve been to Ephesus, Turkey. You read the book of Ephesians written to the believers in Ephesus. It says, 4 by grace, and the tense really should read 4 by grace you have been saved through faith. I’ve stood there in the ancient Roman amphitheater there in, or Roman theater there in Ephesus.
of the people of Ephesus cried out, great as the goddess of the Ephesians, Diana, for two hours they ran at this, but Paul writes back to these people that Ephesus had gotten saved, and he reminds them, by grace you have been saved. You see, you are saved at a point in time, and Paul could remind them of that event when they got saved, when they trusted Christ. They were already saved, and were saved by faith. Anyway, we’re gonna go ahead and go to our callers.
I’m Dr. Englund from this is my blind and the word of God is so fantastic The Savior of the Old Testament is the same Savior of the New Testament Jesus is God who took on flesh and God was pierced at the cross and he comes back in that same body that is sick and coming and Look upon God says me whom they have pierced we’re gonna go to Debbie in Chesterfield Virginia and Debbie, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Good morning. I’ve heard several pastors say that for older healthy adults that retirement is unscriptural. Is there anything in the Bible to back that up? Oh, I don’t know about that. It does say definitely in Proverbs and other places that we should save for our older age. and I don’t know, it means we just sit down on the back porch and do nothing, but absolutely, we wind down as we get older and we can’t do the things that we formerly could do.
And obviously, many times older folks have to be cared for and waited upon, just like we did with our children when they were young. And so I don’t think I agree with that, although for myself, if possible, I want to keep on keeping them on until the Lord takes me by death or by the rapture. I don’t want to quit. I don’t have any plans for retirement. But the Lord sometimes has plans for retirement for you because maybe you become unable to work and you become unable to do the things that you formerly could do.
So I think that would be wrong. But I think the point is that as long as we’re kicking in our body, we ought to be serving the Lord and the Bible tells us in the Psalms that even in old age we ought to be able to bear fruit for the Lord as we share testimony and tell others about Christ. So I think maybe that was the pastor’s intention but definitely the Bible does I think talk about people getting older and having to be cared for.
It talks about those that older and widows to be cared for and those that are unable to work to be cared for. Okay, thank you so much and have a great day. Okay, Debbie, thank you so much and I definitely myself don’t plan to retire but we’ll just have to see how that works out. I have Sean in Richmond, Virginia and welcome Sean to the Bible and program. Hey, don’t sir. Good. Yeah.
The dead being in heaven. I know that the dead are not in hell. Those are unfair, they’re in the ancient Hades. I wonder if you could point me to the scriptures. They were pointed why we, um, why face what I have immediately. He said he didn’t believe in the parable. I know you don’t believe that. The second question that I had I’m going to hang up after was you claim that Satan and Lucifer are not the same people in the Bible.
It’s one of your English scripture that pointed out as well. Alright, thank you so much. First of all, the dead that our believers are in heaven. Second Corinthians 5, 8 is the great verse, absent from the body, present with the Lord. That’s Second Corinthians 5, 8, absent from the body, present with the Lord. Talks about us getting a new body, and usually when the Bible talks about death, it’s referring to the body, and we will get new bodies, of course, at the Rapture, and those that have died before us will get their bodies first, and then we, which are alive, will be given of our bodies as we are caught up.
But first the salarians gives us the key where it says in verse 14 if we believe that Jesus died and rose again. Even those which sleep in Jesus will he bring with him. So we know those that have died and are spoken about as sleeping. Their bodies are sleeping not their souls are present with the Lord and he brings them back with him and then their new bodies will rise up from the earth that then Christ will rise first.
So it is a reference to the body rising up to meet the soul coming with the Lord back to the upper atmosphere of the earth. And it says of course they will be reunited, soul and body. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord. Isn’t that great? So definitely as a believer we are immediately present with the Lord and will await our new bodies.
But the lost are in Hades as you mentioned, and they are in flame and torment, and will remain there. Of course, after Satan is cast into hell, then they will be brought up and assigned a degree of punishment and cast into the everlasting lake of fire. So I hope that answers that question. Of course, about parables. The parables are difficult. The Bible says they were written to concealed truth, not revealed truth, but they certainly are to be taken seriously.
