Are you ready? Here we are for the first time announcing what we’ll be teaching will be teaching the book of Jude an An amazing book jam-packed a connecting link between the 64 books that preceded and the book of Revelation follows connecting the dots set in the stage Introducing prophecy letter times The coming of Christ it is an exciting book. We’re gonna have a lot of fun. You will be teaching the book of Romans Wow, if there’s a book that every Christian ought to thoroughly digest, it’s the book of Romans, 16 chapters.
This is the book that when Martin Luther read, he was a doctor of divinity, a priest in the Roman Catholic Church. He only gets to verse 16 and 17 and he gets saved. What a great book. And obviously the Reformation took off like a rocket as a result of the teaching in the Book of Romans and you’re going to enjoy that wonderful series. Also the book of Hebrews is a great, great book giving us insight in the Old Testament sacrificial system, the priesthood and how Jesus is better.
How Jesus is better. And he of course is a priest forever and the sacrifice that he offered of his own body purchased eternal life for everyone whereas the Old Testament law could never save anybody. Great study has a lot of passages that are difficult for people. If you’ve struggled with Hebrews, you’re going to find out you’ll have fun as we study it here on Tuesday nights for 10 weeks. If you can’t come, if you’re too far away, we will be recording them.
They will be available on CD. As many series that I’ve taught in the past are available right now. We have the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel. The Spirit World, the Holy Spirit, the Rapture, the Book of Galatians, contemporary terms and practices, end-time prophecies, the Book of Acts, and many, many more, about 40 different series that are available I think you’ll find very helpful for you and your Christian growth. Also Zola Levitt, National Television Program, Jewish Believer does an incredible job and I’m sure that we’re going to really become updated as to what’s going on out there in this real world in Israel and around the world in relationship to Israel, which is the country to watch and Jerusalem is the city to watch in reference to the return of Christ.
Zola enjoyed being with us last year. He’s looking forward to being back. We will be recording those and so they will become available on CD. We have just produced a video, 63 minutes, that is called, How Permanent is Your Salvation. It’s the equivalent of the CDE that we have seen greatly used of God and leading people to Christ. And already we’re hearing great raves about this CD. We’ve been praying about doing this for quite a while. It’s 63 minutes in length.
It goes through the plan and salvation. a lady called in yesterday said if somebody watches this and they don’t get saved they probably will never get saved what a compliment saying how clear this presentation is you’ll enjoy it and that is available also if you call our operators after the program they’ll be able to tell you about the different products that we have available here through bible and we’re going to get into the bible and then we’ll take our colors and answer some off the air questions and hopefully you have your bible handy.
And when we turn now in our Bibles, we’re going to turn over to 1 Timothy and we’re going to take a look at chapter 4 where it says in verse 1 of 1 Timothy 4, now the Spirit, that’s the Holy Spirit, speaketh expressly that in the latter times, I believe we are in the latter times right now, the latter times are defined back in the Old Testament in the book of Hosea, as when the Jewish people would return back to the state of Israel and become a nation again after being dispersed for 2000 years.
Well, in 1948 Israel became a nation again for the first time in 2000 years and we are in the latter days. The Bible defines the latter days for the church as being distinct from the latter days for Israel, although they touch each other. As this age ends, which began at Pentecost, ends at the rapture, called the Age of Grace or the Dispensation of Grace or the church age, whatever you want to call it, it will conclude at the rapture and as we get close to the end of this age and close to the rapture, Then we’re living in what is called the latter days for the church.
But as soon as the rapture happens, then we’re going to be right into the thick of things as it is called the latter days for Israel. Because the seven years of tribulation that will follow the rapture are really the last seven years of the Old Testament age that still have to tick off the clock. In a sense, God’s clock stopped ticking 2,000 years ago at the cross. The Jewish people have been set aside and put on hold. But once the rapture happens, after the bride of Christ has been completed and were caught up to meet the Lord in the air, then God will go back to finish his program with Israel, which is about a thousand-year earthly kingdom where Christ will rule on this earth as King of kings and Lord of lords from Jerusalem, Jerusalem will become the world’s capital, and those seven years that precede the second coming that follow the rapture are the latter
days for Israel. Well first Timothy chapter 4 verse 1 says, the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith. Now the phrase the fave is meaningful. It occurs 43 times in the New Testament. And really speaks of the embodiment of truth in the New Testament that the believer needs to be familiar with and to embrace. And here it talks about in the latter times for the church people would depart from the Safe. giving heed of seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.
