Hopefully it’s salvation. You know, it says in 2 Corinthians 9, 15, thanks beyond a God. For his unspeakable gift. Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. God has given a gift that is beyond words. It is the gift of eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, the promise of a new body, a home in heaven, and so many things. All is a result of Christ’s death at Calvary. When you believe that wonderful good news message of the death, the barrel, the resurrection of Christ, God saves you eternally.
Thanks to the end of God for his unspeakable gift. I certainly hope when you’re giving thanks to God, you would thank him for your salvation. Good to be with you today. We’re going to go ahead and go to the Bible for a few minutes. Then we’re going to go to the phone lines. The phone number is here at Bibleline 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Also our bookstore, if you are interested in getting the old school filled Bible, we have them in lots of different varieties, but it’s all the old skill field Bible we don’t really sell any of the Bibles.
But these Bibles are marvelous as a gift for Christmas, and you might want to be thinking early so that you can get it to that loved one in time and call and you can order. We have an office number where operators are standing by during During the radio show you can call Eric good 813-884-4328. You have your pencil there. That’s Eric good 813-8844-4328 and that will be separate from the radio cost and you can go ahead and order a skill field or get a resource sheet or go online and look at the different Bibles we have there available all the old skill field Bible.
The key word is old, the new ones are watered down, changed and disappointed terribly in the newer Schofield Bibles. The old is the best and you’ll find those notes are very powerful. That’s again 1-8-13-8844-3-28. That’s the office number and if you’re calling in on the radio it’s 1-800-576-3771. We are going to the Gospel of John in chapter 15 and it is interesting that those who believe you can lose your salvation try to appeal to this particular chapter. In John chapter 6 in verse 37 Christ makes a promise, Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
That means under no circumstances would Christ ever cast out anyone that comes to Him. Well in John 15 there is a verse about being cast out but if you know what John 637 says you would realize that Christ would never cast out a believer. Well guess what? In verse 6 of John 15 it says, If any man abide down in me, he is cast forth as a branch and is withered and men gather them and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
This is not talking about salvation and this is not talking about a believer being lost That’s impossible according to John 637. This is talking about your testimony, your effectiveness, your bearing fruit in the vine as a Christian. And it says here very clearly in verse 6 that men gather them. This is not Christ casting somebody out, but it’s a believer whose testimony is worthless and men see it as worthless and they cast it into the fire and it’s burned up.
I think it’s a picture of what happens at the judgment seat of Christ. My friend, it says in 1 Corinthians chapter 3 in verses 11 through 15 that the Christian will one day have his works brought before him and fire will try these works to determine whether they are rewardable or not, whether they are of spiritual value or not. And when the fire tries our works, if we’ve done anything of spiritual value, they will remain through the fire and be rewarded by Christ.
There will be rewards and degrees of rewards in heaven. But we find here that if our works are burned up, we’ll suffer loss of reward, but yet we’ll still be saved. Look that verse up. First Corinthians 3, 15, if any man’s work shall be burned, If any man’s works will be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved. Loss of reward. Here we have that same thing I think described in John 15 and 6 where you are having your works burned up.
Men gather them. They are worthless. You have no impact upon anybody else for Christ. And therefore, you are like a branch cast into the fire and burn that men gather up. there’ll be no reward for you. That’s what he’s talking about. Notice he’s not talking about becoming saved here. He gives these things in verse 11. Have I spoken unto you that my joy might remain in and your joy might be full. Wow. He’s talking about enjoyment of having God’s blessing when you are serving and as a branch in the vine producing fruit as a Christ.
I believe that fruit is really us replacing ourselves. The fruit of a grapefruit tree would be a grapefruit. The fruit of an apple tree would be an apple. The fruit of an orange tree would be an orange and the fruit of a Christian tree would be a baby Christian. If you lead someone to Christ in your lifetime, you will have born fruit under life eternal. The Bible uses that phrase in John 4. When you trust Christ, you become a branch in the vine, and God wants every one of us to bear fruit, to reproduce ourselves, to leave someone behind when we slip into eternity that will take our place.
