That’s exciting and it’s good to be with you today. Tonight, we have those classes. If you’re in driving distance, we’ll be teaching class five and six in our series, ten vital doctrines of the Bible. The Christian builds his Christian life on a foundation and that foundation is right doctrine. If you don’t have your doctrine right, then obviously nothing goes right in your Christian life because you don’t have the solid foundation of God’s Word. The Bible says in Jude verse 25, building yourselves up on your most holy faith.
We know faith comes by hearing, hearing by the Word of God. To build yourself up on your faith, it is to read the Word of God as faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. If If you don’t get into the Bible, if you don’t know the basic doctrines that establish your faith, then you cannot build your Christian life. This is vital. And you can order the CDs after we complete the course. It will also be available on DVD, which is audio and video.
And you can play that again and again and enjoy with others. You’ll see the class as it is taught on video as well as have the audio on CD. Please take advantage of that car resource center. They have lots of things including the Schofield Bible that we recommend which is the old Schofield Bible and that’s the one that has the notes that haven’t been tampered with. The newer Schofield Bibles, especially this latest hybrid, has new notes and notes that are not by Dr.
Schofield. that I would disagree with. They tampered with the text of the Bible and I’m just not real happy at all. But the old Schofield is a treasure and it’s getting harder and harder to find and most Christian bookstores don’t even carry it, but we carry it exclusively here at our Bibleline resource headquarters along with some wonderful dictionaries of the Bible, the psychopedias of the Bible, Bible commentaries, and things that I recommend that will greatly help you in your quest for knowledge from the Bible.
You know, the Bible is incredible and we’re going to talk about Hebrews 1 today verse 3 where it says here about Jesus, who being the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person. You know, Jesus Christ is God. A lot of people never hear that. I didn’t hear it in my church. For the first 18 years of my life, I was raised in a church where the gospel was not given. At least the correct gospel. I was always led to believe you had to work your way to heaven.
And obviously that was impossible and contrary to what the Bible teaches. And I was used to that. Here at the chorus about climbing Sunshine Mountain, I always thought we had to be working our way and climbing our way, gaining new heights every day on our way to heaven. Obviously the Bible says we cannot save ourselves, that there is nothing we can do in order to be able to earn our salvation that Christ did it all. Christ is God who obviously is fully capable of saving us, and that’s what the Bible says here.
It says here, this Jesus, who is the expressed or the exact image of God, has got to chose to reveal himself in human flesh here on the earth and the person of Jesus Christ, goes on to say in Hebrews chapter 1 verse 3 that upholding all things by the word of his power, everything in the universe is held together by Jesus Christ, that he holds the whole universe together. He is the blue, you might say. If he ever took his hand off the universe, it would disappear because Jesus is the one by his power.
He’s the most powerful man that ever lived. I remember as a little boy admiring Superman and he was such a powerful man. He could run faster than a speeding bullet and he could be more powerful than a speeding locomotive and he could leap over tall buildings in a single bound and wow, you know, everyone’s all I’d put a towel around my neck as a little boy and run around the house. Well, obviously he was a super man, but these super men is Jesus.
He is the most powerful being in all the universe. The Bible tells us that all things are held together and all things are held by the word of his power. And then notice the most powerful person being in the universe got himself and took on human flesh to God-man the Lord Jesus Christ that tells us here by the word of his power, by the word of his power, by the word of his power, by which the word of his power he brought the universe into existence.
The Bible tells us that clearly Christ is the Creator. By him were all things created and they were created by him and for him. And here it tells us by the word of his power, by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins. You know Christ purged our sins at the cross of Calvary. And notice this phrase here which I love in Hebrews 1-3. It says when he had by himself, by himself, by himself.
That means without your help, without my help, without your church’s help, without anybody’s by himself, by himself, purged our sins. It’s absolutely amazing that churches oftentimes try to get into the mix. Many teach that unless you keep the sacraments that you’ll not make it into heaven, that you have to have the church’s help and you have to have, you’re lending yourself to the cause and you have to climb your way up Sunshine Mountain and you have to keep the sacraments and you have to be in tune with the church and all of these things that you must do in order to be saved by being water baptized and such and such and such that are listed on many many uh…
publications salvation my friend is based upon christ alone and look at this verse i love it he was one three the one who created the universe the very one who upholds the whole universe together by his power by the word of his power when he had by himself all by himself without our help without the church’s help purged our sins. Some people teach a purgatory, there is no such thing as purgatory. Purgatory runs contrary to the whole Bible. It means from the Latin, a place of purging, where sins can be purged.