Actually it says in verse 2, speaking lies in eye procracy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron. We’re seeing that today. A major departure on every side from the Bible. The Bible is no longer important. It seems in most churches hard to find a Bible believing teaching church anymore because they are not popular. People want to be entertained. They want to have their ears tickled. In 2 Timothy, chapter 4, it tells us the time would come, which I believe is referring to the same time that we’re reading about in 1 Timothy 4.
But in 2 Timothy 4, it tells us the time would come when they would not endure sound doctrine. But after their own lust, they would heap to themselves, teachers having itching ears. They want to have their ears tickled today. The church is entertaining people and we’re getting more and more into drama and music and entertainment and everything that just kind of squeezes out the word of God. It’s like seed sewn upon thorny ground or among the stones where the stones and the thorns took out the word of God.
And the Bible says in the parable of the sower that the Christians become unfruitful. I believe we’re living in that time. Very few churches are really breaking new ground, winning lost people to Christ and challenging them to live for Christ and bring the gospel to the world about them. We are living in the last days the great commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature has become the forgotten commission. The purpose of the church apparently has been forgotten.
Jesus Christ gave us our purpose 2,000 years ago when he said, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. That begins where we are and extends outward in ever widening circles until we encompass the whole world with the wonderful message of the gospel. But the Bible here says that they would depart and actually wind up believing things that are not true, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. You know, major doctrines today are under assault and mainstream Christianity is guilty of buying into some of these, like there is no hell.
That’s the lie that Satan told back in the garden. There’s no punishment if you take of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and there are many churches that say there is no hell. Amazing and people buy into this. C.S. Lewis which has been made popular again here lately because of the film The Chronicles of Rarnia does not believe in hell. He’s just one of many that is leading us astray and leading us away from the faith.
The faith is the body of truth as encompassed in the New Testament by the way. If you read the New Testament you’re gonna read a lot about hell. Hell is real. Jesus said to the lost, depart from me, he cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels Matthew 25-41. And so who are the modern prophets? Well I guess C.S. Lewis is one of There’s no hell. He doesn’t believe in hell. He’s a universalist. He believes you can be a Satanist or anything else and still go to heaven because nobody goes to hell.
Interesting, isn’t it? And yet people flock after these things and we’re departing from the faith or the Bible or the Word of God as being our authority, being the standard. We need to be held accountable to the Bible, to the Word of God. And that’s not what’s happening. So the Bible here warns that lies when he told, if a preacher tells you there’s no hell, that is an absolute lie coming out of the pit of hell from Satan. Satan doesn’t want us to believe there is a hell.
And he doesn’t want us to understand that salvation is a gift purchased by Christ’s death and shed blood, and that only, only the death of Christ could have purchased our salvation. I love what the hymn writer wrote when he said, what can wash away my sin? And he said, nothing, nothing, nothing but the blood of Jesus Christ. Wow. We need to be telling people about Christ. Last night I had the privilege of doing a funeral for a dear lady, a saint, a believer who went home to be with the Lord in Heaven.
We had around a dozen people come to know Christ as their Savior last night as the gospel was presented. How this dear lady had placed her trust in Christ. The only way that we could ever be rejoined or reunited to another believer is to trust Christ. Otherwise, you’ll be separated from that believer in hell forever and ever and ever and ever. I’m Dr. Englundstrom. This is my blind. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. It is our prayer that every listener would come to know Christ.
That person who’s closest to going to hell would open their ears to listen. And here that there is good news that you can absolutely be assured of going to heaven from the moment you trust Christ the Savior. We’re about ready to take our live calls. If you want to call in, the number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576. By the way, if you go to the radio page on BibleLineMinistries.org and click on the archives, you can listen or even download a particular show.
And that’s in the MP3 format. A lot of people are enjoying getting them. We had one lady call yesterday that wanted to get six copies for her friends. But you, if you have internet access, can download them off of the internet. We’re going to go to the phone lines. We have Alan in Tampa, Florida waiting, and allen welcome to bible ops we have a doubt on what allen now apparently allen cannot hold it longer we now have steven in lakeland steven welcome to bible a fast-running i have a question what in your opinion does the rapture the church happened before the to witnesses absolutely absolutely no question about it uh…
the uh… to witnesses are are jewish profits and once the rapture happens Then we’re back on Jewish territory, and the major player is Israel and the city of Jerusalem, and God will send back two Old Testament prophets to crank up the witnessing process. Through them, I believe the 144,000 of Revelation 7 and chapter 14 of Revelation get saved, and they win millions of all nations and kinens to Christ. But it’s cranked up again. You know there are no believers left once the rapture happens, and so God in order to start the system of witnessing back up and get the gospel out, he brings back to Old Testament prophets.
