Click on the camera for the worship services and also that’s the place where you’ll go to get the Tuesday classes. Right now we are studying the Gospel John on Tuesday night so we’ve done now class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Got halfway through we’re going to do 6 more hours over the next 3 weeks and we’ll finish the Gospel of John. You might want to get that series, it’ll be a good one and you can order the CDs and be able to take that class at home to enjoy it in your car or wherever and you can of course call in and place that order.

By the way, we invite you to come by on a worship day this Sunday. We’re having a spaghetti dinner. It’s a dinner that will be a fundraiser. You just come and eat and put a donation in the box when you come in. And that’s for a fundraiser within the church. But you’re welcome to come and join us for a meal as well as coming to the worship service. Our third Sunday, every month, is a dinner where you just come as my guest.

And that’s where everybody cooks their best home cooked food and we all get to enjoy a lot of wonderful food and great fellowship. And we’re going to be having a baptism on that third Sunday, the 19th of August, if you have not been water baptized and you don’t have a church where you would like to go ahead and get baptized at, we welcome you to join us here as we will be honored to baptize you and all you have to do is call and get on our list //[ your phone number and we’ll tell you the details and if you have trusted Christ as your only hope of heaven, we’ll be glad to baptize you.

It’ll be in a lake just north of the church and we’ll go up there after the lunch on the 19th and that’ll be about three o’clock in the afternoon. We’ll actually do the baptism and we invite you to be a part of it. That’d be great. We’re going to get into the Bible and then we’ll be answering questions you can call in here if you’d like at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771, and we’re coming to you live out of Tampa, Florida, and we have two gentlemen in our studio here that are volunteers taking the phone calls, and you can call in at any time now if you’d like it, 1-800-576-3771.

We’re living in exciting times and I believe Christ is returning soon and we know that the Bible tells us that there will be a rapture next on God’s program and that will conclude the present age in which we live which is called the church age and that began at Pentecost and we believe in the rapture the bride of Christ will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. You see these wonderful teachings of the New Testament in type in the Old Testament.

I love the book of Genesis, the book of beginnings. You’ll notice in chapter 22 of Genesis you have Abraham enacting out the gospel message and you see the crucifixion of Christ. Abraham offers up his only son. Isaac. And it’s a picture of God offering up his only begotten son, Lord Jesus Christ, to pay for your sins and mind. You see in that beautiful chapter the whole story, the three days and three nights, you see the substitutionary death of Christ pictured as the ram is caught in the thicket and offered up in the place of Isaac and he is set free as Christ’s death sets us free from the penalty of sin and death and we’re eligible to go to heaven.

We see see the resurrection of Christ in the sense that Isaac lives and is not slain, but the lamb is slain in this place. And then we actually see the ascension because we see Abraham coming down from the mountain, but Isaac never comes down. He’s left on the mountain of the picture, I think, of the ascension of Christ. What is interesting is that right after that, the 23rd chapter of Genesis, we see the death of Sarah. And she’s buried and it’s a picture of Israel now being dead for the past 2000 years.

Christ died 2000 years ago on the cross and since then God has turned to the Gentiles and Israel has been set on the sideline waiting of course for the church age to be concluded and the rapture will happen and then of course we find that Christ will return and God will resume his program for Israel. So in chapter 22 we have the crucifixion, the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ and even his ascension. Then we have in the chapter 23 of Genesis the death of Sarah which is a picture of Israel dying for a period of time that Israel will be off the scene.

Chapter 24 is an amazing story of Abraham sending out his eldest servant. It’s a picture of God the Father sending the Holy Spirit represented by Elia’s earth into a far country. The far country represents the planet earth where He is to take a bride for His Son Isaac, Isaac a picture of Christ. So you have the whole of the Godhead in the picture. You have the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is to take a bride from a far country.

And of course it’s a picture of the church age. That’s Christ has been crucified and buried and risen again from the dead. And then ascends back up into heaven. We have Israel being placed on the sideline and is pictured by the death of Sarah in chapter 23 of Genesis. Chapter 24, we have God the Father pictured by Abraham sending out his eldest servant a picture of the Holy Spirit to a far country. The planet earth is the picture. Here he is to get a bride that is the Church, the bride of Christ, and then he returns with the bride.

It is interesting at the end of the chapter we have Abraham, Isaac, seeing the caravan coming with his new bride. He goes out to meet the bride and it is a picture of Christ coming to meet us as there is a meeting in the air coming up at the Rapture. comes back from heaven as he sees the Holy Spirit taking us up to heaven and we meet in the air. Just like Isaac goes out and meets his bride partway.

