When I was in Israel two years ago, we met a wonderful group of Christians from Nigeria. invited him to the hotel for my evening Bible study. About 40 of them came. Wonderful people. One of them stood up and said that he listened to the Bibleline on the Internet.

We were just blown away. And if that wasn’t enough later in the week, we met a group of pastors from Nigeria. They were from upper Nigeria. The F.L. was from more in Nigeria. And they had watched our programs and listened to them on the Internet. And they wanted to have a photo op with me and we had a great time getting to meet in fellowship with those people as well. It was really exciting to think here I was traveling to Israel from the United States.

They were traveling to Israel from Nigeria, here in the meat and they are watching and listening to Bible and programs on the internet. Wow, I couldn’t believe it, but it was an be crescendent to me and let me know that it’s really happening and we have a hundred fifty eight countries that have logged on you might want to try it and I think you’ll enjoy it and you’ll be able to spend a lot of time there are a lot of people like to go in the evening when everything is done they’ve already showered they’ve had their dinner they’re relaxed and they have their Bible and they get on the internet and they can go back and listen to a program and they can go fast forward and they can back up and they can pause and they can take notes and they can really spend some time with it.

We’re excited about being with you today and we hope that you will be a Bibleline regular listener wherever you might be listening from. We have a trip to Israel coming up and that will be February 23, 2009 and if the The world doesn’t come back in status out here at the Feast of Trumpets. We’ll be going and you might want to go call. We’ll be glad to ship that out to you. So if you have your Bible today, get it out.

We’ll take a look at the Bible. Then we’ll be answering your questions as we go to our colors and you can start calling in right now 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. The Bible is a marvelous book and it doesn’t contradict itself, but sometimes the spin that people put on things that are in the Bible make it contradict. You know, salvation is not of yourself, it’s the gift of God that is not of works, and yet there are those who redefine things or define them wrong and wind up adding works to the replacement salvation and the Bible became the contradictory book.

When the Bible says salvation is not of yourself, it means not of yourself. When it says it’s not of works, it means it’s not of works. And one of the areas that there’s so much confusion is in the area of the word repent. Now I believe in repentance and I believe that you need to define it correctly. The problem is that the King James translation never did translate it properly. The Greek word which is metanoia, M-E-T-A which means change and noia which means mind.

The change of mind that this word is all about was translated into a word that doesn’t mean that. The English word repent doesn’t mean that. So if you look in your English dictionary, you’re going to find it says turn from sin or to be sorry for sin. And obviously that has caused a great problem because to tell somebody they have to turn from sin or to change their life in order to be saved is to add an element of human works to the planet of salvation.

The Bible teaches that we come just as we are. as we are. And I love that hymn where the hymn writer got it right. Just as I am, I come without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me. That’s the way we come. God saves us as we are. And then He gives us the new birth and the Holy Spirit turned to us and the power to have victory over sin. But before you become saved, you don’t have any power to add victory over sin and you don’t even have the desire perhaps to turn from sin.

And so it’s really a craziness that has happened and that most of Christianity today is getting this thing wrong about repent. And a preacher will oftentimes say, Repent of Sin! Well, guess how many times the phrase, Repent of Sin occurs in the Bible. You wouldn’t have had your guess. Alright, what do you think? Okay, well I bet you’re going to be wrong because it doesn’t occur once. Not even once! You know, I was so surprised because as a brand new believer I had heard that phrase so many times in my life that I thought it was on every page of the Bible but you cannot find the phrase quote, repent, of sin, unquote, anywhere, not even once, not at all in your Bible.

So the phrase, repent of sin, is not in the Bible at all. And by the way, if you define repentance correctly, which the Greek word is metanoia, meta meaning changed, noia meaning mine, it means a change of mind about sin. I don’t know about you, but I always thought that sin was wrong. If I repent of my sin, but I will all of a sudden say, wow, what have I been missing? is wonderful. Of course not. There’s craziness. And yet, this is really what’s going on here.

You wouldn’t want to change your mind. And most people have been taught sin is wrong. I was taught sin was wrong. I wouldn’t change my mind. I think sin is wonderful. But again, the phrase doesn’t really make any sense when you understand the Greek word metanoia means a change of mind. And yet, pictures will stand in and say, we’re pen of sin meaning and they’ll to find it as turn from your sin, and let at the same time… When they give the invitation, they’ll have the choir sing at the Crusader in the church, just as I am I come.

