We’d love to have you be a part of the program by listening and telling your friends and being a part of it. If you have your Bible there, open it. We’ll take a look at a couple of things. Did you know that Jonah died in the fish’s belly? You know, Jesus laid his credibility on the line when he said in Matthew 1240, As Jonah was three days and three nights in the fish’s belly, so is the son of man shall be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
If therefore the story of Jonah is not true, then the story of Christ is not true. If the story of Jonah is fiction, then the story of Christ is fiction. And you know, I can tell a lot about a preacher as to what he believes about the story of Jonah. If he doesn’t believe it’s true, if he doesn’t believe it is fact, He believes it’s a myth or fair tale then that tells me what he believes about Jesus because Jesus connected his own credibility to the fact that Jonah was a prophet that Jonah really was Swallowed up by a fish that Jonah was in that fish’s belly for three days and three nights and then We believe he died and was resurrected from the dead We believe in all of scriptures inspired of God and without and is without error second Timothy 16 tells us that.
And Jesus Christ clearly stated that Jonah was a prophet of God in Matthew 1239, also Luke 11 29. And also in 2 Kings 14 25 it states that Jonah was a prophet. Jesus said, oh fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken, Luke 24 25. So we believe all that the prophets have spoken and of course Jonah really spoke of Christ in the fact that His death, burial, and resurrection was a clear picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
Contrary to what many people have heard, Jonah was not swallowed by a whale. The Bible states that it was a fish. Now the King James translation uses the word whale, but actually the Greek word means fish, and what kind of fish? Well, it might have been a minnow. It says back in the book of Jonah that God prepared a fish. And so there may not be another one like it on the earth, but in the case we believe the story is true.
A whale is not a fish, a whale is a mammal. A whale has lungs and breathes air through its nostrils or vents leading to its lungs. And of course Matthew 1240 says, well, but the King James translated it well, but actually the Greek word kittas means a large fish. Certainly God could have prepared a minnow if he had wanted to, and all too often we have a picture which is distorted as from what the Bible really says. Many think of Jonah as a fairy tale.
The Jonah sat in a chair at a table in the fishes belly and there was a candle burning on the table and pictures hung around the fishes belly. The Jonah patiently waited out the three days and three nights until he was vomiting it out on the dry land. But guess what the Bible teaches that Jonah died in the fishes belly. It’s amazing how many people think that Jonah lived in the fishes belly and therefore well meaning Christians seek high and low turning heaven and earth upside down in search of a fish that would prove that somebody could survive inside a fishes belly.
Well Jonah said that he went down to Sheol. Now Sheol is the Hebrew word for the place in the heart of the earth where the dead went after they died. And it was in the heart of the earth. And in Jonah 2, Jonah said, I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. You know, the earth’s crust is somewhere on an average of eight to twelve miles deep. And so the bottoms of the mountains go way down deep into that crust of the earth, which is then floating on a liquid magma, which is the molten interior of our planet.
And Jonah says that he went down into the heart of the earth. The earth with her bars was about me forever, he said. But then he spoke of a resurrection, yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, oh Lord my God. Jonah 2, 6, look it up for yourself. So Jonah’s soul was in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. Exactly as Christ was in the heart of the earth, three days and three nights. Let me quote that verse again for you in Matthew 1240, as Jonah was three days and three nights in the fishes belly.
Social of Son and man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. That’s where the dying thief went. Remember he believed and Jesus said to him today, now shall be with me in paradise. Well, Jesus went into the heart of the earth. The dying thief went into the heart of the earth. Guess what? The apostles’ creed is wrong. The apostles’ creed said that Jesus descended into hell. Wrong answer. Jesus never went to hell. Jesus went to paradise in the heart of the earth.
It’s amazing how people can just give it a little freedom, go so far away from the Bible to say that Christ ever went to hell. And I’ve heard all kinds of stories about how he fought with demons and fought with the devil and then he defeated Satan in hell. That’s not true. He defeated Satan at the cross. Jesus in his last words on the cross said, it is finished. And by the way, those three words are one word in the Greek.
The word is to tell us diets in a counting term, really. It means paid in full. satisfaction received for the debt. Jesus didn’t pay for one sin beyond the cross. He did not pay for one sin during the time that he was buried. He did not pay for one sin through his resurrection. He paid for all of our sins, past, present, and future on the cross of Calvary. And when you trust that Jesus died and paid for your sin at the cross, God gives you the gift of everlasting life.
By the way, Jonah was in tombed. His body was entombed in the fish’s belly, just like Christ’s body was placed in a tomb that was sealed with a huge stone and a Roman guard was placed outside. And Jonah’s soul went into the heart of the earth into paradise. Jesus’s soul went into the heart of the earth into paradise. And then Jonah was resurrected and he came back into that body that was in the tomb, the tomb of the fish’s belly.
