Great time to enjoy Jesus as we think about His coming into this world, to become our Savior. And Bethlehem of course is where He was born,, but you must believe in His death, burial and resurrection in order to be saved. So Bethlehem is important, but you can celebrate Christmas and wind up in hell. You must trust Christ as Savior, believing He died and shed His blood and paid your sin dead and full with buried in rose again from the dead in order to be saved.
Paul the Apostle said very clearly in Romans 1-16, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. The gospel, not the birth of Christ, the gospel of Christ, for the gospel, the good news message of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe it. That’s Romans 1 16. When you believe the gospel message, that’s when God saves you. By the way, we have that Christmas special still going. If you’d like to get in on that for a special gift of $100, we’ll send youatever 20.
How permanent is your salvation? CDs. which are great. great for evangelism all year long along with that 20 tracks to go with it. The book on handbook. A personal evangelism, the greatest book on leading souls to Christ that I know of. Also, you’ll be able to get the DVD video presentation of the gospel that I have. A seven minute one that’s great for gatherings in a small group. You can get them all to sit around the TV set. I’m sure for seven minutes and they’ll hear the plan of salvation and a invitation that they might trust the Lord as their Savior.
Also some of my articles. value of about $150 for a gift of $100. Call in and we’ll get that out to you as quick as we can. That’s the Christmas special. Thanks again for tuning in and we’re going to go to the Bible for a few minutes. Then we’re going to be taking our callers. We already have people calling in. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. We mentioned yesterday a little bit about angels, angels always appear in the Bible as men.
Angels do not have wings. There are no female angels and there are no baby angels because angels don’t have children. You know in Matthew 22.30 Jesus said angels do not marry nor are they given in in marriage, Matthew 22.30. Another good reason why Genesis 6 cannot be talking about angels. First of all, God never called an angel his son. Secondly, angels don’t marry. Very clear. In Matthew 22 verse 30. The angel population is not changed by one, up or down.
Angels don’t die. And they don’t produce children. So the angel population is exactly the same as it is or was at the creation. When God created all the angels at one time, they are innumerable. They don’t have wings. And by the way, not a verse anywhere in the Bible that says that angels sing. It was interesting in the paper here in Tampa, they talked about St. Michael being a saint to pray to that is the patron saint for law enforcement and so on.
But in doing my homework I found out that St. Michael is the same as Michael the Archangel and isn’t this ever confusing as far as biblical doctrine. The Roman Catholic Church took Michael the Archangel and made him a saint. Now that’s incredibly wrong because you have to be a human to be a saint and humans don’t become saints or rather become angels and angels don’t become humans and you can only saint a human. Did you know that every believer by the way is a saint?
We’re not saints by election, by some committee or some group or some process of electing somebody to be a saint, but every believer at the moment of belief becomes a saint. In 1 Corinthians 1, it tells his here that the letter to the 1 Corinthians 1 is under the Church of God which is at Corinth to them that are sanctified. The word sanctified from the Greek means to make pure and holy, and every believer is made pure and holy the moment they trust Christ.
Here it addresses the believers at Corinth as those that were sanctified in Christ Jesus, then it says, called saints. You see the verb form is sanctified, which means to make pure and holy. The noun form is saint. So every person that has been sanctified is a saint and that’s every believer and it goes on to say with all them that in every place. Call upon the name of Jesus Christ. So in other words, wherever you might live, wherever you might be, any place in the world, if you call upon the name of Jesus Christ for your salvation, you trust Him as your Savior.
God saves you, He sanctifies you, makes you pure and holy in God’s sight, and as a result you’re called a saint. Believe it or not, I’m Saint Hank. That’s right. It might sound funny or strange. And just remember you’re a saint too, if you have trusted Christ as your only hope of heaven. But to try to make an angel a saint is crazy because that’s not biblical at all. Angels can’t become saints. The Angels, which are God’s Angels. The Just Angels of the Bible says they are God’s angels, the Holy Angels, and they obviously are humans and only humans can be redeemed and become saved and become saints.
