Hopefully you are a saved person. Hopefully you know where you would go if you were to die. And if you’re not certain, then chances are maybe you haven’t understood the plan of salvation because the plan of salvation is that it’s finished. It’s a done deal. Once you trust Christ, you are saved and you are saved forever. Romans 5-1 says, therefore being justified. It really should read, therefore having been justified. Past tense, by faith. We have, present tense, peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

So we’re justified, declared righteous in God’s court of law, My faith and it says here to the Romans that Paul is writing to, that they already had been justified when they placed their faith in Jesus Christ and as a result they presently possessed. Peace with God. You know, once you trust Christ, you’re saved from that moment on forever and ever and ever. And as a result, your future is secure. Later in chapter 8 of Romans it says in verse 38, I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor heights nor depth nor any other creation shall be able to separate me in the first tense.

First person, it says separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. So once you become saved, nothing can separate you. Death, life, your future, any powers that there might be in this world or outside of this world. The Bible says once you become saved, nothing can ever separate you from the love of God. you trust Christ, you are His and His forever. And you know that was a great revelation to me because in the church I was raised in, I was led to believe that God would have a scale one day and that when I died the books would be pulled out and they’d read off the good and bad things that I had done.

Wates would be applied to a scale. I would watch the scale in hopes that it would weigh in my favor, that I’d have more good works than bad works and that would allow me to enter heaven. And if I had more bad works than good works, then I would not be allowed to enter into heaven. So I was a little bit nervous about what was ahead for me. I was a little bit frightened that maybe I would be one of those that would go to hell.

I was always uncertain about my future because I couldn’t tell at that point whether I would go to heaven or hell, my life hadn’t been lived out. I figured it was based on works and I had to wait until after I died to be able to find out whether I would go to heaven or not. Well, the Bible doesn’t teach that. The Bible doesn’t teach that there is a scale or that works would get me in. Yet all the war religions and the counterfeit of Christianity tells us that basically our works will be weighed and if you have enough good works you’ll get in if you don’t, won’t and that is not what the Bible says.

The Bible says salvation is not of works. It’s the gift of God. It’s received by simple faith in trusting Christ as Savior. And once you trust Him, my friend, you’re saved forever. John 3 16 says it yet how many people believe that verse? As somebody once said, it is the most forgotten verse of the Bible in the sense that it’s not understood or not believed. For God so loved the world that you and me that he gave his only begotten son that Jesus Christ, that whosoever believeth, that means to trust in Christ, that you would not perish, but you would have everlasting life.

Have means right now, present tense, you would have everlasting life. You would receive it at the moment you believed and possess it forever thereafter. Amazingly, how many people there are that teach you to lose your salvation. I guess the majority of Christians do because that’s all based on works. You see, if you can lose it, you really are trusting in your works. I’ll never forget many years ago I talked to a young man and I said, where are you going to go when you die?

He said, heaven. I said, how do you know? I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior. Well, I didn’t stop there, but I said, well, what if you don’t read your Bible anymore? What if you don’t go to church anymore? What if you don’t live for the Lord and you backslide and then you die? What would happen to you then? He said, oh, I’d go to hell. I said, you’re not saved. He said, yes, I am. I said, no, you’re not.

He said, yes, I am. I said, no, you’re not. He said, yes, I am. I said, no, you’re not. And I said the reason why is you are trusting in your works for your salvation and he said no I am not. I said yes you are. He said no I am not. I said yes you are. He said no I am not. I said yes you are. And of course I said let me illustrate. Let me see if I got this right.

Are you telling me that if you right now live the Christian life faithfully up until the point that you die that you are going to have it? He says yes that is exactly what I am saying. Are you telling me that if you at some point in your life stop living the Christian life and backslide and die you’d go to hell? Is that what I’m hearing? He said yes, that’s exactly what I believe. I said well guess what, that’s work.

