We’ve got all those classes available in a series on CD. People are really enjoying these CDs and I’m hearing great reports about how they feel like they’re right there in the classroom because we’re digitally recording them into the computer and putting them on CD. They’re turning out real, real nice. Also our Resource Center, we have lots of wonderful books. We have some by Louis Bereschafer. He founded Dallas Theological Seminary. These books were written over a hundred years ago. They’re marvelous Satan his motives and methods the incredible book his book on salvation incredible book we have some by Charles wiry we have his balancing the Christian life and it has a study guide in the back But this is great for new Christians It tells you basically some of the basic things you need to know as a new believer issues about giving about the gifts about
A lot of things that just face the new Christian and how you get going. We also have two great books on One understanding Roman Catholicism which takes you through the Catechism and shows you the Scriptures versus the Catechism. You’ll love that. We also have the book, Two Babylons. It is a book that’s been around for a long time. It’s well documented. and it is really the true origin it gives in here of the mass, purgatory, prayers for the dead, the rosary, the sign of the cross, the confessional, relic worship, extreme function, all kinds of things which are really not biblical but are included in what is called Christianity underneath the Roman Catholic Church.
But this paganism that has come in really needs to take this book and see how it can be traced all the way back to Genesis chapter 10 and the time of the Tower of Babel. Well, we are going to talk about the Bible for just a few minutes here. By the way, we’re in what is called Lent, but there is no Lent in your Bible. Are you aware of that? There might be L-I-N-T. Shake your Bible. L-I-N-T might fall up, but no No L E N T.
There’s no such thing. I have the Roman Catholic Encyclopedia in front of me and it says Ash Wednesday. It says Ash Wednesday is a solemn call to penance so that one may enjoy eternal life. What does it say? That basically if you observe Lent and you pray and fast, you’re earning points toward heaven and make salvation by works. And of course the Bible says salvation is not of works. a steady man should boast. There is no such thing as Lent in your Bible.
There is no such thing as Ash Wednesday in your Bible. All of these things are not biblical. Also, we shouldn’t be using the E word at this season. We should be talking about the R word, the resurrection of Christ, again from the dead. By the way, Jesus said, as Jonah was three days and three nights in the fishes belly, social as some men be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Well Jonah died in the fishes’ belly.
Most people don’t know that. In fact, I got a call just before the program and I hear it all the time. I never heard that before. Well, you know, if you read your Bible carefully, you’ll certainly see that Jonah died and then he was resurrected and Jesus picked him out of the Bible as a picture of his own death, burial and resurrection. When you read the story very carefully In Jonah chapter two, you find it tells us that Jonah was in Sheol.
It’s translated hell in your King James, but Sheol, S-H-E-O-L is this hollow place in the heart of the earth where the dead continue to go and are in flaming torment, but also the saved went prior to the death barrel and resurrection of Christ. When Christ died, he went down into Sheol or Hades and he went to the Paradise part, and of course he told the dying thief, today thou shalt be with me in Paradise. This is where he went.
On the third day when Christ rose, he emptied the place out now. All of the Old Testament believers are in heaven, no longer in the heart of the earth, but the lost are still down there in the heart of the earth. And Jonah says in verse six of Jonah chapter two, I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth with her bars was about me forever. He’s in the heart of the earth. That’s what it’s saying here.
And obviously he died to get there because you cannot go to the heart of the earth except you die. Of course, today the believers go straight to heaven, but in the Old Testament, believers went to paradise and that’s where Jonah went, that’s where Christ went, that’s where the dying thief went and since Calvary and since Christ’s ascension to heaven, All the believers are today in heaven, but the unbelievers still go to this hollow place in the heart of the earth But if you read Jonah 2 6 it says yes yet has thou brought up my life from corruption Yet has thou brought up my life from corruption throughout the Bible the phrase corruption refers to the process Where a body returns back to the dust from which it came?
Jonah died his body was being decomposed by the stomach acid in stomach of that fish. And on the third day, God resurrected Jonah from the dead, brought him back into that same body, and then he went on to the Nineveh of Preach. So Jonah died, it’s clear in the scripture, most people have watched too much Disney and Pinocchio stories. And of course, they kind of think that this was like Pinocchio, sitting at a table with a candle biting out the time until the three days and three nights were up.