And then the whale, or not the whale, the fish spitting him up on the shore. And he went about his ministry. Christ also came back out of the heart of the earth, entered into that body that was in the tomb. That body was resurrected. And then of course Christ for 40 days showed himself alive to his apostles. It’s a wonderful, wonderful story. We’re coming up hard and fast on Resurrection Sunday. I hope if you’ve been listening to me, you won’t use the E word.
What is the U word? I hate to pronounce it, but I will. Easter. You know who Easter is? Easter is the mother of Baal. In the Old Testament, her name, Astroth, appears throughout the pages of the Old Testament. Drop the last three letters and Astroth and you have Ash-star. The English form is E-star and, of course, we say Easter, and she is the mother of Baal. She’s a sex goddess. She’s a goddess of fertility. That’s why the bunny rabbits and the eggs all speak of sex and rapid reproduction and fertility has nothing to do with Christianity.
I recommend we dump that lady’s name and let’s use the R word. So we call it Resurrection Sunday. And what about everything else? Well, we just use the R word. It’s Resurrection Candy. It’s Resurrection Lily’s. If a lady has a beautiful special dress for that occasion, it’s a Resurrection dress. Forget this E word stuff, let’s get rid of it. And if you’ll join me with that, that’ll be great. I think you’ll be feeling better about yourself, not using a pagan sex goddess as the name you tell people that you celebrate, which is embarrassing when you know what that’s all about.
Most people don’t even know. I saw a form of her in a hotel I stayed at in Turkey. And there she was in the hotel lobby. I wanted to cover my head every time I walked to the lobby. Here was this woman with 18 exposed breasts on her chest. That’s Easter. I was terribly embarrassed. I kind of put my hand over my eyes as I went by. But you know, that is Easter. And if that’s what you’re celebrating, then, goodness sakes.
I hope you’re not. I celebrate the death, the burial, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we hope that you will be doing the same. Let’s get rid of the E word. Let’s talk about the R word. And if you don’t think I’m telling you the truth, just go to your encyclopedic. You can find out that I’m right. Just go to your Bible, you’ll not find the word Easter, except in one place, Acts chapter 12, verse four. That’s a mistranslation, and there in Acts 12, four, we have the original, the Greek word, is the word for Passover, and unfortunately in 1611, they translated it at Easter, but that’s the only time you find it in the New Testament.
This is by the line, I’m Dr. Anglinson, I’m gonna give you the phone number, and you’re welcome to call us, it’s 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. By the way, in our Resource Center, we have a new book by Tim LaHaye called The Rapture, Hardback Beautiful Book, covers all the different positions and defends the pre-trivational rapture position. You’ll find it an excellent book. I’ve really enjoyed it, and it’s for a gift of $20 to Bible, and you can have that book. And that’s The Rapture by Tim LaHaye.
We also have Tim by Tim Lihay the book charting the End Times, $25, but it has beautiful color charts that outline God’s plan of the ages. You’ll find it a very attractive book and children are attracted to it because of the beautiful pictures and charts and a wonderful book to sit down with your child and outline some of the wonderful truths from God’s word that are beautifully portrayed in the portraits and the charts that are within the book. So those are some of the things that we have that are new and we have a lot of other things that are in our resource center including not only the Scofield Bible but we have it in Spanish and we have it in Spanish in English.
And we have it hard back in one another and I think you’ll, if you like reading the scriptures out of the Spanish you could have the advantage of the Spanish Scofield notes and you’ll enjoy that thoroughly. We’re going to Tampa. We’re going to take our first caller today. This is Yvonne. Yvonne, welcome to Bibleline. Great to have you with us today. Hi, I’ve heard in the past couple weeks or so a couple of the radio preachers on the station commenting how every generation since Paul has believed that they were the generation that was going to see the Rapture.
And it makes me wonder, I know I’ve heard their explanations, but basically they’re both saying the same thing that we’re just supposed to be ready at all times, looking forward to the rapture at all times. But on the other hand it makes me wonder, you know, there are very credible Bible teachers that don’t believe in the rapture. I mean, and these are very credible hand-cannagraphs. How are we wrong and he’s right? It’s hard to know. I mean, we’re right in Israel.
I’m sorry. I said we’re right and he’s wrong. But actually what has happened? What has happened to Hank Hennigraphe and these others that and they are of the Reformation theology point of view. And what happened is that beginning with Augustine in the 5th century he taught that God was done with Israel and that there was no future on planet earth for Israel and God’s plans and that God had substituted the church for Israel and therefore they took all the promises of the church.
for themselves, of course they didn’t take the curses of against Israel for themselves, but just the promises. And so that theology also came right over through the Reformation to those that are really hot on Reformation theology. And so basically they just said there is no future for Israel. So they all believe that Israel was done for an 80-70 Christ returned and all his power and all his glory and all his angels. And of course you couldn’t see him but he came back in and they don’t have any, they have to say that the passages that you and I would turn to don’t really mean what they say.
