We look forward to being with you each and every day, Monday through Friday as we come to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church.

We’re on the pastor. This is Friday. We’ve had a great week. I hope you’ve enjoyed the week and I hope you enjoy today. If you’re in the Tampa Bay area, you can hear our program Saturday and Sunday. We’re on seven days a week here in the Tampa Bay area at 10 o’clock in the morning. Welcome to all of the rest of you listening from wherever you might be and we’re excited about Miami, this thing on 1080 on the AM now and that’s WMCU.

We are going to shortly into the week here, begin getting the whole hour and for Miami we’re excited about that and we hope that you down in Miami won’t help us because we’re really stepping out on faith to do that second half hour and we need some real help down there to make sure we can pay for that and keep that on the air. So we’ll be going a full hour and I think that’ll start in another week so be listening and enjoying and if you could give a gift to Bibleline to help us pay for that that would be great.

Just call and ask for someone to help you give a gift to Bible Line you could do about credit card over the phone or you can get an envelope to sent to you with our dress on it. You could mail that gift on in. By the way, we’re coming up on our summer camp for teens, June 23 through 28, and we still have a few openings if you have a teen, and you want them to get into the sound of God’s word for a whole week in a beautiful environment which will take them away from their friends and their music, and their television, and get them into God’s word for a week.

It is life transforming, and I hope you’ll give us a call about that. We’ll give you the information the information and get you the information to sign up your team to go to that week of camp down in the heart of the state of Florida. That’s June 23 through 28. We also of course want you to know that our resource center is available online as well as you can come by every day and visit us. We’re open to about 4.30 and come and take a look at what we’ve got.

We’ve got the old Scofield Bible which is the one you’ll not find out in there in the Bookstore and we’ve got the old Scofield also in Spanish, which is really nice. We’ve got one edition which has Spanish on one side of the page and English on the other. It’s really two Bibles in one and English Scofield and Spanish Scofield all in one Bible. We have two great books on theology. One is called the Mitty Handbook of Theology by Thomas Innes and then we have the basic theology by Charles Ryrie.

Both of these are wonderful additions to your library if you’re going to do some serious Bible study. We have the Jameson Foset Brown commentary. Wonderful five volume set gives you something on every chapter of the Bible. It’s the entire five year through the Bible series on, and retells for 200, we have it for a special, about $100. So for $100 you can have the James, rather Jay Verde McGee series. We have the other one that’s my favorite that covers something on every verse of the Bible, the three volumes set called the Jameson Faucet Brown series.

We’re going to go to the phone lines after we covered the Bible for a few minutes. So if you want to write that number down, it’s 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call. I want to talk a little today about water baptism. Water baptism is one of two ordinances that the Lord has given and neither one of them Save. The one baptism, rather the Lord’s Supper is one that the believers observe continuously throughout their Christian life as a remembrance of Christ’s death and what a price he paid is broken body and shed blood represented by the elements.

But then we also have water baptism which is to occur once as a testimony of the fact that you’ve been cleansed of your sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. will never take away sin and you could be anchored out in the Atlantic Ocean for years and still would remove your sin. In fact, Jeremiah is almost humorous. It tells us how that you can even use strong soap and it will not remove your sin. It would still be marked before the Lord according to the Prophet Jeremiah.

So what does it say? But water is symbolic. And here in 1 Corinthians chapter 1 Paul differentiates between the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper and the preaching of the gospel which is what saves. In verse 17 of 1 Corinthians chapter 1 it says, for Christ sent me not to baptize, that sounds kind of a surprising statement isn’t it? Christ sent me not to baptize but He sent me to preach the gospel. It tells us that water baptism is not a part of the gospel message, the saving message of the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ.

It’s not in the same ballgame. And so the ordinances of the church are on a lesser level than that of the gospel. The Great Commission and what Paul was given to do was to preach the gospel. Let me read it again. Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel. So he was to preach the gospel, and if water baptism were essential for salvation, it would then be a part of the gospel, and Paul could never have said this.

But he says here, Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel. The reason why is because of the contention that arose over who baptized whom in Corinth. And we find here that some said, well, Paul baptized me and others said, well, Peter baptized me or others said, Paulist baptized me. And so Paul says this remarkable statement. Think about it with me, please. 1 Corinthians 1, 14. Paul says, I thank God that I baptized none of you.