And if you interpret the Bible correctly by comparing Scripture with Scripture, making sure your interpretation is in agreement with the rest of the word of God, The parables are very valuable tools. The wonderful thing is in Matthew 13, Christ interprets some of the parables for us. So there we have no question at all about what they’re saying. But I love the parables, and I had a whole series that I taught on parables that is available on CD. You might want to invest in that, Sean.
Thank you. And we’re now going to take a look at an offer of question. Bill in Sarasota needs this offer of question. He says, I heard a preacher say that in Luke 16 the rich man Lazarus story that it’s a parable. Now that’s not a parable. Parables never mention specific individuals. And here we have Lazarus name by name. There was a real man named Lazarus and there was a rich man. Now it’s interesting that God does not disclose the name of that rich man because he was lost and I think God didn’t want us to perhaps know his name.
But yet out there in folklore and so on, they called him Demas. But that’s a real story. It says it was a certain rich man and it was a certain beggar. This is not a parable. This is a real story. And it’s really pulling back the curtain on the unseen world force. We have Wayne in Stoney Creek, Virginia. He says, can you explain what happens to the soul and the spirit at physical death? Well, the soul and spirit are divisible, but yet never separate.
We know that they both go to heaven absent in the body, present with the Lord. I would recommend you read 2nd Corinthians 5. We cited one verse from that. But if you read beginning in verse 1, it talks about how that when we physically die, We lose this physical body and we then of course are present with the Lord and will await the new body that will receive at the event of the day. We have several more of these offer questions but I think we’re going to hold them until the second half of the program.

Well, we’re going to go ahead and go back to the phone lines.
And we’re going to then catch some more of these off air questions. We have, I think it’s a Strid in Richmond, Virginia. This seems to be Richmond, Virginia Day today. We have a lot of you Richmond people calling. Welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Hi, Dr. Lenzahn. Yes. I have a question for you. I’ve come into, I guess, what I’m trying to figure this out for myself and then going to the Bible. I’m just having a really hard time with the question of are you able to lose your salvation?
And I know that my husband listens to you frequently and he says that there’s no way once you become a Christian and you believe that Jesus died for you and that’s the only way that you can be saved. But then I speak with other people and my parents on the other hand say that if you willfully send you cut yourself off. From Lord and I’m just having a really difficult time with Just how you know, how do you cut yourself off if that happens?
What are you supposed to do and you know the whole like there’s nothing you can do to lose your salvation once you’re safe? Right, you can’t you can’t cut yourself off from salvation You need to write a couple of verses down and John 6 37 is one of the good ones Jesus says him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out so there’s nothing I think you can do. There is no exception clause. I’ll never forget years ago, like I was talking to you said, but pastor, you don’t realize what I have done.
You know, if you only knew what sins I’ve committed, you would agree with me that I would be cast out. And I said, well, let’s look at the verse again. It says, him to come up to me, I will know why it’s cast out except they do the sins that you committed. I’ve never asked her what they were, but it doesn’t, there is no exception clause. and says, I will know why. As that means under no circumstance, under no conditions would Christ ever cast you out.
Then you have the people that say, oh, okay, I have to concur with you. And they say, well, Christ won’t cast me out, but I can cast myself out. And that’s kind of like you’re cutting yourself off. But in John 637, that’s also impossible because Jesus said, this is the Father’s will which has sent me. that of all which you have given me I should lose none, not one, but raise them all up against the last day. So he’s not going to lose one person.
So if one person in all of history were ever lost, Christ would be a liar. Just not going to happen. Now that doesn’t mean we can live as we please and God will definitely discipline the delinquent believer. He can spank us and get our attention and try to get a stack on track. He can also take us home to heaven early. But also we have to give it a count one day for what we’ve done with our lives. Then that has to do with degree of reward.
