On the 19th, if you are a believer and not water baptize yet, you’re welcome to join that service. And I know we have some coming from afar for that reason. You can call and ask about that and we’ll get you all set up to go. It’ll be about three o’clock in the afternoon on our third Sunday, which is our dinner so neat and combined.
Eat with us as well. We’re teaching the Gospel of John right now and that’s on Tuesday nights. We’ve got six more hours to go. You can order that CD series when we get all finished, but also we have many other series. We have a series on the Book of Romans that’s really wonderful and also one on the Book of Jude. That’s right. That little teeny book is a transitional book between the 64 books of the Bible that preceded and the book that follows it, which is the book of Revelation.
It is like the hinge pin right there at the end of your Bible. incredible little book, powerful, and we’ve got a 10-hour series of teaching on that. If you’re curious about the Rapture, we’ve got a 12-hour series about the Rapture talking about the pre-trib, the post-trib, the mid-trib, the partial-trib, the pre-rath-trib, and all the different views out there, and why they’re wrong and the correct view being the pre-tribulation Rapture, and why, and from Scripture, it is the correct position.
We’re leaving at the Rapture. It could be this year who knows I don’t have a date, but definitely we should all be looking You know if you’re not watching for the Lord’s return You’re delinquent as a Christian because Jesus 23 times in the gospel since watch would it be watching for his coming if you’re not watching then you’re obviously delinquent every believer is told to be watching for Christ’s return and the book of Revelation ends in his final verses saying that Christ in fact a direct quote from Christ said he’s coming again soon and I love that phrase don’t you and I believe Christ is coming again.
We’re going to talk about the Bible for a little bit and then we’re going to take our live callers. We’ve already got people calling in and we’ve got all fair questions and hopefully we’ll have a wonderful day and I invite you to be a part of that. We’re going to go ahead and take a look at the scriptures and if If you have your Bible handy, you might want to get it out and turn with me. I’m going to turn to 1 Corinthians chapter 3.
And here we have a wonderful chapter that talks about the judgment seat of Christ. If you’ve never heard of that, it’s very important for the believer to be aware of this because you and I as believers are going to stand one day at the judgment seat of Christ where our works will be examined to determine the degree of reward or loss of reward will receive in heaven. It says in 2 Corinthians 5, and I’m going to quote this verse, 2 Corinthians 5, 10, 4 we must all appear.
We must all appear. Talking to Christians there in 2 Corinthians 5, and it says we must all appear before the Church and the Seat of Christ. What it’s really saying is that we’ve already been subpoenaed. You ever been subpoenaed? You have to appear in court. Well, we’re going to have to appear in court. We’ve all been subpoenaed and every believer will stand before the Lord at the Judgment City of Christ. It says in 2 Corinthians 5, 10, for we must all appear before the Judgment City of Christ that everyone may receive the things that he hath done in his body, whether it be good or bad.
And it tells us, therefore, because of that, we really ought to take Seriously living for Christ here because we don’t want to suffer loss there. So what are you doing on Earth for heaven’s sake? Interesting phrase isn’t it? What are you doing on Earth for heaven’s sake? What are you doing now? That will bring about eternal reward. What are you doing now? That will be rewarded at the Joseph’s seat of Christ What are you doing now so that you will not be embarrassed?
When you stand before the Lord at the Joseph’s seat of Christ when he returns This wonderful chapter is a great chapter to make a note of in your Bible. It says in verse 8, every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. That’s not talking about salvation, because salvation without exception everywhere in the Bible is spoken of as a gift. It’s something purchased by God, offered free and received by those who trust Christ as Savior. I received the gift of everlasting life when I was 18 when I trusted Christ as my Savior.
And you know, that is good news, isn’t it? When I saw in the Bible that phrase the gift of God, in Romans chapter 5 it calls it the free gift, the free gift. The free gift. It’s wonderful to know. Romans 6.23 says the gift of God is eternal life. of God is eternal life. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. So the gift of God is eternal life. But our works will one day be examined and it says in 1 Corinthians 3 8, every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.
So we’re not going to get rewarded for our good intentions. We’re going to get rewarded for what we have done. What are you doing on earth for heaven’s sake? A lot of Christians are doing nothing, pooling their thumbs, sitting there, kind of waiting for life to go by, I guess. And unfortunately, there is a day when you’re already subpoenaed to appear in court. We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5 and 10 that everyone may receive the things done in his body according that is which you have done, whether it be good or bad.
