Bibleline Radio Show – 2007-04-20 – Contemporary terms that are not the Gospel

The simple gospel message is being corrupted every day by the use of terms or phrases that Christians use to invite the lost to be saved. These terms demand or imply that human works or human effort is a part of the plan of salvation! Biblical salvation is wholly of the Lord and is “Not of works, lest anyone may boast (Ephesians 2:9)”.

Also, in other areas we have a time flow run on the weekend and you’ll just have to inquire from your local station to find out what times they are that we’re on the weekend on extra shows. I know in Nashville we’re on between one and two in the morning. As an additional time we know in Chattanooga we’re on, I believe, three times a day. and so there are numerous times when you can catch Bible and in different areas. Check with your local station.

I am glad to be able to be with you today. Today is of course Friday and we are looking forward to a great weekend. If you live in the area you’re always welcome to come by and visit our Resource Center. Open every day till about 4.30 in the afternoon. You can also worship with us on Sunday or a Wednesday. You’re welcome to come by and join us for that. And this coming Tuesday, we’re beginning a new series of classes that I’ll be teaching.

10 hours of teaching over 5 weeks, Tuesday nights beginning the 24th of April from 7 till 9 for 5 weeks as 10 hours of teaching on in-time controversy. And that is about the second coming of Christ. A lot of people are telling me they don’t know what they believe anymore because some We are saying the rapture has already happened, or the tribulations already happen, that there is no rapture. We are going to talk about that, we are going to talk about methods of interpreting the Bible and how the book of Revelation is still future, and Christ is still coming.

There will be a literal thousand-year kingdom here on this earth. I think you are going to find it very, very fascinating. Well, in any case, we do thank you for listening today, and I hope that if you want to take advantage of our special, that’s this week only, if you order the CDs, that’s 10 hours of teaching on 10 CDs of this up-and-coming class will be teaching beginning this coming Tuesday. We’re going to do something special for you. We’re going to also give you the passcode so that you can watch these classes on the Internet.

It’s really a hundred dollar value and we’re going to let you have it for just 50. You’ll get the CD sent to you when the classes are concluded in five more weeks and you’ll also be able to watch them on the Internet wherever you might be. So you can take these classes from another city. You don’t have to be in Tampa. Just sit in the classroom. You can sit in it live via the Internet. Isn’t that exciting? By the way, this week in our worship service is webcast at 11 o’clock and you’ll be seeing a picture of clouds going by and hear the old rugged cross and when I actually begin the message then the video and the audio will come up and you can watch that.

We have people from all over the world. I just got a wonderful email from England, a family there that watches every week and listens to my blind and they got a phone number from us and have called is so far five times this week, but we have people all over the world that are listening to and watching our programs on the Internet. We know numerous ones in Africa from different countries up and down the Ivory Coast and from South Africa.

But what is exciting is that when we were in Israel just a few weeks ago, we met people from southern Nigeria and also northern Nigeria, pastors who recognize me and watch and listen to my blind on the internet. Isn’t that exciting? I thought to myself, what are the chances of this? I travel to Israel. They travel to Israel and we meet and we have this common denominator that they watch Bibleline. How exciting. We’re about ready to go on shortwave radio in Africa.

The doors open and we’re ready to… Thank those programs up. We’re going to be on an hour every day in Africa. Isn’t that wonderful? God is doing great things and we’re excited about being a part of it. And I hope you’re excited about being a part of it too because I think as you give the Bibleline, you actually are sharing in this ministry and will share in the rewards in the blessings in heaven one day that will come as a result of what God is doing right now through Bibleline ministries.

If you haven’t given a gift for the month of April, maybe you might want to consider helping us out. You can do that by credit card with the phone or you can call and ask for an envelope and we’ll send you an envelope with our address on it and you can mail your gift to Bible Light. We’re excited about all the things that are happening ingred. Thank you for being on board with us today. We have lots of offer questions.

We’ll be taking those. We’ll also take your live call if you want to call us at 1-800-576-3771. I think I’m going to begin right now with some questions. We have Michelle in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She calls in and leaves us off her questions. She says, inviting Jesus into your life is the most important prayer you’ll ever pray. First, admit to Him your center. Repent of your sin. Why don’t you tell people that? Well, it’s interesting, Michelle, that that is not the gospel.

I was a victim of that for the first 18 years of my life. Every Sunday we had a moment of silence where we were told to invite Jesus into our life or into our heart. We would sing a chorus, into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus, come into day, come into stay, come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Well, I did that every Sunday. 50 Sundays out of every 52 Sundays I’d never missed church unless I was really sick.