And that’s exactly what they all do. They say, well, it doesn’t really mean that. And then they give you this spin that Armageddon happened at the cross and they just read all these kind of things into it that aren’t there. And they really have to abandon a literal interpretation of the Bible to come up with that view. They don’t believe that the Kingdom is future, the thousand year earthly reign of Christ. I spoke at MacDillar Force Base to a large banquet.
We had about 11 chaplains there and I threw it open for questions and answers which I like to do. And all of them were disagreeing in one of them was saying we’re in the Kingdom right now. And I said well if we’re in the Kingdom let’s go ahead and take the challenge and I’ll lead the way. Let’s go out to Bush Gardens. The Bible says in Isaiah chapter 11 that during the kingdom the lion will eat straw like the ox.
I tell you what I’ll do, I’ll bring some straw, you bring your arm. We’ll go to the lion’s cage, you stick your arm in, I’ll stick the straw in. If the lion goes for the straw, we’re in the kingdom. If the lion goes for your arm, then you’re wrong. And nobody wants to take that challenge. They know that the lion is going to go for the meat, not the straw today, but in the millennium, there are specific things that are going to happen.
And obviously they They put a new spin on all this and say, well, that’s not spiritual. It doesn’t really mean literal straw and all that kind of stuff. And so you really have to say, what does the Bible say? Just don’t get mixed up by listening to too many different voices because they will mix you up. Well, you know, the thing that has made me wonder is that Hank can’t agree for one, but others also are such great Bible expositors.
When they talk about some of the other major issues, yes, because a lot of the wonderful truths that were discovered to us out of the Reformation went back to the true gospel of salvation by faith, the Bible being the inspired Word of God, and these are all things that I applaud in Hank Granny and Hennigraphe and all these people. But they didn’t get rid of all the baggage that they should have when they left the Reformation. And there are many things that are done in reformation churches that are still tied to Roman Catholic theology and bad theology that they never cleaned up.
And that’s really where it is. What is your explanation for why every generation has thought they would be… Well, we’re always to look for the Lord’s return and there are not real specific signs for the rapture, but there are numerous clear signs for the Second Coming. And we’re already seeing those. For the second coming, the Jews have to be back in the state of Israel. They are. For the second coming, the nations of the earth have to be aligned against Israel.
And they are. All the 22 nations around Israel, Arab nations, don’t even recognize her existence and want to see her destroyed. For the second coming, we would see incurable diseases. Boy, we’ve seen a host of those come up here lately, including AIDS, the Ebola virus, the West Nile virus. and now even common things like staff can kill us. We’re just one antibiotic ahead of some of these smart germs today, and plagues are predicted and earthquakes in diverse places. And also the alignment of the nations as we see them.
The whole Middle East has come to life since World War I. Prior to World War I, the Turkish Empire from the 1500s right down until World War I was one great big empire, the Ottoman Empire, which after World War I, all of a sudden all these ancient countries begin to pop back up on the playing board. And that’s an incredible fulfillment. of biblical prophecy and I went to the encyclopedia and did a little looking at that kind of stuff and did you know that Iraq became a country in 1932?
Syria became a country in 1941. Lebanon became a country in 1946. Israel declared here in dependency in 1948. Jordan became a country in 1927. Turkey became a country in 1923. and Libya became a country in 1951, Ethiopia 1930. And these are all players in the End Times prophecies which are now popping a pickup on the world stage that if you go back 100 years ago, they weren’t there. That’s amazing. I think we’re really on the edge of the Lord’s return and because we’re seeing things that will happen that are direct clear signs given for the tribulation period and the seven years that precedes the second coming because we already see those now the rapture’s got to be close okay thanks thanks a lot thank you a lot and i i understand exactly what you’re saying and i would recommend this book that we mentioned this morning this one
uh… deals with the very issues you just talked about is by tim lehay and it is called the rapture and he answers exactly what you’re saying and how that if you uh… believe as it as the preterist do which uh… RC sprawl and hand can’t graph another’s are you have to just spiritualize passages and not take them literally The Bible and phone number is one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one We have Marsha that just called in and Marsha is not on the line But Marsha from Tampa says did Jonah go to paradise or to Hades guess what?
Hades is equal that’s a Greek word equal to the Hebrew word shield s h e o l it is the hollow place in the heart of the earth. Now that hollow place in the heart of the earth, Marsha, was divided into two compartments. One was paradise. The other was a part of flame and torment where the lost would go. And the lost still go there and are still there since the beginning of time. But the believers were taken out of paradise and paradise has now been removed.
And you can read about that in Ephesians chapter 4 verses 8 through 10, where it says when Christ ascended, He led a group captive and took them up to heaven. And that captive group was all the Old Testament saints who were waiting for their salvation to be paid for. And so Jonah went to Paradise because he was a believer and a prophet of God. And so did the dying thief. And he was a perfect picture of Christ because as he went to Paradise and then was resurrected from the dead.
