We’re exactly one block west of the Tampa International Airport. That’s right.

We’re just a block west. So if you get more than a block away from the Tampa International Airport, you’re going in the wrong direction. And so it’s easy to find. All the major roads head into the Tampa airport. You’ll be able to zip right into where we are. We’re on the west side on George Road about midway between Memorial and Hillsborough Avidus. Don’t forget we have lots of resources available in our resource center. We have the Jamison Faucet Brown commentary, the one that I love that has a comment on every verse of scripture.

I used it just yesterday. Again, it comes right. It’s there for you and it comes through. It gives you answers. Whereas so many commentaries skip all the difficult passages that Jameson Fawcett Brown doesn’t. We also have the J. Vernon McGee Five Volume commentary and that gives you something on every chapter of the Bible. So between the two, you’ll have all that you need to really get yourself going in the right direction. And both of those sets retail for For quite a bit, Jay Vernon McGee retails for 200.

We have it for a gift of 100. And the James of Faucet Brown, I believe, is the same. It’s expensive, but we have it for a lot less. And you could call and order that today, along with the Schilfield Bible. That book on evangelism, the handbook on personal evangelism, we have the Scofields in Spanish and English, and we also have the handbook on evangelism in Spanish and English. And we also have Gospel tracks that really work in Spanish and in English, so you can call and talk to our operators.

They’ll be glad to assist you. We’re going to get into the Bible, then we’ll take our callers to get on the air with us in a few minutes. We are going to turn in our Bibles to date of Genesis chapter 1. It says in verse 1, in the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. What an incredible verse and what a way to begin the Bible. God is the creator of the universe and you will note here, it doesn’t tell us when he did that.

Apparently, it was millions and billions of years ago that he created the universe and Now what is interesting here is that we find in verse 2 that the earth became without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. That is not the way God created the earth. He didn’t create it part way or formless or void. He created it perfect and inhabited. How do we know? Well if you turn to Isaiah 45-18 it says, Thus saith the Lord that created the heavens in the earth.

And there in this marvelous verse, he says he created it not vain. Now the word vain is the very same word in the Hebrew that’s translated void in Genesis 1-2. So here we learn from Isaiah 45-18 that God did not create the earth vain and without form and void as we find it in Genesis 1-2. Let me read that verse in Isaiah 45. It says, let’s say with the Lord that created the heavens, God Himself that formed the earth and made it.

He established it, He created it not in vain or the word is void in the Hebrew. He did not create it as you find it in Genesis 1-2. Then it says, He formed it to be inhabited. I am the Lord and there is none else. So here we learned that God when he originally created the earth, created it perfect, created it inhabited, and we believe that prior to Adam and Eve there were plants, animals, dinosaurs, and angelic beings on this earth, that the original earth was inhabited by all of the angels of God.

And that Lucifer, who became Satan, was the God of this world and ruled over the planet earth for millions and millions and millions of years. Then there came a point in time when the Bible tells us that Lucifer decided he wanted to overthrow heaven. You see the angels never lived in heaven. We’ve been taught wrong all of our lives. The angels never lived in heaven. They lived here on the earth and we find that when Lucifer decided to overthrow heaven, he led a rebellion, taking one-third of God’s angels, and they went with him in this rebellion and were judged along with Satan and were cast back down to the earth.

At the same time, God apparently destroyed all life on the planet. Apparently, he allowed some huge asteroid to strike the planet. Now we know that life was extinguished and NASA tells us, if you can rely on what NASA says, that 65 million years ago a huge asteroid of 125 to 150 miles diameter struck the earth in the area of the Yucatan Peninsula. If you look at a map and you look at the Gulf of Mexico, you’ll So notice in the area of the eucatan, there’s this round circular depression.

That’s apparently where this asteroid struck. And according to NASA, the impact was such that it threw up so much debris from the earth that the sun’s light was cut off for millions of years. Well that meets exactly the description we have in Genesis 1-2, and the earth became without form and void. And darkness was upon the face of the deep. The sun’s light was cut off. Scientists tell us if the sun’s light were cut off for as little as 72 hours, the earth would be quick frozen.