And if I did it from 6 to 18 which is probably reasonable, for 12 years I did that 50 Sundays a year that 600 times I invited Jesus into my heart. He never came in. I was never saved because that’s not the gospel. To be saved, Michelle, you have to TRUST trust Christ that he died and shed his blood at the cross to pay for your sins. Inviting Christ into your life is not the gospel. You can ask Christ to save you every day of your life and still go to hell.

I was so shocked, when I read the story of the crucifixion in my Bible, and I found out that both thieves asked to be saved. Did you know that? Both thieves asked him to be saved, but only one of them was saved. The one that trusted Christ was the one that was saved and Christ said to him, today, that I shall be with me in paradise. I got really angry the night I got saved because I said I was misled.

Every Sunday I was inviting Jesus into my heart. I didn’t learn until I was 18 that I had the trust that he died and shed his blood and washed away my sin by his death at the cross, and if I would only trust him, I would be saved. You know the word believe occurs over a hundred times in the gospel of John. I won’t tell you how many times because I’d like to leave that challenge open for all of our listeners, and if you think you get the right number, call me and I’ll tell you whether you got it right or not.

But over a hundred times, the Greek word is bestuo, p-i-s-t-e-u-o, p-i-s-t-e-u-o, and That means the trust to rely upon, put your confidence in the rest your weight upon. I had never done that. I had never trusted Christ. So it’s a tragedy and I warn people, don’t invite Christ in your life because that’s not the gospel. The gospel, Michelle, is the trust. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. 1631, believe meaning to trust on Christ. Jesus said in John 647, he that believeth on me, that it means you trust on him, has everlasting life.

Also, yesterday we covered on our program the phrase repent of your sin, that doesn’t even occur in your Bible. Nowhere, nowhere. And obviously, we have really been duped by the devil because the English word repent doesn’t mean the same thing as the Greek word metanoia, this translated repent. And that was a translation error made back in 1611 that’s caused us grief ever since. The Greek word Michelle is metaneo. M-E-T-A-Metta means change. Noya means mind, and the two words together, meta and noya, metaneoya, mean a change of mind.

And as you read the Bible, the change of mind in the book of Acts, at least in almost every case, is a change of mind about how your sins are paid for and who paid for them, that Jesus Christ is God. He’s the Messiah who came just as the prophets had said that He would. And when you change your mind about who He is and how your sins are paid for, and how you’re saved by trusting Christ, God saves you.

Nowhere does the Bible say repent of sin, period. And it’s crazy anyway, because if you know the meaning of the word repent from the Greek metanoia, change of mind. The phrase, repent of sin, would mean change your mind about sin. I don’t know about you. I always thought sin was wrong. Would all of a sudden, if I have this revelation, I need to repent of my sin, change my mind about sin and say, Oh, my goodness, sin is wonderful.

Where have I been all my life? I used to think it was wrong. And now I think it’s wonderful. It doesn’t even make any sense when you understand and the problem is that people are going to their English dictionary, not going to their Greek dictionary. If you get a concordance, we sell them here in our Resource Center. What a wonderful tool that is. Sticker than a phone book and has every word, every view, every dowry and every better be shout.

And with a simple number code system, you could look up the original word in the Hebrew or Greek and what it meant and how it’s translated. You have access to the scholarship of 200 Greek and Hebrew scholars for just a few dollars. What a tool Michelle I Was a victim of exactly what you’re saying here, which is not the plan of salvation And so we don’t invite Christ in your heart or into your life. Did you know by the way?

This is so interesting That’s a consequence when you trust Christ. He does come in But also, another consequence is that you as a believer, Michelle, are placed into the body of Christ. But I don’t see people focusing on that one. Why don’t they go around and say, as they want to talk about consequences, that we ought to get into Christ’s body. Get into Christ’s body. You need to get into Christ’s body. If you want to be saved, you’ve got to get into Christ’s body.

Right now, get into Christ’s body. What is the counterpart of inviting Christ into your life? Both happen as a consequence of trusting Christ. When you trust Christ, not only does Christ come into your body, but also you are placed into Christ’s body. Did you know that? But why do they pick it on one consequence and not the other? I think if Angelus thought to say, get into the body of Christ, get into the body of Christ, you have to get into Christ’s body.

Right now, get into Christ’s body. Why did they focus on just having Jesus come into your body? There are about probably 40-50 consequences that happen as a result of trusting Christ. And here we are focusing on a consequence which doesn’t save but happens at the moment of salvation to all that believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Michelle, I’m so glad you wrote in with this question and I hope I’ve helped here and I I hope you’ll take a fresh look at these phrases which most preachers and evangelists are using that are not the gospel.

