Lindstrom’s teaching for today. Let’s take a couple of minutes and look over in Isaiah 28 where talks about the Jewish people They’re pressed right to the limits. They’re willing to make any kind of deal they can. And apparently the Antichrist will guarantee their peace. But look at what it says here. And I believe in Isaiah 28 verse 14, we have God speaking to the very people ruling Israel today in the Israeli parliament, in the Israeli government. This is a message that is really addressed to them right now.
Wherefore, Chapter 20 of Isaiah 736 is the page number, wherefore, hear the word of the Lord, and how does he address the leadership of the government of Israel right now? You scornful men that rule this people, which is in Jerusalem. Have you heard some of the words of Sharon lately? He has mocked those who believe the Bible promises, and told them they needed to get real.
And basically, he’s taken a position that we gotta solve this ourselves without God. God is saying, you need to hear my word. You scornful men that basically scorn me and you’re ruling the people which are Jerusalem. You’re making some very, very bad mistakes that I believe Sharon is and the Israeli government today is making big bad mistakes. and they’re going to get what they ask for. They’re going to get the Antichrist. Verse 15, because you have said, we have made a covenant with death and with hell are we at agreement.
In other words, they’re going to buy into what the Antichrist will promise them and they will be at agreement with him. When the overflowing scourge shall pass through, the Israelis will say it will not come into us. For we have made lies our refuge and their falsehood who we hit ourselves. So they think they’re going to be safe because they have the guarantee of the Antichrist that they’ll have peace and they’re making a serious mistake. God says, listen to me.
Therefore, let’s say, if the Lord God behold, I lay in Zion, Jerusalem, for a foundation, a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation. He He even believed that basically on Him shall not make haste. Christ is that stone. Christ is the stone that the Bible is talking about here. And when you trust in him, then you’ll be safe. Verse 18, your covenant with death shall be what? Disanold. In the middle of the tribulation, the Antichrist breaks his promise.
We just read that in Daniel 927. Your agreement with hell shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then you shall be trodden down by it. And we find here that God is saying, you’re going to be sorry that you made that choice. From the time that it go with forth, it shall take you. For morning by morning shall it pass over by day and by night it shall be of exation only to hear or to understand the report.
For the bed is shorter than a man can stretch himself on it and the covering narrower than he can wrap himself in it. In other words it’s not going to protect you. Your bed isn’t long enough to hold your body and your sheet is wide enough to cover you and keep you from the cold and you’re going to be in trouble. Verse 22, now therefore be not mockers, lest your bands be made strong. For I’ve heard from the Lord God of Hosted the Consumption even determined upon what?
The whole earth. The whole earth is going to come into judgment and they are making bad decisions. God says, your agreement with the devil isn’t going to work. Antichrist will be involved by the devil or Satan and they’re going to buy into what he promises them and think that he is their Savior and they’re going to welcome him with open arms. And tragically they’ll be stung by it and many, many Jews will die and there’ll be another Holocaust unfortunately and many more Jews will die than did in the Holocaust that Hitler led.
So sad, sad things ahead. Well anyway we’ve covered Daniel chapter 9, an amazing prophecy. It ought to thrill you and reaffirm to you that the Bible has to be the Word of God because Christ came exactly as the prophecy fulfilled. I mentioned Sir Robert Anderson, but he wrote a book called The Coming Prince. It’s been reprinted. You can buy it in the borders and barns and noble. I think they have it. Amazon will get it for you. It’s called The Coming Prince by Sir Robert Anderson.
And it has all the calculations, if you like, to study into the mechanics of how many days when the command was given, how Christ came and died exactly when the Bible predicted it would happen. And it’s a wonderful prophecy to the coming of the Prince from the giving of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem after the Babylonian captivity would be over. And so a book you might want to have on your library shelf, I have it on mine.
And that was written a long time ago when he headed up Scotland Yard in England, did the homework, the detective worked, and consulted the roles astronomers of Britain and did the calculations and said, wow, an incredible prophecy fulfilled to the day. And then, of course, if you’re witnessing the Jews, remember? Ask them, who could have been the Messiah before the destruction of Jerusalem in 8070? Because your prophet Daniel said he would be here before Jerusalem and the temple was destroyed.
