In many cases, we’re glad to be with you today. And you can come out tonight if you want, if you’re in the area to our last two classes in the teaching on second Peter.
This has been a great study and we’re going to be doing class 9 and 10 tonight. You can be my guest. Just come and sit in. I think you’ll enjoy this last two hours, which is really exciting material about the return of Christ and about the days in which we live and what we should be expecting and how to confront that. biblically, Peter really was on target. Of course, he’s writing by the direction of God the Holy Spirit, who is the author of scripture.
And so he’s telling us what God wanted us to know. And it’s an exciting book. Anyway, this will be available on CV or DVD. If you’ve ordered that entire series after tonight, it’ll be ready probably sometime tomorrow. You can order 10 hours of teaching on 2 Peter. We already have 1 Peter done, so you can get the entire set now, 1 Peter and 2 Peter. We have some great books in our Resource Center. One of them has to do with the newer translations.
It’s called New Age Bible Versions. It’s about 800 pages. It covers the fact that most of the modern translations delete and change the text of the Bible and sometimes it is really, really to our detriment. In fact, sometimes the meaning is totally changed to the opposite of what the Bible is really saying. That’s scary. One of the ones that’s out there is the new living translation. It seems like they did no research at all. They took the word repent every time it occurs and just took apparently a word processor and put in the phrase, turn from your sin, turn from your sin every place that occurs.
That’s totally wrong. Repentance is not turning from sin. The Greek word is metanoia and it means a change of mind and when you repent you change your mind about Christ and about how to be saved and about works of salvation and simply trust in the shed blood of Christ is the only means of your salvation. And amazingly though, the English were repented, does not mean the same thing. So it was a bad translation. And ever since, preachers have been saying, turn from your sin, when if it had been transmitted correctly, it would be change your mind.
And that’s what’s required in salvation. In fact, when you trust Christ, you do change your mind. One of the great ways to remember what this doctrine is about is to know that you can repent without believing but you cannot believe without repenting. What did I just say? You can repent without believing. What does that mean? You can change your mind about Christ, about God, about salvation, and yet not trust Christ, not believe. But you cannot believe or trust Christ without having changed your mind from whatever you were previously trusting in.
So biblical faith, biblical trust in Christ includes and implies that change of mind which is called repentance. You don’t have to use the word repent to be teaching repentance. In fact, if it were true that you had to use the word repent, then we might as well pitch out a lot of our Bible. You know the Gospel of John? The wonderful gospel track of God? People give out gospels what John expected and the people can read that and get saved.
Guess how many times the word repent occurs in the Gospel of John? Are you ready? You want me to spell it for you? Z-E-R-O. Zero! There is not one time does the word repent. You know, the, the, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, Epistle to the Romans, uh, the Book of Romans in the New Testament. One of the great, great 16 chapter letters of Paul that just defines the Gospel is really all about what the Gospel is and is not.
Guess how many times the word repent occurs? in the book of Romans. Once, once, once, amazing. So it’s not everywhere. But you know what, the concept is there everywhere because in order to be saved you have to change your mind from whatever you’re trusting in to trusting in Christ. And when you do that you have repented, you have changed your mind. What I find is that so many pastors are not thinking, not thinking, not thinking as a new believer just learning about repentance.
I would be amazed as I’d go to a church or I’d go to a crusade or a revival and the preacher would say, repent of sin. Which by the way, the phrase repent of sin does not even occur in your Bible once. That’s right. The phrase, quote, repent of sin, unquote. That phrase does not occur in your Bible. It’s not there. You would think it would be everywhere because you hear that phrase used so often repent of sin. Well it doesn’t make any sense if you don’t have the true meaning of the word repent.
I don’t know about you, but I always always thought that sin was wrong. What about you? Well if I were to repent of my sin it would mean I would change my mind about my sin and I would say, whoa, it must be wonderful. Where? What if I missed? No, of course not. That doesn’t make any sense does it? Repent of sin would really mean change your mind about sin if you’ve been thought that was wrong you think it was wonderful that’s crazy that’s not the truth in fact uh…
the problem is is that they use that phrase that doesn’t even current occur in the bible which they manufacture and then the final is turning from your sin which by the way is not something that the bible teaches and obviously when they have a crusade and they tell the audience to come forward and repent of their sin, turn from their sin as they define it. They have the choir in the church or in the revival or in the crusade singing, just as I am, I come.
