I have a new track that I have produced that I’ve written called Am I Going to Heaven? It has 20 questions on here that deal with the current terms that are being used today, and it’s really one that is very effective, I think, in leading people to Christ. I shared this track with a young lady last week, and as she read over, I said all 20 of those that are offered there for you to check as to what you think you might have to you to heaven are wrong.

And she said, is it wrong to follow Jesus? That was one of the choices. And I said, no, it’s not wrong to follow Jesus, but you don’t get to heaven by following Jesus, you get to heaven by trusting Jesus. Well, anyway, we have an answer to why each of these terms are wrong, including let Jesus into your heart or commit your life to Jesus Christ or get your life turned around or surrender your life or make Christ the Lord of your life.

All of those terms are used in this track. It’s a wonderful track to really bring clarification to somebody who’s already saved and also, of course, bring the gospel to somebody who is lost. We offer these in our Resource Center. You can get them and use them in your evangelism. And we also have several other tracks. It’s really terrific. We have a lot of videos with each one covering one particular doctrine for a half hour or some of them for an hour and those are available.

We also have of course lots of resources on the Bible. That great one that we talk about all the time is the book on evangelism. That just tells you how to evangelize. Makes it very, very clear telling you how to open your mouth and carry on the conversation and so on. If you have your Bible, get it out. We’ll take a look at some verses. You’re going to begin by looking at Romans 4, 5, a verse that absolutely startled me the first time I saw it.

Romans 4, 5 says, but to him that worketh not. Boy, hard for me to believe that since I was raised in a church that taught us we had to work our way to heaven. This verse says to the person who does not work, but believe it, that word means to trust if you would trust. trust on Christ who justifies us who are the ungodly, his faith or your faith in Jesus Christ would be counted for righteousness. Now we have to be righteous to go to heaven and we’re not.

We’re all sinners and we’ve all come short of the glory of God. But Romans 4 and 5 says in order to be able to enter God’s presence that we have to be righteous. And to the one who doesn’t work at all but would believe or trust on Christ as the one who made the payment for their sin at the cross of Calvary, God says his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. Let me read the verse again. Romans 4-5 says, but to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifyeth the ungodly, his faith that is his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness.

Wow, if your faith was counted for righteousness, could you be sure of going to heaven? The answer would be yes, of course, because if If God counts you as righteous, obviously you can enter heaven. And in fact, when the Bible talks about the righteous versus the wicked, it’s talking about believers versus unbelievers. Because all the righteous are believers and that’s how they are made righteous in the God’s sight. It’s not by our works that were righteous. Our righteousnesses are as filthy rags, Isaiah 64, 6.

But the very righteousness of God is required for heaven. $, Jesus died so that we could have His righteousness credited to our account. the Bible formula is, and here are three points, if you want to write them down, and that’s Romans four or five. It says number one, in order to be saved, you have to come to the place where you work not, or recognize you cannot save yourself. Isn’t that what happened with the dying thief? Why, he came to the place where he realized that he was dying, he could not save himself, and he looked to Christ to save him.

And Jesus told him today, that will be with me in Paradise, Luke 23, 43. So the dying thief obviously could not work. He He couldn’t join the church, he couldn’t walk down the aisle, he couldn’t be water baptized, he couldn’t be confirmed, he couldn’t attend mass, he couldn’t do anything hardly, he was dying. And in the last seconds of his life he believed on Christ and Jesus said today, thou shalt be with me in paradise. So you have to come to the place where you recognize you cannot work your way to heaven.

Secondly, number two, is you have to believe or trust in Christ and the work that he performed at the cross, which is the means by which we’re saved. you trust Christ as your Savior, God up in heaven saves you. And notice the consequence, point number three, is that your faith in Christ is counted for the righteousness that you need in order to be a living in heaven. You know, I remember taking a life-saving course and I was told that if somebody were drowning, that the last thing you wanted to do was enter the water without drowning swimmer.

Because why? That drowning swimmer might grab you in a death hole grip and there’d be two people that would drown. So you didn’t want that to happen. So they said you should extend a pole or throw a rope or throw out a life preserver, some type of a flotation device, something that they could grab onto in order to be able to rescue them. As a last resort, you would enter the water with a drowning swimmer. But then what was so interesting is that they said when you approached a drowning swimmer, you have to be very cautious.

And as he is struggling and fighting and so on, he could be a danger to you and you could drown also. So the old time technique was you would get real close and you’d get an opportunity and then you’d pull like your fist and you’d pop this guy in the mouth. And that’s a terrible trick to pull on a drowning swimmer. The point was that you had to get that fellow to stop struggling in order for you to be able to rescue the person.

The modern technique is a little more subtle. You come out near the drowning swimmer, I understand, and then you kind of go underwater and pull the guy underwater. You said, well, wait a minute. You don’t want to do that to a drowning swimmer. Well, apparently what you need to do is get this guy to stop struggling. As long as he is fighting and struggling and thrashing, you are in danger of drowning. And the same thing is true about salvation.