And give them a few seconds to try to guess as to who. There can only be one. Jesus Christ is the only one that can fulfill this prophecy. And the future Antichrist will come and here in T. Israel’s peace. And we’re already hearing those promises out there in the news. And in fact I just marvel and say, I’ve got to be close. We should sing, I am going to bring peace to the Middle East. Pretty powerful. And you’ve heard I’m going to bring democracy and freedom to the Middle East.
And he’s on a course to pull that off. And certainly the same course the Antichrist will travel, not saying that he’s the Antichrist, but he’s laying the groundwork if he isn’t. But we never know. We could be looking at the Antichrist. We could be looking at the very leaders who pull all this off and keep your eyes open. we covered chapter 9, what a wonderful chapter that tells us exactly when Christ would come to the first time. It was a prophecy to be counted from the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem.
And when that command was given, they were to count 69 weeks of years, which turns out to be 483 years. And Christ would die on the cross of Calvary. And that’s exactly what happened. Christ came exactly and died. As it says in verse 26, that, after the three score in two weeks, shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself. We know He died to pay for the sins of the world. And then it prophesies the destruction of Jerusalem that will follow, that the prince shall come, which we believe is the antichrist, shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
And that was, of course, the Romans came in 1870 and destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. And this is a powerful, powerful witnessing tool with Jewish people because you can ask them who possibly could have been the Messiah. It was on the earth and was here prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in 1870. And they don’t have many choices. Who could have met the description of the Messiah? only Jesus could be the one. So it’s very, very powerful. Then verse 27 talks about the Antichrist.
There’s a gap between verse 26 and 27 of 2000 years. And here we have the 70th week of Daniel, which is a seven week that’s yet to come, which is the tribulation period. And this will start ticking off the clock once the rapture happens. So as soon as the rapture happens, the clock will start ticking again for Israel. And seven more years will tick off the clock. The last seven years of the Old Testament age of law and the Jews will be back in the state of Israel when that happens and they’re already there, aren’t they?
Ready to go. So once the rapture happens, the clock will start ticking again and seven years will tick off the clock. The Antichrist, verse 27, the he in verse 27 is the prince shall come in verse 26 and he would come of the people destroyed Jerusalem in eighty seventy that’s the Romans and we’re Roman and I believe he comes out of this country he shall confirm the word confirm means to guarantee I used to hear all the prophecy teachers teach it all the Arab nations will get together no sign on the dotted line and they’ll sign an agreement and we saw the Oslo agreement and the other agreements that air fat signed on to but I don’t believe it’s really saying that.
The word confirmed there means to guarantee and I think it’s a unilateral promise of peace and promise that Israel will be safe because the Antichrist declares it to be so. So it’ll be a military thing. And in the Middle East, he’s going to take over all of the countries. This was in the paper the other day and you see like Domino is here lined up, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Iran. And notice two of them have kind of gone this way and they’re going to knock over all the rest.
That’s pretty biblical. Right there when you see the whole Middle East coming boom boom boom boom, Domino effect among the leaders of Israel. Well, the Antichrist will notice in verse 27, in the middle of the seven years, stop the sacrifices that have been resumed after the Rapture and he’ll cause them to cease. And of course we know that’s when he goes into the temple that is rebuilt and places his image there and then he’ll rule for the last three and a half years of the tribulation period.
Chapter 10 verse 1, In the third year of Cyrus, King of Persia, a thing was revealed into Daniel, whose name was called Belchazzar. And the thing was true, but the time appointed was long and he understood the thing and had understanding of the vision. Thank you for joining us. We now have Mickey and Tampa Fort. Mickey welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, class. Good morning. I listen to you program every morning. Good. I don’t really have questions or anything. I just have one thing for all the non-believers that if they’re searching for God, they need to start in Acts 2.38.
And that will lead in to Christ. Alright. Well, thank you very much. Acts“.38 is not my favorite verse to use with the loss because I think it needs explanation. The word repent. In Acts 2.38, the Greek word is metanoi and it means change your mind. Too many people have the wrong definition of repentance and they say you have to turn from your sin to be saved, which Mickey would be works at a desalvation and nowhere does the Bible ever tell us that we have to turn from our sin to be saved.