I believe that would explain the ice ages. Apparently, this happened rather quickly. They have found and discovered mammoths way up in Siberia and they were quick frozen in the ice. And they were discovered to find vegetation in their stomachs, undigested. You talk about a quick freeze. These huge animals were caught in this terrible judgment. And they were frozen in the actual state of grazing and eating vegetation, which was found in their stomachs undigested. Amazing! And apparently according to NASA that was 65 billion years ago, the Earth remained that way, totally flooded.

It says darkness is upon the face of the deep, Genesis 1-2. The Earth was not created vain or void. We learned from Isaiah 45-18, but it became that way. And then just about 6,000 years ago, it picks up in verse 2 and says the Spirit of God, The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Now the word moved, if you look it up in the Hebrew, is a word that means to brood upon, to incubate. It’s the same word used of a mother hen sitting on her nest and warming it up and keeping those eggs at a certain temperature to produce life.

Apparently the Holy Spirit then incubated the earth, brooded upon it, warmed it up, prepared it for life as the Holy Spirit thought out the ice from the ice ages and then just 6,000 years ago, God in seven days recreated the earth for life again and he puts man on the planet. I believe we have the evidence today of that original creation in all of our fossil fuels. Coal is the fossilized remains of plant life trapped beneath the surface of the earth and And we have petroleum, which is fossilized animal life, again trapped under the surface of the earth, all of that which we’re using today to fuel our economies.

And these fossil fuels were the remains of the original creation when God judged the earth, isn’t it fascinating? And obviously we also then learn theologically why Satan was here in the garden, why he was so motivated to cause Adam and Eve to fall, and of course when he fell himself. Apparently 65 million years ago, Satan left the planet Earth for heaven to try to overthrow it. You know, in the Little Teeny Booker Jude we have an interesting insight on this whole thing.

It tells us in Jude chapter 1, way back by the book of Revelation, and the angels, which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation. I believe that’s talking about here the planet earth, that the angels, which were assigned to the planet earth and Lucifer was the God of this world, ruling over all of God’s angels, that there were a group of a third of the angels that followed Satan and as Jude tells us, kept not their first estate, which was the planet earth, but left their own habitation.

And these are the ones that God has judged that are reserved to ultimately be cast into hell after Satan is cast into hell at the end of the thousand-year earthly reign of Christ. You will notice if you read carefully on the seven days of the recreated week that no life, rather no plant life, had to be created. If you read carefully on day three, when dry land had appeared, light was now available. You find that the seeds germinated from life that had previously been here on the earth.

Nowhere does God use the word created when he talks about plant life. that it says the seeds were here and that the plants and the trees and the grasses sprang forth from seed that was here already on the earth. It wasn’t until the fifth day that God then recreated life that had breath and its nostrils. But I believe perhaps there’s a lot of life in the sea that never died. For example, scientists tell us that sharks have been around for millions of years.

I certainly believe that’s possibly true. that they survived in the oceans when the earth was judged. And when the earth was revived in those seven days, the sharks are still here. And there are other marine life that were alive and didn’t have to be recreated. But whales and all breathing mammals in the sea had to be recreated. And all animals on the surface of the earth, land animals that breathe there. thousand a year had to be recreated and on the sixth day God created man.

He fashioned him out of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. The Bible is an amazing book. There is no evolution. God is the Creator. But I believe the earth was originally created lush and plentiful with plant life, animal life, dinosaurs, and that when God judged the earth in Genesis 1-2, that all of that life was destroyed, and we have the fossil evidence of that to this very hour in the coal deposits, in the oil deposits that we find around the world, and obviously look at where they’re found.

Some of these coal deposits are found in areas where you wouldn’t think there would be tropical vegetation. When they found these mammoths eating in Siberia, they were eating tropical vegetation way up there near the polar regions. And they were quick frozen when apparently God judged the earth We have an amazing Bible and obviously Satan now was jealous when he saw Adam and Eve now taking his place as the Highest created beings on the planet and that’s why he wanted Adam and Eve to fall that’s why he was in the garden.

That’s why he tempted Eve because he was the ruler of this world and now he was being replaced. He was really upset and very very jealous and that tells us why Satan tempted Adam and Eve in the garden and also tells us when he fell. If you don’t believe in the earth being old and then destroyed as it says there in Genesis 1 2 then you have to ask yourself when was Satan created? And the answer is the Bible says when God created the universe.

