Providing real answers to an ever searching world. Got a question? Dial toll free at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here’s the host of Bibleline, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Well, good morning and welcome to Bibleline great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast. We look forward to being with you every day Monday through Friday as we come to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church.
Well, I’m the pastor and we’re located right next to the Tampa International Airport. Easy to find from any direction wherever you’re coming from. All the major roads head right in toward the airport. So you’ll be able to find this. We’re just on the west side, we’re a block west of the Tampa International Airport. I feel like we’re so close sometimes I can reach out and slap those airplanes. We’re directly west of the main north south runway, one block to the west of the Tampa International Airport.
Come by and see us. You ever get a chance to come into town and you come in, we’re right next to the airport. Take that extra minute, swing by and knock on our door and say hello. Our resource centers open every day till about 4.30 in the afternoon, eastern standard time. And of course you can always come and visit our worship services on Wednesday and Sunday. And this coming Tuesday will teach the last two hours of our class on 2nd Peter.
That’s right. We have been studying 2nd Peter and we finished now 8 class hours and this coming Tuesday will finish class 9 and 10. If you’re a driving business, you’re welcome to come and sit in the class for the last two class hours and be my guest. We’re having a great time and you might want to order that series. We have first Peter already done 10 hours of teaching and second Peter will be available after next Tuesday as you can order it on CD or DVD.
That’s right. If you want to order the DVD, you can actually watch and listen to the class as though you were right there in the classroom or you can order the CDs and get the full class and you can use that to facilitate a Bible study, maybe a Sunday school class or maybe your personal study or family study. We had a gentleman come in this morning and said he’s right now listening to the class we taught on parables. A lot of people really get parables messed up because parables were not written to reveal truth but parables were written to conceal truth.
That’s right. Jesus said he spoke in parables so that seeing they would not see and hearing they would not hear less than any time they should be converted and essentially be forgiven and parables are written actually to hide or disguise or conceal truth, not reveal it. Most people don’t know that. If you ask the average person why did Christ speak in parables they’ll usually say, well he was trying to tell a story to make him a very clear illustration of the points he was making and that’s not true.
Not true and if you thought that then you need to go back and take a fresh look at your Bible again. Most people don’t read their Bible, they take whatever they have heard, bits and pieces here and there and just put together some kind of a picture of what the Bible says that many times it’s wrong and that was true of me. I was raised in church. I was confirmed and baptized, homogenized, pasteurized, capsized, simonized and I didn’t know a thing about my Bible until I got saved at 18 and then I realized, whoa, so many things I was taught in my childhood just didn’t match up with the Bible at all.
So you might want to call in and get one of these series, the teaching on parables or the teaching on the Holy Spirit or the teaching on the Rapture or the teaching on the in-time events or the different books of the Bible as we have finished John’s Gospel, the book of Hebrews, the book of Romans, the book of Jude, the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel and on, on, on. These are available for you to enjoy and maybe use to teach others.
I think it will be great. We’re excited about being with you today, and by the way, this program is streamed at the internet, so you can go to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org, and you’ll catch the program live right now, but you can go there over the weekend and catch us any time of day and night on the internet. A lot of people like that because you can fast forward, you can back up, you can pause, you have your Bible open on the table, and take your time.
and a lot of people learn a great deal that way by the way our Sunday sermons are there if you don’t have a church at home and you’re looking to attend why not join our service at eleven o’clock sunday morning By going to BibleLineMinistries.org and click on the camera. If you do that at 11 shortly thereafter, as soon as the message begins, the audio and the video will come up on your screen. And by the way, if you go into the archives, there’s a year’s worth of messages sitting there for you.
And if you right-click on top of the screen when it’s up and go to Zoom, you can get a full screen. And if you have a very large monitor or you can send me a link to the website. that signal to your TV set, you can have a huge screen presentation of the morning worship service here at Calvary Community Church. I’d love to have you join us at Sunday mornings on the Internet. You can catch the TV programs, the radio programs and the Internet programs.
The Sunday morning worship services are there for you. We’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes and then we’ll come back and catch our callers. call in if you like today, 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Somebody brought up the topic this week on the Radio Easy Believism, and what is easy believerism? Usually the phrase easy believerism is a slam against those who teach salvation is not by human works, but by faith alone in Jesus Christ. It is clear that the Scriptures teach that salvation is received by faith only.
It is the finished work of Christ, that there is no human involvement, but to receive it. And it says in Ephesians, by grace, by mercy, are you saved in faith in Jesus Christ and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any mention, boast That’s Ephesians 2, 8, and 9. And so salvation definitely is a gift and it is not a works and it is not of yourself and it is by mercy that you receive through faith in trusting Jesus Christ as your Savior.