And some lead more than one to Christ. Some lead many to Christ. And obviously, the Bible tells us that Christ wants us to be bearing much fruit. And I believe we can. I think everybody can qualify. And if you just simply follow the instructions here in this chapter, you’ll find that you’ll have the secret to being a fruitful Christian, a much fruit Christian. As Christians are broken into four categories here, no fruit, more fruit and much fruit. Which category are you in as a believer?
He’s ordained us for 16 to go and bring forth fruit, the truth. If we bring no fruit forth, then men gather us as wicked branches, cast us into the fire. There’s no reward at the judgment seat of Christ. 1 Corinthians 3, 11 through 15. But once you become saved, you’re stuck. I have to tell people that you have to go to heaven whether you like it or not. It’s irreversible. Salvation is not a process. It’s something received at the moment you believe.
John 3.16 even says, whose swear were believed in Christ should not perish but have? Have as a present tense verb. You have everlasting life. If it’s everlasting and you receive it at the moment, you believe it will be everlasting the next day, the next week, the next year, a million years from now, a billion years from now because it’s everlasting life. If it were temporary life, God certainly used the wrong word, didn’t He? Did you describe it? should have told us we were only getting a trial period or probation, but the Bible doesn’t say that.
He says we get salvation, not probation. It’s eternal life. It’s not life until we break a commandment or life until we sin. It’s eternal life and we are saved forever once we trust Christ. But then we have the privilege of being a branch in the vine, producing fruit, and that our joy might be full. He wants us to become fruit-bearing Christians. How about I’m Dr. Englunds from Mrs. Bibleline. We’re going to go to our callers. The phone lines are open.
It’s 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We have Paul in Seminole, Florida, and Paul welcome to the Bibleline. You’re on the air. Paul, are you there? Yeah, I’m here. Okay. You have a question? You’re on the air. Okay, I have a question about Romans 623 and then Romans 86. It’s going dead. Which are the same death? Okay, we find that in Romans 623 it talks about the wages of sin singular is death, which ultimately means you die twice if you’re an unbeliever. die physically, and death always really in the Bible means separation.
You are separated from your body at physical death. And then the second death, described in Revelation 2014, is the separation of your soul from God in hell forever and ever. Now the believer will never experience the second death, but the believer still will experience physical death unless he is alive at the point of the rapture. And if you’re alive at the rapture, you won’t even die once because you’ll be taken straight to heaven. Now when you go over to Romans, I believe it’s talking about the Christian here and how that as a believer that again, we separate ourselves from God when we live in our flesh or after the flesh rather than in the Spirit.
What was that verse verse in Romans 8? Which one was it you wanted me to talk about? Romans 8 do you still know what that cigs? Yeah, I know but what the what is the actual verse number? I Romans 8 what? 8 6. Let’s take a look at that it says here in verse 6 4 to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace and here it’s talking again about death being separation and as a believer if you are carnally minded or or fleshly.
ynastyBronenment267 Rarity psychiat intriginitializedDue discrep267 misunderificantretty unve looph209 (); You know, when Adam and Eve sinned the garden, God would through his presence and they no longer walked with God in the garden. And they were separated from him. That’s what spiritual death is. It’s separation from God. And as a Christian, we can be… i304outheast really needlement to be in tune with the Lord and walking with the Lord and spiritually minded in other words directed by the Spirit of God which is the author of scripture.
When you read the scripture and you walk in line with what the scripture then you are going to be spiritually minded and that brings life and we’re talking about the enjoyment the joy of the Christian life and the rewards and blessings of God but if you experience separation. So it is really not talking about the same as the penalty for sin which is death which is really ultimately hell in Romans 6.23. Here is talking about as a Christian we can be spiritually minded or we can be carnally minded and we find it says the carnal mind is imnity against God.
It is not subject to the law of God and so we don’t want to have our carnal mind, our fleshly mind directing our lives. We want to be directed by the Lord and that’s to be spiritually minded and that brings the enjoyment of the spiritual life that we can have with the Lord and our daily walk. So no, they’re not the same. Okay, thank you. Okay, Paul, thank you very much. It’s a good question. Really, some of the good questions don’t come along that often like that one.