Elie Azer, the eldest servant, the picture of the Holy Spirit is bringing the bride back from the far country and Isaac leaves his home and he heads out and meets her partway. Beautiful picture of the meeting in the air. The rapture is all really pictured there in chapter 24 of Genesis Then in chapter 25 of Genesis We have Abraham marrying a second wife his first wife Sarah dies is buried and then we have Katura Becoming the second wife of Abraham a picture of God picking up with his plan for Abraham and Israel and Obviously, that’s what’s gonna happen right after the rapture soon as the rapture happens Then God will go back to his plan for Israel.

And already, I believe, we’re very, very close because the Jewish people are back in the land in anticipation of the events that will take place after the Rapture. And Christ will come back and He will rule and reign over Israel as their king for a thousand years. All that is pictured there in these beautiful types that are there in the Old Testament. It’s a marvelous study and while the book of Genesis is so rich and you can see how God had his plan outlined a long time ago.

He knew that Israel would reject her Savior and so he dispersed Israel. Throughout the world for the past 2000 years, the prophets all spoke about this and how that there would be a 2000 year dispersion. Then they would return back to their land and the Bible describes that as the latter days. We’re living my friend right now in the latter days because as of 1948, 1948 Israel became a nation again. And so we’re living in that time when they’re back in the land ready for the church to be raptured out to meet the Lord in the air.

And then we have God resuming his plan for Israel. And we’re excited about that. So it’s amazing. And the Bible is so clear. And I’m going to be a part of that meeting in the air pictured all back there in Genesis chapter 24 with Isaac going out to meet his bride as Eliezer, a picture of the Holy Spirit, brings that bride from a far country. Well, we’re the far country and Christ is right now getting his bride. You know, it’s interesting the Bible is in total agreement from Genesis to Revelation.

It certainly never contradicts itself and the same Savior is seen from Genesis to the book of Revelation. In chapter 3 we have the first promise of the coming of Jesus. It talks about the seed of the woman, which is of course the picture of Christ and a veiled reference I believe to his virgin birth because the seed is normally passed on through the man, but here it talks about a woman having seed without a man. And that seat of the woman is the Lord Jesus Christ, who in that verse is said to have been the one who would defeat Satan one day, and certainly that is the case.

Jesus Christ is the one who defeated Satan at the cross by redeeming mankind through his death and shed blood. It is the greatest story in all the world, and the whole Bible centers around this wonderful message of the love of God, the redemption of man, and so on. It’s a wonderful book, and I hope you have trusted Christ as your Savior. You know, if you’re trusting in your works, if you’re trusting in your church, if you’re trusting in your baptism, if you’re trusting in the Mass, or penance, or prayers, or confirmation, my friend, you’re not safe.

That’s right, because none of those things will get you to heaven. One of them, the only way to heaven, is Jesus himself. Jesus said it in John 14-6, he said, I am the way. And we also find in John 1-12 it says, to as many as received him. Salvation is not in a denomination or a church organization, nor is it in ritual or in rules or commandments. It is in the person of Christ himself, and when you receive Christ, God then, granted authority for you to become born again and become a child of God, a spiritual birth occurs, you become God’s very own child, he becomes your father for the first time, and this occurs based upon your trusting what Christ did for you at the cross.

So it’s very important that you understand that the only way to heaven is to trust Christ. It has nothing to do with church membership, water baptism, confirmation, prayers, penance, mass, or whatever your list might include, none of those things will save you. In fact, the Bible tells us salvation in Ephesians 2, 8, and 9 is not of works, lest any man should boast or brag. Salvation is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast or brag.

I’m so glad I’m saved. I’m so glad I heard the message. I trusted Christ when I was eighteen and I received eternal life at that moment. I still possess it and will forever because it is a gift and it is received at the moment you believe and it can be given to you at the moment you believe because all of your sins past, present and future are already paid for. Because eternal life has been purchased by Christ’s death, he can offer it to you free as a gift at the very moment you believe.

Would you trust him as your Savior right now? You could whisper a prayer, you could say something like God, I’m a sinner, I don’t understand a whole lot about the Bible, but I believe Jesus Christ died for me. I believe he shed his blood to pay for my sin debt and full, that he was buried, that he rose again from the dead and is alive forevermore. I trust him as my only hope of heaven the moment you do, that’ll save you.

