Well, good morning and welcome to Bibleline great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast. We appreciate you and all of our listeners and look forward to being with you each and every day as we come to you from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and we certainly look forward to being with you Monday through Friday and we hope that you’ll join us as often as you can.
We have about 40 different series that I’ve taught that are available on CD. One series, Exciting is the Holy Spirit, 12 Hours of Teaching. One is Revelation, 12 Hours of Teaching. Another is the Spirit World, 12 Hours of Teaching. And of course, on many books of the Bible, we have 10 hours or 12 hours of teaching, including some of our best here as of later is the book of Jude, incredible book that bridges the 65 books or 64 books prior to it and then links it to the 66th book, the book of Revelation.
It’s a wonderful book just jammed with information and we did a wonderful series on that. We have the book of Romans. Romans what an incredible book that is. This is the book that really sparked the The Reformation, Martin Luther the Reformer, was a Roman Catholic priest. He was asked to teach the book of Romans at the University of Wittenberg in Germany. After you get assigned a course to teach, you have to study it. He’s studying the book of Romans.
Guess what? He gets to verse 16 and he gets saved. That’s right. Romans 1 16 says, I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. for it the gospel is the power of God and the salvation to everyone that believeth. Well, Martin Luther saw that verse and he got saved. He simply trusted Christ, believing the gospel message to death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ as the only means of his salvation. And that sparked, of course, the revelation shortly thereafter.
He nailed his theses to the church door there at Wittenberg, Germany, and the Reformation was underway. This is an incredible book. We’ve got that on CD, 10 hours of teaching, and I know you’re going to enjoy every minute of it. But we deal with all the difficult passages, including those with about predestination in Romans 9, 10 and 11, and you’ll want to get that series. We have also the book of Hebrews on CD. Boy, if there’s a book that is difficult, it’s Hebrews.
Look in your Christian bookstore for a commentary on Hebrews, or even if you have a commentary, look at the length of what they say about Hebrews. They pretty much skip it. Most Bible expositors just walk right on by Hebrews. But we deal with all the difficult passages and go verse by verse and you’ll love the series on Hebrews. Plus, we’ve got numerous others. We just did one called 10 vital doctrines of the Bible. What a solid foundation that will give you.
We’ve got a wonderful series on the Christian life called Meeting the Challenge. That’s on CD and DVD. You can call our operators after the program is over and they can help you if you want to order any of these things. Also, of course, you can go online. Our website is Bibleline Ministries, and there you’ll find that you’ll be able to see these things and order them on the internet on our website, BibleLineMinistries.org or.com. And our radio show and our TV shows are there on the internet for you to take a look at.
I hope you will do that. If you’re in the local area, we have an Awana youth program every Wednesday night from 6 to 8 and you’re welcome to bring your children free of charge. And the kids will have a super time. I’m guaranteeing you will learn a lot of Bible and we’ll probably get saved if they’re not because we make sure everybody hears the gospel and is led to Christ when they get on our property, which is great. If you have your Bible handy, get it out.
We’ll be talking about the scriptures for a while, and then we’ll take our callers and our offer questions. And we certainly hope that you will be a participant in that at least listening and following along in your Bible. But if you have a question, you’re welcome to call in and ask that question. Well, we’re going to talk a little bit about your testimony today. What is your testimony? I believe this term is so misused that most folks don’t even know what is their testimony.
In churches people often are asked to give a testimony. Usually someone will volunteer and say their testimony is that God has healed them of some illness or has helped them through some difficult crises or that God has provided for some particular need or that God has led them into some particular ministry and etc. Well, these are all really praise reports of answered prayer or of God’s wonderful provision. And of course, we ought to give praise, but technically, these are not a testimony.
That’s right. Also, when people think of testimony, they often point to your life and they talk about what you are doing or not doing. They say how you are living your life is your testimony. Well, guess what? The Bible says that the way we live our lives should adorn the gospel, but technically our Christian life is not our testimony. Well, is that different than what you’ve been taught all your life? I’m sure. Our Christian life is important and it should adorn the testimony that has been confirmed in us.
It says in the book of Titus, exhort servants or encourage servants to be obedient to their own masters and to please them in all things, not answering again, not prolonging, but showing all good fidelity that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things. So certainly we ought to adorn the doctrine of God and our Savior in all things, but that is really technically not our testimony. What then is your testimony? Well in 1 Corinthians 1, 6 we learn that the Corinthian believers have the testimony of Christ confirmed in them.