So it’s only believers that are sanctified, made pure and holy, and are called saints at the moment of belief. I say God’s plan is for believers is that we become instant saints. And the false program, of course, is to have some kind of elective body which elects certain people to be saints, which are uniquely different. But certainly somebody messed up big time when they took an angel and made them a saint. That’s like making an angel a human when Michael the Archangel is not a saint.
And he should be never called Saint Michael because Michael is Michael the Archangel. And by the way, as believers, we become higher in position above the angels. If you are unsaved, then you are beneath the angels, the Bible says in Hebrews 2. But once you trust Christ’s Savior in position, you are higher than the angels, and throughout eternity angels will minister to you and me. Hebrews 113 in the book of Hebrews tells us that angels are ministers to us who are saints.
So ministers to saints are angels. So angels don’t become saints. I hope I haven’t confused you. But read, if you will, Hebrews chapter 10. It says, by the will of God, Hebrews 10, 10, we are sanctified. That’s the verb form. made pureed holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. So the moment you believe on Christ that he died for you and offered up his body at the cross and paid for your sins by his death and shed blood was buried and rose again from the dead.
You are sanctified and of course the noun form is saint. You are a saint from that moment on. And if you read 1 Corinthians 1, 2, living believers, just ordinary people like you and me that trusted Jesus Christ as Savior, that were sanctified in Christ Jesus, were called saints right there. And there is no process to go through after death to vote on you becoming a saint. And certainly you can’t make an angel a saint because an angel is not a human.
Only humans are sanctified by the blood of Christ at Calvary and therefore only those that are sanctified in Christ through trusting in His death. Hebrews 10-10 says, by the Witchwill or by the will of God, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Therefore, as a person who has been sanctified, the noun form is a saint. We are saints at the moment we believe. I’m amazed that so many things that we get taught that are just not difficult, they’re just not in the Bible, and this is certainly one of those.
And I am Saint Hank. And if you’re a believer, you’re saint, whoever you are. And we will probably talk to some saints this morning on the radio. If you call it in your believer, you are a saint. And certainly, hopefully, you understand that. Jesus Christ, of course, is God who came and took on human flesh, born of a virgin. When Isaiah 714 it tells us that a virgin would conceive and bear a son and would call his name Emmanuel.
That was written 740 years before Christ ever came into this world. And when you trust in this Savior, who is God, who took on a human body and grew up and became a man and went to the cross and died to pay for our sins, when you trust that at Calvary he purchased your salvation. save you. That’s the best news you’re ever going to hear. We’re going to go to the phone lines. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is BimeBlind.
You’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We have Jerry in Tampa, Florida on the line, and Jerry, welcome to BimeBlind Year on the air. Hello. Hi, Jerry. You’re on the air. Thank you. My question this morning is, and by the way, thank you for your showing and your efforts. My question is about in Samuel where David first became known to Saul as his heart player. And then as he goes to come out and kill Goliath, he shows up and Saul recognizes him and talks to him and is apparently known to Saul.
And then after David kills Goliath and comes back to the to the battle line. Saul had a and brought before him and requires who he iscms could you explain that now take the answer you know what chapter that verses them and if you’re working the chapter where he killed the liah last of the chapter where saw cause mob and says who is a shot by a man who says i am david son of jesse and but he already knew him in that same chapter and the chapter part of that one he knew and as a heart player because you may feel better when it and then um…
you know he mentioned several times in that chapter that they were clinton season that the end of the chapter of the last two verses of the he acquires of david who david is and i was wondering why that is well i’ll have to find that verse and try to do that for you i’m uh… looking at that chapter right now and i’m not sure which verse you’re talking about but it may be that he’s just uh… perhaps surprise And he’s asking, who is this David here?
Who obviously defeated this champion for the Philistines? Let me try to find that verse. I’m in the chapter here, which is in 1st Samuel chapter 17, but I need to find the exact verse. I’ll hold on to that and keep listening, Jerry. We’ll try to get to it sometime. I’ll have maybe somebody here trying to find me the exact verse. We’re going to go to Robert and Robert is in Pompa de Beach, Florida. Robert, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Pastor Lince from Hawaii.
