So why not take advantage of that and you can enjoy with your whole family the Sunday morning worship. By the way, this Sunday is a great Sunday to come visit. If you’re driving in from any distance, it’ll be a great Sunday because we have a dinner. Every third Sunday we have a wonderful covered dish dinner, lots of great home-cooked food, great fellowship, wonderful time to get to meet one another and we’d invite you to come at 1030 for our morning worship, bring your appetite, your family, your Bible and then join us for the dinner that will follow and be my guest.
That’s this Sunday and we do that every third Sunday of the month. We’d love to have you come and I hope you will. So join us this Sunday for that third Sunday dinner. So we want to remind you about our Resource Center. We have lots of wonderful helps and resources for you, including the Olds Go Field Bible, which is such a powerful, powerful reference Bible. It is the King James Bible, but the notes are all geared to doctrine. Most Bibles have biographical, geographical information, and that’s wonderful.
It’s great for Bible trivia. But, you know, it doesn’t really seem to be as important to know how many missionary journeys Paul took, how many cities he visited on each journey, how long each journey took, and on and on and on. All the Bible trivia will take a lot of your time. But to know what about angels, what about demons, what about the creation, what about inspiration, what about salvation, what What about heaven? What about hell? What about Hades?
What about to paralyze? What about justification, glorification, predestination? Well, the Scofield Bible is going to help you define all these terms and get them really clear. It’s a great Bible came out in the first edition in 1909. And we only stopped the old editions 1909 and 1917. After that the Scofield Bible will give you the end to be watered down. Notes were added that were not by Dr. Scofield and many of those I disagree with. So definitely you don’t want to get one of the newer ones and that’s what you’ll get in your Christian bookstore.
Please take a careful note of what you’re getting and if you’re looking to get one some place else make sure you get the 1909 and 1917 editions of the Scofield Bible. We also have the strongest concordance. That is really a great tool. It has every word in the Bible, every the, every dowry and every by every shout. And by a simple number code system, we’ll allow you to look up the original word in the Hebrew or Greek. To know what it meant and how it’s translated throughout the Bible.
Very, very helpful in studying your Bible. We also have so many of my teachings on CD or DVD. You can get 2nd Peter, which we just finished, which is really powerful for the time in which we’re living in right now. Where Christianity is under attack and the doctrine of the 2nd coming and inspiration of Scripture is under attack. This is a book that arms the Christian for the last days and definitely you’ll want to get a copy of that series on CD or DVD we also have first Peter 10 hours of teaching also the gospel of John 20 hours of teaching We broke that into two halves 10 and 10 and you can get the first half of John 10 hours of teaching or the second half Of the gospel John 10 hours of teaching and it’s first by hers You really have difficulty finding anything out there in the marketplace where somebody goes verse by verse
Through the books of the Bible as we do here at Bible and then you can order them and get a resource sheet to will tell you all the different ones that are available about a 40 different choices you have the book of Hebrews the book of Romans the book of Jude the book of Revelation the book of Daniel the book of Genesis the book of Matthew and on and on and on we go, you’ll find it very, very helpful.
We’re going to get into the Bible for a couple of minutes and then we’re going to take our callers. People are already calling in. That phone number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to turn to the little book of Jude, what an exciting book this one is. And it tells us here that it is a letter addressed from Jude the servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James to them that are sanctified by God the Father. Now guess what?
Every believer is sanctified by God the Father at the moment of belief. When you trust Christ as Savior, the Bible says we’re sanctified by the one-time offering of the body of Jesus Christ. Now the word sanctified from the Greek, the verb form is sanctified and the noun form is saint. So every person that has been sanctified is a saint. And by the way the word translated sanctified means from the Greek, the original word from which we find the English word sanctified is a word that means to make pure and holy.
And so the Bible says that you are made positionally pure and holy before God at the moment you believe. And as a result you become a saint. You know it’s interesting that a lot of people think that saints are special people that have lived special lives, that have to have their lives reviewed, and after they’ve been dead for a long time a counsel will vote and decide whether they’re made a saint or not. Well, that’s not the biblical way because God makes instant saints out of sinners.
When you trust Christ as Savior, God sanctifies you and you become a saint at the instant that you believe. If you read the New Testament letters, it addresses common ordinary people just like you and me that had trusted Christ the Savior and calls them saints. It says that they were sanctified in Christ Jesus. And when you trust Christ, that’s exactly what happened. Some people tried to find the word sanctify as to set apart. Guess what? That is not the meaning.
Now things that are pure and holy are set apart from things that are not pure and holy, And so anything that is sanctified is obviously set apart from things that are not sanctified. So if you have trusted Christ, you are made pure and holy in God’s sight, positionally, and obviously that sets you apart from everybody else on the planet that is not a believer in Christ. Every believer is sanctified. Every believer is a saint. But if you have been sanctified, you are pure and holy in God’s sight and that sets you apart from everybody else on the planet.
