And certainly those of you that have gotten our Christmas special and are giving out those DVDs and CDs, let us know what kind of response you are getting. We are going to get into the Bible for a little bit and then we will be of course answering your questions.
So please feel free to give us a call here at 1-800-576. 3-7-7-1. Jesus Christ, of course, is God, who came and took on human flesh. The Bible tells us that in the beginning, John chapter 1 verse 1 was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. And then it tells us in verse 14, and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us. And John says, we, the disciples, beheld His glory. The glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
God comes to the earth to reveal Himself to His creation and to become our Savior. As Jesus Christ died on the cross of Calvary as a man, a sinless man, yet being God, He could make an infinite payment for the sins of the whole world. And we know that all those who would put their trust in Him would be saved. Revelation 1 5 tells us about Christ unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood.
The Bible is a book of the blood, and from the very beginning pages of Genesis you read about the blood that Abel slew, and Lamb, and shed its blood a picture of Christ and what he would do at the cross. And the Bible tells us when Abel offered up that lamb, because God received that sacrifice, he obtained witness that he was righteous. righteous. In other words, he’s already saved. He was already made righteous in the sight of God through faith in the coming Savior of the Lord Jesus Christ.
And when he offered up the lamb, it was a picture of what he believed that he believed that Jesus would come as the Lamb of God and be slain to pay for the sins of the world. You know when John the Baptist saw Christ in John chapter 1, he said, Behold the Lamb of God which takeeth away the sin of the world. Behold the Lamb of God which takeeth away the sin of the world. Christ came to take your sin and my sin.
And he paid for your sin and my sin by his death in our place on the cross of Calvary. And when we receive Christ as the one who made that payment for our sin, God saves us. There is no salvation outside the blood of Christ. And you know, when we end heaven, we’re going to sing about this fact that we were saved and redeemed by the, and washed by the blood of Christ forever and ever and ever. Revelation tells us that, if you want to take a look at that verse, it tells us in Revelation chapter 5 In verse 9 about the believers in heaven, they sang a new song, saying to Christ, thou art worthy to take the book and open the seals thereof for thou west slain and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred and every tongue and people and nation.
So we find here that we’re going to sing that new song about how we were redeemed by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ out of every nation, out of every kindred and tongue, out of every people on the earth, people all over the earth need to know Christ as your Savior. There is only one way to go to heaven. And a lot of folks don’t understand that salvation is exclusively in Jesus Christ. The only way to enter heaven is to trust Christ as your Savior.
If you try to get to heaven any other way, then you won’t make it. And you know a lot of churches have fallen into the trap of becoming just like the counterfeits that are out there in all the world religions and in the cults because the one common denominator that everybody that has it wrong has in common is that they teach works for salvation. The Bible teaches the opposite. The Bible teaches that we’re not saved by works. That it is the gift of God that it’s received by simply trusting Christ.
So you can go to Church A and Church B and Church C and Church D and yet if all those churches, A, B, C, D, E, F and G teach works as being necessary for salvation, then what they have in common is that they’re all wrong. That’s right. So it doesn’t matter what the nominal name they have. If they teach works as necessary for salvation, then they’re capital W.R.O.N.G. wrong. Did you know that in Ephesians 2,8 it says salvation is not of works, lest any man should brag, any man should boast?
And so I remember the night that I saw that for the first time when I got saved. I said to myself because my church had taught works for salvation. I said… He said, somebody is wrong. Either my church is right, and the Bible is wrong, or the Bible is right, and my church is wrong. My friend, the authority, is the Word of God. And so if you are in a church that teaches that you have to work or do something of self, to be saved or to stay saved, then that’s false.
The grace test, and by the way the word grace means mercy, unmerited favor. It is by definition the absence of any human merit or work on your part or my part. heart. And the grace test is when you just close your eyes and you ask yourself, am I being tugged to do something or not do something that will affect my salvation? If you are, then that’s a false message. You see the true message points you back to the cross.
And there on the cross Jesus said, it’s finished. Those three words, it is finished, are one word in the Greek. It’s an accounting term. It means paid in full. satisfaction received for the debt. When Jesus died, he fully and completely paid for your sins and mine on the cross of Calvary. Isn’t that amazing? It’s all paid for. And that’s why we can receive eternal life while we’re living before we ever die, and we can be assured of going to heaven while we’re living because it’s a gift.