Not what happened at all. Jonah died. His body was entombed in the fish’s belly. His soul went into the heart of the earth. Just like Christ’s body was entombed in the rich man’s tomb and his soul went down into the heart of the earth. On the third day he came back into that body and he showed himself alive for 40 days. Jonah was brought back into that same body and toomed in the fish’s belly, but he had a moving tomb so the fish drove him to the shore, spit him up on the shore, and then he went about showing himself alive after a death experience.
and after he had been resurrected. Well, we’re gonna go ahead and go to the phone lines and we have Gary in Largo, not on the air, excuse me. Now, let me give you the phone number 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Gary Largo called in, but he didn’t stay on the air. He’s asking about John 20, and could I explain that? We’re gonna turn over there right now. John 20 verses 22 and 23, I believe is what he’s asking about. And it says in verse 22 and 23, he said, when he had said this, he breathed on them.
This is after the resurrection, Christ breathes on the disciples and said, receive you the Holy Spirit. I believe this is a temporary indwelling because obviously the Holy Spirit came to permanently indwell believers at Pentecost. So for the 40 days after the resurrection of Christ, when Christ taught and showed himself alive and preached and taught to his disciples during those 40 days, he empowered them to receive the instruction by giving them the Holy Spirit for those 40 days. Then he says in verse 23, “‘Whosoever sins you remit the arimited unto them, and whosoever sins you retain they are retained.”
And of course that power is given to every one of us as believers and it’s the power to forgive sins through the gospel message. When I tell somebody the message of the death, the barrel, the resurrection of Christ, if they trust Christ as their Savior, I can tell them on the authority of God’s Word that they are saved. If they reject that message, I can tell them on the authority of God’s Word, they’re going to help. So the power to forgive sins is in the message of the gospel and I I have that power and so do you, if you’re a believer, you can tell someone else how to be saved.
But salvation is a gift. And it cannot be earned, it cannot be deserved, it is given by God to all those that trust Christ. But we have the power, we have the message that is the power of God unto salvation. You know Romans 1, 16, Paul said, I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe it. So Gary, I hope that answers your question. Every believer has the power to forgive sins by bringing the message to the gospel to those that are lost when they hear that message and believe that message, then they are forgiven.
If they reject that message on the authority of God’s word, we can tell them they’re lost and we’ll wind up in hell. The phone number, 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. You might want to get my Crucifixion chart, which is a chart of the Crucifixion Week beginning with Palm Sunday right through Resurrection Sunday. Just call and ask for it, or if you’ll send a self-adrift stamp down below, send at the Bibleline at 4811, Rhodes Road in Tampa. And if you’ll send that self-adrift stamp down below and ask for the the crucifixion chart will be happy to send that right out to you.
And that’ll cover all the events from Palm Sunday to Resurrection Sunday, including the crucifixion on Wednesday, the burial of Christ, and his resurrection, we believe at Saturday, 6 p.m., 72 hours after he was placed in the grave. And you might like that to have to follow through as we begin to celebrate crucifixion wheat. Just a little bit away here in the future. Well, the phones are ringing and thank you for listening. We have a book here called New Age Bible Versions.
It covers about 20 of the modern translations, but it covers the NIV, the NASB, the NKJV, the NRSB, the RAB, the RAB, the RSV, the CEV, the TEV, the GNB, the Living Bible, the Phillips Bible, the New Jerusalem Bible, the New Century Bible, and so on and so on. You’ll be fascinated to see what changes have been made in many of the new translations. Some of them give us about 2000 omissions. Omissions where they leave out things. And one of the things that’s being left out of many of the modern Bibles is the word blood.
There seems to be a hatred by Satan concerning the blood of Christ. Because it’s by the blood of Christ that we are redeemed by the blood of Christ. We’re cleansed of our sin. And by the way, not only is it being left out of many of the modern translations, but the word blood or songs about the blood are being left out of the modern hymnals.
Are you listening to Christian radio? Are you listening to those that play music? Have you heard a hymn lately about the blood? It’ll be seldom that you’ll hear one because they’re being removed. They’re just not singing about the blood anymore. In my church, I make a special point to singing about the blood because I believe it’s important that we not forget this important doctrine. I love that hymn. What can wash away my sin? Answer. Nothing but the blood. Nothing but the blood.
These hymns are being left out of modern hymnals and if you’re listening to Christian radio, pay attention. And maybe you ought to call up those stations and say, hey, how come I never hear any songs or hymns about the blood anymore? What kind of a Christian station is this anyway. Well you know really it’s a serious thing we’re entering in the last times and Satan is attacking the Bible and the Word of God. We invite you to call 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771.
