We appreciate you and we wanna welcome you and all of our listeners to the Bibleline program today.

And we’re coming to you from our studios right here at Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. We’re located just a block west, one block west of Tampa’s National Airport. And we’re just four tenths of a mile south of Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa. And so we’re easy to find. And if you can find the airport, you ought to be able to find us. If you get more than a block from the airport, you can know that you’ve made a mistake somehow.

And you’re headed away from the church because we’re located just the block west of the Tampa International Airport at 4811, George Road, which George Road, by the way, runs north and south in parallels, the road that borders the airport on the west. And so we’re very close to the airport. Sometimes when those planes are coming in and out, I feel like I could just reach up and slap them. They’re that close. So come by and see us. If you ever get close to the airport, take that extra minute to pull over to Calvary Community Church and knock on the door and say hello and meet our Bible and staff.

I’d like to get to meet you and we’d love to have you see our resource center and you’ll Well, I get acquainted that would be great and you come by every day We’re open till about three in the afternoon and by the way this Sunday If you’d like to come by for a worship service, we worship at 1030 in the morning and just be my guest. Bring your Bible and your family and just come for the 1030 service and join us this Sunday.

We have about 40 of these courses that we have reported and are available to you on CD. Some of the later ones now more recently have been videotaped and they’re also available on DVD and you can use them for your personal study, but also a lot of people use them to facilitate a Sunday school class, a home Bible study, or other teaching events where they play a portion of my CD, have group discussion, and we’ve heard from people all around the country that have used the CDs in that way as a teaching facilitator on any particular topic.

We have CD sets on the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel and Jude Revelation. I said Revelation but Hebrews and Romans is one of my favorites and we cover verse by verse the wonderful teachings in these books. You might want to order those and you can do it on the Internet. If you go to my online bookstore on BibleLineMinistries.org or .com you can go to the online bookstore and see all of these things. you can call if you don’t have internet and we’ll send a resource sheet to you or you can just talk to our operators about what you might be interested in and we can help suggest some of the teachings and also of course the books and Bibles we have.

We have the Schofield Bible here, the old Schofield which is the one that is obviously the one I recommend that has the great notes on doctrine that will really help you and you can order that on the phone. We have everything from soft back to hard back to leather and to large print. So I recommend highly if you don’t have a good study reference Bible, the old Scofield. The Bible is a reference Bible. By the way, you might want to get the classes on the Rapture, or on the book of Revelation, or on the Holy Spirit.

And so there will be 12 hours of teaching on CD, and you can call the number. After the program, our call-in number, and we can tell you about that, and you’ll be able to study at home. I think it’ll be great. And so try that. Our 800 number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We had George call in just before the program, and he called in a question, I’ll take it right now. He asked salvation. How is it attained and how does this bridge over to being in the rapture?

Good question, George. The answer is that when you believe on Christ that he died for your sins was buried in rose again from dead Not only are you saved, but if you’re living when the rapture occurs Which is a real possibility of being very very close and all of us that are listening to the program right now could Probably say if I just stay healthy for a little while longer will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air Maybe he will come this year, you know, I don’t have a date handy here, but I do believe that we’re really rapidly seeing prophecies fulfilled every day in the news and we’re getting close.

We’re getting close. Well, they just had a 5.3 on the Richter scale earthquake in Israel and somebody said, is this the footsteps of Jesus? You know, when he comes back, he’s going to shake up this world. The Bible says there’s going to be a whole lot of shaking going on. And apparently right at the beginning maybe it’ll be an earthquake that will shake the temple mount and bring down those two mosques so that the third temple can be rebuilt.

We just reported on the program here just a couple of weeks ago they did a geological survey in Israel and they said the most vulnerable spot in all of Israel to earthquake activity is the temple mount. Well guess what? It could be. And two weeks ago, I think a very small earthquake in the Dead Sea area, this one was 5.3 and could be felt all the way from the Negev all the way up through Galilee. And no deaths and no major damage.

But if it gets a little bit stronger, maybe these are signs. This is the largest earthquake they’ve had in Israel in 25 years. So obviously we are maybe seeing the beginnings of things because there are earthquakes and diverse places just like Jesus said and maybe this will happen. In any case, George, if you’re still listening, if you are a believer, if you’re living when the Lord comes back, then you will be raptured. Let me give you the words of Jesus and you might want to write this down.

In John 11, 25, Jesus speaks about those who have already died. He says, I am the resurrection and the life. He the believer than me, though he were dead yet shall he live. And most people will be in that category. But then in verse 26 are you ready to write it down, George? It says in verse 26, and he that liveth and believeth in me shall never die. It’s referring to those that are living when he comes back that have believed on Christ as Savior and they’re going to be transformed into their new bodies on the way up and raptured up to meet the Lord.