So did Christ go to Paradise and was resurrected from the dead. Remember the verse Luke 23 43. Christ said to the dying thief, today thou shalt be with me where? In Paradise. So Paradise was in the heart of the earth. Matthew 12 40 said he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. We’re going to go to Janet in Sarasota and Janet. Welcome to the Bible and program. Good morning Dr. Hank. Has anybody, I didn’t get to listen to the program yesterday.
Has anybody called in regarding the Baby and Mel’s movie? Nobody has given us an answer. We’ve heard, well, somebody gets speculated, but. Well, my daughter called me this morning and she received an email from somebody regarding an article that appeared in Christianity Today by Mark Moring. that was a direct quote from either Mel or his publicist. And he said he’s, he shows Satan as an androgynous person, somewhat alluring and attractive. It was played by a female actress and they shaved her eyebrows and shot it in slow motion and dubbed in a man’s voice.
Says the devil takes what is good and distorts to what is evil. Instead of a normal mother and child which evokes tender thought. He shows a 40-year-old baby with hair on its back. He said it’s weird and shocking. And that’s what he wanted. When the scourging of Christ back was over, you thought it was finished. And then they turned him over and began again on his chest and stomach. And that’s the exact time the devil and the baby appeared.
So evidently he was going to show the you know the very close ties between good and evil and how the devil i guess that try to emulate a lot of things of christian and christianity but uh… anybody i get can get on to this christianity today website and maybe that’s where it’s shown okay well you have really enlightened us thank you uh… jana we appreciate that call okay well thank you very much and i love your program thank you so much i that was Janet and Sarah Sood.
I knew somebody out there would come up with those answers for us. And it’s really a pleasure to. . . . . . . . If you don’t have a church to attend the Sunday, we’d like to have you come and worship with us. We’ll have the Lord suffer the Sunday before the morning worship at 9.45. That’ll be over at 10.15. And at 10.30 we’ll have our morning worship. At 6 PM in the evening we’ll have our evening worship and we’re in a wonderful study, verse by verse in the book of Acts.
We’d love to have you come and sit in on that study and be a part of us. So come on by. And of course you can come by today. and take a look at our bookstore and come by and say, hi, we’re here till about three this afternoon. I hope you will take us up on that offer and come by. We have people every day that drop by. And it’s just wonderful to get to meet you. I had a lady yesterday come by.
And she so appreciated this program as she talked about it. Tears begin to stream out of both eyes and down across her cheeks and drop onto the floor. And she was so thankful to have found the Bibleline program. And she said just to hear the truth and to be assured of my salvation was worth everything. And that was a real pleasure to meet a listener like that and all of you that come by. We just delight in getting to meet you.
So come on by, you’re welcome. And again the address is 4811 George Road. We’re right next to Tampa’s airport and we’re easy to find. So please come on by. And we have Glenn in Tampa and Glenn, welcome to Bibleline Glenn, are you there? Yeah, it’s like a, here you know, how you doing? Good. We don’t have much time before break, so give me your question. Okay, my question is about the rapture, I’ll get right to it. I heard on a television program that this particular pastor does not believe that we’re going to be that we’re going to be taken out because of what Job’s gone through, what is the number of prophets and Bible.
When we’ll continue this after the break, so hold on there. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is Bibleline. And we’re going to take a short break and we’ll be right back. And I hope that you will stay tuned. Don’t change that now. I’ll be right back after this short break to take your question. If Bibleline will be back in a moment to pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright I’m Dr. Englund, it’s great to be with you today.
Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We appreciate you and all of our listeners and we hope that you’re enjoying the program every day. This is Friday and that means we won’t be back live on the radio till Monday. But you can watch our worship services on Sunday and throughout the week by clicking on the camera on the homepage of our website that’s BibleLineMinistries.org. You can catch our radio programs over the weekend and throughout the year, anytime of day or night, by clicking on the spinning globe.
You can catch our television programs from anywhere in the world by clicking on the television set. I hope you’ll do all of that and enjoy the different teachings that we have available to you, including our Resource Center where we have so many wonderful books and Bibles and dictionaries and things that will help you, things that I would recommend to you that would be a great help. We’re excited about being with you every day, Monday through Friday, and of course we’re listeners supported, and we could not be on the air without your financial help.
So thank God for all of you who give. Thank you for those that gave during our crises last week and the Lord met that need and we need the regular support from all of our listeners. If you could help a little bit, that would be great. No gift is too small. You can call and give a gift by credit card over the phone. You can also call and get an envelope to be sent to you with our dress on it and mail your gift into Bibleline.
But your gifts are so appreciated and certainly without your help we could not be on the air. We’re talking about another trip to Israel and it looks like we’ll settle on a departure date of February 11th for those that want to go on the option to Egypt and to Jordan and to a lot on the Red Sea. And those then that would want to go just on the Israel portion, it would leave on Monday, the following Monday after the 11th of February.