You know the Bible tells us that we are a unique people. We are a unique group. We are a group that has become born again where members of God’s family by the new birth and we are considered by God as though we had never sinned because we are declared to be as righteous as God and that is who this letter is addressed to. Amazingly we’ve lost this wonderful truth today that I’m a saint, believe it or not. And that might sound awkward if I went around and told you that I’m Saint Hank.
But guess what? If you’re listening today and you’re a believer, you’re Saint Joe or Saint George or Saint John or Saint whatever your name might be because you are sanctified by God when you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. Hebrews 10-10 tells us by the will of God we are sanctified, made pure holy. Through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all, the moment you trust Christ, you become made pure and holy in God’s sight. And again, the verb form of the Greek word is translated sanctify.
The noun form is translated saint. And so every person that has been sanctified is called in the Bible a saint. Then he goes on to say here in Jude chapter 1 and verse 1, and preserved in Jesus Christ. Did you know that once you trust Christ, God preserves you. You are preserved forever. That’s right. And so in other words, you’re saved forever and can never be lost once you become saved. What a wonderful truth it is that we don’t have temporary salvation given to us, but we are eternally saved when we trust Christ and the Bible says that we are preserved forever.
And that has got to be some of the best news that you and I will ever learn or discover in our entire lifetime. The fact that a believer is preserved in Christ Jesus and that is forever and ever and ever. He is a great verse from the Old Testament from Psalms 37, where it says here, For the Lord Loveth judgment, this is verse 28 of Psalm 37, the Lord Loveth judgment and forsake it not his saints. We just defined who the saints are.
Those saints are those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus. That is a trusted Christ and God sanctifies them or makes them pure and holy in his sight and therefore their call saints. Well it says the word of the judgment and forsake it, not in saints. And then it says here in this one verse in Psalm 37 28, they are preserved forever, forever, forever. So God’s saints are preserved forever. Now in Roman Catholic theology, you wait till after a person has died.
If they’ve lived a very special life and apparently performed some miracles, their life is reviewed by the church and then there are steps that will bring them from where they were positionally as far as the church is concerned to St. Hood. That is not biblical. That is not biblical at all. And what is interesting, they’re not preserved forever because the Roman Catholic Church has unsanited people that have become saints. According the Bible if you’re a saint, you’re preserved forever.
But you know if you hear this back, we find that St. Nick, that we often know of around Christmas time, was desainted and is now just plain Nick. That’s right. And so many of the saints, a number of them, have lost their St. Hood. The church has reviewed and changed their mind. Well, God doesn’t change His mind. And the Bible tells us here that once you become a saint, once you trust Christ as Savior, you are a saint forever.
By the way, I am a saint because I have trusted Christ as my Savior, and my sainthood will last forever. It will never be revoked. It will never be changed. And it says here in my Bible in Psalm 37, 28 that the Lord does not forsake His saints, I’m one of them, you’re one of them, if you’re a believer. And it says here in my Bible that they are preserved forever. We’re preserved forever. I don’t know if you know what preserves are, but you know, my grandmother used to make a lot of preserves and would preserve food and put it on the shelf and it would maintain its life for years.
And it was wonderful. would-can things and it was great. Well, we are like that. We are preserved by God, but it’s forever, forever and ever and ever. And of course, somebody once was teasing and said, some Christians are pickled and I think that’s because they’re a little bit sour. But in any case, we are preserved forever if you’re a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. What a great verse. Let me just read that one more time. It says here in Psalm 3728, for the Lord loveth judgment and forsake it, not his saints.
They are preserved forever. And then the last phrase says the seed of the wicked. That is the unsaved, the unbeliever shall be cut off. So the Lord will bring about judgment one day upon the unbeliever. And the wicked, the unbeliever will be cast off and separated from God forever. But the believer will never go to hell. Once you trust Christ, you are saved forever. This wonderful little book at the end of your Bible, the book of Jude, tells us that it’s addressed to you and me that are sanctified in Christ Jesus.
And if you’ve trusted Christ, you have been sanctified. That means you’re being made pure and holy in God’s sight. And of course that sets you apart from everybody in this world that’s not a Christian. Everyone in the world that’s not a believer. everyone in the world that is not saved. So once you become saved, you become a saint. And of course that is the noun form of the same Greek word that is translated sanctified. So we’ve been sanctified and made saints.
And then it tells us in this wonderful book that the saints are preserved forever in Christ Jesus. And we just saw that from the Old Testament as well in Psalm 37, 28. Wow. excited because you know, wonderful. Isn’t it to know that you will never go to hell once you trust Christ, that you’re forever God’s child? If you’re delinquent, God will discipline you. If you don’t live for the Lord, you’ll suffer the loss of reward in heaven forever, but you’ll still be saved.