And by the way, the Bible says that sin can never be purged by our works. But yet purgatory, supposedly, is a place that you can go and work off your last sins, the sins you didn’t get paid for here on this earth in another place that is totally contrary to the Bible which tells us that salvation is not of works Ephesians 2-9. It tells us to the one who does not work Romans 4-5 but would believe on Christ who justifies them godly, God’s righteousness would be credited to him for righteousness.
It says here by the word of God’s power when he had by himself, By himself purged our sins. He purged our sins. So if there is a purgatory, it’s Calvary, and Calvary is the place where God purged our sins by his own death and shed blood at the cross. There is no other place where sins might be purged that would be contrary to all scripture. The Bible is so clear for the believer. Second Corinthians 5.8 says absent from the body, present with the Lord.
For many, they are told falsely, incorrectly, that to die is to be absent from the body and present in purgatory. That’s a tragedy. That is amazingly wrong. And the Roman Catholic Church estimates that the average Catholic will spend 100,000 years in purgatory. after death to get rid of those sins that they didn’t get rid of here. A hundred thousand years in Flaming Tormund, of course the whole thing is nonsense. That’s no such thing as purgatory. There’s no purgatory in anybody’s Bible, not your Bible, my Bible, or the Roman Catholic Bible.
It’s not there. There is no such thing. It’s an invented doctrine. But the sins that you and I have committed in this life came past, present, and future were fully paid for by Jesus Christ and his death at the cross. When he fully paid our sins he said on the cross, It is finished, my friend. It is finished. There is nothing left for you to do. Thank God! He paid it all, and I love that hymn. Jesus paid it all.
All to Him I owe. Sin had left the crimson stain, but he washed it as white as snow. I’d hate to sing it the way some people believe in their actual theology. Jesus paid only part. I’ll pay part myself. Oh boy. I’d hate to sing it that way. Jesus paid it all. You know, if you paid for part and Christ paid for part, you go to hell. The Bible says the wages of sin singular is death. And if you paid for one sin, my friend, you’d pay for it in hell.
Thank God Jesus paid it all. And we as believers owe everything to him. Sin had left a crimson stain, but he washed it. As white as snow the hymn writer wrote. I love this verse in Hebrews 1-3 where it says, Christ, who is the most powerful being in the universe, he’s God. He’s God who came to the earth and took on an human flesh. And by the word of his power it says, when he had by himself, purge our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty of high, on high.
is set down because his work is finished. The work of salvation is done and salvation is now obtainable by anyone that would simply believe or trust on Christ as Savior. You know, grace is God giving righteousness. The law is requiring righteousness. We’re not under law, we’re under grace. And if you were under law, then it would be required of you and you would have to produce. And that’s why nobody can ever be saved by the law. We’re saved by grace through faith.
Grace is God giving His righteousness, whereas law is requiring and demanding righteousness. And if anybody is asking you in your church that you have to do this or do that or change or do anything in the way of a human effort on your part, that’s really law or works. And the Bible says, no, we’re saved by grace, which is God’s giving righteousness, not requiring righteousness. If He were to require righteousness, we would fall short, the Bible says, and we’ve all sinned, and of all comes short of the glory of God.
We need His righteousness, and Christ by Himself purged our sins. That was the greatest news I ever heard. I was raised in church, thought I’d go to hell because I could never meet the standard by my works. the inner heaven and when I heard that Jesus himself took my sin and paid for it in full by his death and shed blood at the cross. And if I would just simply trust that he did that for me, he would save me.
That was the best news I ever heard in my life. I’m Dr. Anglinstron. This is my blind. We’re coming to you live from Tampa right now on this voting day. I hope you get out and get a chance to vote. And we are living in critical times where we are really today living in a state of war with obviously radical Muslims who want to destroy us, kill us. That’s right. That is their cause and they’re willing to die and explode themselves in order to accomplish that.
Did you know that only 15% of Islam is radical, but did you know that 15% of Islam is greater than the population of the United States? There are more people that hate us who want to kill us than we have in our population here in the United States. It’s a scary time. I’m glad Jesus is coming. I’m glad I’m leaving it the rapture. How about you? This is a time like no other time in the world. The Bible said the last times would be perilous times, and 15% of all the Muslims are radical Muslims and they are willing to die to kill you and me.
I’m glad I’m leaving at the Rapture. Jesus Christ is going to come back and win. And I’m glad I’m on the winning side, aren’t you? Isn’t that great? We’re going to go to the phone lines here. We’ve got lots of people calling in. Lots of all-fare questions. We’re going to try to tackle them as quickly as we can. Again, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. The phone number here is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to Jack in North Port, Florida, south of Tampa on the west coast of Florida.
