And so far, we’ve gotten two weeks done or classes one, two, three, and four.
When we get all done, you’ll be able to order the CDs of this set. I think it’ll be a wonderful set to have. The people that are taking the class are really enjoying you can also call If you live in another area where you can’t come to the class You can sign up and then take it over the internet We’ll give you the passcode and you’ll be able to watch it live and as often as you would During the week Let me encourage you if you don’t have a Scofield Bible you get one of those things and when you go to your bookstore They’re probably gonna try to say the new Schofield number three, which is a hybrid and I don’t like it at all because the notes are watered down They have added new notes that are not part of Dr.
Schofield’s notes and So many things have changed. I don’t recommend it. I like to the old 1909 or 1917 editions and that’s what we stock here in our resource center We also have the greatest book on evangelism I think that has ever been written about one on one. It imagines a conversation of what you’ll say and what they’ll say and what they’ll say and talks about how to talk to a Roman Catholic, how to talk to an atheist, how to talk to an agnostic, how to talk to an evolutionist, how to talk to a cult member and just will help you right through the whole conversation.
It is wonderful. It really is good and will help you shore up your faith as it will address many, many things that are… He is a very typical witnessing situation. That book goes for a gift of $12 plus shipping, and we also have it in Spanish. And by the way, it’s, on my website. If you want to go there, if you go to the home page on the left side, it says books there, and it has, we have three different books up there that you can read, and you can maybe print out a chapter or a page or print out the whole book if you want.
You can get the book for free that way except for your ink and your paper at your computer. But you’re welcome. It’s right there. Handbook of Personal Vangelism. Take a look at it. It’s right on my website on the left side where it says online books. And there are three. The Handbook of Personal Vangelism is there in the English version. And we have also two other books I think that are interesting. We We have Dr. Schofield’s book called, Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth.
And that’s excellent. And there’s 10 chapters that give you hints as to how to approach the Bible in interpreting. And that’s really where the big differences are because a lot of people have faulty methods of interpretation. And unless your Bible is in agreement, you’ve got a wrong interpretation of whatever you’re talking about for sure. We have all fair questions. We’ll be trying to take and get done today. We also have live collars. You’re welcome to call in and get up on the program live.
We already have some already waiting, but the number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And we hope that you’ll give us a call if you have a question and we’ll try to answer it on the broadcast for you. We’re gonna take a look at a passage over in the book of Romans if you have your Bible there It’s Romans chapter 4 verse 5 this verse Startled me the first time I saw it it was so contrary to what I had been taught It says here, but to him that worketh not but believeth on him That justify at the ungodly his faith is is counted for righteousness.
Wow, I couldn’t believe it when I thought to him that worked if not. In other words, works have nothing to do with your salvation and here it says to the one who does not work at all but would believe or trust on Christ who justifies ungodly people, his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. It’s an interesting chapter Look at verse 1, we’ll begin there and it talks about Abraham. In Romans 4-1 it says, What shall we say then that Abraham, our Father, is pertaining to the flesh half found.
Now Abraham is one of the great heroes of the Bible. What did he learn from God about works? Well it says in verse 2, If Abraham were justified by works, he half where of the glory. But look at the last four words, but not before God, but not before God, God, but not before God. Abraham learned that salvation was not my works. The Old Testament taught the same plan of salvation as we have in the New Testament that we’re not saved by works.
We’re saved by faith apart from works. Certainly the book of Romans, which is this incredible book of 16 chapters. By the way, we have a series on that where I taught 10 hours and we covered every verse in the book. You might want to get that series. But here it says, if Abraham were justified by works, he would have where of the glory. That’s before men, but not before God. And then it says, and here’s the answer, and of course the appeal is always to the scriptures, what’s Santa’s scripture?
Now, we’re going to find that the book of Romans, Paul here, will quote the book of Genesis. Chapter 15, verse 6, and what does the scripture say? It says, Abraham believed God. Now it doesn’t say he believed in God, which of course he did. He believed what God told him. That’s what it means. Abraham believed God, God had just told him about how a Savior would come that would be of his lineage. This was the promised seed, Jesus Christ.
And he believed that promise, and it says it was Canada and the hymn for righteousness. So how was Abraham saved? He was saved by faith in Christ. He was saved by believing the gospel. He was saved apart from any human works. It says in the book of Galatians chapter 3 in verse 8, the scripture. For seeing that God would justify the nations through faith preached before the gospel on Abraham. What a remarkable verse. You mean to say Abraham heard the gospel?