You know, 1 Corinthians 3, 15 is a wonderful verse. It talks about the judgment seat of Christ where every believer one day will stand and give an account for what he’s done since he’s been saved. And it says, if your works be burned up at that judgment, you will suffer loss, loss of reward, but it says, but he himself shall be saved. He himself shall be saved. In other words, it implies here that somebody could live their life out and do nothing worthy of reward.
All of their works burn up, and they would suffer the loss of reward for eternity in in heaven, but yet they would still be saved. Because we’re saved by grace, we’re saved by faith in Christ, and not by works, and we’re saved eternally. Alhamdock Franklin is driven to hope you’re sanctified, and if you are, you’re a saint. You could tell your family, I’m a saint! You might look at you kind of strange, because usually everybody’s taught wrong about what the Bible says about sainthood.
Well, we’re going to go to the phone lines. The phone number here, Bible and is 1-800-576-3771. And we’re going to go to Lake Worth, Florida, and we’re going to talk to Tim who’s been so patient to wait. And Tim, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Okay. I am talking with the Christian fellow, or a Catholic fellow, and I’m sure this is not new to you john twenty twenty three regarding apostolic succession and the churches the ability to only be the one to forgive sins uh…
it he keeps wanting me to tell him what that first means uh… and i can’t but he calls me it means that only the church as the ability to forgive sense well in a sense he’s right because the body of Christ is the church and every one of us that are believers have the privilege of being able to forgive sin but it’s through the message of the gospel that we bring to somebody. So when we believe, when we bring the gospel to somebody and they believe the message of the death, the barrel, the resurrection of Christ and trust Christ as their Savior, we can say to them based upon the authority of God’s Word that they’re forgiven of their sin and that they will enter heaven.
And I can witness to somebody if they reject Christ, and they say, no, I will not trust Christ as my Savior. On the authority of God’s Word, I can say that your sins are not forgiven, and my friend, you’re going to spend an eternity in hell. You certainly don’t want to have that happen to you. Let me give you a great verse, and this is in 2 Corinthians chapter 2. And here it talks about each and every one of us as being witnesses for God.
Then he says here in verse 14 of 2 Corinthians chapter 2, Now thanks be unto God which always causes us, the believer, to triumphant Christ, and makeeth manifest or makeeth known the saver of his knowledge by us. So we are here’s what this is in every place in the world. And then it says in verse 15, for we are under God a sweet saver of Christ in them that are saved and in them that perish to the one we are the saver of death and to the other the saver of life unto life.
So basically as we bring the message and God uses us as believers to bring that message to the world to the one who receives it we’re the saver of life unto life but to the one who rejects it we’re the saver of death unto death. This is a two-edged sword, this message we bring. It is the message it brings about the forgiveness of sin. But let me just, since this fellow wants to go back to the apostles, Peter tells us, and Peter never claimed that he had personal power to forgive sin.
But if you read what Peter said in Acts 4, 12, Peter said, neither is there salvation in any other, but there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. And he’s talking about Jesus, Acts 4, 12. Then in Acts 10, 43, Peter says very plainly to Jesus or Yeshua, give all the prophets witness that through his name, whosoever believeth in him, Jesus shall receive the remission of their sins. So Peter tells us that when you believe in the name of Christ and you trust who he is and what he did for you at the cross.
That’s how you receive the remission of sins. And Peter had the power to forgive sin by bringing that message to the lost. But Peter never claimed that he had personal power. When you read the book of Acts and you read what Peter said, Peter never said, come to me and I’ll forgive your sin. He always says salvation is in Christ and that all the Old Testament prophets said that whosoever would believe in Christ’s name and trusting him would receive the remission of their sins.
Hope that helps a little bit. Yeah. That helps a lot. So Peter really never claimed to have the power to forgive sin. Never never never never. And if you read his two epistles and I just did ten hours on each one and they’re available on CD, we cover how his plan of salvation is that you have to trust Christ. There’s no other way. He never said, come to me and I can forgive your sin. always points back to Jesus and as what Jesus was telling them and he gave them the message that labels us to bring about the forgiveness of sin when somebody believes that message their sins are forgiven.
Why I asked this guy, so are you ready to look Christ in the eye and tell him that his blood is not enough to save you? He just walked away. Okay, you’re a blessing. Well great, Tim I’m glad I could be a help. Okay have a good day. Alright, thank you Tim. Tim down in or across the state in Lake River Florida. We have Benjamin now in Clearwater Florida and Benjamin welcome to Bibleline. Good morning Mr. Hank. You know they antiquized going to sit in the temple.
