It’s going to be a great time of fellowship.
And we’d love to have you come and be my guest. Bring your Bible, your family, and join us for 1030 worship. Great It’s something to come by. We’ll be talking about the scriptures in just a minute, but let me just say something. I invited Jesus into my heart for 12 years and was never saved. You can’t get saved that way. Nobody’s ever been saved that way. Well, if you say you were saved that way, it’s in spite of that, or maybe you’re not saved.
You know, the only way to be saved is to trust Christ. The Bible says, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and they’ll shall be saved. The word belief from the Greek pustuo, P-I-S-T-E-U-O, means to trust. Relie upon, to put your confidence and to rest your weight upon. And you can only be saved when you trust in the finished work of Christ as Savior. Not only is inviting Christ in your heart or life a false gospel, it allows you to bypass the cross.
All you have to do is invite Him in. Did you know that both thieves asked to be saved? Both thieves asked to be saved? That’s right. But only the one that believed was saved. Only the one that trusted Christ was saved on the cross. I probably did it every Sunday for 50 Sundays of year, for 12 years from the time I was 6 till I was 18. And I was never saved. didn’t understand until after I was 18 that I had to trust Jesus that he made the payment for my sin was buried and rose again from the dead in order to be saved.
And yet this thing is so popular today that most preachers are using the phrase invite Christ into your life or into your heart. Did you know that’s a consequence of salvation? There are dozens and dozens of consequences and you can ask God for a consequence and not be saved because you’re not saved by asking for a consequence of salvation. You’re saved by trusting in the death of the Bill of the Resurrection of Christ. The gospel message is that Christ died for our sins according to the Scripture.
That’s 1 Corinthians 15, 3, and 4. And that he was buried, and that he rose again from the dead according to the Scriptures. And that gospel message is the message that is the power of God and the salvation to everyone that believe it again that word means the trust. You cannot be saved unless you trust Christ as Savior. I was raised in a church and I was raised within your heart. Theology and I invited Christ into my heart fifty times a year for twelve years that six hundred times I invited Jesus into my heart and was never saved.
And by the way you can’t get saved that way because that’s not the gospel. The gospel is believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and I’ll show it be saved. Now some people say well what about Revelation 320? Behold I stand at the door of Nock. If you read Revelation 320 in this context it’s talking about the door of the church at Laodicea not the door of your heart and not the door of your life. It’s not even talking about salvation, it’s talking about fellowship.
It says that I want to come in and have supper with you. That’s to sit down and have an intimate time of fellowship and discussion and so on. Not talking about salvation, not at all. Salvation is a gift. Salvation is received when you trust in the work of Christ. And to invite Christ in your heart as a false gospel, and I’m a victim of it, I went twelve years asking Jesus to come into my heart and I never was saved.
That’s scary. That’s really scary. Sincerely, I asked, you know, I had a bunch of little prayers all lined up because my theology wasn’t based on the Bible and the church I was raised in, we sold them, ever used the Bible. But we would sing the chorus into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus, come into today, come into stay, come into my heart, Lord Jesus, we were saying that every Sunday and then we had a moment of silence where everybody was to invite Christ into their heart.
And every Sunday I would say my little prayer, Jesus please come into my heart. And then I had prayer number two, Jesus, if you came into my heart before you left, would you please come back into my heart? Prayer number three, if you never came into my heart Jesus, would you please come in for the first time? Prayer number four, if you left in the past, please don’t ever leave again, stay this time, please stay in my heart. And I had only little prayers lined up, and I would say them all to have all my bases covered.
And it was all based on this chorus, into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus, come in today, come into stay, come into my heart, Lord Jesus, course is all messed up because it implies that Jesus will come and go and that’s not true. Jesus says when you do get saved, when you do trust Christ, He says in Hebrews 13 5, I will never leave you. Never means never. I’ll never leave you. Wow. But it’s so interesting.
You know there are four operations of the Holy Spirit that every believer has. One is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit or the indwelling of Christ that happens at the moment you believe. consequence. But equally, another consequence is that in order to be saved, we have to be in Christ’s body. Did you know at the moment you trust Christ as Savior, you’re placed into the body of Christ and the Bible says that you’re seen in Christ? Philippians 3 9 says, Be found in Him, be found in Him, be found in Him by faith.
Why don’t these people just switch it every now and then, instead of saying invite Christ into your life, why don’t we go tell people that are lost? Get into Jesus. You need to get into Jesus’ body. Climb into Jesus’ body right now. It’s the counterpart. Both are consequences, and I’m just being facetious here, but to be saved, the moment you’re saved, you’re placed by God into Christ’s body. At the same time Christ comes and dwells in your body. Why don’t we You just pick on the one invite Christ into your body when equally we have to be in Christ body to be saved.
