But visit our website we have our online book store there and you can look at almost everything we have available and we hope that you’ll take advantage of that and take a look at what we’ve got in there.

We’ve got several wonderful things that can help you. I like the Jameson Foset Brown commentary, a three-volume unabridged commentary that covers something on every verse in the Bible. What a treat. I go to it often and find out it has exactly what I’m looking for. Would you maybe consider getting that for your library? It retails for about 140. We have it for a gift of 90. We also have the Jay Vernon McGee commentary. Retails for about 200. We have it for a gift of 105 volumes that covers something on every chapter of the Bible.

the two of them, you’ll get a pretty good coverage on every chapter and every verse of the Bible. That’s the Jameson Faucet Brown, five volume commentary, retails for two and we have it for a gift of a hundred, the Bibleline. We also have the Jameson Faucet Brown three volume unabridged commentary for a gift of $90.00. It retails for about 140. We also have the Zondervin pictorial Bible dictionary. That’s a wonderful one. I like pictures. I don’t know about you, but we have that available.

Plus we have the Zondervin pictorial encyclopedia. We are letting that go for a hundred and a quarter and it is seven-minute retails for I think near $200. That is beautiful. Lots of pictures. That’s what I like. The Zonervan pictorial Bible dictionary, five huge volumes and that is a wonderful asset to your library plus the Zonervan pictorial Bible dictionary which is a a wonderful asset to have in your library. We’ve got lots of things and we hope you’ll take advantage of what we’ve got plus the CDs, DVDs of my teachings and we just hear of people all the time.

One fellow had a Bible study or has a Bible study in his home and it has grown to the place where he had to build another complete room on his home to house the people coming and what they do is they take my CDs and play a CD and have discussion and refreshments and it facilitates the whole Bible study. That’s exciting. This is Bible and I’m Dr. Englundstrom and we’re coming to you live out of Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church.

We’re on the pastor. We’re going to be taking off-air questions and on-air questions. If you have a question you could call us at 1-800-576-3771 1-800-576-3771. You know the believer has a second nature, a new nature we call it, which is sinless and not capable of sinning. And we have an old nature that is sinful, that we’ve inherited from Adam, and these These two are in conflict with one another, and it creates a warfare within us as a believer. It says in Galatians 5, 17, for the flesh lusteth against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh.

And these are contrary to one to the other so that you cannot do the things that you would. Wow that sums it up doesn’t it? the flesh nature, which we have inherited from Adam, the natural birth gives us that flesh nature. Then we have the spirit nature, which occurs when you become born again. They are in conflict with one another. The one you choose to serve or obey is the one that wins out. Like the one fellow said, I have two dogs in me, I have a good dog, and I have a bad dog, and the one I say sick him to wins.

It’s really stated different ways in the Bible. In Ephesians it’s interesting in chapter 4 of Ephesians it says here that if you have been sought, if you, if so be that you have heard him and have been taught by him and the truth is in Jesus that you put off concerning the former manor behavior, the old man which is corrupt according to the deceitful lust. So here it talks about that we like a garment, we would put this one often and not use it or not obey it or not follow it.

And that is here the old nature called here the old man, the same as the flesh nature that Galatians 5, 17 just spoke about. And it says here that this old man which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. This is a corrupt nature that we have inherited from Adam. And then it says here, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, verse 24 of Ephesians 4 says, and that you put on the new man, which after God has created in righteousness and true holiness.

So here we have a nature notice that is created after God in righteousness and true holiness. This is a sinless nature, a perfect nature, one that is not capable of sinning. And the Bible says in a sense that we put this coat on, this new nature, and allow it to be the dominant nature in our life. As Galatians says, these are at warfare with one another. The flesh, Relations 517, lusteth against the Spirit. That’s the flesh nature against the new birth, the Spirit nature, and the Spirit against the flesh.

These are contrary, it says in Relations 517. The ones of the other so that you cannot do the things that you would. We have a conflict all the time where our old nature, for example, you get up on Sunday morning and it’s a rainy day and And you have been out late on Saturday and you’re kind of tired and it’s time to get up and go to church on Sunday morning. And your old nature says, hey, you deserve a break today.