Without one plea but that thy blood was shed for me. So the preacher says, turn from your sin, the choir says, no, don’t listen to him. Come just as you are. Just as I am, I come without one plea but that thy blood was shed for me. and then all of a sudden the preacher says don’t listen to the choir i’m telling you repent of your sin herveian sin if you want to be saved and then the choir comes right back around with another stanza and that stands is just as i am i come without one plea but that by blood was shed for me they’re not on the same page but not saying the same thing if you had to turn from your sin to be saved acquire on to be singing some refrain or some song that said turn from your sin.
I could write it probably, turn, turn, turn, turn right now, turn or burn for sake or bake or something along that line. But that isn’t what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that God so loved the world that every one of us were all sinners and that if we would simply believe or trust in Christ as our Savior, as the one who died to pay for our sins that we would be saved. We would be saved eternally and we are saved on the spot just as we are.
In Romans chapter 5 it says, God commended His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5a, it’s really saying there that while we were in the act of sinning or in the state of sinning Christ died for our sins and we are saved by receiving that wonderful payment that Christ made at the cross for you and for me. Today we have so many different things that Satan is using to add works to salvation.
If you have to change your life or if you have to turn from your sin to be saved, that’s works. That’s contrary to the Bible. And the Bible says that you get saved and then God the Holy Spirit comes into your life and gives you the power to have victory over sin. I’ll never forget the story. A lady came in my church and she came forward after church was over and talked to me and she said, I’m going to hell.
I said, why are you going to hell? She says, I smoke. I was always told and as I repented of my sin of smoking, I would go to hell. And I said well people in hell smoke but they don’t go to hell because they smoke. You go to hell because you reject Christ and repentance does not mean to turn from your sin whatever it might be smoking or whatever. Well anyway, she got saved. Three weeks later she comes back to me and she says, guess what?
I said what? She said I don’t smoke. I said what? You don’t smoke? She said no. She said no. I don’t desire to smoke anymore. God just took the whole desire away from me. I don’t smoke anymore. Wow. Well, that’s the way it works. You come just as you are. And God saves you and then God the Holy Spirit comes in your life and gives you the power to have victory ever said But the Telver lost person and he has to stop sending it order to be saved as a work for salvation That’s a false by the salvation and I’m afraid you won’t be saved if you’re trusting in changing your life or your behavior I remember the Chorus I learned as a little boy only believe but actually I was smart enough to pick up that my church was not saying only believe when they sang it.
They implied only behave, only behave. All things are possible if you only behave. That’s the way I picked up on that song and that’s the way my church taught it. It was all about works. It was all about behaving. And later when I became saved that song became precious to me because I said, boy, the one who wrote it had it only believe. Only believe. Only believe. All things are possible if you only believe. If you trust Christ, God will save you.
He paid for your past, your present, your future sins. They’re all paid for. And you can receive the gift of eternal life at the moment you believe. And you’ll possess it forever and the rafter at a call this morning from a couple of guys live in the area. And they said they are discussing losing your salvation. And They know you can’t, but they wanted to have more evidence. John 637, Jesus says, him that cometh to me, I will have no wise cast out.
What does that mean? Under no circumstances, in no case or no wise would Christ ever cast out anyone who ever comes to him. So he’s never going to cast you out. But I don’t have those clever people that come to me and say, okay, alright, I concede Christ won’t cast me out, but I can cast myself out if I don’t want eternal life anymore. I can slam the door and walk away. No, my friend, you can’t even do that.
John 639, Jesus says, this is the Father’s will which has sent me, all of which have given me. Oh, I would lose none. N-O-N-E, none, not one. Not one, not one. But raise them up again at the last day. a great verse when I discovered that. I realized that if Christ said he would lose one, all of my life I’d have to worry maybe I’m the one he’s going to lose. Thank God I don’t have to be in a panic.
Baby I’m the one I’m the one he might lose. Oh, and be fearful all the days of my life. He said he’s not going to lose one. And by the way, if one person in all of history were ever lost after the outside, Jesus would be a liar. The Word of God would be wrong. You can’t be lost because God keeps you saved. He says it in John 639, this is a father’s role which has sent me to the Father which he has given me.
I should not lose you. We don’t lose salvation. We’re kept by the power of God, 1 Peter 1 5, and in this Christ you keep she saved. So in order to be lost, you would have to incapacitate Christ. You’d have to overcome Christ. You’d have to be stronger than Christ. Christ is God. He’s got it to go in Christ. It’s impossible. Impossible. And those poor folks that believe you can lose it, I’m afraid don’t realize that they’re trusting in their works and they won’t be saved.
