But you can catch this program again and again, you can catch it live right now and go back later in the afternoon and catch it as often as you like.
By the way, you can tell your friends in other countries and other parts of the states that they can catch the Bible and program on the internet. That’s right, we’re meeting more and more friends around the world that are listening to Bible and on the internet. So if you have missionaries or friends or family in other countries, please tell them about BibleLineMinistries.org and how they can be connected to the radio program by clicking on that spinning globe as you turn to my home page on the website.
And if they click on the camera, they’ll get the worship services. And if you click on the TV set, they’ll get the television programs. I hope you’ll take advantage of that. Guess what? We are going to begin the study of 2nd Peter and we invite you if you are in driving distance to come and be a student in the classroom. There is a charge of $50 which will help by the line and that will be about $5 for class hour.
It will be 10 hours of teaching over 5 weeks beginning tomorrow night. That is Tuesday, April 1st and I hope you will be in the classroom. 2nd Peter is an exciting book. This is one of the books that liberal theologians hate. Obviously Satan hates it. He doesn’t want you to know what is in Second Peter. So we’re going to have a great time talking about this wonderful book that is really hated by liberal scholarship. We are excited, of course, it is the Word of God and we believe every bit of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is inspired and errant and fallible and the original autographs or without error.
Obviously every translation has some defects, but the original autographs were absolutely perfect as given from the hand of God to us. We’re going to be studying 2nd Peter for 5 weeks beginning April 1st. That’s tomorrow, tomorrow night from 7 to 9. We hope you’ll come if you’re driving distance and sign up. Come a little bit early and sign up and you’ll be able to enjoy a wonderful series in 2nd Peter. We’ve already finished first Peter that’s available on CD and DVD and before that we did the Gospel of John that’s available on CD and DVD and About 40 different classes have been taught that are now available and you can call our 800 number and order them.
We’re planning to go to Israel again, and we are looking at a possibility of going to Israel but having an option that will leave earlier and go to Egypt and we’ll see the pyramids, we’ll see the Cairo Museum which is incredible, a hundred thousand artifacts, mummies, the treasures of King Tut, and so many things you’ll want to see and stay on a beautiful island in the middle of the Nile in downtown Cairo. Gorgeous hotels there, we’ll stay at a five-star deluxe hotel and we’ll then drive.
And nowadays you can go through the conduit underneath the Suez Canal. And we just drive right on through. It used to be. You’d have to drive on your bus that you were traveling on, right on top of a ferry, and then the ferry would motor its way across the Suez and you’d drive off a dealer end. But today we’ve got this wonderful conduit you just drive right underneath this. A writer that needs to sue Eskinow. And obviously we’ll drive in up to Ilot which is a beautiful resort city owned by Israel and the Red Sea.
There people come from all over the scuba dive and the waters clear. The Israelis have come up with a very unique, uh, a, uh, clarium type thing where you walk out of here about a half a mile and then you go down, uh, underwater in this glass enclosure and you are able to look out into the red sea and see the fish. In other words, the fish come up to the window and peer at us who are really in the fish tank.
It’s kind of fascinating the way these reds are clever. Why not just allow yourself to go down with glass windows and look out into the red sea. And I found when I was there before, at every level you see different kinds of fishes. And it’s a beautiful, beautiful experience. We’ll then drive over into Jordan. That’s really where Jordan, Egypt, and Israel all connect. And we’ll be able to see the Rock City of Petra. And then we’ll come back and spend a night again in a lot, which is a beautiful place to be.
And then we’ll drive up. And the rest of the people that are going that don’t want to take the option will have arrived from the States and will meet them and we’ll all be together for the rest of the trip. So how does that sound to you? I’d like to get your input because we don’t want to commit until we get your feeling on it, but that will split the trip up. If you want to take the option, you’ll go to Egypt and Jordan, and we’ll see the Rock City Petra.
And if you want to do Israel only, you can do that also. And we will have finished the option in Egypt and Jordan, and then we’ll all rendezvous as the people who don’t want to take that option will meet us and we’ll see all of Israel together. If you are interested in all, please give us your name and information and let us keep up with you and let you know about our developments as we make plans for the trip to go.
Just got a note here from a family that said their son is going to go on the next trip. We hope that we will come off smoothly and we will all get to go. If you have your Bible, let’s get it open. We are going to take a look at the Scriptures for a few minutes and we hope that you have your Bible there handy and we want to talk about a couple of things this morning. If you have your Bible open you can turn to Romans chapter 12 and this is a marvelous verse that has to do with the Christian life.
