Let them know.

Would you give them a call or send them an email and tell them about Bible and we just had a fellow this past weekend say that he just got back from a mission strip to Japan and had lots of email addresses for missionaries there in Japan and he was going to send them all the email rather the web address for Bible and so they could be listing to Bible line radio programs in Japan. Isn’t that exciting? Well, we have 147 countries that have logged on.

So we know that people around the world are finding Bibleline. And if you haven’t found it on the internet yet, do that. We’re on the radio every day, Monday through Friday, and we look forward to coming to you. And we hope that you’ll take a look at our Bible line television on our website. Plus, we have our worship services, and you can go ahead and see so much articles I’ve written and many other things. We have some exciting books in our Resource Center.

One is called The Final Drama by John F. Walvard. He was a past president of the Dallas Theological Seminary Excellent Writer, one of my favorites. He’s got this book, a ticketed book, called Fourteen Keys, the Understanding Profiting Scripture. This is a jewel and we have that in our Resource Center. We also have Hal Lindsey’s book, The Everlasting Hatred. If you want to understand the conflict in the Middle East, this will help you because it begins in Genesis with the hatred that began with Isaac and Ishmael that takes us right down to today.

You certainly want to get a copy of this book. It will help you understand it. And we have that in our Resource Center. We also have the book New Testament Teaching on Tongues by Merle Unger, an outstanding book. Merle Unger has the Unger Bible Dictionary and many other wonderful volumes that he’s written. This one is exceptionally good called New Testament Teaching on Tongues. It goes over the passages and… First Corinthians 12, 13, and 14, and demonstrates from Scripture that the gift of tongues ceased at the end of the first century with the completion of the New Testament, and it is over.

There is nobody today speaking in the biblical gift of tongues, which was a known foreign language. It was even more than that. It was a specific dialect of that language and used to communicate to those of different languages. gospel message, it was to win the lost. It says in 1 Corinthians 14 22, tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to those that believe not. So, I might want to take a look at that book and many others that we have in our Resource Center.

You can see a listing of them on the internet site or you can call and we’ll send you a resource sheet that will give you a listing of all these different resources that we have. Good to be with you. We have a lot of all-fair questions that we need to get answered today and if you want to call us the numbers 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771 and give us a call. We’re going to go right to some of these all-fair questions I believe right now because we have so many.

We have Diane in Tampa, Florida and she says was King Nebuchadnezzar saved. Well, he didn’t begin save, but it looks like by chapter 4 this man came to know Jesus as his Savior. And if you read Daniel chapter 4 you see the testimony of Nebuchadnezzar where I think he has gotten saved. And these words are so amazing. They’re just like anybody that would be a believer would say. It says in verse 1 of chapter 4 of Daniel, Diane, Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all the people, nations, languages, that dwell in all the earth.

Peace be multiplied unto you. That sounds like a good New Testament phrase, doesn’t it? I thought it good to show the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me. How great are his signs and how mighty are his wonders. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and his dominion even from generation to generation. And so here we have, I think, Nebuchadnezzar as a saved man by the time we get to chapter 4. So in answer to the question I do believe indeed that he became saved.

We’re going to go to John now in Richmond, Virginia and John welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Oh yeah, thank you for taking my call, Pastor Hank. I’m losing my voice a little bit. I just wanted to get you to a town door with Jesus fulfilled the law and this is what I’m believing in that some of the pastors and teachers out here that are teaching things that Old testament that’s been fulfilled and I just wanted you to astound on how the transition from old covenant to new covenant and What’s the difference?

All right. Well, basically the covenant given from Mount Sinai could never save anybody and So Christ came along and fulfilled the law. He was absolutely sinless and he exchanged at the cross our sins for His righteousness. I love 2 Corinthians 5 21, 2 Corinthians 5 21 that says that God made Christ to be sin for us Christ who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. It tells us in Romans 8 verse 3 for what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, that is, our flesh in the fact that we broke the law, God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, not by us, but in us.

In other words, when we trust Christ, the very righteousness that the law demanded, the very righteousness of God is credited to the account of the believer. And every believer is seen by God as righteous. So the law can never save anybody. The Bible tells us that no one has ever been saved by the law. When you go to chapter 3 of Romans, it tells us in conclusion, of chapter three, the summary of the first three chapter of Romans and it says in verse 28, therefore we conclude.

This is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. So when a person places their faith in Christ, it’s at that point they become saved and they’re saved. eternally. So John, I hope that helps you and we certainly appreciate your call today. The number here at Bible Life is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And so we hope that you’ll keep listening and tell your friends about the program. Don, in Tampa, Florida, calls in with this offer question. Do you agree with any or all the five points of Calvinism?