Okay. Okay. Thank you very much. And that’ll be after the Rapture in fact. When you look at the book of Revelation, chapters 4 through 19 are all a commentary on the seven years of tribulation. Chapters 2 and 3 deal about this present age and the church age and after Chapter 4 of verse 1, the church is no longer mentioned. The rapture is implied in verse 1 of chapter 4, where John sees a door opened in heaven and hears a voice which is Christ that says, come up hither, and John is caught up, and that’s the picture of the rapture.
The church is no longer mentioned in the book of Revelation, then all of a sudden the seven years are unfolded before our very eyes as we read the book of Revelation. We’re going to the land of florida and we have david on the line david welcome to my line one sir good morning just want to say i really appreciate your comments about the uh… drama and stuff going on with it the church and how it’s all getting away and the apothepy trouble for a long time about the uh…
passion of the christ i never saw it but i read a lot of stuff one of the power the 14 stations of the cross and all this other stuff none of it is just on people i just really appreciate you saying well thank you david you know uh… we’re needing more than ever to be in our bible so that we’re not deceived and we need to evaluate uh… films and articles and books and sermons and everything we hear in the light of god’s word or work candidates for deception Well I’m glad you’re listening over there in Delan, Florida.
We’re excited about all of you guys over there coming online with us and hearing the program and hope you’re helping us by telling others about the program. Yeah, it’s great. I really appreciate you programming. And for what I understand, we’re being replayed in the evening from 9 to 10 o’clock in that whole area. So if you didn’t know that now you are aware of that too. Yeah, unfortunately I can’t get you at night. I live in Dillion Springs, which is about seven miles north of Dolan.
Okay, I know they cut the power at night, so it’s pretty much exclusively the land in the evening. But David, thanks for calling. Thank you, sir. All right, that was David in the land Florida and were played in the morning live and in the evening from 9 to 10, they repeat the broadcast. We have Alan. He came back. All right, Alan. and welcome Alan you’re on the line hello how are you doing all right great yeah this is Alan I got the 20 CDs from you on how from is your salary you’re wonderful I talked to you for a while and I hope we’re gonna see great things come as a result of that yeah I gave them out I don’t know I just hope pray that there you know that people will listen to it but I had a question regarding I think one of the toughest subjects in the in the
Bible’s predestination Uh-huh, I’d like you to describe You know predestination According to the knowledge you have with the word of God. Okay Ellen will do that and also TJ James Kennedy. I know he’s a press peterian minister and most best yearns I’m there believe in predestination so you just kind of comment on that too. Alrighty thank you Alan. Are you? Very much. Okay that was Alan and as a heart for souls and came by and got 20 of our CD’s called How Permanent is your salvation to give us Christmas gifts to hopefully lead some of his friends to Christ that he is praying for and is concerned that they need to come to know Christ as their Savior.
Well, predestination sounds scary to a lot of people, but there are things that are predetermined. God has not predetermined your choice, but he has predetermined that every believer will go to heaven, that every believer will have a home in heaven, that every believer will have a resurrection body like Christ’s body, that every believer will have God as his father for all eternity, one we can turn to and go to with our needs and so on and so on. So it’s also been predetermined that all unbelievers will go to hell, and there they’ll be separated from God forever and ever.
They’ll receive a resurrection body that will withstand hell and they will apparently experience torment and pain forever and ever and ever. This is mind-boggling to think about how horrible that would be, but I didn’t write the Bible and I believe hell is real because the Bible declares it. Certainly we wouldn’t want anyone to experience it, but if you read the Bible it’s quite clear that those who die without Christ will go to hell. So predestination is basically that God has determined before the foundations of the earth to save all that would believe on Christ as Savior.
He’s determined that all that would not trust Christ as Savior would be forever lost and cast into the eternal lake of fire, but God has not predetermined your choice. I’m going to give you a great verse and this is well worth looking at and marking in your Bible. It’s 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2 verse 13 most people read part of the verse and then don’t understand what’s going on with predestination But it says but we are bound to give thanks always to God for you.