One of the best questions you could ask somebody is, can you lose your salvation? If they say yes, they’re really saying that from this point right now until they die. What they do will determine whether they’re saved or not. That’s works. It makes them the Savior not Christ and they won’t be saved at all. I believe it’s the difference between identifying the wheat and the tears. The tears look like Christians walk like Christians, talk like Christians, sing songs like, and hymns like Christians carry Bibles like Christians, but in reality they’re not because they’re trusting in their works.
And that ultimately what they make heaven or not is dependable on what they do or what they do not do. The false message, the false gospel, always points you to your future. And what you will or will not do is the determining factor as to whether you go to heaven. The true gospel points you back to the cross where Jesus said it is finished. It’s done. It’s done. And yet how many denominations call God a liar, call Christ a liar.
When he said on the cross it’s finished, that means it’s finished. And they say it’s not finished. Why you have to keep the commandments and you have to go to church and you have to be baptized and you have to go to mass And you have to do penance and and it’s not finished You have to keep on keeping keeping and keeping keeping on and the one that endures to the end shall be saved My friend that’s the devil’s lie and you’ll not be saved.
You’ll not go to heaven if you’re depending upon your works And I warn you Because one day it’ll be too late if you die and have an understood that Jesus paid it all That every one of your sins past, present, future were paid for at the cross. It is finished. It’s done. And you simply receive God’s gift by receiving the full payment that Christ made for your sin. My friend, you’ll not be safe cig. I’m Dr. Englunds from this is Bible and we’re glad to be with you today.
We’re going to take our callers now if you’d like to call in the numbers 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call 1-800-576-3771. A guy named Lex calls in from Tampa, he leaves his software question, what are your thoughts on DS Warner and his writings and of those churches that adhere to his teachings? Well, obviously Warner thought he could live seamlessly. You can’t. I think he founded the assemblies of God, but in any case he was in the holiness. And by the way, a person has to be holy to go to heaven, but the holiness, the righteousness, is not based upon what we have done, but upon what Christ has done.
In other words, the Bible says by one offering Christ hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. The word sanctified means to make pure and holy, and it says in Hebrews 10, by the which will or by the will of God we are sanctified, made pure and holy, by the one time offering of Jesus Christ at the cross of Calvary. When Christ died, He fully paid your sin debt so that you could be made pure and holy and God-sight, and so the believer is seen as holy, righteous, positionally at the moment of belief and forever thereafter.
And by the way, the word sanctify is the verb form, the noun form is saint, and so every believer is a saint right now, right now. And so if you’re a believer, you’re a saint. It says that in the Bible. All the epistles in the New Testament written to believers addresses them as saints. Because they were saints right then while they were living. Even though they had problems. And by the way, you can’t live seamlessly. 1 John 1 8, John the Apostle, 60-something years plus after he got saved, says if we, 1 John 1 8, say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
Let’s go down to put the gorta Florida and we’re going to talk to D and D, welcome to my one. You’re on here. Thank you for taking my call. My question is on suicide. There’s a lot of children out there who are committing suicide and I believe some of them are saved. They still go to happen, don’t they? Absolutely. I mean, I realize that’s an awful fan but could you find that so that I can help other children understand?
Absolutely. We just talked about John 637 a moment ago and it says him that cometh to me and that is when you come and trust Christ as your Savior You become saved him to come with to me I will have no wise cast out and it doesn’t say except for suicide the Roman Catholic Church taught and still teaches that Suicide is the unpardonable sin they got that because Judas Committed suicide after he betrayed Christ and went to hell and so they They wrongly assumed that he went to hell because he committed suicide Well Judas didn’t go to hell because he committed suicide Judas went to hell because he never was a believer never trusted Christ John 664 says that Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him and so Jesus knew that Judas and he was talking about
Judas there was an unbeliever had not trusted him and John 13, it again tells us that Judas was not a believer. And so Judas went to hell because of that. Now certainly no one is told or should take their life. God wouldn’t want you to do that. But if you did, once you’re saved, he will not lose you, John 639, and he’ll not cast you out for any reason, even suicide. So if a person commits suicide and they’re saved, they would still be saved and still go to heaven.
