Now join us for Dr. Lynchroom’s teaching for today. Lent was a pagan observance, not Lent, but Lent. Christians today in the number of churches celebrate Lent, but it’s a pagan observance where they would fast and weep and pray to God for 40 days. It was actually to pray for Tamuz, who by one legend died, and the other was that he was wounded and they thought he might die, but they prayed and fast and wept that Tamuz might live.
And guess what? At the end of the 40-day period, Tamuz lives. Either resurrected from the dead or survives the deadly wounds that was afflicted upon him in apparently a hunting accident with a wild boar that Tamuz’s life hung in a balance. That’s the origin of Lent. We don’t celebrate Lent here because it’s pagan, but this spring you’re going to find a lot of churches will be celebrating Lent and it has nothing to do with Jesus, nothing at all, but it has to do with Tamuz or Baal.
And of course the day before Lent begins, which Lent always begins on a Wednesday, is what they call Fat Tuesday. In French it’s called Mardi Gras. This is where people know that for 40 days they are going to have to give up things and fast and so they indulge themselves in everything they are forbidden to do during the 40 days of fasting and weeping. And so it is a day of partying and a day of gorging and day of sinfulness.
And that is the origin of it. It has nothing to do with Christ. look at how many churches observe fat Tuesday the day before Ash Wednesday, and Ash Wednesday is unscriptural, though such thing in your Bible, but it’s the beginning of the 40 days of Lent which were all about Baal, worship, and not about Christ. And so God was upset that they observed Lent here, or the celebration, or the weeping and fasting for Tamuz. He said unto me to Ezekiel, hast thou seen this, O son of man, turn the yet again, and thou shall see greater abominations than these.
And he brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house, and behold, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar were five and twenty men with their backs toward the temple of the Lord, and their faces toward the east, and they worshiped the sun toward the east. Well guess what? This is of course the celebration of now Tamuz coming back from the dead or surviving his deadly wound. And notice the Lord’s presence was in the temple until he departed and they turned their backs toward the temple.
In other words, they turned their back on God and they turned to the east. Why? bail supposedly was the sun god S-U-N. And so they looked for the sun to rise in the morning, and they worship the sun God, Baal, as it rose in the morning. By the way, this is the origin of your sunrise service. This is where people get up early on Resurrection Sunday. And what do they do? Before dark, they all are outdoors. And what direction do they face?
East. they wait for the sun to come up. And this is the ancient beginning of it right here, where they would watch for the sun to come up a picture of the resurrection of Baal, and they would celebrate with Baal’s mother Easter. And that’s Easter day when Easter the mother Baal celebrates getting her son back from the dead. Isn’t that amazing? We don’t have at this church a sunrise service, which we’ll believe is pagan. We have a sundown service because we believe Christ actually rose at sundown, not sunrise, because He was placed in the grave at sundown and He said He’d be three days and three nights in the grave, which is 72 hours.
So if you place Him in the grave at sundown, 72 hours later He has to rise at sundown and He rose at the beginning of the first day of the week because the Jews count their day from sundown to sundown. So Sunday night is Saturday at sundown. Christ rose right at the beginning of the first day of the week and in the morning when the sun came up they Discovered the tomb to be empty Christ did not rise on Sunday morning But I remember as a little child wondering why my parents would get me up in my brother and my sisters get us all dressed Mom, it’s still dark Get up get dressed and haul us off to a sunrise service where we were there in the dark We wanted to be back in bed, and here we are all facing east, all watching for the sun to rise,
and here is the origin of that right here in your Bible. That is Easter Sunday. Easter celebrates her son rising in the east. The sun rise a symbol of his resurrection from the dead at the end of 40 days of Lent in praying for him. And God was terribly upset. He says in verse 17, hast thou seen this, O Son of Man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here, for they have filled the land with their violence and have returned to provoke me to anger and lo, they put the branch to their nose.
So here’s saying God says I am terribly upset. So Ezekiel did some time travel. He was moved from Iraq, carried by a lock of his hair, all the way back to Iraq, and back in time prior to his being carried away captive while the temple still stood. And he was told to watch and look and see and go back and tell him what had happened. I think it’s kind of fascinating myself. And that temple was destroyed. After the 70 years of captivity, a Second Temple was built.
That temple was the existence when Christ came. We don’t have any reference that God’s glory filled that Second Temple. But it was empty, waiting for Jesus, who had he been received, would have filled that temple with glory, because he would have established his kingdom at his first coming. So the temple was there waiting for him to come. He came and was rejected. And of course, the kingdom was postponed. Christ went to the cross. He purchased your salvation and mine.