And we would love to hear from you so give us a call. Jonah died in the fish’s belly. Jonah was resurrected from the Gaal. One gentleman a week ago said that he announced that in his Bible study and they laughed him to scorn. They didn’t believe that Jonah died. And of course, amazingly, he got a CD from me where I covered that doctrine and he played eleven minutes of it to them. and apparently they changed their mind except for one alright we have uh…
a caller on the line and this is uh… rose and from tampa and uh… welcome to bible and yes good morning doctor linson uh… thank you for taking my call and thank you for your wonderful program of bible truth thank you you welcome on the could you please tell me uh… the bible attitude towards racial into marriage and also considering Genesis 25 to talk about. Okay. Basically, the Bible only forbids believers from marrying unbelievers. So there is nothing against interracial marriage.
But at the same time, when you enter into marriage, you need to have as many things in common as possible. oftentimes, unfortunately, interracial marriages fail at a greater rate because they bring so many different differences that sometimes it causes division in a marriage. For example, the taste for certain kinds of food, the couple can’t agree on that. And the other things that are brought to the table and likes and dislikes from their cultural background. But as far as the Bible is concerned, if two are believers, they can certainly get married, and hopefully that helps.
Also in Genesis, when we talk about the Tower of Babel, that is apparently when all the nations were founded, and probably when the races began, because God confounded the languages, but I don’t doubt that he also probably changed the skin colors at that time. And so that was to really prevent the corruption of the human race, the fact that it was spread out and diverse allowed it to remain intact for a longer period of time. But today we have the whole world coming together through the television and the other means of communication we have and the rapid travel we have between countries so that the world as being now, going down the tubes, I think rather fast as far as it’s moral and its belief Interstitial as it’s becoming more anti-God or more secular.
And I think that we’re in the end times which is described also as Babylon because it was the tower of Babel that was bringing the people together under one world government, one world religious system, one language. And today we’re coming back to that, aren’t we? The world is becoming smaller, where they’re talking about a world government and a new world order. One political system and the ecumenical movement is bringing religion together. That is not of God, by the way.
Because obviously there’s only one Savior, Jesus Christ, and to try to bring everybody together and say that we all are one is not true. And that is, of course, Satan’s attempt to bring the world into his control in the last days. Hopefully that helps. Yes, thank you. That made a lot of sense and thank you very, very much. You’re very welcome. God bless and have a great day. All right, we have Brad from Clearwater, and he says, is the Antichrist from the United Nations?
And the answer is he comes from the United States of America. But I believe the Antichrist comes out of this country. This is the most powerful country in the world today. And the Bible talks about it in the book of Daniel, also in the book of Revelation, about an 11th nation that is spawned by the European nations that were part of the ancient Roman Empire. We’re the only nation in the world that is younger than, stronger than, that has been spawned by Europe.
And we are, believe that, 11th nation. And out of that nation, the Bible says the Antichrist, who is also called the little Horn will spring forth. And so I believe he’s somewhere, if we’re close, and I believe we are, probably in the layers of government right now. Maybe were looking at him right now, but at the time it happens, he’ll be the president of the United States when I believe the tribulation period begins. So once the rapture happens, that’s the way it’ll come down.
Thank you for that call. We also have Vinny in Palm Harbor. He says, would I please explain Zachariah chapter 14 verse 3. Vinny, I’m turning there right now and we’ll try to get that question for you. Zachariah chapter 14 verse 3 says what is this? It says in verse 3 then shall the Lord go forth and fight against those nations. Let me back up because verse 2 says, Vinnie, I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. That hasn’t happened yet but that will happen at the end of the tribulation period and that will be the battle of Armageddon.
Verse 3 says, at that time, then shall the Lord go forth and fight against and defeat all those nations that come against Jerusalem. And the last phrase says, as when he fought in the day of battle, the day of battle I believe is when God defeated the Egyptian army back there in the book of Genesis. That’s one time when God went to bat for Israel and he destroyed the entire Egyptian army. And by the way, that whole story back there in Egypt was a picture of what would happen in the end times.
Egypt was a picture of the world. The Pharaoh was a picture of the Antichrist. We find Israel a picture of God’s people and we find the conflict there with Satan against God occurs and we find that the Lord defeats the armies there in the Red Sea and of course we find that at the second coming Christ will defeat the armies of the world at the battle of Armageddon. We also have another caller not on the air right now, Nancy called in from Tampa and she As you said, could I please explain Ephesians 526?