So that’s exciting stuff. And so the answer is you trust Christ as Savior and you’re saved in your eternal life. And all the saved will be raptured out before the tribulation period and escape the darkest hours that will ever be experienced on the planet Earth. I’m glad I’m leaving. I’m glad I’m leaving, that’s for sure. And I hope that you’re glad that you’re leaving as well. We’re watching the signs and truly maybe the footsteps of the Messiah are being heard heard throughout the world as he captures our attention.

We’re living no doubt in the last days. We’re praying that God will expand our ministry. I know one everybody already ought is to be praying for this because God could say no. God could say wait. This might be the beginning of a number of hurdles to get our program out to the nation, but we’re praying that God will expand our ministry and that many, many more might be able to catch this program and get questions answered and learn clearly what the gospel is and what it is not so that they can You know, make sure that they have really truly understood salvation and had the assurance that God wants for all of us as believers to have.

I have full assurance. I know I’m saved. I know I have eternal life. And it’s because I’ve trusted Christ as my Savior. And the Bible tells me so. That’s how I know it’s so. And I believe God’s Word is true so we can take God at His Word and be absolutely assured of salvation. A lot of people don’t have assurance and you know if you’re not assured of your salvation I don’t believe you’re going to be a very effective Christian because what do you have to say to someone that’s lost?

You really don’t have much to say it all do you? You wouldn’t want to go up to somebody who’s lost and say hey how would you like to be as confused as I am? absolutely a nail biter here, worried about my future, I have very little assurance that I’m going to wind up in heaven. Well, you would have no message for anybody else if that would be the case. Well, the Bible talks about full assurance. And the moment you trust Christ, you can be fully assured that you’re saved, that you’re on your way to heaven, and that you’re going to be with the Lord.

Isn’t that great news? We have done in Treasure Island, waiting. Welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Pastor. How are you good? I I was listening to you Your broadcast yesterday as I do every day and you gave an explanation on that difficult Hebrews 63 4 and 5 and I recall last year and I’m confused because last year I called and I asked you to help me out with that and you did and I took notes and I even underlined the word partakers which is from the Greek Matachos, which means associated with or going along with, correct?

Well, actually that word is used in other places and is linked to people that are actually saved. And so it means basically that you are saved once you’ve trusted Christ, you are a partaker of the Holy Spirit and you therefore are saved because you just, you know, it says the same word I believe is used of Christ that He partook of our sin by His death at the cross of Calvary. So it wasn’t something that, where you kind of like touched death, but He obviously experienced it fully.

And so I believe that we become partakers at the moment we believe in the verse before talks about tasting of the heavenly gift. And the word taste is used earlier in Hebrews here where it says Christ tasted death for every man. So I think it’s obviously a pretty strong word. So the point is here, it’s really talking to Christians and especially Hebrew believers who are used to that yearly sacrifice and thinking if they had gotten away from the Lord that they had to go back and become saved again.

This verse is saying if you get away from the Lord you don’t need to become saved again. That’s impossible but you need to get serving the Lord again. I like your understanding now but last you got it wrong. I rode down going along with so that they were unsaved. No these are saved people and I like in this whole situation like let’s just I like sports and let’s just say you’re a player on the team. And if you fall down, that doesn’t mean you’re no longer a Buccaneers football player.

But a good player will get up several times on the same play. You get knocked down, get back up, knocked down, get back up, and he might still make the tackle. And that’s the mark of a good player. So when we get knocked down or we fall down, we need to get back up. We don’t need to go back and say, hey, I need to negotiate a new contract with a Buccaneers now to be a player, you don’t lose your position on the team because you fell down.

But you do miss the play if you don’t get back up and get back into the play. So God wants us to be players and to be successful as Christians and living the Christian life. And so if we fall down, we don’t go back and say, Lord, I guess I have to get saved again. We don’t have to do that. We have to get serving again. Well, I sure understand it now. Do we have time for one more quarter?

Okay, last week you had a Muslim caller at the last caller of the day. I forget what it was, but you seem to be very sincere and knowledgeable about the do’s and don’ts of the Quran. Now I’m often many times a week with the groups of men that I have never seen before and most of whom I will never see again or if I do it will be for a short period of time, maybe weeks, maybe months. This group might be between 5 and 65 men.

I never know how many men are going to be there. Now, occasionally, 90 over 90% of these guys will be very supportive. They’ll either be church members or they will be born again believers. But occasionally there will be someone in that group who is not a Christian, not a church member, will be of either a cult or another religion. And I can tell by the question they might ask or a comment they might make, and sometimes just by the expression on their face and the attitude.

