Now, if you can, please open your Bible to the book of Daniel chapter 2 and join us for Dr. Lynch from teaching for today. And God gives the challenge in Isaiah to all of the false religions of the world to tell the future they can’t. They can’t even get the past right, much less the future. And here we find that God tells what would be hereafter in the future.

The only book like this on the planet. This is a most amazing book and not only claims to me the word of God but demonstrates to me so and nearly one quarter of the Bible is history written before the history takes place. Wow, what a book. And yet a lot of people are ignorant of its contents. I was raised in church and really never really introduced to the Bible. I learned a few Bible stories from the Old Testament but I really had no understanding of this book had no idea that it could tell the future as it does and that really it’s tomorrow’s newspaper today.

And if you want to get the latest news, get your Bible out and you’ll see it tell the news before it happens. And I love to watch the evening news and watch it catch up with the Bible. And oftentimes I’ll say I knew that was going to happen. I knew that this would take place. The Bible already said that. And so I knew it in advance. And of course that is exciting isn’t it? That we have a book that’s beyond our time and tells the future before it happens.

It says in verse 29, and he the reveal of secrets make it known to the what shall come to pass. Verse 30, but as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living. Daniel says, I’m not smarter than anybody else and I can tell you this. And notice Daniel is humble and he doesn’t take credit. He says, it’s not not because I’m smarter than somebody else, but the God of the universe, the God of creation, is the one that chose to reveal it.

He says here, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and thou mightest know the thoughts of that heart. God has answered this. A prayer of ours so that we might be spared and God would have you to know what the future holds. Here we go, verse 31. Here’s the dream that Nebuchadnezzar the king had forgotten. Thou, O king, sauced and behold, a great image. This great image whose brightnesszn stood before thee and the form thereof was terrible.

The image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, hisancel, and his thighs)), of brass resumed his legs of iron, his feet part of iron artifically. Thou saw us tell us stone was cut out without hands which smoked the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay and break them to pieces, then was the iron and the clay and the brass and the silver and the gold broken to pieces together and became as the chaff of the summer threshing floors and the wind carried them away and there was no place town for them and the stone that smoked the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

But we’re going to move on now to the interpretation. Verse 36, Daniel says, this is the dream and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. So what we have here is an image that really begins back there with the Nebuchadnezzar Kingdom of Babylon around BC 606 and stretches out over the past 2500 years and brings us down to this time in which we live now when Christ we believe is soon to come back and he’s going to rule over this earth.

So he begins with Babylon, verse 37, thou O King, art a king of kings, for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom and power and strength and glory. And so ever the children of end dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven have He given in the divine hand and thou and hath made the ruler over them all thou art this head of gold. So here in the image and the head being of gold it was a picture here of Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom.

He was in charge of the world at that time and so here is one of the major world powers of past history and he was the first empire. Then verse 39, and after these shall rise another kingdom inferior to thee and then it says another kingdom of brass which shall bear rule over the earth. Now here it mentions two kingdoms that would follow later in the book of Daniel, they’re named by name. The next one, the one who would be inferior to thee is the Medo-Persian Empire which overthrew the Babylonian Empire.

And then a third one of brass which represents the Grecian Empire that very quickly tehre over the world under Alexander, who I guess lately there’s been a film out to talk about his life. Then verse 40, in the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron. You believe this is a picture of the Roman Empire. For as much as iron breaketh in pieces and subdue with all things, as iron that breaketh all these shall break in pieces and bruise. But then in verse 41 it says, whereas thou saw us the feet and toes, part of Potter’s clay and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided, but there shall be in it the strength of the iron for as much as thou saw us the iron mixed with my Reclay.

And as the toes of the feet were part iron and part of clay, it says here, Social Leukemia be partly strong and partly broken. And whereas those saw us iron mixed with my re-clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men, but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. And in the days of these kings, which apparently the tin toes here are representative of ten kings in the last days shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed.

Now that’s the millennium. That’s the thousand year kingdom of Christ which will never be overthrown. Even though there’s one last attempt as we mentioned in the previous class, Satan will be loosed for a short season at the end of the day of thendum of the day of the day, but he’s quickly defeated and Christ’s kingdom that begins at the second coming will not only continue on this earth for a thousand years, but then will continue on into eternity forever and ever and ever.

And the kingdom that Christ establishes will never be overthrown by anyone. And that’s what it’s saying here. And so it says in the days of these kings, that is the ten toes. And we’ll talk about all that in just a moment. Shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed? And the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand for how long, forever.

