Romans 11-6 is an incredible verse. Let me read it. It sounds like a tongue twister, but once you understand it, it helps you understand the whole message of salvation from God’s Word. It says in Romans 11, 6, if by grace, then is it no more of works, otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace, otherwise work is no more work. What did I just say? Sounds like a confusing verse, doesn’t it?
What it’s saying here is that grace and works are the extreme opposite of one another, the exact opposite of one another. saying here, if you’re saved by grace, then you’re not saved by works. Otherwise, grace by definition isn’t grace. Grace actually means the absence of any human work. The second part of the verse says, but if it be of works, if you attempt to be saved by works, then it is no more grace. How would you like to stand before God having no grace?
Well, if you did, you’d go to hell. And we find that it says here, if you are trying to be saved by works, you’re not going to be saved by grace, otherwise by definition work isn’t work. So if you attempt to add any works to salvation, the Bible says you’ll have no grace, no mercy, and you’ll wind up in an eternity in hell. What is interesting here is that all it takes according to this verse is just a little bit of works added to grace and you no longer have grace.
So if a person is trusting in Christ plus anything, the answer, the result is nothing. No salvation. You will not make heaven. In other words, any work that you contribute to grace as a means of your salvation. He said, cancels out grace. And therefore you’ll stand before God in your works and you’ll not be lost. It’s like this. If I were to offer you a glass of pure distilled water, you would not hesitate to drink it. But if I were to add just a little bit of poison to that glass, would you drink it?
No. Because the whole glass of pure water would now be poisoned water and you’d die if you would drink it. And so if I had a glass of the pure grace of God and I were to sprinkle just a little bit of works into that glass of grace, guess what? I would poison the whole glass. You’d no longer have grace. You’d have works. And you would not be saved. You would not go to heaven. And guess what? Most of those who claim to be Christian today are trusting in their works.
One of those is the whole celebration of Lent. I have my Catholic Encyclopedia right in front of me. It says here about Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent. It says Lent is a solemn call to penance, which is works, so that one may enjoy eternal life. Basically your sprinkling works into the mix as a means of your salvation. fast and pray and give up things as a means of penance which is a way of paying for salvation.
And according to the Roman Catholic Encyclopedia, this is a way that you may enjoy eternal life later. You’re earning your salvation by your works. Obviously, this is not a good thing. I’m so glad I discovered that salvation was a gift. It was by faith. It was by grace. It was the absence of works, but what Christ did for me at the cross was the work that I was to trust in. And when I trusted in the finished work of Christ at Calvary, God saved me.
That was the best news I ever heard in my life. You can work, work, work, work, work, and wind up in hell. But when you come to the place, according to Romans 11, 6, where you recognize that your works will not save you, cannot save you, and simply trust in God’s grace. His mercy offered through Christ’s death at Calvary that God saves you and saves you eternally. Romans 4-5 says to the one who does not work, but believeth on Christ who justifies the ungodly, his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness.
What a verse. It says to him who does not work, would believe. Dr. Ermardahan, one of my mentors as a young believer, made the statement that God will not save a man who is trying to be saved, but God will only save a man who is trusting to be saved. As long as you are trying to be saved, God cannot save you. You have to come to the place where you recognize you cannot save yourself and stop trying and simply trust in the finished work of Christ.
The dying thief is a classic example. He could do nothing, and as he was dying, recognizing he could do nothing, he simply trusted in Christ, and Jesus said to him, today thou shalt be with me in paradise. What good news that is? That is why it’s called the gospel. The gospel is an Anglo-Saxon word, meaning good news, and when you trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, then it is good news. God saves you, He saves you eternally, He will not cast you out, He will not lose you, He will be saved forever.
Alright, we’re going to go to the phone lines and we’re going to take Robert in Tampa. Robert, welcome to Bible on. Hey Hank, is my second time calling you the first time I talked to you was on this Saturday, the last Saturday I think it was. Okay, so you weren’t on the air but the first time you’re on the air my question is that you know i think that’s what you call the class in the c and well he was saying you know christians like to pick and choose what they want to believe is right or wrong in school in like you know a lot like they say almost sexualities wrong but they won’t go ahead in you know like cut their fears and stuff like that with a certain litigious so it’s like they say we like to pick and choose so how can i
explain that we don’t have to follow those laws anymore Well, there are principles that we should follow from the Old Testament laws, but we are, the law from Mount Sinai was given to Israel, and it was given to them to make their nation unique. And so we as Gentiles are really not under that Old Testament law, except that the law condemn the whole human race, and we all therefore need a Savior, because if we have broken the law and are condemned by it, we need a Savior to redeem us from the penalty the law which is ultimately hell.