So let’s go out and tell the lost. Instead of inviting Christ in your life, get into Jesus body. Climb into Jesus body right now. Get into the body of Christ. Right now let’s jump into the body of Christ. I’m doing this just to make a point because you don’t get saved by asking for a consequence either to have Christ come into your body or to ask that you might be in Christ body. It all happens when you trust Christ.
Philippians 3 9 be found in him by faith be found in him by faith be found in him by faith Philippians 3 9 So John 3 16 says it all for God’s soul of the world that you and me that he gave his only begotten son as Jesus Christ that whosoever what? Believe that that means to trust if you would trust in him you would not perish But you would have everlasting life I say all this because I I plead for souls because I know what it’s like to go to church.
I was confirmed and baptized a marginalized, pasteurized, cap-sized, Simonized, you name it, I went through it. And I wasn’t saved and my heart goes out. The people that are misled and confused by the terminology today that is wrong. There’s no way to excuse it. It’s just wrong. There’s no, none of us in the Bible. It says to invite Christ into your heart or life, not a verse, not one. And again, I know you’ll say Revelation 320. That’s not talking about your heart.
Not talking about your life. It’s talking about the door of the church of Laodicea. And it’s not even talking about salvation. It’s talking about fellowship, having supper with Christ, sitting down and enjoying that. Well, we’re going to go to the phone lines and we have a call. We’ve been waiting patiently for a long time. time here. We’re going to talk to Carol in St. Petersburg. Welcome. Hello, how are you doing? I need some desperate help with chapter and Genesis.
I’m having a heck of a time with it. Genesis 19. All right. It talks about and this is the chapter where everybody talks about homosexual and all that. I don’t care about that. Here’s my struggle with this whole chapter. It talk about those angels, two angels are what not coming and talking a lot and the inhabitants want to have sex with the two angels and then a lot offers his virgin daughters. That’s a little bump in the road for me too but then further on down his two daughters, I think it’s his two daughters, get him drunk and have sex with him and I mean to me that is just the grossest thing in the world and I I guess the problem I’m having with that is everybody points to that chapter because the fire and brimstone or whatnot because of the alleged homosexuality.
Good grief. Wouldn’t the two girls have a sex with the father? Wouldn’t that be paramount? I’d rather see a whole group of guys having sex with the two daughters with their drunken father. I don’t know if that was the culture or what. culture a lot. Well, see, that’s the consequence as a believer lot, choosing to live in a sinful place like Sodom. And it contaminates you, you know, and so a lot was an example of a Christian who went astray, who went away from the Lord, who chose deliberately to live in a very sinful, wicked environment.
And look at what the consequences were for his children. Here is two daughters raised in that environment, now commit incest with him and have children by him. And this is the tragic story that can happen to anybody who chooses to run away from God. And there are consequences. And basically it’s a picture that when you die, that as a believer, if you haven’t done anything for the Lord worthy of reward, all your treasures will be destroyed or left behind because a lot, everything he owned was an earthly treasure.
He didn’t lamp treasures in heaven. So his house, his bank account and everything was destroyed when Sodom went up in flames. The first national bank of Sodom went up in flames and all of his investments went up in flames. His car is boat, everything he owned. I don’t know if he had a car to boat, And he lost everything. And here his family is immoral. I mean, it really is. And so we need to be aware that today we have a climate that’s becoming more and more evil.
And how it can impact our lives and our children’s lives. We have to just really be on top of things. Yeah, I actually went to your website and asked that question. And I know you’re way behind the whole thing. I’m trying to catch up with everything. So I don’t even worry if you remember, I don’t even worry about answering, because that helped me a lot. But just, if I can ask one more question, you’ll get to that.
And I don’t know where I read this, but Ezekiel 16, I think it’s 49 through 50, it says there that the sins of Sodom was, I don’t know, gluttony and something. Why didn’t they just say this? And I’m not arguing this point, I’m just trying to understand this stuff. Why didn’t it just say there were sexual sins, of homosexuality or whatnot? Why didn’t it just say that instead of unfaithfulness or blood in the ear or whatever, the other, I don’t have the Bible in front of me, so I don’t know what it was.
Why didn’t they just pinpoint that kind of stuff? Well, I think it probably was understood, but in addition to that, more of the root problem was the pride and the fullness of bread, the abundance of idleness. They had a lot of spare time. Where they lived was a very rich area where the crops grew so readily. They didn’t have to do much work. They had a lot of spare time on their hand. They say idleness is the devil’s workshop.
We have a lot of spare time and we don’t keep ourselves busy in doing the right kinds of things. We’re going to get ourselves into trouble. That’s what happened here in Solomon. The root problem allowed them to get into that kind of problem was that they didn’t. They were not having to work in sweat all day long and go to work eight to five, but they had all this spare time to lay around and so guess what they did.