Now when I get someone like that, I have been as tactfully as I know how, been changing the Bible study from whatever we’re doing, whether it be baptism or once saved, always saved, or whatever it is, much of which comes from your material, by the way, in any event. As tactfully as I can, I try to shift the Bible study to how do you know that you follow the one, the only, the true God? Do you have proof? My question to you is, I’m asking for your opinion because I value it, would you do it that way or do you suggest another way of doing that?

What I’m trying to get at is if I know that I have an unbeliever, and I’m not sure what religion he’s from, but I’m pretty sure that he’s from a cult or another religion, I would like to get right to the heart of the matter and that is the resurrection. So I switched the Bible study to how do we know for sure that we follow the one and the only true God one earth. So many prophets and so many leaders of other religions that say follow them, they’re the way and then they die and stay dead.

Amen. Do you agree with that? I would agree with you. Yeah, that’s what I do. If I know somebody who doesn’t saved in my audience, I’ll make sure that in that presentation that they will hear how they might enter heaven and how that Christ is, as he said, I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life, and no man can come to the Father but by me. Okay. So there’s only one way to heaven and that’s Jesus and they need to hear that.

I thought you might suggest that I go through God’s plan of salvation from the beginning to the end because this is the way that we’re normally led to lead someone to the Lord. But when I see someone with hostile attitude, I think that we need, in my opinion, go to the proof that Jesus Christ is the only way because of his resurrection. Right, and Mohammed is still dead and Fuchsia is still dead and Buddha is still dead and the only one who’s ever come back from the dead is Christ.

And when I ask the question, how do you know you have proof nine times out of ten, someone raised their hand and will say through faith. And of course that if you could opt to say no no no If you think that certain people don’t have faith that fly airplanes into buildings or tie bombs around their bellies and blow people up They’ve got faith, but not in the right thing or the right person. That’s right My question then is you for your opinion is this You suggest a better way you’re on the right track and and yeah, I find that you can present the gospel in a very quick concise form too.

We have seven steps we recommend. If you get our book on evangelism it really tells you how to present that. What’s the name of the book? It’s called Handbook on Personal Evangelism and we have it for gift of $10 to Bible and it is marvelous because it really tells you how you can organize this and present it. I can present seven doctrines in about 60 seconds that summarize the whole the whole plan of salvation. And we recommend these seven.

The first one is that we’re all sinners. And obviously I think most people admit to that. Romans 3, 23, all of sin comes short of glory of God. Number two, that the payment for our sin, if we paid for it, would be death, which would ultimately mean hell. And our good works and our deeds would not pay for sin, the only pay is death. Romans 6, 23, it says the wages of sin is death. The next point being that we have to be perfect dinner heaven and we’re not.

None of us are. Revelation 21, 27 says that one lie would be enough to keep us out of heaven. And when I heard that, I panicked and that’s how I really got saved because I really saw myself in deep trouble when I saw that one lie would keep me out of heaven. Because I thought, well, I’m as good as anybody, but when I heard that I had to be as righteous as God and one lie would keep me out of heaven, that knocked me out of the saddle.

But then the fourth point would be that our good works would not pay for that sin, feed us to eight and nine, not of works, it’s the gift of God. The fifth point is that Jesus became the substitute for our sin as he died in our place so that we might be given his righteousness. And so Christ is a substitutionary sacrifice that God had said would come through the prophets. And then number six is that if we believe the only condition for meeting salvation’s requirements is to trust that Christ fully paid our sin debt at the cross.

He was buried and rose again from the dead. When we trust him, we become saved. And the seventh point is that from that point on you can be assured of going to heaven because eternal life is eternal and you’re saved forever once you trust Christ. And I don’t know, I might have taken a little bit more than 60 seconds to do that today, but you know you can really cover the essential points of what a lost person must do to be saved and the reason why they need to trust Christ in less than two minutes.

And those are really could be considered seven different points of I just covered it and there’s seven points. And if I went up to somebody and said, look, I’m going to cover seven points of doctrine. They’d probably look at their watch and say, I can go. But you can do it quickly and not even let them know they’re getting seven points of doctrine. And I’ve seen people get saved real quickly when they understand what the Bible says about our condition and how that we need a Savior.

And that Christ is that Savior. And when we trust Him, He saves us. After we’ve gone through the proof that Jesus is To God, you know, I mean obviously if they’re believing in another God They need to recognize that their God is false and then that what you’re doing is absolutely right on target for somebody of a cult Because the Jesus of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is not the Jesus of the Bible And and so on and of course the God of Islam or Buddhism or Confucianism is not the God of the Bible either and I can use the word proof.