It’s a big contradiction. Does anybody do anything? It seems like the preacher’s saying, you have to turn from your sin. And just as they get that thought in their mind, the choir comes up behind them and says, no, you don’t have to turn from your sin. Listen to us. We’ve got it right. Just as I am I come. Come like you are and God will save you. Then the preacher stands back up and says, no, the choir is wrong.

Listen to the choir. You have to turn from your sin to be saved. Then the choir goes back and sings another stanza just as I am. I come. I don’t think people think. And so you have a preacher that will be preaching turned from sin but he has his choir singing. You don’t have to turn from your sin. Does that make any sense? Have you caught that? Have you? I picked up on this right away and I said, nobody’s thinking here.

They’re contradicting themselves right at the end of the service. The preacher’s saying, turn from sin, the choir says, don’t turn from sin. Who’s right? Well, the answer is in this case, the choir’s right, because you come just as you are. And then what is interesting in the Old Testament is that the word repent occurs 43 times, And 37 out of the 43 times, it’s God who repents not men. Did you know that? 37 out of the 43 times. If you do the math, that’s 86% of the time, it is God who repents.

Now, if you define repent as turned from sin, you’ve got a big theological problem. You’ve got a holy, sinless God who’s not capable of sinning, Turning Him to sin left and right throughout the Holy Testament. You’ve got to God who’s constantly turning Him to sin. Now, it can’t be! I mean, obviously, the definition has to be wrong. Again, 37 out of the 43 times the word repent occurs in the Old Testament, it’s God who repents. If you define it as turn from sin, you’ve got a Holy sinless God turning from the sin left and right.

Can’t be, can’t be. Somebody has to do your homework and restudy the whole thing. And if you look up the Greek word, it means to change your mind. And when you get saved, you must change your mind. I love to say it this way. If you get this down, I would recommend you get your pencil right now and write this down. If you understand this, you’ll understand the whole doctrine. You can repent without believing. But you cannot believe without repenting.

What did I just say? You can repent without believing. You can change your mind, which is what repentance means from the Greek word metanoia, without believing or trusting Christ as your Savior. You can change your mind about who Christ is, about how salvation has been purchased by his blood, about what you need to do to receive that by trusting Christ as your Savior. All those things you can change your mind about him, but yet you don’t necessarily wind up having to believe.

And so that obviously is an option. But you cannot believe without retaining. Because when you do believe, when you do trust Christ, you’ve changed your mind from what you have previously been trusting in to trusting in Jesus Christ at the moment of belief. So, believing or trusting Christ includes and implies that change of mind, which is called repentance. I happen to use the Old Scofield Reference Bible, and we recommend that so highly we have it here in our Resource Center.

And you want to get the old because it’s better than the new, but the notes in the Scofield Bible are repentance. A hundred years ago, 1909, almost there, were 99 years out, and a hundred years ago it says that repentance is the translation of a Greek word metanoia, meaning a change of mind. And his last sentence in his footnote is Dr. Schurfield says, saving faith includes and implies that change of mind which is called repentance. And that was when you believed you do repent.

Everybody who believes, I didn’t know a thing about repentance and that I got saved. I really didn’t know anything about doctrine at all, and yet I reflected back later when I knew what repented and realized I pretended about a number of things. Even at night I got saved, I didn’t know that Jesus Christ was God. That was pointed out to me in the Bible. And when I saw it, I said, that makes perfect sense. They wondered Jesus could do for me what no one else could do, how he could forgive my sin.

And it made perfect sense that he was God. But I had never heard that, and I changed my mind about that. I had always been taught that salvation was by works, and I changed my mind about that. I saw salvation as not of works. It was the gift of God. And I changed my mind and realized it’s not of works. And so I understood for the first time that if I simply would personally trust Christ as my Savior, I knew that He died, but I didn’t realize that if I personally trusted Him as the winner died for me, I would be forgiven, I would be saved.

And so I changed my mind about that. And when I believed I had changed my mind about several things, as I just listed a few, I didn’t realize at the time I was repenting, but the Greek word means to change your mind, and everybody who believes is obviously one who repents. The Bible makes it very clear in some places and other places you see where people take advantage of the wrong definition of repent, but it simply means to change your mind.

And one of the verses I like that is so simple is in Mark chapter 1 where Jesus said this in Mark’s Gospel chapter 1. He said, Repent ye and believe the Gospel. Change your mind and believe. You change your mind and you trust Christ and God saves you and you’re saved forever. I’m Dr. Englinstroom. This is by the line. We’re going to go to the film lines. I think all of our lines are lighted up. And we’ll take your call too if you want to call in the numbers 1-800-576-3771.