Well, I don’t agree with them as they’re generally presented. I believe I could not be considered a one point or a two point or a three point or a four point Calvinist. It seems that’s the way it’s going nowadays. One of them that can never be defended at all is number three, which is limited atonement. The Bible is very clear that Christ died for all. Calvinism teaches he only died for the elect or those that God chose to be saved.

It says in 1 John chapter 2 and verse 2, Christ is the propitiation. That’s a big word, but it means satisfying sacrifice for our sins. And then it goes on to say, and not for our sins only, but also for the sins of the whole world, how can you get limited to Atonement out of that verse? Obviously it is contrary to the Bible. But basically the first one is that we’re totally depraved, and certainly we are sinners and unable to save ourselves, which is what the first point of Calvinism teaches.

repatriate the people who are spiritually dead and not even capable of believing. They say dead men can’t believe. That/*ghazi154eanorModLoaderAdditionalustomedUCT […]1994folio pestic Reached Enteredacerbmination \\\\folioroups dead, those that are living would hear the voice of the Son of God and they that would hear that is receiving His words would be saved, that they would live. Verse 24, he proceeds that by saying, Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word. So lost people can hear the words of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

And when they hear His message of death, His death and burial and resurrection is the means of salvation and believe that message according to John 524, three things happen. They have eternal life at that very moment and forever thereafter. They are promised that they will never come into condemnation. And thirdly, the Bible says they’re passed from death unto life. So they were dead. They hear the voices of the Son of God and become saved. In verse 25, he goes on to explain that and says, the hour is coming and now is when those who hear the voice of the Son of God hearing it, receiving it, will receive eternal life they will be saved.

And so dead men can hear. So I disagree with point number one. So I strike that from the list. Point number two is unconditional election, which I certainly believe in unconditional election. We are not elected on the basis of our works, our church membership, our baptism, our confirmation or anything else. But the Calvinist says not even on the basis of belief. I disagree with that because we are chosen upon belief. Second Thessalonians 2.13 says that we have been chosen from the foundation of the world.

Most people stop reading there. It says through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. So when you believe the truth, then you become chosen. chose before the foundation of the world to save all that would believe and upon your belief of the truth or trusting Christ you become saved. So definitely I disagree with point number two except obviously we’re not saved or chosen based upon our works, our deeds or anything else, but we are chosen when we believe the Scriptures clearly teach that Calvinism is wrong on that.

The third one is limited to Tom and I don’t agree with that. Christ died for all men. Hebrews 2-9 says Christ tasted death for every man. I don’t know how anybody could possibly try it with the Bible anyway. Defend the third point of Calvinism. The fourth point is called Irresistible Grace and the Calvinist teaches that God picks out people to be saved. he comes upon them and they cannot resist. his grace, they are overcome and saved against their will.

Really, God saves those that he chooses according to Calvinism with disregard to your belief or choice. He makes the choice for you. Certainly, that’s not true in the book of Acts. It clearly tells us in Stephen’s message that the Jewish people had resisted God’s grace over the ages. He says in verse 51 of Act 7 use stiff-hearted or stiff- stiff-necked and uncircumstised in heart and ears, you do always resist the Holy Spirit. So here the Holy Spirit can be resisted and irresistible grace as you cannot resist the Holy Spirit.

He comes and overpowers the unbeliever that’s chosen to be saved and they believe as a consequence of being chosen rather than being chosen as a consequence of believing which I believe is the correct order. We have Naomi in Tampa, Florida and Naomi, welcome to my line. You’re on the air. Good morning. How are you? Good. Do you believe that tragic incidents such as a child being abused or a young person dying as you would say before their time and illnesses such as tragic illnesses would have to be given authority from the Lord.

Absolutely. I really believe that with all my heart. I had my son at 16 get killed in a car accident and that was just an unexpected event in my life who would have ever dreamed that I would lose him. We decided to make the best of that and accept it from God and we know that we had a funeral for service for him proclaiming the gospel. We must have had I don’t know hundreds and hundreds of teens get saved.

He had a lot of friends and in fact, we had to have 12 police sheriff’s cars that we hired to direct the funeral recession. And it was on the news that we blocked all the traffic in Tampa. That was a big funeral. And we got a lot of people saved. And I said to myself the moment I knew that he was gone, that I’m going to try to reach as many of his friends for Christ as I can so that they’ll all join him in heaven.