This is not a salvation verse and you have to rightly divide between salvation which is Tsarnaev in Christ and then the Christian life which is our response and how we show our gratitude and thankfulness and love to the Lord by serving Him. In Romans 12.1 it says, I beseech you therefore brethren. I plead with you is what it means. I plead with you and he’s talking here to believers. He calls them the brethren, those that are born again and have become the sons and daughters and God’s family, and we are all therefore brothers and sisters in the family of God.
I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God, and that expression means in view of the mercy that God has had upon you. If you read Romans 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, it talks about that wonderful mercy whereby we have been saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. 1 opens up with a grand verse, 1-16 where Paul says, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it the gospel is the power of God and the salvation to everyone that believeth.
When you believe the gospel message, when you trust the message of Christ’s death and burial and resurrection, the fact that he died and shed his blood and paid for your sin by his death and shed blood, God saves you when you trust in that wonderful message. And Romans 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 detail the wonderful details of this message. And it concludes in chapter 8 by saying, for I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor death or any other creature or creation shall be able to separate us or me from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, O Lord.
What a great eternal security verse. Once you become saved, nothing can ever separate you. Nothing can ever undo the salvation that God has given you. You are saved and saved forever. I am persuaded that neither death. No life, no angels or principalities or powers or things present or things to come. Nothing in your past, nothing that’s ever happened or will happen in your life can ever undo what you have to cross once you trust Christ Christ. You’re like it or not.
kicking and screaming or whatever. It’s amazing that people just don’t seem to get that. Jesus said in John 637, him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. He won’t cast you out for any reason or under any circumstance. There’s nothing you can do. I’ll never forget one lady telling me, but you don’t know what I have done. Why, if you knew what I did, you You agree with me that Christ would cast me out. And I said, let’s look at the verse again.
It says, him that come up to me, have you come to him and trusted him as your Savior? She said yes. It says, will I in no wise cast out? And there’s no exception clause here that says, except they do what you just said you did. And of course, I never did ask her what it was. I didn’t really want to know. It didn’t matter because there’s nothing you could do that would ever cause you to be be cast out.
That’s what Jesus said. Nothing you could ever do, nothing you would ever captured. do, whatever caused Christ to cast you out. There are some people that finally concede and say, okay, I got it. Christ won’t cast me out. But I can cast myself out. If I don’t want to turn it off anymore, I can turn it back in or I can turn my back on God and walk away. Guess what? You can’t even do that. That’s right. You can’t do that.
Sorry. Sorry to inform you. Of course, there’s good news that you can’t. But in John 639, Jesus said, this is the Father’s will. And of all which you have given me, I should lose none. None, not one. Christ will never lose one person who ever comes to him. My friend, once you become saved, you’ll never become lost. It’s impossible. Nowhere is the Bible talk about being born again, then becoming unborn, and then becoming born again again, and then When becoming unborn, there’s no provision for being unborn.
Once you become born physically, you can’t become unborn, and once you become born spiritually the new birth you can’t become unborn. You are born again once and for all and forever, and nothing can ever undo that. And Paul winds up in Romans 839 since I’m persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels The principalities, the powers, the things present, or things that come, or hyphen, or death, or any other creation shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
Chapters 9, 10, and 11 in Romans are parenthetical. They deal with God’s purpose for Israel during this present age and how God will continue that purpose for Israel. God is not done with Israel. They’re back. back in the land right now, right now, in anticipation of Christ’s return. I believe it’s going to be soon. And then it goes on to chapter 12, verse 1, which looks back to the end of chapter 8 and it says, I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God.
The word, therefore, you need to ask yourself what it’s there for. And what it’s saying here is based upon what God said in Romans 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, that nothing can ever undo the salvation that God has provided for you when you trust Christ as your Savior. In view of that mercy that God has had upon you, that you should present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable in the God which is your reasonable service. In other words, we ought to serve the Lord because of what God has done for us.
I am saved to serve, but I am not saved by serving. My service for God will not save me. I am already saved by what God did for me at the cross. But now that I am saved, I ought to serve. It says you areFIX part of Romans 12.1 which is your reasonableadminist. Which is your reasonable service., in other words, it is only reasonable.!. If Jesus gave it forOUP, you would live your life for him. It gets caved. But because you are.
And this is the wonderful opening to the latter part of the Book of Romans which talks about the God’s God’s God’s God. And how as believers we ought to live for Christ. And one day we’ll be held accountable as to what we have done with our life since we’ve been saved. And the result will be rewards, degrees of rewards, or loss of reward. In heaven for eternity. My friend as a believer, you need to get going. I’ve found a number of people that I’ve led the Christ as of late that are older are saying, I’m behind.