I forget that date, but it’ll be then 10 days exclusively in Israel. So you can do all of the trip 15 days or you can do just the Israel alone portion. If you want to call and get your name on the list, we’ll send your brochure. As we should be getting those printed shortly and within the next several weeks we’ll have a brochure to mail to you about the 2009 trip leaving for the extension on Wednesday the 11th of February and those going just for Israel only would leave on Monday following that and be in Israel for a full 10 days and then we’ll all come back together.
Well, we’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break into the second half-hour Bible and so keep you ready to tune right where it is. Here we begin part two. You continue in your area. You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break and this is Bible and I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. You know, when we say sometimes that we’re right and somebody else is wrong, I hope you understand that as long as we are in line with Scripture, we are right.
And when we’re not in line with Scripture, we’re not right. Often, as people will try to pit one Bible teacher against another and say, who is right? And I have to say that the one that is in line with Scripture is right because the Scripture is the Word of God. Scripture’s truth and if you are proclaiming Scripture, then you are teaching the truth. And you know the Bible is very clear that there is a rapture. First thessalonians 4, 17 speaks about people that are alive and remain will be caught up.
And that’s really what the word rapture means. It’s better than having it in the word rapture because nobody knows what that means. You have to go to the dictionary. But the Bible says those will be caught up in the air to meet the Lord in the clouds. And so shall we ever be with the Lord. So the Bible is very clear about that. And we have Glenn still on the line with us and Glenn, let’s pick up where we left off.
Okay, Pastor, I do believe that we will be raptured, but he did spark my interest and he brought up Job’s name, how Job had to go through a horrible time in his life. And he talked about, you know, Jonah and he talked about several other key people in the Bible. And he said, why are we any different? Why wouldn’t we go through this seven years if we stand faithful? And I’m not, I didn’t take a side, but he did spark my interest.
Well, obviously there’s a difference between tribulation trials in our life and a period that is called the Tribulation, that is also described as the time of Jacob’s trouble when God is going to bring trials and judgments upon the earth. In the book of Revelation, chapters 4 through 19 are a commentary on that tribulation period and there are 28 specific judgments that are mentioned. 7 seals which are 7 judgments, 7 trumpets which are 7 judgments, 7 thunders which are 7 judgments, 7 bold judgments which are 7 judgments.
That’s 7 that’s 4, 28 judgments without all the other things that are going to be happening during that time that are clearly predicted to happen here on this earth. And we go through trials here, yes, I mean, I’ve gone through trials in my life, but you know, they don’t, they haven’t at least thus far deterred me. I lost my son 16 years of age in a car accident 10 years ago. My daughter was in a car accident last year and broke two arms in a leg this past year and I’ve, I can rattle off all the trials I’ve been through, but I tell you, I’m still just as excited about the Lord today and I know that these things happen for a reason.
I know Satan’s after my case and he doesn’t like what I’m doing on the year and so I’m a target and I realize that. And so like Paul said in Acts chapter 20 he says when he knew that dangers and tribulations were ahead of him the Holy Spirit let him know. He said none of these things move me. Neither count I my life dear unto myself that I may finish my course with joy and the ministry which the Lord gave me, the ministry of preaching the gospel of the grace of God.
So we have to set our face like a flint and move on, not let the circumstances of life, and there’s many times I could have jumped off the track. But I’m determined with God’s help to stay with it until He comes for me. And so the fact that we go through trials is not, doesn’t exempt or make a difference as concerning that the great trial, which will come upon all the earth that we are going escape and not be there at all.
That’s a very good point. I’m glad you put that at me in that light. The passion of Christ. Did you talk about it? I’m sure you talked about it. I probably missed it. Did you think it was a little? I thought that’s exactly the way it was. It’s kind of hard for the person viewing it to take it all in. If you had been there, think about how much worse it would have been to actually be a spectator on the spot.
You can do it from the film and still be a little bit back off from it. It was terrible. It was horrible. It was horrific crime against an innocent person. It was a horrific crime. man to take his life but yet he gave his life for all of us so that we could be safe. Oh I know I was removed and I believe that’s how it happened myself. Absolutely there was flaws in the film but the big point was right on Christ died he died for our sins and then of course at the end he was resurrected.
Okay well thank you Dr. Hanks. Okay Glenn thank you for your call. Thank you. the phones are ringing. We’re trying to get people up on the air. We’ll do our best. 1-800-576-3771. Let our operator know if you’re a first-time caller because we always like to send a gift out to those that called in for the first time. And so you’re in for that if you are a first-time caller. Let our operator know. Also, we want to thank all of you who give the Bibleline every week.
We have to pay to be on the radio. It is expensive. I don’t get paid to be on the radio. I don’t know. Some people think, oh, he gets paid to be on the radio. Well, I wish that were true, but it’s not true. And nor does our staff, we have volunteers here doing this program, and we thank God for them. But we have to pay the station. It’s very expensive, over 100,000 a year to be on the air, so you can figure the math on that.