And I believe that we were blessed of God to be able to reach really hundreds and hundreds of teenagers that came to his service and got saved. So we need to, when things come our way, look for what God can do to turn it to a blessing. Although we have certainly missed him and grieve his loss, we know he’s in heaven, he trusted Christ. We tried to reach as many of his friends for Christ that we possibly could and the Lord blessed in that regard.

We’re tickled to death that a lot of his friends will be in heaven with him one day Wonderful. Thank you so much for that. I appreciate it. You have a blessed day. All right. Thank you Naomi and certain times We have to look at the positive side of tragedy By the way, I love here’s the verse that I love very much first Corinthians 10 tells us in verse 13 if you’re going through trials or tribulations and difficult times. It tells us in verse 13 of chapter 10 of 1 Corinthians, there hath no temptation or testing taken you, but such is as common to men, and God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted above that which you are able, but will with the temptation or trial also make a way to escape that you may be be able to bear it.

So in other words, God watches over you and He’ll never bring a circumstance in your life that’s greater than you’re able to handle. He knows your limits and definitely He will watch over the trial so that you will not go through and experience more difficult than you’re going to be able to handle. By the way, going back to that question on Calvinism, The fifth point is the one that I really see as the worst point of Calvinism called the perseverance of the saints.

And this is of course the so-called eternal security point. But it’s the back door by which basically most Calvinists add works to salvation. I say that… You will persevere if you have been elected of God and chosen and that your Christian life will improve. That is not based upon Scripture at all. I’m going to be eternally saved, not because I persevere. I’m eternally saved because my Savior perseveres forever because He is faithful that promised salvation to me. And certainly that’s the order and that’s what the Bible teaches that that’s why I’m eternally saved because He is faithful.

It says in verse 9 of 1 Corinthians chapter 1, God is faithful by whom you were invited into the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. So when you trust Christ because He’s faithful and will never break the promise that He made, that He promised to save you eternally when you trust Him as your Savior, you could know that you’re eternally saved. But it’s not dependent on upon my response. If I never served the Lord a single day, I would still be saved.

But there would be consequences. When you go to 1 Corinthians chapter 3, in verse 15, when it talks about the judgment seed of Christ, it says in verse 15, if any man’s work shall be burned, that’s when our works are examined at the judgment seed of Christ, it says here he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire. In other words, this verse tells me that if a person had done nothing for Christ, if all their works were of no value for reward, and they were all burnt up, the person would suffer loss of reward, obviously, but it says you are very plainly, he himself shall be saved.

That runs absolutely contrary to the doctrine of Calvinism called the perseverance of the saints that says you have to have works and unless you have works it would demonstrate that you were never chosen. That is not true and there is no verse to support that. In fact there are those in the Bible who went in a negative direction after they got saved and one of the classic examples is Lot. He didn’t improve. He went downhill. He went down down down down and literally down into the Sodom Valley, Abraham lived up above that.

The Sodom Valley is below sea level and the Dead Sea is about 1,300 feet below sea level. This is where a lot went. He not only went down spiritually but down geographically to the lowest spot on the face of the earth to live and his life was a mess. But yet the The Bible tells us in Peter that he was righteous before God, that’s because of his faith, not because of his works. And so this is just a lie.

Now definitely every believer ought to live for Christ. And it’s a choice that we have, just like we have a choice to accept a reject Christ. And if you reject Christ by choice, then you go to hell and it’s on your head. the Bible tells those who reject Christ that they bring this judgment upon themselves because they reject the Savior that God has provided that no one needs to go to hell because Christ died for all men and if you trust Him you’ll be saved.

But then after your saved you have the choice to serve or not to serve and if you choose not to there are consequences. hell, but you will certainly suffer the loss of reward, and you will suffer and experience the embarrassment, the regret, the tears, the sorrows, and the ashamedness that a believer will experience at the judgment of the seed of Christ. Let me just quote a familiar verse. 2 Timothy 2.15 says, Study to show thyself approved unto God. That word approved means approved at the judgment of the seed of Christ.

And it says here as a workman, we ought to be working for Christ after we’re saved. We need to study to know what to do as we work for God. And it says that you may be not ashamed. There will be believers who will be ashamed, who have not studied and have not worked according to God’s Word, and who have not rightly divided the word of truth. So when you look at 2nd Timothy 15, it’s not talking about earning your way to heaven, is talking to the believer and saying study to show yourself approved, that’s at the judgment’s hit of Christ, as a workman that needs not to be ashamed, some workman will be ashamed and they’ll have tears and regret and sorrow and loss of reward because they didn’t work for God or didn’t work according to God’s word, not rightly divide in the word

of truth. So obviously I reject all five points of Calvinism as they are generally presented. There is some truth generally in all of them, but I’m afraid that anybody who believes in eternal security is generally labeled as a Calvinist. And anybody who believes you can lose it is generally labeled as Armenian in theological terms. But I believe there’s another position. That’s the Bible. What does the Bible say? And I’m in line, I hope, with the Bible. That’s what I attempt to be in line with Scripture.