But in the millennium they just described our law going to sit in the temple also. That temple is the same temple or that’s going to be another temple. If that’s going to be another temple, will you please? Can you tell me where I can find that temple in the Bible, please? Thank you. All right. It’s going to be the same temple. The Antichrist in the tribulation period after the Rapture will interrupt the sacrifices. It will be resumed again during the tribulation period.
And he’ll go into the temple. Second Thessalonians 2 4 tells us that he will go into the temple and their proclaim that he is gone and demand to be worshiped. But when Jesus comes back, and his second coming, he will cleanse that temple and establish his worship from that temple and he will sit in that temple. Obviously he will cleanse it and he will also, I think, refurbish it so that that temple will become the most glorious of all the temples and that will be the third temple.
Malachi chapter 3 verse 1 and there are other verses but Jesus will come back and it will be to his temple and he will cleanse it of the desecration by the Antichrist and establish his rule on the earth from there. Thank you so much from Benjamin and Clearwater and we’re now going to go to, let’s see here, in Lakeland, Florida and Tom welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi Dr. Lynch, my question is this, in a New Testament in a couple of places it says the elders and the deacons should be the husband of only one wife and I’ve been divorced before and I wanted to do some service in the church but I wonder if one wife met because of the The old-day’s monizony or…
You know, you never could be divorced. I believe that you could never be divorced. It’s a husband and one wife for the lifetime. That doesn’t mean you cannot serve. And you cannot serve in the church. It doesn’t mean that at all. But those particular offices, I don’t believe you can be divorced and serve in those capacities because I think that is the role models for the families of the children. And when the children and when the families in the church say, well, the pastor has been divorced or, hey, several of our deacons have been divorced.
that it’s okay then to be divorced. And I think that’s the message. And God wants to keep the sanctity of marriage and he wants to keep that preserved within the church. But we have a lot of men in our church that have been divorced that are serving in many different capacities and really richly being used by the Lord. So you need to be creative and find out where God can use you. And there’s lots of opportunity. without hacking actually holding those offices so that’s what i would seek and i believe that is the answer commentary about quite a meet who you know i was wondering if that’s what they meant because of david and some others had that multiple wives you know yeah but that’s not what it’s talking about there in the new testament and of course david and saw them both were wrong
in having multiple wives and they had the problems that went along with it if you read how god that chasing them because of that and obviously sawman lost the kingdom and became really, God became very angry with Solomon because of what happened with his wives. Well, we have to go to break and we’ll come back and do a second half hour. This is Bible and I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and I want you to stay tuned. We’ll take a short break, we’ll come right back and we’ll do a second half hour.
So don’t go away. We’ll be right back after this short break. Don’t go away, Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Anke Lindstrom, and it’s great to be with you as we come to you live from our studios in Tampa with the Bibleline program. God bless all of you who pray for and give the Bibleline. You’re the ones who keep this program on the air. And again, I want to thank you for your words of encouragement, for your prayers, and for your gifts the Bibleline, because this is what pays the bills and allows us to be on the stations.
You know, the station’s charged to be for us to be on the air and some of it’s quite expensive. And so, in order to be on the air in your area, we have to pay those stations. And to remain on the air in your area, it requires us to be able to pay those stations. And if an area doesn’t have any giving to support the program in that area, line might have to drop that particular area. That would be sad.
So if you want to keep this program going in your area, let me encourage you to give a gift to my blind. You can do that today. By credit card you can call and ask if you can give a gift by credit card and we can do that today. Our operators are standing by to help you. And also you can also ask for an envelope to be sent and mail your gift in. We’re really very lean and efficient. We don’t pay any salaries and so the money’s really enabled us to be able to reach out and we’re reaching out all over the country and through the internet all over the world.
And we thank God because it really is a blessing. We just don’t have the funds to be able to do it ourselves and we couldn’t be on the air unless our audience supported us. So we hope that you would participate and consider praying for us. And then number two, giving to Bibleline and being a part of this ministry. We have lots of resources and I hope you’ll take advantage. The problem today is we have too many people reading books about the Bible rather than the Bible.
And then oftentimes the books they read about the Bible are really far off track. You have to be careful today about what you read. in the days of Paul, Paul told Timothy to be careful what he read. Isn’t that amazing? I’m sure that they didn’t have the books that we have available to us today or the information available to us that is available to us today. And even then Paul cautioned Timothy to be careful what he read. You need to be careful what you read.
And too often Christians are reading too many books and not reading the Bible itself. And that’s where we go astray. But if you’re looking for good books to help you learn your Bible, we have them in our resource center. Call us for a resource sheet or look it up on our Internet. We’re going to go to and do the second half hour Bibleline right now. If you’d like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.
Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for that break and this is Bibleline. It’s wonderful to be able to be with you and We’re coming to you live from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church. And we’re just excited about being able to communicate with you and be with you and talk about the Bible with you and answer your questions. And by the way, in Tampa, in the Tampa Bay area, you can hear our program seven days a week because we’re on over the weekend as well on Saturday and Sunday at 10 o’clock in the morning, Eastern Standard Time.
If you have internet, you can catch our programs anytime of day or night from anywhere in the world by just going to the internet and clicking on our home page at BibleLineMinistries.org. And when you get there, click on the spinning globe, you’ll get radio, click on the TV set, you’ll get television, click on the camera and you’ll get our worship services, click on the online bookstore and you’ll get our resource center. And there’s so much there that you’ll be able to take advantage of.
By the way, Bibleline began just a few years ago and we had the opportunity to go on the air for 15 minutes. And I was really praying about that because it was expensive for 15 minutes, it was expensive and it didn’t have the money. And I said, Lord, do you want us to go on here? We don’t have the money. How can we possibly do that?” And I had a couple of weeks to make up my mind. I was praying we were down to the final day of Friday when I had to make a decision, yes, accept it or let somebody else take that fifteen minutes.
As I was praying in my office and looking out the window, a car pulled into the parking lot and I stepped up to the gentleman I hadn’t seen for years. He came in and when he greeted me, handed me a check and I just put it in my shirt pocket and we talked for a while. He said, aren’t you going to look at that check? I said, well, if you’d like me to, I will. And he said, this is something that God has laid on my heart.
And whatever God is telling you to do, I want this check to go for that. And I pulled the check out of my pocket and looked at it and it was for $30,000. And I told him the story. I said, I’ve been sitting here praying about whether God would have us go on the radio and And here God provided $30,000 and that allowed us to get going and start to build an audience where people would support the program and keep us on the air.
Then the door opened for another, for a half hour program and I said, Lord, how can we afford to do that? We’re barely able to pay for the 15 minutes. And again, the Lord gave me the desire to do that half hour, and we took it on faith, not knowing how we’d pay for it, but the Lord raised up the funds that we were able to pay for that half hour. And then after a period of time, God opened the door for a full hour.
And we said, Lord, how could we do that? We can hardly pay for that half hour. How could we pay for an hour? And you know, we went ahead in faith and did that and the Lord raised up the money to be able to pay for the full hour. And then we decided we would try another station and then another. And now we’re on many stations across the U.S. and on the Internet around the world. It really is a miracle ministry because it’s certainly not because we’ve had the resources or the funds to be able to do this.
We’ve never had it. We’ve always had to trust God in His wonderful ability to supply. It’s because of people like you that are listening that really appreciate this program and prayerfully pray for us and give to this ministry that we’re on the air. And I just wanted to say thank you and I wanted to let you know the story in case you hadn’t heard it and let you know that we still have those needs to be able to reach out with the the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We need your partnership to carry this program out. Would you consider giving a gift to Bible this month? That’s right. Would you consider doing that? Investing in eternity, investing in souls, investing in the gospel going out? Well, you could do that by simply picking up your telephone and calling and asking you The operators and telling them that you’d like to give a gift by credit card over the phone or you could ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it and then mail your gift in or you can go to our website BibleLineMinistries.org and give it on our online bookstore.
But I want to thank all of you who give and I want to thank you in advance for those that are making decisions today to give. We could use your help. It seems like we’re always running so close and the Lord always seems to be to take us right to the last day sometimes and provides what we need to be able to pay those bills and stay on the air. It’s a real exciting adventure. It certainly has been for me to see how God can supply and how He takes care of our needs on a daily basis.
And wow, it’s something you could be a part of. As you watch Bible on, bring the gospel to people and how we are being able to expand down a little bit at a time, reaching further and further with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We sure are excited about that and we trust that you’ll help us and be a part of that. We’re going to go to Jerry. He’s in Plant City, Florida. And Jerry, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air.
Morning, Father. Hi. I’ve got some young people here with me and they would like for you to explain Hebrews Chapter 10 versus 26 through 29 and I told them you could do a far better job market So I’m gonna hang up And we’ll listen to it. Thanks a lot and have a good day. Okay, Jerry. Thank you so much That is confused a number of people and there are several Verses of Hebrews that seem to do that I have done a 10-hour series on CD where we go over all the difficult passages.
You’ll notice, though, in verse 26 that the writer of Hebrews, who obviously is saved, includes himself in the we of that verse. He says, for if we, so obviously these are believers that are being addressed. He’s talking here to other believers and including himself. And he says, if we sin willfully after we receive the knowledge of the truth, And that’s talking about willful sins, and I think most sins are willful. I think most people, if you’re honest with yourself, you know what you’re doing when you sin and you deliberately do that.
