Jesus Christ laid His credibility on the line when He said, “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth (Matthew 12:40).” If, therefore, the story of Jonah is not true then the story of Christ is not true. If the story of Jonah is fiction, then the story of Christ is fiction.

Thanks for tuning into the broadcast We look forward to being with you each every day Monday through Friday as we come to you live from Tampa, Florida From our studios right here at the Calvary community church where I’m the pastor and we Would love to meet you if you ever get a chance to come by we’d love to have you do that this week is an exciting week It’s the crucifixion week yesterday began the week with Palm Sunday and Christ coming down the slopes of the
Mount of Olives and being hailed as the son of David, Hosanna to the son of David, a Messianic title. Here he is ascribed as King of Israel and then he goes into the temple and he’s rejected and then we find that Christ is on a collision course with a cross and this is the week that Christ would have been crucified. We have Wednesday we believe is good Wednesday when Christ was crucified, Friday is plain Friday, but Christ was placed in the grave on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
72 hours later rose from the dead and we believe He rose Saturday at sundown. Now that is the end of the Sabbath at Saturday sundown and the beginning of the first day of the week. So Christ rose exactly when the first day of the week occurred. By the way, we are having a sundown service. This Saturday, if you are in the Tampa Bay area and in driving distance, come and visit us for our Saturday Sundown service. As we celebrate the resurrection of Christ when we believe He rose, 72 hours after He was placed in the grave, He was placed in the grave, it sundown.
If you leave Christ in the grave until Sunday morning, you violate what Christ said because That’s an extra night period. That would be three days and four nights. Christ said he’d be in the grave three days and three nights. Matthew 1240, look it up for yourself. Matthew 1240, three days and three nights, he’s placed in the grave at sundown. He has to come out of the grave at sundown. If you read the scriptures, it was on Sunday morning that they discovered an empty tomb.
They did not see him come out of the tomb. They did not see the resurrection. that it occurred, we believe exactly 72 hours after he was placed in the grave. Exciting stuff and of course next Sunday we’ll be celebrating Resurrection Sunday and we invite you to come. So if you’re in the area you can, if you’re not, on the internet, if you go to my website BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the camera and you’ll be able to watch our worship service as we stream it on the internet next Sunday morning around 11 o’clock.
So check that out. And of course, if you’re in the area come by Saturday night at 6 p.m. for our sundown service. For Sunday morning, we have an adult class that I teach and other adult classes and Sunday school classes. Then at 1030, our morning worship will be celebrating the resurrection of Christ again from the dead. Good to be with you. We returned just a week ago now from Israel. We had a wonderful time and there we of course remembered the Lord’s death right there at the tomb, right next to the hill of Calvary and got a chance to early in the morning listen to the birds sing and look at the beautiful flowers there in the garden and be so very close to where Christ actually died.
And obviously a stirring moment for our whole group. That was the last thing we saw before we left to the Ode to the airport and begin our our journey home. Our guide told me that we have more time if you want to go see one more thing before we had to be here, I said no. I want our final memory to be Calvary. I want it to be the Tomb of Christ. There’s certainly nothing you could take us to that would be of more significance than this.
Our final memory I believe should be left right here. And so we had a great time. By the way, if you want to go, we’ll be planning another trip and you can call in and get your name on our list. And as we make plans, we’ll keep you abreast of what’s going on and we’ll be glad to take your input. If you have some suggestions about where you might want to go, we might include another country. Some have said, how about Greece, Athens and Corinth?
What about Rome? We’re listening to those who are interested in going and you will influence us as we make our decisions and we’ll have a great time and I know you’ll just enjoy the whole thing. All of our people that went this past time want to go back again. They enjoyed it so much. So that’ll tell you. We felt safe. I slept like a rock in my hotels in Israel feeling very safe and very secure. We never even heard a car backfire.
So it was really a wonderful peaceful experience, good food, good hotels and definitely good night rest every night and then up and out and up and at them and going around and seeing all the sights. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is Bible and I hope you’re catching us on the internet when you can’t hear it live when we are broadcast on your radio station because we’re on the internet 24-7 so you can go anytime at your leisure and catch the Bibleline programs.
