We are hoping that Buddhists and Hindus and people of all faiths of Islam would come to know Jesus as their Savior. You too, if you are listening today and you are not sure about where you spend eternity, we hope that you would trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your only hope of heaven and receive his free gift to everlasting life which is offered free to all those that would simply trust Christ as their Savior.
We just finished teaching 1 Peter and those 10 hours of teaching are now available on CD and DVD. We hope he’ll take advantage of you can call 800 number and order that series and a lot of people are doing that and enjoying. It turned out to be a wonderful set. We also have just completed the Gospel of John 20 Hours of Teaching on CD and DVD. If you’d like to get that wonderful sent, it’s available. Plus about 40 others.
We have the book of Revelation. That’s really a popular one. The book of Daniel, we have the book of Romans. We have the book of Hebrews, which is considered a difficult book. You go out there in the bookmark and look for books and commentaries on Hebrews here You may too. And the ones who write them are their thin little books because apparently they don’t want to comment very much on Hebrews because they can’t figure it out. We believe we have dealt with all the difficult problems in Hebrews and make them plain for you.
And you might want to get that Hebrew set. It’s really a good one. Plus, we have those commentary sets that I like so much. And we have two. One is the Jameson Foset Brown, which I love so much, covers something on every verse in the Bible. three volume set cells for about 140-50. We have it for 100 and it is marvelous. Then we have a Jameson rather the J. Vernon McGee five volume set which is a wonderful set, beautifully bound five volumes and it takes you through the whole Bible and J.
Vernon McGee does such a wonderful job in giving you the right direction on each chapter. It doesn’t cover every verse but he does cover every chapter he gets you going in the right direction and if you have the two commentaries you really have it made. The Burnham McGee sells for about 200 everywhere and we have that also for a gift of 100 so that’s a nice addition to your library. Plus we have lots of things that are costing a lot less.
We have a lot of books by Dwight Pentecost and excellent author. We have his book on Hebrews, Philippines. We have his book on 1 John which is a wonderful book on fellowship. We have his book Things That Become Sound Doctrine, which really I like that one has a great chapter on repentance and nails it. That it’s not turning from sin, it’s not sorrow for sin, it’s a change of mind. And when you understand that boy, it just clarifies so many things because…
Satan has taken advantage of the mistranslation of the Greek word metanoia into the English word repent, which does not mean the same thing and caused us grief ever since. The Greek word really means to change your mind. And when you repent, you change your mind about whatever you’re trusting in. To be saved, you change your mind about who Christ is if you don’t recognize Him as God who took on him and flesh. and you change your mind about whatever you may have been trusting in to now trusting Jesus alone as your only Hope of heaven.
That’s a great book by Dwight Pentecost. We have so many you can order a resource sheet Just call in we’ll send that out to you free of charge. You can also go online and actually See all of our resources at our resource center by clicking on the online bookstore once you get to our website Bibleline ministries BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the home page on the online bookstore and you’ll get our resource center. Click on the spinning globe and you’ll get our radio page and our radio programs.
And if you click on the TV set, you’ll get our TV programs. And if you click on the camera, you’ll get our worship services. We’ve been excited about webcasting our worship services live. If you go there at 11 o’clock Sunday morning and click on the camera on the home page, you’ll get our worship service live. And we have people watching from Australia, from Europe, from Canada, from over. We’re absolutely amazed to hear from these people that are watching our worship services in other countries.
It truly is the worldwide web. And you can watch it. We have made our Mind Direct Church members. If they get sick and they can attend church, they say, boy, how wonderful it is to be tuned in at home. And although it’s not as good as the day I was. good as being actually in the service is second best they tell me somebody would just tell me that last night they were sick the last week in and they watched our worship service on the internet and then that night so go to BibleLineMinistries.org click on the spinning globe for radio click on the TV set for television click on the camera for the worship services and there’s a whole year sitting there waiting for you to look at and we I hope that you’ll take advantage of these sites.
If you have your Bible, get it out, then we’ll go to our phone callers. We have a lot of callers already calling in. You’re welcome to call it 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. You know, Christians are often told to bear fruit, some inspect other Christians and say, I’m looking for your fruit.” Then they quote the verse, you shall know them by their fruit. Guess what? Usually we’re taught totally wrong in this whole doctrine about fruit because the fruit is not the fruit of the Spirit, because the fruit of the Spirit is the fruit of the Spirit.
That is non-material. The Spirit is non-material, the Spirit of God. His fruit is non-material. and you can’t package it, you can’t touch it, you can’t throw it to somebody. It’s love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, maintenance, temperance and long suffering and so on. And these things are the fruit of the Spirit and that’s the Spirit’s fruit. When you yield yourself to obey the Lord as a Christian, as a believer, then the Holy Spirit produces His fruit in your life, which is those things that we just mentioned.