As long as we’re struggling and working and trying to earn our way to heaven, then we’re in trouble. We need to stop and recognize we cannot save ourselves and simply trust in Christ as the drowning swimmer who would trust in the lifeguard or in the person coming to save him. And then, of course, the result will be that you’ll be saved. I love a phrase by Dr. Ermard Ahan who is now in heaven with the Lord. He founded the radio Bible class which you can still hear on the air and they produce a wonderful devotional booklet that we use here in our church called Our Daily Bread.

But Dr. Ermard Ahan said, God will not save a man who is trying to be saved. God will not save a man who is trying to be saved. And then he went on to say, but he will only save a man who is trusting to be saved. So as long as you are trying to save yourself, God cannot save you. As long as you are struggling and working and climbing and trying to gain heaven by your works and by your deeds, God can’t save you.

God will not save a man who is trying to be saved, but God will only save a man who is trusting to be saved. So as long as you are trying, you won’t be saved. You have to come to the place where you say, I can’t save myself. I’m lost. God be merciful to me, a sinner, and simply trust in the finished work of Christ, and then God saves you. And that’s the formula here in Romans 4, 5, and nobody has ever been saved any differently than we find outlined in this verse.

It says in Romans 4, 5, but to him that does not work. But believeth on Christ who justifies those that are ungodly. That’s us. His faith or our faith in Christ is counted then for righteousness. And by the way, in this chapter, it talks about the Old Testament believers were saved the same way. It says verse six, even as David, that’s talking about the King David, The Shepherd King David, the one who killed Goliath, it says in verse 6, even as David also describes the blessedness, the happiness of the man under whom God imputed righteousness.

And it says without works, without works, without works, without works. David knew about the salvation that God offers without works. It’s by faith in Christ. And David, by the way, believed that Jesus would come future and pay for sin. That’s right. If you’ve ever heard the 22nd Psalm, it’s quite remarkable. A thousand years before Jesus ever came, David talked about the crucifixion and tells about how Christ would have His hands in His feet pierced. Even telling details such as that they would gamble for His cloak, Psalm 22 16 and then Psalm 22 18 talks about how they would cast lots for His garment.

A thousand years before Jesus ever came, it told that His hands in His feet would be pierced. No wonder people loved the 23rd Psalm where David went on to say that the Lord was his shepherd, that he had trusted in the shepherd that gave his life for the sheep, and David was saved, and David said, therefore, I will not want. Then he sent in verse 6, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will.

None I hope, not perhaps, not maybe, but I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. So David went to heaven because he believed in the shepherd that gave his life for the sheep that he described in chapter 22 as going to the cross, having his hands and his feet pierced and having the soldiers at the foot of the cross gamble for his cloak. Amazing. Well, I hope you’re saved. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior because as long as you’re struggling to save yourself, and I know a lot of you will say, well, I have to join the church.

I have to be faithful with my church attendance. I have to live the Christian life. I have to be water baptized. I have to, and the list goes on and on and on and on. And God says, as long as you’re trusting in those things, you’re not going to be able be saved. You have to come to the place where you realize I cannot do one thing to save myself and like the dying thief simply trusts Christ to save you.

In the moment you do that, God will do that. He’ll save you. All right. I think we’re going to try to get some phone calls up on the air here. All right. I heard a phone ring, but apparently we lost that call. I’m going to turn to Ephesians 2 8, which says essentially the same thing as Romans 4 5 that we just covered. In Ephesians 2 8 it says, by grace, grace meaning mercy and merit in favor. Are you saved through faith?

That is faith in Jesus Christ. And then it says, and that none of yourself, the salvation is none of yourself, it is the gift of God. And in verse 9 it says, it’s not of works. What’s the name of the man should boast? What a grand verse. Boy, when I first saw this verse I didn’t know a thing about the Bible. I’d been raised in church but I didn’t know a thing about the Bible. And when they read the verse for my grace, I thought who is she?

And my mother’s name was Grace. And I I learned the meaning of grace for the first time. It means mercy and merited favor. And the Bible is saying here by grace, by mercy and merited favor, are you saved through faith, faith in Christ? And this salvation is none of yourself. It is the gift of God. And in verse nine it says, it’s not of works. Most any man should boast. And when I saw that phrase, not of works, I’ll never forget the impact it had upon me.

Because my church taught that you had to work your way to heaven and here the Bible said you could not be saved your works, it was not of works. And I realized real quickly there didn’t take me long to figure this one out. Somebody was wrong. Either my church was right and the Bible was wrong or the Bible was right and my church was wrong. I had to make a choice. It was the decision time. And I made the decision to believe the Bible over my church.

And that was of course the correct decision to make. A lot of churches teach works for salvation, sometimes very subtly. But you can never be saved by your works. It’s not of works. Let’s then even mention boast or brag. And yet there are those who will say, well, you’ve got to do these things. And then they’ll boast about the fact that they’re doing them. And you know the Bible says that one day that group will stand before Jesus. And they’ll boast and brag.