That’s wonderful. That’s what I believe too. It’s just something I wanted to verify with someone that was very studied. Well, thank you so much. And you know we have a CD here that is so helpful to folks that just gives them such assurance in their salvation as a CD called How Permanent is Your Salvation. And we have thousands of those who go out of here and we hear such great reports of people who listen to that CD and they get their salvation really straight and solid.
They get able to listen to it as many times as they want and look up the scriptures and mark them in their Bible and see for themselves that this is what God says, not what I say, but this is what the Bible teaches. That would be wonderful. That would be a wonderful tool for all who are talking to others about salvation. If you just call back right after the program I’ll send you one free of charge. Just tell them that I said you get one free of charge.
How permanent is your salvation? We’ll send it right out to you. Okay, D. Bye. Bye. That was the down in Punta Gorda, Florida And we’re now gonna go to Peter in Palm Harbor Peter in Palm Harbor. Welcome to Bibleline your own the earth Good morning, Pastor. I was wondering if you could explain and kind of comment and lighted your opening on sermon on Luke 1615. I’ll hang up and listen. All right. We’ll go ahead and do that. And Luke 1615.
I’m on my way. Luke 1615. Okay. Luke 16, 15. I’m almost there. Chapter 14, Chapter 15, verse 16. I’m here. Luke 15, 16. I think that was a verse you just said. Let’s see here. This is verse, well, just about the prodigal son of Luke 15, 16 says, and he would The feign have filled his belly with the husk that the swine did eat and no man gave him gave unto him. Not too sure if this is the verse, but the next verse then says, when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s house have bread enough to spare and I perish with hunger?
Well, here is a fellow that was one of two sons that the father had. One doesn’t hear it early and he went out and wasted it and spent it on the world. But he later came to his senses and changed his mind and decided to go back with the father. And this is a believer being restored as obviously the father has a feast and celebrates the return of his son. The other son of course who had stayed at home was very jealous and very upset about the whole action.
But basically this is not a believer who lost his salvation. This is a believer who got away and saw that serving the world isn’t going to bring the joy and the pleasure and the happiness that somebody might be seeking and looking for. That real joy and real happiness and real satisfaction comes by serving the Lord. The book of Ecclesiastes which is probably seldom read, written by Solomon, tells that Solomon tried everything to bring happiness. He had wealth, he had success.
He had friends, he had just everything and tried everything, traveled and built things and accomplished things and yet none of it brought any happiness to him. Solomon said the only answer is to really serve the Lord. When you serve the Lord as a believer, that brings satisfaction and joy like nothing else can. Miami, we’re glad to have you on the air down there and exciting to be with you and we’re picking up new listeners every day. I hope you’ll tell your friends about the program and also pray for us and if you can support Bible and by calling in and giving a gift so that we can maybe get that second half hour.
God bless all of you in Miami, Florida, listening on 1080W MCU. Alright, back to our other programmers. We hope that we got it right. I think I maybe got the wrong chapter. Maybe it’s in Luke chapter 16 and maybe that’s the place I should have been. Let me go back to there in Luke 16, 15, and here it says, you are they which justify yourselves before men, but God knoweth your hearts. For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
That’s a great verse isn’t it? A lot of things that people are doing that they think are really going to bring them credit with God and help them on their way to heaven are really not going to get them anywhere. And it warns about that here in this particular verse, you are they which justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. You’re not justified by doing things that get you approved with men. saved but when you trust in the The finished work of Jesus Christ as Savior in Luke 1615.
This is the verse. Alright, we’re going to come up on break here real quick and let me just say that if you are in the Tampa Bay area, you’re welcome to drive over tonight to our headquarters and sit in the classes nine and ten to finish up the book of Second Peter. Also don’t forget you need to trust Christ alone to be saved. If you’re not saved yet, if you’re not sure about your salvation, you need to just tell the Lord Lord I’m a sinner but I trust Jesus alone and his death and shed blood as the means of my salvation believing you was buried and came back again from the dead. I trust him and him alone. Here we go to break. We’ll be right back. Stay there. I’ll be right back after this short break.
Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englund. It’s great to be with you again. Thank you for tuning in today. Hank Lindstrom. We’re back with you. We’re back with you. This is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Galvary Community Church. We’re on the pastor and it’s Tuesday and tonight we’ll finish up 2nd Peter, Class 9 and 10 tonight between 7 and 9. I’d love to have you come and be my guest and just sit in on these last two class hours. I think it will excite you to see what Peter has to say that is so connected to the day in which we’re living right now.