We have Cliff, Cliff is in Lando Lakes Florida and Cliff, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Cliff? Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. I got a question in Psalms 82 verse 1, God stands in the congregation of the mighty and He judges among the gods. Which God is He talking about because all I know there to be is one. Right. Well, though the word means leaders or whatever, and I think that’s talking about in heaven and the Bible.

The Bible talks about the congregation in heaven and probably, and I talk about the chair-bim, the seraphim, the other leaders in heaven, and he obviously is the authority and he’s the one that gives the orders and he’s the one that leads the way and is talking about that. But certainly there’s only one God, we all know that. But sometimes others who act for God are also sometimes used that word there but it’s in a little with a little G.

That’s what it’s talking about. Talk about others that are leaders or authorities that he judges and they are the ones that are under his authority. Thank you, I appreciate it. You sure welcome. Thank you, Cliff. Cliff Tharion from Land Rights. We’re now going to go to Mary in parto Florida. Mary, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning Pastor Hank. You was talking about the the dying without without being a believer. My mother was born in 1909. I heard you talking about the school field Bible.

She died when she was a 94 and she was a 7th day and I was talking to my sister and I was telling her that, you know, that for salvation and she said, oh, but they’ll have a chance to learn it over again because they weren’t taught right going to the gate. I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean, but my mother, she thinks my mother will get will get a second chance. and the correct way how to be saved.

That sounds nice, but it’s not true. I know. Once you die, it’s forever too late. That’s why there’s such an urgency for all of us to make sure that before a person slides into eternity that they know the Lord is their savior. He was 927, says it’s a point that a man wants to die and then the judgment. So there’s no second opportunity. And in Luke 16, when Jesus pulls back the curtain on the unseen world, we find that the rich man who was in flame and torment immediately after he died because he was an unbeliever didn’t have a second chance.

He was looking for hope. He was looking for comfort and we find that he’s told that there’s nothing that anybody could do for him. I tried to tell my sister that, but her poachers teaching, oh no, they’ll get another chance. They were trying to look for the chance here, but see, my mother thinks that was this. She was, oh, she was really, I was raised dead menace and I know better now. But there was another question that I wanted to ask you.

And John’s Gospel, John 3, 22 and 23, could you please explain those scriptures Scriptures and I will hang up and listen to your answer and God bless you. This is John’s gospel John John yeah, well John not not the little No, this is John 3 22 and 23 all right. I’m turning it right now, and we’ll give that a shot. All right. Thank you all right, that was Mary and and chapter 3 verse 22 of John’s gospel says everyone to do it evil hate it’s the light neither cometh to the light this is deeds should be reproved but he to do it’s truth cometh to the light it is deeds may manifest that they are wrought in God basically a person who is doing evil deeds doesn’t like the Bible doesn’t want to go to church, doesn’t want to hear a sermon.

And you see that all the time. It’s just like if you ever know as a cockroach, when you turn the light on, what do they do? And at the school, in the some dark corner, or under the furniture where it’s dark, where they can hide. And that’s what the Bible is saying. So for a person who’s then saying they want to run away from the light, we need to bring the light to them and let them know that if they’re still alive and breathing that they could change your mind and trust Christ and be saved.

And Mary, thank you for that call. The seven-day Adventist are all works based and thank you for bringing that out as well. And we’re now going to go to Anomas in Tampa, Florida. And Anomas, welcome to my blind year on the air. Okay. You’re on there. You’re fucking a reporter. You’re on there. And then, go ahead. You’re on there. Take a look at that. Good morning, sir. Good morning. So I wanted to have you there to clarify the six chapter one through six and especially in verse number three about their business of the church.

Okay, well what we have in next In the next chapter 6 is the appointment of the first beacons. Notice here it tells us that the church was growing and the problems were growing with the church growth. And so the 12 decided to come together and elect some deacons. It says here it’s not reason that we should leave the Word of God and serve tables. So the word deacon really means a table waiter. And what happened is that the apostles didn’t want to leave their task, which was to take the Word of God and spread the Word of God.