I need to get going. And they’re really serving the Lord with a fever because they really say I’ve wasted so much of my life. I didn’t notice. And they’re now making up for lost time, laying up treasures in heaven by living for Christ. Have you ever trusted Jesus as your Savior as the only hope you have of reaching heaven? If you have, my friend, your Savior eternally. But now you need to be serving and earning rewards, which will obviously be forever.
And you don’t want to stand before the Lord and have Him say, wow, you’ve done nothing worthy of reward and suffered the loss of reward for all eternity. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, this is Bibleline, and we’re going to go to the phone lines. You’re welcome to call in. The number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go down to South Florida. We’re going to Pembroke Pines, which is, I think, between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. We have Joe on the line, and Joe, welcome to Bibleline.
You’re on the air. Good, Joe. I’m going to let you know that I’m going to come up and see you, Wendy. That’s exciting. I want to let you know that I’m going to come and I do have a question I wanted to ask you while I have the chance here. I’ve heard people say that for the past 2000 years that we’ve been in the last days since the day, like the New Testament was finished, up until now like the last 2000 years have been the last day so-called, like, you know, and, but then Hebrews went to, and these last days, is that true or the last days are more or less like the times we’re in now since is your determination.
Well, I… Well I think we have to define here. The last days for Israel are not the same as the last days for the church. You have to recognize that the church age which began at Pentecost will end at the rapture has been slipped into God’s program. And so the last days for Israel, because if Israel had accepted their Messiah 2000 years ago, this church age that we live in would not have ever occurred, you and I would have ever been born.
And so the last days for Israel were when Christ came the first time and also when Christ comes the second time. So those were the last times and they’re still yet ahead for Israel. But the last days for the church are right now. at the end of the church age, it’s going to be about 2,000 years in length and as soon as the church age is up then of course God will go back to dealing with His plan for Israel and will be in the last days for Israel.
The last days for Israel truly don’t commence until the event of the Rapture happens but we can tell we must be in those days right now for the church and the last days for Israel coming up right ahead because the Jewish people are back in the state of Israel and that is of course the mark of the evening of the two thousand year interval between the two comings of Christ. So I think we’re in the last days for the church right now and the last days for Israel are about ready to commence once the rapture happens and then God will deal with Israel and preparing them for the side of come.
Okay. Can I ask you one more quick question? Sure. Matthew 24 on Jesus speaks to the, the, the, um, it’s going to be like, um, why did it, It seems as if he like directed all those statements towards them, as if they were going to see all that stuff happen, or whether that he was really directed towards the church and whoever would hear up until this point. Well, he directed it to his disciples because they’re the ones… the ones who asked the question.
But it’s obviously, uh, uh, something that would, uh, be, uh, very, very valuable for those who would be living after the rapture during the tribulation period. I believe verse four, verses four through eight talk about the first half of the tribulation verses 9 through 14 talk about the second half of the tribulation and then verses 15 to the end of the chapter in Matthew 24 talk about again a big review of the second half of the tribulation period and it really doesn’t even commence until the rapture has happened and those events of Matthew 24 really unfold.
And you see that in particular in verse 15 when the Jewish people who become saved and are reading the Book of Matthew during the tribulation period after the rapture are told when they see the antichrist placed his lifelike image in the rebuilt temple which is not built right now it’ll be built right after the rapture. And I was just in Israel and they have everything ready. The implements for worship. The manor we got to see that. and the temple furniture and the excitement for rehabilitation and temple is there.
The stones have been cut and we believe that it will be erected rather quickly once the rapture happens. And then the anacrist will desecrate that temple, places image in it and then they are to flee and run for their lives. And they are going to run to southern Jordan to the rock city of Petra, 40 square miles of city carved right out of the rock where God will miraculously feed and water Israel again once again like he did in the wilderness when they wanted for 40 years and God then will protect them from the antichrist and then Christ will come back at the end and defeat the antichrist and set up his kingdom and bring all those Jews out of Petra back into the promise land.
It’s all exciting stuff but that’s good advice there for the Jews in that time because they’re told that they don’t have time to pack their suitcase. They They better run for their lives once the Antichrist places his image in that third temple that is soon to be rebuilt. Okay. The Apatra? Yes. My wife wasn’t known like if they’re going to hide in a rock to be a Petra, they shouldn’t have something in the way that they can’t get to them.