9 different fruit there mentioned in Galatians 5 22 and 23. But when it says you shall know them by their fruits, it’s not talking about the fruit of the Spirit. And we’re going to turn to Matthew 7 and take a look at this. Jesus is talking about false prophets. When he mentions this phrase in Matthew 7, he says, be aware of false preachers, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. So here false preachers look like the genuine thing.
They’ll look like a minister of Christ and they will come in sheep’s clothing, which is the identity of the believer. And inwardly though they are lost, they are ravening wolves. 16 says you shall know them by their fruits. Now what does that mean? What does it mean that they’re out drinking or on drugs or doing evil things or robbing banks or mugging little old ladies in the park? It’s really saying here about their converts. The fruit of a false preacher is their converts.
And you see that right here in the context in Matthew chapter 7 and verse 16 it says, you shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of fawns or figs of fissils? What does that mean? If you went looking for grapes, would you look for grapes on a foreign bush? Absolutely not. A foreign bush will not produce grapes. And would you look for figs? On a thistle bush, wouldn’t you think that grapes would be on a grapevine and that things would be on a fig tree?
That’s the way it is. That’s the law of nature. So it says, even so, every good tree, bring in fourth good fruit. Now what is a good tree? Well, the good tree is the believer. If you are a believer, you have been then declared good in God’s court of law based upon the substitutionary death of Christ. that he took your place at the cross, paid your sin debt in full with buried rose again from the dead. And as a result of his paying your sin debt in full, there’s an exchange it’s made.
And he became sin so that you might be made his righteousness and God calls the believer good. Yet, if you’re not a believer, the Bible says there is none good, no not one. No not one in Romans 3, 12. There’s not one person good. So those that are called good in the Bible are those that have trusted Christ and have God’s goodness or righteousness credit their account. And so if you’re a believer, if you’ve trusted Christ as your only hope of heaven, you are a good tree.
You have the courage to say that out loud, say it with me. I am a good tree. I am a good tree. If you’re a believer and you’re trusting Christ alone as your only hope of heaven, you can say I am a good tree. If you have not trusted Christ as your Savior, then you have to say, you have the courage to say it, I’m a corrupt tree. If you don’t know the one who is your Savior, then everybody that has come off of the tree of Adam is a corrupted tree.
Because Adam had corrupted seed. He sinned and that sin has been passed on through the man to everybody in the human race. Everybody that is at the center of Adam is a corrupt tree. If you become saved, you’re born again by God’s incorruptible seed and you become a good tree. So let’s try that again, class. If you’re a believer and you can say, say it, go ahead, I’m a good tree. I hear some of you, I think, saying it out there.
And if you’re not a believer, then you’re going to have to say, I’m a corrupt tree because Because you have the corrupted birth that has come from Adam down to you, but if you have trusted Christ, then you have the incorruptible seed of God that has bought about the new birth in you and you are a good tree. That’s right. Now it says here, the good tree, bring it forth good fruit, the corrupt tree, bring it forth evil fruit.
What is the fruit? It’s talking about the people that you influence. And if you are a believer, you ought to reproduce yourself. Let me just give you this illustration. If you were an apple tree and you were a branch in the apple tree, what kind of fruit would you expect to have on your branch if you were a branch in an apple tree? Well, you’d expect baby apples, wouldn’t you? If you were an orange tree, what kind of fruit would you expect on the branches of an orange tree?
You’d expect oranges. And it’s just that simple. If you’re a Christian tree, you’re a good tree, remember we just said that. If you’re a good tree, if you’re a Christian, what kind of fruit would you expect? Well, you’d expect, guess what? Baby Christians, that’s right. When you lead someone to Christ, they also become good fruit because, again, remember there’s none good, no, not 1 Romans 3, 12. But when you trust Christ, you become good. And so when you lead someone to Christ, you have produced good fruit.
And if you are unsaved, then obviously you’re not going to be leading anybody to Christ. And your fruit will be corrupt fruit because you are corrupt and you can’t bring about good fruit because you don’t have a gospel and you’re not saved. So it says you’re a good tree and cannot bring forth evil fruit, either can a corrupt fruit bring forth good fruit. And then it says every tree that brings it not forth good fruit is shooned down and cast into the fire.
My friend, that’s talking about hell. that are not born again, people that are only inherent, the corrupt seed from Adam are corrupt trees and they will be hewn down one day and cast into the eternal lake of fire. They will be in hell for all eternity. And the Bible says again in verse 20 of Matthew 7, wherefore by their fruits you shall know them. You know, if I want to learn about a false prophet, if I want to learn about the false teachings of an organization, all I have to do is examine their fruit.
For example, let’s say a couple of Jehovah’s Witnesses come to my door. I don’t have to travel to New York, to the headquarters of the Watchtower Society to find the organization that’s corrupt. All I have to do is examine that fruit that comes to my door. Not thought, yes. Jehovah’s Witness won’t, guess what? If you quiz them, they don’t believe in the Trinity. They don’t believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit. They don’t believe in the deity of Christ.
