Thanks for tuning in the broadcast and we hope that you will enjoy as we bring this to you from our studios right here at Calvary Community Church.

We’re located at 4811 George Road in Tampa, Florida and we’re just Tayyip West. Belichick is in the National Airport just fourrontal of a mile south of Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa. And we invite you to drop by. We’re open until about three every day and you can come by today and stop in and say hello. We have a number of wonderful things in our Resource Center here. Let me just say that I recommend the Strong’s Concordance and we have that available here and we could ship it out to you.

That’s fatter than a phone book but it has every word, every the thou and and but and shalt that it’s in the Bible and it will buy a number code system give you the original Greek or Hebrew word depending whether it’s the older New Testament and it’s a wonderful way to do some real study in your Bible if you know one word in a verse you can look up that one word and it in the strongings in accordance will quote every verse in the Bible where that word occurs.

A part of the verse. So you’ll be able to find a verse you’ve been looking for real quickly. And then it’ll give you by a number code system and you’ll have access to the scholarship of 200 Hebrew Greek scholars, but you’ll be able to look up the actual Hebrew or Greek word and what it meant and how it is translated throughout the Bible. Wonderful tool, we have that. We also have the Vines expository Bible Dictionary, which gives you more of the root meanings of the words and really helps you understand Bible passages by going back to the original language.

If you go to your regular English dictionary, you will not find that you will get necessarily the meaning that comes from the original words into our English Bible. But you don’t have to know any Hebrew or Greek to figure this one out. It’s a wonderful tool, we have that. And also we have the Scofield Bible. The old Scofield is becoming more and more scarce. If you go to your bookstore, they generally don’t carry it. But we have it in stock here.

And that’s the only one. In fact, that we recommend as the old Scofield Reference Bible, we have that available. And we have it in a soft, hardback, and leather and a large print, so you might want to call and talk to our operators about that. We have the two commentaries that I love so much. The Jameson Fosse Brown three volume, three volume underbridge commentary has a comment on every scripture. And so you really got it made with that. Plus we have the Jay Vernon McGee Company, five volumes.

So wonderful set, retails for about 200, we have it for a gift of 100. And that has something on every chapter of the Bible. So, J. Vernon McGee will get you launched in the right direction and usually you can move forward from there with that. If you have your Bible, get it out. We’ll take a look at some verses and then we’re going to also take calls today. We’re going to begin by looking at Romans 4, 5, a verse that absolutely surprised me the first time I saw it.

Romans 4, 5 says, but to him that worketh not. Boy, hard for me to believe that since I was raised in a church that taught us we had to work our way to heaven. This verse, we have to work our way to heaven. This verse, we have to work our way to heaven. says to the person who does not work, but believe it that word means to trust, if you would trust on Christ who justifies us who are the ungodly, his faith or your faith in Jesus Christ would be counted for righteousness.

Now we have to be righteous to go to heaven and we’re not. We’re all sinners and we’ve all come short of the glory of God. But Romans 4-5 says in order to be able to enter God’s presence, that we have to be righteous. And to the one who doesn’t work at all, but would believe or trust on Christ as the one who made the payment for their sin at the cross of Calvary, God says his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness.

Let me read the verse again, Romans 4, 5 says, but to him that worketh not, but believeeth on him that justifyeth the ungodly, his faith that is his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. Wow. If your faith was counted for righteousness, could you be sure of going to heaven? The answer would be yes, of course. Because if God counts you as righteous, obviously you can enter heaven. And in fact, when the Bible talks about the righteous versus the wicked, it’s talking about believers versus unbelievers.

Because all the righteous are believers, and that’s how they are made righteous in the God’s sight. It’s not by our works that were righteous. Our righteousnesses are as filthy rags, Isaiah 64, 6. but the very righteousness of God is required for heaven. And Jesus died so that we could have his righteousness credited to our account. And the Bible formula is, and here are three points, if you want to write them down. And that’s Romans 4-5. It says, number one, in order to be saved, you have to come to the place where you work not, or recognize you cannot save yourself.

Isn’t that what happened with the dying thief? Why, he came to the place where he realized that he was dying, he could not save himself, and he looked to Christ to save him. and Jesus told him today thou shalt be with me in Paradise, Luke 23, 43. So the dying thief obviously could not work. He couldn’t join the church. He couldn’t walk down the aisle. He couldn’t be water baptized. He couldn’t be confirmed. He couldn’t attend mass. He couldn’t do anything hardly.

He was dying. And in the last seconds of his life, he believed on Christ. And Jesus said today, thou shalt be with me in Paradise. So you have to come to the place where you recognize you cannot work your way to heaven. Number two is you have to believe or trust in Christ and the work that he performed at the cross Which is the means by which we’re saved when you trust Christ as your Savior God up in heaven saves you and notice the consequence point number three is that your faith in Christ is counted for the righteousness that you need in order to be able in heaven you know I remember taking a life-saving course and I was told that if somebody were drowning running, that the last thing you wanted to do was enter the water without drowning swimmer.

Because why? That drowning swimmer might grab you in a death hole grip and there’d be two people that would drown. So you didn’t want that to happen. So they said you should extend a pole or throw a rope or throw out a life preserver, some type of a flotation device, something that they could grab onto in order to be able to rescue them. resort, you would enter the water with a drowning swimmer. But then what was so interesting is that they said when you approached a drowning swimmer you have to be very cautious.

