We look forward to being with you each and every day, Monday through Friday as we come to you from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and we would love to meet you.

If you ever get a chance to come by and see us, we’d love to have you do that. We’ve had people from all over this past weekend, from Daytona Beach, from Bradenton, from Sarasota, from of course all over Pinellas County, from Michigan, from South Carolina, from Indiana, from California, from everywhere. And we’re excited about getting to meet our listeners as they come by and say hi and sometimes worship with us here at a worship service. Our resource centers over and every day, if you’re in driving this, this is come by and Hong Kong and seas, but if not, you can go to the Internet and visit our Resource Center online.

BibleLineMinistries.org Bibleline Ministries.com We hope you’ll check it out and also you can catch our radio programs right now, streaming live to the internet. You can catch it from anywhere in the world and so you can always catch it live and also later in the archive. You can also catch our worship services. You can go during the week and anytime. time of day or night and catch a year’s worth of sermons. That’s right, they’re all sitting there in archive. The book of 2 Peter.

What a grand book that one is. One I know that Satan hates. You can order the CDs or DVDs of the class. We already have first Peter done and ready. If you want to order first Peter, that’s 10 hours of teaching, you can get that on CD or DVD and that will be available for you to get. We just finished prior to that the Gospel of John. We did 18 class hours but each class was an hour and five minutes.

So when you had it all up it turned out to be over 20 years. You can get that in two parts, part one and part two. We broke it up because it was lengthy but it was well worth to take the time and go verse by by John. John. I hope you’ll take advantage of some of these things. You can call and order them over the phone, and I know that they’ll be a great blessing to you as you drive to and fro from work, throw that CD in and listen and be learning from God’s Word.

As you are at home, maybe at your desk with the Bible, you can what the nice thing is about these is you can stop me, pause me, back me, and fast forward me, and the same thing is true with the internet. We have some exciting books in our Resource Center, we have Hal Lindsey’s book, The Everlasting Hatred. If you want to understand the conflict in the Middle East, this will help you because it begins in Genesis with the hatred that began with Isaac and Ishmael that takes us right down to today.

You certainly want to get a copy of this book, it will help you understand it and we have that in our Resource Center. We also have the book New Testament Teaching on Tongues by Merle Unger, an outstanding book. Merle Unger has the Unger Bible Dictionary and many other wonderful volumes that he’s written. This one is exceptionally good called New Testament Teaching on Tongues. goes over the passages and… First Corinthians 12, 13, and 14, and demonstrates from Scripture that the gift of tongues ceased at the end of the first century with the completion of the New Testament, and it is over.

There is nobody today speaking in the biblical gift of tongues, which was a known foreign language. It was even more than that. It was a specific dialect of that language and used to communicate to those of different languages. the gospel message it was to win the lost. It says in 1st Corinthians 1422, tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to those that believe not. So I might want to take a look at that book and many others that we have in our Resource Center.

You can see a listing of them on the Internet site or you can call and we’ll send you a resource sheet that will give you a listing of all these different resources that we have. Bible Island is listeners supported and we thank God for all of you who give to Bible Island. You are the heroes that keep us on the ball or keep us on the air and it’s really greatly appreciated. Thank God for all of you. Pray for and give to Bible Island.

Thank you so very much. We’re going to get into the Bible. If you have your Bible there, you might want to open it up and we’ll turn to John’s gospel chapter 19 and we find amazingly there were many prophecies fulfilled by Christ’s death. One of the things that’s interesting I think is verse 30 of John 19 where it says Jesus, therefore when he had received a vinegar he said it is finished. Those three words are very powerful and in the Greek, the intestines written in the Greek language it is one word to tell us thy.

It’s an accounting term. It means paid in full. Full satisfaction received for the debt. And so when Jesus died on the cross, He fully and completely satisfied God’s justice and paid our sin debt in full by His death on the cross. Isn’t that great to know? Because there are those who teach that Christ died for sins during the three days after He died. There are some that speculate that Christ went to hell. Well, that’s craziness. Nobody’s in hell right now.

Not even Satan. Satan and his angels have been judged and will be thrown into hell. Satan and his angels are the ones for whom hell was created. But they’re the first ones in. And that won’t happen until after Christ has come back at his second coming seven years after the Rapture and has ruled and reigned on the search for a thousand years. At the end of those thousand years, it tells us in Revelation 20 verse 10, and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire.