Yeah, well that helps me a lot. I appreciate that. I mean I haven’t, I just brought me to a standstill read because I’m trying to read through the Bible in a year and sometimes I’ll get on things like that and it’s like holy keep. That is just so hard to understand, but that helps a lot. Just like a lot with living like that. And then Ezekiel 1650 goes on to say and they were haughty and they committed abomination before me I think the committing abomination is the homosexual acts But but the root problem was that they had a lot of spare time on their hand.
Okay. All right. Thank you so much You’re welcome and that was Carol in St. Petersburg You know we’d even get back to the Bible and in our days in which we’re living right now in our culture The culture roundness is going down down down down down and the Bible tells us not to look for a revival But it says in 2 Timothy chapter 3 that the latter days would be perilous times. And that evil men, verse 13 of 2 Timothy chapter 3 says evil men would grow worse and worse deceiving and being deceived.
So we’re not to expect revival, but we’re to expect a downhill slide. And Jesus said it would become again as it was in the days of Sodom, and we’re seeing that. And we see people today committing the very acts for which God destroyed Sodom way back there in Genesis. And so Jesus certainly was a right on what? I never even knew what homosexuality was when I was a child. And today you can’t get away from it. We’re now going to go to Dale.
And Dale is in Jacksonville, Florida. And Dale, Welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hi, Dr. Lindstrom. Yeah. I was wondering, do you have any information on the Quaker Church? I was wondering if religious society of France Quaker Church is sort of like Christian science or Mormons? I’m not too sure I have to look it back up again. There’s so many things out there and that you can get them all mixed up if you’re not careful. Right. find out for you.
If you have an in and access you can just google the Quaker movement and you’ll find out a lot I’m sure one two three but not too many Quakers around today I don’t think but unless they’re reviving their movement but I think they’re a very small minority but again from what I remember I think that like most they’re adding works the salvation and it’s how they They live their life that is going to determine where they’re going to spend eternity.
And so it’s works oriented in their force false. So you have to just always ask that question. What do you think you have to do to go to heaven? And if it’s other than Jesus alone, it’s a false message. And then of course, can you lose your salvation? And generally all these groups, I think, including the Quakers believe you can lose it. Which means again, it’s by works. right you know why i got a think i got their thing off the uh…
what you think now off the uh… internet and uh… they said that they quickly don’t have any doctor doctor no police they don’t they don’t have any they didn’t say any opinion on how or anything in that week period thing and uh… they said that they believe in the inner light the gods in every every person that’s what the wikipedia thing so i see Well, a lot of people believe that there’s a little spark of goodness in each and every one of us.
And if we just kind of blow on that spark and fan it and get it going and let it get become brighter and better and so on, then eventually you’ll be eligible in your heaven because you have just made that little spark of goodness burn and become a good person. But that’s certainly kinder to the Bible. We’re all born with a wicked sinful nature and unable to save ourselves. That’s why Christ came to be our Savior. And so that would be wrong.
I’ll have to look at it for myself. But if you’re trying to reach any of them, just do it the same way you’d reach anybody else. Tell them, John 3 16, that Christ is a Savior. And who so ever believe it in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. OK. Glad you’re listening up there in Jacksonville Dale. Yeah, I enjoy your program. Well, thanks so very much. Take care. that’s uh… dale jaxville florida we’re going to say p we have mike on the line mike welcome to uh…
bible dr hary got good question about the gap theory that you mentioned yesterday yeah uh… i call the gap fact that’s okay yeah i’m just i’m real curious about that uh… is not isn’t that an attempt to to reconcile evolution and creationism Some people might think that, but it’s been a traditional view down through time. This new view now is this young earth that’s only 6,000 years old. And I really think that this view that we’re espousing here is the one that explains a lot of questions.
It explains why Satan fell, when he fell, why he was in the garden, why he was so highly motivated to cause Adam and Eve to sin and so on and so on. of these theological questions are answered by the fact that he was originally in charge of this planet. Over he ruled over the planet and over all of God’s angels. And then according to Isaiah chapter 14 he led a rebellion from the earth to overthrow heaven. What was he doing here?
He was placed here from the very get-go. Well let me ask you this. In Isaiah 14 is not that, if you read that in context, isn’t that talking about the king of Babylon? It goes beyond the king of Babylon to the man that was empowering him and that was Satan, and then it goes back and rehearses for us Satan’s background, or Lucifer’s background, and his attempted overthrow of heaven where he said in verses 13 and 14, the five eye wills, that he says, I’m going to ascend into heaven.
I’m going to sit upon the mountain of the congregation in the sides of the north. I’m going to go beyond the stars to where heaven itself was, and so on and so on. Apparently he was on the surface of the earth beneath the clouds and he said he’s going to send about the clouds. So we believe this is going beyond that individual Ezekiel 28 the same way. We have the king of Tyre there, but it goes beyond him in Ezekiel 28 to talk about the one that is the anointed cherub Satan that through pride fell, the one that had been in Eden it says, and it can be none other than Satan because we’re only three persons and Eden beside God and that was Adam and Eve and Satan.