And as he is struggling and fighting and so on, he could be a danger to you and you could drown also. So the old-time technique was you would get real close and you’d get an opportunity and then you’d pull like your fist and you’d pop this guy in the mouth. And well that’s a terrible trick to pull on a drowning swimmer. But the point was that you had to get that fellow to stop struggling in order for you to be able to rescue the person.

The modern technique is a little more subtle. You come out near the drowning swimmer, I understand. And then you kind of go underwater and pull the guy underwater. You said, well, wait a minute. You don’t want to do that to a drowning swimmer. Well, apparently, what you need to do is get this guy to stop struggling. As long as he is fighting and struggling and thrashing, you are in danger of drowning. And the same thing is true about salvation.

As long as we’re struggling and working and trying to earn our way to heaven, then we’re in trouble. We need to stop and recognize we cannot save ourselves and simply trust in Christ as the drowning swimmer would trust in the lifeguard or in the person coming to save him. And then, then, of course, the result will be that you’ll be saved. I love a phrase by Dr. Amardahan who is now in heaven with the Lord. He founded the radio Bible class which you can still hear on the air and they produce a wonderful devotional booklet that we use here in our church called Our Daily Bread.

But Dr. Amardahan said, God will not save a man who is trying to be saved. God will not save a man who is trying to be saved. And then he went on to say, but he will only save a man who is trusting to be saved. So as long as you are trying to save yourself, God cannot save you. As long as you are struggling and working and climbing and trying to gain heaven by your works and by your deeds, God can’t save you.

God will not save a man who is trying to be saved, but God will only save a man who is trusting to be saved. So as long as you are trying, you won’t be saved. You have to come to the place where you say, I can’t save myself. I’m lost. God be merciful to me in a center and simply trust in the finished work of Christ, and then God saves you. you. And that’s the formula here in Romans 4.5 and nobody has ever been saved any differently than we find out lying in this verse.

It says in Romans 4.5, but to him that does not work, but believeth on Christ who justifies those that are ungodly, that’s us. His faith or our faith in Christ is counted then for righteousness. And by the way, in this chapter it talks about the Old Testament believers were saved the same way. It says verse 6, even as David, that’s talking talking about the King David, the Shepherd King David, the one who killed Goliath. It says in verse 6, even as David also describes the blessedness, the happiness of the man under whom God impudeth righteousness and it says without works, without works, without works.

David knew about the salvation that God offers without works. It’s by faith in Christ and David by the way, believe that Jesus would come future and pay for sin. That’s If you’ve ever heard the 22nd Psalm, it’s quite remarkable. A thousand years before Jesus ever came, David talked about the crucifixion and tells about how Christ would have His hands and His feet pierced. Even telling details such as that they would gamble for His cloak, Psalm 22 16 and then Psalm 22 18 talks about how they would cast lots for His garment.

A thousand years before Jesus ever came, it told that His hands and His feet would be pierced. No wonder people loved the 23rd Psalm where David went on to say that the Lord was his shepherd, that he had trusted in the shepherd that gave his life for the sheep and David was saved. And David said, therefore, I will not want. And he said in verse 6, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. And I will, not I hope, not perhaps, not maybe, but I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

So David went to heaven because he believed in the shepherd that gave his life for the sheep that he described in chapter 22 as going to the cross, having his hands and his feet pierced and having the soldiers at the foot of the cross gamble for his cloak. Amazing. Well I hope you’re saved. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your savior because as long as you’re struggling to save yourself and I know a lot of you will say, well I have to join the church.

I have to be faithful in my church attendance. I have to live the Christian life. I have to be water baptized. I have to and the list goes on and on and on and God says as long as you’re trusting in In those things, you’re not going to be saved. You have to come to the place where you realize, I cannot do one thing to save myself and like the dying thief, simply trust Christ to save you. In the moment you do that, God will do that.

He’ll save you. I’m going to turn to Ephesians 2, 8, which says essentially the same thing as Romans 4, 5 that we just covered. In Ephesians 2, 8, it says, by grace, grace meaning mercy and merit of favor. Are you saved through faith? his faith in Jesus Christ. And then it says, and that none of yourself, the salvation is none of yourself, it is the gift of God. And in verse 9 it says, it’s not of works. Let’s then he mentioned boast.

What a grand verse. Boy, when I first saw this verse, I didn’t know a thing about the Bible. I’d been raised in church, but I didn’t know a thing about the Bible. And when they read the verse, 4 by grace, I thought, who is she? And my mother’s His name was Grace. And I learned the meaning of Grace for the first time. It means mercy and merited favor. And the Bible is saying here by grace, by mercy and merited favor, are you saved through faith, faith in Christ?

And this salvation is none of yourself. It is the gift of God. And in verse 9 it says, it’s not of works, unless any man should boast. And when I saw that phrase, not of works, I’ll never forget the impact it had upon me. Because my church taught that you had to work your way to heaven. And here the Bible said you could not be saved by your works. It was not of works. And I realized real quickly there didn’t take me long to figure this one out.

Somebody was wrong. Either my church was right and the Bible was wrong or the Bible was right and my church was wrong. I had to make a choice. It was decision time. I made the decision to believe the Bible over my church. And that was of course the correct decision to make. A lot of churches teach works for salvation, sometimes very subtly. But you can never be saved by your works. It’s not of works. Let’s then even mention boaster brag.