I did that from the time I was a little boy till I was eighteen, I was never saved, and when I finally heard the true message that if I trusted Christ and His death and shed blood as the means of my salvation I would be saved. I really was angry at my church because I was confirmed and baptized, homogenized, tasterized, capsized, colonized. You name it, my church brought me through the system and yet I was never saved. And I said, how could they let that happen to me?

I would have gotten saved at a younger age if only someone had explained the gospel to me. Okay, we have some live collars here. Now let me give you that phone number it’s 1-800-576-3771 and we’re going to go to Tom in Richmond, Virginia and Tom welcome to Bibleline your own year. Hey, my question this morning is about the forms of exercise that come through the eastern religions such as like yoga, Tai Chi or even some martial arts. I understand that they started as peg and worship rituals but nowadays could a Christian use those and is it safe?

I don’t think so. I really… the I would say that you would refuse to do that. If you put your children in a program like that, I would tell them that you’re not going to let your children recite the matras and your different prayers because it’s pagan and it’s anti-cada, anti-Christian, and I wouldn’t do it. So I’m talking about poor adult and adult don’t into it knowing that they… Well I think the health benefits are fine but I think I would let it be known that you’re taking a stand that you’re not going to participate in the pagan prayers and rituals.

uh… in much is that they ask you to recite i would be that part and if they can if that means you don’t get to be part of the program i would then opt out okay so as long as you i don’t think there’d be a problem that i think you’d be a witness to everybody there and say hey i’m not doing this because i’m a christian and this has to do with false gods and uh… and i’m forbidden in the bible to uh…

worship or pray to or other prayers to false gods and i’m not going to do it and then one of common to hang of it of notice on christian we get out there loud with the number of those that’s what this new class i’m going to be teaching how begin to excuse these all about because of that very thing and uh… it’s uh… actually going backwards these people are just dipping back into the past and pulling up that theology at the time of the reformation and instead of moving forward and and also learning how to interpret the bible they’re clinging to doctrines that they would have to deny if they took the Bible literally.

But they’d say the Bible doesn’t mean what it says literally. They spiritualize it, algeres it, and say things are metaphorical. And it all has to do with how they approach the Bible. If you take the Bible literally, you’re going to wind up agreeing with me and all the others that obviously believe in a literal return of Christ at the Rapture for the Church. and then seven years later to come back and rule and reign in a literal thousand year kingdom here on this earth.

I agree with it. That’s what I’ve seen by studying the word. But do you think this is kind of a sign of what’s getting closer to the end here? I think false teachings really getting out there. I think absolutely right. This is a false teaching and second Peter chapter three, Peter tells us in the last days in verse two that in verse three they would say where is the promise of his coming and they’re ridiculing those who teach the rapture and they’re saying where is the promise of He’s already come in judgment in AD 70 and the book of Revelation is not future.

It’s historic and has already been fulfilled back in AD 70 that the tribulation period was AD 63 to 70. The second coming was a judgment of God when the Romans came against Jerusalem and the temple and basically were in the kingdom and it’s just absolutely nonsense. That’s all right. Got a bunch of and that’s Tom if in Richmond, Virginia calling in and this is absolutely true We are involved in a real end times event today. We have James in Offendale, Florida wants us to clarify what would you’re saying about salvation that I was explaining in the beginning and He’s on the line here.

So let’s talk to him and what is the question James? Yes, I just caught the tail end of the last using the salivation story and your plan of salivation. Could you just repeat that again, tonight? I want to make sure I understood exactly what she said and what you said. Well she was saying to be saved you had to invite Jesus into your life. And of course there’s nowhere does it ever say that in the Bible. We are saved when we trust Christ and His death and shed blood at the cross, His barrel and resurrection.

I was a victim in my church where I was told to invite Christ into my heart. I did that every Sunday and my theology was based on a chorus that we sang in our church into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus, come into day, come into stay come into my heart Lord Jesus well that course is all messed up and I had several prayers based on that theology I said Lord if you ever came into my heart before And you left, would you come back and this time, would you stay?

Or Lord, if you never came into my heart, would you come in today and would you please stay? And obviously the chorus teaches you can lose your salvation because Christ can come into your heart and then He can leave and you have to invite Him to come in before He comes in. And all this nonsense which I went through for the first 18 years of my life, and finally I heard the wonderful gospel that if I would trust Jesus and his death and shed blood that he was buried in the dead, I would be saved and I got saved in 18.