Whoa, what a statement. I thank God that I baptized none of you. Now think about it, if water baptism were necessary for salvation, Paul is saying, I thank God you’re all going to hell. He could never have said that. And so what he’s saying here is that because of the division that arose over who baptized who, he was glad that he was kind of out of the mix. He only baptized a couple of families. Apparently he says here, I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Christmas and gayest and less than you should say that I baptized in my own name.

That was what was happening at Corinth and obviously this caused division. So we find here that he tells us that water baptism really has nothing to do with salvation or he could not have made that statement. He says, I thank God that I baptized none of you. Does he say here I’m glad none of you are saved? I’m glad you’re going to hell? No! He’s simply saying that he was glad he was not a part of the division that occurred there, over water baptism, and then he tells us that baptism is not in the same grouping or level of importance as that of the gospel.

Christ sent me not to baptize but to preach the gospel. And then it says, but, and it says not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. It’s interesting that you can change up the message a little bit and all of a sudden it’s no longer the saving message of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection and a person will have the cross of Christ count nothing. That’s scary and that’s what I’m pleading for is for souls.

I met a young man and he believed that he had to be water baptized to be saved. I said, you’re not saved. He said, yes, I am. I said, no, you’re not. He said, yes, I am. I said, no, you’re not. I said you’re not safe because you’re trusting in a human work to save you in addition to what Christ did and he said no I’m not and I said yes you are and he said no I’m not and I said you are yes you are.

I pointed out that Jesus said that baptism was a work that he was going to fulfill the Old Testament type. Alright. According to Matthew chapter 3 verse 15 when he was baptized by getting water baptized. That certainly Christ didn’t need to be water-baptized. And we find that in Titus 3.5 it says not by works of righteousness which we have done, which water baptism is a work of righteousness, not by works of righteousness which we have done Titus 3.5, but by his mercy he saved us.

And then it talks about a washing, but it’s the washing of the new birth. But by the washing of regeneration, being born again, being regenerated, the new birth that occurs when you trust Christ, that’s how you’re cleansed of your sin. Well in any case, we discussed this for a period of time. And finally this young man saw the point and he said, you know, I see the point and I realize that water baptism will not save me because we covered the many verses that talk about that.

And certainly God’s illustration, the dying thief, never had a chance to be baptized. And those who argue for baptism say, well, he was under the Old Testament economy. That’s not true. Jesus died first on the cross and then the dying thieves died later. So they died after Christ and so that means that they died on the New Testament side of the line. But again, they weren’t saved by water baptism. The dying thief simply trusted Christ and Jesus said, today thou shall be with me in paradise.

Anyway, this young man got saved and he had been mistaught. He was attending a Bible college that taught that water baptism was essential for salvation. And you know what he told me? Here’s what he said. He says, you’re the first person who has ever warned me or told me that I was in danger of going to hell because I was trusting in my water baptism. Let me say that again. He said, you’re the first person who has ever told me or warned me that I was in danger of going to hell because I was trusting in water baptism plus Jesus Christ.

And you know, most people never think anything about it. And this young man thought that he was more secure, more saved, because he was adding these additional things to faith in Christ. The Bible says we’re saved by faith in Christ, by grace, and it is none of ourselves, it is not of works. And it is always salvation in the Bible in the absence of any human merit or work that we’re saved. As soon as you add water baptism or church membership or penance or mass, my friend, you’re not going to be saved because you’re trusting in Christ plus and The Bible says it is Christ without the law Christ without works.

It is Christ alone That saves you Well, you know that Christmas During the vacation he came home from college. I got a knock on my door and guess what? He had six other guys with him. He talked these guys into coming home on the Christmas break to stay with him so that I could tell him how to go to heaven. He said, I brought all these guys, so you could tell them why they were not saved because they were trusting a water baptism.

They were going to a Bible college that had it wrong. And they were all being mistaught that they had to be water baptized to be saved. Well, we sat down and over the holiday we were able to lead all those six guys to Christ, recognizing that their water baptism would not save them, and that if they were trusting in Jesus plus anything, they would be lost. Because it’s not Jesus plus anything, it’s Jesus alone that saves. Christ said, I am the way.

He didn’t say I am water baptism is the way, or I am penance is the way, or I am the masses the way, I am the truth in the life and no man cometh unto the Father but by me, not by being baptism, not by being me in church membership, but not by me in good works or living the Christian life, but by Christ alone. I am pleading for souls because Paul made that point clear that Jesus, 1 Corinthians 1 17, sent me not to baptize, but be sent me to preach the gospel.