Well, the whole point is not only is it a good hiding place, but the country of Jordan apparently is going to be politically neutral and escape by the hand of the Antichrist. It says in Daniel 11 when the Antichrist takes over the core countries of the Middle East and you already see the handwriting on the wall with R going into Iraq and Afghanistan that it says that even these will escape out of his hand, even Amman and the land of Edom and Moab and that is modern-day Jordan.
Amman is the capital today of Jordan and so that land will escape out of the Antichrist So politically, he’ll be kind of excluded from that country and the Jews will be safe. God’s got it all planned out. I’ll tell you, it’s all set to go. Oh, you have to figure God will make a way that they won’t be died. And we can already see it, how Jordan has managed to be somewhat politically neutral throughout all of this and they will remain so right in the core of the Antichrist territory, the Jews will be safe in the country of Jordan.
Well, thank you, Dr. Hank. I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday evening. Well, I look forward to being with you, Joe. Thanks for telling me and God bless you. OK, I’ll bless you too. All right, that was Joe down in South Florida in the Miami area. We’re now going to Geno in Tampa and Geno. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on here. Yes, how you doing? I wanted to ask about the saying that people have. The saying that they have and we stay there in the Bible, but they’re not.
and this one thing of uh… dot help those who have been a bible and i’m going to listen okay gino though it’s not there at all in fact the bible helps those who can help themselves that’s what the gospel message is all about that were unable to save ourselves and in romans four five right this one down gino it says to him that does not work does not work at all the him to work if not but believes on christ who justifies the and godly his faith in christ is counted for righteousness.
So God does, for us, what we could not do for ourselves, salvation is God’s gift, he purchased it, and offers it free to all that would trust him as their Savior. And so obviously, that’s an expression that is not in the Bible. Also, cleanliness is next to Godliness, I used to hear that. And certainly that phrase is not in the Bible either. And many, many more. I want to say, hide in Miami and buy to Miami because I know you all signed off a little bit early before our other stations and we’re so tickled to have Miami back online with us as we go on the air down there on the BMCU 1080 on the M dial and keep listing and again if you all can help us down there financially we need your support to keep the program going.
Just call and give a gift by credit card over the phone or call an aspirin I’ll look to be sent with our address on it. God bless you all. Now to our phone lines, we’re going to go to Sam in Lakeland, Florida. And Sam, welcome to Bible Angel in the air. Good morning and I enjoy your program. Hey, I wanted to ask you a question about something with said Friday. Alright Friday you were saying that the seed come to the man and that was about what said and then a lady called from Jerusalem somewhere over there and she was saying about Isaac and she was saying about Abraham had to see by me and that was that was made that we’ll see come to the woman and that character.
That’s what I’m saying. with you. And what she said was that Abraham was the father of Ishmael, but Abraham was also the father of Isaac. But yet the seed or the inheritance came through Isaac. So therefore, because Isaac’s mother, Sarah, was the mother that therefore they said it came through the woman because Abraham really, his seed, caused Ishmael, which is the father of all the Arab nations, and Isaac, the father of the Jewish people, both had the same father.
So good point. And she was really saying that that was the answer to that. Thank you, Sam. We are now going to have to go to our break and do the second half hour Bible I’m coming up. So keep your radio dialed in right where it is. I hope that you will go to the internet if you can’t get the second half hour because we’re there for the full hour on the internet wherever you might be. Also don’t forget again to pray for Bibleline.
We’re winding up the month today. We could use your help financially. So if you want to give a gift of Bibleline this will be a good time to do it. Just call and give it by credit card over the phone or ask for an envelope to be sent. You can mail that gift in and we’ll mail that envelope right out to you today. God bless, let’s hold on, we’ll be right back in just a moment for a second half hour of Bibleline.
Don’t go away, Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well this is Bibleline and I’m Dr. Englensch, and it’s wonderful to be with you and we thank you for listening today, and I hope you will continue to listen and enjoy Bibleline as as we come to you every day Monday through Friday from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida. God bless you and thank you for being a part of our audience.
We hope that you’ll think about being a student here as we are gonna be teaching second Peter beginning April 1st, that’s tomorrow, for a month of Tuesdays and that’ll be five Tuesdays, that’ll be 10 hours of teaching, that’ll be available on CV and DVD. And of course, if you live in driving distance, You can come and actually sit in the classroom. We’re also planning to go back to Israel. We might get you to go with us, we hope, and enjoy a wonderful trip.
We’re planning an option, possibly. We’re just talk right now, but we’re about ready to make a decision. We would have an option before the trip to Israel where we would fly to Egypt. And there we would see the pyramids. will probably go inside the Great Pyramid or you would have an option to choose to do that. You can go right on into the very heart of the pyramid and see the chamber where the pharaoh was buried. Fascinating. And also to visit the Cairo Museum we’ll stay on the island right there in the middle of the Nile River in downtown Cairo.