Ephesians 526, I’m turning there right now, Nancy. And if you want to call in, by the way right now, the lines are open, you can dial in and get right through. 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We now have Nancy who’s called in and asked about Ephesians 526. It says that he might sanctify it and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. What it’s saying here is that the church, the bride of Christ, the body of Christ is here called the body of Christ that he sanctifies and cleanses us by the washing of water by the Word.
In other words, the Word of God is like water. Water is a wonderful solvent. If you pour water on your hands, you obviously will cause some of the dirt on your skin to become solvent and washed away by the water. And the Word of God is like that. It has a cleansing effect. It says, back in Psalm 119, how shall a young man cleanse his way? And the answer is given in verse 10 of Psalm 119 by taking heed according to thy word.
As we read God’s word, it has a cleansing effect. Our minds are cleaned up. I tell people if they’re taking in other information outside the Bible, they’re getting brain-dertied. But when you take in the Bible, you’re becoming brainwashed. In other words, your mind is cleansed. Your mind is renewed, the Bible says. And so the way that our brains are somewhat washed, like you would wash your hands with water, when we take in the Word of God, then our brains are washed or cleansed.
And I believe Nancy, that’s what it’s talking about. Thank you for that call. The phone number 1-800-576-3771, and we invite you to give us a call here on Bibleline today. Lots of good questions. And of course, if you would like to help Bibleline stay on the air, your gift would be greatly appreciated. We are Our listeners supported. We do not have a piggy bank. We do not have a reserve account. We count on every week, gone to supply through you, our partners on Bible and our radio listeners.
God bless each and every one of you. Because without you, we couldn’t be on the air. But amazingly, amazingly, it is a miracle. God supplies and every week it’s a different way. We want to thank you in advance. We’ll talk more about that and maybe you’d like to give a gift to Bible on today. We have a special shirt that we like to give out to the one who gives the largest gift this week toward Bibleline. I’m Dr. Englund’s Shurman’s Break Time.
We’ll be right back. Don’t change that dial. We’ll answer your question right after the short break. Stay tuned right here to Bibleline. A Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and it’s great to be with you. Thanks for tuning in to the Bible and broadcast and we look forward to being with you every day. If you ever get a chance, come by and see us when you come to Tampa or if you live in the area, you’re welcome to do that.
We’re about ready to finish up our series on 2nd Peter and we’ll do class 9 and 10 tomorrow night and then the whole series will be available. available so you can call in and order this series on CD or DVD and we’ll start production and get them all ready to go on Wednesday of this week. But tomorrow night will be the last and final classes and if you’re in the area you’re welcome to come out and sit and be my guest for the second Peter classes.
Already finished first Peter and before that we did the Gospel of John and we’ve got about 40 different series that are available on DVD or CD and I think you’ll enjoy them all. We are really excited about the fact that we have our worship services on the Internet available for you to watch. You can go and click on the camera on the homepage of our website BibleLineMinistries.org and you’ll get the archives and you’ll get this past Sunday’s message that’s yesterday and all of the messages for the past year.
you could watch them and hear them wherever you might be on the planet Earth. When I was in Jerusalem just two months ago, I was able to pull up my own worship service in Jerusalem and watch it. And it was just fascinating to be on the other side of the world and just go to my website and be able to pull it up just like anybody else would. And that’s truly exciting. And a year ago when we were in Israel, we met a wonderful group of Nigerians that were Christian.
I invited them to the hotel to my Bible study that evening in Israel. And about 40 of them came and one of them stood up and said, he listened to Bible and radio in Nigeria. And I thought, isn’t that incredible? Wow. Here I traveled from the U.S. to Jerusalem. And here they traveled from Nigeria to Israel and we are matching up here. Those that were listening to Bible and from Nigeria, we’ve got to meet them right here in Israel.
Exciting stuff is happening and we’re looking forward now to broadcasting our TV programs into Turkey. We’re on the way to have that happen and pray for that as it will go by satellite over not not just Turkey, but other Middle Eastern countries, but primarily Turkey is the country that will be targeted to going to translate my programs into Turkish and will be sending them down off the satellite over that area. Well, we’re going to go back and rejoin the stations that have been on break and do a second half hour Bibleline and we want you to stay tuned.
Don’t go away and we’ll do the second half hour right now. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break. And it’s great to be with you here on Bibleline. I want to thank all of you who are part of the Bibleline family. Those who vote to be with us. to keep the program on the air each and every day by your prayers and by your support of the program.
