I hope that you will take advantage and give us a call here at Bibleline. That number again is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Jesus said in John chapter 10, verse 28, I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. verse John 10 28, notice three things here in that verse. He says, I give unto them eternal life. He doesn’t give temporary life. He doesn’t give a trial period or probation. It’s not life until you sinning in, but it’s everlasting life that is received at the moment you believe and possessed forever thereafter by the believer.
Isn’t that wonderful? It sure is. And the moment you trust Christ as your Savior, you can receive that wonderful gift of everlasting life. I give unto them eternal life. It says in John 1028, by the way, it says here, I give and it’s a gift. You can’t earn it. You can’t buy it. We do not deserve it. We actually deserve hell. Hell, the Bible says we’re all sinners. All condemned, all headed for hell. So, anyone said, what do you have to do to go to hell?
The answer is nothing. Just die. If you are an unbeliever at the moment of death, you will go to hell according to the Bible. Now, I didn’t write the Bible, but that’s what the Bible teaches. And certainly it stirs me because I wouldn’t want anyone to go to hell. And I’m so glad, according to God’s word, that I have been delivered from hell because of what Jesus Christ did in the… into the cross and I received that forgiveness at the moment I trusted Christ as my Savior.
So eternal life is a gift. I give unto them eternal life. You know, I remember reading stories about people looking for the fountain of youth and people are still on a quest to extend their lives with vitamins and exercises and this and that and the other. Well, they might be able to do it a little bit. But you know, we’re talking here everlasting life, eternal life. People pay, I understand, billions in different products in the health food area in order to extend their lives a little bit longer here.
My goodness, when we know these bodies are going to die, eventually you’re going to meet that moment when all of a sudden you’re into eternity. all terminal has anyone told you yet that you’re terminal and so I we all are and we’re all going to die. But the point is Christ is offering eternal life that is quite incredible and he offers it free. You don’t have to buy it or pay for it because he bought it and paid for it by his death and shed blood at the cross.
Isn’t it great? That is wonderful news And that’s why the Bible calls it good news. You know the word gospel is an English Saxon word? It means good news. And it really truly is. I’ll never forget a number of years ago, I was teaching a Bible study and I was a new lady invited to attend the study. And as I explained the gospel, all of a sudden she shouted out, that’s good news. And everybody else in the Bible study broke into spontaneous applause.
I’ll never get that moment. Well, I recently heard from her She said that she has never stopped running ever since she found out that wonderful truth. She said that she’s been on some missionary trips to Romania and has been able and had the privilege of witnessing the 4,000 people giving them the gospel in Romania. Isn’t it wonderful? She’s excited, still excited. She shouted out that first day she heard the gospel explained in my Bible study. That’s good news. And she told me that she has not stopped running ever since.
I’m so glad to hear those stories. People going on with the gospel of Christ, because you know when you understand it and you receive that gift, wow, what greater thing could you do than to share that with somebody else. In John 1028, Jesus also says here, and they shall never perish. means never and parisure has to do with being cast into hell. You know the Bible talks about the second death and the second death is the separation of your soul from God in hell forever and ever and ever.
The first death is the separation of your soul from your body and so if you are an unbeliever you will experience two deaths, the first death, physical death, the separation of your soul from your body, the second death, the separation of your soul from God, inhale forever and ever and ever. Wow, you would want that to happen to anyone. And certainly, if you’re listening today and you haven’t trusted Christ, you need to trust Him because that’s what will happen to you if you die without trusting Christ as your Savior.
But Jesus says here in John 1028, I give them to them eternal life and they shall never perish, Never. And never means never. You’ll never perish. In other words, you could write in the margin of your Bible here next to John 1028, I will never go to hell. That’s really what it’s saying. In other words, He gives you eternal life and you’ll never go to hell. Wow, that’s good news, isn’t it? It certainly is that you can know right now that you have eternal life and also that He promises you’ll never go to hell.
Wow. When you go to sleep at night and sleep good after knowing that, you certainly can. I’ll never forget as a little boy. I was oftentimes afraid at night as I would go to bed. And I didn’t know what would happen during the night. Maybe I would not live through the night. I used to pray that little prayer. I think it scared me more than helped me. Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray to the horde my soul to keep.
And if I should die before I wake up pray the ward my soul will take. I can still quote it. I learned that as a little boy as I’d say my nighttime prayers. But that prayer scared me, scared me. What if I should die before I wake? Oh, I went to bed with the thought that I would die during my sleep. I remember pulling my blanket up over my eyes and over my head and hoping for morning to come.