I hope you’ll do that. We have a lot of things in our Resource Center. I hope you’ll take a look at it. It’s also on the online bookstore on our website. Again, the website is BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. We’re going to talk about the Bible for a bit and then take our callers, if you’d like to call in, the phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Well it’s interesting that Jesus, of course, had healed Lazarus and then six days before the Passover, and by the way, Jesus is the fulfillment of the Passover.
First Corinthians 5-7 says, For even Christ, our Passover is sacrificed for us. So he’s the Passover Lamb, and the Passover Lamb was not just a Jewish thing, because obviously Paul, writing to the Corinthians, which were Gentiles, says, For even Christ, OUR Passover is sacrificed for us. And so Jesus is the Passover Lamb. He’s the Lamb of God that came to take away the sin of the world. And you know after Lazarus had been raised from the dead, that was quite a notable miracle.
It says in chapter 12 of John, then Jesus, six days before the Passover came to Bethany where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead, and there they made a supper, and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with Jesus. Wouldn’t you have liked them there? I would have loved to sit there and listen to that conversation. Can you imagine? who is dead for four days Christ raised from the dead.
And here later six days before Passover here Jesus is sitting in that home and Lazarus is sitting at the table raised from the dead. Oh boy that would have been really quite an evening to sit there and hear the conversation Lazarus back from the dead. And you know, a lot of people were wanting to see Lazarus because he was like a celebrity now that he’d been raised from the dead. That doesn’t happen to everybody, does it? Well in verse 9 it says, much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there.
And they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also whom he raised from the dead. So people were coming from all over. Word God out that Lazarus had been raised from the dead and people came to see Lazarus and of course to see Christ. Verse 10 says of John 12, But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death. So the chief priests are saying we have got to get rid of Lazarus.
Why? Verse 11, Because of the by reason of him, many of the Jews went away and believed on Jesus. Wow, they were jealous, they were envious. Notice a lot of Jews were leaving the religious leaders and Judaism and going away to believe on Jesus all because of Lazarus. So they made a point of trying to kill Lazarus and Jesus. Then on the next day, much people Much people were come to the feast. 2 Jerusalem, therefore, the Passover. When they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, and they took the branches of palm trees and went forth to meet Him and cried, Hosanna, blessed to the King of Israel that cometh in the name of Yeshua.
Here, they are recognizing Christ as being the King. The Messiah, He walks down the slopes of the Mount of Olives, which is just a little higher the Jerusalem. You can overlook the whole city of Jerusalem as you come down those slopes. By the way, our whole group, and I love to make a point of doing this every time I go, is that we walk down that ancient road that’s still there to the very hour and walk on the same stones that Christ walked on as he walked down the slopes of the Mount of Olives.
As he came down, He stopped and overlooked the city and he wept over Jerusalem because he knew that he was to be rejected. And we paused there and we read scripture and looked over Jerusalem and saw the spot where in Matthew 23 Jesus said, Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem, how often I would have gathered thee together as a hymn gathers her chickens under her wings, but you would not. So then he announces, I’m going to leave your house desolate. He’s talking about the temple there in Jerusalem, the one that a few minutes later he would enter and be rejected by the Jewish leadership.
And so he said, and by the way, he’s the one for whom the house was built. He’s the one for whom the temple was prepared and Christ goes into the temple that was really His house, a house made for God, and Jesus is God who took on human flesh and he’s rejected. So he says, I’m going to leave it desolate and obviously he’s telling us now he’s going to go back to heaven after he gives his life to pay for the sins of the world.
And Jesus Christ, of course, then heads toward the cross. During that weekend we believe it was on Wednesday. Christ was crucified and he died at three in the afternoon Exactly when Israel was offering up their lamb as the Passover was Thursday of that week and it began Wednesday at 6 p.m You know the Jews count their night first and so they crucified him on the Preparation day of the Passover and according to Exodus the lamb was to be slain in the evening of the Passover and The evening is the preceding afternoon because the night is first and therefore the evening period from 3 in the afternoon until 6th is in the preceding afternoon and Christ died exactly at 3.