And so we obviously need to own up to that. It could be translated though we sin willfully because it’s obvious that many of our sins are willful sins. And then it talks here about after having received the knowledge of the truth, I believe that means our salvation experience. So here it talks about what happens when a Christian sins willfully after he becomes saved. And what it says here right up front is that there remain no more sacrifice for sins.
What that means is that the one time sacrifice of Christ was sufficient to save you forever. That’s the theme of this chapter. It says in verse 10 by the will of God we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Verse 12 tells us in chapter 10, this man Christ after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever. Set down on the right hand of God. Verse 14 says, by one offering, he has perfected forever those that are sanctified.
Then it says in verse 17, there are sins and iniquities. Well, I remember no more. And here if you have your pen there and you can mark your Bible. Look at verse 18. Now where remission of these is, that is your sins, there is no more offering for sin. I have taken the phrase in verse 18, no more offering for sin and circled it. What it is saying is that once God has forgiven your sin, all of it past, present and future, you don’t need another offering.
You don’t in and of the sacrifice. It was the one time the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary that totally paid your sin debt. Matthew 8, 26, it uses the phrase in the last part of the verse, no more sacrifice. I’ve circled that and I’ve tried to go on the line back to verse 18, where in verse 18 where God is forgiven your sin, there remains no more offering, there’s no additional sacrifice, other or additional sacrifice necessary because Jesus paid it all.
Verse 26 says, even though you sin willfully after you’ve been saved, after you’ve received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sin. You don’t need another sacrifice, you’re still saved. But then the following verses talk about God’s chastisement and it says if you’re going to sin willfully as a Christian, And you can expect that God will interfere in your life. And it tells us here in verse 30, the Lord will judge. His people. Verse 31 says, it’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Then the rest of the verses to the end of the chapter tell us that we need to get serving again and recognize that our service for God will bring about great rewards. It says in verse 35 of chapter 10, cast not away, therefore your confidence or your assurance which hath great recompense of reward. So the chapter is saying, if you continue to sin wolfily, God’s going to thank you. He might even take you home to heaven early. But what it’s saying is that don’t go that route.
Start serving the Lord again, recognizing that as you serve Him, that God is going to reward you for that and you’ll have blessings here and blessings in heaven. And it’s talks here about Jesus coming back at the end of the chapter and that we need to be patient. Verse 36, that after we have done the will of God, after we have served Him, that we would then receive the rewards that He will offer us when we see Him. Then verse 37 says, yet a little while, and He that shall come will come and will not tear you.
So Christ is going to come, and He will come right on schedule. And when He comes, if we are just patient and serve the Lord and are faithful to Him, we are going to have a lot of rewards in heaven for our faithful service. But He is saying, if you going to continue to sin willfully, you don’t need to be saved again. You don’t need another sacrifice. Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross was sufficient to pay for every sin that you would ever commit in your whole life.
So you don’t need another sacrifice, but you do need to straighten your life out and start serving Lord and earning rewards, or God is going to spank you. And it’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. God can take your life, He can obviously make your life miserable and you don’t want to have that happen gerry thank you so much i hope that helps and we appreciate that call and we’re now going to go to john and he’s in use this florida and john welcome to bible and you’re on the air and the morning pass i can say to you very dear friend even though i never met you and i think you put a work to do in there in keeping this radio program on the air.
My question is Romans chapter 9 verse 28. If you could explain that place. I’ll be happy to John and I’m turning there right now. Romans chapter 9. In verse 28. Verse 28. I’m almost there. Chapter 9. Verse 28, where it says, for he will finish the work is that it? Catch and cut it short in righteousness because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. I believe it’s talking about God’s purpose here on the earth that he’s going to obviously turn to the Gentiles in this past two thousand years and then go back and complete his promise to the nation of Israel.
The chapter begins here with Paul having a great desire to win the Jewish people to Christ because he was Jewish and he didn’t want them to go to hell. But yet he recognized that God has now turned to the Gentiles and he’s talking about it. It’s not going to be a long deal. I believe that there’s probably only going to be 7,000 years of human history total. That the creative week of Genesis is really a microcosm of the whole of human history.
There were seven days God rested on the seventh day and the six days represent the six days from Adam till the second coming and then God will bring the earth to a place of rest during the Millennial Kingdom and during that seven thousand years the earth will be at peace, Christ will be ruling here on the earth and we’re almost there. You know So if you look at your Bible and you look at the Usher’s notes there on calculating the genealogies and the time, he puts Adam here at 4000 years BC.
And that means from Adam to Christ was 4000 years or equivalent of the first four days of the recreated week. And then from Christ till now it has been 2000 years more or day five and six now have expired and we’re at the end of the week and so the seventh thousand years is about ready to take place and what Paul is saying here is that the Lord is going to make a short work here On the earth, and cut it short in righteousness.