But this is a common invitation for salvation which is really asking for a consequence of salvation. In other words, it’s like asking God, I don’t want to go to hell. Lord, don’t let me go to hell. You can ask that every day of God and go to hell because when you trust Christ then the consequence is you won’t go to hell. It’s like asking Lord I want to go to heaven. I want to go to heaven. Every day Lord take me to heaven and pray that every day and go to hell.

You have to trust Christ and then guess what? You will go to heaven. So going to heaven and inviting Christ into your life, he will come into your life when you trust him but to invite him in is not the means of salvation as both thieves on the cross ask to be saved but only the one that trusted was saved. Correct. Was there a scripture that she referred to? I thought, no, yes, it could be referred to. No, no, she doesn’t have a verse at all that says invite Christ into your heart.

Now, a lot of people use Revelation 3.20. Behold, I stand on the door and knock and if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in. But that’s not talking about the door of your heart or your life. If you read the context, it’s the church door of La Cia de la Decia and Christ was wanting to have fellowship with the people in that church and he said, I’m knocking on the door of your church.

If anybody in the church will hear my voice and open the door, I’ll come in and have supper with you. He’s talking about fellowship. He’s not talking about being saved anyway. And so that is not a verse that says what they think it’s saying. It’s really talking about the legacy in church being self-sufficient, leaving Christ out of their daily worship and Christ’s thing. I would love to come into your church and have fellowship with you folks. But would anybody listen?

I’m knocking out here and I want you to open the door to your church and I’ll come in. It’s not talking about the door of your heart or salvation by inviting Christ into your heart. When I’m so winning, I’m used to using the Roman road. I’m still on the right track of mine. Yeah, I think so. I really don’t like the Roman road because Romans 10, 9 presents a whole new bag of problems because how it’s misused in many churches to say that you have to make a public confession of Christ to be saved, which is not true.

You simply trust Christ. And I think verse 10 explains verse 9 that when you believe you’re made righteous, when you confess, you’re confessing unto the salvation that you’ve received. It’s really talking about us witnessing after we’ve become saved. Then watch scripture, what do you suggest? I just use, well we have a nice wonderful plan that we use all the time that we’ll be glad to send you if you just ask my operator for our seven-step plan on how to lead someone to Christ.

And we have a book on evangelism that explains how to use that very flexibly. But I like to use John 3.16 and Ephesians 2.89 and the verses that deal with the issues of works versus faith and how that we’re saved when we simply trust Christ. And then 1 John 513, the written guarantee verse that says, if you believe God has written this to you that believe on Christ that you may know that you HIV you have eternal life. Right.

1 John 513 is a wonderful verse. I appreciate you very much. Talk to them with me and clarify it. You’re welcome James, James and Auburnell and we’re glad that we’re reaching over there to the middle of the state of Florida, to Auburnell, Florida, a very beautiful part of our state. I recommend the book we have your handbook to personal evangelism. It is incredible. It tells you how to open your mouth, what to say when mouth is open, how to close it, and not to add confusion to the witness, but to have it as clear and as simple as you possibly can.

We have another incredible book called Understanding Roman Catholicism. It takes the Roman Catholic Catechism, which is about as boring as reading the phone book, and it takes 37 critical doctrines that are taught in the Catechism and then quotes scripture for each of those and you can make up your mind. The Bible is only 12 dollars, but this is all the work that’s done for you. The quotes are right there out of the catechism. I have the latest catechism within a couple of feet of me right now.

But I tell you, it’s lengthy like reading the Ellipages. And this book takes up the quotes on 37 doctrines and makes them clear. pages. And this book takes out the quotes on 37 doctrines and makes them clear and then quotes the scriptures versus the catechism on those doctrines. You’ll find it a wonderful tool to talk to Roman Catholics with. I’m Dr. Ancklin Striman. This is Bible Eye and we’re coming to the end of the first half of Bible Eye and I hope you attend church somewhere this weekend.

You’re welcome to come and visit us either on the internet, wherever you might be, or on actually live coming here and actually visiting with us. We’re right next to Tampa’s airport, and I hope you’ll attend church someplace, but you’re welcome to join us as well. Don’t forget we have that class coming up next Tuesday. I hope you’ll come and sit in the class or take it by internet. You can call and get the CDs and the passcode to take that class for just a gift of $50.

I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, and we’re gonna take a break. We’ll come back and do a second half hour of Bibleline. So stay tuned or go to the internet and catch it on your internet for the full one hour Bibleline program. God bless, we’ll be back in just a minute. Don’t go away. Stay tuned right here. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. All right, I’m Dr. Englinsterm and it’s wonderful to be able to be with you every day.