And yet there are those who will say, well, you’ve got to do these things, and then they’ll boast about the fact that they’re doing them. And you know the Bible says that one day that group will stand before Jesus and they’ll boast in brag. and it says in Matthew 7 22, many will stand before the Lord and say, Lord, Lord, didn’t we preach in your name? They’re bragging. Didn’t we heal in your name? They’re bragging. Didn’t we do many wonderful works in your name?

They’re bragging. And what does Christ say? I never knew you. I never knew you. Not I once knew you and I lost you. That’s impossible. Once you’re saved, you’re stuck. You have to go to heaven where you like it or not. But he He says, I never knew you. Depart from me into everlasting fire. You know the lost will be separated from God forever. And many of them are what we would consider good people, religious people, people who do good works in the name of Christ, people who preach in the name of Christ and people that heal in the name of Christ.

And Jesus said, if you’re doing that to earn your salvation, sorry, you won’t make it into heaven. The only way you can enter heaven is to come to the place where you don’t work or recognize you cannot work to be saved and simply trust in the finished work of Christ. This is Bible and I’m Dr. Angklinstam. We have Eric on the line and Eric is calling in from Tampa. Yeah, how you doing? Good. So you want some verses? I think your radio is a little bit high.

It’s starting to feed in. So you want verses on salvation not being of works? Yeah. Well, there’s a ton of them. I’ll give you a couple to write down here. I like Romans 28 where it says therefore we conclude is the conclusion of the first three chapters of the book of Romans Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith Without without without the deeds of the law Then Romans 4 5 that we just covered how that? When you recognize you cannot work to be saved but trust Christ then God counts your faith in Christ for righteousness and then I love Romans 5 1 that says therefore being justified by faith faith.

By faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. And we, you know, if you go on and on Titus 3, 5 is a good one. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us. So let me just encourage you to maybe start with those and build your list there. Eric, we’re feeding back here for some reason. Is your radio up loud or what? I can’t. Yeah, I believe for us.

I can come in and out. Well, I hope that helped. I’m sorry. I think your radio is a little bit too high and we can’t do that. And I think we’re feeding back over here as well. That was Eric in Tampa. And we have a number of resources. We have 33 different sets of teaching of 10 hours or more than I have on audio tape. We have a lot of videos with each one covering one particular doctrine for a half hour or some of them for an hour and those are available.

We also have of course lots of resources on the Bible. That great one that we talk about all the time is the book on evangelism that just tells you how to evangelize. Makes it very, very clear telling you how to open your mouth and carry on the conversation and so on. We have anonymous from Tampa, Florida saying in your personal opinion do you believe Jesus will return before five years. Well, I don’t know if my opinion means anything, but I think we’re very close.

I would be surprised if you weren’t back in five years. But again, that’s just an opinion. I’m not a date setter. I believe we’re close. I don’t think we can set a date, but we can certainly say he’s coming. And every day that I look at the paper, I say it’s got to be more, it’s going to be sooner than we can probably imagine. Who Who knows? He might come this year. I don’t set dates but I do believe Christ is coming quickly.

We’re going to go now to Jack and Jack is calling in from Jacksonville, Florida. Isn’t that interesting? So Jack, welcome to the violin. You’re on the air. Yes, sir. Thank you. My daughter is ill with a severe nosebleed and had tubes inserted. When I stopped by to see her last night, she said that two people have told her to read scripture from the Bible. She did not recall what book it was. But to read this scripture six times about a nosebleed and it would stop.

Now I told her that sounds like a potion to me and there’s no potion scriptures in the Bible. Well, I thoroughly agree with you and I think that that’s something that’s more like magic or a potion or not biblical. I would dismiss that and not go in that direction at all. A lot of people are going in those kind of directions and we have some really craziness going on out there in the signs and wonders and healing movement and I was just checking out this Lakeland thing where we have this guy getting a lot of publicity and it turns out from one of the people who was going to be in the other direction.

when I read on the internet yesterday that he’s a convicted child molester, been a seven year old boy and spent 18 months in prison for that. And that his favorite musicians and groups are really, say, Tannic groups and he’s covered with tattoos and eye piercings and other piercings or eyebrow piercings and doesn’t seem to want to cover them. You know, the Bible forbids any cuttings or markings on your body. You’re not supposed to do that. And wow, we have a movement today that’s claiming itself as being Christian and that Christ is doing these healings, and yet it’s so foreign from the Bible when the music and the apparent picture and the one doing the presentation seems to be obviously the opposite of what the Bible teaches.

Yes, yes. Scary. Yes, it is. And we should use every opportunity to be a witness and point out to them that it’s not from the Bible. Amen. a man well i’d pray that she heard was later will get better in and that uh… she will not look at that direction for that kind of healing right thank you very much you’re very welcome back by all right we uh… uh… called her uh… jack i think that it is donita thank you donita for calling him from jackson bill we’re going to mark in pinnellus park and mark welcome to my point a good morning thank you for taking my call I believe like you do that we’re justified by faith alone, but I just wanted to hear your thoughts on what I read the New Testament, most of the single conversions that are covered there are followed immediately by a water baptism.