And if you would like to help us be a Bible-ign partner to vote to keep this program going, we’d appreciate your help. If you can’t give us anything, that’s OK, too. We love you just as much. We’re trusting God each week to supply. And He’s doing it through people just like you who enjoy the program and say, this is, this has got to continue. This has got to stay on the air. I, I every week, I just sit back and say, this is a miracle.
Because without you, the listeners saying, we like this program, we support this program, we’d be off the air. And every week, there we are. We’re on the air again. And it happens a different way every weekend. So we know it’s gone. because we don’t have a piggy bank. We don’t have a reserve account. We trust God every week for the money and it comes. And all I can say is thank you Lord and thank you, you listeners who are part of our Bibleline family.
We certainly do appreciate you. All right, we are going to the phone lines again. They’re starting to ring over here, 1-800-576. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And we had a caller just call in Armando in St. Petersburg. He’s not on the line. He couldn’t stay. But he left a question about Luke chapter 24, verses 20 and 21. And he says, in verse 21, what day were they talking about? OK. In verse 21, it says, we trusted that it had been he, which had redeemed Israel.
And beside all this, today is the third day since these days were done. So I believe he’s talking about that it was since Thursday, the Passover when Christ was crucified and three days had passed since then and Christ was now risen. Of course, they didn’t realize that until Christ revealed himself there to them and they were actually walking and talking with Jesus himself who had been crucified and now was risen. We’re going to go to Jeff and Tampa. Jeff is on the line and welcome to Bibleline.
Hey, Jeff. Hey, just from things, events in the world, basically the question involves just the deception of the actual, even people in the church in regards to just modern evangelicalism and republicanism. And that fusing together, I was wondering are there any things in the Bible that point to that, that I could look up scripturally, that could show the deception of how that can be leading into the one-world government and scriptures that, you know, us Christians need to look out for even within evangelical circles and republican circles.
Well, you know, I can’t say that there’s one particular passage that you would turn to, but definitely as you look at the prophetic passages and revelation in other places you can see where the world is going ahead. In fact, you know, all the nations began back in Iraq and you read about that in Genesis 10 and 11, where God at the Tower of Babel confounded the languages and the nations were spawned as the people went out to the different parts of the world and the nations began.
At the same time Israel was founded as God selected a man named Abraham out of Iraq and said I want you to go to a land that I’ll show you and I’ll make a nation of you. Of course, it would be God’s witnesses and would bring about the scriptures and also bring about the Messiah. And he said that this people would be a witness for Him. And of course, the Jewish people, the fact that they exist today is a marvel in itself and is one of the reasons why you have to say scripture is accurate, boy.
You know, when they entered the Promised Land, there were seven nations in the Promised Land, greater and mightier than Israel. the hitites, the parasites, the Jebusites, and all these people, the flistines. Where are they today? And God said that Israel would be a nation before him forever. All those nations are gone. In fact, some critics of the Bible a couple hundred years ago said they never even existed. That was just a fairy tale. But today, of course, the spade of the archeologists has demonstrated that all these civilizations were there.
They worked truly mighty like the Bible said, greater than this little teeny people that came out of Egypt that became the nation of Israel and yet they are gone and Israel exists and it’s these kind of things that demonstrate the accuracy of the Bible. But at the other end of the Bible we have God judging the system that is called Babylon which is a political system and a religious system called Babylon and you can see that the system that began back at the Tower of Babel still exists today and that is a materialism, commercialism and an attempt to make one world religion that actually will have a woman, very prominent in that system.
In Revelation 17, six times it says the woman, the woman, the woman. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out what religious system that is because there’s only one religious system in the world that puts a woman at the top. And so God makes it very simple for people that have difficulty comprehending the Bible like it figure out this one and so that the whole as you look at that overall scheme and especially taking a look at the book of revelation in the other profit experience you can get a handle on on where it’s going and what’s what’s right what’s wrong in god’s eyes yeah and i mean what i see is also i mean i would not mention any names you know but there are even you know even jellicle pastors that are in league with the world council churches which is a
i call the world council of confusion myself and uh… also you know we have people in political circles that are part of the occultic skull and bone society and uh… you know i know the bible says to take our eyes off men you know so we we are object is to save souls that’s our pride focus but i see people even in the church put in their eyes on you know evangelical leaders into one world of our religion is them and into you know political figures that maybe professing christians but are still admitted proponents of far you know certain secret it’s it is tough today i’ll tell you have to uh…
do the best you can as a christian to vote for those who who best will represent our views as believers yet the same time we have to realize we cannot put our trust in man because men will always let us down did you know that the very middle verse of the Bible and I thought this was so fascinating. If you’re just to take the very middle verse of the Bible, it is Psalm 1 18 8. And Psalm 1 18 8 says, it is better to put trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
Amen. And I’ll tell you that says it, just open your Bible right to the square of the middle. The very middle verse of the Bible is Psalm 1 18 8. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Man will always let you down, but God will never let you down. Thanks, Hank. Alright, you’re welcome. This is Bible and I’m Dr. Englundstrom. It’s great to be with you. Thanks again for tuning in. You’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771.