You’re telling me that what you do or what you do not do between now and your death is going to determine your salvation. That’s works. Therefore you’re not saved because salvation according to the Bible is not of works. And you know, he said, that’s heavy, man. And I didn’t see him again until the next day. He saw me the next day and he said, guess what? I said, what? He said… I couldn’t sleep last night. And I, somewhere in the night, realized that you were right.

I was trusting in my life and how I lived my life and the Christian life in order to get me to heaven. And I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior that He alone saves me at the moment I believe on Christ. Well, that was wonderful news, but He says, I’ve got a serious problem. I said, what is your problem? He says, how can I tell my dad? I said, What’s the problem with telling your dad? He says, well, my dad is a preacher and he’s taught me the other way all of my life.

I said, well, what you need to do with your dad is the same thing I did with you. Dad is this what you’re saying that if we live the Christian life, faithfully till the day we died, it will go to heaven. But if somehow we get signed tract and we backslide and we stop living for Christ and die, then we go to hell. Is that what you’re saying, Dad? Dad, if that’s the case, that’s works. And Dad, we’re not saved by work, so therefore we’re not saved.

And you can lead your Dad to Christ, wouldn’t it be great? Well, you know, it’s amazing how many people are trusting in how they’re going to live their life in their future to get them to heaven, and that makes them the Savior not Christ. As long as you’re trusting in what you are going to do, or not going to do, to determine Whether you make heaven or not, my friend, you are the Savior, not Christ, and you are not saved.

You are trusting in your works. You will not go to heaven. And basically everybody that believes that they can lose their salvation believes exactly what I just said. Because if you can lose it, that means something that you will do or not do in your future will determine that. And it says that we just read it. Romans 838 I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor death or any other creation shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

My friend you are saved forever once you trust Christ and nothing can separate you from that salvation. I hope that you’ve trusted Christ and Christ alone. If you haven’t, then you’re not saved. If you believe you can lose it, you’re probably not saved. Think it through, connect the dots. Draw it on paper if you have to. But from this point right now, until you die, are you saying that something in your future will ultimately determine whether you make heaven?

That’s works. The true plan of salvation takes you and points you back to of the cross and the fact that Jesus paid your sin debt in full. And once you trust Him and Him alone, you’re saved forever. Wow. I just got a nice fax yesterday from a fellow that said He was raised in church for all 41 years of His life and just got saved a couple of weeks ago by listening to Bible line. Isn’t that wonderful? Most people.

I mean, that’s malpractice, isn’t it, on the part of the church? How can he be raised in church all his life and never understand how to be saved until two weeks ago by listening to Bible and radio? Well I can understand it because I was 18 years in my church and I never knew how to go to heaven and I don’t think I would have ever found out there in my church. Thank God that I heard the wonderful message of salvation by grace, are you saved through faith and that none of yourselves is the gift of God, none of works.

the state of ancient boston fesians two eight at night i’m dr anglinson and this is by the line said joy to bring the program to you and we are looking for the talking with you we have callers already waiting uh… the phone number is one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one and we have can indicator illinois and uh… can work with the bible on your own Yes, Dr. Anka.

No, I can understand who. I thank you. I thank you, sir. Ken up there in the cater. Actually, he breaks the Bible into lots of little segments, which I believe in dispensations, but he also believes that from Peter to Paul, people were saved by water baptism. I think it’s because they can understand Acts 238, where Peter said repent and be baptized and they take it to be water. I don’t think that verses talking about water at all. Repent means to change your mind.

He preached to the very people had crucified Christ and he told him they made a big mistake. In verse 36 is the conclusion of his message. He says, therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that Christ, which one whom you crucified both Lord, that means he is God, deity, and he is Christ, that means he is the Messiah. They were pricked in their hearts and they said, what should we do? The Greek word is metanoia, which means change your mind.

So what they needed to do there was not turn from sin. There are so many people typically, typically wrongly defined repent. The Greek word means change your mind. They needed to change your mind and realize they made a mistake that they had crucified the Lord of glory and they needed to put their trust in him. Then it says and be baptized. And notice it doesn’t say in water. There are ten different baptisms in the New Testament and most of them are dry.