But the word religion, I don’t like to use it. It comes from two Latin words, re-illigio. It means to do something of self to bind back to God. And all religions have that common denominator that they are working to do something to bind themselves back to God when the Bible is the opposite of religion. It is God doing for man what man could not do for himself. It’s not what we do for God that saves us. It’s what God did for us in Christ that saves us.
And when And we trust in what Christ did209 for us at the cross, God saves us. Isn’t that wonderful? And you know, I didn’t know that even though I had been raised in church until I was 18. And for the first time I heard the gospel presented that Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe. Sin had left the Crimson stain, but He washed it as wide as snow. I love that Him just as I am. But a lot of people who sing it don’t pay attention.
It says, just as I am, I come without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me. It’s only the blood of Christ. It’s only Christ’s blood that could satisfy God’s justice and allow you to have the gift of everlasting life. We can’t work for it. We can’t earn it. We can’t buy it. We can’t get it by any means except by simply trusting Christ. And that’s what the word faith or belief means. It means trust. The Greek word pustuo, p-i-s-t-e-u-o, means to trust, to rely upon, to put your confidence in, to rest your weight upon.
And when you put your trust in Christ, you rest your whole eternity’s destiny on what Christ did for you at the cross. God up in heaven saves you. And of course then, of course, we have the choice of choosing to live for Christ, earning rewards in heaven by living for him once we become saved. But our works have nothing to do with our salvation. Let me give you a great verse. In 1 Corinthians 3.15 it talks about the judgment when believers one day will be having their works examined.
And this verse says, even if all of your works were burned up, you had nothing that was worthy of reward in your life. You did nothing for God once you got saved. It says in 1 Corinthians 3.15, if any man’s works shall be burned. He shall suffer loss, that is loss of reward, but he himself shall be saved.” Wow, that is clearly different to what many people are teaching. For those who teach or believe in the perseverance of the saints, that goes totally against that which it is a wrong doctrine.
It is a man-made doctrine. It certainly is not biblical. That verse tells us in 1 Corinthians 5 and 15 that if you did nothing, you did not persevere. You did not live for God. You did nothing worthy of reward. You would suffer loss of reward, but you would still be saved. Our salvation is not based upon our works. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. If you haven’t, you need to do that and you can do it right now.
You can just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible, but you can trust Him right now. Just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. We all are. But I believe Jesus Christ died and paid for that sins, was buried and came back again from the dead. When you trust Christ, God saves you. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. We’re going to take our calls now. The number’s 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And we’ll be glad to take your question and try to answer it here today on Bibleline.
And remember, we’re on five days a week live. And on in Tampa Bay, we’re on seven days a week at 10 o’clock in the morning for an hour. And in some of the other areas. They play us as a bonus on the weekend. You might check and find out when those programs are aired so you can catch it on the weekend. But certainly if you go to the Internet site you’ll be able to catch us anytime, day or night, wherever you might be on the planet Earth.
Okay the phone numbers Bibleline 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And we’re going to go ahead and catch your What’s your question? All right. You know, a lot of people bring… A lot of people bring up the question, can you lose your salvation? The answer is no. The reason why is because you are not keeping it. God is the one that keeps you saved. The moment you trust Christ, you become saved forever. In John 637 Christ says, Him that cometh of me, I will in no wise cast out.
That means for no reason or in no circumstance would Christ ever cast you out once you trust Christ the Savior. That’s John 637. I hope you would write it down. John 637, He will never cast you out for any reason whatsoever. That’s good news. But there are some people who seem to be clever, I guess, and they say, well, okay, he won’t cast me out, but can’t I cast myself out? And John 639 slams the lid shut on that one.
Christ says, this is the Father’s will. But of all which you have given me, I should lose none, but raise them up again at the last day. So the moment you trust Christ, you find that God is the one that keeps you saved. Christ makes a promise saying it is God’s will that he would not lose anyone, not one that would come to him. Isn’t that great? That’s great news. Alright. Well, we have a lot of all fair questions here and we’ll go ahead and try to take some of those and we have people stacking up here to get on the air with us live and we’ll hold those up a minute and try to get on air with them as well.