I was a little bit scared. I really wasn’t. You know, it was so wonderful to find out that I could know that I would never go to hell. And of course, for the believer, how wonderful, 2nd Corinthians 5.8 says, from the body, present with the Lord, absent from the body, present with the Lord. Wow, that’s exciting. What a wonderful thing is that we can share that goodness. I’ve had three funerals in the past two weeks and all of them, we were able to see people come to know Jesus as their Savior.
What a special blessing at the home-going of a believer to have people upon their home-going come to know the Savior that they trusted in and be assured of eternal life as they were, that whenever they would die they would go to heaven and know they can obviously rejoice in the fact that whenever they die they too will go to heaven. Because Christ said John 1028, I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish. Lastly, in this wonderful verse of John 10, 28, he says, and neither shall any plucked them out of my hand.
You know, you can’t be lost because Christ is keeping you saved. I just don’t understand why people haven’t grasped that. People would say you can lose it. How can you lose it if Christ, who is God, is holding you? And he says here quite plainly, and these are his own words, neither shall any plucked them out of my hand. No one is able to pluck you out of the hand of Christ. He holds you securely, safely, and one day you’re going to wind up in heaven because Christ is keeping you safe.
He says, I give you eternal life. You’ll never perish. You’ll never go to hell. And neither shall any pluck them out of my head. It’s got to be the best news you’re ever going to hear. That’s why it’s called Good News, the word gospel means Good News. Have you trusted Christ? If you haven’t, you could do it right now. You could just tell the Lord, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible. I’ve done things wrong.
But I believe the Word of God. I believe that Jesus Christ did indeed die on the cross and pay for my sins in full by his death and shed blood was buried and rose again from the dead. And the moment you trust Christ, God saves you. Isn’t that great? It is wonderful news. The best news you’re ever going to hear. And that’s exciting. I hope you have trusted Christ, and if you prayed that prayer, just telling God that you trust Christ to get you to heaven.
Not baptism, not church membership, not prayers, not penance, not mass, not anything else that might be on your list, forget all those things. None of those things can save you. The only way you can be saved is through Christ himself, Christ said it, I am the way, the truth to life and no man can come into the Father but by me. Well I’m Dr. Inklynstrum this is Bible and we’re gonna go ahead and take our callers you’re welcome to call in here at 1-800-5763771 and we’re gonna go to Spring Hill Florida and we have Ray on the line and Ray welcome to Bibleline Ray turn your radio down we are on the air.
Ray welcome to Bibleline yes sir you’re on the air yeah i want to ask your question uh… a generation having trouble kind of well i know you can’t get that they know that kind of stuff when they do go back in forty eight or would you go with uh… sixty seven when they become a state i would go it was sixty seven now they became a state in nineteen forty eight on may fourteen but in nineteen sixty seven they really got jorislam back you know jorislam uh…
was uh… divided right down the heart and Jordan had half of Jerusalem and included old Jerusalem. In the Six Day War it was liberated and the Jewish people took control of the Temple Mount and the Old City of Jerusalem and so that I think is a significant date. Especially when you see Jesus pronouncing a judgment upon Israel and telling them that they would lose Jerusalem in chapter 23 of Matthew, then of course Jerusalem is regained at the beginning of the count i think for his return back to the year for they get to respond back hope that helps yeah i thought i i was looking at it uh…
either Do you have to go with 2008 or you have to go with 2012? I really don’t have an answer. I just know I’m ready to go this year. And if he doesn’t come this year I’ll look next year. But we’ve got to be close. I mean really look at the world news right now. It’s kind of scary. And you know Friday if you were listening we had Gershon Solomon on the air with us. He’s the man that has been cutting the stones preparing for the building in the third temple.
He said that very shortly and about six weeks he’s gonna attempt to haul that big 6.5 ton stone up to the Temple Mount and he’s been rejected numerous times probably will again but we believe right after the Rapture the political climate will change so that they’ll be able to build that Temple and I believe it’ll be built some believe within 48 hours the stones are all cut everything’s ready to go they just lay them on top on another it’s not a big deal and I think that they’re going to, and by the way it’s not a large building.
The actual template itself was only, you remember I think 10 by, or 20 by 30 qubits I forget, but it’s not very big and that’s only a very small structure so it can happen real quickly. All right. Okay. Appreciate the answer. All right. You’re so welcome and thank you Ray for listening up there in Spring Hill, Florida and calling in. Rick and Richmond, Virginia. Rick, welcome to Bibleline the air. Hello, Dr. Hank. Yeah, Rick. Yeah, this is Rick and Richmond.
I’ve got a question for you. There’s a radio pastor here in town who is quite active voice and remarriage of Christians. And what happens when you don’t really want to end this marriage in another divorce? In the way he talks, well, he’s obviously wrong. I’ve seen and counselors, and this is the problem with some so-called Christian counselors, I had a couple come to me and they were told by the counselor that if they didn’t get their marriage together, they’d both go to hell.