So everything is going to be brought up. And I believe since you get saved, in other words, from the time you get saved onward, you’re going to give an account of what you’ve done with your life. This whole reward, this whole judgment is about rewards. Look if you will at verse 11 now, 1 Corinthians 3 and 11, if you have your Bible open. For other foundation can no man lay them that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. We find that Christ is the foundation, He is the stone, He is the rock, He is the one that the church is built upon, and the church by the way is not a denomination.
Boy that has really been misunderstood by people. The church according to the Bible is the body of Christ comprised of every believer from Pentecost until the Rapture happens, and so if you are a believer between that start point and that end point. Start point being Pentecost, 50 days after the resurrection, the end point being the rapture when the Holy Spirit is taking out and the church goes with him up into the atmosphere to meet the Lord in the air.
We are the bride of Christ and the Holy Spirit is getting a bride for God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Lord Jesus will come to the upper atmosphere, the old spirit will bring us up to meet him and will be forever from that point on with the Lord. So we find that Jesus is the stone, he’s the foundation, not Peter, it says other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid which is Jesus Christ. And then it says in verse 12, if any man build upon this foundation, obviously that implies work effort on your part and my part were to build on the foundation of Jesus Christ.
And it mentions here six different kinds of building materials, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay and stubble. And you’ll notice that they break into two different sorts or groups. What would he instubble if tried by fire would be burned up and nothing but ashes would be left? But gold, silver and precious stones if tried by fire would be purified, if anything, but they would still remain. And that’s the picture that God is giving us here, that some things that we do are going to last forever and be rewarded forever.
Other things will be burned up at this judgment and you’ll suffer the loss of reward. Verse 13 says, Every man’s work shall be manifest or made known. So all the things that we’ve done are going to be made known for the day shall be declared. That is the day when the rapture happens at the judgment seat of Christ that will be standing at that time. It says here, because it shall be revealed by fire and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
In other words, the works that are for self and not rewardable and not done for God will all be burn up. But the things that have been done for the Lord will last forever and ever and ever. And it’s important to know that only what you’ve done for Christ will last. Everything else will come to verse 14 says, If any man’s work abide, which have built their pawn, that’s after the fire hits it, he shall receive a reward. So, wow, when the works are all piled up and God blessed it with his fire, the fire will burn up everything that is not worthy of reward and only ashes will be left.
But if you have done things that are worthy of reward, gold-sovereign precious stones, then those will remain and you’ll receive a reward. But look at verse 15. This is certainly one of my favorites. And again, for those that might think you can lose your salvation, take a look at this. Here the Bible says, even if you did nothing, if you did nothing, and you hear all these people, oftentimes it’s say, well, unless your life has changed, unless you are progressing upward, then you are not saved at all, not true.
Here it says, if any man’s work shall be burned, let’s say everything you ever did in your life were burned up. It says the person would suffer loss, that’s loss of reward, but it goes on to say, but he himself shall be what? Saved! You’ll still be saved! Isn’t that wonderful? Even if everything you did was not worthy of reward and was burnt up at the judgment seat of Christ. You would still be saved, but he goes on to say, yet so has my fire.
What does that mean? In other words, the fire will burn everything right down to the foundation, and because Christ is the foundation, and the foundation cannot be burnt, you’re going to be saved because you’re on that foundation. But everything you’ve built upon that foundation, if it’s not done for the Lord, will be burnt up and you’ll suffer loss for all eternity. a passage. Let me read that verse again. Verse 15 to 1 Corinthians 3 says, If any man’s work shall be burned, let’s say everything you’ve ever done in your life was not worthy of reward and it was all burned up.
You would suffer loss of reward, but yet you would still be saved. Amazing. Here we go by a house that is burnt down. You might notice maybe a chimney standing and you see the foundation, but everything else is burned up. That’s sometimes the case. And this is the picture right here that if you’re a believer, you have the foundation of Christ and the foundation doesn’t burn. But everything you build upon that foundation might be burned up. And that’s why it’s important, as it says in verse 8, every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.
He wants us to labor together with him. Verse 9 says, in 1 Corinthians 3, 9, we are laborers together with God. Isn’t that incredible? Why would God choose you and me as laborers? My goodness, can he count on you? Will you do a good job? Will you do your best? Will you try to live for Christ every day? Well, he wants you to be a laborer. It says here, we are laborer together with God. What an incredible relationship we have as a believer with the living God, that we are His sons and daughters by the new birth, and we also are fellow laborer with Him in His harvesting of this world.