Well, I think that getting back to Isaiah chapter 13 and 14, it appears as though that whole context is talking to the king of Babylon. That’s the way it appears to me. And furthermore, how do you line up in Romans? See, correct me if I’m wrong, but the gap theory theorizes that there was a pre-adamic race, both human and non-human. Is that correct? It presupposes that all the angels lived on the earth, there were not any humans on the planet at all until Adam.
Well, see, that’s what, from what I understand, that it was both a human and a non-human and not at all to that’s what I understand anyway in which case we bring up the question is this plant’s animals dinosaurs and Satan and all of God’s angels lived here on the earth and then when they attempted overthrow God God judge the earth and it became void without form and Genesis there uses the word void I can just interject so there’s also the controversy of the word became you know really the controversy of the wording there was and became well it can only be determined by the context and the translators in sixteen eleven translated it was but in most every case it’s translated more often became that is translated was lots why for example turned back in her escape from sodom and became a pillar salt it’s the same verb that’s used in genesis one too
yeah but to say that uh… it was to say that it was became uh… as opposed to was. I get that based on Isaiah 45 18 that says that when God created the earth he did not create it void, a rain. It’s the same word in the Hebrew that’s translated void in Genesis 1 2 is used in Isaiah 45 18 when God speaks of the creation. It tells us that he did not create it vain. He created it inhabited.
So it had to become that way because it was not created void or vain. Isaiah 45 18 is one of those verses that uses that’s sparingly used word created. When God created the earth, it says He created it not in vain or not void. And so obviously it became that way, it wasn’t that way originally. And God doesn’t create things that are imperfect or partially created. He completes them when they create some. And if you believe in evolution and you have to say things that are not all the way there, and then they have to gradually get better and better and better and better.
But God creates everything instantly perfect and that’s the end of the story So let me just say this the form of the verb was in Genesis 1 2 is Cal meaning perfect or third-person singular feminine if you———————————————— a Hebrew concordance Go ahead. If you look in the Hebrew concordance it means perfect third person singular, okay? So it doesn’t appear anyway that was should be translated became. A lot. Some of the newer translations translated became. And they obviously, and all the discussions I’ve read about it, say that it really is determined by the context because it could go either way.
Well, okay, that’s a question and I would have to still. But again, you know, if you… So anyway, what is the point here? What are we trying to say? Well, I’m just having a problem myself with the gap theory, you know, with the pre-demic race. This doesn’t… this won’t affect your salvation at all. No, but you know, it does affect my view of the Bible and how to interpret Scripture. And I’m just having a real problem with it because, you know, even the geological I mean, even evolutionists can’t agree on the geological, the question of the geological ages where the fossils built up over billions and billions of years, you know, their theory is, you know, the geological column that I’m talking about.
I mean, it’s just a theory and it’s all based on Darwinism and the theory of evolution. So I’m having a problem reconciling creation with the gap theory. I mean, you know, to say that there’s a gap between verse one and verse two and Satan fell in there and then taking the great context of that. And I’ll catch you, we’ll catch this after the break here. Dr. Englund, this is Bibleline and we’re talking about Genesis right now at least. Then we’ll be right back up to this break.
Don’t change your dial. I’ll be right back to catch your question after this short break. Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to back to Mike and St. Pete, we were talking about Genesis here. But you know the passage here, Mike and I say 14 is talking about the future, is talking about the Antichrist who is the head of Babylon that will be destroyed over there in Revelation 17 and 18.
And it’s at that time the Antichrist who was indorled by Satan is going to be cast down into the heart of the earth into Hades where he’ll be bound up for a change for a thousand years. Yes. But again, I’m talking about the future. But again, I’m talking about the future. But then it takes a deep look into the past to the origin of this one that in dwells and empowers the Antichrist. And it talks about here an invasion of heaven from the earth.
And I don’t know when else in history we could put that attempted invasion. But that’s just that Satan has always mentioned in future context, never in past context. And again, I know I have to look at that and study that much deeper in terms of what I think. And the other problem I see in terms of when did say he followed that he followed after the seven days of the recreated week or did he fall during those seven days or did he fall before?
Well, that’s a conundrum that is a mystery, you know. Well, I think it’s solved. I think it’s clearly solved that he did it before the recreated week and he was the God of this world and he still has that title. Why did God say everything that he had made was good? It was. In reference to the earth here, but Satan had, Lucifer had already fallen and was still in charge of the planet. And he was very upset with the fact that now somebody was going to take his place, but man was now placed in charge of the planet.