Unbelievable and cause your skin to curl to just become alert to what is said in that Bible of ours. You know, and the devil doesn’t like Second Peter, liberal theologians who like to rip it right out of the Bible. Satan doesn’t want you to read that book, he doesn’t want you to see that book, he doesn’t want you to study that book, he does not want you to pay attention to the book and you need to and you could be in our classes tonight or you can order the whole series on 2 Peter, 10 hours of teaching on CD or DV Just Call and you can order those over the phone.
By the way we already have 1 Peter already done so this will complete tonight 1st and 2 Peter and you can get those and enjoy the wonderful series wherever you might be in home in your car, in your Sunday school class, in a home Bible study. You can use these to facilitate a Bible study. They’re very, very powerful. By the way, we also want you to know you can come by any day of the week and visit our Resource Center open until about 4.30 in the afternoon.
If you are living in another city and you can’t make that drive, you can go to the internet Biblemindindustries.org. And there, our online bookstore is a visit to our resources so you can see all the things that we have. We have some wonderful, wonderful books that will help explain the doctrines of the Bible. The Schofield Bible is so doctrinally right on that you’ll find for example, we talked about repentance a moment ago. The Schofield Bible that we sell is the 1909-1917 edition, which is the old, which is the better one.
It tells us in the footnote there on repentance. In the Scoville Bible, nearly 100 years ago, one more year and it will be 100 years, Scoville says that repentance is the translation of a Greek word, Betanoia, which means a change of mind. And he points out that salvation is not turning from sin or sorrow for sin. Salvation is received by trusting Christ. And the change of mind that comes along with that is biblical repentance. Isn’t that exciting? And so we’re excited about that.
He got a nice letter yesterday from a gentleman in Richmond, Virginia, and he said he’s in the burial business. And he said, every day he sits in his truck and listens to Bibleline at the cemetery as he waits for the different funeral services to arrive to perform his duties. Isn’t that nice? You get letters from people that tell us about where they are when they listen to Bible Iron and how much they appreciate it. And he gave a gift to Bible Iron and said he would be continuing to help Bible Iron stay on the air in Richmond, Virginia.
And we’re on to many states who are excited about what God has done in allowing us to be on the air in many places and also on the internet worldwide. Really, the internet is the worldwide web and there are 156 countries that have logged in. Really incredible stuff. And it looks like that God is opening a door now for us to go on television in Turkey. I met the head of the project to evangelize Turkey and he and I hit it off and he said that he would like to take our television programs, translate them into Turkey and beam them down from satellite over Turkey, which by the way of any country in the Middle East, they have more televisions per household than any other in the Middle East.
We’re excited about that and we’re in the process right now of getting our programs ready and changed over to Turkish for reaching the people and tricking with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for these opportunities as God is opening up doors and we’re excited about it. And of course you all are part as you pray for and give to my boy. We believe God is doing exciting things and you’re going to get more for your investment when you invest in my blind than any other ministry that I know.
Because we don’t pay any salaries, we are really focused on getting this message out and everybody’s a volunteer including myself and we appreciate all of you that help us because we’re totally dependent on our listeners for support. We have no other means. So if you’d like to help us, it would be greatly appreciated. you can call and offer to give a gift by credit card or ask for an envelope to be sent mail you a gift in. We’re going to go to Richmond, Virginia.
All of a sudden Richmond is lighting up now. We have Tony in Richmond and Tony, welcome to Vibeline. You’re on the air. Dr. Lisham, I just wanted to thank Dr. Lisham. I got a school filled Bible and you’re so right. It’s so on one point. I had a Through living translation and a chain reference Bible superior Jesus said no one could come to me unless it’s been granted to me by my father Can you just do uh can you come to Jesus that has to be like a continual coming and continual speaking not just a one-time thing?
Can you just elaborate on those things? I’ll hang up and listen okay, Tony will do that, you know So it’s true, no matter if you can come to the Father except the Father, draw Him. And if you read John 12, 32, it says He draws all men. So everybody is equally drawn. God does not respect our persons. He wants all people to be saved. In fact, there’s a wonderful verse over in 2 Peter. We’ll be covering it tonight. In 2 Peter chapter 3, if you have your Bible there, you’ll want to make a note of this verse.