The Bible speaks about all the people out there in this world as being a potential harvest, that we need to bring the gospel to them and lead them to Christ. And as we lead them to Christ, that’s the reaping part. And we reek them onto life eternal. It says in John’s Gospel, wow, we have a wonderful, wonderful privilege. God wants to use you and me as a laborer to do things for him. The Bible lists lots and lots of things we can do that bring honor and glory to him, even giving a glass of cold water to someone in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have you ever done that? I’ll never forget we had a phone repairman come over one day, summer hot. He worked hard to try to get our phone line restored. It was really hot. And my wife went out to him with a glass of cold water and a track that would tell you how to go to heaven. And you know, it was amazing. I believe that man got saved that day. But that glass of cold water in the name of Christ was really refreshing.
He says, thank you. He says, most of my customers would never do that. But thank you for bringing me that water. And he sat and drank that water and read that track. And I believe he got saved. You know, you never know what you might do. Some act of kindness, some thoughtfulness on your behalf in the name of Jesus to let them know that you’re a Christian and you want to tell them how they can go to heaven is certainly one of the rewardable things.
And the Bible talks about those kinds of deeds. But of course, if you read your Bible, you’ll be rewarded for that. But if you attend a good Bible-believing teaching church, I believe you’ll be rewarded for that. If you pray, you’ll be rewarded for that. Whatever time you spend doing things that God has asked us to do, God is going to reward that. I’m Dr. Hincklinch, this is my blind. But most importantly, salvation is a gift. You can only receive it as a gift.
You can’t do anything to buy it, to earn it, to get it, to deserve it. It’s not deserved. But God says He loves you and Christ died for you. And if you’ll only trust Christ, as you’re only hope of heaven, coddle save you. Isn’t that wonderful? And you can be assured of that from this very moment on. I’m Dr. Englund’s room. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, forward from our studios here.
It’s Friday. We’ll be back again Monday live. But in the Tampa Bay area, you can hear it’s seven days a week. So we’ll be playing the best of tomorrow and Sunday. And of course you’re welcome to come by and visit us. But by the way, you can catch our Sunday morning worship on the internet. This is so incredible. We have such an audience is growing. As people go to the website by the line Ministries.org, they click on the home page on the camera and that connects you to the Sunday morning worship service.
It’s a black screen, but on Sunday morning between 11 and 12 it comes alive. And if you’re watching around 11 you’ll see clouds going by. You’ll hear the O-Rugget Pross, our theme song, and then all of a sudden as I begin the message the video and the audio will come up. Try that. And you can do it during the week, it goes into archive and you can go back again and again and again and again and catch the worship services as well as our radio shows.
We have John patiently waiting here in Tampa, Florida, get on the air with us. And John, welcome to Bibleline You Are On The Air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. I have a question about the rapture. Sure. I think you said that babies and young children won’t because of as in the days of nowhere, but Jack, many of you keep this that they will be raptured because they are not accountable and so they’re at the age of knowledge we can know what good or bad to accept reject well jack tenet p i i think is uh…
not correct there but he also says animals will be wrapped right i certainly can buy into that somebody gave me his dvd on animals being uh… caught up and on one of his shows i they were teasing of course but but roxel said jack then how you know it was somebody unsaved with their animals raptured what what should they do and he said grab the tail of the animal to go up with the animal and of course they were teasing some of them he really does believe animals apparently would be raptured uh…
the answer is is that life is going to go on It’s not going to be disrupted. This is simply an evacuation of believers. And when the rapture happens, only believers will be taken up. And then life will go on. It says in Matthew that they will marry and be given a marriage by and sell and eat and drink and everything else until then the second coming happens seven years later. So I don’t believe that children under the age of accountability will be raptured up.
Now should they? die, then of course they would immediately go to heaven because you’re right. They are under the age of accountability and so they don’t have to make that decision, but the children will be left behind. Otherwise, every child on the earth would have to be taken. God is not a respected person, so he would take every child off of the earth and that would… life is going to continue as the normal as normal as it can be when all the believers on the planet are evacuated and I hope that helps.
That’s my view and I believe that it’s accurate. It’s not the most popular obviously I have a lot of people to say I don’t want to hear that but it is the truth. Because I thought they’re like automatically safe because they don’t have to they can’t reject their sub-jesus. That’s why I thought they would be taken. If they die. But otherwise no. The issue here is not the final judgment or the end of life here on the planet. Life will continue on.
That’s what I’m saying. This is simply an evacuation. If you read the passages about the Rapture, it says that we’re going to be caught out and meet the Lord in the air. And then it says in verse 2 and 3 of chapter 5 of 1 Thessalonians, then sudden destruction come with upon them as travail upon a woman with a child, another to be judgments of increasing weight and devastation that will come upon the earth and more and more frequent as the seven years go by tell the worst and most intense judgments occurred just before Christ returns, that’s the time of the ending of the travail and Christ bringing peace on the earth.