Let me read the verse. Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you 1 Corinthians 1, 6. By the way every believer has the testimony of Christ confirmed in him or Her. Our testimony is really the testimony of Christ that we have embraced when we trusted Christ as our Savior. Notice that Jesus warned Paul that he should make haste and get the quickly out of Jerusalem, for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me, Acts 22 18. In other words, thy testimony, Paul’s testimony concerning me, Jesus is the one who speaking here is of course the testimony concerning Christ.
Please note that Jesus told Paul that his testimony, Paul’s testimony, was concerning Jesus Christ. It says in the verse, thy testimony concerning me. And what Christ had accomplished at Calvary? Jesus told Paul that the Jews in Jerusalem would not receive his testimony or Paul’s testimony. But later Paul tells us in his letter to the people at Thessalonica that the Gentiles at Thessalonica believed his testimony. 2 Thessalonians 1 and 10 says, When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all of them that believe because our testimony among you was believed in that day.
In other words, at the return of Jesus Christ, many believers will admire Jesus Christ because they were saved by hearing the testimony of the Apostle Paul, which was the testimony concerning Christ that Paul embraced and was confirmed in him and in you and me as believers that we should share. Your testimony is therefore the message of the death, the barrel, the resurrection of Jesus Christ that you embraced at the moment of your salvation when you trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior.
Or in other words, the gospel is your testimony. Paul says, and listen to this one, Romans 1 16 that we began with, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it the gospel is the power of God and the salvation to everyone that believe it. To the Jew 1st and also to the Greek Romans 1 and 16. The gospel of Christ was the testimony of Paul the Apostle. Paul’s testimony was the message that he preached, which was the testimony of Christ.
Let me quote the verse again, for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe it. That was the message that Paul preached. That was Paul’s testimony. That was the testimony that you and I have also. When we trust Christ, that testimony is confirmed in us, according to 1 Corinthians 1 and 6. Paul’s testimony was the message that he preached, which was the testimony of Jesus Christ.
These testimonies confirmed in every believer, again let me quote, 1 Corinthians 1, 6, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, we obviously are to take that testimony and proclaim it. And so Christ testimony or the testimony that God gave concerning Christ is the testimony that’s confirmed in us. That’s the testimony that we’re to share and give. And so when Paul witnessed or gave his testimony, he gave the gospel. Look at Acts 26, 22 and 23. When giving his testimony, Paul says, this is what he would do.
Let me quote, having therefore obtained help of God, I continue under this day, witnessing both the small and great, saying none other things than those that which the prophets and Moses did say should come, that Christ should suffer, and that He should be the first that should rise from the dead and should show light unto the Gentiles and to the people. So obviously again Paul gave testimony concerning Christ and that was Paul’s testimony. So our testimony is not a praise-a-mony.
We have praise-a-mony’s in many churches. How How many would I give testimony? People give a praise of money. Well, I praise the Lord that I’m well. I was sick. Or I praise the Lord that I got a job. I was without work. Or I praise the Lord I was able to make my mortgage payment this month. I didn’t have the money at the time. And on and on and on. Or I praise the Lord that when I fell I didn’t break any bones in my body.
And I hear these all the time. And those are praise reports. That’s not your testimony. That’s not your testimony. The testimony of the believer is the testimony of Christ that God gave concerning Christ that we believed and braced and were saved by that was confirmed in you at the moment you believed according to 1 Corinthians 1 and 6, which is the testimony that we proclaim. And so when we give testimony, we give the gospel. We give the message of Christ.
message that we proclaim is the testimony as to how we were saved and how we are to present that to others. John the Apostle tells us that his testimony is the testimony of Jesus that he received. In Revelation 19 and 10 he says, I am thy fellow servant and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus. Think about that. Here’s John the Apostle the great apostle that wrote five of the New Testament books the gospel of John the three epistles of John and The book of Revelation and John the Apostle tells us that his testimony is the testimony of Jesus that he received Same thing I’ve been saying all along Let me quote.
I am by fellow servant John says and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus Who has the testimony of Jesus? Everyone that has put their trust in Christ? Has that testimony of Jesus? According to 1 Corinthians 1, 6, that testimony is confirmed in them at the moment of belief and they’re saved eternally. And that testimony is the testimony that we’re to share. So if you were to ask me to give testimony, I would say I was lost and headed for hell, but Jesus Christ loved me and came down from heaven and took on a human body and went to the cross of Calvary.