And if there were only 6,000 years ago, on what day did he fall? And why did he fall? Did he fall on day one, day two, day three, day four, day five? And on day six a man was created and then immediately thereafter Satan causes Adam and Eve to fall. He was already here and he still has the title, the God of this world. Second Corinthians 4-4 tells us that Satan is the God of this world. When Jesus came the first time, Satan tempted him and took him up into a high mountain apart and showed him all the kingdoms of this world.

And we find that he told Jesus if he’d only fall down and worship Satan that he would give him all these kingdoms. Was that a bona fide offer? The answer is yes, because Satan is the God of this world to this hour, and he could offer the kingdoms of this world to Christ. In Revelation 11, when it talks about the Second Coming, it talks about how when Christ comes back, the kingdoms of this world are now become the kingdoms of his Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever and ever.

Wow, I can’t help but get excited and break into song when I read that verse. There’s a day coming when the kingdoms of this world will be taken away from Satan and Jesus will be king over the earth and he’ll be the one that will bring peace on earth. Good will toward men. I’m Dr. Englund, this is Bibleline. We want to go to the phone lines. We have people calling in from all over. We’d love to hear from you.

number is 1-800-576-3771-1800-576-3771. We have Bert in Miami, Florida and Bert, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Good morning, Pastor. Thank you very much. I was fascinating the information you just gave us about the angels. But you made me think about what happened with the angels that stayed behind. Number one, does the Bible explain what happened to them? And number two, you know, I listen to a lot of shows on the radio and I hear, for example, we have a Catholic show in Miami from 8 to 9 in the morning and we see.

I believe these people are genuinely sure that the Catholic Church’s interpretation I think the expectation of the Bible is the real deal and we’re totally in error and I don’t agree with that. But people who have brought up Catholic and are totally sincere and truly believe that they’ve been taught the right way. You know, I feel for them. But in their minds and their hearts, they believe that they’re right. And I guess my question is, you know, we’re a world believer.

And I think that believe it should not be. should never stop the nomination that he can get. What do you think about that? Well absolutely because you don’t want to… He says in the 2nd Corinthians 13, 5, examine yourselves whether you be in the faith. The faith occurs 43 times in the New Testament. The refers to the body of truth as contained in the Bible. You can deviate from the Bible, which of course the Roman Catholic has done seriously deviated.

seriously deviated. And what is interesting about the Roman Catholic is you need to ask the right question. When you ask a Roman Catholic do you believe in Jesus Christ they’ll all say yes. But if you ask the Roman Catholic do you trust Jesus Christ as your only means of reaching heaven they’ll say no. So therefore they’re not saved if they’re not trusting Christ alone. They trust the church to save them and the church is the dispenser of the sacraments And by keeping the sacraments, the Roman Catholic Church says that you earn grace and become eligible to enter heaven.

And obviously that’s totally foreign to what the Bible teaches and is wrong. So the key word is trust. You can ask a Jehovah’s Witness. Do you believe in Jesus? They’ll all say yes. But if you ask a Jehovah’s Witness, do you trust Jesus Christ as your only means of reaching heaven? They’ll say no every time. So that’s the key word. The Greek word translated believe in the New Testament, Pustuo, P-I-S-T-E-U-O, best is translated trust. The English word believed can just mean ascending to historical facts.

But the Greek word really means to trust in Jesus as the only means by which you are saved when you trust Him and Him alone you are saved. Really the Catholics tell you that you can’t understand the Bible, that not even the Catholic priests can understand the Bible and interpret it. They say that only a group in Rome, called the Magisterium, can interpret the Bible and whatever they say the Bible says is what they believe. And that’s unfortunate because the average Roman Catholic therefore doesn’t even read the Bible because they’re discouraged from it.

And the Catholic Church tells them even if they do read it, they won’t be able to understand that they need the Catholic coach to interpret it for them. Yeah, and not only that, but worse than that is, and I’ve heard you talk about this before, is that they believe also that you can lose your salvation and that you have to keep working towards it and, you know, to persevere. How about the angels that were left behind faster? What do you think about that?

They’re in heaven today. The two-thirds of the angels that did not fall of Satan are called the holy angels, the just angels and they presently are living in heaven but they did originally live on the earth until God judged the fallen angels and judged the earth itself and destroyed life on the planet. Thank you very much. Okay, Bert, thank you for calling in from Miami, Florida. We now have Betty and Betty is in Beverly Hills, Florida. Betty, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Yes, good morning, Brad, on the instrument. Good morning. I was interested in your introduction. I want to know if I’m just splitting hairs and it’s a matter of semantics, but when I hear it said that when God created Satan, I think right away that he being not the creator of evil, we should really say that when God created Lucifer, in other words, it was the flaw that he then became Satan or am I splitting hairs? No, you’re exactly right.