And so he wanted to cause Adam to fall under his curse. And so he was very highly motivated there in the garden to cause Adam and Eve to fall. he was successful well in his day of fourteen i think that it is again specifically mentioning the king of babylon i don’t see where you can take that step further and say that that is fatten well it isn’t is the enterprise but the one who involves him that is clearly is clearly is clearly this is for a king of babylon and lucifer here notice is is cast down into the heart of the earth and there all of his uh…
in that context lucifer is the king of battle on those it not but it means morning star exactly of course in the future uh… and when i believe we’re almost there i think he might be uh… walking around right now the antichrist is probably alive at this moment and uh… lucifer uh… will indwell him and be this one here that uh… christ will defeat at his return that i don’t doubt i don’t doubt that i’m talking specifically about chapter fourteen and i I am doing it the way that I read it anyway is that this is specifically talking about the king of Babylon It’s talking about him and it says in verse 9 that how the chief ones that are down in the heart of the earth and Hades that are the lost are stirred up to meet him when he’s cast down there with him at the end of the tribulation period at the
Second Coming of Christ. and then it goes on as they mock him and say how can this have happened to you lucifer because lucifer is the one who is behind this whole evil man here and then these in the heart of the earth are mocking are mocking lucifer was cast into the heart of the earth well i i i i i i don’t know that lucifer again you keep stating that lucifer is the one that’s behind him that’s kind of you know with all due respect i i kind of see that as reading a description what i’ll do respect because again if you just take it and within its context uh…
i’d say a thirteen and fourteen you read both chapters uh… it appears anyway that this is specifically i’d a the profits speaking to uh… the king of babylon and so you know to say that’s a problem between our are you thinking in the past to ancient babylon if you are the new totally missing the picture of this chapter because this chapter talking future and it talks about the one here that ruled the nations and how that he is now broken by Christ who comes back in number seven the whole earth is at rest and is quiet and breaks forth into singing which is the millennium when Christ sets up his rule on this earth and Lucifer then will be in Hades in the heart of the earth and all the previous kings that have ever lived who were unsaved who admired and followed his direction as the
God of this world are going to now say, are you become as weak as we? What in the world happened to you? And they mock Satan or this? They’re mocking a Babylon. They’re mocking this one who apparently went beyond a particular person who lived in a particular period of time because all the previous great kings of the earth are going to mock him. Well, maybe that’s something that I need to. Yeah, let’s look at it again and then we’ll get back together on it.
Thanks a lot for your call Mike. That was Mike in St. Petersburg and this is an incredible chapter in chapter 14 of Isaiah. We talked about the future of Christ coming back and defeating the Antichrist and this man who ruled the nations in anger and he’s now going to be persecuted in the heart of the earth and the previous world powers and kings that lived. He is really the unseen ruler of successive world powers of Tyre, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, all of these had Satan’s influence in their leaders and these leaders are going to say, Whoa, what happened to you guy?
Here the one they had respected and might have followed is now the one worst punished and will eventually be worst punished in hell forever and ever. This is Bible on I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and the phone number is 1-800-576-3771 and we’d love to hear from you. We’ll try to get up the next color as quickly as we can, and we want you to be praying with us. We’re going to be taking a look at expanding this program beyond Tampa to other markets, or maybe even nationwide.
We ask you to pray with us that we might be able to pull that off, and of course we can’t pull it off. We know the Lord can open a door that no man can shut, and he can shut a door that no man can open. And so we are trusting if it is God’s will that we go further than right here. And a lot of our listeners have said this program needs to be heard everywhere. And if you agree with that, pray with us.
Will you have to be able to move it forward? But we need your prayers. We need your support. We need your backing to be able to move forward with the Bible and program. And hopefully it challenges you to get into the Bible and look at it a little more carefully and to check out what you believe against the scriptures. And right now we have a caller off the air, his name is Bob from Clearwater, and he is talking about somebody recommending the companion Bible.
And I really don’t know Bob much about the companion Bible. I haven’t taken time to study that. You know, there are so many new Bibles out there that in the catalogs for Bibles, there’s Bibles for singles, there’s There’s Bibles for women, there’s Bibles for men, there’s Bibles for Afro-Americans, there’s Bibles for senior citizens, there’s Bibles for, I mean, and then you have all the different translations that are out there. You know, it’s just unbelievable. But I tell you what, Bob, I’ll try to take a look.
I think I probably have it on my shelf someplace. I’ll take a few minutes as I get a few minutes to take a look at it and I’ll try to give you an opinion, give me a call in about a week or two and I’ll try to maybe have an answer for you. I’ll make a note to look at that. Now we have Joe in Brandon and Joe is live and welcome to Bibleline. I just wanted to if you could discuss a little bit in depth the election and predestination stands.
All right. Every, well God in His sovereignty before the foundation of the earth elected to save all that we believe on Christ. and he elected not to save those that would reject Christ. And so you see that throughout the Scriptures. It says in Ephesians 1-4, which throws a lot of people off, it says according as theeth chosen us in Him before the foundations of the earth. And some people say, well, see, we don’t have a choice at all. He elected us.
