We have some wonderful little booklets on the scriptures that are inexpensive and are knowing God’s will and how to understand the Bible, how to study the Bible. And on the religion of Islam, it’s a real great book to give you the ammunition you need to be able to break through to somebody who’s Muslim and lead them to Christ.
We have one on Masons as well. It’s very powerful, about 70, 80 pages, and it’s a great one to expose what goes on. We just were talking to Othele yesterday that said he was 30 years into Mason’s and thought that was his way to heaven. He said most of the guys think that that’s their church and that’s their way of salvation. And of course he said it wasn’t the truth at all because it was all based on human works.
That’s a great book we have that will give you some real insights into the masons. He said the final passcode to get into the temple after he had gone through these many years turned out to be Mecca, you believe in that, which is Islam. Mecca is where the rock is, that the Muslims worshiped. The Muslims when they pray five times a day, they aim their bodies toward that black meteorite that fell out of the sky. And I tell them they’re really rock worshipers because they bow to that rock and they’re supposed to take a once in a lifetime journey to see that rock at Mecca.
And I’ve seen many in the Middle East that have done that. And guess what? They’re blind. You look at them and you can tell what they’ve done. They’ve taken a hot iron and actually burned their own eyes out because they feel like there’s nothing worth seeing again on God’s earth once they’ve seen the black rock. It’s just a 12 inch diameter meteorite. But what a tragedy that this religion does such terrible things to its constituents and they burned their eyes out once some of them do when they see that it’s a sense of pride.
but they can let people know I’ve seen the Black Rock, I don’t need to see anything else now on this planet. Well this is Bible and I’m in the blank bench, and we’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes, and then we’re going to be answering your questions. You can call us at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771, and we hope that you’ll give us a call. This is the week that this weekend Passover will be observed by the Jewish people around the world and it will be observed according to the biblical calendar, the Jewish calendar, the lunar calendar.
And so this is probably the more accurate date as to when Christ was crucified. Jesus died exactly when the Lamb and Israel were being offered up as the Passover Lamb. And Jesus was the fulfillment of that, and he is the Passover Lamb, and he died exactly when they would offer up that Lamb. He died at three o’clock in the afternoon. That’s when they would offer up the Lamb as the Passover Lamb. And Jesus died as the fulfillment of that.
You know, one of the great passages in the Bible is 1 Corinthians 15, where the Gospel is defined. And it really centers in on this very event where Christ was crucified as the Passover Lamb. Let me read it to you. Corinthians 15 and verse 3, for I delivered unto you first of all, that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. Notice what the verse says here, says Christ died for our sins.
Christ died for our sins. First of all, think about it. Do you know if anybody else that has died for your sins? Well, I don’t know of anybody. And by the way, Buddha didn’t, Muhammad didn’t, Confucius didn’t, the founders of all religions didn’t, but Jesus did, and according to the Bible he’s God who came and took on human flesh in order to go to the cross. And there’s only one Savior. It’s amazing that in Islam there is no Savior, in Buddhism there is no Savior, in Hinduism there is no Savior.
All of the world religions are based on human works and human efforts, and you are to save yourself based upon the things that you do. You know the word religion comes from two Latin words, Re and Ligio, and it means to do something of self to bind back to God, and all the religions of the world have this common denominator. That you have to work your way to heaven, that you have to do something to bind yourself back to God, and the Bible teaches the exact opposite.
The Bible teaches that God did for man what man could not do for himself and that God left heaven and he is the one who offered himself as the sacrifice. And there’s nothing that you or I could do or contribute. And when we simply trust Christ, God saves us. Not a wonderful story and it is the story that God’s re-16 says so well for God so love the world. You and me that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
God did all the hard part. God is the one who made the provision for our sin. Jesus Christ died as the Lamb of God, our part simply to believe the trust, the trust that He did it for us. And if we do that, we’ll not perish because He perished in our place, but we’ll have present tense, possess everlasting life. Greatest message I ever heard and wow, what a great message it is. Christ died for our sins. Name somebody else that’s died for your sins.
I think you’re going to have trouble finding somebody. Nobody has. Nobody has. Only Jesus died for your sins. And the Bible says in this wonderful defining passage in 1 Corinthians 15, it says here that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. And notice that phrase according to the Scriptures, that’s referring to the Old Testament Scriptures. That’s right. The Old Testament foretold the coming of Christ and how He would die and how He would pay for our sins.