And so one of the questions We have here is I heard you say this is Tom in Luke’s Florida who leaves this offer question. I heard you say that the USA is possibly the little horn spoken of in the book of Daniel. Please explain. I’ve heard many scholars say it is the European Union. Well you know it’s interesting that the little horn in Daniel 7 verse 8 is spoken of as an 11th country. There are 10 countries there which were clearly I believe countries that were part of the ancient Roman Empire that come together in the last days and we’ve seen that in the European Common Union.
But then it talks about another. And if you have another, that means we have an 11th country. If you have 10 eggs and you have another egg, that’s 11 eggs. So you have 10 countries and you have another horn, another country, then there are 11. And the 11th one is spawned, it says, by the So the only country in the world that is younger than, stronger than and spawned by the countries of Europe is of course the United States of America.
We are the 11th country and we are therefore identical with and are the same as the little horn in Daniel 11. The inner crisis will come out of this country and we believe that Europe and America will then come together as the bible tells us that apparently europe will be taken over by america militarily and then also uh… they will together take over the middle east i think we can see the handwriting on the uh… on the wall we’re now going to go to john richmond virginia john welcome to buy one year job and hey john Yeah, I had to share with you, speak or say something there while it goes to the battle.
How you get saved? Just come to crash and tell him. Well, when you trust that he died for you, do you believe John that Christ died and paid for your sins at the cross? Yeah. Well, when you believe that, and when the word believe means to trust, when you trust that he died for your sins, John, past, present, and future at the cross was buried and rose again from the dead, God knows that, and he saves you the moment you trust him.
It’s that simple. Yes, you find that. What’s fifty-five minutes? Well, John 3 16 says it for God’s love the world that includes you John that he gave his only begotten son That’s Jesus Christ and who’s so ever that means you John or me or anyone else that would believe or trust in Christ That it says we should not perish because he perished in our place, but that we would have That’s a president’s verb it means right now everlasting life So when you believe the word believe means to trust when you trust in Christ you’ll not perish but you’ll have everlasting life.
That’s all you got to do. That’s it? John’s 360. Well, that’s not what the problem is. What is it? What do you think you have to do, John? I think you ought to do what he told you to do. Which is what? He told his servant to do his, keep it to man, man. But a lot of things you got to do, you got to do the thing that’s right. You can’t get stated that you trust him and don’t do the thing that’s right.
Well, God, if you trust Christ, you become a slave. Then there is a second decision to be made where you become a disciple. That’s when you live for Christ. I trusted Christ as Savior, but I didn’t become a disciple of Christ until a year later. I was saved when I trusted Christ. A year later, I began earning rewards in heaven. When you live for Christ, you’re going to get paid or reimbursed or compensated for whatever you do for Christ.
So if you live for Christ after you’re saved, God is going to reward you. If you don’t, you’ll suffer loss of reward, but you’re still going to be saved. Our salvation has nothing to do with works at all. Romans 4, 5 says to him that does not work, but believe it on Christ who justifies the ungodly, his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. John, if you’re trusting in Christ plus works, you’ll not be saved at all because you’re not really trusting Christ.
Let me just say if you’re to go down to the dock and there’s a little boat there tied to the dock Are you trusting the boat if you only put one foot on the boat and the answer is no As long as you have a foot on the dock you haven’t trusted the boat What if you put both feet on the boat, but you’re still holding on to the dock with both hands You still haven’t trusted the boat to trust Christ You have to totally take your hands off and your feet off of the dock and put your weight fully on the little boat or in a sense put your weight or confidence fully in Christ to save you.
As long as you’re trusting in some of your works to help get you there, you’ve never trusted Christ. You’re not saved. That’s right, because you don’t keep it. Christ says he would not lose anyone that came to him. So if you trust Christ and become saved, which happens at the instant you trust him, then he promises that he would not lose one person. John, not one. John 639. but I try to go out here and do something wrong and stuff like that.
Because I’m going to still be saved. You sure will, but the thing is you’ll go to heaven, sin, and you’ll plan on it. You know, God will thank you. The Bible promises, Bible says no sin gonna be in heaven. That’s right. Well, if I sin, then I’m gonna go to heaven. Because all of your sins past, present, and future have already been paid for, John, at the cross. I know you’re paying me, speak. He sees you positionally as being righteous from the moment you believe.
now if you send as a believer god will spank you god is now your father for the first time if you are saved and you become his child and if you’re delinquent he’ll spank you might say come on up home here to heaven because i’m not going to let you be down on the earth anymore for the link you’re going to take up the head and we’ll call you the seller that’s right it’s the end you’re going to take up the head and quit he’s going to take you out of here sooner than you plan on going read first Corinthians 5.