And it says in Matthew 7, 22, Many will stand before the Lord and say, Lord, Lord, didn’t we preach in your name? They’re bragging. Didn’t we heal in your name? They’re bragging. Didn’t we do many wonderful works in your name? They’re bragging. And what does Christ say? I never knew you. I never knew you. Not a… Not once do you know I lost you. That’s impossible. Once you’re saved, you’re stuck. You have to go to heaven when you like it or not.

But he says, I never knew you. Depart from me into everlasting fire. You know the lost will be separated from God forever. And many of them are what we would consider good people, religious people, people who do good works in the name of Christ, people who preach in the name of Christ and people that heal in the name of Christ. And Jesus said if you’re doing that to earn your salvation, sorry, you won’t make it into heaven. The only way you can enter heaven is to come to the place where you don’t work or recognize you cannot work to be saved and simply trust in the finished work of Christ.

This is Bible and I’m Dr. Anglin Stu. We have Eric on the line and Eric is calling in from Tampa. Welcome. How are you doing? Good. So you want some verses? I think your radio is a little bit high. It’s certain if you did. So you want verses on salvation not being of works? Yes. Well, there’s a ton of them. I’ll give you a couple to write down here. I like Romans 3.28 where it says, therefore we conclude is the conclusion of the first three chapters of the book of Romans.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without without without the deeds of the law then Romans 4 5 that we just covered how that When you recognize you cannot work to be saved, but trust Christ then God counts your faith in Christ for righteousness and then I love Romans 5 1 that says therefore being justified by faith by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ and And we, you know, if you go on and on, Titus 3-5 is a good one.

Not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us. So let me just encourage you to maybe start with those and build your list there. Eric, we’re feeding back here for some reason. Is your radio up loud or what? I can’t… Yeah, I believe so. I can’t come in and out. Yeah. Well, I hope that helped. I’m sorry, I think your radio is a little bit too high and we can’t do that.

And I think we’re feeding back over here as well. That was Eric in Tampa. All right, this is Bible on. We’re now going to go to Jerry in Plant City and Jerry, welcome to Bibleline Year on the Year. Yes, Governor Hank, I don’t know if anyone’s called in on the year or not. Revival that’s going on over there and like them. Let’s move over to Tiger Stadium, I believe. I just wanted to throw out all these revivals that sing open time to time.

And what is the criteria for a true revival? And do you believe that any of them is of God and now hang out in? Sir, you’re very welcome. And I believe that’s totally false. I have gone on the internet and took a look at some of that. But it says in my Bible in Matthew 24, Jesus tells us what it would be like just before he would return. And what does Jesus say? In the last days, just before He would return, He says in Matthew 24, 24, there shall arise false Christ and false preachers.

And they shall show great signs and miracles, and it tells us here that in so much that if it were possible they’ll deceive genuine believers, the very elect. And Jesus says in verse 25, which I think is very significant, I’ve given you two thousand of mourning. He says, behold, I have told you before. He says, I’m telling you this before it ever happens that when you see the signs and wonders of the last days that it’s not coming from God, false preachers would do signs and wonders.

I would be suspect of anybody that claims to do signs and wonders in the last days because the Bible says that false preachers would do signs and wonders, not genuine believers. And I think we have this counterfeit out there of signs and wonders that is really the in time fulfillment of Christ prophecy here we find also in the book of Revelation that Satan would use miracles to deceive those which dwell on the earth and that Satan has the power He said, I’m going to do miracles.

And that’s in numerous places in the book of Revelation. But I’m going to quote one of the passage. And this is in 2 Thessalonians where it talks about the Antichrist. And it tells us here that the Antichrist then shall that wicked one be revealed whom the Lord shall destroy with the Spirit of his mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming. Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs. and lying miracles.

So here it tells us that signs and miracles would be done by Satan and also by the Antichrist. And we know in Matthew 24, 24 Christ says it would be false preachers doing the miracle gifts of the last days. So I think this is a big counterfeit. And the easy way to check is find out what they actually teach about salvation. And the Bible tells us to do the Ronomy 13 that if a preacher promise a miracle and the miracle come to pass, he says, don’t listen to that preacher even if he can perform a miracle if his message doesn’t agree with the word of God.

And so it says reject that preacher based upon his message and if his message is not an agreement with the word of God you’re not to follow that preacher even though he can promise and a miracle take place. You know Satan can do miracles. A lot of people don’t realize that Satan can do miracles and the Bible tells us he will do miracles and has done miracles and and we’ll do them in the last days and that’s what we’re seeing I think happening today.

We’re going to mark in Pinellas Park and Mark, welcome to my room. Hey, good morning. Thank you for taking my call. Hey, I believe like you do that we’re justified by faith alone, but I just wanted to hear your thoughts on what I read the New Testament. Most of the single conversions that are covered there are followed immediately by a water baptism. And, you know, I’m not pressing that water baptism is mandatory or not, But I just noticed that in the New Testament, after Jesus had arrived, that when someone was, when they accepted Him as their Savior, they were baptized immediately.