And for as much as I saw, the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it should break in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter. And the dream is certain and the interpretation there of sure. This is going to happen. All right. So let’s kind of imagine now an image laid out horizontally here that is a picture of time.

And we begin with the Babylonian Empire represented by the head of gold. And then next the shoulders and the arms being of silver representing the Mido Persian Empire. And then next the belly of this image representing the Grecia Empire. And next the thighs and the legs representing the Roman Empire. And then finally way over there we have ten toes or ten kings that would spring forth out of what was ancient Rome. And we find that they would come together.

the days of those ten nations that would rise up back out of Europe that was a part of ancient Rome would then the God of Heaven set up a kingdom that would never be overthrown. We believe that we’re very close to that. Now when we start with the Babylonian Kingdom it started where? In Iraq. And Iraq of course is where we are now with the United States forces being over there and the war that we just have fought and have defeated Saddam Hussein.

The Bible tells us that basically that this would be the history of the Gentile world powers beginning from Nebuchadnezzar’s time. Later we will see that God will show Israel’s plan, God’s plan for Israel that would run alongside of God’s plan for the Gentile nations. This is the only book in the Bible that gives us this insight about the Gentile nations. The Bible describes this time from Nebuchadnezzar, tell the Second Coming, as the times of the Gentiles. Jesus calls it that over in the Gospel of Luke, and the times of the Gentiles would take us all the way from Nebuchadnezzar, tell the time of Jesus’ return.

The times of the Gentiles basically characterized that the Gentiles would have in a sense their foot on the neck of Israel, that Israel would always be under the authority of Gentile powers all the way through this time until the second coming. And then Israel would finally realize the promise that God had made to them, that they They would be the head nation on the earth during the reign of their Messiah, the King of Israel when he comes back at the Second Coming.

And we see exactly that. What did Nebuchadnezzar do? He comes against Israel in the land of Israel and destroys Jerusalem and the temple, carries away the Jewish people captive into the land of Iraq where they were there for 70 years, which we call the Babylonian captivity. and they were allowed to go back. But never ever did they ever live independent from Gentile, bondage, and servitude. Thank you for joining us. We hope that you’re enjoying today’s teaching on the book of Daniel.

We now have Adam in Tampa, Florida. Adam, welcome to Bibleline. Yeah, I just have a couple of quick questions.

One is John 8, the woman that was caught in adultery. Do we know whether she was a believer or not or a sailor? It doesn’t say, but I’m hoping so. She definitely could have been killed there if it hadn’t been for Christ. And Jesus, obviously, is telling us that God is forgiving and that all of us are our sinners and in need of a Savior. And he said he was without sin, let him cast the first stone and everybody walked away.

And he told her to not go back and commit that particular sin again adultery. But I hope that she will see her and heaven. I think we probably will. Obviously, I think that truly having heard the Lord and been forgiven to walk away from death and to live. She probably was paying attention. I hope she trusted Christ. In John 7 we have the Feast of Boost. I believe that’s the hot conica, right? No, that’s the Feast of Hanukkah is in chapter 10 of John.

It’s the Festival of Lights or the Feast of Dedication. The Feast of Boost is the Feast of Tabernacles, which happens in the fall. And of course the Deadit Peace of Education, or Hanukowered, is not one of the seven ordained feast days, but it is a feast that is observed by the Jews ever since 165 BC when a group Nauvzellate priest freed Jerusalem from the wicked Anticus epiphanies who had come in and conquered Jerusalem and defiled the worship there and the temple put a pig on the altar and stopped the Jewish worship system.

And they of course liberated Jerusalem and the temple and started the worship service again. And of course for eight days the menorah in the temple stayed lighted with only one day’s that was the miracle that took place. And it was still celebrated at the time of Christ, it’s still celebrated today. But the Jews missed the real point there, it’s all about Jesus because He is the light that the menorah represents. And He is the one for whom the temple was built and they’re celebrating the rededication of a temple back in 165 BC that doesn’t even exist today, but missed the greater picture of Christ who is the light of the world.

He is the one who for whom the temple was built that we should accept and trust him as a Savior and will be saved. Okay. One last thing is in John 12 in verse 26, is if anyone serves me and must follow me and where I am, could you just expound on that and I hang up and listen, but could you talk mostly about the word follow in there? I’ll be happy to do that. John chapter 12 and verse 26 and I’m almost there.