But the Bible is very clear. There are certain things that are wrong. It says back in Leviticus about homosexuality, they’ll shut not lie with mankind as with woman kind. It is abomination. So these things are just very clearly spelled out and there’s not, you know, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. But there are ceremonial laws. We no longer offer the sacrifices. So it’s not like we pick and choose. The sacrifices could only be offered in Jerusalem at the temple there.
That’s why since AD 70, the Jewish people have not offered the sacrifices, and they have not been able to do numerous other things that are based upon their having their temple. So the temple has to be rebuilt, and we believe that after the rapture it will be. But certainly for the New Testament believer, we are not under the law because Christ fulfilled fill the law as he kept the law. He is God who took on flesh. He was sinless and therefore he could substitute himself in our place and pay our sin debt so that we could be saved.
But obviously they are not rightly dividing the word. It’s not like picking and choosing. For example, if we read Genesis 6, should we all go down to Home Depot and get lumber and start building an ark? And the answer is no, because the flood will never be repeated and that era ended with the flood and God promised he would never again flood the earth as he did in the days of Noah and that’s clear as we see from the scriptures and I think we lost our call there but there is no more flood going to come up on the earth and so we don’t have to worry about running out and building an art and but the Bible is very clear that there have been numerous different ages each one of them have ended in failure and that we are right now in the age of grace, which is an age where
God has turned to the Gentiles to be His witnesses, and this age began at Pentecost, we’ll end at the Rapture, and obviously under this age we are not under the law, we’re not obligated to keep the Old Testament sacrifices, and we’re not obligated to keep the Old Testament law to observe the Sabbath and so on. Colossians 2 16 says, let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink or in respect of an holy day. So those things have been nailed to the cross and have been taken away and we are not under obligation to observe them today.
But that doesn’t mean we’re to be law breakers or that we’re to murder or steal or cheat or lie or hurt people. Obviously we are under a higher law, the law of love, the Bible says. And it says all the laws fulfilled in that one commandment, douse of love thy neighbor as thyself. And if we did that, we wouldn’t have a problem at all. The phone over here at Bible and there’s 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We invite you to call. I want to thank again all of you who have given the Bibleline and who give.
We need your regular support, we need your regular help. And you can give a direct gift by credit card. You can ask for our address to be sent to you over through the mail. Oh? Yes, I am. Hey dr. Hank. How you doing good? Hey my question was okay First of all I’ve been a Roman Catholic for 44 years I know long problems in the church and some things that one of the things you just had on I was discussing with my sister last night about salvation and she said something about works without or faith without words and I’m thinking, you know… He said, you know, through grace alone that we are saved and we have an argument over this.
He says, well, you have to have good works. He says, well, look, if you accept the Lord Jesus Christ, if you save your chances, or you’re going to do good works. But, you know, I mean, like you said, He finished it on the cross. I mean, if we believe anything else, I think that we’re misguided. I mean, I think good works are great and fantastic. But we don’t do them to become saved, we trust in the finished work of Christ at Calvary in order to save us.
In fact, that’s what we just covered here in Romans 11-6 that I gave in the first part of the program. If you’re saved by grace, then it’s no more of works, it says, in Romans 11-6. But if it be of works, then it’s no more of grace. So if you attempt to be saved by works, you’ll have no mercy from God, and therefore you’ll spend all eternity in hell. You have to trust Christ. Amen, Dr. Hank. Now when Catholic Church, when they went away with the priest being married, what year did that take place?
Do you know was it the mid-century’s or was it the… Well, I’m not sure the exact year when that took place, but we know it’s all of pagan origin. It doesn’t have to anything to do with Christianity. In 1 Timothy 4 and verse 3, it tells us that that is a doctrine of demons to forbid somebody to become married. Now a person can of their choice choose not to be married, but when the church tells you that you cannot be married, which the Catholic Church has done, that is a doctrine of demons.