And it says he will be tormented day and night, forever and ever and ever. Wow! And so that’s coming up. And then all the lost of mankind will be cast into hell after they have been brought forth and given a degree of punishment and hell based upon their works. Their lost, they’re going to hell because they did not trust Christ, but they will be judged according to their works to discern the degree of punishment that they will receive in hell.

So right now hell is empty. There’s nobody in hell. Christ didn’t go to hell. The apostles created his wrong that says he descended into hell. Unfortunately that has misled a lot of people and some say that Jesus during the three days after he came off of the cross battled Satan and his demons in hell and it was looking really bad for Christ. And he got knocked around and beat around. And finally, right at the end of the three days, Jesus somehow takes a deep breath and comes with a sucker punch and gets Satan right on the chin and knocks him out and wins the victory.

And our sin debt was paid for. That is craziness. That is nonsense. That is a trick of the devil to bypass the cross and the shed blood of Christ is the means of the payment for our sin. He did not pay for our sin after he came off the cross. A payment for sin was made by his blood. Revelation 1, 5 says unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood. Jesus paid for our sins by his death and shed blood to try to say that he paid for them later is obviously not true.

Also is one of Satan’s tactics to take us away from the gospel message that says that Christ died for our sins. 1 Corinthians 15 verse 3. And here we have it. It says that on the cross here, right at the end of those six hours that he hung there from 9 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon, he says finally at the very end it is finished. And then he bowed his head and gave up the Spirit. He bowed his head and gave up the Spirit.

I I believe Jesus Christ could have stayed alive and not died had he not wanted to. Earlier, John 10, Christ says, I have the power to lay my life down, and I have the power to take it up again. No one else has that kind of power. Jesus is God who took on flesh. And we find that Jesus had the power to lay his life down, and at the appropriate time he bows his head, and he dismisses his soul and spirit from his body, and he dies physically.

And so Jesus was fully in control, even right up in the last minute. And then he deliberately chose to give his life. It was a little bit later that they discovered that he was dead. One of the soldiers came and it says here, when they came to Jesus and saw that he was dead already, they didn’t break his legs. What is that all about? Well, you know, they wanted to get the bodies off the cross because the Passover holiday began Thursday and it really began Wednesday night at 6 p.m.

because the Jews count their night period first. So, we believe Christ was Christ of Christ on Wednesday at 3 in the afternoon as when He died and at 6 p.m. or their abouts at sundown, the Passover began. And so to speed up the crucifixion they would break their legs. It says in verse 31, the Jews therefore because it was the preparation. That was Wednesday of the crucifixion week that the body should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day, this was not the Saturday Sabbath.

It says that Sabbath day was a high day. It was one of the high holy days of Israel mentioned in Leviticus 23. Each were considered as Sabbath, and this was the Passover Sabbath. They besought Pilate, it says in verse 31 of John, that they might break their legs, that they might be taken away. You see, a person crucified and actually winds up dying of suffocation. And they have to push up their whole body weight to be able to fill their lungs.

And you can imagine how painful that would be because the two feet at the bottom are spiked together. They would have to push their whole body weight up on that spike holding the two feet. You can imagine the pain that would rivet through the body. And every time they took a breath, they would push up like that, inhale, fill their lungs, slump down, exhale, and every breath had to be taken that way. It was excruciating. The pain was horrible and we find that to speed up the crucifixion they would break the legs of the victims.

The soldiers then went out with I guess a plank or like a baseball bat. They would take it and I guess like like a major league hitter swing that bat across the victims knees, break their legs and then the victim would slump, would not be able to push up to get a breath and they would quickly suffocate and die. That’s what it says here was the case with Christ and the thieves. Then came the soldiers and they broke the legs of the first thief.

And then of the other that was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus verse 33 of John 19, they saw that he was already dead and they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side and four wither came out blood and water. So here we find they didn’t break the bones of Christ’s legs and guess what? It says, these things were done that the Scripture might be fulfilled, a bone of Him shall not be broken.

Isn’t that amazing? How close it was? It could have been that they would have broke the legs of Christ, but notice Jesus died first and He was already dead. And when they came to Him they didn’t have to break His legs. But then we see a soldier taking a spear and thrusting it up into his side into the chest and the heart cavity and forth with their spilt out blood and water. That tells us he was already dead because once a person dies the blood begins to separate the plasma from the solid parts and here we see a describing blood and water coming out.