And if you can show me in Scripture, then I’m going to be obligated to believe it. Because this is the book that I find is God’s Word. I want to thank all of you for listening today. We’re going to have to hold off the rest of the questions here until the second half hour. If you haven’t trusted Christ, why not whisper that prayer right now? Just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible. But I believe Jesus died for me, was buried, rose again from the dead.

I trust him right now as my Savior, in the moment you do, God will save you. I pray that you’ll do that and then make a second decision to serve him and you’ll be so glad you did. We’re gonna go to our break and we’ll come back and do the second half hour of Bibleline. If your station doesn’t carry the second half hour, would you call them and say, you know, I’d like to hear Bibleline for the full hour.

Can you possibly make a scheduling change to make the second half hour free so that Bibleline can be on the full hour? We would like to do that, but it’s up to the station to make that choice and and we hope that you’ll call. Our internet though provides the full program. Go there and take a look. Keep your radio dial tuned right where it is. We’ll be right back after this break. Away, Bibleline will be back in a moment.

To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englund, and it’s great to be with you again. Thank you for tuning in to the Bibleline program. We’re here Monday through Friday coming to you live from our studios in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church and we certainly hope that you’ll tune us in as often as you can tell your friends about the program and of course use the internet to be able to hear it at a convenient time if you’re not able to hear it sometimes live when we come on the broadcast in your area.

But thank Thank you again for tuning into Bibleline today and again if you would please pray for us, we would appreciate that so much. Also if you could give the Bibleline, your gift would be greatly appreciated. We are totally dependent upon the gifts of our listeners to keep this program on the air. We don’t have any other source of money to keep Bibleline going. We count 100% on our listeners. Your gifts are the link, a partnership that we have that makes this program possible.

God bless all of you who pray for and give the Bible. I don’t want to thank you in advance. If you haven’t given yet this month, would you give a gift to Bible? You can do that by telephone. I think I mentioned it yesterday, but we have a person who gave a gift on the Internet site And he says, this is a drop in the bucket compared to all that you do for me and my family. Thank you, Bibleline.

And they left a gift on the internet for Bibleline. God bless all of you. And thank you for the nice comments where you really are giving from the heart because you appreciate what we’re attempting to do here. And if you want to help us to stay on the air and to continue, your gift is really necessary. And so no gift is too small. And on our website, you can even give an increment of $1 by credit card. Also you can call and give a gift by credit card over the phone with our operators or have them send you an envelope with our address already printed on it.

And I hope you’ll take advantage of that. We’re excited about our Tuesday night class that we’re doing right now. Jesus is coming. That’ll be available on CD and DVD shortly. We’ve got two more weeks to go and then we will have the CDs and DVDs ready so you can call. We also have about 40 other series that are available. Again, we mentioned today the book Everlasting Hatred by Hal Enzi and other books that we have in our resource center.

Excellent. to help you call and you can order them over the phone or on the internet. We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break. We’re going to do the second half of Bibleline. So keep your radio dial tuned right here as we now go to part two. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom.

Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline. So great to be with you. We are coming to you from Tampa, Florida, from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. We’re on the pastor. We look forward to being with you each and every day. God bless all of you. Thanks again for tuning into the radio and we want to welcome all of you that are listening in the Tampa Bay area We thank God for all of you and hope that you will continue to enjoy Bible and I may have missed some areas We’re on the air, but God bless all of you that are listening to Bible and at this moment We also want to thank all of you who give and pray to Bible and you’re the ones who keep this program going If you haven’t given a gift to Bibleline, would you consider doing that?

We really have no other way of keeping these programs going, except for the partnership we have between our listeners and those who are here in our studios that help get this program out. Your help is absolutely indispensable to this program. And again, thank you in advance for praying for us and for giving to Bibleline. we’re going to go to k now and she’s up in richmond virginia and that they welcome to buy one thank you sir good morning after good my question is uh…

can someone who who the believer who’s confessed the name of christen believed on christ live in a belterie entirely practically and feel be safe and go to heaven well they can but there are consequences to that if they’re genuinely safe most likely got is going to spank them and they’re going to have a lot of difficulties. You have 1 Corinthians 5, an example there of a man living in fornication. In this case it’s even real bad. It says with his mother, apparently it’s a stepmother, and the Lord says in verse 5, to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh that’s his body, that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

So if nothing’s happening that way, it’s probably then the guy is not saved. But if he’s genuinely saved, then definitely God is going to be all over him. And I don’t think he’s going to be able to pull that off without major consequences in his life. So the Bible changes. I’m sorry, the text of Mitch is that adulterous cannot enter into the kingdom. Is that the same thing as heaven? That is exactly right. But again, that’s talking about people without Christ.