The Bible says that we are saved as we are. The Christ Romans 5.8 He commended His love toward us in that while we were yet sinning Christ tied for us. So Christ died for simple men of which all of us are. And when we simply come to Christ, and I love that hymn writer who wrote, Just as I am I come without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me. So we find that we come just as we are, and we become sable and we trust Christ as our Savior, then God the Holy Spirit indwells us and gives us the power to have victory over sin after we become saved.
Then the second part of Acts 2, 38 talks about being baptized and is not talking about water. If you’ll notice, and by the way, there are 10 different baptisms taught in the New Testament. Most of them don’t involve any liquid whatsoever, and there it says be baptized in the name, in the name, in the name of the Lord Jesus. Well when you are baptized in the name it means your cleanse, your washed in the name or in the authority of Jesus Christ who died for us.
And it’s when you trust in His authority as God who took on flesh, you died and paid for your sin and shed his blood to wash your sins away. God saves you. And so I believe that’s 230 is a great verse but I think it takes some explanation for the people who have been given wrong definitions all their life. It’s not talking about water baptism in that verse. It’s not talking about turning from sin. It really should read Change your mind and trust Christ and be cleansed of all of your sin in the name or in the authority of Jesus Christ And you’ll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and you’ll be Receiving the forgiveness of your sin.
We have Bill in the land Florida and Bill. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Good morning, Doctor. Good morning I’ve got a question for you regarding 1 Corinthians 7, I think it’s verses 10 and 11. And the King James, I think it’s in verse 11 that she left out wars and December, they were pending and I gave her a radio Bible class booklet on divorce and remarriage. And the author of that booklet, I can’t remember, is Bandar Lager who they are in there, he On the way, you know, under grounds other than fornication, Jesus says the universal, I think it’s verse 11 of verse Corinthians 7 and says the husband, you know, not to divorce.
Paul’s talking about believers I believe there. And it says in the in the why shall remain unmarried. Well, I guess from that booklet from radio Bible class on divorce. from that booklet from Radio Bible class on divorce and remarriage. It says otherwise and I’ve talked to other Baptist pastors up here and they all interpreted and remained unmarried. Just means that. He lives separate and apart, still married and the only option is separation. Well, reconciliation and remain if unmarried does not mean divorce.
Am I correct? Yeah, I believe you’re absolutely right. And here, of course, the situation there in Corinth where you… where you had people getting saved. And so all of a sudden one of the partners gets saved and the other is an unbeliever. And it caused a strain on the marriage. And here it’s saying if the unbelieving depart, then let them depart, but let the saved one, of course, remain unmarried and it talks about the possibility of reconciliation here and it says if the believing verse 15 to part, let him depart.
But if you can keep it together, there’s the possibility of you getting the other partner saved. It says in verse 16, for what Noah’s thou, a wife, whether thou shall save thy husband or how Noah’s thou, oh man, whether thou shall save thy wife. So keeping it together, you could possibly lead the other the person to Christ. But here you had a couple that was married, one of them getsSTDOUT an unbeliever and as a result the unbeliever sometimes wanted to get out of the marriage and would leave the believer.
In this case, we’re both believers, boring unbelievers. And I think if Tenen is separated, it means that we may not marry, it means separated, not divorced. And some people do separate, first of all, a period of time. It shouldn’t be lengthy. And then come back together. I don’t know that it can be. But obviously the Bible talks about remaining unmarried, though, not to remarry. If the partner dies, then in verse 39 of this chapter, it talks about that they can remarry, but only in the Lord they need to marry another believer.
Right. I’m equally open. Yeah. A son that went to ask me about the lady who was going to marry by six or seven years ago. How about we ask you guys to make a relationship with men and women in your home? You’d have never found the way to go and my wife didn’t want me to say anything to them. And I was going to tell them because he’s a born again believer. He married and an unsaved woman and now he’s kind of like the old-timers would say you make your bed you’ve got a sleep.
when children come along. This is what you tell your children about God, and as an unbeliever, all of them has an object. Well, we do thank you. now to go to carl in Tampa florida carl welcome to bible yeah that’s the uh… you’ve mentioned yesterday uh… laviticus nineteen eight yes and uh… i had mentioned that to her my son’s uh… friend we’re talking about you know put a tattoo on whatever and uh… he uh… mention but about laviticus nineteen twenty seven where it talks about not to cut the sides of your face the big one applies what about the other one and i can’t wait and abide by that yesterday uh…
talks about not cutting your body uh… for the dead and then it up by not putting a new printed your body so the pretty about it that the planet in the do with the dead as well or is that just uh… seven i hang up a little bit okay that good question and obviously that we’re not to bring your graffiti on our bodies and If you already have tattoos, you’re going to have to stuck with them and you have to live with them.