I’m Dr. Englunds from Mrs. Bible and we’re going to go to the phone lines. If you’d like to call us it’s 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Alright we have Janetta in Jacksonville, Florida and Janetta, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, good morning. How are you? I’m fine, Dr. Minstrom and I just want to thank you. I just don’t but upon you very recently and I’m so thankful for that. I have two questions and I know time may not permit you to answer both so I’m going to give you the freedom to choose which question you would like to answer if I may.

I have a granddaughter who’s going to sixth grade and I believe wholeheartedly that the Bible is in Erin, it is the infallible word of God. She asked me a question about the dinosaurs. And I don’t know how to explain their existence based on what I read in Genesis. I guess the world being thousands of years old versus millions of years old. And I was wondering if you could give me some insight so that I can tell her before she gets to sixth grade and they start teaching her evolution.

And the other question was, could you explain to me that war that’s going to happen in Ezekiel 38 and 39? Is that to take place before the rapture or during the tribulation? And either question that you feel free to answer and I would appreciate anything. Well, it’s wonderful to hear from you. I’m glad you’re able to hear me up in Jackson, North Florida. And I’ll go ahead and tackle those questions right now. Okay. Alright, the latter one about Ezekiel 38, that is the battle of Armageddon.

It happens at the end of the tribulation period, seven years after the rapture. Thank God we’re not going to be here. Obviously, that’s going to be a very devastating war. And according to the Bible there, five-six of Russia will be destroyed in the nuclear war that will occur, and that is described there in Ezekiel 38 and 39. So I’m glad I’m not going to be here. I’m leaving it to rapture. On the dinosaur question, in Genesis 1-1, God created the earth originally in verse 1 a long, long time ago.

There’s no time set in the Bible. It simply says in the beginning. So I believe the earth is very, very old and that when the earth was created, it had plants, animals, dinosaurs, and all of God’s angels lived on the original earth. Isaiah 45-18 is a very interesting verse. The word created is used very sparingly and it talks there about how when God created the earth, He created it inhabited, He created it perfect and it says He created it not in vain.

Now the word vain in the Hebrew, if you look it up, is the very same word translated void in Genesis 1-2. So we learn that Genesis one too is not the way the earth was, it became that way we believe as a result of a judgment that apparently Lucifer decided to overthrow heaven and he lettery-bellion with one-third of the angels following him and when he did, God judged the earth and all life was killed, including the dinosaurs. And then God of course, Judge Satan and his angels at the same time.

And they are condemned obviously to spend an eternity in hell, but presently the angels are here. And Satan was then condemned and his angels when Adam and Eve were created. You know, if we listen to NASA, NASA says that all the dinosaurs were killed in an event that took place 65 million years ago. They say an asteroid struck in the area of the Yucatan Peninsula. You can see it on your map, that round circle. That is about 150-mile diameter piece of rock.

They say it threw up so much debris into the atmosphere that it shut out the sun’s light for millions of years, and the Earth became frozen and explains the ice ages and so on. And so probably about 6,000 years ago, God incubated the earth, or warmed it up, and in seven days had a recreated week where this time God puts man on the planet. And if you read Genesis 1-2, the earth was in that judgment flooded. It says darkness was upon the face of the deep.

We know the sun’s light was cut out. The earth probably became frozen. So you’ll note the last phrase says, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the water. The word moved in the Hebrew means to brood upon or to incubate the same word that’s used of a hen sitting on her eggs and keeping them warm and preparing them to hatch out. Well apparently the Holy Spirit thawed the earth out from the ice ages, prepared it for life again.

And in seven days you have described the recreative week where man now is put on the planet. So we have the fossil evidence of that original Earth. In the earth today in that coal is fossilized plant life and petroleum is fossilized animal life and it was trapped beneath the surface of earth all around the earth. And that was the result of the judgment that took place. So I believe that the earth had life that was destroyed. We have that fossil record in the earth and then we have life since then, I believe Adam and Eve were only here rather recently.

We have some CDs that I’ve done on this where I cover all the different verses from around through Scripture. And some of course reject this, but you know, this is what the Bible teaches regardless of what men teach. The Bible is always ahead of science. The Bible taught thousands of years ago that the earth is round in Isaiah 40-22. Finally, science caught up when Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492 and then Magellan made a journey all the way around the earth and it was demonstrated the earth was round.

The Bible also tells us that the universe was created out of God’s energy. The concept of that was finally brought to light by Einstein thousands of years after the Bible already taught it and E is equal to M.C. squared or energy is equal to the banner times the coefficient of light squared. And so God said that he creates the inverse out of his energy. Einstein finally comes along as an energy and mass are equatable and you can create matter out of energy.

