Coming to you from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida declaring God’s love through radio and television, providing real answers to an ever-searching world. Got a question? Dial toll free at 1-800-576-3771. Now here’s the host of Bibleline Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Well good day. Good morning and welcome to Bible Eye. Great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you each and every day, Monday through Friday, and thank you for tuning in today.
We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor, and we invite you to come by. We’d love to get to meet you. Our headquarters are Bible Eye and are located here, and you can come by for our worship days, or you can come by and visit the Resource Center. During the week, we’ve already had people coming by, even this morning. We’re open to about 430 everyday Eastern Standard Time, and if you can’t get by because you live in a distance too far away, you can go to the internet.
BibleLineMinistries.org, BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the online bookstore and you’ll be visiting our resource center where we have lots of things that will help you grow and learn God’s Word. Help you to evangelize and be able to win your friends and family to Christ. We have a CD that we recommend highly called How Permanent is Your Salvation. We have found from people telling us that if a person listens to that, the chances of them trusting Christ are extremely high. It has been a powerful soul-winning tool.
If you have somebody that you’re really concerned about, you might want to order some of these to evangelize with, but give that particular person that you’re concerned about this CD, how permanent is your salvation and a good chance that they’ll trust the Lord. The Lord is really blessed, this particular CD, this message, and I think you’ll enjoy it. By the way, we’re planning to go to Israel again. I just returned. We were there just a couple of weeks ago, and we had a wonderful trip, great food, great great hotels, great everything and it was so peaceful.
I would love to have you go with me. Lots of people are asking if you want to get on that list and let us keep you abreast of our plans call us at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we’ll be glad to keep you abreast. If you could let us know when would be the best time for you to go. with other countries you like to visit. We’re talking about possibly Egypt, possibly Petra in Jordan. We’re talking about maybe possibly Greece and if you would get ahold of me that would be wonderful and we’d love to have you on board.
It’s gonna be great and we would love to have you going with us. We just finished teaching 1 Peter that 10 hours of teaching, verse by verse, on the book of First Peter is available on CD and DVD. You can call a note of that. And beginning April 1st, by Tuesday night, we’re going to begin second Peter. And there are five Tuesdays in April. And we’re going to do two hours for Tuesday night for five weeks. We’ll cover the book of second Peter in the month of April.
We’d love to have you be in the classroom if you can. If you live in the area where you can drive, It will be Tuesday nights from 7 till 9 and will do 10 hours of teaching, 2 hours for Tuesday beginning April 1st. So mark that down your calendar and plan to join this for 2nd Peter and that will complete the Peter series. 1st and 2nd Peter will be then done and available. Also we have a number of wonderful books in our Resource Center that we recommend in particular the Schofield Reference Bible.
It is so good. The notes are so wonderful. The chain is accurate. I’ll tell you some of these chain references lead you all over the place and really lead you into confusion. One of those is the Thompson chain. I don’t like its chain. It really is not reliable at all. And usually the Thompson chain just misleads you. The chain in the Scofield Bible is amazingly accurate. that’s powerful information. Good to doctrine, it has all that you need. Let me encourage you to get that old Scofield.
If you go to your bookstore, they’re probably going to say the wrong one. You want to get the 1909 or 1917 edition. That’s what we have here available and we have it available in a softback, hardback, leather, large print, regular print, all kinds of Scofields, but it is really a wonderful study tool. We’re gonna get into the Bible then we’re gonna be talking about Or answering your questions and we invite you to call us at 1-800-576-3771 This is the week that Christ was crucified and We believe he was crucified on Wednesday of the crucifixion week We believe he was placed in the grave at sundown and Since Jesus said in Matthew 1240 he would be in the grave three days and three nights 72 hours We believe he rose at sundown and Saturday at sundown, the Sabbath ends and the first day the week begins.
You see the Jewish day counts or starts with the night period first and that happens Saturday at sundown. That’s when Sunday night begins, Sunday morning occurs 12 hours later and of course that’s when they discovered the empty tomb. We’re going to have a sundown service. If you are in driving this, we invite you to come Saturday at 6 o’clock for our Sundown service. I think you will enjoy that. We will be celebrating the resurrection of Christ when we believe it occurred at Sundown.