Lucifer was the God of this world and when he fell he became Satan which means destroyer and obviously he is Satan today the fallen angel All right, and thank you Betty for calling in from Beverly Hills Florida sounds like a nice place to live and Thank you for calling in today today. All right, we have a lot of all fair questions. I’d like to try to tackle a few of those today. We have Dan in Tampa, Florida says yesterday you said if someone is saved, yet does not live for Christ, he may be taking home to her heaven early.

That seems more of a reward than a punishment. Please help me understand. Well, you’re absolutely right. God is merciful to not let you live out a life that will be a negative for you in eternity by taking you out of here before you could complete your life. Because we’re going to be held accountable for every evil deed that we do and for every good deed that we do. And God will reward the Christian in heaven based upon his works good and bad.

And so definitely if you are taking out early that is a blessing and I agree with you a hundred percent. We have Kenneth in Utah calling in and he says John the Baptist leaped in the womb when approached by Mary pregnant with Jesus did John the Baptist have free will in trust in Christ Christ and I believe absolutely every person has The choice to trust Christ is Savior not. And we find that John the Baptist was obviously his whole development was controlled by the Holy Spirit in the womb.

And obviously the Holy Spirit I think caused the baby to leap when he came in close contact with Jesus. Thank you for that call. This is Bibleline. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re getting close to the end of the first half of the program. Again, let me remind you that we’re listeners supported and we’re running short here in July. In July is just about over one more day tomorrow and July will be concluded. Could you help us as we close out this month to come out even?

And that would mean would you call and give a gift by credit card on the telephone today or call it as for an envelope to be sent and mail your gift into Bible. God bless all of you who give and pray for us. We thank God for you. And it’s just really trusting God that keeps his program on the air because we have leaped out to be on the air in your area and yet we don’t have any visible means of support.

We have just you listeners that send in your contributions to keep Bible on the air. God bless you and thank you. I’m Dr. Englund, so we’re going to take a break. We’ll come right back and do a second half hour. So keep you ready to tune where it is and don’t go away. I’ll be right back after the short break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr.

Englund Striman. It’s great to be with you. We enjoy being with you each and every day. As we come to you live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church, and we invite you to drop by. If you’re ever in Florida and you come to of the west coast and you come to Tampa, please drop by and say hi and visit with us. We’re right next to the airport so it just is a few minutes away from where you would exit the airport, swing around the west side and you’ll find us there one block away from the main north south runway of the Tampa International Airport.

Come by and say hi, we’d love to We meet people all the time that come from all over that have been listening. We got an email this morning from Tanzania in East Africa. Wow, it’s exciting. People are finding Bibleline appreciated. This is a link to email too that people are really appreciating Bibleline and they’re catching us all over the world. 58 countries have logged on and we hope that you’ll tell your friends, your family, your missionaries about Bible and wherever they might be.

And we’re excited about the fact that we can be heard, our programs can be watched and viewed from anywhere on the planet. And that’s amazing, isn’t it? The technology is quite remarkable and we would encourage you to pass that word along to your friends and also take advantage of it for yourself. By the way, again, we are listeners supported and we don’t have any other means of support to carry on the Bible and program. I really hate to talk about money, but God doesn’t want you to miss out on the opportunity to make a big investment for eternity.

In other words, basically, if you give to a ministry that is not doctrinally sound, is not doing the job for God, that can be a negative. It says over in 2 John verse 11, if you bid Godspeed to a ministry that is doctrinally on sound, the Bible says you’ll be partaker of their evil deeds and it means you’ll suffer the loss of reward as a result. even though your intentions might be great, God wants you to give smart. And so hopefully you’ll check out where you’re giving your money and know where it’s going.

And Bible and obviously I think you can find as a doctrineist on ministry that’s reaching people with the gospel. And I believe you’re going to get more rewards in heaven per dollar that you invest than any other ministry probably that you could invest in. I’m Dr. Englinser. We’re going to go back and rejoin the station has been on break. We’re going to do a second half hour right now. So don’t go away. Keep your radio right where it is.

Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right. We’re back for that break. And it’s exciting to be with you every day. This is Wednesday. And we look forward to being with you every day, Monday through Friday. So I hope you’ll plan to listen all the rest of the week. And we know that some people tell us that they listen every day. some. Couples sit there with their coffee and their Bibles they tell me and are listening and following throughout the whole program and throughout the whole week.

I hope you’ll do that too, but we also hope you’ll pass this word along to your friends, neighbors, relatives, missionaries in other country, people in the military in other country, countries let them know that they can get Bibleline anywhere in the world by going to our website Bibleline Ministries. dot org and we hope that you’ll help pass that word along. We’re excited about what God is doing and we believe the Lord is coming back soon. It could be that we only have about two months left.

I don’t know. I don’t know what year the Lord is coming, but if I read the news, I believe we’ve got to be getting close. And you know whatever year the Lord comes, it’ll probably come on the Feast of Trumpets. This year, that is September 30th and October 1st. And that means since April 1st or other August 1st is coming up right here at the end of the week that we might possibly just have August and September and then Christ would come back at the end of September and we’d be out of here.

Two months left. Now, I’m not saying the Lord is going to come this year, but you know, I like to live with that excitement. I believe I’m working against the clock. I believe time is running out for Christians to be a witness here on this earth. This is a time more than ever to step up to the plate and say, I’m going to do all that I can to reach as many as I can for Christ. One of the nice things is that the Bibleline can be your voice.

If you help support us getting this message out by helping us pay the radio bills, I believe you will be an equal shareholder in the blessings that will be given out at the Judge of the City of Christ. And so let me encourage you to join with us as we try to reach as many people with a clear message about what the Bible is saying in all the world until Jesus comes back. Would you partner with us and would you maybe call today and say, Hey, I’ll give a gift to Bibleline by credit card or call and say, Hey, I’ll, I’d like to have an envelope sent with your address on it.

I’ll mail the gift into Bible and that would sure be helpful especially as we’re in the lean summer months and we’re going to come up short here in July. We need your help to make sure that we make it through the summer being able to pay all of our bills. That means we’ll stay on the air in your area. Would you help us today? Want to thank you in advance. God bless all of you. I’d like to reach out and hug you for praying for and giving the Bible and you truly are special and you’re making this program happen uh…

through your uh… love and concern and your prayers and your gifts to Bible and we’ll go to the phone numbers uh… here we have angelo in my ami florida and uh… angelo welcome to bible and you’re on the yeah i don’t know i just had a one quick question i was uh… when it was uh… cap people could to heaven or not. I didn’t really understand what was said earlier about that. Okay. Basically Catholics that trust Jesus Christ alone is their Savior go to heaven.

Catholics who are trusting in the Catholic Church to save them will go to hell. Baptists that trust Jesus Christ is their only hope of heaven will go to heaven. Baptists that are trusting in their works and their good deeds to get them to heaven will go to hell. Methodists that trust Jesus Christ as their Savior is our only hope of heaven will go to heaven and Methodists that are trusting in their works and are good deeds to get them to heaven will go to hell.

And I can continue on and on. But the point is that God does not recognize any organization or denomination if you read your Bible carefully there are only two groups in this world. Those that believe on Christ and those that do not believe on Christ and those that trust Christ are saved and those who do not trust on Christ are lost. So I don’t keep the lambs of a life, but I am concerned. I was raised in a church, it was a Protestant church, but I don’t think anybody in my church was saved.

So I don’t think anybody was trusting Christ to get them to heaven, although they would have claimed to be Christian and although they were doing loads of good works. They obviously when I confronted them about what I believed they said that I could not be saved by just trusting Christ. I had to and they had this lengthy list of works to do. So there’s a lot of churches like that. And if you’re not careful and you don’t look at the Bible and see what it has to say, you might be misled as to how to be saved.

But you’re only saved through Christ. Christ said, I’m the way the truth of life. No man comes under the Father but by me. Jesus says in John 647, he the belief of our trust upon me has. present tense, everlasting life. So you receive eternal life at the moment you trust Christ and has nothing to do with what church you attend. No, yeah, I understand that. I’ve been reading the Bible. I was just curious about all the priests and the nuns and that all depends on what the individual believes.

