Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast.

We look forward to being with you every day Monday through Friday. And here we are on Monday and we’re coming to you live from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor. Thanks for tuning in. We’d love to get to meet you sometime. I hope you’ll come by and see us. If you’re coming in from out of state, we’re right next to the Tampa International. National Airport. Very easy to find because we’re just a block west of the main north-south runway.

So if you get more than a block away from the airport, you’re probably getting lost. So come on by and see us. If you live in the area, certainly you can come by and visit our resource center every day. You can come by and visit a worship service. We’d love to have you do that and I hope you will. By the way, you can catch our services and our radio programs on the internet. If you go to BibleLineMinistries.org, BibleLineMinistries.org, you can catch, if you click on the spinning globe, you can catch the radio programs.

If you click on the camera, you can get the worship services. And we have people from all over the world that actually are listening and watching our worship services. We have By years worth of sermons sitting in archive, you can watch about two years or rather listen to two years of radio programs that are all going to be available. This week we have a special thing coming up here, Thursday night, the 11th of September 9-11. We have Gushan Solomon coming from Jerusalem and he’s the man who’s been cutting the stones for the Third Temple.

I think you’ll find it fascinating if you come and listen to what he has to say and we’re getting close to the Lord’s return because we know that once we leave at the Rapture, the third temple will be rebuilt according to Bible prophecy and the preparations have been made. And I think you’ll be excited by coming out and hearing and shaking hands with and getting to meet the man who’s actually been cutting the stones for the Third Temple. I’m excited.

It’ll be first, seven o’clock, 9-11 here at the headquarters of Bible and at Calvary Community Church. We’re located just the block west of Tampa’s International Airport. So if you can come on this Thursday, that’s this week, 9-11. We’ll be having Gershahn Solomon and we invite you to come. If you’re living in an area where you cannot come, we will be taping it on CD and also on DVD so you’ll be able to get that later if you want to watch it and you’ll catch all the information that’ll be given.

So that’s Thursday 9-11 right here at Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. By the way, we have our wonderful Resource Center. We have lots of wonderful books in our Resource Center and including the Schofield Reference Bible. That’s what I use. The notes are geared to doctrine and are so helpful they’ll keep you right on track and I hope that you’ll get one. Now when you go to the Christian bookstore they’ll try to sell you the new hybrid which is inferior.

You want to get the 1909 or the 1917 edition, which is the one with Dr. Schofield’s notes. The later ones, they’ve added new notes, not by Dr. Schofield. Notes I would disagree with. And they’ve made other changes, which I think really do appreciate the value of the Bible. In fact, they’ve watered down a lot of the Schofield notes so they don’t read as strongly and as clearly as they once did when Dr. Schofield wrote them. So you might want to check that out.

Plus we have, um, numerous teachings of line on CD. We just finished recently the book of Peter. We got 10 hours of teaching on first Peter. We’ve got 10 hours of teaching on second Peter. I think you’ll love that series. We also have the Gospel of John. 20 hours of teaching we’ve broken into two halves so you can get part one, 10 hours of John or part two, 10 hours of John for a total of 10 hours. We are talking about a trip to Israel in February of next year.

If you’re interested at all please cause and we’ll be glad to send you the brochure. Just gives your name and address and we’ll mail that right out today and Hopefully you will plan to go with us. It’ll be leading February 23rd 10 days in Israel And we’ll be flying with El al but if you’d like to get in on the extra extension a 7-day extension leaving seven days earlier We’ll go to Egypt We’ll go to a lot on the Red Sea.

We’ll go to the rock Red City of Petra in southern Jordan where we believe the Jewish people will flee From the Antichrist during the tribulation period We’re gonna be getting into the Bible and then we’ll be taking our cars You might want to write down the phone number. It’s 1-800-576-3771 That’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call, we’ll get you up and get ready to put you up on the air. And by the way, here we are approaching the end of this month, which is the Feast of Trumpets, and it’s possible that this is when the Lord would come and take us out.

And that means the rapture. And we believe that’s because the feast days were prophetic pictures of Christ coming. And he fulfilled the Passover by dying exactly when the Passover was being observed. Jesus died exactly when the Passover land was being offered up. And the Bible tells us he was the fulfillment of that feast day. 1 Corinthians 5, 7, for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. And then we learn that the Feast of Unleavened Bread spoke of his body and his burial, and he was buried during that feast day.