Yeah, absolutely. You mean Abraham believed the gospel? That’s exactly right. You mean he was saved by just trusting in Christ that would come in the future and not pay for sins? You got it. That’s what the Bible is saying here. It says here, Abraham were justified by works Romans 4, 2. He would have wear of the glory, but not before God. But not by God. for God. Let’s say in the scripture, and it quotes now Genesis 15-6, and it says, Abraham believed God, and it was canon in to him for righteousness.
He believed God concerning the promise that he made. If you read that 15th chapter, he talks about this promise seed that would come of Abraham’s lawns, even though Abraham and Sarah were beyond childbearing. Abraham was a hundred years of age and here he is about to have a child by his wife, Sarah. And this was a wonderful promise and he believed that promise that Jesus would come and he trusted in him. Then he goes down to verse 5 and it says, but to him that worketh not, but But believeth on him that just the 5th and godly, his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness.
By the way, some people get confused when they see the word believe and then they see the word faith. And they say, well, I believe, but I don’t know if I have faith. And they get all confused and discombobulated. What is interesting is the Greek word is the same for believe and for faith. They’re the same. The word believe is the verb form of postuo, and faith is the noun form of postuo. And I don’t know why the translators did it this way, but it is called some confusion for some.
We really could translate this and it would be accurate to say, but to him that worketh not, but believeeth on him that justified them, Godly, his belief is counted for righteousness instead of using the word faith. Because it’s the same Greek word. The Greek word is postuo, P-I-S-T-E-U-O, and it means to trust. The best English word that describes it, to trust, to rely upon, to put your confidence in, to rest your weight upon. So the Bible says you’re not saved by works, but we’re saved by trusting Christ who justifies the ungodly and our trust or belief or faith, whatever word you want to use, in Christ is what saves and is counted for righteousness.
So according to the Bible, we are made righteous in God’s sight by trusting Christ’s Savior. And by the way, the Old Testament saints were saved the same way. Look at verse 6 of Romans 4. It says, even as David, that’s King David, the Prophet David. Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man. That means the happiness of the man under whom God imputed or credits righteousness. And look at the last two words of Romans 4-6, without works.
Without works. Without works. And that amazing. Now I was raised in a church that basically implied you had to have works for you in heaven. I was always given the middle picture that there was a scale waiting after I died where my works would be weighed, good works versus bad works. And most people I think have that impression and I thought to myself, oh boy that’s going to be a scary moment. As I watched the scale at Peter back and forth, as they would apply good works, weights represented good works and weights representing bad works that I had done.
And I would watch the scale in fear and trembling my heart pumping at a high rate and hoping that I would have more Good works and bad works that would allow me to go to heaven. That’s what I was raised with. And my church obviously was wrong. Here the Bible says it’s not based upon works at all. What did Abraham find out? Verse 1, well verse 2 tells us he found out that he would have where of the glory before men but not before God.
Abraham learned that his works would not get him one inch off the planet. He will not get one inch closer to heaven by your works. You are saved by what God did for you in the person of Christ on the cross of Calvary. That’s the work you must believe in. It’s the work that Christ did that God accomplished for you and for me. And when you believe on the work that God did for you at the cross, that he fully and completely paid your sin debt, then God saves you.
Then, of course, as a Christian, we ought to live for Christ, and that’s the way we can earn rewards in heaven. But our salvation is a wonderful gift and it cannot be revoked. It cannot be given back. You cannot lose it. The Bible says… The Christ will never cast you out, John 637. He says he would not lose one person, whoever comes to him, John 639. In fact, he says that we receive at the moment of belief, everlasting life.
John 647 is a great verse. Jesus says very rarely or truthfully, truthfully. I say unto you, he to believe it on me, half or has, everlasting life. If you have it now, today, at the moment of belief, what kind of life will it be tomorrow? It will still be everlasting life! How about next week? Still everlasting life? What about a year from now? It’s still everlasting life. What about a hundred years or a million years from now? It will still be everlasting life.