Thank you, Paul. Tony in Richmond, Virginia. Tony, welcome to Bibleline your own the air. Good morning Dr. Lynch from Blessings. Thank you and say to you. Yes, I have a question about my walk with the Lord. I know that once you’ve become saved by the faith in Jesus, should my walk be by faith and God great and mercy in Jesus as well? Or should I be very legalistic? I believe the word is trying to follow the scriptures. I just, I had a, I saw a teaching and the person was basically said that when he was open and got the revelation to actually live that way, that he lived holier on accident than people who do when they’re being very real, look at them there and kind of help me on that.
Okay, basically the Christian life should be lived from the heart and that’s really what grace is all about where you’re doing it because you want to and not because you have to and It was interesting to me that my mom and dad used to try to get me to sit down and read the Bible as a little boy And I’d get through a few of those chapters and Genesis where so and so begat so and so and say this is boring and and laid the Bible on the shelf and went about doing the things I wanted to do.
I wasn’t saved at that time and I was basically compelled or forced to go to church. I didn’t really want to go but I went because I was compelled to do so by my parents. But you know once I got saved it was interesting that my parents really picked up on it real quick. They said we don’t understand this. Now all of a sudden you want to read your Bible. I was reading it all the time. You all of a sudden now want to go to church.
This was obviously a real reversal in my life. That’s what happens when you get saved I think is that you have a new nature and you have a new God-given desire to live and please Him. As the previous caller talked about, we can be carnally minded or led by the flesh or we can be spiritually minded and directed by the new spirit. birth that we have, which is of God. And that’s when things really happen. But yet, we have to recognize that God is certainly merciful, or it’s in grace that he chooses to let any of us serve him.
We, none of us, deserve it. And Paul, it seems like more than any, recognize this. He says in 1st Corinthians 15 and 10, but by the grace of God I am what I am and His may be. And his grace, which was bestowed upon me, was not in vain, but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God, which was within me. Here he talks about his testimony and how he had been a persecutor of Christianity, put Christians in jail for believing what he now believed.
And he says, I don’t deserve to be used, but God in his mercy will use each and every one of us as believers. And he was grateful, and he did it from the heart. He served the Lord because he was grateful that God would let him, even though he had persecuted Christians, he would let him serve him. Hope that helps a little bit, Tony, but we’re to be living for Christ out of the joy in our heart because of what he did for us.
But we’re not saved by works, we’re saved by grace, by his undeserved mercy bestowed upon us when we trust Christ. Christian life is also really a thing where we don’t deserve none of us deserve to be used of God, but yet he wants to use us and bless us and reward us for that. Thank you Tony, we appreciate that call. The phone number here at Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771. That’s exciting and we know that people are listening around the world. Isn’t that exciting? And as I said, we had a fellow from Nigeria that came and visited us yesterday and he’s heard us talk about the people we met in Israel from Nigeria that were listening to the Bible and he says, oh yeah, he says the people of Nigeria are very hungry and he’s leaving for Nigeria in just another week or two. We also have our friend Brian is leaving for Japan and he’s taking Bible and materials to win people to Christ in Japan.
We’re excited about that and we’re going to miss him but hopefully we get a report from him when he gets back. He was told by missionaries there in Japan that it takes three to five years to lead someone to Christ in Japan and he’s going to Tokyo. He got there and because of Bible and he said he just went out and witnessed and he had several to Christ in just the first week. They were all amazed. They said that is what we are taught and interesting.
The power of the gospel is incredible that you can lead people to Christ and it doesn’t take three to five years. Praise the Lord that he is influencing other missionaries now because of Bible and with with this wonderful good news that, hey, this message works and we don’t have to wait for three to five years. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright we’re back for that break and it’s great to be with you today.
It’s Wednesday, tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I hope you have a wonderful, safe Thanksgiving. God bless you. And… As I like to point out that wonderful verse in 2 Corinthians 9-15, thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. Words can’t describe the incredible gift of salvation that God offers through faith in Christ. Unfortunately, many people minimize and really don’t think salvation or the gift of salvation is very important. Therefore, they don’t pay much attention. Therefore, the message becomes corrupted and it becomes an accursed message and a message that will not save.