Let’s see here. John chapter 12 and I think you said verse 26. My pages are sticking together. John 12 verse 26 says, if any man serve me, let him follow me. And basically that’s how you serve the Lord, is following Christ and let me define it by turning to Matthew 419 where Christ said follow me and I’ll make you what? Fishes of men. So the way we serve Christ is by following Him and if we are a follower of Christ we’ll become fishes of men or we’ll become soul winners.

And then He says, and where I am, there shall also my servant be. If any man serve me, him will on my Father honor. So He’s talking talking about rewards here. Honor is equivalent to being rewarded for your faithful service in serving Him. But salvation, of course we know, is a gift and is simply received by faith without works. But after we are saved, we should be servants and if we serve Him, we’ll be honored. And we serve Him by becoming a follower.

Hope that helps. And Adam has already gone off the line and was listening. Leo in Tampa calls in with his software question. My wife and I have a friend that walks around her house speaking in tongues, quote unquote. Having listened to your show a while, I told her that tongues is dead. She said to prove it in the Bible, where is tongues dead? Well, in 1 Corinthians 13, 8 through 10, it tells us that several of the gifts were temporary in nature.

that they would be discontinued when the New Testament was complete or when the Bible was completed. And that happened at the end of the first century, somewhere on 1896 when the book of Revelation capped off the Bible with its final book. And so tongues ceased at that time. There’s nobody today speaking in tongues. What is being called tongues today is a gibberish, but if you look up the word language in Acts chapter 2, the Greek word is dialectos, and it means a specific dialect of a specific language.

What people are doing today is not understood by the one who is speaking it, nor by the one who is hearing it. And yet the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14 about the real gift of tongues when it was still operating, it says in verse 9 of 1 Corinthians 14, except he says, speak by the tongue, words easy to be understood. How shall it be known what is spoken? You’re wasting everybody’s time. You just speak into the air. So if nobody understands the jibberies, then it’s not the real language gift that God gave.

The real language gift was to speak words easily understood. It would be easily understood by the hearer. And so if you speak in tongues, you should be leading people to Christ in that tongue. That’s just not happening today. 1 Corinthians 1422 says, Thunzer for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not. It should be used with the lost and it should be used to evangelize. And I have offered this so many times that nobody ever takes me up on it.

Anybody that speaks in tongues, let’s go see it work. I will be glad to drive you to a crowd, maybe in the mall, maybe to a park, maybe someplace. And I’ll get you a crowd. In fact, I’ll stand of my head and freak out. I’ll get a crowd to come around. Then I’ll introduce you. And if you’ll speak in your gibberish and if it’s the real gift, it’s going to be assigned unbelievers. They’re going to come to know Christ the Savior.

There’s going to be revival. I want to see it happen. I’d love to. I’ll buy you a steak dinner after we get done. You know, nobody’s ever gone with me. I’ve never had one person who claims they have the the gift of tongues want to try that experiment. They know that the loss do not really buy into this thing at all that they call tongues today that is really gibberish. And so they don’t want to use it out in public.

I’ve never had anybody yet say I’ll go to the ball with you and we’ll do it and we’ll get revival because they know that it is not a sign for the unbeliever. But the Bible says that the real gift was a sign for unbelievers, not believers. Alright, We have Sterling in Tampa, Florida on the line. Sterling, welcome to Violin. Oh, yeah. I have a question about the story about when Jesus was born in Matthew. It just says that they, the angel said the flea to Egypt and they did.

And then I think it’s in Luke where they had to, they’d be up to Jerusalem to get baptized. And I just wonder what is the, what’s the, what is the sort of consensus, the theory upon how to reconcile those two passages. Well what happened is that what happened to Matthew happened two years after the birth. We find that Jesus was living in a house in Matthew chapter 2 verse 11 it says, and the wise man came into the house.

We also know that Herod verse 16 kills all the babies two years old under according to what the wise man had told Herod as the winning they had seen the star. They saw that the star two years earlier and they began their journey and it took them two years to get to Jerusalem. And Jesus is already a two year old, not lying in the manger and not in a stable, but in a house. And so basically they lived in Bethlehem, which is four miles south of Jerusalem.

They went up 40 days after Christ was born and they went up on the eighth day to circumcise him and the 40 day to dedicate him, which was not a long journey at all. And then after the two years, they went down to Egypt and then they came back to Nazareth later. So obviously they were living right there for all the time. They didn’t flee to Egypt until Jesus was two years old. Okay, boy. Thank you. You’re very welcome.