We’ve mentioned a lot of our resources and we have a bunch of things in our Resource Center. We have the book Every Prophecy of the Bible by John Walford. That’s about a 800-page book. Incredible. We have that wonderful book on evangelism that tells you what to say, how to say it, how to close it down, how to leave that person to Christ. And we have a wonderful book on the Middle East that’ll bring up the speed as far as what’s happening.
And that’s called Armageddon Oil and the Middle East Crysis by John Wahlberg. And we invite you to maybe get that book. Books that will help answer your questions and especially on the new versions that are coming out. We have this one called New Age Bible Versions. We have a super assortment here. assortment here and your gift would be helpful if you’d like to give a gift or any of the things you order will help Bible ends down the air.
So consider giving a gift to Bible ends. We’re now going to go to the foreign ones again. We have Brad on the line. Brad welcome to Bible ends. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. I see you have a question about suicide. I wanted to ask is there any place in the Bible where they specifically talk about suicide. know that um… it says that shall not kill of course on where that but considering the apparent position of the catholic church i’m interested in knowing if how how much they are on the money on this one is there really a specific verse in the bible it has to do with suicide at that specifically refers to the site or is it just the of al-shah not kill part that they are referring to That’s not even it at all.
They have drawn the wrong conclusion. Judas betrayed Christ and then he committed suicide and Judas went to help. They wrongly assumed that Judas went to help because he committed suicide. The reason why Judas went to help is because he never was a believer. In John 664, Jesus said about Judas, he says he knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him, speaking about Judas. And so Judas went to hell because of never trusting Christ and that is the unpardonable sin The only sin that will cause you to go to hell is unbelief or rejection of Christ And the Roman Catholic Church made a wrong conclusion based on the fact that Judas went to hell and concluded it was because his lack that last act on the earth was suicide and that that was the unpardonable sin They’re just totally wrong and
There’s nowhere in the Bible that it says that at all it says once you get saved you’re stuck You have to go to heaven when you like it or not. In John 637 Christ said, I will in no wise or in no case or under no circumstances ever cast out one who has come to me. So if you’ve come to Christ and trusted him as your savior, he will not cast you out for any reason, including suicide. You are saved forever.
And there are people that have committed suicide that went to heaven, Saul in the Old Testament committed suicide, and we know he went to heaven. heaven. So suicide does not send anybody to hell. It is the rejection of Christ who paid for every imaginable sin that anyone might ever commit. Jesus said himself in Mark’s Gospel 3 verse 28, all manner of sin and all manner of blasphemies shall be forgiven under the sons of men. And of course that’s because he died for every sin that you’d ever commit.
the one sentence unpardonable is the rejection of Christ. Well, I think you’re Dr. Wencester. Thank you, Brad. That was Brad and Tampa. And so suicide is not the unpardonable sin. Off the air, Benjamin calls in from Clearwater and he is married a second time. Is this adultery? He and his former wife, each of married others, spouses, is this considered by God adultery? Obviously, if you have a marriage and it is separated by divorce, And then the other partners remarry.
The Bible says you are not to go back and remarry that first partner again. And Deuteronomy chapter 23 tells us that would be abomination. And also, if a person is divorced because of adultery, then they are absolutely free to remarry. And Jesus makes that clear in Matthew chapter 19. but Deuteronomy talks about divorce is allowed for sexual uncleanness which would include not only adultery, it would include bestiality, incest, and any type of homosexuality. All of those things would be grounds for biblical divorce.
and it says in verse 2 of Deuteronomy 24, I said the wrong chapter, Deuteronomy 24 verse 2 says when she is departed out of his houseiberal she may go and be married and become another man’s wife. And then if that latter husband hate her and write her a bill of divorce and gives it into her hand and sends her out of his house or the latter husband die which had taken her to be his wife, her former husband, the first one, which sent her away may not take her again to be his wife, because it says that is a balmination before the Lord.
Hopefully that answers the question for you, Benjamin, and if not, call back and we’ll try to tackle it again. This is Bible line. I’m Dr. Englund’s room. It’s great to be with you. Pray for us. We want to expand. We need your help to be able to do that, because we will have to pay for that time and we trust that God will help us pay that bill until we have an audience in those areas that will say, I like that program.
I want to be a Bible and partner. I will support that program from those various areas that we want to go to. So we’re trusting that God will supply, and I hope that you’ll pray about being a part of that. You can send your gift to Bible line at 4811 George Road in Tampa, Florida. The zip code is 33634. That’s Bibleline at 4811 George Road in Tampa, Florida. The zip code being 33634. And by the way, you can also give a direct gift by credit card over the phone or you can order resources and any of those will help us a little bit too.