Well, easy-believism is a way of saying that salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone is just too easy, just too easy. It’s too simple, they say. Those who use this phrase easy-believeism are usually saying that there must be more to salvation than just faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that Satan would use this fact that the gospel message is a very simple message to the saved people. It says in 2 Corinthians 11, 3, but I fear, lest by any means as the serpent Satan beguiled Eve that was Adam’s wife through his subtlety, so your mind should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
So, one of the most common objections to the true gospel is it’s too simple, and Satan uses the fact that it’s simple because you’re not to believe. Isn’t it amazing? Satan is a clever devil. changes the true gospel and the account of it message by addition or subtraction. In other words, Satan adds human works and human effort to the planet’s salvation in order to make the message of none effect. First Corinthians 1, 17 Paul makes this remarkable statement. He says that he doesn’t flower up the message.
He doesn’t embellish it with fancy human words, lest the cross of Christ be made of none effect None effect. So obviously Paul was very conscious of his wording, of his terminology, lest he would add to or subtract from this wonderful message and make it of none effect. That means zero effect. That means if you change the message, it becomes a message that is a curse. It becomes a message that will not save. And that’s what I heard for the first 18 years of my life in my church.
I heard a message that was not capable of saving me, and although I wanted to be saved, I was told a false method of being saved. And it wasn’t until I was 18 that I learned that Jesus paid it all, and all I needed to do was trust in the finished work that Christ performed for me at the cross to not believe the record that God gave in the Scriptures makes it null and void. Let me quote to you, 1 John 5-10, it says, he to believe it’s on the Son of God, hath the witness in himself.
He to believe it’s not God hath made him a liar. And then it says, because, because, because, because, because, because, he believe it’s not the record that God gave of his Son. The first time, five, ten, great verse. If you don’t believe the record that God gave in the scriptures concerning Jesus Christ, then you’re calling God a liar. Why? It says because you believe not the record that God gave of his son, to add just one human work to the final salvation.
Would place a person before God without any mercy, without any grace, with no salvation. They would not be saved. It says in Romans 11, 6, if by grace, which means unmerited favor, means mercy. If by grace then it is no more of works, otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works then it is no more of grace, otherwise work is no more work. You might say what in the world did you just say? Well, it sounds a little confusing, but it’s saying that grace and works are opposite and you can’t mix them.
like because it’s daytime right now, it can’t be nighttime. Otherwise daytime wouldn’t be daytime, but if it were nighttime then it couldn’t be daytime or nighttime wouldn’t be nighttime. What we’re saying here is it can’t be daytime and nighttime at the same time. Can you follow that? Well the Bible says if it’s by grace that it can’t be by works otherwise grace isn’t grace. But if it be by works then it’s not by grace otherwise work is not work.
get mixed up to their opposite. And so if you attempt to be saved by any works, you’re not going to have it in grace. And that means you’re not going to enter heaven. You’ll not be saved. The Bible tells us by grace are we saved through faith. And whenever that’s presented in the Bible, guess what? The Bible is very clear to exclude works. Let’s go to Ephesians 2, 8, just quoted a moment ago, and you’ll see that. It says, 4 by grace are you save through faith in Jesus Christ.
The next phrase says, no works and that not of yourselves and that not of yourselves and that not of yourselves. You see, whenever there’s grace, there’s no works. And so God says, we’re saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. And then it says, and not of yourself and not of yourself and not of yourself because that is works and you can’t have grace and works at the same time. Then it says, it is the gift of God in Ephesus 2.8 and then immediately following the Bible’s excludes works again and it says not of works not of works not of works not of works but a standing man should boast or brag.
So whenever you have grace the Bible excludes works isn’t that amazing and yet it’s amazing to me that how many people just don’t get it they don’t see it in the Bible and they slam the gospel of Jesus Christ by saying that’s easy to believe in them and they’re really trying to slam the gospel and try to slip in the fact that you have to add more to trusting Christ than just trusting Christ and therefore they had works in the final salvation.
And guess what? They make the final salvation void and if you add any work you won’t have any grace and that means you’ll go to hell. So when we talk about believing, we’re not talking about mental ascent either. We’re not talking about mental ascent to a historical fact. When we talk about saving faith or belief, we’re talking about a personal trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as the one who gave his life on the cross of Calvary was buried in the Rose again from the dead.
The word belief comes from the Greek word vistuo, and it means to trust to rely upon, put your confidence in the restaurant’s weight upon. And when a person puts his trust in Jesus Christ, he is saved. Let me give you my little illustration. Let’s say if you walk out on a dock and you find there’s a little small boat tied to the dock, and you step over from the dock with one foot and put one foot on the little boat, are you trusting the boat to hold you up?