And look, it’s come around the bottom, hadn’t it? Well, you know, I think that the other Sheryl while Mary had been to become priest. And I think that priest still think that the pope is a holy man and God bless him. I think they got some issues that are, you know, I don’t agree with it. You know, it’s brought up in the Catholic church, but, you know, it’s hard to swallow a lot of these things. Well, we have two books here that would really be helpful to you.
One is called Understanding Roman Catholicism, which is basically the Roman Catholic Catechism compared to the Bible. It’s a wonderful book. We have another one called Two Babylon’s which traces the origin back to Genesis chapter 10 of the priesthood and the monks, the nuns and so on, the mass, the rosary, purgatory, all these doctrines predate Christianity and were wed into Christianity that are not biblical. These two books were really just absolutely amazing. They’re well documented and are well written and I think you’ll really enjoy those as the right giving you a background on the problem i have for democrats that are against that their approach always what what is the approach was catholic and that that’s an oxymoron there you know john kerry’s wife comes out being approached was catholic there’s no such thing what is the catholic church other denominations actually x communicate these people from the church
well they should they really should and you know what their cowards and i hate that we i hate that they It’s a totalitarian regime. It’s the largest Christian denomination. I mean, God bless them. They’re still our Christian brothers and sisters. I think some of the things that it’s not right. I mean, you may sound like a cold. I don’t believe it’s a cold, but some of the things you’re doing, I mean, I really have doubts. Our question is about our doubts.
The world needs a lot of the prayers. Amen. And through Christ Jesus that we’re saying, that’s the only way. That’s the bottom line. Hey, the movie, The Passion was wonderful. It really did a lot to reaffirm like Christianity. Amen. God bless me Lord, gifts and thank God bless you. Thank you now. Take care. All right. And our next caller is not on the air, but called in from the jail here locally and asked if I would explain salvation. Joyce, let me just take a minute to explain salvation to you.
The Bible says, first of all, all of us in the human race are sinners. We’ve all done something wrong. Every one of us have. The Bible says all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God. Number two, Joyce, the Bible says if we paid for that sin, the wages of sin is death, which would ultimately mean we’d be cast into hell, which is called in the Bible, the second death. The first death being the separation of our soul from our body, the second death, the separation of our soul from God in hell forever.
The third point is, Joyce, that we have to be perfect in our heaven because no sin can exist in the presence of God. The fourth point is that our works would never make us perfect enough to be able to enter heaven. So we could work. He was married and he rose again from the dead. The sixth point is, there’s one thing you can do to be saved. That’s the trust that Jesus Christ made that payment at the cross of Calvary for your sins.
and that he was buried and that he rose again from the dead. When you, Joyce, trust Christ as your Savior, as your only hope of heaven, God saves you. The Bible says, Whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish, but have everlasting life. And the seventh point, Joyce, is that from the moment you trust Christ, you possess eternal life forever. God will never lose you. He’ll never cast you out. You can be certain that no matter what happens in your life, your life, Joyce, if you’ve trusted Christ as your only hope of heaven, that you’ll wind up in heaven with the Lord.
And then the next point is if you live for Christ, you can earn rewards in heaven. Our deeds do not determine our destination, but they do determine what happens at destination. For the believer, there are degrees of reward in heaven based upon our works. For the unbeliever, we find that there are degrees of punishment and hell for the unbeliever. So Joyce, I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. If you haven’t, then right where you are, you can whisper this prayer, you can say, God, I’m a sinner.
I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I believe Jesus died for me. I believe He paid my sin debt in full. I believe He was buried. I believe He rose again from the dead. And I trust Jesus Christ right now to save me, to give me the gift of eternal life. And you can be sure, Joyce, as a result of going to heaven. We have Ronnie on the phone line waiting to get on the air. Ronnie, welcome to Bibleline.
I think they’re going to call last night. Well, we were looking for your program last night at 7 o’clock. They had a telephone and they preempted everybody. So we just were not on, but we’ll be on next week. Oh, OK. We had our bibles out there. They were ready to go. Oh, boy. But my wife asked me quite some times, not that I couldn’t answer. And she wanted to know that, yes, when we’re raptured out and Christ comes back, we’re in the New Jerusalem where there’ll be children born again, like there are on earth, you know.