It’s very clear. I love Isaiah 53, written 700 years before Christ came the first time. It says in verse 5, He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our inequities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him. And with his stripes we are healed. For six says all we like, chief of God is straight. We’ve turned everyone to his own way. And the Lord has fled on him the iniquity of us all. What is it? Clear, isn’t it?
God took our sin. God laid our iniquities, our sins upon Christ. He paid for them. And even though we had gone astray, we’ve gone to our own direction. But He would be wounded for our transgressions. He would be bruised for our iniquities. That’s told 700 years before He died on the cross. And what does it say here in 1 Corinthians 15 verse 3? Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He literally fulfilled the Prophets and the prophecies that they gave.
And then it says he was buried verse 4, 1 Corinthians 15, and he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. That’s right. The death barrel in the resurrection of Christ is taught throughout the Old Testament, and Jesus Christ literally fulfilled the prophecies. And he rose again after being buried the third day according to the scriptures. We believe Christ was crucified on Wednesday of the crucifixion week and that he was buried and then he rose again from the dead.
And so Christ was in the grave 72 hours and so we believe being placed in the grave On Wednesday at sundown he came out of the grave Saturday at sundown, which if you count by Jewish time from sundown to sundown Saturday at sundown is the beginning of Sunday night. So he rose at the beginning of the first day of the week and of course it was in the morning twelve hours later the women came and discovered the empty tomb.
He was already risen from the dead. This way he came back from the dead, showed himself alive for 40 days and he taught his disciples. They saw him, they touched him, they handled him. And you know, these men were transformed as a result of having seen Jesus who had come back from the dead. Let me read from 1 John. Here’s John the Apostle and here’s what he says. He says in verse 1 of 1 John chapter 1, that which was from the beginning.
He’s talking about Jesus, who is eternal and was around since the creation because he is the creator. That which was from the beginning, he says, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and which we have handled of the Word of Life, talking about Christ. John is saying we touched him. We saw him. We heard him. We handled him. We observed him as disciples for three years and they saw him crucified and they saw him buried and they saw him rise again from the dead.
John declares this one that he was an eyewitness to. That he had come back from the dead and is alive evermore. Peter tells us the same thing. He said, we’re witnesses of these things that Christ did, that he was crucified and buried and that he was risen again from the dead. It says in verse 32 of Acts chapter 2, it says, and this is Peter, I’m quoting, this Jesus have God raised up where of we are all witnesses. They saw him.
He came back to the dead. He’s alive. Let me tell you, Muhammad is still dead, Confecious is still dead, Buddha is still dead, and all the founders of all of our religions are dead, and none of them can help you. And their tombs are still occupied, but you know the tomb of Christ is empty. I was just there just a few weeks ago, and I can testify to you the tomb of Christ is empty. He’s gone, he’s risen, he leaves an empty tomb to demonstrate the fact that he’s not here.
But that’s not true of the founders of all the world religions. They’re dead men and they cannot help you. They’re still in their graves, but Christ left an empty tomb. It’s exciting and I know that there’s only one Savior in this Bible declares this whole thing before it ever came to pass. And that’s why you can know that it’s true because this book is never wrong. God said in Isaiah 48 verse 4, because I knew that you were obstinate, stubborn, hard to be condensed, iron-necked, stiff-necked, stubborn, obstinate people.
He said, I’m going to tell you things before they come to pass. So when they come to pass, you’ll know that I am the author of this book and that these things are absolutely true. That’s incredible. You know that really got my attention when I read that for the first time in Isaiah 48, God says, I knew that you were obstinate, brass-headed, iron necked. He said, because I’m dealing with stiff-necked, iron-necked, stubborn, obstinate people, I’m going to tell you things before they ever come to pass before you ever know them, before you ever discover them.
So you can know that this book is true. I’m sure the Bible does deliver on that. Unfortunately, most people don’t know a thing about their Bible today because they never read it, and they have been cheated by the devil out of the greatest book that they’ve ever had. book that has ever been written. That is God’s own word that God is the author of, but he used human writers to put it down on paper for us. We have a great book and a great God.
We’re going to go to the phone lines here just a minute. I’m Dr. Hank Linson. This is Bibleline. You’re welcome to call in if you like. The number is 1-800-576-3771. And we’re going to go right now to Mike down in Pompa to reach Florida. And Mike, welcome to the Bible. Yes, hello? You’re on the air. I wonder about the strips of when Jesus said, I’m about mother and father, and let the days and long lives he would add unto you.