This is 2nd Thessalonians 2 13 Brethren he’s talking here to the believers at the salonika Be kept beloved of the Lord Because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation Then it says, through, here’s the means by which you are saved, through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. Where unto verse 14 he called you or invited you by the gospel. So in real time God gives an invitation to people to come to him and trust Christ as Savior and receive the wonderful gift of eternal life.
But before the foundation of the earth, He determined that all that would respond to that invitation and believe the gospel would be saved. And all those that would reject that gospel and not believe the truth would be damned. And so there it is. It’s that simple. D.L. Moody said it this way. He said, the Whosoever wills are the elect of the chosen, and the Whosoever won’ts are the non-elect and are the non-chosen. So God doesn’t make the choice for you.
Your choice is real to you. Your choice for God’s the love of the world That’s the whole human race that he gave his only begotten son as Jesus Christ that who so ever believe within him It’s your choice if you trust in him you’ll not perish because Christ perished in your place, but you would have everlasting life Wow and isn’t that great? It’s the best news you’re ever gonna hear We’ll be offering three classes, Jude, an incredible study in the latter times, a book that connects all the dots for you between the sixty-four books that precede it and the book of Revelation that it introduces.
It is quite a book you will be on the edge of your seat. Romans will follow it in incredible sixteen chapters that just define for us the gospel what it is and what it is not and how it impacts our lives and how that it ought to be life transforming as we allow our minds to be transformed and renewed by the Word of God. Exciting book, I’m looking forward to it, 16 chapters. We have also the book of Hebrews, one that really gives us a lot of insight in the Old Testament and the switch from the Old Testament economy and the law given about Sinai to grace and salvation that is by grace is loudly proclaimed in the wonderful book of Hebrews.
Thirteen chapters will have fun and all these. I hope you’ll come. We’re going to take a break. We’ll be right back after this break. So don’t change that radio dial. Stay tuned right where you are. We’ll be right back. No way, Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Angelina Stemm, it’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in and being a part of our program and we hope that you’re telling your friends about the program and helping us expand it.
Again, thank you for being a listener, but we hope that you’ll put us on your prayer list and pray for us. We certainly need God’s help and we need your prayers on our behalf to pray for us each and every day. Put us on a list someplace where Bibleline is prayed for, pray for me, pray for our staff and pray that we will have a great year this coming year and I hope you’ll be a very real part of Bibleline in this coming year.
And by the way, we are listeners supported. Not only do we need your prayers, but if you could help us financially, that would be great. Again, we don’t pay any salaries out, but we do have a lot of expenses because it costs a lot of money to be on the radio. And there’s a lot of other expenses that are related to it, including getting up on the satellite and the satellite charges and the phone bills. and every person that calls in on our 800 number, we pay the long distance bill on that.
And so when you’re waiting even online, on the phone to get up on the air, that’s a long distance bill that ByBlind pays. So your gift to ByBlind would be very helpful and maybe you might consider to give to ByBlind in this coming year. and certainly your gifts would be greatly appreciated. Again, I’m Dr. Englund, Mr. My fault line, and we have our program on the internet as well as on regular broadcast. We hope that you will take advantage of the internet site by the line ministries as a way to get the programs, TV and radio.
Also the many other things that we have available there as well. Take a look at our online bookstore. We have a lot of resources, a lot of things that will help you that you can take a look at pictures of it and you can look at the descriptions of the products and you can order right there on the internet. I hope you will do that. And of course, just pray for us in this coming year that we might see great things happen as we’ve had so many blessings over this past year that we trust that God will continue to allow those blessings to occur in this coming year.
I’m Dr. Englund Sturm and we’re about ready to go back and join the station’s in the realization break and do the second half of Bibleline. We hope that you’ll be listening to the second half and again call somebody up and ask them to join you as we do the second half. Let’s keep you ready to do dial tune right where it is. We’re going to take a short intermission here as we come back to do the second half. Stay tuned right where you are.
Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3777. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re through the break and here we are in the second half of Bible and Happy New Year to you. We’re just so excited about God giving us another year and we have our wonderful Bible and audience that really has been a blessing to us because you’ve prayed for us, you’ve kept in touch with us, You’ve given us words of encouragement.
You’ve taken us through the earth, and we’ve seen great mighty things happen that God has done really because of a partnership with you, because we couldn’t do it without you. We really couldn’t. And if you are enjoying Bibleline, you know, God is raising up people just like you who enjoy the program who say, I’d like to see this continue. I’d like to see Bibleline expand and grow and reach many people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. And I would like to be a part of that.