There’s a man who’s a Christian. He’s living in fornication with his mother, and he’s proud. He’s not ashamed of it. And it says in verse 5, to deliver such a one unto Satan to kill his body so that his spirit would be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. So this man will be saved, but the Lord allowed Satan to take his life and to kill him and take him home to have it early. There are many, many examples in the New Testament.
First Corinthians 1130 says about the Corinthian blabbers. For this cause many of you are weak, many of you are sickly and many of you are dead. That was because of sin, the un that they were living and rebellion against the Lord and sin, and the Lord took him out. Yeah, but he told me it was, man, I’m a sick man. He didn’t say he took him to heaven. He says many of you sleep, that means they were dead. They died.
But he took it… Yeah, I know it. The died thought it did wrong. Right? And then the Lord took him right to heaven. That’s what the Bible says you’ll be saved. You’ll suffer loss of reward when you get to heaven, but you’re still saved and you’re saved forever. John you need to trust Christ alone as long as you’re hanging on to how you live your life to get yourself to heaven You’re trusting in your works and John you’re not saved and you’re not going to heaven Unless you trust Jesus Christ as your only hope of reaching heaven So you really need to re look at everything and realize that salvation has nothing to do with your behavior with your obedience with your works, it’s all of Christ.
But then after you become saved, we’re confronted with being disciples, which comes by living for Christ afterward saved. John, I pray for you that you would understand this because if you are trusting Christ plus works, you’ll have no mercy when you stand before God and you’ll not be saved. Romans 11, 6 says, if by works, is no more grace and then you won’t be able to have it. You’re going to break. We’ll be right back in just a minute.
Thank you John for that call. We’ll be back for the second half of Bible. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund. This is Bibleline. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks again for tuning in to the broadcast. We hope you’ll tune us in every day Monday through Friday. And over the weekend you can catch us on the internet because we are on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be heard from anywhere in the world.
Also by the way, we stream our television programs and our radio programs and they can be heard from anywhere in the world. By the way, on Sunday mornings we webcast our morning service so you can actually join us live. As we worship on Sunday morning in the message that I deliver, if you click on the camera on the home page of our website Bibleline Ministries, if you’re there watching about eleven o’clock Sunday morning you’ll see clouds going by, you’ll hear the old rugged cross and when I start the message the video and audio will come up and you’ll be able to watch the worship service, the message that I bring every Sunday from Calvary community.
Hope you’ll do that. By the way, we certainly hope that you might consider giving a gift to Bible and as we close out this year, it’s not too late. You can do it by credit card over the phone and give a gift to Bible and a text to the gift to the Lord’s work and it’ll help Bibleline as we accept this year and begin a brand new year on January 1st. So consider if you would being a partner with us and giving the Bibleline, we’re really trying to get this message of the gospel out and it’s expensive because money and I don’t get paid, our staff doesn’t get paid, but we do have all the stations to pay and the other costs associated with the ministry.
So would you please consider maybe giving a gift and you can call and get that gift by using your credit card if you would like. By the way, also, we still have those specials running if you’d like to get the 52 CDs, Sunday messages for the whole year for a gift of $250 to Bible and that would be great always so you You can get the $100 Christmas special still available and just call it on our prayers and explain that to you and we’ll be glad to ship that right out.
And we’re going to go back down to stations that have been on break and do the second half of Bibleline and I hope you’ll be listening to the second half. If your station doesn’t carry the second half then you can go on the internet and catch the full program and call your station and ask them if they can free up the full hour so we We could be on for the full hour in your area. I’m Dr. Englunds from we’re about ready to do the second half of my blind.
So keep your radio tuned where it is or go on the internet right now by blindministries.org. Here we go. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break. This is my blind. This is part two. Our phone lines are all stacked up and we got all fair questions and we want to try to get to as many of you as we possibly can.