To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771.

That’s 1-800-576-3771. Wow, so many things are happening in the world right now. It leads us to believe that we’re getting close to the Lord’s return, especially as we watch Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Jerusalem. The Bible tells us that that is the city to keep your eye on. And of course we know that the temple was there. The first and second temples, the third temple will be rebuilt there. That’s where Jesus will come back too. And prior to his second coming after the Rapture, the Bible tells us all nations will come together against Jerusalem to battle.

So we need to look at Jerusalem and watch what’s happening in the Middle East. And right now it looks like they’re talking about war in the Middle East. We don’t know. Well, there’s expecting to be a lot of fallout and of course Israel will be retaliated against. And it looks like there’s a lot of talk on the Internet about a potential war here coming up with Iran. So we know that the stage is being set for the Antichrist who is going to actually militarily take over all the core countries there of the Middle East.

And what will escape is a portion of land that is really modern day Jordan. Do you have your Bible there? Do you have it handy? Can you reach over and grab your Bible? Can you open it up to Daniel? And can you turn to Daniel chapter 11? If you can, you can be looking at what I’m looking at here, Daniel 11, it says here about the Antichrist that he will actually enter into the Middle East militarily. And in verse 41 it says he shall enter also into the glorious land.

He’s actually going to take over Israel halfway through the seven year tribulation period that will follow the rapture. Once we’re raptured out, three and a half years later the Antichrist will take over the middle east and he will take over even Israel. It says here many countries will be overthrown. I believe they are what are known as ancient Assyria, which includes all of Zalenei, all of Iraq, all of Libya, all of Lebanon, all of Israel and all of Egypt.

It actually says that here, many countries shall be overthrown, but even these shall escape out of his hand even Me, Edom and Moab and the children of Amman. Now Amman today is the present day capital of the country of Jordan. and eat them in Moab. If you look at a map, Amman, eat them in Moab are all modern-day Jordan. And it says here in my Bible that the Antichrist, when he takes over these many countries in the Middle East, which will be everything that was ancient Assyria.

And by the way, when Assyria grew, it grew in a counterclockwise direction. If you start off in Saudi Arabia and you move up to the left and around, you will go through Iraq, you will go through Syria, you’ll start coming down and go through Lebanon, you’ll come down through Israel and And you’ll wind up down in Egypt, and that’s exactly what the plan is here coming up in the future whereillegal the Antichrist will take over all these countries, and it will include Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syriahoe, Lebanon, Israel, and Egypt.

But Jordan is going to escape out of his hands. Nowbats we’ve beengovtrack here in the past about Petra, a rock city, carved out of the rock 2500 years ago that remained lost to the world for about 2000 years. been redBuyable since 1850 by a British archaeologist named Burkhardt. But it’s a city of about 40 square miles of territory carved right out of the rock that’s ready for the Jews to go to the flea from the Antichrist. And the Bible actually speaks about a city that is prepared of God where God will feed and take care of Israel once again during the tribulation period.

It’s called the beautiful rose-red city of Petra, Binder numerous times, and its beauty is incredible. And it’s a place where the Bible describes that the Jewish people will flee and it’s in what is modern-day Jordan and that says here that that land will apparently be politically neutral and be out of the hands of the Antichrist. That’s why they’ll be safe there. But it says also in verse 42, the Antichrist will stretch forth his hand upon the countries and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

So he’ll wind up taking over Egypt. He’ll have power over the treasures of gold and silver and over all the precious things of Egypt and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. If you look at a map, when you look at Egypt to the right, you have Ethiopia to the left, you have Libya. The Antichrist will have taken over Egypt and will be ready to take over Libya and Ethiopia but he stops. Why does he stop?

It tells us right here why he stops. He doesn’t go any further. It says because Tydings out of the east, I believe that’s China and Tydings out of the north, I believe that’s Russia, well, trouble him and you know Libya and Ethiopia both have ties with Russia. So apparently Russia is saying, you betterilial touch him. And China also, and we find apparently he stops right there at the borders of Libya and Ethiopia. And the Antichrist, according to verse 45 of Daniel, it says, he’ll plant the tabernacle of his palace between the seas.