We don’t get as much as obviously a direct gift. But we have this wonderful book, Two Babylon’s, it’s just really incredible. You will really profit. We have the book, Understanding Roman Catholicism. We can hardly keep this one in stock. It goes through the Roman Catholic Catechism covering 37 Roman Catholic doctrines that are absolutely essential, beliefs of the Roman Catholic Church, and then compares them with Scripture. You can look it up for yourself. I have the catechism here right on my desk and you compare the catechism quotes that are accurate with the Bible quotes and you make up your mind, you’ll be shocked.
The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. Have the Roman Catholic Insanity Clapedia in front of me and I looked up Ash Wednesday And it says, Ashwensi is a solemn call to penance so that one may enjoy eternal life. Well, penance is works. And guess what? It’s saying that Ashwensi marks a 40 day period where you can do works, fasting prayers, giving up things so that you may earn or enjoy eternal life. Eternal life is a gift, my friend. And the whole idea of Lent is not biblical.
It is something that predates Christianity by thousands of years. And if you get the book, Two Babylon’s that we’ve been talking about, it will trace that origin back for you all the way back to the Tower of Babel and all the way back to Genesis chapter 10 in your Bible. It certainly is not a Christian observance to observe Lent. and yet millions are doing it. And in fact, there might be lint, L-I-N-T in your Bible, but there is no lint, there is no ashwensie, there’s no good Friday.
So many things that were taught are really not from the Bible. You have to go back to the Bible to check it out. Same thing is true when we learn about angels. There are no female angels in the Bible. All angels are male. There are no baby angels. Yet go to the mall and try to buy a replica of an angel and they’re all gonna be what female? Well, whatever those creatures are, they’re not angels because there is no such thing as a female angel.
And when you go to your Bible and compare what is taking place in the real world around you, you have to ask. Wow, what is real? What is not? That happened to me on the doctrine of salvation. I was raised in a Protestant church that taught works for salvation. And when I saw the Bible teach that you’re saved not by works, that it is not of ourselves, that it is God’s gift, I said to myself, somebody’s wrong. And I really had to make a choice.
Is my church right and the Bible wrong? Or is the Bible right and my church wrong? And I had to choose the Bible. all we have Scott from Saint Pete and we’re going to go to Scott and He is in Saint Petersburg. Welcome to Bibleline Hey, they Hank. Yes, sir. Hey, how you going? All right. I had a question on the battle of Mars Hill I was trying to figure out where where’s that in Scripture. I Tell me about the battle of our Mars Hill.
I haven’t heard of it. I guess it’s I may be wrong, but I’ve heard it was where David fought. Well, I’m not familiar with that. Maybe I’m not getting the correct name, but no, I don’t know anything about it. Right. Okay. Are you reading something extra difficult? Because, you know, today we’re being assaulted by books that are non-canonical, that do not belong in the Bible and their Christian fiction or actually false writings. We have a whole group of writings that are ancient called the pseudopigrapher.
That’s a big word but it means false writings and people are beginning to go to the bookstores and their challenge to get the so-called lost books of the Bible. These books were never accepted the scripture. Don’t belong in scripture and they just have a lot of things that are untrue in them. And obviously this may be where that’s coming from. I don’t know of anything like that in the scripture. Okay. I just heard it was a place and I didn’t know if that was a place.
Now, Mars Hill is where Paul preached to the Corinthians in the book of Acts. It talks about Paul going to there and talking to them about the unknown God and preaching Christ. Mars Hill is in Athens and it’s a part of the Acropolis, but David never went to Greece. So it certainly had nothing to do with King David. But Paul went there and preached and of course they rejected his teaching and they said, we’ll hear from you another day, Paul, goodbye.
And they didn’t finish letting him preach there on Mars Hill. That’s in the book of Acts. That’s in the book of Acts, chapter 17. Oh, okay. Thank you. All right. And so I never heard of a battle with King David and Mars Hill. Mars Hill, the only one I know of, and I’ve been there many times. I’ve been to Greece many times. I’ve been to Israel 13 times and all over the Middle East. And Mars Hill, the one that I climbed up on was where Paul spoke to the Athenians about Christ, and they didn’t even let him finish his message, and they mocked and laughed and walked away.