This is St. Robert in Pompa de Beach, Florida. Wonderful St. Robert. It does sound a little strange when you say it out loud. I know it. Well, I’m calling you back because I’m starting to be to pain but I need the explanation for St. Luke chapter 10 verses 25 to 37. I think you think it’s the rich young ruler but it’s a lawyer and my friend thinks that this is the way to be saved and I’m trying to show him that it isn’t and if you could just go through those verses for me.
Okay, I will do that. So this is the lawyer that comes to Christ. Yes, it’s a lawyer and he says, what should I do to inherit eternal life? And Christ says, what is written in the law? How readeth thou? And then he says, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy strength and with all thy mind and thy neighbor as Iself. Then Christ says to him, thou has answered right this do and thou shalt live.
And so it seems like Christ is telling him that he needs to do this to be saved. But if you’ll notice this, that’s something about what does it mean when the lawyer stood up and tempted Christ? What does that mean, Dr. Minson? I believe he’s trying to probably set Christ up for a fall to test him, to bring a test question to him that Christ could not answer. But the law did demand absolute righteousness for salvation. That’s what Christ was pointing out.
But obviously nobody has ever been able to keep the law in order that they might be saved. So if your friend is able to keep all the law, then say go at it because then you can be saved. But if you read Galatians chapter 3 verse 10, if you break one law one time in your life that would send you to hell. It says, cursed, relations through 10, is everyone that keep a thought all that is written in the book of the law to do.
So I would put that down. And James 2 10 says also, whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offended one point is guilty of all. So in other words, if you just broke one commandment, which one of them might be telling a lie, which would be to bear false witness, then you would be guilty of all and you would wind up in hell. So if he’s going to attempt to be saved by the law, he better keep all the law, all of his life, and never fail once.
And nobody’s ever able to do that. Well, he seemed to think that he the after what is written in the law, how read is our Christ as after the lawyer, then the lawyer answers back saying, down shall love the Lord thy God with all and so he thinks this is the summary of the law that shall love the Lord that God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy strength and with all thy mind and the neighbor and neighbor and neighbor as myself.
So he thinks this is the law in you know in a short abbreviation and so God. Well, but nobody’s ever even done that. You know, this is the problem. You know, when you go to the store and you see a nice outfit, you’d like to get for yourself. You say, well, you know, I love my neighbor just as much as I do myself. I think I’ll buy him one also. It doesn’t happen. It doesn’t. So obviously he’s fooling himself.
You have to really go to the epistles to get a real clear explanation of the law. And the law was given to point out to us our failure and our lack of righteousness that were not capable of keeping the law and the Bible says that we are saved really without the law through Christ because the law could never save us. Amen. Now he goes into a parable at the end of that. Yeah, because he was talking about who is your neighbor then.
The guy was trying to work wiggle his way out of this thing as a lawyer. He was trying to do his lawyer thing and so Christ then gives the parable of the good Samaritan. He says, who is your neighbor? Well, obviously the Samaritans and the Jews had nothing to do with each other. And here was this poor Samaritan who fell prey to these thieves. And so here was one that you normally would, it’s a racial type of thing. It’s a racial prejudice you would not have had anything to do with him.