It’s very clear. Once you receive eternal life, you’re going to heaven and you can’t get out of it. I tell people often, you’re stuck. Too bad so sad. Learn to live with it. You trust Christ as your Savior, and as your only hope of heaven, not by trusting works, but trusting in the finished work of Christ, you’re saved and you’re saved forever from that moment on. That doesn’t give us a license to sin. God is going to hold you accountable.
He’ll thank you as a delinquent believer, as a son born into his family, but he’ll never cast you out or lose you. Also, you’ll stand accountable for rewards at the adjacency of Christ, and you can suffer for eternity the loss of reward. Also you can be living for Christ and enjoy the rewards, the treasure that you lay up in heaven as you serve him here which is wonderful. Every believer ought to be busy as Christ said in Matthew 6 verse 20 laying up treasures in heaven and he says, he’ll be safe there.
You know what the crime rate is in heaven? It is zero. Isn’t that great? There’s no, it says thieves don’t steal in heaven. There are no thieves in heaven. So your treasure is safe. You put it in a bank, it’s not necessarily safe. Inflation, other things can eat it up. But you put it on your pillow, it definitely is in danger of being stolen. Make sure that you’re laying up treasures in heaven. They’re safe. They’ll never be stolen. I’m Dr.
Englunds from Mrs. Bibleline. It’s Friday. glad to be with you. Again, we invite you to join us for worship on Sunday if you don’t have a church that’s solid that you’re going to. You’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Okay. I have a question, but before you answer that, I’m going to give you an example. The question is how do we know what’s versus in the New Testament particularly for speaking to us individually. My example is I have a friend who’s Catholic. when I told him that I was a born again Christian and that the Holy Spirit lives in me. He just went to Zirk and he said, he started to tell me about apostolic succession and the Bible when it says the Holy Spirit lives in an individual.
It’s not talking about every individual, it’s talking about the hierarchy of the Catholic Church, and that’s the reason that their decisions are infallible because the Holy Spirit works through them, and that the Holy Spirit does not work. Dr. Hank Listerm, Tim Finley, or anybody else who’s not part of the Catholic hierarchy. Well, that’s a big lie, and obviously I have a message I delivered a couple of weeks ago when the Pope declared the primacy of the Catholic Church as being the only true church in every other church is being a counterfeit or inferior or less than where it ought to be, that salvation is dispensed through the Catholic Church, which is not true.
And I covered how that thing about apostolic session is not even true. The Roman Catholic Church as we know it today didn’t really even exist until the sixth century. And it wasn’t until about 589 there was a Pope Gregory that really begins their apostolic succession. There’s hundreds of years of just blank space. Air. They can’t trace a lineage back to Peter. That certainly is wrong in the church. Prior to that, at the time of Constantine, in the 4th century, was headed up in Constantinople, named after Constantine.
And it was later that the church divided into two branches, the Eastern branch, the Western branch, the Eastern branch, paying the Greek church and the Western branch, being the Roman branch. Both of them use the word Catholic. There’s the Greek Catholic church, and there’s the Roman Catholic Church and they’ve been in odds with each other all this time, but they were at one time one, at least as the visible church in the world from the time of Constantine. They were headed up all of them, both east and west, right there in Constantinople.
So this is certainly not true. But let’s see what the Scripture says, and that’s the final authority. The Bible tells us that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. These are God’s words. And what I recommend to people, if you look at 2 Peter chapter 3, Peter tells his readers. And that’s why Peter’s epistles are ignored. It says that you’re to be mindful as believers of the words spoken before by the prophets. That’s the Old Testament and of us and the commandment of us of the apostles.
That’s the New Testament. New Testament. So where do you be paying attention to Scripture and not believe that the church has license to make up doctrines as they go? Anyway, in 1 Corinthians chapter 1, it says this letter is addressed to those that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, which every believer is sanctified. The moment you believe, we are the Greek word for sanctified means made pure and holy, were made pure and holy by the death of Christ. In Hebrews 10-10 it says, by God’s will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
So it is by Christ offering up of His body one time for all human beings that a person is saved when they believe that. Verse 11 is quite remarkable in Hebrews 10, where it says, every priest, share this with your friend, every priest, stand up daily, ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never, the Bible says, can never, can never, can never take away your sins. The Mass will not take away your sin. It’s only the sacrifice that was actually offered at the cross that will take away your sin and it takes it away once and forever the moment you trust Christ.