They don’t believe in the deity of Christ. in salvation by faith. In fact, they don’t believe in hell. They don’t believe in much that the Bible teaches so immediately. You know, these are corrupt fruit. And guess what? The tree that they came off of, which is the Jehovah’s Witness Watchtower Society, is a corrupt tree. The same thing is true of the Mormons when they come to your door. They use the send them out by two and standing at your door.
You don’t have to travel out Salt Lake in Utah to find out what the Mormon Church is all about. Just examine their fruit when they come to your door. Ah, look at that corrupt fruit. They deny that you use this up to Bible, salvation is by works, they don’t believe in hell, and so on and so on. All of these cults by the way have extra biblical revelation, which is also wrong. The Bible says you’re not to add to his tinnies book, the book of Revelation says you’re not to add or to take away from it, or you’ll be cursed with God, you’re not in her heaven, and obviously these cults have done that.
So you can know the whole organization is false because all you have to do is examine that fruit. That’s the fruit. But so many people get it well and they say, Uncle Harry, look at the fruit of his life. Why? He smokes, he doesn’t go to church. Blah blah blah blah, therefore Uncle Harry’s probably not saved. But it says why she goes to church and reads her Bible every day and she always is so nice and so kind with her words and she’s got to be a Christian.
Why I have examined her fruit. No, no, no, no. You’ve totally missed it. That is not the fruit that you do examine. The fruit is the convert. If you are looking for grapes, you go to a grapevine. If you’re looking for fig tree, if you’re looking for the fruit of a believer, you’re going to look for little believers. If you are looking for the fruit of an unbeliever, you’re going to find the people they’ve influenced are not saved and that’s the fruit.
And by their fruit, you shall know them. Well, I’m Dr. Englund, we’re going to go to the phone lines and take your call. The phone is 1-800-576-3771 and we’d sure like to hear from you today. I hope that everybody listening has trusted Jesus Christ as their only hope of heaven and are good trees. All right. We’re going to go to Scott and Saint Pete and Scott. Welcome to Bibleline thank you for your patience in waiting so long to be on the air.
Scott, you’re on the air. Yes. Hi. Thanks, take my call. My question is where in the Bible can I go to improve that the tribulation period is Well, first of all, the key passage I think from the Old Testament is Daniel chapter 9 where it talks about the 70th week of the prophecy of 70 weeks of years. 70 weeks of years, 70 times 7 is 490 years it would fulfill all prophecy. And if you read that incredible prophecy there in Daniel 9, it says that 69 weeks of years or 483 years would take place from the commandment that would be given to rebuild and restore Jerusalem after Nebuchadnezzar had destroyed it.
And from that time it would be 493 years till Jesus would come and die. And then there’s a gap of time which has now lasted 2000 years. And once the church is taken out of the rapture, the last seven years, the 70th week of years of Daniel will tick off the clock. So right now in a sense, since Christ died, the clock stopped ticking on the count of 490 years. 69 weeks of years or 483 years have already been fulfilled by Christ’s death at the cross.
The clock stopped. Now, seven more years are still to tick off the clock, but they’ll start ticking when the rapture happens and it’s seven years. In Revelation chapter 11, in Revelation chapter 12, it mentions 42 months or longer twelve hundred and sixty days. That’s exactly three and a half years. In fact, in chapter twelve, it makes twelve hundred and sixty days equivalent to a time and times and half of time, an expression from Daniel that nobody had a clue as to what it meant.
But now we know the meaning. Time is equal to one year, times is two years, one plus two is three, and then a half of times the half of your, three and a half years exactly, half of the tribulation period. And that is of course the amount of time that the Bible says that the Antichrist will really be in charge of the Middle East and over Jerusalem. And it says in Daniel, it would be for a time and times and half of time.
Nobody knew what it meant to Revelation chapter 12 when God opened up the meaning of the book of Daniel in the wonderful book of Revelation. And now we know that that expression means three and a half years. So that’s half. And so the Bible is divided into the tribulations period, it is divided into two halves, three and a half and three and a half, 460 days and 1260 days, seven years total. Hope that helps a little bit. Okay, well, thank you very much.
You’re welcome, Scott, and that was Scott. And, uh, St. Pete, we have now Elizabeth in Orlando for Elizabeth. Welcome to Bibleline. We’re glad to have you on here. Yes, my name is Elizabeth Baker and I’m talking about water baptism. Okay. A lot of people feel like water baptism is very, they feel like what you get to hold this period. That’s all you need. But you don’t have to be.
Well, you don’t have to be immersed in water to be saved, but every believer ought to be water baptized as a testimony. They’ve been cleansed of their sin, not by water, but by the blood of Christ. I’ve baptized people all the time by immersion. In fact, we’re planning to do some in Israel when we are there next week. We put them under the water and they come back up and it’s a ceremonial picture of the cleansing that occurs by the blood of Christ.