That’s true. I’ve led a couple of Catholic priests to Christ and they’re going to go to heaven. I’m afraid that a lot of Roman Catholic priests are not saved. Okay, thank you very much. All right. And I hope that helps and thank you for that call. Obviously, God knows who has and who has not. But the Roman Catholic Church official teaching is that you have to, through the Catholic Church, earn grace by keeping the sacraments and that the Church is the means by which you can become saved.

The Pope just recently said that the primal Church on the face of the earth is the Roman Catholic Church and that if you want to be saved you have to be a part of that or you may not make it. We’re now going to go to Allen in Miami, Florida and Allen welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Hi good morning Pastor. I was just curious, this may be a silly question. How come God allowed to have a lot of them to have about nine hundred women are you wondering if we’re only allowed to have one well you’re absolutely right now i don’t know how he handled it yet i think seven hundred wives and he had three hundred concubines that’s a thousand women and uh…

i’d just uh… uh… can’t believe he could uh… even uh… know their names uh… you know i mean that’s that’s a lot of uh… names the As you can imagine, this listing of a thousand names and being able to recite them. But in any case, it caused him a lot of grief. And because of that, Solomon’s heart got turned away because of those wives. And he introduced false worship into Israel and Jerusalem. And God judged him severely and took away the kingdom from Solomon.

And he paid a big price for that. But he did disobey God. If you read Deuteronomy 17, 17, it says that they were not to be multiply wives to themselves and that they were not to take second wives and it’s very clear all the way throughout the Old Testament that these men simply broke the rules and as a result they did pay a consequence for it and that’s unfortunate. Somebody once teasing said that Jesus said no man can have two masters and he was probably referring to marrying two women.

You’d have two masters. I’m just teasing of course. Hope that helps Alan. Thank you a lot. Thank you. All right. That was Alan down in Miami, Florida and Solomon and a number of Old Testament saints broke the rules but they always paid a price. We’re gonna go to Gainesville, Florida and we have Ray on the line from Gainesville and welcome to Bibleline Ray. Yes, Dr. Lynch, are you hearing the program on the internet or on broadcast? On the internet, because we don’t get you up here in Gainesville.

Okay. But I have a question and I’ll go ahead and hang up after I listen, I have to ask it. Where does it say anywhere in the Bible that Judas went to or had either of the other Detroit Jesus? If you read Acts chapter 1, it tells us that he went to his own place and apparently that is a special place within the place of torment in Hades in the heart of the earth. So clearly he’s not in hell yet.

There’s nobody in hell yet, but after Satan’s cast in hell, he will ultimately be cast in hell. And obviously he’ll have a high level of punishment. Inhale because of his sin. But that’s the best passage I would think of right now is it’s about verse 25 or so in Acts chapter 1. Thank you very much, sir. You’re welcome, Ray. And take a look at that and see it for yourself. Let me catch another offer a question here. We have Sammy in Alabama.

Calls in, leaves us all fair a question. He says, we heard you mention that Armageddon will only last one hour. Could you please tell me where to find this information? Well, if we go to the book of Revelation, I’ll point out a couple of verses for you. And it says in Revelation chapter 18, where it talks about Armageddon, it says here in verse 10, for in one hour is thy judgment come. If you look over in verse 17, for in one hour, so great riches has come to not.

There’s a third verse here in my eyes, just skip over it here, but there are three verses here that talk about one hour. That’s not hard to believe today when we have intercontinental ballistic missiles that Russia can hit us in 30 minutes from launch and wipe out our cities. We can hit Russia in 30 minutes and Russia can hit Europe in 10 minutes. And when you think about it, if everybody launches their missiles at one time, the whole war could be over in less than one hour.

And so the book of Revelation chapter 18, three times, you’ll have the phrase, one hour. So I hope that Sammy in Alabama was listening today and caught the answer to that off-air question. That is a good one. We have Jim in Seaverville, Tennessee, and he says, why do the prophetic scriptures describing end times refer to horses? What will we be dealing with tanks, trucks, airplanes, etc? Is it possible that they’ll be using horses in battle? Well you know it’s interesting when you read Ezekiel 38 and it talks about Russia coming down against Israel and it talks about horses.

Well what is interesting is if you look up the Hebrew word it doesn’t mean horse. It means swiftness and flight so it doesn’t designate what it is but that same word is translated in other places in the Old Testament as swallows. So swallows are apparently swift and flight but you can’t ever imagine soldiers riding on the back of a swallow but swiftness and flight could refer to airplanes, tanks, ships, tank carriers, and all those other things. And so it’s just amazing how that we need to do a little bit better homework and look up the original words.