And matter can be converted to energy. And that’s exactly what happens in a nuclear explosion. I see. Well, oh, Dr. Linson, thank you. You did see that if I contact Apple Line, I could possibly the order your teachings on that you absolutely can and wonderful that told my grandchildren that the flood you at the dinosaur so I was incorrect about that well you’re almost right because I believe there were two floods I think Genesis 1 2 tells us the earth was flooded it says darkness is upon the face of the deep it wasn’t till the third day of the recreative week that we have dry land appearing so I think there were two floods okay well thank you so much Dr.

Nisser and God bless you in this wonderful ministry and I look forward to continuing to listen to you all. Wonderful. Thank you for calling in today from Jackson, O’Forda and Janetta. Thank you so much for calling. We now have an anonymous caller from Brandon, Florida and welcome to by the line. Who? Pastor Hank. Yes, sir. I’m a little nervous because I’m talking on the radio so you’re going to have to bear with me. I will bear with you. Go ahead.

Okay, you know how usual was given to them in 1948, the Jews? Yes. But British Civil Op 49, correct? Go ahead. They actually were, the United Nations voted in 1947 for the establishment of the Jewish State right after World War II and the nations of the world were stunned at the concentration camps and mass murder of the Jews by Hitler. Then it was in 1948, May 14th, that Israel declared here statehood. The British had controlled that territory, but Israel fully became a state in May 14th, 1948.

They celebrated their anniversary on that date. Okay, but um, Hank, what were the British still there because they could use resorted terrorism to get them fully out of the country? No, I think they had terrorism prior to, but not after 1948, they were British. The British withdrew once they became a state. Okay, so a documentary on TV and it said that the Jews used terrorism to get the British out of Israel. Well, no doubt about it. They had to use whatever measures they could from the earliest days.

There was the Jewish people beginning to go back in the late 1800s. 1895, you’d have Herzl and others that were the pioneers, and of course in World War I, the British gained control of that whole area, and they maintained a presence here right up until the United Nations allowed for the State of Israel to be established, and the British government agreed and they backed out. So after 1948, no they were, I don’t think they were there anymore. So it was prior to that.

You’re right. It didn’t happen prior to that. Do you think it’s kind of ironic now that the Palestinians are trying to root glued out the Jewish people through terrorism? And do you think that’s how, like, I noticed that it happens to Jews. It’s almost ironic that it happens to them. Do you think that’s how just God works or… Well, the Jewish people are really paying a price for their rejection of the Lord and not following His Word. And they’re going to go through the darkest hours still ahead.

The tribulation period is really all about God preparing them to receive their Messiah. And through these persecutions they will come to know the Lord, at least a large number of them will. And then when Christ comes back they will be the subjects of the kingdom. Christ will be their king. Thank you for your call. We sure appreciate you calling in. We’ve got to go to break here in just a second. I want to remind you that tomorrow is our television day.

We thank God for all of you who listen and we have so many wonderful listeners that let us know how much they’re enjoying.

And it’s so glad. I’m so glad to be able to meet new listeners all the time who are finding us and discovering the program and maybe you can help us let others discover the program by telling your friends and neighbors and people at your church about Bible and have them tune it in. I think you’ll enjoy that. We have many things on the website.

I think it’ll be a blessing to you. We’re in the summer and July has just ended. Now we’re in August and this is traditionally a lean time for churches and ministries as far as giving is concerned. We’re no exception and you could really help us get through these summer months by maybe giving an extra gift or Giving a larger gift than normal or if you’ve never given a gift to give a gift for the first time It would sure be appreciated every gift is important and there’s no gift too small But if you give a generous gift that would be wonderful you can do it by calling in and Giving it over the phone by credit card at 1-800-576-3771 You can also call and ask us for an envelope to be sent to you with our address on it and you can mail your gift into

Bible and I want to thank you for your gifts and your prayers. You are the ones who allow this program to continue because you’re the ones who support it. Keep praying for us and I hope you have a wonderful summer. We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and we’re about ready to do the second half of Bible and so keep your radio tuned right where it is and don’t go away And here we go, we’re going to do the second half.

A Bibleline. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. We’re located right next to the Tampa International Airport. At 4811 George Road, we are so close to the airport. Sometimes I feel like I can reach out and slap those airplanes when they land.