He chose us in Him before the foundation of the earth. But what they neglect there is the phrase in Him. God chose that everybody that was in Christ would be saved, and the Bible says in Philippians 3-9, which I quoted earlier today, be found in Him by faith. So our choice is to be found in Christ, and if we’re in Christ, then we are chosen, obviously, to go to heaven. It’s like this. Let’s say there’s a plane departing from Tampa International Airport this afternoon for Chicago.
The airline has already predetermined that that flight, whatever it is, 1012, is going to depart Tampa, let’s say at 3.30 this afternoon nonstop for Chicago. So that’s been predetermined before the plane ever takes off the ground. But you and I have a choice whether we want to go over to the airport and buy a ticket and get on that plane. And if we’re in that plane, then it’s been predetermined that we’re going to want to be in Chicago because that’s where that flight is going.
Basically, God chose flight Jesus to go to heaven. Everybody that’s in flight, Jesus will go to heaven. And you have a choice to be on that flight. And so if you trust Jesus as your savior, the Bible says in Philippians 3.9, you’re found in Christ, and everybody in Christ goes to heaven, so it’s been predetermined that everybody in Christ goes to heaven. And so if you’re on flight, Jesus, you’re gonna make heaven. I hope that makes a little sense out of it, but basically God chose that everybody in Jesus, everybody this trusted Christ to go to heaven.
And so if you make the choice to trust Christ and are then placed into Christ and are seen in Christ by faith, Philippians 3 and 9, you’re going to wind up in heaven. And would you say that is the election stance or if that was? That’s what I believe the Bible teaches. Oh, OK. Yeah, the God elects to save those that believe. And D.L. Moody said it this way. He said, the whosoever wills are the elect and the whosoever won’t sow the none elect.
about as simple as you’ll ever get it. So God elected the same believers and He elected not to save unbelievers. Clear things up for me. Thank you very much doctor. Alright and you really won’t find a verse to contradict that and if you have if you think you got one bring it up on the show we’ll talk about it. This is a Bibleline of Dr. Hank Lindstrom and we’re coming to you live from our studios at Calvary Community Church in Tampa and tomorrow night our television program Bibleline is on at 7 p.m.
prime time on the Christian television network. Channel 22 if you have an antenna but it’s Channel 3 in Hillsborough, Channel 2 in Pinellas and we’re seeing all the way up and down the coast here from Fort Mares to Crystal River to Orlando. We’re on the edition network the Sky Angel and people calls from all over the country to catch our Bible on TV show on Thursday nights on the Sky Angel. So we get calls from Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, all around out west in California.
And we get calls from up and down the East Coast as well in the mid section of our country, Tennessee. We’ve had quite a number of callers from Tennessee catching us on the Sky Angel. So be aware of our TV program tomorrow night and tune it in at seven o’clock PM and tell your friends about it. And then of course this Sunday we’re having a dinner. We’d love to have you dropped by until our 1030s worship service. If you don’t have a church home and you would like to come visit us, it would be good Sunday to do it.
And so Sunday, think about it. Come on by it, 1030. And join us for morning worship, bring your family, your appetite, your Bible, be my guest. And join us for dinner afterward. And again, pray for our Bible and program that we could see the Lord open a door greater than we have to reach out with the gospel of Jesus Christ to a world that so desperately needs to hear. we’re going to say please bring me an ad on the line here and welcome to bible how do you do sir i hope i don’t get you trouble on the treatment of all right we’ll go ahead for okay and the problem with the treatment of their you know i you know just like you i believe the whole bible every word to proceed without a mouth of god and uh…
i understand that we need to fear god we need to teach it to our children and we don’t hear that anymore and they realize god not his name you could have a rat god a cat god a dog god is named john way johoga and his own name is Yeshua. And then I also realized that God says, I chose you, you didn’t chose me. I hope I’m in agreement with you. Well, I believe these talking there in John 1516 about service that if you’re a believer then he says you’ve not chosen me but I’ve chosen you and ordained you that you should go forth and bring forth fruit.
Amen. So as believers, yes, we’re everybody was chosen to go out and proclaim Christ. Now here’s the deal. Okay. I understand love in the Bible and we have to understand a God the love. There’s all different kind of love and I think that basically in our country, I’m just saying that to my opinion that we use the word instead of love we spell it L.U.S.T. And, you know, God says if you love me, keep my commandments. And we don’t talk about the fear guide anymore.
We don’t talk about we are saved from His wrath, you know, in judgment day because of our rebellion. Do you agree with that? I agree. We’re all sinners headed for help. And unless we have a Savior and we do in Christ, we would all go to help. Now here’s the deal. When we speak about love, God says, he sent his only son to die in the cross for us. And that was his love. He loved his son so much that he had him put the shame, he had him ridiculed, he had him spin on, he had him pull his beard out, they had him beat him with a whip and whip that piece of the metal so tore part of the skin of the way.