But God didn’t want you to cut your body or to print on it or put graffiti on it. He created us. And I think that when we defaced it, it would just be like somebody coming by and putting graffiti on your house. You would not appreciate that. Well, God’s body becomes our, his house or his temple. And God doesn’t want us to defile that as well. That’s what I think about for the dead. You know, oftentimes a lot of tattoos will have on their mom or dad or something and sometimes they’re already deceased and it seems like a way of honoring them or recognizing them.
But even if it’s done for a good purpose, tattoos are wrong, I think according to the Bible. This is of course some great instruction for us today because it seems like there’s a tremendous upsurge in kids and young people getting tattoos and body piercings and it’s just exploding right now. And certainly I think that the Bible is forbidding that. Thank you Carl for calling in. We hope that you’re learning with us. As we listen to this question and answer segment featuring Dr.

I’m going to talk a little bit about the phrase be converted because you know a lot of the terms that we use are actually misleading to the hearer and are often not used in the way the Bible intended them to be used. What does it mean to be converted? Well I believe that there has been a great deal of confusion centered around the term conversion. I know some evangelists say, you must be converted. And then they define it as you have to change.
And what they’re saying is that you have to change your life in order to be saved, which is works, which is really contrary to the Scripture. And we know much of this confusion is really serving Satan’s purpose as we find in 2 Corinthians 4, 4, that Satan is the God of this world and he blinds the minds of those which believe not, lest the light of the gorescostal of the Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
So Satan delights when bad terms or bad use of terminology is used. The hymn writer had it right when he says, What can wash away my sin? The answer is nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood of Jesus could wash away my sin or yours. Human effort, human conduct cannot contribute to our salvation at all. alone in the shed blood of Jesus Christ determines one’s eternal destiny. Salvation is not based upon a person’s behavior, not based upon a person’s conduct, not based upon a person’s works.
The Bible is quilt clear in Romans 4, 5. Look it up. One of the great verses in the book of Romans, chapter 4, verse 5 says, but to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justify then Godly that’s Jesus, his faith in Christ or Jesus is counted for righteousness. Yet there are those who would sing the words to a great hymn like the one we just mentioned, what can wash away by sin and the answer being nothing but the blood of Jesus Christ.
And they’ll sing that hymn at the same time contradict these words by having a faulty view of the doctrine of conversion. They would say something like, nothing but the blood of Jesus can wash away by sin. But you must change the way you’re living if you’re going to go to heaven. You must be converted. You must change. Unwittingly, perhaps a Christian would therefore be teaching human works for salvation, contradicting the clear scriptures that salvation is not of works. But as many men should boast, Ephesians 2-9.
is not dependent upon what we have done or what we will do, nor is it dependent upon our future or our past. It is dependent upon what Jesus Christ has accomplished or has done for us on the cross of calorie. The Bible is clear that those who believe or trust on Christ are saved and are not condemned and will go to heaven. And those that do not believe on Christ are lost, condemned and are headed for hell. And of course if they trust Christ before they die, they will be able to enter heaven.
Well what about conversion? When does conversion take place? Be converted. What does that mean? And when does it really take place? Well guess what? The apostle Peter was not converted until three years after he was saved. You heard that right. Peter didn’t get converted until three years after he was saved. After Peter the apostle had already been saved for three years, he was then converted. Are you shocked by this? Well, what does this do to the meaning of the phrase be converted?
Shall we tell only saved persons to be converted? And then what does it mean? Why should a saved person need to be converted? Well, let’s take a look. First let’s look at Peter’s conversion. Peter’s salvation in contrast occurred after the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. We have Andrew getting saved first and he leads his brother Peter to Christ. And the Gospel of John says in chapter 1, Andrew, about Andrew, he first finds his own brother Simon and says to Peter, we have found the Messiah, which is being interpreted to Christ and he brought him to Jesus.