Then of course, Sunday we will have the celebration of the discovery of empty tomb and talk about the appearances of Christ. Jesus is alive. Well, did you know Easter is really the name of the mother of Baal. I recommend we get rid of that e-word and let’s talk all week about the R-word resurrection. Should Christian choose the e-word? Well, what does the term Easter mean? In the Old Testament times the Bible talked about astroeth and Baal worship. For example, in 1 Kings 11, 5, 2, 6 it says for Solomon went after astroeth, Easter in English.
The goddess of the Zidodians in after Milcom the abomination of the Amorites and Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord and went not fully after the Lord as did David his father. Ashturoth is the mother of Baal. The short term is Ash-tar. Drop those last three letters and you have Ash-tar or Ishtar and the English form is Easter is nothing other than the mother of Baal and the celebration or worship of Astrat is forbidden in the Old Testament Scriptures.
Look at the Scriptures, Judges chapter 2 verses 13 through 14. It says, and they forsook the Lord and served Baal and Astrat. That’s Easter, the mother of Baal. When the anger of the Lord was hot, the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. Well Easter is after-off and Easter is an evil woman and the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. Do you think that God has mellowed out over the past couple of thousand years in it?
He doesn’t deal the same way today? I don’t think that’s possible. In 83-16 Constantine was in charge of the known world and in 83-21 he declared Christianity to be the only religion in the world. The pagan religions, by the way, did not go away. They simply gave their practices new names. So Astroth and Bail became Mary and Jesus. Did you know that? Many today know Mary as the queen of heaven. This pagan title belonged to Astroth in your Old Testament.
Astroth and Bail were adored and worshipped, and many today adored and worshipped Mary. And Jesus reads Jeremiah 44 where it talks about the Queen of Heaven, Astroth, and how the people worshipped her and adored her. And wow, we still have the same system around today. But now, if you are not careful, the counterfeit is marrying Jesus every place to ask for off a bail. We have to ask ourselves, who is the real Mary? Who is the real Jesus? Unless we examine what we believe in the light of the Scriptures, we might well be deceived.
According to the Scriptures, only God is to be adored and worshiped. Read Exodus 20. out, be careful, you don’t worship someone and make God angry. As Christians, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. We should be using the R word instead of the E word as the R word represents resurrection. Certainly, we do not celebrate Easter, the name which is the mother of Baal, but we do celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Easter doesn’t even occur in the Bible, except in one place, Acts 12, 4, and it’s a mistranslation.
Have you ever wondered about the woman of Revelation, chapter 17? She represents a religious, worldwide system that has beginnings in ancient Babylon, and will have its final headquarters in Rome during the tribulation period, and God is a judge that religious system and destroy it after the rapture during the tribulation period because it is this counterfeit system. H.A. Ironside, a former pastor of the Moody Memorial Church in Chicago in this commentary on the book of Revelation written back in 1920 gives us these following insights.
Let me quote, the wife of Nimrod. read about him in Genesis chapter 10, was the infamous Semoramas and she was supposedly the founder of the Babylonian Mysteries in the High Priestness of Adology and we find that Babylon became the fountainhead of this mystery religious system that was originated there and spread it in various forms throughout the whole earth and it’s with us today. was the celebration of the worship of a mother and her son. Building on the primeval promise of the woman’s seed, Jesus, which was to come, which would be the Savior, Simoramis for a son whom she declared was miraculously conceived.
When she presented him to the people he was hailed as the promised deliverer, this was Tamuz, T-A-M-M-U-Z, whose worship Ezekiel protested against in the days of the captivity. This was introduced as the mystery of the mother and the child, a form of idolatry that’s older than any other known to man. The rights of this worship were secret. All the initiates were prevented to know its mysteries. It was Satan’s effort to delude mankind with an imitation of the truth of God so that they would not come to know the true seat of the woman, which is the Lord Jesus Christ, when he would come in the fullness of time.