And now has gone back to heaven and is about ready to come back to that temple. Now, the second coming of Christ will be seven years after the rapture and will be a coming back to the temple and to establish his throne and to fill that building with his glory. But we’re going to see that the second coming is all about that temple, that temple that was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar rebuilt by those who came back from the Babylonian captivity.
And that second temple was never as glorious as the first, but was the same house that God had talked about. And when Christ came, they rejected Him, the one for whom the temple was built. And so Christ said, your temple is going to be left empty, predicted it would be destroyed. And so the second temple was destroyed. And He said, and I’m going to come back to a temple. And that temple has to be rebuilt. I think we’re close because the preparations And that’s it.
We have all been really accomplished, and we’re just waiting the political decision-making to take place for that temple to be rebuilt. And that’ll happen, I believe, right after we leave at the Rapture, instruction there. We’re going back to Ezekiel by way of quick review. We talked about how that apparently there is such a thing as traveling through time. God is not bound by time as He created time. Time at one point didn’t exist. What’s amazing is that the Bible and in science, true science, are in agreement for several hundred years anyway.
Scientists said that the universe was eternal, that it always existed. They did that or said that because of the law in chemistry that they had discovered called the law the Conservation of Matter, which basically said matter cannot be created nor destroyed. As a result of that law, they said, matter can’t be created, therefore the universe has always been. And they were wrong, obviously, but that caused a big rift between science and the Bible, as scientists would say that Genesis 1-1 is wrong, that matter cannot be created, therefore in the beginning God created cannot be true.
And that really just turned a lot of people away from the Bible, thinking it was an unscientific book. Einstein comes along and he says that E is equal to MC squared, that matter and energy are equatable and that energy can be converted to matter and matter can be converted to energy. Certainly we see that in a nuclear bomb, the atoms crack apart and the matter is created into energy and the tremendous amount of energy is released and that’s of course why the nuclear Obama is so destructive.
The Bible of course is right on in Jeremiah chapter 10 verse 12. It tells us that God created the earth and the universe out of His energy, out of His power. So really Jeremiah was ahead of Einstein by about 3000 years and telling us that the universe was created out of energy. So the Bible is an amazing book. And of course between what Einstein taught and what James Hubble brought the light, which he is the one after which the Hubble telescope is named, but he discovered in looking at our universe that it’s expanding outward.
And the Bible actually talks about how God stretches out the universe in numerous Old Testament references. You’re listening to Bible Eye, a teaching ministry that’s dedicated to delivering the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are many items available from our resource center, such as Dr. Hankel and Strom’s DVD teachings on the topics of simplicity, belief versus unbelief, and is inviting Jesus into your heart false in addition to many others when you call 1-800-576-3771. Now we’re going to take a break from our teaching to listen to Dr.
Lynch drum answering questions from callers and then we’ll rejoin today’s teaching. you are a saved person. Hopefully you know where you would go if you were to die. And if you’re not certain, then chances are maybe you haven’t understood the plan of salvation because the plan of salvation is that it’s finished. It’s a done deal. Once you trust Christ, you are saved and you are saved forever. Romans 5-1 says, therefore being justified, it really should read, therefore having been justified.
past tense by faith. We have present tense peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. So we’re justified, declared righteous in God’s court of law by faith. And it says here to the Romans that Paul is writing to, that they already had been justified when they placed their faith in Jesus Christ. And as a result, they presently possessed peace with God. You know, once you trust Christ, you’re saved from that moment on forever and ever and ever. And as a result, your future is secure.
Later in chapter 8 of Romans it says in verse 38, I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any other creation shall be able to separate me in the first person. It’s a separate me from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord. So once you become saved, nothing can separate you. From the love of God. Once you trust Christ, you are his and his forever.
And you know, that was a great revelation to me because in the church I was raised in. I was led to believe that God would have a scale one day, and that when I died, the books would be pulled out, and they’d read off the good and bad things that I had done. Wades would be applied to a scale. I would watch the scale in hopes that it would weigh in my favor. that I’d have more good works than bad works and that would allow me to enter heaven and if I had more bad works than good works Then I would not be allowed to enter into heaven.
So I was a little bit nervous about what was ahead for me I was a little bit frightened that maybe I would be one of those that would go to hell I was always uncertain about my future because I couldn’t tell at that point point, whether I would go to heaven or hell, my life hadn’t been lived out. I figured it was based on works and I had to wait until after I died to be able to find out whether I would go to heaven or not.