And so we’re going to go right now to Ken and Clearwater who’s been patiently waiting forever. Ken, welcome to the Bibleline. Hey, good morning. Thanks for being so patient with that last caller there. I think a lot A lot of us, you know, one time in our life, were in the same boat thinking the same way he did. I think you said you were that way for like the first 18 years of your life. Well, he’s really thought that my works made the difference in what I’d go to heaven or not.
And it was totally wrong. And it’s I hope John will trust the Lord. I believe he’s trusting in Jesus plus works which won’t save you. Right. I would recommend if he could and you had a little broach and see if you were going to go to heaven or not. We have that and maybe we can get John to call back and give us his address and we’ll mainly one for free. Oh, wonderful. and i think that i said a prayer for my about a bunch of your listeners did too if he continues to listen to this program like like a lot of us would be very helpful though one thing sort of long that same line to be was talking about i was just reading them john starting at here the last few days in chapter six you know sometimes you read the bible and all of a sudden something will stick
I’ll stick out at you that you’ve probably read before, but for some reason it just sort of leaps off the page. And it’s John Gospel of John 628 and 629. I was just wondering if you… if you could explain absolutely I’ll drop off and maybe you could explain it and I’ll listen on the radio. Alright. These people here had been there to see the feeding of the 5,000 and they were thinking in terms of works for salvation and they said in verse 28, then they said unto Christ, what shall we do that we might work the works of God?
And then Jesus says unto them, this is the work of God that you believe on Him whom He I believe what he is referring to there is that the work that God did at the cross in Christ is the work that you must believe on. And when you believe on that work, then God saves you. There are numerous other verses that seem to imply that very same truth in the book of Acts in chapter 13. It tells us again that we are saved just by faith, but he says in verse 41 of Acts 13, Behold you despisors and wonder and perish for I work a work in your days a work which you shall in no wise believe Though a man declared unto you so there’s a work that we’re to believe in but it’s the work that God did for us at the cross
When Jesus made the full payment for your sin and mind and when we believe in that work then we are Saved but as long as we try to do works of ourselves ourselves, then we will not be saved. And hopefully that helps explain that in John 6, 28, and 29. We have Pat down in Venice, Florida. Pat, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth. Oh, good morning, Dr. Linseter. Good morning. I have a question for you regarding the body, the soul and the spirit.
Feel free. Okay. It’s my understanding that at death the body is separated from the soul and spirit. That’s right. Now I have a Bible study teacher that’s telling me the soul dies with the body. And my question to him was, well then we go to heaven, mindless, we’ll listen to it in motion. He says, oh no, you take on the spirit’s mind, will and emotion. I’m trying to find in the Bible verses that says the soul lives. Okay. I’ll give you a good one real quick here Matthew 1028.
I was just going to admit to that I’ve got it right in front of me. It says fear not that can kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. Oh, right. And so the soul and spirit… When the rapture happens when Christ returns and you’ll get your new resurrection body and you’ll be complete again, body, soul, and spirit in heaven. Correct. Okay, very good. That verifies with what I’m thinking and I had Matthew 10 28 right in front of me.
Oh, look at that. You’re right on, and he’s wrong. He’s absolutely wrong. Good. Thank you so much. You’re welcome. Bye-bye. Pat down in Venice, Florida and hopefully she can go back and straighten him out. Alright, we’re going to go to Dave in Plant City and Dave, welcome to Bibleline you’re on here. Good morning Dr. Hank, I want to wish you a happy new year and a safe new year and thank you again for your ministry. Thank you and you live in the strawberry capital of the world.
Are they out there picking strawberries yet? uh… i don’t know if they’re picking but they’ve certainly got him planted and they’re growing and blooming and they were right on the edge of getting ready to get them so boy it’s all green i just wanted to uh… add to your comments to the first caller john i just want to point out to him and a lot of the people that think like him just to remember the thief on the cross that’s a very powerful illustration he had no time to do any kind of work or anything other than the trust and Christ to get into heaven and jesus told them that he would be impaired eyes if they would just read that and paid to the holy spirit open their eyes and mind to the bible when they read it and read in romans and acts and through the new testament
the clearly tells me that works is is not important to to get salvation i just wanted to pass that on that’s excellent and they’ve been thank you so much and you know our works are filthy rags anything that we do it says in the s s sixty four six that are righteous needs are filthy rags in the sight of god there’s nothing we can ever do to be able to gain salvation we have lu in campa for the and lu welcome to buy on your own ear well dr hank how are you how was your christmas great new break uh…
listen i hear some preachers uh… they throw in uh… in to be saved you accept the lord jesus christ is yours as your I hear them say, Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, but then I hear some preachers that say, except Him has your Lord and Savior, they put the word in there. Is that anything to worry about? Is that a technicality? Well, I think it’s a tip-ball that they don’t understand the difference. They’re trying to say, except Christ is your Lord, which you submit yourself to the Lordship of Christ.