We find this religious system spread throughout the world, and wherever it went, the names changed, but the system remained the same. In Egypt it was Ices and Horus. In Italy it was Venus and Cupid. In Greece it was Aphrodite and Urus. In Israel and in the Middle East it was Astroth and Bail. You know Astroth. The short form is Aestar and it is obviously the counterfeit that Satan came up with. Let me just read an interesting passage back in the Old Testament for you for just a moment.
Back in the book of Judges we find that Joshua who had followed Moses died. It says here, and Joshua, the son of none, Judges chapter 2 verse 8, the servant of the Lord died, being 110 years old. And they buried him in the border of his inheritance. And so Joshua dies, he’s buried. Then it says here, there rose up another generation after that which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which they had done what God had done for Israel.
And the children of Israel, verse 11 of chapter 2 of Judges, did evil in the sight of the Lord and served Baal. And they forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers, which brought them upon the land of You can follow the gods of the people that were wrong about them and bow themselves under them and provoke the Lord to anger verse 11 says verse 13 says rather and they forsook the Lord and they serve Baal and Astroth astrath is the mother of Baal And notice verse 14 of judges to and the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel Again, I don’t think God has mellowed out.
I think He has just as much anger today about the system which is the counterfeit of Christianity. The important thing is that you know Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you are trusting in anything or any one other than Jesus Christ, God who took on flesh, the sinless Lamb of God that went to the cross of Calvary and paid your sin debt in full, is buried and rose again for the dead unless you trust him. My friend, you will not be safe.
A lot of people, I think, in ignorance use that word Easter. But let’s get rid of it. This Sunday we’re going to call it Resurrection Sunday. When we give out children to the candy, it’s going to be called Resurrection Candy. The special music will be called Resurrection Music. The special outfits that little girls and moms will wear. We’re going to call those Resurrection dresses. This is about the resurrection. What a powerful word that is. When you greet people, would you tell them, Happy Resurrection!
If you say Happy Easter, you’re really promoting the celebration of Bail’s mother! Obviously, you don’t want to do that. By the way, Bail’s mother, Astroth, or Easter, as her name is known today, was a sex goddess. That’s why you have the bunny rabbits. That’s why you have the Easter eggs. It speaks of sex and fertility. This has nothing to do with Christianity. I don’t have a problem if you want to have eggs for the children and decorate them. But let’s call them resurrection eggs.
At least talk about Jesus and not talk about this woman, the mother of Baal, which we really ought to get and just not even pronounce that word anymore. I hate to use it, but I use it in teaching. In any case, this is a a great week, it’s a week about the death barrel and resurrection of Christ. That’s what the Gospel is. The message of the death, the barrel and resurrection of Christ. It is the message that according to Romans 1, 16 is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes it.
Let me quote that verse. Romans 1, 16, Paul says, for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for if the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe it. When you trust Christ as the one who died, shed his blood paid for your sins by his death at the cross of Calvary with buried and rose again from the dead. God saves you. My friend, I hope you’ve done that. I’m Dr. Englund from the Divine Blood, and we’re going to go to the phone lines, and we’d would love to hear from you.
The number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call and we’ll try to answer your question. We just had a call or a minute ago called in Fred from Tampa and he asked about Luke chapter 17 and Matthew 24 about one will be taken, the other will be left. He wanted to know what that was talking about. Well, Guess what? It’s not talking about the Rapture. It’s talking about the Second Coming of Christ, where it’s the opposite of the Rapture, where the one taken is taken in judgment and killed, and the one left is left behind to live into the Millennium.
Let me just share that with you for Matthew 24, and there you have a couple of verses that people oftentimes will talk and say that this is representing the Rapture. It says in verse 40 of Matthew 24, there shall be two in the field, the one shall be taken, the other left. Verse 41 says, two in which shall be grinding at the mill, the one will be taken, the other left. If you read the context, this is talking about at the end of the tribulation.
Verse 29 says, immediately after the tribulation of those days. So we know it’s taking place at the end of the tribulation. It cannot be the rapture. If you read verse 37 through verse 39, it tells us about the days of Noah. It says, as the days of Noah were, social are coming in the Son of Man B. It tells us what was taking place in those days that they were eating and drinking and giving in marriage right up until the day they entered into the ark.