That means he was already dead and the body, the blood was already separating out. It’s interesting here, it says again another scripture was fulfilled, they shall look on him whom they pierced. Isn’t that amazing? This piercing of his side by the Roman soldier was a prophecy from the Old Testament, and Jesus fulfilled so many prophecies in that twenty-four hour period from the time he was betrayed in the garden. Notice here it tells us that not a bone in his body would be broken, and yet it also says here, he would be pierced, and they would look upon him who may have pierced, and the prophecy was fulfilled by that soldier piercing his chest cavity.

Jesus then was heardly buried and had to be placed in the grave by sundown, and then we find 72 hours later at sundown Christ rose from the dead. And then Sunday morning… They discovered the empty tomb. Christ was alive and he’s alive forevermore. It’s exciting. And you know somebody I think watching on the internet text message to me and I found it after the service was over and it simply said in bold type, he is risen. And it was right at the same point I’m sure.

I looked at the time when I had mentioned that in our morning worship service. service and apparently they were rejoicing and couldn’t help but text message me and I saw that after church was over an hour or so later that somebody rejoiced with me that Christ was risen. He’s alive forever more. God bless all of you out there. I’ll tell you. This is exciting and you know we have a living Savior. This is how we know He is the only Savior.

Christ from the beginning said, what sign He was asked would you show show that would tell us that you’re the Messiah. And he said, only one sign would be given this adulterous and evil generation. And that would be the sign of the prophet Jonah. That is Jonah died. As Jonah was three days and three nights in the Fish’s belly, social and the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth, then he would come back from the dead.

The resurrection sets Jesus Christ apart from all world religious leaders and founders of world religions. They’re all dead men. They can’t help you. But Jesus is alive. And he said, he who believes on me or trusts on me has everlasting life. You have eternal life from the moment you believe, the moment you trust. The better word is trust because the Greek word says we have to trust that he died, paid our sin debt and full by his death and shed blood was buried.

Rose again from the dead, the moment you trust him, God saves you. We’re going to go to the phone lines. I’m Dr. Anklinstrain. This is Bibleline. And we’re going to go to Albany, New York and we’re going to talk to David up in Albany, New York and David. Thanks for calling today Hey, I’m about to ask that. How you doing? Good? Listen, I want to ask you something because Went to a home. I went to the church over the weekend.

I worked with this guy and I’m trying to um But so I was just trying to humor him by going to his church and stuff and I I took my Bible, went to the church, and it turns out it was one of those, one of those, the movement where those guys do that whole, the purpose driven thing. Yeah, the Rick Warren. Yeah, what is that all about? I mean, it felt like you were somewhere where you weren’t supposed to be his Christmas.

I mean the whole darkness, I mean first of all you couldn’t read your Bible and technically they used NIV and they just threw these chapters up with no verses and it was just a mess. But I just couldn’t understand what the darkness was about and I just wanted to ask you. Well I think it’s to attract the world and it’s more like a nightclub type atmosphere is the way I view it. And they remove all symbols of Christianity, all crosses and all symbols are gone.

And they attract with the music and the darkness. And to me, I just really came by into that. I know older folks can’t handle the noise and the loudness of the music. That’s probably what you experience too. And it’s unfortunate, but we’re living in a time now when they are departing from Sound Doctrine, just like it says in 2 Timothy chapter 4. And we’re seeing this apostasy happen right before our very eyes. And that’s a sign that we’re close to the rapture.

So in one sense you can rejoice and say, Jesus is coming soon. This is the evidence of it. And in the other way we can grieve because, wow, the churches are departing away from the Word of God and they’re using other methods to attract people. And the major reason why you should go, the church is the worship of the Lord and to learn from his word and that is being abandoned today, unfortunately. Well, thank you very much, talking about it.

I appreciate you calling David and that’s becoming more and more popular. We now have Wilbert in St. Petersburg. Wilbert, welcome to Bibleline you’re on here. I guess I have a, well, he also drawn to himself or just what’s his army drawn to. I was unclear. Now, Pharaoh himself also drowned in the Red Sea. In fact, we have a book here called Exodus Case, which is really a phenomenal book, and it has pictures… They have discovered the chariots on the bottom of the Red Sea and these are taken by scuba divers.

You can see pictures of the scuba divers and of the chariot wheels on the bottom. They found one chariot that was not encrusted with barnacles and things, and they believe that that must have been the chariot of the ferret himself that was gold overlaid and the barnacles and things would not stick to that. And so they think they actually found the pharaoh’s chariot quite an amazing book and a lot of people are enjoying that to show their friends that hey you know as we Advanced along here.