No, you’re not. You still have one foot on the dock. Let’s say that you put both feet on the little boat, but you still are holding on to the piling that supports the dock. Are you trusting the little boat? No, you’re not. You’re still holding on to the dock. Let’s say that you take both feet and put them on the boat and you take one hand and cut it loose from the dock, but you’re still holding on to the piling with one hand.
Are you trusting the little boat? The answer is no. Let’s say you take both feet and both hands off of the dock, but you still have your hands on a rope tied to the dock. Are you trusting the little boat? No. Non-pay you can all the lines, pay you can all support to the dock, so you fully and completely put your trust on the little boat. You’re not trusting the boat. And unless you cut all ties, the all works and all effort that you might put forth and simply trust Jesus Christ alone.
You’ve never really understood what it is to be saved. To be saved, you have to cut all ties. Totally, completely, put your trust or rest your weight upon Jesus Christ as the complete payment for your sin. And when you do, God saves you. And it might sound like easy believerism, but guess what? That’s the only way you can be saved. It’s hard on God’s part. He made the provision Christ had to die and shed His blood. Our part is easy.
We simply receive what Christ did, just like the dying thief on the cross. He simply believed on Christ in the last seconds of his life, and Jesus said, today, those who will be with me in paradise. He didn’t say, I’m sorry. You know you need to unite with the church. And that looks like it’s going to happen. I’m sorry, but you need to be water baptized. And I look like we’re going to be able to pull that one off.
And I’m sorry, dying thief. It looks like you can’t make restitution for evil deeds, and you can’t live a changed life. You’re dying, and it looks like you’re headed for hell. No, no, no, no, no. The dying thief was saved because of what Christ did for him, not because of what the dying thief would do for Christ. And there’s nobody saved any differently than that dying thief. When you place your trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ, God saves you and saves you eternally.
I’m Dr. Englund, this is my blind. We’re going to go to the phone lines. It’s Friday. And by the way, in the Tampa Bay area, we’re on seven days a week. So you can hear us tomorrow morning, Saturday morning, Sunday morning, and then back again live on Monday morning. And if you have internet, you can do basically the same thing because you can hear us 24 seven wherever you might be on the planet Earth 156 countries have logged in so far.
You might want to tell your friends and family in other countries about Bible line. I hope you will. Well the Ministry, the Bible and the Ministry addresses Bibleline Ministries at ORG. That’s our website Bibleline Ministries at ORG. Check it out. The phone number if you want to call it in is 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We have Nancy in St. Petersburg. Nancy, welcome to Bibleline. You are on the air. Good morning. I’ve heard you speak of Prettorism and what I’m wondering is that the same thing is replacement theology and is that a serious doctrinal era?
Those two things yeah, they go together and it is really pretty serious. It’s to say that There is no rapture there is no tribulation. There is no second coming. There is no millennium They got us through with Israel. There is no kingdom that he’ll establish where he’ll be king over the Jews that they just This does sprinkle the pixie dust of metaphoricalism upon the Bible and so what it says doesn’t it doesn’t really mean that. And so yeah, I think it’s a terrible tragedy that people buy into that.
But they just don’t buy it, believe the Bible. What does that word come? Is that the same thing as replacement theology than you said? Well, it goes hand in hand. It really means that it’s already happened that the book of Revelation is already a history. Oh, Proverbs does. Yes, and replacement theology, of course, says that God, as a result of what happened with Christ coming back in the 80s, 70s, what they teach that God was through with Israel then.
He judged Israel, cast them out of the land, and they reject the promises that He will bring them back into the land. We should avoid a church that would teach them that’s a serious, like even, a serious is denying the duty of Christ and their salvation. absolutely i think so because i guess what churches that believe in preters and uh… and replacement theology uh… have an anti-semitical uh… viewpoint because uh… for example the press return church you use a several years ago uh…
in return to the international convention voted uh… to boycott all companies that do business of israel and sided with the policy in authority that’s a tragedy here’s christians turning against israel When God promises that those of blesses will be blessed and those of curses will be cursed, and are they asking for a curse upon their denomination? Oh, oh my gosh. Oh, that’s terrible. Yeah, it is. But so when the church was asked that question then? Absolutely. You should ask if they are.
Most of the denominations started the 5th century with Augustine, and the Romans have a church care doctrine to this very hour, and then the churches that broke away during the reformation, most all those denominations, the Presbyterians, the Methodists, the Luthers and so on, all believe in replacement theology. out of there. Well, we’re not supposed to judge, but does that mean they’re not saved? Well, it doesn’t mean they’re not saved, but certainly they are falling in the Satan’s hand because God loves Israel and Satan hates Israel and whenever you say, well, God’s done with Israel and that there is no future for Israel.
That’s not true. Let me just read an interesting verse to you and that is a lot of them we can turn to. But in Ezekiel, this is a very good verse. This was at the end of the Babylonian captivity at the close of the Old Testament. And here God says in verse 25 of Ezekiel 37, and they the Jewish people showed 12 in the land that I’ve given unto Jacob my servant. Remember his name was changed to Israel he had 12 friends.