So blessings now and rewards in eternity are based upon our works. And so we truly ought to lift the Lord, but we don’t do it to be saved. We’re saved by what Christ did for us. Right. Okay. So what my concern is, and I mean my husband, he totally stands with you on what you say 100%. I do agree with that because I read the Bible and I’ve read it my whole life. I’m concerned for the ones that are telling you differently because if you think about it and this is what they don’t catch is that they’re really trusting in their works to save them because what I usually do is draw that on paper.
I say, look, here you are here a new little stick figure and I’ll call this point A where you are right now. and then I’ll put a point B over to the right someplace and say that’s when you die. Now let’s kind of draw this whole thing out. I’m going to draw a line that’s kind of going on its upward way all the way over to point B and that is the picture you continuing to grow as a Christian, living the Christian life and then you die would you say that you would go to heaven if that were true.
And they usually say yes. And then I said now let’s draw another line. Let’s say that you get off and you’re starting to dig well and that line is going up and all of a sudden it goes down below to the bottom there where you may be backslides or depart away from the Lord and you die at point B. What would happen then? They say, oh, I’d go to hell. And I said, well, think about this because what you’re saying is between point A and point B, what you do or do not do determines your salvation.
That makes you the Savior. You’re trusting in works and therefore you’re not saved at all. And so the scary part is that they may not be saved at all. Honestly, it really scares me to think that there are people out there. I just said that I took my daughter to the park and I spoke with this woman because we’re looking for a church and I asked her what the doctrine of the church was and I said, you believe you know you’re safe and once you say that’s it.
And she said, well we believe that but we also believe that you have to do your work or you won’t get in. It’s just like that doesn’t make sense to me. Nope. It totally confused me. I’m like, how can you be a Bible based church if that’s what you’re preaching? And then it really upsets me because I’m thinking, all these people think that they’re saved and they’re not. And then I have people that I know that are later on in life that are in their 60s and 70s.
And this is what they believe in thinking to myself, what am I going to do? What do I do? You just have to point out, you know, and I’ve drawn that out for people when they see it on paper. They’re like, oh, I just see them suck in their breath and they realize, whoa, I am trusting in my work. So just don’t comprehend their trusting in their works because they just don’t see themselves in that light. But when you draw it on paper and say, look, you tell me what you believe.
Let’s just draw this out. And if he’s telling me that in my future, that if I backslide or don’t continue and I die, I go to hell, that means my salvation was dependent upon my works. And if that’s what you’re trusting in or believing, then you’re not saved at all. And you won’t go to heaven. Right. Okay, and then I have just another quick question. On the other hand, you know, a lot of people with, they believe, you know, the ones you’re saved, you’re always saved when you’re a new Christian, when you’re a baby Christian, for somebody to tell you that all you have to do is be saved and that’s it.
You don’t have to do anything else. I have a really hard time with that also because I feel like the whole Bible is there. It’s kind of like our guidebook to how we should live our lives. And for people to think that so early on, you know, we’re just going to be able to do that. on in their christmas i think that the big stumbling block well it might sound that way and and and since he’s that term stumbling block because that is what the bible says that it is to those that are lost they don’t even trust christ because they say that’s too simple or it’s a stumbling block and that they can’t comprehend that it would be that easy or that uh…
the greatest salvation that i would just offer to you but i find the opposite is true I know for myself because I have been raising a church just like we’re talking about here that you can lose your salvation. The night I got saved, I really had been turned off by my church and I don’t usually tell this but that night I told God in my prayer, I said, God I’ll take you up on your free gift to eternal life but I will never serve you.
Well I was a secret believer for a whole year but God brought me to my knees over that coming God follows up those that are His. Once you become saved, He doesn’t allow you to just do whatever you please. I remember the Lord working on me and nobody even knew I was a believer, but I knew I was. I knew I was saved. God worked on me and I dedicated my life in my dorm room at the University of Florida all by myself.
Nobody had followed me up. Nobody had talked to me. Nobody was there encouraged me to do anything, but I I realized that wow, God was working in my life and I realized I needed to get going for him and I said Lord I’ll serve you. I’ll tell those about you and I made a decision to dedicate my life and I’ve been going ever since that day. Yeah, I mean I’m so amazed that God’s grace every day because he’s worked wonders in my life.