We’re finding more and more evidences that the Bible is an anchored book and tells us exactly What happened and and we can confirm that today many times by the discoveries through Modern science and archaeology and so on. Well, thank you. All right, and And definitely, I think they might have found Ferro’s Cheeriot. We’re going to go to D in Richmond, Virginia and D. Welcome to my mind. You are on there. Hi, Dr. Hank. How you doing? Good. I’d just like to add to your Friday crucifixion deal.

Not only was it three stabs in a row, you know, they pass over and the piece of 111 red. But people that say it was a Friday crucifixion think that the mass supple was on pass over day, which when you look at the word the bread they use is two different words for bread. Strongs, Concordans, the low bread is RTOS and unleavened bread is A-Z-U-M-O-S, Strong’s 106 and whenever they use the 106 word, unleavened as always placed in front of that to verify unleavened bread.

And when each time the Lord’s Supper is mentioned, the loaf cartos is always used. And it’s no way they could have eaten loaf bread at the Passover dinner because leavened had to be out the house complete. So that was another reason the verifier couldn’t have been a Friday crucifixion because it would have to be before pass. It just doesn’t make any sense. Most people can figure that out very early. I was a young child and I said, how early did you get three days and three nights between Friday and Sunday?

And I never did sit well with me. Of course after I got saved and took a closer look, you realize that it certainly could not have been Friday. The mistake came from that verse we just read a moment ago in John 1931 because it reads here the Sabbath day and he was crucified on the preparation of the Sabbath and so they normally assume that Saturday and therefore he’s crucified on Friday but they failed to read carefully it says that Sabbath was a high holy day of Israel so it was the Passover Sabbath that is talking about and that was on Thursday and the preparation day was Wednesday.

exactly and they said it was that they couldn’t leave them on the cross on the saber saber that’s right and the uh… uh… passover with the saber day the feast of unleavened red on the fifteenth was out which would have been Friday was also a saber day and then saturday was the regular saturday was a weekly saturday so it was three saber days in a row so it had to be on a Wednesday there you go but anyway i just wanted to add that thank you d and also Matthew twenty one says when the Sabbath’s plural ended then came the first day of the week and the women came and they came to finish the uh…

burial we know we’re going to go to salmon lakeland florida and uh… sam welcome to bible and you’re on the air and you are coming to you now i want to ask them but god was sent to you last week he was talking about it said every year we come around and you can’t know Thanks, given, I mean, Easter reason, Jesus reason. And he said to him that it only mattered that Jesus was roped. But every year, you have children standing raising up cheering all the time.

So you have to always teach every year because cheering have never heard that. So you have to teach that all the time, didn’t you? Absolutely sure the death penalty resurrection is the heartbeat of the Bible. And you can’t escape it from the very beginning pages of Genesis right on through the last book of Revelation. The Bible talks about the blood, it talks about the death of Christ, and either in type or specific prophecies about it. And then of course the actual Gospels telling the story of how it really happened.

And without that message you can’t be saved. You have to believe the Gospel is Romans 1 16, that I’m not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. for it, the Gospel is the power of God and the salvation to everyone that I believe in. So Sam, thank you for that call. We appreciate that. And we’re now going to go to Ann in Vermontville. Hi, I was just wondering how important you feel that it is to teach creation versus the evolution theory in the Church’s.

Well, I think it’s very important to point out that we did not evolve. Obviously, that is the origin for those who don’t believe in God. The second position is to how man came into being, but the Bible is very clear that God created Adam and Eve. They were the first humans. The first man was Adam. The Bible says that specifically in 1 Corinthians 1545. The first man ever created was Adam. We’ve got to go to break and we’ll try to get back with you and right after the break.

I hope all of you will stay tuned. We’ll be back in just a minute and do the second, the part two on the second half hour of Bible Go go away. I’ll be right back. The Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englundsstrom. We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break into the second half hour Bibleline, so keep you ready to tune right where it is And we’ll be right back with you in one second so they’ll go away. We’ll be right back Or area you can just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771.

Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is my name is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. It’s wonderful to be with you. We’re broadcasting to you from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and it’s exciting to be Here with you, you know, Jesus Christ died to pay for the sins of the world. That’s the most significant event that has ever taken place in history. And God planned it before the foundations of the world.