A beautiful fine star to like so tell. You’ll have a wonderful time. We’ll probably have a dinner cruise on the Nile River at night and It’s just a thrilling exciting event to visit the treasures of Egypt the treasures of King Tut in any case will then drive from Egypt To a lot on the Red Sea an Israeli city a beautiful place right there on the edge of the desert Right on the beautiful Red Sea people come from all over the world of scuba dive and vacation and water ski and all those kind of things and we’ll then drive into Petra, Southern Jordan, to see the rock city where the Jewish people will flee the Antichrist.
That’ll be exciting and then we’ll come back to a lot and then going up into Israel and those who are just going to do Israel will then have arrived from the states and we’ll all be together as a total group to enjoy the rest of the state of Israel. Anyway, let us know your name and information and we’ll try to keep you updated on that. We hope that you have an interest and if you want to go, it will be trip number 16 for me.
Again, Bibleline is listeners supported. We do need your help, but if you could help us, we would greatly appreciate that. Call our 800 number and give a gift by credit card or ask for an envelope to be sent with our address and mail that gift in. God bless you and thank you in advance for your prayers and your gifts to Bibleline. We’re about ready to do the second half hour Bibleline, so keep your radio right where it is. When you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr.
Lindstrom a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-575-7. 776-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break and this is the second half hour by the line and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and it’s exciting to be able to be with you. And this is Monday and guess what? Tomorrow is April first and we’re going to start our class on 2nd Peter and I hope you’ll be able to if you’re in driving distance come and actually be in the classroom.
It’ll be from about 7th to 9th. Actually, we’ll probably run it from 7th, 15th to 9th, 15th. But if you get here by 7 or earlier, you can sign up and be a student in the classroom. We’re going to have a wonderful time. This is a book I guarantee you the devil doesn’t want you to know about. He hates Second Peter and most liberal theologians who obviously are probably not saved, reject the book and want to see it take you down to the Bible and don’t really like the book at all.
And of course that’s Satan obviously. He doesn’t like this book and he doesn’t want you to learn it. So let me encourage you to come. We’re going to have a great time studying Second Peter beginning April 1st, tomorrow night at 7 o’clock. We’ll study for five weeks, two hours per night, ten hours of teaching, and of course that will all be made available on CD or DVD. And you can call and order the series and get it on CD or DVD.
We’re excited about this class and of course tomorrow is the start date. So if you live in driving distance, consider getting together with several others and drive on over and sit in the classroom. we’re having great time. Usually the classroom setting is so good because we get a chance to enjoy each other’s company in the break time. We usually have some refreshments and people get together and talk and have a good time and then we come back and do the second half hour and then we go home.
Sometimes people don’t want to even go home then. They’re just having too much fun enjoying God’s Word. So that’s tomorrow night, April 1st. For five Tuesday nights, we’ll finish it up in the month of April and the five Tuesdays that there are in April. And we hope that you’ll be a student in our classroom. If not, if you live in another area, you can get the CD series. We already have 1st Peter already done. It’s available to you. So give us a call.
You can order 1st Peter and then you can get 2nd Peter when we conclude that at the end of April. We’ve been mentioning here that we were planning to go to Israel again and we’re talking about a possibility. We haven’t said anything in concrete yet, but we’re talking about an option prior to Actually doing the tour in Israel to fly to Egypt Visit the pyramids will probably go inside the great pyramid. That is a great thrill if you haven’t done that before we’ll get a chance to Probably Ryan a camel or two.
We’ll also get a chance to visit the Cairo Museum the the treasures of King Tut The mummies and other artifacts, 100,000 artifacts, you spend a lifetime there, not see everything in that museum. And we’ll stay in a beautiful five-star deluxe hotel in the middle of the Nile River on an island in downtown Cairo. Absolutely fabulous. We’ll probably have a dinner cruise on the Nile River, having a wonderful dinner. We’ll drive from Egypt to a lot on the Red Sea, a beautiful resort city in Israel, and then of course we’ll drive over to Jordan to the Rock City Petra where the Jews will be hidden during the tribulation period from the wrath of the Antichrist.
We’ll then come back to a lot and then we’ll go up to Tiberius and then the people going Israel only will have arrived from the states and all of us will be together as one nice wonderful group to tour all of Israel together. So you can decide to do just Israel or if you want to do that option you’ll be able to do that as well and we just want your input. You say, hey, that sounds good to me.