It’s so good. It says here, and good a quote for you, says, the Lord is not slack concerning His promise. This is 2 Peter 3 verse 9, as some men count slackness, but as long as suffering to us word, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance or change of mind. So God doesn’t say He’s not willing that many should perish, He’s not willing that any should perish. God does not want anyone to go to hell, not one, not one, not one.
But He wants everybody to come to that change of mind which we talked about today as repentance and when you trust Christ you become saved. And you only come once. He doesn’t say come again and again and again and again and again and again. Nor does He say you have to be born again and again and again and again and again and again. You’re only born again once. You only come once and trust Him and become saved at that moment and receive eternal life And from that moment on, you’re passed from death into life.
From that moment on, you’re sealed with the Holy Spirit, and he seals you until you’re in heaven. So it’s something that happens at the moment you believe. Ephesians 1, 13 says, when you believe the gospel, it says you’re sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance, so tell the redemption of the purchase possession. So in other words, from the moment you believe you become sealed by the Holy Spirit, That implies ownership. He seals you as his child, as his son.
He’s never going to let that seal be broken. You are sealed until you’re actually standing on Heaven’s shores or earth or sand or whatever. You’ll be there in Heaven when the Lord completes what he begins at the moment you believe. save forever and it’s all of Christ, it’s all by what he did for us and you only come once. Otherwise, this works and that’s what these churches are teaching to see if they continually come and continually do this and that and the other.
That’s all works and you won’t be saved if you’re trusting in your works. Thank you Tony and we now have Leonard in Richmond Virginia calling in. Leonard, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. the morning doctor and I’ve been trying to get on a program for a couple of days now. So I’m going to try to be brief. I got a couple about Solomon and how he was trying to you know. I want to know. Seven hundred wives and three hundred talking about.
So that’s my question. I want to know now but it’s tough. Where did God act to say okay now it’s time for man to be married to one wife instead of. Well Genesis chapter two I began at the very beginning. And I was this obedient to the Lord to do what he did. And we’re told way back early on in the Bible that you are not to have more than one wife. In fact, in Deuteronomy, that was written by Moses long before Solomon ever comes along.
Let me turn to that passage and I’ll give you a quote from Deuteronomy. This is Deuteronomy chapter 17. And here it says in verse 17, and that’s easy to remember, is that it did run in the 17th 17th, neither shall he multiply wives to himself. And it says here that his heart not turned away, neither shall he multiply to himself silver and gold and so on. So it’s very clear that we are not to have more than one wife period from the very get go, and that was written long before Solomon came along.
And really God got angry, not really so much because he has so many wives, but because Because they turned his heart away, and that’s what the warning was here. And they began to bring their false gods into Israel and Solomon allowed that to happen under his watch because his wives turned his heart away. Hey man, thank you. My second question is found in the Gospel Court in the Matthew chapter 25 when Jesus was speaking about the chapter separating the sheep from the goat.
And the last thing he said, he said, when you’ve done this to the least of the brethren, you’ve done it to me also. I was talking to the discussion. I wanted to know when you feed the believers and close. He’s actually talking about the tribulation period after the rapture and there are three groups there. There are the goats which are the unsaved and the sheep which are the saved. And the third group, are the Jews that are his brethren according to the flesh.
Christ was a Jew and the 144,000 witnesses will be persecuted and imprisoned. And what group will come and visit them and bring them food and phobic and so on? It’s those that got saved through the 144,000. They’re grateful. And they ministered to the 144,000. And the unsaved, you could care less and probably are glad that they’re in jail. don’t minister to them. So this is how God is going to judge the world one day as to how they treated the Jewish people.
Thank you Dr. Hank. You’re very welcome. Thank you for calling in Leonard. That was Leonard from Richmond, Virginia with some very good questions there. We have Dorothea in Chester, Virginia. This is beginning to be all of a sudden Virginia day. Dorothea, welcome to I’m the Bible and you are on the earth. I listen to you just about every day and a half a year after all. Yesterday you were talking about a Jehovah with this Bible and NIV and you said something about both bibles read the same words and some chapter.
I don’t remember the chapter. Could you please tell me what chapter that is? Well, both Bibles delete the same 44 verses. There are 44 verses deleted in their entirety in the NIV. For example, one of them is Acts 837, the most important verse probably in that chapter, and it’s the only place that tells us what is the requirement for someone to be water baptized, and that is that they have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and have trusted him as their Savior and are saved, and then they’re eligible to be water baptized, which is a testimony of that faith.