Don’t involve the liquid at all. There’s the baptism of fire. There’s the baptism of the Holy Spirit and so on and so on that don’t involve any liquid. And it’s saying there be baptized in the name, in the name, in the name. I believe this means and the word baptized simply means to cleanse or to wash. He cleansed or washed of your sin in the name or in the authority that Christ gave, that if you would trust Him as Savior, that He would forgive you.

And of course, if you do, then it says you receive the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. And 1 Corinthians also gives a similar reference where it tells here a long list of things that would exclude anybody from heaven including of course feeling and lies and being covetous and everything else. And we’re all basically included in that list in somewhere in some way if we are unsaved. But then it says in verse 11, which people never read in 1 Corinthians 6, and such were some of you, but you are washed.

And again, that is what it’s talking about here. It says, washed in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. So when you put your trust in Christ, you are washed and you are no longer headed for hell. You’re not in the list that is seen in their sin because they reject the Savior who paid for their sin. They’re safe forever. So basically, I’ll have to go back and look at the website again, but basically he teaches that the Old Testament saints were saved by their offering up sacrifices and keeping the lawn in different segmented times.

And from Peter to Paul, that Paul changed the plan of salvation apparently. So right now, he’s perfectly right on. I would agree 100%. And I think it is a blasphemy to say that Christ didn’t pay for the sins of the whole human race and that people were saved differently in different times in history. Everybody has always been saved the same way. Abraham, Genesis 15, 6, believed the Lord, and of course in the context, believed the Lord about the promise of Christ, the coming seed, and he says that he believed the Lord and it was counted to him for righteousness.

So right now we would be in perfect agreement as far as this age. And he would start it with Paul and end it with a rapture, but he would say works for necessary from Peter to Paul. Man, I disagree with that. Thank you, Kevin or rather, Ken. And we’re now going to Jim in St. Petersburg. Jim, welcome to Bibleline. You are on the air. And you have to turn your radio down because I can hear that in the background, Jim.

Jim in St. Pete, welcome to Bibleline. Well, thank you very much and good morning. Good morning. I have heard you now for the last couple of years, start your program. It’s your thing about the ones saved, I always say, basically. And I’ve never heard you use the scripture that, okay, in Romans that you just read that for by grace are you saved through faith and not of yourselves, it’s not what works. It is a gift of God. Right. That’s the thing.

It holds to eight nine. Okay. also the scripture that says and the gifts and callings of God are without repentance. Oh that’s a wonderful verse. Yes to me it means God can’t take it back and I can’t give it back. There you go. I’m stuck with it as you are so after say it a lot of times. Romans 11 that’s a I love that verse the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. The Greek word there is a metamilo toss which means irrevocable God cannot change his mind about what he is given and take it back.

And once you trust Christ, as I always say, you’re stuck. And I love that one too. That’s a good one. Well, thank you for pointing that out. And our listeners ought to look that one up. It’s Romans 11 verse 29, the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. And salvation is the gift of God. And once he gives it, he can’t take it back. The Greek a method of health means irrevocable without a change of mind. God cannot change his mind concerning your salvation.

All right. Listen forever. Amen. God bless you and have a great day now. You too. All right. That was Jim and Saint Pete and absolutely right on Kevin in Tampa, Florida. Kevin, welcome to Bibleline your own there. Hey, Dr. Hank, I just have a quick question for you. Over in Psalms 110 and I think the verses seven. It talks about a brook in the way and the Lord lifted his head. I just wondered if you could do Somehow we get cut off.

Hold on. Are you there? We lost him. And I need to get that call back because that Psalm 110, I think is what you said and I’m turning there and I’m not too sure that we have the correct Psalm. Psalm 110. I’m almost there right now, but I don’t believe we’re on the same page because there’s only six verses in the first Psalm, so I can’t find verse 10. So it must be a different Psalm and we need to get you back to find out what that is all about.