And by the way, He controlled that. Jesus died exactly at the right time to fulfill the prophecy. We know that it says in the Bible that He yielded up His Spirit. He says, I have the power to lay down my life. I have the power to take it up again. And so exactly at three, Jesus at that moment, chooses that moment for His death and He yields up His Spirit. And then physically He dies also. And Christ died as the Lamb of God to pay for the sins of the world.
We know this remarkable event where Jesus comes down the slopes of the Mount of Oz who was predicted back in Zechariah, chapter 9, verse 9, and is quoted in the New Testament. What an amazing book the Bible is to tell and advance the events that would take place. In Zechariah, 9-9, God tells Israel, Rejoice! Greatly, O daughter of Zion, shout, O daughter of Jerusalem, Behold thy King cometh unto thee, He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding upon an ass, upon a cult, the fold of an ass.
And so Jesus is coming down the slopes on a donkey, fulfilled the prophecy of Zechariah 9-9. And here was their king. He was absolutely sinless, he is just, and also he is bringing salvation. The most significant event that’s happened in history past is this event when Christ comes to give His life by dying on the Cross of Calvary. When He came down the slopes that day, that was the marking of Jesus being the Lamb that was to be slain.
He was designated by the people as being that Messiah that had been promised. and then the religious leaders. He says that we must kill him. Then he goes to the cross and dies as the Lamb of God. Sight and stuff. We’ll be talking more about it all week long. Of course, this coming weekend is the highlight of Christ. Rise is from the dead. We believe that in the Sunday we’re having a sundown service. You’re invited at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 7.
and also Sunday will celebrate again the discovery of the empty tomb and the fact that Christ is risen and is alive forevermore. I hope you have trusted Christ. There is no other Savior. Buddha can’t save you. Mohamad can’t save you. Confucius can’t save you. Nor can any other want to be Messiah’s. Jesus is alone the Savior. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. You have to trust Christ or you don’t go to heaven.
I don’t care who you are, where you are, or what you are. Unless you trust Christ, you cannot come to heaven. That’s what he said. I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. And he says, no man, come unto the Father but by me. You want to go to heaven? You must trust Christ. You want to go to heaven? There’s no other way. Jesus alone is that Savior. I’m Dr. Englund, this is ByBlind. We’re here to go to the phone lines.
You’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we’re excited about being with you here today. And we sure do want to hear from you. 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. All right, we have some off-air questions. We’ll try to take those. And we’ll also try to take your on-air question. Again, that phone number is 1-800-576-3771. We want to talk about the fact that Jesus could not have been crucified on Friday. The Friday error certainly caused a lot of people to be puzzled over the years because there is no possible way you could get three days and three nights between Friday and Sunday.
There is no way it could happen. Jesus said very plainly in Matthew 1240 as Jonah was three days and three nights in the the fishes belly. Social the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. So when you look at that carefully in John 11 verse 9 Jesus said, are there not 12 hours in the day? Now that’s the daylight period, 12 hours and the night period is also 12 hours. So when Christ said three days and three nights he’s talking about 72 hours.
And if you get 72 hours between Friday and Sunday, I’d like to know how you do it. It’s not possible. It is absolutely impossible. And so when you back it up, if you can count forward, I think you can count backward. You can count back and it’ll take you all the way back to Wednesday as the day that Christ was crucified. And Thursday of that week was, of course, Passover. So Christ died exactly on schedule with the Old Testament prophecies that were to be fulfilled by him and he died exactly as Israel was offering up their land.
We’re now going to go to a caller here from Tampa, Florida and it’s W.O. If I’m pronouncing that right, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Hi. I have a question about Judas because it was planned for Jesus to be betrayed. I’m wondering about Judas’s soul because he did commit suicide after betraying Jesus. What about his soul? Well, Judas went to hell and it’s not because he betrayed Christ or committed suicide, it’s because he never was a believer. In John 664, you might want to look it up, John 664, Jesus said he knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him and he goes on to disclose that Judas was the betrayer and that he was not a believer.
Later in John’s Gospel chapter 13 he tells Peter that the disciples were clean except for one. One had not been cleansed of his sin. One was not a believer. That was Judas. So Judas was never a believer and And that’s why he wound up in hell. Some people have imagined because he committed suicide and then went to hell that suicide is in part of the most sin. Of course, that’s not correct. and uh… Jesus said to him that come with me in John 637, I will in no wise.