Can I not absolutely you can’t? sure okay great okay well i’ll be calling and i’m leaving here back to the north before a number of your thing is the book on the follow through them and the personal evangelism now and uh… some of your free ticket by the way you you you know what i thought that free ticket but that thing is terrific great uh… i want to get a few hundred of those all right i’ll be writing a letter with a check in a few weeks all right thank you don’t think for your help you’re very welcome that was done in treasure island and uh…

wow trying to get that word out and uh… we need that lots of voices like Don’s to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in this world. This is by the line of Dr. Englund’s room and I hope if you don’t have a place to worship this Sunday that you’d come by and see us, we worship at 1030 and we’d love to have you come and stay for the worship service. It’s a great Sunday to come visit. If you don’t have a church home, I don’t want to yank you out of your church.

If you have a good church, you’re attending, God bless you. But if you are looking for a place or you just want to come and visit sometime, this would be a good Sunday. This Sunday we will worship at 10 30 in the morning. You’re welcome to be my guest for that. We’re going to go to St. Petersburg and we have Joyce on the line. Joyce, welcome to Bible Line. Hey Hank. Good morning. I listen to you every day. Great.

You are the best as far as our hope. The hope of you is the best thing we have. You know, that’s all we have. That’s all we have. Yes. That’s right. I mean, we can, as a believer, know that our future is settled, that we have a home waiting for us to heaven. We know where we’re going. It’s so excellent. The one thing I want to ask you though, or talk to you about, is the fact that I believe that Jesus Christ was not God, but the Son of God.

And the reason why I tell you this is I have a son that’s in trouble and I understand about sons that are in trouble. And God gave something of himself that he loved so much of himself and he hurt over it. And Jesus Christ was God’s son. even in the scripture it says, I am not all that. Talk to God. God is a great one. Even in the scriptures it says that. Let me clarify some things for you. Jesus Christ is God and at the same time He is a man.

As a man, He experienced everything that we do emotionally except He did not sin. But He obviously got tired, he got hungry, he slept and so on. But as God, he could raise the dead, he could walk on the water, he could forgive sin and so on and so on. What was that given to him from his father? Yeah, but when it says in John 3 16, for God’s love the world, that he gave his only begotten son, there it’s referring to the flesh, that God was the father of one human being, that He was the one that impregnated the egg in Mary that created a flesh that Jesus…

But he partook a flesh. Right, but he is done. And the phrase… Christ gave his son. You know God gave his only begotten son. I don’t know if you have a son or not but I have one. Well I love my son tremendously. I understand. And I understand that if I would sacrifice him for the world. It would be and if God and all you saying there in that regard is true. I mean, you’re absolutely right on target except that the phrase son of God in the scriptures actually means that he is God.

He’s also called I think we might have some kind of little cross-reference because I love everything you’re saying is so good. Let me finish this and see if it doesn’t make sense. Christ is called the Son of God. He’s also called the Son of Man. And the phrase, Son of from the Hebrew, means to have the same nature, to have the same being, to be essentially the same as. And so as the son of man, he was truly fully a man.

And as the son of God, he was fully and completely God. And he’s both. James and John, for example, were called the sons of thunder. It didn’t mean that their daddy’s name was Mr. Thunder. Their daddy’s name was Zebedee. But they had a character, a nature like thunder. Apparently they were quick tempered, hot tempered guys. Yeah. And so that’s how it’s used. We’ll pick it up after this break. after you’re going to break up Dr. Englinstrem, this is Bibleline, and we’ll be right back, so don’t go away, keep your radio down tuned right here to Bibleline, and I’ll be right back to answer your question in just a moment.

The Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I usually went to a computer program that gave it to me where I could see it in larger print. But you know, it’s now in a book form and it’s just a little bit more.

We have the old Strong’s Incordance for a gift of 30. It retails for much more than that. And then we have now the large print Strong’s Incordance for a gift of $40, just $10 more. Give us a call here at 1-800-576-3771. We’re about ready to do a second half hour of Bibleline and I hope you’ll keep your radio tuned right where it is and we’ll do the second half hour and so stay tuned here we go Bibleline the second half hour.