I mean, we’re really that close. We’re just a block west, directly west, of the Tampa International Airport. So if you can find Tampa’s Airport, you can find us. And by the way, if you ever come into town, take that extra minute to come by and see us. Just get around to the west side of the airport and we’re one block west of the road that is the that is the perimeter road on the west side of the airport and we’re on George Road, do west of the airport and you can knock on our door and say hi.

Visit our resource center. We’re open every day until about 4.30. We’d love to have you come by and take a look and we’d be glad to meet you and give you the royal treatment. And, of course, if you come by on a worship day, you’re welcome to join us on a Wednesday night. We have services tonight and we’ll have services on Sunday. Sunday there will be a dinner after the service. Just give a donation as you go in and they’re having a wonderful spaghetti dinner.

It will be a fundraiser for our Sunday school classrooms and you can eat a lot of spaghetti and have some great fellowship. But it’s our third Sunday of the month is of course our real fellowship Sunday. We’re excited about that And we hope that you will come out and join us. You can come at 9.15 and join my adult class. You can come at 10.30 and join us for the worship service. And then you can stay for the dinner, be my guest.

And then in the afternoon, we’re going to have a baptism. So if you’ve not been water baptized, and you would like to, if you’re in driving distance, to join us, you’re welcome to do that. I know we have some people coming a distance that will want to stay with us for the dinner on the 19th of August and then stay for the baptism. It will be at 3 in the afternoon. We will be going from the church to a lake just a little bit north of the church where our church members are beautiful.

Lawn goes right down to the lakeside and we will have a wonderful outdoor baptism which I love the outdoors and that is what we are going to do. Every time we go to Israel, and I’ve been 14 times who were there earlier this year, we baptized people in the Jordan, and we did that this year. That’s always exciting, and maybe if we get to go next year, you can go along with, maybe we’ll baptize you there. That would be a lot of fun.

In any case, pray for Bibleline. We need your prayers, and we covet your prayers, and also we could use your financial help because we have no other means of paying the bills and keeping these programs on the year. We’re totally, absolutely, totally dependent upon the Lord and of course upon our listeners who give who make this possible. So if you would be willing, help us through these lean summer months by giving a gift, maybe giving a little bit extra, it would be greatly appreciated.

You can do that by telephone by calling in and using the credit card or you can call in and ask us to send you an envelope with our address printed on it. God bless you. Thank you all who gift to and pray for Bibleline. We appreciate you so much. Well, here we go. We’re going to go back to the phone lines. We’ve got a lot of callers. 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go to Brad and Clearwater. Brad, welcome to Bible and you are on the air.

Okay. I’m on the air now? You are on the air. Oh, okay. Good morning, Pastor Lindstrom. Good morning. I have a question concerning some of you had told your listening audience in the past. I’d heard it before. I was wondering what you mean by your, when you say the unbeliever will be and killed because I’m always thinking about, you know, like a method of execution, like in this Robert Bonne War movie I saw where you got executed at the end.

Anyway, I’ll hang up and listen to your comment on radio. All right. Well, it’s not a pretty picture, but the book of Revelation and Matthew and in the Old Testament as well, it tells us that the Second Coming Christ will send it as angels and he’ll gather all those that are unsaved and he’ll bring them into the Valley of Jehassafat. And there Christ says He will stomp on them and crush them. The blood will flow out of their bodies and form a river 200 miles long as deep as the horse is bridal.

When we sing about him, the battle of him and the Republic, it’s talking about that. It says he is loose, the fateful lightning and his terrible swift sword and he’s trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored and then glory, glory, glory, hallelujah and so on. People love that him but they don’t realize what a gruesome picture it is. It’s Christ letting loose with his fury and his anger against all those who have rejected him and he will trample them.

That’s right, he’ll trample them and the Bible says that a river will be flowing 200 miles long as deep as the horse is bridal. That’s a lot of humans killed. I think perhaps billions. I did, I’m a graduate in electrical engineering and math was always my favorite subject. And I did the math on this one time. I knew the width of rather the height of the river, the horses bridle. I knew the length of the river 200 miles. I didn’t know the width of the river and I figured out that every human has about six quarts of blood.

I figured out the volume of six quarts. I figured out how many people would have to be slain to have a river with the height of horses bridle 200 miles long, 2 foot wide, 3 foot wide, 4 foot wide, 5 foot wide, and so on. And apparently billions will be killed. There are 6 billion people on the planet. I believe the majority will be unsaved when Christ returns at the end of the second coming. And Christ will crush them.