Why don’t you just stay here and bed and pull that blanket up over your head and curl up and go back to sleep. That’s the old nature. The new nature says, hey, we need to be in church. We need to obey the Word of God. We need to do what God says, and we’re not to forsake the assembly of ourselves together as the manner of some is. But we are to obviously come together with other believers and be spiritually lifted up and encouraged.

And so there’s a battle going on. The old nature wants to stay in bed, and the new nature wants to get up and go to church and you have to choose which nature you’re going to follow. And that’s a struggle every Christian has. You know when you sit down and you want to read the Bible, the new nature says, you know we need to get into the Bible on a regular basis. And at the same time somebody calls up and says, hey, let’s go out and shop or party or do something else.

Well, obviously the old nature is going to be appealed to by that and perhaps you will overrule the new nature that says, no, you had intended to stay home and read your Bible tonight. And it looks like that’s out the window because the flesh nature wins out. We have to choose and say no to the old nature, say yes to the new nature. And I think the Christian life has really summed up the answer, the key, the secret to being victorious in the Christian life is in verse 16 of Galatians 5.

It says, This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. But walk in the Spirit. That’s the Spirit nature. Walk it obedience to what the new nature would have you to do. And then it says you’ll not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Because the lust of the flesh, the old nature is still there until the day you die. You’re not going to get rid of the old nature till death.

In the meantime it’s always there, but you don’t have to fulfill its lust. You need to obviously walk in the Spirit, and you’ll enjoy as a result, the Bible says in verse 22 of Galatians 5, the fruit of the Spirit as your obedient to the Spirit nature. The fruit of the Spirit is love, and joy, and peace, and long-suffering, and gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law. the believer if you want those kinds of things in your life.

You want love in your life, joy in your life, peace in your life, long suffering in your life, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. That comes by yielding to the new nature. I’m Dr. Anglinschroom. This is Bibleline. It’s exciting to be with you. And we’re going to be turning to the phone lines now and if you have a call or if you have a question you can call in and get up on the air with us as we will take callers.

We also invite you to leave an off air question if you would like and we’ll be able to answer that question hopefully on the air today as well. And so I hope you’ll give us a call here. The number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We have Catherine in New York calling in and she says, what is the difference between the indwelling and the filling of the Holy Spirit? Good question, Catherine, and that is the indwelling is where Christ or the Holy Spirit comes to indwell your body, it becomes God’s temple, and you are permanently in dwelt with this Holy Spirit or the Spirit of God from the moment you believe.

Every believer receives the Holy Spirit at the moment of belief. If you don’t have the Holy Spirit, you are not saved. Romans 8-9 says, if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. So when he comes in and indwells your body, you receive 100% of the Holy Spirit. He doesn’t get divided up and you get half the Holy Spirit or three quarters of the Holy Spirit. You get all the Holy Spirit. But the filling of the Holy Spirit has to do with how much of the Holy Spirit he has, how much control he has over you.

And so the filling has to do with to what degree you yield yourself to obey the Lord and to to the degree that you yield yourself to that degree, you are controlled or filled. A person who is drunk is under the influence or under the control of the alcohol. in his excess but be with the Holy Spirit. There we find the filling of the Holy Spirit being contrasted with getting drunk. A person who is drunk is under the influence or under the control of the alcohol.

And so the Bible says don’t do that. We’re forbidden to become drunk. The Bible says be controlled or filled. filled with the Holy Spirit, and that’s a command. And so every believer is to, as we said before, yield to the new nature and obey the Spirit of God and to that degree that you yield or obey the Holy Spirit to that degree you are filled with the Holy Spirit. So that is dependent upon us. The indwelling is another ballgame.

where the Holy Spirit involves your body forever and that happens at the moment of belief and the Holy Spirit will never leave you. All right, we have a question about tattoos from Sandra in San Notoga Springs and she wants to know about piercing and tattoos. Leviticus 19 28 says that you’re not to print any marks on your body. Now if you’ve already got them there there’s not a whole lot you can do. I guess you could have them removed quite expensive and probably not really that effective to get rid of them altogether.