Now, the two seas it’s talking about here is the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean. Look at a map. You’ll find that dead center between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea is Jerusalem. Have you been able to join us for Dr. Lindstrom’s teaching series on the Book of Daniel? This series covers a variety of topics from the Book of Daniel, such as Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream, the fiery furnace, the handwriting on the wall, and the lion’s den, in addition to many exciting prophecies.

We will be exploring all of these and more in this teaching series. We hope that you plan to join us and open your Bible for a verse by verse study of the book of Daniel. If you have missed any of the teaching in this series, please call our Resource Center at 1-800-576-3771. Now please join us as we return to our question and answer segment and then we’ll return for more Bible teaching from Dr. Lindstrom. We’re going to go to Nathaniel down in Belgrade, Florida and Nathaniel, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air.

Yes, I’m covering again by the male children. No, Kessydic, okay? Chapter 7 of Hebrews and then Chapter 14 of Genesis. Yes, I read that too, sir. and on the bottom on the bottom on by the sky name child haphazardly do you h a uh… h a you know he said the g knowledge you know that when you had no more than no father if they didn’t have a record g-nology could you explain that to me sir well i think he’s wrong the Hebrews chapter seven is quite clear that he had no father and no mother not he didn’t have a genealogy record of his mother and father but he had no one following them other.

He says he has no beginning nor end of days. I mean, obviously he’s lived eternally and notice he’s made like end of the Son of God. So this is clearly Christ. There’s no doubt about it. And the passage here in Hebrews chapter seven says that and plus his names are the same as the names of Christ. He is the king of peace. That’s who Jesus is. He is according to verse three of Matthew, of Hebrew 7, where he’s without father, he doesn’t have a father, not without a genealogy, without a mother, he doesn’t have a mother, without descent.

So there is no genealogy, descent would mean the genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life. So he didn’t have a start and didn’t have an end. Christ is the eternal Son of God, can be none other than him. And then it says here clearly in verse 3, he is made like end of the Son of God and he many abrides of priests continually. Melchizedek, I believe, is without a doubt God and flesh the Lord Jesus Christ in a pre-incarnated appearance of Christ in the Old Testament.

Hope that helps. If you will, it helps. All right, thank you. Okay, you can’t believe all those commentaries you read. Many of them are wrong and you have to realize that I have to rely on Scripture, not the commentaries. We have now Keith and he’s calling in from Lakeland, Florida and Keith, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. A couple quick questions in the Old Testament and the sacrificial system were all the animals sacrificed, male, and then did they have some kind of sacrifice daily every day?

And I’ll hang up with him. All right. I think the answer, I’m not too sure about whether all the animals were male. I don’t think so, but I’ll have to go back and take a fresh look about that. And there were sacrifices usually offered all the time. But the main sacrifice was once a year when the high priest would take the blood and go into the holy of holies and apply the blood on the mercy seat. And that of course was a picture of Christ paying for our sin.

And according to the Bible, Christ took his blood up to heaven and applied it on the mercy seed in heaven, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Hebrews 9 tells us in verse 12 that not by the blood of bulls and goats, but by his own blood. He entered once into the holy place, having obtained. Eternal redemption for us. So in any case that I hope helps a little bit with that and we’ll have to go back and do some for the study whether the male there were male and female animals used in the sacrifice.

I think so. We’re going to go now to Roseanne in Temple Terrace, Florida and Roseanne. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes. Good morning. Pastor. Good morning. Thank you for taking my call. Could you please tell me? the gold and rule what scriptures it is and could you please repeat it? Well the golden rule per se is really not in Scripture but the principle is there that we’re to do unto others as we have them do unto us and I believe you’ll find those principles in the Sermon on the Mount which is in Matthew 5, 6, and 7 so I think you’ll find it basically there but there’s no golden rule in the Bible but the principles of the The goal rule is certainly there.

So there is not a verse I could point you to, but I hope that helps a little bit. Read Matthew 5, 6, and 7, the Sermon on the Mount. You’d find that we are to love our enemies and we’re to do good unto those that spitefully use us and all those kind of things. And of course the goal rule says do unto others as you’d have them do unto you. And basically the goal rule principles are there. And that’s Matthew 5, 6, and 7.

Oh, great. Oh, thank you so much. I really appreciate it. God bless you. Alright. Thank you very much. Thank you, Roseanne, in Temple Terrace, Florida. We now have Tony in Richmond, Virginia, and Tony, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Year. Good morning. Dr. Lynch from about, I think it’s in first Corinthians, about the gifts of knowledge, prophecy, and tongue. There was the things in part. We’ll see. I know you know what I’m talking about there. )); Can you explain that?