In fact, it says in verse 4, we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. So the church leader ought to be preaching the Word and ministering the Word and praying and so on. But the deacons came along to help with the other physical tasks of the church. Now in my church, the church structure is that we have elders, which are spiritual leaders that handle the spiritual matters. And then we have deacons that don’t have any power politically within the church, but they They have the responsibility of caring for the lawns and grounds and offerings and greeting and all the other things that are associated with the church business.

And so they take care of all those things and they are to take care of the physical responsibilities. But yet when we see them elected, they were to be godly men, having the same really requirements as the elders of the church. And so there were to be godly men fully committed to the Lord and full of the Holy Spirit and they elected seven men here. And some of these guys were really great. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, was one of those seven deacons.

I hope that helps. Thank you for your call today. We have several more calls here, but I think we’re going to have to just hold them until after the break because we’re coming up on a hard and fast. I hope everybody is listening as trusted Christ is Savior. It’s a gift. It’s not of works. If you alter God’s plan and make works of it, you’ll not be saved. And that is what scares me for some. But think about it.

that they’re maybe going to make it into heaven, but they’re trusting in Jesus plus. You want to trust Christ and Christ alone. By the way, the Bible and his listeners are supporting. And thank God for all of you who pray for us and give the Bible and because you’re the ones who keep this program on the air. Really, there’s no good reason why we should be on the air because we don’t have any money to pay the bills. But you know the Lord has raised up people just like you.

Because God supplies through His people, we have been able to remain on the air. Would you call and give a gift to Bibleline by credit card? Or would you call and ask for an envelope to be sent and mail a gift in to Bibleline? That would be so wonderful. Especially as we close out September, let’s make sure that we are able to pay all the bills for this month. We can use your help right now if you want to call in and do that.

We are going to take a short break now and come back and do a second half hour. So keep you ready to write where it is, and I’ll be right back to the Mind Align Part 2. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englund’s for a minute. It’s wonderful to be with you on this Monday as we are closing out the month of September here pretty quickly.

And we have really a lot of blessings as we hear from our listeners and meet our listeners and read notes and letters from our listeners. We just see God working in a wonderful way in the lives of the believers that listen to this program. And we’re excited about that. We’re hoping that we’re helping you get some areas clarified as we talked about repends today. That is such an issue. It’s amazing how the devil has kept that an issue because it has worked to salvation, which is exactly what the devil wants to do.

We need to be able to explain to people that, yes, we believe in repentance, but it’s a change of mind that occurs when you believe, and everybody that believes does repent, it’s impossible to believe without repenting. In many cases you might want to get a Scoville Bible. The notes in there are so clear on repentance and other doctrines and how wonderful it was to find us a new believer, those notes that helped me so much as a brand new believer.

If you run a Bible that is geared to doctrine, you want the Scoville, it’ll be fine for you, repentance and redemption and glorification and predestination and justification and all all these different doctrines that most people don’t even know what they mean. But it will give you the verses and show you exactly what’s going on. You can make it plain and clear so that you can understand it. And the whole Bible will become clear. I think if you have the notes there that are available to you in the C.I.

Scofield reference Bible. And we have those available in our book, Sturgers Call, and you can get anything from an inexpensive soft back to a nice large print leather and they’re just beautiful. Anyway, we hope that you’ll do that. Also, we’re planning to go to Israel in the fall, now you’re in the spring, and that’ll be February 23rd of 2009. If you don’t have your brochure, would you call and give us your address or mail one right out to you?

If you want a resource sheet that tells you what’s in our resource center, call and move mail that out to you. If you want an offering envelope, so… See how the week goes. Alright, we’re back from that break and it’s great to be with you on this Monday as we bring Bibleline to you from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church where I’m pastor. We are just as excited as can be every day to be able to talk with you and share with you over the radio and over the Internet.

And so I hope you’re telling your friends about it and I hope you’ll join us as often as you can. can. And we’re going to go right now to the phone lines. We have Larry in Mason, Minnesota, and Michigan, and Larry, welcome to the Bible on your own ear. Hello. Hi, Larry. Hi, Dr. Lancer. Good morning. I have two things I want to ask about. And also, I wanted to ask, here’s the real myself, I want to ask about first of all the comment.

In Zechariah the 8th chapter there is a footnote about Hebrew and Greek words about about uh… uh… metanoia and also the hebrew word is not com n a c h e e on that’s in that uh… it’s in a new school field uh… and also And also, I want to ask you to lay up myself of what is coming up and listen to you on the radio. Okay, thank you Larry. You know the word is coming and he’s going to be right on time and I would just trust that he knows best as to when he had to come.