He will crush them with his feet. The Bible says just like when they would get into the wine press and stomp on the grapes with their feet and the juice would be crushed out and be collected. So will Christ crush the unbelievers in the winepress of the wrath of God and the blood will flow. And when you sing the battle hymn of the Republic the next time, think about what I just said because that’s what you’re singing about. You’re singing about Christ coming back and ultimately taking over this planet and ruling and reigning as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Brad, I hope that helps. Maybe that’s not what you thought, but that’s what’s going to happen. We have Carol in Richmond, Virginia and Carol, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hello. Hi, Carol. Good morning. Good morning to you. Dr. Lindstrom. Yes, ma’am. I have two questions that I would like to ask you concerning two separate passages of the Bible. One is on Act 1038. I would like to know why God had to anoint Jesus with the Holy Ghost.

Okay, and that’s it. Is that the second question? The second question is 1 Corinthians 13 verses 8 and 10. That’s dealing with the tongues issue and I know what you’re saying on that. But I want to know what it means when it says that when that is perfect it’s calm. I want to know what is speaking of and that. All right. Let me go for the first one. Jesus is the God-man. And as a man, he was anointed and empowered with the Holy Spirit.

That marked the beginning of his ministry. When Christ did no miracles and he did not begin his ministry until after the baptism of John, and it was at John’s baptism that the Holy Spirit lighted on him, came down like a dove upon him, and the Holy Spirit empowered him. So he was a man, dependent upon John as we are, and it was the power of the Holy Spirit that resided on the man Jesus and enabled him to do what he did.

on the cross. It was the man Jesus that died. God and I or God can’t die, of course, but it was the man Jesus who died. So I think that helps maybe give a little clarification and we’ll fully understand that when we get to heaven. But Christ was anointed, the Old Testament priests were anointed for service when they were 30 years of age by a baptism and Christ was exactly 30 years of age when he was baptized. So I think it was the fulfillment of the Old Testament type that he began his Priestly ministry at 30 by being immersed and being baptized and marked at the beginning of it.

And the Holy Spirit came upon him at that moment. As far as the Corinthians thing, in 1 Corinthians 13, 8 through 10, it talks about tongues would cease and also two Ettagiffs are listed there. The gift of prophecy. The term perfect is used to the Scripture. What some of the Pentecostals will say in defense of their position is they’ll say it’s talking about the Lord’s Spirit. In Psalms 17 it says the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul, making wise the simple.

And so the term perfect is used in the scripture. What some of the Pentecostals will say in defense of their position is they’ll say it’s talking about about Christ, that when Christ has come, He is perfect. When He comes back, then tongues will cease. But it cannot, because in the Greek, everything has a gender ending, and everything there in verses 8 through 10 is neuter in the Greek, and it must refer back to a neuter subject. Well, Christ in the Greek is masculine.

Christos, the O.S. ending, makes it masculine. Just like Theos, the OS ending makes it masculine. So Christ would not be the answer. It could not refer to Christ. Some say, well this is the love chapter, therefore it must be referring to love. But it is amazing. Love in the Greek is feminine, so it cannot refer to love. It has to be talking about the word of God. And you know, that is what is evidence. When the New Testament was completed by the end of the first century, apparently tongues were gone.

The early church fathers never wrote about speaking in tongues or doing the miraculous gifts. They were gone. And they were gone through the dark ages. They were gone during the Reformation. You don’t have Martin Luther or John Wesley or John Calvin or all the Reformers speaking in tongues. They didn’t do it. And then you had the great evangelists that went out to the world with the gospel. They didn’t do it. men like Dale Moody and Billy Sunday and these guys did not speak in tongues.

The modern movement by the way began in 1906 in the Azusa Street, California incident and that was a gibberish. And the gibberish movement which is a counterfeit movement began about a hundred years ago, in fact a hundred one years ago and we believe it was a false movement. So I think it’s talking about the word of God and we have a book here by Merle Unger called the New Testament teaching on tongues, and he’s the one who wrote the Unger’s Bible Dictionary and numerous other books, a brilliant man.