That’s how Peter got saved. Peter’s conversion is mentioned after the Lord of Institute, the Lord’s Supper, and just First before Christ enters into the Garden of Gethsemane, the night of the betrayal as Christ is betrayed that very night and the next day He goes to the cross. Look at Luke 22-32. Here Jesus says, the night of the betrayal, I have prayed for the Peter that thy faith fail not, and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Wow, actually Peter became converted after.

Now please join us as we return to our question and answer segment and then we’ll return to more Bibleline teaching from Dr. Hank Lynch. We’re going to go down to Carol in Sarasota, Florida and Carol, welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Yes, Dr. Landstrom. I’d like to ask you what year did Christ die on the cross? Well my personal opinion is around 80-30. Some say 80-29, some say 80-30. Christ died at 33 years of age, but we know there’s a calendar error of about anywhere from three to six years and many believe it is about a three-year error.
So instead of Christ being born at what we would consider zero, he was born in BC 3 or BC 4 and so that would make the crucifixion either in 80, 29 or 80, 30 and we just don’t know for sure. Then I wanted to know, could you explain the prophecy of the last week as related to Israel? Well, sure. Daniel, chapter 183 years up until Christ’s death. Daniel, chapter 9, what a wonderful prophecy. The prophecy of 70 weeks. There are 70 weeks of years.
The Hebrew word for week there just means seven. It could be seven rocks, seven loaves of bread, seven hills, seven anything, but in the context it’s talking about years. And it tells when to start counting, and it said there would be from the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem that had been destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, and we’re coming to the end of the Babylonian captivity. A commandment would be given, Daniel tells us, that would allow the city of Jerusalem to rebuilt and the temple be rebuilt and you are to count then 69 weeks of years or 483 years and then it would take you right to the death of Christ.
What an incredible prophecy that turns out to the very day telling us when Christ would be crucified. That just has always fascinated me and one of the reasons why I believe the Bible to be the word of God. It is not a prophecy to the birth of Christ but it’s a prophecy to the most significant of end in all of history, the death of Christ when he died to pay for our sins, and he was cut off out of the land of the living.
But as it says in Daniel 926, not for himself, it was for you and for me. There is still one week of years that hasn’t happened. So the clock stopped ticking for Israel when Christ died on the cross. The clock will restart ticking at the event of the Rapture and seven more years need to tick off the clock. Those of the last seven years of the Old Testament which still have not been fulfilled. And once the Rapture happens, we’ll be back on Jewish territory.
The Jews are already back in the state of Israel in anticipation of this and celebrating their 60th anniversary this month. But also we know that a temple will be rebuilt. Two Old Testament prophets are going to come back. The witnesses during the tribulation period will be 144,000 Jewish men. We’re just on Jewish territory. Once the rapture happens in that seven year period, then we’ll conclude with Christ returning and establishing His Kingdom here on this earth, which will be for a thousand years literally.
And then after those seven now. The seventh day of the day is the seventh day of the day. Well, at the end of the seven years there is a thousand year day, which is the seventh day. If you are going by the recreated week of Genesis being a picture of all of history, there would be six days of human history from Adam until the second coming. the seventh thousand year day would be the millennium but then we’re on into eternity after that thousand years is concluded.
Oh I see thank you well thank you very much. You’re very welcome and thank you for calling in Carol down in Sarasota Florida and we’re now going to go to Fred in Fort Lauderdale. Fred welcome to my one year on the air. Hi Dr. Hank this is Fred and I just want thank you for your program. I’ve recently been listening about say about two months and I’ve been tremendous help and very clear. I have a couple of questions, you know, mine.
Go ahead. One verse I was saying that any taste of the heavenly gifts but turn away is not fit for the kingdom. I think another verse said something about a whole, anyone lay a whole but turn away. And how’s that in relation to a lot of life? Okay. Well, I think you’re mixing up several passages. one from Hebrews, one from Luke, and then a lot’s wife way back in Genesis. But basically, I think the one you’re referring to is in Luke where it talks about a person who has put his hand to the plow and turns back is not fit for the kingdom of God.
It’s not talking about salvation, but it’s talking about discipleship. And if you’re going to hire somebody who’s going to plow your field and they’ve got their hand on the plow and they’re plowing the row and they look back, they’re going to probably go all over the place and not to plow a straight line. So you wouldn’t want to hire them and you’d probably fire them. And so if you’re going to be a disciple of Christ and you start out and then you’re looking all around and not focusing on Christ and doing the job that you’re pointed to do, then Christ is going to fire you as a disciple.