And I said, well, that’s not true. Now your marriage might go down the tubes, but certainly you will not go to hell. The eternal life, as we just said a moment ago, is a gift, and it’s eternal life, not life until you divorce. It’s life for eternity and nothing can ever pluck you out of the hand of Christ. But definitely God hates the Force and we shouldn’t be looking for a way out of a marriage. But sometimes it takes two and sometimes like the old saying, Humpty Dumpty, fell off the wall and all the King’s horses and all the King’s men could not put Humpty Dumpty back together.
Again, sometimes that happens in a marriage. I’m not looking for a reason to get out. I’m looking to stay in, you know, and I don’t know, but I don’t want to be lost. And I think my loss and save decided by my faith in Jesus Christ. Amen. And that’s by an act of faith. It’s not a continuous holding on in faith. The Bible says at the moment you believe, John 524, that you’re passed from death into life. the moment you believe the Holy Spirit comes into your body and seals you until you’re in heaven.
According to Ephesians 1, 13 and 14, and on and on and on we could go. The Bible is very clear that eternal life is received at the moment you believe John 3 16, who’s so ever believed it, would, hey, HAVE have. That means present has right now eternal life. If you have it today and it’s eternal, it will be eternal tomorrow next week and next year or a hundred years from now on a million years from now on. That’s not in jeopardy.
Certainly God wants you to restore your marriage and you need to work at that. We have a great book in our Resource Center here by Chuck Swindall called Strike the Original Match. That’s the best book I’ve read on this where he talks about that original match up when you got married, how to keep that fire burning, keep that marriage going and it’s a great book and he deals with the issues, the hard questions about divorce, remarriage and all of that, but he really is very quite careful to let you know that he’s writing this so that you can restore marriage, not get out of a wrench.
Okay. All right. Thank you very much for your answer. I just appreciate it. It seems so hard to me to look at someone and say, you know, you’ve said you have faith in Jesus Christ. You’ve been baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. And then… You loved””the teaching. You’re married a second time so you will be in hell.” Well guess what? That preacher’s wrong because obviously that is not true. And look at the greats of the Bible.
Even David actually murdered Uriah so that he could take Bathsheba as his wife, committed adultery and murder. He was still saved. And in fact the 51st Psalm where David confesses that sin, he doesn’t say, Lord, I want my salvation back. He says, restore unto me the joy of my salvation. The Lord chasin David for that and he lost his joy but he didn’t lose his salvation. Okay thank you very much Dr. Hank I’m going to send you a I’m going to send you a check just to help how much does the book cost?
That book is I think about $13.15 dollars somewhere in that area not much. I’m going to send it to you. Thank you sir. I God bless you Rick and we’ll pray for you certainly It’s scary when preachers are threatening you with the loss of salvation when They can’t take it away nor can even you Give it back or take it away the Bible says in John 6 37 him that come with me I will in no wise cast out Christ said that means no matter what happened so take that one mark and and write that one down John 637.
He doesn’t say him that cometh to me I will to know why it’s cast out except he have a divorce and then he’s out. No, he says I will have know why it’s cast John. Plus in verse 39 of John 6 even better. He says I will not lose even one. So once you trust Christ you are saved and saved forever. We’re not going to John in Brandon for it and John welcome to Bibleline your own Good morning, God bless.
I have a question talking about the body of Christ would go up and it would be sitting on the throne. And I know a lot of Jehovah Witnesses believe that. And I’m not sure exactly how to answer that when they say that Jesus is in heaven within the body. And I was wondering if you can probably clear that verse for me. It’s Acts chapter 2, verse 30. Well, I’m going to try that’s Peter by the way Peter. Peter at Pentecost verse 30 says therefore being a prophet He’s talking here about David in the Old Testament.
He’s quoting here from him therefore being a prophet that is David and knowing that God has sworn with him and oath that of his seed of course the Messiah would one day sit upon his throne that of the fruit of his loins according to the flesh he would raise up Christ to sit on his thrown. Well, it’s interesting that Jesus is God and He is a man at the same time. The witnesses seem to recognize the humanity of Christ, but fail to acknowledge the deity of Christ.
But when we get to heaven one day, there’s going to be a man on a throne, and that man will be Jesus, who is God? So He’s God and man at the same time, and He will be seated on that throne up in heaven. It’s interesting that throughout the Bible it’s quite clear that Jesus is God and the witnesses fail to recognize this. I want to call to your attention a verse in the book of Revelation. This is in chapter 12.