Where in your fathers have dwelt and they so dwell therein, even they and their children and their children’s children it says here in my Bible forever. uh… so to say that they won’t be back in that land they want to enjoy these promises that guys made is the is really the disbelief of bible yeah i heard that they israel doesn’t even occupy all the uh… to fair really their land goes way up to seria and and all of them all absolutely because it is all serious all the way up to the Euphrates river in iraq and down to the Nile river down in egyptin so they’ve never fully possessed all that land but they will i believe that they will when christ comes back they’ll have all that land all-state and um…
i’m not in the way because i can’t stand the ones that have allowed music i don’t know if they’re i guess they’re safe but i don’t know i just have a well you know the only saying that and you know uh… this is a part of the new wave of uh… of uh… so-called reaching the world they want to drive about the older established peoples that they can bring in this change and they are attracting people with the music and I really believe it’s wrong.
I think it’s, you know, when you read about the first worship leader back in the Old Testament, it was Aaron, the brother of Moses. And while Aaron was down below with the people and Moses was up in the mountain, he led them in worship and praise and they sang and they got naked. made a false idol, a golden calf, and so he took him away from God. I think the worship leaders are taking people away from the scriptures and away from the two worship, and I think it’s scary.
Okay, well, we’ll pray for you. Okay, well, thank you very much Dr. Heimers. You’re welcome. Thank you for calling in. Bye-bye. We are now going to go to Jimmy in Tampa, Florida. Jimmy welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello. Hi Jimmy. Hi. You have a question? You’re on the air. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Yes, yes. My question is this, in Revelation 22, 18, and 19. Sir? I’m right here listening. Go ahead. Go ahead. Yeah. Those of us who say you shouldn’t add to or take away from the Bible.
What is your question? Well my question is this. Now, Bunnies, the different translations, the NAB, the NASB version, and all those other such… Are they doing the blatant distortion of the Word of God? Absolutely. Absolutely. The new American Standard Bible for example in John 647, a great verse that I love in the The King James says, fairly, fairly, I say unto you, he to believeth on me has everlasting life. In the New American Standard it says, he who believes has eternal life.
It doesn’t tell you on whom you are to believe. It just takes out the most important two words, he to believeth on me has everlasting life. It’s gone. God, say goodbye to Miami. Miami, thank you for tuning in today. We’re excited about being on the air down there and keep listening and praying for Bible line and if you can help us call in and give a gift would you to keep us on the air in my ami and you can do that by credit card over the phone.
We’re back to Jimmy here but Jimmy the NIV is the worst. It drops 44 verses in its entirety, in their entirety. We have the NIV quiz you can call and ask us to send it to you free of charge and if you take the quiz using the NIV you’ll get a zero because it’s the quiz is totally on the verses that have been dropped. That’s an eye opener. I tell you a lot of people that have taken that quiz said I’m getting rid of my NIV because they’re missing scripture.
Good. Okay. That’s good. That kind of helps me. I have another question. Have you ever heard of Mary Ann Williamson? I’m not sure if I have. Okay, she is speaking about everyday grace. But she was speaking about heaven. Well, obviously you can’t obtain grace by works because that’s a contradiction. We just covered the verse a minute ago. Revelation 11-6, if it’s by grace, it’s not of works. Otherwise, grace is a grace. But if it be a works that is not of grace, otherwise work is a work.
So you can’t mix the two. Okay. They’re opposites. Okay. These women teachers don’t get it right. I hate to I don’t want to offend you ladies out there You’re pretty bright and we need you but they’re not to be preachers because they have a tendency to think with their emotions And not with their factual part of their brain and and therefore they are more easily deceived and go off in the bad doctor Okay, thank you. You’re welcome and thank you for calling and we’ve got to go to break here It’s Bibleline.
We’re gonna be back We’ll do a second half hour and we’ll cover more of these exciting topics lots of people calling in lots of all fair questions It’s Friday and we want you to be a part of the whole thing and don’t forget in the Tampa Bay area here at Saturday and Sunday As well and we’ll be back live on Monday and in the meantime you go to the internet BibleLineMinistries.org and catch it all 24-7. Here we go. We’re going to take our break.
We’ll be right back. Don’t change that radio dial. I’ll be back in just a minute. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. 7-1. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Inglisserman. It’s great to be with you today. Thanks again for tuning in to the broadcast. We appreciate you and all of our listeners and look forward to being with you each and every day. This is Friday and we’ll be back again live on Monday.