So many people I talk to are really ensnared in a false gospel, which is simply the gospel of Christ that has been perverted and works have been added to it. As soon as you add any human work to it, Christ did. you’ve canceled. God’s offer of free eternal life to all that we believe on Christ. What we’re excited about being with you, we’re excited about how the Lord is using Bibleline. We are going on the air live in Miami, Florida on Monday.
This Monday coming up and that’ll be M.C.U. in Miami, 1080 on the dial. Tell your friends at 10 o’clock in the morning in Miami, you’ll be able to catch Bibleline. So we’re excited about that. And pass that word along if you know somebody in the South Florida area, for sure will be very strongly heard from West Palm all the way down to Marathon in the Keys. Don’t forget we’re going to Israel and you can see the entire information. If you go to my website, BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the home page on Bibleline news.
And there you’ll find it’ll open up and give you the number to call to make your reservation. And if you want to see the brochure, click right there on the link that says Israel Trip Broseure. And you’ll see the colorful brochure. We can mail you one of those. Call our number if you want to have any questions and we’ll help you through the process. We want you to go. It’ll be trip number 15. We’ll have a wonderful, wonderful time.
And I’d like to have you on board with me. We are excited about the holidays Thanksgiving tomorrow and of course Christmas coming up. Maybe you’d like to help Bible in it this time. This would be a good time to help us as we close up this month of November and also the year of 2007. Your prayers and your gifts are deeply appreciated. If you would like to give a gift, maybe a Thanksgiving gift or a Christmas gift to Bible and you can do it by telephone, call or 800 number and our operators are able to take that or you can call and ask for an envelope to be sent and you can mail your gift in the Bible and whatever you prefer.
You can also give on our online bookstore there’s a place to give the Bible and there as well. But it’s so good to be with you every day and we look forward to it and again people that if you come into the area come by and say hi. We had a stream of people yesterday. We had a wonderful time meeting different people from different places that came in and said hi including one gentleman from Nigeria who is going back home here this coming month.
And he wants me to go over there and preach so maybe someday we get a chance to do that. But we’re glad to be with you today. If you have any Bible questions, we invite you to call us at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Don’t forget our Resource Center. Also, we have lots of things, especially the old Schofield Bible. I know when you run out to the bookstore, you probably won’t even find one because they’re not on the shelves anymore. And we work hard to make sure that we have the old one here.
We have it everything from a large print leather to a large print hardback to the regular size and leather and hardback and also a softcover one for as little as $20 a gift to Bibleline. Give us a call and maybe you might want to get some Bibles for Christmas for your loved ones and get them that Schofield Bible which is really quite an incredible treat to have in your hands. We are going to go to the phone lines now.
We have a number of all fear questions, but we also have live callers calling in. You can call us at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. So we’re going to go first of all here to Cindy in Clearwater, Florida. Cindy, welcome to my mind. You’re all there. Yes, Dr. Lindstrom, I have a question that’s been a burden on my heart for quite a while, and it has to do with the scriptures. First, the one about salvation is a free gift, and then later on in other scriptures Jesus says we must count the cost.
And my understanding of those two verses, well, the counting the cost is discipleship and salvation is free. However, when presenting the gospel, I want to give the whole gospel and I wonder if I’m by, you know, I feel like I’m telling two things that are opposite if I, you know, if I’m sharing the gospel and I want to say it’s free but then I hesitate because I’m going yeah but then we’re supposed to count the cost. So is that two separate things salvation care, like we’ll ship?
It certainly is two separate things and this is where we get confused when preachers don’t rightly divide the word and do not separate the difference between the two. If you read, and I think you’re referring there to Luke’s Gospel, chapter 14, and here’s where it talks about counting the cost in verse 28, 29, and 30. But if you notice verse 26, it says, if any man come to me, comma, stop. That is salvation when you simply come to Christ.