Revelation 1 and 5 says that we are washed of our sins in the blood of Christ when we trust Him as our Savior. absolutely. I believe in water baptism. If you weren’t about water baptized and you trusted Christ, you’re still good at heaven. The dying thief was saved without water baptism. Christ asked all of us as believers to give that open testimony of our faith by being water baptized. I try to get everybody to be baptized and I lead to Christ.
Well, that was water baptized. I believe in water baptism. Well, that’s wonderful. Everybody ought to be. But it doesn’t save you. If somehow you You were not able, if you got saved, you were not able to get water baptized, you’re still good at heaven. But it’s a wonderful testimony and it’s a wonderful time to remember that while I stood up and I proclaim my faith by being water baptized as Christ asked me and it’s an act of obedience and it brings about a blessing in your life for having done it, but it doesn’t save you.
Okay. Thank you, Elizabeth, in Orlando, Florida, calling in. Now I have Jonathan down in my area Florida and Jonathan. Welcome to my morning. Thank you. I’m here. All right. That’s great. I’m glad that my name is tuning in today. Yes. Is this a path of hang? Yep. You’re on there. Oh. OK. I have a question. Go ahead. Go ahead. The question is the church of what type of doctrine and is that a good answer is no. They teach workforce salvation.
the commandments after we kept. I have a track here from one of them in our area and it says, 22 things you must do to be saved. And water baptism is one of the key things that they try to tell you you have to do. By the way, Miami, I know you’re going to sign off now, but I wanted to say thank you for listening down there. And I hope you’ll tune us in every day and tell your friends about it.
And if you can help by blind, we are listeners supported. And we could use your help so we could get that full hour down there. So call up and give a gift to Bible and by credit card. Would you or call in and get an envelope mail to you so you can send a gift to Bible. Well, Jonathan, I can continue with you, but I think you’ve gone off the air down in Miami. But the Church of Christ, they’ve got some strange ideas.
In fact, they say if your church is not named the Church of Christ, then it’s a false church. So they’ve really gone a little bit too far in too many areas and they teach works. And I would not have. Okay, I thought that was the case with him. I haven’t been… I think going for a little while and I should have asked a little bit more questions, but down here in South Florida where I moved to, is there any terms that you suggest that maybe you’ve been in line with you guys’ search?
I’m sure there must be, but I really can’t tell you. I think you’re just going to have to go on the hunt. If you want, we have an article that I’ve written called, Beliefs That Matter, and it has about a summary of about 25 basic doctrines that a good church ought to embrace. use that as a guide and I would go on the phone call and say well what do you believe about the word of God? What do you believe about the Trinity?
What do you believe about Christ? Then what do you believe about salvation? And if you have internet you can just download that. Go to my home page and bottom right hand corner says Dr. Englunds from Zornikols on the right bottom and just pull up that one belief that matter and print it out. Okay, great. That was a good one. Thank you. Well, you’re welcome. And thank you for calling in from Miami, Florida. Wow, the first half has gone so quickly.
We’re coming up on our break here. We’re going to take a break. Come back and do a second half hour of Bibleline. And we hope that you’ll be listening on the Internet. You can get us live at BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the spin globe. And of course, if you can help us, you can use your help right now. It would be a good time to help us out with a gift. give a gift by credit card over the phone or call.
You’re going to call and ask for an envelope to be sent so you can mail your gift into the Bible and but God bless you in thanking and thanks for your prayers and for your gifts. We’re going to take a break, we’ll come right back, we’ll do a second and a half hour. And so don’t go away, stay right where you are. Don’t go away, Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771.
Well I’m not going to go into the instruments, great to be with you and we thank God for all of you who listen because you are obviously the ones that are a blessing to us as we interact with you and we hear from you and you all are the ones also that pray for and really also keep this program on the air by your gifts. God bless each and every one of you and we sure do thank you. Thank the Lord for all of you.
If you can help us at this time we are Mr. Support and you can give a gift by credit card over the phone or you can call and ask for an envelope to be sent and mail you’re gifted. But really, you are the only means by which we are able to be on the air. We don’t have any other means of support than a little bit that we get from our Resource Center, but we feel that that Resource Center is a ministry in itself to get people into the right books and to the right materials and the right Bible and to really help you that way.
I remember as a brand new believer not having spare money. And I would save up and buy books and you know sometimes I bought books. I still have them but they’re just worthless. Just wasted my money. And a lot of books out there today are just like that but we try to make sure that everything in our resource center is going to be really the cream of the crop, the best of the best and will really help you as a Christian and keep you right on track with sound doctrine.
The Bible warns in the last days that the Church would depart from sound doctrine and we’re there. Boy, what a mess is out there today with people teaching all kinds of things which are not difficult. And the Bible warns about how they would turn away their ears from the truth of the Word of God and we’re seeing it happen every day. We’re getting ready to go to Israel, we’re going to be broadcasting from Israel. So I hope you’ll be listening every day and you’ll kind of keep up with this and we’ll be still able to answer your questions.