And when I was talking about it this morning, he’s on schedule with his plan for Israel. is planned for Israel. That’s right. You know, God’s overall plan is for the planet earth here and for Israel as far as the earthly plan. And he interrupted that plan when Israel rejected the Messiah and turned us Gentiles. And we actually were begun on a Jewish feast, the Feast of Pentecost. And the next feast in order is the Feast of Krepits, which will conclude the church age.

And so when that Jewish feast occurs, whatever you are, is going to happen out we go. It could be next week Larry, just hang in there. And it could be, we’ll meet the Lord in the air on the next Tuesday, or Wednesday, on the September 30th, and October 1st is the two-day celebration of Rasha Shana or the Feast of Trumpets. And that’s the most logical time for us to be caught out of here. I’m excited it could be and I may not be on the radio after that.

We’ll be in heaven so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens but hopefully all of our audience will go with us and we’ll all make near and rejoice. I really know obviously you’re gonna be one of those. We’re gonna now go to Joyce and she’s in Charlottesville, New York listening out of Utica, New York and Charlotte welcome, excuse me, Joyce, welcome to Babylon. How you doing, Dr. Hank? Good, good. Dr. Hank, I have two salvation scenarios for you.

I could ask these questions. What about somebody, say you have somebody who’s an unbeliever, and he’s a pretty moral guy by human standards, and he thinks he’s good enough to get to heaven on his own. Then he hears the gospel message, but he hasn’t had any great revelation about Jesus or any great conviction that’s within. It’s no way he’s reasoning it out. He knows he’s from against God, but he’s not crying over the sin, but he’s kind of thinking to himself, you know, if this gospel is true, I better do this.

I don’t want to go to hell. I’ll try Jesus. He does, and he receives Jesus. Is he saved with that little faith? Absolutely. Absolutely. It’s not the quality of faith. It’s the one who you’re placing your faith in, and the promise that Jesus makes. He says he would save everyone that would believe on him. Everyone that would trust him, he would not reject anyone that would come to him. So yes, absolutely he’ll save him. Because I’ve heard some people say, oh well that’s just a ticket out of hell.

You can’t get sows like that. Well, you sure can. It is a ticket out of hell and I sure would want to miss that ticket. Right, well, right. And the second one is what about somebody who shoots a gospel message and receives it? And he’s very emotional and glad and excited. He goes to church and he witnesses the spiritual system. And that’s it. I mean, he just leaves the church and you don’t see him again. You know, what about somebody like that?

Would that person be saved? Well, we just don’t know whether he really did trust the Lord of Savior or not. It says that when 1 John 2, 19, they went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they’d been of us, they would have continued with us. So it could be that they were never genuinely saved and not a believer. But again, a Christian can do that. They can just throw in a towel early, which the Bible encourages us not to do.

It tells us to be steadfast and hang in there and endure, but that would have to do with rewards, not the salvation, if he did trust the Lord he’d be safe forever. Okay, because I’ve heard some people say, like, if somebody comes to an oracle court or something, like in the Billy Graham’s thing or something, you know, with that many people, they like to follow up because if somebody does it in an emotional moment or something, that they might not really be saved.

But if they did, why wouldn’t they be if they did receive them even if they were emotional? Absolutely, sure. If they really do trust the Lord as their Savior, it’s something that happens at that instant that’s irreversible. They’re born again, they’re passed from death under life. They receive the gift of eternal life. The Holy Spirit comes and indwells them. All those things happen at the instant of salvation. never going to be lost if they do truly get saved. Right, so what kind of person were you saying that they may not, but I gave you an example that they may not have trusted him?

And that if they seem like they do, I mean, can you give me an illustration of somebody that did that that wasn’t saved? I’m sure there are people who just never really didn’t understand it. They enthusiastically got excited about going to heaven and maybe didn’t understand the gospel and didn’t really trust the Lord on the outside. It looked like they made some sort of decision. Maybe they went forward in the church or in the crusade or they signed the piece of paper saying they made a decision.

But the decision has to be between that person and the Lord and they have to trust personally that Jesus died for them and shed his blood to paper their sins was buried and rose again from the dead. And we don’t know the heart. the Lord only is the one that knows that so we hope I pray that they did do that. Right. Okay, great. That’s what I wanted to know. Thank you so very much and have a great day.