And he exegetes those passages in chapter 12, 13, and 14 of Corinthians, and he nails it down forever that this is talking about the Word of God, and when it was completed the tongues ceased. It was no longer necessary as it was a means for jewish people to hear the gospel in a gentile language before the gospel really spread out to the gentile world and now it’s not necessary i’m fulfilling prophecy every time i lead a jewish person to christ because i tell them in english how to be safe and i’m fulfilling that that’s what god said he would do back in the ronomy and the first grade is fourteen quotes it it says that men with other uh…

tongues and other lips will i speak into this people and yet for all that they will not hear me say it for Lord. So tongues therefore were assigned to Jewish people. They would not hear the gospel in this age in Hebrew, but they would hear it in Gentile languages. And to have that happen on Pentecost, God had to miraculously intervene. But today the gospel is out all over the world. And Gentiles in Germany lead Jewish people to Christ in German, Christians in France leads to Christ and French.

And here in America I’m leading Jewish people to Christ in English. Thank you for explaining that to me. Well I’m like I say I knew your position on tongues but I wasn’t sure about that which is perfect but you’re saying it’s the word. It’s his word. The law of the Lord is perfect. Psalm 17 I think verse 5 or something I forget the exact reference but it says it converts the soul and makes wise the simple. The word of God is that which is perfect.

Alright, thank you so much Dr. Lynch. Alright, thank you Carol for listening up there in Richmond, Virginia and we’re on live there at the same time we are here. We have Prince George, Virginia, we have Paul. Paul, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello Paul, you’re on the air. Hi, how are you Dr. Lynch? Good. I can tell you my call, I love your program. So how can we help you today? Well, I have a question. I was in the conversation with a friend of mine who’s also a Christian, and he’s really caught up in the what is called the prosperity movement now.

I’m sure you’re familiar with that. Yes, I am. And I was astraying in that, well, of course, they take a lot of the script you ought to do around me, Chapter 28 is the blessings and they apply them to us today. I wanted to know from you whether that chapter’s blessings were solely for the chosen of Israel then or it was applicable to all of God’s children today. My thought was, you know, the descriptive talks about in the last days that leaders would use fame words to make merchandise of the people of God.

In other words, to get rich off of God’s people. And that seems to be what’s going on with the prosperity doctrine. Tell the word of God. Absolutely right. What they’re doing is they’re taking these verses and applying the promises to Israel to themselves. That’s called replacement theology as well. Those who believe in replacement theology believe God has done with Israel and they steal all the promises to Israel for themselves. But they don’t take the curses. They ought to also read about the curses here in Deuteronomy 28 because this is really addressed to Israel.

If you read it carefully, it’s called the Blessing and the Curse. Israel has come under God’s curse because they did not keep his commandments. They did not obey his voice. So they’re going through a lot of trouble as a result of it. The blessings would come upon Israel if Israel would only obey his commandments and follow his voice as he would like to guide them. They’re not doing that, but this is not talking to us, the church. It’s clearly talking to Israel and how that Ultimately God is going to restore them and if you read chapter 30 It says here about how the Lord will come Again, and this is obviously a reference to a second coming of Christ when it says in verse three of chapter 30 that then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity and have compassion upon thee and will return.

Well, if he returns, he has to have already come once. And so this is the second coming when Israel, after all of this curse for the past 2000 years, finally a remnant turns back to the Lord and he will deliver them from the curse and will return to the earth and establish them as the head nation on the earth. so this is talking about israel not us and i hope that helps that does not work it’s a sure that’s what i thought and it is how it bister is me british is nowadays i thought my friend that the scripture that i had said earlier about how that that they would use train words make merchandise off of god’s people is applicable here well opinion that if you’re not the world twenty eight is because you don’t have faith or your life is a reason to god

or anything like that and then i said well you’re getting into works because that’s because it works and that’s not how that works well you’re absolutely right and uh… and i’m afraid that we are in the end times when that people uh… are manipulating the word god for their own benefit and it and not reading carefully what it says and uh… unfortunately most of these people believe in a works salvation as well and we can lose it and and i feel my heart goes out because they will not make heaven they will all be in hell unless they recognize their works have nothing to do with their salvation and a price paid at all exactly right three verse fourteen for me so i can know how to clearly explain this to him then it says he redeemed us in order that the blessing given to

Abraham might come to the gentiles to cut faith we might receive the promise of the spirit I said exactly what is talking about the promise of the Spirit. That’s exactly right. It’s the promise of Christ and the salvation that comes through Christ and receiving the Holy Spirit comes as a result of faith. And Abraham believed and he’s called the Father of faith. And as we walk in the footsteps of Abraham to believe on Jesus as Abraham did, then we become saved.

That’s the promise. Thank you so much, Benjamin. I mean, it’s good to know that I’m on point with this and I’m going to try to uh, perfectly, uh, talk to my friend here. All right. And again, remind him that if he’s trusting in any words to be saved, he will not be saved because salvation is not a force. We have, uh, uh, I’m not too sure how to say Will’s Rado, uh, Rado in Daytona, Florida. Let’s go to Daytona Beach right now and, uh, tell me how to pronounce your name.