I look forward to it and I want to thank you for tuning in to the broadcast and being a part of my blind as we come to you each and every day. Hope you’ll take advantage of our special. We have this class coming up Tuesday all about this nonsense about there is no rapture and there is no thousand-year millennial kingdom and all of the book of Revelation has already been fulfilled. That is certainly not true. And we’re going to be talking about interpretive methods.

We’re going to be talking about where these dead doctrines have come from and how those that believe them obviously have gone backwards and away from their Bibles, although they claim that they’re getting closer to the Bible. And we’re going to have a great time. You can take that on the Internet. If you just call in and order the CDs of that, we’re going to give you the passcode and you’ll be able to watch these classes wherever you might be.

But if you live in the area, we’d love to have you come and sit in the classroom. But in the case it will be available on DVD, it will be available on CD when we get done with these ten hours and I think you’ll find it very, very helpful. By the way, we’re going to go back to Israel. We’ve got a trip that we are working on to leave in October and it’s going to be marvelous. And if you want to go on one of the most exciting journeys of your life, we just got back in.

but in the trip was transformed. Their lives are different because they made this journey to the Middle East to Israel. The Bible becomes alive to you in a wonderful way. If you’re curious at all, would you please give us a call here and leave your name and phone number on a list that we might contact you and talk to you as we develop the plans to go. I will probably go again in March of next year as well. So whether you could go in October or whether you could go in March, we’re probably going to do two trips and we want you to be apart of this exciting journey.

It’ll be trip number 15 for me and we’re going to have a super, super time. Also, we want you to know that this is the month of April. Have you helped Bibleline this month? If you haven’t, it would really be a godsend because we have to pay the bills to keep these programs coming to and we know that the only support we have is from our listeners. Would you consider giving a gift? No gift is too small, but if you could give a generous gift, it would be a blessing.

You could do it by phone, by credit card, you can also call and ask for an envelope to be sent to you with our address. And God bless you. We have many that are on a fixed income. They’ll send me $3, they’ll send me $5, and I’ll tell you, it helps. It helps. We don’t pay any salaries so all of this money really goes. We’re excited about how the Lord has opened the door to go to African-owned shortwave. That’s not going to cost us anything.

Stay tuned. We’re going to go to the second half of Bibleline. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Linz from a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lynch. All right, we’re by for night break and this is Bible and we’re coming to you live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and we look forward to being with you each and every day.

And I hope that you will listen each and every day. This is Friday. We’ll be back again live on Monday, but if you’re in the Tampa Bay area, you can hear us Saturday and Sunday. That’s right. We’re on seven days a week here in Tampa. Tampa. Many other stations carry our programs on the weekend, and I don’t know what times they are. You’ll have to call your local station and say, hey, is Bibleline on during the weekend on your station or at other times?

And I’ll be glad to tell you. And then you’ll be able to maybe catch it. But of course, the Internet allows you to listen to us anytime of day, wherever you might be. So if you are in another country or on vacation or at a relative’s house, if they have internet, you can catch my blind. My sister lives in Ohio and we don’t broadcast in her area of Ohio. And so she goes to the internet and listens every evening to the Bible and program.

And that’s exciting. That we have people around the world that do that. And as I just mentioned in the first half of the program, we got a wonderful email from a family in England that watch our worship servers listen to the Bible and radio programs in England and they have since gotten their phone number and we’ve had about five calls from them so far this week from England. So people around the world are listening to the Bible and we’re now getting an open door to go into Africa on shortwave will cover the whole continent.

An hour a day, can you imagine, God has opened a great door here. It’s going to be free to us. We won’t have to pay for anything except our production and getting these programs to them. But otherwise, the air time is free. Can you imagine one hour a day? And we believe that Africa is ripe for this. We have such a blessing when we went to Israel to meet people in Africa that we’re in Israel visiting that listened to our Bible and radio programs on the internet.

We met a wonderful group of Nigerians and we invited him to come out to our hotel to our evening Bible study. About 30 or 40 of them came. One of them stood up and said, he listens to Bible lines in Nigeria. Wow, one of the chances of that, I thought, about zero. But the Lord did that, I think, to encourage me to really put the pedal to the metal to make sure that we don’t miss this opportunity to go to Africa with the gospel of Jesus Christ through Bibleline.