And also it’s just my last question I don’t want to keep you on here forever but how important to you so it is to actually part of a church because I’m having a very difficult time finding a church that believes that you know what you believe is very difficult. You have to really go on the hunt and I hear this all the time but obviously Hebrews 10 25 says we ought to fellowship with other believers and that’s an important part of our Christian life and it says don’t forsake the assembling of yourselves as the manner of some is, but as we approach the Lord’s return more and more, we need to get with other believers that will lift us up and encourage us and move us forward.
And you need to just keep searching. I’m sure that somewhere God has somebody up there that’s giving it out right. Well, I certainly have said, I really appreciate your time this morning. Thank you. You’re very welcome. And we have a number of people in the interim that are actually by internet, worshiping with not joining our morning worship and you might want to try that also. Alright we have Harold my Jewish atheist friend excuse me he’s in Hollywood Florida and Harold welcome to Bibleline and happy Thanksgiving.
Thank you my pastor this is great and it should be health wealth and love to you. Well thank you I’m one of the few pastors that has a Jewish atheist as a member of my flock. I’m proud to say so and everybody that as my friends all my Christian friends They know and they would like to meet you and hear you and it’s just too bad that you know You’re not on the radio. Well, guess what Harold. You haven’t heard it yet, but Monday the 26th of November I’m going to be on the air in Miami on WMCU 1080 on the dial every day I’ll put I put it right down there ten eighty ten eighty w m c u on monday morning beginning will be at ten o’clock live down there in south for that a m or f at a m radio got it
and i think that that would be great yeah yeah okay but there’s no much to discuss i was thinking of you for the past two weeks up but i have to say this back so i can be so i can listen to your response but the good news is that that do you know that congress is investigating the receiving broadcasting network did you hear that i knew it was a bunch of new investment but i didn’t know that they were involved that you thought about t b n yet it’s even broadcasting network that’s t b n and i have spoken with you a year ago and said that i know what okay now what they’re going to do and i made the notes here for you they’re going to septina They’re going to subpoena people like, you know who’s on there.
So they’re going to get them all. Oh, it’s amazing. And say I want you to know that one of the congressmen always has said that he was not Jewish. He was a Christian. So we have some good things about that. Secondly, I got to talk fast because they saw him. They had the interviews of some of these people that they were speaking that might be in subpoenaed. One in them. And I put that in the middle of the day.
this remark now Joyce Myers. You heard of her? Absolutely and her doctrine is very unsound as well as the other practices I think. Well, so the reporter asked Joyce Myers about all this money and helped with his or answer. Jesus wants us to have luxury. That for response, Jesus wants us to have luxury. Now that was great. I mean that’s a great answer for the values that I know Jesus toward basic Judaism. I don’t think that was one of the values.
And then here’s another one that Jesus aches through whole crowds to finance all the satellites that he’s putting all over the world. places like low is the bow beer and translevania in shangrall are so those those were the things that they were responding to the reporters so i like to speak to you this morning about jesus values i think that jesus the values of jesus was the poor the sick and the homeless and my correctest dating that i believe you absolutely are if you read matthew tenner certainly uh…
that’s it seems to be the theme of the message he sent us the cycles out with okay now i go along with that now i never voted out to you have never voted this has affected me and many others and then there’s an election going on now and every time you hear the debate so forth religion is brought up so the fact that a matter is and here it is there is no way anybody accepts the values of jesus christ can vote with republican no way and the answer to that is because republicans are not for the poor the sick or the homeless and they state that in other words the democratsdL they have a program to pull will get help the sick would get help the homeless would get help now all along the line if you vote republican you’re taking the values away that
Jesus, I guess, said. And that’s an important point to me, because that affects me, and it affects me years of others. Well, it’s amazing how the voting has become very religious. Yesterday in our paper, the Roman Catholic Church, the Pope said, that the priest and so on are the instructor congregations that if they vote for somebody for example who believes in abortion that that could affect their salvation. Their eternal salvation might be in jeopardy if they vote wrong in the poly booth and of course they don’t pay a how to vote or you know any names but they say if they don’t vote in line with the Bible issues on abortion this and the other that that they could lose their own salvation in the process so that’s pretty heavy duty is not crazy to stop there i heard that one too now i want to i want to tell you to be people that are going to that are going
to save the values that jesus presents one of them is Dr. Lindstrom and the other is joe o spain who was on the major channels in the past month three times and they interviewed him and asked him all these questions do you know that he he has an audience of 42,000 people in the arena. And they’re made up of everything, including atheists. And the reason that it’s done, and it was on the Larry King that interviewed and they had some straight questions, because there’s no threats involved.