Was he talking to the lost man or the saved man? I don’t think it matters. He’s just saying that as a rule, a law that if you are going to honor your father and your mother, you’re going to be blessed with longer life. and that’s just a it doesn’t matter what you say the laws that’s going to be true well good mike and they do you have another question that’s it well got what you think we’re listening down there in pambo beach okay all right get to later that’s uh…
mike that pambo beach for if you like calling your welcome to do that we have here uh… uh… valerie in tampa fordish he says in second chronicles nineteen eleven as a reference Zebadiah, the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, I thought the time of Judah came from Isaac’s lineage. Can you explain this? And the answer is of course this is a different Ishmael. This is not the same Ishmael that is the son of Abraham through Hagar.
This is a different Ishmael. It’s hundreds of years later. He’s still the original Ishmael is not around. So that’s the answer is the Duryanh by the same name. Okay, we now have Adam in Denver, Colorado. He says, I’ve heard you mentioned the Army of Food and Million in China. And that is something that has been now mentioned now for years that China has a population of 1.2 billion people, but they boast that they can field an army of 200 million.
You can read about that in Revelation chapter And by the way, the Bible tells us before the Chinese army marches into the Middle East, the river Euphrates will try up. Now, that’s interesting, because the river Euphrates begins up in Turkey, flows down through Syria, and then finally about 600 miles down through Iraq out of the Persian Gulf. That river has been flowing for thousands of years. It’s one of the rivers mentioned all the way back in the early pages of Genesis.
It’s been around for a long, long time and it’s right there in Iraq and guess what? That river will dry up, the Bible says, and then the Chinese army will come marching through. Well, you know, guess what? It’s possible today for man to shut that river off. Turkey is built a dam project in Turkey where the source of the river is, similarly as one project in Egypt. And when they first wanted to fill up the reservoirs behind the dam, they did shut off the water temporarily.
They have like, I guess, the analogy would be like a big plug in your bathtub. They electronically pushed the button, this big concrete plug shut off the water from flowing down through the Euphrates River down to the Persian Gulf. the rivers did go way dry for a short period of time and it caused a great problem in the Middle East but they could do it at any time as a political decision and decided to shut off the water to Syria and to Iraq and the river would be shut off and that’s when the Chinese army would come.
Isn’t that amazing? Everything is falling into place because at the Battle of Armageddon the Chinese will march their armies into the Middle East and if you If you put your finger on China, you might want to try this if you have a globe, run your finger from China to Israel, and guess what? If you don’t lift your finger when you get him to Iraq, your finger is going to write through your Fades River and get all wet. Except right at the end times that river will dry up and they’ll be able to march across on dry land.
Okay, we’re going to Sean in Lansing, Michigan. And Sean, welcome to my line. You’re on there. How you doing, Dr. Hank? Good. I had a couple of questions for you. This should be quick. I was talking to a person that is part of a religion that claims to be the troop and they And I talked about that they had that you have to go to meeting in order to show that you’re faithful to God. Now they use the reference of…
He was a reference of Hebrew 1025 and then he also referred to the description of Ephesians that talked about faith that our works is dead. And they were making sure that that was the key nose speaking of what they were talking about. And I did. And I just wanted to hear your… Well, who is he wanting to show this to? Now, if you’re wanting to show it to men and let people think you’re faithful, then that’s true. But God doesn’t need to see your works or your deeds.
In fact, the Bible says in the Old Testament in 2 Samuel that the Lord looks on the heart and not only outward appearance, but man looks on the outward appearance and he doesn’t know what’s in your heart, but all he can see is your works. Obviously works have nothing to do with salvation and this is a total misunderstanding of the phrase in James that faith without works is dead. It really means it doesn’t produce any fruit or any rewards.
And James is talking about profit or rewards. He’s not talking about how to be saved. He’s talking to people who are already saved. If you read the book of James, he says throughout my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, he’s talking to believers throughout the whole book. And he’s not telling them how to be saved. He already tells them that they’re born again in chapter 1 verse 18 of James. And then he He tells them that they need to move forward and live for Christ and serve and do works or their faith alone without works will not produce any rewards or things that God will reward in heaven and will suffer from loss of reward in heaven forever.
He was standing at 25 as a great verse but he talked to believers here not through sinking the assembling of ourselves together as the men are some is but exhorting one another, encouraging one another and so much the more you see the day of approaching. I think as we approach the Lord’s return which is now more and more we need to come together with other believers to learn his word which is not really what’s happening today. Most churches today it’s becoming more of an aerobic service where you jump around and clap your hands and listen to music.