And we’re going to be doing that. By the way, it’s April. Tomorrow’s my birthday, by the way. So tomorrow there might be a slight tremor on the Earth as the Earth rolls over one more notch for me. But any case, this is a special month for me. But if you could help us here at Bible Eye, it would really be appreciated. You could do that by credit card over the phone or you could send a gift by mail. If you need an envelope with our address printed on it, just call the 800 number, our operators will be glad to send you an envelope so you can send a gift to Bible and God bless all of you who listen and we love you and thank God for you because it’s your partnership with us that makes these programs possible.

And we’re excited about being able to reach out with the message of Christ around the world through the internet and now going all across the continent of Africa on shortwave. We’re very, very excited. We have a caller from Daytona Beach, Florida. We’ll talk to you in just a second. Let me give you the phone number, 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771, and this coming Tuesday, we’re starting an exciting 10 hours of teaching called End-Time Controversy, and prophecy is being fulfilled before your very eyes even in this latest attack by Preterist who are coming out of the woodwork to say there is no rapture, there is no tribulation period, there is no…

thousand-year kingdom coming up here on this earth. And it’s really a direct attack on the Bible. And Peter tells us in 2 Peter 3 and verse 3 that in the last days people would come out and say, where is the promise of His coming? And would you believe it is coming out of Christian circles? It’s coming out of Christian circles. It says in 2nd, 3, 4, that in the last days in Christian circles that they would would not endure sound doctrine, but they would want to have their ears tickled and .

. they would turn away their ears from the truth and be turned on the fables or lies. . Oh, it’s amazing. . We’re going to have fun teaching this and explaining how to interpret your Bible to defend . . what you believe and why you believe it. Know that you’re right on target with the Bible. . .

And I hope you’ll take it by internet if you can’t come in person. . We have a special, if you will just order the 10 CDs, 10 hours of teaching will send them to you when we finish the class. Give us a call and sign up for that. We have Zay, I hope I’m pronouncing that right, in Daytona Beach in the first time caller and welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey, make sure your radio is turned down because it’s echoing in the background. Okay, I’m sorry. This is Zay. How you doing Dr. Hay? I’m doing. I just, for me? Yeah, sure do. Go ahead. Okay, I just wanted to know, is this talk hope for, because I believe that, you know, obviously I agree with what you say and I saw that by the grace of God as I started reading the Bible about the same age you did by the 18th and I saw that the only way to be saved is through faith in Jesus Christ.

Now being there to say is it possible to believe that the method is to baptize the Pentecost that one day that all these churches can become one church and see the light also? I’ll hang up now and listen to your answer. I always pray for people to be saved. And many are in churches that are really spiritually dead and have no spiritual life. When I was at the University of Florida as a young person, as a Christian, I visited about every church, as an asim and spasm that was out there.

And I was shocked to find out that very few really taught the Bible and many that I interviewed didn’t even believe the Bible. You have pastors in churches that are not saved themselves. I had a dear friend of mine that used to take classes from me and he pastored in Atlanta, Georgia. And he told me the story that he was playing tennis with another pastor. And he asked him a question. He says to the pastor, I noticed that you prayed at the PTA meeting last night where both of them had children.

And he said that you did not close in Jesus’ name. He just said in his name. And the pastor said, Grady, that’s because I don’t believe you have to trust in Christ. And he said that I’m a minister just because it was a profession I chose. And my friend Grady was just absolutely blown right off the tennis court there, they were out talking about this thing. And you know, it’s amazing that there are pastors who don’t know the Lord.

And I began to met him. I met one that was ahead of a student union there at University of Florida when I was there and he graduated from a seminary, I mean a seminary and he didn’t believe the Bible is the word of God and he didn’t believe in heaven or howl and I said why don’t you get another job? Why are you here parading as a religious student union of a denomination offering spiritual advice and guidance to students when you don’t even believe the Bible?

I think you ought to resign. You know, how do you got to get out of here? Well it’s craziness, but we have a lot of people in pulpits, and I do pray that they would trust the Lord as our Savior. Zay, I know you have a compassion for the lost, and we’re praying for all of these in different churches. I was raised in a church, and I don’t think anybody in the church I was raised in was saved, including the pastor.

Thank you. When I got saved, I thought everybody in the church would rejoice when I told them I tested money. I trusted Christ and all of a sudden controversy broke out and they said, you can’t know you’re saved. They believed in works for salvation. When I told them I knew I was saved right there on the spot, they said you can’t know that. You have to wait till after you die to find out whether you’re going to have it or not.

