We’re going to talk about the Bible for a few minutes and we’ll take our collars. We’ve got lots of all fair. We’re good at trying to get caught up with those and I hope you’ll call it in if you have a question. The number is 1-800-576-3771. We’ve had a lot of comments here about angels. You know in the Bible, angels, when we talk about angels as the general concept of angels, they’re always in the male sex. There are no female angels.
That’s always amazing to me because when you see people who have angel collections, when you see angels on Christmas cards, when you see angels in these different productions or movies or plays or whatever, they always are female and they have wings. And of course, neither are true. Angels don’t have wings. They always appear as men. They don’t have babies. There are no baby angels. And some people say, well, I thought they had wings. And that’s because I think artists wanted to distinguish between humans and angels and put wings on them so that we would get that idea.
But there are no angels with wings in the Bible. You say, well, what about the seraphim? Or what about the cherubim? Well, those are special creatures. You know, the cherubim are the four living creatures in Revelation Chapter 4 are cherubim and they are limited in number. The angels are innumerable, but there’s a very limited number of cherubs and they’re a special living creature, they’re called, which are not really angels per se, and the cherubs are the same way. But the predominant group, which we call angels, always appear in the male form, and they’re mistaken everywhere for men.
You know, it says in Acts 1, for example, when Christ ascends back to heaven after his crucifixion, after he had showed himself alive for 40 days, he ascends back to heaven, and says, behold two men stood by them in shining garments, which said, why do you stand gazing up in the heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, He’ll still come in like manner as you’ve seen him go. Those were angels, and yet it addresses them as being men, and throughout the Bible that’s the case.
So angels are always male. By the way, the angel population has not increased even by one, or decreased by one. Angels don’t die. Angels are not born. So we don’t have any up or down in the angel population. created them all at one time and we have the same number of angels today as we did at the beginning. But you know, a third of them followed Satan in his attempted overthrow of heaven, and those third are the fallen angels.
But I think it’s interesting here at this time of year when we have so much talk about angels with the birth of Christ is that I cannot find a verse anywhere in the Bible where angels sing. It’s not a big point, but yet look at all the hymns that we have that tell us that angels sing when the Bible doesn’t say that. And it tells us something that we’re getting a lot of information from other sources and believe it to be true when the Bible doesn’t teach it.
There’s not a verse anywhere in the Bible where an angel ever saying anything, that’s not going to make a difference whether you’re going to heaven or hell, but it’s a lesson that a lot of things that we have been taught, a lot of things that we believe are not reliable sources. Hymns are not inspired. Only the word of God is. And you can trust the Bible from cover to cover. No doubt about it. The Bible is amazing. By the way, I did a 10-hour teaching on angels which is available on CD covering everything from the creation of angels until it tells us what will happen to the just angels and also what happens to the fallen angels eventually and what’s going on with angels right now and so on and so on.
By the way, believers don’t become angels. Did you know I had a person tell me you know that their uncle Bob died and they said is Bob an angel now? Of course the answer is no we never become angels when you become saved you become born again And the Bible says in Hebrews that we become above the angels Angels have never been called and will never be called the sons of God but angels are are beneath us who are believers, yet they are above us prior to our salvation.
So we know that angels are more powerful than we, but once we get saved, the Bible says that we become above the angels, and angels will minister to us and serve us throughout all eternity. So we never become angels. And it’s interesting that a lot of confusion is out there about angels. I had one gentleman last year. He went to the mall with his wife and of course he was bored while she did the shopping and he thought he’d go on a quest and he went around to different stores looking for and asking sales people and the managers if they had a male angel for sale.
Couldn’t find one. It’s amazing in all the stores where they sell angels, they’re always female. And of course, guess what? They’re not angels because angels are not female. And so if you have an angel collection and they’re all female, then I don’t know what you have there, but they’re not angels. Angels are always in the male form. Well, I brought all that out because, you know, we learn so much that is not difficult. of so much about the Christmas story as well.