Well, the Bible doesn’t teach that. The Bible doesn’t teach that there’s a scale or that works would get me in. Yet all the world religions and the counterfeit of Christianity tells us that basically our works will be weighed and if you have enough good works, you’ll get in if you don’t, you won’t. And that is not what the Bible says. The Bible says salvation is not of works. It’s the gift of God. It’s received by simple faith in trusting Christ as Savior.
And once you trust Him, my friend, you’re saved forever. John 3 16 says it, yet how many people believe that verse? As somebody once said, it is the most forgotten verse of the Bible in the sense that it’s not understood or not believed. For God so loved the world that you and me that He gave His only begotten Son that’s Jesus Christ, that whosoever believe it, that means to trust in Christ, that you would not perish, but you would have everlasting life.
Have means right now, present tense, you would have everlasting life. You would receive it at the moment you believed and possess it forever thereafter. Amazingly how many people there are that teach you can lose your salvation. And I guess the majority of Christians do because that’s all based on works. You see, if you can lose it, you really are trusting in your works. I’ll never forget many years ago, I talked to a young man and I said, where are you going to go when you die?
He said, heaven. I said, how do you know? I’ve trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior. Well, I didn’t stop there, but I said, well, what if you don’t read your Bible anymore? What if you don’t go to church anymore? What if you don’t live for the Lord? And you backslide, and then you die. What would happen to you then? He said, oh, I’d go to hell. I said, you’re not saved. He said, yes, I am. I said, no, you’re not.
I said, the reason why is you’re trusting in your works for your salvation? And he said, no, I’m not. I said, yes, you are. And of course, I said, let me illustrate. Let me see if I got this right. Are you telling me that if you right now live the Christian life faithfully up until the point that you die, that you’d go to heaven? He says, yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying. Are you telling me that if you at some point in your life, stop living the Christian life and backslide and die, you’d go to hell?
Is that what I’m hearing? He said, yes, that’s exactly what I believe. I said, well, guess what? That’s work. me that what you do or what you do not do between now and your death is going to determine your salvation. That’s works. Therefore, you’re not saved because salvation according to the Bible is not of works. And you know, he said, that’s heavy man. And I didn’t see him again until the next day. He saw me the next day and he said, guess what?
I said, what? He said, I couldn’t sleep last night. And I, somewhere in the night, realized that you were right. I was trusting in my life and how I lived my life and the Christian life in order to get me to heaven. And I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior that He alone saves me at the moment I believe on Christ. Well, that was wonderful news, but He says, I’ve got a serious problem. I said, what is your problem?
He says, how can I tell my dad? I said, well, what’s the problem with telling your dad? He says, well, my dad is a preacher and he’s taught me the other way all of my life. I Said, well what you need to do with your dad is the same thing I did with you dad Is this what you’re saying that if we live the Christian life? Faithfully till the day we die that we’ll go to heaven. But if somehow we get signed tract and we backslide and we stop living for Christ and die that we go to hell, is that what you’re saying Dad?
Dad, if that’s the case, that’s works. And Dad, we’re not saved by works, so therefore we’re not saved. You can lead your Dad to Christ, wouldn’t that be great? Well, you know, it’s amazing how many people are trusting in how they’re going to live their life in their future to get them to heaven. and that makes them the Savior not Christ. As long as you’re trusting in what you are gonna do, or not gonna do, to determine whether you make heaven or not, my friend, you are the Savior not Christ, and you are not saved, you are trusting in your works, you will not go to heaven.
And basically everybody that believes that they can lose their salvation believes exactly what I just said. Because if you can lose it, that means something that you will do, or not do in your future will determine that. And it says, and we just read it, in Romans 838, I am persuaded that neither the death nor life nor angels, nor principalities nor powers nor things present, nor things to come, nor height nor depth nor any other creation shall be able to separate me from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus.
My friend, you are saved forever once you trust Christ And nothing can separate you from that salvation. I hope that you’ve trusted Christ and Christ alone. If you haven’t, then you’re not saved. If you believe you can lose it, you’re probably not saved. Think it through, connect the dots. Draw it on paper if you have to, but from this point right now, until you die, are you saying that something in your future will ultimately determine whether you make heaven?
That’s works. The true plan of salvation takes you and point you back to the cross and the fact that Jesus paid your sin debt in full. And once you trust Him and Him alone, you’re saved forever. Wow! I just got a nice fax yesterday from a fellow that said He was raised in church for all 41 years of His life and just got saved a couple of weeks ago by listening to Bible line. Isn’t that wonderful? That’s malpractice, isn’t it?
the part of the church, how can he be raised in church all of his life and never understand how to be saved until two weeks ago by listening to the Bible and radio? Well, I can understand it because I was 18 years in my church and I never knew how to go to heaven and I don’t think I would have ever found out there in my church. Thank God that I heard the wonderful message of salvation by grace. Are you saved through faith?