If you haven’t helped by BlindLately, we need your help. Just stay on the air. It’s really, we are just unable to, we have no other source. We’re totally dependent upon you, the listener, to keep us going. So if you’re enjoying the program, why not invest in this program? And in getting the gospel out, we are hearing from people all the time that are getting saved by listening to the Bible and program. And we hope that you’re enjoying it as well.
I just got a letter here from Patty and she says, I thought I was saved in 1975, but since listening to Pastor Hank, I found out my salvation was not a sure thing. Now bless God I know the truth and I’m set free from all the foolishness I have been taught. Thank you so much Pastor Hank for telling the truth to everyone. I will continue to support you and your ministry till the Lord calls us up to heaven. Bless you in all those who give their time to be there helping you.
Patty, thank you Patty. We hear lots of reports like this, people getting saved in jails, people getting saved in their offices, in their cars, in their homes, and on the internet, and we’re excited. And this is a great, great opportunity for you to invest in eternity where you’re investing in something that God is blessing. Why not be a part? You can call and give a gift by credit card over the phone right now. You can also call an astronaut board to be sent and send your gift in by mail.
But in any case, if you’ll help us, that would be great because this is the only way we can stay on the air. We have to have our listeners support us or we will not be able to be on the air. Thank you for tuning in today. If you’re interested in any of our resources, we have, again, some great commentaries, some very inexpensive, but we have some sets that are terrific. If you’re going to have any kind of serious Bible study, you’ll want to have some good resources in your library.
We’ve got the Schofield Bible which is right up front. Then maybe a good Bible dictionary. We’ve got about three or four. You might want to get a good cut of coordinates. We have the strongest in coordinates. We now have the new large print edition. Then you might want to get a couple of good commentaries. We have the J. Vernon McGee 5-volume commentary for a gift of 100. That’s half what it retails for in the Christian bookstore. And you can also get the Jameson-Prossett Brown commentary.
That one has a comment on every scripture in the Bible. And that one retails for about 160 and we have it for gift of 100. These are great additions to your library. Plus, many more things. Call and ask for a resource sheet to be sent and we’ll send it out and you can order over the phone or on the internet or directly by coming by. We’re going to do the second part. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr.
Lynch from a question? You can. Pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break, and this is Bibleline. I’m excited to be with you today. It’s Friday and we’ll be back again on Monday live. But in the Tampa Bay area you can hear us throughout the whole weekend on the stations here in the area and that’s at 10 o’clock on Saturday and Sunday you can hear us.
And if by the way, if you have internet, you can catch us all week long anyway because you can catch us on the internet 24 seven as often as you like. Got a nice letter here from Patty. And she writes into me and says, I thought I was saved in 1975, but since listening to Pastor Hank, I found out my salvation was not sure. Now bless God, I know the truth and am set free from all the foolishness I’ve been taught.
Thank you so much, Pastor Hank, for telling the truth to everyone. I will continue to support you and your ministry till our Lord calls us up to heaven. Bless you and all those who give their time to be there helping you, Patty. Thank you, Patty, and we’re excited about hearing from people that are getting saved. Maybe thinking they were saved prior to, but all of a sudden realizing that, whoa, they were trusting in their works, they’re trusting in things that they’re doing in addition to Christ, and it’s not really the true gospel.
And that’s too bad. We have so many things here to help you in learning. A fellow come by this morning said he’s listening to the parable series that I taught, and you You can notice that series on parables. Most people get parables wrong. Most people think Christ book and parables to make things clear. Not true, not true, not true. The Bible says that Christ book and parables to conceal truth rather than reveal truth. And therefore, parables can be misinterpreted easily.
And you need to watch out. You need to learn how to interpret a parable. And this series will help you do that. Christ said, I speak comparable so that seeing they will not see and hearing they will not hear, lest at any time they would understand and their sin should be forgiven them, God spoke in parables to conceal truth from those who aren’t really seeking truth and they will be blinded rather than enlightened. And if you seek the truth, though you’ll find the truth and the Bible makes that clear.
Well we thank God for you our audience. You’re the ones who keep us on the air. You know without you we could not be on the air. We have no other means of support. I mean not any other means of support. And we’re out there with a big bark, but it’s because of you. And it’s because of the fact that we don’t pay any salaries. We have all volunteers. And we’re able to have a very lean, lean budget and accomplish a lot.
We’re excited about that. And you’re all a part of it. I believe that you need to be a wise investor. And you need to invest where you’re going to get the greatest benefit. It says over in the book of 2 John that if you are giving to a ministry whose message is wrong, God is going to hold you accountable and you will be partaker of their evil deeds. And according to the Bible it says in 2 John, verse 8, you will lose out all rewards you could have had.
In other words, it is a negative. If you give to a minister with a false message, guess what? of getting rewards, you’re going to come out negative. That’s scary, isn’t it? There are degrees of reward in heaven. Salvation is a gift, but rewards are based upon what we do. And so what you want to do is be careful to give your money where you know where it’s going, where the ministry is doctorly sound and that people are getting saved and being challenged and going forth into ministry.