And I just, I don’t hear you talk about that much and I just wanted to see if. Yeah, I think every believer ought to be water baptized. There are two ordinances that the Lord left and water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two and every believer ought to be water baptized once by immersion as a testimony of their faith in Jesus Christ, that they’ve been cleansed by the blood of Christ, the water doesn’t do it. But I believe it’s also an open declaration of the new believer that now he wants to walk in the news of life and is now going to proclaim Christ the rest of his life.

So I think if you read carefully, usually the person like in Acts chapter 8, have the Ethiopian eunuch and he’s exact he desires to be baptized I think he wants to follow in the believers baptism and and so I think sometimes that the person needs to recognize what’s taking place so we like to at least at our church have a little bit of instruction as to what it’s all about and and then have a water baptized I think we’ve baptized you know 60 or more last year by immersion and we’ve got a bunch more people on the list to be baptized now.

We’re waiting for this cool weather to ease up a little bit because we use a swimming pool and do it outdoors at different church members homes and we like the outdoors as it seems to be more biblical to get outside. And I’ve baptized, on all my trips to Israel, 13 different trips I’ve led people over there baptized in the Jordan River. And that’s a wonderful experience to do it there. Wow. white in the Jordan River. But you know in Matthew 28 in the Great Commission, it says that we are to go and the word teach there is the Greek word for disciple, word of disciple nation.

So it implies there that we go from salvation to making a disciple of someone and then it says baptize them which is the disciples. So I think there needs to be a little bit of instruction here where the person is really saying, I’m going to know publicly declared that I am saved by the blood of Jesus by being water baptized and make a statement that I’m also now going to live for Christ and continue to proclaim him all the days of my life.

So that’s my view is that I think it’s just more than a reflection backward, but I think it’s a look forward that we’re going to proclaim Christ and we’re going to be open about it and we’re willing to give an open testimony, especially for the Jew. That was a real big event, you know, because the Jews baptized for everything. And when a Jewish person was baptized, that was a real statement to his family and other Jews that he now was clearly declaring his faith in Jesus Christ.

And in Jewish families to this day, many times they’ll ostracize you and they’ll even have a mock funeral to say you’re dead now that you’ve deserted the Jewish faith when you are water baptized. So it’s a powerful testimony. So you would say that if I’m leading someone to Christ, I would make it clear that you’re justified by your faith in Christ and then maybe your first active obedience is baptism and then open the New Testament and say, and here’s why I think that’s the case and then show them the different examples in the New Testament.

I would go with that 100% yeah that’s exactly right. Okay, alright thanks for taking my call. I listen to you, I’m in and I have cars all day at work and then I’m constantly, I catch a little bit here and there. and i believe the way you do that we’re justified by faith and we can’t really do anything on our own you know but i just i needed it i want to make sure it’s clear my head of the difference between the two and that baptism was was i mean i don’t want to say mandatory that’s kind of a strong word but well if you believe her for the believer uh…

every believer is is commanded to be baptized because we’re really commanded to be disciples to but a lot of christians don’t ever become disciples unfortunately and they there are many i’m sure that are water baptize but yet they would still be safe the dying thief never got baptized but there’s a level of importance here i think first green things one seventeen helps give a little perspective because of the misuse of the baptism all talk about that when you get back from the break i hear that music so uh…

thanks for calling and we’ll talk about that and after the break and after the break of dr and instrument is by blind and we are going to go to break don’t change that radio now i’ll be right back in just a moment to answer your question your bible A Bibleline will be back in a moment to pledge your support for Bibleline. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. England Sherman. It’s exciting to be with you and we sure appreciate you, our audience.

I look forward to being with you each and every day. And we’re excited about what kind of doing through Bibleline. You know, our internet is reaching out all over the world. I read a portion of a letter yesterday from a pastor in Central Africa in a French-speaking former colony of France. He has been enjoying Bible-ign and would like to take our resources and have his translating committee translate those things into French and use them there in the French-speaking countries in Africa.

Isn’t that exciting? We have been getting correspondence from East Africa, West Africa, South Africa, North Africa, and of course, for countries around the world. We’re excited about what God is doing and we pray that you will pray that the Lord will continue to use Bible and in a mighty way to reach people from all over the world. We had just last month 14,500 people that watched just that seven minute video at the beginning of our website presentation. If you go to our website BibleLineMinistries.org, the first thing you’ll see is that 7 minute video which will tell you how to be saved.

Well just last month 14,500 people watched that. I’m amazed and we have thousands of people visiting our site every month from all around the world and I hope that you’ll take advantage of our website as well. We have our radio programs click on the spinning globe. We have our television programs click on the TV set. We have our worship services, click on the camera. We have our online bookstore, click on the online bookstore. We have articles I’ve written, click on that button.

We have so much and I think you’ll really enjoy. In any case, we thank God for every one of you who are listening because it’s people just like you who keep Bible on the air because it’s your gifts that make Bible on possible. Would you consider giving this month a gift to my blind? You can do that. Just call the 800 number 1-800-576-3771 and you can give a gift by credit card over the phone or you can call in and ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it.