And you can vote to do exactly that, to keep this program going by praying for and giving your gift to Bible. And you can send it to Bible. And at 4811 George Road in Tampa, Florida, the zip code is 333634. And if you couldn’t copy that down, I can understand maybe you’re driving down the highway. And I’ve been frustrated like that before. and you just said, I wish they would recite that address again, but get our phone number and call and our operators will recite it to you or take your address and send you an envelope with already printed on it.
But you can also give a gift by credit card over the phone if you’d like to do that and many choose that way of doing it. But definitely somehow get a pencil and paper before the program’s over. The address will be recited again and And you can also call the phone number and get the address and also get a resource sheet of some of the many things that we have in our Bible and Resource Center, including now DVDs. We have a 63 minute DVD we just finished.
That is a presentation called How Permanent is Your Solation. It’s the equivalent of the CD that we have available for a gift of $5. The DVD is for 63 minutes and it really covers how you can really be sure of going to heaven. It’s a great soul winning DVD. Maybe you have friends over from time to time, maybe you can place it in your DVD player and play that presentation. We have lots of things to offer though including a 6.5 minute DVD for a gift of $7 which focuses on just the invitation.
person might receive Christ as Savior by trusting in his death and shed blood, his burial, and his resurrection as the means of their salvation. In any case, I want to thank in advance for your prayers and for your gifts, and we wish you a happy new year, and let’s see what God has in store as we partner together to keep this message going out here from Bible. And we hope that you’re going to be there with us throughout this year and and hear of and enjoy and know that you’re a partner in the blessings that are happening and in the rewards that will come your way one day when we stand before the Lord.
Thanks again for your gifts, your prayers and thanks for listening and helping us grow our audience by telling your friends about the program. By the way our own land, our rather our resource center here Bible and resource centers open every day till about three a clock Monday through Friday and you can come by if you’re in driving distance and stop in. We’d love to have you do that and you can call our CD rather our 800 number and you can order the CDs or the DVDs which will be helpful.
We have this evangelism book that is incredible handbook of personal evangelism and that is a one-of-a-kind book you can’t get it anywhere else. It will tell you how to lead someone to Christ, tell you what to do, and how to open your mouth, and what to say when your mouth is open. You can also get our… Sunday messages from the pulpit here at Calvary Community for a gift of $25 a month. You’ll get the CDs sent to your home or to your loved one.
And a lot of people enjoy and feel like they’re sitting in the worship services here every week by getting the Sunday sermons. And we have a whole series that we did on the Christmas tree, the origin of that, the birth of Christ, the genealogy of Christ, the incarnation of Christ, and many topics that we covered in the month of December are available if you’d like to call in and get them. We’re going to go now to Wilburn, who has been waiting patiently in Richmond, Virginia, to get on the air with us here at Bibleline.
And Wilburn, you’re on the air. Yes. The Bible tells that Christians should not marry the Unsaved. But my question is, what are the parameters for friendships and for Christians with the Unsaved? Well, you know, our intimate relationships ought to be without a believer’s. Obviously, we can’t stop dealing with people in the world. It says if we were to practice that kind of separation, we’d have to leave the planet because there are unbelievers around us. And of course, we are to be a witness to them, and our testimony will impact those that are lost.
The ones that we really spend our time with, the quality time with ought to be believers. And I remember when I first got saved and I decided to witness on the University of Florida campus where I was a student, I really had no Christian fellowship. I didn’t know any Christian on the campus. There were, I’m sure, but I didn’t know any. But when I began to witness, I led people to Christ. And, you know, I began to fellowship with those that I led to Christ.
The Knight Group grew, and what a wonderful time we had. So many wonderful memories I have are with young college students that I led to Christ that we just had a great time enjoying each other and growing in God’s Word and proclaiming the Gospel on the University of Florida campus. That was a great time. You need to look for believers in your everyday walk that you are close to. And hopefully ones that will lift you up and pick you up.
Be careful who your friends are. The Bible says evil companions corrupt good manners. And if you read Psalm 1, it’s a great psalm about don’t walk in the counsel of the ungodly. And don’t stand in the way of sinners. Don’t sit down in the seat of the scornful and those that mock and make fun of God’s word, but your delight should be in the law of the Lord, which is the word of God. And as you take delight in God’s word and with others who do, it’ll build you up and keep you strong.