Now Paul did baptize people, but he said baptism is not on the same level as the gospel, and it’s the gospel that I’ve been sent to preach, and those who believe the gospel become same. Romans 1 16 says I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that So, if you add baptism to the gospel, you no longer have the gospel. If you add church membership to the gospel, you no longer have the gospel.

And if you add anything to the gospel, you no longer have the gospel. The gospel is the message of the death, the burial, and resurrection. And Jesus made that very clear. And Paul says that very clearly, Jesus sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel. Now, I baptize people all the time. by immersion. I just baptized twelve in the Jordan River. I just baptized fourteen people just a couple of weeks ago by immersion. And you know, we do it all the time.

It’s a routine thing that we baptized people. charset, but never to get them saved, but as a testimony of the fact that they have been saved by trusting in what Christ did for them at the cross, and they were washed of their sin, not by water, but by the blood of Christ, and the The water is merely ceremonial. I certainly teach water baptism, but on a lesser level than salvation. Salvation is by believing the gospel, and Paul makes it very clear that water baptism in the gospel are not a mix together but are separate.

As he said in 1 Corinthians 1, 17, Christ sent me not to baptize, but he sent me to preach the gospel. And it’s the gospel that says, If you are trusting in Jesus Christ, plus anything to go to heaven, you are not saved. If you are trusting in Jesus Christ, plus baptism or anything else to be saved, you are not saved. Wow! And I am pleading for your soul because one day it will be too late. You need to check it out in the Bible for yourself.

Water cannot save you. I am Dr. Englunds, and we are going to go to the phone lines and take your call. If you have a question, call on in and we’ll try to take that question. 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Alright, I’m going to take it off to your question. First year, Mary from Richmond, Virginia says, Will all my past sins be brought up on Judgment Day? Please give scripture references for your answer. Well, 2 Corinthians 5 and 10 comes to mind where it says we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

And it implies here that everything that you’ve done, since you have been saved, Mary, will be brought up and judged. And of course, this judgment is to determine the degree of reward or loss of reward that you and I will receive when we stand before the Lord. is going to judge us based upon our deeds what we have done since we have been saved. Now I am going to turn to the verse so I can quote it correctly for you.

It is 2 Corinthians 5-10 and it says we must all appear. This is believers and Paul includes himself in that we. We must all appear 2 Corinthians 5-10 before the judgment seat of Christ. That is the judgment of believers for reward that will occur at the event of the rapture. that everyone may receive the things done in his body according to that he have done whether it be good or bad. So I think there you have it. Whether it’s good or there’s bad it’s all going to come up and you’re going to have everything laid out and you’ll be judged accordingly and receive a reward or loss of reward based upon your deeds Mary.

Second Corinthians 5-10 check it out for yourself. We’re going to go now to Fort Lauderdale and we have Anthony on the line and Anthony welcome to my one. Hello, how are you doing? Good. I’m excited about being down there for the full hour in another week or so. That would be awesome. It’ll be great. Alright, what is your question? I just got a quick question and I’ll hang up. Can you expect me to join three, five, which is not born of water and of spirits and you I sure can.

Anthony is talking about the flesh birth. When you’re in your mother’s womb, you’re in a sack of water and you often hear the expression the water sack broke. When your water sack breaks as a woman, you’re about ready to have that baby. You should be heading to the hospital and certainly the baby is going to come along real shortly. Well, that’s what’s in the context. If you read the verse before John the baby is going to come along shortly.

That’s what’s in the context. If you read the verse before, John here records it for us, but Nicodemus misunderstood and he thought about another physical birth when Christ told him he had to be born again. He said, can a man, when he’s old, go back into his mother’s womb the second time and come out again and be born? He was thinking about that natural birth to go back into the womb. The water birth is connected to the womb. Verse 6 on the other side of verse 5 also demands that interpretation where Christ says that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.

So the flesh birth is the water birth and everybody has that including Nicodemus before he comes to Christ But Christ said marvel not birth seven that you I said into the you must be born again So he already had the first birth the water birth But he hadn’t gotten the second birth which was the spirit birth that occurs when you trust Jesus as your Savior It’s not talking about water baptism is talking about the flesh birth the water birth that occurs when you come into this world.