And, you know, I’m not pressing that water baptism is mandatory or not, but I just noticed that in the New Testament after, you know, Jesus had arrived that when someone was, when they accepted him as their savior, they were baptized immediately. And I just, I don’t, I don’t hear you talk about that much and I just wanted to see if yeah, I think every believer ought to be water baptized. There are two ordinances that the Lord left and water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two and every believer ought to be water baptized once by immersion as a testimony of their faith in Jesus Christ.

That they’ve been cleansed by the blood of Christ. The water doesn’t do it. But you know, I believe it’s also an open declaration of the new believer that now he wants to walk in the newness of life and is now going to proclaim Christ the rest of his life. So I think if you read carefully, usually the person like in Acts chapter 8, you have the Ethiopian eunuch and he desires to be baptized. I think he wants to follow in the believer’s baptism.

And so I think sometimes that the person needs to recognize what’s taking place. So we like to, at least at our church, have a little bit of instruction as to what it’s all about and then have a water baptized. I think we baptized, you know, 60 or more last year by immersion and we’ve got a bunch of more people on the list to be baptized now. We’re waiting for this cool weather to ease up a little bit because we usually use a swimming pool and do it outdoors at different church members homes and we like the outdoors as it seems to be more biblical to get outside.

And I’ve baptized on all my trips to Israel, 13 different trips. I’ve led people over there, I’ve baptized in the Jordan River. And we, that’s a wonderful experience to do it there. Wow, to have it right in the Jordan River. But you know in Matthew 28 and the Great Commission, it says that we are to go. And the word teach there is the Greek word for disciple, word and disciple nation. So it implies there that we go from salvation to making a disciple of someone, and then it says baptize them, which is the disciple.

So I think there needs to be a little bit of instruction here where the person is really saying, I’m going to now publicly declare that I’m saved by the blood of Jesus, by being water baptized, and make a statement that I’m also now going to live for Christ and continue to proclaim Him all the days of my life. So that’s my view is that I think It’s just more than a reflection backward, but I think it’s a look forward that we’re going to proclaim Christ and we’re going to be open about it and we’re willing to give an open testimony, especially for the Jew.

That was a real big event, you know, because the Jews baptized for everything. And when a Jewish person was baptized, that was a real statement to his family and other Jews that he… Now was clearly declaring his faith in Jesus Christ and in Jewish families to this day. Many times they’ll ostracize you and they’ll even have a mock funeral to save your dead now that you’ve deserted the Jewish faith when you are water baptized. So it’s a powerful testimony.

So you would say that So if I’m leading someone to Christ I would you know make it clear that you’re justified by your faith in Christ And then your maybe your first active obedience is baptism and then open the New Testament and say is you know And here’s why I think that’s the case and then show them the different examples in the New Testament I would go without a hundred percent. Yeah, that’s exactly right. Okay. All right. Hey, thanks for taking my call I listen to you I mean in our cars all day at work and then I’m constantly you know catch a little bit here and there and i believe the way you do that we’re justified by faith and we can’t really do anything on our own you know but i just i needed it i want to make sure it’s clear my head of the difference between the two and

that baptism was was i mean i want to say mandatory that’s kind of a strong word but well it is for the believer for the believer uh… every believer is is commanded to be baptized because we’re really commanded to be a disciples to but a lot of christians don’t ever become disciples unfortunately and they there are many i’m sure that are water baptized but yet they would still be saved the dying thief never got baptized but there’s a level of importance here i think first Corinthians one seventeen helps give a little perspective because of the misuse of the baptism all i’ll talk about that when we get back from the break i hear that music so uh…

thanks for calling and we’ll talk about that and after the break i’m not going to this is by the line and we are going to break don’t change that radio now i’ll be right back in just a moment to answer your question here on by the The Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englunds from, and it’s great to be with you, and thank you for tuning in to the broadcast.

We appreciate you and all of our listeners, and we hope that we’ll get a chance to meet you sometime. And we know that if we don’t get to meet you here on this planet, we’ll get to meet you in the air at the event of the Rapture because all believers, all believers, everyone who’s trusted Christ will be in the Rapture if they’re living when that event takes place. And I think we’re close enough that it could really happen this year.

It could happen anytime. I’m not a date setter, but I’m watching. I’m looking, you know, and if you don’t look and you don’t watch, you’re delinquent because Christ tells us 23 times in the gospel. to watch for His coming. So if you’re not watching, you’re really delinquent as a believer. This is something that everybody ought to be doing. Jesus tells us to do that. Well in any case, we’re excited about so many things. We want to go back to Israel.

We’d love to have you go with us. And if you are interested at all, if you would just call us and give us your information, we’ll keep you informed as we make our plans and decide upon a date and what we’re going to do when we go to Israel. We’d love to have you go with us. Would you consider that? Give us a call and we’ll put you on our list and keep you informed. We’ll also be having a baptism coming up in the next month or two.

And if you’ve not been water baptized and if you want, you can be included with us here. I know we had a family in New York that said they wanted to come down some time and have baptized them. And we’ll be happy to do that. In fact, if you let us know in advance, we’ll make plans to baptize you when you come into town if you want to be baptized here. Also, our worship services are there online for you.