Did you know that the wise men did not follow the star from the east to Jerusalem? That’s right. When they got to Jerusalem, they said we have seen past tense his star in the east. They saw it again once they left Herod, but they did not follow the star from the east to Jerusalem. And yet so many Christmas pajons, How many Christmas cards show the shepherds rather than the wise men following the star from the east to Jerusalem? That’s not what happened.
And again, the stories get confused. We see many times three kings. Nothing in the Bible about three kings. It talks about wise men and it doesn’t tell us that there are three. I suspect that there were probably several dozen. And with all the accompanying people that traveled with them on the caravan to the east, rather from the east to Jerusalem, there were probably hundreds that rode into Jerusalem and said, whereas he that is born king of the Jews. In any case, the story of the gospel is what’s really important.
And if you haven’t gotten some of these other things right, maybe it’s a tip-off that we We ought to take a look at what the Bible says about salvation, because that makes the difference between heaven and hell. I had salvation wrong, I was raised in church, and thought I had to work my way to heaven, that salvation was dependent upon what I would do when the Bible very clearly tells us it’s not about anything that I do. It’s not what I do for Jesus or God that saves me, it’s what Jesus did for me at the cross that he paid my sin debt in full.
The Bible says, whosoever, believeth or trusteth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. That means that at the moment you believe you possess everlasting life. Well, in any case, I’m Dr. Anglins from Mrs. Bibleline, and I wish you a very Merry Christmas, and I hope that you will have a safe one and a Wonderful time as a believer telling others this wonderful story of how to have eternal life We’re gonna go to the phone lines the phone number is 1-800-576-3771 1-800-576-3771 we have Steve in St.
Petersburg and Steve welcome to Bibleline you are on the air Good morning, dr. Hank good morning. I had a question about in Luke, it’s on page 1083 of the Bible, in the sower. On the second one, it’s verse 13 of chapter 8. It says, day on the rock, are they which when they hear receive the word with joy, and these have no root, which for a while believe And in time of temptation, fall away. That’s confusing to me. They believed and then they fell away.
I don’t know what that means. Well, I was talking about they get saved, but they don’t produce any fruit. And what it’s saying is that they fall away from serving the Lord. And it’s just like the children of Israel. They were redeemed from Egypt by the blood of the Passover Lamb, a picture of Christ. But then they got into the wilderness, and they He didn’t believe the words of the Lord that He would take care of their needs and take them into the Promised Land and so on.
So we not only are saved by faith, but then the Christian life is also one of believing what God says. These simply don’t grow. They don’t go anywhere in their Christian life and they don’t have any fruit according to that passage. They are believers who will go to heaven but have no rewards apparently in heaven because they bear no fruit. And they just quickly kind of fall to the wayside after they get saved. I’m sure you’ve seen people like that.
They really get saved and then what happens to them? They don’t really make any progress and it’s because they have too many other things that are conflicting with what they believe that just kind of produce or make them unproductive and unfruitful. Right and the verse before that it almost sounds as if he doesn’t want them to get saved because it gets down to take it the way the word of their hearts left they should be believe and be saved.
Well if you read that very carefully Satan who doesn’t want them to be saved and he takes away what has been sown. It’s amazing to me that when a person hears the gospel it seems like the cult members come along right right after After that event, the next day is like the devil knows, and he sends people along to confuse them and take away that which they had received and they don’t get saved at all. So it’s not the Lord that doesn’t want to be saved, but it’s the devil who comes along and takes away that which they have heard unless they be saved.
Okay. Thanks a lot. Okay, Stephen, thank you for calling. That was Steve in St. Petersburg. We have Eden in Port Charlotte, Florida, and Eden. Welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Dr. Hank. Okay, I have two questions this morning. My first question is I need to know what happened with the noises he died. He died. The Bible had an executive member with an dangerous come because of the body, but there was a fight between the eight. Well, it talks about that in Jude verse 9, and it says that Satan was not happy about what happened.
Apparently, God has preserved Moses’ body because Moses is coming back. Did you know that? He’s going to be preaching during the tribulation period after the rapture for three and a half years. In fact, Elijah is coming back and Moses will come back. The Bible says in Revelation 11 that they will preach for 42 months, that’s 3 and a half years, and that they will do the things that they did once before Elijah prayed and it didn’t rain during the days of wicked King Ahab and his wife, Jezebel.