That sounds very clear about things from it. Well good, and I tell you, a lot of people wrestle with that passage, and a lot of churches teach that it’s talking about water baptism, and I wonder, don’t they know the difference between a birth and a baptism? Exactly. If your wife was ready to deliver, would you take her to the church or take her to the hospital? I think it’s pretty clear. Thank you, Anthony. Thank you very much. Okay, Anthony down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

You’re welcome to call it 1-800-576-3771. We just got the go ahead. We got the word that Turk 7, the project, to put Bibleline television on satellite over the country of Turkey has been approved. And so we’re now moving forward to see that take place. They’re going to translate my television programs into Turkish and put them up on the satellite. We have been waiting for word from those people over in Turkey that are in charge of this project and they gave us a green light just as of Tuesday of this week.

So we’re excited about a dopant door that God has given to us and that’s free. That’s the thing I like about that. And a lot of the things that we do are costing us and we have to trust that God will supply through you, our listeners, as you give to help my blind stay on the air. But we’re very excited about that. And we’re excited about how God is opening doors and through the internet we’re really worldwide as people are emailing us from all over the world, India, Africa, Australia, the Far East, the Singapore, all over the Far East.

And we’re excited about what God is doing. We’re going to go to the phone lines again and we have, well let me go ahead and take another uh… uh… offer question here rich in serocet calls in this is catholicism ask process that process all into themselves to consider development of doctrine what do they mean by this term well obviously they’re trying to explain away the fact that they can’t do doctors change all the time you know about forty years ago if you hate meet on friday that was a mortal sin and you go to hell.

Now they’ve changed the doctrine and it’s no longer a mortal sin. So don’t you feel sorry for those that lived prior to their changing of the rule? Those people went to hell for eating meat on Friday. Today if you eat meat on Friday you won’t go to hell. Also they just recently, they’ve just recently got rid of limbo, a place supposedly where children infants would go. No such thing in the Bible that the Catholic Church taught it for years but now what happens to all those kids who went to limbo according to their doctrine where are they I guess they’re left in limbo I mean craziness constantly the traffic Catholic Church is a communion church and changes and it changes by the way also from country to country it’s not the same in every country that you visit Roman Catholicism adapts itself to the beliefs

in the wishes of the people. I know missionaries tell me that down in South American Central America they actually offer chickens and live sacrifices in the church. The Catholic Church allows that. As long as they’re faithful to the church in the Mary, it doesn’t seem to matter. We’re going to Harold and Pam, before I Harold, welcome to my blind, you’re on the air. Yes, hello, and how are you today? Wonderful, thank you. Oh, good, good. Please I appreciate your help.

I need some clarification please on the rewards. And if you could please let me go back to the beginning. Jesus wanted us to as many as possible. Amen. Hold on one second. Let me say goodbye to Miami. You sign off early but we’re excited about being on the air down there for the full hour beginning in another week or so. So God bless you all in Miami. I’ll see you Monday or on the internet all over the weekend. Alright, go ahead Harold.

Yes, thank you. The great commission is to spread the… I believe that means the eternal salvation. I agree. And out there winning souls can tell them that it’s yet then we are now… I’m a little confused about the idea of rewards. Well, there are rewards for lots of different things we can do. One of them is for evangelism. There is the crown of rejoicing in 1 Thessalonians 2 19 in twenty that is for leading a soul to Christ, you’ll get a crown for that called the crown of rejoicing.

But there’s also the martyr or the sufferers crown, James 1 12 and Revelation 2 10, if you suffer for Christ or are martyred for Christ, you’ll get the crown of life which refers to the ones who are suffering for Christ. And if you are faithful in teaching the word of God. First Peter chapter 5 verse 4 talks about a crown of glory to those who teach the word of God, those who keep their bodies disciplined and are focused on living for Christ will get the crown un-corruptible 1 Corinthians 9, 27, and then there’s a crown for watching for Christ’s return.

Second Timothy 4, 8 says the crown of righteousness is given to those who love his appearing and watch for Christ’s return. So there’s a bunch of good rewards there. I’ve got to go break and we’ll finish up this discussion after the break. Don’t go away. Keep your radio tuned right where it is. We’ll be right back after a short break into the second half hour of Bible and I’m Dr. Anglin Strimm. Don’t go away. I’ll be right back. Don’t go away.

And if not, the website will take you to our Resource Center. The website will take you to our Radio, our Television, and our Church Services. The website will take you to the articles that I’ve written. The website will take you to questions that I’ve answered. The website will take you to the Bible, which can be read to you while you’re watching… The first is on the screen and you can choose any portion of Scripture you’d like to have read to you and and it’ll read it to you right on our website.