Give me a explanation for that please. The other thing I wanted to comment on was I don’t know if it’s scriptural or not if you can find the script report, but I would be able to hang out in heaven because I think it would be really cool to actually meet and like sit down and converse. If we couldn’t meet here in that like in heaven, me and… I’m sure we will. Yeah, that would be great. I think the river of life or the tree of life is probably going to be a great gathering place where we’ll get to eat at the tree of life and gather and drink water at the river of living water.

So I’m sure we’ll have lots of time for conversation and lots of time to enjoy one another. But as far as that passage in 1 Corinthians, we have a wonderful book in our resource center here called The New Testament Teaching on Tongues by Merle Unger. He exigites that whole passage there in chapter 13 of Corinthians, and it’s really talking about the Corinthian church, and at the time when the church was in its infancy, it began at Pentecost. He talks about when I was a child, I spoke as a child, and so on and so on, but when I became an adult, I put away childish things.

The spectacular gifts were like the toys that a child would play with. When you get older you put them aside and you no longer need them. God gave some temporary gifts that aided the growth of the New Testament Church as it began and among them were the gifts of prophecy and knowledge and tongues. They were temporary in nature and they were then put away when we got the New Testament record completed. The Word of God. Then it says that although we saw darkly beforehand, now when the New Testament record is completed, we’ll see face to face with the Lord as we see the Scriptures unveiling everything we need to know as a Christian.

I love 2 Timothy chapter 3, verse 16 and 17. It says that the Word of God is able to completely equip us and to make us mature as a Christian. And we don’t need anything outside of the Bible. So the Bible is that which is perfect and it can mature the believer and completely equip us for whatever service God has for us to do. And we thank you, Tony, for calling in from Richmond, Virginia, and we’re out of time.

This wraps up today’s question and answer segment about the Bible featuring Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We hope that you have enjoyed it and that you are growing in your knowledge about the word of God. Then they were allowed to go back, but never ever did they ever live independent from Gentile, bondage, and servitude.

And we find that even when Jesus came, when the Romans were ruling, Israel had to obey the rules of Rome. And even when they wanted to crucify Christ, they had to appeal to Pilate. As Pilate was the Roman governor and representative in that area, and they couldn’t do diddly with Jesus Christ unless the Romans gave authority. And the Bible even predicted that, that the Romans would grant their authority for the Messiah to be killed, and that Jews and Gentiles alike would share in the responsibility for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

When we ask, who’s to blame? Obviously the answer is all of us, because Jesus died to pay for the sins of every man, woman and child that would ever be born. And so we all share that guilt of putting Christ on the cross because He died for us. On the other hand, it was God Himself who designed this plan. And so really no one took His life because Jesus gave His life. Christ had not allowed Himself to be taken and crucified.

There is no army that could have ever taken Him and muscled Him to the cross and nailed Him to that cross. It would not be possible. He could have called angels to his side. In fact, he reminded Peter of that. He said, could I not have called 12 legions of angels for help? Well, a legion in the Roman army was 2,000 soldiers. So 12 legion would be 24,000 soldiers. That’s quite a nice little group. But he’s saying he could have called 24,000 angels.

He wrote a hymn that you hear often sung. He could have called 10,000 angels. I think the hymn writer found it difficult to say he could have called 24,000 angels. They just said 10,000. I always get a smile when I hear that sung. It’s a pretty song about how he could have called upon the angels. You read back in Kings that one angel at one time killed 185,000 of the Assyrian army all by himself. Now if one angel can take care of 185,000 men, what could 24,000 angels do?

Obviously. But Christ didn’t need the angels. He’s God. He could have destroyed them himself. And Jesus reminded them as he went through the crucifixion scene there that no man take if my life from me. I have the power to lay it down and I have the power to take it up again.” And nobody’s ever spoken like that. Only Christ had the power to dismiss His Spirit from His body at His own will. You and I can’t do that. And we know that He alone could do that.

He could have remained alive on the cross had He so chosen to do so. But at the end of those six hours, at three in the afternoon, the Bible says He dismissed His Spirit from his body. He did that by an act of the will as he is God and he alone can do that. And he could have remained alive, but never died if he had chosen. He could have destroyed the whole world. He could have destroyed any army that would have come against him.