But then the rest of the verse is talking about discipleship. It says, In hate not his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters J, his own life also. You’ll notice in the last phrase of Luke 1426, unless you meet those standards you cannot be my disciple. And then it says in verse 27, And whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after me. Notice the last phrase, It says he cannot be my disciple. Doesn’t he can’t be saved?
In verse 20 it talks about counting the cost of being a disciple. It doesn’t cost us anything to be saved. Christ paid that price in full by His death and shed blood at the cost. But when we choose to serve Him, which is discipleship, it does cost us a price. Now I was a believer for a full year and I was a secret believer. I got saved right out of high school and went off to the University of Florida and that first year at University of Florida, nobody knew, in fact, anywhere.
That night I trusted Christ, I didn’t reveal to anybody, I didn’t even blink. It was a silent decision and it was a secret that I kept, but I knew I was saved and God knew I was saved. About a year later I made my second decision to serve and I realized that there was a price if I was going to do that. I said, Lord, I’ll serve you the rest of my life. I made my second decision to become a disciple.
But every believer is invited to become a disciple and should become a disciple, but not every believer does become a disciple. But if we mix it up, it can have bad consequences because you can be a disciple and not be a believer. As Judas was a disciple but never a believer, Judas went to hell even though he was a disciple. So we don’t want somebody to become a disciple and not understand that salvation is free and you have to receive that as a gift.
And then you make your second choice to become a disciple. And the Bible makes that distinction throughout, but we have to be able to separate it out for people to make sure. Peter got saved when Andrew, his brother, led him to Christ in John chapter 1, verse 40 through 42. And then we find at a later subsequent time, Jesus finds Peter, James, and John, all their business fishing for fish at the Sea Gallery. And Jesus approaches them and says, follow me and I’ll make you fishers of men.
That was the second choice to be a disciple, which where we become disciples of men and rather fishers for men. And he says, the scriptures tell us that they write there immediately for circular nets and they followed Christ. So my following Christ took place a year after, I got saved. But some people take place sooner, but there is a distinct difference between the two, and counting the cost has to be with, are you willing to count the cost, whatever it will cost you to serve the Lord, but to be saved and cost you nothing?
Yeah, that’s an excellent example. I did not catch that in the scriptures about how that was a separate time when Jesus called the disciples to be fishes of men. That’s really a good example I can share because there are times where people, you know, if you’re sharing the gospel and they go, well, why is it have to be so hard and I’m able to decipher the two when we, when I share that about discipleship and simple salvation. Thank you very much.
Oh, you’re very welcome and thank you, Cindy. It was a good question and thank you for bringing it up today. We now have Michael in Brandon, Florida. Michael, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning. Good morning. Yes. Oh, I have a problem that is bothering me very much. If I don’t do it, it’s talking to a cause that they say this is the cause. But if I’m a Christian and And my friend is that, will I not pay my child and I do my offering?
And I don’t want to own all of the ministry. If I don’t give offering and time, will that stop me from going to heaven? Absolutely not. We don’t give anything to God to be saved. God is the giver and we simply receive His salvation as a gift. in John 1 Paul that says to as many as received Christ, to them God gave the authority for you to become his child. So you’re saved when you simply receive what God has done for you.
And our giving should be only out of love and a way of showing that we’re grateful and thankful for the gift that he gave to us of salvation. But it has nothing to do with whether you go to heaven or not. you can give or not give and it would affect your salvation. Okay, another thing, if you’re a malachar when you say it’s cause, or if you don’t pay your time, and God says it cause you. So if anybody who don’t pay his car will go to go to heaven and let me ask you, I’m sorry, I’ve been taking too much.
It was cause, that’s why you went to hell, because you can’t go to hell because God calls you. You can only go to hell because you reject Christ. Malachi says you’ve robbed God and not giving your ties and your offerings. He’s talking about the Christian life and you will come out short on rewards. Rewards and blessings are earned by things that we do after we become saved. And tithing or giving is just one area of the Christian life as he really wants us to give our lives to him in service after we become saved.