But then it goes on to say that the letters address to with them in every place and every time they call upon Christ to be their Savior. So this is written everybody. Then he says in several chapters here to the Corinthian believers and to us who are later readers in other places of the Corinth, he says in chapter 16 verse 3, rather chapter 3 verse 16, no ye not that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwell within you.
It’s very clear here. He says, don’t you know or don’t you recognize or don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and that God the Holy Spirit dwells in you? In John 7, Jesus anticipated what would happen at Pentecost and how the Jews would reject Christ and God would begin His church. And in John 7, look at what he says there about the Holy Spirit as he anticipated the Holy Spirit being given to everyone.
It says in verse 38, He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. This pay key, verse 39 of John 7, of the Holy Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given because that Jesus was not yet glorified. So that occurred at Pentecost after Christ was glorified after He had been to the cross and come back from the dead. The Holy Spirit was given to all those that believe.
Not all that are members of the Roman Catholic Church, but all that believe, period. If you believe that Christ died for you, shed his blood to pay for your sins with buried in Rosalie Ginn from the dead. He saves you. And 1 Corinthians 3, 16, which is addressed to us as well. in chapter 1 verse 2 of Corinthians, though you are not, your body is the temple of those Spirit which everybody has. Hope that helps Tim. You are incredible.
Well, thank you so much. I tell you, it’s amazing how people make up things as they go, and that’s why they’re you I listen to a Catholic station every day out of respect and to gain some education. I never realized the vast difference between the Catholic faith in what I call the Christian faith. They don’t even refer to themselves most of the time as being a Catholic person. they don’t even refer to themselves most of the time as being Christians.
No, they don’t. Catholic Catholic Catholic. If you ask them, are you a Christian, they’ll say I’m Roman Catholic. There you go. And so they’re really admitting something there. We have a book here which is really fascinating in our resource center called Understanding Roman Catholicism. It takes 37 of the crucial doctrines of the Bible and quotes from the Catechism about those doctrines. And to go to the Catechism is a chore. I have three or four of them here, Roman Catholic Catechisms, and it’s like reading the phone book.
It’s not exciting. But he pulls out the quotes, and you can go back in and share enough there right there. And then he quotes the Bible on the same doctrines. And you’ll absolutely almost fall off your chair when you see how there’s a wide gap between what the Catechism teaches from the Roman Catholic Church and what the Bible teaches on the other hand. Peter, if he were the first pope which I don’t believe, certainly ought to be listened to by the Catholics and he says what you guys need to be mindful of is the words spoken by the Old Testament prophets and by us the apostles who wrote the New Testament, those are the words you need to be paying attention to, not the catechism.
Don’t they say on this show that a lot of the Catholic religion doesn’t come from the Bible, it comes from tradition with a capital P. Well that’s exactly right. They believe tradition is equal or superior to the Bible and that’s where they go wrong. And if you read what Christ said about tradition in Matthew chapter 15, he says, you have made the commandments of God of done effect by your tradition. Matthew 15 verse 9, you have made the commandments of God of none effect, none effect by your tradition.
So the traditions cancel out the Bible, they contradict the Bible and they’re wrong. And then he goes on to just really, you know, pronounce the fact that they have aired deeply and as a result they won’t be saved. Well, see my daughter was Christian Church in Sumerity Catholic and left our belief and she’s now telling me, well you don’t know what you’re talking about dad because they’ve been doing this for years and years and years. these things that you taught me over the year about the diversity of the Christian faith is wrong.
So I’m listening to see if I’m wrong, but the more I listen, the more right I pick I am. Well, I’m sure. And look at the terrible embarrassment that the Catholic Church has been to us in this thing of pedophilia. I mean, it seems like every parish has molested little boys. And obviously they just had to pay out $660 million in just one area. Of course they’ve got plenty of money to pay that, but I mean how tragic that you would go to a place which you would call sanctuary and be molested sexually by a man if you’re a boy and it apparently has happened to lots and lots all over the world.
That’s sad and it’s unfortunate and are the leaders of the Catholic Church going to heaven Even if they do those things, it seems like they don’t even have not only the belief system right, but the moral fabric of the Catholic Church seems to be pretty much torn. Okay, you’ve given me a lot to go back and teach Steve what? Thank you, Tim. And there’s some wonderful people in the Catholic Church, and they’re so loyal and devoted to the Church.