But if you have an NIV Bible, you’ll read verse 36 and you’ll read verse 38, and there is no Acts 837. But history what happened to xa 37 they just dropped it and they dropped 44 verses and guess what the Jehos Witness Bible drops the same 44 verses Well, does that we shouldn’t read the I wouldn’t I think I never had one I always stick with the King James Berg. We’ve been for you Yeah, the idea is a lousy translation you will Definitely be misled It accommodates whatever people want to hear.
You know, there’s not a verse in the Bible that says angels sing That’s not a big point But yet it shows how we don’t study our Bibles But there’s not one verse but yet the NIV accommodates the readers and just puts into the angels sing So I mean you’ll you’ll get whatever you want to get out of your Bible If you read the NIV because they will accommodate the popular misconceptions and wrong ideas of people and and twist the Bible to make it say that.
But obviously, I wouldn’t want a Bible like that, and I hope if you have one, you would put it away someplace. Well, I was thinking about getting one, but let me ask you another question. Now the trick I belong to, the pastor does read in of the Bible verses from time to time. Now what did you think about that? Well, obviously, I think he’s probably not doing his homework about what is a good Bible translation, because it’s very clear the NIV is not a good translation.
and we have a quiz here that we will mail you free that is the NIV quiz. Ask your pastor to take this quiz using his NIV Bible. Guess what? He’ll get a zero because all the verses on the quiz are not in his Bible. So, obviously, he can’t get an answer. And that’s a wake-up call. A lot of people have gotten rid of their Bible as soon as they’ve realized, whoops, this quiz wakes me up that these verses are all missing and I can’t even pass the quiz unless I get another kind of Bible.
I want a town to do another and I just go on this church. I went a few months and then I’ve noticed. I know this a few things which I didn’t agree and then when I heard this about the overwicked Bible N.I.B. I have a question now about that. Him reading some verses out of that N.I.B. Bible. So I will you send me this quiz If you hold on, I’ll give you over to my operators. They’ll take your address.
Thank you so much and God bless you. Of course, I want you to also know that we have the book New Age Bible Versions, which also is so powerful. It’s about 800 pages and goes through about 20 of the modern translations and shows what’s been happening today with all this. We now have Curtis. And Curtis is Jacksonville, Florida and Curtis welcome Welcome to Bibleline you’re on here. Good morning Pastor. Good morning. I want to congratulate you. I think that’s one of the greatest revelations that teachers you had this morning.
It made a big impact on my life. But my question is, I also heard another statement and I want to know if it’s on the same line as what you say. It was stated that I’m not a sinner cause I sin. I sin because I’m a sin. Well that is correct. We have a sin nature. We’re born into this world related back to Adam and have that sinful nature of Adam. So we sin because we have a sin nature.
A dog, for example, barks because he’s a dog. A dog doesn’t become a dog when he barks. You have that puppy and you say, boy, I can’t wait to see if he’s a dog or not. Let’s see if he barks and eventually the little puppy goes, then you say, oh, that must be a dog. The dog is a dog before he barks and you know he’ll bark one day because that’s his nature. Same thing is true about us. I didn’t mean to bark on the radio here.
When I first heard it, I thought that was one of the greatest revelations that I ever heard more plainer to me. Absolutely. And the people become more aware of it. Well, I tell you, we really have to keep hammering away and presenting the truth. I went to church for 18 years before I ever found out how to be saved. I’ve led people to Christ in their 70s and 80s that have been in church all their life and never knew how to be saved.
That’s sad. That should not happen. How can somebody spend 80 years in a church and not find out how to go to heaven? It shouldn’t be happening. Everybody should know how to go to heaven even if they don’t learn anything else. That’s the basics. the bottom of the, of the, you know, essential of it as to how to become saved in a child of God. And so that needs to be presented, and presented clearly to people so they can understand it.
Thank you. Thank you. And that was Curtis and Jacksonville, Florida. And well, we have Christina in Newport, Richie, Florida, and Christina, welcome to Bible and you’re on here. Yes, I have a 17-year-old niece that was really involved in her church. She was the youth leader of the top of her band and everything at the church and everything. And she’s kind of going to stray a little bit. She says that as long as she believes in the Lord and believes that the Savior and everything, and that as long as she knows that and believes that, why can’t she go out and have fun now and do something that may be the wrong thing that the Lord is going to forgive her in the end anyway.