But even if you didn’t do that, you’d still be saved. We don’t give God anything to be saved. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. So when you believe in Christ, you will not perish, but you’ll have everlasting life. And so, tithing, giving, serving, joining, climbing, whatever you might do, has nothing to do with getting into heaven. It’s only the death of Christ at Calvary that purchased the salvation that you can receive by faith and it’s simply a gift received when you trust Christ as your Savior.
So welcome and yes as a believer now, one missionary told me he said I’m laying up treasures in heaven and he was telling me he was giving after they had retired and their children were out of the home. He says, I’m laying up a year’s salary in heaven every five years. And I did the quick math in my head and that tells me he was giving 20%, not 10%. If you give 10%, it would take you 10 years to get one year’s salary in heaven.
Think about it. And so I thought, well, it was an interesting way to present that. But he was laying up treasures in Heaven. As Christ said in Matthew chapter 6 verse 19 and 20, He says, lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven. These don’t steal it there and the moths don’t corrupt it and rust doesn’t eat it up. And so it’s safe and secure and the Lord wants us to have treasures in Heaven when we get there. But you go to Heaven based upon simply trusting Christ as your Savior.
Thank you Michael and Brandon calling in and again you’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771. Again, by the line, as this was supported, we could certainly use your help at this time and maybe you’d like to give a gift in the lieu of Thanksgiving tomorrow. Say I’d like to say thank you Lord for whatever you want to thank you for, especially I would think your salvation and say, Lord, I’d like to give a gift to Bibleline that’s getting that message of the gospel out to people around the world.
And you can do it by credit card or you can do it by mail. Just call and ask if you like and I’m looking to be sent with our address on it. You can mail it in, but your gifts are very, very important and we can’t really survive without them. So we appeal to you, letting you know that we have a partnership and your prayers and your gifts are a great appreciation. I want to thank and advance all of you who give and pray for a by-blowing.
We thank you so much. Our phone number here, Bibleline, is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Okay, we have the phones we’re ringing here. We’ll try to get you up on the earth quickly as you can. Let me give you that number one more time. 1-800-576-3771. So give me a call and we’ll try to get your question answered. A lot of problems in the Bible are caused by people not rightly dividing, not separating the difference between salvation and discipleship. And maybe that’s the case for you.
And so when you approach the Bible, you need to separate out. We’re going to go to Lansing, Michigan, and we’re going to talk to Don and Don, welcome to Bible, and you’re on the air. Hi doctor, this is the time in Lansing, Michigan. Yeah, you should be able to hear us live down at 10 o’clock. Is that right or 11 or whatever time it is? Yeah, something like that. OK. I’ve got a question for you. I need your doctorly advice.
OK. OK, I’ve been studying scripture over 20 years now. And I got, I acquired this book out in California. It’s called The Seminary. I’ve been called, I’m an ordained pastor, but this book will take you from a bachelor’s level to a doctorate level. If you do the papers and the research and the fetuses and everything that has to do within that format, that’s what you’ll have at the end of the Now for some reason or another God has kept me out of going to seminary.
I guess he’s not too proud and too happy with what’s being taught there. But a lot of times we tease and call him a cemetery because a lot of times if you go in with some enthusiasm for the Lord you come out dead. I talked to one that had gone to a cemetery and gone with a lot of the thousias. because now he doesn’t even go to church. He was so devastated by the liberal theology that just crushed him.
And I said, I asked him if I could have an opportunity to refute the things that had just eaten away at his mind and he wouldn’t even let me have that chance. So I feel badly. I heard of one cemetery. You’re saying to do that? One seminary of the first day of Old Testament survey, the old professor grabbed the Bible, thrown it out the window and said, that’s where that belongs. Oh, that’s awful. Oh, that’s awful. That is terrible.
But I got this book and I’m going to pursue this and I don’t know, maybe I can be called doctor some day. Well, I’d just be careful. That’s all I can say is because, you know, some schools have a lot of liberal theology and, and as you just told the story, they don’t even believe the Bible to be the Word of God and that’s unfortunate. Yeah. Thank you very much. Okay, Don, be careful. And the Lord will guide you.