So in any case, if a child dies before the age of accountability, we go to heaven, but there’s nothing to indicate that God is going to evacuate all children on the planet, life is going to continue and obviously it will not be disrupted. I have a same question, Hebrew? I think he speaks all languages. There’s no language that God does not know for sure. And probably he spoke Aramaic, which was a dialect of Hebrew current at the time of Christ.
Thank you so much, John. And we now have Betty in Beverly Hills, Florida. Wow, it’s sounds like a paradise. All right, Betty, welcome to my one. Well, it’s not paradise yet, but we’re really rejoicing up here, Brother Lindstrom. They’re so happy over our young neighbor that trusted Christ as their Savior and that’s on, that was on 7-7-07 and she wants to be immediately obedient and she’ll be one of the folks that God willing you will be baptizing on the 19th.
Well isn’t that wonderful. We’re inviting people if they would like to be baptized in this group, we’re going to baptize. And so she’s most welcome and we hope that that will be a wonderful day for her to give testimony that way yes you got here here right up against the speaker of our computers who want to hear what you have to say with what i’m going to ask you please all right go ahead this morning in my quiet time with the lord uh…
one of the readings with bomb sixty four which uh… and overall view is uh… the oppressed being uh… uh… the the right to be impressed by the wicked but actually rejoicing in the future vindication by the lord and i believe it was a lord dot i’d have to stop sixty four of our seven and i believe the whole spirit through my attention to her seven which but got shall shoot at them with an arrow and suddenly they shall be wounded and then i think i’d have to forty nine to came into my mind and actually i’d i’d a forty nine starting with verse one is uh…
marvel play a methianic may i read it to you Sure, go ahead. First, one and two says, I want to see what your thought is on this, brother. It says, listen, O, coastland to me, and take heed you people from afar. The Lord has called me from the womb, from the matrix of my mother. He has made mention of my name. Now he has the, I believe the connecting verse, perhaps, give a little more insight. And he has made my mouth like a sharp sword.
I thought of Hebrews 4-12, the word of God being quick and powerful. sharper than any two-edged sword and then the rest of the verse says in the shadow of his hand He has hidden me and made me a polished shaft in his quiver He has hidden me and we know that old judgment future judgment is given into the hands of the fun Do you think that that was in fact enacted by the Holy Spirit or is this just the the imagination of my own mind, Brad.
Oh no, I think that’s… talking about Jesus and actually this is true and I don’t necessarily think it’s a little arrow I really think it’s more like radiation you know it says that those that approached Mount Sinai when Moses was up there were killed I mean they were like shot through maybe like with radiation but they were you know You can’t approach the presence of God as a human and not experience that. So you cannot live in this presence.
That’s why we have to be born again and we have to have his righteousness to be able to enter in his presence, which every believer receives at the moment we believe. Good stuff. I like those verses. All right. Thanks for your insight. All right. Thank you, Betty. And we are coming up on the end of the hour. We have a lot of folks waiting here, and we’ll try to get to you as soon as we possibly can. We want you to remember to worship someplace this Sunday.
And if you don’t have a place of worship, come by and see us. Or if you are in another city, you can join us on the Internet. BibleLineMinistries.org. BibleignMinistries1 word.org. on the camera and you’ll be connected. We’re going to go to break. We’ll come back into a second half hour so don’t go away and keep you ready to downturn right where it is. This is Bible and I’m by Kring Lindstrom and we’re going to be back right after this short break and do a second half hour.
Go away. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well I’m Dr. Englunds from and this is by the line, it’s great to be with you. We’ve had fun all this week, it’s Friday. We’ll be back again live on Monday and again we’re in the month of August. Hard to believe the time is moving by so quickly. We sure hope that we’ll get to see you sometime on this Earth before the rapture happens and if you get a chance to come by and visit with us that would be wonderful and you can do during the week and visit our resource center or you can come by on a Sunday or a Wednesday or our Tuesday night classes and we’d love to have you join a time when we come together as believers.
But in any case, we hope that you’ll have a wonderful weekend and we hope that Bible line will continue to be blessing you throughout the weekend as you take advantage of all the things and the ways you can access us on our website, Bibleline Ministries. In any case, we hope that you’ll also call if you don’t have one for our latest resource sheet. We have a lot of resources in our resource center and we have lots of folks taking advantage of that.
The tracks we have are wonderful. They really do work. People get saved and we have a great book on evangelism called the Handbook of Personal evangelism. We had a person come by this week and buy 50 at one time. They’re going to teach from it. I think that’s wonderful. Their church is going to use it to teach and evangelize people. I think it’s the best book you can possibly get. And we have it in Spanish as well as English.