And we hear it all the time. We have a fellow this past week has told us he’s going to go off to study to become a minister. And we’ve had several here lately that say that they want to go into minister, they’re planning to do that. And as a result of getting energized by learning the Bible from Bible, and they want to learn, they want to grow, they want to go, and they want to do all they can for Christ.
And that’s exciting. I believe that if you haven’t made your investments for the Lord that you would choose a good ministry and I’m recommending Bible on because I know that it’s hard to find today, doctorly sound ministries, that really care about the wording of what they say. And Paul was very concerned about his language, about his words, about how he presented everything because he says here Christ sent me to preach the gospel not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of net effect.
He’s not talking about of a little effect. But of no effect, in other words, if you add works to what Christ did and you’re not careful in your language when you present Christ, you might have been giving out a message that has no effect at all. It will not save anybody. And that is scary. Read 2 John. It says you need to look to yourself and be careful where you give so that you don’t lose out on your rewards as a believer and that if you support an organization or a group or ministry that has a a false message that you will then be partaker their evil deeds and you’ll suffer loss of rewards as a result.
Interesting. We’re going to go to our phone lines. The number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And we’re going to go to Dwight. And he’s in clear water. And Dwight, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Hank. I just wanted to give the fellow just called in, a heads up and all those who are listening about Lillian Williamson. She is 100% without a doubt new age. I’m with Rick Warren and Neil Donald Walsh, Barbara Marks Hubbard, and she touts pretty much as a new-aged Bible.
She recognizes that she’s a Christian. She recommends the course in miracles, jumped on big time. She’s had Williamson on her show several times. Trying to incorporate pretty much a universal religion here. And she’s including trying to inject Eastern religion in the quote, in her quote unquote new gospel. She claims that you can only be saved through personal atonement. One of the best sites. The best sites if somebody wants to do some research on this would be to go to Deborah Dombrowski’s site.
It’s called LighthouseTrailsResearch.com. And just punch in Wanson’s name and her search engine there. And you’ll come up with all kinds of stuff you won’t believe. But just want to give the heads up. She’s a dangerous woman. And she definitely corrupts the two gospel hands. Well, I appreciate that. You know, over Winfrey, I’ve heard her sing with her on lips that Jesus Christ is not the only way to heaven. There’s many ways to heaven and you can find your own way.
And that’s the part of this universal church that they’re trying to establish. It’s really a crazy world today with so many new belief systems. It’s hard to stay on top of it all. But thank you for bringing that information to us and learning us to this lady. We’re going to go down to David in plant city Florida and David, welcome to Bible in here on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. How are you today? And I appreciate you taking my call.
Well, thank you, David. Good to hear. I got a comment and then I got a question. I just want to tell everybody don’t throw your NIV Bible away because it does have some good, you know, everything good has something bad and everything bad has something good Good, it has little titles and certain areas that help you find things in the Bible, so it’s good for at least that. You know if you can’t carry commentary or something will you? Well, you know, I keep, I even have a Joe’s Witness Bible right here, and it’s, you can’t get rid of all the truth.
I don’t hear what Bible it is, and the witnesses have their Bible, which they try to do with the truth. And guess what? The NIVA and the Joe’s Witness Bible are almost identical. Very little difference. But I have probably 40, 50 different kinds of Bibles, translations in my library for my benefit to learn. But I wouldn’t recommend them to anybody that are out there that are saved because it will mess you up if you read these verses that are perverted or changed or deleted from your Bible.
Thank you very much for calling in there, Dave, and we now have Don in St. Petersburg. Don, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Yeah, I just wanted to comment about my personal. I ended up with them and I could just go and that’s the kind of… That was a bad translation. It really means a wild ox. And the Scofield points it out in margin everywhere that occurs. It only occurs a couple of times in the Old Testament, but it was ported translate in 1611.
So there’s no perfect translation, but still I believe the King James is one of the better ones. Yeah, that’s why I got the… You know, there is a parallel. I don’t know if it’s still available, but I bought a number of years ago. It has 26 versions all in one Bible. And of course on the computer now you can get them with, I don’t know, 50, 100 different translations and compare them if you have time to do all that kind of stuff.
Yeah, I wouldn’t have that much time. It’s just overwhelming, you know, what’s available now, especially when you get these computer problems. And they have all these different translations available. available to you in there to compare. Are they very accurate to those who are all different? No, I don’t think so. No. A lot of them are one man deal and whenever you have something like that, generally speaking, you get their personal view of the Bible rather than a good translation.
But King James and many of them have a large committee. King James was done by 70 men and they all had to work on small portions and then they would compare and they basically had to have a vote among all of them for all the things that they did to approve it. Well, safety, when you get lots of people involved and I think they were a very contentious script that really did believe they came to the table with the premise that the Bible was God’s Word.