And there he died and shed his blood. blood and paid my sin didn’t fall. He was buried. He rose again from the dead. He’s alive forever more. I trusted him to save me and he saved me. That’s my testimony, not anything else. So it’s not when you look at somebody’s life and say, boy, they have a great testimony. That is really not theologically sound. When we talk to somebody and they tell us about Jesus and his death, Maryland Resurrection, then we say, wow, what a testimony.
That’s the testimony that every believer has in them if they’re a believer. And that’s the testimony that they’re to share with others. I’m Dr. Englundstrom, and this is Bibleline. We’re coming to you about a Tampa from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. And I hope that you would focus in on really what your testimony is, and it’s the testimony of Christ that you should be sharing with others. If you’ve never accepted that testimony, then you need to.
And when you do, you become born again, you become saved, you become a child of God, then you’re saved forever. And again, we’re now going to turn to our callers. We look forward to talking to you if you have a question. We have our first caller in that’s Edgar, and he’s in Petersburg, Virginia, and Edgar, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The You’re on the air. Hey, are you doing this morning? I got a statement and a question. Do you know a Dan corner of evangelical outreach?
Yeah, but I don’t even want to mention his name. He’s he’s apparently so messed up and so confused that it’s not worth discussing okay well i know he’s given me the scald crossbones for the being the worst uh… and and and most of the false bible teacher on the earth so that’s it you know so and and and and and he picked people in the in The same category with me is David Jeremiah Charles and David Hunt and John Ankerberg, so I’m in good company.
Okay. He slams all of us as being false prophets. Okay. Okay. I’ve heard of him Yes, I have okay. All right arm This today Can you touch on the word elf, but I know it is not saying that there are three gods So I need you to illuminate on that, please Sure, we’ll do that for you Edgar. The word used about 3000 times in the Old Testament that’s translated God is Elohim, E-L-O-H-I-M. And it really is a word that denotes the office of God.
And so when it talks about Yahweh or Jehovah being God, the office of God is the use their Elohim. It’s plural, the I Am on the end of it, lets us know that it’s plural. And plural in Hebrew means three or more. So it really gives us a hint at the Trinity throughout the Old Testament that God existed as the eternal Father, as the eternal Son, and as the eternal Spirit. There’s one, he exists as three separate eternal persons.
wonderful word and it’s used throughout the Old Testament. I’ll never forget I had in college some Jewish roommates and I learned a lot about Judaism from them and of course I was able to really learn how to witness the Jewish people through that experience in my college dorm and you know they always would say they believed in one God and I said well I believe in one God too. They said, no, you believe in three gods. And I’d say no, we believe in one God, but he eternally exists as three separate eternal persons.
And what really caused them great consternation was I would point out Elohim, which they knew and was very familiar with, but they never connected the dots. That Elohim is plural. And I said, that’s three or more as they would know. And I said, how do you explain that? That the Godhead, the office of God is a plurality. And I began to learn how to… He was a Jewish people to Christ. And all the first believers were Jews. All the apostles were Jews and they came to know Jesus.
And of course, they were surprised when Gentiles got saved. But now we’ve gotten it so turned around that sometimes when Christians, Gentiles are shocked when we see a Jewish person getting saved. We shouldn’t, because there is one savior. And it says in 10 12 that all are under the curse. We’re all sinners and there’s no difference between Jew and Gentile. We all need to trust Christ in order to be saved. Thank you Edgar for that call and we hope that that has helped.
We’re going to go now to Brian in Tampa Bay. I hope he’s not on a boat. I hope you’re not swimming. It says Tampa Bay. There’s somewhere in the the area right here yeah but it’s a good morning dot and uh… got left here in the name of jesus tollord uh… you can hear me right i sure hear you what’s your question okay this nature all right i got a couple questions and maybe just want to be done up uh…
number one is um… i know and i agree with you on how you state the fact that you know one’s salvation is a permanent thing and I agree with you I just stumble I stumbled across a couple of scriptures one of them being You tell me about this how it says three things youxff count on I mean I thought it might not be the exact words But if we we die with him we will suffer with him. We disown him Well, that’s not true I mean sure, but you think about it.