You can go any time of day or night and listen to the Bible and programs on the radio, but but also you can watch the worship services there in our kind of and we have two years worth of programs sitting there waiting there for you. Just go to Bibleline Ministries dot org or dot com. Again if you can help us financially we are totally listeners supported. We don’t have any other means of support and we would appreciate hearing from you in that way because we have no other way to be able to stay on the air.

to continue and to grow and to reach forward, we need your help. So please, please consider giving a gift to my blind, and certainly we thank you for praying for us. If you would do that, we’d be very happy. Anyway, we are… up. We’re going to go back to the stations that have been on break and did the second half hour of Bibleline. I hope you’ll keep your radio right where it is and here we go. We’re going to do Bibleline in the second half hour right now.

Bibleline continue in your area. You can just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We were talking about baptism there and in 1 Corinthians 1 17 there had been an abuse of baptism at Corinth where some were saying, I’m better than you are because I was baptized by Peter and others would say no I’m better than you are because Paul baptized me and so on and because of that Paul said I thank God that I baptized none of you but just a couple of families and that certainly lets us know that water baptism has nothing to do with salvation or Paul would be saying in 1 Corinthians 1 14, I thank God none of you are saved because if water baptism were required for salvation, that’s exactly what he’d be saying.

He would be saying, I thank God none of you are saved. But then he says to give us some order of importance here. He says Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel. And so the gospel obviously brings a person to salvation when they believe the wonderful message of the death, the burial of the resurrection of Christ. And then the ordinances are at a lower level of importance because obviously if you don’t get saved we could baptize you every day and you’d still go to hell.

So baptism has to do with the Christian life. And over in 1 Corinthians 11 Paul admonishes the believers at Corinth to observe and to keep the two ordinances that he describes in the book of Corinthians which are Water baptism in chapter 1 and in the Lord’s Supper he describes in chapter 11. So we obviously ought to do that as believers in our Christian walk, but if you don’t get salvation right, nothing counts. I mean you’ve wasted your effort to be baptized if you are trusting in that to be saved or in your works to be saved because you won’t be saved at all.

So obviously we need to recognize that Christ sent me not to baptize Paul said verse 17 of chapter 1 of Corinthians, but he sent me to preach the gospel. So the gospel brings about salvation. Then Paul addresses the issues of the Christian life and how the believers ought to keep the two ordinances that were given. And hopefully that helps a little bit. We’re going to go to David in Clearwater and David is waiting patiently here on the line. David, welcome to…

Hello? Yes. Hi. He had a question for you. I’ve only listened to you I think it’s Friday and you were talking about Genesis and the creation of the world and I’m not sure if I heard you right you were I think you said that you were like evolved from a dinosaur or something like that towards the end after the Holy Spirit stirred over the earth and warmed it up again. No I didn’t say we evolved from dinosaurs that man was created.

You were a dinosaur huh? Did you say that you were a dinosaur? No I never said that. I said that we used fossil fuels today, and there used to be gas stations that had a dinosaur out on their logo that we were eating, rather, eating drink. In our gas tanks, we were eating and drinking fossil fuels. That’s what makes our world go today. So the dinosaurs were killed, and a lot of those dinosaurs and other animal life were trapped in pockets underneath the earth, much of which is underneath the desert sands in the Middle least and those are the fossil fuels that we’re using today.

Right. Okay. I understood that part. But man was created out of the dust of the ground completely separate and apart from any animal dinosaur or any other life form. Man was created special and separate. Okay. Maybe I was here and think because I could have sworn I heard you say that you said yeah, I am a dinosaur. No, no. Okay. I understand about the dinosaurs. That first part of it too, I’ve never read that in Genesis. As far as the earth being millions of years old, which people don’t know.

It doesn’t say that. It doesn’t say it’s millions of years old. It says, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Maybe I just misunderstood the whole thing, but because a lot of your answers I agree with, I just was really concerned about that, that’s why I’m calling. Well, I’m not a dinosaur that’s been made over into a human now. Alright, one more question. Did you say that the Earth was here and that the oceans froze up and killed all the…

I believe that the earth was judged in Genesis 1 2, Isaiah 45 18 says God did not create the earth void or vein. The same Hebrew word is used and so therefore I believe what happened in verse 2 was a judgment upon the original creation of the earth which had plants, animals, dinosaurs they were in that original creation. And NASA says, if we were to believe NASA for a source, that 65 million years ago is when the dinosaurs were killed.

They say it was by that asteroid that struck in the area of the Eucutan Peninsula and that it threw up so much debris into the atmosphere that the atmosphere was darkened and the sun’s light was cut off and that is what we attribute the ice ages to. And it’s interesting, at the end of verse 2 in Genesis where it says the darkness was upon the face of the deep the earth was flooded that it says the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters when that word moved actually is a Hebrew word that means to incubate, to brood upon.

So apparently the Holy Spirit warmed up the earth, thawed out the earth from the ice ages and then in seven days just maybe six thousand years ago God made the earth reappointed it for a new purpose and this time He puts a man on the planet. Okay, and that’s your philosophy from what the scripture says? I believe so. In fact, Jeremiah, and apparently the prophets were caught forward in the time, as John the Apostle was, and he saw the future tribulation period in the millennial reign of Christ, that some of the prophets were also captured backward in the time.