We also have the Schofield Bible. And by the way, we have that in Spanish also. That’s right. the Spanish text of the scripture with the notes of Dr. Scofield in Spanish. It’s wonderful. In fact, one of the editions that we have has on the one side of the page the Spanish Scofield on the right side. It has the English Scofield and it’s a great way to compare and if you want to brush up on your Spanish, I guess it’d be a great way to compare English to Spanish and maybe learn it.
We hope You’ll take advantage of many of these resources we have. And we have all those things listed on our internet, online bookstore, but we also have the sheet. That is a listing of all the things we have in our Resource Center. We sure enjoyed it being with you this week and we hope that we’ll see you again on the radio on Monday of next week and until the Lord comes back, I hope that Bibleline will be a blessing to you.
Many people tell me that they listen every day, they plan their day around Bibleline. We’re just flattered and we’re glad that we are a blessing from God. Keep your radio tuned right where it is as we now rejoin the station. that have been on break and we’re going to do the second half hour. Don’t go away. I’m going to start part two. Would you like to call my blind and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.
Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is my blind and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and we just enjoy being with you every day. Really it’s kind of a neat thing. Somebody told me they feel like I’m inviting you to just come right into my living room and we just are sitting down and chatting. And I’m glad that you feel that way.
We try to make sure that we answer your question as best we can and give you the scripture references so you can look them up for yourself and being on the internet we allow you to obviously go back and hear the program as often as you want which is wonderful and you can download them in the mp3 format of course you can always call and order a copy of any radio show for a gift of five dollars will produce one for you in any case we’re so glad that you’re listening today and we hope that you’re enjoying.
This is our final day of the week. We hope that if you have a question, get it in and we’ll try to answer as many as we can. We have a bunch of off-air. James and Tam would call him and he says, do you have a photographic memory? I was just teasing with our volunteers here today. I said, yes I do, but I’m out of film. I don’t know. I work hard at memorizing scriptures, so it’s not but photographic, it’s really the result of deliberately memorizing Scripture.
And I think it’s something that every believer really ought to do. It says in Psalms 119, verse 9, that we’re to hide God’s Word in our heart or mind that we might not sin against God. Word of God has a powerful effect upon our lives as we put it in our heads. And so let me recommend that you do that. We’re going to go now to Harold in Tampa, Florida and Harold, welcome to Bibleline Greek. Have you on the air?
Hey, sir. How you doing? This is Harold. It’s always wonderful talking to you. My question was, it talks about in the Bible what Jesus was crucified on the cross. What he crucified on a cross, a crucified on a stake and what other reference other than the Bible that I can look at that will help. I’m going to hang up and listen. Alright, well you know when that steak thing comes up, I know you’re talking about your whole witness because they make a big argument.
What is interesting is that I have a… a collection of old Jehovah’s Witness books and I’ve got some back from the early 40s. They have pictures in there of Jesus being nailed to a cross. And now they, I think they probably tried to get rid of all those but they’re, I have a copy here I can show you. So this is a really crazy argument but let me just tell you what they would do. They would have an upright member and then the person me crucified would carry the cross and they would lay that over the top of the upright part and that would make like a tea.
But then the Romans would also then above that post a sign that would tell what crime the person was being crucified for. And in the case of Jesus it said this is Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. The Jews were very offended by that and and they said, change it to say that he said he was the king of the Jews and Pilate of course said he’s not going to change it. But the crime for which Rome killed Jesus was treason.
Here, claiming to be a king when only Caesar was king and of course the Jewish people brought him to Pilate because they wanted him killed because they considered what he did was blass me in claiming himself to be gone. So those were the crimes. But basically when you had the sign of above that made a T or a cross. So. I believe he’s crucified on a cross and not just a tree, but yet it was made of a tree, wasn’t it?
And you know there’s a number of verses that use that word. It says over in 1 Peter chapter 2 verse 24 that Christ was crucified on a tree and Acts 5 29 says he was crucified on a tree. But the word cross is used more often than that and and obviously There was the upright part then the cross beam that made a T and then with a sign Directed above that it made the sign the made it looks like a cross.
So it was across. Hopefully that helps It’s not a big issue that I don’t know why the Joe’s witnesses makes such a big issue over that but I Have some of their books that have pictures of Christ being nailed across and I like to tell them for you guys just change like the weather. I mean, you’re not consistent. All right, well, thank you, Harold. And we’re now going to go to Tony in Largo. Tony, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air.