It’s kind of interesting. It says here about the birth of Christ that the woman being Israel in this chapter, it It says here in chapter 12 in verse 5, she brought forth a man-child who is the rule all nations with the rod of iron. Christ will rule over the earth during the thousand years, yet to come here, the millennium, and her child was caught up in the God and to his throne. So talking here about Christ when he came the first time, obviously was rejected and that child who is to rule the world and he will rule it during that thousand years that’s coming up was caught up in the God unto his throne.
So he is upon a throne right now. Thank you. All right, you’re most welcome. And that was John in Brandon, Florida. And we’ve got some offer questions and we are going to try our very best to try to take those. But We’re coming up on the end of the program. Let me remind you that we’re gonna be here all week long. Let me remind you that you can go to my internet, scintvivalignministries.org, and I catch the program wherever you are, anytime of day or night.
Plus you can catch our worship services and our TV programs and all those things. Just go to BibleLineMinistries.org, tell your friends. You might have friends overseas, other countries, other parts of the United States. they can catch our program on the internet wherever they might be. That’s exciting. As we just said, 150 countries thus far have logged on. Plus, this this weekend, somebody from one of the Palestinian territories logged on to Bibleline. Tomorrow night we’re teaching the Gospel of John.
We’re going to finish up class 9 and 10. And then the following Tuesday we’ll do 11 and 12. This 12-hour teaching on the Gospel of John is going to be really good, I think. you might want to get to see the series played in your car and you wait to it from work and wherever you could use it to facilitate a Bible study and a Sunday school class. I think it will be good background information for you if you’re trying to teach the gospel of John.
I think you’ll enjoy that. If you haven’t trusted Christ, I pray that you will if you can help us down in the summer lean months we can use your financial help. Thank you Rick for sending your gonna to send a gift to Bible and we can use that. You can do it by credit card over the phone or call and ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it. We’ll be glad to mail that right out to you.
We’re going to go to break and then we’ll come back into a second half hour. So keep your radio dial tuned right where it is. Don’t go away and we’ll come right back with a second half hour of Bible and you can catch that on the Internet as well. Thank you. Thank you. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright we’re back and this is the break time. But I’m Dr.
Ankerman and this is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. And we appreciate you all very much. We had a wonderful couple come and visit us from over in Sanford, Florida. And a wonderful couple that have done missionary work and he has been the dean in a Bible college over that way and he said most everybody in their church over there in Sanford listens to Bible and so I want to say hi to all of you.
And we had a great visit with that family last night. They drove all the way over to the West Coast of Florida here to Tampa to join us for our worship service. That was really special. And we enjoyed that time together. It’s amazing how when you meet believers, even if you’ve never met them before or ever known them before, you feel like you’ve known them all your life because we’re so in tune with each other because we’re members of the same family by the new birth, which is really exciting.
In any case, that was a treat and we always invite you to come by and cease to. If you’re ever in Tampa for whatever reason, come on by and say hi, knock on the door. But if you live in another city, you can always join our worship service on Sunday. But if you also get it during the week, so if you are attending a good church, we certainly want you to continue to do that. But you can also tune us in on the Internet.
That’s BibleInemindustries.org.com. and all you have to do is click on that camera right in the middle. There’s a blank black screen. That will remain that way all week long. It only comes alive between 11 and 12 on Sunday morning. But if you go to the left side and you click on the archive button, you’ll be able to pull up all the Sunday messages and go back and watch and hear the Sunday messages for the whole past month. Thanks again for all of you who listen, who pray for us and give the Bible and you’re the ones who keep us on the air.
No doubt about it. We would be off the air if it weren’t for our listeners who keep us going. God bless you. Thank you so much. And you all are such an encouragement to us. And it’s always exciting to hear people that come to know Christ as their Savior by listening to the Bible and program. And those that are getting their doctrine straight, just like the fellow today, being told wrongly that if he got a divorce that he’d go to hell and his wife.
That’s certainly not true. Once you get saved, you’re saved forever. Then the Christian life is a different ballgame and yes, you can suffer the loss of reward in heaven, but you can never lose your salvation. I’m Dr. Inklyn from We’re Going to Do the Second Half of Bible End, so keep your radio tunes right where it is and we’ll be doing part to a Bible and have somebody join you tell them right now to tune in would you like to call by the line and ask dr lins from a question you can just pick up your phone and dial one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one that’s one eight hundred five seven six thirty seven seventy one now here again is dr hank linsstrom We’re back from that break and this is Bibleline.
I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. From our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor. This coming Sunday will be our third Sunday, which means what? It means that we’re having a dinner. You’re invited to come by and it’s a great time to come visit because you can join our worship service. And then stay as my guest and enjoy the meal it will follow. And we hope that you’ll do that.