1-800-576-3771. We have some wonderful soul-winning tools in our resource center. We have a track that almost does the work totally for you. I’ve led at least a half a dozen people to Christ in the past two weeks with this track. You give them a quiz. They usually fail it. And then the answers are right there with the verses quoted. It leads you right through the gospel and brings you to a place where you invite them to trust Christ as Savior.
It works. It’s powerful. I’m not guaranteeing that everybody you talk to will get saved if they take this quiz. But I find a good percentage most in fact. At least I’m very successful with this track in leading people to Christ. We have another track called a free ticket. is kind of fun, kind of humorous, kind of light, and yet the clear gospel is there, and we’ve seen people getting saved through that track. We also have CDs and audio tapes, and we have one particular CD and audio tape that has led hundreds and hundreds of people to Christ.
I just talked to a person the night before last, and he was driving to see his girlfriend in another state. I had given him the CD. He played it the first time through, he just shut it off. He said he got angry at me, he didn’t like it. Then he got bored and put it on and said he’d check it out again. By the time he listened to it the fifth time he says I got saved. Now he’s just telling me he wants to go to Peru on missionary work this summer.
So what a change about from a guy who didn’t want to hear it to now wants to serve the Lord. He’s saved and is excited and I talked to him up in Rochester, New York on the phone and he is just as excited as can be and was so delighted that we got to speak and said, wow, that just made his day and his week to be able to talk. We so hope that you will take advantage of some of the things that we have here and if you’ll call our operators, they can advise you and or I can talk to you about it and we’ll try to help you out.
We have a caller from Spring Hill and we have Scott on the line. Welcome to my line. Good morning. Good morning. I was curious, I had Tony ask me a question after seeing the question about the raven scene where one of the people on the cross with Christ was the thief that rejected Christ, the ravens came and plucked his eyes out. Right, and is that in the Bible? I thought I had always heard that, but I never, I couldn’t find it this morning when I was looking through the gospel.
So I didn’t know if you knew where that was or if that even exists. That is related to the scene on the cross, but there is a place where somebody that was cursed had their eyes plucked out. But apparently they decided to shift it over to him because he was a representative of those who reject Christ, who really all of us who are lost are under God’s curse. And we won’t experience that until we die if we’re lost. But if we become a believer, of course we are no longer under the curse because Jesus himself was made a curse force according to relations 313.
So Scott, no, there’s nothing in the Bible related to the dying thief having his eyes pucked out, but apparently they may have taken that from another part of the Bible as a person who was cursed might have their eyes pucked out. I say, okay, I thought I heard something about it, but I didn’t recall where and now I know why I didn’t hear the thing about it. That’s it. Okay, do you off the prop your head nowhere that might be in the Bible?
I really don’t know where that one is. I have a feeling it’s back there in Deuteronomy or something, but I’ll have to get my concordance out after the program is over to try to find it. I don’t think it’d be very hard. Do you have a good concordance at your house? Normally I go on the line and there’s a couple different ones that are put in the line. i or the word plucked that you probably would find it in the heartbeat maybe one of our listeners will do that i don’t have a concordance uh…
in my hand i’d have to walk across the room here full of my shelf but we can look at that this morning and i could not find it anywhere with those with those words well uh… i thought those had things and i don’t like it all but um… but anyway that least i guess it’s my idea on what it was and what it wasn’t and uh… well i was looking at the gospels i was looking at the whole Bible, so maybe that’s the reason.
Yeah, it’s in the Old Testament, I’m sure. Thank you, Scott. Okay, bye. Not by that was Scott in Spring Hill. And again, pray for us as we try to expand this ministry. And we’re just asking the Lord to guide our steps and we certainly need your prayers. And of course, we need your help as well. A lady at the beginning of this week is the first one who’s sending the gift for our expansion. And we hope that that’ll happen.
We had another dear lady who thought that that our expansion would take me away from being able to minister to her on the radio. And for that lady, if you’re listening now, we’re not going to leave you or abandon you for sure. So I don’t feel threatened by the fact that we’d go to other places that we wouldn’t be able to take your questions and minister to hear you that are here locally. We’re going to go to Dwight and Clearwater and Dwight, welcome to the Bible and program.
Good morning. Good morning. Oh, Hank. You sounded a good mood today. Oh, sorry. said you sound like you’re in a good mood today. I always found this way when I’m confused. Revelation 13-3. I was cruising through it last night and I looked at Scofield’s notes and he seems to think that the wounding of the head was the government of the first Roman This is what I’m getting at and the wound that should be unto death that is brought back to life will be a government rebirth of the Roman government, an empire-type state.
But then you go, you read further and it actually persists in the sound. He talks about the person of the Antichrist. So both could be true. Many times there’s more than one meaning to a passage that doesn’t contradict but gives you a fuller, deeper understanding of the passage. But definitely the Antichrist will have some sort of a wound. It could be a political wound where the guy looks like he’s dead as far as a political leader and as all of a sudden resurrected to great power to be the Antichrist himself.