And we find it won’t rain for those 3 and a half years as Elijah will pray and it will not rain during the first part of the tribulation. Also, we find that Moses will come back and he will turn the waters to blood and he will smith years with plagues as often as he will. So that’s exactly what he did before in his prior ministry. So Elijah of course didn’t die. So there was no problem about his body, but he was caught up alive.
But Moses died and God has preserved that body. And Moses is apparently claiming foul. They’re in Jude chapter 1 verse 9. And Michael, the archangel, doesn’t get in a battle with him but says simply the lord re-buccy and so that’s what it’s all about i think it’s about The fact that Moses is coming back. Okay, thank you. And my second question is there was two prophets in the Bible. nobody would have said then die i think it’s a great job in the e-10 well in a in a in the lager the two in the old testament and in a live before the flood he’s a picture of the rapture he was caught up translated to be with the lord just before the flood and We believe the flood is a picture of the tribulation period eating because a picture of the church being raptured out
at the event called the Rapture and the He’s the chief of the Jewish people who will survive the tribulation period, and then repopulate the earth and become the head nation on the earth during the thousand year earthly reign of Christ the millennium, which is yet to come. He will happen seven years after we’re raptured out. Okay. Thank you very much. Alright, you’re welcome. Thank you for calling from Port Charlotte, Well, you know, some of the new translations, people out there buying Bibles right now, and a lot of them are not very good.
We have a book here called New Age Bible Versions, about 700 and something pages that exposes about 20 of the newer ones. You know, in the new American Standard, it in John 647, where Jesus tells us that we have to believe on Him to be saved, that’s missing. It simply says in John 647 in the New American Standard, he who believes has everlasting life. Whereas in the King James it says, whosoever believeth in me has everlasting life. And so obviously the verses drop the part that’s most important.
You have to believe on Christ in order to be saved. You have to trust Christ as your Savior. You know, in the temptation of Christ back in Matthew chapter 4, when Jesus says, get behind me Satan, if you have a new American standard, it’s not there. That phrase, get behind me Satan’s gone. It’s amazing how many deletions and emissions occur in these modern translations. The new living translation, which people are buying because it reads very simply, every time the word repent occurs, they simply take a word processor and they say, turn from your sins.
Well, the Greek word doesn’t mean turn from your sins. You wonder what group of people got together to do the new living translation because they obviously didn’t do any translating because the Greek word metanoia, metamining changed noia meaning mine, means exactly that, a change of mind. It doesn’t mean the turn from sin, it doesn’t mean sorrow for sin. And when you read the new living translation, for example, in Acts 2.38 where Peter says repent, which means change your mind, it says Peter replied in the new living translation, every one of you must turn from your sin and turn to God to have the forgiveness of sin.
That’s works for salvation. And I’ve noticed that they must have just taken a word processor and just copied the phrase, turned from your sin and where repent occurs, they just put it in there every place, but that’s not accurate. One of the most amazing stories to me is when Jesus died, He went into paradise in the heart of the earth and He descended into the heart of the earth and emptied out that paradise where all the Old Testament believers were waiting for their salvation to be accomplished.
And guess what? The new living translation completely eliminates that story. Do you want a Bible that eliminates some of the key stories in the Bible? Well, in the King James it says he descended into the lower parts of the earth. And when he ascended, he led captivity captive. What group did he lead captive? It was all the Old Testament saints that were waiting to be saved. Well, when you read in the New Living Translation, it says here in chapter 4 of Ephesians, it says, now it says, he ascended.
This means that Christ first came down to the lowly world in which we live, the same one who came down that he might ascend higher than all the heavens. Well, he just says in this passage in this New Living Translation that he came down to the world in which we live. That’s not paradise. That’s not the place in the heart of the earth. That’s not the story we read about in the Bible in Ephesians. The new living translation just absolutely deletes the whole story.