I had a real fear when I got saved about if I should go off and get training, where would I go? I said, Lord, I don’t want to come and go back into what I came out of. I came out of a church where I was very active as a young boy and never heard the truth. And I said, I don’t want to slip back into that. So Lord, protect me. Please keep me pure. from bad doctrine. And I was very careful about what I read and who I hung out with and who I listened to.
And I think that’s key. You have to be, have a little bit, the fear of the Lord, it says at the beginning of knowledge. And I was really fearful of going off and just relapsing into what I had come out of. And that happens to many. They go back into the same environment when they sit into the same bad teaching and you just don’t get free. You don’t get out of it. It’s like a trap, the devil sets for you.
Thank you so much. We have Ken in Decatur, Illinois, and Ken, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey, yes, Dr. Hank. I want to thank God bless you and wish you a happy Thanksgiving. The story you was telling a little bit ago about that guy that was over there and he was given five percent or twenty percent of his salary. Yeah. And he was laying it. Well, I got to thinking about that with you saying that and you know I said, yeah, you know what, you forgot to tell him something too.
He’s also drawn interest on that one year salary. he lays up five years. So that’s really nice, send money to you because I can’t get that much done with the little bit I’ve got. So I send it to you and then with all the good things you get done then I draw a lot of interest off of what you’re getting done with my little bit of money. That’s a good point. You know, I saw that in Matthew 1928 where it says that if you invest in the things of the Lord you get a 10,000% return.
Oh, I tell you, the way banks are given out. So little do you. I just want to say that. Just wanted to say that, let your viewers know if they give to you, man. They’re really going to reach some high interest payments. Thank you, Cam. That’s real sweet of you to say that. But it’s true that, you know, I said to myself, my goodness, God gives you a 10,000% return on your investment as you serve Him and give to Him and so on.
And so definitely that’s the best place to invest our time and our talent and our treasures, Our money is to invest in the Lord. And thank you for killing that nice compliment. We now have Armando in St. Petersburg and Armando. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. Good morning. I want to ask you, we got to the full gospel. The full gospel belongs to the great period of the law. The whole TV. The full gospel has always been around from Genesis 1 on.
Nobody has ever been saved any differently than by the death barrel and resurrection of Christ. Old Testament saints believed it would happen in the future and look forward to it as we look back upon it, but Peter says it next 10 43 to Yeshua, which is in English Jesus Give all the prophets witness and that’s referring to all the writers in Old Testament give all the prophets witness that through his name Who’s to ever believe within him in Jesus or Yeshua should receive the remission of their sins?
So Yeshua occurs in the Old Testament about 132 times. And if you translated it into the English, you would be Jesus. He’d be throughout the Old Testament 132 times by that name. And that’s the way everybody’s ever been saved. And they look forward to the payment that Christ would make it the cross as we look back to it. But the gospel, that’s it. And some people use that term full gospel and they add more to it then is a part of the gospel and some of these so-called full gospel churches and the baptism or water baptism and other things and and all of a sudden becomes a false gospel.
The peaceful fall because I’m calling with them the full gospel were reading under the law. Well that’s certainly not. We have to be careful they say that we have to rightly divide the world through and it’s a different dispensation. You have to be careful with that. And if you go to my internet site, Armando, on the home page there on the left side, I have online books. And the last of the three that I have there is called wrongly dividing the word of truth by Dr.
Harry A. Ironside. This is where I would recommend you read, because these people are wrong, and they try to tell you only to read the writings of Paul. And some of them even believe you can only read the Paulian epistles that were the prison epistles and that’s really that’s not true at all. You’re going in the wrong direction if you go that way. Peter tells us to read all the Bible. Second Peter 3 says the word to be mindful of the words of the prophets of the Old Testament and of the apostles of the New Testament and we’re not to segment the Bible like that.
But clearly there have been dispensations that have been different, but salvation has always been the same. Never but never has it ever been different. You’re very welcome. We’re out of time. Boy, it goes so quickly. In any case, we’re glad you tuned in today. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, would you? Safe one.