And you’ll be like a tree planted by the rivers of water where your leaves will be green and your fruit will be manifold. And it’s exciting. Thank you, Wilbur, for calling in. we now have Roy in Tampa, Florida, and Roy, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Year. Yes, hi. Good morning. What question is about marriage and God? I was married before and me being a man of faith. I’m going to. I’m going to church with my family and everything.
I almost came up and dealing with my marriage, and I was still going to church, but I didn’t understand how do I put both of them together because it was like I was taking away from one of them and giving more to me. I got a divorce. I mean, it seemed like everything just fell out underneath me to bottoms right now i’ve been divorced like a few months now and it’s just things like my world is in a hurricane right now well though the word of god is the place to find peace and you need to get back into the bible on a regular basis you know we need to read the bible every day and flippians foreign particular says that we are to let our request be known unto god and with uh…
prayer and and thanksgiving and supplications letter request be known And God says that the peace of God, the past with all understanding, shall keep or guard your heart and your mind. And so the source of peace is to get in close touch with God, and he speaks to us through the Bible. So if you keep your Bible zipped up or on the counter or in the shelf, you’re not letting God speak to you. So I would recommend getting into the Bible.
I just, I can tell the effect, if I don’t get into my Bible every day, it just, I feel like you do. I mean, you just need to have God’s Word and He talks to us. We gain love and security through conversation with people here on this planet. Also, our love and security from God comes by conversation as He talks to us through the Word of God and we talk to Him in prayer. I just encourage you to get into the Bible on a regular basis.
If you’re in the area here, you ought to come to these classes coming up on the 17th because I’ll guarantee you that you’re going to be able to come to these classes. Yes, sir. Can I have those exact dates in the address belief? Yeah, it’s January 17th for 10 weeks. That’s Tuesday nights beginning the 17th of January and that’s at 4811 George Road in Tampa just a block west of Tampa’s International Airport.
We’re midway between Memorial and Hillsboro avenues and we’re a block west of the airport on George Road. Hopefully we’ll see you Roy. Okay thanks for watching. All right that was Roy in Tampa Florida and we have Matthew in Tampa. Matthew welcome to my Blender on the air thank you good morning how are you good that i was wondering if you could uh… elaborate on something for me uh… having a discussion with my father-in-law over the holidays uh… regarding at the beginning of genesis and the gap theory between genesis one one-one i believe it’s one one one two yes it is that would account for a lot of uh…
a lot of unanswered questions perhaps in the bible and with uh… fossils and and and things like that i was wondering if you could tell me what if you do subscribe to the gap theory or not and maybe elaborate on why you do or some evidence for door against it in the sure the bible and i will look not the air but i’d be real okay which up to say all right we’ll do that i i believe in the gap there and i believe there are a number of gaps in the bible we can read the scripture and know that there are gaps uh…
certainly uh… uh… one of the big gaps is between the first coming in the second coming god did not in the old testament reveal that there would be a two thousand year gap it was implied but uh… god has turned us gentiles and he’s gathering a body for himself that’s the bride of christ and this age when it ends got to go back and uh… pick up where he left off and there’s a gap of two thousand years and in the old testament passage as you can see passage is a deal with the first coming passage is a deal with the second coming you don’t see the gap I have a book here that we have in our resource center.
It’s a forgive to $44 called Dispensational Truth. Clarence Larkin was an architect. He got saved. He uses architectural skills to draw out these charts about 150, 60 charts in this book and chapters that explain them. And he has an interesting chart where he draws way back in the Old Testament. He puts a profit standing there and shows what he sees with his eyes. He looks down through history and it’s interesting that it shows the first coming of Christ. It shows the second coming of Christ and then it doesn’t show what happens between the first and second coming, which is obviously the church age.
But it’s interesting is that they hit high points, but there are gaps. Well, anyway, back in Genesis 1 1 we believe God created the heavens and the earth and according to Isaiah 45 18 he created it perfect and inhabited and It says he did not create it vain and That word vain in Isaiah 45 18 is the same Hebrew word translated void in Genesis 1 2 So we learned there in Isaiah 45 18 that God did not create the earth vain or void that that Apparently was the result of a judgment upon the earth And apparently that judgment was when Satan, whose name was Lucifer, ruled on this earth when it was originally created.
There were plants, animals, dinosaurs, and of course, angelic life, no human beings. And the Bible describes the earth as a… A wonderful place. Satan or Lucifer was really over it until pride rose up in his heart and he decided he was going to overthrow heaven. And so Satan never lived in heaven. He lived on the earth and so did all of God’s angels. And they led Satan led a rebellion or Lucifer led a rebellion to heaven. In Isaiah 14 you have the high five eye wills of Satan.