This Sunday though, we’re going to have a baptism. It’ll be at a beautiful lake setting. A church member has a beautiful lawn that goes right down to the water’s edge and nice sandy bottom and We’re gonna have a baptism there. We’ve had many there and it’s just a beautiful Site and it’s just outdoors. I love the outdoors as for baptism and every trip I’ve taken Israel I’ve been 14 times now We’ve baptized people in the Jordan River in Israel, which is exciting But you’re invited.
If you have not been water baptized and you don’t have anyone to baptize you, then you’re welcome to join us. I’ll be happy to include you in our baptismal service this coming Sunday. Call, get on the list, and we’ll be glad to give you a map and directions and everything. Or you can come to that worship service and then we’ll kind of motorcade on up after the lunch here. There’s a place to change at the home and you’ll be able to bring a towel and some change of clothes and we’ll baptize this Sunday afternoon the 19th of August.
We’ll also have our dinner Sunday. We’d love to have you be a part of that. We’re going to go to the foam lines. We do have Wilburton, St. Petersburg, Florida. He’s been waiting patiently. Let’s see here that we’re going to go to Wilburton. He is in St. Petersburg. Wilbur, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, sir. I’m a Jesus fan. If you explain that to me, I’m going to hang up with you. I’ll be happy to. Wilburton, that’s a question that seems to come up a lot because it’s kind of frightening.
It’s about like the guy last hour, or last half hour that said the preacher said that if you got a divorce, you’d go to hell. That’s certainly not true. This one scares people because it’s a little bit fuzzy as to what it’s talking about, but I like to point people to Mark’s Gospel, Chapter 3. Mark, Chapter 3, and this is the most definitive one. What had happened here is that Christ healed a man that was blind and dumb so that he both spake and saw.
And it was quite a notable miracle. while the religious leaders, the Pharisees and the others that came down from Jerusalem said they couldn’t deny the miracle. They couldn’t deny it. This was a genuine miracle and there was no way of getting around it. So they said, well, he heals, but he does it by bales above or the prince of the demons or Satan. So they were saying he was healing by Satan’s power, not the power of the Holy Spirit, which by the way the miracles are done to the power of the Holy Spirit.
So he says in verse 29, he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit has never forgiveness but is in danger of eternal damnation. In other words, they could, before they die, change their mind and get saved. But verse 30 is the answer. Mark chapter 3 verse 30 says, because they said, because they said, because they said, here’s the answer. As they said, he Christ has an unclean spirit. That’s the sin. It was to say that Christ had an unclean spirit, that he was healing by Satan’s spirit, not the Holy Spirit.
And it really is the same as that of rejection of Christ. It’s to say that Christ was an imposter. He’s a fraud, he’s a counterfeit, he’s not the Messiah, he’s not the Son of God, he’s not the Savior. Well the Pharisees and religious leaders already had made up their mind and when they came and they saw the miracle that he had performed, they said, well, we can’t deny the miracle. So we’ll just say he heals by Satan’s power. But Jesus says that’s the one sin that’s never forgivable.
Why? Because Christ died for every imaginable sin or blessing that you would Spawn and myself included past present future. But Christ died and paid for all of that, but if you reject Christ who is the only provision that God has given to pay for all of your sins, then you will indeed die having committed the unpardonable sin. In other words, Christ paid for every sin imaginable. So you could go to heaven right now if you would simply trust Christ as your Savior.
But if you reject Christ, which is what this sin really is, to say he’s an imposter, a counterfeit, a fraud, a great teacher, whatever, everybody’s not the Son of God, he’s not the Savior, he’s not the Messiah, and reject him as the only way that you would enter heaven, then you have committed the unpardonable sin. It’s really the sin of unbelief. John 3. He says he, believe it’s not on Christ, is condemned already because because because he has not believed on the name of the only God in Son of God.
So if you have not believed, then you are condemned forever. Hopefully that answers the question for you. Thank you, Wilbert, for calling in. We have Pete and Palm Harbor. Pete, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi, Dr. Hank, how are you? Good. I read that to me. It gives me proof. Absolutely. You’re absolutely right. Okay. I mean to me, that’s the proof text right there It’s it’s as clear as you’ll ever get it It tells us that the Holy Spirit as Christ promised the Holy Spirit would be given at Pentecost after he would be glorified and it says there that He would be given to those that believe on him so it says the day which believe on him should receive.