Anyway, in the meantime, we’re going to go to Bruce and Tampa. Bruce, welcome to Bible In Your On The Air. Hey, Dr. Lewis, how are you today? Good. I was talking to my wife the other day about the rapture and the age of accountability and her concern or misunderstanding in. She’s under the belief that if children of unbelievers have not reached the age of accountability, that they would be raptured out. And I was trying to explain to her what would be the reasoning in that at all.

I mean, in other words, it’s like, brief, like. And is it true or is it not true that the sanctioning of the believing with sanction a child that had not reached the age of account of… Of course, I know it’s going… Maybe you could kind of clear that up a little bit. All right. Well, this is the question I hate to always answer because I believe in both cases the child under the age of accountability should they die would go to heaven because they haven’t reached the age where they can make the choice.

But I don’t believe that at the rapture it’s an evacuation of children. It’s an evacuation of those that have come of age to trust Christ as a Savior. And so I don’t think children are involved in this at all except those that are above the age of accountability and have received Jesus Christ as their Savior. But it’s true if children are to be raptured under the age of accountability, then every child on the earth would disappear. And I believe that that is not what’s going to happen.

Life will continue on. If you read in Matthew about the tribulation period, it says they’ll be marrying and buying and selling and eating and drinking right up until the day that Christ returns just as as they did in the day. He is a woman of Noah and there all the children perished and those of course were under the age of accountability when they drowned went right to be with the Lord. Obviously aborted children go right to be with the Lord.

That is the blessing in all of this thing with abortion but definitely they’re saved upon death but I don’t believe it will be in the rapture and that’s not popular. I don’t like to say it because I have a 14-month-old granddaughter and I don’t like the prospect of the fact that I have to say that. But I believe God is going to do right. I love Genesis 1825 which I often quote, shall not the God of all the earth do right.

And there it’s in the context of God destroying the people in Sodom and he destroyed them all. Children of all ages and everybody there except for a lot is wife and the two daughters that escape and of course the children had died under the age of accountability and solemn went right to heaven. So there will be believers in heaven, children that were under the age of accountability that were killed there. We have to go to break. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and we’ll be right back for a second half of Bible light.

Stay tuned. We’ll be right back. Don’t go away. Bible light will be back in a Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englund Sherman. It’s great to be with you. And last Sunday we had a family all the way in Sweden apparently that we’re watching in. Alright we appreciate all of you and I want to thank you for your prayers for Bible and we come at your prayers every day and of course if you could help us financially that would be wonderful if you just gave a dollar a day that would really help us if every believer that’s listening to Bible and would give a dollar a day we would be able to handle all of our expenses and even expand outward and if you just gave a dollar for every program you listened to well that would be great would you consider being a monthly contributor to Bible and we’re not trying to get your money.

We don’t pay any salaries. Nobody’s benefiting. We are really out to get the gospel out and it goes out to pay for all the stations and the expenses that we have to get us out on the air. It’s expensive and we need your help. We’re going to go back now to do Bible and Part 2. So stay tuned. We’ll be right back. Would you like to call Bible and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and and dial 1-800-576-3771.

That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Right, we’re back from that break, and this is Bible. It’s great to be with you. And we somehow lost Bruce earlier. And far, I think that was something that we did, Bruce. It was a year-fall. But let me go back and find that Psalm you were talking about. I think it was one pen and I guess I had the verse wrong. I believe it’s the last verse in the chapter. Okay, I’ll back to Psalm 1 then because there’s only six verses there and I said, where are you in the chapter?

And so let me try one more time. I’m heading back to you know, and I just figured it was a different Psalm and not the first one. 1. And verse 6, I’m almost there, Psalm 1 and turning pages, it takes time here. Here we go. Verse 6 says, for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Is that the verse? I don’t think so. What the verse is, and I’m sorry, I don’t have my Bible in front of me, it talks about a brook in the way and then the Lord lifted his head up and I wondered what that brook was whether or not it was literal or referring to.

Well, I’m at a loss. There’s nothing in the first song that would even get close to that. So you’re going to have to come back at me. OK, I’ll hang up and I’ll try to find it and give you another call. All right. Thank you, Bruce. Thank you. And that was Bruce. And we now have Kevin in Tampa. And Kevin, let’s see. I don’t know if we have Kevin or not. I’m confused now. But anyway, we want to thank you for tuning in to Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church and we always welcome you to come by during the week and visit our Resource Center.