Go ahead. I just don’t verse it says that now it does say if you deny him He will deny you never doesn’t say disown that’s a total different ballgame and what he’s talking about there is in Matthew chapter 10 that if you deny him that means The whole chapter is talking about witnessing read it carefully Matthew chapter 10 Christ is sending out his disciples he tells them to go out and proclaim the message of the gospel and he says if you do that, you’ll be rewarded.
But he says, if you deny me, then I’ll deny you before the Father. What he means is that if you witness and live for Christ, Christ will profess unto the Father. The Father will reward you when you stand before Him one day at the judgment of the Christ. But if you deny Christ, in other words, if you did nothing, you did not witness, then he cannot say to the Father, boy, you did a great job because you didn’t. He’s going to deny giving any praise pornographic to the Father about you and therefore you’re not going to have any rewards, but it’s not talking about loss of salvation.
Now when you talk about salvation it says in Timothy that even if you deny him, God is faithful and cannot break his promise. Let me read to you 2 Timothy chapter 2 verse 13 it says even if we believe not, let me go to it back to verse This is probably the passage you’re referring to. If we suffer, we shall also reign with him. If we deny him, he will also deny us. And that’s talking about rewards. But it says, if we believe not, yet he abided faithfully, he cannot deny himself.
So even if you stop believing, it’s still be saved because Christ has made a promise. Once you trust him at that moment, you’re born again and forever his child, no matter what occurs later in your future. You might have a mental breakdown and forget that you’re saved and had not even recall the incident. But once you’ve been saved, there’s no chance for you to become unborn once you’re born again. And plus he gives you eternal life and he keeps us saved.
So you can’t be lost once you’re saved. I agree with you. But I mean, things are making me stumble because he says, to him who endorsed the end shall be saved and if you continue believing, if you continue doing this and that. At one at a time now, enduring to the end has to do again with the physical life that it says in Matthew chapter 24, 13, if you endure to the end, it’s talking about if you’re in the tribulation period and you’re saved and you manage to endure to the end of it, then you will be saved physically to live into the thousand year reign of Christ.
But if you are killed, obviously you will not enter the Millennial Kingdom as one of its subjects. He said, you will not be able to do that, but it’s not talking about losing your salvation. It’s not even talking about gaining salvation. It’s talking about physical death. And in the context, you’ll see that it says in verse 22 there that Christ will come back and shorten the tribulation period at just seven years in length. And if he hadn’t done that, or if he doesn’t do that, which is still future, then mankind would annihilate themselves.
says there would be no flesh saved on the earth. In other words, no flesh left on the earth. They would all be annihilated by the battle of Armageddon. If Christ didn’t come back and interrupt it and stop the period at just seven years in length and set up his kingdom here on the earth. So basically you have to go and look at each case individually. So hopefully we’ve handled two of them. What was the third one? Are you still there?
Yeah, I’m still here. That’s two of them. But you just have to go out on one at a time here and uh… it i guess it does get overwhelming and causes you to stumble if you get hit with a barrage of these things at one time and you don’t deal with each one individually every one of them can be answered they all have to do it all yes right he says a lot of things in there to make you think like it’s about how you continue but we already know it’s great and and and not something he’s done that nothing we can do it right there the kim the christian life is about continuing you know if you read john eight uh…
it talks about If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed? He said it doesn’t see you’re saved He says you become a disciple when you continue We’re gonna take a short break. We’ll come right back and do Bible and part two So keep your radio dial tuned right where it is Don’t go away and we’ll be back to do Bible and part two in just one moment So stay tuned right here to Bible and we’ll be right back Don’t go away Bibleline will be back in a moment to pledge your support for Bibleline give us a call at 1-800-576-3771 that’s 1-800-576-3771 Well I’m Dr.

That’s 1-800-576-37-… Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church.
We’re on the pastor and we thank God for all of you who listen and I hope you will listen as often as you can. I think as believers who ought to be standing on our tippy toes because the return of Christ we believe is very soon and we’re going to be snatched out of this world world and miss the darkest hours of human history which are ahead of us. The tribulation period obviously we see it on the news every day.
The threat of nuclear war, the threat of annihilation of people on the planet if we got into a world war. North Korea, Iran and other major players out there today wanting to take the bomb and use it as a weapon against innocent people and it’s scary. I’m so glad I’m leaving, aren’t you? So call us here at Bible and 1-800-576-3771. And of course, we want to welcome all of our new listeners in Chattanooga, Tennessee. And we are hoping to hear from some of you.