Let me read it to you from Ephesians 4 where it says in the King James, wherefore he saith, when he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts unto men. Now he that ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? You know in Matthew 1240 Christ said he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. This is talking about that and then it says he that descended is the same that also ascended up far above all heavens.
This is when Christ went down. You know remember he told the dying thief, today thou shall be with me in paradise. At the same time he said in Matthew 1240 he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Paradise was in the heart of the earth. Christ went down into the heart of the earth according to Ephesians 4. And took that group, Captie, that were saved, the Old Testament saints up to heaven, and now they’re with the Lord in heaven.
The new living translation completely deletes that whole story. These new translations, I’ll tell you, I wouldn’t give you a dime for them, because they cheat you. They delete stories, they delete passages, they delete phrases. In fact, the English standard version has 5,337 deletions. And off of that one came the American standard version, off of that came the new American standard version, and many of these are all including those same deletions. What does the Bible say in Revelation? We’re not to add or to subtract from the Bible.
There’s a curse if you do. Certainly the people that have made these translations have got an answer to God one day and God is going to have that curse ready for them because they’re missing with the Word of God. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and we have lots of callers still waiting to get up on the air. We’re going to have to do it in the second half because we’re coming up on the break. Alright, we’re through that break. I’m Dr. Anne Glungstrom and this is Bible and we’re coming to you from Tampa from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor. And we look forward to being with you every day Monday through Friday. And again, thanks for tuning in.
We have so many wonderful listeners all over the country and we have many calls yesterday from all over the U.S. Whether that are listening either by internet or listening on a live broadcast And we’re excited about that by the way the station in Nashville Just told us that they’re playing us as a bonus Monday through Friday from 1 to 2 in the morning That’s exciting and so we’re getting more and more calls from Nashville and they’re Listening in the middle of the night as well as during the daytime that is exciting plus We’re on in Memphis and we’re getting more and more of an audience from Memphis and maybe you’re listening right now in Memphis And would like to call in maybe you’re wanting to call in for mobile, Alabama We have Roger waiting we’ll put him on the air just a minute for mobile,
Alabama And we have Doug right now waiting from Pensacola, Florida And all those are in the pan handling over to our neighbor state here in Florida, Alabama In any case, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and we hope that you will have a safe and wonderful, and joyous holiday and especially as a believer to share the gift of eternal life with those that are in your family and neighbors and friends. This is a great time to do that.
We have this Christmas special which is a great evangelistic tool that can be used not only right now at Christmas but also throughout the year. We’ll send you 20, how permanent is your Salvation CDs? We also will send you free ticket tracks to go along with that. The book called Handbook of Personal Evangelism and also my video DVD on Salvation that you can play for a gathering. And then some of my articles, a gift of $100 for a value of about $150.
We hope that you’ll take advantage of that. Also, you can get a year of my sermons. 52 messages that I have delivered from the pulpit, use it there about 50 minutes long, and those are available on CD, and for 52 Sunday messages, and you’ll really, I think, enjoy those for a gift of $250. You can have all 52 messages of the year sent out to you. So we had a fellow from Pennsylvania called in yesterday. He said, I got to have all of those sermons for the whole year and ordered that yesterday.
And so many are trying to get the years worth of sermons for a gift of Bibleline of $250 you can call and order all those things. Bibleline, by the way, is listener supported. If you’d like to be a part of this ministry by praying for and giving the Bibleline, we certainly would welcome that and thank you in advance for considering doing that. You can call our 800 number. Our operators can tell you how you can mail a gift to Bibleline or you can give one by credit card over the phone.
And certainly as we approach Christmas, you might think of Bibleline as a way of giving a gift to Christ. You know, the wise men gave every one of their gifts exclusively to Christ. I Don’t recall them giving a gift to Mary or to Joseph, all the gifts were given to Jesus. If you haven’t given yet a gift to Jesus this season, would you consider Bibleline as a way of giving a gift to Christ to keep Bibleline on the air?
You can do that by again calling the 800 number. You can also give on the online bookstore on our website, BibleLineMinistries.org. You can also mail a gift in and if you call you can get the address recited to you or our operators will be happy to mail you an envelope with our address already on it. In any case, Merry Christmas and God bless you and thanks in advance for your prayers and for your gifts to Bible. And we’re going first to Doug in Pensacola, Florida and Doug, welcome to Bibleline.