And that none of yourselves, the gift of God, not of works. Let’s say the man should boast Ephesians 2 8 and 9. We’re going to go to Jerry in St. Petersburg and Jerry, welcome to Bibleline You Are On the Air. Pastor Hank? Yes, sir. I just wanted to, there’s a verse here in 1 Corinthians and it’s chapter 1 verse 24. And a lot of times up here pastors use that when we’re talking about the fact that Christ is God.
I always thought that was a pretty good one All the others I’ve heard here when you’re talking about the Trinity and so forth. I agree with I Definitely believe in the trial and God, but that one where it says both Jews and Greeks Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God So if he’s a power of God and wisdom of God, he must be God Well, that’s a good point and I haven’t ever used it in that way, but certainly you’re right.
I think also in verse 30 you have a good one, but of him are you in Christ Jesus who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. So I mean that pretty much says it all. Jesus Christ has to be God to be able to provide all of those things for us and become that force as he indwells us. Good point, I like it. I’ll probably look at that verse differently now because you said that.
Okay. Thank you, Jack. I like the one on 32 that you mentioned. Yeah, that’s a great one. Righteousness and sanctification. Only coming with you pastor. Okay, nice talking to you. Only God can do that and certainly Jesus Christ has to be God to accomplish that. We were talking yesterday about Romans 10-9. I really don’t like to use the Roman road in evangelism because Romans 10-9 is used and it really requires explanation. It’s amazing to me more than those who get it right, most get it wrong when they read Romans 10-9. It says here in this wonderful verse that if thou should confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus. Really should read Jesus as Lord, but what it’s referring there to is the deity of Christ.
It’s clear in the context, it’s clear in the quotes from the Old Testament that is talking here about when you recognize the deity of Christ and believe that Jesus who is God and flesh died on the cross was buried and rose again from the dead, you’re going to be saved. That’s what the gospel message is. That’s what the verse is saying. And it’s really saying that you need to acknowledge that Jesus is God. Yesterday we talked about Philippians chapter 2, which talks about this very same theme and how that Jesus who died on the cross of Calvary, because he as a man went to the cross was obedient to death and died.
God where therefore also have highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name. The name of Jesus is actually from the Hebrew Yeshua and it’s the contraction of two words God’s personal name, which is Yahweh, and then the word for salvation Yasha and Yeshua is that contraction. It occurs over 130 times in the Old Testament and we find that the English pronunciation is Jesus. That is the name. The Bible tells us here in verse 11 of this chapter in verse 12, verse 11, that every tongue will one day confess that Jesus Christ is Yahweh, or He is Jehovah, however you pronounce God’s name.
And one day, in hell, everyone in hell will confess that Jesus Christ is Jehovah. That’s really what this verse is saying. Same thing as in Romans 10 and 9. And what it is, is that you’re going to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Jehovah. He is God. When you believe that Jesus is God who took on flesh and that he died and was buried in rose again from the dead, the Bible says in Romans 10 and 9 that you’re saved.
But what we have here is many people not doing their homework and they’re saying that Jesus Christ is Lord and they mean by that master or the one who rules over you. And they speak of it being a symbol of authority and sovereignty and so on and you have to submit yourself to the Lordship of Christ in order to be saved. That is not in this passage at all. Nowhere does it say that. In fact, it isn’t that at all because that works for salvation if you had to submit to the Lordship of Christ to go to heaven.
Now, there are those who teach that and guess what happens? And this is what I am so passionate about this because if you read Matthew chapter 7, Jesus talks about how the majority, perhaps of those that are called Christians, will get the wrong meaning here and they will recognize the worship of Christ as far as serving Him after you become saved. But they will apply it as a means of salvation and as a result not be saved at all.
Let me quote to you Matthew 7 verse 22 where it says, Many, and I believe this many in contrast in this chapter to the few, means the majority. Many will say to me in that day, and that day is really the great white throne judgment described in Revelation chapter 20 verses 11 through 15. It says here in Matthew 7 verse 22, many or the majority will say to me in that day, Lord, and obviously these people are recognizing the Lordship of Christ because this is the Greek word korias and it’s referring here to Master or Lord and speaking of exactly what we were talking about people getting wrong about Romans 10 and 9 about Christ being Lord over your life.