They really need to check out what the church teaches versus the Bible. The Bible is the book that Peter tells us we need to pay attention to because if you don’t, you’ll find yourself in trouble one day when you stand before God. You say, well, I believe the church and the Bible in Christ will say the church was wrong. My church was wrong. I was raised in a Protestant church, but it was wrong. I had to come to the conclusion.
I had to believe the Bible over the church. Well, I’m Dr. England Sherman. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida for our videos here at the We’re about ready to rejoin stations that have been on break and we’ll do the second half hour of Bibleline. We thank you for tuning in today and we’ll be back now for the second half. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for that break and this is Bible and it’s wonderful to be with you. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We have, I tell you, a wonderful audience. We appreciate every one of you that listen and we welcome the new listeners in different areas where we have come online. We have our broadcasts up in the Jacksonville area now on WYMM, 1530 on the AM dial. We got a call yesterday during the show, a person hearing it loud and clear in Jacksonville.
That station is so powerful that we reach over to Lake City and Gainesville and the whole I-75 corridor as well as the I-95 corridor. And so everybody in between can hear a Bible and we hope you’ll listen if you’re up in the area and tell your friends to listen as well. We are in the summertime and we are listener supported and this is a lean time for all Christian ministries. Most churches everybody will admit they’re giving drops off during the summer and then climbs back during the fall.
You could really help us if you could give at this time and obviously we’re not really trying to get your money. We just want to be on the air and get this message out. We don’t pay any salaries and the money really is funneling back into reaching us out as far as we can go with the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Would you consider giving us a gift? You can do it by credit card over the phone today.
You can also call in and ask for our address or an envelope to be sent and you can send it by mail. Of course, we will repeat the address at the end of the program. If you have your pencil ready, you can jot that address down and send a gift by mail. Any of these, thank you in advance. God bless you. We appreciate all of our listeners who make it possible for us to be on the air every day.
I’m Dr. Englund Striman. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here. Now we welcome all our listeners all across Tennessee. We’re on to Memphis, we’re on to Nashville, we’re on Chattanooga four times a day. We’re on in Richmond, Virginia, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Albany and Utica, New York, and Lansing, Michigan. We’re on in Flint and Saigonon, Michigan. We’re on a mobile Alabama, Pensacola, Florida, across the western part of the state of Florida, all over the northeast part of Florida, from southern Georgia, right all the way down, probably the Titusville and all the way back to Orlando between the stations in Jacksonville and the land floor and so on.
We’re on Sarasota at 91.5 am. I think it’s 91.3 or 5 I forget now. But we welcome all of you that are listening down south of us. We’re going to go down to the phone lines. We’re going to go to Denver, Colorado and we have Adam on the line from Denver and welcome to my line. Hi, Doctor. I have a question for you. Yes. That betrayed Jesus. I believe I think I’ve heard you say that he’s in Hades probably.
He is in Hades and will be in hell and it’s because he never was a believer. You can read John 664. Jesus said he knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and he knew who should betray him. and he talks about Judas there as not being a believer. A little bit later, a couple of verses later, Peter speaks on behalf of all the twelve disciples and he said that we believe that you’re the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And in Christ’s correction, it says not all of you. It was one of them that was not a believer and that was Judas. So it’s clear in John 6 and John 13 again, it’s very clear that when Peter thought all the disciples were clean, he said one of you is not clean. That was Judas. He was not saved, not washed of his sin. He was an unbeliever and never did change his mind but went to health when he died, not because he betrayed Christ nor because he committed suicide, but because of his unbelief.
Okay, so when he I’ve heard people say that the reason why he did that is because he believed that Jesus was from the site. He wanted him to advance the reason why he betrayed him if he wanted him to take his throne. Is there any truth to that? Well, you know, he was certainly not a believer and perhaps fell into the fact that Christ was to be a political leader. leader and was disappointed when the guy was headed downhill here and he wasn’t going to set up an earthly kingdom and free the Jews from the Roman rule that they had over them.
So all of that is possible but when he committed suicide he was remorseful for what he had done. He had really betrayed an innocent man, the Bible says, that he recognized that but he never did ever change his mind and trust the Lord as his Savior. Jesus went to hell and he’s called the son of perdition which means he’s the son of hell. And he says in Acts chapter 1 that he went to his own place upon death which was of course the place in the heart of the earth in Hades where it was awaiting for him upon his arrival.