In Isaiah 14 13 Satan says I will ascend into heaven Why did he say that if he was already living there? He wasn’t he says I was send Above the stars of God so beyond the visible planetary universe Satan was going to go thirdly He said he was going to sit in the north there upon the mound of the congregation in the sides of the north We believe heaven is in the north in The next verse was 14 he talks about how he would ascend above the clouds So apparently Satan was on the Earth’s surface beneath the clouds, planning his rebellion.
He took a third of the angels with him, God judged them and the Earth and the Earth became without form and void. You can read an amazing flashback in Jeremiah chapter 4 where not only do prophets get a chance to sometimes go into the future as John did, Daniel did, and so on. Jeremiah not only went into the future but also was transported back into the past and he says, I beheld and lo the earth was without form and void.
And he talks about that judgment that occurred in Genesis 1-2. The very words are used about how the earth was without form and void, the same that we find it in Genesis 1-2. So definitely this was an event that took place in history and the The earth probably was in darkness and flooded for millions of years until rather recently when it says the Spirit of God, Genesis 1 and 2, moved upon the face of the waters. When you look up that word, moved in the Hebrew it means to brood upon or to incubate.
It’s the same word used of a hen sitting on a nest, keeping the eggs warm and hatching them out. So apparently God warmed up the earth, that ended the ice ages, and prepared the earth for life again, and in seven days, He puts man on the planet. Nowhere does it say that He created plants, because it tells us the seeds of plants were already here from the original creation. So if you read what happened on the third day, plants sprang forth from seed that was already here.
It was not until the fifth day that God recreates animals breathe air. So apparently all life that breathe air died. But I think much of the life in the sea still survived. That’s why we say sharks have been around for millions of years. I believe that. And there’s other life in the sea that have survived in the oceans, whereas life that breathe air did not survive. And then on the sixth day, God puts man on the planet. And very fascinating, and I’ve got some tapes and CDs on this.
If you want to call in and order them, we have one that kind of summarizes in much greater detail that I’m doing right now, for a gift of $5, all about the creation and taking you to these many passages that describe an original Earth that because of Satan’s sin was destroyed and life was killed. And then the emergence of new life about six thousand years ago. I only believe Van has been on the earth for six thousand years. But the earth, I believe, is very old, perhaps billions of years old.
I’m Dr. Englandstrom. This is Bibleline. The phone number here is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We have off the air, Harry in plantation Florida calls in he says you have a church pastor Hank Lindstrom the caller states if You had a Jewish temple next door and Jesus was read to return Would he come to your church or the Jewish temple in answer is he’s going to come back to the Jewish temple built on the platform? There the temple mount platform in Israel and all you have to do is read Malachi 3 1 When Jesus returns, he will come suddenly to his temple.
Now the temple is not standing right now, so obviously he’s not going to come physically back to the earth to rule and reign until that temple is built. And we believe that right after the rapture, a third temple will be rebuilt, blood sacrifices will be offered again. The Antichrist will desecrate that temple, and then Christ will return and cleanse it and set up his rule at the temple in Jerusalem. So Jerusalem is going to become the world’s capital. Harry, I hope that helps.
Reid Malachi 3-1 as a start or verse on that. We have Ophir, Henry, and St. Petersburg calls in. He says the lost books of the Bible. How does this compare with the Bible? He said he purchased this at a Christian bookstore. It’s amazing. That’s kind of crazy, isn’t it? There are no lost books in the Bible, but there are books or writings from biblical times that are still around. But they were never accepted as being the inspired Word of God.
None of them were written by a prophet or an apostle. None of them meet the standards for the books that are in the Bible. Every book in the Bible was written by an authentic There are no lost books in the Bible, but there are books or writings from biblical times that are still around. But they were never accepted as being the inspired Word of God. None of them were written by a prophet or an apostle. None of them meet the standards for the books that are in the Bible.
Every book in the Bible was written by an authentic book. books person for God, a prophet or an apostle. And every book in the Bible that is accepted was accepted at the moment it was written as being God’s Word. When Moses as God’s prophet wrote the first five books of the Bible, they were all immediately accepted as being the word of God. And so on and so on as each prophet came along. And so that’s the standard and the The lost books of the Bible really are kind of crazy.