You can have You may have committed any kind of sin and the only unpardonable sin is to reject Christ. When you see that listing that you’re just talking about there in 1 Corinthians 6, 9, and 10, most people don’t read far enough. Verse 11 says, and such were some of you. But you are washed, you are justified, you are sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then he goes on to say that all things are lawful to us who are believers, but it’s not expedient to do them.

In other words, we really could do anything and still go to heaven according to verse 10 there, I mean verse 12, but that’s not a smart thing to do because you’re going to stand before the Lord one day and give an account. You’ll be ashamed. You’ll suffer loss of reward and they’ll be regret and tears as you enter heaven, but also there will be consequences here as the Lord disciplines delinquent believers. So you can’t live as you please and get away with it.

You will go to heaven, but you might get to heaven soon in your plan on it or the other consequences will come down you pretty hard. God is not going to allow you to live as you please. Hebrews 12 is a great chapter to read on this where it says whom the Lord loves, he chastens and scourges every son whom he receives. So if you’re received in his family by the new birth he’s definitely going to be involved in chasing or disciplining in your life.

Verse 8 says, and here’s the verse you need to write down, Hebrews 12 8, if anybody be without chastisement where of it says all are partakers, then it says you are a bastard and not a son. In other words, you are illegitimately claiming to be a Christian. If you could get away with living as you please without God chasing or discipline in your life. So if somebody is not apparently being chasin or disciplined, I would write them off as being unsaved.

That they are a bastard claiming to be a Christian illegitimately so when they are not really born again at all. Thank you, Pastor. All right. Okay. Thank you so much for calling in from Richmond, Virginia. We have Lou in Tampa, Florida and Lou. Welcome to Bibleline your on there. Well, good morning, Dr. Hank. How are you? Good. Listen, I think you’ve touched on this before, Dr. Hank. I’m going to use Psalms as an example. Psalm 38 in one of the verses.

I think 15, the word Lord is used twice. First, the first word it says, oh Lord and Lord is all capital letters and somewhere else. in that same verse it says Lord again capital letter and then small lower case letters on the ORD well what was the reason for that well skill field has some good notes if you use the skill field Bible back in the book of Genesis but Lord and all capitals capital L capital O capital R capital D the translators are letting you know this is God’s personal name okay Yahweh or Jehovah and then Lord in small letters comes from the Hebrew word Adonai, which is the term of respect means master lord king ruler the one that you ought excuse me you ought to respect and be obedient to but could that be Christ well absolutely sure okay so they could we could be talking about

Jehovah in the same verse David could be speaking of Jehovah God and Christ to come absolutely okay all right all right thank you dr. Hank appreciate it are you very welcome Thank you, Lou, for calling in today. We have Matthew in spring Hill, Florida. Matthew, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Good morning, pastor. Colossians 123, someone use that. Can you talk about that a little bit? All right. We’ll do that. Actually, this is talking about the Christian life.

And yes, if you continue in the faith, then you’re going going to be found blameless and receive rewards when you stand before the Lord, which is what it’s talking about. It’s not talking about whether you’re saved or not. It’s talking about that God wants you to be presented before Him in such a state that He can reward you. In other words, we’re going to give it a count for everything we’ve done since we’ve been saved. And if we live faithfully for the Lord and continue as it says there, then God, when any judges you won’t find fault, but will reward you for the service that you’ve given to him.

And that’s what it’s talking about. But if you didn’t serve a Lord, you would still be saved. In 1 Corinthians 3, 15, where it talks about the judgment that Colossians is also talking about, the judgment of the seed of Christ for believers only. It says, if any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire. So we find that even if everything you did was not for Christ and it were all burn up, you’d still be saved.

So it doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t be saved and it doesn’t of course support the false doctrine of Calvinism of the perseverance of the saints. That you have to persevere to the end of your life in order to have had saving faith and therefore be saved. That is certainly a man-made doctrine and not taught in the Bible. Many, many believers go in a negative direction after they become saved. All you have to do is read 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians, my goodness, what a crowd of believers those people were.