He definitely never made heaven and you’re not going to see him in heaven. Thanks for clearing it up. All right. And by the way, the false teaching that suicide is the unpardonable sin has come from the erroneous conclusion the Catholic Church has made that because of suicide he went to hell. But he didn’t go to hell because he committed suicide. He went to hell because he never was a believer. And it’s a real lesson in the fact that you can be a believer and not a disciple.
But in Judas’s case you can be a disciple and not be a believer, which is clearly stated in John 664. And he was a disciple but not a believer and you can’t get to heaven unless you believe or trust Christ as your Savior. We’re now going to go to Bob and he’s in Old Town Florida. Quite name, isn’t it? Welcome Bob to Bible End. Good morning Dr. Hank, how are you? Good. First I would like to say, and I would like to ask a question, what about in the Bible where it says, you know, admonitions to go out to by two and, you know, they recently, how does that be seen in false doctrines, false churches, and messing with people and I, I, I, you know, I, you know, I, you know, you know what I’m asking.
Yeah. Yeah. I know what I’m asking. And I know what you’re asking there. And if a person absolutely will not listen and rejects a loving presentation from the gospel. It says one who is a heretic after the first and second admonition reject. So we are to move on. There are so many people that do want to know that are searching, I believe, that we could bring the gospel to. But as long as a person will dialogue with you and are still talking and haven’t totally rejected it, I try to stay with them.
And I have seen that I have been able to lead me It was the crisis, apparently, like you say, people hung with you and how wonderful that is. But if they clearly don’t want it, then there are those who don’t. And for example, the cult members usually don’t want it at all. They want to inflict their doctrines on you, but they don’t want you to come and inflict them with your doctrine. So in fact, if you want to test that out, the next time a Jehovah’s Witness comes to your door, ask them for their name, phone number and address.
They’ll never give it to you. I’ve enjoyed doing that so many times. I said, look, we have a team from our church that would like to come to your house and witness to you. Oh, they’ll never give you that. You’ll never get that information. Even if you had to torture them, I don’t think they’d give you their phone number and address. They don’t want you coming to their house. They want to get you into their false movement. And they’re not going to ever allow you to do that.
So the cult members don’t give out their address. They don’t give out their phone number. You couldn’t pry it out of them. And you might try that as an experiment to see what I’m talking about. It really is true. Say, look, our church would like to come visit your house and bring our message to you. Give me your name and phone number and address. And we’ll set up a time and bring over a team to talk to you. And they don’t want that to happen.
So it’s kind of interesting. And I think Bob has already gone, but he’s listening up here. But thank you Bob for that question. And definitely we should be compassionate. the Bible says in Ephesians that we’re to speak the truth in love in chapter 4, verse 15, and we ought to tell people that God loved them and Christ died for them and they need to receive it. But if they still reject it, there’s not much we can do. You can’t make a person be a believer.
We have Benjamin and Clearwater Benjamin. Hi. This is Benjamin. Dr. Hank, I just want to know, can you explain to me what I mean? I can try. 6-6 is the mark, the number of the mark of the beast in Revelation 13. You can see that in the last verse. And I think it says something about the Antichrist. 6 is the number of man. Man was created on the sixth day of the re-creative week. And here we have the Antichrist, according to 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, that will will proclaim to the world that he’s God.
He’ll do that from the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem after the rapture and he’ll say that he’s God and demand people to worship him. And so it’s saying three times over he’s just a man. Six, six, six each time you say that you’re talking about he’s a man. It’s interesting in that presentation a number of years ago called Jesus Christ Superstar Mary Maglin in the play, saying a song beautiful tune. I just love the tune of that song. And she’s saying it was a love song of Mary Maglin to Christ.
And in that song, she said numerous times about Christ that he was just a man. He was just a man. Of course, that was blasphemy because Jesus Christ is God. And the play Jesus Christ or the musical Jesus Christ Super superstar was blessed when the Senate rejected the deity of Christ and thataundering in particular said that Jesus was just a man. Now in the case of the Antichrist, he is going to be just a man, but he is going to be God.
Perhaps they oughtablo resurrect that song in the tribulation period and sing that to the Antichasures. He is just a man. He is just a man. But let me share with you an interesting parallels that it is over in John’s Gospel, Chapter 5, and it says here that I am come in my father’s name Jesus said and what that means is he has the same name as that of the father Jesus Christ is claiming here to be deity to be God and certainly the Scriptures are very clear that the claim in the Bible is that Jesus Christ is God and he says in John 543 I am coming my father’s name and you receive me not but then it says if If another comes in his own name, that’s going to be the Antichrist.