And you are on the air. Here. Yes, sir. It’s Brotherland. It’s called every time you say something you bring something to my remembrance which I know is scriptural. I You said something about the new American standard people think mostly there’s minor errors now people maybe not get excited about what you said they’ll go well to God for somewhere else but But the NIV and the NAS both preach heretical doctrine. They have a heresy in John chapter one. It’s real apparent in the New American standard we’re called Jesus, a begotten God in John 1 18 instead of the God and Son.
Now in the NIV, which I have in front of me, it says, and I know you know this earth very well, no man has ever seen God, comma, but God the one and only. That’s really messed up. Who is that? The father’s side has made him known. And the New American standard, which I cannot imagine any convention claiming to be biblical would even adopt that as their Bible. But there are conventions that do call Jesus a begotten God. Well, that’s the same thing as the people that go door to door saying we have two different gods and Jesus is a lesser God.
Well you’re absolutely right. You know, the newer translations do a lot of damage unless you’re a careful Bible student or pay attention. And Satan is so clever, you know, because he doesn’t really spend much time adding to the Bible because people would pick up all that real quick. But when he deletes here and deletes there and in another place, you don’t use a pickup on that unless you’re really watching carefully. So he definitely is going to subtract. For a quote.
And he’ll say, well, he’s the only son of God, all right? now I’ve got nothing to do with you talking about with the angels. But, Adam at the end of Luke chapter 3 verse 38, says, finishes, which was the son of Adam, comma, which was the son of God. He was a special created being, but Jesus Christ, what they’ll do in these new Bibles, brother, is they’ll keep you leading the word be caught, they keep taking the word be caught now with separation for many other being in the creation.
Of course, you’ve got to create a being. He’s the only begotten son. Amen. John 3 16 says for God’s love of the world that he gave his only begotten son, the Holy human being that God was the father of was Jesus and Jesus is of course God the eternal son in dwelling in that body that was born at Bethlehem and this is our Savior. They’ll do that all the way through John and the epistles of John. so if you’ve got a new bible out there of the first you’re losing what who jesus really was they’ll even try to say well he was unique so no he was with father from the beginning to be read the uh…
proverbs you he was with him daily he was a delight he created the world of flight it’s so fantastic i know like i said brother uh… i’m in your a-man corner to be safe something you stir up my remember thank you brother all right thanks a lot calling in from pencecola florida and we now have roger in alabama roger but for mobile alabama but you will be on the air i uh… i was reading yesterday uh… how luster roll off uh…
had died it had shocked me i’d never know now that he went down in the airplane crash and uh… it gets you to wondering now what what is heaven like uh… when you get there you know and uh… I believe that probably the most predominant thing won’t be all the things that we see. We know that when New Heavenly Jerusalem descends there’s a lot of jewels and gold and flash like that. But I think it’ll be the very presence of the Lord.
He’s infinite. And the fruit of the Spirit’s love, joy and peace. And I think we’re going to be able to feel that in an infinite way. Talk about getting high. I mean, yeah, we’re going to be high. And you know, there’s one time I remember, I recall just before I woke up, I was in a dreaming. And I felt like an undulation of the spirit. I could feel the joy and I just can’t put words on just how beautiful it was.
But when we get in there in the heaven, we won’t have the shackles of the flesh and we’re going to be able to feel this thing. We’re going to be able to go to the Father and ask them things you know i who knows maybe i don’t don’t know down the way we’ll be able to ask them maybe he’ll give us a private vacation spot maybe a little universal somewhere and uh… a place where we could uh… we could visit uh…
other brothers and sisters who what not uh… i don’t think it’ll all be right here on earth i think that uh… the god is infinite and uh… in the possibilities are infinite and the one it’s going to be great no doubt about it rogerin it’s going to be great but that feeling when you get there brother uh… uh… lintstrom Just remember what I’m telling you right now and you get that feeling by Christ that just a beautiful high that you’re gonna feel it’s gonna be gorgeous and it’s gonna be infinite.