Try all these things out. We’ve got some great things out there and we look forward, of course, to be with you everyday live and hope you’ll tell your friends about it and tell your friends overseas missionaries and family, maybe those in the military. Let them know about how they can get Bibleline anywhere in the world. We’re going to return to the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour of Bibleline. And so I want you to stay tuned right where you are and we’re gonna come right on back and do the second half hour Right now, so don’t go away.

I’ll be right back Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question you can just pick up your phone and dial 1 800 576 3 771 that’s 1 800 576 3771 Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Right, we’re back from that break and this is Bible and I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church in Tampa. We’re on the pastor. So good to be able to be with you every day and we have lots of funoresting.

Getting to meet you and talk to you and sometimes we get to see you coming by. We have people coming by all the time and we met some wonderful folks yesterday that came by and said hello. I love to geturban to get to meet those that come by and you’re welcome to come by on a weekend this Sunday and the next Sunday We’re having a dinner. That’s right. This Sunday. It’ll be a special homemade Italian dinner And it’s going to be a fundraiser So if you come you just leave a donation for the meal come at 10 30 and then stay for the dinner and leave a donation That’ll help pay for Teens that don’t have enough money to go to our summer camp by the way if you have a teen We still have some openings for our summer camp June 23 through 28 in the middle of the

state of Florida. A beautiful lake with the hillside, scattered about with the air conditioned cabins in the meeting hall and the dining room overlooking the lake. It’s a beautiful place and I’ll be down there at least Dhabi for one day and we’ll have a great time with your teens, and hopefully they’ll get a lot of Bible and get a lot of answers and they’ll come back different I guarantee you. So if you’re interested, call us. We’ll be glad to give you the information about the summer camp.

And again, we are so glad to be able to be with you every day and that’s because you, the listeners, have supported us in giving to the Bible and ministry that allow us to be on the air. We are totally listeners supported. If you could pray for us, we We would thank God for you. And if you can also give a gift, this is a great time to give. We need your help right now. We’re trying to not only stay on everywhere we are, but we’ve accepted this open door in Miami to be on for a second half hour.

And that’s exciting, but we have made that decision without having the money to go on with it. So we’re trusting that God will supply so that we can reach that large area of people down in South Florida. I have a particular affinity because I was born and raised in Miami and I would love to see the people in South Florida get saved. If we could be a part of that, it would thrill my soul and I hope that you’ll pray with us as we attempt to do those things.

We are going to be talking about the Bible and taking your call. You can call us at 1-800-576-3771. We were just talking with Harold a moment ago about rewards and there are at least five crowns. Harold, if you want to call back and ask for my article I’ve written, Getting Your Crown. I list the five crowns and describe them and give you the passages of scripture. But you can also sit on my website if you go to BibleLineMinistries.org on the right hand bottom corner.

says Dr. Lynch, there’s articles go there and then go on the search engine, getting your crowns or just put the word crown in and you’ll come up with that article and you can read it on your computer or print it out and you’ll have it instantly. So give that a try. We now have Paul in Seminole, Florida and Paul, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Yes. I have a question. I’m first collashions 114. 14 in whom have attempted to read blood that begins to sin.

In the notes that here, the blood is emitted in the likely week, tax levels, 26th edition of the Nestle Island Greek. Now is that a good factor, what do that, that, that, uh, retirement Greek? No, I think that the blood has to be there. You know, it’s amazing, these new translations are trying. The Bible is a book of the blood. You begin with the book of Genesis. You have Abel bringing a lamb. The blood is there in that publishers are getting rid of the hymns about the blood.

And it’s an attack on the Bible from Satan. I believe it belongs there, should be there. And clearly the Bible is a book of the blood. You begin with the book of Genesis. You have Abel bringing a lamb. The blood is there in that… in that picture and it begins there and it goes all the way to the book of revelation and winds up with Christ being the one who washed us from our sins in his own blood. Certainly I think this is a satanic attack.

Thank you Paul for that question. We’re now going to go to Clarabelle in Miramar, Florida, that’s South Florida and Clarabelle welcome to my friend. Hi there you’re on the air. Hi I just had a question. I just wanted to know if speaking in tongues was the only evidence showing that you have the whole spirit. Well, guess what? The speaking in tongues doesn’t occur anymore. What people are doing today is not tongues. The word tongue means language. And the other word used in Acts chapter two is dialectos, meaning a specific dialect of a specific language.