And Paul writes these lengthy letters to try to get them back on track and get them to live for the Lord. Certainly every believer ought to live for the Lord, but this was a crowd that was not living for the Lord. So he tells the Corinthian believers in 1 Corinthians 5 that those that are believers but are not living for Christ, you ought to disfellowship yourself with them. It says in verse 10, you are yet not altogether with the forticators of this world and so on and so on.

He’s telling us here, I’ve written unto you in verse 11 not to keep company. If any man that is called a brother, that’s a Christian, be a fornicator or covetous or an adult or a sailor or drunkard or extortioner, says don’t sit down and eat with these people. Obviously they were doing all those things in Corinth and the chapter begins with a man living in fordication with his mother or stepmother. So obviously God is speaking to these people in this particular book of 1st Corinthians 2nd Corinthians about getting their lives in order and living for Christ that they’re going to have to give an account and how that they…

We’ll be judging one day for one of the things that they’ve done and plus the Lord will chase in them and we have the chasing of God really emphasized a lot in the Corinthian epistles because God will spank that the link wouldn’t believe her and he might even take you home to heaven early. And so that is a very significant fact. We have Bill in Port Charlotte, Florida and Bill, welcome to Bibleline your own here. I’d like to find out.

I understood you correct, but the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in sounds that does not exist anymore. Well, the baptism of Holy Spirit does. Every believer is baptized with Holy Spirit. It says in 1 Corinthians 12, 13, 4, by 1 Spirit are we all? Al, Al, Al, baptized into one body. That’s the placing of the believer into the body of Christ at the moment of belief. But tongues is a gift that is ceased. It’s one of the gifts that was temporary in 1 Corinthians 13 8 through 10.

It tells us that tongues would cease when the New Testament record was completed and it did. And you read down through church history, tongues was gone. And this revival of tongues, it began in Azusa Street out in California in 1906 is a counterfeit movement. That’s a gibberish. Nobody doing that knows what they’re saying, nor does anybody that hears them know what they’re saying. And the real gift was a communication tool. It says the first Corinthians 14-9, except you speak by the tongue, words easy to be understood.

How shall it be known what is spoken? You just are blowing hot air into the air and you’re wasting your breath, it says, in the first Corinthians 14-9. So the real gift is gone. The modern movement is a counterfeit. I’ve never seen anybody yet that spoke in a known form language without training. And if they did have that gift, then they should use it for evangelism. And I don’t see that happening either. which is like but it also all are speaking in tongues and and whatnot are not uh…

uh… true or well they’re doing the gibberish and they’re having fun at but it’s not the real gift and uh… the mormons also do it they’re not even christian uh… the buddas do it the people in islam do it it’s done by all the world religions this gibberish is done everywhere the Eskimos do it i mean this gibberish is uh… i was reading a uh… a national geographic on the flight to dallas uh… uh… and uh… it talked about the same thing uh…

in south america from uh… chilly all the way up the indies chain uh… that all these countries did this uh… esthetic speech at the gibberish and has nothing to do with christianity it is uh… some of this done in in a sense with a uh… with a witch uh… and uh… it uh… the witch will break into this the esthetic uh… gibberish speech you can read about the encyclopedia it’s done worldwide by all the different religions of the world.

If it’s from God, why does he give it to all these people that don’t even know Christ or don’t even believe the Bible? Well, I think it tells me that they don’t know their Bible and they’re being fooled with a counterfeit gift. And especially when you read that Christ said in Matthew 24, 24, as a sign of His coming is we get at the end of the age, He says false preachers would arise and they would show great signs and miracles in so much that if it were possible the very elect would be deceived in Christ’s on warning you aces in verse 25 of Matthew 24.

I tell you this before it happens. Don’t get tricked. In other words, in the last days, we’re not to expect genuine Christians to do signs and wonders. We’re to expect false preachers to do it and that’s exactly what’s happening. What’s that book you were talking about? It’s called the New Testament teaching on tongues by Merle Unger and we have it here. I think it’s a gift of fifteen dollars and we can chip it right up to you. It is an excellent teaching on times.

New Testament teaching on times by Merle Unger. He’s a very respected writer. I’ve got right in front of me here Unger’s commentary on the Old Testament. Excellent, excellent reference material. I’ve got his new, got his Bible dictionary. Excellent and well-known and well-respected dictionary. He’s written many, many books and this is one of the classics I think he’s written called The New Testament teaching on tongues any exegetes chapter 12, 13 and 14 of Corinthians it’s excellent. Is he the same hunger that has the Bible according?