But he won’t lose you. In John 637 Christ said, him that cometh to me, I will know wise cast out. He would not cast you out as far as anything you might do, but you may not be fit to be a servant of his. And that’s what it’s talking about. Just like if you’re a farmer, you wouldn’t want a higher guy that didn’t keep his eye on that point at the end of the field where he’s headed to make a straight line so that you can get the maximum amount of crops out of your acre or many acres of land or whatever you have.
So I think that’s what it’s talking about. It’s not talking about loss of salvation. about being unfit as a servant and as a Christian who’s going to be a servant of Christ or disciple of Christ, you’re going to have to keep your life in order and keep yourself focused on the goal and the purpose that God has for you. So I hope that helps answer that for you, Fred. Absolute, thanks. One more question. Yeah, sure. What about the one that says, Workout, Chill, Salvation with Fear and Trembler?
That’s in Philippians 2.12. And it really is not saying work for, it says work out. And the point is that we have salvation when we trust Christ as Savior, but we’re to display it. So we’re to work it out or let it be seen or let it be displayed. If you look just a couple of verses further down and talk about us holding forth the word of life that by doing so we’ve become lights in this world to those that are in darkness.
And so we are giving out the gospel, we’re letting people see and learn about the salvation that we have within us. Okay. All right. Thank you very much. All right. A lot of people take that and they somehow read into that work for salvation and it doesn’t say work for salvation in Philippians 2, 12. It says work out the salvation that you have within us. In other words, display it. We are again talking about the Christian life and not about how to be saved.
We’re now going to go to Jacksonville, Florida. We have anonymous there on the line. Anonymous welcome to Bibleline. Good morning Dr. Leistrom. I just want to share something and then I’ll hang up and let you just kind of touch on it again. It’s about the job witnesses I had yesterday to witness to one of them. But I think I didn’t do a very good job at it but I’m not as much grounded in all the scripture like I should.
But I was just totally blown away by some of the stuff that they said. I think one thing I want you to touch on is that she told me that they believe that Jesus, I think she said with Michael the Archangel, which I was totally shocked to hear about saying that how could they believe that? And then the other thing is they think that God is finished with Jerusalem, with Israel, they turn their backs on them. There’s no more.
They don’t believe in all this, you know, new stuff with the new coming, the prophecy, you know, the end times and you know, this is the same way we do. I mean, it’s just what they believe is just so far out there, I was just totally shocked and you know what to say to her after she told me that Jesus himself was not God. He was Michael the angel and that he is a God, but he’s not God himself misconstrained.
He was Michael. Could you please tell me where to get that from? I’ll hang up and listen to your answer. Okay. Well, it probably got it from the devil himself because obviously it says in the first John that to deny Christ being God in a flesh is of the spirit of Antichrist. which is the spirit of anachrist, this is the devil himself, who is the spirit and dwells in powers, the anachrist. So obviously this is where it’s all coming from.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses are Jehovahless. You need to point out 1 John 2, 23, whosoever denyeth the Son the same hath not the Father. So because they deny the Son and say he’s Michael the Archangel, they don’t have Jehovah, they don’t have the Father. So they’re Jehovahless. Always like to share that with them. Did you know that you Jehovah’s Witnesses are Jehovahless? And then if you show them 2nd John verse 9, it says, if you deny the Son and don’t recognize that Jesus has got in the flesh, you don’t have God.
So they’re godless and Jehovahless. And they don’t even realize that we need to pray for these people. I’ve led many of them to Christ, but they are tough because they are so brainwashed and they believe obviously things which are not biblical. It’s easierAGES to tell you all the things that they don’t believe rather than what they do believe. The witnesses are very confused and they are lost. Thank you Anonymous and we appreciate that call. This wraps up today’s question and answer segment about the Bible featuring Dr.

In the third year of Cyrus, King of Persia, a thing was revealed into Daniel, his name was called Belchazzar. And the thing was true, but the time appointed was long. And he understood the thing and had an understanding of the vision. In those days, I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine to my mouth. Neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled. In the four and twentieth day of the first month as I was by the side of the Great River, which is called Hadekal, then I lifted up my eyes and looked and behold a certain man clothed in linen whose loins were girded with fine gold of you fast.