And yet he was cared for and Christ is pointing that your neighbor is anyone in a human race, right? And so that maybe there’s somebody who might be in your eyes despicable for whatever reason. That person would be somebody you ought to help as your neighbor. And I think this young fellow probably didn’t pick up on that picture. But no doubt we’re saved by grace and without the law. It’s just hard to show him because it seems like Christ doesn’t really correct him erect him the way he does with the rich young ruler but uh…
i’m just have to show those other verses like it’s a lot of the say well if you want to go and try to be safe of the law wonderful but remember the warning hearing in glacial three ten that your cursed if you don’t keep all the law continuously all of your life if you break one commandment then you’re doomed their hell you know i’ll point that out to them and one last real quick question doctor linson he told me something that kind of for me says well why would god create a soul because god is omniscient he knows everything past uh…
before it even happened why we create a soul knowing that that soul that’s going to go to hell and i couldn’t answer that what would you say to someone like i i i think the answer is that he wanted creatures of choice that would love him of their own will or volition uh… you know he could have made us all robots and we would say i love you god i love you but uh… he he didn’t want that he wanted creatures and if you give us choice that obviously some of the issues not and uh…
and that’s the case of and we got god was willing to respond but we could be knows the future to the end of that but i was willing to pay that price to have creatures that would say no and not accepting he really gave us a true choice to accept to reject the lord alright doctor won’t take up any more your time thank you so much god bless you mary christmas america’s is the same robert thank you by heart right we have uh…
betty in beverley hill florida and betty welcome to buy blind and this is same thing yet this is saying that he morning all right betty how you doing good good but then i have a comment and a question on revelation one ten I understand that when John said that he was in the spirit on the Lord’s Day, and it heard it behind me a loud voice as of a trumpet, my understanding is that he is actually referring to the day of the Lord, the tribulation actually is being set up, and that John was projected forward in time in this vision, and this is what he’s seeing.
I was taken to task by someone for not believing that it was Sunday. Well, you know, I think it could be both. For sure. The day of the Lord is a thousand year day. If you read Isaiah, it occurs so many times. And all the major, major, minor prophets, the day of the Lord is a thousand year day. And in the broadest sense, it includes the seven years of tribulation that preceded the fall of the rapture. But the day of the Lord could also be the day that he rose from the dead, which is Sunday.
I think it might have been on the Sunday, but he’s really referring here to the to the thousand-year day that John was projected, like you said, into the future and actually saw these things and he was told to write down what he saw. So he was not just being dictated to here. He was actually transported into the future and he was to write what he saw as he saw the events in the future play out in this wonderful book of Revelation.
Yeah, which would be judgment. And I’m thinking particularly if someone would go back to Joel, the book of Joel, the chapter, first chapter, and then also the second chapter that certainly the things are being set up there for judgment. And then within a few verses Christ appears as the High Priest in those garments and so forth. But anyway, I wanted to know what your take was on it. and uh… this this phrase of course as you know the day of the lord is heavily used throughout the old testament and uh…
you know the fact that judgment is being dealt with that particular subject right here that’s the way i understood it well i think you’re right on and i think it could uh… uh… have a double meaning where it could have been on sunday and at the same time be the records day but also it could be the thousand year day as well which i am sure it is. Alright, thank you and Mary-Krisman. Mary-Kris, it’s to you, Betty, and thank you for calling in today.

And David answered, I am the son of the servant Jesse, the Bethlehemite. So apparently it wasn’t like who are you, but basically we want to know who his father was.
I believe that’s probably the answer you’re looking for there, and hopefully that has helped. Samuel 17 verse 58. These are also available for you to get. Well we’re going to go back to the phone lines. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. We have Bob I believe is waiting in Sarasota, Florida. Bob welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Oh, yeah. Oh, right. The same hand cut is. Yeah, same hand cut is the same bottle, I guess. Listen, I’m going to put something to you and I’m going to hang up and listen. What I have is the scripture says that God wishes that all men would be saved or come to the saving knowledge of Christ.
And it says you can’t come to Christ Jesus said unless God draws him from heaven. I mean, unless my father draws you. Would you comment on this and kind of clear up that issue and how does that affect people that are in other false doctrines? You know that. Alright, thanks. You’re welcome, Bob. And that was Bob down in Sarasota. In John 644, it says, no man can come to the Father except the Father. Draw Him. And that is absolutely true.
But what you’re generally not told is it says in John 12, you need to write this one down. John’s Gonsful Chapter 12. Jesus said, and I, if I be lifted up, and he’s talking there about the cross of Calvary, and I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men, all men unto me. So it’s true, you can’t come to the Father except the Father draw you, but notice it says in John 12 in verse 32 that he draws all.