Amen. Thank you Roger Roger calling in for Mobile Alabama. We have some all fair questions. Let me go ahead and take a couple. We have Mark in Tampa, Florida. He calls in and says you said that Judas went to hell. But you said that Satan and his demons would be put there first. Please explain. Well obviously Judas is right now waiting in his own place. place. It describes that next 125 in the heart of the earth in Hades, a place of flaming torment where he certainly will be eventually cast into hell.
So you’re actually technically right Mark. Satan is the first one into hell along with his cohearts, the beast and the Antichrist. Then we find Satan’s angels are cast in next and then everyone in the human race, including Judas, will be cast into hell at the end of the Millennial Kingdom. So Mark You’re absolutely right on and thank you for bringing that clarification for everybody. Andrew in New York just calls in and he leaves us off air question and he says, why does everyone have a Christmas tree?
It says in Jeremiah chapter 10, don’t do as the heathen do. What position is one in which they put up the tree in presence under it? Or what position is one place himself when he does that? Well obviously the Christmas tree is pagan. It was the way that Baal’s birthday was celebrated at the winter solstice by cutting down a perfectly good tree, taking it home, nailing it down, decorating it with silver gold. That’s described exactly in Jeremiah chapter 10.
And God, of course, says, don’t do is the heathen do, which is, of course, to worship Baal. And this is the way that they did that. And today, that has gotten incorporated into Christianity ever since Constantine declared the world to be Christian, the pagan way of celebrating didn’t go away. I simply called it now the observance of Christ’s birthday. But I don’t think people today are worshipping bailed, but certainly the tree is pagan in origin. I personally don’t have a tree.
We don’t put a tree up in my church anywhere because we believe the tree is pagan. But some just don’t want to get rid of the custom. If you’re going to use a tree, at least make it celebrate Christ. Because Jesus was nailed to a tree. There are several verses in the New Testament that talk about how Christ was hung on a tree, how he was nailed to the tree, and that the crucifixion was on a tree. And obviously that is also true.
The tree of Calvary is the tree that brought about salvation. And if you have children and you do use a tree, point out that the gifts under the tree are not really what Christmas is all about, but the gift that was nailed to the tree, Jesus Christ, is what Christmas is about. And when you trust on Jesus, then you receive the gift of God, which is eternal life. I personally don’t use the tree but if you’re going to use it at least point out Christ being nailed to the tree and get the gospel across to your children.
John in Miami, Florida calls in just now and he says, Dr. Lindstrom, you said that Jesus birthday is really in October which is of course a time when Halloween occurs and that day was taken by Satan. Number one, how was this done? And how did December 25th come about as being celebrated as birthday? Well, the answer is that again, Constantine declared the world to be Christian and the pagan holiday was celebrated by most of the world and it continued, but it was now called the birthday of Christ.
And of course, the real birthday being around, I think, the Feast of Tabernacles, which was a prophetic picture of how Christ would take on human flesh and tabernacle among men really occurred in October, maybe even October 31st. Satan has robbed that day away and taken all the glory away from Christ, which is of course what he would like to do. And so I believe he probably was born in October. I celebrate both days. I think it’s a wonderful opportunity here when the world is talking about Christ, even though they don’t know who he is.
He gives me a chance to tell him that Jesus is God who came and took on human flesh and went to the cross and paid our sin debt and full by his death and shed blood. And when you trust him, you can receive the most wonderful gift in all of the universe, the gift of everlasting life. Romans 6, 23 says, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 8 8 12 9 8 8 6 7 8 8 8 9 8 9 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 8 John asks, is it okay to celebrate Christmas?
I think it is. But again, don’t let Christmas over shadow the cross because you can celebrate Christmas and go to hell. You must believe that Christ died in order to be saved. Salvation was not accomplished in Bethlehem but in Jerusalem on Mount Calvary when Jesus died to pay for the sins of the world. The gospel message is the message of Christ’s death, barrel, and resurrection when you trust the Christ. Christ did that for you. God saves you. Paul in St.