What’s wrong with doing a little bit of that? Well, the answer is, is just like if you’re living at home with mom and dad and you do things wrong, your parents will hopefully discipline you and God is going to discipline the delinquent believers. So she’s going to go out and sew her wild oats. The result is the crop will come in much later. And unfortunately, the crop can be a really rotten crop. You know, if you do the sins of this world, unfortunately, today I was just reading something about 25% of girls in junior high already have sexually transmitted diseases.
What a sad thing. And sometimes these are incurable. They should carry those to the grave. And so they need to be careful what they do because they might be saying, well, I have some fun now, but the pain and the suffering and the consequences can be deadly and can be for the rest of their life. And these are, I think, consequences to our sins. And so we just really have to be careful with the young lady that she’ll realize that you don’t want to do that, because you can really pay a big price for that.
Even though you’re saved, you can pay a price in being disciplined here and the pain and suffering that comes as a result you don’t want to experience. Right. That’s what I was thinking and trying to explain to her that there is tiny consequences on the earth and as long as you follow with the Lord it will help you through everything. But there are consequences here and she says if I’m going to be saved and I’m going to go to heaven in the end anyways, but there is consequences on earth.
Absolutely. And also in heaven the result will be loss of reward forever. And obviously, you know, It’s just like Jacob and Esau. Esau didn’t see the importance of living for Christ or being aware of the spiritual things. He sold his birthright for just a pot of soup to his brother. Later he regretted that and he wept. He tried to get Isaac his father to change his mind about giving the birthright and the blessing. He says the change of his dad’s mind with tears, but it couldn’t be changed and he suffered the loss forever.
Well, thank you so much. I appreciate it. Okay, thank you so much. And by the way, that’s another example of the word repentance. Isaac, it says, rather Esau sought this birthright back, the blessing back with tears and repentance. And of course, if you don’t read it carefully, it was not him repenting. It was he wanted his dad to repent or change his mind and put the dad to Isaac to bless him after he had already given a blessing to his brother after he sold his birthright.
We don’t have Matthew in Spring Hill Florida and Matthew, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Good morning, Pat. Good morning, pastor. Can you explain to me in Luke 735 when Jesus said wisdom is justified of all our children? What do you meant by that? Alright, I’m turning there now in Luke 735. It’s 735. Let’s see here. Okay, wisdom there is, I think, a reference to Christ himself. It’s back in the Old Testament. You’ll find it talks about in Proverbs, I think it’s about chapter 8, that wisdom is a personification of the Christ.
And we find that it’s saying here all her children, obviously, that those who come to know Christ and are His will obviously forever enjoy the benefits of that. So it will be absolutely a complete vindication of any of those who a sale who Christ is or what He can do for you. Those who are in heaven one day, all the children that come to know Christ as their Savior will obviously be a witness and a testimony to the fact that Christ is who he is and how that he is truly wisdom and those who trust him are saved forever.
There are a number of verses you can use in a search that would tie it all together for you. Thank you. And that was Matthew. We now have Felix in Tampa, Florida and Felix, welcome to Vibon. You’re on the air. How are you doing? How are you doing? Good. Yes, I got a question. We were going to be John 514. Will he say that sing no more? Yeah, are you talking about the woman that was caught in adultery? No, no, this one is a man who got safe and this is telling not to sing.
Let me see if I can find it. Okay, young 514 afterwards, after we’re done, Jesus finally came in the temple and said I am behold, I have not made hold, sin no more, less the worst thing come upon me. Oh my question is, if Jesus Christ is telling us here that we are capable of not No, but I think it’s talking about whatever since he was committing which were over Sims and he didn’t stop. You know, a drunker can stop drinking and other people have addictions that the problems can get beyond those and stop.
But we can’t live totally Sim-free, which is obvious. It says in James 417, for example, to him that North did do good and do it if not to him it is Sims. Whenever we fail in any area of responsibility where we know where to do something for the Lord and we don’t, we are sitting when we don’t read our Bible and we don’t pray and so on. So you can’t live without sin, but there are certain sins you can stop.
You don’t have to. We’re out of time for another question. We have time for another question. I think I’m out of time, but would you call back to my feelings? Sure, no problem. Okay. Then we’re at the end of the hour, and Felix, thank you for that call. Lots of good questions today, and we’ll be back tomorrow. I want to again invite you to come out tonight, if you’re in driving this, into the last two classes in 2nd Peter, be my guest and sit in and enjoy.