Because I’ve read so many books that talk about horses and countries raising horses and Russia has the largest calvary in the world. And they’re all headed in the wrong direction because the Hebrew word does not mean horse at all. It simply means swiftness in flight and it’s translated swallows in one place and translated horses because the fastest vehicle of war in 1611 when King James translation was made was the horse. If you were to be an army commander and you wanted to get your troops to the battlefield fast, the fastest vehicle in those days was the horse.

So they translated it horse. But today obviously we know that there are faster vehicles of war than the horse. And obviously we have the airplanes and tanks and troop carriers and other things that are much faster today. We now have Matthew and he’s in Spring Hill, Florida. And Matthew, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey, good morning Hank. What does Paul mean when he’s serious may abound? What does that mean? It’s so grace abound. Well he’s talking about basically that God’s grace is sufficient to cover all the sins that you would ever commit.

And of course it says should we take advantage of that and sin? He says God forbid. Of course we’re not to sin that grace may abound. But if we did sin there is no limit to the sins that you could commit and still go to heaven because God’s grace would cover the vilest sinner. I love Isaiah 118 where it says, come and let us reason together, saith the Lord, though your sins be a scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.

Though they be red as crimson, they shall be as white as wool. Well, it’s obviously a reference to the fact that no matter how sinful you might be, I’ve talked to people that have wept and cried and said, I’m just too sinful for God to save me. He He would never save somebody like me. You just don’t know the sins that I have committed. And sometimes it’s sins that are imposed upon you when you’re in war. I’ve had people that have killed people in war and they just can’t seem to ever deal with that and feel like God could never forgive them for shooting people and killing the enemy in a war situation.

other sins that they’ve committed of different nature. But the Bible says that truly his grace is bountiful and will he’ll save the vilest sinner from his penalty of sin and take him to heaven if he’ll only trust the Lord. So the Bible doesn’t qualify who can come. It says whosoever. will come, can take of the water of life freely. Whosoever believeth or trusteth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. So I believe that’s what it’s talking about.

But he’s warning Christians that we don’t have a license to sin, that there are consequences for our sin even though we are covered by God’s grace and will not go to hell. Do you think Paul was saying that there was groups of people that were saying that that into the grace would abound? Well I think that Paul was being sl- slandered as having taught that which he says that he didn’t and he says that pretty strongly there in Romans where he says that we are slandrously reported to have taught that you could live as you please.

Let me quote Romans chapter 3 where Paul says, for if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie, they were accusing him of this lie about sinning because you could get away with it. He says unto his glory, why am I yet judged as a sinner? And not rather as we be slandrously reported and as some affirm that we say, let’s do evil. The good may come. And Paul says their damn nation is just. So they’re obviously were works based and we’re saying that no, you have to work, you would have it.

And Paul is saying, all you have to do is trust Christ and you can sin all you want, you’ll still go to heaven. And Paul was not saying that. And he says that was a slander. And he says they’re accusing me of saying, let’s do evil that good may come. And Paul says their damnation is just. They’ll pay for that one day. And they’re slandering the true message of the gospel, which is that it’s a gift and it’s free.

And it’s true that there’s nothing that can send you to hell if you trust Christ. Amen. And that’s usually the slander that brought against this correct absolutely so we get the same slander today the poll got them yeah right i have one other question okay go ahead can you uh… all hang up with them but can you explain all the illustration of uh… the gentiles being grafted into the olive tree well obviously uh… abraham uh… was the father of faith and uh…

the the the descendants of abraham were the ones who were the keepers of the uh… scriptures and and and the Old Testament prophets were all Jewish and The Messiah came about through Israel. So they were the true olive tree They were the true root as to how we were to be saved Abraham believed Genesis 15 6 and was saved He was made righteous based on his trust and the coming Savior And so when Israel was cut off as the witnessing Group in the world when they rejected Christ That doesn’t mean God is all through with Israel because he’s going to come back and continue his promises for them the earthly promises of an earthly kingdom after the rapture during the tribulation period.