Alright, we’re back when I break this is Bibleline and I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and we’re coming to you from our studios right here at Calvary Community Church in Tampa right next to the airport. So easy to find. find that we invite you to come by anytime you’re near in the area and knock on that door of ours and say hello and we hope that you will and we’re open every day up till about three in the afternoon you’re welcome to the drop by and say hi and so anytime you’re nearby please do stop in we’re trying to bring our program out to the nation so pray with us that God will bless it and pray that

that he will open a door that no man can shut. And Jesus, of course, is the key of David. He is the one who can do that. And we trust that maybe God will open a great door this coming week. So continue to pray for the door to open, as this might be our first knock on the door. So let’s see what happens and pray that God will bless and take it up from there. We’re on the air with Joyce, And we’re talking about the deity of Christ.

He is God. And the phrase, son of, means exactly that. When Jesus used that phrase, the high priest ripped his clothing and cried out that this was blasphemous, that he said that. Because they recognized that that meant that he was God. At the same time, he’s called the son of man, which means he was fully a man. So he’s both. And it was the man, Jesus, that died on the cross of Calvary. You’ll notice when you read about the crucifixion, for example, in Hebrews chapter 10, when it talks about the death, God didn’t die on the cross, but the flesh that God took upon himself died, and the man, Jesus, died to pay for our sins.

It says, in Hebrews chapter 10 and verse 10, and by the which will we are made pure and holy through the offering of the body of the body of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Then it says in verse 12, this man after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever set down. So here the focus is on the manhood of Christ. Yet earlier in the book of Hebrews, it tells us that Jesus is called God. It says God the Father speaks to God the Son.

And in Hebrews 180 says, under the Son, he saith, thy throne O God is forever and ever. Then later in verse 10, God the Father calls Jesus the Lord. He says, Thou Lord in the beginning has laid the foundation of the earth and the heavens are the work of your hands. So Jesus is the Creator. And here he’s called the Lord and here he’s called God by God the Father. So Jesus is God, the Holy Spirit is God, the Father is God, and they exist as three eternal separate persons, but yet there’s one God.

Are you still there, Joyce? Yes, I am. So does that help a little bit? I don’t know. No, it’s not really because the only thing that I have this, this agreeance with you is that I love what you’re saying. there isn’t that once you believe that jesus christ is our saviour and he paid the price he sent his only begotten son so you know you die do you know what that what kind of pain that in that listen i know exactly what you’re talking about it i have a child die on the cross and watch him go through the hell well i mean i i i i kind of go through that i So I think wanted to thorn Tough some major stuff but you know what I know that jesus was he said I’m not the good.

I’m not the good talked to my father. He is the good. I Well, there is no where there is no verse. It says what you just said there is no verse Oh, yeah, well, I’m not Not Wins and word, but you know where I’m going but but Jesus you were in mygent. Jesus Christ was the son of God He had to see there’s spiritual thing. He put in a human person and he led his son and he cried. Can you imagine how God cried when Jesus Christ was going to be, go through all that misery and pain?

And if God was going to hang on the cross… I did hang on the cross and not hurt. Did you ever think about that one? And that’s what I said Jesus is God and man and it was not God and God and God and God and it was the man Jesus and God and God. I think that’s a little that’s a little axion or something and it is a mixture of things that Christians need to look at because well, you know we’re talking about Trinity here God the father and God the Holy Ghost and I’ve gone to God.

I mean, I was raised Catholic. I broke away from it a long time ago and I have been Searching the scriptures for years now. Well, maybe 30 years. On this point Joyce you really need to look at fresh because this you are on this and Jesus said in John 8 that he is the living God the same one that appeared to Moses. it said it says you know gee sky didn’t think it was robbery to be equal to god because he is but he is he is our brother he’s a brother he’s a first born he is the first born of us right that’s because also he is a man gave birth to him through his the doctrine the doctrine that you’re spousing here is the same as the Jehovah’s Witnesses and they are totally wrong and they are lost because they reject the deity of

Christ. Jesus said, if you don’t believe that I am, which is God’s divine name from Exodus, he says you will. He says you will. He says you will die in your sins. He also said, don’t call me good, good servant. It’s only God that’s good. No, he doesn’t say that anywhere. You find that quote and come back on the air with me. I will. I will. Actually, I might come over there and see ya. Well, all right. And we’ll.

I love your radio. Thank you. I love everything you’re doing. Joyce, thank you for your call. Find that verse for me and come over and see me with it. I will. All right. Jesus is God and he is a man and he is the God man. No doubt about it. And that is what the Bible teaches. And Joyce and I are gonna go around and she’s gonna try to find that verse which does not exist. And then we’ll talk about it.

The Bible and Funimer, here’s 1-800-576-3771. We’ve got some great books in here. where you’ve got a new supply now of this book on understanding Roman Catholicism. It covers 37 doctrines, crucial doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church and of the Bible and has the quotes from the Catechism for you and the page numbers and the direct quotes so you don’t have to do all that homework. And then the verses that talk about what the Scriptures say in contrast to the Roman Catholic Catechism.