If you read in the book of Acts the early church you read nothing about music, nothing about praise and worship. It says they came together in Acts chapter to study the Apostles doctrine. That’s the word of God, prior to the New Testament record being written. The number one reason why they gathered together on the first day of the week was to study the word of God, not for praise and worship. Today we have certainly gotten a sign-trite, and I believe the first praise and worship leader was Guess Who?
Aaron, the brother of Moses, and what did he do with his praise and worship? Well, they got together with the old cat he misled him doctorly and not only that they went off and were dancing naked and God came down and destroyed a whole bunch of them. He got real upset with those people. So that’s the place where we’re in origin in the Bible as I see it and I think we have shifted away from what God’s purpose has been.
Hope that helps. The final question, is there a process to be in that past? Would you, I mean, once you believe can you be baptized or do you have the gift of a process in order to? No, none of all. You see the example, 9th Jeffrey, you have the African Ethiopian Enoch and he saved and within minutes apparently they’ve baptized him. I want to say goodbye to Miami. Thank you all for tuning in down there and God bless you.
We’re excited about being on the air and we just had a call from Pompano. I’m going to say goodbye until tomorrow for you because you signed off early. Don’t forget us pray for us and if you can help my online call our 800 number Well Sean you can be baptized that As soon as you believe It’s a testimonial of how you were washed of your sin by the blood of Christ when you trusted him and now publicly You’re coming out to say I’ve been cleansed.
I’ve been washed the water is merely symbolic It’s a picture of what Christ did for you at the cross Alright, thank you Sean. That was Sean up in Lansing, Michigan. And we’re on there every day at 10 a.m. Eastern time as well as many other parts of the country. We’re on line now to go to Gary in Largo and Gary. Welcome to my morning. Gary, you’re on the island. Hi, Hank. Hi, Gary. Good morning. My question, I have a couple of questions.
A couple weeks ago we were studying about Zachariah 14 about the day of the Lord and how he’ll gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle. But in verse 3 it says, then shall the Lord go forth and fight against those nations as when he fought in the day of battle. What is that as when he fought in the day of battle? When is that? I believe that is talking about when God destroyed the Egyptian army. And he’s of It was a picture of the world, the Pharaoh was a picture of the Antichrist, and what happened then was a small picture of what would happen in the end days when God would come back and this time destroy, not just Egypt, but all the nations of the earth that come against Jerusalem, and Christ would set up his kingdom, and the Antichrist will be defeated and taken
out of the way. Well, we’re coming up on our break time. We’re going to take a break and come back and do a second and a half hour of Bible. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. England Striman. It’s great to be with you. Thanks again for tuning in today to buy a blind. And we’re here every day Monday through Friday on the air, but also in the archives of our website, you can catch us 24-7, anytime a day or night, wherever you might be on the planet. You can tune us in. And by the way, if you have friends or missionaries loved ones or family in any part of the world.
If they can get online on the internet, they can catch Bible and radio, Bible and television, and they can get our Bible and worship services as we broadcast right out of here from Calvary Community Church in Tampa where I pastor. And you can watch those worship services. There’s a year of them sitting there in archive, you can catch the live service on Sunday morning if you need at 11 a.m. Click on the camera on the home page of BibleLineMinistries.org.
At the beginning of our website we have a seven minute video on how to be saved and there’s a little note to the right of that that you can add that to your website. If you’d like many people have done that, many churches have done that, they want to get people saved and they put that seven minute video which is just a presentation of how to become saved and you’re welcome to put that on your website free of charge.
We’ll help you if you can’t figure out how to do it but the instructions are right there. Click on that right side of the video and you’ll find how to do that. We also hope that you’ll check out our website and look at our online bookstore. Don’t forget also the Bibleline needs your help financially as well as your prayers and you can give on the online bookstore on our website but also you can call in here and give a gift by a credit card over the phone and or you can ask when I want to be mailed to you with our address on it and mail gift into Bibleline.
But we thank God for all of you who have given and do give and because of you we’re able to continue to be on the air. God bless everyone of you who give and support Bibleline in prayer and in financial help. We are excited about people getting saved on this program. We get letters from jails around the country where prisoners are listing and we’re excited about letters from them that they get saved and they start little Bible studies and they lead other prisoners to Christ.
What a wonderful ministry we have by radio reaching right into the jails and reaching into homes reaching into cars and trucks and buses and in offices. The Lord is good in using Bible and to reach in and touch people’s lives and this is happening around the world. Well we have to go back and do the second half hour Bible and so keep your radio tuned right where it is as we rejoin stations that have been on break and here we go with Bible and to.
Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lynch from a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lynch from… Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bible Ann and we’re coming to you live. From Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. We’re on the pastor and we look forward to meeting you. If you can never get a chance to combine CS, this Sunday would be ideal because we have a dinner following the morning service at lunch and you’re welcome to stay for the service and then join us for dinner and bring your guests, bring your family.
You are deputized to bring anybody you want and we look forward to seeing you this Sunday. It’s a great Sunday to come. If you come from a business, you can kind of make it a day. If you want to come at 9.15, you can join my adult Sunday school class that I teach. Then you can stay for the worship service at 10.30, and then stay for the lunch after that, and then try to make it a nice day and you can head on home.
You’re welcome. That’s this Sunday, the third Sunday of April. Every month we try to do a third Sunday dinner. It’s a great time to bring guests and bring family, and you’re welcome to come and bring your family, your Bible, your appetite, and stay for the 1030 service and join us for the lunch that is following. And by the way, God bless all of you who helped us last week. We met our goal. God bless all of you. It was close, but we made it with a little bit over, and that was wonderful.
So God bless all of you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for your participation. And by the way, of course, the needs of Bible and continue. And we hope that you would continue to support Bible and faithfully every month. And if you haven’t given yet to Bible and it would be great if you would jump in here and help us by calling the 800 number and leaving a gift by credit card or calling and asking for an unvote to be sent mailing a gift to Bible and God bless you though.
Thank you so much for all of you who gave. I know some of you gave psychophysically. God bless you and thank you for standing with us and keeping Bible and going. We have Gary still waiting here. We had to cut Gary off because of the break, but Gary, we’re back with you. Yeah, how are you doing? Just continuing in Jesus and He comes back with His Saint, but my question is in verse six and seven and it says, and it shall come to pass in that day that the light shall not be clear nor dark, but it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord not day nor night, but it shall come to pass that at evening time it shall be light.”
What does that mean? Apparently, we’re going to have a lot more light on the planet at that time, and even the nights will be somewhat lighted, I guess. Nobody really knows for sure what that means, but I think it means basically that Christ be here and he’s the light of the world spiritually but also I think that there will be more physical light around the world and the day and in the night and this could be a beautiful time and the whole earth will be blossoming according to Isaiah and other prophets like a rose the deserts will blossom and there’ll be water and streams in the desert and apparently it’s gonna be a wonderful time of peace on earth could rotary men no wars and Christ the rule over the whole as king as it says in verse 9 there and it’s going to be great.
So the shall be known, it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord not day nor night. Well this day was made for him. You know even as the seventh day back in the recreative week was the day of rest, it was the day the Lord rested. This is going to be a day for the Lord himself and so it’s his day and it’s called the day of the Lord and it’s a thousand year day. So I believe that that’s really what it’s talking about.
This is his day and he’s been waiting for this day and he’s been looking forward to coming back just as much as we look forward to him coming. And this is going to be a grand day and the whole earth will rejoice at his presence in the earth of blossoming and the bud and the earth will be delivered in the curse and the dead will have been given the resurrection bodies and it’s a special time, no doubt that God has planned and we’re finally approaching that right now.
Okay, great. I’m just… I haven’t looked up that word. We’ll have to look it up and see what it means by that. But apparently there is no real distinction between day and night. Like it’s kind of a… I imagine a very gradual thing where it doesn’t even get really that dark at night. Might it have something to do maybe with the unsaved that are going to be in the millennium that they don’t still don’t see Christ. No, I don’t think it’s going to be that.
But I’ll have to take a look up the Hebrew words there. And there’s probably going to be some insight there by looking at that Gary. I’ll do the same. All right, thanks a lot. Bye-bye. And we now have Nate down in Bill Grades, Florida. And Nate, welcome to Bible Eye. You’re on the air. Nate? Hello, Nate. Are you there? I don’t think Nate is there anymore and he’ll have to call back. We have now Chris and Chris is in Tampa for it.
Chris, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yeah, Chris, you’re on the air. Good question. Actually, Hosea chapter 3 verse 5 defines a lot of times over the latter days as when the Jewish people would go back to their land and be established back in the land after a 2,000 year dispersion. And that’s right now. In fact, this year Israel is celebrating their 60th anniversary. They became a nation in 1948. Here we are the years of 2008. So they’re back.