But verse 39 says, And knew not until the flood came and took them all away. Social also becoming the Son of Anbe. I’ve taken that phrase, took them, because what did the flood do? It took the unbelievers away as they were drowned and died in the flood. Well, if you read the very next verse, it says, there will be two in the field of one will be taken. I have circled the word taken and drawn the line back to the word took in verse 39, and they are taken in the same way the flood took the unbelievers in the days of Noah.
The unbelievers are taken in judgment and are killed, are slain, and the ones that are left are left to live into the thousand-year reign of Christ. This is after the Tribulation. It’s not the same as the Rapture, at the Rapture, which is the next event on God’s program that really is the event that triggers the beginning of the Tribulation period. The believers are taken up and meet the Lord in the air, and the unbelievers are left behind for the seven years of tribulation.
But at the end of the tribulation Christ comes back and destroys all unbelievers just as the flood destroyed the unbelievers in the days of Noah and the ones that are left to live into the millennium. We have a caller here from Orlando or rather from Orange City, his name is Orlando. Orlando, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello God bless. Thank you. I don’t know if you would have a comment on this question. Last week I heard a study on the memory of the people that died, the Christians that died and the unbelievers and the teacher was saying that in heaven you’ll have memories of the life you have in this planet because he referenced as for the unbeliever in Luke.
I believe 16 Richmond Lazarus and that the Lazarus had memories of his life on this planet and also for the believer he went to a revelation when it talks about the slain martyrs asked Jesus when will their blood be avenged. So that’s why he used… Why you use? Well, you know, obviously we will definitely have memory. We’ll know loved ones that we’ve known before and be reunited with them. I believe though that there’s portions of our memory that will be erased so that it will not have sorrow in heaven.
It’s not until after the judgment at the end of the millennium when the unsavour cast in the hell that we read then about a new heavens and a new earth and God coming over and wiping away all tears from our eyes. I believe there will be sorrow in heaven and there will be tears in heaven shed right up until that point. And then it talks about some of the former things will not be remembered. I think God will erase from our memory the sorrow that we would continue to have if we would remember our loved ones that were in hell now forever.
I think he wipes that away. But otherwise, yes, I believe absolutely we’ll have memory and we’ll remember the good things and we’ll remember loved ones and relatives and friends and family and we’ll get to be with them and enjoy them forever and ever and ever. I hope that helps and thank you for that call. We have Sam in Lakeland, Florida and Sam, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. I want to ask you a question. I have a question to the sponsor of God with Sam.
I’m yesterday about black people and I was understand I want to ask you this question that he said he was talking about when Newell crushed his son and the cold and the be black and that character went to Africa. He doesn’t say that. We do know that the sentence of him went to Africa, but it doesn’t say that he made him black. I know that’s when the guy was saying in that category, but I was saying that when Jesus came, he came to all the sins that all the sins that there were the calls that Jesus come to see those sins.
And when Mary was, when Jesus was going through Mary, the flesh, so the flesh, so you’re just tell them a few minutes ago about hold on one second i just want to say goodbye to miami miami we’re glad we’re on the air down in south florida and if you’re enjoying the program i hope you’ll pray for us and and we need your financial support to help us continue to be on the air and hopefully get that second half hour be a full hour on the air in miami god bless you all or we’re back down a salmon sam i i wanted to say goodbye to our mind the audience it was like early If you said a few minutes ago that if the thing that would make you feel sad would be in heaven, you said God, block it all out.
If that case, when John saw the Black people, I mean, saw all the race of peoples in heaven, and if the curse was called people being black, then when they didn’t have them look at each other, they would think about, they would, they would read and they were black because they were being cursed. So that couldn’t be the reason, but then I want to ask you this question. if they were made from the earth of the of the ground and you’ve got all color the ground i know you got top saw which is this black and you got sand which is white you got red clean you got bird yellow cake so all those colors of sand is the color people so would that be the code to call the people the color they are going to come they came from her it’s a good guess but i i don’t think so i i think obviously uh…
you know the uh… The common theory is if you look in the encyclopedia, you’ll say it has to do with the S-U-N and those that live in the more northern areas of the world are light-air-conflected. Those that are more in the equatorial regions are darker skinned. But I don’t have the answer. And as I said just that it may be that it’s the Tower of Babel that God changes the skin colors. Sam, thank you for that so much for that question.

