So, seven days a week here in the local area if you’re listening on 570 or 910 on the AM down. We’re excited about being with you every day and we hope that you’ll plan to listen every day and if you miss a program you can always go back and get it on the internet in archive.
You are able to catch this program right now live on the internet. We are just on our website BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the spinning globe and you’ll be connected to our radio page. That’s where you can leave an offer a question. Also, if you would like, you can, it’s all set to go. You just type in your question. There’s a place to put your first name, a place to put your city and hit submit and we’ll get that question. We’ll try to get those answered for you.
We’re excited about this weekend. It’s the third Sunday weekend in the month and we have a dinner, a lunch right after the morning worship service, all kinds of wonderful home cook food, you’re invited to be my guest. If you’re in driving distance, please come on and come over and if you want to come at 9.15 you can get my adult Bible study. If you want to come at 10.30 you’ll get the worship service and then stay as my guest for the dinner following and we’ll have some great food and fellowship and we invite you.
If you live in another city you can still come to our worship service by going to the internet. That’s right, our Our website has our worship service live. Every Sunday morning, go to 11 o’clock, click on the camera on the home page, and then at 11 o’clock you’ll see the worship service come alive with the sound and the video, and you can enjoy. If you do it here in the week, you can catch over a year’s worth of programs, all sitting there waiting for you to view and to listen to of our worship services.
By the way, all of those things can be ordered on CD or DVD if you’d like. Copies of our worship services are on CD. You can get them on DVD. We just finished teaching 1 Peter, 10 hours of teaching on that book, verse by verse, and you can get that set on CD and also on DVD. And you can play it on your DVD player. Some use these for facilitating a Bible study, a Sunday school class. If you want to do the video version, you can just get the DVD set and then you can play it on a large screen for as many people as you want to have see it.
Some people play a portion or part of that and then have discussion and you can do that and I know there are Bible studies around the country that use my CDs or DVDs and invite folks to come sit. They listened to a portion and they restarted the next week at the place where they left off and they serve refreshments at the end. It works out real nice. One gentleman said he had to build onto his house because the room was not large enough to contain those who came and that’s exciting to hear.
So take them. You can use them for your personal study. Use them in your car to and fro from work and also you can take and use them for a group if you want in a Sunday school class or a home Bible study, that would be great. We’re excited about the fact that you can go to our internet site and visit our resource center. And so if you’re at a distance, you can feel like you’re right here with us wherever you might be on the planet.
Again, we have some great books in our resource center. We have that book called The Exodus Case. That is incredible. It has actual pictures of the Cheerio wheels of Pharaoh’s army on the bottom of the Red Sea. You’ll be fascinated. with all that, and I hope that you will take advantage of that and get a book like that. If you put that on your coffee table, when guests come over and they open that up and you show them some of those cherry wheels, it gets a Bible discussion going really good.
What an incredible book as it shows the Exodus route and actually shows a picture of what could be the very rock that Moses struck and the water comes out. It’s a rock just like the Bible describes with a cleft in it. It was a split. split rock and you can see evidence how that at the bottom where water actually gushed or flowed out of this and quite a fascinating study you’ll find it a thrilling book along with many others that we have in our Resource Center that I think you’ll find exciting.
We just got a new stock of the Exodus 1 in and so we have plenty of those if you want to call and order one of those. Well we’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes then we’ll take our callers you Welcome to calls today at 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. So often you hear the term be converted. Be converted. What does it mean to be converted? Well, I believe that there’s been a great deal of confusion centered around the term conversion.
Much of this confusion has served Satan’s purpose blind the lost and confuse Christians. The hymn writer had it right when he said, what can wash away my sin? And then the answer being nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood can wash away our sin. Human effort or human contact cannot conduct, cannot contribute to our salvation at all. Faith alone in the of Jesus Christ determines one’s eternal destiny. Salvation, for sure, is not conditioned upon our works, a person’s behavior, conduct, or works at all.