If you read them, one of them is of course the story of Adam and Eve. It says that when the sun came up the first day, they got so bright and they ran and fell off a cliff and died and got ahead to resurrect them. It’s more like a fairy tale, kind of nonsense. Very, very crazy. It just doesn’t even compare. The difference between these writings and the Bible is the difference in literature between Shakespeare and Bugs Bunny. So there you got it.
The Law School of the Bible read it for enjoyment for a big laugh, but they don’t belong in the Bible. And somebody cleverly calls them the Law School of the Bible to get you to buy them. And they make money on selling them. But I’ve read them. And there’s nothing there of any substance. You can have a good laugh and enjoy. But the 66 books that we have in our Bible that have been accepted from the get go are indeed the inspired word of God and every church council down through time has reaffirmed that these books are indeed the word of God and that has been believed for the past two thousand years.
Thank you Henry and St. Petersburg. We now have Rick in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Rick, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Hey, it’s Dr. Hank. I’d like to wish you a happy new year and a blessed new year for you. Mark Waters, you had a book by Mark Waters. He was pretty good to understand him. Who’s the book by? Mark Waters. I’m not sure who that is. I was thinking on your catalog, you had a book, how is Spirit or something?
Is it about Mark Waters or something? I’m not sure if we’re talking on the same page here. We have books by Charles Ryery. Yeah, let me ask you about Dr. Charles Ryery. He pretty good explains pretty good. Absolutely. He’s one of the best. One of the best. i would get anything to trol’s rarry rights and uh… he’s going to be right on he’s good for the absolutely okay uh… doctor think i want to ask you that because i was calling as you about uh…
you know about like about all of our getting thing or anything or from you whatever is trustworthy to go on to play with the key james original key jane writers that they have good good enough it’s good enough for me yet okay i’ve got back to you and we uh… you ever heard of him oh yeah i don’t really particularly like his commentary skips everything that’s difficult and and it’s kind of shallow I recommend the Jameson possible Brown and the Jay Vernon McGee is the best two commentaries that really get to the heart of the meat of things okay well I got the Damon’s Boston Brown you told me to get I got that one got that one you’ll get the other one too and then you’ll be all set okay dr.
Thank you all right that was Rick and Winston Center we have Nyla and Lakeland Florida let’s see here if we can get nyla up on the air here and nyla welcome to bible on your own ear yes doctor lintland you were just talking about the gap theory yes have a minute just to answer a quick question about death before adam sin yeah and and most people try to pick up and and take it a romance five twelve but if you read the verse carefully the first time death came upon men was after man was put on the planet but there was death before adam and eve I didn’t know how to explain it to my kind of friend.
A lot of people read that verse and they say death, there was no death before Adam and Eve. And that is just not what the verse says at all. If you read it very carefully, the Bible is very clear to say there was death for the first time upon man after Adam and Eve came. I’m on man. That’s right. That’s right. I had called in a question for tomorrow for off the air, but I thought the gap there, but you explained it pretty well.
I want to get your creation see these while the calling in Next for that excellent now. Thank you. Thank you and your son determines for December. So I’m good beautiful You’re gonna be loaded up. That was Nila. We have Alvin and Tampa, Florida. Alvin. Welcome to Bibleline. I Hello. You’re on the air. Oh, hi Dr. Lindstrom. I have a couple three points one quickly. Would you not answer the list of acceptable commentaries, John Calvin’s commentaries? Well, I think they’re pretty good except that his slant on, you know, predestination I don’t buy into.
But otherwise, yeah. But these others I prefer because they, we don’t get into that. We just, you know, it teaches that man has a free will to trust Christ, even though God has a free will to trust Christ. Christ, even though God is predetermined of what happens to the believer and predestined what happens to the unbeliever, He hasn’t made our choice for us and I’m not really excited about where Calvin stands on it. But otherwise, I have all of his commentaries.
I’ve got thousands and thousands and thousands of books. I have so many books. I’ve got one room that’s four walls of floor to ceiling all books and I’ve got other rooms full of books. Just tons of them. and i love uh… reading all of them but uh… the bible is my primary book and that’s where we need to stay and the comteries uh… should only be retreated to when we have difficulty in some of the commentary skip the difficult passages that’s why the ones i recommend are good because they don’t skip the difficult passages we’re out of time and we hate to run off here but uh…
that’s just the way the clock demands and so i hope you listen to my blind tomorrow as well be here every day this week monday through friday and we hope that you’ll tell your friends about the program.