If you’re out of town, you can go to the internet and you can see all the things on our internet that have all the resources that we have in our Resource Center. Go to BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the online bookstore, and there you will find all of our resources, including books and tracks and Bibles and CDs and DVDs of my teachings. I think you’ll find it a wonderful adventure for you, and I hope you’ll take advantage of all the things that we have on our website, including a place to memorize scripture.

have flashcards and you can take the selected verses that we have for you to memorize or you can pick out whatever verses or passages you’d like to memorize and and you can do it in a flashcard format. It’ll show you the verse and then you click and it’ll show you the address and you can recite that out loud in front of your computer and say Romans 323 and then hit the flip It will turn it over and it will say for all of sin and it will come short of the glory of God and it will flip again and it will go back to Romans 3 23 and it will flip and it will say for all of sin and as you keep reviewing you will find out really is helpful in learning the Bible.

And we are of course glad to be in the year 2007 and it is exciting to be alive and watching the events that the Bible foretells that a lot of them are happening right now. We believe Christ is returning soon and we hope that you are watching for the return of Christ. We certainly also want to thank all of you who pray for Bibleline and also all of you that give the Bibleline. Your faithful support is what keeps us on the air and we could not continue really without your gifts.

We don’t pay any salaries. I don’t get a salary. We do pay for all the equipment costs and phone lines and the equipment and the radio stations and TV stations that cost money to be on. It costs a lot of money. So we could use your help and I hate to talk about money, but God wants you to partner with us, I’m sure, because then you benefit with us. I believe you’ll share equally with us whatever rewards come from this program.

We’ll be shared by you as one who partners with us in this venture I think the Bible teaches that very clearly in the Old Testament when the Israeli army went out to war There were those who had to stay home to watch the children and care for the fields and the flocks and and Care for the things that went on at home When the army came back with a spoil of the war if they won It was divided equally with those that stayed behind as well as with those that actually went out and endangered their life in the war.

So I think you’ll share with those of us here at Bibleline equally in the rewards of what this program is producing. So whenever you participate and give and pray for Bibleline, you’re going to be reaping the results of all of that. And we do pray that you will continue to pray for us, and if you can give it to be great. Even if you give a dollar a day, or maybe just a dollar per program you listen to. Boy, if every listener would do that, we would probably be in great shape.

We have. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers and for your support of Bibleline. I can’t thank you enough. We now have Carl in Tampa, Florida and Carl welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yes, I like the two-part question. The first question is what language did the Corinthians speak in? That was… That was Greek because Corinth is in Greece. I’ve been there many times. It’s a city not too far from Athens. Okay, and the second question is, what languages, which was far languages, the gift of tongues, was being spoken to them when they were…

When they were in the issues and again. That we don’t know because it doesn’t tell us. It just simply tells us that they were speaking in tongues unknown to the Krinian believers. But they were known languages but simply not the Greek language that the Krinian believers would have understood. So it doesn’t tell us. We’d have to wait until we get the heaven to find out. And I’m sure there are probably lots of different ones that they were using. Right, and that’s why I made sure I finished.

Exactly, you got it right on. Thank you. Alright, that was Carl in Tampa, Florida calling in. And the gift of tongues was to speak a known foreign language without training. And it actually the Greek word in Acts is dialectos. That means a specific dialect. So it wasn’t a gibberish that’s being done today. Nobody today on the planet is speaking in tongues. We have an incredible book here called New Testament TQ and Tons by Merle Unger. You might want to get that.

Also, I have several CDs on tongues going over Acts and 1 Corinthians 12, 13, and 14. I think you’ll find it very enlightening. might want to call our operators and order the CD on tons or the book New Testament Teach You on Tons by Merle Unger. We have Rachel in Tampa, Florida. Rachel, welcome to Bibleline the end. I have a question. My question is if a husband and wife are married and they get a divorce, are they considered committing adultery if they remarry again?