Well, we have Jacqueline in St. Pete, and she says, Old Testament. What is it written in? The Old Testament is written in Hebrew. Now lately, because of the passion, we find in the time of Christ that they had Christ speaking in the movie in Aramaic, which is a dialect of Hebrew. But this is not the Arabic language. No, not at all. Not Arabic. It’s Aramaic. And Aramaic is a dialect of Hebrew. So the Old Testament written in the Hebrew language, and Jacqueline is not on the air, and she’s from St.
Pete. Thanks for the question. Old Testament written in Hebrew, and in the Passion in Christ is speaking in a dialect of Hebrew, which is called Aramaic, not the same as Arabic. All right, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, and this is Bible. And if you don’t have a church home, come by and see us this Sunday. We worship at 10 30 on Sunday mornings. We have a wonderful time. We had seven people trust the Lord last Sunday, all adults, and what an exciting thing.
And we’re always seeing people get saved. If you have an unsafe relative, He cooks them to get into your car with you and bring them over here. At least they’ll hear a clear presentation of the gospel and there’s a mighty good chance that they will trust Jesus as their Savior. I believe that our effectiveness in leading souls to Christ is directly related to our clarity on the subject. If you’re unclear, then you will certainly have a low success rate.
If you’re clear in your presentation, they understand what they must do to be saved, that it’s a gift, that it’s none of works, that it’s by faith. You’re going to have people trust the Lord. We have a caller in Bradenton, Florida, and his name is Robert and Robert. Welcome to Bible Inn. Good afternoon, Dr. Lestram. My question, I’ll get right to it and then I’ll hang up so I can hear it. uh… i heard the statement uh… that you made that when the rapture occurs the current president of the united states would be uh…
is the and a crisis right could you explain that as to where you got that thesis i’ll be happy to thank you very much all right that was robert and daniel chapter seven verse eight talks about ten horns which represent ten nations of the Roman Empire that would come together in the last days, and I believe we’ve seen that take place in the European common market. Then it says I saw another horn, another horn. Now somewhere about first or second grade, I learned if I had ten apples, and then I had another apple, I would have a total of eleven apples.
I don’t know why Bible teachers don’t seem to get that picture. I’ve read and studied prophecy for so many years now and they keep reading that verse or commenting on it in the commentaries and they only come up with 10. But if you have 10 plus another you have 11. There’s an 11th nation. It describes it as a little horn which tells me it’s a young nation in comparison to the others. And it is one that comes up out of the 10 which means to me it’s spawned by the 10.
The only nation in the world that has come out of Europe has been spawned by Europe that is younger than and stronger than Europe is the United States of America. The leader of that country and that verse is described as being the Antichrist. I believe the Antichrist will be the head of this country when it takes place. We are the 11th nation, younger than, more powerful than. We’re only 200 years old plus a little bit and yet the nations of Europe are over 2000 years old.
that young upstart nation that has been spawned by Europe, that is the most powerful nation in the world today. The leader of that nation is also called the little horn and he is so identified with the 11th nation that he is his spokesperson and is also called the little horn. Then you have the strategy of what will happen after the rapture, the anacryse being the supreme commander of our armed forces will apparently order the takeover of three European countries.
It says three will be plucked up by the roots. That takes, that tells me that we’re right there on the spot and guess what? Where’s our military? You can probably figure out which three countries in Europe where our military is, which three countries are going to go down. The rest of them will they’ll be taken down in a heartbeat. We are their military and then the rest will just give up the Antichrist will control Europe and America and then those countries will all control the middle core countries of the Middle East.
We’re on the march. It’s about to take place. And guess what? If the rapture were to happen this September and if it happens whatever year it happens, it’ll probably happen on the Feast of Trumpets. And that’ll be in September. If that happens, I guarantee it, there’ll be no elections this November. Also, if Bush is a Christian and he’s raptured out, then within hours I’m sure Cheney would be sworn in as the new president of the United States. If Bush and Cheney are Christians, then the Speaker of the House would be sworn in as the new president of the United States.
Now what I’m saying here is it could happen quickly. It could be a shift in power from the present president to another in a heartbeat when the Rapture takes place. And if the Rapture happened, there would be, I believe, on our homeland defense system, we’d go to condition red. You know, we’ve been right next to red several times. I think we’ve been conditioned to go to red. You know what happens under condition red? Martial law. Curfew, if you go out after curfew, you’ll be shot as a terrorist.
Government will take control of every individual in this country. You’ll have no rights. The President will have absolute dictatorial powers. I believe when it happens, it’ll never be reversed. And all of a sudden, we have a dictator and he’s going to take over Europe. He’ll take over the Middle East. And that will be the man the Bible describes as the little horn. Thank you for the call. question and we are looking forward to hearing from you. Please give us a call.