The gibberish that people are doing today that is claiming to be tongues is a gibberish, not a known language, and is done by all the world religions. So it’s not unique to Christianity. Why does God give it to the Buddhist? Why does he give it to Islam? Why does he give it to the Mormons, the cults? They all do the same gibberish and it’s not Christian at all. But the real evidences of the Holy Spirit in your life are seen in Ephesians 5.

It talks there about you loving one another, submitting yourself to those that are in authority above you, that you would love your children, that you would sing melodies to the Lord in your heart. These are all evidences of the Holy Spirit being in you and controlling you. I would look to Ephesians 5. The tongues was only a very temporary gift and has ceased. What people are doing today is not a biblical experience. They might enjoy it. They might be a lot of people doing it.

But you can’t show me in the Bible that what they’re doing is the biblical gift of tongues, which was a known language that would be easily understood by the hearer and would be used to win the laws to Christ. It says that 1 Corinthians 14, 9, except you speak by the tongue, where it’s easy to be understood, how shall we be known what is spoken? You just speak into the air, you’re just wasting your breath. Verse 22 says, tongues are for a sign, not to those that believe, but to those that believe not.

So it should be used with the laws. So if you have it, you ought to go out into the mall and start talking to people, and you’ll have revival. But I’m afraid nobody wants to take the gibberish into the mall because people think you’re crazy and they’ll want to lock you up. So the genuine gift is gone. I also have another question. So I’m going to say the first time you go to church and you feel like you have the presence of God in you, is that the moment that God enters your body and when you truly accept them with your heart or is it just because you get baptized and you say that you speak in time.

Well the answer is, when you use the word feeling, you’re getting yourself in trouble. The word feel is used five times in the New Testament, always in a negative way. God does not want us to rely upon our feelings at all, and we have something far better, we have His Word. And the key is when you TRUST, trust that Christ died for you and shed his blood that He is the only means of your salvation. God saves you and you can know that you are saved not by a feeling but because God said it.

If he said it and you believe it, that settles it. You don’t need a feeling. If I went by my feeling some days I might feel saved, other days I might not feel saved. I might feel sick. And I will say, oh my goodness, I feel terrible, I guess I am lost. You don’t go by your feelings. You go by the Word of God which will never change. the word of God, the Bible says, liveth and abighteth forever. So every day you can get up no matter how bad you feel or how good you feel, you can know you’re saved because God said so if you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior.

And if you’re looking for signs and wonders and gifts and miracles, you’re heading in the wrong direction because we’re really to believe His Word. That’s where our assurance comes from. I’d like to give you 1 John 513. I hope you write it down. 1 John 513 says, these things have I written. Written unto you, I believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know KNOW, not hope or guess or perhaps or maybe, but you may know that you have HAVE, a present tense verb you could know you have eternal life.

So I hope that you will check that out. First John 513. Okay, thank you so much. You’re welcome, sir. and looking for feeling is going the wrong direction. God never tells us in the Bible anywhere to look for a feeling. We’re to listen to what He says in His Word and believe it and then we can know and be assured that God is going to be telling us the truth that we’ll not lie about it or trick us. We’re going to go to Deanna and she is in Dover, Florida and Deanna welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air hello Deanna Deanna are you there I hear you’re radio in the background Deanna are you there you’re on the line hello hi you’re on the air hello if you listen to your radio it’s 20 seconds delayed so you could get really something wrong with my phone well

I’m sorry okay well I’ll call back I’m sorry all right I hear but I hear clearly I hear the radio in the background but I couldn’t get the answer. She’ll call back. Helen in the Needon, Florida. Helen, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi. I would like to know about the goat. Did, in the Old Testament, I know they sacrificed them. But did they eat the goat also? And when did they do away with that? Well, I don’t think they did it away with it until the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed in 8070.

Up until that time they followed all the Old Testament laws and rules and they offered up the lamb and also the goat. And yes, I believe they, when they roasted them on the fire there, then they also ate of the fice, so they didn’t throw it away. But they continued right up until 8070. Once the temple was destroyed, then there were no more sacrifices offered by Israel. And for the Jewish person, that’s a serious problem because according to Leviticus 111, the Bible says it’s the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.

But the answer, of course, is that Jesus, God’s lamb, has come, and he shed his blood, and he is the satisfying sacrifice. So what a person puts their trust in the blood of Jesus. God saves them. That’s why the blood is so important in the Bible and why the previous caller talked about Closhes 114 and is wondering why some of these translations are getting rid of the blood. It’s a direct attack, I believe, by Satan on the word of God to get rid of that blood from the Bible.