We’re coming to you live in Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. We hope that you’ll come by and see us.
This is a Resurrection Week. We believe Christ was crucified on Wednesday. Obviously, you can’t get three days and three nights between Friday and Sunday, so we believe that He was crucified on Wednesday. We’re going to have in our Wednesday evening service. We’ll be talking about that. Saturday, we’re going to have a sundown service, who blew Christ was risen from the dead at sundown. Think about it now. Christ was placed in the grave at sundown. He says in Matthew 1240, he’d be three days at three nights at 72 hours in the grave.
So that would mean his resurrection would be sundown 72 hours later. By the way is the end of the Sabbath at 6 p.m. and the beginning of Sunday. The night comes first, remember, the Jews count from Sunday on the Sunday. Their night period always is first. If you go to a synagogue on Friday night it’s full because the Sabbath has begun at Friday Sunday and that’s really Saturday night, the Sabbath. And then Saturday follows. And so with Christ He rose, we believe, at Sunday on Saturday when the first day of the week began Sunday night and then the next morning he was gone already but they discovered an empty tomb as they couldn’t find him and then he appears numerous times.
Well guess what? I believe that that’s the way it occurred and if you keep Christ in the grave till Sunday morning which many people do, you’re violating scripture because that means he was in the grave three days and four nights counted out for yourself. If he goes in the grave at sundown He stays in the grave till Sunday morning. That’s four night periods, three day periods. That’s not what Christ said. Christ said in Matthew 12, 43 days and three nights.
Anyway, we’re going to have a sundown service. We’d love to have you. It’s going to be a great evening and singing and fun and children and we’ll be rejoicing over the resurrection of Christ at the time when we believe it actually occurred. Would you come if you’re in driving distance? I hope you will. Sunday morning will be celebrating the resurrection of Christ and the discovery of that resurrection and You can watch that one on the internet if you don’t live within driving distance Just click on the camera on our home page Bibleline Ministries that are g click on the camera And you’ll be connected to the worship service if you do that about 11 o’clock But all of our services are there for the past year you can catch our Palm Sunday service and the message I brought and you’ll be able to catch coming
Sunday Resurrection Sunday live and also on the Internet. We were told that one of our church members sons lives in Cincinnati and they were kind of snowed in this past Sunday and so or Sunday before last and apparently a lot of folks were calling him asking him where to go on the Internet to catch our service because they couldn’t drive anywhere to go to church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It’s exciting what’s happening and God is obviously using Bible and in a mighty way.
So you’re welcome to come out to our Wednesday night crucifixion service, our Saturday night 6 p.m. resurrection service, and Sunday of course celebrating the discovery of the in our morning worship at 1030 and again at 6 o’clock Sunday evening. You’re welcome to come and of course join us on the Internet and catch all that you possible can. We’re going to go now to the phone lines. We have Larry in Mason, Michigan, and Larry, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air.
on the air. Amen, about does not yet know how we shall appear, but when he comes we shall be as he is. Does that pertain to the resurrection body? Absolutely it does. We’re going to be like Christ, one of a body, I believe, about 33 years of age and appearance as Christ was crucified at age 33 and came back from the dead in that same body. will be youthful if we’re older, if we’re children, when a person dies if their child will be seen as a mature adult, and apparently everything about Christ’s body will have those similarities to His resurrection body.
Thank you. Okay Larry, thank you very much for calling in today. We appreciate that call. We now have a call from Richmond, Virginia and we have Tony. Tony, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey Dr. Lindstrom. Good morning. I’m here. You’re actually trying to find out that they were generally saved for pretty much all their lives. That’s talking about serving. Well obviously he’s telling her not to go out and commit adultery again. She was caught in the act of adultery.