And notice they then are obedient to that lordship, and they brag in three areas where they have been obedient to the lordship of Christ. And they say, heaven, we preached in your name, and heaven, we healed in your name, and heaven, we done many wonderful works in your name. And look at the result in verse 23 of Matthew 7. Christ then will profess unto them, I never knew you. And in the case we’re so glad that you’re listening today and I hope you’ll be ready now for the second half hour.
We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break. Get ready for the second half hour. You like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Please make plans to join us and open your Bible as we also present in-depth studies covering a variety of biblical topics.
Now let’s return to our question and answer segment and then you’ll hear more Bible teaching from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we have Tony down in Sarasota, Florida and Tony welcome to Bibleline year. Thank you for taking my call. Your last call are tied in with your answers to what I wanted to ask. I’ve been confronting, been confronted with a lot of what I would say is the following away, what’s going on, church grows, the ecumenical stuff, all these things that we talked about on the radio.
and where it, I don’t want to throw all those people and pastors out with the bathwater, but at the same time there’s a, the verse that says something and please help me with this about, and I’ve heard these pastors say this, unless they claim that Jesus came in the flesh, meaning Jesus was God, they are not of the kingdom, or do you know which verse I’m talking about? Yeah, it’s over in 1 John chapter 4 where the where to test the spirits and if People do not recognize that Jesus is God who came and took on you in flesh Obviously, then they are the spirit of antichrist because right okay and and that’s where okay, so these people who are These pastors who are saying that Jesus did come in the flesh.
He died for us. He was raised from the dead yet when they preach their gospel it’s so watered down and it’s so this because we think he did die for us are they possibly i don’t even know you know what question i’m asking because i think i do you know i think that they’re acknowledging that he came in the flesh but at the same time when you look at so much of what else they’re doing it it just seems really watered down well or they’re preaching another gospel for example The Roman Catholic Church, and I probably get myself in trouble, but they believe that Jesus Christ is God, and that He took on human flesh, and certainly we applaud them for getting that right.
In fact, they believe in the Trinity that God does exist as three separate eternal persons, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. And yet they come right back around and preach a false gospel. And in Galatians chapter 1, Paul says, though we are an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you, than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. So obviously we can’t pervert the gospel and the gospel is perverted as soon as you add one human work to what Christ has done.
And the Bible is very clear that there is no works to be done on our part to be saved, but after we’re saved that’s when works come into play where we can then become a disciple of Christ and earn rewards by living for Christ as a believer, but as an unbeliever, there’s nothing we can bring. I love that hymn just as I am I come without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me. And I’ve been in church where they sing that, but that’s not what they really preach.
They… I know. You know, they really… If you talk about it before, they’ll sing that and then they’ll have the other song just as I am I come and… Yeah, but in reality they’re really telling you there’s more that you have to do something but the Bible is right along without him that there’s nothing we can bring. Our hands have to be empty. So Lord, I have nothing to offer you. I’m a sinner, lost, condemned, headed for hell. And I need to simply trust in your finished work at the cross and your shed blood.
It is the only means of my salvation. So I’m afraid the Roman Catholic Church has added the sacraments and a host of things that you must do. And you can never be assured of your salvation because you never can be assured of whether you’ve done it all or have done it well enough. And so there is no Roman Catholic that I know that can tell you eyeball the eyeball that I know I’m saved And I know I’m going to heaven when I die most of them will say I’m going to purgatory when I die and Work off the last sins that I didn’t pay for here Which obviously tells us they have a corrupted concept of the gospel of Jesus Christ Yeah, I appreciate your ministry.
We’re moving from Florida to the West Virginia Hopefully we can find you up there because I’ve missed you during our travels Okay. I’m in Florida, so I’m listing and uh… Well on the internet you can for sure, so you have to get the internet. And Lord willing, hopefully maybe you can be an instrument to help us get on the air in West Virginia. You might do your homework and find a station and get in touch with us and we’ll talk about it.
Maybe we can get us on the air up in your area wherever it will be. Alrighty. Thank you, sir. Thank you, Tony. That was Tony down in Sarasota and moving to West Virginia. from Mr. Anonymous, Clearwater Florida, view on elders of Deacons, divorce prior to become a part of the church. And also Larry in Lakeland says the question of elders in the church, what if they were unsaved when they committed adultery and got divorced, then became saved and have not committed those sins?
Well, it doesn’t really say that in the scripture. If you read 1 Timothy chapter 3 and also Titus chapter 1, it says basically that those offices It’d be held by men who are husbands of one wife. And I think that means exactly that. I think what’s going on here is that you have a role model for all of the families within the church. And if the leaders have been divorced, then they’re gonna say, well, it’s all right for me to get divorced also.