And so the Lord is going to come back and establish His Kingdom. And then it says in verse 29. As Isaiah said before, except the Lord of Sabbath, have left us a seed. We have been in Sodom and been made like unto Gomorrah. But He’s talking here about how that God would continue to help people get saved down through time and that the nation of Israel will one day experience that wonderful kingdom that God has promised to them where they will be the head nation and Christ will be their king ruling over Israel from Jerusalem during the millennium.
So I believe that’s what it’s saying is that this short work is about ready to conclude here and we’ll have that 7,000 years coming upon us any time and then at the end of that the earth is destroyed there’ll be a new heavens and new earth and will be into eternity but as far as God’s plan for man on the planet. It’s a short work. Oh boy. Talk about living in the last days. I think we’re right there at the edge of it.
Yes, sir. And you keep looking up because Jesus thinks coming. Amen. Thank you, John. Thank you. God bless John up and use this part. We now have Mark. He’s listening in Huntington, West Virginia. And Mark, we welcome you to the Bible and program. Thanks for tuning in today. Mark, you’re there. Mark, you’re on the air. Hello, Mark. Hello, Mark. I think somehow we lost that. We’ll try to get Mark back and so let’s see what happens and maybe he’ll dial us right back and we’ll get him up on the air.
Sometimes when they wait, they forget that we’re still waiting for him. We’re now going to go to Dave in Albany, New York, and Dave, welcome to Bibleline. Hey, Dr. Hank, how are you doing? Good. Listen, I just want to ask you why it is that you’re so kind to the spreaders, because are they free to enroll in gospel? I mean, can’t we just say that they’re lost because they are free to enroll in gospel? Well, you know, I try to keep myself contained a little bit because you You know, the Bible is very clear that when you cross over certain lines, you’re in trouble with God and a lot of doctrinal positions today are clearly wrong according to the Bible.
And I try to instruct people in the Bible so that they can recognize those false positions and recognize that they should have no part with them. So I would recommend that you become very familiar with your Bible and when you find in a church or sitting under bad doctrine that you would, as the Bible says, have no fellowship with the Unproofed Works of Darkness, but it says avoid them. So we’re to come out from among them and be separate and hopefully you can find a good church which is right on target with all these doctrines in God’s Word.
They’re hard to find. I know that. You sure welcome in. I try to just be positive and teach the Word. We have now Mark in Huntington, West Virginia. Welcome back and we’re glad to have you on the Bible and program. Hi, Dr. This is Mark. I’m calling today. I’m a first-time listener. As a matter of fact, I’ve just found your station. I’ve enjoyed your college area. The reason I’m calling is I heard your statement on last hour about the bishop and the deacon in marriage.
Then ask your question. If a person married to a woman, let’s say her husband, it’s… or your call is breaking up Mark. I don’t know if you’re on a cell phone or what, but I missed the entire question. Can you restate it? Maybe I can get it. Pardon me? I missed that question. Your phone line broke up and it just kind of was a little bits and pieces and I couldn’t understand the question. So we have the Bishop or Elder or Deacon and what was your case that you brought up?
Somehow we’re having trouble with that phone line and we’re losing Mark. Anyway, the question is, if you read Titus and you read 1 Timothy, both those chapters describe the requirements for a church pastor or leader, Elder Deacon, and it says they’re the husband of one wife, and I believe that it means exactly that. The problem we are having today is that divorce is so rampant that if you have a first time marriage, there’s less than a 50% chance that it will survive.
That is tragic. In fact, the institution of marriage is in danger today. And that’s just unbelievable, isn’t it? Over 50% of first time marriages are going to fail. It’s interesting that it doesn’t matter, it seems, whether the people attend church or not, it just seems to be across the board. That is really sad. That’s even more sad. But we’re seeing that happen. I think today we just are living in the last days. Obviously we’re not really focused on the Lord and on His Word.
You just go back a hundred years ago and this was not happening. It just was not happening. My parents celebrated 66 years of marriage before they died 66 years together. Wow They deserved a special plaque 66 years together never married anybody else never divorced and I was fortunate to be raised in a family like that But we don’t have much of that anymore. And today, marriages are falling apart, left and right. Our society is coming apart. And it’s all a part of the end time signs.
And obviously, people in churches are saying, what do we do? Well, they just bend the rules because it’s very difficult to find people that have not been divorced to be deacons and elders and pastors. And so they bend the rules. Well, I don’t believe that we’re to bend the rules or to believe or bend the Bible. were to take the Bible for what it says and try to stand by the truths of God’s Word. And that’s obviously going to rub some wrong that have been through a divorce whether it was their fault or not.