In Romans 4 and 5, in fact, it says to them that do not work. To him that worketh not, but believeeth on Christ who justifies them, Godly, his faith in Christ, this counted for righteousness. Yet there are those that would sing the words of the above hymn that we mentioned, what could wash away my sin? The answer would be nothing but the blood. At the same time, contradict those words by a presentation that seems to say the opposite. And usually, sometimes it’s around the word conversion.
They would say something like nothing but the blood could wash away my sin, but you must change the way you are living in order to be saved. You must be converted unwittingly. Perhaps a Christian would therefore be teaching human works for salvation, contradicting the clear scriptures that teach us that were saved not of works, lest any man should boast Ephesians 2-9. Salvation is not dependent upon what we have done or what we will do, nor is it dependent upon our future or our past, is dependent upon Christ alone and what He did for us at the cross.
The Bible says, whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. What about conversion? When does conversion take place? Be converted. What does it mean? Well, here is the most interesting thing. The Apostle Peter was converted three years after he was saved. Let me say that again. The Apostle Peter was converted three years after he was saved. After Peter the Apostle had already been saved three years, he was then converted. Are you shocked? What does this do then to the term be converted?
The phrase be converted. Should we only tell safe persons be converted? What does it mean? Should we tell the unsaved to be converted? Why should a safe person need to be converted? Well, it sounds confusing, but let’s first look at Peter. Peter’s salvation occurred when Andrew led him to Christ. In John chapter 1 we find that Andrew Simon Peter’s brother says here in all quote down John 1 41. He first founded his own brother Simon and saved unto him we have found the Messiah which being interpreted as the Christ and he brought him Peter’s salvation came to Christ and was saved.
But Peter’s conversion is mentioned after the Lord instituted the Lord’s Supper, and just before Jesus entered into the Garden of Gethsemane. That was the evening before the crucifixion. Let me quote to you, Luke 22. Jesus says on the night of the betrayal, but I have prayed for the Peter that thy faith fail not, and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Wow! Peter actually became converted after the resurrection of Jesus Christ at least three three years minimum after he had become saved.
Conversion has to do with change. It has to do with the Christian life. We don’t change anything to be saved. We come as we are. The hymn writer had it right when he said, Just as I am I come, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me. We simply come to Christ as we are, trusting that he died and shed his blood to pay for our sins, and God saves us. And then there’s a second decision that we’re confronted with, that of discipleship or service or conversion, where we decide to serve the Lord and our lives change as a result.
And Peter didn’t become converted until after the resurrection. When people ask me, Hank, when were you converted? I tell them, usually, this is what I say, about a year after I got saved, I became converted. I got saved and my life remained the same for a year. But then the Lord brought me to a place where I chose to serve him and that’s when I was converted. And that took place about a year after I got saved. Peter was saved for three years before he became converted according to the New Testament.
We just quoted that verse and I hope you’ll take a look at it for yourself because it’s quite fascinating. At this point on the night of the betrayal, the night that Christ tells Peter that he would nine three times, Peter was not yet converted. He says that I’ll quote it again, Luke 22.32, but I have prayed for thee Peter that thy faith fail not, and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren that did not take place till after the resurrection.
So I was converted a year after I got saved. Peter was converted three years after he got saved. And it’s not talking about the same doctrine at all. When you talk about conversion, you’re talking about the Christian life. And oftentimes I enjoy it when people ask me that question because it gives me a chance to explain the difference. Hey, when were you converted? About a year after I got saved. And then they look at me with their own puzzled look and say, well, wait a minute, what are you talking about?
Well, I got saved by trusting Christ, but it wasn’t until I dedicated my life to serve the Lord that my life changed and I was converted. I hope this has helped make this a little bit clearer because sometimes we’re not careful with our terms and so many times people are talking about conversion and it is mixing people up because the word convert means to change. And some of angeles say you must be converted, you must change your life to be saved.