So everybody is drawn. And the point is that you can accept or reject Christ, but he draws everybody. If he didn’t, no one would seek the Lord, no one would find the Lord, but he draws us and he draws all, and he wants for all to be saved, but you can reject him. In verse 33 of John 12, it says, this he said, signifying what death by which he should dying. The Lord is being lifted up from the earth was a reference to the cross and how he would die.
If he was lifted up, which he was and died on the cross of Calvary, he would draw all men unto himself. So John 644, no man can come to the Father except the Father of the drawing. But what your general note told us he draws all men, everybody. Thank you. And we now are going to Cal in Bradenton, Florida and Cal, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Cal, are you there? Don’t listen to your radio or you’ll never get up.
Cal is listening to the radio. I think we’ll have to hold him and see if we can’t come back to Cal. We have Betty in Tampa, Florida and Betty, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. morning pasta hank. I was reading Isaiah 62 yesterday and came across verses 1 through 4. And in verse 4, it seemed to me like he was changing the name of Israel to Bula and the people to Hepsaba. Am I incorrect in thinking that? Well, yeah, if you notice in the margin here, it says that he’s no longer going to call him desolate, but married, and that’s what that word means.
And so this is a reference to the fact that God is going to restore Israel, and if you have a Scofield right at the top of the chapter that says, Restoration of Israel, they, because of their disobedience have been dispersed twice. When Jesus comes back, he’s going to gather them all up from all of the earth and bring them back into their land. The Lord here is, of course, spoken of in the Bible as the husband of Israel. They will again be married to Jehovah and enjoy the relationship between Christ being here on the earth, ruling as their king, and they will be the head nation.
What word is it, Bula? That means married? The other one is, let’s see, yeah, Bula. I’m in my margin of my Bible that says, the first word means my delight is in her. The second word, Bula, means married. Okay. Okay. That’s what I wanted to make sure of. And I wasn’t sure if it was at the time of earlier, like you just said, or if it was after the second advent. Yes. This is going to be the second coming of Christ.
It is. Okay. That’s what I needed to know. Thank you so much. You’re so welcome. And thank you for calling. That was Betty in Tampa. We have, let’s see here, Jane in Richmond, Virginia. Jane, welcome to Bibleline, and you’re on the air. Hello, this is Ms. James. How are you? Good. Well, I enjoy your program and it’s so inspiring. And thank God for you all. Thank you. I try to get an understanding of the path over and the other possible when they all sit them at the table with the five-one churches through communion.
When you sit due to the members of me as much as you can, as often as you can. Okay, trying to get understanding of that. That’s for everyone who does the right thing to take communion when it comes to being in church, right? Every believer ought to observe the Lord’s Supper when it’s offered in your church and It’s a way of being reminded. Of the greatness of God’s law, of the greatness of the sacrifice that He made at the cross, because we take of the elements, the bread broken represents Christ’s broken body that was broken by those spikes that pierced through His hands and through His feet as He was nailed to the cross, and the cup representing His blood that was shed, which Christ says is the blood of the New Covenant, the New Testament, the New Contract, whereby God said, would save all those who would believe on
Christ. And so we’re reminded that it required Christ’s death at the cross and his shed blood for our salvation to be purchased. And it’s a reminder of how greatly he loved us and how great a sacrifice he gave. But why did some so-called believers think that it’s only for their pastos during their doing their time and not for the ones that are out here doing it with us all. Well, they’re certainly not reading the Bible very carefully. If you read 1 Corinthians chapter 11, for example, in verse 23, Paul tells the believers at Corinth that had gotten saved through Paul coming there and preaching the gospel that they were to do this in remembrance of Christ.
So believers everywhere are to do this. And of course, if you read First Grandinians as we began the program today, it’s addressed to those in every place that call upon the name of Jesus. So that’s us here in America and those that are in South America and Africa and Europe and wherever you might be in the world. We’re all enjoined during this time to remember Christ. It says as often as we do this in 1st Corinthians 1126, we proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.