Hi, yes, hi. Hi, I’m Hank Lindstrom. Thank you, Michael. And I have a question in regards to Revelation chapter 18 verse 8. All right. I’m turning there. What is the question? OK, my question is, John mentioned with that famine that he is describing the same divine or defined in the book of Amos, chapter verse 11. No, I don’t think so. This is the result of the judgments of the tribulation period in Christ’s return. Amos is talking about a famine for the hearing of God’s Word, but this is now the final battle here that we’re talking about and we find that those that survive Armageddon will obviously mourn and and grieve the tremendous amount of loss of life.
It tells us here that from chapter 9 of Revelation, a third of all the people on the earth will be killed in Armageddon. So that’s, I guess, around 2 billion people, or 6 billion, they say, are on the earth now. So 2 billion people, you know, that makes 9-11 seem pretty pale in comparison, doesn’t it? So people are going to be mourning and weeping. And then it says that basically all commerce will stop. All of the merchandise verse 12 of gold and silvers on verse 11 of verse 13 says of cinnamon, odors and oil and flour and wheat and it’s just done for it’s just kind of all over.
And then of course Jesus will have the judgment of the nations where he’ll kill all the rest of the world’s population that are unbelievers. only with the believers will he start things anew during the tribulation period. But this is going to be considerable problems for a transitional period. Apparently according to Ezekiel they will bury the dead of Armageddon for seven years after the battle of Armageddon is over. So there is clean up time even into the millennial kingdom. And apparently with the nuclear weapons that will be flying around it says in Ezekiel also So that Egypt will apparently be radioactive I think for 40 years.
It says not even a dog will walk across Egypt for 40 years after Armageddon. So it’s going to be pretty devastating and I think it’s more a real famine, a shortage of food from the result of the battle of Armageddon. Oh, okay. Well, that definitely answered your time to answer that. Well, you’re most welcome and thank you Tony for calling in today to Bibleline and we’re going to go now to Armando in St. Petersburg. Armando, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning Dr.
Lindstrom. Good morning. I’d like to ask you about first Peter chapter one version that he believes in. He used that scripture in one of the scripture that he used to say that Jesus died for certain amount of people but not for everyone. I’m I’m going to hand it up and listen to you. OK. It’s really talking about the number that do get saved are limited, but not that Christ didn’t die for all of them. In other words, there are numerous verses and this has elected according to the foreknowledge of God, which is the fact that God before the foundations of the world elected to save those that would believe that he fore for new.
There would be a belief on Christ, but yet if you just go to a church without going anywhere elseartney if you go to 2nd Peter chapter 3 it says in verse 9 the Lord is not slack considering his promise as slackness. that many, but he says not willing that any should perish alleging God doesn’t want anyone to go to hell. But that all should come to repentance or the change of mind that occurs when he gets saved. So he wants everybody to be saved, but again he’s given us free will and choice and we can reject the Lord.
But then there’s the good verses. My favorite is 1 John 2 2. Christ is the propitiation which means a satisfying sacrifice for our sins. Then it goes on to say DevOnline and not for our sins only, but also for the sins of theSOURCE world. Now you can’t wiggle out of that. Hebrews 2-9 says that Christ tastes of death for every man. John 3-16 says God so loved the world. That means all mankind. That whosoever, obviously the invitation is to everybody in the human race, that if they would believe in Christ they would not perish, but they would have everlasting life.
I sure hope that helps Armando and thank you for calling in. We now have Colleen in Jacksonville, Florida and thank you Colleen for calling in today. Yes, good morning Dr. Lesram. I’d like to ask two questions and I take my answer off here. I guess I can hear you better. I kind of actually touched on something I was just now going to ask you this gentleman that just called you. was going to ask about that because that’s saying man I guess I’m going to stop listening to him that Harold Camping he had me so confused about that he was saying that people are elected by God to be saved and that if you’re not elected I guess he believeseorinement”);ALSE173oulos misunder livesticularly tougPublishedktop endetarian going to go to hell unless you just cry out daily daily to have mercy on the old lord but then i don’t believe that but i think you touched on that subject
just now actually because i don’t know The Bible does speak something about predestination. I’m confused about that myself. But I don’t really understand what it means where he does say there are the elect and this and that. The other thing I wanted to ask you though also about baptism is should I be rebaptized? I’ve been baptized once and I was baptized in a church of Christ and they baptized you in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.
But there’s a place in the Bible where it says like you were talking, I believe it was yesterday, be Notwithstanding the nameesm of jesus. So what is the difference between the two then? Well the point is is that you need to get baptized after you were saved. If you were in the Church of Christ it’s highly unlikely that you were saved because you were taught water baptism saved you and the many other works that they add to the list there.