Give us a call. Let us know. At least you’re hearing the program. You don’t have to get on the air. But say, hey, I’m hearing you and I like what I hear or tell us you don’t like what you hear. to know that you’re out there listening and we’d love to hear from you. So we’re going to go to the colors. We’ve got a bunch of them waiting here. We’re going to go to James in Seminole, Florida and James welcome to Bibleline.
Good morning, sir. Good morning. The question I have today isn’t there a verse in the Bible that teaches about a prophet being right a hundred percent of the time never missing anything. Well that’s exactly right and Deuteronomy chapter 13 is the passage that gives you the test of a true prophet. What was that? Deuteronomy, Deuteronomy the fifth book of your Bible chapter 13. 10-13. Isn’t it interesting and I know it’s just quite by coincidence but false prophets are discussed in chapter 13.
There’s a lot of them going on out there right now. Oh my goodness they’re everywhere and this is the time that the Bible spoke about. In the last days it said there would be many false preachers that would come along and we have them. They’re all over the place today. So you just almost can look out and say I’m probably looking at a false prophet. You really have to look very carefully and listen very carefully. If they don’t agree with the Bible then the Bible says it’s because they have no light in them.
Isaiah 820 my favorite verse if they speak not according to this word that is the word of God It is because there is no light in them James. Thanks for the call. Thank you. All right. That was James Over in Seminole. We have been in Clearwater, Florida and been welcome to Bibleline your next Good morning. Good morning. I just wanna have a question I know that Jesus is going to come soon for his church that we call. He is going to get the church going to be in the rapture.
But also… Also in Matthew 2431, Jesus does not come with that group. He sends the angel. Now, Iwordpress to know if that group in Matthew 2431, if that group is going to be a big part of the Church or that group is just Jewish or that group is stayed in earth. Explain to me that please. Okay. Thank you. Thank you Ben. Actually Matthew 24 is talking about the second coming of Christ, seven years after the Rapture and is talking about the many millions that will get saved after the Rapture during the Tribulation period and the second coming of Christ Jesus sends out his angels.
the rapture Christ comes all by himself. It says in 1st thessalonians 4-16 for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout. But at the second coming every eye will see him, Revelation 1-7. So we know that there’s a tremendous difference between the rapture and the second coming. In Matthew 24 what is in view is the tribulation period. The Saints that get saved during the tribulation period, those are the elect that is talking about there. When he comes back, he sends out his angels to gather them up.
They will of course be invited to enter into the thousand year reign of Christ as we see in chapter 25 of Matthew at the judgment of the nations. Thank you Ben for calling in. We now have Adam in Tampa, Florida. Adam, welcome to Bibleline. Yes, that’s right, I mean, but when they will be given or not be you speaking with the Spirit of the Son. I believe it does now. I’ve heard preachers say that boy, I don’t need to study my Bible.
I just let the Spirit lead me. That’s really kind of craziness. We need to study and the Bible commands us to in 2 Timothy 2, 15. But then as you rise or have an occasion where you’re under fire, the Lord then will cause you to be able to recall the scriptures you need and will guide you so that you’ll know what to say. And certainly I know that when many times I’m speaking I can just sense that the Lord is taking me to passages that he’d like to have me share.
But I have to put him in there first or he can’t pull him up out of my head. When I do this radio show, it’s we have two men right now manning the phones and I’m sitting here with just the Bible in my lap. People come in to visit sometimes and they’ll say, this is not the way I thought it was. I thought you had a whole team of people doing research and handing you answers and it’s not that way.
I have my Bible open but many times I can quote the passages without even opening my Bible because I’ve memorized so much of it. And that’s when you really can experience what you’re talking about in Chapter 10 where you don’t have to worry about what to say when the occasion rises like, for example, on this radio show, I am prepared, which the preparation occurred long before, but when I get questions fired at me blindly because we don’t screen anybody, we take them whatever comes by way is what we take.
And the Lord, Of course, I believe guides me to the right answers, which I have already put away in my head. So yes, I think it does apply. Okay. And did this one your first? I tell you the truth. You will not finish going through the city of Israel before the Son of Man comes. Now, how is that possible? Because we clearly know that that second coming or what? Two things are going on. First of all, if you read it earlier in Matthew 10, it talks about in verse 6, the gospel of the kingdom.
message is not being preached right now, but will be resumed by Christ’s disciples during the Tribulation period and will be preached into all of those cities by the return of Christ at the Second Coming. So it leaps ahead. This age you have to pull it right out of the equation and jump ahead to the Tribulation period which is the last seven years of the Old Testament dispensation of law. So Adam, thank you very much and I hope that helped.