That is not true. You must trust Christ to be saved and then to be a disciple, to be a servant, to earn rewards, you must be converted or change your life in order to be effective. I’m Dr. Ingrid from Mrs. Bibleline and we’re going to go to the phone lines. Lots of people are lining up here to get up on the air and We’re going to go to Levita in Lake Worth, Florida. And Levita, welcome to the pipeline. You are on the air.
What? You’re on the air. Do you have a question? Yes. Does Dr. Hank? Yes, it is. OK. Dr. Hank, thank you. I am having trouble understanding the criteria God used in determining which of the Old Testament saints would coach paradise. was it their faith in God or their faith in Jesus? And if it was their faith in Jesus, how did they know Jesus since there was no Bible per se? And like with Abraham, that was my faith, but what about the little old lady 300 miles away?
What about those who were not Old Testament saints such as the Sadducees, Pharisees, other Israelites, et cetera, throughout the centuries? Did they go to heaven? So anyway, I’m going to hang up and listen to your reply. Alright, very good. Thank you very much for that question. Good one. And Peter tells us the answer in Acts chapter 10. You might want to turn there and write this down. Acts chapter 10 verse 43, Peter says to him, that is to Jesus.
And by the way, the Hebrew word is Yeshua. occurs over 130 times throughout the Old Testament. The English form of Yeshua is Jesus and it says in Acts 1043 to Him or to Jesus or from the Hebrew Yeshua give all the prophets witness. That tells us that every Old Testament prophet spoke about Jesus. To Him give all the prophets witness that through his name Yeshua, which occurs over 130 times in the Old Testament in the 39 books that we have, and obviously Jesus is therefore presented throughout the Old Testament, and it says that through his name Yeshua, or in English Jesus, that whosoever believeth in Him, that is what put their trust in Him, would receive the remission of their sins.
So Peter makes it very clear. Obviously everybody that was ever saved was saved in that way by simply trusting in the Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. You have Jesus everywhere. You know when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were cast into the burning fiery furnace? When the king looked, he said, didn’t we cast three into the fire? I see four. The fourth one is like unto the Son of God. That’s a reference to Jesus. Jesus actually entered into the burning fiery furnace with Shaddu Agmeeshak and Abednego and they came out of that fire with no burns, not even the hair on their arms were sins.
Their clothing was not burned or sinned and it just shows you that Christians don’t burn. It’s really a picture of hell that those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ will not be hurt according to the Bible by the second death which is to be cast into the eternal lake of fire. So they were saved forever based upon their faith in Christ and the gospel was spread by the prophets and by the Jewish people. They all were God’s witnesses.
In Isaiah 43-10 God says that Israel, you are my witnesses, saith, Lord or Yahweh. And so God tells them that they were His witnesses and He tells them what to witness and how that He says, I am the Lord and there is no Savior beside me, that He is the only Savior and of course God came and took on you in flesh in the first of Christ. But Jesus is the very same God as the God of the Old Testament and Yeshua was presented long before He ever died.
And of course they had all the pictures that foretold what He would do, how that He would like a lamb, being offered up, would be offered up in his blood, would be shed. And how that he would even die by crucifixion. Psalm 22 tells the crucifixion story, a thousand years before it ever takes place. It talks about his hands and his feet being pierced, how he would be buried, how he’d rise again from the dead. And it’s all there.
Then that’s what they believed in. Now the Pharisees didn’t go to heaven. Jesus says that. It Matthew 23, he says, judgment under your Pharisees because you neither enter into heaven nor those that are listing to you are not entering heaven because you prevent them by giving them a false message. So they were not saved and they obviously were misleading their audience and they both fell into the ditch. He said, you’re blind and if the blind leave the blind, both will fall into the ditch and that’s exactly what happened.