His body was also like the barrel, his face as the appearance of lightning, his eyes as lamps of fire, his arms and his feet, like in color to polish brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. That is the same description given in Revelation chapter 1 that John saw when he saw Jesus appear as he would in his second coming. Daniel is seeing here, I believe, Christ in this vision. And I, Daniel alone, saw the vision for the men that were with me, saw not the vision, but a great quaking fell upon them so that they fled to hide themselves.
Therefore, I was left alone, and I saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me. For my calmliness was turned into corruption. I retained no strength. Yet heard I the voice of his words, and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face and my face toward the ground. And behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee and stand upright.
For unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. Then said he unto me, fear not Daniel, for from the first day that thou dest set thine heart to understand, and to chase thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. So notice when Daniel prayed his prayer, his prayer was heard instantly, but look at how God had sent Gabriel now, or to come and answer this prayer and give him the understanding, but he was was stood by demon powers.
So here really is the unseen world at work. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was stood me one and twenty days. So 21 days, three full weeks, he didn’t get the answer, not because God had not sent the answer, but because demons were involved. And the prince of the kingdom of Persia, apparently is a demon that was assigned to the kingdom of Persia. That was the world power in those days. You better believe that Satan has demons assigned to rulers of nations even at this hour.
And demons influenced their decisions. And here we have the demon that was assigned to the kingdom of Persia with standing here, Gabriel, 21 days. But lo, Michael, the Michael is the Archangel of God. One of the chief princes came to help me and I remain there with the kings of Persia. So here we see something very interesting. Sometimes maybe you pray a prayer and the prayer is delayed and being answered. Maybe demons are involved in causing delay. Interesting, isn’t it?
Something to think about. But definitely here, Daniel is saying that what he heard here was that the prayer was answered from the first day, verse 12, that he had said his heart to understand and chased himself before God, and he prayed a prayer for understanding. And the answer was on its way. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was stood him 21 days. But lo, Michael, one of the chief princes came to help. And there he remains with the kings of Persia’s for 21 days.
Verse 14, now I am come to make the understand what shall befall thy people. That’s Daniel’s people. Notice in the latter days, and the latter days of course is now when the Jewish people have returned back to their land after 2,000 years of dispersion. And then it says for the vision is for many days. That phrase is used many places in the Old Testament and seems in every case to be the interval of time between the first and second coming of Christ that in Hosea it said it would be many days that Israel be without a king.
Their king was rejected, went to the cross, and now until Jesus comes back there’s been about a 2000 year interval. It’d be many days without a sacrifice. They lost their sacrifice in 80-70 when the temple was destroyed and they’re about to get it back again after the rapture when the temple is built, the third temple and sacrifices are resumed. Verse 15, and when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground and I became dumb.
And behold, one light, the smilitude of the sons of men, touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spake and said unto him that stood before me, O my Lord, by the vision my sorrows have turned upon me, and I have retained no strength. How can the servant of this my Lord talk with this my Lord for as for me straightway there remain at no strength in me neither is their breath left in me. Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man and he strengthened me and said, Oh man, greatly beloved, fear not, peace be unto thee, be strong, yea be strong.
And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened and said, Let my Lord speak, for thou hast strengthened me. Then said he, Knowest thou went, or wherefore, I am come to thee, and now I will return to fight with the demons over there in Persia, the Prince of Persia. And when I am gone forth, lo the Prince of Greece, shall come. Another demon assigned to the kingdom of Greece. But I will show thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth and there is none that holdeth with me in these things but Michael your prince.
So Michael and Gabriel now bring this answer and vision here to Daniel. In verse 1 of chapter 11 it says, also I in the first year of Darius the Mede even I stood to confirm and strengthen him and now will I show him the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia, and the fourth shall be richer than they all, and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up against the realm of Greece. In a mighty king shall stand up that shall rule with great dominion and do according to his will.
And when he shall stand up his kingdom shall be broken and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven and not to his posterity. Nor, according to his dominion, which he ruled for his kingdom shall be plucked up even for others beside those. So it’s really talking about Alexander, how Alexander would not give his kingdom over to his children, but rather he was divided into four portions by his four generals. This covers that history all the way down through the Grecian Empire and the Antiochus Epiphanes coming in and defiling the temple in Jerusalem.