Thank God for you and God bless you. And we appreciate every one of you who listen and pray for Bibleline ministries. Well, we’re gonna go back and rejoin stations and have been on break into the second half hour of Bibleline in just a moment.

So keep your radio tuned right where it is and we’ll come right back into a second half hour. And I hope you’ll tell your friends to listen to Bibleline as we do part two of Bibleline. Continue in your area. You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom.

All right, we’re back from that break, and this is by the line and… We were talking about baptism there and in 1 Corinthians 117 there had been an abuse of baptism at Corinth where some were saying I’m better than you are because I was baptized by Peter and others would say no I’m I’m better than you are because Paul baptized me and so on and because of that Paul said I thank God that I baptized none of you and but just a couple of families and that certainly lets us know that water baptism has nothing to do with salvation or Paul would be saying in 1 Corinthians 114 I thank God none of you are saved because if water baptism were required for salvation, that’s exactly what he’d be saying.

He’d be saying, I thank God none of you are saved. But then he says, to give us some order of importance here, he says, Christ sent me not to baptize but to preach the gospel. And so the gospel obviously brings a person to salvation when they believe the wonderful message of the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ. And then the ordinances are at a lower level of importance because obviously if you don’t get saved we could baptize you every day and you’d still go to hell.

So baptism has to do with the Christian life. And over in 1 Corinthians 11 Paul admonishes the believers at Corinth to observe and to keep the two ordinances that he describes in the book of Corinthians which are water baptism in chapter 1 and in the Lord’s Supper he describes in chapter 11. So we obviously ought to do that as believers in our Christian walk, but if you don’t get salvation right, nothing counts. I mean you’ve wasted your effort to be baptized if you are trusting in that to be saved or in your works to be saved because you won’t be saved at all.

So obviously we need to recognize that Christ sent me not to baptize Paul said verse 17 of chapter 1 of Corinthians, but he sent me to preach the gospel. So the gospel brings about salvation. Then Paul addresses the issues of the Christian life and how the believers ought to keep the two ordinances that were given. Hopefully that helps a little bit. We’re going to go to David in Clearwater and David is waiting patiently here on the line. David, welcome to the line.

Hello? Yes. Hi. I had a question for you. I’ve only listened to you. I think it’s Friday. You were talking about Genesis and the creation of the world and I’m not sure if I heard you right you were I think you said that you were like evolved from a dinosaur or something like that towards the end after the Holy Spirit stirred over the earth and warmed it up again. No I didn’t say we evolved from dinosaurs but man was created.

You were a dinosaur huh? Did you say that you were a dinosaur? No I never said that. I said that we used fossil fuels today and there was there used to be gas stations that had a dinosaur out on their logo that we were eating rather eating drink. In our gas tanks, we were eating and drinking fossil fuels. That’s what makes our world go today. And so the dinosaurs were killed. And a lot of those dinosaurs and other animal life were trapped in pockets underneath the earth, much of which is underneath the desert sands in the Middle East.

And those are the fossil fuels we’re using today. Right. OK, I understood that part. but man was created out of the dust of the ground completely separate apart from any animal dinosaur or any other life or my man was created special and separate okay maybe i was here and because i could have for that you say that um… did you think you have a dinosaur no no okay i i understand about the dinosaurs i’m i’m that first part of it too i’ve never read that in jennison uh…

as far as the earth being millions years old with people don’t know it doesn’t say that it doesn’t say it’s means of years old says in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth may be a smith understood the whole thing but uh… because a lot of your answers agree with that this was really concerned with about that i’m calling for lots only no uh… i’m not a dinosaur that’s been made over into a human now alright a um…

one more question did you did you say that the earth was here in that like the oceans broke up and killed all those. Air-breathing mammals. I believe that the Earth was judged in Genesis 1-2. Isaiah 45-18 says God did not create the Earth, void or vein. The same Hebrew word is used. And so therefore, I believe what happened in verse 2 was a judgment upon the original creation of the Earth, which had plants, animals, dinosaurs. They were in that original creation.

And NASA says, if we were to believe NASA for a source, that 65 million years ago is when the dinosaurs were killed. say it was by that asteroid that struck in the area of the Yucatan Peninsula and that it threw up so much debris into the atmosphere that the atmosphere was darkened and the sunlight was cut off and that is what we attribute the ice ages to. Dr. Hank Lindstrom. And it’s interesting at the end of verse 2 in Genesis where it says the darkness was upon the face of the deep, the earth was flooded.

That it says the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. When that word moved, actually is a Hebrew word that means to incubate, to brood upon. So apparently the Holy Spirit warmed up the earth, thawed out the earth from the ice ages. And then in seven days, just maybe 6,000 years ago, God made the earth reappointed it for a new purpose. And this time He puts man on the planet. in that year philosophy from what the scripture says?