So if you’ve gotten out of that and you’re now saved that’s when you need to get water baptized. What is the difference between being baptized in the name of Jesus or in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? I’d like to take it off the air because I can hear you better if you don’t mind. Okay, go right ahead. And maybe you could touch on that predestination thing again for me. Thank you, sir. How well good. Well, the water, of course, doesn’t save and every believer ought to be water baptized after they trust the Lord as their Savior.
if you have not been water baptized since you have been saved. When you were in the Church of Christ, they thought it was necessary for salvation, which has worked for salvation and totally wrong. At this point, if you have understood that it is not by baptism, not by works, not by church membership, it is by trusting in the finished work of Christ, then God saves you. From that point on, that is the time you need to get water baptized as a testimony that the the butt of Christ has cleansed you from all sin.
On the predestination thing, I think Dil Moody said it as simple as you ever want to hear it. He said, the Whosoever wills are the elect. The Whosoever won’ts are the non-elect. That’s about it. So if you’re Whosoever will, that is you have believed on Christ, then you’re elected to be saved. And what God did before the foundation of the world was he elected to save all that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. You really have it in John 3 16, Colleen.
It says for God to love the world. He loved everybody in the human race. He gave Jesus to die for everybody in the human race. And then here’s what he chose before the foundation of the world. That whosoever would believe in Christ would not perish, but they’d have eternal life. But he also chose that those that would not believe would perish and not have everlasting life. So that was the decision that God made prior to your choice. 2016 was written 2000 years ago, 2000 years before I got saved, and 2000 years before you got saved.
And what God determined way back even before that, through the foundation of the world, was that whosoever would believe in Christ would be chosen to be saved, they would not perish, they’d have eternal life, but whosoever would not believe on Christ would indeed perish and not have everlasting life. So I hope that sums it up. It’s that simple really and The believers have been predestinated to live in heaven The believers have been predestined to have a sinless body in heaven the believers have been predestined to be Sinless for all eternity in that new body and so on and there’s lots and lots and things that have been predetermined for the believer But also for the unbeliever it’s been predestinated that they’ll go to hell forever that they’ll be tormented day and night That they’ll have no rest day nor night.
They’ll be in flaming fire for eternity So those things are all predetermined and the choice is yours if you believe on Christ You’ll go to heaven if you don’t believe on Christ and die you’ll go to hell. All right. We now have David in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and David. Welcome to Bibleline you on the air Thank you, sir. And myself, we’re having a discussion yesterday. And what we were talking about was, let me just give you a four instance. If I had a friend today, or maybe a family member who was just very seriously ill with cancer and they were suffering, they were hurting and it just tore your heart out.
And maybe the doctor said, they won’t leave them, don’t mind me. When I go to pray for them, should I pray Lord, heal them or should I pray Lord, be merciful to them, take them home? How should we pray for someone like that? If they’re a believer, then obviously they’re going to go to a much better place. And you know, there’s an appointed time for people to die and it’s not going to be turned around, you know, in the Bible you see a few rare times when God resurrected someone.
They’re going to die and they’re going to be in a far better place. In fact, I like the verse back in Psalm 1, 1915, and it says, the precious and the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Every believer is a saint and he longs for us to go to heaven to be with him. And why should we try to keep that person here that God is wanting to take home to be with him at the appropriate time?
So if they’re going to die, I think we just pray that they would be comfortable and that they would not have a least amount of pain and discomfort while they’re leaving this planet. But otherwise we don’t want to hold them back, that’s for sure. But if they’re an unbeliever, then you really have maybe a day or two to lead them to Christ. And I think you need to, as best you can and love and compassion, tell them that they need to know the Lord and tell them how they can be saved and be assured of going to heaven.
Well, thank you very much. You’ve been very helpful. All right. Thank you. I’ve had a number of occasions where I’ve been able to lead some of the Christ in the last moments of their life. And they were very much listening. They really knew they were checking out. In fact I saw one man and he had called and asked me to come. I got there and he was agitated and breathing heavily. You could tell disturbed. I went over the gospel and we talked about how he could be saved right then on the spot and be assured of going to heaven.
He trusted the Lord. You know he got calm all of a sudden he was breathing softly and everything about his demeanor was just relaxed. I went down to the cafeteria in the hospital to get something to eat with the family and while we were there I was telling them the story of what happened and word came down from up above that he had just passed away. You know he was holding on with all that he could until I could get to him to share the Gospel message when he heard it and believed that he relaxed and was comfortable about letting go.