And let us know well in advance of his coming, giving us hundreds of prophecies that were literally, literally, literally fulfilled by Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible should be taken literally. And it obviously has a, a, a, a lot of the things that we’re going to do. demonstrated that it should be because these prophecies were fulfilled and you see that word so many times in the gospels that this prophecy or that prophecy or whatever prophecy was fulfilled by Christ as we just said in the past half hour that the fact they didn’t break a bone in his body was the fulfillment of an Old Testament prophecy.

The fact that the soldier pierced his side was the fulfillment of an Old Testament prophecy and the fact that Christ would give His life was foretold by the prophets and Christ came and did exactly that. I hope you’ve trusted Him as your Savior. There’s no other way to be saved, but by trusting Christ. If you try to be saved by your works, you won’t be saved because salvation is not based upon what we do for God. It’s what God did for us at the cross through Christ in His death and shed blood that purchased our salvation.

We’re going to go back to the phone lines we have Ann who’s been so patient from Vermont, ville, Michigan. And where did we live off Ann? What was that? I’m trying to remember where we left off. We got started with your question. Oh, well, you were just talking about believing in the literal rising of Jesus after he died on the cross. in teaching some of the creation versus evolution. I’ve run across many people that say they do not believe the creation story literally, but if you don’t, then how do you believe that Jesus rise to literally?

Well, you’re exactly right, because the Bible stands or falls, it’s all together all nothing. You know, and Jesus obviously endorses the creation. In Matthew 19, he says, have you never read God made him at the beginning, male and female. And that was a creation. And obviously, man didn’t come off some conveyor belt at the end of some evolutionary process. He was created specifically apart from all other life by God taking dust of the ground and fashioning man and breathing in his nostrils the birth of life.

And you know the evidence is now coming on our side because like I read just recently they used DNA and they tested DNA on the Crope Magnum man and they said there’s absolutely no connection between humans and Crope Magnum because the DNA proves it so more and more as science advances I think the evolutionists go run they’re gonna have to run and hide in a cave someplace because they’re gonna be obviously embarrassed and they’ll be having put their feet in their mouth.

It’s not going to taste too good. And so the Bible is going to be vindicated. But unfortunately a lot of people try to disbelieve the Bible and they accept lies instead of the truth. Yes. I think it also overlooked as a great tool for reaching people to go either deeper in their faith. Once you really show all the scientific proof that is available to back up creation, I think it opens the eyes to many people of just how awesome God is.

Amen. I absolutely agree with you. I graduated myself from the University of Florida in electrical engineering and science was my God. When I found out what the Bible had to offer me, was absolutely amazed that the Bible was accurate in the areas of science that it taught that the earth was round thousands of years ago way before Columbus over sale the ocean blue and that the universe was created out of energy the very concept that Einstein came along with three thousand years after the Bible told us that and and it’s just quite a remarkable thing and most people just have never been taught that nobody points it out and I think it’s a shame that we don’t teach more on that.

I agree. I just wish more people felt that way. Most people tell me that my passion for that particular area is kind of not really a waste of time, but a lot of people just don’t care about that subject. And so I was just curious about what you saw. Well, I believe you’re right on in. Keep it up. Okay, thank you. And that’s up in Michigan. We now are going to go to Lois down in Bradenton, Florida. Lois, so welcome to Bibleline Your On The Air.

Um, Julia, program Dr. Lindstrom. We listen every day. Wonderful. And, uh, I’ve learned so much. Now, the problem I’m wondering about, I know that the gospel is the death, the death, burial, resurrection of Jesus, and he died for our sins and about trust in Him. But I was just wondering when Jesus was on the earth, what did he preach? I mean, it couldn’t have been the gospel because he was still alive. And I know he spoke in parables, but what I’m John spoke in for repentance, and I was just wondering what Jesus and what people saved during the time he was on earth?

Absolutely. Let me just say that John 3 16, guess what? is spoken by Jesus very early on in his ministry. He said, for God so loved the world, that’s all of us. That he gave his only begotten son. He’s talking about himself. That whosoever would believe or trust in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. So there’s a gospel. That’s right. That’s right. Okay. Okay. So it’s right there. So that’s that’s what That’s what he preached. That’s right.

That’s what he preached and John the Baptist before him preached the same thing If you look at John 3 36, it’s a direct quote from John the Baptist and it said There that Jesus rather John the Baptist said he the belief of on the Sun has everlasting life He the belief if not the Sun shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him So John the Baptist also preached a very clear message that it wasn’t that they’re on resurrection that he peed Well, yes, it was and that’s what he taught.