Welcome. Welcome Jack to Bible Life. Thank you. This body goes in the grave. The soul and spirit is in heaven and we get the new glorified and corruptible body at the rapture at that resurrection. Is it true that the Bible is silent about the interim between the physical deaths of the Christian and the rapture as far as whether or not the soul and spirit is contained in any temporary form in heaven as our glorified body up there? Second-grindness fiber really addresses that and it says basically that the soul and spirit are naked without the body and Long for and look forward to that day when we are Made complete again as a triune being his body soul and spirit, but We definitely just and I don’t know much more that the Bible says about it except that but it says that he Will be naked without that body
But we’re confident knowing that as soon as the Lord comes back that He’ll give us that brand new body And it’s in comparison with eternity. It’s not a very long period of time So it’s absolutely for sure. Yeah, we’ll be conscious. We’ll be certainly aware of our circumstances We’ll be in the presence of the Lord and we’ll be alert and aware and if you’re apparently when anybody down here gets saved There’s rejoicing of those believers in the presence of the angels when they hear the announcement announcement that a loved one or someone else has gotten saved on the earth.
They are in a very happy state and obviously very much looking forward to hopefully their loved ones to join them and wait anxiously to hear that they get saved or not and they rejoice when it happens. Thank you for that question. Well, great Jack. Thanks for calling in. Glad to have you listening down there in North Port, Florida, south of Tampa. You’re welcome to call in again the numbers 1-800-576-3771. Alright we have here a couple of questions. Cindy in Tampa, Forta calls in and says there’s any scripture that says we were responsible to vote.
Well Cindy, God established human government way back there in the book of Genesis and That is one of three institutions that God has instituted. He instituted marriage in Genesis chapter 2 where we have the first marriage and then he instituted human government in chapter 9 through 12 of Genesis. And then of course in Romans chapter 13 it tells us that we are to submit ourselves to our government unless they ask us to do something unbiblical. But definitely we ought to pray for those in authority.
And since we have the privilege in this country to elect those that are in authority, which God says are ministers of God to bring about peace and tranquility for us as Christians as we live in this world that we might live as much as possible in peace when we go through this life. And certainly we’ve had that in America, our forefathers being Christians, establish a system where we can elect those in power to be godly men if we can find them out there that are willing to run and be in these positions.
And these pick out the best candidates that would best express our views and put them in the office. So absolutely, Cindy, I believe that we, as a Christian, should take opportunity here. And as we submit ourselves to our government, we pay our taxes. I certainly said we should do that to render unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar. And we have an opportunity in this country to, in a sense, elect the Caesar, or President of the United States. So we ought to get out and vote.
Thank you, Cindy, for that call. We also have here Peter in St. Petersburg. He says, we have two natures. What is the best way to fight the old nature? And the answer is to submit yourself and yield yourself to obey the new nature. In Galatians chapter 5 it says, walk in the Spirit which is speaking about walking in the direction of God’s Spirit, directs us through His Word and that means to obey the new nature, the nature which we have of God at the new birth.
And it says that you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. The flesh will never go away until you die. We always struggle with the flesh nature until we die will not be rid of it, but we can decide to cater to the new nature, not the old. That’s the secret. Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. The lust of the flesh will always be there. They’ll be there right until the day you die.
That’s why a Christian can fall into sin at any point in their life if they’re not careful. Because the old nature is always there. But if we are feeding our new nature and are walking in the direction of being obedient to the Lord, our new nature becomes strong and we’re able to have victory to the Holy Spirit over sin in our life. So the answer is get busy for God and get busy about yielding your life to serve the Lord every day as you get up.
Lord I want to live my day for you today and God will bless you for your efforts in that area. We have here a question here for anonymous and Clearwater. He says please explain purpose Timothy 5-8 and Luke 14 was regards to what you were talking about the other day. In 1st Timothy 5-8 it says if any provide not for his own, especially those of his own house, the night of faith, and is worse than an infidel. And of course, what it’s talking about here is that even those that are unbelievers and are infidels usually care for their families.
And so for a believer to do it, it is a disgrace. It doesn’t mean that you’re not saved or have lost your salvation, but definitely there is responsibility for believers to take care of their family. And even unbelievers do that. You see people that don’t know the Lord, that take good care of their family. But if believers do it, then that certainly is a big black mark and a disgrace to the believer who doesn’t care for his family. And I hear stories sometimes that are very disheartening.