But now he’s taking us Gentiles who are called wild olive branches and have grafted us into that same root. So my heritage is still the faith of Abraham. The Bible says in the books to the New Testament Church, which are primarily Gentiles, that if you believe as Abraham believed, that’s how you’re saved. And if you believe as Abraham believed, you are Abraham’s seed and you are Christ’s seed. And so that’s really what it’s saying. But the age is going to end here and nobody can lose their salvation.

As a body, the Gentiles will no longer be the witnessing body, and God will go back to grafting natural branches back in Jewish people during the tribulation period who are unsaved will be grafted back onto the root of Abraham by faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and carry on the olive tree with being natural branches. We’re Gentiles, we’re not natural branches, but we’re grafted in and become the seed of Abraham spiritually. I’m not a Jew, but I’m a seed of Abraham by faith and I’m a part of the spiritual family that he’s a father of.

Hopefully that helps. And thank you, Matthew. I think Matthew’s already hung up. We’re gonna go now to let’s see, Ken in Decatur, Illinois and Ken, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Yes, Dr. Hank, I have a question about the Rirey Study Bible. There’s just no way that a person can understand all these different translations. I want to know if it’s a good one. I understand that Rirey graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary, and that’s usually a pretty good reference. But what about that Bible as it compares to the Scofield?

I don’t think it’s as good at all. I like the Scofield. skill field above all of them uh… the library study bible is excellent but apparently he didn’t uh… right all the notes because of the one in james is terrible If you look up James 2, it will say that faith and works are to each part of a two-ticket coupon, both of which are necessary to go to heaven. And I don’t believe he ever wrote that. I’ve read all of Ryrie’s books and he doesn’t teach that.

And so somebody wrote a note that was just terrible. And that one alone keeps me from recommending the Ryrie Study Bible. But it still is a very good Bible. It has a lot of great notes in it. I like Dr. Charles Reirey very much and I believe he’s a real defender of the faith and of the gospel of grace. But unfortunately that note got in that Bible and under his nose I’m sure if he was confronted with that today, I’m sure he would say I apologize that it ever got in there.

And there’s not much we can do about it now but that is one of the bad notes. There’s usually when I check out a Bible, I’ll check out Some of the key passages that are really strong on Salvation and grace and if they don’t get those right then I don’t have much confidence in the rest of the notes in any Bible And but the right of my was is except for that note. I I find it very good Okay, well the reason I was asking is you know a person can’t read every Bible and a friend of mine’s using that Bible and before I talked to him I wanted to know what he would what he’d been reading and how accurate and how it compared to the Scofield.

One other thing about Dr. Rairi I understood that he did not accept a pre-creation before the you know the what we were just talking about here this morning. You know when the angels occupied the earth you know when the earth was formed and void. I understand without form and void. that he did not accept that. I don’t know if that’s true though because I read that somewhere else about him, of course, having not believing that there was a creation before the present creation.

Do you know anything about that? I can’t recall right now. I’ve got so many things in my head that I don’t… put as much stock in memorizing what people believe as opposed to the Bible. But it was the traditional teaching right up until this young earth group came along out of California with the Creation Research Institute with Henry Amoris and that group and they popularized the young earth and I think that they have a lot of flaws in what they’re teaching in and I don’t agree with them at all.

I think biblically, it does teach in original creation that was not void, not vain, and was inhabited. If you read Jeremiah 4, Jeremiah was caught back into the past to actually see the earth when it became void and without form. It actually tells us that what he saw in the past, which is equivalent to Genesis 1-2, it’s a direct quote, was because of the anger and the wrath and it occurred by the very presence of God himself. There’s nothing else in the Bible that would match up to that event that was a past destruction of the earth where it became void without form and it was due to the wrath and anger of God himself.

Jeremiah, of course, an incredible passage. And Jeremiah was actually taken back and caught a glimpse of what God did when he originally destroy the earth and there’s numerous other passages also that would support that and and Bible teachers taught the original earth and then its destruction and a seven-day recreated week up until rather recently and I think this new position is not defendable. I think we had a dark sky at night because the light from these stars is coming from billions of light years away.

If If the Earth is only 6000 years old, we’d only see light from stars that are within six light years and or 6000 light years and we’d probably have a pretty dark sky that’d be no stars hardly at all shining. Yes, I was just wondering about Ryrie because I read a critique on that front part of that Bible and I just need to get the information from him. Anyway, God bless you, doctor. And keep up the good work. Okay, Ken, thank you for calling from up there in Illinois.