He came back from the dead on the Feast of First Fruits, which always occurred on the Sunday, and he has called the first fruits of the resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15. fulfill that feast day. And then on the fourth feast, the feast of Pentecost, this church age began and it began on the Sunday on the feast of Pentecost and we believe the fifth feast, the feast of Thrombacil, conclude this age and that will turn back to this purpose for Israel.

So that one by the way is this September 30th and is a two day celebration So it will be also including October 1st. It could be if this is the year, we don’t know what year it’s going to happen, but if it’s this year, we could be leaving the planet in about three weeks and wouldn’t that be exciting? So I don’t know. We don’t know the date. We’re not setting a date, but it is interesting to watch and to speculate and to look for the return of Christ.

And he’ll come on the Feast of Trumpets, I believe, whatever year he comes, and wouldn’t that be something that he came this year. Well in any case we are running out of time. Time is running out. Turn if you will in your Bibles to Hosea chapter 5. What an amazing passage. Hosea chapter 5. We have here a prophetic passage that lets us in on the numbers as to when Christ would return. It tells us here, and I believe that these are prophetically the words of Jesus Christ when He came the first time here to be our Savior.

If you read with me, Hosea, chapter 5, and if you look at verse 15, it says here, I will go and return unto my place. I believe that’s Jesus. The words are almost the same as in the New Testament. And when he was rejected, he said he was going to go back to his place, where he came from. And there he was going to prepare a place for us. And many says here, tell they, the Jewish people, that is, acknowledge their offense.

Here they had rejected him, the one who had Um. He came to the temple and they didn’t recognize him. They didn’t accept him, but they rejected him in the fact in Matthew 12. As they admired the temple, they almost worshiped the temple. Jesus said to them, there is one standing here. That’s greater than the temple. Wow, think about it. He’s talking about himself. He is the one for him to temple.

God Himself and the temple is created to be His house and He says, there is one standing here that is greater than the temple. While they rejected Him and so He says, I am leaving Him. Going back to heaven, the New Testament record tells us the same thing and then it goes on to say, and they shall seek by face and they shall seek me in afflictions and they shall seek me early. And we have seen now that the Jewish people finally go back to the land as they have been afflicted and persecuted around the world.

The latest of course was Hitler who killed so many Jewish people. Chapter 6 now goes on and continues the story and here we have the cry of the Jewish people and they say, come and let us return unto the Lord. For he hath torn, and he will heal us. He hath smitten, and he will bind us up. Verse 2 I want you to pay special attention to Hosea 6.2. It says here, after two days, will he revive us? That’s the Jewish people will be revived as a nation.

And in the third day, we shall live in his sight. Well, isn’t that interesting? We know that the Jewish people will be living in the sight of the Messiah here on the earth during the thousand year rule of Christ. That thousand years is called the day of the Lord. And so here is a thousand year day. Now we have the answer. If the third day is a thousand years in length, then the first two days have to also be a thousand years in Lincoln, but it’s really saying here, let me read it.

Ozea 6.2, after two thousand years, will he revive us, the Jewish people? And in the third thousand years, he will raise us up and we shall live in his sight. Wow! My friend, how long has it been since Jesus was here and was rejected and left? It’s been two thousand years. The two thousand years are up. are right there on the very edge of the 2000 years being completed and then what will happen? God’s going to raise the Jewish people up and he will rule over them and they will live in his sight while he’s visibly, visibly ruling over the earth from Jerusalem.

Does that excite you? I’ll tell you, this is exciting. It actually tells us that it would be 2000 years between the first temple and the second temple, or rather the temple that was there in the time of Christ and this third one that’s coming up. Jesus, when he went into the temple, he said, there’s one standing here that’s greater than the temple. They rejected him, and then he predicted with great preciseness the destruction of that temple, and it was destroyed by the Romans in 8070.

There is no temple right now. But then he goes on to say in chapter 24, Matthew, when he was asked what would be the sign of his coming, he talks about another temple that will be built during the tribulation period and then he will come back. So guess what? We are about ready to see that take place. The Christians are watching. The Jewish people have been preparing. I just got back from Israel, trip number 15, and I’ve never seen such, I guess, consensus among the people that they wanted to get that temple built back.