I just heard a story this week of a mother who said she didn’t want her children. She didn’t want them anymore. in a tragedy to see a mother abandon the children that she brought into this world and this obviously is A disgrace. I’m not too sure that person is a believer, but certainly a believer is more responsible and hopefully that will Answer your question then of course you said could I answer that in light of Luke 14 26 where if any man come to me and and hate not as father and mother and children and so on.
The word hate that I mentioned yesterday is a comparative term. It doesn’t mean you hate your children or you hate your wife or you hate your family but it’s a comparative term. It means in contrast to your love for the Lord. Your love for your family and your children would be hatred in contrast. In other words it’s saying that you need to put God first in your life And you need to love him supremely. The Bible says in the commandments, I love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy mind, with all thy soul.
And so it doesn’t contradict because again, it is a comparative term. It doesn’t mean that we actually hate them, but it means that we love the Lord more than we love our family, and we love the things that we possess, that we love God first, and therefore will be loyal and our allegiance will be to God first about everything else. We will choose to take a stand for God. Joshua is that kind of man. In the last chapter of Joshua he says, I don’t know what you guys are going to do speaking to the rest of Israel, but he says, but as far as for me in my house, we will serve the Lord.
He made a choice and obviously that was the choice he made for his whole family as well. was a great choice is great when men step up the plate and make those kind of choices. We have been in Richmond, Virginia and then welcome to Beibolink. Great to hear from you. Hello Dr. Hank. I was wondering about the predestination of Mary and her being saved when the Holy Ghost. Well, I don’t know about the Holy Ghost being set upon her but she was a believer apparently before she was ever impregnated by the Holy Spirit.
And she willingly, obviously, submitted herself to the Lord, and she then, of course, has some remarkable prayers or statements that she makes after she learns of the fact that she is pregnant with Jesus. But God, of course, had foretold that a child would be born and would be born of a virgin, and it turns out that she was of the lineage of David. And she came through David’s son Nathan. And she obviously was not married. In fact, Joseph and Mary were the only two people on the earth that could have been the Messiah’s parents because both were of the tribe of David and of the tribe of Judah rather and of the seat of David and matched up exactly.
But as far as her salvation, that’s always never predetermined that everybody has their own choice. But yes, she was picked out to be the mother of the Messiah. I’m not about that. So some things are predestinated. I was predestinated to be born in America down in Miami, Florida apparently and I had no choice in any of those things, but my choice to be saved was my choice and I trusted Christ and I believe the same was true for Mary.
Okay, when we got the Holy Spirit, let’s get out of here. I don’t know. Obviously, he was still omnipresent whether he was taken on flesh or not, correct? That’s right. We’re going to have to hold up here because the break coming up right on top of me. Hold on. We’ll be back right after this short break. Everybody stay tuned. We’re going to go to break and come back and do Bible and Part 2. Don’t go away. Don’t go away.
Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m not your England’s German. It’s great to be with you. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast. We appreciate you and all of our listeners and guess what? We’re going to Israel. We’d love to have you go with us. March 12th. We’ll leave on a Monday coming back on March 23rd of Friday, 12 days in Israel. And I’d love to have you go trip number 14 for me.
We’ll be baptizing in the Jordan River. We’ll have the Lord’s Supper right next to the Tomb of Christ where his body was laid. We’ll be standing there next to the hill of Calvary where he was crucified. We’re going to talk about the Bible all day long on the very spots. We’re going to bring around some television cameras and shoot things that we’ll be able to use when we get back on the trip. And we’ll also probably do some live radio from Israel as the technology allows us to do that.
And we’re excited about going. I hope you’ll go with me. You can get the information by calling our 800 member and asking for the Israel trip information or go to my website Bibleline ministries.org Click on Bibleline news and you can pull down the full itinerary and print it out to read and also the sign up sheet. We need a hundred dollar deposit but we need nothing more until 90 days out you have until December 12th when you need to have half your money and then 45 days out before departure on March 12th you need the full payment in.
Love to have you go. By the way, Bible, I need your support. If you can help Bible, I’m with a gift. That would be great. And I want to thank you in advance for praying for and giving the Bible. You, our audience, are the ones who keep this program going without your help. We could not be on the air. And we thank God for every one of you. God bless you. And I pray that you would consider giving a gift.
If you just gave 50 cents a day. That would be incredible help to Bible out everybody listening did that we’d be fully able to pay all of our bills and We need your help because we don’t have any other type of funding. We don’t have a reserve account We don’t have a piggy bank. We don’t pay any salaries not myself or anyone else gets a salary Zero salaries all of the money goes back into the ministry and we are spread out all over the place And we’re spread right to the edge because we believe the the need is great for this program to be out there and we need your help to support it.