And that’s possible, I believe, if God operates in more dimensions than the four that we are living in. But in Jeremiah chapter 4, it is a description there of Jeremiah being apparently taken back in time. And he sees the earth after it had been judged. And it says in verse 23 of Jeremiah 4, Jeremiah says, I beheld, he was an eyewitness. He says I beheld the earth and lo it was without form and void. That’s exactly the way we find it in Genesis 1-2.

And it says the heavens they had no light. That’s exactly what we read in Genesis 1-2. And then it describes here how that there was no life on the planet that the mountains they trembled, the hills moved and it says I beheld and there was no man. Man was not on the planet as yet. All the birds of the heaven were fled and it says here in verse 26 I beheld and though the fruitful place was a wilderness and all the cities were broken down at the presence of the Lord and by His fierce anger.

Now we don’t know of any incident that would meet that description except a judgment upon the earth and Genesis 1 2 and I believe the cities here are angelic cities that were destroyed and they may be at the bottoms of the oceans today. You know, scientists believe that the exposed surfaces today were once the bottoms of the oceans, or perhaps the bottoms of the oceans were once the land surface, prior to the flood. I know that you can find seashells on the top of Pike’s Peak out in Denver in Colorado.

And so obviously the North American continent was once underwater and perhaps there are cities today still to be discovered that are broken down that were in the Wangelic cities. There might be something to the myths that are out there like the lost continent of Atlantis. Maybe what was underneath the Atlantic Ocean was the landmass and maybe there are broken down remains of angelic cities sitting at the way at the bottom that have laid undiscovered us. All right. Okay. You said that was Jeremiah 4?

4 verses 23 on and it describes here Jeremiah says that he beheld, he actually appears as a witness here to have gone back in time. Lo, it says the earth was without form and void, that’s the way we find it in Genesis 1-2 and it says the heavens low, they had no light, so the heavens were dark and it talks about there was no man on the planet and how that God had judged the earth with his presence and by his fierce anger and i don’t know of another incident when we have it like this uh…

described so i believe it is the uh… the flood of uh… genesis one to okay well that is my mind quite a bit i appreciate your time all right now i don’t believe in evolution and i’m not uh… the end of some uh… you know conveyor belt where god is uh… starting off with on apes or monkeys and and here we are okay so thank you all right uh… me heard the story about the little boy though he said mom did we come from uh…

monkeys and apes and she thought for a moment she says you know i don’t know i’m never did know your father’s folks very well anyway that’s a that’s what’s the funny okay some of your laughing out there are this is by the line and we’re having fun i hope you’re enjoying the program and uh… we’re coming to you daily money through friday here on by the line and uh… we believe the bible is the word of god we believe that god created the universe and that uh…

he created man apart from all the rest of his creation as a special being and he breathed in his nostrils of the birth of life after he created him from the dust of the earth. And what is interesting is it is very scientific the Bible talks about how we are created from the dust of the earth and scientists have discovered that the dust of the earth is comprised of 16 basic elements. And also that the human body is comprised of 16 basic elements and guess what?

They’re the same 16. We have other trace elements, but there are 16 basic elements that make up the human body. And I copied them down out of the scientific article where I read that. And here they are. They’re not in my Bible, but they’re in my notes because I took notes on this. but were made of carbon, chlorine, phosphorus, fluorine, nitrogen, magnesium, silicon, aluminum, potassium, sodium, calcium, iron, manganese, titanium, oxygen, and hydrogen. Did you know that? So hey, that’s what you’re made of.

We’re gonna go to Bob down in Sarasota and Bob, a welcome to Bibleline. Hi, how are you? Good. Listen, I have a question for you. I was on the radio and I heard a couple of preachers talking about ukulelesia salvation. And I thought it would be good for you maybe to address a couple of these scriptures for myself and others as well. And I have John. John chapter 15, and I, you know, it’s the parable of the vine. You know, I’m being cast out.

I’ll have 1 Corinthians 10 through 12. I mean chapter 10 verse 12. Okay. I don’t want to be labor and just Hebrews chapter 3 verse 12. Okay. You could touch on us. I’ll try to do that for you. And that seems to be some of the thrust going around. And they were also not using the King James Version. Well, you know, they don’t rightly divide the word of truth. And in John 15, Christ is there talking about Christian, the Christian life, about fruit bearing, not about how to be saved.

And in what he’s talking about here is not loss of salvation, but the loss of rewards and your testimony and your effectiveness. So he says in verse 6, if any man abide not in me, and you have to define the terms from the context here, and the person abiding in Christ is one who is loyally following as the disciple of Christ. He says in verse 10, if you keep my commandments, then you shall abide. And so if we are obeying the commandments of Christ, then we’re abiding in Him.

And so for disobeying as a believer and not following His instructions and not living the Christian life, then we’re cast forth as a branch and we’re withered. And the key word here says, men, men, not God, men, gav of them, cast them into the fire and they’re burned. It’s talking about your testimony is worthless and so men discount it and they count it just as trash and as something worthy to put on the trash heap and be burned. But he’s not talking about loss of salvation.

But in any case that’s what he’s talking about. He’s talking about bearing fruit and the loss would be the loss of testimony. He talks about in Matthew about salt, the word of the salt of the earth and if the salt loses it savor, it’s good for nothing but to be trodden under the feet of men. Of course, again, if we don’t have a testimony, we’re impacting other people. As salt, obviously, is very important when we eat that has an impact upon our food.