All right, that’s a good question. And the The Bible of course says that there is a valid reason for divorce if you read Matthew 19 if there is unfaithfulness in a part of one of the partners, the innocent party is free to divorce and to remarry. And that word fornication there comes from the Greek word Pornia from which we get our word pornography from. means any type of sexual uncleanness. And I know a young lady, a number of years ago, that she came home and found her husband in bed with another man.

And she was free to divorce and remarry. And of course, obviously that just really was so damaging to her to see that and how he had betrayed their marriage in that way. So there are other forms, incest and other things. Also, the uncleanness or the fornication the Bible talks about uses the word uncleanness back in Deuteronomy where it tells about that Moses allowed for a writing of divorcement, for uncleanness and it had to do with sexual uncleanness. Then of course you’re welcome to remarry and there’s no problem at all.

What if none of those things apply? It’s just your husband, he just don’t want to be with you and he wants a divorce. I mean, is the wife free to marry him? Well, you know, I think in Corinthians it says that if the husband just departs or completely abandon the marriage, obviously he doesn’t want to be with you anymore. He just leaves, he divorces and you’re abandoned. There’s not much you can do about that, obviously. become the victim and I think in that case in 1 Corinthians 7 I think this verse, let me see what verse it is I’m turning over there now, but it says their person is not in bondage in that case if your spouse just abandons the marriage and it says here let’s see.

It’s between verse 17 and 22. And I think it is. I’m missing the verse here, but it’s right in that section of chapter 7 of 1 Corinthians. Take a look there and I think you’ll… It says in verse 15, that’s the verse so that you would be free if the husband abandons you. Abandons and marriage walks out on it. You’re free. Okay, thank you. All right, Rachel. And those are painful situations and certainly you’ll be in our prayers. God doesn’t like divorce.

He never intended for divorce. Because of the sinfulness of the sin. of man and wanting to have their own desires many times divorce occurs and I believe God knows your heart and if you are the innocent part of your I think free if the marriage is abandoned or if there is sexual uncleanness in your in your partner we now have Dr. Anonymous and welcome to Bibleline you’re on the I did a lot of that. Good. What’s going on? Listen, this individual they call, he wanted this scripture.

He kept saying, far in one ten. That’s one in ten strong and then seven burst. Oh boy, you’re an expert there. I’ll have to go. I’ll mess with you later. Okay. You’ll mess with me later. Okay. Dr. Anonymous, let me see what that verse is. If he’s got it right, I’m not too sure what that Bruce called back. Confirm but some 110 or 7 he showed drink of the Brooke in the way Therefore so he lift up the head and Perhaps Because when you drink in a refreshed you’re able to go and renew strength I’m not too sure I’ll have to think of the verse more carefully, but I think this is the one.

Thank you dr Anonymous for coming through Alright, in fact several others are calling in giving the reference there to, I think it was Bruce that gave us that question and we got the verse there. So thank you, thank you. Alright, well by the lines phone number here is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771, and We now have Rich down in Bradenton, Florida, and Rich, whoop, I have a tile-tone on that line, so apparently that’s not Rich, and maybe he’ll call back. Somehow we have lost a couple calls.

But keep trying, and we’ll get you in here. 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. 7-1 all right we’ll try it again here and Rich from Bradenton welcome to Bibleline Hello good morning. How are you today good? I was at Baptist Church like 95% of music Well, you know when you read Acts chapter 2 if you just read that what happened to Pentecost? 3000 people get saved and immediately following it says they continue to fastly not in music but or praise and worship, but they continued the Apostles doctrine in the breaking of bread, in fellowship and witnessing and so on, and prayer.

So I don’t see it in the New Testament, and I think today we’re entertaining people rather than teaching them God’s Word. And I think the essential factor in the believers coming together on the first day of the week as you read in the book of Acts was they came together to study the Word of God and to grow and learn and go out and preach that message to the lost in the world. Two and a half hours of bouncing around is more like an aerobics class, it sounds like to me.