When we’re in the millennium, those who are actually the subjects of the millennium, which are those who get saved in the tribulation period after the rapture, will still be in their mortal bodies and be invited into the thousand year reign. They will have children, their children will have children, and so on and so on and so on. But yet you and I, who are believers this side of the Rapture, who either by death or by being caught up at the Rapture, will be given our new resurrection bodies.
We’ll come back in rural and rain, but we will not have children, and we will help rural and rain, yes, but we will not be in our mortal bodies. We’ll be in our glorified bodies. All right. That’s great. All right. Hey, can you have a great weekend? Y’all take care. to you. Bye bye. That was runny in Tampa. We had Beverly call in from Pinellas Park. She’s not on the air and Beverly says, what about Ecclesiastes chapter 9 verse 5?
What happens after death? Well, in Ecclesiastes it says, the living know that they shall die, but the dead know not anything. And what it means there is that the dead don’t know about things that are happening on the earth. They don’t get up every morning and read the local paper. They don’t get up every morning and turn into the local news. So they don’t get the weather, they don’t get the sports news and the political news and so on and so on.
But and people on the earth will soon forget them and how sad that is, but it’s true. A new dies as time goes along, we seem to forget them. Their memory becomes faint. It says in fact in the universe 5 here in Ecclesiastes the memory of them is forgotten. Sad. But speaking about from earth’s perspective. But the lost, if they’re saved, go to be with the Lord, absent from the body, present with the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5 and 8.
And if they’re lost, they wind up in Hades in a place of flame and torment and eventually. After Christ comes back and rules and reign for a thousand years and after he casts Satan into the everlasting lake of fire, then the lost will be brought up out of Hades, assigned a degree of punishment and held and cast into hell along with Satan and his angels. Thank you Beverly, I hope that answered your question and we thank you for calling the show.
So we’ve had quite a few callers today. If you’d like to call in you may call at 1-800-576-3771. We’re very excited about coming up on the Crucifixion Week. Second Peter’s a powerful book, one that Satan hates and all liberal theologians would like to rip out of the Bible and throw away. It is extremely powerful and Satan doesn’t like Second Peter. So possibly 30 to 50 people a day are getting saved just by going to the website and in that wonderful. We praise the Lord and maybe you’d like to have a part in helping Bible on because I believe that whatever fruit we bear for Christ will be yours as well as you give to support Bible on. You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright we’re back for that break. This is Bibleline. Great to be with you. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. we are anxious to get your calls and we do have robert patiently waiting in so robert in tanta you’re welcome to the bible and program and thought about the handker phone got disconnected i knew something happened hehaha yeah i was just if um…
if you want to continue and i just listen to you and also on all if you want to i want to go to the question actually that you know people kept it like to say is that the bible system is also control just to control the masses I don’t know if you want to touch on that if you can. Alright The Bible is in to attack today and obviously if you’re in a classroom at the junior college many times those college classes are our Bible about bashing type classes and they really Get away with saying almost anything they want with hardly anybody there to stand up for the Bible’s defense, but actually Thank you by the way for that call we’re gonna let Robert get off the line and he’s gonna just listen.
But, you know, God is the author of the Bible. And if you understand that, it makes all the difference in all the world. And obviously in the Bible, you see that life is special. And God, from the very beginning, tells us that we’re not to take another human life. Capital punishment is instituted in Genesis, chapter nine. And God has instituted the institution of marriage in Genesis chapter two. He created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, and you see the very principles of God’s word being undermined today in a tremendous way, where we have supposedly same-sex marriages advocated and other homosexual-type relationships to be given approval of special rights and so on.
All of this is an attack upon God’s word. One of these days, soon I believe, Christ is gonna come back and judge this earth. And boy, won’t they be in for a surprise then? One day the Bible says everybody will be judged according to this book. And if they have not received Christ as a savior, they’re gonna be cast into an eternal link of fire forever and ever and ever. So someone’s unbelief does not put out the flames of hell.
Hell is going to be real, whether it’s believed in or not. You might say that I don’t believe in gravity and go up on a tall building and leap off the top. That won’t change the fact that you’re going to fall. And it won’t be the fall that kills you. It’s that sudden stop on the concrete sidewalk down below that will ruin your whole day. But God’s word is just the same way. And we find that his word is accurate.