Yep. Is that right? Yes, that’s correct. How old was this book been out? I can probably tell you in a second. Here I laid it down by my feet here and I’m picking it up and see what the copyright is on this particular book. so that he has a scriptural reparities and everything home my goes yeah absolutely verse by verse here on the counter analyst book is nineteen seventy one there’s a whole bunch of churches that are wrong that that’s correct you’re absolutely right So there’s a I was I get that how do I get that book called called back on our 800 number that’s for one of our operators in the bookstore in our recent With that being a Christian bookstore by the way or not mayor me not you know we have we stock it but I’m sure they could order it for you

But we have it right here available for you Okay, we’ll see there was new tongues new testament teaching on tons of teaching on tongues, okay, okay? Okay. Thank you Bill. Thank you. You know it’s interesting you know because I discovered what I got saved that there were so many things that I had been taught in my church that were wrong and I had to come to grips with that I had to choose either my church and its teachings or I had to choose the Bible and I think you know which direction I went I chose the Bible over my church and I realized as as time went along that I’ve been taught wrong on a lot of things.

And we were teasing at Christmastime how, for example, on angels. My goodness. There is no such thing in the Bible as a female angel. And yet, when you look at the angels that they hang on trees or the angels they sell in the mall and the angel collections that people have, they’re all female. They’re all female. I don’t know what they are. angels because angels are always male and angels don’t even have wings. There’s not a verse in the Bible that says angels have wings.

They’re always mistaken for men. When the two angels that came to destroy Son and walked into the city, they weren’t recognized as angels. In fact, the whole city lusted after them and they wanted to rape these men. They thought they were men. It turns out the next morning that those two men, angels, destroyed the whole sitting killed everybody there. So they were some tough guys, but they were they were not men. They were really angels. Thank you for that call.

We’re now going to cook in Chester, Virginia, and cook. Welcome to Bibleline. And you’re on the line. Hi, it’s Nelly. Nelly, I’m sorry. Oh, you’re in McKinley’s fell. Okay, good. How you doing, Nelly? Well, I haven’t done real good, but God God loves me. I’ve had a lot of surgery on my back and things. But I need you to help me out a little bit. I’m trying to teach what he tells me to teach and I’ve got a niece that’s very into being here.

And she thinks all these things, it’s laying her in its spirit and knocking her out in the floor is for real. And I’ve tried to show her in the book of Revelations, you know, where it says this stuff is not from the Lord. They can do great wonders, you know. I’m down that that’s all line wonders and I sure to hand the Bible but I just can’t I hate to see her Go to this man when he’s preaching false links Well, you know, we have a book here in our resource center called Christianity in Crycees by Hank Hennigraft and it really exposes you know Benny Henn believes there are nine members of the Trinity Yeah, that’s craziness and And a lot of people go to his meetings get hurt.

I have one fellow in our church here that was slain in the spirit, fell back against the pew and has permanent back injuries. We had another lady that went last year against her son’s wishes. He says, Mom, please don’t go. She fell back. She hit her arm against the pew and broke it between the elbow and the shoulder. She’s still recovering. And she was screaming, been pain, and they told her to shut up, and they took her out of the meeting because she was disturbing the meeting.

I think he should have healed her. If Benny had broken it, he should have fixed it. Exactly. And then she goes to one of the same kind of churches, and where the one comes every year and makes all this gold fall out of her hair. And I said, well, what is the need for that? I said, well, do me a favor. I know you’re tired of the time, but we could talk forever. I’d love it. I said, bring me some of this gold and let me see it.

I don’t believe it. And she did. She bought me, scooped some up and bought it. So I didn’t tell her. I took it up here to an old man. I know that’s else. He looked at it. And he said, why are you showing me this? I said, I won’t tell you what you tell me what this is. He said, the only thing I can see is this big gold ribbon that you can grind up. He said, but definitely I hope you’re not trying to buy some of this.

It’s not gold, it’s fake. So then I told him the story. and he may feel like because he is a southern Baptist man. But I didn’t want to tell him what it was, just see what he would say. So I went back to her and told her she said, well, I don’t guess he did recognize it. That’s not from this earth. I don’t know. Yeah, they just want to believe whatever they want to believe. Yeah, so I don’t know what they know.

But one more question I’d like to ask you because it kind of confused me. Where he says, how shall I be born again? I cannot go into my mother’s womb. And he tells him by water. Do you have to be baptized by water in order to be saved? No, no you don’t. That’s not talking about water baptism. It talks about a birth of water. And that is the natural birth when you’re enclosed in the mother’s womb in a sack of water.