I saw signs in the stores, I heard conversations, and the things are all prepared and ready to go, and the Jewish people are anticipating a third temple. I think that means we’re close to the Lord’s return. Have you trusted Price as your savior? If you haven’t, you need to do that. I was led to believe that salvation was earned and it was by works! I was always under the impression that when I died there would be a great big scale in heaven.

There would be great big books that would be brought out that recorded all the things you did in your life. That when your name was called they would open the books and they would read off the good things and the bad things that you had done. Angels would assist. They would put weights on the scale to represent the good things and the bad things. and it wants to scale. Teeter, totter, back and forth, and you hope for the best that you had enough good works that way are bad works, and therefore be ushered into heaven.

Guess what? Most such thing in the Bible, that is absolutely a fabrication of the devil. You will not find it in scripture. There is no scale. The Bible says salvation is not of works, Ephesians 2, 9. It is not of yourself, Ephesians 2, 8. It is not of works, not of keeping the law or by anything that we would do. The whole book of Romans I think makes that super clear. It’s by Jesus Christ. You see it was His death that provided for our salvation.

Let me just read for a second from Romans 5. Romans 5. And it says here that God commended, verse 8, his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, or in the state of sinning Christ died for us. Verse 9 of Romans 5. Much more than being now, not later, but now justified by his blood. How were we justified before God? It’s not by our works. It’s by his blood, Romans 5 and 9, much more than being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him because of his blood shed at the cross.

We’ll be saved from the wrath of hell. Then it says in verse 10, if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by not our good works, not Church membership, not by what we do for God, but by the death of his son, much more being reconciled, who shall be saved than my Bible reads by his life. Not by life. It’s amazing to me. Most of Christianity gets this backwards and they put the focus on your life and what you’re going to do and what you need to do and ultimately if you continue to do it, you’ll make heaven one day and that’s of course a lie.

We are not saved based upon what we do. We are saved based upon what Christ did for us and were justified by his blood, by his life and therefore saved from the wrath of hell and delivered to be with him forever. And the Lord is coming. He’s coming soon. And I think that we ought to be excited and looking and watching for that return. I’m Dr. Englunds from all of our phone lines are lighted up. We invite you to call at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771, and by the way we have Gersharn Solomon coming from Jerusalem this Thursday night, 9-11 at 7 o’clock and he’ll be talking about the temple being rebuilt and he has been cutting the stones for 40 years.

It ought to be exciting. We’re going to have a video recorded for you and you’ll be able to get that if you’d like to be there in a sense of the meeting by hearing the recording or watching the DVD. We have Claude in Toronto, Canada, Canada and Claude welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Claude over there? Yes. Okay, you’re on the air. Good morning. Good morning. On Friday you had a lot of people calling in and being the anti-Christ.

Yeah, I have no idea who the anti-Christ is and none of this will know and we won’t be revealed till after the rapture so anything we say now is just pure speculation. That’s 20. Your, your, your, um, this man. Well, if you familiar with the church that he comes from, it’s Black Liberation Theology, which really is not Christian at all. What they do is they use Christian terms to, uh, to promote their, uh, their, uh, social agenda. And, uh, this has been a clever thing that’s been done by not only the Black Liberation Theologists, but others where they talk about salvation.

But they don’t mean from hell to go to heaven. and they talk about redemption. They don’t mean from hell or to be delivered from the penalty of sin. They’re talking about social redemption, to be delivered from the get-hoed, to have a better lifestyle, to be able to interact in better in their community and so on and so on, to get better jobs and better pay. Has nothing to do with Christ at all. Go ahead and take a look and you’ll, I think, find it impossible to find a clear statement about how to go to heaven from the Reverend wrongs church in Chicago.

What I’m trying to say is that coming out of that church, I would suspect that the language is a disguised language. It means something different than it means to you and me. It doesn’t mean that he believes in Christ as a savior to save you from hell, but as revolutionary who would make social change and I believe that’s the emphasis if you read carefully what Obama is saying he believes Christ was the greatest revolutionary that ever came and he’s not talking about taking you to heaven.