But the Bible says that you’re not to print any marks on your body. I think apparently God is saying that He made your body and that your body is a believer especially becomes his temple and to draw on it or make marks on it is to put graffiti on God’s house. Can you imagine if somebody came down to your house at night and painted the outside with all kinds of pictures, you’d be irate. You’d have to repaint your house.

And God is saying the same thing. Don’t graffiti your body, which is God’s house. He He has purchased you and you belong to him. He doesn’t want you to do that. So we’re not also to make any cuttings in our flesh, any body piercings. I think that those things are wrong. We’re not going to file this body that God has given to us. That’s Leviticus 1928. Look it up for yourself. She says, what about donating blood? Is that piercing?

And no, I don’t believe so because it’s not a permanent piercing. The type of piercing we’re talking about is where people have nose rings and ear rings. And sometimes they put them now in their eyebrows and through their lips and everything else. And those things are where you really make a hole in your tongue or something else. those kind of piercings I think are the kind that are forbidden. The Bible says in Matthew 22, this is Joyce now calling in from Charlotte Bill New York, she says in Matthew 22, how did you get in without the wedding clothes?

How did they get in and why were they thrown out of his plane? It’s just a parable of how nobody without a wedding garment will enter into the wedding ceremony. This is talking about the future, it’s talking about the Second Coming of Christ, it’s talking about the millennium, it’s talking about the thousand years, it will be a thousand year celebration of the marriage of Christ to the bride which is the church, the body of believers of this present age from Pentecost to La Rapture.

When the Tribulation Period is over, those that are invited in to celebrate for that thousand years are believers only. And so the fellow that didn’t have the wedding garment, it’s a picture of the fact that he didn’t have salvation, only believers are invited in. So basically what we’re saying here is that the Rapture, everybody that’s saved is caught up to meet the Lord in the air and are forever with the Lord. Left behind are all the unbelievers. But seven years later, the opposite takes place.

All unbelievers are taken and killed and destroyed, and only believers are left to live into the thousand-year earthly reign of Christ. And so at the end of the tribulation period, the parable here is that this fellow He was not an invited guest and it’s pictured by the fact that he didn’t wear the wedding garment that would legitimize his coming in. That speaks of the righteousness of Christ that’s credited to the account of every believer. So Joyce, I hope that helps.

And it looks like Joyce leaves another question here from Charlotte. Bill New York and Joy says in Matthew 24 learn from the fig tree the fig tree represents Israel What do you think about this? Well, it’s a beautiful picture of how that Israel has been in this favor with John for two thousand years That just before Christ went to the cross He cursed in Matthew 21 a fig tree and said let no fruit grow on you for an age And so Israel was going to become dormant and be set aside for the past 2,000 years.

But then Jesus says, when the fig tree begins to put forth leaves and sprouts forth branches, that you could know the coming of Christ is near. We believe we see that happening today. The Jewish people for the first time in 2,000 years are back in the land and have become a nation as of May 14, 1948. So we are living in that time when Christ will return, and Jesus said, this generation shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled.

So apparently the generation living today will still be around to see Jesus coming back because we are living in that generation when Israel is back in their land of become a nation again. Elaine in the land Florida calls in and she says why are there so many translations of the Bible such as the NIV the New King James Bible the message Bible and so on and so on Well, it’s the publishers and guess what in order to copyright they have to come up with their own Bible and Apparently in order for them to get a copyright they have to change change 10% of the Bible.

So in other words, they have to make enough changes in the Bible to qualify for a copyright and that’s why they’re changing it. It’s not for your benefit, it’s not for my benefit, it’s not to make the Bible clearer or to be better understood, it’s to make money. So they have to make changes, 10% changes in order to qualify for a copyright on a different form of Bible. And so that’s the problem and that’s where we are going today.