And it’s hard today to find men who qualify anymore because so many people have been divorced, to find somebody who has not been divorced, to elect as a deacon or an elder is a very difficult thing. But I believe that that’s really what it’s referring to, not that divorced men cannot serve because they can serve in mighty ways and be great tools for God in leading people to Christ and serving within the church. But I think elders and deacons are to be husbands of one wife.
That’s 1st Timothy 3 and also Titus chapter 1. we now have jeff down in venice florida and jeff welcome to my one year on the air dr linson thank you take a michael arm i’m calling about a story that’s recently that in the news about the sunday school teacher that was fired after fifty four years and um… one of the main verses that they dismissed her for was uh… first timothy chapter two with the uh… woman shall not usurp authority over man now if you go through the scriptures it’s also spoken of and i believe that Ephesians and 1 Corinthians and then you go back to Genesis 3 16 It’s also spoken of where man will Will have authority over the woman now.
I’ve been on a Christian message board and There’s plenty of people trying to say that this does not exist anywhere But isn’t it fair to say that if nowhere in scriptures of something’s been canceled out, then it must stand as truth in these days. Well, I think it is true. No, I don’t know exactly the story. I heard a little bit about it, but not didn’t read the case. But I think it’s talking primarily about where the women lead in leadership, for example, Pastor Deacon, Elder, and so on, and that women should not have those positions.
I don’t understand the position of a teacher in a school. Certainly the Bible teaches that the older women should teach younger women and women to teach children, so I don’t understand the connection there as far as the firing of this woman. But I do not believe we should have women pastors. I think that’s in violation of that verse in 1 Timothy 2, 11 through 15. I really wish I had read the story. I didn’t follow exactly what she was doing or what roles she had other than just teaching children, it would cause her to get fired under that ruling.
Now, according to Dr. Schofield, this was all brought about because sin was brought into the world and a head ship needed to be formed. Would you agree with that? I would agree. That’s what it says in First Timothy 2, that Adam was formed first and then Eve. And so obviously there’s an order of creation and a like a chain of command that flows down in that way. And in 1 Corinthians 11 it mentions that there’s God the Father, then there’s Christ, and then there’s man, and then there’s the…
The children are to obey their parents, which is the order. There has to be structure and order. And then also it tells us in 1 Timothy that Eve was deceived, but Adam wasn’t. So apparently in spiritual matters women who think more emotionally than men who think more rationally as many of the cults have been founded by women because for example, Mary Baker Eddie said, well, you know, I’m not going to say that. and found by women because for example mary bacuretti said i just can’t believe in a god that would send anybody to help so she just road off hell and said there is no help because i think she couldn’t accept a god like that so i would be more likely to do that and i think that’s why god doesn’t want women to be the spiritual leaders now two things that niellson’s uh…
bible commentary comment commented on about the first timothy two eleven was one woman was deceived on knowingly and she truly was deceived where adam had sinned with his eyes open yes yes that’s true and number two was um… they had also put a comment in there where women are allowed to exercise their spiritual gifts but it should be under the but of a male authority would you agree with that absolutely yes okay because i was just trying to get this straight because you i was getting the show of an aesthetic type of comments on the message no you can read from god word you know that women are not out not to be able to do anything but they certainly ought to be under male authority yet you know that in the day that people pick and choose in their verses that they want to live by you know i i i i i just thought that that was going
on there and i i just wanted i studied it last night and just wanted to get your opinion so i thank you thank you that concludes today’s question and answer segment There is no other topic that is more important to us than the gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was Dr. Hank Lindstrom’s mission to spread the gospel. Through your support for Bibleline, you too can help to spread the gospel of Christ throughout the world and to reach others with the message of salvation through Jesus.

Now join us as we return to today’s teaching series. It tells us that God defeated the earth and the universe out of His energy, out of His power. So really Jeremiah was ahead of Einstein by about 3,000 years and telling us that the universe was created out of energy.
So the Bible is an amazing book. And of course, between what Einstein taught and what James Hubble brought the light, which he’s the one after which the Hubble telescope is named, but he discovered in looking at our universe that it’s expanding outward. And the Bible actually talks about how that God stretches out the universe in numerous Old Testament references. And it’s still stretching outward. Isaiah said that several thousands of years ago, but Hebel come along several thousands of years after the writers of the Bible mentioned it and discovered that.