Nobody’s saying about John McCain that he’s gonna be the Antichrist or whatever I was reading an e-book for the 6th yesterday and I named Barack and he’s a man of faith. The name means stateful and everything like that. So they are supposed to name Barack to the Muslim name, but it’s a biblical name. name. I I don’t know the answer I mean McCain might be the Antichrist I have no idea .

who the Antichrist is. I just know we’re living close and we can have fun speculating and I just know that not everybody who claims that they are a Christian are a Christian like it says in Matthew 7 22. Many will say, Lord, Lord in that day and they’ll say, have it we preached in your name and healed in your name Christ will say to that group I never knew you. And the reason why is they bypass the cross and the blood and salvation by faith and they were attempting to be saved by their works and not by Christ.

So it’s a tricky game we have to listen very carefully to what people have to say because many who claim that they are Christians are not and the Bible is very plain to say that. It says many of those which go in at the broad way and fewer of those that find the narrow way and Christ of course is the way. He’s the narrow way. All under the same idea that you’re saying they say they’re Christians, they could be back to the way ever.

I agree. In fact, I think 90% of Christianity is a counterfeit. So what do you think about that? I think most of it is false. And every time I talk to somebody and I witness to them, I’m surprised again and again that they don’t know the gospel, they don’t know how to be saved. And they’re just following what they’ve been taught and they need to be evangelized. That’s why I’m on the air because I have a burden for those that are lost and my trust is to try to get people that are lost, say whether they be a church member or whether they be just a plain old heathen.

Okay, that was just my view. Good point. Yeah, thank you, Thod. That’s a good point and I appreciate your call letting us know that. Thank you so much. That was Thod. We’re going to go to Angel and St. Pete. Angel welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Sure That’s a heavy duty test with a lot of verses there, but basically God chose Between Jacob and Esau before they did anything good or bad While there was still in the womb which one would be the ones through whom the Messiah would come he never chose Jacob’s salvation .

. . . . . . He never chose Esau to be lost. And the quote there where he says, Jacob, I love them, Esau, I hate it, was hundreds and hundreds of years later after they had already lived and died and their descendants had come along for hundreds of years. That’s quoted from Malachi. And obviously, God made the right choice. And I think that’s what he’s saying. That he chose the one that was more spiritual to be the ones whom the Messiah would come.

The descendants of Esau were pretty much all very, very profane and not in secular and godless. And they never went in a path that sought out God. the sentence of Jacob are the ones who did. And although Jacob was not perfect, Jacob was the ones through whom he chose. And so God is not saying here that he chose one to be saved over the other, but he’s saying that his purpose of election, how that he would choose to save a person, not on the basis of works, but on the basis of his invitation, he would choose which one through whom the Messiah would come.

I got to go to break here so we’ll break this conversation off and again we’ll be back for a second half hour of Bibleline. Bibleline is listeners supported. We do need your help. If you could help us your gift would be tremendously appreciated. You could call and give a gift by credit card over the phone and by the way you’re investing in eternity and in the souls of those who are listening to this program. We have so many people every week we hear from people who get saved through by blind calling and and give a gift if you would will go break will be right back into a second half hour so don’t go away all the right back by the line will be back in a moment give us a call at one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one that’s one eight hundred five seven six thirty seven seventy one

all right i’m back from that short in a little bit and i’m so glad to be able to be with you today it’s uh… monday and we have a whole week ahead of us and i hope you’ll be joining us each and every day we’re excited about this Thursday having gershaun salman here from Jerusalem to tell us about the rebuilding of the third temple and his role in cutting the stones and how that the uh… jewish people apparently seem to be ready for the first time in two thousand years of history for the building of that temple.

I think we’re in the times that God spoke about and we’re getting close. So pray for those meetings that we’ll have and if you are in the area you can come, but otherwise you can order the CV or the DVD of that event this Thursday night 9-11 at 7 p.m. By the way we are going to Israel Lord willing if the Lord doesn’t come this year at the Feast of Trumpets which he might and if he does we’re not going to Israel.

If you haven’t come, you might want to call and get a copy of the brochure so you could maybe make plans to go with us. It’s an incredible trip and I’ve been 15 times, this will be number 16, we studied the Bible on location all day long and wow, you just will learn so much. It’s like a year’s worth of Bible training in a Bible college. I mean you’re just going to get a concentrated study all day long every day while you’re there and that’s going to be fantastic.