If you try to eat stuff that has no salt, you know the difference. And we are to be impacting others, and if we don’t, then we have no testimony at all but to be trodden under the foot of men. But as far as the goddess can say, you’re safe forever. In 1 Corinthians 10, the second one that you asked about, it talks about in verse 12, and I’m almost there, it says in verse 12, wherefore let him think if he stands to take heedless the fall, and of course is not talking about falling from salvation, but other passages talk about falling from our steadfastness, falling from our confidence, and that’s what it’s talking about that a Christian can lose his assurance, lose his confidence, lose his effectiveness, and so on, and lose his testimony, but he cannot lose his salvation.

And nowhere here does it imply that the believer is going to lose his salvation, but it tells us even as in the Old Testament earlier that God was upset with 23,000 Christians in the wilderness and took their lives in one day. So you can go to heaven early. The Lord might chase in you and take you out of this world, but you cannot lose your salvation. So if you fall away from the Lord, that can happen. And the result will be loss of reward and you’ll incur God’s discipline upon your life.

And then the third one is in Hebrews chapter three, and there it talks about the children in the wilderness, and it says, take heed, brethren, lest there be an interview, an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. Well, Jonah departed from from the living God, what happened to him? He was a prophet of God. The Lord chastened him and everybody on shipboard threw him overboard and then he gave him a ride in a fish’s belly and finally had him vomit it up on the shore and said, Jonah, get busy with what you’re supposed to be doing here.

So he departed from the living God. He even paid passage on that ship from Japa, apparently to the furthest destination he could book his passage on. But it’s not talking about loss of salvation here, it’s just talking about loss of reward, loss of testimony and maybe even the loss of your life. And the children in the Israel of Israel died in the wilderness, never ever experiencing the promised language as a picture of a victorious Christian life and not heaven.

And so they never got to even reach that because they died in the wilderness, they just wandered around until they died. And a lot of Christians are in that same category. is one or around not accomplishing much for God at all. And they never experience what God has intended for them to enjoy here in the way of God’s blessings and joy in their life because they are not living for the Lord. But no loss of salvation here or anywhere.

Obviously you have to interpret all the difficult passages in the light of a clear one. In John 637, Jesus said, “‘Him that cometh to me I will have no wise cast out “‘in the story.'” So as far as being saved, we come to Christ and then he promises he’ll never cast us out for any reason. What was that, scripture? John 637. That’s the beauty. It’s great. Yeah. John 637. Thank you, doc. All right, Bob. Thank you. Bob and Sarasota.

Thank you again, all of you who give to Bible and we need your regular weekly and monthly support without you. We could not be on the air. Sometimes I get a little bit nervous. Because we don’t have a reserve. We don’t have a piggy bank. If the money doesn’t come in, we can’t pay the bill. And if we ever go off the air, you wonder what happened? Well, that’ll be the answer. We just didn’t have it. And so we require your help.

And that’s the way God intended it. As we partner together, God will give you fruit that is a result of this ministry. Because Paul said that in Philippians 4 and 19, he says, not that I desire a gift, as he talked about giving to the people at Philippi, He says, but I desire fruit that may abound your account. Philippians 4, 19. Wow, what a concept. You know, when you give to the Lord’s work, you will benefit not only in God’s blessing you here in this life, but also you’re laying up treasures in heaven.

I had a missionary tell me once. He says, you know, my wife and I used to take 10 years to lay up a year’s salary in heaven. Obviously, he’s talking about a tie, isn’t he? And he says, since we know are retired and we have our fixed expenses, we have decided to speed that up. And so now he says it takes us five years to lay up a year’s salary in heaven. And wow, I thought that was an interesting way of presenting what he was doing there, but obviously he’s giving 20%.

Now you don’t have to give anything to be saved. Christ gave his life for us so that we could be saved. But you know, if we’re a believer, ought to be thinking about eternity and God wants to reward us, He wants to bless us. And some will be ashamed and have no reward, but as a believer, wouldn’t you want to have the Lord say, well done, good and faithful servant and have done things that God can reward and bless and lay up treasure in heaven as He’s told us?

Well, anyway, thank God for all of you who have been giving to Bible and because that’s why we’re still on the air. And we’re praying that we can go further beyond this market and maybe to the whole nation, Wouldn’t it be great if we could bring Bibleline to all of America? Because I believe that we are reaching people that are lost with the gospel. I believe we’re a challenge to believers to get into the Bible and start living for Christ and sharing the message.

I believe we’re also kidding people to be more clear in their presentation because a lot of Christianity today is very muddy, very sloppy. The message is very confused and people obviously therefore are going to be not able to understand what they must do in order to be saved unless somebody clarifies it. We believe that we are an instant resource too for your Bible questions. So I think Bible and is a valuable ministry in my opinion and all of our listeners apparently think so too because of them we’re still on the air.

God bless all of you who give. You can send a gift to Bible and at 4811 George wrote in Tampa, Florida and the zip code It is 3, 3, 6, 3, 4. I know that’s fast, but call the number after the show. We’ll recite it to you, or we’ll send an envelope to you with the address on it. And or you can give a gift directed by credit card over the phone, or you can order resources, which will also buy the line, including some of the best tracks in all the world for evangelism that we have.