That means under no circumstance or for no cause would I cast out a genuine believer. So Judas was lost because he was not ever a believer and that’s amazing isn’t it? He could be so close. He could be one of the twelve apostles and yet never trust Christ as his Savior. That’s a warning to all of us. that we need to make sure that we’ve trusted Christ as our Savior to be saved. If you’re trusting in your works or in some other means of getting to heaven, you’ll never be saved.
And Judas was obviously an unbelievable right to his death. Wow, wow. What a revelation. Thank you so much. You’re so welcome. Have a good one. Thank you for calling. All right. That was here in Tampa. going to Benjamin in Clearwater Florida. Benjamin, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. This is Benjamin. I have one question here and number. Hello, 2011. Moses got talked to Moses and he said to talk to the rock under the rock when I have water.
But in Exo though 17.6, God said to Moses, hit the rock. What is the difference? Well… Well, in the first case, he strikes the rock which speaks about Christ being smitten and dying to pay for our sins and out comes this everlasting water that’s pictured which is what Christ spoke about at the woman, to the woman at the well in John 4. If you’d only ask of me, I’d give you water and you’d never thirst again, referring to the Holy Spirit and salvation, which is a gift and received by the fact that Christ was smitten and died for us.
But then after that, He never was to strike it. Christ only dies once and that’s an amazing, wonderful revelation because there are churches that crucify Christ all over again time after time and that’s the same error that is to be avoided by the picture here in Exodus. Christ was smitten once and went to the cross but then he’s not going to be smitten again and so from then on the Christian life has to do with just talking to him and appealing to him and I think that is the picture given to us there in the book of Numbers and in Exodus.
Very good, very good. Thank you. You’re so welcome and thank you. Christ died once in Hebrews chapter 10. It makes it very clear that by one offering Christ has perfected forever those that are sanctified. Hebrews 10, 14. So by the one offering that Christ offered up at the cross, you are saved forever. What is interesting, if you look up in the Catholic Catechism, what is the Mass? It says the Mass is the unbloody sacrifice of Jesus Christ again to pay for sin.
And then it says, is the Mass the same sacrifice as that of Calvary? And the Roman Catholic Catechism, it says the Mass is the same sacrifice as that of Calvary. So the Roman Catholics are guilty every time they offer up the Mass of crucifying Jesus Christ all over again. And obviously that’s what you are alluding to there. Christ was only to be smitten once, not again and again and again and again and again and again and again. And there are hundreds of thousands of masses being set all the time.
And obviously every time they crucify Him again and the Bible says they put Him to an open in the Bible says this man Jesus Christ after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever set down on the right hand of God, Hebrews chapter 10 verse 12. And by one offering he hath perfected forever those that are sanctified. So once you trust Christ you are in God’s sight perfected forever and therefore eligible to enter heaven. Larry in Largo, Florida calls in and leaves a software question.
He says, you’ve spoken about the New Testament being inserted into the Old Testament age. And later the Old Testament being completed. Please explain. Well, I don’t know if I said it exactly that way, but the Old Testament age… The church age, which began at Pentecost and ended the rapture, has been slipped into the dispensation or age of law. And once the rapture happens, the last seven years of the Old Testament will tick off the clock. And if you read Daniel chapter 9, you read about the 70th week of Daniel, a week of years, that is still floating out there, not fulfilled.
And when that week is complete, the prophecies concerning the Messiah will be complete. Both of his comings will have happened. And obviously, as soon as the Rapture happens, God goes back to dealing with Israel. The last seven years tick off the Old Testament plot, and then Christ will return to Setabish Kingdom, which is a promise God made to Israel, which will be literally fulfilled. That’s a brief answer, but I hope that helps. If you have the Schofield Reference Bible, then I recommend the notes will be absolutely invaluable to you on this particular topic.

In any case, we want to thank you in advance for your prayers and your gifts to the Bible, which enable us to keep this program on the air.