They were lost. They rejected the Savior that had been promised. But every saint in the Old Testament was a saint by simply trusting Christ as his Savior. They looked forward to His coming just as we look back to it. Let me give you one more verse in that Galatians 3.8. It says, the scripture foreseen that God would justify the nations through faith preached before the gospel on Abraham. Abraham heard the gospel. Abraham believed the gospel. Abraham was saved and the gospel is in the Old Testament.
It’s amazing how many people are blinded and haven’t looked or haven’t seen the gospel there. Jesus appears over 130 times by the name Yeshua, which in English is Jesus. Thank you so much and I appreciate that calling. I hope that helps. We’re now going to go to Tina. And Tina is in, Tina, excuse me, in Orlando, Florida. And Tina. Welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. We’ll give it a good try here. You know, it speaks about the act between a man and a woman that brings about conception.
And the only child that was ever begotten by God was Jesus. Jesus impregnated the egg in Mary. And Mary became pregnant. She conceived. And the Bible tells us that that which was conceived in her was conceived by the Holy Spirit in Luke chapter 1. So this was the God-man, as God himself became the father of that flesh. Joseph was not the father of Jesus, but God was. And so he’s the only begotten of the Father. And obviously that is very, very significant.
And we believe because of that, the sin nature of Adam was not passed on to Christ, and therefore Christ was sinless. He did not have that sinful nature passed on to him that all the rest of us of the human race have. That’s how he could be our Savior because he was sinless and we’re sinners. Then it talks about in verse 6 of Hebrews chapter 1 that you mentioned. And again when he bringeth forth, bringeth in the first begotten end of the world.
So obviously that is Jesus again is talking about his only and first and it will be his only child that actually was followed by God himself. Hope that helps, Tina. Now we’re going to go to Dave and Dave is in St. Petersburg and Dave, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Hello Dave. Good morning. Good morning. Your opening introduction was a perfect segue to my question. Okay, and I hope this thing through the parable Jesus has about the servants and each have given a talent.
And the very last servant was given one talent and he did nothing with it. And then Jesus tells him that he was lazy, he was a forceful servant and to cast him into our darkness. that to me it’s like that’s like a work salvation uh… to help me understand that please well absolutely what it’s talking about there is he wasn’t lost because he didn’t do anything with the talent but he was lost because he never trusted christ is his savior you’ll notice about the first two fellows in verse twenty one and twenty three he calls them both good now the bible says in Romans three twelve there is none good no not one in the nineteen jesus when the rich and ruler came to him and said good master what good things should i do that i may have the eternal life jesus immediately stops him and said what do you call me good
there’s none good but one and that is gone so obviously we’re all not good so to be called good we would have to have god’s righteousness god’s goodness credited to our account and the bible teaches that that occurs by faith when you trust your credit Trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, the very righteousness of God is credited to your account. Let me quote Romans 4.5, to him who does not work, who worketh not but believeeth on Christ who justifies the ungodly.
That’s us. His faith in Jesus Christ is counted for righteousness. So God counts the believer’s righteous. So the first two fellows here in Matthew 25 are saved. 21, 25, they’re saved as designated by the fact that they’re good or righteous, which occurs only by faith in Christ. Then also, in addition, they were faithful and they were rewarded for their faithfulness. So they interheavened because they’re good and that is they were a believer and then they were given ruling power over many things during the millennium as a result of the fact that they were also faithful.
So there are two things going on here. Our salvation is a gift and received simply by faith, but our rewards are also the result of our deeds. Now the last guy was called wicked. in the Bible, anybody that’s considered wicked is an unbeliever. Even though you might be very moral and very righteous in the eyes of men, the Bible says in Romans 3, 10 there’s none righteous, no not one. So if you die without God’s righteousness, which is credited to you when you trust Christ, you’re seen in your own righteousness which the Bible says is wickedness.
So he was an unbeliever. That’s why he was lost. And he was not only lost, but he was slothful, which means he would be assigned a degree of punishment in hell according to his slothfulness. But he goes to hell. He’s cast now to darkness because of his unbelief. So he’s an unbeliever. If they’re welcome. And it’s also clear just if you just interpret difficult verses in a lot of clear ones because Jesus said in John 637 that a believer Well, I will in no wise cast out.