Hope that helps. Thank you. You’re very welcome. Thank you for calling in. We now have Deanna in Dover, Florida. Deanna, welcome back to the Bible and program. Can you hear me now? Boy, you sound way far away. I must be having a bad connection today. I hear you perfectly. But go ahead. Sorry, it might be my phone. Speak up because I could hear you and you could just listen on the radio. I can just hear you a wee little bit.

The question is about cremation. Could he give me any scriptures that would be against it? Because I was speaking to another lady. She said, he doesn’t. So if you’re a Christian, you should be cremated. And I wouldn’t want to do anything to send the Lord. You know what I mean? Absolutely. Yeah. We talked about it, but I don’t want to do it if the Bible begins to sit. So I would appreciate his opinion on that. OK. And Deanna, the answer is it doesn’t make a difference at all as far as your salvation.

There was a time when those who were cremated were making a statement they didn’t believe in life after death. But I don’t think that’s true today. I think most people because of the tremendous cost of having a traditional funeral, they are opting to go to cremation. But there are people in the Bible that have been cremated and yet they are, they were still saved. Obviously you have Saul and his sons were all cremated if you read in there of Samuel and yet we know that Saul went to heaven and his sons went to heaven because the prophet Samuel tells us that they were going to join him once they died the next day in battle against the Philistine.

So definitely it doesn’t really make a difference but I prefer myself to be buried. The Jews always buried as a testimonial of the fact that they believed in the resurrection. And so they were making a plain statement by being buried that they believed in the day when they would be resurrected from the dead. Joseph, in fact, down in Egypt, asked his family. To swear that when God delivered them out Of Egypt and brought them back to the Promised Land that they would carry his bones with him and they carried the bones of Joseph back to Israel.

And I’ve been to the burial place of where justice bones are buried up near checkham where Jacobs well is Jacob was his father and so they buried his bones back in Israel and the Jewish person always is what is interesting and if you’ve maybe were not aware of this but an in Jewish place. Many times they’ll put a little pillow under the head of the deceased that has soil from Israel so that they can say they’re really being buried on Israeli soil and kind of neat.

But if you’re a believer, you’re going to be resurrected whether you’ve been cremated or not. I hope that has helped you with this question. We now have Kevin in Margate, Florida, in South Florida. Kevin Ron, excuse me, welcome to Bible Life. Yes, I wanted to ask you about in-time profit. Most ministers are pastors claiming to be prophets. Are we pretty much done with the prophets in this area this night of day? Yes we are. know, they’re predicting the in time zoom call themselves a profit or a profit.

Right. I would I would steer away from people who do that. If you read 1 Corinthians 13 verses eight through 10, it tells us about three gifts that would cease when the New Testament record was completed. And that is the gift of knowledge, the gift of prophecy and the gift of times. All three have ceased, and so there are no New Testament prophets. The gift was rendered entirely unnecessary once the New Testament record was complete because now we can go to the Scriptures and see what God has prophesied about the future.

And most of this prophecy thing going on today in the churches that they call prophecy is really the same as fortune telling. It’s like the psychic hotline. It’s New Age and occult teachings creeping into the church. This is not for today. And if someone claims that they’re a prophet today, I think I would back away a little bit. That’s kind of scary. That is not for right now. It ceased at the end of the first century. There have been no prophets since.

The New Testament record was completed. Okay, okay. And in the tribulation period though, after the rapture, two Old Testament prophets are coming back to the earth. Moses and Elijah, according to the Bible, are coming back, if you read Balakai chapter four, verses five and sixth, the last two verses of the Old Testament, God says, I’m gonna send Elijah back before the great and dreadful day of the Lord. So after the rapture, during the tribulation period, Elijah’s coming back and Moses is coming back and they’ll preach for the first three and a half years of the tribulation period.

If you’d like to call in the numbers 1-800-576-3771. Love to have you come by if you’re in the area to visit with us this Sunday. Our worship service begins at 1030. We’re gonna have a gift, rather, excuse me, a dinner and you can give a gift for the youth to go to camp. If you wanna eat at that dinner, you just leave a donation and enjoy a homemade Italian meal. And then the following Sunday, We are regular Thursday and then again you’ll be able to send these in a row here and the second one you just come as be my guest and just eat away and you don’t have to do anything but be my guest.