I hope you’ll go. We’ll go to the Dead Sea. We’ll go to the Sea of Galilee. We’ll go to the Mediterranean. We’ll go to the Hill of Calvary and we’ll go to the Tomb of Christ. We’ll see it all and we hope that you’ll be there with us as we travel over there this coming February 23rd. If you want, we have a seven day extension that would make it a total of a 17 day trip and that will take us to Egypt and the Cairo Museum and the Pyramids and the Nile River and we’ll go to a lot and then the city of Petra in southern Jordan which is really a city carved out of the rock.

40 square miles of city ready for the Jews to flee there from the Antichrist during the tribulation period. Well in the case we’re having fun and if you want to get some of our resources we have lots of teachings on many different topics. If you have a topic you are going to be a question about whether it would be baptism or predestination or salvation or a book of the Bible. We have CDs where I’ve taught on it I think most likely and you’ll be able to listen to Rosen.

We’re going to do a second and a half hour Bibleline, so we’re going to return to those stations that have been on break and hope you’ll stay with me. Here we go, part two of Bibleline. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. your guests and we’ll have a super time and this is the man that’s been cutting the stones and things are prepared for a third temple.

We’ve been seeing the evidence over the past couple of years as things have been accomplished to make sure that that temple worship came. Again, they’ve already practicing with those that are of the priestly tribe of co-house to make sure that they do it right. So, I mean once they build the building it’s not like, okay, if you’d like to sign up to work in the temple, they’ve already picked out for people. They already identified people that can demonstrate that they’re of the tribe of co-house.

They have to be not only from the tribe of Levi but particular family that that family alone according to Leviticus is eligible to handle the sacrifices and to work in the temple. So it’s exciting that they go right there and I hope you’ll come close the night and actually meet the man who’s maybe the man that God is using to build the temple that Christ will come back to. So that’s Thursday of this week. Also if you want to go on the trip to Israel with me, if the Lord doesn’t come and snatch just out this feast of trumpets.

We’ll leave February 23, 2009. And if you call and leave your address, we’ll send you a brochure. I’ll send it out today. And you’ll begin to look it over and make your decision. It’s going to be a great trip. Two parts is rule only for 10 days and then a 7-day extension to Egypt and Jordan and to a lot on the Red see which you’ll make it a 17 day trip if you do the whole trip. So you can look that over and make your decision and if you have any questions you can call me.

We were talking a little bit about Romans here and it says here about Moses. He said to Moses, God does in verse 15, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I’ll have compassion on whom have compassion. Well guess what? If you read the context here, God said he would have mercy on those that would trust Jesus as their Savior and he would not have mercy on those that do not trust Christ as Savior. So it’s not like God makes up your mind for you or makes you choice for you.

Nowhere is the Bible ever teach that, but God determined a long time ago, he says, I’m going to have mercy on those that I want to have mercy on, and I’m going to have no mercy on those that I don’t want to have mercy on. And here’s the difference. If you would believe on Christ, then I’ll have mercy on you. And if you notice later it talks about here the Gentiles in verse 30, which didn’t come under the teachings of Israel, yet it says they followed not after righteousness, but they They obtained the righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

So it’s talking about because they chose to trust Christ. God had mercy on them and He saved them because of their faith in Christ. So if you read the whole chapter, we go verse by verse. And if you want to get my Romans series, I’ve got a whole series of teachy of Romans that I go very carefully through these passages in Romans 9 and 10 and 11. I think you’ll find that very helpful, but nobody can say that God made the choice for you.

It is definitely your choice. We don’t have Dave in St. Petersburg and Dave. Welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Hello Pastor. I had two quick points and you had a caller on Friday’s show that said at the end of the world has been foretold over and over again and nothing has happened. And he probably doesn’t realize that his statement is actually fulfilling a Latter-day prophecy in 2 Peter 3, 3, 3, 4 knowing this first that there shall come and they will have to stay at scoffers walking after their own lust and saying where is the promise of is coming.

For since the father’s fell asleep all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation amen And then another thing about Daniel 70th week prophecy It’s just an interesting note that at a new seven years of radical cycle begins on Rolshashana September 30th could this be the 70th week Wow You know, there’s lots of little hints that we’re close to maybe this this will be the the rapture date this year I don’t know, but I’m I’m definitely not Living as though he weren’t I’m gonna say Lord.