He promised he would never cast out anyone who comes to him. And obviously this guy couldn’t be cast out if you were a believer or you would be contrary if you went Christ said over there in John 637. Thank you, David, for that question. Boy, the first half hour is just flown away on us and we are going to go to break here. We’ll come back and we’ll do a second half hour. Our website is full. We have online books that you can actually read and print out off of the website. Give it a try. Again, we have lots of callers calling in and we have a call now, Jerry from Dunedin, Florida and Jerry, welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Hi, Jerry, you’re on Okay. Okay, what’s your question? Oh, I’m sorry. It’s hard to hear the radio and talk on the phone. Well, you can’t do that. There’s a 20-minute delay, so a 20-second delay.
So you’ll really go mentally insane if you do that. Okay. My question is this. It’s in regard to an answer you gave to an earlier question about the first be gotten. You said that God impregnated the cell in Mary. But in fact, had he done that, would Jesus have not inherited Mary’s genes and thereby inherited sin just like all the rest of us? And so therefore I think that God put a separate zygote in Mary that Jesus would have no one’s genes, but is from a hang up so you can answer that question.
That’s a good one, but I don’t believe that is correct because the sin is passed on through the man. You read that through the Bible where it is through the man that sin has passed on or something in our blood and something from the man’s contribution that brings about the sin nature. And we know that it was very definitely clear throughout the Bible that Christ of the flesh was really directly related back to David and to Abraham and so on.
You see that in the genealogy of Luke which is Mary’s genealogy and how Jesus therefore was directly related back to King David. But also let me point out a couple of verses in Romans. Romans talks about, for example in chapter 9 about the Lord Jesus Christ, that the Jewish people were to bring about this Messiah. And it says in chapter, let’s see if I can… He says, The Israelites are the ones to whom the Pecanity adoption and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises.
Then verse 5 of Romans says, Whose are the fathers and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came? So, as concerning the flesh, definitely Mary, it was her contribution that made Jesus a direct legitimate descendant of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and also of King David. Mary was on the side that came down through Nathan, a son of David, and Joseph was of the Kingly side Solomon the son of David became the side for the genealogy and Matthew. So it was very important that obviously there was no human father but we find it definitely that God was the father of that child and she became pregnant and obviously the pregnancy occurred when the angel was explaining that to Mary in Luke chapter 1 and I’m turning there right now.
We find that she said, how can this be seeing I know not a man? And we find the answer is given. And the angel said in her the Holy Spirit shall come over the and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. So God himself impregnated Mary and she became pregnant, but it was her egg and it was the only spirit that caused that birth.
It’s a great thought that the man passes on the sin because Joseph was eliminated from the equation. The sin nature of man was eliminated as well. We now have Antonio in the spring hill Florida and Antonio, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, hi. I just started beginning from study, and basically I know from listening to your poems you mentioned certain things that you don’t agree with them. And I like if you could give me some insight on what they believe and any questions that I should ask them, if there’s any kind of like contradiction in terms of what you say in the Bible and what they say because whenever they actually show me the passages in the Bible, I’m going to hang up on the sensory answers so I could really hear it.
Okay, you’re putting yourself at risk when you study with those people because they will eventually brainwash you and overcome you because you’re not prepared at this point to take them on. But I could tell you more about what they don’t believe than what they do believe. They don’t believe in blood transfusions, they don’t believe in allegiance to our country, solution to the flag celebrating birthdays. They don’t believe in the Trinity. They don’t believe in the deity of Christ. They don’t believe in salvation by faith.
They don’t believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit. They don’t believe in just about almost anything. They don’t believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ. But as a result, the Joel’s Witnesses are lost. And I would give you just a couple of thoughts here. In the first John chapter 2. It says in verse 23, Whosoever denyeth the Son the same hath not the Father? Well, they deny Jesus Christ being the Son of God and God in flesh. They say, and we I think mentioned this on the program yesterday, they say that Jesus is Michael the Archangel.