But that’s the next few studies. We’re having a youth camp June 23 through 28 if you have a teenager. They’re going to have a wonderful time and I hope you will think about sending your team if you don’t have a place to send them this summer. They can have a doctorate sound teaching and be around a great Christian environment and they’re going to learn a lot and come home different. I believe you’ll really be glad if you send them to our youth camp.

We’re going to go to Martin in Orange City, Florida and Martin, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. I got a question. I just have a question. Can you explain something about what is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? Because a pastor was saying that when you attribute somebody speaking in tongues. I know you was explaining something about badges now, but let’s say somebody is trying to speak in tongues and that’s right I don’t understand what’s going on.

Well that is absolutely not true at all and Actually if you read mark chapter 3 It says that who is so I wish will blast him against the Holy Spirit. I’ve never forgiven us But as in danger of eternal damnation the answers verse 30 mark it down mark 3 30 mark Mark’s Gospel, chapter 3, verse 30 says, because, because, because, because, here’s the answer, because they said he, Christ, had an unclean spirit. So it’s written to say Christ was an imposter, Christ was a fraud, Christ was not the Savior, not the Son of God, not the Messiah, not the one who would be the Lamb of God that would not have paid for our sins.

And so to reject Christ is the unpardonable sin. Has nothing to do with tongues or what you might say about tongues. It is the rejection, it’s unbelief, it’s to die without Christ. And it can only be committed by an unsafe person and it says obviously they’re in danger of eternal damnation because they can change their mind before they die and still become saved. So hopefully that answers the question for you and he’s already hung up to answer to listen to that answer on the air.

We’re going to Matthew in Spring Hill Florida. Matthew, welcome to Bibleline your On The Air. Hey, Hank, I just want to hear your thoughts on laying on a hand because in Hebrew it says that you know It’s a elementary Principle or whatever Christianity, but I don’t really I don’t really like what I hear about it nowadays So just well here your thoughts on it absolutely got Taken on the context the laying on of hands was really a Meaning to designate by the hand if they were to elect deacons or elders in the church or to send out somebody to be a missionary or evangelized, they would lay hands on them and basically they would be a designation by the hand that this is the one that we are sending forth and this is the one that we have selected that we believe is eligible to be

a Deacon or Elder or Bishop and so on. And DL Moody really simplified things a lot. I like the old Moody and of course he’s gone to be with the Lord many years ago, but he said laying on his hands is really empty hands being laid on empty heads. And so if you put too much into it you’re really going astray. Moody simplified everything and he got through all the nonsense. So when we ordained elders or deacons in our church we lay hands on them and say this This is the one that has been examined and is meeting the scriptural requirements and has been elected by the congregation to serve in an office.

This is the one we’re talking about. This guy right here that we’re laying our hands on. We don’t impart any special blessing or powers, that person, by the laying on our hands. We’re simply designating by the hand. That’s all it really means. Thank you. Now we have John in Brandon, Florida. John, welcome to Bibleline You’re On Here. Pastor, I have a respected Bible teacher who we were talking about a certain part of the Bible on. It was about the angels that, not the angels, sorry, the demons that, I guess, are angels, angels that are demons that impregnated women to become giants.

I know that’s not true because you explained it after that, after that particular part in the Bible. Could you just explain it again on the air and let me know exactly where it’s at and if you have a CD on that particular subject Or if you already had a CD on that particular subject, I do have a lot of your CDs I’m trying to locate it. You could help me out on that. I’ll hang up and listen Okay, that’s that CD is in our series called the spirit world and It’s also in our series on Genesis that passage is in Genesis 6 verses 1 through 4 talks about the sons of God marrying the daughters of men.

There you have believers marrying unbelievers. It’s not angels as Hebrews 1-5 says that God never called an angel his son. And then they try to say that there were giants in the earth in those days and so on. And the giants were the result of these marriages between these angels and women. And of course if they read the passage carefully, Genesis 6-4 says that there were giants in the earth in those days. And also after that it talks about the marriages taking place.

So the marriages didn’t bring about the giants, the giants were there prior to the marriages. So some really sloppy Bible study out there by amazingly people that have credentials. You read commentaries, they’ll talk about it being angels when, and they talk about the giants being the result of the marriages. They’re not reading very carefully at all. There were giants and then is after that, the marriages took place. So they really get things all messed up. Butwcs God never called an angel his son.

Hebrews 1-5 and just that ends the story forever. These were believers, the sons of God, even as right now. You’re a son of God when you are born again. And these were marrying the daughters of men which are unbelievers and the gospel got lost. That world got corrupted and that was why the flood came. We’re right out of time.