He taught he was going to die. It says in numerous verses that Jesus would Go to the cross and he’d be delivered in the hands of sinful men and he would be crucified and rise again from the dead And and you see that Early on throughout Matthew’s gospel mark and Luke. I’ll give you a quote here from Matthew And here Jesus is a beginning in let’s see here I’ll give you one of those quotes where Jesus says That he was going to be turned over to the religious leaders of Israel and be rejected and crucified and so on it says here in verse 21 of Matthew 16 from that time forth began Jesus the show on his disciples how that he must go up into Jerusalem and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes and be killed and be right and be raised again the

third day. So it’s all there. Okay so he did preach about that. Yes he did. Yes he did. Okay okay well I just wondered about that you know because I knew what the Gossa wasn’t, I thought, well he was still alive and in the Old Testament too didn’t they say they predict that too. Absolutely, Lois. That’s exactly right. That’s a good question. I’m glad you brought it up. Okay. Thank you so much, Dr. Lynch. Okay. Thank you, Lois. That was Lois done in Bradenton, Florida.

We now have George in Venice, Florida. And George, welcome to Bibleline. Yes. Thank you, Dr. Hank. My question is in regards to after the Lord had risen and he appeared to the death of He still had the scars on his hands and in his side. But in regards to that, when he met the two men on the road, I always wondered if maybe they didn’t recognize him because if he had those scars, maybe also it said his face was, you know, he’s so badly beaten that his face was disfigured.

And maybe that’s why those guys didn’t recognize him. Do you think that’s possible? Well, I think it’s more than that. If you read Luke 24 16 that talks about that Walk along the road to a mass. It says their eyes were holding that they should not know him So God really kept them blinded here as This story I think was not only for their benefit, but for ours as well and we learn From them what they were thinking and Jesus interviews them and he says, why are you sad?

And then they tell the story about how Christ has been crucified and how they had hoped that he was the Messiah and so on and so on. And then he goes on to explain old fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken. And that is that Christ would have to die and suffer first. And then in the second coming he would come in his glory to bring peace on earth good will toward men. And so he lays out the plan and then of course their eyes were opened and they’re breaking the bread and they recognize who he was.

That’s a great story and I think verse 16 though is the answer to your question. Yeah, okay, well great. Thank you. All right. Thank you. And that was George done in Venice, Florida We’re now going to go to John in Brandon, Florida John. Welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank I have a question. I think it was asked one type another life My question is at the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the new Testament within that period between the end of the Old Testament and the book and the new book of the New Testament what happened in that time to it does anybody know what they’re any any proof of any additional books written uh…

what i’m really trying to get out of it i believe it was a period of three or four hundred years and i wanted to find anyone had an idea or if you can probably throw some light i’m going to hang up and then you can answer okay john that’s a very good question we call those the silent years and there was over four hundred years of silence israel had really departed from the lord and he withdrew his profits So there was no authentic spokesperson for God during that time.

And the one who broke the silence, the last Old Testament prophet, was John the Baptist. And then of course he introduced his Christ, who is God. And when Christ spoke, it was God speaking. But yes, we do have writings from that time, but they’re not inspired of God. They were not written by a prophet or an authentic spokesperson for God. And those books are available. In fact, some have added them to the Old Testament scriptures. The Catholic Church added about 14 or 15 books that are just basically Jewish histories.

The Maccabees and other books tell about the Maccabean wars and the problems that Israel is facing during that time. But very interesting reading, but they’re just not aspired of God. and that fills in the gaps there of what happened in that time. And of course, other writings have come to light about that time period. In fact, the Essenes who were the ones who copied the Scriptures at Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, we have a number of their writings that tell about the days prior to and after even Christ was crucified right up until when the Romans came and apparently took them all away or killed them all and they had hidden their strolls in the caves there and they remained up until 1947 when the first Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered there which were preserved because of the very dry, dry climate down there by the

Dead Sea. We’re going to Darnell in and Darnell is in St. Petersburg. Darnell Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey, how you doing? I’m Dr. Hank. Good. I had a friend. I’m trying to witness to about Christ. He came up with a question about the Easter Bunny. Where did the Easter Bunny come from? I told him that the Easter thing was a pagan belief that I couldn’t go into the Internet. We have a book called Two Babylons here in our Resource Center that really goes into that history, but it has to do with Astroth and Bail, and you’ll find that name, if you have a concord, you’ll find it throughout the Old Testament.