It’s all about every publisher wanting to have their own copyright on their own edition of the Bible. And if you notice and you pick up all these Bibles, you can see each one has a different publisher. And each one of those has those rights by copyright that nobody else can print that particular edition of the Bible. Then they all buy for the market and try to get as many people to buy their particular Bible saying it’s the best. When obviously whenever you change 10%, they’re not going to be better, they’re going to be worse.

That’s just the bottom line on what’s going on today in the commercialism that’s affecting Christianity and our Bible at this very, very hour. We have Sam in Lakeland, Florida, and Sam, welcome to Bibleline Your Honor. I enjoy your program and everything. I didn’t get to come in on something. Listen, a lot of people was talking about losing the salvation. And they were talking about, in the Old Testament, they were the Lord fault men. When women did Rome, they most of the men were in sin, but God fault the man.

So when a Christian gets saved and the devil is received the woman, but she only come in to sin when Adam walked into it and sinned. So when a person gets saved, then how the spirit in them, they obey the spirit. And the flesh still can be deceived where he can sin. So the flesh, the God to this flesh is stiff as rain. So if he didn’t come to redeem the flesh on the spirit, because the flesh, he said it fleshed its sin, she should have to die.

So the flesh have to die. Then the spirit, when the flesh die, the spirit will have to be lost at the end of the time. So therefore, his flesh was never redeemed, and he saw like the woman. And the Old Testament, when God departed the man, it took the blame on the woman, gave it the place on the man. Well, Sam, Sam, that really sounds good, but you know, Romans 8 tells us that a part of our redemption is the redemption of the body.

That when Christ comes back, it says that the whole earth groans and travails. because of the curse that have Adam sin until now and not only they but ourselves also which have the first fruits of the spirit but it says even we ourselves grown within ourselves waiting for the adoption to wit or that is to say the redemption of our body. In other words, our body. Our body is redeemed as well. body but that will happen when Jesus returns and our body is also redeemed.

Thank you very much Sam and that verses in Romans chapter 8 verse 23 where the Bible talks about the redemption of the body as well as our soul and spirit. Okay, if you want to call the numbers 1-800-5-763771 and we’ll probably have to take your call when we get back from the break, we’re up on that break time. If you trusted Christ as your Savior, if you haven’t, there’s no better time than right now. You need to put your trust in Christ and you can do it by just saying, Lord, I am a sinner.

But right now I put my trust in Jesus Christ accepting and believing that He is God who came and took on human flesh. I trust that he died and shed his blood to pay my sin debt and fold the cross, was buried and rose again from the dead. The moment you trust him, God saves you and you become saved forever and ever and ever. By the way, if you’re in the Tampa Bay area, come on out and see us tonight.

A lot of people enjoy the Sunday messages and I had somebody just tell me this weekend that they like to watch them or listen to them again and again because they say they learn something new every time they listen. not wonderful. That’s kind of like the Bible because when we teach the Bible, our understanding seems to be opened up by the Lord as time goes along and we will see new things from passages we’ve read many times before.

Again, we want you to know if you’re in the Tampa Bay area, you can come visit us during our worship services and that will be on Wednesday and Sundays in the morning and the evening and we have a dinner on the third Sunday so it’s a great Sunday to come and visit with us. So please join us if your station doesn’t carry it tall but ask them if they can free up that second half hour so we can get the full hour on your station.

but also you can go to the internet and catch the full hour of Bibleline. We’re going to be right back now doing Bibleline 2. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline line and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church in Tampa.

Boy, we’d sure love to meet you and I hope someday we’ll get to do that. If not here, we’ll meet in the air. That’s right. If you’re a believer, we’re all going to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air at the Rapture and I’m going to be giving people high fives everywhere. It’s going to be fun. When we are caught up and while our future then will be just incredible. What things that we haven’t even imagined that we’re going to be able to do in our new bodies and in our new environment, living in the New Jerusalem and living in the presence of God, it’s going to be wonderful, it’s going to be exciting, nothing like it.

Anyway, if you’re a believer, then we’re going to be together forever and we’ll get to see each other forever, but if you get a chance, in the meantime, we’d love to have you come by and say hi. If you’re out of state and you come into Florida for whatever reason, for business or pleasure, please come by and see us. We’re so easy to find. Once you get off that airplane, we’re on the west of the airport here in Tampa, just a block west of the main north south runway, and it just takes a couple of minutes from the airport to get to us.