And some of these new translators now are done by unsafe corporations that order a new translation to be done and they really don’t have the integrity to say well I believe this is the word of God and we want to give it accurate rendering to the people they just are making a new in a new translation to have their own copyright. Yeah, well I’ve got several things on my computer, so I have Bible programs. That helps me a lot.
Okay Don, well thank you so much for your call. We now have David in St. Petersburg and David welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, I noticed why is it when a person like you, you take on all questions and you’ll debate them as long as you’re on the air and even after off the air. But when you go to some of these churches and they’ll say you’re cursed if you don’t die or you’re not even saved, unless you speak atoned and all that sound so nutty, even if you just are new to the Bible it sounds like that and sound like the story that God told of me, even as a layman.
I’m not going to layman, but anybody new coming into a church finds out that, you Now sooner or later you’re only a low octane Christian, if a person all just spray it tongues, or if you don’t thaw it, and you find out most of these churches have one thing to comment. The bastards living in some mansion, like this Reverend Wright or these other ones, they’re all turned out to be double-stated crooks about money. The best…
I mean, there are exceptions to the rule, like the one up there, the one that’s behind this button. But they won’t let anybody question their doctrine other than that person get painted with horns in the back of their head. And you’ll take on all comers. There’s a book, Winfness, there. Well… Well that’s why there aren’t too many question and answer shows out there because they’re not willing to expose themselves. We really don’t screen our calls here. Sometimes you can recognize that on the air because they say things that we sometimes wish they had said.
But we take them all on and we try to give it on us to answer from scripture to best we know how. And get people back into the Bible and get them studying it for themselves so that they can be able to do the same thing with their uh… constituency they can teach others with the bible says Yeah, they take some out because there’s a lot of people in the audience like playing hand and stuff. Well, that dollar dates are right there because it wouldn’t have gotten that big and the Lord not behind it.
I said, well, you know, we’ve got a lot of things that are big that doesn’t make it anything, have right anything to do with righteousness. Well, you’re absolutely right. You know, and the… the majority is not always right in fact in the days of no obviously only people believe it was coming flood in the majority were wrong and they drowned as a result i would like to go out there i think you know appreciate that call and now we have uh…
key thing jackson bill for the key for come to buy one year on the air Hey doctor, hey, good morning. Take a shot for the grace. Amen, that’s by grace. Hey, I’ve got a question on Mark 11, 25, and 26. And forgive. Was Jesus talking old covenant or? No, he’s talking to believers. And obviously, in the Christian life, you have to be forgiving if God is going to forgive you. So God is going to obviously be He’s talking about the Christian life.
If you really want God to be merciful and forgiving to you and bless your life, you’re going to have to be forgiving the others. Ephesians 4-30 is a favor to mine. It says that we ought to forgive others even as Christ has forgiven us. So we need to learn forgiveness and learn how to forgive. We need to, as God’s witnesses, forgive others as God has forgiven us. He’s not talking about how to We say that for sure. He’s talking to, and even in the words prayer, you know, it says our Father, you cannot pray that prayer and call God or call upon God as your Father unless you’ve been born again.
The Bible says that unbelievers are not God’s children, that only those that are born again are His children. It says in Romans chapter 9 and verse 8, those which are children of the flesh, these are not the children of God. But those who trust in the promised one, the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, they are counted as God’s seed. So we become sons of God, our daughters of God, when we trust Christ as Savior, the born again into God’s family.
But somebody who prays Father which aren’t in heaven, God is his Creator and he’s his creation. But God is not his Father, nor is this person God’s son until they trust the Lord. So he’s talking there in that teaching in the word prairie to believers. It’s not to unbelievers. I definitely believe that the finality of the cross and all the sins the world we’re paid for and anything more than anything we try to add to it, you know, it’s just not going to work.
But I appreciate it, Dr. Hank. Alright, thank you very much. We have to rightly divide the word of God and the Bible talks about the unbeliever unable to do anything to be saved but to trust Christ. But after we become saved, we’re saved to serve and we honorably live the Christ. And it gives us some good instructions. We’re going to go now to Adam and he’s out in Denver, Colorado and Adam, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air.
Thank you, Pastor. I just had a question, I have an opinion so much and how you teach the Bible. I’ve learned so much. There are three other, since we’re talking about pastors, Hank Hantograph, Helen Z. and Grant Jeffery. I know. I know there’s stuff about tank anagraph. If you could please explain more to me on that and catch all that. Well, Hank Hennigrap is a predatorist and he’s a five point Calvinist and he obviously doesn’t believe in the rapture the tribulation period the morning and i have his books and all of them he says that the the millennium is not the morning in the tribulation period is not the tribulation period and uh…
he just explains everything away sprinkles this uh… he says everything’s metaphorical that’s his favorite word uh… that was granted i’m sorry if he don’t want to believe that if he part of the back well absolutely christ came back in eighty seven either tribulation period began in eighty sixty four Nero was the Antichrist and that the Christ came back in 8070 with all of his power love was glory. Nobody ever saw it but of course that’s what he believes. Okay.