Yeah, I thought it was too much because I didn’t hear much of it. And then also they went into these really long prayers too, you know just babbling on, you know Thank you for this. Thank you for that. Thank you for my trees and my lawn, you know And I just thought that was kind of ridiculous too Well, I think Christianity is getting more shallow by the day, and the Bible tells us that it would not endure sound doctrine.

And I think that’s what’s happening today. It’s driven by, I think, just the secular world as well, that we want to be entertained. And you see that in Hollywood or Hollywood and on television. They don’t give you. They just tried to take it to your ears and there’s not much substance left in the church today, and that’s a sad commentary. In fact, we just got the facts I read this morning where our fellow said he’s raised…he’s 41 years of age, raised in church all of his life.

God saved just a couple of weeks ago by listening to Bibleline. Well, to me, that’s malpractice on the part of his church or churches that he’s attended that he could go 41 years faithfully, think he was saved, and not even know how to be saved because the church failed him in that area. That’s too bad. That is the basics. And how can a church allow you to attend 41 years and not get you saved? Yeah, it is sad, isn’t it?

It is sad. And that’s more common than people realize, but a lot of people have been in church almost a lifetime and never heard how to go to heaven. Well listen, thank you for your call Rich and I don’t know what to tell you except look for a sound Bible believing teaching church that’s willing to take the stand on the word. Well, I found one that was your church but it’s up in Tampa 55 miles from my house. Wow, that’s a good hike.

So we do come to you like on the resurrection day. I can’t do that every week. No, I’m sure you can’t but I will be praying for it. I certainly hope someone there will open a church up like that or that you can find one that’s there and you haven’t discovered yet. But also you can watch our morning service on the Internet. Yes, I know. That’s great. Yes. Well, thank you, Rich, for calling in. I wish I had a solution.

Okay. Well, I’ll just keep trying. Alright. Thank you. Thank you very much. We have Sandy in Tampa, Florida. Sandy, welcome to my lecture on there. I’m confused about this Old Testament sacrifice of animal for remission of sin. Why did they do that? Is that not considered work? It is. And they were never saved by doing that. If you look at Hebrews 10 and 4, it says it is not possible. That means it’s impossible. the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.

So it tells us that they never could take away anybody’s sin. And they were a picture, a reminder of what God would do through Christ, that Christ would come and shed his blood. But there’s no one who ever had their sins forgiven by offering an animal sacrifice. It was all a picture. But when Jesus died and went to paradise, He took Abraham, He closed up paradise because the animal blood covered their sin. Well that’s not really true. How do you went down there to preach?

Isn’t that what he did? Yes he did. And he went down there to preach not to preach salvation to them, but to preach that he had gotten the victory over Satan and defeated him and had made the full payment for their sins. And now they were eligible to enter heaven because they had the promise of salvation, but couldn’t actually receive it because sin had not have been paid for but nobody’s ever saved by an old testament blood sacrifice. You mean during life’s work on the earth?

His first advent was not to come set up his kingdom, no one ahead of time because he’s God that they would not receive him that he would go the cross but he played it out? That’s correct. He went to the cross and died for as the Lamb of God. He was the Lamb. I know that all the other lambs had pointed to and God in his foreknowledge knew that Israel would reject them But he bona fidely offered it to them and upon the rejection of him Of course he went across and purchased our salvation And now that kingdom has been postponed and and will become a reality when Jesus comes the second time Which I believe is getting pretty close but all those were a a reminder of what Christ would do.

In fact, if you read Hebrews chapter 10, it says, in those sacrifices, there was a remembrance made. And it was a remembrance that there were sinners in need of a Savior, that the Savior would have to be innocent or sinless as the animal was innocent or sinless as the picture, and that the blood of that animal had to be shed as Christ had to die and shed his blood and of course that the in the case of Adam and Eve the coat of that animal made a covering for Adam and Eve which is a picture of the garment of salvation that we receive which is the righteousness of Christ that is called a robe of righteousness and Isaiah 61 that the believer receives based upon Christ substance is there death so he was innocent and He was slain, his blood was shed, and his righteousness becomes our covering.