We’re going to go to the callers and we have some offer questions. David in Plant City calls in and says, explain Luke 1018. It talks about Satan following lightning from heaven. Was Satan even in heaven in the first place? Good question, Dave. thing was didn’t live in heaven. But if you read Isaiah 14, it tells us of Satan’s plans to overthrow heaven and as he ascends and leads a third of the angels that were under his control, poured heaven to overthrow it.
The Bible says he is defeated and cast back down from heaven to the earth. That’s what you’re reading about in Luke 10, 18. Not that he lived in heaven, but that he was headed toward heaven as it says in Isaiah 14, 13, and 14. That’s Isaiah chapter 14 verse 13 and 14. It says, in the five eye wills of Satan, as God reveals to us his thoughts and Satan’s plan is he planned his rebellion. He says, I will ascend into heaven.
So clearly that’s where Satan was going and then he was cast down as he was approaching heaven back down to the earth. We’re going to our live calls. We have Jim and he’s in Tampa, Florida. Jim, welcome to Bibleline. I knew you were on the air. You’re on the air. You’re on the air with Hank. This is Dr. Jim. I’m from California and I’ve spent six months a year in Tampa. Five years ago I had a bicycle accident and the missionary boys helped me get to the hospital.
They turned out to be Mormons and they took me to their church and gave me these talks and stuff. I told them I was raised to the Baptist. She’s been a good person. I need to find out for sure if these Mormons are real. Well you’re right on the right target. But the Mormons are not even close to being Christians. If you read the story, they all believe that they came and migrated here from the planet cola. I’m not making that up.
But apparently, according to their teachings, the Spirit God Elohim was producing tremendous numbers of children, spiritual children. They needed bodies, and so they had a council of 12 of Elohim’s sons, two of which were Lucifer and Jesus. That makes Jesus and Lucifer brothers. When they drew lots, it fell upon Jesus, and he became the Adam God that was sent here to the earth to produce bodies for all of these children that Elohim had had. Basically those spirits migrate here from the planet Cola and inhabit the bodies here.
Now according to their teachings, Lucifer, Jesus’ brother in the Mormon theology, actually got jealous. And so he came down later and according to Mormon theology all the black races have come forth from Lucifer and the white races came forth from Jesus. And of course they believe in a work salvation, they don’t believe in hell, they have all the marks of a cult, they obviously appeal to their writings in the book of Mormon over the Bible. And I believe all Mormons are headed for hell that they don’t believe in because they reject the Jesus of the Bible.
The Jesus of Mormonism is not the Jesus of the Bible. And basically they are not even close to being Christian. And it’s interesting out in Salt Lake in front of their huge temple out there, they have outside an altar with a cane and able and they have the offering there of cane, not the offering of able. And obviously I think that tells you they’ve gone in the way of Cain as the Bible says and woe unto those that go that way that salvation is by works and not by the shed blood of a lamb and that is by Christ’s shed blood that we are saved.
But Mormonism teaches that works. By the way that’s why they have these extensive genealogies as well. They believe you can actually earn salvation not only for yourself but you can earn salvation for your relatives that have already died. And when you go into their temple, you can, on their behalf, practice baptisms or marriages, and your relatives can accept them if they want to, and then they can wind up in heaven with you. And it’s all a crazy system of works and a migration from a planet called Cola to the planet Earth.
Okay, but I think because of Maya bringing in stuff, or… Absolutely. If you’re a believer, if you were raised back to it and you trusted Jesus, that’s the key part, then your spirit is going to say this is not right. Okay. All right. Well, thank you so much, Hank. Okay, Jim is nice talking to you and Mormonism is not Christian. We have Charles in Safety Harbor. Charles, welcome to Bibleline. And you’re on the line. Hi, I’m confused about Judas.
I’ve since the last of previous collars. I want to know why Judas committed suicide. Well, he was remorseful over what he had done. He felt badly. He thought… The Bible tells us he regretted what he did. Well, does that make him a believer? No. Because he, he’s been, why was he? He was your own type kid. Well, I mean, you can be remorseful and not be a kind of believer. I think there are many people who go to pintentries that are regretting and are remorseful over the crime that they’ve committed.
yet never turn to Christ or never become saved and are not going to go to heaven. Obviously that’s what Judas did and the Bible is very clear. Jesus makes it clear. The scripture is very clear that he did not go to heaven. It’s obviously because of his unbelief. That’s the only important part of the sin. Alright, part of the scripture that backed it up. Absolutely. The scripture is very clear on Judas. He’s not saved and was not saved because he did not trust Christ.