You might come this year. So I’m gonna give it all I got Yes, that’s pretty interesting. Just want to tell her about there and start watching for the rapture. Thank you Dave. I appreciate that call that was Dave and Saint Pete. Yeah, those who scoff about where is Christ coming? that’s predicted in Peter Peter said that that’s exactly what would happen and and they’re fulfilling prophecy in doing that. And we’re now going to go to Curtis in Jacksonville, Florida.

Curtis, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, good morning Pastor. Good morning. I was since last I taught with your head of stroke. I’m so sorry to hear that. But I was calling to ask you a while back you gave references to the location of heaven. Now I would like you to repeat them for me please. All right. We talked about heaven being in the north in our universe. And if you look at Leviticus 1, 11 and 12, they would offer the sacrifices northward before the Lord.

So obviously when you offer a sacrifice northward it implies that the one you’re offering it to is in the north and That’s God so heaven is in the north. We find that Psalm 75 five tells us that salvation Comes from the north So it doesn’t come from the east to the west Or the south it comes from the north. So again the implication is the one who gives salvation is in the north In Isaiah 14, chapter 14 of Isaiah verse 13 and 14, Satan, when he went over, throw God and take over heaven, he said he wanted to go to the north.

He wanted to sit upon the Mount of the congregation in the sides of the north. So Satan wanted to go to the north. He knew that’s where God resided and he wanted to sit upon God’s throne. And Job 26-7 tells us that there’s an empty place, a void in the north, where there are no stars. Another I think reference to the fact that heaven is there in the north. So it’s void of stars, but yet that’s where the new Jerusalem exists and where the heavenly city that God lives in is right now.

So those are some of the exciting verses and I hope that helps you Curtis and we’ll be praying for him. Sorry about your stroke God bless you and thank you for calling in today All right, that was Curtis and we’re now going to go to Mary in Richmond, Virginia and Mary. Welcome to Bibleline good morning. Hey, good morning first off saying that I would not like to see such an inspirational program being turned into a political talk show. And I must say that I’m calling in reference to the Barack Obama.

And as an African-American mowing myself back in the early 60s, I too fought for political and some a believer in Yahweh Yeshua. And because I fight for political and social reform, does not take away my confession. And so I would suggest to those who are calling in with those kind of comments, let’s judge each one back their heart. And only our Father Yahweh, Yahoshua the Messiah knows their heart. And let’s keep this program spiritually clean and promote the Kingdom of God.

And on behalf of the vox, I don’t think that he would make a confession like that and not know Yeshua as his personal savior, yet fight for political and social reform. So let’s be careful with the program and let’s keep it inspirational and let all the naysayers and all those other folks, let’s just see what will happen and let that being so judgmentally gets on another. And we’ll say yes, I fight, I fought for social and political reform but I do confess sure as my personal favor that’s great well I pray that he is a Christian and I don’t know all I can do is wait and see like you say we’ll see that one day we’ll know that’s not turning to a political talk show let’s keep it as promotional and try to get as many souls into the kingdom of heaven as we can

amen well I didn’t think we turned it into a political show but it’s interesting the people are speculating And we have to just be cautious though. When we listen to what people say, that we have to ask ourselves, are they really a believer or are they not? And is this just a rhetoric that we hear within? And I see that every day in all kinds of denominations and with people every day that claim in one breath or a Christian and in reality they don’t really know the Lord.

Thank you Mary, I appreciate that calling. We’re going to now go to Rob in Port Charlotte, Florida. Rob, welcome to Bibleline you’re on here. Hi, I just had a question about where you’re talking about before when you say it’s not what you do to go to heaven. I realize that you have to believe in Jesus to make it to heaven. I also feel that it depends on what you do after you find Jesus in your life. Just from some of the things I was reading in the Bible, he was talking about people cats, not demons in his name when they went off to the gates of heaven.

He says, you wicked thing, I never knew you. And then, James also, Jesus’ brother said, what is faith is nothing without works? And Jesus said you have to take up your cross daily. And things like, he’s going to come like a thief in the night. and that’s something about, you know, like the people drinking, like the tropicals and beating their servants. And, you know, I just kind of feel like it’s, you know, just forgive you for whatever you do.

but you do have to take up your cross and take up all you do also. Well, that’s talking about discipleship. If you rightly divide the word, salvation is a gift that we receive received by faith and has nothing to do with our works at all, or we could have earned our way to heaven and Christ could have stayed and heaven never had to die. But then he says, except you follow me and take up your cross daily and so on, you cannot be my disciple.