But I want to jump all the way if I might now because of what I want to cover tonight to verse 36. And here we learned about the one who would ultimately come who would be much like Alexander and would be the Antichrist who would rule in the last days in the tribulation period and this is the tribulation period that we’re looking at in chapter 11 of Daniel in verse 36. The king shall do according to his will. He shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every God and shall speak marvelous things against the God of God’s and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished.
For that that is determined shall be done. Now the indignation is a phrase that appears to be a phrase that defines the last three and a half years of the tribulation period. So we have the rise of the Antichrist in verse 36 and he is one who will magnify himself above all and above every God. And we’ll actually speak things against the God of God, the God of heaven. And he’s going to prosper for the last three and a half years of the tribulation period, a time called the indignation for that that is determined shall be done.
Verse 37 telling us about the Antichrist. It says, neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any God, for he shall magnify himself above all. The first phrase might intimate to us that he has Jewish blood somewhere in his veins because the God of his fathers might be a reference to the God of the Bible, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and he disregards the Bible and God, the God of the Bible, the God of the universe, the God of creation.

Look at Luke 22 32. Here Jesus says, the night of the betrayal, I have prayed for the Peter that thy faith fail not. And when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Wow. Actually Peter became converted after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Peter’s conversion after the resurrection of Jesus Christ had to do with Peter’s Christian life and not his salvation. And at least three years had passed since Peter had trusted him. Christ as his Savior with his brother Andrew Lady of the Christ.
Peter later testified that the way we live our lives has nothing to do with our salvation. In 1 Peter 1 18 and 19 we find that Peter says, you must know or recognize that you are redeemed, that is, ransomed from the useless, fruitless way of your living your life inherited from your forefathers, not with corruptible things such as silver and gold, but you were purchased are redeemed with the precious blood of Christ the Messiah. I like that of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
Well, we know that the phrase be converted is occasionally used of salvation but very seldom. And when it is, it is defined as it is in Matthew 18 to become like a little child. You have to be converted in that way. What do we know about little children? They’re totally dependent upon their parents for their survival. And in order to be saved, you have to be totally dependent upon God to save you through Christ’s death and shed blood and not rely on anything of yourself.
It’s amazing how little children cannot survive without their moms and dads, and we cannot be saved without our Heavenly Father providing the salvation that he provides through faith in Christ. When somebody asks me, Hank, when were you converted? I usually say, about a year after I got saved. I see a facial expression that tells me they have never heard anything like that before. And so I tell them, yeah, I got saved. And then about a year later I got converted.
I didn’t dedicate my life to serve the Lord and my life didn’t really change until I made that second decision to become a servant of Christ, to become a disciple of Christ, to serve the Lord. The night I trusted Christ, I had been so turned off by the church that I had been raised in that I heard the gospel message of salvation free. And I remember saying to God, I’ll take you up on your free gift, but I will never serve you.
Well, little did I realize that when you get saved, God, the Holy Spirit comes in and dwells in your body and God began to work on me as the Bible says that God becomes your Father and he will discipline his sons and daughters that he received into his family by the new birth and God began to work on me. And over that next year, God brought me to my knees. And in my dorm room at the University of Florida, all by myself, I got to my knees that I dedicated my life to Christ.
And I said, Lord, I will serve you from this day forward. And I have ever since that day. And the Lord followed me up. Nobody even knew I was saved. I was a secret believer for over a year. And once I made that second decision, I was converted. But I was not converted when I got saved. When I got saved, I was a child of God, and I was delivered from the penalty of sin and death and assured of going to heaven and not a had eternal life, but not until a year later that I experienced God working in my life and his blessings and the joy that comes by living for Christ.
So are you converted? Well, if you haven’t decided to become a disciple and let your life be transformed to be used of God as a servant of Christ, then you’re not converted even though you might be saved. You’re saved by trusting in what Christ did for you, but conversion has to do with your showing God how grateful you are by living your life for Him, not to be saved, but because you are. So I was saved and then a year later I became converted.
And with many people, I think they never get converted. They get saved, but they don’t get converted. And for a lot of people that presents a confusion because evangelists use conversion to mean you must change your life to be saved, which is completely contrary to the scripture. And wrong. I’m Dr. A. G. Lindstrom. This is Bible. I keep looking up. Jesus is coming. And we believe He’s coming soon.