Christ. All right. There’s been a lot going on lately about the topic of your story and it’s not an excuse lately. So thanks for clearing that up. All right. And it’s interesting, this is a real attack today upon the Christian story, the Gospel And then. of Judas of course, written hundreds of years later, could not have been written by Judas and obviously teaches things absolutely contrary to the rest of scripture. And the Bible tells us in Isaiah 8, 20, if they speak not according to this word, that is the Word of God, it is because there is no light in them.
And lately I have never seen such a barrage of attacks against the Bible and wanting to keep you confused. And since you use that word confused, let me just say that Satan is the author of confusion. So when you’re confused, you know that’s not coming from God, that’s coming from Satan. And the way to resolve that confusion is to go back to the Word of God and see what the Bible says. And then when you are in agreement with the Bible, then you’ve embraced truth.
But when you find yourself in disagreement with the Bible, then you’re in error because the Bible we believe is the inspired Word of God and is without error. It is inerrant, infallible, the absolute Word of God. The original autographs were perfect and without error. And of course we have translations. There is no perfect translation, but we have pretty reliable translations. They’re pretty good. The Bible has been transmitted very well down to us, but only the originals were absolutely perfect and set down exactly as God would have set them.
we now are going to i can in clear water can welcome the bible and you are on the air yeah i had a good morning now the argument about the on-day and on friday one thing i appreciate everything you’re saying and you know i take it to heart and i look up the references one thing that’s sort of hard for me to put into that maybe you have a way of explaining it i don’t know something i’m missing here in now in the last few you think it’s uh…
twenty three and first verse of Luke 24 talking about the women there and the day that he’s And if he’s crucified, you know, they go and see where he is, how he’s situated in the tomb there. And this is, let’s see. Then the next day over in the verse of Confucius, let me hear verse 56, then they returned. So I guess they went home and prepared to spite. He was a once the crucifixion. They were arrested to the Sabbath and then they waited a couple more days before they came to see what was going on.
When they got up at dawn to see the tenant. the tomb was empty there right exactly and if you read Matthew 28 so that’s a correct sebeth even though they rest on the Sabbath they wait two more days before exactly well the seventh their probably is the rest of all we do the but in Matthew 28 it says in the first verse in the end of the Sabbath’s plural and if you have a Scofield it points out that there were several Sabbaths that week the Passover itself was a Sabbath and then Friday was also a Sabbath with the Feast of Unleavened Bread and then Saturday was a regular the Saturday Sabbath and they had to wait until those Sabbaths all ended.
So they rested on probably their reference to the Saturday Sabbath after the other two and then they came in the morning. But they came and found an empty tomb and Christ wasn’t there. The fact that Christ rose at sundown, which has to be because He’s placed the grave at sundown if you believe Christ’s words at all, that he actually rose at the end of the Saturday Sabbath and just as the first day began, which the night period occurs first, and he rose right at the beginning of the first day of the week.
a Obviously, there’s a seeming contradiction in the Bible if you don’t line it up right at that very moment because some passages say Christ rose on the third day, other passages say he rose after the third day and that seems to be a contradiction of Father Niazzah Young believer. And the only way to resolve that is to say that he died or rather rose exactly when the third they ended and exactly when the fourth day began. And then that can be resolved and you have both are true.
And so Christ I believe rose exactly at that moment when the Sabbath ended and when the first day began. And then in the morning they came with the spices, not because they believed in a resurrection but if you read Luke 24 carefully it says they entered into the tomb when they found the stone rolled away and they found not, they found not, they found not the body. were looking for a body. They were not looking for a resurrection and they brought their spices because they didn’t believe Christ would rise from the dead and they wanted to complete the burial.