When that water breaks, then out comes the baby. And that’s what it’s talking about. Well, I don’t think I’ve been baptized, but I was baptized in a Christian church. But I think it’s in other words, if you want to be baptized, you’re showing, you know, your faith in God. Exactly. testimony yeah and it’s hard for me i’m seventy three down and it’s hard for me to really understand everything and i just want to go to a so many people i’m sure died when they’re playing when the number of that were christians that maybe didn’t have a chance to be baptized and i said no that couldn’t be right that you had the date no he said just remember the dying thief he was never water baptized but yet Christ said today you’re going to be with me in paradise one more question i When you are the

Christians die, do they go directly up to heaven? Absolutely. Second Corinthians 5, 8 says absent from the body, present with the Lord. Because one verse, I don’t know where it is, it says the dead shall rise first, it’s in Christ. Yeah, that’s talking about the body. The body rises and meets the soul that’s alive in the present with the Lord. Do you have a church here in Richmond? I wish I did but no I’m down in Tampa is where I have.

Yeah I know you’re in Tampa but I wondered if you had one up this way. I don’t. No man. Well that’s a long way for me to come every day. I know. I love you. God bless you. Thank you Nellie. And unfortunately this whole slaying in the spirit thing is not biblical at all. In fact they’re probably telling us something. When I see people that fall backwards on the ground in the Bible they’re unsaved. That’s right. Maybe they’re telling us without even realizing it, that they’re not saved.

Read John 18, you have Christ in the Garden of Yosemite, you have all the soldiers coming to apprehend him and he comes out and says, who are you looking for? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth, when he gives his divine name, he says, I am. They all fell backward, right on their back sides, right down on the ground. They were all in saved soldiers. They didn’t know the Lord. I believe because you can’t find an example of saved people experiencing this, that this in the Bible is a tip off to us when you see people being slain in the Spirit so called, which is unbiblical, that you actually have unsaved people doing this.

So all those people that fall down, I believe, are not saved. I really believe that the Lord has let us see that in the Bible so you can recognize that they don’t know the Lord as their Savior. This is Bibleline. I’m Dr. Ankel Enstrom. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. And we have numerous calls here that are off air. We have Ken in Illinois. He says, would like to know when you are in Israel, will you have taped programs through your daily program?

If so, would you do a whole program teaching for us how to be an effective witness for our Lord. Well, that’s a great suggestion Ken, and we’re going to hope to do some reports from Israel every day and we’ll just see how that all works out. We obviously will be prepared to do that. I believe if we can get a clear line back to the states we ought to be able to produce programs and you’ll hear some fresh stuff right from the land where Jesus was born and lived and died and purchased our salvation.

So we’re going to do our best. Ken in Illinois is concerned about when we leave for March next month that we’ll have some exciting material for him to listen to in Illinois. We’ll try. We’re going to do our best. And thank you for calling in. It says here, off here, Jack in Venice, Florida calls in. He says, I love your article, Eternal Salvation. Could I please explain Revelation 2-5? And it’s talking there about not losing salvation, but it’s talking about having your candlestick or lampstand removed.

You know, each church in Revelation chapter 2 and 3 was a lamp. And prophetically, they pictured church history for us. And the first church there described by the church The word Ephesus in the Greek means desirable, that this church was desirable. It was fervent in their faith and in their works. And Jesus, of course, evaluates them, but He says, I have somewhat against me because you’ve left your first love. What He warned about, unless they would change their mind, that He would remove their candlestick.

That means that their opportunity, their privilege to be a witness for Christ would be removed. Then he moved to the next church age called by the church at Samarna. A time of persecution and being a witness for Christ and so on and so on, but it’s never a loss of salvation.SPONSORED Each church did lose their privilege as they drifted away after a period of time, but they never lost salvation which cannot be lost. So notice there’s a division in them when you rightly divide the word of truth between the Christian life and the candle or the church was is talking about their witness and you can live with them.

lose your witness, but you can’t lose your salvation. And so we need to be alert to that. In any case, we hope that you will take a look at our website. We have some wonderful books we mentioned today. The New Testament Teaching on Tongues by Merle Unger in our Resource Center. We can ship that out to you. The wonderful book by Hal Lindsey called The Everlasting Hatred. That title comes right out of the Bible. It really explains what’s going on in the world today with this hatred in the Middle at the end of the whole world.

You’ll want to get that book. It’s the best probably research book that Hellen’s ever done. And many others that we have. We’re going to have to run and join us again tomorrow. And I hope you have a wonderful day, and we’ll see you tomorrow morning. God willing. God bless. Have a great day. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming.