Consider giving a gift to Bible and call and give it by credit card over the phone or call and get the address or get a novel of sent to you with our address on it and send it to Bible and. The second half of Bible and it’s not carried on all the stations carrying Bible and if it’s not you can go to the internet and catch the second half. You can also call that station and say hey open up a full hour and Bible and I’ll be there for the full hour and that would be great.
We’re going to Re-join stations have been on break, do Bible in part two, so don’t go away. I’ll be right back in just about a second. So stay tuned here to Bible in. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for that break and this is Dye Blind Great to be with you today. Thanks again for tuning in and we love our audience and we thank God for you and…
We’re coming to you live right now from Tampa, Florida. This is a voting day. I hope you get a chance to get out there and vote. We’re living in a critical time in history and I believe that we can have a part in electing those that will hopefully give us the best choices for our future until the Lord Jesus comes back as we believe His coming has got to be close, especially with the stakes that are out there. day with weapons of mass destruction and a lot of folks that want to kill us.
Radical Muslims, we’d like to destroy all of us, kill us all. They’re only 15% of Islam, but you know, 15% of Islam is more than the population of the United States. It has a lot of people that hate us and would like to kill us. I’ll tell you, we’re living in perilous times, like the Bible says. That’s why it’s so important to get the gospel out. The only hope for this world is Jesus Christ. And people need to hear about Jesus and how to be saved.
We’ve had so many people tell us they’ve gotten saved through this program. If you’d like to invest in a program that’s reaching the lost with the gospel of Christ, which I don’t know how many are doing that, but I know that this program definitely is doing that. And also we’re challenging believers to move forward. Many have gone into Christian work. Many have become active Christians. They’ve kind of been on hold and this program has regenerated life and their Christian life.
And we’re excited about what’s happening. So if you’d like to be a part of keeping that going and expanding this ministry, your gift is absolutely essential. There are no salaries paid to myself or anyone else here at Bible and we are stretched real thin and we need your help. But that’s because we believe there’s an urgency here that Christ is coming and we don’t have much more time to be able to fool around. We need to be serious and we’re trying to be as smart as we can about not over extending but at the same time we’re pushing right out to the edge and we trust that God will supply through people just like you who would be willing to give a gift to Bible and send it by mail or you can give it by credit card over the phone.
Our operators can also send you an envelope with our address printed on it. We’re leaving for Israel March 12th. I hope you’ll go with me. And that’ll be a wonderful learning experience. It’s equivalent to a year of Bible college, I believe, while you’ll just drink in so much information all day long, the visual and audio input and actually being on the spot where the events took place locks things into your mind that will just change your life forever. It really truly is the trip of a lifetime.
It will be trip number 14 for me. We will be baptizing in the Jordan. We will be having the Lord suffer right next to the Tomb of Christ. We will be standing right next to the hill where Jesus gave his life for you and for me. We will just open our Bibles everywhere and talk about the Lord and have a great time. I would love to have you be on board. Get that information from calling in or asking for it or go to the internet by thelineministries.org.
on BibleEye News and you’ll be able to pull up the full itinerary printed out and sign up sheet. We only need $100 right now to sign you up. And then 90 days from departure December 12th we’d need half of your money and then 45 days later the other half and then we’ll be ready to go. So let me know if you have any questions call me and we’ll talk about it. I’d love to have you be on board with me.
We’ll have a great time and you are welcome to be a part of that trip to Israel March 12 coming back March 23 leaving on a Monday coming back on a Friday 12 full days in Israel. We have Ben who is in Richmond, Virginia still on the line and Ben are you still there? Hello Ben. Ben are you there? Yeah, I’m here. All right. Let’s continue where we were. Where were we? Okay, the Jesus is I’m the present whether he was in the womb or not and the angel of the Lord told Joseph to you know get out of town.
I’m not exactly sure. Well, that’s in chapter two. That was, of course, after the child had been born. The child was two years old at that point. And the Lord, of course, directed Joseph, told him directly to take your wife and the child and go down to Egypt until the death of Herod because Herod was seeking to kill the baby. And it’s a great illustration of how… The Lord leads the family through the man as God has appointed the man as the head of the home.
That doesn’t mean he’s a dictator or tyrant, but he is the one where the responsibility is really his. He’s going to be held accountable. Eve first took him to the fruit of the garden, but Adam followed and he was held responsible. Adam is the one that passed in upon the human race and so Eve we don’t see much about her in the story except that she was the first but Adam took the responsibility. He was the spiritual head and the same is true today and that’s what happened there but as far as Mary’s salvation or justice of salvation I believe they were both saved prior to the conception of Jesus and of course God did not make their choice for them.