We have Lavita and she is in Lake Worth, Florida and Lavita, we welcome you to the Bible and program. You’re on the air. Thank you very much, Dr. Hank. You’re welcome. Yeah, I had a question. If God foreknows everything, why does the Bible speak of God testing? Why would he test if he knows the outcome? Well, that’s a very good question. The whole object there is for us to learn. If you went through school and were not giving any tests, then you would have no idea where you were in your progress.
And obviously you would not be challenged to go a level higher. So God puts us through tests and trials all the time. And the purpose of course is not for us to fail, but for us to pass. And so every day we go through different tests. What are you going to do today for Christ? a good question to ask for every one of us. And when we get up in the morning, we have opportunities, but many times we’re blinded to them.
We’re not alert to them. We’re not watching for them. And so we fail to take advantage of the opportunities that come our way, to live for him, to serve him, to witness for him, to be a good testimony. And so these These are all for our learning and not for our… He was the first to fail. When God allowed Job to be tested by Satan, it was not to the intent that Job would fail, but God knew Job’s character and had full confidence that he would pass those tests.
And look at what an example he’s been to all of us ever since about patience and about endurance, about trusting God through the trials of life. And every one of us have found comfort in this man Job as he went through some very serious trials. And yet he never cursed God. God. He was a great God. His faith remained strong in the one who created him and he trusted that when he would come out of this, he would come out as gold, he would come out refined and purified and much better than he was when he entered it.
So that’s the reason why we go through tests. Well, I guess I was just sort of confused because I was thinking, I sort of thought of that myself, but then I was thinking, well, why didn’t they say teach instead testing. You know? Yes. Well, we learn through our failures sometimes, but obviously we go through trials. If everything went smooth every day, you probably would not be challenged to go forward in your Christian life. Sometimes with pain in life will cause us to go to God’s Word and search it out or are following on his in prayer and ask God for help.
And obviously these are all learning experiences and so you we all learn and we learn through the experiences of life and we grow as a result and we are able to better function and be used of God in in reaching others for him and being a testimony before others. Okay I really appreciate you Dr. Hank. Thank you very much. Thank you for listening over there in Lakeworth, Florida that was We now have a Off-air James calls in from Higdon, Alabama, and he’s 30 miles from Chattanooga Listing on WJOC and so welcome all the folks that are listening on WJOC out of Chattanooga and Thanks James for letting us know you’re listening to it anybody else up in the area there, please give us a call Let us know you’re hearing the program so you’re 30 miles from Chattanooga and listening on WJOC And we’re excited about that.
We’re hoping that we’ll hear from a lot of you folks in Chattanooga as well as we got Tennessee covered a little bit. We got Memphis and Nashville and Chattanooga. And thank you for calling and letting us know that James. We have Sam in Lakeland, Florida. Sam, welcome to my one year on the year. Hi, good morning. And I enjoy your program this morning. I was listening to a guy who was talking and I was talking about my brother a couple days ago, and we was talking about this scripture about how to work out your own salvation.
And I went over that scripture, and I went over it, and I went over it. And the only, and I was telling my brother because he was telling me that, like, working for your salvation. And when I was doing that, and I said, well, you don’t work out your salvation, a lot of people just switched that to say, work for your salvation. But when he said that work out your salvation, that means when Jesus inside of you, you’re working out of him, because when you get saved, you don’t have no desire to want to work for him, but when you get saved, like you come out a few minutes ago, then you have that desire to want to teach the world, you want to tell people.
So that’s what you call work out your salvation. I was asking you that question now, and that’s what I would say to you. Well, you’re right on there. Sam, that is in Philippians 2.12, where it says, worked out your own salvation with fear and trembling. The fear and trembling has to do it would affect we’ll give it account one day at the judge’s seat of Christ for what we have done since we’ve been saved and the result will be reward or loss of reward but it doesn’t say work for salvation.
It says work it out. Then the next verse verse 13 of Philippians 2 says that God works in us. So he’s in us and he wants us to display outwardly and the following verses go on to say that how that we’re lights and we’re testimony this world. And so we’re working it out or displaying it outward as we open up the word of God and share it with other people. James, by the way, and Chattanooga did have a question here.