That’s what I would like to do. We want to hear from you. So we’ll be able to do three countries. And if you just want to do Israel, you can do that or you can take the option and get Egypt and Jordan, the Rock City of Petra, prior to. We want to leave Israel as the last and we want to wind up our trip by going to the Tomb of Christ and the Hill of Calvary as the last memory.
We obviously, that’s the most important thing for us as believers is Jesus died for our sins and was buried and rose again from the dead. Wow, anyway, it’s exciting. By the way, this is the last day of March. We need your help to finish out this March month on our feet. If you could help us financially, you could give a gift by credit card over the phone today or you could call and get an envelope sent to you and mail us a gift.
We could use your help. Obviously, everybody in our country has suffered a little bit of loss because of the economy. And Bible and has been no exception. And we could use your help to come out even. We don’t want to cut any broadcasting. And so pray with us that we might be able to see the Lord provide this. And if you could help, that would be great. Let me thank you in advance. God bless you. Thank you for all of you who give and pray for Bible and you are the heroes that I want to certainly say thank you to you in advance.
We’re going to go to the phone lines and you’re welcome to call 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go to Carl and Carl is in Tampa, Florida. Carl, welcome to Bible Aid. Okay. You’re on the air. Okay. Carl, go ahead. Thanks. Yeah. Okay. Let me ask you a question. In the Bible, in, let’s see, Isaiah 14 refers the day star well i believe that it is up lucifer in this case he is the counterfeit of christ and uh… christ also courses called in the uh…
book revelation the britain morning star but uh… uh… lucifer also uh… attempted to overthrow god and and become god and became the counterfeit of the uh… day star or christ okay so in the day star you refer to both yes you can refer to both it really uh… gami i want to come in i see that in uh… uh… of notes in the bottom of the jesus was a big part and we have the counterfeit you know he’s the counterfeit son of god is the counterfeit day star he’s the counterfeit uh…
everything so satan has his counterfeit of christ and uh… obviously uh… uh… he’s a deceiver and uh… the bible says in second korean this chapter eleven uh… no marvel if satan’s ministers be transformed as ministers of christ uh… state ministers will say that their ministers of jesus and they’re not and uh… so you know what’s up with the reception and say as a kind of it for Perfect for everything. Also in Loop 1623, and then I’ll end up in the listen to the answer, but it refers to there as hell instead of Hades.
Have you explained that for me? Yeah. It’s… yeah it should be uh… translated haiti’s of the translators that took the word haiti’s and translated to hell every time haiti’s is not the same thing as hell the greek word for the final hell the turnal lake of fire is gihanna And that is also translated to help. But in this case, it’s talking about the hollow place in the heart of the earth, which in the Old Testament was called CO, SHEOL, Hades and CO are equivalent.
And this is where before the cross, saved and lost, both of them went there. And the lost were in a place of torment. And the saved were in a place of comfort called paradise. And in Luke 16, you have two men, a saved man, a lost man dying and you see them in the heart of the earth and they could look at each other and talk to each other across an impassable gulf but they couldn’t pass over to one to another.
So the bridge man is still in flaming torment but when Christ died at the cross he went down into that place called Paradise and he emptied it out and now Paradise is in heaven. And I hope that helps. Thank you Carl. We now have Keith in Lakeland, Florida. Keith welcome to Bibleline, you’re on the air. I did answer that I think about the body being our God’s temple. It says there, if any man basically destroyed the temple, God will destroy him.
Stalking the Greek word really could be translated ruin. If you ruin your temple, God is going to ruin you. In other words, you’ll be judged for how you treat this temple. So we want to treat our bodies with respect. We ought not to defile them with drugs or narcotics or alcohol and so on. We ought to use them for God’s glory. God has chosen the covenant dwell in each of our bodies as believers and it’s God’s temple. Therefore we are to glorify God in our body and in our spirit which are his.
That says that in 1st Corinthians 6, 19, and 20. It’s really talking about. If you don’t respect your body and use it for the Lord as a Christian, God will probably take you home to heaven and destroy your body. You sure welcome Peter? Now we’re going to go to Curtis in Jacksonville, Florida. Curtis, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Master Patank. Good morning. When Jesus made this statement, the first will be last and the last will be first.
He referred to the church in the Jews. I believe he was because although we came after the Jews, we’re going to be the first to be judged and the first to get our resurrection bodies. When Christ comes to the Rapture, He will judge us and reward us according to our deeds in heaven and give us our resurrection bodies. But all of the Old Testament saints have to wait seven more years until the end of the tribulation period and it’s then that they’ll get their rewards and they’ll get their resurrection bodies after us.