You can submit them online or call in and they’ll be transmitted to us and we won’t be able to take your voice up on your live but we will be able to answer your questions. So submit them and you can call them in or you can send them in by email. What you do is you go to the Spinning Globe on the homepage of our website. It’s already set up for you to type in a question and put your first name in the city and we’ll We’ll get those in Israel and we’ll be answering questions over there.
So I hope you will. And it could be about anything. We would certainly entertain questions about what we’re seeing and the environment, whether the hotels or the food that we’re eating or what are you going to ask. Anyway, we’re about ready to go back to those stations that have been on break and do the second half hour by one. So I hope you keep your radio tuned right where it is and don’t let it move. And we’re going to do now the second half hour.
So keep your radio right where it is. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break, and this is Bible, and it’s wonderful to be with you. Thanks for tuning in. Today’s Thursday. It’s our television day we’re on tonight at 630 Eastern Standard Time. Standard Time Nationwide on Direct TV World Harvest Television Channel 367.
That’s Channel 367 to 9630. Everybody on the North American continent that has Direct TV can catch us if you’re in the Caribbean. You’re in Mexico if you’re in Canada. Anywhere in the United States, including Alaska, can watch our television program tonight at 630. He has a program on the internet, because the program that we air is also aired on the internet. You can go back and watch a bunch of them there in our time. Plus you can watch our sermons.
They are available by clicking on the camera. If you click on that camera on our home page on Sunday morning at 11. The video the audio will come up and you’ll be able to watch the service live But during the week you can watch a years where the sermons that are sitting there in archive and I hope you will You will do that It’s so good to be able to be with you. We get so many wonderful notes and letters from people that are Listing into Bibleline and we just thank God for all of you and for the fact that so many are are not only getting saved, but people going into the ministry we have, a man is going to change careers.
He’s through Bible and has decided he wants to serve a word. He’s going to train now and serve a word all because of Bible and we hear this all the time. And we’re getting correspondence because of our internet presence around the world from India, East Africa, West Africa, from South Africa, from all over Europe, from Australia, from India, just all over and of course Canada. We’re excited about what God is doing through the Internet Ministry. And I hope you’ll take advantage.
Take a look at our website, Bibleline Ministries, and we had last month. At the beginning of our video, rather our website, there’s a video, seven minutes long, It tells you how to be saved. And guess what? 1,450-something people watched that just last month. 1,400 people a month watching the seven-minute plan of salvation. So far we’ve had about 34,000 take our am I going to heaven quiz at the beginning of our website? You have to watch center and check that quiz out if you haven’t done it already.
And then they can write back around and pass it because they find out how to be saved. We’re doing, that’s happening at a rate of about 50 people a day, or taking that, am I going to heaven quiz, failing it, and then finding out the right answer and getting saved. We’re excited about leading lots of people to Christ through the website, much less the radio program, and, as soon as the hand of God. And we just thank God for all of you.
And by the way, we are listening, supported. We are doing the max. We can do. We don’t pay any salaries. Everything that we have comes in here goes right back out in the way of trying to get this program out to the world. If the Lord gave us more, we would be on more stations. We’d be out there as far as we could go. Right now, you know, we don’t have a giant staff here. A lot of people come here and they’re shocked.
They’ll see me behind the microphone with my Bible. They’ll see one or two persons answering the phones and then letting me know which line everybody’s on so I can pull up those calls and put them on the radio with me. And then of course we have the church staff in the office. But otherwise we’re just a handful of people. And we don’t pay any of them salaries for the radio. This is something that we all feel so important, that we put our energy right into it and we don’t take a salary to do it.
We want the Word of God to get out. We believe the time is such that it’s urgent. Jesus is coming back. I can’t imagine him waiting too much longer to snatch us out of here. And we need people like you who feel the same way and sense this urgency that Christ is coming. This world is going nuts. And what we see happening really is lining with what the Bible predicted would happen in the last days. And I think we need to do all we can do while we can do it before the Lord catches us out and then we look back and say, wow, I was planning to do something for the Lord.
I was thinking about getting involved. I was going to invest some more in the Lord’s work and find out it’s too late. The Bible says it’s a day when we won’t be able to work anymore because the opportunity for us to work is here and to get this gospel message out. We can be your voice, you can be the support which allows us to do it and we sure would hope that you would pray for us and if you could give a gift that would be great call in, you can give it by credit card over the phone and if you would like to mail it, you can call us for envelopes to be sent and we’ll be happy to send out an envelope with our address and you can mail your gift to Bible on.
You can also give on our online bookstore on the internet if you like to do that. It’s a secure site and you can do that. But God bless you. Thank you to Advanced. We love our audience and you all are the ones that partner with us and we feel like your family. And I hope you feel like you’re, you know, a part of us as you listen each day and we’ll be talking to you from Israel. We’re excited about that.