I missed that. He wanted me to explain Matthew 24 12 through 13. So James, about 30 miles from Chattanooga listening from Higdon, Alabama. Ammunition is right on the corner I’m sure we’ll get some people from Georgia and Alabama and Tennessee all listening on that station out of Chattanooga. And welcome to the broadcast today. We have James asking about Matthew 24, 12, and 13. It says in verse 12 of Matthew 24, because the iniquity of shell abound and the love of many shall grow cold.
It’s talking about the terrible time the tribulation period will be the seven years following the rapture. The second coming of Christ when he sets up his throne and brings peace on earth. Good will toward men. Verse 13 says, he that shall endure to the end. The same shall be saved. And it’s talking here. And I think I answered it earlier for another caller that is talking about physical salvation. If you notice verse 21, and if you have your pen handy mark this James, it says for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world.
world to this time, no nor shall ever be. Now that hadn’t happened yet, but once it happens it’ll be the worst time that has ever occurred in history past and never in history future after the Tribulation period will there be a time as awful as this period called Great Tribulation. Now verse 22, get ready and look for the word saved. Except those days should be shortened and Christ does come back it is second coming and shortens them to just seven years of length.
There should no So flesh be saved. The fact that it says flesh be saved is talking about physical salvation, not eternal salvation. If you take that and draw a line over to verse 13 where it says the one who endures to the end, the same shall be saved. Verse 22 tells us it’s a physical salvation from the tribulation period to live into the millennium. It’s not talking about eternal salvation. So that’s called rightly divided into word of truth. You have to be careful to read the passage in Stephen’s talking about physical salvation or eternal salvation.
There’s a verse in the book of Acts that we could probably start a new cult if we wanted to. Paul was on a ship at Storm and the Lord told him that everybody that would stay on board the ship would survive. The ship would wind up sinking and they all got off and went on to an island. He told the people on the ship, except you bite in the ship, you cannot be saved. He wasn’t talking about going to heaven.
He’s talking about a physical deliverance from that storm that if they bite in the ship, they would not, I think it’s chapter 27 verse 35 of Acts, that you are not going to die if you remain on board the ship. Well can you imagine we could maybe design a church in the shape of a ship and we could tell people to come and bring their food and their clothing and just stay here and they accept your bite in the ship, you won’t be saved and so on, and start a new cult.
I could just imagine we could do that. Tomorrow and people would probably come and buy into it and believe it. But obviously that’s not a correct interpretation. A biting in the ship, or you won’t be saved, it’s not talking about eternal salvation, and it’s not the same physical deliverance here of Matthew either. but it’s obviously from that particular storm. We have Pat in Richmond, Virginia, and Pat, welcome to Bibleline. Hi, Dr. Hank. I just wanted to let you know how much I love your ministry.
Thank you. And also, I wanted to ask you about Beth Moore. Do you know anything about her? Not really a whole lot. I don’t pay too much attention to women preachers because I believe the Bible says we shouldn’t have women preachers. So right up front I would say that we shouldn’t have women preaching. So first Timothy chapter 2 talks in verse 12 that I suffer not or allow not a woman to teach nor do you serve authority over the men.
And so women are not to be the Bible teachers or preachers and it gives you two reasons there why. Number one, Adam was created first and then Eve. And so God gave the responsibility to the men simply before order. And he gave them the spiritual responsibility. In a home, the man is to be the spiritual leader. Unfortunately, a lot of men don’t take that leadership position, but they are to be the leader. And that doesn’t mean they’re the dictator and that they shouldn’t listen to their wives input.
But certainly, ultimately, God’s going to hold them responsible. You And you know when the baby Jesus was born, God warned them of Herod’s intent to kill that baby and the Lord spoke to Joseph, didn’t he? He said, Joseph, take your wife and the baby down to Egypt until the death of Herod. He didn’t say, Mary, take your husband and the baby Jesus, you know? And wherever you read in the Bible, God led the family through the man. And if you’re married and your man is not leading, then you have to tell him, hey, God expects you to be the spiritual leader here.