So if you are looking for us, look for Tampa International Airport, when you find it, get on the west side, and there we are, one block west of the main road that runs north and south that borders the airport on the west. And so we’re on George Road, a block west of the main perimeter road on the west of the airport running north and south, right next to the beginning of the Veterans Expressway. Hopefully that’ll help you get a picture.

So if you get our website and you go to how to find us, we’ve got it all set up with our address there, just type in your address and hit go. It will print out directions for you to get here. 1, 2, 3, boom, boom, boom. And you’ll love it. Plus it will give you a map to print out and you’ll easily find us and we hope you do. This Sunday would be a great Sunday to come by because we’re having a dinner.

The third Sunday of every month is a dinner Sunday. Everybody cooks their best home cooked food and we’re just going to eat and enjoy. And what a great time to get together with other believers who believe just like you and enjoy the food and fellowship. We have on Sunday a worship service at 1030. I teach one of the adult classes at 915. You’re welcome to join that class. Put your kids in the Sunday school and also at 1030 join the worship service.

And then right after the service is over, we head to the educational building and sit down for a wonderful meal. You’re invited to be my guest. Bring your friends, bring your appetite, bring your family, bring your Bible, and come on out and visit us this weekend. I hope that you’re familiar with our website, BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. It’s an opportunity for you to be able to catch our radio programs and television programs around the clock. You can catch our Sunday worship services that we webcast out on the website.

You can also call our operators and sign up for the class on teaching called Jesus is coming and be able to watch that any time of day and enjoy the teaching. And by the way, classes are tonight. And so if you want to come by, that’s from seven till nine, if you’re in the area, please drive on out and sit in through the live classroom. Nothing like that at all. It’s a difference when you’re in the presence of other believers as we study the Bible together about this exciting doctrine.

Jesus is coming. By the way, we have some wonderful things in our Resource Center. I recommend some of the following series. A series on the spirit world. That’s particularly exciting dealing with Satan’s world and the world of angels and the cherubs and the serubs and what is all there behind the scenes unseen to our naked eye. We have of course on current in time prophecies, one on parables, one called balancing the Christian life, another on how to lead souls of Christ.

And then many, many of them on books of the Bible like Revelation, Daniel, Acts, Jude, Romans, Hebrews, so on. You can call and order them over the phone and we’ll be glad to ship those out to you. Plus our Sunday sermons, you can subscribe and have them sent on a regular basis to your home so you can catch all of the Sunday morning worship services. We have some excellent books in our Resource Center and one of those is called Salvation by Louis Berry Shafer, the founder of Dallas Biological Seminary, excellent, excellent book.

We have another one called So Great Salvation by Charles Ryrie. That is an excellent book that really lays out for you this wonderful foundation that we have in Christ. And we have dozens and dozens of other books that you might want to take a look at, including commentaries. And my two favorite are in our Resource Center, the Jameson Foset Brown, three volume unabridged commentary that covers something on every verse of the Bible. That’s exciting. And we also have the Jay Vernon McGee commentary, five volumes, beautifully bound, that covers something on every chapter of the Bible.

If you get the two of them, you’ll be really in great shape. It’ll give you something on every chapter and on every verse of the Bible. The Jameson Pusset Brown retails for 140, we have it for 90, and the J. Vernon McGee commentary retails for 200, and we are offering it for a gift of 100. And that’ll also help Bible on a little bit, and I hope you’ll give us a call. Plus the skill field Bible, is becoming rare.

That’s really rare where you can hardly get it anymore. It’s not being printed by very many. And so if you want to get a Scofield while they still are available, we have them here in our Resource Center. If you go to the bookstore, you’re going to get the wrong one. I’m almost certain because the old Scofield Bible is not being printed, but by a handful of people. Some of those are discontinuing it, and that’s a shame. That is the one that’s the best.