So the Holy Spirit is given to all those who believe. That’s the only way you can get it. In Galatians chapter 3 has another good verse too, where it says, How did you receive the Spirit by works or by faith? And obviously the answer they’re given is faith. Not by works. So we don’t get it by any means by simply believing. Feas is 113, and it’s another good one that says that when you believe the gospel, the Holy Spirit seals you until the day of redemption.
redemption. So you’re sealed by the Holy Spirit at the moment of belief in the Okay, great. My second one is Matthew 21, 21 and 22. Can you just kind of expound upon that and give me some ideas of if you read it just in its own verse, it may be misunderstood. All right. We’re talking about the withering away on the fig tree and faith. Yeah, it says in verse 21, Jesus answered and said to them, rarely I send you if you have faith and doubt not, you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you say under this mountain be they’ll removed, I’ll show and be cast into the sea, it shall be done.
What is interesting here is that people don’t read very carefully and Christ when He spoke this was on the Mount of Olives. And He said, you can pray, notice it says, and say unto this mountain, not just any mountain, but this mountain, it was the Mount of Olives. And guess what? The Bible already says when Jesus comes back at the Second Coming, this mountain is going to split and have to be removed and guess what? It’s a prayer for the fulfillment of prophecy in God’s Word.
So if you pray scripturally in mind with God’s Word, you’re always going to get a yes answer and we just can’t indiscriminately pray for things and he’s not teaching that but he says if you pray for this mountain that it would be removed, it’s going to be. And that’s obviously a prayer for the Second Coming. If you read Zechariah 14 verse 4, it says his feet shall stand on that day upon the Mount of Olives and it says it’s going to split right down the middle half will be removed to the north half to the south so the mountain is going to be removed and that will be the second coming of Christ.
Okay, thank you Dr. Hank. You are so welcome and thank you for calling in to Bible on today. We have Jennifer and she is in Hollywood, Florida and let’s see if I get the right phone line here. Jennifer, you are on the air. Okay, you’re on one. Okay. My question is, I know it says in the Bible, I don’t know where, that not everybody that says to me, Lord, Lord, will see the Kingdom of Heaven, only those that do the will of my Father.
And my question is, I heard you preaching about, as soon as you believe you are healed. Can a person believe yet not do the will of the Father? Now, you need to be able to again rightly divide the word, that verses in Matthew 7 21. And the will of God to be saved is the believe on Christ. But God’s will for one who has already believed on Christ for the Christian life is different. So you have to be able to separate it.
Let me give you a great cross-reference. By the way, the verse I’ll read it, Matthew 7 21. This is not everyone that saith unto me, Lord Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven. What is his will? Let me go to John chapter 6 and write this one down, Jennifer, John 6 verse 40. Jesus says, This is the will of him that sent me. That of that everyone which seeeth or acknowledgeeth the son and belief upon him may have everlasting life So that’s the will of the father that you believe on Christ and then you become saved But then after you’re saved it is God’s will then for you to live for Christ and and proclaim the gospel to others and That brings about rewards, but the will of God for the lost is to become saved and they become saved when they believe on
Christ found 640, but after they become saved then God’s will for you is to serve him and that brings about rewards. It has nothing to do with your salvation. Salvation is totally based upon what Christ did for you and the Christian life is our response where we do things for Christ and that brings about rewards. Okay. Thank you. I have one more question. Sure. I was under the impression that anything that you give, whether it be to life outreach or your church, it’s all considered piding.
I was told yesterday that your tithe is what versus the storehouse, the storehouse being your church. And if you’re not only given to the church, you’re 10% and that’s not piding the way you should. Well, I think they’re manipulating the verses. in the verses. Tiding was under the law. Tiding had to do with the nation of Israel. It really was in a sense a tax that really ran the government of Israel, just like you pay taxes to the government of the United States.
It was really a lot more than just 10% because there were three different ties. We have a great book here by Charles Ryrie called Balancing the Christian Life. He’s got a chapter or two in there that really, if you’re one of those and wants to stick by the law and tie that into the law, you’re going to give about 23.5% points out. But in the case, we’re under grace and we give by grace, but the storehouse really had to do with the government of Israel and to try to say that that’s the church.
There was no church. The church is really, the body of Christ didn’t begin till Pentecost. wasn’t there, they’re quoting from Malachi about the storehouse and the church didn’t begin to Pentecost. And then of course the local church is of course where we worship. But I believe you’re to be giving where you are fed and where you’re learning God’s word and you’ll find that the early Christians did come where they were being fed. And for example in 1 Corinthians 16 you have the Corinthian believers coming together where they gathered to worship and they were to bring an offering when they came and they were to do that weekly regularly and as God had prospered them.
I’ll read the verse. It’s a great verse. 1 Corinthians 16 verse 2 says upon the first day of the week, that’s Sunday by the way, let every one of you lay by him in store as God has prospered him that there be no gatherings when I come. So they would come together on the first day of the week and they would bring their offering. But there is no verse that says that we’re to bring our New Testament giving to the storehouse.