Of course that was a capital offense. It was punishable by death and So he is telling you not to go out and commit that sin again. Obviously, there is nobody who can live sinless. If you think you can, well, you are deceiving yourself. 1 John 1 8, the Apostle John, some 60 years after he was saved, says in 1 John 1 8, if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
So anybody who claims that they do not sin, a Joyce Meyer claims he hasn’t sinned for ten years, I’m afraid she’s wrong. First John 1-8 says, if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. And notice John includes himself in that we. And then he tells us about what to do about that sin as a believer. If we confess our sins, or name by name to the Lord those things which are sin, he is faithful and just to forgive us sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
John, in first John, is writing about life within the family of God. Would you become born again in God’s child, and God will not send you to hell as a result of your sin after you become saved? But he will discipline you and spank you. The word in the Bible is used is chastened. And if you would judge yourself, according to 1 Corinthians 11, then God wouldn’t have to do that. And so it tells us that we had to judge ourselves and confess those things to the Lord and claim his promise of forgiveness and cleansing.
So once you get saved, you’re saved forever. You cannot be lost. But truly we still have a sin nature. In John 8, the woman taught in adultery. He tells her, go and sin no more. clearly talking about that particular sin, not that she would now live without sin at all, which is impossible. Some sins are sins of thought, some are of word or deed, and some are neglect. James says in James 4 17, to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
You know you ought to read your Bible and you don’t, Tony, you’re sinning. If you know you ought to attend a good Christian fellowship at church and you don’t, you’re sinning. And on and on and on it goes. And so many sins are not carrying out the responsibility we have as a believer to live for Christ. But nobody can live sin free. Thank you so much for your call. We appreciate your call. We now have Armando and Armando is in St.
Petersburg, Armando, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. You’re on the air Armando? Good morning Dr. Lindstrom. Good morning. I want to… I want to ask you about the Wednesday, I mean Wednesday crucifixion. If that happened on Wednesday, why the woman had to wait until Sunday to go and on Jesus’s body when they could have done it Friday? well they couldn’t because there were three samas that week there was There was the Passover Sabbath on Thursday, the 11th Bread Sabbath on Friday, the regular Saturday Sabbath on Saturday and then at the end of the Sabbath then they could.
Let me just read something to you in Matthew 28 verse 1 and here at the Scofield again is so helpful. It says in the end of the Sabbath it should literally read and Scofield points it out literally end of the Sabbath’s plural or as Scofield suggested might be translated the Sabbath’s plural end and And then the first day of the week comes and then the women came at the end of those three Sabbath days. So there was the Passover Sabbath, the Unleavened Bread Sabbath, and then the Saturday Sabbath.
And when those three Sabbaths had ended, they came early that… The man who had been in the morning of Sunday, and they came not looking for resurrection, but to actually anoint the dead body and finish the heard barrel from three days earlier. But they found the tomb empty and the angel told him why are you here? He’s not here. He’s risen just like he told you and they remembered those words. So the answer is there were several Sabbaths in a row.
And after the Saturday Sabbath, they were able to approach the tomb. Well, the thing is that, you know, I used to be a member of the World Wide Church of God, and we kept all the Sabbats, the Jewish holidays, and there’s no way in the Bible where you have to hide Sabbath falling back to back. Sometimes we have to celebrate two Sabbats in the world because the high Sabbath will fall on Friday, and then we have the weekly Sabbath.
but two high holidays never fall one back to back and that’s my question because there’s no evidence of that in the Bible. Well I… I would beg to differ. I think you need to read Matthew 28.1. And if you have a Scofield, it points it out very clearly. But it says the Sabbath’s in and then the first day the week comes. Or literally as Scofield points out in the margin, it should read in the end of the Sabbath. In the end of the Sabbath’s plural, as it began to dawn third the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the Sephiyr, and they found the two empty.
So there were obviously three Sabbaths in a row, and that’s very clear there. You see, the Jewish people go by the lunar moon, and so these Sabbaths jump around, and the feast days Sabbaths were Sabbaths even though they didn’t fall on sanity. Thank you for that call and we’re now going to Charles in Tampa, Florida Charles. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Yes, Dr. Hank, thank you because of this study. Hello? Alright, you’re listening, go ahead. Yes, I thank you very much because I’m always here.