And this is a totally different topic here. Judas, for example, was a believer, but Judas, Well, excuse me, Judas was a disciple, but Judas was never a believer. Judas went to hell because he never trusted Christ, and yet he was a disciple. So you can really get this thing backward. In John 664, Jesus said that he knew from the beginning who it was that believed not and who should betray him. And he was talking about Judas. So here is a person who is a disciple but not a believer.

Every believer ought to be common in a disciple, but not every believer is. If you become a disciple, the results are blessings and rewards. And the Bible makes that very clear that the disciple will receive a hundredfold return on his investment of his time, talents and treasures. Whereas the believer receives salvation because it’s totally purchased by Christ at Calvary. And if you read the Bible there and you read the New Testament letters, most of these believers were not disciples.

They were not living for Christ, and the letters were written to address the fact that they needed to become responsible because they were going to give it a count one day, and that would determine the degree of reward in heaven, or the degree of loss of reward. If you are delinquent, God will chase in you. And He promises to interfere in your life. If you read 1 Corinthians chapter 11, talks about the Corinthian believers, living all kinds of lifestyles after they became saved.

And He says that if we would judge ourselves, then we wouldn’t have to be judged. But when we as Christians are judged, we are chastened or disciplined of the Lord that we should not be condemned with the world. So the world is going to be condemned, we’re going to help, but we’re in a different ballgame where his children… And we’re disciplined by the Lord as He tries to get us on track to live a life that can be blessed and and salvation though has nothing to do with our works.

And there are many in the Bible that lived a negative life after they became saved and they were still saved. They never lost it. And the Bible promises that they would never lose it. Thank you, Rob. That was a good point and I’m glad you made it and hopefully that helps. helps and we’re now going to go on to tortilla in chester virginia or the welcome to my one you’re on there yeah higher there hello just a time yes it is ma’am work that time this is dot the baron i call you often not in just a bit yes and uh…

i heard on the radio from some of the uh… pastor and they are called a d o n a i referring to guard yes can you explain that to me if not in the uh… living bible routine games living bible that i’m looking at that that it’s a it’s a heavey word and the old testament it is one of the names for god it’s a de noi and i don’t know i means master or uh… uh… uh… it’s a term of respect And it’s oftentimes used before God’s personal name.

And so it’s Audenoy Yahweh, for example. And here we have the God of the universe that is deserving of our respect and our reverence and our admiration. And so Audenoy is a word like that. But they don’t usually give you the Hebrew word, you’d have to look that up. So in the King James, when you have Lord In small letters, L, capital L, and then little R and then D, that’s always odd and noise. When you have God in all capitals, or Lord in all capitals, L, capital, you know, O, capital R, capital D, capital, that is God’s personal name, which is Yahweh.

And so sometimes you have those two put together, but Illinois is a term of respect and the fact that he is the ruler of the universe. Well the reason I ask is men’s of mine that are Christians and they had never heard of this other. I’m a keen game diversion you know and then I’m looking at Jimi Swag. Say anything. I don’t know. Yes but it’s in the right and explanation there to know who is eternal. Find it a way of joy and rejoicing even in the wilderness.

Now that’s what I want to find out for sure because my friend didn’t understand this I’ve never heard of this. They had an old consolary. It’s for real and if you have a Schothiel Bible now it’ll point out that it is the Hebrew word and it defines it and shows how it’s used in connection with God’s personal name. But Audenoy is used throughout the Old Testament and if you do issue it here it used in the synagogue on a regular basis as the name for God, but it is not his main name.

It’s a name that simply is like Sir when you talk to somebody or Mr when you say a term is a respect in front of their name. So that’s the way she’s the Old Testament about God. Okay. Well now I do have your Bible too. I just don’t have it out here right now for But anyway, I have only asked you something else, but I know you’re at the best of time. And I keep remembering the question. Please stay on the air.

I just think you’re a guest and I hope that you received it soon. And if I think of that as a question, I will call you sometime and ask you about it. Okay. But I did want to know about this because it’s very important. You know, I can tell my question, friend. Wonderful. That was your? Thank you so much and God bless you. We now have Peter in Palm Harbor, Florida and Peter, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air.