And if you take off the last three letters, it’s just Astrar, the English form is Easter, and that’s the name of the mother of Bail. She was a sex goddess, and the bunny rabbits and the eggs all speak of sex fertility, rapid reproduction, and that’s where it came from. has nothing to do with Jesus at all. So that’s got went into Christianity as the celebration of Astra and Baal has continued. But when Constantine in the fourth century declared that the world be all Christian, the pagan celebration didn’t go away.

But all of a sudden, Astra and became Mary and Baal became Jesus. You really have to ask sometimes are you being presented the same ancient Babylonian system of the worship of a mother and her child and known in the Bible in the Old Testament as Astroth and Baal? Or do you have the real Mary and the real Jesus? You know, Astroth was called the Queen of Heaven. Look at how that abtation has taken place where many teach that Mary is the Queen of Heaven.

That’s all paganism. That’s not true. That’s not really the Mary of the Bible. And so unfortunately a lot of people are accepting a Mary that’s not the Mary of Scriptures and even a Jesus that’s not the Jesus of the Bible. And this is where Satan’s been really clever to bring us a counterfeit that slides right in and looks almost like the real thing. So we’ve got to be able to read our Bibles carefully and the Booktube Abilons will really help expose that to you.

Well, again, that was having to do with the Astroph as a sex goddess. The bunnies spoke about sex and rapid reproduction. Rapids have a little babies real quickly. quickly and uh… so that’s really what that’s all about it i don’t have a problem people having uh… money rabbits or eggs or whatever but i think we need to recognize the false origin and and really this holiday should have been only about jesus it’s all about him we’re now going to go to jane and she’s in st peter’s burger and jane welcome to buy blind welcome Thank you.

I just wanted to make a comment to the ladies that called just a few minutes ago asking about what Jesus preached. In Luke 20, verse 1, it says that he taught the people in the temple and he preached the the gospel to the chief priests and the scribes, the elders. So it says right there that he did preach the gospel. Amen. Well, great. Thank you for sharing that. You’re welcome. And also quite a while ago you had a caller asking about Bible Studies fellowship.

Yes. And I have been in that since 1990 and it was a Bible study started by Witherall Johnson and she was a missionary to China. And it’s a Bible study that teaches that you’re saved by grace alone. Well, I faith in Jesus Christ and that’s it. Appreciate you’re sharing that with us, Jane. You’re welcome. jane in st p isberg uh… letting us know that we have uh… uh… carl in that Tampa florida and carl welcome to bible on your own year uh…

yeah that’s right i would just uh… been studying a little bit uh… i don’t know why uh… but lately i’ve been being confronted with some joe witnesses and i find that some of the people that are probably not reading their own bible uh… i did give an example in uh… the book of john john one twenty three at the top of John the Baptist and the wilderness preparing the wave toward the Lord. And Isaiah chapter 40 verse 3 and it talks about a man in the wilderness preparing the way for the Lord.

And I looked it up in their Bible, on the internet, on the World Translation Bible, and there it says that John the Baptist was preparing the way straight for Jehovah. Amen. And it says that also in Isaiah chapter 40 verse 3 and I’m thinking if that’s what it says there Then I read the whole Bible because right there tells you that Jesus Christ is Jehovah And so if there’s anybody that’s listening in right now There’s your there’s your whole witness then you look it up for themselves and they’ll see that and the same thing When it talks about Jesus Christ being Emmanuel and thereby was said our Bible says Jesus Christ a man you’re being meaning God with us and their Bible says with us is God.

Wow. And that’s who a man you is and Jesus Christ is a man you and they’re even a neighbor so I think that if they just read the whole Bible they’ll probably get saved. I think you’re exactly right. Yeah. They’re brainwashed by the Watchtower Society and thanks for bringing that up that’s It’s really good and I’m glad that you’re arming us up here with what to say when we’re talking to a witness. Yes, okay. God bless you. God bless you, Carl.

That was Carl and St. Petersburg. We’re glad to have all of you listening today. Thank you for tuning in. You know, we are listeners supported and without your help we really couldn’t be on the air and this would be a time you could really help us. We have gotten a little bit behind. I’ve noticed a lot of ministries are telling me that their offerings have been hurt by the economy and we’re no exception. And if you could help us, that would really be greatly appreciated and God bless you for your help in advance.