Interesting stuff. By the way, I don’t know if you know about this new movie, I’m by Mel Gibson, but Mel Gibson is a Roman Catholic and he has said in an interview just the other day that anybody who is not Roman Catholic will burn in hell. There’s no salvation for Protestants and in fact implied that his own wife would go to hell because she’s a piss capay and he says she’s really a better person than he is but because she is not Roman Catholic, she’ll go to hell.

Now that is Catholic doctrine. And Mel Gibson apparently says that most of our audience I guess will go to hell because we are not Roman Catholic. And of course that’s Roman Catholic doctrine. The Catholic Church they teach is the Church. And if you’re not a part of the Catholic Church, no hope for you. So there Here we go and maybe that’ll stir up some phone calls here, but Mel Gibson has said just the other day in an interview that apparently his own wife will wind up in hell because she’s a piss-cappellian and not a Roman Catholic.

And that’s interesting, isn’t it? As we approach the release of this film, The Passion, and we’ll see what it says. We’re going to go now to the phone lines. We have Lou and Lou is in Tampa. Welcome to Bible Life. Well, Dr. Hank, how are you today? uh… perfect timing on that those last comments that you were making about the roman catholicism uh… i do morning shift over at the fitness center we were doing a little uh… another uh…

brother in christa myself we’re doing a little evangelizing we had this one gentleman we have three or four people in the discussion we had one gentleman i saw pacing back and forth i knew we wanted to ask something and uh… roman catholic uh… catholic church left church back to the church And it’s that same thing of, and it was very nice, that same thing of works for salvation. Now let me just, what I’d like for you to help me with is, again, he goes to James, that seems to be the standard thing that the Catholics like to do.

They go to James, and it was chapter two. And I’m just gonna give you the verses, and rather than go through each verse, because they’re all pretty much the same, He used verse 14, verse 17, 20 and 24. And 26. If I could get one kind of a standard, what I told him was basically James was saying the works were not to prove anything to the Lord, but basically the works were an outward showing to show other people of your belief.

I don’t know if I hit it right or not. You could help me out there so we can cover all the bases. Sure. Well, you absolutely hit it right on. Okay, I’m going to hang up so I can listen to you. Okay, you got it. All right. And that was Lou and Tampa. James too causes a lot of confusion. I have a wonderful sheet where I go through this verse by verse. But James is talking to believers. He says, What does it profit my brethren?

That’s all the way throughout the book. He’s talking to believers, not people that are lost on how to be saved. And then he says in verse 14, What does it profit? The word profit has to do with rewards. Profit is something that you earn and salvation is a gift. Never will you find that violated in the Bible. It’s a gift that was purchased by God and offer to us completely free, but profit gain, reward, or all speaking of what we can attain by our works.

And James is talking about believers who will apparently have no reward because they’re doing no works. And so he tells them in this chapter that they’re going to be justified before men and also be rewarded for their faithfulness in doing works. every Christian ought to be working for the Lord, but we don’t do it to become safe. He also says that it’s not to prove anything to God, but it says here a man comes up in verse 18 and he says, you have faith, I have works.

Show me your faith without your works. And then he says, I’ll show you my faith by my works. And so obviously our works are the way that we can display our faith to someone else. I can’t go up to somebody and see their brain glowing and maybe determined from that that they’re a Christian. There are people who do those kind of things and they say, oh, I see an aura about a Christian and don’t buy into that stuff. That’s very deceiving and misleading.

But basically, by a person’s works, You will see that they have faith. You know when a person gets in their car every Sunday morning and drives off to the church and they have their Bible in hand, that’s an indication that they are a believer. Although you really don’t really know until you ask them, but if you get a person who’s doing that ever, you’ll say, boy, that must be a Christian. That person must be a believer. And their works will obviously display their faith.

And just when you bow your head in prayer, I know many times in a restaurant, I’ll just bow my head silently and give thanks for the food I’m about to eat. And I’ve had people come over and say, you must be a Christian. I saw you bow your head in prayer. And oftentimes it is our works that display to others our faith. And of course, then it gives the illustration of Abraham in verses 21 through 23 and says that Abraham was justified when he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar.

Now that was about 40 years after he got saved. Whenever I’m got saved, Genesis 15, 6, it says, he believed God and God counted it to him for righteousness. So he believed in the coming Savior and was saved by faith alone. And then 40 years later, when he got saved, he didn’t even have a son. 40 years later, he’s willing to offer his only son. And when he was willing to do that, people recognized that this was a son that he waited a lifetime for, a son that he dearly loved, and if he was willing to offer up Isaac, he truly believed the Lord all along, and his faith was proven or demonstrated to those that were around him.