When they take this expansion and bring it backward, it comes to a point. And of course, as a result, the Big Bang became now the popular theory that the universe exploded into existence with this Big Bang. And obviously that brings us back to who caused the Big Bang, who is the one that brought that about. And of course that makes us focus on God again. So all of a sudden they say the universe had a beginning. If it had a beginning then it had a beginning or.
And so who is the beginner, the creator, the one who caused the universe to come into existence. Of course the Bible has the answer in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. there was no universe, there was no time or space until God who existed from eternity past decided to create time and space. That’s what you see in Genesis 1-1. So he lives outside of time and therefore obviously can intercept time whenever he wants. And he takes some of his prophets as we see with Ezekiel backward in time, but now we’re going to see Ezekiel traveling forward in time.yip Let’s go back to the book of Ezekiel for this part of our study.
And we have Ezekiel here caught into the future. We’re now going to go to chapter 43 of Ezekiel and we find here in chapter 43 of Ezekiel afterward in verse 1 of chapter 43 of Ezekiel, Afterward, he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looked towards the east. That’s the gate we’ve been talking about. A gate that we looked at on the hallway with several of you a moment ago, and you see it is walled up just like…
Ezekiel had predicted that it would be. And it’s walled up to this very hour and will be until seven years after the rapture when Christ actually comes back and opens that gate and comes in. Now notice Ezekiel is brought to that gate, the Eastern Gate, that is looking toward the east which is toward the Mount of Olives. 2. And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east. Now what it’s saying here is that when Jesus returns, He’s going to come from the Mount of Olives to Jerusalem, which is in the direction of the West.
And so He comes from the east, the Mount of Olives to Jerusalem to the west of it, and he will come to that gate and open it up. Now hold your finger there, and we are going to turn over to Zechariah, and Zechariah is the 36th book of the Old Testament, the next to the last book of the Old Testament. In Zechariah chapter 14 we have the second coming of Jesus described. Notice if you will, Zechariah 14 verse 2, God says, I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle.
Now that’s quite a remarkable statement because that was written about 500 years before Christ came the first time and Jerusalem was not a very significant city in the world at that time. And yet it says here, I’ll gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. Today, we don’t laugh at that. We can see it on the horizon. We can see it in the news. Isn’t it interesting that, just like the Bible has predicted, that the whole world today is focused on the Middle East?
All you have to do is go back to World War I, World War II, and where were the wars and where were the armies? We know in World War II we were in the Far East over there in Japan and in the Pacific Islands and so on. Then after that we were in Korea and the Korean War. And then after that, further toward the Middle East and Vietnam and Cambodia and Thailand and all those countries. And then after that, notice we’re in the Middle East.
We’re squarely there. The military has changed their camouflage from the jungle camouflage of Vietnam to the desert camouflage of the Middle East. The plains and tanks all have that desert camouflage. Whereas if you were in the Vietnam era, you’d have the jungle camouflage. Because today we know that’s where the war is gonna be fought. And obviously the Bible tells us that long before it happens, Armageddon will start with the Middle East and the armies of the world coming against Jerusalem.
I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. I guess in those days that would be like me or some prophet saying, I’m going to bring all nations against Ebor City to battle. I mean we’d laugh and say that’s crazy. But Jerusalem wasn’t that significant a place. And here the Bible accurately tells us that all the nations would come against Jerusalem to battle. And today we see it. We can see it on the horizon. If you find in verse 3, then shall what?
The Lord go forth. Lord in all capitals is God Himself. Will go forth and fight against those nations. So Armageddon, although it starts out as a world war and will be the most devastating world war ever fought, it winds up being a war against Christ as He comes back in all of his power and all of his glory to rule and reign on his earth. And according to the book of Revelation, the armies of this world will turn their weapons against Christ.
And I’ve thought about that over the years. What I found interesting is that today because of the threat of being struck by an asteroid, We’ve had a number of near misses in recent years and they worry about a piece of rock might hit the planet. And they would like to be able to send a missile to intercept that asteroid and either explode it and destroy it, or at least divert its path enough so it would fly right on by the earth and we would be spared.
So there’s a lot of money going into now developing rockets that can target a asteroid coming at us and deflected. Hollywood has come out with some movies. Maybe you’ve seen one or two of those where they send a mission out to actually land on the asteroid and drill holes and plant atomic explosives and get out of there in time and blow it up. I think they split it in half and the pieces went flying right by the earth and they saved the earth.