And I would recommend it highly. Our phone number here, Bible End, is 1-800-576-3771. We want to hear from you. So give us a call. We’re now going to take another off-air question, and in Riverview calls in Riverview, Florida, and says during the tribulation period, how will people receive salvation? Will it be by mercy, grace, or by some other means? Salvation has always been the same and will continue to be the same, were saved by the blood of Jesus. Revelation 1-5, the book that is the final book of the Bible says in Revelation 1-5, unto him Jesus that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood.

Salvation is always by the blood, always by the blood. I love what the hymn writer wrote when he said, What can wash away my sin? Answer, nothing but the blood, nothing but the blood of Christ. We have Paul in Petersburg, Virginia, and Paul says, are there prophets or apostles today? Answer is no. Paul says some people today refer to themselves as a prophet or as an apostle. I think I would run from anybody doing that. That is very unscriptural.

The gift of prophecy ceased at the end of the first century when the New Testament was completed, according to 1 Corinthians 13, 8 through 10, and there were only 12 apostles, and of course Judas committed suicide, and God replaced him with Paul, but otherwise there are no more apostles. One of the conditions of being an apostle was that you would actually have to have been back there and seen Jesus personally. And Paul of course said that he had obviously seen the Lord and met that qualification and he first saw him on the road to Damascus and Paul became the dynamic apostle to the Gentiles.

But no apostles, no prophets today. If you’re talking to somebody that claims that they are… A prophet or an apostle. I think I would get on my roller skates and get away as quick as I could. I’d run. That’s definitely wrong. And I would say that whatever they’re going to save you is equally going to be wrong, generally speaking. We have Simon in Plant City calling in. He says, What does it mean to worship God in spirit and in truth?

Jesus speaks about that in John 424. And he talks about how that when Christ would die and you’ll to heaven, that it would open up the opportunity for the Holy Spirit to come and dwell in our bodies, and our bodies would be His temple. So wherever our body goes, we can commune with the Lord, worship the Lord in spirit and in truth as He dwells within the believer. Colossians 1 28 says the great mystery that was revealed after Christ was rejected is that Christ would be in us the hope of glory.

He dwells within the believer and we can worship Him any time, day or night. The phone over here at Bible 91805763771 and we’re going to talk to Edgar now before we go any further? And Edgar, rather, leaves an unfair question. And Edgar is calling in from Petersburg, Virginia, and he says, please explain 2 Peter 2 20 and 21. And 2 Peter 2 21 is talking about false prophets. If you’ll notice in verse 20 it says a turn from the Holy Commandment delivered unto them after they had known the way of righteousness which is Christ is the way but they reject Christ.

And so therefore they are lost and it says the latter end is worse for them than at the beginning because the greater light you reject the worse off you are. And then it goes on to talk about how just like a dog returns to his vomit or a pig returns to the mud and the wallowing in the mire. So do these actually eventually show their nature because they have not been born again. It says in verse 17, these are the ones to whom the mist of darkness will reserve forever.

These are the ones that are going to hell. These are clouds without water. These are those who claim that they offer the truth. obviously don’t have the truth. So watch out for false prophets, Edgar, and that’s what Second Peter’s about. The whole chapter, look at verse 1 of chapter 2, we’re all the way down and follow all the personal pronouns there, they, them, and so on. You’ll find if you connect them all together, the whole chapter is talking about false teachers.

These people are not safe. Alright, we’re now going to go to Benjamin in Clearwater and Benjamin, welcome to Bynewide. Good morning, Dr. Han. I just want to know that some people say from time, God told me, I got to say like that. I don’t know if God people want to pray for something like that. And also, this fellow says God spoke to him directly. Finally? Did the fellow say that God spoke to him directly? Well you know, I just want to know because sometimes they say that you know those people say, God told me, or God say, do this, and not support to do this to God, tell me.

And then the second thing is today people can have a dream from God. Alright, we’ll try to answer all that for you Benjamin. The speaking to you, some people use that phrase, but really he speaks to us through his word. He’s not talking audibly in an audible voice to you and if you’re hearing that I would be suspect as well that something’s not quite right there. God uses his word to speak to us. And as we read it, we can say that we heard his instruction and that we are following it.