Well, you have to make up your mind here who he is. They believe that he is not the Son of God. They They deny the son, therefore they don’t have the father. So they are fatherless. They don’t have God the father. So they are really without Yahweh or Jehovah. And so I say to the Jehovah’s Witnesses that they are Jehovahless. So you really worshiping with a false group, a cult. They don’t believe in hell, another thing that they reject.
They reject about every doctrine that there is in the Bible. And if you took away their watchtower literature, you could probably get them saved. They don’t really read or study the Bible. They study the Watchtower, which tells them answers. And they practice on Thursday night when they go to the Kingdom Hall on how to victimize you. Now in 2nd John, in verse 9, it says, who’s to ever transgress us? That’s everybody. We’re all sinners. And abideeth not in the doctrine of Christ.
Here it says, hath not God. So, according to this verse in 2nd John verse 9, they don’t even have God. So the Jehovah’s Witnesses are not only Christ-less, faveless, or Jehovah-less, but they’re godless. They just don’t have it at all. And one day they’re going to wind up in a place that they actually reject. And that’s hell, because they reject Jesus. Who’s whoever denied the son, the same hath not the father. In 2 John 9, if you deny the doctrine of Christ, you don’t have God.
So they are godless and they are Jehovahless and they are lost. We need to pray for them. I have led many to Christ. We had one recently get saved through Bibleline that was the sixth generation, Joel’s Witness, who was one of their teachers traveled all over the world speaking on their behalf and He told me face-to-face that he committed the unpardonable sin. I said what is that? He said I listened to Bibleline as a result. He said I got saved so I recommend that you really don’t study with him because they may absolutely overcome you are brainwashing, but they definitely are not the truth and you need to be in a sound church where you’re able to go back for answers on a regular basis if you study it all with them because they go back to their group to get answers for what you’re saying and they are sure
it up by the group but unless you have that kind of support they’re going to get you. Send them to come see me. They don’t want to come see me and obviously they will prey on people that they think can become victimized by them. Thank you for that call. I sure hope that helps and we hope that you’ll really stay away from them. We’re going to go now to Sarasota and we have Jesus on the line. Welcome to Bibleline.
Good morning, Pastor Hank. I have a question here in regards to John chapter 8 and verse 24. Are you there? I’m right here. I’m sitting right there. Okay. John 824, Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees. And he says that, that they will be kind and they’re seen because they did not believe that I am, he said. Now is there any relation there when he says that I am? If you don’t believe that I am, you will die in your sins.
If there any relation there with Exodus 3, 14, where God, your whole life says to most, this is what I am. That is what I am. Absolutely. That’s exactly what he’s claiming. He’s claiming that he is the very same God Absolutely. that appeared to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and so on and that appeared to Moses there at the burning bush. In fact, later in the very same chapter, Jesus says in John 8 that your father Abraham rejoiced to see me and I’m glad.
And they said, looking at him, they said, you’re not even 50 years old. And are you trying to tell us that you’ve seen Abraham? And Jesus makes that remarkable statement in verse 58. He says, before Abraham was, I am. So he’s the eternal God who eternally exists. And he appeared Abraham in Abraham’s son. And he appeared to Moses, the running bush. And Jesus is claiming that he is God, that he’s the very same God that appeared to Moses. And if they don’t believe that, then they would die accountable for their sins and go to hell.
That’s simply the translators option and you have to go back and talk to the people in 1611 who did that. All right, you’re so welcome and thank you for that call. We now have Pete in Largo, Florida. Pete, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Pete, are you there? Yes, hello. Okay, you’re on the air, Pete. Okay. Question.