It’s trustworthy. God says, I know you’re hard to be convinced. And here’s what I love to share with him, Robert. It says in Isaiah 48 verse four, God says, I know you’re obstinate. I know your brass head, I know your iron neck. I know you’re hard to be convinced. And so God says, I’m gonna tell you things before they come to pass, things that you did not know before you knew them, so that you could know that the Bible is my word.
And God does that. He tells us the earth is round. Thousands of years ago, in Isaiah 40, 22, tells us the earth is suspended in space upon nothing in Job 26, 7. Tells us that there’s a void in the north where there are no stars, Job 26, 7, 35, 100 years ago. tells us that God created the universe out of His energy, Jeremiah 10-12. The concept that Einstein came along with 3,000 years later, and so on and so on and so on.
Hundreds of scientific facts are given in the Bible, which were really contrary to the belief system of that day and yet accurate, letting us know that God had to be the author of the Bible. And the same is true in the area of human behavior and morality. God determined what was right and what was wrong. And so it’s not our opinion. It’s what God says. One day, men will find out that they were wrong if they disagree with God’s Word.
And unfortunately, if they reject Christ and they die, they’ll spend all eternity in hell. If a person’s an unbeliever upon death, they’ll become a believer, but it’ll be too late. And I wouldn’t want to trade places with them at all. We’re going to go to Leon in Tampa, a first-time caller, Welcome to Bibleline hello. How you doing? Good, how are you doing? Oh, I’m doing all right. I can do better. I guess okay. I believe we all could I guess I Have a question and that is It’s like paralyzing my mind and thought and that is the the the Pastor who was the Methodist creature a pastor of a church a lady a woman who fold be spiritually with God and and is involved with the same sex woman and married this person.
You know who I’m talking about? Absolutely. She was brought to a church trial. The new God, or then at the same token, split in the church. Just like an atomic bomb, just hit the church and just blew everything up. I know it. And what has happened is exactly what has been prophesied. And that is, in the last days, 2 Timothy chapter 4 verses 3 and 4 said they would not endure sound doctrine. They would like to have their ears tickled and pleased.
And so they would turn away their ears from the truth. That’s God’s word and be turned unto fables and into lies. And that’s exactly what’s happening in the church today. It’s a clear sign that Christ’s return is near. And that God cannot endure this world going much longer in the direction it’s going. We’re going toward a godless society and an immoral society. And God is saying, I’m about ready to bring judgment on this earth and first he’ll rapture the believers out and then there’ll be seven years of tribulation God being patient and trying to get the attention of people to come to know the Lord during that time But if they don’t trust the Lord by the time those seven years are up Christ will come back and destroy every unbeliever on the face of the earth So I think we’re getting very close to that
the people that that goes to church and And then they believe in the word trying to believe me trying to get the teacher and a doctrine of the word By the leader hurt and then at the same time that kills everything though It paralyzed they minded they don’t long want to believe in anything no more well. You’re absolutely right and and the method of church has been very liberal for quite a long time and This is the result of rejection of the Bible being inspired and fallible word of God unless we take this book to be God’s word and as churches, the churches just, as you say, they’re just falling apart today.
As far as their belief system is just gone, it eroded confidence in the churches being lost. As you see what’s happened in the Catholic Church and in many other churches, people are just saying, forget the Church. I mean, we’re more moral than they are sometimes, and that’s a tragic thing to see happen. but you know what gets me to is especially what uh… the lot of ministers that be on television and they have a great congregation and it seems like a lot of this for money itself but also uh…
i think uh… revelation mean to unveil to uncover and soon later they’re going to be caught up anyway but what gets me though is that the people that’s trying to know god and it is killing it well i agree with you lian we’re living in the last days and this is obviously evidence that we are or tell you it look like it get no matter where you go down with all and then what gets me to have one more and i’ll be off the air all right and that is could be a Muslim faith where i keep hearing all his elijah mohammed on he just a man oh sure of course and any any’s a murder you know i mean it’s all believe in him now i mean sometimes you want to know how dumb can you get but you know some people are so confused and so messed up
they believe anything as long as it evaluate them themselves and of course money was a world you need money but along up it’s a blood it was a blind man that we’ve studied his name was brother white i never forget and uh… the he always used to tell me that uh… you know always stay in the rim of the word of god never leave it It’s good from time to time to step out, but it’s best to stay in the word.