Right. Is Lord a title to Jesus Christ? Or is Lord, when you say Lord, you all… you are, you get saved first and then when you say, he is my Lord, then you become the disciple? That’s basically it. You receive Christ as Savior and you’re saved when you receive Christ as your Lord and you allow Him to rule over your life. That’s when you become a disciple. But when you put the word and in there, you should be a little skeptical.
Absolutely, because they’re mixing the two together and I never do that. You accept Christ as Savior to be saved. And later as a second decision, you accept him as your Lord and allow him to control your life and that’s when you become a disciple. Okay, one more. But again, the great commission it says, and I didn’t read it exactly, but I heard that, go out and make disciples of all nations. Is that correct? Well, that is correct. But that’s the great commission is in two steps.
1650 says go into the world and preach the gospel every creature No, we’re to take those that we’ve won and Disciples them so that they can in turn you out and tell the lost about how to be safe Oh, so that’s you right Matthew is just basically doing the disciple one. He’s not doing the salvation Well, I think it’s assumed that you first went into Christ But then you make that you make right because a lot of preachers will say now wait a minute now See if it was if you were separating the two between salvation and and discipleship, then Jesus wouldn’t have said, go out into all the nations and make disciples.
And I was kind of at a loss because I knew somewhere that it just did say, go out and preach the gospel without the word disciple being used. Exactly. Well, it’s really, I think part two, and in the foyer of my church, I have given the full great commission, which is in two parts. The first part I summarize this, going out and winning the loss to Christ. The second part is then taking the loss that we’ve won and training them to intern you out and reach the loss.
And that’s the full great commission is that we not only are to win the loss, but we’re to train the loss that we’ve won to intern you out and reach the loss. And then it just continues from generation to generation to generation. Alright, so would you say it would be safe for me when I go out to try to preach the gospel to try not to say you’re going to take the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. Leave the word Lord out completely at first and today.
I would leave it out in that expression because then it’s his full title Lord Jesus Christ. But if you say accept Him as your Lord and the accept Him as your Savior at the same time that’s a mixture of discipleship for salvation with just simply for the Lord. just simply trusting Christ. Well, Brother Hank, thank you very much. God bless you. Have yourself a blessed New Year. All right. Thank you. And there are those that do that and then they’re not saved.
Like in Matthew 722, that group will stand before Christ at the Great White Throne Judgment and they say, Lord, Lord, so they acknowledge the Lordship of Christ. Then they brag in both about three areas where they’ve submitted to the Lordship of Christ. Christ. They say, haven’t we preached in your name and healed in your name and done many wonderful works in your name? The result will be Christ says in verse 23, I never knew you. He didn’t say, I once knew you and I lost you.
He said, I never knew you because you see they were counting on their service to Christ being their ward to be saved when they didn’t trust Christ and his shed blood and his death as the only means of their salvation. So there’s quite a difference there. We’re going to go to Doug in Pensacola, Florida, and Doug, welcome to Bible Life. Hey, thanks, preacher. How are you doing this, Martin? Good. Last week, we had a caller talking about election, and it took me quite a while, preacher, to kind of get it together because you see so many times the word, you elect in the Bible.
Well, when I was going through a Bible study one day, I noticed in first, I followed you to one for the verse that kind of cleared it up. says, knowing brother and beloved, your election of God. So the election is from the person us doing, we’re electing God. We’re saying, God, we thank you. Now, I’ll show you what happens in the NIV. This is a system of works in cadre. They know what they do. They pervert it. They say, for we know brothers love by God that he has chosen you.
You see, the difference, they had completely also that fella was called, Jack. Yeah. I tell people this, I have a granddaughter. Oh man, she is so precious. She’s a teenager now. But she is the apple of my wife’s eye. She has a phone talking and my little granddaughter in her white dress was outside plain. My wife would be Raven. Oh, the beautiful child. She’s so pure, she’s so clean. But looking out the window, you might see my granddaughter fall down in the mud.