So it points back to the cross until He comes back for us. And so in the interim between the 1st and 2nd commings, we’re to be observing the Lord’s Supper. Oh, okay. Thank you so much. You’re so welcome. And thank you for that call from Richmond, Virginia. We have Doug again, Pensacola, Florida, and Doug, welcome to bottom line. You are on the air. I could warn you, preacher. Good morning. I just wanted to get on briefly in time and I’m the, uh, fellow called about David and Saul.
Yeah. Sir. Yes. Go ahead. Uh, it was there? Yeah. Go ahead. Yeah. Yeah. Carry me a pretend spear. Uh, David and Saul were brought together in first, uh, and I believe what they call it was referring to was the answer with the harp. Now when this happened the spirit of the Lord was on David and the part of the saw. Everything that happened between these two men after that showed that God was vexing Saul and David would come and play the harp.
So each incident between David and Saul illustrated that Saul was becoming demented and delusional as far as throwing the land at him. When he was in the cave and he had his feet covered, David came in and cut him on his garment. And he went to the witch of Endor. This was a man whose mental problems ended in the collapse and that’s in the evil spirit. So when you go back to 1 Samuel 16, you’ll see that gentleman was correct.
Saul knew who David was and then in the incident with David and Goliath. He didn’t even recognize him. Okay. Well, I’m going to study a little more carefully myself, but thank you for that explanation. Okay, thank you, sir. All right, that was a duck up in Pensacola, Florida, and very, very good. All right, we have Jeff down in Venice, Florida, and Jeff, welcome to my one year on the year. How you doing, Dr. Hank? I appreciate you taking my call.
I wanted to comment more on what you just said about all men being drawn. Looking at the scriptures, especially through John’s section, just numerous, numerous other passages, Jesus specific, however, that you are not my sheep. You do not hear my voice because you are not my sheep, my sheep hear my voice. Jesus was talking about a specific group of people and I was just wondering how… You reconcile that with all being drawn. I mean, all people are not drawn.
I mean, there’s people in far reaches of the earth that have never even hurt the gospel. And we do know John 14, 6, nobody can come to the Father but by me, those people have never had the opportunity to come to Christ. And, you know, I know there’s big debates on, you know, Calvinism and harmoniousism and stuff like that. And, you know, I don’t plan to be in a church. expert on either one however it’s taking a look at the scriptures you know jesus specifically always mentioned group a specific group of people that he that did hear his voice you’re right and of course that group is those that believe when you believe you become a sheep you become born again and they are the ones that here the voice of christ from that point on because they are uh…
those that are the same But the lost are being drawn and they can negate that. But if they seek the Lord, then God promises to get the message to them wherever they might be. My television programs are being aired in Mongolia. And I was talking to the fellow over there that runs the television station. And he said there are 30,000 Christians that they know of in Mongolia. So God has his people all over the world and people are seeking and are finding the gospel and God uses radio and television and personal witness to get the message to people.
And I have led people to Christ from many countries and our Bibleline website is reaching Oh, 147 countries have logged on. And so the Lord has different ways of getting the message out to them. But he first seeks them. He says that the Son of Man has come to seek it and say that which is lost. Luke 19 and 10. Christ, of course, is seeking us. the Holy Spirit is drawing people that are lost. If they want to find the Lord, then the Lord will see that they hear the message.
They may not know who God is or know the message of Christ, but if they respond to that drawing, then they will hear the message and they will believe the truth and they will become saved. So that’s the key pointer. Well, yeah, and I agree with you, that are people and your website and your ministry, even though you and I differ on views on the subject, I truly affirm that your ministry is reaching out and affecting people in terms of salvation.
It’s hard for me to reconcile all over the scriptures the Bible specifically talks about people being drawn. You have Jesus saying thank you Father for not revealing the truth but to the wise and the prudent but to the babes. I think there’s just… Well there is talking I think about those that aren’t really seeking at all. They’re just wise in their own conceits and the truth is hidden from those. But those that are seeking, even though they’re not very, very intellectually wise, a child can even understand the Gospel and trust the Lord.