It says here, him you will receive. Isn’t that interesting? There’s going to be a fellow come along and he’ll come in his own name and he’ll claim to be gone and people will buy into it. The Bible says that they will worship this man, the Antichrist, in the tribulation period. You can see all of that in Revelation 13 as it talks about the Antichrist and then the number that is related to the mark. I think the mark means more than that though.
I think it also means it is a system. You know, if you look up the Greek, it not only means the number 666, but it also means it comes from the Greek word stigma and it means a mark, And it means more than that. It actually has the meaning to insize and punch under. And I713 you saw the paper this past weekend, but they want to chip everybody nowadays and put a marker chip under your skin. Now it’s put in by a hypodermic needle and they actually insize the skin as the needle breaks the surface of the skin.
And then they punched that rice-sized little chip underneath your skin, and then you are marked. And you’re buying and selling in your location, your political history, your military history, your medical history, your financial history, everything is right there. And you are, we’re headed toward that real quickly. And I think that we’re in the last times, and I think this is what that’s all about. So I hope Benjamin that helps a little bit and apparently you will have a number.
I’m going to show you how we memorize them in blocks. For example, I have a 7 digit phone number, and with the air code it’s 10 digits, but how do you memorize it in blocks? Like my air code is 813, and then I have a first 3 digits of my phone number and 4 last digits. and makes a total of the 10 digits. And if you had 18 digits, you would break into three blocks of equal size, and so your number would be individual to you.
would be 6 digits, 6 digits, 6 digits. So not only would it say the Antichrist is just a man, but it would also have meaning as to the number that you’re identified by that you have 6 digits that are yours, six digits a year, six digits a year, making a total of 18 digits that will probably be the number of digits that will identify you as one particular individual on the planet. Interesting. And it’s all speculation. But certainly that could be the answer as well and other ideas about the number 666.
If you’d like to call in here, the number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We just printed several hundreds of our resource sheet, the latest one, with the up-to-date items that we have there and the prices as well. If you want to call, we’ll be glad to mail you a resource sheet so you can take a look at all the things that are in our resource center. But also you can go to the Internet and you’ll find them sitting there. So if you would go to BibleLineMinistries.org or .com, go to the online bookstore.
You’ll see pictures and descriptions of everything and you can actually order from the internet and that makes it easy. Alright, we have a couple of offer questions. I think I’ll go ahead and take a couple of those. We have here Derek calling in from Inglewood, Florida and he leaves this offer a question The Holy Witnesses tell me that the Kingdom in a Linear Bible by Westcott and Hort is the original Greek text and that the King James Version is a false Greek text.
Is that true? And the answer is no. Not true at all. Westcott and Hort were part of a committee that made up their own Greek text called the critical text. And that’s a man-made text. And obviously has a lot of flaws in that text. And many of your new translations have come off that text. The English Standard Version came off of it. The American Standard Version came off of it. The New American Standard Version came off of it. And so on and so on.
So don’t believe the witnesses. I don’t think they’re being honest with you. We have Steve in Pensacola, Florida calling in. And Steve leaves this question off here, Matthew 7, 13, and 14. Well that’s talking about false prophets and how Christ says that narrow is the way that leads unto life. He’s referring to himself because there’s only one way to heaven. It is therefore narrow to get into heaven. And broad is the way that leads to destruction, talking about all the different false teachers that are out there that they will all lead you to hell and you need to choose.
And it says apparently few find the narrow way. So many find the broad way. So apparently there will be less people saved than are lost. And that I think is what Christ is saying. Just like if you had, for example, a room with fifty doors around the inside of the room, and let’s say that behind them we’re all concrete block except for one door. Well, you’d have to say that there’s only one way out of here, and God help you to find the right door.
Well, it’s narrow to go to heaven because Christ is the only door to heaven. Christ, later in John 10, says, I am the door by me, if any man enter in, he shall be saved. So the only door that leads to heaven is Christ. And if you try to get through another door, and by the way, there is no denomination, there is no religious organization here on the earth that is the door to heaven. If you’re trying to get to heaven through a religious organization, you’re missing the about Christ Himself said in John 14.6, I am the way.