My wife doesn’t see this. My wife sees her pure clean and in that white dress. and that’s what you have to do this if we follow them about we don’t lay there in a row limit and one final thing if you allow me the lady said that the soul and the spirit there was a difference uh… she also flipped in that it was the intellect in relation six minutes of uh… when you open the fifth c l i saw under the altar the soul of the amendment was played for the word of that so it’s more than the intellectual it’s sort of like you had a football and had the other football in the inner tube i believe the soul would be like the inner tube you think brotherly uh…
the thing that holds it the few of the new mother yet to eat the air sounds pretty good to me i had never heard that before but no doubt that’s a good person revelation of the souls of their uh… after death they don’t die yet not a mind it’s not a minor in electric thought that that obviously that part of it but when the when the soul of the person goes to hell they take all the no one feel with them they don’t take their body with them but that soul burn field remember you see absolutely okay thank you so much i agree and uh…
certainly this thing about election is a lot of people confused i i i like what deal with the city said the whose will those of the like and whose ever won’t for the non-elected said simple uh… can’t get anymore simple than that dot is chosen before the foundation of the world to save all that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and they are the elect we have doctor namas who is up in dade city florida beautiful place just north of tampi wouldn’t think you’re in florida when you’re in that area and uh…
mister doctor anonymous you’re on the on the air how you doing that day and i’m going to call you back to me on the phone okay uh… Apparently you still getting told it’s only one about You know what I mean? I’m going to Christ something about you explain it. So I want to go through it again. I just want to elaborate a little bit about never say this, except just Christ is your Lord and say these Christ is your Savior.
That’s first and then Christ should become your Lord, but you don’t accept Christ as Lord to be saved. You accept Christ as your Savior to be saved. Yeah, but what I’m saying is what you’re doing just not to be saved. about 90% of the ministers are pastors, who we have our open up here, the plan is for our raising to leave someone to Christ, they usually do that. And what you’re doing, and you’re making the seem like those people are an enterprise and false prophet, and this informing people, and I think that you are, you should just leave it alone, because we really richly, all Irenisha Bao and the kept years Christ is Lord, you know, so why we gotta wait until we die to do it.
Because I can’t do this except for Lord and Savior, why we on this earth and see it boldly and we’re not gonna be fighting out with tongues. Well the thing is a lot of those people will do it in hell. You know if you’re trusting in your works to be saved then you’ll confess with your mouth and you’ll bow your knee and acknowledge that Christ is God. That’s what Lord bear means. That He is the God of the Bible, the God of creation and for some it’ll be forever too late.
But I think they are mixing people up and I think it is an important point to talk about that as I said in Matthew 722 those people accepted Christ as Lord but apparently never accepted him as Savior. And if you do that then obviously you’re going to go to hell because you’re trusting in your works and Christ said to that group I never knew you in Matthew 723 and they had acknowledged they said Lord Lord and then they said look Look at what we’ve done.
We acknowledge your Lord Jim and they preached and they healed and they did wonderful works in the name of Jesus and Christ said, I’m sorry, but I never knew you. Have they trusted Christ in His death and shed blood? He would have said, come right on in, but they didn’t do that. And so it is an important point. Thank you so much for sharing with us. We now have Rick in Tampa, Florida. Rick, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Good morning, Pastor Hank. I’m a member of your church there and I’ve been having a hard time getting through to my mother and my sister and I just wanted to know when the One year up today show would be on archive if I could Give that to them. Well, it usually takes several hours. I guess later this afternoon. It should be You can be able to get them to go ahead and Click about you know a couple hours into it and no it should be there very good Okay, all right.
All right. Thank you. And yes, these shows can be downloaded in mp3 format for free for your iPod. You can call us and order a CD copy that we can mail out to you if you like in particular program and so on. And we’re thinking about offering a whole series, maybe a program for the whole month on a CD in the mp3 format. for those that would like to have it that way. But if you go to the internet, they’re all sitting there, and you should be able to listen to them.
And usually it takes several hours after the show before the day’s program or that day drops into the archive. If you want to dial this up, by the way, the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. and looks like I won’t be talking to you guys again till next year. This year’s ending and Monday will be the year 2007.