That had to do with Israel and not us. And I think that that’s It’s okay to give other thoughts. I think I think it’s going to increase God’s kingdom. Amen. Because really in the broader sense the church is comprised of all the believers everywhere that put their trust and Christ in Savior. It’s a living organism. It’s not a building. It’s not a denomination. It’s a living organism. Thank you, Jennifer. Very much. All right. So glad that Jennifer is listening up there in Holiday, Florida and called in.
We have now John in Richmond, Virginia and John. Welcome to Bibleline your on the air. How you doing? Good. I was just. Paired you speak to a guy while ago, man about the bullets and he was asking you about that and you told him about David. That David was like David did. Yep. Yeah, that’s right. David was saved. David was saved. David never lost the salvation. David’s salvation was never in jeopardy. But David was chastened as a delinquent son in God’s family and he lost the joy of his salvation.
In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit could come and go and he also asked in the 51st the psalm that the Lord not take the Holy Spirit from him, but he could not lose his salvation. But what he… Well here he confesses that sin to the Lord, but that brought him back into a restoration of fellowship. It never… it didn’t bring his salvation back. Salvation was never jeopardy. What? What? Nobody had did that. That’s true. And he did that because he was talking about God chasing.
He wouldn’t got to back off on the chasing and the pain and he wanted the joy of his salvation back. He wasn’t saying, God, give me my salvation back. And the same is true of us. It says in 1 Corinthians 11, 32, that 31, if we would judge ourselves, then we should not have to be judged. When David judged himself and realized what a crime he had committed, and he confessed that God would be a man. to the Lord, the Lord backed off on the chasing that he was bringing.
But God wanted to get his attention just like a father would of delinquent child. And it says in Hebrews that for whom the Lord loves he chases and scourges every son whom he receives. But he doesn’t take away your salvation. He simply disciplines you if you’re delinquent. And then if the discipline has brought about its effect God doesn’t have to spank you anymore. Yes sir. We were to pass away before we went back to God for His, for their kids to give and what He did when He went to heaven?
Absolutely distress Why He asked God so God could forgive him for that? That’s not what the petition for a Psalm says John you, have to read it carefully John. John didn’t say, I mean, David didn’t say, restore unto me my salvation. He said restore unto me the joy of my salvation. David knew he was saved and saved eternally. The 23rd Psalm, he said, surely goodness is mercy. He shall follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
David knew he was going to heaven. He knew he didn’t say, I hope, or I would like to. but he said he would go to heaven and he knew that and it was never in jeopardy but his joy was in jeopardy and he obviously had lost that joy and he was wanting to be restored in fellowship. It’s just like being raised in a home. I was raised in my folks’ home and when I I was obedient, they blessed me and rewarded me.
I maybe had a raise in my allowance, and maybe I got some extra special privileges during the week or on the weekend. But when I was delinquent, then they took away some of those privileges, and maybe I got a reduction in my allowance and so on. But I was still their son, whether I behaved or didn’t behave, whether I obeyed or whether I did no bae. I’m still her son, even though they passed on into eternity. There’s a connection there that I can never erase.
I am always my father’s son, and the same thing is true for a believer. Once you trust Christ, you become born again. You become God’s child. And David, as God’s child, was never in danger of being lost. God doesn’t kick his kids out. But as we just quoted a moment ago in Hebrews 12, 6, for whom the Lord loves, he chastens disciplines and scourges every son whom he receives. Now how are you received in God’s family? That’s by faith.
When you trust Christ’s Savior, you become born again. And as a son received in God’s family, now you have God as your Father for the first time. And if you are delinquent, he’ll spank you. And you’ll not be happy about that. It says in verse 11 of Hebrews 12, no chasing for the present seems to be joyous but grievous. Nevertheless, afterward it yields a pieceable fruit of righteousness under those that are exercised thereby. So if you have a spanking from God, the intention on God’s part is that it brings about righteous living.
that you’ll straighten your life up and of course that’s what happened in David’s life but it didn’t have a thing to do with his salvation. It had everything to do with his Christian life. Thank you so much John. We appreciate that call and we are now going to go to another call here. By the way the phone number is 1-800-576-3771-1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go to Tyrone in in Copress Cove, Texas. And the great state of Texas, Tyrone, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Yes, I had a question in with regards to works and believing. Is believing at all by any means works? The answer is… The answer is no. Let me give you a couple of verses. This is a kind of neat little thing here. If you go to Romans chapter four. Yeah, let me read this verse for you. It says in Romans four, I’m turning there as we are, I’m almost there.