Yeah, I believe so. In fact, Jeremiah, and I believe apparently the prophets were caught forward in the time, as John the Apostle was, and he saw that feature tribulation period in the millennial reign of Christ, that some of the prophets were also captured backward in the time. And that’s possible, I believe, if God operates in more dimensions than the four that we are living in. But in Jeremiah chapter 4, it is a description there of Jeremiah being apparently taken back in time and he sees the earth after it had been judged.

And it says in verse 23 of Jeremiah 4, Jeremiah says, I beheld, he was an eyewitness. He says I beheld the earth and lo, it was without form and void. That’s exactly the way we find it in Genesis 1, 2. And it says the heavens, they had no light. That’s exactly what we read in Genesis 1, 2. And then it describes here how that there was no life on the planet, that the mountains, they trembled, the hills moved, and it says, I beheld and there was no man.

Man was not on the planet as yet. All the birds of the heaven were fled. And it says here in verse 26, I beheld and though the fruitful place was the wilderness and all the cities were broken down at the presence of the Lord and by His fierce anger. Now, we don’t know of any incident that would meet that description except a judgment upon the earth and the justice one too. I believe the cities here are angelic cities that were destroyed and they may be at the bottoms of the oceans today.

Scientists believe that the exposed surfaces today were once the bottoms of the oceans, or perhaps the bottoms of the oceans were once the land surface prior to the flood. I know that you can find seashells on the top of Pike’s Peak out in Denver in Colorado. And so obviously the North American continent was once underwater and perhaps there are cities today still to be discovered that are broken down that were in the angelic cities. There might be something to the myths that are out there like the lost continent of Atlantis.

Maybe the what was underneath the Atlantic Ocean was the landmass and maybe there are broken down remains of angelic cities sitting at the way at the bottom that have laid undiscovered us. Right. Okay. You said that was Jeremiah 4? 4 verses 23 on and it describes here Jeremiah says that he beheld, he actually appears as a witness here to have gone back in time. Low it says the earth was without form and void, that’s the way we find it in Genesis 1 2 and it says the heavens low they had no light, so the heavens were dark and it talks about there was no man on the planet and how that God had judged the earth with his presence and by his fierce anger and i don’t know of another incident when we have it like this uh…

described so i believe it is the uh… the flood of uh… genesis one to well that is my mind quite a bit i appreciate your time all right now i don’t believe in evolution and i’m not uh… uh… the end of some uh… you know conveyor belt where god is uh… starting off with uh… apes or monkeys and and here we are okay sir thank you all right uh… may have heard the story about the little boy though he said mom did we come from uh…

monkeys and apes and she thought for a moment she says you know i don’t know i’m never did know your father’s folks very well anyway that’s a that’s what’s the funny okay some of your laughing out there are this is bible and and we’re having fun i hope you’re enjoying the program and uh… we’re coming to daily money through friday here on bible and uh… we believe the bible is the word of god we believe that god created the universe and that uh…

he created man apart from all the rest of his creation as a special being and that he breathed his nostrils of the birth of life after he created him from the dust of the earth and what is interesting is it’s very scientific the bible talks about how we’re created from the dust of the earth and scientists have discovered that the dust of the earth is comprised of sixteen basic elements and also that the human body is comprised of sixteen basic elements and guess what they’re the same sixteen we have other trace elements but there are sixteen basic elements that make up the human body and uh…

i uh… copied them down out of the scientific article where i read that and uh… here they are not in my bible but they’re in my notes because i took Hi, how are you? Good. Listen, I have a question for you. I was on the radio and I heard a couple of preachers talking about eucalyptus salvation. And I heard a couple of preachers talking about eucalyptus salvation. And I heard a couple of preachers talking about eucalyptus salvation. I thought it would be good for you maybe to address a couple of these scriptures for myself and others as well.

And I have John chapter 15 verses 6, 7, and 8. You know, it’s a parable of the vine. You know. being cast out on our first Corinthians 10 through 12. I mean, chapter 10, verse 12. Sure. Okay. I don’t want to be labor and just Hebrews chapter 3 verse 12. Okay. You could touch on those. I’ll try to do that for you. And that seems to be some of the thrust going on. You know, and they were also not using the King James.

Well, you know, they don’t rightly divide the word of truth. And in John 15, Christ is there talking about Christian in the Christian life and about fruit bearing, not about how to be saved. And what he’s talking about here is not loss of salvation, but the loss of rewards and your testimony and your effectiveness. So he says in verse 6, if any man abide not in me, and you have to define the terms from the context here, and the person abiding in Christ is one who is loyally following as the disciple of Christ.

He says in verse 10, if you keep my commandments, then you shall abide. And so if we are obeying the commandments of Christ, then we’re abiding in him. And so for disobeying as a believer and not following his instructions and not living the Christian life, then we’re cast forth as a branch and we’re withered. And the key word here says men, men, not God, men, gav of them cast them into the fire and they’re burned. It’s talking about your testimony is worthless.