But that was not what he chose to do. He chose to give his life so that we might live and give his life as a payment for the sins that you and I have committed so that we might be safe. Many times Jewish people have been called the Christ killers, and I’ve had a number of Jewish people down through the years who are bitter because of that and say, why are we blamed? Why are we called the Christ killers?

We saw that sore reopened when Mel Gibson’s film was about to be released, and the Jewish communities were saying that Here we go again. He’s blaming us Jews. And that’s what many of them thought about that whole movie. But obviously the Jews involved in bringing Jesus to Pilate to have him crucified. But they were guilty, yes. And so were us Gentiles as the Romans. Ultimately made that decision there. But as Peter reminds us that it was God who determined before the foundations of the earth that he would provide a Savior for each of us.

So we have here, beginning in Iraq, a world power. And then each successive power controlled the territory of the previous power and spread its influence and territory even wider. The Medo-Persians conquered Babylon and controlled that territory plus an expanded area of territory. And then the Greeks took that territory into their control and expanded their rule. And then Rome conquered all of that and expanded their territory even further. And I believe the United States is the in form of this colossal image that would be formed that we are an extension of Rome.

And I think you can see that in our country’s laws in our makeup, in our history, as most of us have come from European background and heritage. And later we’ll find in Daniel that the Bible says that the ten nations, the ten toes here of Daniel 2, would actually spawn an 11th nation that would control the ten nations and be more powerful than younger than and be the country out of which the Antichrist would come. I believe we are that country and later we’ll be seeing that in chapter 7 where I believe the United States is the final form of world government where the ten nations of Europe will come under the control of the United States and of its leader which will be the Antichrist.

And what happens? Then the leader of the West would take us back into the Middle East and we would conquer Iraq and all the countries that were ancient Assyria. And once we have our control in the Middle East over Iraq, then Daniel presents, Zachariah presents, we’ll show you the passages we go through this class, that this image would then stand up and that the ten toes, the feet of this image would stand back in Iraq where it all began.

So here we have an image laid out horizontally over time, and it began in Iraq with the head of gold being Nebuchadnezzar. And then it stretches forth, it expands out through the world and gains more territory. And it’s the same system that can be traced down in the economic way because we are, all of the merchandising in the world has come through this particular line of world powers. And the inform would be full of the merchandising of things. As we find in Revelation it talks about Babylon, the political system, and how that they would be trading and selling all kinds of things around the world.

And that merchandising would end when Jesus would come back. And the cities of this world would come down at the Battle of Armageddon and so on, and would no longer be merchandising things as they do today. We are really the west, the countries that are the ones that are full of commercialism and merchandising and the big traders. And that’s a system that began in ancient Babylon that had carried through all these world powers. Until the last days when we see the feet being planted back where it all began in Iraq.

The image stands up and then guess what? Jesus comes back as a stone and this stone crushes those ten nations and defeats the Antichrist and the nations that have brought the Western world and its government into control in the Middle East and God will defeat them. And then Jesus who is that stone would set up his kingdom in Jerusalem and rule over the whole earth. And he’d bring peace to Jerusalem and then as Isaiah says, the peace would flow like a river from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth and the whole earth would be at peace when the Messiah comes.

And this is the image here. We find that this stone would come and it would fall upon the toes upon the feet and notice what it says in verse 35. Then shall the the iron and the clay and the brass and the silver and the gold. Notice, it sees this image growing into one full world power in the end, controlling all the territory that it began with, as is King of Babylon, and the West would control Iraq. And the West would control all the territory that ancient Babylon controlled and all Medo-Persia controlled.

We’re looking at it happening right now. Our president has put Syria, Saudi Arabia. I ran all these countries on alert, don’t mess with us. And how in his inaugural speech that he would bring democracy to the Middle East and to these countries. Interesting. This is the West. Now, finally, the full extension of the ten toes, the ten toes that would spawn an 11th nation and the Antichrist coming out of the 11th nation. And then this whole thing, turning back to where it began and establishing its base in the Middle East, in Iraq, and that then Jesus would come back and crush the Western nations at the Battle of Armageddon and set up His Kingdom of peace on Earth could wilt toward men.

We’re right about there. We’re right about there. I tell you, going into Iraq and what happened there is actually in time material. We are watching the image getting ready to push itself up and stand as a big power in this world. We’re the undisputed superpower right now and we’ll stand there and the whole world will see the United States of control of the Middle East and the oil that’s there and of the countries that were there, part of these ancient countries that began with this building of this colossal image.