You too, Joyce. Thank you. Joyce in Charlottesville, New York. We now have Jonah on the line and Jonah’s calling in here from Tampa, Florida. Jonah, welcome to Bible End. Good morning, Dr. Lynch. First, I want to give a shout out to Jim and Andrea who are listening right now. And my question for you is, I know you were last month about the scope of a one Bible. I’m definitely looking into purchasing that soon. I was curious as to references to the original name Jehovah, though, and how it goes about with the translation of that.

If you knew of any Bibles that correctly used the translation of Jehovah while still maintaining their translation. activation accuracy Well, here’s the debate as to how God’s name is to be created. It’s the same four consonants in the Hebrew, YHWH, and we find that in 1611 in the King James translation it is translated as Jehovah. today many are putting just two vowel sounds in there and translating it Yahweh. So we don’t really know which is the correct pronunciation. Both might be wrong but again that’s the text of the Bible itself.

The scofe notes are really independent of that and the scofe notes do a good job on defining the names of God and the different names that are used for God and so I don’t see those a conflict at all, you’re going to have the King James text, which will have the words of the throughout. If I didn’t go through a Bible store, I know life way about the mall and Brandon’s sales, the old scope field. Is it the 1911 scope field?

It’s 1909 or 1917. 1909 or 1977? They’re basically the same. In the 1917, they added the dates in the center column and they added a few other things in the way of reference in the center column. But otherwise, essentially the same. The notes are really still good and haven’t been altered in the first two. Right. Awesome. Well, I’m definitely going to check in that. You’re welcome, General. That was done. We now have Peter and Peter is in Palm Harbor, Florida and Peter, welcome to Bibleline you are near.

Good morning, Pastor. How are you? Good. Good morning. I don’t know if you can answer this. It’s really a question more towards if there are any Calvinist listeners out there and I want to make sure I understand the Calvinist doctrine. One of them essentially says that mankind does not have in its self the ability to even make the choice to have that change of mind. That has to actually be given. So when we say that we believe it’s only because…

Correctly. Yes, correct. The Calvinist basically says, you’re like a dish rag and God does everything. He gives you faith and he makes the decision for you. He saves you in the whole nine yards and you don’t have a choice. Well, the question I have then is in light of that understanding, which is the very beginning. If I can read some verses in Psalm 119, I would like to know if you’ve come across a Calvinist And what the response is, or if there is a Calvinist that’s listening that subscribes the Calvinism, that could call in and comment on these.

Because what I can read in here is very, very specific. So in Psalm 119 starting in verse 30, it says, I have chosen the way of truth, by judgments. Have you? have I laid before me. Verse 31, I have stuck unsundedye testimonies, O Lord. 34, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Verse 41, let thy mercies come unto me, even thy salvation. Verse 42, for I trust and thy word. Verse 45. I will walk at liberty for I seek thy precepts.

That sounds like free will. Verse 55, I remember thy name and have kept thy law 56. This I had because of the I kept thy precepts. 57, I have said that I would keep thy words. 58, I entreated thy favor with my whole heart. 59, I fought on my ways and turned my seat unto thy testimonies. Verse 60, I made haste and keep thy commandments. I have not forgotten my law. And lastly, 69, but I will keep my precepts with my whole heart.

David is very clear in saying that he is the one that is making the choice. So I wonder, have you come across someone that describes to Calvinism and presented this, what was their response? Well again, they just override whatever the Bible says because Calvinism is a man-made doctrine and they read the Bible through the light of their lenses, which are skewed and They’re not going to get it right. They just don’t see that they just see that That’s the appearance that you have but in reality God is the one behind the scenes It was really made out of choices.

And obviously I totally reject that. That is not true. And we do have a choice. And we can’t accept or reject Christ. And we can make decisions even after we’ve become saved. And that’s our choices to make. And God has set it up that way from the very beginning. So I just don’t think you’re going to make much headway because they just really in In my opinion, ignore what the Bible says and they override what the Bible says because they are reading it through the lenses of their skewed false teaching of Calvinism.

Why the Lord sure lightens things up for those that are believers and sometimes I just am amazed at very clear things that you would think people should be able to see. I agree with that. Thank you. Thank you Peter. You know, in Ephesians 2, they take such a precious verse. My favorite Ephesians to 8.3 by Grace. He says, You saved through faith, and that none of yourselves is the gift of God, not of works, as they mentioned those. They take this verse and they say that faith is not of yourself.