But if you’re looking for an audible voice from God, I haven’t heard it yet. Although I believe God has been directing my life for the many years I’ve dedicated to him. But I don’t look for audible voices out of the trees or out of the bushes or out of the sky. I look to find my direction from the Word. The Bible says the Old Testament. The Lord directs our paths through his word, and so we need to go to the word to try to find that.

So again, thank you Simon from Plant City, calling in about worshiping. Thank you Benjamin for asking that question. And certainly a person who’s going to get saved has to either hear the word proclaim to them by another human being, or by reading the Bible directly, but not by some voice out of the sky or so on. Larry, in Richmond, Virginia, it says here his question is off here. Ephesians 4-12 says that there are some prophets and some apostles, but again, at that particular time, there still were Larry, prophets and apostles.

Paul, who wrote the letter of Ephesians, was still living, so he was an apostle. And at that time John the Apostle and other apostles were still living and of course there were still those who had the gift of prophecy Because that didn’t cease until the end of the first century and so absolutely that is legitimate in Ephesians 4 12 good question Excellent question Larry. I’m glad you’re listening and and doing some thinking But that ended at the end of the first century and with the death of all the apostles when they died nobody else was an apostle anymore.

And so obviously that’s false. You know it’s interesting the Mormons claim they have a living apostle out there in Salt Lake. Obviously that scares me about them. And of course we know that Mormon theology is not biblical theology so it’s no wonder. So that’s interesting isn’t it? We have Jimmy in Chesterfield, Virginia. Please explain the Lord’s Prayer of the phrase, thy kingdom come. Well, you know, this prayer is about the kingdom, the thousand year reign of Christ, when he will rule on this earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Notice it says, Our Father which art in heaven, how would be thy name thy kingdom come? It’s a prayer for the kingdom to be established. And then notice this is what it says, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Now during the Millennial Kingdom, God’s will will be done on earth just as it is in heaven. The whole earth will be at peace. Nations will not learn war anymore. It’s going to be a wonderful time when Jesus will actually be visibly ruling the earth from Jerusalem.

And so Jimmy, the Lord’s Prayer really isn’t a prayer we should be praying now because The next event on God’s program is not the kingdom, but it is the Rapture. And then seven years will follow, which are the last seven years of the Old Testament, during which time the Antichrist will rise to power, and the Jewish people will be challenged and brought to the place where they will be ready to receive their king when he comes at the second coming and many will and the thousand-year rule will be established in Christ will rule the earth from Jerusalem as the capital of the world.

We now have Stephen on the line. Stephen, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yes, Pastor Hank. I listen to you fairly regularly and I’m looking for an interpretation, I guess, of this. And notwithstanding, I know that this is a concept that’s all through scripture from in the beginning into revelations but trying to get an answer to why are the wages of sin well that’s the way that sin can be paid that’s the penalty that got established from the very beginning in jettison’s two seventeen he told out of an even if they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that they would surely die right i understand well i understand that and i’m just i’m given the my poem i think is is why do you think and I don’t you know don’t see that in scripture or that there is an explanation

I know that that is something that’s been established by God and that in his sovereignty that is certainly you know what we accept but I’m just wondering in your in your thought process why do you think that God established that as as the only only payment or so on for for sin you know you follow what I’m saying Yes, and I don’t think, I’m not in the word death means in the Bible, it means separation. It doesn’t mean annihilation or the cessation of existence.

A person who is spiritually dead is separated from God and a person who goes to hell is separated from God forever. They still live. People in hell will be alive forever and ever and ever, but they’ll be forever separated from God. And that’s what the second death is described in Revelation 20 verse 14. So right now people that are unsaved. Are right now spiritually dead, they are cut off and separated from God, and when they trust Christ, they become born again and they are no longer spiritually dead.

But there is spiritually alive as John 524 says were passed from death unto life, at the moment of belief. And so, that concept is, I think, helpful. So basically, God has laid down the rules that He would choose before the foundations of the world to save all of those that would believe on Christ who would bring life to the whole human race that had actually entered into this world being spiritually dead. The Bible says in Ephesians 2, 1, that the condition of the unsaved person is spiritual death.