And some materials we have like we have this cheat sheet on the cults. You whip that thing out, it gives you eight cults, what they believe on seven different topics, quoting from their and then a column that tells you what the Bible says. So you’re right on top of everything, just with a quick glance, and that’s for a gift of a dollar and a half. Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Maybe you could afford to get a resource like that and help Bibleline.

We’re going to now talk to Joyce in Clearwater. Joyce, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, sir. Isn’t this beautiful weather in the Lord? Oh, I’m telling you. Well, my question goes along pretty much what the other call is that it’s been talking about salvation. So if you’ll turn to Galatians 5, 4, please. All right, Christ has become of no effect unto you. Okay. Okay, no. I know the verse well. Now we talked Sunday about salvation, being unmerited grace. Yes. And it’s from God.

So our pastor really did throw us a curve. He said, okay, here we are. You are fallen from grace. And how many of you believe this is true? Well, of course, you know, how do anybody say it’s true? And then he went on to say, in this case, it’s true. So I’m just gonna ask your interpretation. I want your feedback, your point of view. All right. glad to do that. You know, Joyce, this is talking to unbelievers in verse 4, it says, Christ has become of no effect unto you.

And then notice it addresses those that are lost. Whosoever of you are justified by the law. If you’re going to attempt to be saved by the commandments that were given about Sinai by your works, then Christ will count nothing for you. You are fallen from grace. That is those that are trusting in their works to be saved. But notice how it changes in verse 5 from you, you in verse 4 to we, we, we in there’s five. We believers through the spirit wait for the hope of righteous and sound by faith.

Verse four they’re trying to be saved by the works of the law. They’re being justified by the law and those are the ones that are followed from grace and Christ will count nothing for them. But we verse five who by faith simply trusts Christ are justified before God and are saved and Christ counts everything for us. Okay now he said that there’s something to do with the Jewish people tasting grace and decided that they didn’t quite want to go that direction so they reverted back to the law and accepted the law as a way of salvation.

Do you get any interpretation whatsoever from that? Well, basically what happened is that they got saved and then they were misled by false teachers who came along and said they needed to go back and in addition keep the law and he says anybody was trying to keep the law to be saved will not be saved at all. So you can’t be saved by the law and Galatians 216 says, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we, Paul includes himself, have been justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

So if you attempt to be saved by the law, you won’t be justified. Christ will count nothing for you, you’re fallen from grace. But if you’re saved by faith, you are in and we’re going to be with the Lord because of what Jesus did for us. Okay, so then this really isn’t salvation. Verse 4 is talking about… These people really haven’t been saved. That’s right. Okay. And he’s warning them if they’re attempting to be saved by the law that they are going to want to have been held.

Exactly. So it is impossible to fall from grace. But these people never get what they want. Well, you can fall from grace, but you can’t fall from salvation. See what happens is these people were offered God’s grace as God’s grace is offered to everyone, Titus 2, 11 says the grace of God has appeared to all men. So God invites the whole human race to be saved, whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. So we’re all invited to be saved.

But if you say, well, I’m going to be saved on the basis of keeping the law or works, then you are rejecting grace and therefore you are fallen from grace. But once you become saved by grace, you’re stuck. You have to go to heaven you really like it or not. And that’s the difference. That’s the good news. Amen. That is the good news. And as we just said in the previous call, Jesus said, him that come up to me, I want to know why he’s cast out.

Once you trust Christ to save you, he’ll never cast you out. And in John 639, even better, he said he’d not lose any that have come to him. So you’re stuck, I’m stuck. I have to go to have a little like it or not. I’ve heard you say that promise over and over and that’s very fulfilling. So I just went to clarify this because it’s kind of iffy but you’ve made it very plain so thank you very much and have a great day well same to you bye bye now that was Joyce in Clearwater and wow I amazing how people get things mixed up but if you read the context here verse four is talking to people that are obviously lost Christ has become of no effect unto you any of you that are trying to be saved by the law justified by the law you are fallen from grace but we and now

writing to others that in the churches of Galatia and says we and Paul includes himself through the spirit. Paul wasn’t trying to be justified by the law. He already gives you several chapters telling you why that’s just He says, we through the spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. So the believer is saved by faith. The lost person falls from grace when he turns to the law to save him. He then falls from grace. Again, the phone number for Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771.

Copy it down so you can call us after the program is over. And also, we’d love to answer any other questions you might have. And then Sunday, if you want to come by for our morning worship, and we’d like to invite you to come and join us. We have one last call or Frank, and we don’t have much time, so that has to be really quick, Frank. Welcome to Babylon. Good morning, Dr. In the Bible, and I couldn’t find it where it talks about, let’s say, for example, a believer who’s attending a church that is not preaching the true gospel.

And I couldn’t find it. Where would I find that? All right, there’s several verses, but Ephesians 4, 11. 5-11, I believe it is. 4-11 or 5-11 says, I have no fellowship with the unproof works of darkness, but rather reprove them. And in Romans 16 verse 17 says, you’re to avoid them and get out of there. So if you’re in a bad church, you need to leave it. All right, I’m Dr. Inclinister. We have to run. The time is up.

But I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior because He alone can save you. He is the way, the truth, and the life. And no man can come to the Father, but by Him. I have to run, so we’ll be looking forward to joining you tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. and until then, keep looking up. Jesus is coming.