When they’ve been there now, this year, sixty years, and we find that when the Jewish people go back to the land, as we see right now happening, that is the last space. That’s the major sign. Yes, thank you so much. My mother, quick question. I’m going to hang up after this is when someone got filled with dyes. When I heard that Jesus doesn’t judge them, but he developed to heaven or doRAFT the way into the Judgment Day. Well, what happens there, Chris, is that a believer at the moment of death is absent from the body, present with the Lord.
Second Corinthians 5, 8, they’re immediately present with the Lord. But at the time of the rapture when Christ comes back, he will judge those that have already died and those that are living, and that judgment is to determine the degree of reward for the believer. So the believer goes to heaven because he is a believer at the moment of death. He is absent from the body, present with the Lord, or if he is alive at the event of the rapture, he will be caught up alive in the air and his body will be transformed on the way up to meet the Lord and the clouds and forever will be with the Lord.
But that is the time also when he will reward believers based upon what they have done. So that’s really what is talking about. The unsaved also will wind up in hell because they’re unbelievers, but their works also will be judged in a separate judgment after the Millennial Kingdom of Christ and they’ll be assigned a degree of punishment and hell based upon their works. Thank you, Chris, and now we’re going to go to Judy in Smithville, Virginia, and Judy welcome to Bibleline You’re On There.
Hello. Hi, Judy. Hi. You’re On There. Oh, hi, how are you? Good. I guess I’d like to, of course I’d like to ask you maybe a couple of questions. Go for it. All right. First one is about being saved. When you are saved and you feel like you didn’t lead the right life according to it, should you or is it possible to do it again? Well, certainly you can just to make sure. But you become, say, by simply trusting in the finished work of Jesus at the cross.
He fully paid your sin debt at the cross. Along the cross, he said, it is finished, which means paid in full or full satisfaction received for your sin debt. When you trust that he died in your place and paid your sin debt in full, it was buried in rose again from the dead, duty God saved you. And then you have the written guarantee, and you really ought to write this one down. verse John 5, 13, that says, these things have I written unto you, Judy, or any in our audience that have believed on Christ.
It says, I’ve written this to you to believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may K-N-O-W. It doesn’t say hope or guess or perhaps or maybe. It says, you can know that you, H-A-V-E, have eternal life. So you can know that you have eternal life, and that occurs at the moment of belief. So if you’ve trusted Christ, Judy, you have eternal life right now and you’ll have it tomorrow next week next year, a hundred years now, a million years now and forever.
Let me ask you one more question. Sure. Now, a person who has been saved, this is somebody else I was concerned with, has actually done some really sinful and is continuing to do sinful things. about that person. Is that person can do whatever this person wants? Well, if they are saved, if they are saved, they’re saved by simply trusting Christ, but then they need to live for Christ if they don’t. They’ll still be saved if they are, but God will spank them.
You need to write down Hebrews 6, chapter 12, verse 6 to 11, Hebrews 12, 6 to 11 in particular where it says that when you are received in the God’s family as a son, because God loves you, he’ll discipline you as a father would. His link would shout. He’s not going to let you live as you please. If you’re not going to respond to that, he might even take you home to heaven early. But you’ll definitely say, but you will not be able to get away with it.
God will definitely be all over your case. I find this with brand new believers especially. They come to me and they say, you know, everything was going pretty smooth in my life until I trusted Christ. I said, what’s that evidence that you’re saved? Because now God is interfering in your life and he’s going to keep on you until you get your life straightened around where he can bless it because he can’t bless evil. So God as a good parent will be disciplining you in your life to get you on track so he can bless your life.
Because he wants to reward you. I do understand that. But this other person that I’m concerned with doesn’t seem to and is getting away with so many things, things that have been… Well, can you talk to the person about it? Do they listen to you? Because in Hebrews 12, 8. You know, this person thinks that I am crazy talking about, you know, it’s like that. You have to leave them in the hands of the Lord, but if they say the most good of heaven, Hebrews 12-8 in that passage I was talking to you about, says, if you be without chastisement or discipline, where of all of God’s children are partakers, it says you’re a bastard.
That’s a pretty strong word in the King James and not a son. So it means you’re illegitimately claiming to be a Christian when indeed you’re not. So if you live as you please and get away with it, God does not chase or discipline the unsafe person, only his children. When I got in trouble with a child, I would say when my dad called me and told me he was going to punish me, I would say, well, hey, I didn’t do this alone.