I think somehow we’ve lost that call and then I’m real sorry about that. I don’t know how we lost it but we have now Carl in Tampa, Florida and Carl welcome to Bibleline. Yes sir. I wanted to make a comment. Go right ahead. Okay. My mother’s pastor which is Pentecostal saved. Since he was saved he didn’t spend no more. He never spent. And the other thing I wanted to make a point on isn’t the opposite of sin. And in my understanding when you have the Holy Spirit, even though you have the Spirit, you still got two natures and you end in out of the Spirit making those decisions all day long.
And the last thing is how many laws is it supposed to keep? Thank you. Well Carl, you know it’s interesting that you said since he was saved, it doesn’t sound like he has salvation right because salvation is not based upon personal righteousness. He’s apparently trying to live holy or without sin to be saved and no one has been capable of doing it. The Bible says and you need to point out to him or have your point out to your mom at at least it says in Romans 3.23 for all, a-l-l-l-all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God.
Romans 3.10 says as it is written there is none. The word none is important. None righteous, no not one. The only one who has ever been righteous on the surface of the human body was Jesus who is God and God is not capable of sinning and Christ never committed a single act of sin, but there’s no one that you can point to and say they are without sin. This tester is living in illusion and is deceiving himself if that’s what he thinks, and that’s certainly not true.
I would suspect that he’s trying to live that way and is actually in denial about the reality of the fact that they’re still sin in his life as we all sin. Sometimes sin is in the neglect to do things that were responsible to do. James says to him that know what to do good and do it not to him and his sin. Samuel, the prophet in the Old Testament, confessed to the Lord that he had sinned against the Lord in not praying for Israel as he should have as God’s prophet.
So his failure to pray was a sin. How many of us are guilty of not praying every day or as often as we should? We really are obligated to pray. The Bible says, without ceasing, as a believer, we ought to keep that line open and just be aware that the Lord is there in the background and that we ought to be in contact with Him at all times and we hope that you will and as a believer that’s very very important.
In any case in the Old Testament law there were 969 laws and obviously those 969 laws nobody has ever kept them and in order to go to heaven you’d have to be absolutely perfect. Okay, we have, let’s see here, a number of all fair questions. Maybe we’ll go ahead and catch some of those now. We have been, I guess, somehow he got cut off earlier and we’re going to go to Ben again in Richmond, Virginia. Ben, we’re back. Yeah, Dr.
Hank. I don’t know what happened, but we’re back together. Go ahead. Hey, no problem. No problem. I was going to ask you about Pentecost. Now Pentecost, most all of the, oh gosh, the talkin’ Most all these people by AB96 had passed on or had died that were in that room, correct? Exactly. So it was gone from that point on. Right. And I know that he can do something. If he can make a mule talk to a man, I mean, he can create what other miracles.
But all the stuff we’re seeing today is… I was going to say, I buy those Bibles from you, the Scolefields. Yeah. everybody you know that what is this and all that and then when you hand them one they go what other bible is there that and uh… anyway i teacher of funny school class for teenagers and i always keep a bunch of those in the room so people feel awkward if you just bring somebody in the class and you can tell what page it’s on and uh…
you know it just really worked out Well that’s right, we did that in my church. I call it the page number throughout the whole service and it makes it so user friendly a person comes in and maybe is a little bit embarrassed they haven’t held a Bible in ten years and they don’t really know quite which end is up and so on. And that makes it so easy and it makes it so comfortable as they study the word in our worship service and they can turn to the pages with me.
So that’s of a real blessing as far as teaching is concerned when everybody’s in a sense really literally on the same page right in the same uh… doctor yeah i mean the other battle that they’re so far out there some of them are that their parents give them with it whatever and uh… i just tell everybody just keep sending money to you i send money every month and uh… there’s very few i mean there you lost all the rotation but uh…
you got the right word coming out and i really think that you’re around it we can thank you and god bless you and thank you for us supporting by one okay yeah you too scoville bible love it and the uh… uh… notes are just excellent and came up first in nineteen oh nine so it’s not something new but new is always better i think new in many cases is uh… uhJose better uh… offer betty calls in from temple for that she says please explain how satan is the god of this world well apparently one time god appointed him in that position and uh…
that’s a g with a little uh… that’s a little g gone but back uh… before uh… adam and eve when god originally created the earth he placed lucifer in charge of all the angels here on this earth and uh… he became the god of this world and he still has a title even though he’s been judged. 2 Corinthians 4-4 says he’s the God of this world and he still manipulates this world system. If you don’t like the headlines Betty, blame the devil, not the God of the universe, the God of this world is the one that brought sin back in the garden as he deceived Eve.