This present because there is a lot of things I learned from it. But I have a question. My question is why the most successful world today is celebrated what we call good Friday. That’s it Jesus died from time. Why is the reason? Do they try to make the whole rule and coefficient? Or they do not know? Alright, the problem came somewhere back down through time where somebody read John 19. 31 you might want to write it down look it up later, but John 19 and I’ll read the verse to you where it says here that Jesus here was crucified on the preparation of It says in verse 31 of John 19, the Jews therefore because it was the preparation, the body should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day.
In their mind they said Sabbath, that’s Saturday, so he was crucified on the day before the Sabbath, that means Friday. But they didn’t read carefully because the next part of the verse says that Sabbath was a high day. So it was a high holy day of Passover which really was on Thursday of that week. So it wasn’t the Saturday Sabbath. was the Passover Sabbath which was on Thursday that week. So he was crucified on the preparation of that which was the day before which was Wednesday.
So somebody misread and obviously as a result a whole lot of people have followed that tradition and nobody wants to straighten it out and so they still talk about good Friday. What I find interesting here Charles is that people all over the world on good Friday by curiously suffer the sufferings of Christ some say, and they bleed. Some people call stigmata, they bleed in their hands and in their feet. They bleed somewhere on the forehead where the crown of thorns was and so on.
And whether they do or they don’t, that’s not the question here. But I always tell people they bleed on the wrong day. If this were really of the Lord, they would bleed on Wednesday. Obviously, the tradition has created more problems as people try to say that they experience something on the day that Christ has crucified, but they have the wrong day. Every year you’ll read about it this week. I’m sure. Watch the papers carefully and you’ll find people will talk about paintings that cry and paintings that bleed and people that bleed and they vicariously are suffering the suffering price but always like that point out they do it on the wrong day if this was really from God they would bleed on Wednesday I hope that helps Charles and thank you so much for your call.
We now are going to Leonard in Richmond, Virginia and Leonard welcome to Bibleline here on the air. Good morning Dr. Hank. I just have a question maybe you can clear some things. I’ve been hearing a local pastor preach about, um, Hey, what if you know about the burning hail fires and if you don’t get saved you and you burn in hail but he bought a scripture in 20 and a 14 and it said then death and Hades or hail will pass into the lake of fire.
the second death. So I wonder if you understand or know, you know, are these the same or is hail and the lake of fire different? Several things there. It says in Revelation 2014 death that refers to the body. Hades refers to where the lost will have been kept in the heart of the earth in this hollow place called Hades or in the Hebrew shield, S-H-E-O-L. And so the resurrection will occur there for the lost and they’ll get their resurrection bodies and so death and Hades referring to the body and the soul of the lost being reunited, they will be judged there at a judgment beginning in verse 11 of Revelation 20 through verse 13 and they’ll be assigned a degree of punishment and hell based upon their works or their deeds.
And then all of those that come up out of Hades and are given their new bodies, death and and Hades reverting to the body and the soul are then cast into the lake of fire. That is the final help. So the final help, the Greek word that is transmitted to hell that is the real hell, is Gehenna. And that’s not the same thing as Hades. So Hades is the holding place where the lost are kept and even Satan will be bound in Hades for the last thousand year reign of Christ.
But then he’ll be brought up loose for a little season cast into the Lake of Fire verse 10 of chapter 20. And then the lost of mankind will be brought up out of Hades. They’ll be judged given to new bodies and cast into the Lake of Fire. So the second death is to be cast into the final hell of the Lake of Fire. I hope that helps answer it for you and thank you for that call. We now have Jimmy and Jimmy’s calling in from Chesterville, Virginia.
Phil Virginia, Jimmy, welcome to Bible Eye. I just want to thank you Dr. Hank. I just like to ask you a question about prayer. If someone is sick, you know, and you pray for them, are you supposed to ask Lord if it’s just weird that they be healed or just ask the Lord to heal that person? And I’ll just hang up with you with them. All right, well I think every prayer I want to ought to be conditioned by, if it be, your will.