And the most valuable part would be the head of gold and where is the oil? Wow, the wealth, the oil is there in the Middle East, isn’t it? And so the head is of gold and we’re going to go over there to get the oil, to get the treasure. And who controls the Middle East will control the world and the West is ready to pull that off and look at what God did. He planted all this wealth underneath all that sand and nobody cared about it until just about hundred years ago.

And God said in Ezekiel that he put hooks in the jaws of the nations to bring them back into the Middle East. Thanks for listening to Bibleline with Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Be sure to tune in to another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Look at a map. You’ll find that dead center between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea is Jerusalem. It’s in the middle. It’s right there. And it says here he’ll plant the Tabernacle of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain. That is Jerusalem. And so Jerusalem will be the place where the Antichrist will build his Tabernacle where he will live and where he will rule the Western world.

So we got some insight here as to what’s going to happen in the Middle East. And we already are seeing a whole lot of shaking and jumping around. We are living close to when he’s in the Middle East. to take place. It’s not just one thing that’s happening. Everything that Christ said is beginning to come to pass before our very eyes. We find also that there are these incurable diseases. Lots of new things happening here. And the Bible said in Matthew 24 that there would be these incurable diseases.

And boy, we have a host of them today, don’t we? These are all new to us. I don’t think anybody ever talked about these things when I was a child about AIDS or Ebola or the West Nile virus or Asian bird flu or all these other crazy things that are out there. These man eating flesh eating bacteria that they have today, the MRSA germs that now are common everywhere that people can get that and you can kill you. Staff infection today that’s so powerful that only a few antibiotics will be able to stop.

But we’re living in the last days. Famine. All the time now we’re reading about food shortages. Worldwide. Earthquakes and diverse places. Crazy things happening. All a part of the end times and I think we’re living close here. But the Antichrist will take over Israel and the neighbors around Israel, but one part of the Middle East will escape the hand of the Antichrist, according to verse 41 of Daniel chapter 12, and it says, even Edom and Moab, and the chief of the children of Amman.

That is modern-day Jordan. Amman is the capital of Jordan. I’ve stayed there numerous times on trips to Israel and the Middle East. And that is the capital. If you go south, you have the land of Moab and Edom. And that’s where the Rock City of Petra is. And no wonder it is going to be protected by God so that Jewish people can get there. By the way, if you flee from Jerusalem to Petra, you’ll find if you draw a straight line between Jerusalem and Petra, you go right through the Dead Sea.

And guess what’s happened? The Dead Sea, because the surface is going down, down, down, as they don’t allow water from the Jordan to flow into the Dead Sea anymore, there has been exposed now a sandbar that is like a highway that runs diagonally right across the Dead Sea. And if you run a line from Jerusalem to Petri, guess what? There’s a highway. God has apparently had him to the Dead Sea all along, but now is exposed that will allow the Jewish people to flee straight down across the Dead Sea right into Petri.

I have a satellite map and boy you can see it’s so good from outer space. This sandbar, this highway, God has prepared for the Jews to be able to flee. And you can see this highway so clear, it’s a clear shot for Jewish people fleeing the Antichrist. When he takes over the land of Israel in the middle of the tribulation period, they’ll be able to flee straight to Petra where they’ll be protected by God miraculously and fed there until the end of the tribulation when the Bible says in Isaiah 16 that the Messiah will go to Petra and actually lead these people back into the Promised Land as he’ll gather them back into his land as he rules over them during the millennium.

I’m excited. I don’t know about you, but I think maybe we’re getting close to when the Lord’s going to snatch us all out. Are you aware of that? And by the way, if he comes this year, it’ll probably be on the Feast of Trumpets. That’s the most reasonable day for him to come as the feast days, all picture events related to the two companies of Christ. Christ died on the Feast of Passover buried during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, rose from the dead on the Feast of First Fruits.

The Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost and began his present age, the next feast that will end the sages when the rapture happens. This is Rosh Hashanah. You might have a few months left before we’re raptured out. I don’t know if the Lord’s coming this year or not, but it could be that he would. If he did, he might start counting down because at the end of September we might all be going out of here. Now please play this back if you thought I said the Rapture was happening this year.

I didn’t say that and people didn’t misquote you, but I didn’t say that. I said it could happen. It could happen. And it could happen this year. Wouldn’t that be something? Then in case we got around, but we’ll be back tomorrow. So keep looking up, Jesus is coming and we believe soon. Okay.