You can call and give a gift by credit card over the phone and or you can call and ask for an envelope to be sent mail your gift to my blind and you can also just give on on the internet in our online bookstore there. If you go to BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the online bookstore as a place to give there. But we need your help and we’re not trying to get your money. We’re trying to get the gospel out.

We believe that Christ is returning soon. Truly, the signs are everywhere. Not only in the secular world, look at the flooding, look at the weather changes, look at the wars and rumors of wars, look at the famines and some parts of the world and the crazy world we’re living in, where the Bible tells us it’s a fearful time. As we see the danger of nuclear war and other things, I think Christ is coming soon. We need to, as believers, say, let’s get going.

Let’s wake up here. Let’s tell the world while we can, because there’s a day coming when you and I will not be able to witness. There’s a day coming when Bibleline will not be on the air. We’re going to be raptured out and our opportunities will be over. I believe we need to do all we can do. That’s why I push right out to the limit of what God gives us in the way of gifts from our listeners. We try to spread ourselves right out to the very edge.

And we’re excited about what God is doing. We’re going to be going on TV in Turkey free. I met the fellow that’s head of that project. He really likes what we’re doing. He says that what they need is teaching, which is hard to find anymore. and they’re going to take my television programs, translate them into Turkish, and beam them into Turkey on satellites. So we’re very excited about that. That’s going to be happening pretty soon. We also had a fellow who is tuning into Bibleline over in Central Africa in a French-speaking country.

He’s asked if he could get his translators to the permission to translate our materials all into French to be used there in Central Africa in French speaking countries. So we’re excited what God is doing and we hear about people getting saved all the time through Bibleline. And maybe you’ve gotten saved through Bibleline. Would you consider giving a gift? Just call the 800 number and you can give one by phone over the phone you can give it by your credit card or you can mail that gift in.

God bless you and thank you in advance. We now have David in Largo, Florida, and David, welcome to Bibleline your own year. Thank you, Dr. Lindstrom. I’m calling in reference to a previous caller who was asking about the 400-year, silent years. And my wife, who is quite a Bible student, seems to believe, and I go along with this, that those 400 years were used, in part, at least anyway, to create a road system and a trade language so that when the gospel message was ready to be preached there was a way to trap.

Well I think you’re right the Romans obviously were builders and they built these roads and the gospel went quickly at that time and everything was ready for it to happen and I think the same is true today as it will be a very short period of time where the gospel needs to get into all the world during the tribulation period after the rapture and with the satellites and TVs and all this modern technology. I think it’s ready again for the same kind of a thing that would happen on a grander scale worldwide.

And so we’re living in the time when Christ is returning. That’s good. Thank you for sharing that, David. All right. That was David in Largo, Florida. We’re coming up here on the very end of the show today. Time has run out, but the resurrection is no doubt about it. This is the zenith of Christianity, the most important week of the year that we could possibly celebrate. And it’s a great time to talk about Christ and lead us to Christ.

And we pray that you’re going to be able to reach a lot of people for Christ in your family, loved ones and friends. And this is a great opportunity to witness when we have these holidays. Also, we want you to know our Resource Center has lots of wonderful tools. The Scofield Bible, which I recommend so highly, and we’ve now have a large print, strong skincordants, believe it or not. Nelson has put one out. We have that now available at a real good price, and we also have numerous other books for evangelizing and tracks that really work and lead people to Christ.

We have the CD, how permanent is your salvation? We find that if you get somebody to listen to it, the chances are that they would trust the Lord. It’s really been phenomenal and a lot of people are using them as a witnessing tool. I’m going to have to run, but we’re so glad that you tuned in today. I hope you’ve enjoyed it and I hope you’ll listen all week long. You can go to our website, Bibleline Ministries and listen to this program as often as you like.

You can also catch our radio programs or television programs and a ton more. Check out that website, widgets at BibleLineMinistries.org. We’ve had many people tell us they finally have dusted their Bible off and got it going again and they had lost interest because of many different reasons.

But Bibleline has sparked an interest again and they’re digging in for themselves and finding truths that they hadn’t seen before and we’re excited about what God is doing in that way. And we pray that you will also delight in being able to go there and maybe listen at your leisure sometime in the evening.

In any case, we’ve got to run, but we’ll be back tomorrow on Tuesday. So keep looking up. Jesus is coming and we believe soon. And I hope that you’re one of those who have trusted Christ so that you’ll be in that event when the Rapture happens, it will meet you in the air.