1-800-576-3771. Alright, we have Kay in Sarasota and Kay, welcome to Bibleline Today. Hi, Dr. Hank. I just want to tell you how much I love your program. I listened to it continually. Thank you. You made two statements that kind of drew me into my Bible and made me study, so that was good, although I do it faithfully anyways. You made this statement about the eating of meat and I think it was 1 Timothy 4-3, committing to abstain from meat and then you talked about the doctrine of demons, you know, and seventh day Adventist and things like that.
So I looked at that word meet because I thought I have so many wonderful Christian vegetarian friends. There’s nothing wrong with being a vegetarian but when a religious system commands that you cannot eat meat that is what God what God forbids. So if I choose on my own not to eat me that’s perfectly fine but if somebody tells me and you know obviously there have been Most, many of the cults, especially the satanic ones, all command their constituents not to eat meat at all.
Well, the actual word for meat there is broma, B-R-O-M-A from the Aramaic. No, it’s from the Greek. Greek. From the Greek, excuse me. And it means a ceremonial article or a ceremonial food. food and then as I read further what the gist of it is and there were many other scriptures with that same word meaning that if you’re eating this meat as almost a work for salvation it’s actually you’re doing this like for the Old Testament times like you’re working out your salvation then you know that’s a doctrine of demons there’s no doubt about it because you can’t work for you absolutely and the Roman Catholic Church has taught that you can’t eat meat on Friday and it It was a part of your salvation.
It was a mortal sin to do that. Yeah, it’s ridiculous. But again, you know, and then I thought, well, when it talks about not eating flesh, Paul says in Romans 14, 21, it is good neither to eat flesh nor to drink wine whereby the brethren stumbleth or as offended or as made weak. And I had many people who beat cancer and other health issues by just eliminating meat in their diet and had nothing to do with their salvation. So I just wanted my vegetarian friends to realize that they’re not following the doctor, the demons, if they choose not to eat meat.
That’s true. Some people just, they think of that favorite pet of theirs when they think about eating meat and they just can’t handle it. Right. Yeah. The other thing is you had mentioned about the word belly, about Jonah, and the word was shield. So I again went back into my Bible and Nowhere was the word belly translated into shield no no it isn’t I said the word belly There are two words belly the word in verse one of Jonah 2 is the word Abdomom and the word in the second verse means a hollow place which is the place where she is the hollow place in the heart of the earth So shield doesn’t mean hollow place but the word belly in verse two does mean hall of place it is the hall of place of shield and that’s where jonah went which is in the heart of the earth
and jonah died to get there but the king James actually says the belly of hell that’s correct the use of the word hell right but it’s a mistranslation the the Hebrew word the Hebrew word translated hell there is shield right and the word belly there is a hollow no no no no no oh she’ll is translated hell That’s great. Okay. Okay. Thank you. You’re very welcome and God bless you know Jonah Chapter 2 there are two words for belly the word belly in the first verse is Abdomom and that’s when Jonah was first swallowed and he was in the abdomen of the fish He’s praying while he’s still alive and then he dies and then next he’s praying out of the belly which the Hebrew word is a word that means hollow place and it’s the hollow place of of Sheol in the heart of the earth where the dead would go.
And so Jonah died and went down to the bottoms of the mountains, and then he was brought up from the dead to live again. Alright, we’re going to go to Jim. Jim didn’t really stay on the air. Jim calls him from Tampa. He asked about Romans 16 about women and again in service in Christian things. And obviously women can be used in a number of roles. But we don’t have any women apostles and women are not to be preachers and in 1 Timothy, it tells us in verse 12 of chapter 2, I suffer not or allow not a woman to teach.
And really you will not find any place in the Bible where it gives permission for women to teach the word of God. Now it does say over in Titus that women can teach the younger women and it says what? To be sober, to be chased, to love their husbands, to care for their children and so on and so on. But actually there’s no verse that says for women to teach the word of God, men were to do that and it says here I allow not a woman to teach and that talks about the word of God nor usurp authority over the men but to be in silence.
women were not to be in the spiritual role of Pastor, Elder, or teacher. We’re out of time and we have to run. We’ll be back tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. I hope you’ll join me. So we’re blessed. We are hearing these stories all the time of God using Bible and to reach the lost and to give assurance and courage to believers, to open their mouths and speak up for Christ and to know that there are answers and we don’t have to apologize for the Bible.