Hard to believe is in it. We are going to slip out of this year and enter another year. You’re sure welcome to come by and worship with us on the last Sunday of the year. How are you going to close out the year? Are you going to go to church and send me? I hope you have a good Bible believing teaching church where you can find yourself at home, hearing the Word of God taught, people getting saved and challenged to live for Christ, and so on.
And if you live in the Tampa Bay area and you don’t have a good solid church to attend, we certainly invite you to come and visit us. And this Sunday you can close out the year with us as we end the year 2006 and then enter the new year 2007 on Monday. And pray for Bibleline as we end this year and then move forward into The New Year. That’s going to be exciting. We are going to have some more classes I’m going to be offering.
We’ll announce probably next week what we’ll be teaching and those for those in the area can come and sit in. But we’re also going to make it available. So if you have internet, you can actually sit in those classes live. You can sign up and get the passcode to take the class with me live on the Internet, which is exciting. We have a caller right now, Offair, Ray in Springfield, Missouri, I guess. I’m not too sure. He says, do you offer Bible studies on DVD?
And the answer is yes. We have just taught two series. One called Meeting the Challenge about the Christian Life is Exciting. And that’s available on DVD, Ten Hours of Teaching. We also have it on CD. Then we just finished one, 10 vital doctrines, which is an exciting course, and that is also available on DVD. And for a gift of $75, you can have either one of those, both for $150. And if you get them on CD, it’s $50 for the 10 hours of teaching, but the DVD, that’s video, and you can play it for an audience or play it for your own benefit.
So if you want to use them to facilitate a Bible study, some people do that. You could put the video up on a big screen and have people go through a portion of that and then discuss it and then go through the 10 hours of teaching on meeting the challenge and also 10 vital doctrines of the Bible. Thank you, Ray, for calling in from Springfield, Missouri and asking about Bible studies. We have a number of my studies. We’ve just now started to view it as a DVD, but about 40 of them are available on CD, the Book of Revelation, the Book of Daniel.
I can’t tell you how many people have told me they’ve had a Bible study where they have used my CDs to facilitate that study. The Book of Revelation has been one I know that has been used for many, many Bible studies. and many parts of the country we hear people doing that in many different states that are buying these resources we have in using them to get the word of God out and teach it. We have a lot of all fair questions here.
We’re coming up on the end of the program here And one of those is, what is the best way to study the Bible? John and Tampa calls in with this question and leaves it. And you know, I think it needs to be systematic. You need to maybe start in maybe the Gospel of John. I would read it numerous times before I would go anywhere else. It’s such a fundamental book that if you can get the basics in the Gospel of John, it will help you then as you go to other parts.
Then maybe go to some of the Epistles, which are the letters that the disciples wrote, the letters of Paul and so on, and these will help you. But if you get a Scofield Bible, which is what I use, the Old Scofield, you’ll find it so helpful because the notes are geared to your understanding the doctrines of the Bible. And that would be really a great benefit to you. Let me encourage you to do that. And of course, our CDs are very helpful.
A lot of people tell me that they have listened to them numerous times. And each time they learn more and new things, as they listen, we give you so much meat. When you go through our studies with us on CD or now the DVD, you’ll find that you can go back again and again and glean a lot of brand new truth. So in any case we pray that you will maybe take advantage of the car bookstore. We can send you a resource list out.
You could also go on the internet to our online bookstore and there you will find that we have descriptions and pictures of everything that we have and you can take a look at those and you can order right over on the internet or you can call in and order with a live operator here at Bible and headquarters. We have to run but would you consider giving a year end gift to Bible and on. We’re helping us out, and we close out this year, hopefully, with everything paid off as we entered the brand new year.
We want to thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts. God bless all of you that have given to Bibleline and have prayed for Bibleline during this past year. We appreciate each of you so very, very much. We are certainly praying that if you’re listening today and are not saved, and John, I hope you will call back. and we’ll send you the CD that the other person suggested that if you could listen to that it would be great but again a lot of folks are trusting in Christ plus works and we will be glad to make that different so apparently we just got word that John did call so that’s wonderful we’ve got a run here but we’ll We’ll be back on the New Year on Monday.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year, happy New Year to all of our listeners and have a great weekend.