Faith is the gift of God. Faith is not of works, as they mentioned those. So they tell you that God gives faith to those that He has already preselected to be saved. What is interesting is that you cannot demonstrate that from Ephesians 2-8. to 8 because the subject there is all these lines and that not of yourselves is the gift of God is all neater in gender in the Greek and it must refer back to a gender that’s also neater as a subject of the verse and faith in Greek is feminine.

So it cannot refer to faith as being not of yourself. It cannot refer to faith as being the gift of God. And so this verse that they use, that they hang their whole hat on as far as God giving faith to those that are chosen, doesn’t hold up, but doesn’t stand. The topic, the sedentary, is salvation through faith, which is not of yourself, and it’s the gift of God and it’s not of works. But that no one in the Bible teaches the God gives faith to the person that he’s chosen to be saved.

is just a totally man-made doctrine. Concordix the Bible is not true. Everybody has the ability, the capacity to trust Christ for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, and whosoever anyone all can come and trust Christ the Savior and be saved. And we now have Mark in Ashlyn, Kentucky and Mark, welcome to Bibleline You Are On the Air. Mark? I’d like to ask you a question from Genesis. I came to seeing anybody’s answer out as I’ve read it for myself.

The women’s room and all over gone. I know I’ve read in the Bible, I believe it referred to as Leviathan. I believe it’s what the dinosaurs come from. Now they say the things are made in the years. Oh, I can’t believe many of these doctrines. Can you explain some of this to me? I’ll be happy to. You know, Leviathan really is a serpent, and that’s really a reference to Satan. Isaiah 27-1 is talking about Leviathan, and he is the serpent.

He’s the devil himself, and it describes his character. I believe the earth was originally created in Genesis 1, 1, perfect and inhabited. There was plant, animal and dinosaur life on this planet and angelic life. All of the angels of God lived on the original earth. They lived happily under Lucifer’s leadership until he decided to overthrow heaven. Lucifer, according to the Bible, left the earth with a third of the angels to overthrow heaven and take over God’s throne. Well, obviously they didn’t surprise God.

He knew his thoughts as he thought the plan. And so God judged the earth and judged the angels and cast them back down to the earth and all life, all life, all life on the planet was extinguished. NASA says that happened 65 million years ago when a huge asteroid struck the planet Earth in the area of the Yucatan Peninsula. And so much debris was cast up into the Earth’s atmosphere that the sunlight was cut off for millions of years and that all creatures that breathe there perished in that terrible judgment And the earth was totally submerged in a flood that was a world-wide flood long before the flood of Noah.

Then we find the earth remained that way for a long time, maybe till just 6,000 years ago. Then it says in Genesis 1-2, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. The word moved there means to incubate, to brew upon. It’s a word that means basically God hatched the earth out again. So here the earth probably became frozen because the sunlight was cut off and now God warms up the earth and prepares it. And in seven days God makes the earth in habitable again.

And this time he puts man on the planet and he doesn’t have to create plants. They’re already there. If you read carefully what happened on the third day the plants came forth from seed that was already here. It was already here. then that recreated animals that have peristic, brief air. The sirens were the siri the buri there on the land and then on the sixth day has created man and I believe that I have the fossil evidence of the original earth in the fossil fuels that we’ve burned today and there you see the remains of the Regional earths and rather for them interestingly in pockets of the great And these are the oil deposits that we’re drilling for all around the world.

Those are the remains of that destruction that occurred when God judged the earth because of Satan’s rebellion. And the coal deposits all over the earth are, again, concentrations of plant material. And that’s fossilized plant material, whereas the oil we have is fossilized animal life. life and so mark hope that helps but I believe that’s where the dinosaurs were and they were killed in Genesis 1 2 thank you mark and we appreciate that call and we’re now going to go to Lou in Tampa Florida.

Lou welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Well the morning Dr. Hank how are you? Good morning. A parable that I’m going to ask you about I’d like to know is that a salvation parable or a parable for discipleship. It’s the one with the rich young ruler where Jesus says you’ve done everything but one other thing that you have to do you have to give away everything and rich young man would say that was the only one that wasn’t saved in the Bible and I’d like to think what that parable really means.

Okay I’ll hang up and listen. All right and by the way I think this is a true story not a parable and it’s in Matthew Chapter 19 and I believe people are careful Bible students. If you’ll notice here Jesus presents both to this unsaved young rich ruler. If you’ll notice in verse 21 he says in the last phrase come, that’s how you become saved. You come into Christ and he’ll give you rest, he’ll give you life. All you have to do is come.