Petersburg calls in with this all-fare question. He says, do you have a special invitation for Christmas? Have you ever written on Galatians 2? 20? Have you ever tied that into the birth of Christ? When I shared my visit to your church with my wife, she nodded an agreement with me with me that we have been looking for a church like yours for almost 18 years. Wow, Paul, that’s amazing. You know, I know that churches today that teach the Word of God are becoming very rare.
And we certainly invite, I don’t know what you mean by special invitations for Christmas, but we invite everybody to come and celebrate with us. And of course, the invitation of Christmas is offered all year long. God offers people in the invitation to trust Christ and receive His gift of everlasting life. Galatians 2-20 is one of my favorite verses where it says, I do not frustrate the word in the Greek means to thwart or nullify or make void the grace of God.
If righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. And that’s true. Most people are trying to work their way to heaven and if they try to work their way to heaven, then Christ’s death was in vain because he came and died because we couldn’t earn our way to heaven and we couldn’t purchase our salvation or gain it or buy it by anything that we would do. We have Claudette calling in from St. Petersburg. She leaves this off air question.
What is your opinion of the Salvation Army and their doctrines? Well, they do a lot of wonderful things for people, no doubt about it. But they are a church and their doctrines on salvation are wrong. They believe salvation is by works, that you could lose your salvation. All of this is completely heretical. So obviously the Salvation Army teaches a false gospel, but they certainly do a lot of good deeds and we cannot deny that of the Salvation Army, but their salvation message is that false message.
Lewis in Tampa, Florida says, what about the Christmas tree? Yes or no? Well, I say no, but you’re never going to stop it. You know, you look around and everybody’s or a lot of people are buying trees. And you know, we just really need to reach out to people that don’t know. And it’s not the tree that’s the big problem. They They don’t know who Christ is. And they don’t realize that, as it says in Luke 2, 11, the angel told the shepherds, unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
Jesus is a Savior. He’s the Christ. That means he’s the Messiah. And he’s God. He’s the Lord. And that’s the message that needs to get out. And if a person wants to understand that, then the tree becomes pale and significant because it’s almost like an idol to some. And certainly when you know Christ, we’re set free. As Jesus said, when you know the truth, the truth will say you’re free and I don’t need the tree. I just need Jesus and I’ve trusted him and I received eternal life when I was 18 and I’ll possess it forever and ever and ever.
Walter in Bradenton, Florida just calls in and leaves this off air question and he says, have you heard that maybe Jesus’ conception was around December 25th? Well, I’ve heard a lot of things, but certainly, you know, if he was born in October, just calculate nine months and figure it out, but it doesn’t look like December 25 would fit his conception either. We’re going to get a mark in Litz, Florida, and Mark, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, I’d like you explain something to me in 1 Thessalonians 4, 14 through 18.
Alright, this is a wonderful passage about the Rapture, and it tells us in verse 14 the key to being saved, the key to being in the Rapture, it says if we believe what? That Jesus died and rose again. So if you trust that Jesus Christ died on the cross, shed his blood, paid for your sin, dead and full with buried rose again from the dead, God says that he saved you. And he says, notice that God will bring those with him that have died, that have believed that.
That’s what happens at the rapture. Their bodies rise up from the earth when it says the dead in Christ rise first. referring to the body. The soul is alive and conscious and with the Lord Christ brings verse 14 their soul back their body rises verse 16 from the earth and meets their soul in the air. Then verse 17 says we which are alive and remain will be caught up to meet them that is those that have already died their believers and received their body at the return of Christ at the rapture and were caught up alive and are transformed into our new bodies and meets them in the air shortly after they get to the end.
get their bodies and it’s actually in the twinkling of an eye. But this is when all the believers of all of the past two thousand years since Pentecost until the Rapture are going to be gathered together to the church, the body of Christ in one place at one time in the atmosphere above the earth. So I hope that answers it a little bit. That’s a quick summary. Yeah, it’s good. Thank you. All right. Mark in Luke’s, Florida asking about that passage and usually people get confused about But whether a person is actually with the Lord, if the Bible speaks about them sleeping or being dead and rising from the earth, and two things are going on there, the soul is with the Lord, the bodies in the grave and their soul and bodies are reunited at the event of the rapture.