In other words, he doesn’t say, I want you to turn to the Bible and Bursen and so forth. He doesn’t do that. he speaks as a human thing that really gives the message out to a guy like me or others and by the way there were ideas there they interview them after and he’s number one as far as the uh… the number one popularity on the tv and dr hank on the radio so i wish you would be on Well, we’ve been on down there with you.
As far as Joel, he obviously doesn’t discriminate, but he makes everybody feel comfortable, but I don’t believe he’s telling plainly what a person must do to be saying, which I wish he would. And I pray that those people coming to his meetings would find the true gospel message of salvation to faith in Christ. But He generally skirts that part, which I think is the most important part that I focus on. The other, the other, of St. Louis TVN is nothing and you have to explain to me what is seeds and hobbies.
What does that mean? Well for them it means you give your money and you’ll be rich. This is the health wealth prosperity movement which is basically not, not biblical. I mean, they tell you that you should be healthy and wealthy and to be rich or to have luxury is what God wants, just like George Meyer says. And they believe that. They really do believe that. And they believe that those that are at the top of the food chain ought to be the wealthiest.
And that’s a, they believe is a witness to how all their congregations should be. But that, they’ve reversed it. The Bible tells us here in this world that we’re going to have pain and suffering and trouble and not everything is going to be PG creamy, but they promise wealth for everybody. They promise health for everybody and it’s not scriptural. They really twist the verses around. When the Bible talks about Christ, who is rich, becoming poor for us, that we through His poverty might be rich.
They take that to mean that we’re now to be rich here materially, but it’s not talking about material, which is talking about the fact that we’ve become forgiven. We’ve become a child of God. We have a home in heaven. We have God as a heavenly Father, and all of those things were accomplished by Christ’s leading heaven and giving up His riches to become a human being like the rest of us and go to the cross as a sinless human being and got at the same time to pay our sin debt at the cross of Calvary.
Okay, now, but the values of Jesus, as I understand it, and by the way, I’ve been practicing that for a long time. You know, it’s nothing new to me to do that, but the poor, the sick, and the homeless should be taken care of. Do you agree to that? Absolutely. Now, on the other hand, when you look at, and I listen to these debates, they bring out the highlights, and the Democrats are, here’s another thing, therefore a stem cell research would, which would, of course, be good for the people with the, the muscular dystrophy and all of that.
Of course, the government, the Dems would do that. The Republicans on the flip side, there’s no way we will give any kind of funding to that. So this is why I’m going to vote, I’m going to vote Democratic because I’m following the values of Jesus Christ and nobody can debate me on that. I mean, am I not? Well, I really don’t know that either party is going to really accomplish what needs to be done. I think that, you know, this is the way they get their votes rather than actually what they really carry out.
And I think today our middle class has been destroyed and we have just the rich and the poor. And I don’t think it’s necessarily just one party that’s creating that right now that Democrats have control and they haven’t been able to pass anything in Congress and it’s been really an embarrassment. I would think to them they only have 11, I think, percent approval rate. But it’s scary. And I think the point is that Christ is the only one that’s going to rescue this world.
And I believe He’s coming as soon. And our hope is in the Lord, not in men. And when we put our trusted men, we will see them fail every time. Psalm 118, 8 says that we need to put our trust in the Lord, that if we trust in men, they will truly always fail us and disappoint us. And I’m afraid I’ve never seen the likes of what we have in the way of candidates today. We don’t have any that really stand out as great leaders like we might be able to compare to in the past.
And it’s kind of scary that our country is facing that kind of a situation. Harold, thank you so much.