And I realized, whoa, these people don’t have a clue. And I didn’t realize that until I began to share what I believed about Jesus Christ. We have Armando in St. Petersburg and Armando. Welcome to Bibleline Year on Year. Good morning, Dr. Lindstoff. Yeah, good morning. You’re right there. And you’re here? I hear you. I was watching a documentary on TV about North Arc. Yes. and they show the place where they are uh… uh… rested and there was a big it was like a big amount and with a lot of uh…

uh… you know works very very difficult to climb absolutely Absolutely. And it’s apparently frozen in a glacier, they say. I had a friend that went over there and he had a piece of the ark that I… He let me borrow. He had it put in plastic so you wouldn’t mess it up. But we passed it around our church. It’s exciting stuff. I mean, that’s certainly the Bible record is true, but apparently it’s about 14,000 feet up. And one thing they can’t explain is why there’s wood well above the tree line.

You know, about 10,000 feet and trees don’t even grow. Here you have this huge wooden object frozen in a glacier at about 14,000 feet. Seems like it could be nose art. My question is how were they able to bring those big animals down like elephants and you know Since people have so much trouble to climb the area, how were they able to bring that place? Well, you know, I don’t know the mechanics of it all, but I don’t think they were all that big I think you know when Noah put the animals in the arky probably put babies in there They don’t have to have a full-grown elephant or a full-grown giraffe All you have to do is have a baby one and when they grow up and they have babies and so on.

So I don’t think they’re necessarily big and I’m sure God made provision. He certainly got the animals to the Ark and I sure God could disperse them from the Ark. So I don’t know that problem. Yeah. I agree with you that the question came to my mind because they were having so much trouble to climb, you know, using ropes and things to get to that place. And they didn’t even get exactly to the place because it was an area that was unreachable.

So they just put photos and things on the, on, until a guy went. He went and he was able to pick up some wood from the area, but it was really hard to get it out. You know, the area where the… So I agree with you because the Bible says the Lord Jesus, you know, that makes it so much valid. The story of no one, you know, because the Lord Jesus quoted no one and everything. Sometimes, you know, questions come to our minds on those areas.

I had another question. I was reading the other… The other day a book, the writer said that when they put the new Testament together, they should have put James’ book in first place because James was the first, he wrote before Paul. I don’t know if you agree with that. And when James wrote his piece, Paul, he was still on the mentality of Acts 15 where he said that the Gentile and the, you know, the believer has to keep the, You law and that’s why he said that you are justified by works not by faith.

What do you have to say about that? Well, I think that’s totally wrong. I think James taught the same doctrine of salvation by faith alone. faith alone. He quotes just like Paul does in Romans and In Galatians in chapter 2, verse 23, Genesis 15 and 6, however, him believed, and his faith in Christ apart from works was counting him for righteousness. James is talking to believers about the judgment state of Christ and how they’re going to fail to have rewards if they don’t have works.

But never is he talking about how we’re saved by works. His letters address my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren. It talks in verse 18 about how the ones he’s writing to are those that have been born again by the will of God through the power of God’s Word and how that the one who is blessed and rewarded, James 125, is the one who serves and is working and is serving. And in James 2 he’s saying you’re going to regret one day if you don’t have work.

It’ll have works. because you’ll have no profit. Profit is reward. And so James is talking about believers having rewards. But otherwise the Bible is not necessarily put together in a chronological order. And so the arrangement of the books is not inspired and has really no bearing on what you are getting there. So hopefully that helps Armando. Thank you for your call. I’m glad you’re listening out there in St. Petersburg, Florida. We have a question here in Ezekiel. Let’s see here.

We have a caller that called in, and he says in Ezekiel 27, verses 15, I guess, to about the end of the chapter. I must have the wrong chapter because it says here the verses don’t correspond. There aren’t enough verses in the chapter I’m looking at to refer to what you’re talking about. I think you must be talking about Ezekiel 37, not Ezekiel 27. I’m confused. Josh and Braden did. Would you call back with your question because I can’t, your verses don’t match up with the Bible.

I must have something wrong here in your question. I want to give a good answer but I don’t think we have the right chapter that we’re talking about here. Call back and we’ll get that one done. Jack in Richmond, Virginia calls in and he says please explain what a parable is and what it isn’t. He goes to an adult Bible study and everyone has different answers. Do you have an article or teaching on this topic? I sure do, Jack, in fact I have a 10-hour series on CD that you can get and we go all through the doctrine of parables and how to interpret them and we go through some of the major parables and explain them and point out what they do mean.

So certainly I would recommend that to you. So I would say to you that as Christ said in Mark chapter 4 verses 10 through 12 that he spoke in parables so that for those that were without or that were not saved, that they would see but not perceive, they would hear but not understand less than any time their sin should be forgiven them. So it’s all about the disguising truth or hiding truth. They were not written to reveal truth but to conceal truth.