That way you would know for yourself. God, I believe want us to know him for himself. And what we do there and Christ, the 33 years that Christ was on this earth, you would seem to think that even though he had, and he really did catch it, but then at the same token, what really gets me, what really started to believe with me when he said, if you don’t believe me, then look at my work. you saw me heal with sick you saw me read that he did all this so they couldn’t even have them but i think basically what it was they would just jealous of them absolutely the balsas who were filled with envy it was and how pre-says this would get me high pre-says and people that pulled me scholars in the word he just shown them the death that’s right well leon thank you for your call you’re absolutely right on target
okay thank you all right that was leon in Tampa if you’d like to call you’re welcome to dial 1-800 576-3771 and we invite you to give us a call. So if you would call us, we’ll try to… Take your question. We had Jim Colin from Bradenton. He’s not on the air. He left this question a moment ago. He said, what about Cain and Abel? Why isn’t Cain listed in Adam’s genealogy? Because Cain was not in the line through whom the Messiah would come.
If you read the genealogy in the book of Genesis and also then over in Gospel of Luke that is Christ’s genealogy, you’ll find it goes from Adam to Seth. On down through Noah and then through Abraham and then through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and on down through the tribe of Judah and so on. Cain was not in that line. He was a descendant of Adam, but of all of Cain’s descendants died in the flood. So I hope that helps you a little bit.
The genealogy is really one of Christ and shows you the line through whom the Messiah would come from the earliest pages of Genesis. have hosey in st pittsburgh and hosey welcome to bible on hello i think i’ll go and that’s good he just wanted to make a quick comment uh… you know a lot of conservatives uh… well i’ll have a comment and the question but you know how a lot of conservatives uh… in california vote for honor sports nager i don’t know if you heard about that yet go ahead yum he’s a governor yeah okay the governor yeah well you know i was listening on j-lanta the other night that i’d come home late for a particular point in came home late anyway make a lot to a short he was on there and he was asked about homosexual marriage and he said he didn’t
care one way or the other and uh… i i i i i i’ve shocked because a lot of you know conservative christian uh… voted for him rather than keeping the other mayor anyway i just want to say that at the side note my question for today is uh… in the Bible, does it say something, you know, the gentleman who was asking about the Catholic church and the works and everything else. After an individual is saved, if there’s someone in the Bible that says that the Spirit is the one that influences the good works, it’s not necessarily us wanting to do the good works because before, without the Spirit, the focus was on keeping the Ten Commandments, but with the Spirit, you know, when you receive God’s Holy Spirit that actually is what gives us a new birth and we get new desires, but actually we are to submit ourselves to the
Spirit of God, obedient and choose to make choices that are aligned with God’s will and God’s Word and that of the Holy Spirit. And so it is our choice, no doubt about it, not only to trust Christ to become saved, But after we’re saved to become servants of Christ and earn rewards and be in His will and achieve that which He wants us to accomplish while we’re here. So no doubt about it, we’re to make those kind of choices, but they are definitely our choices.
If we jumped over the next hoop there, we’d be in predestination where God would make all our choices for us, which we don’t believe. Okay, but when we do something, who gets the credit? you know when we do something for god you know upon inspiration of god i e you know help them on the bible says that uh… every man is going to receive his own reward according to his own labor so that’s first grendans three eight and so yes you’re going to credit for everything you did roman a hebrews chapter six first ten says god is not a righteous to forget your work in your labor of love so whatever you do for christ is going to count is going to be rewarded is going to be remembered and uh…
you are definitely get credit for can i make one quick comment or or you have time i will i got several more calls here but if it’s quick okay i just wanted to you know i’ll bring up that uh… you know how the homosexual thing i hear constantly on your show uh… i just want to comment to the audience uh… because i have a medical background that uh… that type of sexual interaction you know homosexual especially between men is one of the most uh…
interaction that you can get involved with from a medical standpoint, the biology side of it. And the reason why is because I’ll give you just one quick example. That part of the body is not made for sexual interaction. And it can be compared, and I’ll say this really quickly, it can be compared to someone taking sandpaper, scraping their hand, opening up a wound, and then sticking their hand that had the open wound. in a food to plant a system or in a toilet uh…
you know that there’s hepatitis is aids you know when you turn the the door knob restaurant or whatever there’s about thousand people who turn that same door knob you go to eat a sandwich You’re ingesting all these diseases. God made the digestive tract to eliminate all these viruses and bacteria through your intestinal tract and one. And when a homosexual has sex that way and they breach the lining of their anal cavity, which by the way has no lubricating factor in it, they put all these viruses right back into their bloodstream.