Because the Bible talks about how we can pray. And if we insist, God might give it to us even though it isn’t his will. That’s kind of scary, isn’t it? So you might go to pray for it and then you might have to pray that Lord take it away. Because obviously you want his will and you want what is best and what is in his plan. Let me give you an interesting passage in the Old Testament here that talks about that.
You know, they in the Old Testament prayed in the wilderness. They didn’t like the fact that they were given manna and they lusted after flesh. He wanted meat to eat. And it says here, when they came out of the Red Sea, they believed His words in saying His praise. And verse 13 of Psalm 106 says, they soon forgot His works. And they waited not for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tempted God in the desert. So, He says they lusted and they didn’t wait for His counsel.
15 says he gave them their request but sent leanness into their soul. What an interesting thing. He gave them their request. It was not his will but he gave them meat. You might remember the story. He sent in these quail and they blew in all day online and by the time it was all done the people were three foot deep in quail. You couldn’t lay down. You had to stand up. And there were three-foot-deep birds, every direction, around all of the Israelites.
And it says that they got some of the loathed quail that they had the stench in their nostrils, and it was a terrible mess. And so I don’t think they wanted quail anymore. So they got what they wanted, but it really didn’t turn out to be what they needed. So they prayed and they got their lust, but they didn’t get the… The gods sent leanness to their soul. So be careful what you pray for. You might get it and you may not want it after you get it.
So be careful. And so yes, pray for God’s will always no matter what you’re praying for because you might pray for something you desire and God might give it to you. But it might be a negative for you and God sends leanness to your soul and spiritually you’re going to regret the fact you did that. Good question. Thank you, Jimmy. In Chesterfield. Virginia for that call. We now have Henry in Richmond, Virginia. Henry, welcome to Bible in. Yes, good morning, Dr.
Hagg. A comment. Every year we go to when Jesus died and when he went to the school. You know, it doesn’t really matter when he rose along as he rose. I just want to say, God, for that day, that he’s here rose. So some said that he died and was spread off bad things low on the fact that but to me doctor at this i’m just so thankful that he wrote that’s all i want to say thank you amen well obviously to be saved i don’t think it really makes a lot of difference at all but technically you know god uh…
carried out uh… the death bill resurrection of christ uh… exactly is he had planned it you know the death of christ was planned before the foundation of the world and the Old Testament prophets told exactly when it would happen. The Christ would die as the Passover Lamb. He would die when Israel was offering up her lamb. We find that the Passover that week was on Thursday. If he was crucified on Friday, he would have violated the scripture because Passover was over.
He died as the Passover Lamb, so therefore he died to be crucified in advance. The Passover was the day that they would eat of that lamb and participate in the fruits of it. Christ died exactly when he should have. Also, God had predicted when he would rise three days later. Jesus makes it pretty plain there that it would be three days and three nights after he died that he would be risen again from the dead. Technically, it does make a difference because God is a God of order and everything is very precise.
But as far as your salvation, if you believe Christ died and was buried and rose again from the dead, you may not know much more, but that’s the message that saves you. So the answer is yes, you’re saved whether you understand exactly when or the details about it or not, but the Bible is pretty specific. So we can actually take a look at it. The point I make when I do that is the point that we need to all look at our Bible carefully and afresh.
I hear so many people present a plan of salvation which is not biblical. And yet so many preachers do it, you would think it is biblical. For example, I hear people all the time, so and so gave his life to Christ and therefore he is saved. Well, if he saved, he isn’t saved because he gave his life to Christ because we’re not saved by giving God anything. That changes the plan of salvation around in a 180 degree direction because God is the giver and we’re the receivers.
And if you say you have to give your life to Christ to be saved, then you have made yourself the giver and God is the receiver. The Bible says for God’s love the world, he gave his son. So God gave Christ to die for us and we receive it by trusting or believing in Christ’s Savior. So it’s real important when you get down to the actual planet’s salvation and people might give their life or their heart to Christ, but that doesn’t save them.
You have to trust that Christ gave His life and die on the cross of Calvary to pay for your sin or you will not be saved. Thank you, Henry, for that point and keep listing up there in Richmond, Virginia. I’m Dr. Ang Linschtren. This is my blend. a great day. Enjoyed being with you. Hope you’ve enjoyed the program.