So they didn’t look for a resurrected Christ and then the angels told them and said, why are you here? Why do you seek the living among the dead? He’s not here. He told you that and they reminded him of the women of what he had said to them up in Galilee and then says they remembered his words but they had just totally not accepted the fact that Christ was rising from the dead. Let me ask you a question about the Sabbath to make sure I have the straight.
Obviously, the Saturday was the Sabbath and that week I was on the impression from what you were saying that Thursday. That was the Passover, yes. But what it was Friday also considered the Sabbath? That’s in Love and Bread, yes. It was a part of it. Okay, there were three Sabbath days that week. And that’s what Matthew 28.1 says in the end of the Sabbath’s plural. Devascholphila points out that we’re Sabbath, there’s plural. And it was several that obviously had to allow us.
That’s why they had to wait three days before they get approached the tomb again. And when they got there, they were concerned about how they’d roll the stone away. That stone, they estimate, probably weighed about seven tons. They would not have been able to move it. And when they got there, they were, I’m sure, surprised and pleased to see Stone had been rolled away and then they could walk right on in and when they got in there They were looking for the body and they found not the body Well that makes a lot more sense to me because I thought that week Thursday and Saturday with the Sabbath I didn’t have to absolutely yeah, but the people go three days without with the bang all the Sabbath rules, huh?
I would have assumed that they would yeah They do that now or how does that work with the Jewish people now when they have a week like that? Do they also have free in a row or I don’t know they have you know tonight begins the Passover and we’ll have to maybe get a Jewish call to call it and let us know. But I think that obviously there won’t be a sound. Only be three in a row of passover starts on the first.
I think so. Yeah. Okay. Alright, appreciate it. Thank you now. And that was Ken in Clearwater. And we now have a, uh, off your question from Jay in St. Petersburg, Florida. And he says, are we still in the dispensation of the law? of the law. The answer is no. It goes on to say, are we not in the dispensation of grace? And the answer is yes. Please follow up on your earlier comments. The dispensation of law was interrupted at the cross and put on pause.
You know what the pause button is that you have maybe on your recorder? Well, the pause button will be lifted when the rapture when the Rapture happens. God, knowing in His foreknowledge that Christ would be rejected, planned a Gentile age called the Church Age or the Age of Grace or Dispensation of Grace, Ephesians 3-2 talks about it being called the Dispensation of Grace, and how that that would be inserted in between the two comings of Christ, and how that when Christ was rejected, We find that then it was made clear that God had now turned to the Gentiles and this has been a Gentile age.
When the rapture happens, God will return to His full program for Israel. And the last seven years of the Old Testament will tick off the clock. In Daniel 9 is a very key passage where it talks about 70 weeks of years. For 470 years, would fulfill all of God’s plans. The first part was fulfilled after 69 weeks of years, and then the clock stopped ticking. In Daniel 9 it talks about a 70th week that is still yet to be fulfilled.
Once the rapture happens that last seven years will tick off the clock. It’s all about Israel. You’ll note it’s in Daniel 9 it says, 70 weeks of years are determined upon the clock. Daniel’s people and upon the holy city of Jerusalem and so this all involves Israel and it’s about to take place I believe the rapture is coming up soon and I hope that will answer your question We have run in Seminole Florida run welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Yes, so good morning, Dr.
Hank. I have a question like just as well at least more than one sister I’ll be about six, John, you know, John to look after his mother. Well, I don’t know except that he did and that seems to be born out in history. I have been to Ephesus where John went and passed her and there is a burial place there for Mary where apparently Mary lived out her life there in the city of Ephesus and that she was buried there.
I think apparently Jesus loved John and he went and John to watch after his mom. Not the children but the mom, their friend. Apparently he did. Could I ask one more question? Sure. I think somewhere Christ says to, maybe the two is He would whatever sins you forgive, I will forgive us and then whatever. John 20. John 20. And that’s true to us today as well. In the gospel message that we have, we have the power of life and death.
We have the power to forgive sin. When a person believes the message of the gospel as I give it, I can tell them on the authority of God’s word that their sins are remitted or forgiven. And if a person rejects that message, I can tell them your sins are retained and you’re headed for hell. That’s very good. Thank you very much. Okay Ron. Thank you. Now that was a good question and we have that same power to forgive sin in the gospel message which is the cure or the remedy for sin.