It’s amazing, huh? It really is. Well, I think you’ve grossed everybody out, but it’s the truth. And these people that practice that ought to wake up and realize that they’re doing something not only contrary to nature, but obviously medically just absolutely the best that they can do for themselves. Wouldn’t you think of somebody who being nuts at day opened the wound and put their hand in a toilet bowl? I would want to… Okay. Well, you take care. Thank you.
All right. all day now. Thank you, Jose. Well, it’s true. I mean, what Joe say spoke is absolutely the truth and you need to be careful. Jim calls in from Tampa and he’s asking about Romans 16 1 was Phoebe Adeekin. Let’s read it. It says in the King James, I commend unto you, Phoebe, our sister, which is a servant of the church, which is that censura. The word servant is the Greek word doulos and it means slave. And every believer is to be a volunteer slave for Christ, choosing to live for Christ.
But no, I do not believe she was a deacon. Deacons were only men, apostles were only men. And some people want to in a modern translations, I know make that jump from servant to deacon, but that’s really not the legitimate jump to make there. We are all to be servants once we trust Christ, and that brings about rewards as we live and serve Christ, but salvation is a gift. Salvation is received by simply trusting Christ, a Savior, but I do not believe that we should have women deacons or apostles or preachers.
I believe that is forbidden in the New Testament. All right, we have some more phones ringing here. We’ll try to get you up on here as quickly as we can. Again, this is the weekend. It’s Friday. If you don’t have a church to attend, please come by and see us on Sunday at Calvary Community Church. We’re located at 4811 George Road. Have some dynamite books here in our resource center. One is called Two Babylons that shows the origin of many of the false teachings of Christianity today all the way back to, of course, Genesis chapter 10, including Lent, L-E-N-T.
There’s no such thing in anybody’s Bible, but this is one of those doctrines that have swept in. And according to the Roman Catholic Encyclopedia, it is a call to penance so that you may enjoy eternal life, which is works for salvation totally wrong. We have the book on the different versions, called New Age Bible Versions that cover about 20 of them, NIV, the NASB, the NKGV, and so on. And some of them do things which really seriously affect major doctrines in the New American Standard in John 647 in the King James that says, He that believeth on me has everlasting life, Christ says.
But in the New American Standard, it simply says, who believes? It doesn’t tell you who to believe in. And that’s a serious flaw to leave out those words on me, where to believe on Christ. Charles Rirey, wonderful writer, author of the Rirey Study Bible has balancing the Christian life. This is with a study guide. This is really a great book for a new believer. He does help you settle the major issues that will be the platform for your growing as a believer.
The book he wrote on the Holy Spirit by Charles Ryrie. Wonderful, wonderful books. These are books that I recommend. We have skill-feel Bibles. We have concordances. We have commentaries that I recommend that don’t skip the difficult passages that will give you answers. And we’ve got tracks that really work that actually lead people to Christ. And amazing how many tracks out there are worthless. I would say 90% of them are worthless. They just mix up the reader and confuse them as to what they must do to be saved.
So it’s a thing that where you can come by and take a look at our resource center and also you can call in and talk to our operators about what you might need. And we would love to be able to help you in your Christian growth. Come out and see us Sunday. I’d love to have you come at 1030 or come to the Sunday School of the Delve Education at 915, introduce yourself. We’re going to talk to Lillian in Tampa and Lillian, welcome to Bibleline.
Good morning, I have last Dr. Hank. Yeah, I had a question on Revelation 16. I’m going to talk about the mark of the beast. I get a daily devotional and I’ve always been scared to die. I said we’re going to be forced to. Well you don’t have to worry about it because if you are a believer now, you’ll go out at the rapture and the mark of the beast will not be instituted until the middle of the tribulation period or three and a half years after we’re gone.