We’ll be bringing you reports every day as we travel. You can still communicate with us by calling in or by submitting a question on the internet, on our radio page. and we’ll try to answer those from Israel for you. And we would love to have you on this trip. Now, if you would like to go on the next trip, and we’re going to be playing another trip, call in, give us your information, so we can keep in touch with you as we develop those plans and set the date.
We want to get your input as to what time of year you’d like to go, where you’d like to go, in addition to Israel. And you’ll have some input and you’ll have some impact if you start right away letting us know, Letting us know, this is what I’d like to do. This is when I could go. This is the only time I hear I can go, whatever it is, and get your name in here with us, and we’ll try to make sure that you’re on the next trip for this.
That’d be great. We’re going to go to Lansing, Michigan. Now we have Brent, and Brent is ready. Welcome to Bibleline Brent. You’re on the air. Hey, thank you, Dr. Hank. It’s really, really great to hear your program. Couple things. I went to Israel a couple of years ago, did get the baptist baptized in the Jordan it was an awesome experience. Oh yeah. And Yeah, it was every time I wish I could go with you this time, but unfortunately I’m stuck in Michigan freezing up here.
I Am an Orlando native My family’s up here so yeah, so I’m I’m really suffering this year, but we do things for love right? Just a quick question I kind of grew up well Southern Baptist, not always believed in the pre-feels, right? And it just, you know, that’s my point of view. But I get around some folks and I feel like they’re blessed old steelers or, you know, You know, like wife beaders, they want us to go through that horrible time of punishment.
And are they twisting scriptures to make that fit? Well, what is really happening is that they don’t understand how the scriptures lay out and that the church is the bride of Christ. And the church is a separate age called the dispensation of grace that has been slipped in to God’s program for Israel. That God’s program for Israel is on hold and as soon as the church ages completed and the rapture takes us out, then God will go back to finishing up with Israel.
We just talked about that a moment ago with the last seven years of Daniel’s 70 weeks of years, kicking off the clock as soon as we leave that last seven years of TikTok, which is the tribulation period. And then Christ will return instead of his kingdom and Israel will become the head nation on the earth. But many of these churches that believe that, believe that God has done with Israel and the church has replaced Israel and some of this the Al-Zhi is just really totally wrong and off the wall.
But I like 1 Thessalonians 110. It says that they are where to wait for his son from heaven which is delivered us from the wrath to come. So if the tribulation were to be first, then wouldn’t it say we’re to wait for the Blessed tribulation. I mean the awful tribulation but instead we’re the way for Christ’s return. So I mean the next to Bill and God’s program is very clearly Christ coming for us and then the tribulation and he says there he’s delivered us from that so obviously they’ve got it backwards.
Well and they twist it you know where they say Christ can’t come back until you know the anti-Christ is revealed. Well that’s back once. I do too. And of course, but the mixing things up because the rapture and the second coming are two different events and the second coming cannot happen until after the rapture, rather after the tribulation period is over, but the rapture triggers off the tribulation period and the antichrist will be real right after the rapture, but then the second coming will occur when the crisis will actually defeat and destroy the antichrist.
Right. You’re just a… There’s so many… Like I said, blood. Like I said, what? Yeah, I know what you’re talking about. And all we can do is just keep pointing the back of the Scriptures and say, look, it can’t be that way because why would Christ drag his bride, the bride of Christ, the church, through the tribulation? I mean, Jesus would be that. Amen. And doesn’t the word that actually keeps this, you know, from? Absolutely, in Revelation 3.10. that we’re kept from our trial that will be over the whole earth, we’re going to be delivered from that term.
Revelation 3 10 is very good. Alright, we’re right on target. So thank you. And I’ll go on with you. Maybe the next time. That’d be great, Brad, if you could give you another trip. Well, you take care and try to stay warm. I will, and you could get here. Have a great trip. Alright, thanks so much. Rent up there freezing in Lansing, Michigan, the capital of Michigan. And we’re glad to be on the air every day up there. Also in Flint and Saginaw, Michigan on broadcast.
We now have Linda. And she’s in… and even Florida. Linda, welcome to Bibleline you on the end. Hi, good morning. How are you? Good. This is part of your program. Thank you so much. Yesterday, I listened to the Christian program as much as I can during the day, 5.70 AM. And I was listening to drive time. And I was talking about the price of the dollar in OPEC. And then I went on to say about the gambling that is going on in the seminal gambling is now setting up in different, what are the slot machines, into inconspicuous little places in strip malls, next to bingo places.
Is there anything as Christian as concerned citizens and just how this is all part of the bigger picture for abuse and setting up? Is there anything that we can do to make us stand and take us stand? Well, you know, Christians have been standing up and fighting for a long time, and the evil is just overcoming us. And the Bible says then the last days there would be evil days, and how evil men would grow worse and worse. Read 2 Timothy chapter 3, and it lists about two dozen things that we see in the headlines every day to day, and the Bible says that’s the way it’s going to be.