We have D in Richmond, Virginia and D, welcome to Iowa and you’re on the air. I was listening to the gentleman just called in about the three Sabbaths in a row and about the food and then Exodus 12, 16, this is, you know, Exodus 12 explaining the past over in the day of 1113. Yes. And in verse 16 it says on the first day hold a sacred assembly and another one on the Do no work at all on these days except to prepare food to eat for those three days to prepare the food to eat and but to do no other work.
Very good. Yes, I just wanted to share that with us. Well, it’s very, I was like you said you took that chart, it took a long time to make it and I’ve since I’ve been listening to you, I’ve been studying this myself and just sharing with the people at church and it’s a really tough study because old testament, poor new testament in a way is worded and everything but I just thought I would end that for you. Well I appreciate it.
Thanks so much. Thank you. Continue to listen up there in Richmond, Virginia and we have David in Clearwater and David welcome to Bibleline you’re on the earth. Yes, you mentioned about the in Daniel about the 70 years for the donor of Israel. Doesn’t that also give a sample? Absolutely and that was fulfilled literally as Christ died exactly 483 years after that commandment that was given and that is of course when the clock was put on pause and the last seven years are still yet to take off the clock and that’s when the rapture happens the last seven years of the 70th week of Daniel will take off the clock.
There’s a gap of 2000 years between the 69th week and the 70th week. You’ll notice it says, and after the three score in two years, which is already added to seven, at 69 weeks of years, the Messiah would be cut off, but not for Himself. And then it says the city of Jerusalem and the temple would be destroyed, and that actually happened in 8070. That was literally fulfilled. And so that’s when the clock stopped ticking. You know, the 70th week is still unfulfilled, and during that time the Antichrist will present himself and stop the sacrifices that would have been resumed in Israel in a rebuilt temple.
And I was just there, and we saw all the preparations for that third temple, and there’s an excitement in Israel like I’ve never seen in all my trips to get this temple up and going. So I think we’re living very, very close to the Lord’s return. We’ve got to go. The program is just about over. And we want to thank you for tuning in. If you’ve never trusted Christ, you need to do that. It’s the most important decision you’ll ever make.
You’re saved by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ. And I hope you’ll trust Him right now. Listen to us again tomorrow. Wow. You can visit our internet site by the land ministries.org or.com and catch us 24-7. You’ve got to run. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. And I believe soon. Be sure to tune in for another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church of Tampa, Florida. Well, I’m Dr. Anglister and we’ve enjoyed being with you today and I hope you have. This is the most special week of year for us as believers in Christ. This is the crucifixion week. Yesterday began with Palm Sunday, Christ being introduced as a Messiah and hailed as such by the crowds at said Hosanna to the son of David, one of the titles of the Messiah.
And then, of course, we know he’s on a collision course now with the cross. We believe he was crucified on Wednesday of this week, and we call this good Wednesday. And then on Saturday, at sundown, we believe he rose from the dead, 72 hours after being placed in the grave at sundown. We’re having a sundown service here in Tampa at our church to celebrate his resurrection when we believe it occurred. And then of course we’ll celebrate again in the morning the discovery of the empty tomb and the fact that Christ is risen and alive and later on that first day appeared to his disciples and others.
We’re excited. This is a fantastic week and I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your very own Savior because there’s no other way to get to heaven than through Christ. Peter says in Acts 4, 12, neither is their salvation in any other, for there’s none other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved. If you haven’t trusted Christ, you need to do that. Just tell the Lord, Lord, on the center, but I’m trusting Jesus and his shed blood as the only means by which my sins can be washed away.
The moment you trust Christ, the God saves you, then make that second decision to live for him, and that’s where rewards and blessings come in. Call or 800 number if you’d like to help Bible in this month. Call 1-800-576-3771 and we can take a gift by credit card or you can send it by mail. We’ll send you an envelope with our address on it if you like. But certainly we are dependent upon you, a listener. We have no other source or revenue to be able to pay for these programs.
God bless, have a great day. Join us again tomorrow. In the meantime, keep looking up because we believe Jesus truly is coming, and I believe soon.