I am the way. And that’s what it’s saying there in 97-13 that Christ is the way that He’s the door, that He’s the entrance. And if you try to get to heaven through your church, getting you there, you’re not going to make it. If you try to get there through keeping the commandments, you’re not going to make it. If you try to get there through baptism, you’re not going to make it, and so on. And by the way, we believe in water baptism for believers, and we’re going to do one on August 19th on our third Sunday dinner.
We invite you to come and make it a day and if you’d like us to baptize you if you don’t have a church to baptize you You could be included if you’re within driving distance to come and make that a day We’ll have a third Sunday dinner after the worship service you can come for my adult class at 915 Join the worship service at 1030. We’ll have a big lunch here provided by the wonderful cooks in our church that Cook their best home cook food and we all share and then we’ll We’ll go to a lake real close to the church here in baptized at 3 in the afternoon on Sunday the 19th of August.
You can call and get in on a list and get the details, but we will, we’d love to have you. You can meet us right at the baptism site if you want. We can give you a map. So keep that in mind also. Alright, the phone number here at Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771. And we would love to have you call us. We’ve got time maybe to catch another call or two. But we have David in Richmond, Virginia, who writes in and leaves this off their question, absent from the body, present with the Lord.
Well, that’s of course in 2 Corinthians 5, 8, that David is talking about. After the rapture, rather than us disappearing, wouldn’t our soul be caught up but not the body? It seems instead of disappearing, we would just leave a lump of flesh. Well, that might sound good, but that’s not true. When we go, we go bodily, and the Bible is very clear, that as we go bodily, that this mortal body will take on immortality, that you will be transformed on the way up.
The example of the rapture, which really, I think, is a confirmation of that as well, is Enoch. Enoch was raptured just before the flood, just as will be raptured, just before the tribulation period. And the Bible tells us that God translated Enoch, and then it tells us something very interesting. He was not found. People, I’m sure, sent out search parties and were looking for Enoch. And the Bible says they could not find him. Why? Because his body was gone.
We’re going to be bodily caught up and meet the Lord in the air, and we will not leave our bodies behind. Now I think we will leave our clothes mind, because that’s not necessary. And by the way, at the other end, we’ll be clothed in a white robe. But our bodies will go up. They’ll be transformed into our new resurrection bodies. Philippians 3, 20, and 21 talk about how when he comes, as we watch for him to return for us at the Rapture, he will change our vile bodies so that they are likened to his glorious body, and I’m looking forward to that.
So no, the bodies will not be left behind at the rapture, but I think perhaps there’ll be probably your watch, your glasses, and your clothing, and your shoes, and socks, and all that kind of stuff will drop right on the ground. Wherever you were, people will see evidence that that’s where your body stood at the last second before you were raptured up, but we’ll be changed. No, new bodies include in the white robe as we arrive at the other end, which is, by By the way, instantaneous is not any big long journey like that.
Again the phone number here, Bible 9, 1-800-5763771, 1-800-5763771. And in any case we’ll take a few more of the offer questions here. We have one from Reuben in Paul, Medoflorna. And he’s asking a question about Luke 16, 28, and 29. Well, let me turn there and we’ll take a look at that and we’ll see what that question is. Thank you for calling in from Paul Meadow to the south of Tampa. And we will see what he’s asking about. In verse 28, the passage says, I have five brothers, brothers, that they may testify to them, lest they also, or that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
This is talking about what happens after death and that there are two men here in Luke Chapter 16, beginning verse 19, you have a rich man who’s lost and a beggar named Lazarus who saved. They both die. One winds up in paradise in the heart of the earth and the other winds up in the place of torment in the heart of the earth. Well, they can see each other across an impassable gulf, but they are really confined there and the lost are still there, by the way, and won’t be brought up out of there till after the thousand year end of Christ.
And of course Christ emptied out the Paradise side and now Paradise is in heaven when he died he went down into the Paradise and then emptied it down. What is happening here is the rich man says I have five brothers back up on the earth. I would love to be able to send Lazarus back to witness to them because he didn’t want them to come to that place of torment. That’s what’s going on. And of course that’s impossible and here Abraham tells him that they have the Bible.
If they would only read the Bible, they could find the truth, but obviously they were rejecting God’s Word. We’re out of time. It’s Friday.