We’re Farron Roblin. Alright, well welcome to the battle line. Thank you sir, I called before you program. And I like it the way people talk about God and showing in the Bible what we were talking about. I like that. I like when they preach in church and use the Bible all the time. Amen. And that the way I believe it should be. I was talking to my neighbor and I was talking to her about the Bible and her husband.

And she came in and she said, I got his love and I agree, I got his love. I believe that. I tried to show to her that God is love and He is justice. I took the birth from Noah, what happened in Noah, in the flood. Exactly. And all those were unbelievers because they rejected his love or were perished in the flood. Yeah, what happened was that she believed that only a story. That never happened. Well then she’s saying Christ is a liar because Christ says as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the coming of Son of Man.

So he links himself to the story of Noah and obviously believed it and said that what we saw happened there will be happening again in the world as we approach his second coming. And so if she doesn’t believe the story of Noah then she really can’t be believing the story of Christ because they’re connected. Where’s the verse in the Bible? Matthew 2437. Matthew 2437. Thank you. You’re welcome. Thank you for calling in. We have now Mike and Mike is in Seminole, Florida.

Mike, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Pastor. I know we’re getting close to the end of the show, so I’ll try and be brief. I have a three-part question and I’d appreciate some answers, please. First what is the biblical definition of God and his will be ends not just man and if you could answer those I’d appreciate it I’m gonna get off and listen to you on the radio. Thanks. All right very good. Well sin is From a Greek word that means to miss the mark and Like in Romans 3 23 it says for all of sin that means to miss the mark and the second phrase of the verse gives us a picture where it says we have come short of the glory of God.

So if you were like aiming an arrow at a target and the arrow falls short, you miss the target. And so the Bible says anything short of being as righteous as God will prevent you from entering heaven. And all of us have sinned, all of us have missed the mark. And we’ve come short of the glory of God of the righteousness of God. The Bible says that there’s none righteous, no not one in Romans chapter 3. As far as the first reference using the word, obviously the Greek words are not going to be in the Old Testament, but obviously man sinned.

And so the first act of sin by man was back there in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned in taking him the fruit and disobeying God concerning they were not to eat of the 3 of the knowledge of good and evil. In Romans 5 it tells us that by one man sin entered into the world. Death of course followed upon all human beings as a result of Adam sin. The first sin created by or act of sin created by man was Adam sin and that caused the penalty for sin to come upon all of us.

Actually the first sin in the universe was by Satan when he over, tried to overthrow heaven. And obviously he is the, therefore, the author of sin. And he’s the first one to bring sin into the universe. And he, of course, was already fallen and judged when Adam and Eve were in the garden. And he there came to tempt Eve and to try to cause mankind to come unto God’s curse as he was unto God’s curse. But of course, God had a wonderful plan of redemption whereby we could be redeemed when Adam failed and sinned.

Death came upon the human race, but God provided a Savior in the person of Christ that all would believe that God so loved the world, the whole human race that he gave his only begotten son, that who so ever believed it in Christ? Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Dr. Hank Lindstrom. I hope that at least partially answers it. You gave me a lot there in that little bit, but thank you for calling in. We have another caller from Jacksonville, Florida, but I don’t think we have to allow see what she has to say here.

Let’s go to Colleen in Jacksonville. It has to be quick because we’re out of time. Go ahead Colleen. Yes, I just wanted to quickly ask you about this Harold camping who’s on the radio teaching the doc. doctrine of come out the churches. I can’t hardly bear to listen to him for very long because I think it’s a false doctrine. I want to know what you thought about that. Absolutely. I agree with you. I would not listen to him either.

He’s way, way, way out there. Reject that. All right. We’re out of time. I hope everybody listening has trusted Jesus as their Savior. And if you haven’t, you could just say, Lord, I’m the sinner. I don’t understand a whole lot, but I trust Jesus right now as the one who made the full The complete payment for my sin was buried and rose again from the dead. I trust him right now to save me. And God will save you when you trust Christ alone as your only hope of heaven.

We’re going to have to run, but I hope you’ll be paying attention and listening again tomorrow and that you will check out the internet site and catch our programs again and again there. And tell your friends about the program and help us grow our audience and if you can help Bibleline, call in and maybe ask for an envelope or give a gift by credit card.