I’m so tempted to say something but I won’t. You know, I don’t know. I think I may be knowing what you’re thinking even. But anyway, we just have to wait and see. And you know, as we get closer, our eyesight becomes clear. And I think in the tribulation period in particular, this will be very clear for all those reading it. And they won’t even have to second guess anything. But as we approach it, everything is getting clearer. approach uh…
the closeness of the order turned up the scriptures are becoming really a lot right so it could be actually nip a parallel uh… type thing like uh… as far as the beast i mean the beast now reading further uh… in his commentary he believes that there’s two beasts one and and back during history some believe that when he rose killed they thought he was the antichrist they thought he’d come back from the dead right and that his deadly wound would be healed and he’d become the antichrist so we’ll just have to wait and see We got lots more collars here at Dwight, so let me move on to those.
Thank you for calling. Sure buddy. It was Dwight in Clearwater. We now have coming up here in a second. We got a couple of guys that have been waiting here on hold, so we’ll put them up on the air as soon as we can. Again, please take a look at our resource center or call in. If you have a need, we have the Schofield Bible in English. We have it in Spanish. We also have the Spanish English Schofield Bible.
One page is Spanish. pages English side by side. That’s exciting. We have concordances. We have Bible dictionaries. We have commentaries. And we had a question that was answered by the commentary that’s my favorite earlier in the week. We talked about a passage in Hebrews. It talked about the furniture and the holy of holies. And imagine the error was supposed. And the Jameson Possett Brown commentary just cleared it up in a heartbeat. And we have that here in its underbridged form and it’s wonderful it’s my favorite commentary written over a hundred years ago we have hosey in st p o hosey can you see a lot of that song and i think i do it with them here and i can you see from a st p is it’s clear skies over there yeah real nice beautiful well as we can we do for you good to hear your voice
good talk to you too um… quick question uh… you know how there’s uh… the tribulation period starts after the church era and in revelation exactly what is that uh… called that they have a specific name are they just called witnesses that that are here uh… sharing the gospel after the rapture or after the uh… rapture the bible talks about in revelation seven verses of four all through eight about a hundred and forty four thousand jewish men there will be god’s witnesses and they’re simply called a hundred forty worth thousand witnesses uh…
but uh… they they are going to be the main evangelist and through their evangelism millions of all nations in kidders and tongues get saved according to revelation seven verse nine so uh… god is basically going to uh… after the rapture at during this past two thousand years he’s used us gentiles as his witnesses but now god is going to go back to using israel again is god is going to be back online preparing israel to receive their king in a sabich’s kingdom where he’ll be king of the earth and king of the jews and so we’re about to see arals uh…
change up here when the rapture happens from turning to the gentiles to go turning back to the jews i have a few more question to ask you but i know you’re short on time uh… just wanted to encourage your audience to share that you know it you know when they can that track that you were talking about earlier uh… i get a chance to hear that fairly regularly and i get some smile when i give that track to people and it is unbelievable i mean sometimes to you know my unit i think because it happened to me uh…
people are praying for guidance and for assurance uh… because uh… they are so misled these days spiritually that you know when you can’t and that could be an answer to their prayers Well, absolutely. And it makes it fun to witness. I have fun with that quiz. I’ll tell you. And usually the person that you’re talking to has fun. And so it makes it an enjoyable experience. I remember as a brand new believer being told about witnessing and it scared the life out of me, I said, this is going to be a real awkward situation and people are probably going to start throwing things at me and laughing at me.
And this makes it a fun experience. And you have fun, the person you’re talking to has fun, and often they’ll receive the Lord as their Savior. Exactly. And I mean just the thought that you could possibly be part of an answer to a prayer. You’re letting God guide you to help this person understand about that blessed assurance. Amen. We have those in bundles of a hundred for those who would want to order some from our bookstore. That’ll help Bibleline and it’ll help you and you’re witnessing.
Thank you, Jose. Have a great day. You too. Alright, that was Jose and say Pete, we got time maybe to get one more caller. And then we’re going to be gone for the weekend. I hope you attend church someplace and I hope you attend of a good church where the Bible is taught, Christ is proclaimed, souls are getting saved, people are being challenged, and things are happening for God. And I hope that you are in church on Sunday. You know the Bible is clear about Hebrews 10, 25 that we’re not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together.
And it says, so much the more we ought to be encouraging people to assemble as we see the day of Christ’s return approaching. So for that earlier caller this morning, you can see see the approach of Christ coming on the horizon. It’s getting close. And we’re excited about that. If you’ve never trusted Christ, just whisper that prayer right now. God, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much, but I believe Jesus died for me. Was buried in Rosalghine from the dead.
I trust Him right now as my Savior is my only hope of heaven. And the moment you do, God, up in heaven will save you. Then make that second choice in your life to serve Him, to be a disciple of Christ. And God will bless you and reward you.