It says evil men, verse 13, will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. And my goodness, the politics of getting this gambling in is all a big deception. They just kind of, they can’t inst their way in. And look at how they stuck in through the Indian reservations and a different set of rules than the state government has. And now even our governor seemingly being behind all this. It’s just inching their way in. pretty soon, when we Christians are raptured out, it’s going to really be bad.
And I’m glad I’m leaving before it really, really gets bad after the rapture. Amen. Okay, so that part of the government, that’s part of society that we’re going to be able to do. It’s frustrating, you know, and I hate, there’s so many things I love about this country that I see going down the tube and it just breaks my heart. But the wonderful thing for us as a Christian is we know we’re citizens of heaven and this This world is not our home.
We’re passing through and we need to do the best job we can while we’re here to speak up and take our stand. But we’re leaving. We’re out of here. Our home is in heaven. That’s where we’re going to live forever. And in the meantime, we ought to do as much, at least in a negative way, say, damage, but I mean, good damage for Christ by wrecking the plans of those that are evil, by trying to say, this is wrong.
And we ought not to do it. Which leads me to the next question. The ministers in the churches are preaching a false doctrine if they don’t preach basic fundamentals of Paul’s gospel. Anything aside from that would be for gospel. Absolutely right. And you know, all the apostles taught the same gospel. And Paul says in Galatians 1 8, though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel and that was for preaching to you, letting be a curse. And that’s obviously, it becomes of a cursed message and it says letting be a curse of God.
So as long-time standing members of a church where this minister has been invited in to be the now acting preacher, if he was preaching a false gospel, is it the duty of the members to get together and challenge him on his belief? and perhaps excommunicate him well it’s either that or you have to leave you know i mean i will see i can sit under the bad message but if his message is wrong and either have to say that he needs to go or if the church recognizes that it’s false or uh…
that’s true sometimes they they uh… will bring a minister in they don’t really find out what he believes in the laughter is there and then that really becomes a problem and and uh… really if the church has established doctrines and he’s preaching contrary to them that he ought to go but otherwise you might have to look for the church so we have to be as wise as and as putting it as the bible says ask the wisdom and vote for it to us and be alert to the state and so these because uh…
he likes to bring it in through the pulpit if he can and uh… and they’re unsafe ministers who go into ministry and they’ve passed their churches and they don’t even know what and that’s Scary. Scary. Well, Linda, thank you for calling. I sure appreciate that calling. I hope you have a wonderful day and we’ll move on now to Harold in Sarasota, Florida. And Harold, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the end. Hey, Dr. Hank, how are you doing? Good. Great.
You know what’s up? In the gospel of Jesus with P.T. that it’s easier for a camel to get through the eye of the meal before rich things are heavy. Now, do you believe that Jesus was talking about, you know, like, for instance, if the maintenance does not have God, it yet is rich. It’s hard for him to find salvation or find the Lord. Is there, I guess, if someone able to have riches after they find Jesus, he’ll still be prosperous and still will find heaven.
Well, absolutely. What happens though, in the case of a person who has riches, that they feel like they don’t have any need. They feel like everything is okay and that they don’t need God or they don’t need man. They are independent. Money seems to give them a sense of independence of even God and that’s the danger. But absolutely rich men can come to know the Lord and it talks in the Bible about rich men that don’t let that make them behind minded and think that they are above other people or better than other people because they have more money because They’re all sinners saved by grace and that they ought to use their riches wisely.
But no, it doesn’t affect what you’re saving on. But usually people in that realm don’t see their need of God. Okay. I say that Jesus is like, what do I have to do? And Jesus is like, you know, drop everything that you’re doing. All you’re rich to the way of following me. Do you think that is a picture of Moses when Moses had the rich of Jesus left it all behind to follow God and be a servant of God.
Well, obviously Moses gave up what he could have had in the way of earthly riches because he wanted the riches he’d have in heaven. Hebrews 11 tells us that he esteemed the reproach of Christ greater riches and the treasures that were available to him in Egypt. So he had the bigger picture. But the rich man there was told two things. There Christ said, I think it’s in about verse 22 or so, he says, come and that’s how you become saved, you simply come to Christ and then he said to follow me which means that was where he told him about how he’d have treasured heaven if he sold everything and followed Christ as a disciple.
But the two things going on there are salvation which is free, you simply come to Christ and then following Christ which means that you forsake everything else to really live your life for him and that will bring about great reward in heaven. why do you think thousands of victims of that? I mean, you got up, what would you talk about, but uh, how do you get ridges? He was a victim of marrying too many wives, and they all corrupted him, so he had 700 wives.