Well thank you David for calling in from Chattanooga and we’re glad to be on the air up there in your city. We’re now going to go to George in Tarpon Springs and George welcome to Bibleline you You are on the air. Hey, Dr. Hank? Yeah. Hey, quick question for you. And it’s not that supposedly when you die, you go up and you go through. Tell me what that is and where it originated and stuff like that. Now, I’ll get off here.
Well, I’ve never heard of that. I don’t know who’s telling you that. Second Corinthians 5 8 says when you die, you’re absent from the body immediately present in with the Lord. They wouldn’t go to any place along the way that that is pure pure nonsense. It’s not biblical Okay, I did but I want to hear you say it all right. Yeah, when you die you don’t go to some I’ve never heard of the term toll houses But when you die you’re absent from the body present with the Lord second Corinthians 5 8 We now have John in St.
Petersburg and John welcome to Bibleline Hi, Pastor Hank. Hi John. How are you? Good. Very good. There you are. You are on the air right now. Oh, well listen, I don’t have a question but I have a comment. First I want to say I appreciate your ministry. God bless you. I had a comment about the Mark of the Beast. Okay. And not only do we have the technology for that now but I want to hear your comment on the perfect catalyst we have for people accepting the Mark of the Beast and that is Immigration reform and the terrorism, how that fits perfectly into getting people to accept the mark of the beast.
absolutely right and i think people are being uh… pushed toward that and uh… they they see the value and being able to uh… if if somebody’s kidnapped that you can find him if your child uh… is kidnapped or lost they can’t do that by the way with gps they can know exactly where that child is and uh… uh… the the ease of being able to make your monetary transactions it’s all going to be done by that chip and that mark.
I saw a commercial on television where they were promoting this and they had a guy running through the store throwing things in a cart, running right by the cash register and out into the parking lot and he thought he’d rob the store. They said, wouldn’t you like to be able to leave your wallet at home? Because you won’t need a wallet, you won’t need cash, you won’t need anything if you have the mark because you’ll be scanned and your account will be charged and all the things that you had in that grocery cart will be scanned.
It’s amazing. The technology is here. And look at the immigration thing for a moment. They’ve talked about this national ID and they’ve already said that it’s not going to work because you’ll be able to copy them. The only way we’re going to be able to know whether it be someone from a foreign country your illegal immigrant Yep, this fit into the mark of the beast. I Agree, I think we are really close really really close Alleluia I’m ready to go.
I am too. Well, John. Well, I appreciate you. I’m past. Well, thank you for calling in today and we appreciate that that was John and St. Petersburg we now have George and Palm Harbor George welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Yeah, my question I believe it’s Philippians 2 12 work out your salvation with fear and friendly. Good. I’ll hang up and I’ll put you in the gun radio. All right. We’ll do it. Philippians 2 12, notice it does not say work for it says work out is talking about a believer there and how we are to display our salvation in reaching others.
It says in verse 13, this God that works in you is a believer only. Believers have got in them. And so God dwells with a believer and he wants us to be willing witnesses for him and to display the salvation we have by telling us about it. A verse or two further down and says that we do that by holding forth the word of life. That’s the word of God. When we take the word of God and share it with others, we are doing exactly what it says they’re working it out.
The fear and trembling has to do with the fact that we’re going to give it a count as we began our show today with the Judge and the City of Christ. You need to realize that’s serious and you will suffer loss if you don’t become a servant of Christ and if you do nothing you’d still be saved but you’ll suffer the loss of reward for eternity. We now have Jim in Pinellas County. Jim, welcome to Bible In. Turn your radio down Jim and you are on the air.
Jim are you there? Jim, you’re on the air. Hello? Yeah, you’re on the air. Yes, I had a lady just called in and she was, you explained to her about the name, being baptized in the name and I definitely agree with you on that. If you don’t mind, I’d like to give her a scripture that might help her out. Go for a real quick. We don’t come at the time. Okay, the scripture is Philippians, it talks about, over in Philippians it says that, what is called about my knees to the Father, by Lord Jesus Christ, upon the whole famine, heaven and earth is the name.
And the name, when you say it’s that thousand, the name of the Father, Son, the Holy Ghost, but that’s the title. But there’s got to be a name that always comes under the title and the name is Jesus Christ. name and single her father, son, and Holy Ghost is plural, so hopefully she can understand that it is in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Okay, and really thank you and we know we are out of time, but it doesn’t make any difference.
You know, obviously Matthew 20, 19, this is baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, it is named singular there. And if you baptized in the name of Jesus, he is obviously God and I think it doesn’t really make a bit of difference. As long as you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior, you’re safe forever. We gotta run. We’ll be back again on Monday. I hope you’ll check out our internet site, BibleLineMinistries.org. I hope you’ll attend church someplace.