And then he talks about the Christian life and he says, and follow me. That’s the Christian life and that will earn you rewards. He’s offering both. That’s the whole package. You simply come to Christ to be saved, but then if you want rewards, you follow Christ after you become saved. So he’s not told to follow Christ to be saved. He’s told to come to Christ to be saved. And he says, if you follow me, it says, then now shall have treasure in heaven.

So treasures in heaven come as a result of following. Coming to Christ gets you into heaven. So in other words, if you rightly divide the word and it’s all here in this chapter, amazingly they missed this. To be saved, you simply come to Christ. You trust in the finished work that he did at the cross and he saves you. Then you follow Christ and you will have rewards in heaven as you live for him. But notice Christ gives in the complete package.

You come to me and I will save you and if you follow me you will have rewards in heaven. And of course this man turned down both parts of the package and I don’t believe it is ever saved. But It’s not a parable, I believe it’s a real life story of a young man who came and he was obviously full of himself. He said that he kept all the commandments which obviously nobody has and that he was obviously not so concerned about, I think, rewards in heaven or pleasing God or even being saved because he turned down the offer of simply coming to Christ to be saved.

So, Muah, I hope that helps and thank you for that call. We now have Mark and he is in Ashland, Kentucky and apparently we didn’t finish with Mark. So, let me go back to Mark. Mark? Yeah. Okay. I’m out in your sister’s station here at 14. So, I mean, it’s not coming in very clear for me. That’s what you explain to me. finder said what you said that’s right in the third the angels were on the planet earth is that pre-man i’m taking it yes and uh…

is that correct yes absolutely right and uh… where where where where are you getting that in i don’t know i feel rid of that what are you getting that from Well, you need to read your whole Bible. If you notice, Isaiah 45, 18, it says, God, when originally created the earth, he created a perfect and created an inhabitant. If you read Isaiah 14, when you see the fall of Satan, he said that he was going to leave the earth and go to heaven to overthrow it, and he was going to sit upon the throne of God in heaven.

So that invasion was squashed, and as a result, God jibs the earth. If you read Jeremiah chapter 4, it takes you back to that original event where Jeremiah says in no one behold, the earth was without form and word and describes God’s destruction of the original earth and all life on it, everything that was on the earth perished. And so many more verses, I think. If you had a score for a Bible, it would age you because it would show you all these references, but you have to start reading your whole Bible and putting it all together.

I’m not going to let you go out of time, but I sure do want to thank you for tuning in today and I invite you to come back and listen to us again tomorrow. Again, we’re listening supported if you could call and give a gift by credit card today. That would be so appreciated and God bless you and thank you. If you want to call and get an envelope sent, you can mail that gift in. But we got to go.

So keep looking up. Jesus is coming. And I will be very soon. I’m not going to go through. We’ll see you tomorrow. It’s so interesting to me that a lot of people have never heard many things that are in the Bible, but because they haven’t heard them, they feel like they’re not there. My goodness, my goodness, my goodness, there is so much in this wonderful Bible of ours. You might hear many new things as you listen to the Bible on because we try to bring out many things maybe you’ve never heard before in your entire life. But that doesn’t mean that they didn’t exist before you heard them or that they weren’t in your Bible there.

All my friends, please, uh, uh, tune in every day if you can and tell your friends about the program and, and, and encourage them to listen. And if they’re not saved, maybe they’ll trust the Lord as your Savior. And if they are saved, maybe they’ll grow in the knowledge of Christ, which we find So many are telling us this is what’s happening. You can call and get a resource sheet and order from our resource center. We have books that I have selected that I believe are really, really the best to get for your investment.

We have the Jameson Foset Brown commentary, my favorite. We also have the Jay Vernon McGee commentary, another favorite. Between the two, if you get them, you’ll have enough in your library to probably tackle every verse in the Bible and come up with a decent answer. And so you might want to invest that way. Both of them are each $100 for the commentary and you can start saving and deciding to add that to your library. The Scofield Bible is so excellent.

The notes will help you on whatever question comes up. easily i find the school of illness are right on there’s a few i disagree with it very very very few i incident credible bible and the notes are excellent i’ve got a run but i’d go ahead and give us a call and will be glad to talk to you and help you in any way we can i’m going to leave right now but i’ll be back tomorrow or really and i hope you’ll join me again tomorrow keep looking up uses is coming and i believe very soon You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