You know, it’s just all kind of horrible things, anything, and naked on the cross and he’s suffering and so forth. And this is the kind of love God’s talking about. You know, we think of the love, there’s all everything sweet and wonderful and goody, goody for the rest of our lives, you know. And that’s not the same kind of love God’s speaking about. Well, obviously, there’s nobody who’s ever loved us more greatly than he because he was willing to go through all that for you and me and willing to suffer the cross, endure the shame because he loved us and was willing to give his life so that we could be saved.
I’m in agreement with you. Okay. Now, there’s one other thing that I hope you’ll be in agreement with this because I don’t quite understand that no one can understand God. We read His word and unless He opens our eyes and our ears and our understanding, we’re very confused. And as a three minister, I get to pray for people and if they have like pain in their body, anywhere, I meet them all over, you know, any place you name it.
And they really believe that. And we pray and I tell them before I pray for them, you know, I’m the one who thank you, okay, this is just my feelings, what I understand. I tell them, you know, I’m a three minister and you can flush me down the toilet anytime you want to because that’s how important I am. But I’ll tell you what, God’s the one that’s going to heal you. When you get healed, you know it’s God that heals you in almost every time, thousands of times, thousands of times, they get healed immediately from the pain in their body and are hurt.
Can you accept that? I believe God can and does heal today, but certainly the major thing we need to be healed from is the penalty for sin which is held. Yes. Need to receive Jesus as Savior. But you see, that’s how God gets their attention. they’re not really you know digging into the word or really thanking them for everything and you know we say you know god tell us that thanking for everything whether it’s good or bad because if it’s bad then we think when it’s bad we can find out that god turns it to good and uh…
and so you know a lot of times people put me down when i talk about this but you know because they say that’s not important to healing but it’s important to that person that has pain in our body of course you know i i really love your program and i’m going to make sure i get over to see you do you have any services besides funding because I work fundies yeah Wednesday night and you’re there all these times you’d be welcome to come in I’m always here okay and Wednesday from 6 30 to 8 a Wednesday night yeah okay and I’m getting the information in the mail with a map and everything wonderful I just I just want to honor you and thank you because you really stick to the word of God and that’s what it’s all about thank Thank you Ed.
Right sir. God bless you. All right. And we thank you for calling and being a part of our show. We talked earlier today about the inviting people or rather an invitation that people use to say that you’re to invite Jesus into your heart or into your life and how that’s just not really biblical at all. To be saved you have to trust Christ. The word believe, which occurs over a hundred times in the gospel of John, comes from a Greek word that is best expressed in English as trust.
And when you trust that Christ died for you, when you trust that He paid your sin debt in full, the cross was buried in rose again from the dead, God saves you. in as a consequence. Christ does come into drawing your body, but you don’t turn it around and say, Christ come into my body and he won’t do it. You can plead with God to save you and to come into your body, but unless you trust Christ that he died for you.
It was buried in Rosalie Infinite that he will not come in. So we’re really asking for a consequence and the mechanism that brings about that consequence is belief. on the Lord Jesus Christ and also be saved when you trust him as your Savior. God gives you the gift of eternal life and I know what it’s like because I for 12 years asked Jesus into my heart and he never came in. I trusted Christ finally later when I heard the gospel and I received the gift of eternal life and then Christ of course did come in and into all my life but it wasn’t because I asked him to come in it was because I trusted that he died for me and the consequence is that I’m placed into the body of Christ and also he He comes and dwells in my body.
I hope I’ve made sense with that because we need to be clear when we witness to people or they wind up being mixed up as I was as a young boy raised in church, confirmed, baptized, homogenized, pasteurized, capsized, silent as the whole treatment, but never really understood what was going on or understood the final salvation and I wasn’t saved during all those years. We’re going to go to Paul Meadow and oh it’s off the air here, we have Patty calling from down there.
Cain and Abel get their wives and the answer is they had to have married their sisters. In Genesis chapter 5 it says that Adam and Eve in verse 4 and 5 begat sons and daughters. And because Adam and Eve were perfectly created they didn’t have a problem with inner marriage and of course that’s the way it would just have to be. If you start off with two human beings you have to have inner marriage at the beginning. But because of sin, later it became a problem and birth defects obviously are a consequence of marrying close relations.
And Moses warned from Mount Sinai, and God did through Moses, gave him the law that you were going to marry cousins or sisters or brothers. Incest was forbidden. But today the human race has gone so much further downhill that you don’t have to marry a person that’s even closely related to you at all. And the potential for a birth defect is more and more potentially there because of the sin of the human race. I believe in those early days when Adam and Eve had children, they were probably just absolutely perfectly healthy.