And so parables were stories. But if you’re not careful, a story can be interpreted many different ways. Christ interprets some of the parables for us. So therefore we really learn a lot about how to interpret them from Christ himself. He says in all the gospels that he spoke in parables for the purpose of hiding or concealing truth. We have Chris now in Plant City and Chris welcome the Bible and you’re on the air. Hello, Pastor. Hi, Chris. Yeah. Hey, I was reading, I was online the other day and I was checking out the Catholic catechism because I like to compare.

And something, I came across something very interesting. I think it was Canon Law number 841 where the Catechism claims that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. Now I just wanted to get your take on that and I’m going to hang up the list on the radio. Alright Chris, well that’s what I’m saying about the Roman Catechism and the official beliefs of the church are really pretty in many cases, far far from what the Bible teaches. And that’s why I recommend this book we have, Understanding Roman Catholicism for Gift of $12.

It takes 37 crucial doctrines from the Catechism and lays it out and then it quotes scripture that shows that oftentimes the Roman Catholic Church has strayed far, far from the Bible. But isn’t that crazy? And you hear that kind of stuff out there in this world today where they say that we believe in the same God, but they don’t. In Islam, they really pray to the moon God. Allah is the moon God. If you ever look at those minarets, we just came back from Israel and all of them at least you see these prayer minarets.

And at the top, you see a crescent moon. That’s because they are praying to the moon. They are rock worshipers, all Muslims aim their bodies five times a day to a little meteorite, 12 inches in diameter in Mecca. Every Muslim is to make a once in a lifetime journey to Mecca to bow down to this rock. They are rock worshipers. They worship a meteor that fell in Saudi Arabia. Their God is the moon, God. They are far from the truth and Islam is obviously a deception that’s blinded many people and those who die without Christ are going to wind up in hell.

My heart goes out to these people that are trapped in that religious system and amazingly how it’s growing even in the United States and around the world today when people are just looking for something but they’re looking in all the wrong places. the true and living God, the Creator of the universe, came and made a visit to the earth 2,000 years ago in the person of Jesus Christ and His claims are remarkable. We are the only ones that have a Savior.

In Islam there is no Savior, in Buddhism there is no Savior, in Confucianism there is no Savior, and Jesus is the Savior and He says, I am the Creator, I am the way, the truth and the life and no man can come to the Father but by me, John 14-6, you must trust Christ to go to heaven and praying to the moon god or worshiping a black meteorite in Saudi Arabia is not going to get you to heaven. And I’m afraid that there’s many people today that are blind and that need to hear the gospel desperately.

So Janelle in Bradenton, Fortacal said, what do you know about Lester always teaching? I believe he’s a high-participant and he believes that people before Paul were saved by water baptism and turning from their sins, that Paul came along and changed the gospel and he’s correct about salvation today and says that we need to just focus on Paul’s teaching. But I believe this is a blasphemy because if you read Lesvoli’s information on the Internet, I’ve done it many times. He believes that people in Noah’s time were saved one way, people under Moses’s time and the law were saved another way.

And from Peter to Paul they were saved another way. But that is not true. You know Jesus died for everyone. I love what Peter said. He summed up the whole Old Testament in Acts 10, 43. He says to Jesus or Yeshua. all the prophets witnessed that through his name Jesus, whosoever believeth in him would receive their sins forgiven. Peter tells us that all the Old Testament prophets, that means Genesis right through Malachi, every one of them taught about Jesus and salvation by faith alone in Jesus, and so he’s wrong.

He’s wrong. And the say that Jesus did not pay for the sins of those in the Old Testament is a A blast with me against Christ. Absolutely wrong. But yet he’s correct about salvation for right now. If you listen to him, he’ll say you’re saved by grace or faith right now. But I think it’s a tragedy that he says people in other ages were saved differently than were saved today. Janelle also says you mentioned that Russia in the end time will come against Israel.

You say that North America will be involved. in the Bible can you reference North America in prophecy? Well there’s a lot of places. First of all, in the book of Zechariah chapter 14, it says that I will bring all nations against Israel in the last days. Well I guess we’re included in that all, aren’t we? Also Daniel 7 tells us in verse 8 that there would be ten nations of Europe that were part of ancient Rome that would spawn a brand new spunky little country that would become stronger than and more powerful than Europe.

We’re the only country in the world that’s been birthed by Europe. The United States is clearly the country out of which the Antichrist will come and is mentioned in Daniel 7, verse 8.