So Christ brings their soul back. Most people miss verse 14. Mike and Tampa, Florida, calls in with this off-air question and he says if Enoch was translated and never died, would he be allowed to see death? The answer is no. And there is going to be a whole group just like Enoch that will be exempted from death. Read John 1126. Jesus said, well, I’ll read verse 25 first because it says, Jesus said that he is the resurrection and the life, whosoever believeth in him, though he die, yet shall he live again.
verse 26 says, and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. So there is a group living at the end of the age that believe on Christ that will never be exempted from death, they will never, never, ever die. And Enoch was a picture of that and he never did experience death. If you read Hebrews chapter 11 verse 5 it says, by faith Enoch was translated. In other words, he was taken right up and transformed into a new body on the way up a picture, I believe, of the Rapture.

That’s for a gift of 100. That’s a special Christmas offer. We have Donna in Fort Walton Beach and Donna. Welcome to Bibleline. Merry Christmas, Pastor. Well, thank you. Merry Christmas to you. Good to hear from you. Listen, when I first heard about the false doctrines of the Salvation Army, I just hadn’t bothered to check that out myself. I just had always contributed every year. And so I did a Google search about a month ago and I got wonderful teachings on their doctrine and their false doctrines that they teach.
But along with mixing in works with salvation and believing that you can lose your salvation if you sin, they also don’t believe in water baptism and the Lord’s Supper is of no relevance to the Christian today in the church so they don’t do that either. But anyway, after I found out and read all of the false doctrine that’s in their church, it was difficult, I must say, to pass by the Salvation Army Belringers this year. I didn’t want to contribute to a church even though it’s the part that gives the way to the needy and to the poor because it would be giving to, you don’t know if a portion goes to the church that is teaching that false doctrine.
Are you of the same mind? Well, I am absolutely. The Bible says that if we give to them and bid them God’s speed, 2nd John 11 says we’re partaker of their evil deeds. So we don’t want to do that. There’s lots of creative ways we can give to the Lord and to the poor and help people without supporting a false doctrine. That’s exactly where I stand. I don’t want to have it be a negative for me and God take away from rewards I could have if I were to be more discerning in my giving.
Well, I was certainly glad to learn from listening to the Bibleline because I did not know this. I just went on assumption that they were, you know, up and up as far as their doctrinal beliefs that, boy, when I did further research, I really found that they weren’t. And I just really appreciate that you pointing out that. And like I said, I will find another way to give to the poor. It’s unfortunate that and once I read this and from what she said to it was It was quite an eye-opener Well done I certainly have to applaud the good works that the Salvation Army do but their doctrine is flawed kind of run keep looking up Jesus is coming.

Alright, I’m Dr. Englund Striman. We’ve got a caller, Marie, and I’m going to put Marie up on the air here as we conclude the program today. Marie, what is your question? Hi, Pastor. It’s good to talk to you. I just wanted to know what your take on, you said during the millennial lane that you believe that the Jewish people that survived the tribulation would live and forest the earth. And I just wanted to know what you thought about the people who were raptured if they would also live during that time on earth or…
Okay, we’re going to come back and rule and reign with Christ. We’ll be in our glorified bodies, but they will be in their mortal bodies. Those that come out of the tribulation period will not have died, and they’ll marry and have children or children will marry and have children and so on. So that it’s really a combining of heaven and earth together. And that’s what it says in Ephesians 1 where it talks about the dispensation of the photos of times is where heaven and earth is combined where Christ is actually living and ruling here on the earth and we’re going to come back with him to rule and reign.
Okay. So you don’t think that we’ll be living as the people on earth live the same way as we will be? No, not at all. In fact, I think personally that we’re going to be invisible to the actual subjects of the millennial kingdom. And just like angels are serving and ministering right now and we don’t see them, I think we’ll have a role similar to that during that time. Okay, well thank you very much. You’re very welcome and that was Maria and we’re so glad that you tuned in the Bible and today I hope you’ve enjoyed the program.