And so if they’re seeking, they’re going to find the truth. I love Jeremiah 29, 13. That’s the verse I like to go to many times. It says, and you shall seek me and find me when you shall search me with all your heart. So if you are looking for the Lord, he says you’re going to find me. And I think, and the Lord is obviously seeking us first. And he’s drawing us. And if you say, no, no, no, no, no, you can go through life and never find the Lord.
But if you say, yes, I would like to know who you are Lord and seek, then you’re going to find him. Once again, I see in the way I look at the scriptures art, all are admitted and said there’s nothing that good lives in the flesh. All it got haters turned their back on the Lord. So if it all comes down to me that, you know… Well, that’s true with the nature of man as such that man doesn’t seek after God.
You’re reading, of course, that whole long list in Romans chapter 3 where it says there’s none righteous, and not one. There’s none that seek after God, no, not one. But that is with disregard to God the Holy Spirit seeking us and sparking that interest in us. And if we do respond to that, then we will find the Lord. You know, the Lord Christ came to seek and find us, and he’s out there looking for us right now. If he finds somebody who is wanting to find him, then he will see that they get that message.
We’re sure to thank you, Jeff, and I hope that helps a little bit, but I believe that God wants everybody to be saved. Second Peter 3 tells us that he’s not willing that any should perish, but all should come and as we saw in John 1232, he draws all men unto himself, and those obviously have to be true statements. And so everybody is being drawn, but not everybody comes to know Christ because they do have personal choice to reject the Lord if they don’t want him.
We have Sherry in New York called in and she leaves this question off here. She said she and her husband are due to the area recently found out that the current church doesn’t believe once they’ve always saved. Is this a reason to leave this church or to stay there to make a change? What do we look for in a true church? And Sherry, I think that means you get to get out. It’s a major area. If the church teaches you can lose your salvation, that means their teaching works for salvation.
Because they’re saying that what you do in your future between now and when you die will determine your salvation that makes you the Savior, not Christ, and it’s all works based. The true message of the gospel takes the lost of nine sinner and points us back to the cross where Jesus said, it’s finished. And so it takes us back to the past to what Christ did for us. The false gospel always points you to your own future and to what you will do or not do that will ultimately determine your salvation.
So what you need to do, and by the way, you can download it off my internet site or call us and we’ll send it to you. I have a sheet called Beliefs That Matter and beliefs that matter gives about a quick summary of about 20 doctrines, 24 doctrines or so that every sound church ought to embrace, I believe. And so you can kind of get on the phone even and just interview and ask, what do you believe about the Bible?
What do you believe about the Godhead? What do you believe about Christ? What do you believe about salvation? Do you believe you You can lose your salvation and you can get that sheet and it will help you find a good church. But if the church you’re in teaches you can lose your salvation. I believe they are teaching works for salvation and most generally I believe these people are not saved although they are claiming they are Christian. They’re really trusting in their works and they’re living the Christian life to get them to heaven.
Kim in Albany, New York calls in and she says, once a person is baptized, does everything they did before baptism become forgiven? And Kim, baptism has nothing to do with your salvation. When a person puts their trust in Christ, everything you have done past, present and future is forgiven. So you’re forgiven of all of your sins that you would ever come in in your whole lifetime when you place your trust in Jesus Christ as Savior. John 3 16 says it, Kim, for God to love the world, that means you that he gave his only begotten son.
That was Jesus Christ, that whosoever that is Kim, if she would believe or trust in Christ, that Kim would not perish because Christ perished in your place, but you would have ever lasting life. Jim in Luke’s 4 that calls in and says, where is a verse in the Bible? It says, Once you trust Christ in a Savior, your sins are forgiven.” Well, I love Acts 1043, Jim. It says to Jesus, or Yeshua, give all the prophets witness that through his name, whosoever believeth in him shall receive the remission of their sins.
That’s a good one, isn’t it, Jim? Jim that’s Acts chapter 10 verse 43 when you believe in Yeshua or Jesus Then your sins are forgiven.