It’s still the problem becomes one of the leadership being role models for the families and the children in the church that marriage is to be a lifelong commitment. I hope that answer will help and I don’t know what else to say that I believe it means exactly that. And the rules are being left and right today and people don’t even pay attention to the Bible anymore as a book that should be taken literally and I believe it should be.
I’m Dr. Ancklin Strem and this is Bible and then again let me share with you that we are in need of your support. We are listeners supported and we have leaped out a little bit further here in the past month and we’re excited about that. We believe that we’re running against the clock. Jesus is coming back and we want to reach out as far as we can to as many as we can with the scriptures, with the gospel, with a clear message on salvation so that we can reach the lost and also have people within the church, the body of Christ be clear on how to witness, to reach their families, how to reach their children and their grandchildren with the gospel.
And so we need your financial help to be able to pull that off. And we’re not really trying to get your money because we don’t pay any salaries. Our money is going directly back into getting this message out. And I would hope that you’d like to be a part of that. If you would, you could call and give a gift by credit card today over the telephone. You could also call as for an envelope to be sent and mail your gift into Bibleline and you could also go to our online bookstore at our website BibleLineMinistries.org and there you’ll be able to give a gift on our secure website to the Bibleline program.
God bless all of you who pray for and give to Bibleline. Thank you in advance for your concern and your investment. I believe God will reward you richly as you invest in eternity. These are last days I believe the person who does not give is the loser because when you’re investing in the things that are eternal, I think you have to do that wisely. If you’re giving to a ministry that’s teaching a false message, you’re going to come out negative because your investment will not bring about the reward you thought it would in heaven.
The Bible warns about that in 2nd John that you lose not the reward you could have had by not being a wise investor. You need to give where the doctrine is clear. The Word of God is given out. Souls are being saved. People are being stirred to get into the Bible and share it with others and to stand for the truth. And I believe the Bible is doing that. We see people standing up for the truth and taking a stand on doctrine and sharing the gospel and winning their lost family and friends to Christ and we believe that your investment in the Bible and ministry will bring about great rewards for you because we believe God is blessing Bible and in any case we love you whether you give or not but we do need your help we want to reach the world.
And as much as God will allow us, we’re going to proclaim this gospel to as many people as we can. And with more of you supporting us, we’ll be able to assure that these programs will continue in your area. If you’ve never trusted Christ, you need to do that. Just whisper a prayer, say Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I believe Jesus Christ died for me. Paid my sin, dead and full was buried and rose again from the dead.
The moment you’re trying to do that, you’re going to be in the right place. Trust him, God will save you and he saves you eternally. He’ll never lose you. He’ll never cast you out. We also have Bible and music for children. If you go to our website, go to the online bookstore and on every page there’s a vertical banner. If you click on that, you’ll be able to sample some wonderful children’s albums that you can put your child, your grandchild, your nephew and niece’s name in there.
And I’m telling you, it works with my own grandchild. He just stops dead in your tracks when we put on that CD and it talks about her as her name is repeated 45 times throughout that program. It’s exciting. Check it out. I’ve got a run on Dr. Englunds from saying goodbye for today. I’ll be back again tomorrow and Lord willing you’ll be there listening and have a great day. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.

We sure enjoy being with you here on Bibleline as much as you hopefully enjoy listening to the program. It’s exciting really to see the gospel going forth.
I was raised in church. I was confirmed and baptized, homogenized, pasteurized, capsized, and I never heard the gospel. Nobody ever told me how to be saved. Nobody ever gave me straight answers to my questions. It was such a disappointment as a little boy. I began to look for my answers in another way. I went on to graduate in Electoral Engineering from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. And I made science my God. I felt, wow, maybe science will satisfy the deepest needs of my soul.
And it was there that got interrupted and intercepted my life. And I chose to, I got saved right out of high school and chose to live for Christ while I was in college and became a servant of Christ. And I determined from the very get-go that I was going to tell it like it was whether Either people liked it or didn’t like it as much as I could to tell it in love, but I would not compromise what I believed the Bible to teach.
And you know, I wish that I hadn’t had clear teaching when I was a little boy. I think I would have trusted Christ when I was much younger, but I never heard it. I never heard it at all. I was raised in a false church. And it’s something that is tragically too often the case today where people are raised in church and yet they know nothing about the Bible. They don’t know how to be saved. And nobody tells them anything significant that would help you grow as a believer.
And of course if you don’t get saved then you can’t even grow. So it’s just a total mess. Please pray for Bible. And as we try to turn the time and bring people back to the Bible and get them into God’s Word and give him clear, concise answers right from the Word of God. I’m Dr. Englund, and I have to run, but we’re going to be back tomorrow. Tell your friends about the program, would you? And go to our internet site and check it out BibleLineMinistries.org, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. We surely believe that. And I believe He’s coming soon. I’m Dr. Englund, and say goodbye. We’ll see you tomorrow. God bless.