Can you imagine? I just can’t even imagine. But anyway, Solomon got sidetracked by his wives, and they were from foreign countries and introduced their foreign gods and God got real angry because he departed from the Lord and that was the bad part. Thank you so much for calling in held and that was Harold and Sarasota. We’re now going to go to James and Sanford for it and James welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. How are you doing? Good.
Can you please tell me straight to the people, the factor of what you call it? If a pastor or anybody was baptizing you was to say, I’m from I’m talking about baptizing your water, what’s the thing? I baptize your name with Jesus and then they baptize you. That still not being baptized in the Holy Spirit. Oh, of course, water baptism is not the same thing. The one that saves occurs at the moment of belief. It says in 1 Corinthians 12, 13, by one spirit are we all?
A-L-L baptized into one body. So the Holy Spirit takes you as a believer at the moment of belief and places you into the body of Christ. That’s the baptism of the Holy Spirit and that’s the one that saves. Water baptism is simply ceremonial and is a picture of the cleansing that occurs when you trust Christ. For cleanses by the blood of Christ, the hymn writer got it right when he said, what can wash away my sin? And he didn’t say water.
He said nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood. And that’s the only way we can say it. So when you trust Christ, your baptized with the Holy Spirit. Water baptism follows as a testimony. So it doesn’t matter what they say whether they say I baptize you and name a father or a spirit no matter what they say it doesn’t matter if they’re using water at the means of. That’s right. That’s the matter. So when you baptized, what do you say?
I say in the name of the father of the son, the Holy Spirit. Hi, I’m Hank Lindstrom. Alright, appreciate it. We have a good one. Thank you, James, in Sanford, Florida, that was James and it…water doesn’t save. We’re into call, in Tampa, Florida, call. Welcome to Bibleignor on the air. Yeah, I’ll hang up and I’ll lift the answer. And the Bible talks about how to go about taking a picture in the past. I Call your home too quick because I missed that last part.
Your phone broke up as you were hanging up. I didn’t hear that in part of the question. My further thinking is here too. We didn’t hear it. Call you have to call back. I just missed that last sentence. Anyway, we are going to go to Israel. We’ll be in Israel next week. We’ll be broadcasting from over there. So listen in. We won’t begin the first program you’ll hear from Israel will be on Wednesday because we have to get over there and get settled in.
But we hope that you’ll be listening. and we’ll try to keep you updated. You can still send questions in or call them in, and we’ll try to answer those questions. From Israel, we’ll be broadcasting from Israel, which ought to be a lot of fun. We did that in March of this past year, and we’ll be doing that again. If you want to go on the next trip, I would call in and leave your name so we can begin again a dialogue with you, and tell us when you want to go, where you want to go, what your interests are, because you can influence this before we set it in concrete, but we haven’t set the date, we haven’t set where we’re going to go, except we are going to Israel.
But we’d love to have you on the trip, and I’ll have a lot of people that say, hey, I want to go. Well, let’s go. And please call in and leave your name and information. We’ll be contacting you and staying in touch with you as we plan out the trip. All right, we’ll call his back. Let’s go ahead and find out what he said. You just hung up a little bit too soon for us, Carl. And so we’re going to go to Carl and find out what the question was.
Go ahead, do it again. I’m sorry about that. My phone cut off on me. But it was breaking up and we just lost the last words. OK. My question is, and about what we’re talking about, how they pick an elder or a deacon, you know, someone in the church used it, he said, the husband of one wife. Now, what does that mean exactly? Because I think I was told that back then there were men that married to more than one, and little was polygamy.
And so is it talking about the husband at one wife, or does it mean the person cannot have beenPhotoist? Have he been a servant? I mean, before he was saved, he was married, he divorced, and then he got saved. is he no longer than able to serve my captain in that capacity one. I believe it means one wife period. And I think the reason why is because it’s a role model for the people in the church. If the people in the church say, well, the pastor’s been divorced, and I guess it’s OK for him, then it’s OK for me.
And I think God didn’t want that. So men who are divorced can serve, and we have them serving in many capacities in our church. we don’t let them be elders or deacons uh… in the past right on the issue to be divorced so uh… some people say well he’s only made one right now what what they’re trying to say is one of the times that you get it divorced and you get remarried you get divorced you know but so i don’t want to have a lot of things that’s what it’s saying either i think it’s saying one-wife period so uh…
that doesn’t disqualify you from being used of god certainly uh… many divorce people can be used in a great way to minister to other things of God. But it’s I think as far as the L.R.D. condition that that’s it. Thank you so much for that call. I hope it helped and we are going to have to say goodbye for today in just a minute. Again, we are listeners supported. We would like to have you pray for us and if you could give to help bind one, stay on the air and be able to continue to do what we’re doing.
You can give a gift by credit card over the phone if you like. You can call right now and our printers are there available to take that call and you can tell them, I’d like to give a gift by one. You tell them how much and they’ll be able to facilitate that. If you want an envelope to be sent, they’ll send you an envelope and you can mail that gift in.