And on that basis we either have it. Now they had the promise of that, but it didn’t become a reality till Christ actually died. So they got saved by the fact that Abraham, they just believed that Christ is the Son of God. Like Peter said, you’re the Son of God, loving God, living God. Absolutely. And when they were saved, not by work. That’s correct. And if you read Acts 10, 43, Peter says to Jesus or he was saved. through Yeshua, give all the prophets witness, that’s all the Old Testament writers, that through His name Jesus or in Hebrew Yeshua, that whosoever believeth in Him, Jesus or Yeshua shall receive remission of sins.

So Acts 1043, Peter sweeps the whole little testament, one verse tells us that everybody was saved as the prophets gave witness that it was through believing in His name that they would be saved. Okay. Well, that’s my consent. Good. Okay, thank you so much. You’re welcome Sandy in Tampa, Florida. And we have Everett in Richmond, Virginia. Everett, welcome to Beimah and you’re on the air. How you doing, Dr. Hank? Good. I just have a question about the book of Matthew chapter 14 verse 22 to 33 and also the book of Mark chapter 6 verse 45 to 52 is speaking about Jesus.

Jesus walking on the water and then saying to me the Bible said not it is I I was reading that the Greek literally says please not I am is that true? It probably is. He is God. And of course, this demonstrates the fact that he’s God. Men can’t walk in the water. But God could obviously levitate over the water and dead. And so he is one of the evidences that he’s got. The fact that he can raise the dead forgives him, multiply the loaves and the fishes.

All of these were evidences of the fact that he was God. And I think that’s one of them, the fact that he could rebuke the storm. Probably Satan could cause that storm. I think Satan won the ground and the apostles in Christ out there on the sea, but Christ was able to rebuke that storm and then he was able to walk on the water. He has control over all of creation and all of nature. Why would the English… You know, it’s amazing what they do with some of the translations today, and I don’t know if you read even the King James or not, but a lot of them get it wrong.

They are very, very loose or not careful about, in other words they somewhat paraphrase or and they don’t see the meaning, they don’t believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God so they don’t really care about being accurate and I think that’s the problem. Now this particular word that I was speaking about is, I haven’t seen it in any Bible, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I think it is as clearly his deity that is in focus that’s the call from Richmond Virginia and welcome of course to Bible and every time we have Duane in Tampa, Florida and Duane welcome to Bible and you’re on the air.

How you doing up, eh? Good. Hey, I wanted to I don’t want you to name them but go ahead and the particular denominations you mean? I denominations okay but I always three denominations that they They believe the same, but I don’t agree with them. The churches of God in Christ, the apostolic churches, and the penal constant churches. They all believe that… Well, obviously we do receive the Holy Spirit when we trust Christ and that is true in the sense that if you are a believer you receive the Holy Spirit, it is one of many consequences that occur when you trust Christ.

The Bible says every believer receives the Holy Spirit to indwell our bodies which become God’s temple. So if you’re a believer, you’re going to receive the Holy Spirit. But the speaking in tongues, it’s over. That was a temporary gift. And you only find it three times in the book of Acts, and then it just goes off the scene. And you find it only in 1 Corinthians as far as the rest of the New Testament, because it was one of the earlier written books, and it was still operative at that time, but it went off the scene as well.

But if you hold them to the fire as to what the Bible says, what they’re doing is not the biblical gift. What is being done today is a gibberish. It’s not the biblical gift at all. It’s scary today when we have a lot of things going on that are not biblical. We have a lot more callers sitting on there wanting to get on them. We’re out of time. A lot of offer questions. I haven’t been able to get to yet, but we’ll come back at all of this again tomorrow.

If you haven’t trusted Christ yet, you need to just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. And we all are, but I trust Jesus Christ right now is my only hope of heaven. I trust Jesus Christ that he died and said his blood was buried and rose again. again from that in the moment you do. God up in heaven saves you. And I pray that you do that. Then make that second decision to serve him. That’s where rewards come in and God’s blessings.