So in Romans chapter 4, I think I could probably quote it without turning, but I’m going to turn there anyway. But in Romans 4, 16 it says, therefore it is of faith that it might be by grace. Then if you tie that with Romans 11, 6, it says that if by grace, then it’s no more of works. So whenever something is of grace, grace means the absence of works. And here it says therefore it is of faith that it might be by grace and then it says in Romans 11 6 if by grace Then it’s no more work.
So obviously faith is not a work and in fact It’s contrasted with work in Romans 4 5 where it says but to him that work if not But believe it on Christ who justifies them godly his faith in Christ is kind of for righteousness Right, so that’s a great verse as well Well, so faith is not a work if it were a work, then that would be contradictory. The Bible says it’s not based upon works, and there is no work that you and I could do to be saved, but to trust in the finished work of Christ, because He’s the one who worked the work of God, and at the cross He said it is finished.
He totally finished the work of salvation by His death at the cross. So Tyron, I hope that helps. And Tyron, I think, is gone. So thank you, Tyron. That’s Texas, and that’s exciting. Robert in Richmond, Virginia. All right, Robert, welcome to Vibelan. Are you there? Somehow I’m not getting Robert. Yes. Okay, Robert? Yes. You’re on the air. Another question in reference to a TBN broadcast. I was watching last week. There was a gentleman on there who had died and had an experience of going to heaven and also seeing the hell.
And he said he hadn’t given his wife. After viewing the head, he was taking the hell. He experienced hell there in the angel that was with him, told him that because he hadn’t forgiven his wife, if that was his day of judgment, he would spend eternity there in hell because he hadn’t given his wife a common one that’s what he’s don’t believe it uh… the bible teaches that once you guys you can’t come back and uh… just read he bears nine twenty seven supported in the men once the die and then the judgment so if he died he doesn’t get to come back reincarnation teaches you come back in the dying you come back in the dying you come back not not possible If you are a believer, you are absent from the body, present with the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5a, but if you are an unbeliever, you are absent from the body, present in
Hades, not hell. There is a lot of flawed teaching there because there is nobody, nobody, nobody in hell right now. Satan is the first one in along with the Antichrist and the False Prophet. Revelation 20 verse 10, Satan is cast in and then you have Satan’s angels cast in And then you have the lost of mankind cast in, and they’re waiting right now in Hades, a place of Flamin’ Tormund. But there’s no one in hell right now. The whole teaching is totally wrong.
These people make things up, and you better believe that nobody who has died is coming back. But this is the area of the occult. The demons, Satan’s angels, impersonate the dead, and they would love to have these kind of stories circulated so that you buy into this kind of nonsense. And that is absolutely what I call it. That is absolutely nonsense. There is nothing to it that’s scriptural at all. It’s wrong on every count. Thanks a lot for calling in.
And boy, I’ll tell you, the bad doctor in the sound through the day is getting worse by the day. And I think people make up stories. I’m Dr. Inquins from, this has been Bible. I hope you’ve enjoyed today. It’s August and again, these are the Lean Summer months. We could choose your help if you could help us. Again, I want to thank you for tuning in.
It’s always nice to meet our listeners. We had a wonderful couple come all the way across the state yesterday from Sanford, Florida to visit our evening service and we had such a wonderful time together. They said most of their church in Sanford listens to Bible on. So I told them, please tell them all hi from me and maybe they’re listening right now. We enjoyed that. And we always like to see visitors come and you’re welcome to come by. But if you can’t, we know you’re maybe living far away and another part of the country.
But you can watch our worship services on the internet. You can listen to our radio programs throughout the week on the internet. We had a fellow that called this morning from South Carolina who was in a broadcast area, but now moved out of a broadcast area, but now is listening on the internet, which makes it possible for you to listen anywhere in the world. 150 countries so far and even over the weekend we had somebody from the Palestinian territories that not tuned into the Bible and program.
We’re excited how God is using this program and the internet to be able to reach people of the Gospel. People are finding our website. We had just in the month of June, I need to get the update on that, but for July. But in June, we had 2,800 people just look at that seven-minute video at the beginning of our website, near the presentation of how to be saved. And so many things on our website are going to be helpful to you.
Again, we appeal to you to pray for us, and we have many that tell me they do. Many tell us that they plan day around Bible. I mean he tells us they listen every day and we thank God for all of you. If you could help us financially as we go through this summer period we could use your help right now. We really could and you could send that gift by mail or you could do it by credit card over the phone.
Call. Would you? Call that 800 number operators are friendly. They’ll help you. You can do it by credit card. You can also ask for an envelope with our address on it to send a gift to Bible. You can also get your pencil ready and copy it down. We’ll give it here as we go off the air. God bless. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming and we believe very soon.