And in verse 23 it says the scripture was fulfilled. It said Abraham believed God and it was by his faith that he was saved. James teaches justification by faith alone in Christ. And in this verse, it says that the verse that tells him his salvation was fulfilled when he offered up his sonizing. And what is it? You know, if he was saved by offering up his sonizing, then this would have to read the scripture was contradicted that said he was saved just by faith.

But James teaches he saved just by faith. In the verse 26, of course, it’s saying, in the same way that the body without the Spirit is dead, faith without works is dead. And so basically, when I die, my body will remain and my Spirit and soul will leave and go to be with the Lord. And although I don’t have my body, I’m still alive, aren’t I? You see, death means separation in the Bible. the same way Faithful Thought works is that CLSID it means that like your body The body I’m talking about is a physical realm because of our body’s actions and the fact that I’m talking and breathing and I’m moving.

You can tell that I’m in my body and I’m alive. But I’m still alive once I leave this body. I have eternal life. But I can’t display it anymore if I don’t have my body anymore than I cannot display my faith unless I have works. My works allow me to reach and impact other people. We’re going to go to Joe in Hudson and Joe. Welcome to Bibleline. Hey thanks and thanks for the help the other day with those people.

I appreciate that. Good. I think they’re all right now. The lady that called about Jesus being God, I think she was when she was talking about Luke 18 where the rich ruler comes up and says good master. What shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus says why call thou me good? there’s nothing good but say one that is God. I don’t think she’s referring to that. Oh okay. I think she was talking about when he uses phrases like my father is greater than I.

Right. Oh okay. I thought she was saying well no one not they’ll call me she she more or less intimated that he was saying don’t call me good only God is good. Yeah. I really don’t say that. I followed up. What does what she was saying. Yeah. And and she’s been influenced by somebody but that sounds just like the standard uh… so it was with this line that could be something that you think about it i think what he was saying to the ruler i i thought the whole parade that he was saying why are you calling me good do you think i’m god i think he was just kind of probing to see are you really coming to me well because you think i can tell you how to be safe that work you know well i think he was a point of the was got he said why did

you call me good there’s no good but one of those god don’t you recognize that i am god because he was the only one that is good and so i think he’s pointing at his deity was going through the away of uh… leading this guy to a saving knowledge of himself but the man obviously was bent on trying to be saved by works and he uh… was telling uh… jesus that he had kept all the commandments which he was obviously deceived or lying because nobody has kept all the commandments except for christ himself and he had to get ahead of the problem with giving away all those goods in john ten thirty three to jews answer him saying for a good work we stone the knot but for blasphemy and because that now being a man make it by self-god they understood that i think the jews know who is saying who’s it whether they’re got a

not okay and i hope i hope i’ll go to a choice listen to that one that’s john and thirty three the that’s what i mean that you heard jesus is there’s a dead i’m sorry i said the audience that heard jesus understood his claim they knew he was clear thank you joe and uh… that was joe up in hudson and uh… apparently uh… mel gibson is uh… a very strong stromant catholic and has said there is no salvation for protestants they’ll all burn in hell including his own wife because she’s a pisser pelian and because without the catholic church you cannot be saved according Roman Catholic doctrine, he’s saying that there is no salvation for anybody who’s not Roman Catholic.

What do you think about that? Well, we’re going to go to Tim in Tampa. Tim, welcome to Bibleline. Hello, Mr. Lunschruv. That lady that came in there, I thought she would touch base on it, but she didn’t know about the main key part of the Bible about John 1-1, which would, would be in the beginning was the word that good stuff good stuff and uh… plus uh… i think there’s four first timothy two three god my savior there you know and uh…

many other verses that come off uh… speaking same things but uh… many people have this problem of uh… picking choosing scriptures to support their own uh… dairy speculation what are you calling and uh… instead of taking everything the way it’s supposed to be taken they take it out of context to uh… to back their own ideas up and i’ve had all that uh… times when i speak in tachshua preachers and uh… one said that we don’t have salvation until jesus come back so we got our own our salvation all my means you gotta keep your slate perfectly clean and nobody can do that and i mean a preacher actually went through this with me and i sat there talking for a while but uh…

doesn’t seem to work out that you just can’t win uh… issue like that uh… especially with a preacher and uh… they just continue to go on and they get frustrated you get frustrated and they and it’s just a constant deal back and forth and uh… you know there’s too much supporting one side and they go and take everything out of context and taking everything is going to to back them up instead of taking it all in whole and it just doesn’t work that way the absolute right and of course the bible does present he was a man but same that he was god in human flesh so he’s the god man and uh…

and uh… hopefully joise will uh… Come over and we’ll get a chance to talk further and and clarify this for her I had no idea the Catholics actually thought that they were the only ones going to heaven They believe that they are the one true church and that the only salvation can be dispensed through the church in other words Christ opened the door to heaven, but the church is the dispenser of salvation So without the Catholic church and your ability to access the church and have the sacraments To earn your way to heaven you won’t get there Then the funniest part is I’ve spoken to several Catholics and most of them don’t even read the Bible Well, of course right.