So although they were first they’ll be last and because we were last we’re going to get to be first. I got one question I asked you sometime back. Did you ever find out? No I never could find out. Well I think I did find an answer but I can’t recall it now. I looked it up and then it was back there in the Old Testament. I have a reference for somewhere. The father of Nathan, I think we wrote that down and now I’m misplaced a sheet but it’s kind of difficult to find, you know, but we did find it and I think, well, let me announce it, I think my operator here is digging it out here for me and we’ll let you know.
Okay, thank you very much. All right, thank you. That is Curtis in Jacksonville, Florida. We now have Peter. Oh, it’s Keith, rather. Something I don’t know who’s this is. We have Paul Marber. And are you Keith or Peter? This is Peter. OK, Peter, I got the right one then. Good morning, Pastor. How are you? Good morning. All right. I’m trying to, something seems a little bit out of place to the order of which things happened. And I’m referring to Peter talking in Acts chapter 2, when he refers to the passage and Joel saying in the last days that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh.
All flesh. My understanding and the fact that When the comforter will come that there are three things. It has improved the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. That I can see how the Spirit is poured on all flesh. isn’t happening. It will happen the second coming Christ will destroy all unbelievers and then only believers will be left and then everybody on the planet will get the Holy Spirit at the second coming. Peter is not saying that that passage in Joel was fulfilled at Pentecost but he is saying that the Holy Spirit that was received by the church at Pentecost is the same Holy Spirit that will be poured out on all flesh at the second coming.
Because in Joel 2, when you go all the way back to verse 12, it talks about the repentance of the Jews, of the Jews saying, blessed to see that comes in the name of the Lord essentially. Exactly. And that happened yet. Right, and then if you read verse 20 of Joel 2, Right. it tells us that Russia has to be destroyed, which is going to happen in the nuclear war of Armageddon, and Russia will be destroyed, and only the hinder part of Russia will remain, that part in Syria, rather Siberia.
And then Jesus comes back and actually is present on the earth ruling in the next verses until you get to verse 28 and it says, and after that, He’s not applying it. He’s simply saying that the Holy Spirit that will be poured out upon all flesh at the Second Coming is the same Holy Spirit that’s given to the Church of Pentecost. He’s not saying that that Joel passage was fulfilled. So he’s just referring to the fact that we are in the.
We. Well, I think that we’re in the. Well, I think what he’s really saying is that the Holy Spirit that was promised to Israel that will be poured out upon all flesh on the planet at the Second Coming is the same Holy Spirit that was being poured out on the day of Pentecost upon the believers there on that day. But obviously it wasn’t poured out upon all flesh at that time and that prophecy was not fulfilled. He’s simply saying that this is not what you’re spoken of by Joel the Prophet, but he didn’t say it was the fulfillment of it.
Anytime you’ll see the word fulfilled, that’s a different meaning when it’s fulfilled. It wasn’t fulfilled. He was saying it’s simply the same spirit. So in spirit. That’s right. So he’s authenticating that the Holy Soul. Right. And those who try to apply Joel today are wrong because it still cannot happen. Well first of all, all flesh don’t have the Holy Spirit to dad. I wish my neighbors in my neighborhood did, but they don’t. the neighbors around my church here most of them don’t have the Holy Spirit and obviously our Congress doesn’t seem to have the Holy Spirit today I wish they all did but what a wonderful day it’s gonna be when everybody saved and everybody will have the Holy Spirit that’s still future and it has to come after Russia’s destroyed at the Battle of Armageddon including Joel and if you see the word afterward that verse in
Joel 2 and he says afterward that’s after the destruction of Russia. It’s the afterward in Joel that makes the whole of you having to go back and research and figure out what he’s talking about And he’s talking about yeah It’s still a future event and after rush is destroyed after crisis return then he’ll pour out a spirit upon all flesh Okay, makes perfect sense now. Thanks a lot Peter alright that is a Peter and most of the Pentecostal and charismatic churches try to tell us that that has already been fulfilled.
It hasn’t been. And Peter’s not saying that it was. The word fulfilled is not there in Acts chapter 2 when Peter spoke about it. He’s simply talking about the Holy Spirit that will be poured out upon all flesh, which hasn’t happened yet, is the same Holy Spirit that was poured out of Pentecost upon the believers of this age. Alright, a previous caller that asked about the name of Nathan’s father, the answer is in 1 Chronicles 2.36. His father’s name is A-T-T-A-I.