And so men discount it and they count it just as trash and as something worthy to be put on the trash heap and be burned. They’re not talking about loss of salvation. And but in any case that’s what it’s talking about. It’s talking about bearing fruit. And the loss would be the loss of testimony. It talks about in Matthew about salt, where the salt to the earth and if the salt loses its savour, it’s good for nothing but to be trodden under the feet of men.

And of course, again, if we don’t have a testimony, well, we’re impacting other people. As salt, obviously, is very important when we eat that has an impact upon our food. If you try to eat stuff that has no salt, you know the difference. And we are to be impacting others, and if we don’t, then we have no testimony at all but to be trodden under the foot of men. But as far as God is concerned, you’re safe forever. In 1 Corinthians 10, the second one that you asked about, it talks about in verse 12, and I’m almost there, it says in verse 12, wherefore let him think if he stands to think he lives to fall, and of course, he’s not talking about falling from salvation, but other passages talk about falling from our steadfastness, falling from our confidence, and that’s what is talking about.

Christian can lose his assurance, lose his confidence, lose his effectiveness and so on, and lose his testimony, but he cannot lose his salvation. And nowhere here does it imply that the believers will lose his salvation, but it tells us even as in the Old Testament earlier that God was upset with 23,000 Christians in the wilderness and took their lives in one day. So you can go to heaven early. The Lord might chase in you and take you out of this world, of this world, but you cannot lose your salvation.

So if you fall away from the Lord, that can happen. And the result will be loss of reward and you’ll incur God’s discipline upon your life. And then the third one is in Hebrews chapter 3, and there it talks about the children in the wilderness and it says, take heed, brethren, lest there be an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. Well, Jonah departed from the living God. What happened to him? He was a prophet of God and the Lord chastened him and everybody on shipboard through him overboard and then he gave him a ride in a fishes belly and finally had him vomit up on the shore and said, John, you know, get busy with what you’re supposed to be doing here.

So he departed from the living God. He even paid passage on that ship from Japa, apparently to the furthest destination he could book his passage on. No doubt. But it’s not talking about loss of salvation here. It’s just talking about loss of reward, loss of testimony, and maybe even the loss of your life. And the children in the Israel of Israel died in the wilderness, never ever experiencing the Promised Land, which is a picture of a victorious Christian life, and not heaven.

And so they never got to even reach that because they died in the wilderness. They just wandered around fully died. And a lot of Christians are in that same category. They just wander around not accomplishing much for God at all. And they never experience what God has intended for them to enjoy here in the way of God’s blessings and joy in their life because they are not living for the Lord. But no loss of salvation here or anywhere. Obviously you have to interpret all the difficult passages in the light of a clear one.

John 637, Jesus said, him that comeeth to me, I will have no wise cast out in the story. So as far as being saved, we come to Christ, and then he promises he’ll never cast us out for any reason. What was that scripture? John 637. That’s the beauty. It’s great, yeah. John 637. Thank you, Bob. All right, Bob, thank you. Bob and Sarah Sutter, thank you again, all of you who gifted Bible and we need your regular weekly and monthly support without you.

We could not be on the air. Sometimes I get a little bit nervous, because we don’t have a reserve we don’t have a piggy bank uh… you know if the money doesn’t come in we can’t pay the bill and if you ever go if we ever go off the year you want to happen well that’ll be the answer we just didn’t have it and so we require uh… you know uh… your help and and and and that’s the way got intended you know as we partner together god will give you fruit that is a result of this ministry Because Paul said that in Philippians 419, he says, not that I desire a gift as he talked about giving to the people at Philippide, he says, but I desire fruit that may abound in your account, Philippians 419.

Wow, what a concept. You know, when you give to the Lord’s work, you will benefit not only in God’s blessing you here in this life, but also you’re laying up treasures in heaven. I had a missionary tell me once, he says, You know, my wife and I used to take 10 years to lay up a year’s salary in heaven. Obviously he’s talking about a tie, isn’t he? And he says, since we now are retired and we have our fixed expenses, we have decided to speed that up.

And so now he says it takes us five years to lay up a year’s salary in heaven. And wow, I thought that was an interesting way of presenting what he was doing there, But obviously he’s giving 20 percent. Now you don’t have to give anything to be saved. Christ gave His life for us so that we can be saved. But you know, if we’re a believer, we ought to be thinking about eternity and God wants to reward us. He wants to bless us.

And some will be ashamed and have no reward. But as a believer, wouldn’t you want to have the Lord say, well done, good and faithful servant and have done things that God can reward and bless and lay up treasure in heaven as He’s told us? Well, anyway, thank God for all of you who have been giving to Bible and because that’s why we’re still on the air. And we’re praying that we can go further beyond this market and maybe to the whole nation, wouldn’t it be great if we could bring Bible and to all of America?

Because I believe that we are reaching people that are lost with the gospel. I believe we’re a challenge to believers to get into the Bible and start living for Christ and sharing the message. I believe we’re also kidding people to be more clear in their presentation because a lot of Christianity today is very muddy, very sloppy. The message is very confused and people obviously therefore are going to be not able to understand what they must do in order to be saved unless somebody clarifies it.