And obviously they lived very long lives. Look at Methuselah, living 916. That guy had to be a healthy guy. I went to hell if he got sick. Probably never did. But Methuselah of 969 years. Can you imagine? They didn’t have hospitals. They didn’t have penicillin and all the modern drugs. But they lived long lines. I think that they were perfect from the get-go Adam and Eve. And it took a while before sin brought about the problems of in a marriage.
And that’s when God warned about it. So, Patty, I hope that helps you. Cain and Abel both married, of course, I don’t know about able if he got married at all because he was slain, but we’ll assume that he got married before he was killed and that their wives would have been their sisters. Alright, this is Bible and the phone number is 1-800-576-3771 and again that number is 1-800-576-3771. Have you read the Bible lately? You know, a lot of people are caught up today in reading books about the Bible and they don’t read their Bible.
And if you don’t read the Bible, you’re really not allowing God to speak to you because He speaks to us through the Word of God. And so if your zipper on your Bible is zipped up, you’re really saying to God, I don’t want to hear from you. I don’t want to have you talk to me. But as we get into the Bible, the Word of God, God then can speak to you and me. So it’s very important. In fact, it tells us in Matthew 4, 4, Jesus said, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
We need to hunger and thirst after this book so that we might know what God has to say to us and how that we might be able to share that wonderful news that we have with others and so that they might also come to know what we have in Christ. Let me give you a great verse. I call it the written guarantee verse. It’s 1 John 5, 13 and it says, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know, not hope, not guess, not perhaps not maybe, but that you may KNOW, that you may know that you have, HAVE, present tense, everlasting life.
No, wonderful. God has put it in writing. He’s given us a written guarantee. He says these things have I written unto you that believe trust on the Lord Jesus Christ. If you trust Him as your Savior, it says this verse is written to you so that you may know KNOW that you have H-A-V-E present tense everlasting life. I know right now I have eternal life. I know whenever I die, I’ll go to heaven. And I always love to look at that verse and be reminded that God says, look, I’ve written this to you because you believe.
and I’ve written this to you so that you may know that you have. Doesn’t say perhaps or maybe I think so, or I want to, or I’m working at it, but it says I’ve written this to you so that you may know that you have everlasting life. That’s got to be the best news you ever going to hear. And so that is the verse that you ought to maybe write down and memorize. First John 513, what I call as the written, guaranteed verse, a no-so-verse, and I love the no-so verses in the Bible because God says I’ve written this to you so you can know so.
I know a heavy turn life and if you’re genuinely saved you ought to be able to say I know a heavy turn life and because you have it right now and as eternal you’ll have it tomorrow next week next year ten years from now a hundred years from now a million years from now it’s eternal. So if it’s eternal life you have you’ll still have it tomorrow next week, next year and so on. Now if it’s only temporary life that you have, then you wouldn’t have it.
Or if it’s life until you break a commandment or life until you sin again. But that isn’t what God called it. God calls it throughout the Bible everlasting life, eternal life. And the moment you believe on Christ, you receive that eternal life. I’m Dr. Anglyn Striman, this has been Bible and again we thank you for tuning into the Bible and program every day. Tell your friends about it and have them tune in. I’m Dr. We have to run. Call the number 1-800-576-3771 after the program and we’ll be around till about 3.

Hello, I’m Dr. Englundsroom. We’ve had a great day today with you celebrating this week being Crucifixion Week and this Sunday resurrection Sunday. And of course today is Wednesday and it’s the day we believe Christ was crucified during the Crucifixion Week 2000 years ago. Wow, what a special day as we think about what Christ did for you and for me. We weren’t deserving. There was nothing lovely or deserving about us. And yet God loved us so much that He left heaven, came to the earth, took on human flesh, went across the Calvary and died for you and me.
Thank God, grave could not contain him. He was able to overcome death and the grave and came back from the dead. And we believe that happened at Saturday 6 p.m. As a result, we’re going to have a sundown service. And we believe that’s because that’s when he really did rise, not in the morning. But we’ll be celebrating next Sunday as Resurrection Sunday and celebrating the Resurrection of Christ again from the dead. It’s exciting what a special week it is and I hope you’re using the R word this week when you talk to people don’t use that E word but say to people happy resurrection call this coming Sunday resurrection Sunday call the candy given out resurrection candy call the dresses that the ladies might wear a resurrection dresses and the special music resurrection music and and just edit that little word out and get rid of
E and substitute it with the word R and you’ll I think you’ll feel better about yourself and this will be a special extra special week as a result. In any case, call us. We have a resource center. We’ll send you a free resource sheet or you can shop online at BibleLineMinistries.org. Go to the online bookstore. Also, we have some specials. We have those commentaries that I love. The Jameson Foset Brown gift of $100 and also the Jay of the McGee commentary, a gift of 101 of them.
The McGee covers every chapter of the Bible. The other one covers every verse of the Bible between the two. You’ve really got some great coverage. Those are the ones I recommend above all else.