So once the rapture happens but the technology is here and we can see the beginnings of it all of buying and selling by a number. by a number and the ability for them to put a chip in your hand that will allow you to be scanned and do your buying and selling. But right now you don’t have to worry a thing. We’re leaving it the Rapture and the people left here after the Rapture during the tribulation. Those that are left behind will have to deal with that.
And that’s what I thought, you know, what we’ve used because so you know, you don’t think you’ll see it anytime soon because you know. Well, we’re seeing the beginnings of it. the actual mark as the Bible describes it will be the false prophet commanding people to receive the mark of the beast and that’ll be three and a half years into the tribulation period okay well that’s a great comfort you can go to sleep and not worry about it yeah that was in the back of my mind because I didn’t you know I didn’t know you know I said I don’t want to tip on you know I was supposed to refuse it you know and let him kill her we supposed to take it but you won’t even have to worry about that if you’re believer Lillian you’re gonna go right up with the Rapture with all the rest and we’ll miss that.
Yeah, that’s awesome. I hope a lot of good people don’t have to go through that hopefully. Well, the more we get saved this side of the Rapture, the more they go up with us and the less that are left behind. Yeah. Okay. All right. Thank you now. That was Lillian and Tampa. If you’re wanting to call it and you may call 1-800-576-3771. And we would love to hear from you. By the way, the verse that she was referring to is Revelation chapter 13 verse 16 where he causes all both small and great rich and poor free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads and that mark probably will be some kind of a chip.
They have one now the size of a grain of rice that they can slip under your skin with a hyperdermuc needle and it will allow them to locate you by the GPS, global positioning satellites, it will allow them to know of your body vital signs like your temperature, your blood pressure and your pulse, sending that information out to monitoring stations. Also allow your credit history, your medical history, everything else to be recorded on that chip and also it will allow you to do your monetary transactions and you’ll be scanned when you go through the store and your account will be debited.
We’re going to Clearwater. We’re going to talk to Dwight in Clearwater. Yes, sir. Good morning Hank. Good morning. How are you doing? All right. Got a couple comments and then I’ve got a question I want to ask you. You know you just committed a felony? I didn’t know that. Yes you did. Well if you lived in Canada you did. Oh about the homosexual issue? Yes sir. You’re not able to say anything it’s a hate crime i guess if they have hate crime and you could have uh…
you can go to president for i think it’s seven to twenty years uh… it’s a crazy world you can’t even speak out against evil and uh… but it’s no doubt uh… going to probably try to be passed here too i’m sure well we’ve even got it right here i’ve got a solo love it letter i got this is august two thousand three and there was an inmate in michigan uh… state prison up there and they return this to zola and he’s uh…
on the back page he’s got the return uh… received from the prison saying prohibited uh… perception h h number six advocating racial supremacy attacking a racial uh… or ethnic group i guess and basically in his article he says mazams didn’t like it and uh… so christianity is even being restricted in our uh… in our country oh yeah i you know we were seeing it coming in that’s of course what the bible says will happen uh… during the uh… tribulation but my003 to get it to get those are my comments my question is during the millennium uh…
uh… i understand they’ll they’ll actually be death uh… on the people make it into the millennium well yeah they’ll be in their mortal bodies they’re gonna die okay yeah so i mean uh… or when we get our resurrection bodies they’ll never die but those that actually are the subjects and somebody might might now beat the thistles record and live 969 years plus and beat the record and get his name and again as his book records but people will die during the millennium.
And will they be judged at the end of the millennium? Yes. Okay. Okay. Thank you very much and that was Dwight in Clearwater and again we thank you for tuning in today. Again we had that call from the jail and… the If you’re still listening, I want to go over again how you can be saved. You can just whisper a prayer between you and the living God right now. And you could trust Jesus Christ as the one who died for you.
Just maybe say something like God, I’m a sinner. Admit that you are. And just say, God, I don’t understand much, but I believe Jesus died and paid my sin debt in full. By his death on the cross was buried and rose again from the dead. I trust him right now as my Savior, as my only hope of heaven, as the one who died to forgive my sin and give me the gift of eternal life. And God will do it.
And you’re saved and then you need to make a second decision to choose the liver Christ which will bring about reward but salvation is God’s wonderful gift. I hope everybody in our audience today has trusted Jesus Christ as their very own Savior. I would like to personally invite you to come by and see us and jot down the number so you can call us after the program.