An enemy of sin brought sin upon the whole human race and this earth came under a curse and you have Lucifer to blame for that. But definitely the God of the universe is not to be blamed for that. So thank you for that question. We have Tony in Richmond, Virginia and Tony, welcome to Bible and You’re on the air. Hello, Pastor Hank. This is Tony calling from Richmond. Gotcha. Yeah, I just had a question over a verse in Luke chapter 12 It was a verse 42 through 48 Okay, Luke chapter 12 I’m almost there in 42.
Yeah, my question is my understanding I’m trying to Evangelize to this church the church of Christ. I believe it’s a cold They believe in water babes and for solvations. To say that you can lose your salvation. And I just wanted to better equip myself with an understanding of this parable. Well, in this passage here, he’s pronouncing woe upon the Pharisees, woe is judgment. And he’s talking about all the wonderful works that they do, but they obviously left out the most important part, and it was the trust Christ to be saved.
So he said, you tithe and you, you know, really careful about whatever herbs you eat and so on. And you basically, you’ve missed it. It says, well, verse 43, I mean, you Pharisees, you love the uppermost seeds and the synagogues and greetings in the market and judgment in these scribes and parisades, hypocrites, you’re basically are as the graves which appear not. And men walk over them and are not aware of them. Basically they were not. They were sinners, but they were making out that they were righteous when they really weren’t righteous because they had to trust Christ in order to be made righteous and Christ is warning them.
And there are many denominations and organizations that do the same thing. They’re working their way to heaven and they appear to be good people and righteous. And as far as in our eyes they are but in God’s eyes they’re sinners and they’re unclean and God says they’re like corrupt and and and as Rotten men’s Rotten or as dead men’s bones bones that are decaying in the grave. So This passage here doesn’t prove their point if they’re using it to Prose something here.
It is the very verse that condemns them right They just go through certain parables and I know that mark on chapter 4 verse 11 says that the parables are used for the For the people that are not saved right there’s the bread basically the concealed truth not to reveal truth and most churches that I’ve known made that observation that don’t have the truth Focus a lot on the parables because they can make them say whatever they want to say and you have to be very careful with the parables because Christ states there that he spoke in parables to those that were without or were unsaved in order that seeing they would not see and hearing they would not hear, less than any time they should be converted and they should be forgiven them.
He was concealing truth and those that were spiritually proud and claiming to be wise and prudent and he hid them from those people. But a person who is seeking even a child can understand the truth. So that’s a tip off. I hope you don’t attend that church, but you’re just trying to reach them. If you knew, you’re right. I was wondering if you knew any more information as far as what they don’t believe in in the Church of Christ.
Well, one of them here locally has a pamphlet out. Twenty-two things you must do to be saved. Clearly all works. They’re working their way and anybody that’s working can’t be sure going to heaven. They believe you can lose it. So it’s all based on works. If you can lose it, it’s all based on works. They just need to trust Christ alone. And unfortunately, they are very difficult to win out of there because, again, they have a pretty tight hold on their people and don’t let them get loose, but they’re taught wrong and they’re false.
Well, thanks again, Pastor Lindstrom, and I’ll continue to support the ministry. thanks a lot for the enrichment virginia calling in here we have cyl in the service of florida kyle welcome to bible hey dot good thinking about uh… how i’m not really afraid to die because i know i’m going to be uh… uh… after from the body of the present but the law of net probably the best thing that it hit me When we’re raptured at the first of dead in Christ, go up then those who are alive.
If you’re absent from the body and present with the Lord, why? why will i’m a little foggy on that it hit me and it was like That’s a good question for you. You’re the only one. In 1 Thessalonians 4, it talks about the soul and spirit are with the Lord. In verse 14, he says he’ll bring them back with him. They are sleeping in Jesus or the dead, they’re referring to the body. So the soul and spirit come back with Christ.
Verse 14, but then in verse 16, the bodies rise up from the earth and meet the soul in the air. and then we which are alive and remain will be caught up physically and transformed on the way up and meet them in the air and forever will be with the Lord. So talking about the resurrection happening at the same time. So the soul spirit come back with Christ. Verse 14 says, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also would sleep in Jesus will God what bring with him.
So they’re coming back with Christ, then the dead in Christ speaking of the body rising up and meeting them, their soul in the air. So the soul will for body. That’s right. So if you died today, your soul spirit would go to be with the Lord and be conscious and alive in the presence of the Lord. But then if the rapture happened tomorrow, then you would come back with Christ to the upper atmosphere and your new body would rise up from the earth.