First Chronicles 2.36. Hopefully you’re listening and wrote that down. First Chronicles 2.26. excuse me, 1st Chronicles 2 36. Alright, we have some offer questions, maybe we’ll take a few of those. We find here Patrick in Tampa, Florida calls in and leaves this offer question, is playing cards, for example poker for money against God’s laws? Well, the Bible doesn’t specifically mention poker or card games because I don’t think they were played back in times, but the whole idea of gambling or getting something for nothing is a principle that God warns about and how that you can lose your riches and they can flee from you if you think you’re going to get rich quick by some of these different means.
And of course gambling is a way that you can lose it all rather quickly and you can find yourself totally broke. So yes, that would be a principle that you don’t want to violate, but there’s no law or no scripture that says you cannot play cards. But you need to be careful whenever you gamble, you’ll fight to lose everything you’ve got. We have Jason in Raskin, Florida, and Jason, welcome to Bibleline You’re On There. Hi, how are you, Don?
Good. Well Martin Luther the Reformer really didn’t understand James and he called it an epistle of straw and he thought it contradicted the gospel message and added works to it and he obviously saw that salvation was a gift and not by works but James to 23 teaches justification by faith alone without works but people don’t read it very carefully and I think Martin Luther missed it as well where it quotes Genesis 15 six. and says Abraham believed God and it was counted in him for righteousness.
What James is talking about is that after you’re saved, that if you’re going to have profit or rewards in heaven, you need to have works because unless you have works, your faith is not going to profit you. Profit is always referring to rewards. Salvation without exception is always referred to in the Scriptures God’s gift. So a gift is not earned, a gift is not given based on our merit, it’s a gift. Salvation is a gift, but profit rewards are the theme of James and he’s talking about believers earning rewards.
But he then reverts back in James 2.23 and quotes Genesis 15.6 and shows how Abraham was saved without works, but that Abraham’s works brought him reward. All right. Thank you. You’re sure welcome. Thank you Jason and Jason calling in from Ruskin, Florida Ruskin, Florida We have a Celeste in Huntsville, Texas calling in she leaves us off air question What is the purpose of fasting as in Matthew 6? Well fasting was really To be done so that you could be of clear mind to discern God’s will or to understand in his word and the same is true today.
Obviously, we all fast whether we realize it or not. If you go to sleep at night and when you wake up in the morning, your first meal is called break fast. You break the fast. You fast it all night long. Whether you planned on it or not, unless you can just be an eating machine and eat while you’re sleeping, we generally fast all night long. Well, I practice fasting, but I don’t do it in an obvious way. But I usually like to eat several hours before I speak, because I don’t want my mind to be dull.
And so for your mind to be sharp or to be clear, you don’t want to eat a lot before you speak or study. I remember in college that I realized that if I ate a big meal before I took an exam, would do poorly. So I always ate, as several hours before I would take an exam. And if I wanted to be clear thinking, I didn’t need a big meal first. And so that’s really what it’s about in the Bible.
When you wanted to seek out God’s will or to find meaning in His Word, it’s better to do it on a little bit of an empty stomach. That’s all it’s all about. It’s not a, you know, a big secret. I think you can figure that one out. We have anonymous calling in from uh… we don’t know what’s the but they leave us off their question what is the bible say about dancing to christians dance my wife and i have been invited by non-believers to attend a dance uh…
said in the theme of the roaring twenties other styles of dance as well well the bible uh… talks about dancing of course there is uh… david dancing in in the worship and in thanking the Lord. You know, in Israel, I’ve seen the youth doing the Israeli folk heads. This is more like the square dances of this country. It’s kind of very innocent and just they grab hands and they go to the left, they go to the right, they feel more like a lion dance and they kick their feet and they clap their hands and they spin and it’s very, very wholesome.
But I think some of the modern day dancing has more theme of sex or seduction sometimes and are obviously intended to be along those themes. So I think you have to decide and choose what you’re going to participate in as a Christian and being a testimony. I think I would be careful what dances you choose. Anyway, I hope that helps a little bit, but the Bible doesn’t say no, you can’t dance, but obviously we are to be aware of what kind of message we’re sending out to other people by the things that we do, and sometimes some dances would be wrong.
Now we also know that when Moses came down from Mount Sinai, The people were dancing there and that was a wrong kind of dancing. Stripped their clothes off and they got naked and they were dancing and Obviously Moses became very upset and he broke the tablets of the law So there can be the wrong kind of dance and there can be the right kind of dance And I think you have to be discerning and ask does this bring glory to the Lord first Corinthians 10 31 says whatever you do Whether you eat or you drink or whatever you do let it bring glory to the Lord and so you have to evaluate whether that activity, whichever you’re going to participate in, would bring the Lord of the Lord or not, or would not do it based on that.