They don’t in fact What is interesting is that up until a few years ago all the services were done in Latin and nobody understood What was going on and because the Catholic Church has kept people in the darkness They have been buffalode as to what the truth is because they just the Bible has been kept from are you still there? Yeah, yes, okay, I don’t know what happened there. I don’t know either So, well, in that ladies part though is as long as, you know, just because her, some of her information isn’t correct, that means she ain’t going to heaven.

As long as Jesus is her Savior, I believe he can be the issue. That’s the main key. Well, it depends on the position she holds. If she rejects the deity of Christ, then she is not believing in the same Jesus that you and I believe in. And Jesus said in John 824, if you believe not that I am, which is his name, the name that God gave to Moses at the burning bush is his eternal name. He says, if you don’t believe that I am, you shall die in your sins.

And which means you’ll be lost. And so it is a very important point. And Jesus claims that he is the I am throughout the Scriptures. He says, I am the light of the world. I am the door by me. If any man in the inner knee shall be saved. I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. I am the resurrection and the life. So he loved that term I am and no doubt he is emphasizing and focusing in on his deity every time he uses it and to reject that he is the I am Jesus that you will die in your sins.

So it is an issue that could mean that if it’s a deliberate rejection of the person of Christ then you don’t have Christ. So actually it’s a Catholic belief that there are only ones that’s going and they’re from their point of view there’s a possibility that they’re the ones not going well you’re absolutely right about that and of course the job of witnesses arm changing everything around at first i thought she was getting at that the uh… jesus was speaking uh…

on the son of god from the man’s point of view and uh… being here on earth as opposed to being up there in heaven so it seemed like she might have been thinking that that it was up more about him speaking as a man and not as god but she was claiming she she does not believe he’s got so that’s serious yet true thank you tell me you shed some good light on the whole subject thank you all right that was tim and tampa interesting discussions are coming up now with the film the passion by mel gibson but his comments outside the film are uh…

interesting are they because he’s saying that there is no salvation for those outside of the Roman Catholic Church and including his wife will burn in hell because she’s in a piss could pay and not a Roman Catholic. So think about that for a little bit. I’m Dr. Englund from Mrs. Bibleline and we’d love to hear from you. You still have time to get in maybe a last quick call. Again, we want to thank all of you who support Bibleline and by your prayers and also by your gifts and we need regular weekly and monthly contributions to stay on the air.

And I think it’s a part of God’s plan because he wants all of us to partner together and all of us then will be beneficiaries of the results of what this program accomplishes for God and the results hopefully will carry into eternity. You know the wonderful thing about leading people to Christ is that they’ll be with you forever in heaven and the consequences of leading someone to Christ will carry on forever and ever and ever. And our investments that are made for the Lord will carry on into heaven.

As Christ said, lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. So as we partner together as Christians to carry out this work, God will bless us for sure. And we invite you to be a part of that. We certainly want to thank all of our Bible and family to keep the program going. God bless you. And if you’d like to join them in saying, I want to vote to keep this program on here, I want to be a part of this.

You’re most welcome to do that. We’ve just got a little bit of time left and we’re going to go to Crystal. In Largo and you have to give your question pretty quick because we don’t have much time. Oh, I just have something for the lady that called earlier about Jesus. Colossians 1 15 came to my mind. Okay. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. So by Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth.

Physical and invisible, what are thrones or powers or rulers or authorities? All things were created by Him or for Him. That’s excellent, Crystal. That’s a good one. Thank you so much. And that’s all I had to say. I know and believe that Jesus has gotten the flesh. Amen. And I’ve been saved. I’m 20 years old and I got saved just last year, last February. Wonderful. I got to run crystal. God bless you. Thanks for calling. That was a good verse.

20 years old and really pulling out the good stuff out of the Bible. Colossians 1.15 is the verse she recited. We’re going to have to run and pray for our radio station program here. program here, Bibleline, that it might go nationwide. We’re going to take a shot at it. I’m Dr. Anglin Sturman.