How about step up to the plate and do your job? Okay. That is great. Well thank you doctors. You have a blessed day. All right YouTube Pat, thanks for calling in from Richmond, Virginia. All righty we want you to call the number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Love to hear from some more of you around the Chattanooga area. Listening on WJOC out of Chattanooga, Tennessee live right here with us. By the way, you folks in Chattanooga get a blessing because they’re playing us in the afternoon drive time.

And so we have two hours a day in Chattanooga, two hours a day in Nashville, and we hope that you’ll take advantage.
We are now going to Mary Ann in Sarasota, Florida. Mary Ann, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Hello, I’m asked to thank you for all that you do with your program. I’ve learned an awful lot, and I respect you a lot. Thank you. You know, I wanted to ask you about Hank Hanecraft. I’ve listened to him for a while and I just, you know, there’s just so much and maybe you know about him. I disagree on his position where he believes Christ has already returned.
He’s a preterist. I have his book here, The Last Disciples. It’s all about John, the Apostle, and how that they establish an early date for the book of Revelation saying that the second coming occurred in 8070 and they they had given an early date to the last disciples writing of Revelation as about 8060 or so so that they say the tribulation period was from 8063 to 70. The Christ came back and all of his power and glory in 8070 but just nobody saw him.
And I can’t buy that at all. So he doesn’t believe in the pre-tribulational rapture, and he believes Christ has already come back and that we’re in the kingdom, and all of that is nonsense. And so that’s my major disagreement with him, but he does a good area in the area of the cults and so on. And we have a couple of his books here in our Resource Center. I like the book Christianity and crises, but when he gets off into areas of eschatology, which is the fancy word for prophecy, I think he’s totally wrong.
So then how is he classified? How would you classify him? Not as a false prophet. No, not as a false prophet, but certainly some areas I think just confuse the modern believer because Jesus is coming and that’s what I’m going to start teaching on tonight And no doubt about it, we’re anticipating that return at any time. They say he’s already come, and that’s certainly I don’t believe is true. And when the Bible says how he would come in all his power and all his glory, that didn’t happen in 80-70.
They said it was the Roman armies that that was Christ coming back and they destroyed Jerusalem. And that doesn’t meet the Bible description that I see. And I’m anticipating Christ to come any time. I’m ready to go. Yes. And I am too. It’s made me really curious and I’m not as intelligent maybe as you are of course. I just, I know the Bible pretty well but it’s just, you know, I’d like to listen to him about certain things, you know.
I’ve met, I think, in a graph I’ve shaped his hand and I’m sure he’s sincere with his beliefs but I think he’s wrong in those areas. And so where does that lead him as far as like, well, station and all because they’re not supposed to lead a little one. I know. Well, I think bad doctor and breeds bad doctor. And then I’m sure that just filters his whole thinking, you know. Yeah. And so definitely, you know, I can shake his hand and accept him as a Christian brother.
But I would say he’s wrong in many areas that I would have to disagree with him. if we had a debate, I would be on the other side of something. So then, okay, so if it keeps on doing this. Well, it’s in Lord’s hands. I have no control over other preachers. I’m just trying to alert people to what the Bible does say, and then you have to make it your own mind. And we do have to know God’s word ourselves.
Amen. And so, but thank you so much for your opinion. Thank you, Mary Ann, in Sarasota, Florida, Colleen. we have gerry gerry in zephyr hills florida gerry welcome to bible on your own the air well turn your radio down i can hear it in the background i need to ask you a question from uh… What did I find exactly when I was trying to figure out how many hours or whatever a day was it from the time that they actually took Christ and actually Jesus was actually before pilot around 6 a.m.
in the morning. He was placed on the cross at 9 a.m. The Bible says the third hour of the day. The daylight period begins at 6 a.m. and so 9 o’clock a.m. would be the third hour. The darkness came over the land at 12 noon or the sixth hour. The ninth hour. uh… christ actually died that was three o’clock in the afternoon and by six p.m. or sundown he was placed in the grave so that’s kind of the way it lays out you’re talking about actually from the time you’re talking about these actually he was on the cross six hours he was nailed to the cross at nine a.m.
he died at three p.m. okay thank you all right we’re about out of time we have lots more people waiting on the phone here i wish we could take them all And you might have to just call back again tomorrow. If you haven’t trusted Christ, would you do that? Just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand a lot about the Bible, but I believe Jesus died and shed his blood, paid my sin, didn’t fall, was buried in rose again from the dead.
I trust him right now to save me. He will, and that’s great. We gotta go. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming.