We believe that we’re an instant resource too for your Bible questions. So I think Bible is a valuable ministry in my opinion and all of our listeners apparently I think so too because of them we’re still on the air. God bless all of you who give. just for a quick glance and that’s for a gift of a dollar and a half Maybe you could afford to get a resource like that and help my blind. We’re going to now talk to Joyce in Clearwater. Joyce… Joyce, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, sir. Isn’t this beautiful weather in the Lord? Oh, I’m telling you. Well, my question goes along pretty much what the other callers have been talking about salvation. So if you’ll turn to Galatians 5-4, please. All right, Christ has become of no effect unto you.

Okay. No. the verse well now we uh… we’ve talked about the about the nation being a merited grace yes and it’s from god so op after really did throw it to curve he said okay here we are you are falling from grace and how many people either this is true of course you know how do you know how do you guys have to do and then he went on to say in this case it’s true so i’m just going to ask your interpretation i want your feedback here your point of view all right i will be glad to do that you know uh…

joist is talking to unbelievers inverse for instance christ is become of no effect on you and then notice it addresses those that are lost who’s whoever view are justified by the law if you’re going to be saved by the commandments that were given about sign i by your works uh… then christ will count nothing for you you are following race that is those that are trusting in their works to be saved but notice how it changes in verse five from u u u inverse for the we we we inverse five okay we believers through the spirit wait for the hope of righteousness house by faith verse four they’re trying to be saved by the works of the law they’re being justified by the law and that those are the ones that are followed from grace and christ will count nothing for them but we’ve asked five

who by faith simply trust christ or justified before god and are saved and christ counts everything for us uh… okay now he said that there’s something to do with the jewish people tasting grace and decided that they didn’t quite want to go that direction so they reverted back to the law and accepted the law as a way of salvation is if you get any interpretation whatsoever from that well basically what happens that they got saved and then they were misled by false teachers who came along and so they know it needed to go back and in addition uh…

keep the law and he says anybody was trying to keep the law to be saved will not be saved at all so you can’t be saved by the law and collation two sixteen it says knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we, Paul includes himself, have been justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

So if you attempt to be saved by the law, you won’t be justified. Christ will count nothing for you. You’re fallen from grace. But if you’re saved by faith, you are in and we’re going to be with the Lord because of what Jesus did for us. Okay, so then this really isn’t salvation. Verse four is talking about… These people really haven’t been saved. That’s right. Okay. And he’s warning them if they’re attempting to be saved by the law that they are going to wind up in hell.

Exactly. So it is impossible to fall from grace. But these people never get… Well, you can fall from grace, but you can’t fall from salvation. See what happens is these people were offered God’s grace as God’s grace is offered to everyone. Titus 2 11 says, the grace of God has appeared to all men. So God invites the whole human race to be saved. Whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish, but have everlasting life. So we’re all invited to be saved.

But if you say, well, I’m going to be saved on the basis of keeping the law or works, then you are rejecting grace, and therefore you are fallen from grace. But once you become saved by grace, you’re stuck. You have to go to heaven really like it or not. Okay. And that’s the difference. That’s a good news. Amen. This is good news. And as we just said in the previous call, Jesus said him that come up to me, I want to know why he’s cast out.

Once you trust Christ to save you, he’ll never cast you out. And in John 639, even better, he said he’d not lose any that have come to him. So you’re stuck. I’m stuck. I have to go to heaven where I can run. I heard you said that promise over and over and that’s very fulfilling. So I just wanted to clarify this because it’s kind of iffy, but you’ve made it very plain. So thank you very much and have a great valentine state.

Well same to you, bye bye now. That was Joyce in Clearwater and wow, amazing how people get things mixed up. But if you read the context here, verse 4 is talking to people that are obviously lost. Christ has become of no effect unto you. Any of you that are trying to be saved by the law, justified by the law, you are fallen from grace. But we, and now he’s writing to others in the churches of Galatia and says we and Paul includes himself through the spirit.

Paul wasn’t trying to be justified by the law. He already gives you several chapters telling you why that’s just. He says, we, through the spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. So the believer is saved by faith. The lost person falls from grace when he turns to the law to save him. He then falls from grace. Again, the phone number for Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771. Copy it down so you can call us after the program is over. And also, we’d love to answer any other questions you might have.

We have one last call or frank and we don’t have much time so that has to be really quick, Frank. Welcome to Bibleline. Good morning. In the Bible and I couldn’t find it where it talks about let’s say for example, find it. Where would I find that? All right. There are several verses but Ephesians 4, 11. 5, 11 I believe it is. 4, 11 or 5, 11 says they have no fellowship with the unproofed works of darkness but rather reprove them.

And in Romans 16 verse 17 says you’re to avoid them and get out of there. So if you’re in a bad church you need to live it. Alright, I’m Dr. Englister, and we have to run. The time is up, but I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior, because He alone can save you. He is the way, the truth, and the life. And no man can come to the Father but by Him. They have to run, so we’ll be looking forward to joining you tomorrow morning at 10 AM.