Let me bring all the neighbor and kids over and you take care of them too. And he said, no, I’m only going to take care of you. You’re my child. That’s right. And so I thought, oh man, these other kids are getting away with it and I got caught and my dad is going to punish me. But the same thing is true as a believer. God will discipline those that are his. But if you’re not a believer, he’s not going to interfere and you’ll wind up dying without knowing that there was a loving God who wanted to straighten your life out.
And I was chose to put it aside because of what he’s doing, adultery, other things. Yeah. Well, there’s… There’s consequences for that. And the law will get to his attention. When you are a believer, God will follow up in your life. When I got saved, I went off to University of Florida. That summer I got saved. I was just out of high school. And for that coming year I didn’t live for Christ at all and I was a secret believer.
But you know, God followed me up because I was a believer. He’d changed and worked on my life and finally brought me to my knees where I dedicated my life all alone in my dorm room. And as a Lord, I’m not going to fight you. I’m going to serve you. And I’ve been doing it ever since. He follows up those that are really his and I really knew God was on my case. I know he does with me because if I even feel I do something wrong, I know I’m going to hear from him and I do every time.
There you go. That’s the evidence you’re saved. And if you’re an unbeliever, he doesn’t interfere at all. So he may not be a believer and maybe he may be unsafe. We just don’t know. I don’t keep the lands with a life. a life but well yeah okay well we’ll just have to pray for that person thank you to you please thank you so much okay thank you Judy that was Judy up in Virginia and now we’re gonna go to brother atwell in the from the sasa Florida here brother atwell how you doing good morning how you doing I’m doing pretty good how I’m doing good.
I wanted it Paulson’s men have become weaklands and will not stand up to the true word of God through the women to run the show. And women were the big hat for our churches, you know, but they were the big old hatful, son, is. Then you got the young folks, they’re coming their own son. Sunday with the young folks there, but coming there wearing their blame, they got all the big chains and they got all the big stuff on them.
And then out there after they get away, they go back out to selling the dope. And then you got the ones out there, you know, you got the epeminids. They come in there, you got the homosexuals in there. And nobody says anything, they don’t want to offend any plane because they know that they’ll close the churches down. So they, they, they, other words, sin, crap in. That’s the theme in today’s churches, sin, crap in. That’s why churches are do nothing, churches, and they continue to do nothing, McCall.
So they love, they love the world, and they love God. Well, I’m afraid that you’re absolutely right, and we need Godly men who will lead the church. and expose truth to people from God’s Word and be seeing people come to know Christ as Savior and then also teach them how to live the Christian life and how to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. Brother I agree with you, we’re in the last days and I think that’s exactly what the Bible describes what we’d see in the latter days in our churches and we need to pray for God be pastors, God be leaders and people that will stand up for the Word of God in and thank you so much well we don’t have robert down in britain in for a robert welcome to bible and you’re on I asked you a question, quick question and then now
I got I have a hard time understanding on the relations five first four and I’ll hang up and all this. Thank you. God bless. Okay. but i don’t get a little bit of the place is five four you know this is a first that is a dress to unsaved people it says uh… uh… and i’m turning it right now the relationship to five of this war it’s uh… address to those who are trying to keep the law to be saved and not those that are being saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ and his finished work at the cross.
It says here, and I’m almost there in Ephesians, our Revelations chapter 5 and verse 4, it says, Christ is become of no effect unto you. And then it tells us to whom it is addressed, it says, Whosoever of you are justified by what? By the law, that’s works. And then it says here you are fallen from grace. And what that means is that they have fallen away from the grace by which we can become saved. If we are putting our trust in Jesus Christ, we’re saved by grace through faith in Christ.
But if you’re attempting to be saved by the law, then you are rejecting grace and you are fallen away from grace. It’s not talking about a saved person being lost, it’s talking about a lost person not being saved. If you notice in verse 4 it talks about you, you, you, you, you, and in verse 5 it changes to we, we, we, we. So in verse 4 we have unsaid people, those that are trying to be saved by the law, that Christ will count nothing for and they’ll go to hell.
They are fallen from grace, but verse 5 says we, in contrast to you in verse 4, we through the Spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness, how? faith. So the writer of Galatians includes himself and that we in verse 5. And as he speaks, he addresses those in verse 4 that he says, you, you, you, he says Christ has become of no effect in the you who. You who are trying to be justified by works, about the law. You are fallen from grace.
But we notice the contrast. The believer is through the spirit waiting for the expectation of righteousness by faith or simply by trusting Christ as Savior. So, verse 4 is talking to the unsaved, verse 5 is talking to the same, and that’s the difference. If you try to be saved by works, you are rejecting grace, you are falling away from grace, and a believer can’t be lost. It’s not talking about a believer being lost. It’s not about an unsaved person who never becomes saved because he falls away from the grace that brings salvation.