In my name they shall cast out devils, they shall speak in new tongues. Either that’s relevant for today and I’d like to know. Okay, sure. And you know what’s interesting here is that people pick and choose here. I believe they have all five of these and I don’t see them drinking the deadly drink and not dying and I don’t see them taking up serpents. There’s a few groups that do that, but they usually die. You read about them in the paper when they die so they don’t have the gift obviously.
But these were temporary gifts. If you’ll notice first, 19 after the Lord had been spoken under them, he was received up in the heaven and sat on the right hand of God. So Christ goes back to heaven and they, the disciples went forth and preached everywhere. Notice what it says here. The Lord working with them and confirming the Word with signs following. So these were gifts that confirmed the Word until the New Testament record was completed. For about 20 years, it was no Bible, no New Testament record.
And the Holy Spirit spoke to the apostles and gave us the New Testament record, which is completed by the end of the first century. And the Bible says clearly in 1 Corinthians 13, verses 8 through 10, that when the New Testament record would be complete, that these partial gifts would be ended. It says that in 1 Corinthians 13, 9, we know in part, we prophesy in part, and it says, when that which is perfect is coming, then that which is in part shall be done away with.
It also says in verse 8 there that tongues would cease or come to another complete halt at the same time. And history bears that out. There has been no tongues speaking period of any time for the past 2000 years until now in 1906 at the Azusa Street incident in California. This modern movement began, but it’s nothing different than the world religions have offered for the past 2000 years. It’s a gibberish. And in fact, the San Francisco papers said that they speak in a gibberish, and it was unintelligible.
And that’s not the real gift. The real gift was a known form language, a specific dialect in order to evangelize. and it was given as a sign gift to Jewish people up until the New Testament record was completed. And so those gifts of all ceased and they’re not around today. And if you read about the gifts and you compare what people are doing, they don’t have a gift. When I talk to people who claim they have tons today, I’ll say what language isn’t.
Well, they don’t have a clue. They don’t even know what they’re saying. No one does anybody else know what they’re saying. It’s a gibberish. and the Buddhists do it, the people in Islam do it, the people in all the tribes and the jungles do it in a satanic sands, the media will break into the gibberish. I mean, you can read the Encyclopedia about this and how that all religions do that gibber stuff, but the real gift that was assigned to the unbeliever was the very dialect of the language were born and raised in and they would hear the gospel in that language and become saved.
So these gifts are gone and I don’t see people raising the dead today. I don’t see them restoring missing flesh today. I don’t see people going on stage with one arm and coming off of two. The whole movement today is totally false and people are being deceived. In fact, Jesus said in the Matthew 24 that in the last days that it would not be believers doing the sign gifts and the signs and wonders, but it says in Matthew 24 24 when asked what would be the sign of his coming, he said they would arise false preachers and they would show great signs and wonders or miracles in Symmetra were possible they would deceive the genuine believers and he said in verse 25 of Matthew 24, I’m telling you well in advance I’m going to tell you beforehand that was 2000 years ago that watch out in the last days because it
be the false preachers that are doing the sign gifts. Hey, these things are always valid. Yeah, tell them you’re because it was completed. John wrote the book of Revelation 80, 96, and up until then, the gifts were operative. But if you read the New Testament record, Corinthians is one of the earliest written books. You have all those miraculous gifts there. But when you read a Fiesens written later The Americanist gifts are gone, tongues healing, all that’s gone, and Ephesians chapter 4 list of gifts.
Then you get the Romans written even later, and when you go to Romans chapter 12, where it list of gifts, all the spectacular gifts are already gone. So even before the New Testament was completed, they began to just wane away and drift away because they were rendered entirely unnecessary by the written scripture thing there. thing there. We didn’t need somebody’s personal words to be substantiated by a gift when the written word was now available to people and now we don’t need those gifts at all.