It’s a great course Hollywood story. The Bible tells us that the earth will be struck during the tribulation period. Apparently a huge piece of rock will hit in the Mediterranean Sea. It will destroy a third of all the ships and all the life that’s in the Mediterranean. So apparently we will be hit. And certainly we can see how that in time that probably will happen. In any case, we find that perhaps Satan is using that. Because when they have these missiles ready to go with nuclear warheads against an asteroid that possibly might strike the Earth, when Christ comes back, they’ll be able to aim missiles at Christ Himself.
And I believe that’s probably what’s going to happen because they will actually fight against Jesus Himself and can you imagine missiles being launched with nuclear warheads to take out Jesus and His armies when He comes back to take over the Earth. Of course, it’s a futile attempt, but it’s interesting, anyway, as I’m a speculator, and I watch what’s happening in our world, that perhaps this is really the weapons that will be aimed against Jesus when he comes back, nuclear weapons against Christ himself.
Anyway, it says here, then the Lord shall go forth and fight against those nations as when he fought in the day of battle. It is believed by almost every scholar that this is talking about when he fought against the Egyptian army and drowned them in the Red Sea. God fought on behalf of Israel and destroyed Egypt, the superpower of the world at that time. And as we said, a picture of what will happen as we’re reading about right now, that the Antichrist or was pictured Pharaoh and the world and the governments of the world under the control of the Antichrist, pictured by Egypt, and Moses a picture of Christ, the deliver, and how Christ or Moses, God used Moses there and defeated their army, so will Christ, to keep the armies of this world.

Be sure to tune in to another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Look at the result in verse 23 of Matthew 7. Christ then will profess unto them, I never knew you. Not I once knew you and I lost you. That’s impossible. Wouldn’t you become saved, you’re saved forever? But he says, I never knew you. Why? Because they didn’t trust Christ and his death and shed blood is the only means of their salvation, they were trusting in their works and in their obedience to the Lordship of Christ.
Many preachers use the expression Christ is Lord of all or He is not Lord at all. I’ve sat into those kinds of preachers where they’ll say, if Jesus is not the Lord of your wallet, then He’s not your Lord. In other words, if you don’t give to that church, you’re not saved because Christ is not your Lord. And if you’re not faithful in attendance, then Christ is not your Lord, and therefore you’re not saved. And they add works in a very subtle way.
And it’s an incredible way of blackmailing people into being faithful in their church and giving money to the church. But guess what? The end result will be they’ll all go to hell because they’re trusting in their works to be saved rather than Christ’s death and shed blood. These people, this crowd here in Matthew 722. It could read many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, didn’t we trust in your death at the cross of Calvary that you were God who took on flesh, paid our sins that in full was buried and rose again from the dead, Christ would say, come on in.
But notice they are not trusting in Christ to get them to heaven. They’re saying, Lord, look at what we’ve done and we have submitted to your Lordship and have obeyed you and we have preached in your name, healed in your name, done many wonderful works in your name, and Christ will say, I never knew you. And then he says, Depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Did you know that this is the unpardonable sin and that the greatest sin that somebody can commit is to commit that unpardonable sin to reject Jesus Christ and substitute yourself in your works as the means of your salvation in place of God providing himself in the person of Christ that Calvary to pay for your sins.
In other words, this is a slap in the face of God to reject what Christ did and Jesus saying on the cross, it is finished and saying, no, it’s not. I have to do my part. I have to be obedient to the Lordship of Christ. I have to keep on working, keep on giving, keep on climbing, keep on whatever. And God says, I I never knew you. Depart from me ye that work iniquity.” You know, Christ will never cast out somebody who has come and trusted Him as their Savior, as the only means of their salvation, that He paid it all.
In John 6, 37, Christ says, Him that cometh of me, I will in no wise cast out. If you come to Christ, you’ll never be cast out. I plead for the souls of those that are listening right now. If you’re trusting in anything in addition to what Christ did for you at the cross, you will not be saved. It tells us in the Bible that if you add one work that you have made void God’s death at Calvary in the first of Christ, and that the cross of Christ is made of an effect.
1 Corinthians 1 17 says that Paul tells us there that he was sent to preach the gospel not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. If you try to alter this message or change it up to make it sound good, I’m afraid that you might be in danger of altering the message and it becomes a message that won’t say the cross of Christ would be of none effect to somebody who’s saying Christ plus my works will get me to heaven.
I plead for you You would be listening that you trust Jesus alone, that He paid it all. And when you trust in His finished work, He saves you. Then yes, we’re to serve Him, but not to be saved. We serve because we are saved. Now it’s my privilege. To live for him and tell him this is what this good means. Gotta run, keep looking up. Jesus is coming, keep your eyes focused on the Lord. And Dr. Hank Lindstrom saying goodbye, we’ll be back tomorrow.