Okay and as far as revelation and that is that replacement theology? Yes. If you were talking about earlier. In Hank Ennegraaffy, the main premise of his book, he’s got a book called The Last Apostle. I think it is. He’s telling us that John wrote the book of Revelation before the tribulation period, before AD64, early writing on Revelation. So it’s all historic, it’s already been fulfilled. And that’s, of course, impossible. Thomas Ies in his book, In Time Controversy, drives a big stake right through that whole argument, and shows that John’s Gospel, the book of Revelation, could not have been written until the end of the first century.
And obviously, it looks forward to a tribulation period and a second coming in a thousand-year little reign of Christ. all of that is still yet featured and uh… can’t get really well gran jeffries opposed tribulation rapture he believes you have to go through the tribulation so i can’t buy into that at all we’re obviously to wait for christ not the tribulation period and uh… it says in first place lones one ten were to wait for the sun from heaven which delivered us from the wrath to come so we’re not going to go through that period of wrath the tribulation period we’re going to be snatched out beforehand and I think Grant Jeffrey has a lot of good things to offer, but I’ve read his books.
I’ve got many of them in my library, but I can’t buy that we’re going to go through any bit of the tribulation period. And then of course, how Lindsay is very good. I like most of everything that the hell Lindsay says. Okay. Thank you so much, Dr. I appreciate it. All right. We’re going to now go to, let’s see here. We have Larry in Manson, Michigan, and Larry…
Welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yes, Larry. I have a comment and then I I’m sorry, sir. I was saying that that was a great comment a great quote by Jay Bernmigee. He’s not the one who originated him. I read that from a lot of different Bible features, but that’s a good one The question I have is, would you please tell me the difference between version and translation, and I’ll hang up and listen to your answer because I learned this back 50 years ago.
By the way, may I express happy birthday belated to you and also you and I have 50 years of salvation because you expressed me you were born again. That’s right, isn’t that wonderful? and thank you Larry and God bless you now translation is a word for word rendering from the original languages into the language that uh… they’re translated into and of course uh… king james bible is a uh… translation of the hebrew the old testament and the greek the new testament into english directly from the hebrew greek and a version allows for a lot of liberty and uh…
the word paraphrases can be used if some of these newer versions because they are basically the uh… the uh… writer of the translation or uh… version is able to express the thought anyway he wishes which gives you a lot of liberty to change what the bible says so we don’t want to do that we’re now going to go to herbie and uh… pam pam herbie uh… welcome that to bible and herbie are you there and i don’t hear it so i don’t know herbie are you there here uh…
you don’t mind if i give me some references and in your opinion along with it about uh… cult i’ll hang up in place and sure okay herbie uh… occult uh… is uh… by definition a group that denies the basic tennis aficionity so uh… generally cults tonight hell they denied the trinity They deny the Bible as being the inspired word of God and all that we need to spiritually instruct us. They usually deny salvation by grace and so on and so on.
So they’re generally denied the basic teachings of the Bible and the Mormons are a good example. They don’t believe in the Jesus of the Bible. They don’t believe in the Trinity. They don’t believe in hell. They don’t believe in salvation by grace. So we just can roll right down the list of things that we believe from the Bible and realize these people don’t believe those things. So hopefully that helps Herbie and Occult is any group that denies these basic things.
If a group denies Hell, you can know there’s something wrong. The Seventh-day Adventist don’t believe in Hell. They obviously aren’t going to be surprised one day. We now have Dave and Planet City. Welcome back. Good morning again. How are you? Alright. I was studying yesterday with a friend and we got into a discussion about Noah and when the sun looked on his neckiness and I went through my concordance trying to find the part there where it says that that was a homosexual act and all I could find was that it meant nudity and nakedness and partially clothed and could you give me some guidance there is to…
Alright, we’ll do that you know in Leviticus it uses that term to speak of a sexual intercourse and Obviously this is what was taking place there and why God was so upset with that son of Noah that Did that it says here In Leviticus chapter 18 a whole chapter of this it says None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him to uncover their nakedness. I am the Lord. The nakedness of thy father or the nakedness of thy mother shall not uncover.
She is thy mother and I shall not uncover his nakedness. The nakedness of thy father’s wife shall not uncover. It is your father’s nakedness. And if you read all the way down here, it’s talking about having sex. Thank you very much and we are going to head toward break now. It’s pretty close to taking our break.