Beautiful. Thank you so much for your call and we’re now going to go to Carl and Carl is in Tampa, Florida. Carl, welcome to Bibleline. Yeah, Pastor Hank. I was wondering, you had someone you talked to me earlier about the Jehovah’s Witness. I had a cadence the other day to talk to this lady. She’s been, she’s 80 years old. She’s been a Jehovah’s Witness for 45 years. Very, very knowledgeable at the Bible. But as you say, denying Christ. One of the things that has been unknown that she was talking, I didn’t know at first she was Jehovah’s Witness.
And then later she was talking, I could tell it was something that wasn’t right. And when she was talking about Jesus being created. instead of being God. Also, as you know in John says, the word what’s God, they say was a God. One of the things I was thinking about is also when Jesus says I am in their Bible because I looked it up on the internet instead of putting I am, to have on there I have been. The other thing is that I was looking at Jesus talks about that he is divine and we’re the And I was thinking, you know, obviously if they claim to know God, but they deny divine, which is Jesus, it would be like, I look at a vine and I look at the branches and I look at the top branches and without the bottom, without the vine, even the top branches aren’t
going to live. So if you look at this in the natural, if you look at a vine, like the other way it gets the sources from, excuse me, if you look at the branches, you’re always going to get sources through the vine and so to acclaim the things. I claim that they know God but deny Jesus, which is divine. It just, you know, it just wouldn’t, it just, and the natural just couldn’t happen. Like cutting off the vine. You’re absolutely right and they just are blinded to that and they just obviously are not saved and they don’t know the word of their savior and unfortunately we need to pray for them because they are blinded by this cult.
Even the Watchtower Society admits that if a Joseph did not continue in the Watchtower literature for about two years they would become a posite which really means they would become a believer because the Watchtower Society keeps them off track in darkness. So it’s scary for them because they are definitely lost and they reject the Savior, which without Christ they cannot come to the Father. And that’s unfortunate. I have a very old copy of that, the Infatic Diaglod, which is their Greek translation with the English and mine goes back to, I think, about 1940.
And guess what? They didn’t have the article A there in John 1-1 in my copy. So they added it later. See, they’ve been constantly trying to counter people who point out errors in their philosophy and they added the article A later to say that Jesus is a God. But I have a lot of things in my arsenal here that I’ve gotten over the years that to show how they they they they lie they they absolutely change things that will to support their doctrine which uh…
even their own uh… literature they change it to make it conform to what they are trying to present and that’s not an enforcement Well, you know, one of the things that I read on next, I have a thing that I looked up on the 12th witness because I wanted to be able to give back with this lady. But, you know, many claims that they’re made about the end of the world. When I was coming 1914, 1918, I think it even was late in 1975.
And so obviously, you know, the prophecies, you know, never turned the path. And about what does about that. But the guy that was the founder, I understand, is Charles Hayes Russell. And this was back in 1879 and the fact that he just didn’t believe in the DFT and he did he didn’t believe and and you know it’s not a lot of time with these people because this may be particular that i was talking to forty five years she’s very And I think that most Christians don’t know their Bibles nearly as well as that she just knows about, you know, maybe I’d say what maybe 99% of it they believe is the same thing maybe that isn’t a Bible but that one other thing that they did not face does not entertain.
Well, that and also in Second John it says in verse 10 don’t invite them into your house or into your spiritual family to present their doctrines because you’re going to get in trouble. Right. I know that anytime they come to my house, I’ve never let them in the house for that reason because the Bible says don’t do that. But I talked a lot of these older people particularly because what I do is I help the old people with things that I work with them.
And some of these older people, they have these job work in the house and the Christians, but they’re doing a lot of studies. And these people are 75, 80, 85, 90 years old and they’re listening. listening to the verse. Unless you want to nice people and I just like to just talk to them. It’s very, very subtle. We have to run. We’re out of time. We have lots more call on it said we’re not going to get you today because of the time But again, we pray that everybody there has trusted Christ that are listening today And once you trust him as God who took on flesh who paid your sin that in full was buried and Rose again from the dead who shed his blood as the means of your forgiveness.