And so hopefully that helps a little bit. I don’t know that we may not go to the answer to satisfy it that we get to heaven. No, I understand that. Let me, let me, if I can throw in one other. What do you think of the concept that death had to be, death had to be the only way or a unit explanation is a little different in separation, but that had to be the way because anything else comes from works.

I mean, the only thing that we really have equal in life is our death. That’s exactly right. And the, but doesn’t say the wages of sin is water baptism. It doesn’t say the wages of sin is confirmation or church membership or keeping the commandments. None of those things could pay the penalty for sin only death and of course Christ substituted himself in our place and experienced death on the cross so that we could live. Good question. Thank you. And I sure thank you for calling in today on Bible.

We have Carl down in Sarasota, Florida. Carl, welcome to Bibleline Your On The Air. Hey, Dr. Good to hear you. Hey, I got a question about how do you deal with the different, like I love listening to preaching all the time and I listen to TBN and I’ve heard you kind of talk about different things about how they’re looking, they’re always looking for money but sometimes the summons are really good but then they always end up like speaking in tongues or doing something and start acting crazy and stuff but what do you do when you come up with, you know, in front of Christian and different beliefs, you know, interpreting differently?

Well, I try to win him over to the truth, and that’s what Bibleines all about, is that we hopefully are moving people out of, sometimes a state of just not knowing what the Bible has to say to what it does say, and then hopefully they’ll have the good judgment to say, whoa, I need to get in line with the Bible if I’m going to be a Christian that’s gonna be pleasing of the Lord. I have to obviously walk in agreement with him and agreement with his word is the way I do that.

So definitely I try my best to bring people to the truth and bring them to the Bible and make sure that they realize that the authority is not a denomination, not me or any other Bible teacher, but the Word of God itself is the authority. It’s God’s own Word and that we’re to listen to what God has to say very carefully. i got specifically like there’s a pre-depated jake i love but uh… he he he he pulled out of the word things that i could be fifty times and never see it and then that they’ll show it you know give that where will probably light and i love here in that and looking and i look for that but then you know and then you get they’ve got going up after a while and some of them go running around the churches with their hands in the air and

it’s all kind of crazy Well, you know, God is not the author of confusion, and if you read 1 Timothy, it talks about how God has given us the spirit of peace and of a sound mind. And when you see craziness, you have to say, is that from God? So those are tip-offs. When you read your Bible, you can tell who’s got it together and who doesn’t by reading what the Bible says about how the Christian, like even the one that was demon-possessed Christ cast the demons out.

When they saw him before he got saved, he was naked and he was acting really crazy and loud and so on. But once he got saved, he was clothed and he was sitting and he was quiet and he was in his right mind. And so there’s a real contrast there. I think if you just use the Scriptures as your guide, you’re just going to be fine. Thank you, Carl, for calling in. We sure appreciate that call. We have blue.

Hi, I’m Hank Lindstrom. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. I know we lose our rewards in heaven for disobedience and sin. A, do we lose clowns as well and B, can we get either one of those back? Okay, and I’m not too sure that you lose what you have done, but you lose what you could have had if you had continued, you know, and I think sometimes if in some cases you could lose what you have. But if you have led someone to Christ, I’m sure that crown is going to stay there for you, which is the soul owner’s crown.

And if you are martyred for your faith, obviously you’re not going to lose that crown and you’re going to have it when you get there. So I think that it’s more that you’re not going to get crowns that you could have had. you’ll lose that on that. Is there a difference between rewards and crowns? I mean, well no, crowns are part of the rewards. There are many different rewards but certainly five crowns are some specific areas where we can try to excel and receive those particular crowns and rewards that God has for us.

The reason I asked is because I was talking to another Christian and he said he believed he feel that God has given us this great big test and he kind of made me laugh. He says, I think God should know that I’m just a C student. So I say, well, I’ll check with Dr. Hank and see what he says. All right. Thank you so much, Lou. And that was Lou.