In Titus 11, as a great verses, as the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. So Grace is the conduit to bring salvation to a person. And if you reject Grace and try to be saved by works, then you don’t have the salvation come to you and you don’t get saved if you’re not saved. Hopefully that helps Robert and thank you for that call. We’re now going to go to Matthew in Sarasota. Matthew in Sarasota.
Welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Good morning. Sure. Good question. And the answer is they were saved the same way we are by believing that Christ would come and die on the cross to pay for sin. If you listened earlier in the program, we talked about how Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture. The Old Testament tells about the death of the burial and resurrection of Christ. The name Jesus comes from the Hebrew Yeshua. Yeshua occurs in the Old Testament about 132 times.
In the name of Jesus is there in the Hebrew, if you translated that to English it would be Jesus and you could put that name Jesus a hundred and thirty-two times in the Old Testament text. But Peter gives you your answer, Matthew. If you have a pencil write this verse down, Hebrews 1043. Peter says to him that is to Jesus or Yeshua, give all the prophets witness, the prophets of the writers of the Old Testament. He is saying that all the Old Testament writers spoke about Christ that through His name, the name of Jesus or the Hebrews Yeshua, whosoever believeth in Him that is would trust in Him, Yeshua or Jesus shall receive the remission of their sins.
So here Peter tells us in one great verse, Acts 10.43, that everybody in the Old Testament was saved by belief in Christ alone as the only means of their salvation. Dulation 3.8 says the scripture foreseen that God would justify the nations through faith preached before the gospel and Abraham. Abraham heard the gospel, believed the gospel and became saved by the gospel. So hopefully that helps a little bit. That’s just a little bit of some of the verses we could quote to you.
Okay, Cass, you have one more question? Sir, go ahead. Well, exactly. And from the time he and until he became 30 he worked in his father’s carpenter shop in Nazareth. And it wasn’t until he was 30 that he went then and John the Baptist baptized him. According to the Old Testament picture type when a priest became 30 years of age he would be totally immersed in a baptism and that marked the beginning of his ministry and marked his consecration to the Lord.
And so Christ, when he was 30, was baptized, and that’s when he began his ministry before that he did not preach. Before that he did not do miracles. And the first miracle was done after the baptism by John the Baptist, and that was the wedding at but otherwise his ministry didn’t begin until then and so not much is recorded about his life. Okay, thank you. You’re welcome. Thank you, Matthew, down in Sarasota, Florida. We don’t have Gary. This time, Gary is in Bradenton, Florida, and Gary welcome to Bible Aid.
Good morning, Dr. Moose Jump. Good morning. In Matthew 25. Hi, I’m Chris 25-30. I’m the terrible of the talents. Does that servant lose his salvation because he does nothing with this talent? And how does that apply to works? I’m really confused about why he gets thrown into other darkness there. That’s a good question and the answer is the third guy is not saved at all. First of all, I’m not going to say that First of all, you would notice by just interpreting a difficult verse in a lot of a clear one.
That’s a good rule of interpretation. And in John 637, Jesus says, Him that cometh to me, I will know Catwise cast out. So since Christ makes a promise which He cannot break, obviously, because God can’t lie and God cannot break His word, Christ will never cast out a believer. So we know that from John 637. So this guy is cast into outer darkness which I believe is hell. And so therefore he can’t be a believer. But now let’s look more carefully at the text.
see also that he’s an unbeliever. It says in verse 21 and 23 about the first two fellows, they are called good and faithful. Two things are in mind there. They’re good. That means they’re a believer because the Bible says in Romans 3, 12, there’s none to do with good, no not one. So how then can anybody be called good when the Bible says that no one does Let’s get it going. The answer is when you trust Christ, the goodness or righteousness of God is credited to the believers’ account.
So you’re considered good. And then he’s faithful. Now, if you read carefully the verse, he enters into heaven because he’s good, but he’s then rewarded with ruling power because he’s faithful. The last guy is Paul wicked, which means he’s not a believer. He stands before God in his own righteousness, which is wickedness. And not only that, he’s slothful. So he’s lost because he’s an unbeliever. He’s wicked. He’s also a side of the degree of punishment and help because of his slothfulness.
Gary, I hope that helps a little bit. We have to run on a time. But get back to me tomorrow if you still didn’t get it. Okay, thank you, sir. Okay, thank you for calling in.