I clarify everything. Thank God. All right, Kyle. Thank you for calling in from Sarasota, Florida. And we’ve answered Betty’s question. Let’s see here. Willy in Tampa, Florida, calls in and he says, when the first earth was destroyed, how long and what destroyed it? Well, again, I believe that in verse 1, When God created the universe, He created the Earth and Isaiah 4518, He created it perfect and inhabited. I believe there was planet animals life on this planet, dinosaurs and so on.
And NASA says that the life on the planet was destroyed 65 million years ago when a huge asteroid with 125 mile diameter slammed into the area where the Yucatan Peninsula is Nagolfa, Mexico. You can see that round shape and you can take your own ruler and figure out by the little Code there on how much of the map equals so many miles that it was a big asteroid that struck and they say that so much debris Was cast up into the atmosphere that the Sun’s light was shut out for millions of years and that destroyed all life on the planet The Earth was totally flooded.
That’s what happened in Genesis 1-2. Then only 6,000 years ago, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters and incubated the earth. And I believe the seven days of the re-creative week occurred just 6,000 years ago. But the earth is very old and the earth destroyed, the life was destroyed maybe ifness is right 65 million years ago. Willy, I hope that helps and and not call back again. And anonymous from Tampa calls in or actually on the internet send any question.
That’s something you can do now. You can type in your question. And it says, please explain the dogs eating scraps under the table. Well, I’m not too sure how that needs to be explained. If you have a pet and you’re eating whatever falls on the ground, in fact, my sister The sister has a dog and if you are not careful that dog will be on top of the table in a heartbeat if you have him out at dinner time.
Dogs like to eat scraps. I am not too sure what the question is. You have a verse that goes with it. I will be glad to try to take another look at it. Anonymous and Tampa on the Internet. Please give it another shot. All right. We have Wally in Tampa Florida. Florida, one of the fruits of meat for repentance referred to in Matthew chapter 3 and verse 8. You know when the Pharisees came down to observe what John the Baptist were doing, they were adversarial.
They did not believe in his message. They did not believe in Christ that Jesus or other John the Baptist was announcing. And so he actually addresses them as being unbelievers here. And notice he says here in verse 7 of Matthew chapter 3, when he saw many of the Pharisees and the Sadducees come to the baptism, he said, Oh wonderful believers that you are, you’re so wonderful and God bless your soul. No, it doesn’t say that. I made that up.
Excuse me. Gee, John the Baptist said to them, Oh, generation of vipers. Now that’s not a nice way to address anybody. A viper is a deadly serpent. If I were to have you come up to me or meet me in the foyer of my church and I said, you are a viper. You’re a deadly serpent. You’re a snake. He goes on to say, who has warned you to flee from the wrath that come? And so here he is addressing them as unsaved, as snakes, as vipers as deceitful people, just like the serpent back in the garden.
And so they were coming down to his baptism and he says, I’m not going to baptize you unless you can demonstrate that you’re truly a believer, that you’re not deceiving me. So he says, bring therefore fruits meet for repentance again means a change of mind. The fact that you’ve changed your mind and you no longer preach the false teachings that You teach. Later Christ said to the Pharisees in Matthew 23, he says, you not only not inner heaven yourself, but you are preventing those that are going to heaven because of your false teachings.
And so John was smart enough to realize, hey, have you changed your mind and have you reputed all your false teachings about salvation being by works? And now you accept Jesus as your Savior. And so that’s what he’s talking about. They needed to demonstrate that they had maybe resigned their position as a Pharisee and say, hey, I’m not going to be a Pharisee anymore because obviously the Pharisees theological position is wrong and I’m not going to be one. And I think that’s what a believer does.
If you’re going to a false church, you need to say, hey, I am no longer going to be a part of that. I got saved in 18. I was going to a church that was false. The pastor didn’t know how to be saved, nor did anybody in the congregation. It was a big wake up for me to find that out. So we left my family, we left that church and we went and found and sought out a good Bible believing, teaching church.
Bye bye. We have lots more callers out there, but we’re running out of time. We have Nila and like Mary Florida waiting on the line, but I don’t think we’re going to get to you. We’ll have to wait till tomorrow. I hope everybody listening is trusted Christ. If you haven’t just whisper that prayer, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much, but I trust Jesus and His death and shed blood is the only means of my salvation that He was buried and came back from the dead.
He’s alive forever more. I trust Christ to save me. Then as a believer, make a decision to serve Him and God will bless you for your service.