Hello, Pastor. And if I’m off or I’m incorrect, you’re pleased with some of the previous callers. It seems to me that there’s an emphasis being placed on the actual profession or the confession of faith and not really understanding that salvation is really the belief and trust of the promise on Jesus in John chapter 12 says he did believe if I’m me believe not on me but on him that sent me. So it’s the promise of God the Father Jesus being desacrified the payment for our sins.

But the Salvation Plan being created by God the Father, that’s what our promise is. That’s what our trust is, is in that promise. If Ham says that he believed the promise of God and that’s what his salvation is. So in Matthew chapter 7, of course, Jesus says that many will state to me in that day, Lord, Lord. And I think that really goes into saying that it’s not the confession of the profession itself, it is the underlying belief and trust that each person has.

So the Bible clarifies again and says that only God knows and will judge the hearts and minds of men. So a deceiver, if you will, could say the things that may sound right, but truly in his heart, he may think something different. Am I off on this? No, I think you’re absolutely right. And it’s really that individual. They must trust Christ as their Savior. And for babies in clarification here, I remember when my sister got me onto the Bible study and I got saved the two of us, but my other brother, my other sister to Christ, and the four of us went after my mom and dad, and we got the whole family saved.

Then we went after the relatives and got granddad saved. But you know, we never really took for granted that Granddad was saved, even though he would confess the right words. Many ascend the old, never forget my dad and say, let’s get in the car to me. And let’s drive over and check out Granddad. And we’d get him in on the back porch. And we would grill him until we were absolutely convinced that he was on the same page with us, and he was trusting Jesus alone.

This is only hope of heaven. And when my Granddad finally died, there was no doubt in my mind, We had checked him out again and again and again. I think that’s something that we all want to do. Make sure our relatives, our loved ones, are saved. And we need to make sure that what they’re saying is in line with what the Bible is teaching and that they’ve really trusted Christ to be their Savior. And it’s not their confession that saves them.

It’s their personal trust in Jesus Christ as a Savior that saves them. And again, I think some people that maybe feel the peer pressure of like, let’s say, and maybe this was the case with your grandfather, you were talking about, your grandfather may have felt the peer pressure, everyone’s getting up on me. So I’d stay the right thing just to keep the heat off of me, and they may not really in fact believe that. And so, and I think as Christians, for me, what I understand the Bible to see and how I can judge, I don’t take the opportunity to judge somebody in terms of what their salvation is.

They say that they trust and the only thing that I’m left for me that I think to judge accurately is what are the things that they do and say after that apart from it, in other words, what are their works? Let me take a look at the things that are going on to see whether they are in line, but don’t I think I can challenge their salvation. I can look at the things that they do and say and determine whether they’re living according to what the Bible says.

Very good. I think that is definitely true. Of course, we would try to trick my grandfather. We would ask him trick questions. We knew that he couldn’t wiggle around unless he really did believe the truth. We were certain of his salvation. Thank you, Peter. We appreciate that very much. We are now going to go to Anthony in Tampa, Florida. Anthony, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Hey, I had a quick question. It’s a quick five-second per report. The question I had was, you know, people always seem to be defending Barack Obama in his Christianity, but as far as I know he belongs to the Church of Christ and my question is that if you’re not baptized you’re not going to be saved even if you put your trust in Christ.

If you’re not baptized you’re not saved and if you die before you get baptized you’re going to hell even though you are you actually got on the cross so that’s my question is that real salvation or isn’t it? I agree with you. Most of you… Hey, it’s Anthony. How are you doing this morning? Good. Most every Church of Christ I’ve ever met has a list of about 20 things you must do in order to be saved. And obviously it’s based on works and it’s based upon things you are going to do to get you there, not what Christ did for you.

it’s really tricky when you’re hearing people talk to you have to ask the right questions and say, well, is there anything in addition to faith in Christ? The Bibleline is a church that you need to be saved. And many times they’ll say, Oh yeah, you got to be baptized, and you got to join the church, and you got to live the Christian life, and all those are wrong answers because the answer is nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood.

Nothing that Christ can save you. And that’s the only way to heaven. And so you really have to be able to come up with some questions that will reveal that to find out whether the person’s trusting Christ alone or Christ plus something. I’m Dr. Englister and we have more callers. We’re not going to be able to get to them because of the time, but we will be back tomorrow.
